"We'll take you where others won't get in the chunk of the season where you're going to start to see some of your normal winters israeli going to change. How many on lights writes pretty obvious. You know some of that. Next batch of cars is really deemed to be thinking about swinging from the fence racist and think every driver gloves that racetrack i view. It's fun because it's wore out the cars are sliding around one in its wine. If it's happening in nascar you'll hear it on. Prn's garage pass. It's going to be the hottest grazed we've ever had down there so the track is seen extremely slow lack of grip and so we're already making that of changes the most painful day. I'm listening to the twenty teams in my ears. While the dentist get my teeth cleaned it might have been the most painful our possibly my my life. Prn's garage pass. It's four minutes that will keep you talking for hours. Download our free mobile app to listen to the show at more great. Vr in content. On the go now. Back to the o'reilly auto parts pit reporters walk back. Mama cat Chris by chris bite from catchments. Whatever a night. And i come. I'll get your name out sooner or later and bob poker. Some words just rolled off the tongue for some reason. I brought villa. Glad you're with us. Chris where do you come down on the debate of was it. A good race at darlington was an entertaining race. Or not okay. So i'm very vocal on twitter about this last bob seen it so you either loved you hate it and there's no in between right and so And that's cool and you're either gonna love it or hate it but there comes to the point where you just have to respect people's opinion even if you don't agree with it and as far as i'm concerned you know i it had some moments right. It had some moments. Where you've got up on the gotcha outta control but it had some moments when like this is okay right so But i'll take that any day over the not being at the racetrack because at this point last year. We weren't even racing. So i'm okay with that as long you know. I just think to the point. Where if it's good race great if it's not okay race cool but people just got to respect people's opinions and understand that we're not gonna agree. That's okay bob. Where do you come down on it. I didn't really love it or hate it. But i'm just told that i can't not love it or hate it so Hitting i you know. Look i think you know what you always want to see. More lead changes right yet. You never want to see a but whopping unless you're the person or the fan of the person who's doing the button whooping so in in that sense you know was a great now. What did have excitement there over the last thirty thirty five laps. You know when larsson was was chasing him down and he thought like he he had a shot to pass them Yeah and so you were kind of on the edge of your seat for the for the for the final Final stint there You know look a not. All races are going to be great. I didn't think this was a great race. you know. There's a lot of debate on whether the high horsepower verse low horsepower. I think darlington is better as a high horse. Power track because i think that the drivers You know there. There's there seems to be more in the driver's control. And there's there's been some of the low horsepower racist this year where we've seen some pretty exciting tools right and simpson. Some you know with the drafting that potential that can come into play so depends on the right fit for the track. The thing i would say is that you know for those who want to argue. Five fifty versus seven fifty. There's only eight more races with With five fifty this year so and then you got the new car the next gen car. And we really don't know exactly where they're gonna fall in that with horsepower and spoiler so you know if if you're not happy with the with the low horsepower. Just remember that That there's potentially only a handful left the one thing i'm glad about chris's it was only four hundred miles and it was a three over three hour race. Four hundred miles. I you know. I've made it clear that in favor of five hundred mile races except the daytona five hundred the southern five hundred and the coq six hundred. I don't think angel races. I i don't think we need any more five-under racine avenue mile races beyond that. This is plenty long at four hundred miles. The one thing that i find interesting and you really think back on it. And and i think sometimes looking for for these game seven moments where we expect every lap the be riveting side by side racing. I think we sometimes get too hung up on looking for constant battles throughout the. You're just not get that over three and a half hours racetrack. And i think for perspective. You look back on the way. It was thirty years ago when you had three or four cars on the lead lap at the end of race. What do we have nine. This time and people are going true ex. Stunk it up. He killed. Everybody lapped the field for nine if we had four cars on the lead lap at the end of a race. Can you imagine the outcry. It'd be bad. I i think it just depends on on how exciting the finish was right. I think larson was up there. Battling for the win that they were neck and neck. Coming like a ricky craven. Kurt busch kind of.

"Should focus instead on re introducing him to society. After seven months in jail, he was about to be released and suddenly He had to get a job. He had to do community service. He was going to have to interact with the rest of the world. But he could sort of see the absurdity of everything. You can see the absurdity of a man spending 27 years in the woods. And you get also see the absurdity of not spending 27 years the woods on and said things like, you know, from what I've seen from my position in jail of He kept coming at your world has been really disappointing to me, just filled with colors and ridiculous aspirations and I couldn't disagree with most of it. So Mike was pleasantly surprised when, after his release, all the counselors and court officials said that Chris was doing really well showing up in court dates, getting a part time job at his brother's business attending to his family. Model parolee. Mike even went to visit him at his family's home in central Maine. He says that when I got there when Chris greeted him, he looked like a totally normal guy. Baseball cap work boots. Member of society. Tonight. Indicated this hand to come. Follow him. It's like, give me a very welcoming gesture, which was Extremely surprising. We stood under this tree. Pretty close to each other didn't touch each other. And we had the most. In fact, the only Real. Emotional, truly human conversation I've ever had with Chris Knight. I said, how you doing? And I thought that he would tell me He was doing great. Chris Never one to beat around the Bush and not one toe lie to me, said Not well. Chris explained. That has been performance in front of US counselors in this family. Let's just a shell game. But in reality he was doing terribly found every human interaction hopelessly awkward, all the normal goals and milestones of human life totally meaningless. You help. No one really understood him and the longer he spent in society, the more the pressure was building in him to escape again to go back to the woods. And then now he turned to me with his very and Helen eye contact for just a couple seconds, which is startling for Chris and Asked me a very personal question about himself, which he had never done before. He said..

"With us Before we talk about the the way the play offs are shaping up to races in You know we obviously cova continues to be a story you know last week. We are this coming week. We're supposed to be headed to montana that race got cancelled and moved to the daytona road. Course that's why we're going homestead this week instead of last week but nascar continues to be very serious about the whole cova situation protecting everybody in the garage area. And to that point. Nate find chip ganassi. Thirty thousand dollars and banned him barred him from this week's race at homestead because he took somebody into the hit area the garage area this past week who was not essential and not allowed to be part of the bubble down there and they continue to show that nascar serious about protecting everybody and keeping the sport moving forward. That's good to see bread. Certainly they are being vigilant about bad and taking it. Seriously been a contentious issue though Within the industry and within the garage From what i understand. Nascar has been very pleased about some of the comments that drivers have made about not being able to have other family members there in the plates that they've made on social media about the covid restrictions and i understand that nascar kinda told them to tamp that down that they were pleased about that But yeah obviously. They're taking this very seriously and they weren't pleased. That chip ganassi had a visitor with him. That apparently wasn't approved. Have so thirty thousand dollar fine and a one race ban is a message for a car owner. At christie's you look at it. You know we all got to november last year and sat there went. I can't believe nascar got it all the races in. I can't believe they got it all in on time We all went to the same thing couple of weeks ago. The super bowl in the national football league that we can't believe they got it all in and got all in on time and we look around. What's happening. I don't know for folks that watch other sports the nba's having struggles. The incidentally basketball is having struggles. And they're all headed for a big bubble an indiana for the tournament where they're going to be unbelievable restrictions on the teams and the coaches and everybody else i mean other folks are having serious problems in gels having problems. You know i think nascar of wrote a pretty good book last year and had to handle this and you know we're not out of the woods yet nowhere now the what's anastas. Obviously doing what they feel like is in the best interests of the sport as and as long as they continue to do that as long as they continue to be You know In a follow the protocols in the guidelines to what they've they've laid out than you know You know the teams have no choice to abide by tuning everybody to buy has been self her by not only for the media and the drivers families and the sponsors. And everybody's so. I think everybody's eager to get back to some sense of normalcy. But we're not there yet and you just have two convenient push through and nascar Has been a leader for for the sports world in how to deal with this pandemic and i think that they've done a masterful job and they they show it with a penalty to chip ganassi That they're not laying around Unfortunately i you know social media. I think was a or that of a part of a habit that buying got a out for. Say if you know but you know people have to vote understand that that these protocols measures are in place for everybody's safety not just one person you know so i think as long as we continue to be mindful that or the quicker that we can get rid of this pandemic ending you back to somewhat normal life well and the kind of lift the veil a little bit for those of us in the broadcast into things and for chris and neetu were as well as doing some broadcasting. I mean you know for us we to race those of us that work in the pits we are. We go straight to the pits. And that's we go to the infield or not allowed to go up in the booth. The guys that work in the booth or not allowed to go into the infield so i mean that's those are the restrictions were all dealing with. We go the health check as we go into the end of the into the infield and for chris and date when they go to the track. They're not allowed to go into the infield if they go to the press box they go straight to the press box and that's what we're all been working restrictions who all been working with since last May i driver in person. Sorry nate or go. i say. I haven't seen they in almost here. Yeah yeah no. That's what i was gonna say. I mean i covered the rolex twenty four january daytona at obviously a owned entity and I said what the tv compound. I mean i worked alongside by nbc. Sports colleagues of course broadcast rolex twenty four. But i didn't see anybody for nbc pretty much. From media day onward. For the whole week i was. There is an ideal. No but that's what we have to deal with To chris's point just trying to get through until the pandemic sides in i think there's some general optimism We'll see some some that some thawing of the ice on that. Hopefully by the end the season yeah they. We'd rather do it this way under these rules than have it to do it all so i think we'd all agree on that. Let's talk about. We talked at the top of the show about the fact. I don't think we're surprised at christopher bell wanna race so maybe the you know. A lot of folks had in pennsylv- the sixteen go to the playoffs. This ashir michael mcdowell on the other hand i think he he pretty took a spot that i think a lot of folks had pencilled in for somebody else. Oh is it too early to start thinking about you. Know if you're one of the other drivers start thinking about you know. Now i've got a little more heat on me to get get out there and push to get a win because i can't afford to think about pointing my way in now now. It's not too early. And i was looking back at the last seven or eight years. How many winters there have been in the last time there were more than sixteen winners was two thousand thirteen which was before this current playoff structure of sixteen drivers. Making the field was place. So i don't think there will be sixteen winners. I think are probably closer like twelve or thirteen but It's not too early to start thinking about it and drivers in teams already are any breakfast last said it after the daytona road course race. He said if you don't get a win soon you're really gonna be sweating it. You're going to be nervous because for a lot of these guys. That's probably the only pathway in. I think christopher bell on points regardless but the fact that one i think changes were that points bubble is gonna land and certainly mcdowell making it in. That's somebody nobody expected would have been in that sixteen driver field so that takes away spot. I roll expecting to see chase elliott joey gano denny hamlin kevin harvick. Probably kyle busch brecca's lassie but kyle busch is a great example of somebody who didn't win during the regular season last year. And you know there's it always seems like there are some late starters and this year that could prove to be like a huge detriment to somebody's playoff chances like we. We could see in incidents of where a big name. Does it make the playoff field and not because they're having particularly horrid year. It just might be right around that points bubble in. They might just take until the playoffs to win a race. By that time. It'd be too late. And you know. Chris now i mean you know. I've heard jason ratcliffe just iraq but Adam stevens talk about it this week. And and michael mcdowell andrew brick looking surfer in the same situation now they can actually afford to approach the season completely differently than they weren't. They don't have to worry about points now. I mean yeah. Maybe a little bit but they can make different decisions. Maybe gamble a little bit more. I mean they can approach their whole year differently now because.

"So i think he's capable of handling that pressure but he's gonna be put in circumstances throughout the season that he's maybe uncle or maybe on challenge or never had to deal with that before and how he executes those challenges or is going to determine how he's perceived not only from the race but the other drivers so while he floored everybody was this performance today on a row. Course i'm kind of You know holding back to see what he can do. These other places that he's going to raise better non-recourse as well because he's an arrest places like dover and michigan international speedway and even You know shopping charlotte in maize on schedule. I'm curious and eager to see what he can do on those serves as well just to see if his craft is is is geared towards wrote horst resort can do this masterful of brass on on these bigger tracks. Slow at you see. Yeah i think there's going to be a little bit more pressure on him naturally. But i think it's the good kind of pressure i and i don't think anybody's i think the downside would have been struggled. Massively the daytona road course. And then you know the charges of nepotism. We've already kind of heard floating around about tie gives me understandably. Because of his last name. I think all of that is kind of been washed away by the daytona road. Course victory and you know you mentioned it. This gives us all star car. We know how good gives his building xfinity vehicles. How fast they are and that he could win at a track like the road. Course i think i just think it gives me a huge amount of confidence going the rest of these places so while we might have higher expectations form and expect them to win those places. I also think he's showed that one. He's got the talent for it. In to like i mentioned he's got that commitment level and that willingness to get in the simulator david wilson of development the president. They are a availability today with the media in which he talked about the driving simulator. Tie game size it home Is as good as what. Tr d. had ten years ago so again like i think his talent level combined with a commitment combined with that type of technology can use to gonna get up to speed it would not surprise me at all if we saw him win another racer to and xfinity this year as long as nobody brings up. Tie gibbs silver spoon. We'll be okay right. I think that's done didn't work to offer that other guy right when we come back. We're gonna talk about these first time winners. Hasn't shaken up the chance for these guys other guys to make the playoffs just two races in. We'll see they were this. This is derek reilly auto parts story. After the third time. Starting my car. I finally realized my battery was dying. So i stopped by rally. Have it checked. They tested it right there in the parking lot. It was bad. Who real bad. But they helped me find the right battery for my car and even installed it free now. My car starts like new auto.

"To have you with us. You know you look back on last weekend and think about the weekend. That coach joe gibbs had you know he gets his youngest driver the new driver the twenty into victory lane in the cup series and then his grandson the day before goes out and in his first race next finnerty series in what. They're calling their the fifty four cars. The all-star cars what they're calling it. Well i don't think tie gibbs was an all star before when he got in that seat but by guys he is now i race next vanity series. Chrissy gets the win and his emotion just after the race it was it. Was it just grad. That your heartstrings. Didn't it the only word. I thought at the end of that race unbelievable and it was unbelievable. Drive by targets in that monster. Energy should bro. I thought he did an amazing job. I'm at last restore when he through the derives out there was no way he was going out of that clean. I thought he was going to destroy the front end of his his car but he came out of it and he was able to get the lead and hang onto it and and if he's got he's got big shoes to fill the rest of the season trying to duplicate what he did in the fourteen razors over announced today but If if he's able to go out and come out and be as Stars was it the general recourse the rest of the guys that are running for kim chip may be in trouble innate. As you look at it you know the emotion that goes with that. You know that. Joe gibbs had to be filled with unbelievable emotion watching that but but the run by thai gibbs luke. No it really wasn't bread and Tonight or is point that the team announced today that he's gonna run fourteen more expanding races. I mean now you wonder. Like how many more could he possibly win. At this rate that he could get into an expenditure for the first time on a road course which we know is not the type of track that he grew up on that any of these guys grew up on and much christopher bell in the cup race. Keeping up with chase elliott. The fact that tie gives was able to keep pace with guys like austin syndrich whose car was damaged but obviously has a huge wealth of of road racing experience and gibbs them honest and pretty much beat them in a straight fight toward the end. And i certainly did not expect that i thought for sure tie gibbs would fade. And what's really interesting to me about this and we've seen how good chase elliott has been since he got that first cup victory at watkins glen But the fact that we we have these first time winners like. Chris rebelled image on a road. Course todd gibbs the course chase elliott watkins glen. It's fascinating to me that that's where guys are getting their first victories. Because you'd expect it would happen again. Chris rebellious think like bristol dirt race. He's got so much experience running usak and open wheel cars at the chili bowl. Dirt races outlaws racism. Those types of things around the country But yet he goes to a road course. That's more well known for sports cars the rolex twenty four and winds beats cup drivers that that's where guys are getting their first win. I think it's probably speaks to. How much simulation and simulator driving now is really. I think changing the game and allowing these guys to really latin that learning curve and get up to speed quickly in a chris chris. I think that there was part of it was redemption for targets after what happened in the original deform. The daytona oval. He he got a lot of you. Know flashback on his comments following racer on the oval word he spent to be contender. It was thought he was going to be a contender to win and then sort of ran in a lot of backlash backlash from fans and and other drivers jamie drivers along the light so i think there was a sense of not only determination from that he was going to out walter and redeem himself. Not only as a driver but You know as a spokesperson for jobs issue but obviously walter and also proved that he he's capable of getting these cars no matter what of circuit he drives you. Go up there. And women. I think is experienced but of course last year in an art series was a huge benefactor for him on saturday. Well that's something that nate. These guys are all learning. I think as we go. You know i mean you know early and chase elliott's cup career. I think a lot of critical the fact that he was so hard on himself it despite however however well he ran if he finished second or third it was like he was beating himself up instead of going. Hey i learned a lot today. We had a little steps forward. You know it was all beat himself up. And that's part of the learning curve for these young guys. Yeah and i think also the fact that there's no there are no more throwaway races really in cup where i think road courses used to be something the guys who can really work on as nearly as much as they do now and we all. We talked about already. How important road courses are going to be to the championship pitcher this year in the cup series and so i think the guys like rebel guys like tie gibbs or mindful of that probably going in that. They're going to need to be even better than they already had to be. Acclimating to to these tracks. Not that they are. Were already taking it seriously. But now i heard interview joe gibbs this week in which he was trying to tell tie gifts hey rest a little bit because he was worried he was spending almost too much time in the simulator likely. Wake up at four in the morning and drive until a workout and then he go to like Up to the simulator in salisbury. And we're very then come back and run more on his own personal simulator at home and again. I think it speaks to the commitment. The drive that you have to have right now to to break through and be a top level nascar driver either that or youthful energy one of the other. I don't think the throat when they talk about roy races in customer is they're they're they're throwaway races anymore finnity and trump's either because they've added a wealth of resources to the scheduled into an even the trumpster sexier schedule as well. So you know used to be you can slide by could be happy. Walk off rope horse navy without twenty finished. But i think if you're going to have a shot at the championship picture or a playoff picture. She's in any of these types of serious. You're going to have to come on with a shock to win or if not top. Finish it chris. There's an old saying you know. There's no there's no greater burden than high expectations and so now that you've got tie gibbs winning his first race next finnity series. They've now added fourteen more raises to a schedule. Do they high expectations now work against him. I think that there's i don't know if it's so much. Experts expectations pressured. I think there's gonna be a lot of pressure on ideas and i think most partial come from don gibson. So i think he's capable of handling that pressure but he's gonna be put in circumstances throughout the season that he's maybe uncle or maybe on challenge or never had to deal with that before.

"Action but it did tighten up the field and give other people opportunities and it kinda brought joy lugano back into the picture and he said he had a fifth place car that they almost won the race with and brunt christopher bill back into action chris yeah it brought the players that picture i thought washington shot third so he Yellow to rest of their intern. Five and wonder what father race where you want to go back to what i said. I think it has a huge point that nassar needs to. They have an opportunity to either changes. Leave it alone. And i think as we get more and more aggressive forces summer months in our resources on a schedule and i think that at a certain point nascar needs to realize. Hey we're either. We're to either leave the rule alone and let it stand as is a has the last several years or we're gonna make an adjustment stay and do midseason and let them know that they're gonna they're going to throw that option out there. The the teams get to make the decision on their own. And i think that they usually consider. That's especially when we go to places like americans america's and even the indianapolis wairoa course which those places are prone to rain especially during the summer months. And i think that. But i was just going to add the bread. I think the way nascar looks throwing local yellows. I think also ties into this too yellows during the race at daytona where one lap or two laps offer debris and i understand that nascar is a little bit hesitant to use local yellows and tell people. Hey you can't pass here for our cleaning things up on the track that they want to ensure again that everything safe and bring out their state vehicles and address that. But i i think that is something to look up. I mean to your point like it did enhance The drama that point certainly wasn't equal to what happened afterward and they got a first time when christopher bell and it's not to take anything away from him by the way i mean that he was able to keep pace with chase elliott who clearly had the fastest car once again clearly. The best right now. On nascar road courses use testament christopher bills ability and the way he ran down the when past him nascar are still ended up with a really nice terrific storyline. Coming out of that wrist one thing. That's good chris. I just think it's it is. Christopher get a bell going to be jas elliot's new challenger in the cup series and chase skull and chase. I was excelled as roku is lowest so once he gets his comfort zone. I think chase elliott may have some company later this season on the rope horses after what we saw real quickly guys before we take a break after what we saw over the two weeks that they tone would you guys be in favor of daytona and other tracks going more to the artificial turf and the infield especially on the front stretch infield like they have at charlotte motor speedway. Were because we saw so many cars slide through that infield area especially on the road course races and just tariffs splitters whereas that you know. Charlotte has eliminated that by kind of keeping the ground at the same level. Yeah i think that it's just a case of spending money. But i think should make this investment soon as they possibly can wherever they can. I think you're right. I think we've seen to many instances in which cars have been damaged by especially when the grass gets wet and they slide through there. And we've seen you know all applause to charlotte motor speedway and marcus smith and his team for Having the wherewithal to put that down there. And i think it's a lot like safer barriers. Unfortunately it took a lot of push to get tracks to put up safer barriers everywhere and that was because it's used investment and i don't think did the artificial turf type services are quite that same level investment a safer barrier. But i think like they should look at it. The same reasons In terms of competitive and safety initiatives here and they should really look at trying to put some capital toward making those improvements. Chris about you. I agree with one hundred percent i think. A lot of teams and drivers will be particularly happy If they made that investment because we just continue to see we saw it was a problem during the horse races. And we also saw probably after rain during you know In the in the During speaks you know with the especially in the extended race in particular where we saw guys get into rational for actually destroy drivers at wanted to continue the race in parliament and the race but since they were stuck in the in the in the in the grass at the races were done when we come back one. Talk to these guys about now having back to back first time winners first time. Nineteen fifty. Nascar has started the season with back to back. First time winners. Could it happen. "The performance racing network presented by o'reilly autoparts. Your professional parts people. Now here's your host brett mcmillan. Glad to have you with us date crissier as well and You know the instinct tournaments coming up. Shortly in terms of the instantly tournament your bracket may already busted the first time winters michael mcdowell and also christopher bell and i tell you chris night. I don't know that a lot of people expected i. I know that. A lot of people to expect. Biskupic the win this year. Christopher bell maybe but certainly not this early in the season is certainly not at the daytona road. Course i don't think many people expected christopher bill sneaking there when the second race season about how that that's great news the pressures offers for bill. I think a lot of people expected christopher bell the applause part of the playoff picture for him to our have a win so early in the season is redemption. Not only for christopher bill after what he called a not fund two thousand twenty season. but also. What about evan stevens. Getting a win. Christopher bill so early into the season i i was not personally surprised The secrets for real. It's early on. But i think it was released a lot. People joe gibbs racing. I think a lot of people probably saw christopher bells a guy that could win a race this year especially in that twenty car. Joe gibbs racing with adam stevens crew chief but i don't think this is the one that they pointed out and said l. This is the this week. Expect him to win now. It was a surprise firm perspective. Brian and denny hamlin said it. Well if you're an industry member probably ninety five percent of the people you have been pulling within the no would have said. Christopher bell makes the playoffs. But i don't think anybody would have expected that he was gonna do it. In the first two races of the season i had cbo tarred on the nascar. Nbc podcast this week and he had the dirt race of bristol pencil. Dennis christopher bell win so we had built winning. Make the playoffs. But i don't think anybody saw him or tie gibbs his racing teammate. Winning the expand. Erase this past weekend The deter national speedway road course so surprises abound daytona. Yeah absolutely not only on the big track for the five hundred but also in the road courses. Well you talk about what happened there you know. I mean to me chris. You're looking at the way this race started and for about two thirds of the race. It was business as usual. Chase elliott running away with the road course race stink up the show pretty much but then all it took was one caution that one caution when the rain shower kind of blew past the backstretch that one ranch are brought out the caution and it just turned the whole thing. Upside down did it. And that's all you need right. How many times it be seen that or that one. Caution determines or changes in question. The racing determines a completely different outcome minutes. I i know that a lot of co nascar nation. It seemed like they were upset about it on social media. But i thought that nasty the right thing might be needed especially since they all the rule book in the robots clearly states that if if the track is wet they deem that they need to Allow the teams to have an opportunity. Could west or the caution. So i think nascar did everything right yet. He's the question of the race in yes it produces. It produces a surprise to vote for but nascar did everything right in their boats. And i stand behind it. You agree nate rulebook. Chris is not wrong there. I don't think that's the question. I think the question is. This is the ruler. Good rule and in this case. I don't think minutes on a sense. And i think that's why you had the pushback from the fan base and from people who are accustomed to seeing road racing in other series where when rain hits road racing other series it's viewed as an equalizer. It's used if you dynamic event and it isn't in a nascar race because per the rule book is chris They throw the yellow and allow teams to have the option to change the rain tires while the problem in this instance was even if that section of the track which i think was interred six had gotten a little bit damp. It wasn't near the point where it was going to require teams to switch so nascar. Throw the yellow. No-one changes rain. Tahrir tires justifiably because there was gonna be no advantage to putting on what other tires at that point and you end up with. Chase elliott the dominant car. The rate is he had a slow day in the pit so it could have been any other. Yellow flag could have affected the the race way but unfortunately the way transpired was nascar stepping in and affecting the rhythm of the race With with this caution flag. I if it had happened through a natural caution so to speak it easier for people stomach but the way that it just totally turned the race on its head for the final fifteen laps I think it was unfortunate. And i think it's something that nascar should take a look at tweaking that rule in the future especially with six more road course races this year but not in a. We'd never sorry. go ahead. never seen that. We'd never seen that rhythm. Really come into place in the upstairs. Right eight hundred. We've had wet weather. Issues is always been infinity or two truck series really the rain of the first time on the road. Force the specially-converted. Tonight that will run by. Ben rhodes so. I think there would have been a lot of pushback to say per se if it happened. When you're talking to the top enchilada of nas. Forget there's gonna be some pushback. And i do agree with that. I think that you know. Should they have japan for the caution. You had they from the throne for the robot but did they need to throw the caution. I guess that remains a question. And i was at daytona and i did hear the the you know the nascar spotters checking with them. Continuously and the nascar sputtered did say that the rain was picking up in the section of the course where the rain was coming down in. That was the reason that there's an option But but here nor there that at rain shower was gone. In sixty seconds.

"Salt lake city from salt lake city and from los angeles california today is But it's the next podcast comes out but back jacker. Not here wasn't such a good rate. And i love that. You know that interest so well and it makes me so happy when i hear you do that so things anyway. I is a perfect day. I record the podcast. Because i've been quarantining in salt lake all week and we've been apart for the first time realistically for like a couple of nights of sleep since the pandemic started and we used to spend almost all the time part and now we've been together for like nine months so this is the perfect time. 'cause i actually no offense. I really miss you. I've had a chance to miss you a little bit so i thought this is a good time to do this. Why would you say offense while the defense budget like. I don't miss you. I don't miss you together all the time. Let's normal get sick of you. But i'm like i could use some alone time. You know for sure. So it just like delhi pardons famous words to you right yeah Don't spend the secret to a good marriage is don't spend too much time together. Yep there is a paraphrase. I wasn't there so i'm just saying roughly. That's maybe what was and so. I don't know if you know this but the last time you on the podcast. I think it was like around the beginning of the pandemic like nine months ago. Yeah that's right. We had a ton of feedback and people were like. It's the most kelty thing of all time that you made the chris episode of the podcast about kelsey. Because all i did was ask you about how you felt about me. I don't know what it is so this time. We have to learn about chris night. But i did that. I want to just say. I did that out of respect for you and i was protecting you because i know you didn't want to talk about yourself so i just stepped up and became a star of the room because i know you just want to be in the side watching. Well no listen. I just think that you're very good at what you do. And this whole thing is where you shine. It's not really where i shine. No disrespect to me. But you know we're gonna make a good podcast. I'll let the people who know how to make a good podcast lead. But what i think is so cute. We're doing this on zoom right now in crisis so tall. Zoom cut knows in his mouth. Can you move your camera a little bit. sorry. I'd like to see your face so guarding. Yeah so i guess my first thing is. Can you tell the late game viewers about yourself like where you grew up and what you're like as a kid and all okay so i was born in san diego but when my family when i was little my family moved to los angeles when we were young. That was maybe three or four somewhere in that range But i spent summers with my grandma. In san diego maybe thirteen or fourteen or so And that was like really great memories because we went to sea world in the morning would go and play with the penguins. Played with the pangalos is not actually true to watch. I was kind of like a normal routine. We go every morning we go to seaworld and hang out for a little bit and come on the afternoon. They go swimming and go to the beach. Bonfire on the harbour there San diego has very fond memories for me and you started your first bandwagon. Who when was the hiccups. Oh man that's a good story so it wasn't. There was stuff. Before that as well so my grandmother by fraternal grandmother gave a different so again. A grandmother gave me. Can't remember twenty five or fifty dollars or something for christmas once and i took that money. It wasn't enough to get a like by your tar but i could rent it guitar for it and went to the local qatar shop and they loaded to me for like five bucks a week or seven fifty week or something like that and i rented this acoustic guitar and then my parents got me lessons. So they're like taking week for lessons. And i was like trying to learn these ridiculously heavy rock songs acoustic guitar into me. Because you knew eventually in your life if you played crashing a party get laid no. I did try to learn any day. Matthews qatar juju was trying to teach me like blackbird. And things like that. I think i did learn it. But like i want to play. I think i made them teach away. Probably yeah like like punk rock songs. And he wasn't that impressed but anyway so we did that for a while and then a couple of buddies got together and we start practicing in by garage. What we all play guitar goes well where we tried to start a band anyway. I think the ban was called free knowledge because our geometry teacher. Mr horowitz who is god bless a great soul horrible match or not a single person in the class knew what was going on but there was a sign in our math. Classes free knowledge. And so we're like all that so punk rock coffee knowledge and so we were called that for a little bit By the time we actually got a band together with like a real drummer a real players and stuff i think we eventually recalled inside out and then there was another band called incidents with to change her name and that's win are decide which is called the hiccups so we did. That was probably by junior year of high school somewhere their courage and then. When did your being a musician start helping you with the ladies to be honest like it didn't really tough. I was thinking about the other day like when you were talking about it. I was like did it really benefit me. I don't i don't know if it did. I didn't really take advantage of it in that way. Not that i should have. But you know what i mean like. It didn't really. I was either too naive. I didn't really realize what was happening. Or maybe the power had been knows musician. Whatever so we've recently. I've been telling all of the ladies we've recently had all of our home. Movies moved to this site. And so we've been watching some of these old movies so then you're in this band lemon sun and you guys actually got signed and then like played concerts open for the killers and like i can watch chris. I'm like oh my god you man playing be smith what. Tell me that story. yeah so we. We started so the singer been basically the same down with elite. Sing since we were kids right and we had a bunch of different projects. Knowledge about the hiccups had some other things. We had an acoustic record that we made it in his bedroom. Where we like tapped cans with sticks and weird shit was really but that was just fun. We're trying to figure out what we're doing and how to become a real musician. Because we were we were all self taught nearly not doing so for figuring it out as we went and then we wanted. We knew the sound of what we wanted to do. We didn't have the other players mine and so we found a drummer who is a friend of mine. Who had been working with on some other projects in the studio. We went to his studio. We paid him on a couple of hundred bucks us studio recording drums and then we built the songs around that drum. Take that we had and that was what became limit son so from what we had the drums then spent the next three months like working away. Tirelessly on these five songs and a little like office space slash rehearsal space in vernon california and there were some days. We'd get there and there was like it was near at meat. packing plant..

If you want more ho, you're most likely create yourself as there has been one time that I hold up against what they can do it right? And forced to go up at all. I'm selling my old ride, you know, and they know that they don't even want to do it. They don't want to do a motorcycle and you don't want them doing. Yeah, absolutely. And make a lot of pull out. Get it done once. Very anybody. No, I totally agree, you know, and it should be illegal. Grace is in West Windsor under Jersey water 1.5. Hi, Grace. Iru Good. How you doing? Don't you think I don't want to tempt me and Gaz? You don't No. What about me? I would you be all right if somebody else bumped their own gas? Well, you got us problems for you. I don't think that would be a precedent that would work in New Jersey. Why? Because I think companies will make what you give them an inch. They'll take a mile. But have you made it the law that you have to have at least one person pumping gas 24 hours a day? Or you can open with that work for you. I think they'll raise the price. Why don't trust I don't trust you. No drugs there. And I don't trust the mall. It can be changed. Writes You don't trust.

My personal favorite Miguel and like seventy two other people that I don't know he is now the general manager head Bitch and charge at ROC nation. He loves to be tall. He has a great haircut. He has an infectious laughter. People would describe him as calm. Please welcome to the PODCAST. The love of my life. Christopher drew night the UN the UNNA Google everyone. Everyone thinks that I'm married to this country singer Chris Knight who is not cute by the way. There's him no he's fine but he's like not at Chris Knight Standard. And so everyone's always like. Is this your guy and I'm like you. Sorry Chris we don't mean to put you on the show. Bud Okay all right so I actually got mistaken for him once so I called a guy to do a deal and he's like Oh yeah I would love to mix your record. This is awesome. I'm really a big fan and I was like. Are you sure because this was like twenty years ago would never put anything out and so then you realize the real the real real Chris night and then he was not as excited? Yeah sorry about that. I do want to know about your start in the business but I want to know more about your opinion about me. Okay so what? Have you been up to you during lockdown whatever? It's actually been busier than I've probably been in a long time. I'm not sure exactly why I'm trying to figure I think everyone's trying to be a little bit extra and the and the business right now and trying to do more and trying to compensate and feel like they're doing something and you know people were never really doing livestream before. Now there's like seventy five livestream today just feels a little bit extra. It does feel extra. What's your favorite thing about lockdown? And what's your least favorite thing about block down my favorite thing about the lockdown or just said my good week is having dinner and spending time with you and the dog and that kind of stuff I feel like I I feel like I can work out and do some things otherwise it just be too exhausted to do you know set some boundaries where it's like okay. Eight thirty or nine saw taking calls and I think to love not driving of time I've spent in my day in traffic in La. Anyway that's so boring Okay what is what is the story of when you met me when I want you to tell you when you met me. Well I want you to tell the Celtics Chris. Falling in love story FROGGER perspective. Because I tell it and I want to hear it from your these. These girls have to me talk for five years about you so I want you to tell me your side in great detail not near Chris Knight Way. Thank you sorry Becca Jack. I don't just do it to you. Yeah no kidding Okay so I was working at a division of live nation which own ticketmaster at the time or it still does now and They were trying to work on some music news and have some like live contents online content to help promote shows and stuff and so the producer and I become the prisoner that division. I become friends and he called me one days. Hey I just heard this really hot girl to do the Music News. You should come down cool and I hung up the phone. I was like all the way down. And you know we're sort of talking going back and forth like waiting for Kelly who was talking to another dude to take a break and look up from the thing and like you know she wasn't. She was like focused on this binder of China like study and whatever and eventually like interrupting like. Hey how're you doing like Chris? And she's like okay hi and she just waved and then right back down to where thing so this is. I've been like this forever by the way like People Beckenham. Jack always get after me. Because they're like you're like greeting people's not great when focused on something. I can't even see anything else but anyway okay record you remember that time now so that happened and then I was like remember what I was wearing No not exactly but then I was like Oh this. Chick's really cute. And maybe I should get to know her and so then. I started stalking her line and she had high kicks. I hope something yeah. It's some sort of blog and had had these three pictures of at the top. I think you were wearing like a western shirt or something in them talking about anyway. You had this website. It was like manage AAA cute and I started reading. Some of the post has like Damn she's got a boyfriend and so then I just kind of lay low. Chill say anything about it for a little while and then we were together at a festival south by southwest and Austin and you were there and I don't remember what I was there with some acts whatever but I came over and I said low to party and you're like high and then that was it I met you before. No no I just I said how are you doing or maybe I did. But it wasn't a very long conversation Very Short Sean. Hey how you doin' remember you at all being there. Thank slowest like a super super traumatic trip for me and like many ways and I think I was like kind of drunk and also working at the same time as the very beginning of my career working. I hardly working for show but I don't remember meeting you at all but that's the thing it's like you're so tall you think I would anyway. Okay so I don't remember meeting then. So then what over to right away from Austin? You went back to la in your like. This chick is not into me. But that's funny. I didn't think you were not not into me. I just felt like you had a boyfriend. He's probably were not paying attention. That's so southwest. Now your blog posts hinted otherwise. Whatever I wonder what all my followers to know. What a dumpster fire. My life was okay. That's riveting And so then I was having a birthday party and I said to that saint producer who had bet guilty through the first time was like. Hey we invite some people out who do you. Who Do you know he's like Oh and by Kelty and somebody else? So Celtic came to the party with her friend. Yes and this is the part that I don't remember but allegedly has. The story goes that I had two women one on each arm and I came across the room or whatever I was like. Oh He Kelty roic allegedly allegedly and I was like hey sorry about your job and so what had happened was they shut down. The entire division kilty was working ad but no one had told Kelty so basically. I was the one who sort of say. Hey by the way you're fired. Yeah but the good news is that she remember who I was then now that she knows who she message me on facebook a few days later like liked me or sort of became friends would ever is like. Oh yes this is. This is great. That's like Mitch Remembers me. She sent me the some sort of like whatever poke fucking with and so then. I wrote her message on facebook and I was like. Hey I want to take you out. I WANNA call you get your number and then you wrote back and give you a number that I called you. And we were talking for a few minutes so rather nowhere. You're like hey I gotta go print something I gotta go by and I was like wait. I want to ask you about your like okay. Cool I call you and then a few days go by and then you call me back with you. Yeah I had to print something. Did you urge you to print it up? I was probably like on doing emails while talking to you. You know how I live my life. I'm not good at the focus. So then you ask me out and I said yes. It's true and you plan to date for us. Yeah we went to a place called St. Which now does no longer and we had food. There was Super Way to Foodie for Andrew's basically only eating like peanut butter toast and Mac and cheese for the things. My next question is you know we all have our characters on the lady gang and I think I think mine is pretty who how I am but from a from a husband's perspective. What is it like to be married and live with? K. Type the queen of if you call yourself K. TYPE. Yeah I thought you had like a like a little Zany name or something Little Sandy. Jack has she the sandwiches. I don't remember mine little. Oh I don't remember who to Jack was little. Sammy I think so no. I don't remember so the thing about living with Kelty is that she's she's like super extra and then she just chill and then there's nothing like introversion in quite unsure which is great because it turns out that she's always entertaining right like there's never a day that goes by. That are not entertained by either by something silly that she does or just sort of joking household. It's like ten percent something always goes wrong for Kelty and is like ten percent harder for her than everyone else like. It could be the most mundane thing. Try and pull out your socks and the whole joy fall out or you'll put one sock. That's pink into the white. You know load of laundry or whatever it is. Everything is a little bit harder for you. I'm not sure that it's actually harder or that. You're not paying attention like I still have deduced. What exactly it is my friend. Jeff said to me once that I am like a tornado. I said my technology like my phones. Computers they never last very long. Because you're super hard on stuff and I was like what do you mean he's like you live your life like a tornado and you just think plow over anything in your path. Would you're on your ambition? Absolutely I would say that. So so what else is it like? How do I entertain you? Well recently? You've been getting take talks. So there's been a few talk dance learning sessions. That are sort of a shame that last night we looked at a bunch of people. And then you try to do some yes so last night. We're looking at videos and then we saw this really good dancer and I was like. He's only three turns. It's not that hard turns out who's doing six but Then I got up in my pajamas with all my weave in and tried to show him that I could do returns and I only really did a double. I mean I used to be able to do six and my heyday but also like I haven't danced in a decade so the fact that I can still a clean double is something no shade. It's more than I could do. So it's all good. Yeah no it's fine. Am I as crazy as the girls? Make me out to be? Yes.

"They're liars do you wash your legs? Well I wash crack I'll wash your leg. It's not your leg. And then I, I watched my belly if you do your leg, and then I washed, the bottom of my feet, not y'all. Also, not your legs. Okay. But then I know I don't watch don't they do take time if I have some residual so. Like you acted very like thinking about myself showering, but you're not like targeting your legs. No, no. I'm not like oh shit. I gotta get back in the shower. I forgot my leg like how ones legs getting specifically wash that I read somewhere that like water without soap it can kill like a very large percentage of germs. Yeah. Well, I don't believe that it's true. That's gross. Also true science. Chris Knight who makes me shower with a bucket. A message for you. Chris is that maybe you do need to wash your legs at that bucket water. No. But my thing is like Chris, so tall, and his legs are side ginormous. Why are you wasting valuable water washing your legs? I mean you told me about the bucket like it collects the rest of the water. Like what, how does this work? Okay. So, you know, when you first turn your shower on and using a bucket, and your other shower, there's luck it in there. I would never make use of bucket o. So as it's heating as it's heating up, there's a bucket under it. And so you don't actually put a sponge in there and give yourself a sponge bath, that's what I picked after the showers over and like all the plants with the bucket water or you put it down the drain into our rainwater collector, and then we water, the plants downstairs with the gray water. And then the problem was is the green the gray water, the nuts dot gray water. Great waters poop Potter. But the re the shower water went into my water collection module downstairs, and then it standing water, and then I had a mosquito infested. So I had to kill all that water and the mosquitoes, I've started again. This is thrilling. Okay. We're gonna take a quick break, but don't go anywhere, because this is a fun break..

The grandfather father and son had been walking through the woods when they spotted a man in the distance far off the trail man, one spotted didn't speak in the father and son grew tents. The grandfather an old Frenchman stayed calm. He said that must be the hermit who lives in the woods. All we need to do is leave him alone. In the yelled through the trees. So the hermit could here. Don't worry. We swear to tell no one we saw you will keep your secret. The hermit paused and looked at them. "Ridiculous aspirations, and I couldn't disagree with most of it. So Mike was pleasantly surprised when after his release all the counselors and court officials said the Chris was doing really well showing up at court dates getting part time job at his brother's business attending to his family, a model parolee, Mike even went to visit him at his family's home in central. Maine. He says when he got there when Chris greeted him. He looked like a totally normal guy baseball cap work, boots member of society. And night. Indicated with his hand to come follow him. It's like give me a very welcoming gesture which was. Extremely surprising. And we stood under this tree. Pretty close to each other didn't touch each other. And we had the most. In fact, the only.
