It probably is about a half a foot wingspan. Maybe 10 inches wingspan like that's how big is that big for a bat? I don't know. No 10 inches. Yes, Yes, I'm thinking yes, but I don't know, like a large seem large to me. Yes. This thing that I like it was trying to ask, you know, ask my Why are you sure it wasn't a moth like Wow, Am I the biggest jerk ever? Give Windows Open Clearly. What's that? You have a window open? I do. There's a screen on it, though. So that's not how it got in to know. It definitely did not get into living That way. It's been, You know, it's an old house. There's You know, it could be, you know, in in the roof, you know in the you know, somewhere in these crawl spaces. Um, I'm sure you know, I would sure like I'm an expert. I would guess that's where it's been. And it got out from there and now probably would wishes it was back because I hit it with a strainer. Well, Do you want to check now? Or because we have to go to a break? Yeah. You want to go to the break and then give us the update, or do you want to just go check? I want. I think I'm gonna go downstairs to get some more materials. Like something to put the bad in. Should it be deceased? Or something to put over the bat. If it's just lying there, and I don't know if it's deceased, and at least like then I can update you on so Yeah, I don't know. I'm in trouble because I might have killed the bat. I can't. I mean, you're not in trouble with me. Yeah, Okay. But ah, Like I said, I don't know. Maybe that's not the thing kind of it's probably not the best way to handle it. But you know, in a moment A moment of panic. You know, your defenses came to you and you just whacked it. Yep. All right, well, stay tuned to find out 80305 50. "Well, you know I had this idea many years ago that rich Eisen fell in love with that afloat with you guys which. Is you're talking about the interception with the Rams and how every person I knew who saw the replay of that? It looked like a catch look like he hit the ground looked like the rams player wrestled away those calls they're made all the time. There's sort of fifty fifty balls and then the tie goes to the runner it's like the tight on. The guy caught up all know. And then you you said, well, they want to New York and they had the head coach and they had the wrath and they had the equipment manager and it's like maybe they know too much. Maybe they you know sometimes you know too much like. You're you're Michelin rated chef and you can enjoy the meal anymore. You know much and this is where my idea came in. because. My feeling was always I didn't like it when they would go under the hood and go not enough to overturn the call made on the field. My feeling was always like you made a bad call and this is not enough to undo your bad call should start from neutral. We should start from what is it did he catch it or not? So you know right and that's when I floated this idea each stadium comes with the replay gamp he gets pulled out of the basement. He's in full leather he's being flogged by his handler. He doesn't know the teams he doesn't know what day it is. He's disoriented. The sunlight is burning his is and we just show him. We go to that guy, catch the ball or not catchable he's reading in. Hundreds of years of experience and what he knows and his team that he hits just all he knows is this video that's in front of him, and then the replay game goes right back down into the bowels of the stadium were Philadelphia keeps its prison, and that's where they as they go and it'd be great for the crowd because he has his handler you noticed handlers pulling them out by the chain and when he makes a call that goes against the hometown that he starts flogging Mrs pulling him back if he's driving and back. DONNCHA KENNEDY BLOOD BUDDING UFC to officiate. Little Tarintino. It has. You Mike for the he said before like five people want to get a sports bar say he caught the ball right at the sound again saying, right? That's somebody who wagered that gave or had it. Then it's a catch at you're right about the over a now the Dow was of the it's. Row assist by over analysis or something like that, and in this case, the official in you can both of you could relate when you see something live you know we're watching and then they replayed in slow it down there was a Katcha. Stefan. Digs at a low throw caught it at the ran into the end zone touchdown cleared us. We saw we saw two different angles on the third angle showed the. Ball touch the ground, used the ground to catch it and obviously scoring plate was reviewed and show the new term is either it stands or it's overturned try to adjust some of the terminology but I I do think seeing things live and then replay and they knew they were going into this world. It has changed the the amount of used the way look at things but that's where the the passenger ferrets. Shoving a guy he shoving back I mean that's football you got. You GotTa let them play but the yeah, the. Call the unknown, the unknown comic we can have the the unknown official out. Again. Every stadium has their arts. Every state has their own and you know the rams, we Kinda do him up and we kinda out a little l. a look maybe bedazzle. FIT and we're skin May. has as a another look to their replay. It's a regional. Like the officials. Yeah. I would say that obviously the camp is anonymous, we don't know who the camp is the. Stadium but attack, but the handler becomes a big star. The handler becomes like the girlfriend of the professional wrestler, the hot chick walking out. Front. He doesn't have to be lady, but you know what? You know what I'm saying you really got you really got going here Yeah Sarah Terror Tito could run with this. Yeah his movies. Ever see rich. Bringing a ring girl comes out and with the sign that just says time and time again, God knows. It stands or it's overturn. But the person could be over it. So that would be seventy. And it would be the purest form of refereeing because this person wouldn't even understand the game of football they have no idea. It's always the sequestered jury impartial right your head and you're not even watching the game they bring about catcher no catch. Did He push him? Did he did he? You know? "Gina Grand Oh I was hoping you'd say that because we have some hot hot hot Gwyneth paltrow naked news she went to instagram on Sunday to announce that it was birthday and to do a little light pedaling for her group. That's related Michael God bless Ya get ones kit off and it's a term from the UK to remove close take off all your clothes your thank you for that. Michael. Is it like do you guys feel that way with Chelsea handler? She's constantly like going. I'm going to talk about something. Is it a worthy cause just kind of drawing focus. I mean, didn't the Kardashians kick the door down so hard that we really can't judge anyone for taking their clothes off and selling a product. Say what it was for two. That's one thing. But. Don't we expect this out of the Kardashians satis slightly higher bar for. Others this isn't the first time. He's done it ready. Eagle. Left. No. No, I just mean like I don't know what do you guys to me? It feels like narcissistic like a look at. So I'm getting naked devotion. Whatever will live and die on whatever the words are but I mean and maybe I'm jealous but I don't know do we like her don't we like her do you know her? Genuine hard to say Mike, what do you think heightened the the only time I've been in her presence was years ago in New York City when she was dating Brad hit and she was just kind of becoming a huge star and I remember my friend knew her and had a crush on her and then she shows up with Brad Pitt and he's like oh see. This is not going to happen at all I. Don't really have an opinion on her. A, particularly, I will say that we have one of cookbooks in my house and Exploit I will say my wife has several group GOOP products and they're all pretty great. She does not. "You. Know it's funny. I bet if trump. Like Zuckerberg is really rich, right? He's really rich some multi-billionaire. Yes, and he's a flip flop cargo short kind of guy you know what I mean. I trump is doing an impersonation of a rich guy. I bet if he was that rich, he would I always look at everything is kind of a psychological thing like when you are really that rich, I would bet if you pick the ten richest people on the planet, they're they're rounding it down in terms of how they dress the crowd they move with like trump is doing an eighties. Farcical. Caricature of a rich person. Yeah. It's John. Mullany has no joke about that saying that he's what Hobos idea of Richmond as. Get John Mullany Heaven Old Joe, twenty three and a half. Years ago. People with children, right? Right. That's it's like it. It's like it's like the women who are female female impersonators like is what a woman would look like if they were trying to be a beautiful woman worse that always to truly beautiful women. Are. The ones wearing the jeans with no makeup like Eugenie Grand. Thank you. It was an interview with him with Rona Barrett if you remember her front. Oh. Yeah. We're they were talking about is like financial problems in like the eighties and she was like, what would you do if you ever went broke and I think he said I would run for President Wow Rona Barrett. Today. Rona Barrett had bad hair even by eighty standards to look up now because I remember what she looks like she was just one of those. She was kind of one of those women I remember when I was young thinking. Am I really that attracted to women I don't know. And she wasn't even ugly. She was sort of unappealing and very eighties way she had like eighties hair didn't have very services creamy I'm looking I'm looking at images her of her. Own By. Or the she had she had a unique look we're looking at about him I would normally never should on your points, but when you dismiss my Ascertain. People. There, are still people who think trump's a successful businessman you locked inside. We figured out according to politico poll a majority fifty, four percent of respondents voters said, they think trump has been successful in business eighty, five percent of Republicans. Say Trump has been successful while only ten percent of Culligan said that he has been unsuccessful. So some people need some convincing well I. think baby there's had enough there's a we should draw distinction between rich and successful. He seems successful I don't know if you can be successful without being rich. But you know not. Like. A real estate developer I would imagine but the problem is. The TV show possibly in the presidency like the TV show was a very successful TV show. So people think of that as successful and then. Too many buildings with his name on it. I don't know I feel I don't, and also I don't i. don't know like I. Don't know I don't know what the news is. Anymore. I don't know if the guy's successful are not successful. I know he's not Zuckerberg he's something right i. mean he's what he claims. He is as I miss I read the whole article. This is something I learned I didn't know this he's the minority owner and a lot of those buildings like he owns like thirty percents. Wish my dad did whatever he did financially that's basically what I'm saying maybe maybe the bars too low for me maybe maybe may coming from North Hollywood poor. yes I. Yeah. So it's interesting unsuccessful versus successful. And then. He's made hundreds and. Hundreds of millions of dollars. No doubt. But if network philosophical question against net worth is underwater. Are you successful? Well, I guess if you die before having to pay everyone back. Out If, you're if you're if you're main mode of transportation when you're destitute is a helicopter. Then I guess you gain the system at that point right? Like baby fucking cheated the system and maybe. It is it is a one. It's a weird thing. It's like when Mike Tyson would be bankrupt but he would still own tigers stain penthouse than what? What is that mean Michael Jackson or Michael Michael Jackson he's bankrupt. He's bought another earn on a shopping spree. Here's this thousand Acre House. He's sporting another roller coaster. He's going on shopping spree treason by antiquities like but he's broke. Yeah. I don't know how that works. All right. What do we got? Well, it's time to honor someone or something depending on how you look at it. Who's been very, very helpful. One Small Mammal is responsible for helping clear undetonated landmines out of more than thirty five acres of land in Cambodia and he's now been awarded a medal commemorating the achievement everybody meet Mugabe, a giant you still alive. Yes. Look at that. Little, Sweetie Pie. Was awarded a civilian award for animal bravery by the People's dispensary for sick. Animals on September twenty fifth. That's the charities highest civilian honor and according to the AP into the George Cross which is an award to British civilians or soldiers who perform acts of greatness or heroism. He's wearing a little metal in the past five years. McGowan has found thirty nine mines and Twenty eight items of unexploded ordinance clearing more than one. Hundred Forty one thousand square meters of land and making the area safe for local communities. His official job is hero rat and a Belgian organization a trains rats to find land mines. It's estimated that four to six million landmines were laid in Cambodia since the nineteen seventies with at least three million still unaccounted for these sniff some out and he light he doesn't detonate them. Is that a rat? It looked big rat the giant. pouched rat. That's what it's called. Ben A nutria. Wow, good I I, like all this shit. You know me get the dogs sniffing out venereal diseases, get the rats finding the landmines. I Got Lady Di cleared all the land mines back in the nineties but that could. Could have just been a photo op I duNno speak ill dad but I thought she. Basically cheated. All right. Good. Body weight doesn't trigger. The minds is not why I think. So because they like a dog would be too heavy but rats consumed out really well, and they're they're compact. Yeah and you want that in my mind going off every time a bird lands that's not good killing. You know what I mean have to have the right weight. It's kind of interesting. Yeah I talked to Dan, crenshaw who obviously had the mind go off and blew up and that's how he lost his eye. And that whole mine world is weird and scary and dicey like how they're some are activated you know from. Some are people watching it. Some are like triggered some they pick them up and move them. You know some of them they go off on batteries you know. So it's like the battery where out not these minds but like the more modern ones, the improvised ones that in some of the conflicts we've been in over the last few years you know they'll go out and take the batteries out during the downtime and then when the helicopter coming in and they'll go plug him, run out and plug him back in. It's like. yuck mind. was his job to clear mines or it was just. One, just went off now he was a navy seal, his guys landed. They would be mindful pardon the Pun of like when the best time to travel and walk the roads and stuff were you know like if you're gonNA walk a road, you go in a straight line one behind each other not good if you're ambushed but good for not stepping on mines and his translator who was a couple of feet in front of him stepped on the mine was. I think he lost all four of his limbs and then died and meanwhile Dan got hit the bunch of shrapnel sort of just behind the Guy Adam. That's all well and good. But I like to remind you because it seems like you've forgotten that there are people at the. Ellen. Degeneres show who were talked down to that was a toxic environment. Yeah. Yeah. So Some of it's kind of a one to one comparison lot lot of sandwiches not a lot of hot meals only only only hot meals for Friday. Some yeah I know it's tough. It was a toxic environment, toxic work environment yet go walk around with the the Navy seals and look out for minds and snipers with somebody on the Jenner she comparing themselves to a ranch Tomlinson now that was. That was me doing it humor. Just. Saying everyone is like we have this thing where it's like a toxic work environment and like you get free food and air conditioning. Go back historically toxic work environments were actually toxic. There's like fumes. There's lead. Like. I I've been on a few sets and I like people to be in a.

"Said that they want policy change I wanNA see policy change and we have seen it on a call last week with the with the League and Roger Goodell and a quarter billion dollars that they have put towards these players in the players who've been the feet on the street like Doug Baldwin who went out there and I think there's been eight different policy changes. To the judicial system or to legislation not the judicial system to legislation to policy within departments and communities around the country there's already been eight different different pieces of legislation written and they wanna see more and that's what I want. That's what I- clamor for my. That's where I of listened to this and I love that it's not just been word. It's been deed that you've been out there actively in those communities I think the seahawks Doug Baldwin did a beautiful job of that years ago in the way they handle that in and in went into communities and have built community centers went into the police departments and tried to to learn and then initiate some change in the League is behind that I'll I'll I'll agree with you but also say that I think that none of that happens if it weren't, for Colin, Kaepernick getting the start. That that while you may be right he he may not have had the the clear messaging or policy recommendations that we've seen here in the last couple of weeks. I don't the new stuff happens without what he did starting the ball rolling knocking people off of their spot forcing this to be a conversation which I think was his goal. You're gonNA talk about this. Whether whether I can tell you everything I want you to do or not. You're GonNa talk about this because I'm going to sit there and protest during the national anthem. And while that's going to get all kinds of criticism and did it did get people talking and it did get the ball rolling and a couple of years later in the grand scheme of things not that much longer later we're sitting here watching what I think is just a remarkable series of events with the Baltimore Ravens you know with the video they put out in these specific policy things. We would like the majority leader to address like you've seen some really impressive I don't think any of that happens if Colin Kaepernick doesn't get the ball rolling a couple years ago and possibly and Jeremy like. I don't know for sure but yes, it it certainly was momentous an emotional and passionate which you know we have seen from countless players from Jamal Murray the other night after his unbelievable fifty point game. If you not been watching that playoff series unbelievable coach carroll was animated he was emotional. You could you could feel you could just was shaking in his emotion you could feel that from from player. So across all those different legs, you certainly sense that and you know what? That's That's the essence of it for me. Mike is I. I. Want to see it put into action in. We're seeing it and we're seeing these leagues committed to it and and that's awesome. That is using your platform to promote the change that that is personal to. So many of these guys what did you think Pete? Thought. He was really emotional man really really passionate and that was probably. A Direct indirect relationship to how it is with his team behind the scenes. But we're not privy to in those media rooms. We've been privy to a to a degree we always separated by a wall, but we could hear the emotion in that team room many times it was music, but you could hear it. I mean Pete is a is a personal guy. He's passionate guy is a deeply emotional guy I think become maybe even more emotional at this stage of the game is because he knows didn't have that much time left. With the platform that he has and he was, he was tremendously passionate about he sure was and know there's a bunch of things that I kind of take out of that, and some of it is what Danny wrote. The peach doesn't care about the folks who will be turned off by it and I think that's an important part of it. Some of it is you know obviously the emotion and the way he feels, and I, think he's excited to be in the front lines of this thing I Think that that appeals to him become truly means it and believes it and it also fitting for a guy who has long been the ultimate players coach to be the one right there leading the way with the players. Yes. I mean it. Just it is so fitting for who pete is he's truly players coach and this is why and for a long time that was sort of viewed as a negative and kind of you know obviously, there were folks who think that's not the way to to to coach. But. He's been showing that it is and more and more over the last decade coaches have been like Pete instead of going the other way and I think the reason isn't just because he lets them get away with stuff which is sort of the old rap on Pete because he's on their side because he believes in them. Yeah. He really believes in them listens to them takes the times and the best doesn't put himself above them and is able to stand with them. Pretty remarkable thing. You know it's interesting timing. Wise. We're having this conversation and. Sport lost an icon who is ahead of his time and John Thompson. Seventy eight year old passed away this week in the former. Georgetown who? Were you a Hoyas guy growing up? Did you was that you were two years younger than me? So you're probably even a little younger in the early eighties. Georgia. Tech. Guy You're more Georgia Tech. But we was chatting with Jay Bilas about this and Jay. Bilas said you know one of the great misperceptions about John Thompson was that people would say oh, he just didn't care about other's opinions. He he just didn't care. Right? He also boycotted he took a stand he was. So against prop forty eight in thought it was so. Inequitable and was just not going to stay in for it, and in many ways John Thompson ahead of his time and bill said, it wasn't A. Jay's opinion and to some degree I think it's the same opinion. I have about Carol in where I disagree with any little bit. It's not the Danny or not. That Pete doesn't care what other people think and Jay Bilas said he cared John. Thompson care the people fought and he knew what they start to think and it would lead to further change in conversation and I..

"Cash network paying all those rights fees, you have better access leading up to but once again ends I mean it's a as you can see it's a it's a mad house people especially the Super Bowl where of international media and that Atlanta Super Bowl with the with the Patriots coming back. You know the you thought they gave, and so they they always let the entire media and you know this down on the field with a minute or to go in the fourth quarter whenever so people can get to the point to do their jobs. So they were there waiting overtime the gift. Twenty free the patriots come back and it was remember that was deflategate and and Tom. Brady's mom had had an illness a serious illness there was there was a lot of emotion in that and and I was trying to from the sideline we have usually there's sometimes only the Super Bowl, a field producer and they'll sometimes they give league representative to help you but they got wiped out of the crowd I mean there were elbow, Schwab people knocked down, but it was that crazy and I had just stick the Mike and there and use the overhead camera to start I. Knew Tom Brady was drained I you know. Emotionally. But to me, that's that's such. An important part that that I think gets lost sometimes it's Not Shoving a Mike and the face of the player coach. But after the the sooner you get to them after that victory and the law, sometimes you have to go to the locker room and talk to him. Losing coach and I had to do that with Mike McCarthy and the packers after that great seahawk come back I had the green bay sideline that the. Playoff game where they had a fantastic comeback but. I. Think that that Roy Emotional and usually they don't even hear your question. They're more just expressing the joy or the anger. If it's a Richard Sherman or somebody that you know there and that's what you want. You want that real emotion there of what we just did we stuck together or you know and then do you try to say get the key play here tell me what you know how you did that or when you were down by ten what was said that They ask the question or not. You're getting the real person that moment and I think that's important thing for the audience to see and I liked that as a family watching a game whether it's a playoff game or even regular season. Chris Jerry brings you text me the Boise quarterback very upset that you didn't remember his name very okay. I said relationship. That we've built so I apologize to stay in touch but how do you you know Kinda gauge game probably what a hug out Very. True. My last thing here for is all of these years and experiences incredible stories and everything else is you're preparing for this season in times that we find ourselves in the midst of still a pandemic. We've got a meeting this week you and I do with our Fox executives to hear the plan for for us on the road and testing and everything else if all of your years of experience have you ever gone into a season of sport prepared or unprepared unlike we all are for this upcoming season No never before and I brought I've never seen anything like this is just a sports fan at what's going on in our country and I covered it I covered the ninety four, the baseball strike wiped out the World Series I. I was reported for ESPN spending time with the Commissioner Donald FEHR players, unions, and play reps, and even in the NFL where we're labor disputes that stopped gaze sports and I'm just taking it from that angle. So this goes way above and beyond all of that because their safety and I think there's a more of an awareness. My part, all of our part of how we're GonNa do this that we have a job to do but there are so many other factors involved. So yes, it's GONNA be a different they'll be A. Normal game team preparation I shouldn't say normal approach it normally, but it'll be done differently in terms of who we can be around and that type of thing, and then there's kind of the medical or health and safety preparation and job that will also all have to do that. We're responsible for so but I I'm really grateful for the and especially DNA all the sports for trying to kind of work through this. I. Think there's ways we. The two things worse to do when we have something is to panic or do nothing and so. We're GONNA learn along the way after you and and I think the NFL is kind of a guy gets on that and I'm frankly glad that we're able to go to the grapes that the the the the Fox networks and the NFL are saying, we want you there the stadium to to call abroad Jesse even if it's GonNa be a little bit of. Extra there might be some risk if you're not comfortable. Okay. That's your choice but but at least. Moving, forward with this and so yes, the challenges will be different, but we get to the you know the kickoff on Sunday and they're playing I just think America runs on football and it's going to be a great feeling for all of us and they'll help us. It'll help us get through a very, very difficult year he on the you're on the sideline for the seahawks comeback against the packers few years ago. Yes Erin Andrews had the Seattle sideline and I had the the packers well, that tremendous where they yeah. You know the the moment that gets lost in that game as the two point conversion we're Russell made learned around like five times through it up in the should have been, and then it fell right into Luke. Wilson has remarkable play. That yeah, exactly. That's right. Yeah, and that was again Russell Wilson just and those things do get lost unless there at the end of a game or something like that. But I again, I just there was a compass, but I could tell it's funny that they were playing it the packers sideline there was not that they were going to let that lead get away i. don't I could sense that they were playing a little too safe when they got the lead and I know Aaron Rodgers was not liking it about, hey, we gotta. We gotta go stick the Dagger in here. Let's not just easier and then of course, Seattle did some magical things on the seahawks did and came back but I I will give McCarthy credit. 'cause he was really, I mean stunned going to the locker room and having the interview after I think even used if he doesn't normally but used a curse word and you know like and then calling himself and so. "An ex football insider report with Chris Myers of Fox Sports next in seventies decals and writing producing and Vicki more so we'll get to the Browns and Chargers in just a moment but I don't think we can start the show without talking about what drew Brees said last night most touchdown passes ever but to me more impressively twenty nine for thirty for its completion rate last night he was kicking himself for not going thirty for thirty and it tells you something about drew Brees and most successful quarterbacks are perfectionists that's how they relate that to their teammates and that's all that's all breezes he's going to think about it he has the one that got away and this is an amazing story for a guy who is under six going just under sixty who had a shoulder Chargers fans will remember when he was in southern California had to get a shoulder repaired told me that but actually he thought after that surgery made his arm stronger and he's held up well for a guy his age to set at the moment the all time a touchdown passing record in the NFL have a Brady at us usually Tom Brady probably go back and forth a little bit of irony is that they both at the moment their contracts beyond this year they become free agents I'm sure their teens work something out another sign of a breeze you know he always defers money to make sure there's more cap space for his team to sign other player so they can content so chasing a second Super Bowl ring it's it's been a terrific year already for drew Brees and the saints to at least know they're in the playoffs and still have a chance that that number one see Chris it's official the rams no longer want you to talk to Jared Goff before James now this after forty four twenty one loss you know the forty Niners gave up two touchdowns in the final two players of their loss in Atlanta what does that tell us about them as the two collide on Saturday well they were a lot of white favorites the forty Niners at home against Atlanta see that's clearly out of that I got the call that gave them some controversy with the the replay a touchdown taken off the board by later than they gave which was right Julio Jones first they ruled the not a catcher he broke the plane and scored a touchdown the forty Niners right now the rams plans Saturday night they they they're without forty five percent of the starters on defense and and so I I think if you attack as Madeline the falcons did that Ariel Julio Jones was able to put up big numbers and putting the game winner of that's where the rams have a very good chance against San Francisco a team that really about beat the heck out of the one that we're here in LA but what we're concerned about the rams that that yeah we disappointed in their defense this year they have the two time defensive player of the year at Erin dot all the jailer ramp supposed to be the best cover corner out there yet they have these lapses these games where they give up what fifty five points to tamper forty five the Baltimore forty four Dallas whatever those numbers work and so there's some kind of disconnect there and I thought that they were going to make a run to the playoffs their defense with at least put him in a tough games close so that the offense could do its part which was starting to click a with Gough and and girly so the rams go with their last two Vikings have to lose their last to both her home with a soul hasn't lost at home this year it's slim but there's still a chance for the rams and they do their part you say there's a chance they're still that of sailor Jerry at the slight.

"One when it's time today's KNX football insider reports Chris Myers of Fox Sports along with two killed Randy cartoon invisible well Chris world for three and partial football in the past week let's start with the Chargers Anthony when cells sorry sorry for a lot of your watch that game yeah he was it's not often that a coach afterwards apologize almost to the effort of of the Chargers unite I thought with Gordon back and and playing a win was Bronco team up with Denver is good enough to win a game but they played sloppy and I think given the lane that's a look in the mirror to it's up to him as the head coach to either get more out of his players even veterans like public rivers you know throwing some of the intersections of the awkward play right before that happened there the chance to to come back so a lot of those self inflicted problems for the Chargers but they're nowhere near live quite playing as well or as good a team at this point as they were last year when they have such a great run so I I I think they can sort it out there's plenty of time but they've wasted games early that they should have been able to press the rams no doubt will be watching tonight's game to catch a glimpse of their next opponent the forty Niners plus clay Matthews out for a month now with a broken jaw what's that all going to mean to them as they get ready for San Francisco yeah the forty Niners interviews creative wedding game and offense of approach ice I still think I don't I don't know that Ruffalo is in the top half of the quarterbacks in the league so whatever happens tonight with the forty Niners of the rams have the showdown with the scene at the top of the division next Sunday or coming up on Sunday and I think that's where they can right the ship especially after back to back losses and and a tough loss in the division to Seattle that again this is usually that kick is made and they win a game like that which they did last year so I I think the Rangers to a more talented team than the forty Niners and that will show over the long haul this season and I don't know that if the rams and if they have gotten so much worse I don't think that's the case but I do think the decision in the NFC west San Francisco got better Seattle got better and Arizona finally wins the game with a young quarterback they all got better so they're closing the gap on the on the defending champs of the division and I still think the ramp will be good enough to win that the bishop we can all tell stories of people who have been fired in some pretty shocking way so let's add this one to the west Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Sunday of the keys still works on Monday all keep working will barely work long enough for him to enter the building at five AM his time didn't even want to sleep in for this meeting where they told him he was fired some of called it the most disrespectful manner imaginable what do you think that well absolutely and and he was wondering he's been left wondering the last couple of weeks and wondering when he was questioned about his job it seemed like it was a a matter of of you know if he was going to get fired but but planned and the team if you go back in defense of road he's been on the job long enough so we understand the business you have to produce winds but there's an organizational problem and in Washington with the red skins Chris Myers foxsports join us this time tomorrow our insider will be Chargers hall of fame quarterback Dan Fouts of CBS sports remember extended versions with the insiders on the radio dot com FK next ten seventy dot com and also on Alexa a woman.

"Chris Myers of Fox Sports. Here's KNX ten seventy Kelton. Randy. And Vicki more. Chris lemme ask they'll say, yeah. Rams and the chargers both sort of have the same dilemma facing them. Right. Dallas. We approached the playoffs. Do you? Put your best team out on the field. Or do you keep the guys who might be hurting a little bit on the bench hoping that they'll be ready to go when the playoffs start? Yeah. That's an important move. And I think you still play your starters your regulars now the chargers in their position unless they win the division. Right. They won't have that off week going into the postseason. I thought the Rams made a mistake last year resting their starters too much in the last game. And then they had the off week. And then it took him a while to get going in their playoff game. But the ramp is a little more unique because they still have they want to nail down that that number two seed after losing back to back games for the first time under Sean McVay and Jared Goff, and they have some things they need to iron out. So they need their regular in there to make that work to improve that that time especially on offense and Todd Gurley still battling a knee injury. So he's one you may have to rest because you're going to need him for the playoffs. You don't want to risk. He's already dealing with a minor injuries. So it's a little bit different for both the Rams are charges. But the good news is they're both in the playoffs. And of course, the Rams or chargers which team will be hurt. More by having that starting running backs. This weekend. I think the chargers play Saturday at it'd be nice if they get a little home field the rush from the fans support with the ravens and talented team battling for a playoff spot. I think they're they're expecting that. They're going to be healthier at running back. They without two starters. Despite pulling off a terrific win the previous week. I'm not sure how the Rams of the girly situation make go right up until game time. It's the same need that he had surgery. I've back when it came out a Georgia, and it had something to do a little bit with people hesitating on the draft. But obviously he's overcome that. And he's been terrific employed Hertz in that tough loss on on Sunday night. What's the NFL going to do with the chargers? Get to host the AFC championship game. We would they played at stubhub. Well, that's a good question. There was some chatter officially about. Hey, they with a play at the Coliseum. I the concern. I would have if I were a charger is that there might be more fans support for the other team, even though we would be the charger home game and we're in a playoff game. So at this point, I don't think anything officially is is decided I think they should play where they played all season long, or at least leave that up to the chargers that decisions to stay earned the right? If that happens that they get to host a playoff game as we look toward the playoffs now and you've seen most of the teams during the season who do you like who do you see out there? That says Chris fires. You know? These are the guys that I think I can put my money on. Well, I think the saints in the bears. I've seen the bears a lot and the saints defense has been over the last month or so terrific. They want a tough game last night because of their defense. We think of them like the Rams is high scoring offense team defense travels in the playoffs that goes anywhere. It usually holds up even. And against a great offense. At it usually wins out at least two out of three times on the bears, although a young quarterback rookie head coach. I think they have the best defense in football in the Rams lost over those teams. Now, a rematch. They might be able to pull it off. I just looking from a Rams point of view. But I would put those two teams right now ahead of where the Rams are in the in the NFC over the AFC. I I really think it's wide open. I think the chargers have as good a shot as anybody seeing the vulnerability. It seems like the patriots and Kansas City Jordan's at this time tomorrow when we'll be joined by Rams hall of Famer Jackie Slater. And remember you can also hear an extended version of the KNX insiders on radio dot com and KNX ten seventy dot com..

"Like, why wouldn't they do it at their own hall of fame that nobody goes to anymore? I mean, they need to get that thing pop, and they have the perfect way to do it. And they don't I don't get it. Well, it's NASCAR. Of course. They don't have. Don't have the right sense of mind to actually do something good for themselves now. So the the only thing that we didn't know was most popular driver, which if you were watching the show yard you now chase Elliott, and that wasn't even going to be a surprise. I mean, everybody was gonna chase silly. It's going to be a run. Now. Like come on totally what if what are we talking about? So, but yeah, I get why didn't do it in Charlotte patiently next year. They're gonna kill it back further. And basically all the drivers are gonna fly into the airport. They're going to play couple of slots in in the be gate. They're going to film selfie video of them saying, hey, congratulations, whoever wins. And then they're all going to get back on the plane and just leave at that point. See that's the problem. You're thinking too big exactly this is going to be done for Mike helton's garage. And it's going to be thirty minutes. It's gonna be it's gonna be a picnic at the Bush brothers house. Don't they still live in in Vegas? They're going to do it in their backyard couple of fold out chairs off ago, God, it'd probably be better. If they I still think I mean, they're doing two hours here. And there's no really reason to do two hours because there's no like Rome, usable stuff. There's just Rutledge Diculeng dick Yetlis outfit. And that's it. Insanity. So yesterday today, they're doing the thing, by the way, most popular driver like you said chase Elliott. And then the next Finnity it was L SATA and and the trucks Noah Gregson. So there you go. And in case, you didn't know they announce it for the first time at the war banquet. Joey Logano Joseph Lugano is your to champion. Yep. Yep. Shocking. Yep. Took me by surprise. I know right. And. President of the Americas monster Bev, they're having the monster energy president. I didn't know it was a woman. There you go. Which for them? So but yesterday Mars brothers awards. What are those they've been doing that forever? And it's the national motor sports Press Association. And I guess the Myers brothers were some people who reported on stuff. I guess Chris Myers leaving that keeping that traditional nine. Oh, totally. Yeah. Chris Myers from the Orioles. Chris Myers Christmas for FOX Chris Myers from FOX right on. He it's hard to keep the Chris Mayer Strayer the know all the Chris Mayer straight. So there was Chris Myers. Played for the Orioles. Right. He was a catcher, Chris Hoiles. Chris Hoiles wasn't there. Chris I guess there wasn't a Christmas was Chris marshalls a pitcher for somebody. Find out. We've got nothing else to do. They're talking. There'll even talking to Joey they'll tugging at Joey. He doesn't get to say anything yet daily. Chris myers. I have is the guy in the Hollywood hotel, really hang on. I put Chris Myers. I put Chris Myers MLB, and he came up because he does the MLB on FOX. Oh, here we go. Chris Myers baseball reference. He was Chris Myers was selected by the ball Morio wills on ball more about that in the nineteen eighty seven amateur draft but failed to reach the major leagues. How do I remember him? Rickie in amazing. Able pitcher. Those up and down because he had him in rota league for years. Now, he was supposed to be sorry. I mean the pop the mic there. He was supposed to be like this big this, big like FINA. I'm like this big prospect. There you go..

"Chris Myers, use KNX ten seventy dick Calton, Chris Madsen and Vicky more Chris I was just kind of looking at if you look at the Rams schedule compared to the chargers schedule. The next two games the way the Rams defense has been playing trying to shut down the pass those could both be losers. You're going up against Russell Wilson again. And then you've got Patrick Mahomes. Yeah. The tough part is that you know, both of those teams. At least Seattle is is desperate. Even of the Rams lost Sunday. They didn't lose any ground because the Seahawks loss from what is almost a four and a half or five gave lead with just into the second half of the season. I think the Rams are they made some adjustments in that that saints game. I mean, Marcus Peters is a problem on their defense. I think it's one thing to be a risk taker but not producing enough interceptions. I heard some other people around me talking about his disciplined and lacking in that department, and it's a few weeks until they get a keep to lead back at corner and that and that should help. But I'll say this as we venture into the second half of the season because of the way they played in the way, they built up of their record so far not only will the Rams and chargers make the playoffs but each will be able to to win. In a playoff game. And I'm Chris Myers, and I approve this. Hey, Chris Chris Manson here. You know? There was a time when the place kicker on a team was almost an afterthought a guy who seemingly never really got the respect that they so richly deserved now flash forward to the present day NFL and take us through both the Rams and the chargers kicking situations. And just how important this position has become in terms of their long term success. It is when they moved the extra point back ten yards. And I think it's psychological with a lot of kicker. So it's now what is a thirty three yard field goal. We saw the Monday night. Jay Dallas kicker was a field goal. Triumph of elite twenty seven twenty eight yards inside that. And he missed that. I've been Greg's airline has been a top notch kicker. It had some injuries since he's come back with from that Rams had to shuffle kickers. He just hasn't been the same reliable guy. I mean he used to be automatic for fifty five yards. You can get you through the regular season playoffs. You can't afford that weather conditions change depending upon where you're playing the chargers have made a change again with stirred. They they gave Sturgis I got two year contract even change holders. He misses extra points. Got a stair from Philip rivers, even though at one McCain. So they're going back to a guy from there moving up from their practice while they call him batch would filled in well, but it's a it's an area. You can't toy with an overall across the league. Even the most accurate kicker in the NFL from the ravens have missed his first extra point after two hundred twenty two consecutive, try. So it's not just extra points. It's it's being reliable and chicks in pressure situations that I I think it is if you're going to nitpick with both of these teams with the Rams and chargers it's an area that they have to clear up shore up. However, they do it by the time to get to the playoffs. So Chris Myers. Let's go back to that message that you approved talking talking about the chargers how you think they could win a division, title and LA could have two of the best teams in football. I mean, this is amazing. But still the chargers, you know, they don't have that, you know, super strong fan base. When do you think people are going to climb on board? Yeah. That I it, you know, it's it's fun. Because I think James beyond LA or southern California San Diego woke gravitate to this team because they you know, they they haven't won a Super Bowl, they're more balanced than they have been. And and rivers is a is a an interesting figure to watch. And I will say that the assistant coaches Gus Bradley on defense and cab was not an offense have been head coaches forever in the league, and they have worked well with Anthony lives. So that's a very strong base.

"What are they games have really looking forward to later today on FOX the saints in Baltimore to take on? The ravens are buddy. Chris Myers is there and part of the team. Chris great to have you. I I'm interested in this. You know, we I think we've gotten used over the years the saints offense a little bit less dynamic when it leaves the dome, and then add in the way that the ravens defense is playing how how would you describe the task at hand for drew Brees today, and how optimistic are you that they're going to be able to move the ball? Well, I think this is this is a game. That means a lot to breeze for a number of reasons. So he may treat it a little differently. One more touchdown pass and he gets five hundred hundred his career he became the all time passing yardage leader. When they last played after their bye week on that on that Monday night game. But he's never he's beating all the teams in the NFL the franchises except for the Baltimore Ravens. So and for his career. So I think is approach with Ted get out of the lineup gonna affect downfield speed. I think with with Ingram and Kamerhe he'll be patient more patient given the way that the ravens offense controls the ball. And you'll make the most of the possessions that they have at hopefully be able to to score enough against the defense the best defensive league right now. Allowing only thirteen points a game and the other side of that is the saints have the highest average points per game offensively. So that that'll be interesting matchup clash of those two teams. But I got the sense from talking to Sean Payton, and they're not gonna go crazy about they're going to be a little bit more. We'll take conservative maybe a little more cautious on the road. Breeze. Can't change things at the line of scrimmage as much as he likes to win the dome because of the crowd noise. And although the weather's nice here. Fifty and sunny, it is windy. So that that could affect the kicking game and some passes that are floating Baltimore's pass rush. Generated eleven sacks. I the titans a week ago. Is that more about the ravens defense or is it more about the titans offense? Can we see anything resembling that level of harassment on breeze today? What did you say that? Because that's one thing. Sean Payton said he said, no matter what happens if this game. I'll stand on a chair makeup proclamation that we won't give up eleven sacks that won't happen here because breeze gets rid of the ball so fast. But I do think it's a combination of both with the titans offensive line last week. But also with the ravens defense on the way, they pressure people, certainly they lead the NFL. And sax last game had something to do with it. But whomever, they play they're able to usually put pressure and get to the quarterback. But because breezes is a savvy veteran and so used to heavy Russia's I don't think that that'll be a problem. He's only been sacked eight times considering how much he puts the ball up in the air. Oh, that's pretty good protection. Now, there are some the offensive line adjustments for both teams. Both teams are missing a key offensive lineman today. So it could open things up for both defensive lines a little bit more than out of the ordinary. Chris Myers with us. Saints ravens later, Chris. How goes the Lamar Jack? Axon learning process. What what are they saying about it? What are they hoping for him to contribute this year? Well, he's put in the same position. And if you watch this game, it's it's kind of interesting to establish quarterbacks right in flacco and breezy one Super Bowls. And then you have a Lamar Jackson draft in the first round and tastes them hill. Who is used on kickoffs. He's a backup quarterback behind. Teddy Bridgewater really the third, but they have special packages where they bring him in to run her hand off to run an option. And of course, March action does the same. He's only attempted five half is mostly in the red zone. You'll probably see him us. So both of those quarterbacks will be brought in at certain times. Not exactly sure when but as far as him taking over the quarterback, that's not happening this year. I mean flacco is averaging almost three hundred yards a game..

"It's time for our KNX football insider reports with Chris Myers of Fox Sports long, dick, Elton, Randy and Vicki more. So Chris I'm going to read back to you something that you you tweeted out a couple of days ago. Tell you about the NFL you said the uncertainty of the unpredictability of the unexpectedly CF L worth watching every week or something like that. I was running out of descriptive words. For the up set of buffalo winning in Minnesota. There were other upsets I've in Green Bay losing against Washington. Even Jacksonville losing at home to Tennessee. We're only through three weeks it's very unpredictable in terms of matchup. So that's really what what a lot of these games come down to it coaches. Always tell us that the first four weeks beyond the preseason is is when they're shaping their team. And they get a real sense of what's going on to other things stand out. I mean, we have three undefeated teams the Rams we thought might be there. The chiefs we expected with a young quarterback to win in the Miami Dolphins, and nobody expected at least seems to have the pick the finish last in their division and who's close to that. It may still may. But they're off to a three started. We have four of the rookie quarterback's already named a starter. Some of them already have produced wins for their teams that includes Josh Rosen from UCLA with the cardinals. And and Sam darnold force with the jet. So yes, there's a lot of upheaval as we've only completed there. Three weeks of the season. And not let's not forget the patriots losing to Detroit that was pretty huge as well. But but I wondering what the Rams trying to turn things around now after an emotional emotional because of the rivalry game. If you will against the chargers, what's that going to be like for them to turn things around very quickly against Minnesota. The lions feeding the patriots. But the way the team's loss right in New England, just got demolished. And and so they've Minnesota some of those favorites as for the Rams this week couple of things stand out the the short week, always savors the home team. So so that's an advantage for the Rams the disadvantages having both of their Cornerbacks injured and their key to what they do on defense. If this was a, you know, if you had a little more time, they're getting second opinions one of my require surgery. But if you're getting sick you buy more time if you played on Sunday for at least one of them to be in the game. And I do think for the Rams in this case there's the revenge factor of last year they were beaten soundly up in Minnesota, and they hope had hoped to play them again in the playoffs and seek revenge. We'll have a chance. Now on a national TV stage, which you can see on FOX. But I do think Minnesota is gonna come out angry after they were barest by by the bills and that upset so there's the ram should still be able to pull this off. Despite the injuries defense. They one of the best offenses not only in the NFL currently, but the best we've seen a decade. So what is your overall rating for them? You said the best let's get a little deeper into that. I mean are they playing above your expectations? I think they're playing about where we expect it. I you know, I I saw the recent the odds in Las Vegas for his a Super Bowl team the winner, and they have moved to the to the very top. They were one of the favorites when the season started after three games. I think the biggest thing is the health of of the team if they continue to have injuries. For example, I punt return thorough Cooper's gone out. He was a key guy for them last year on kickoff returns. They Cooper company to go back there and return these sound like little things the injury to their to their their starting place kicker can cost you type game. Like this. Even though you have the next guy stepping up and those injuries on on defense. Number one, at least most powerful. Join us this time tomorrow our football insider going to be Rams hall of Famer Jackie Slater. You can follow. The insiders on Alexa. Search KNX ten seventy after years of.

"Trafford. Today's KNX football insider report with Chris Myers. Fox Sports the Kelton Vicky more as Chris about Sunday's matchup at the Coliseum between the Rams and the chargers and quarterbacks Jared Goff and Philip rivers. Sean McVay the play calling is is tied into Jared Goff a little bit more consists. I think I think golf has more talent around him. I mean, the RAMSAR on the Super Bowl track. The chargers on a playoff tractors a little bit of a difference. And well, I want to call this the battle for LA. It really isn't. I mean, it's the battle for this week. I mean, this isn't college football, it's bragging rights, but the but the real NFL team of Los Angeles. The picker battle is the one that's gonna go further into the playoffs or or onto the Super Bowl. But yes, both quarterbacks will be the key inasmuch as we know they put up numbers. It's the wonder makes the bigger mistake on Sunday that might ultimately affect the game more. So so we talk about how great the Rams are this season. It's early in the season. But we want to get them to the Super Bowl. But let's talk about where you think they are weak and might need to improve. Well, I tell you there's not a lot of areas. I thought deputy don't making sure Todd Gurley is backed up. So that he gets the right amount of rest, but they've done a terrific job with that. Because he runs and catches. I do think and Sam thick and is brought back to help with the kicking injury. They're going to have maybe a few weeks missing their primary kicker, and that's important. You saw the Vikings miss a chance to win a game to overtime with Green Bay. You suck Cleveland MISA trance to to get a win against the saints. And they changed their kickers because of the injury when they have the Vikings coming up Thursday at the Coliseum of that's the Viking team is like the Rams even the NFC. I think regarded as a favorite a superpower so to speak, and they're going to need a healthy kicking. So that could be a weaker spot. Johnny Hecker has filled in the best way to avoid that a score a lot of points or go for two point conversions. And the Rams are very efficient at that. So I I think this is a well rounded ramp team. I mean, they went out and got defensive players they're gearing up for a Super Bowl run. There's no. Planning for the future. They signed the right kind of guy. They have a talented place. They want to be a Super Bowl or at least Super Bowl contending team of the new stadium arrives their underway. They want wanna ask you about something that came out today. And this is another sort of unpleasant issue that the NFL has to deal with and it is football hall of famers threatening to boycott the annual induction ceremonies unless they start getting health insurance and salary. And that includes they say a share of the league's revenue say the one hundredth anniversary of the NFL is approaching in twenty twenty but they say a hundred years of what they call player exploitation is not worth celebrating. They say these retired guys are exploited for their images. And for marketing purposes, do you know, any more about this and how this is going to shake out? I done some some benefits for some of the veterans years ago who weren't fraud.
