"Hate saying crypto dot com. I hate typing it. I hate writing it out in like articles and stuff. Can you just call it crypto arena? That'd be so much better. So yeah, if Chris masters is listening, buddy, when you're back in town, can you just master lock that off the sign? That'd be great. Crypto orna sounds a hundred times better. So I'm going to make it much. It's much easier if it's just the crypto April. Absolutely. What about you, Trevor? What are you master locking? I'm seeing a few options come in, but yeah, my mask again, it goes back to the effort. And it drives me crazy when I see the team not play hard. I don't care whether you're the guy at the end of the bench, whether you are the star, you've got to give effort at every single night, particularly the position the Lakers are in right now, where you lost three in a row, I expected to see the team come out fired up. I thought LeBron tried to lift the team as much as he could, but there were a number of cases where wasn't necessarily LeBron kind of at one point in the game he just kind of went. I've got no help here. You know? But I felt like we saw a lot of guys who didn't make the extra effort, especially on the defensive end of the floor. So that's my master lock and it has to be. Every time we see a game like this, where effort is an issue, got to be it. It's got to be my master law. That makes sense. I probably would have picked the same thing, but I feel like I could say that almost most nights now, so I feel like I'm cheating. Well, you know what, it would be nice when Austin Reeves gets back, because he is personified, right? So that's certainly what help. The basketball gods did it want us to have Reeves and Caruso on the same roster. It just would have been the cryptocurrency of arena would have gosh, that's gonna be hard to get used to. Would have just collapsed in on itself in sheer awesomeness. It wouldn't be able to handle it. Not kidding everything on Westbrook. This is super chat here. He is bad. He's averaging 5 to 7 turnovers. He's a horrible defender inefficient score and bad at free throws. So they do not like Russell Westbrook. That's been a sentiment. Even though I think he's been personally bored, biras said master lock Russ's signature fourth quarter turnovers..

"Don't get me wrong, but if you want to look at the glass half full here, the Lakers didn't give a 26 point lead up this time. That is not glasses have full at all. I know, but Trevor, come on, man. All right, let's you know what, let's do let's get into one thing. That's a positive, especially to deal with the game like this. If you guys haven't heard yet Lakers nations releasing showtime logger that's coming up this Saturday 6 o'clock we're releasing it too specific locations in the Los Angeles area. We're going to be at LA draft in Santa Monica again starting at 6 p.m.. That's when it's going to be released. And we'll be at Indy brewery in Los Angeles so you can join us at either location, Matt's going to be at one with Ron gutterman myself and Chris masters will be at another one and you guys can come hang out with us. We will stick around, watch the Lakers take on the Portland trailblazers there and we of course will be debuting showtime lager. In fact, I do happen to have a little commercial for it right here. So check it out. All right. And once again, we're going to have two locations because there was a lot of demand so we're actually doing two locations for this. Again, one is indie brewery in Los Angeles, the other one. We're going to be out in Santa Monica at LA draft and they both start 6 o'clock. That's when it officially releases and then the Lakers take on the Portland trailblazers at 7 30 going to be a lot of fun. This night would have been a little bit easier to deal with. If we had some showtime logger. Yes, absolutely. And I have a feeling that because let's back up a little bit here. A little bit having a little bit of a rough shooting stretch to start the season here. But he's played the Lakers. So that's obviously the best medicine. So I'm going to need quite a few showtime loggers to get through that probably..

"They're going to bring them along slowly. It would have been nice to see him at least maybe towards the end of the game or something like that. But he'll get his chance. He'll get a chance. He's shown well enough. I think he will get his minutes at some point. So basically, we might not get a win for a while, Trevor. So this is gonna be an interesting few Laker nation postgame shows and chats going forward with this next Phoenix game and I don't know who we have after that. I think we might have some easy ones after that, I think. Yeah, it does lighten up after that. The schedule does indeed lighten up after our tough two games start. In fact, I think they get the grizzlies on Sunday. So suns on Friday grizzlies on Sunday. Chris, why don't we get into your favorite segment though? The master lockdown. What is that, Trevor? The more. The master lock of the nights. We're going to talk about who it is. The kind of annoyed us a little bit tonight that maybe should be put in Chris masters finishing hold the master lock and let's go to the graphic on this one. While we go to this chat, let us know. Who do you think should be put in the master lock? Come after on this lockdown. All right, Chris masters, who's getting put in the master lock. Okay, trev and Laker nation. I know that, you know, even looking at the I don't even have to look at the chat to know that most people are probably gonna say Russell Westbrook. But I do know because I watched the show when I'm not on it, that Russell Westbrook has already taken about two to three months is that too? He's had two. So we're gonna kind of take it easy and Westbrook. He's gotta get rhythm. So let's stop master locking him for a minute so we can loosen up a little bit and get his rhythm back. But I'm going to sell my master lock, well there's a couple easy ones for me. I mean, I'm just gonna go with how do you say his name nemanja be a Lisa? That stretch it. Him on to be aliza. The new stretch center for the warriors who kind of created some havoc for tonight. And the reason I'm gonna give it to him, I just point blank. It was that shot to the head of LeBron James and, you know, I know that was probably just the hard foul, but I mean, LeBron's our top guy and I didn't, again, I didn't want to give it to Westbrook. So I'm going with Beale Lisa for nailing our guy and you know honorary mention, obviously can go to Jordan Poole because he just absolutely killed us. But trev? Yeah, I mean, look, belitz is, you know, whenever you get a flagrant foul by hitting LeBron in the head, that's got to put you in the running for master locker than I'd be elites who did a very nice night led his team in plus minus as a plus 2015 points at 11 boards with four assists from him 6 of 7 from shooting, knock it off, be elites..

"And for now for now we've got to stay optimistic and assume that this stuff is going to change as the regular season gets going minutes get normalized in all of that. Because I think it's too early to start saying, let's get rid of this guy. That guy's never going to make it. Can we trade this player? It's way too small of a sample size to be there right now. Yeah, yeah, I completely agree. I don't think we're going to struggle on the offensive side of the ball. Once they build that chemistry, there have been moments. We've talked about where great shooters were left open. We're not going to see that long-term. You know, they're going to learn each other. They're going to see they're going to be able to see the floor. And there have been times where guys were hit when they weren't ready. And, you know, when that happens enough, they're going to catch those reads, you know, rondo had an incredible past and I think that was off. And it just didn't land need to be. And even based more out of beautiful handoff, I think once they build a little bit more chemistry, and they have time to play together. Again, all this team needs is time to play together. Practice and time on the floor. Once they figure out the rotations and they figure out what their offensive identity is going to be, we're going to see them pounding the ball on the inside. We're going to see them hitting open teammates, driving kicks, all the things that we're used to seeing from people like Russell Westbrook and LeBron James. And those shots are going to start falling. It's just going to take some time a little bit rough right now. I'll be honest, it's a lot big left right now. It's tough to watch, but it's going to be all right. They'll figure the offense out just like they have before. Even the championship team. If you remember in the early days of the bubble, let's first do gains in the bubble. That was bad. Oh, this team is worried. I was like, you know, I worry then. So, you know, we've seen this before. We'll get it together. Yeah, that's very, very true. Those first few games in the bubble, especially after the Lakers, when they got into the bubble and they beat the clippers, they locked in the one seed, they just mailed it in. The remaining whatever was 8 games, and people started to worry uh oh, is this just who they are now? They really not that good because we haven't seen them in four months. We saw one game against the clippers, and that was about all we had. And then they kind of turned it on from there and it turned out they just weren't going a 100% during those games because they didn't have to. There is going to be some element of that here because they're veteran players. They're not going to pay a lot of attention to pre season, LeBron already said the other day. He gets nothing from pre season. So if that's the mindset, maybe that's part of why we're seeing what we are right now. Also say this. You know, I put this out there on Twitter. I think it was either this morning or yesterday. I said that the sons are the kind of team that you want to be playing right now, even though it's not pleasant because what's going to happen, the suns are one of those teams offensively where they're going to recognize whenever your defense makes a mistake and they're going to punish you for it. And you don't want to get away with mistakes right now. You want to play a team that's going to expose all of your mistakes so they are glaringly obvious so you go and fix them before the regular season starts. If the Lakers were playing somebody else, right? They're playing. They've played the sons. They've played the nets, they've played the warriors. They've played some teams that have chemistry already built in with the nets. Yeah, they played a lot of their bench players. And maybe that one's out the door, but the warriors had a lot of players that they've already had in their system. Same thing with the suns. Guys who are going to notice mistakes and take advantage of them. If the Lakers had played their games against the Orlando Magic, if they played their games against the cabs, we'd probably feel a little bit better about them right now. But those teams aren't going to expose your weaknesses and force you to fix them before the regular season starts. So that's the kind of glasses half full approach to this. You played the one team that's probably the best at picking apart your weaknesses whenever you're a step off on the defensive end of the floor, and it can be uncomfortable when it's happening and you're getting your butt kicked, but in the long run, you're better off for it. That is a great point. Yeah, I couldn't have said it better myself. And one thing I do want to warn the fans about is don't be surprised if we don't look too great opening night either or even for those first few games. You know, traditionally, from what I've seen LeBron kind of uses opening night as a preseason game. He's feeling things out still. You're not going to see me play off LeBron on opening night. And it frustrates the hell out of me. Especially since we played the clippers a lot of all being I see. I want to see them come on, I believe it's the second game of the year where they play the suns. I want to see a revenge game. But we may not see that because they're still going to be figuring it out. So again, you know, it sounds like a broken record. We're just going to have to be patient. I think they're really going to start ramping things up and we're going to see a glimpse of what this team is going to be come play off time, probably around Christmas. Yeah, that's probably and just so happens that Christmas Day will be against the nets, but who knows if Kyrie Irving will be there or not, I guess we'll have to wait to find out on that one. But yeah, it's going to take them some time to really get going and really figure out exactly where their weaknesses are where their strengths are and figure out how to play to win basketball games. That's going to take at a time. All right. Oh, here we've got a comment coming in, saying the scorpion king knows his stuff. Kind of like that. Not only that. Got a love Dwayne Johnson. He does know. I appreciate it. That was a good one. I appreciate the comment. That's right. All right. Guys, let's do one more, then we'll and then we'll call it a night here. You know what? Let's do this. So somebody just ask, who is this Scorpio guy? So to anybody who doesn't know you at this point. Once you explain to everybody, who you are and what you do all that kind of stuff. Well, I would get my name Scorpio sky. I'm a professional wrestler with a company called AEW All Elite Wrestling. We have a show every Wednesday night on TNT. At 8 p.m. eastern. And we have a show on Friday nights at 10 p.m. eastern, also on TNT. Actually, this Friday, I'll be wrestling Chris Jericho, Sami semi Guerra and Jake Hager. My tag team partner will be Ethan page and former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos. I'm also a friend of Chris masters, and we know each other for a number of years through the wrestling business. So anybody, please check me out on social media, Twitter, Instagram at Scorpio sky. Most importantly, though, I am a lifelong die hard LA Lakers fan. And a huge Kobe guy. So that's what really brings us all here. You know, we all love the Lakers. We are all die hard Lakers in blue performed gold. And we just want to see our team win. That's right. Your picture on social media is you in the ring with your Kobe Jersey. Yeah, you know, that was taken the first, you know, obviously Kobe tragically passed on a Sunday. We had a show in Cleveland that Wednesday. And so, you know, I grabbed. I was in a 6 man that night. I grabbed the guys. I said, hey, we got to come out. I have three Coby jerseys. We have to come out wearing Kobe jerseys. And so that's what we did. And one of the photographers caught a great photo of it, and it's been my profile picture on all my social ever since. January 2020. And so, you know, not to bring the moment down but Kobe was obviously a hero of mine. I bring a lot of his teachings and.

"At the Denver Nuggets and it depends on what happens with Jamal Murray. That can be a good team, but they've got guys that are injured right now and are trying to come back. So I agree, I think based on ceiling the Lakers are at the very top, but it may be a little bit rough going in the early season because of this lack of familiarity. And it's going to take time for them to figure that out. 100%. Couldn't agree more. All right, let's get into everybody's favorite segment of the 9. Now, normally we call this the master lock of the night where everybody gets to vent a little bit and say, who it is that gets put a Chris masters finishing hold, the master lock. But tonight, Scorpio, since you're our guest here, this is going to be the scorpion death lock of the night. Who is it that deserves to be put in the scorpion death lock chat? I want to hear from you guys who do you think should be in the scorpion deadlock tonight? Let us know it can be a Laker if you want, I guess we've yet to do a Lakers so far this season, but it could be a Laker. It could be a Phoenix sun last time around. Last time the Lakers played the suns, it was Jay Crowder who got this one. So Scorpio, who do you have? Who's getting put in the scorpion deathlock tonight? So normally we don't do the Lakers. What you say, we don't pick Lakers. We do. We do sometimes. We do sometimes, but here's the qualifier. Whatever we pick a Laker, it's always done out of love. We say putting them in that hold, it's gonna loosen things up a little bit for them. It's gonna wake them up and then next game. Next game, they're gonna be better. Whereas if it's somebody from the other team, okay, we'll make it hurt a little bit. Well, I have to be honest, I've defended him, so I gotta put Russell Westbrook in it. You know, again, I have defended him a lot tonight, but the reality is you're a superstar. You gotta be better. You know, you gotta be better. I don't know if he's just forcing things a little bit too much. But he's got to look for his teammates and he's got a slow it down. If needed, you know, again, it's the preseason, so I don't want to read too too much into it, but 7 to 6 turnovers. The other night and 9 turnovers tonight, we're going the wrong direction. So a nice light scorpion death lock on Russell Westbrook. You know, I want to say, I want to hurt his back in his legs. I want to keep him a little bit fresh for the next game and say, listen, I love you Russ, you know, I'm very, very happy you're here, Brody, but you've got to be better. That was going to be my pick as well was Russ and I hate it. I don't want to pick a Laker, but you can't ignore 9 turnovers. 9 turnovers in a game, that certainly deserving. I suppose I've got I've got some people saying still Jay Crowder just because he's Jay Crowder. Okay, maybe an honor honorable bet you do J Crowder, but I think Russell Westbrook is indeed deserving of that one. And most of the chat does agree with that one. Yeah. I've seen I've seen a lot of people. I've got rob pelinka for not signing James Dennis. People saw James Dennis tweet out there. And they're talking about that. Yep, but I've got a lot of risk. How dare they slander uncle? That's right. Uncle rob is a saint. Oh, I've got some people saying the referees. There was nothing that happened tonight that I think I can blame on the referee. There was some missed calls and things like that. The Russell Westbrook, you know, gold ten that wasn't called the gold end at the end of the second quarter and then led to a son's three. Again, where the Lakers didn't get back in transition, really gave up after that play. Look, the ruffs made some mistakes, but the reps are in preseason form too. There wasn't anything that would have changed the outcome of this game or anything or made the Lakers look, particularly better or anything. I think a lot of what the Lakers are doing right now is self inflicted. Yeah, I couldn't agree. We lost that game. You can't blame it on the referees. They weren't who were egregious. And even if they were, you know, those calls went the right way. It probably doesn't change the game. We lost by 40. Or whatever it was, so, you know, you give us a few of those calls. Okay, now we lose by, you know, realistically, you know, 18 to 20 years, whatever the 25. So it's fine, you know, we'll get it together. I've got a lot of people that are down on Frank fogle right now. And this tends to happen when a team is not living up to expectations. The knee jerk reaction is to look at the coach and say, okay, it must be something that the coach is doing. Frank Vogel has proven though in his two years with the Lakers that he is one of the best defensive coaches in the NBA. I mean, we saw it last year. We saw last year where the Lakers they lost LeBron lost AD and they continued to be a top 5 defense in the NBA, which to me was an incredible accomplishment. This season, the Lakers are really putting that to the test. They've brought in guys who aren't known as defenders, and they're asking Frank Vogel to turn them into a very solid defensive team. But people are getting frustrated with him already. And it's only pre season, but where are you at on Frank Vogel? The Lakers only gave him a one year extension on his contract. So I don't know how much faith there is there. I don't know where to where to fall on on Vogel at this point. That's such a weird situation. The one year extension, I don't really know what to make of that. Myself, I'm personally, I like Frank mogul quite a bit. I love the defensive side that he brings out of each team he has. And again, I think we're starting to see it with this team. And I believe that people are going to be surprised based off what I saw tonight. And again, it was a very, very small sample size. But this early based on those possessions, that defense, I think this is going to be a very good defensive team, and it's going to surprise people. And that has to come from. But again, you know, the one year extension, I don't really know what to make of that. I wouldn't be too hard on him though. Frank ogle's not the guy out there that's turning the ball over. He's not running, you know, calling plays that turned the ball over. You know, it's just a lack of chemistry. It's a lack of continuity. The team's not used to playing together. And so you can't blame Frank for that. I think he's going to be part of the reason we are going to be such a good team. So we'll be all right. Again, I know I've said that over and over and over again, but I can't stress the Lakers nation to fans so much. As soon the haters could say whatever they want. But this is preseason, this is why you play these games. So you can have nights like this and it not count towards your record. If this is still happening, a couple months from now, regularly, then we can worry. Then we can look at the coach and we look at west. We look at our, maybe we are too old, whatever it is. But until then, we just have to sit back relax and just wait. Agreed. Yeah, a 100%. In fact, that's what I was just thinking. If it's midway through the season and the Lakers are still struggling, Frank vocal seat might get a little bit hot. I don't think we're going to see a Mike Brown type situation where he's let go 5 games into the season. You're not going to see that happen. I know a lot of people have not been very high in Frank Vogel in general because he hasn't produced pretty offense, right? The last couple of seasons we haven't seen a very pretty or consistent offense from the Lakers and you see other teams have a lot more off ball movement and things like that. He's a defensive guy. We've heard already that the offensive principles are very different this season than what we've seen in seasons past. And I'm still trying to figure out exactly what their offensive schemes are right now. There's a lot of pieces, get moved about, so it's hard to figure out exactly what they're going for in each possession. That's going to become more clear as the season goes on. But remember, they've got David fizdale in now. And I know a lot of the offense is going to have his fingerprints on it as well. And so it's going to take a bit of an adjustment there. So I don't think whether it's the coaches, whether it's a team, for preseason games in is not time to panic at this point. It's not time to freak out and say everything is bad. They're all in for that have been some bad minutes, there's been some bad stretches of play, that third quarter, yeah, the lack of energy and effort certainly concerning. And it's not like we can look at those things and just say, oh, they didn't even happen. But the reality is, it still preseason and they're going to have an opportunity to continue to grow.

"Right, let's do you know what we should do. We should do the master lock of the night. Because we need to get into that one. All right? So let's do that. Let's do the master lock of the night chat. Let me know what you guys think. Fire it off. Who should be put in Chris master's math to watch? By the way, Chris masters is in Poland right now. Wrestling. What up, Chris? Hope you're doing well over there, buddy. All right, night. Let's go. All right, I'm seeing all kinds of responses here. Some people are saying master lock Wayne Ellington. Yes, did not have a great great night. Some people saying master lock, Russell Westbrook. I'm seeing a lot of master lock Lakers players on here. I think that the master block of the night for this one, it's an abstract concept. Turnovers. Turnovers need to be master locked and maybe we can maybe say that Russell Westbrook gets a large portion of that because he had 6 of the Lakers turnovers tonight. But turnovers were a big, big problem for the Lakers. Telegraphing passes, big, big problem, and it wasn't just one Laker doing it. I was pretty egregious when Russ did it. But there were a number of Lakers who did it tonight. Turnovers have got to be fixed for the Los Angeles Lakers. That was a big, big problem here. Again, if you cut that down to a reasonable level. Let's say they had 17 turnovers. Chop off ten of them. That's a, I think that's how many they had last game. If you had 17 turnovers, the Lakers win this game. By a decent amount. If you can chop off ten turnovers, they would have comfortably won this game. But they had 27. Can't do that. Can't do that at this level. So the turnovers, a 100%, I hope this is the worst turnover game that season 27 is so many. So many like 20 is bad. 27 turnovers is incredible. Even for a preseason game. So that's what's got to get fixed. And so that's why they are the master lock of the.

"Right, ma'am. I'm getting put in the Master Lock two nights. So I feel like I should throw a bone to the Rockets fans and not Master Lock anyone from there, just because I know this season has been a rough. Like, it doesn't feel so long ago. That the hardened thing, the Hardin drama was, oh, no, Matt, I'm getting comments. People say Master Lock Matt's hair. Fair enough. I mean, all right guys, you're not going to hurt my feelings, too much. I'll just you know, cry a little bit later. But anyway, aside for my hair, which is obviously a good choice, I think I think I got a master lock the NBA schedule, man. Cuz like I got plans this weekend, and I'm trying to figure out what, what I'm going to go, and what, what time cuz for anyone that's even didn't late. I alluded to this earlier, but the kids get to release the times for the games this weekend. There was a report that the games are going to be between 12:30 to 3:30 Eastern time and then they later backtracked and said you know what actually off some feedback it could just be the games could fall in those times or out of those times which essentially just says they could be literally whenever so therefore I'm going to Master Lock the NBA's Jewelers because again your boy isn't trying to figure out last minute plans. So Chris Masters get to the league office. Tell them to fix those times out right now and release them. That's right. I like it. I like it. It is. Is I know we've got a couple of days but still it's weird to just still have TBD for the games on Saturday and Sunday. So I think that definitely is a good one. I am going to Master Lock from this game. No one from this game. I'm not going to Master Lock anybody in this game and instead I think tonight's Master light goes to the Utah Jazz. Come on. You know, what are you doing? And I know we just got through saying that they they didn't take the game on purpose or anything like that, but they had a lead. The Portland Trail Blazers are not a good defensive team, they had a lead off and I know the Jazz didn't have Donovan Mitchell or Mike Conley but still you couldn't have stepped it up a little bit and got the job done for the Lakers Utah, Jazz. Help us out just a little bit there and get the win over the Blazers. Now, it looks like Utah has sealed the Lakers fate to be the 7 seed and in the play and tournament but maybe it'll come back to bite them. It's a Lakers jersey. Indeed wind up in that eight seat at the end and then the Lakers get the Jazz in the first round. Maybe that would be a little bit of karma after what we saw tonight. So my master lock goes to the Utah, Jazz for drop-off, game to the Blazers, conversely couldn't be Master Lock, the Trailblazers for winning the game. Yes, but that's kind of but you expect the Lakers to go out or the Blazers to go out there and do everything they can to try to win but you also would expect the Utah Jazz to win that game, right? Like they're the one right there, the one seed in the west, they should be walking away with the w and this one and they just didn't get it done. It's surprising that good teams will lose games when they're both cars. Are out, huh? Yes, yes, it is terrible for anyone that wants to complain about the Lakers losing games with LeBron, James and Anthony Davis out to just wanted to go to know, sounded like a specific problem. That's true. That is true..

"Lane from lakersnation.com. The Lakers did come up short against the Celtics but man what a comeback rally they launched the not even the package unit. It was like the third unit you had guys like Devante Kostas antetokounmpo in their leading the charge trying to get the Lakers back in the game came up just short but they did Force the Celtics to put their starting wage back in to a game that looked like it was pretty much over. So a little bit of a moral Victory there. We're going to break it all down plus take all of your questions and comments. And of course give away some lakersnation.com license plate frame. So if you're coming in from YouTube from Facebook from Periscope tells us your questions and comments joining me tonight our own government and Chris Masters, you know, I'm already seeing some comments seeing Trevor's years so fast on these he's slacking used to come on right after the game ended guys. The reason why it took us a couple of minutes to come on is because we did the watch party tonight over on the hot my cap if you missed Thursday, You missed out because you had Chris myself and Ron during the entire game Talking Lakers basketball with everybody. So make sure next time. We do one you come over and join us. It does just take a couple more minutes to to switch over to the post game show, but guys, how are you doing? you know, I It was really depressing there during our live stream for a few minutes as the Lakers were down by twenty-four twenty-five, but give credit to that third unit Devon take a cock Ben McLemore Kostas antetokounmpo tht and Ben McLemore with a five in there. No, Alfonzo mckinnie was in there for a little bit to those five-day led the charge. They were really fantastic brought it all the way back to Five Points from this game at a lot of really good moments. But yeah, this is just an example of the birth injury bug just making it so hard to win games against teams that just have more available Talent. Yeah, and I saw a lot of people in the chat, you know, when we first started this show here talking about I'm mad about that one. And I think that kind of sums it up, you know, like, you know, like Ron said it was getting to the point where I was, you know, getting kind of gloomy in our watch along but I mean the Lakers really fought especially, you know, basically like you were saying Ron Baker basically all our bed were essentially gave it to the Celtic there and went on a nice run at the end and fours Jaylen Brown course Jayson Tatum back in and I don't think any of us, you know, we've had so many guys down and then on top of it we don't have Morris tonight and it's just, you know, you can't, you know, we're probably going to lose but you know, you like to see the kind of fight we saw tonight..

"Some very very cool Lakers aren't celebrating the 2020 NBA championship. And even if you come in third place, you actually get off a lakersnation.com grab bag filled with a lakersnation.com t-shirt water bottle stickers license plate frame all kinds of cool stuff. So make sure you guys check that out joining me tonight to celebrate the Lakers win over the Hornets a close one wasn't always pretty but they got the job done. It's Ron government from lakersnation.com and Angels. They should. Com Ron. How are you doing, man? Doing great. Yeah, not pretty at all this win. But yeah, I guess you take everything you can get right when you don't have your two stars and Markieff Morris out. And yeah, everyone's outfits. Yeah, so you take what you can get Ron I'm getting questions the chat here saying that like Chris Masters got smaller. Yeah. Yeah. He did. Yeah, that's that's that's me cuz Chris Masters in different forms. Yeah. That's what it is. No, Chris. Chris is taking tonight off. He's going to be joining us Thursday night. Actually, I guess I should just announced now Thursday night when the Lakers take on the Boston Celtics. We are going to be doing a live watch along. We're going to be doing that via hot mic. We're going to have more details on that coming up and I'm really really excited and Chris took join us for that. So that means that you can join Chris and myself perhaps Ron will see if he's able to make that work out and we're going to be watching the game right alongside all of you. So that's going to be a lot of fun and then of course, we'll still have our, New Jersey. Will post game show? So Chris is taking time off, but he's going to be with us all night on Thursday. So it's going to be a lot of fun run. You know what you mentioned it. This game was not pretty but at the end of the day when we step back as frustrating as the loss to the next one's you look big picture. They went four and three on their road trip without LeBron and without Anthony Davis. You've got to feel good about that, right? Yeah, I mean if you can go over find any stretch of games without your two best players, you have to feel good about where you are. Now, I'm sure the Lakers do feel good. They probably feel like they you know, let a few slip away and she could have more wins but I think I think his fans you have to be happy seeing four and three above five hundred on a road trip without LeBron in a d. Yeah. I mean it's it's tremendous tremendous change stuff. And this is exactly what we're talking about. This is what the Lakers need and again not always going to be pretty but at the end of the day they get the win and if they can just continue to tread water and that mean I'm talking about playing 500 basketball game is all you need to do right now..

"A lot and I said we have a lot of different options. I'm getting a lot of different comments in here about who should be put in the Master Lock and I love that. We're getting kind of variety so Matt, who do you have as your master lock of the night? I mean, I know there's the obvious answer. So I'm going to try and avoid it. I like to you know, I like to go against the grain on these things. So I I'm going to pick Nick nurse and the reason why picnic number is because when the game is very clearly out of hand. Me and Trevor were actually talking right before this call about how the game was basically over but I had to tell Trevor that hey the game still going on because Nick nurse decides to challenge call 20 seconds left with the Lakers are basically ten points with no way of them coming back. So shout out to Nick nurse for you know, delaying this broadcast a little bit. But yes, I do not agree with challenging calls when your team is clearly just about to lose. So that's my pick for today. Yes, especially when we're waiting to start a show. Come on big nurse don't need to be donated not consider it. All right song Imagine like I will go with the obvious one. I'm going to say OG anunoby, right and I'm seeing a lot of people saying Master Lock the rest I'm going in fact, just came out right now are from our own Brian Ward Dennis Schroder on his authors. Issue with o j a n o b said just unnecessary. You've got to go to the WWE with that. Yeah, that was a wrestling style take down why you would try that in the middle of an NBA game wage is ridiculous and it's not only a master like because he tried to pull that off because it got Montrezl Harrell removed from the game as well. Cuz tries had to go in there and stand up for his teammate which I one hundred percent support treads on I would rather he do that than not do that. So of course so you wind up losing Montrezl Harrell as well plus router gets taken down OG anunoby very very worried. The should be put in the Master Lock. It's only fair. You pulled a wrestling move on Dennis Schroder Chris Masters puts you in a wrestling hold o g anunoby so we are going to be sending the master of your way..

"Dennis Schroder came over and helped him to the locker room fingers crossed. Hopefully everything is good with with West Matthews. We did get word that due to this this neck issue that he's got back. He was not going to return to the game. But again, hopefully this doesn't become a long-term thing and I know he's been up and down this season. This isn't about his play on the court or anything like that. This is about hoping that he's all right, and he's and he's avoided a serious injury here. Again. We know this was something that was bothering him going into the game from the previous game. And so, you know fingers crossed Prayers up West Matthews. Hopefully everything is all right there. And again guys, I'm not looking at Twitter right now. So it's possible that something has already come out about West Matthews. I'll have to take a quick glance and see what I can find. But for right now. I don't see just with a quick curse cursory glance. I don't see exactly what's going on with him tonight. By the way our own Ryan war did mention that Frank Vogel said the Lakers had a gem of of a defensive performance tonight against the Kings. Yeah. That's something that certainly stood out. You know, Harrison Barnes went off in the first half second half pretty much crickets from Harrison Barnes. I mean look at the Lakers had 26 points get 22 and 1/2 time the Lakers held them to four points in the second half. He was going nuts and the Lakers defense made the adjustments they needed to and I you know what, let's let's use this because I am going to step on my own toes here and and take away my own Master Lock in the night. So let's get into that right now. Let's do the Master Lock of the night. Let me know your thoughts who did You think should be Master locked just throw it in the comments section. Let's go. Thursday all right, the Master Lock of the night so far if any of you who are new to the show, and you don't know what the Master Lock is Chris the Masterpiece mastered is one of our our co-hosts. Here's here's out wrestling right now, but his finishing hold in the wrestling ring is the Master Lock and so every game we pick somebody that we would like to see putting Chris Masters master lock. Sometimes it's a Laker the Lakers are playing. Well. Usually it's an opponent. Sometimes it's an abstract concept like turnovers something like that. So Knight know tonight. It's what it should be and that is an opponent. It is somebody on the other team that's getting Master locked from me. And so when I look at at the Sacramento Kings and I look, Get what they did tonight. I love that. I've got a few really good options here to Master Lock, but the one I am going with. De'aaron fox de'aaron fox is getting put into the Master Lock. That's right. The guy who helped bring Alex Caruso into Lakers nation's Consciousness and took the love of Lakers Nation. If you remember way back in the Lonzo and kuzma summer league year Alex Caruso filled in for an injured Lonzo ball and outdueled de'aaron fox in Las Vegas. I was there to watch that game and it was a lot of fun, but de'aaron Fox tonight 5 for 10 shooting over for from 3 to turnovers 12 points was a minor 24 on the night was even two or four from the free throw line. The Lakers defense put de'aaron fox in the Master Lock extremely inefficient shooting. I could have gone buddy hield as well 3 for 11 shooting 149 from 3, the Lakers the Lakers themselves through the master lock on the Kings backcourt was tremendous wage. Mendez defense like Frank Vogel mentioned. It was a gem of a of a defensive performance and I love it..

"So every night we pick one player. Sometimes it's a Laker. Sometimes it's an opponent with sometimes. It's even Kevin abstract thing where we pick something like effort that we think deserves to be put in Chris the Masterpiece Masters. She was one of our hosts are on the show put in his finishing hold in the wrestling ring. So we usually get some pretty fun ones here. So Matt is your debut Master Lock, who are you putting in the master lock from tonight's game against the Warriors? Shoutout Chris Masters. I'm honored to be doing this tonight. You know, we've said it we've said turnovers a lot tonight. So I feel like you know, that's kind of a given. I'm actually going to go a different direction and I'm going to say unnecessary technical fouls. Montrezl Harrell has been called for a couple now the past few nights where I was just like come on man. Like let the guy express some emotion basketball is not a emotional game you can you let the players vent a little bit on the technical he got tonight. He just disagreed with the call. I thought he should have been called for an and one which honestly he should be getting a lot more throughout the year, but just hasn't gotten the call. So I understand him a frustrated. All he did was really shake his arm at the rep and then leave and walk away and I thought that didn't deserve a text. So yeah Christmas is if you're watching this, okay. So so Master locking the technical foul so dead in a way, that's really Master locking the officials, right? That's that's where we go with that one. I like it. I like it. Somebody ouch we have he's next up on my list. Kyle kuzma. Somebody is talking about your luck and Kyle kuzma's airball. I'm not I'm I'm not going to go there. I'm not we're going to pretend that didn't happen not going to go there. No. Yeah. That's yeah did not deny somebody. Open a door, you know, whatever but the way I'm going with this for my masculine tonight. I am going to James the misnomer Wiseman cuz clearly can't be that wise if he is throwing elbows like this not get off James White. The only reason why he didn't get kicked out of that game tonight for the elbow I believe is to Alfonzo mckinnie at the end of the game was because it was the end of the game. I was garbage time didn't want to go review it. They wanted to go home. Otherwise that should have definitely been reviewed Heathrow. I mean, it wasn't like the one against res You could argue. Okay, it was it was it was inadvertent off kind of did the extra little shrug afterwards it looked like maybe through it again, but didn't make contact them that one Whatever fine right? Just just let that one go. He threw that elbow at McKinney and I was I was not happy to see that I was especially not happy that the referees didn't take another look at it. So look James Wiseman young player. Rookie a lot of talent quit throwing those elbows man dead. deserving of a Master Lock tonight Oh somebody thrown in Wiseman learned that from Draymond. We have seen a lot of times this season where Draymond is kind of taken him under his wing..

"I agree with the players. They're just a player-friendly organization. I mean, we've really kind of developed a reputation for this. I mean, that's a big reason why I think you know, LeBron James is a different case obviously cuz there's a star player but you know, it's good to have these things working for you. You know what I mean? Like a d wouldn't even look at Boston after the way they treated Isaiah Thomas, you know, I mean another example, so, you know, I don't know if that fits into your argument but those are some of the things I think about when I think of the Lakers in terms of being a player-friendly organization who's you know done people right for the most part. Yeah, I think the Lakers yeah, they're they're known as the the team that treats their stars and their role players. Well, you know, you know, I'm not one to slander the page even though I absolutely am one to do that. They this is kind of the the Anthony Davis stuff and everything that has gone in with their with losing Gordon Hayward losing Kyrie Irving. Losing all these free agents. This is what happens when you treat players like assets instead of people that the Celtics have been doing that for years. They've been treating their players like they're a war chest of exits to be dealed out at any time. Whereas the Lakers say. Hey come here. We're going to let you play however, you want to play and you know, we might win a few chips here and there, which is a good spot to be in great spot to be in All right. I've got a lot of people praising Montrezl Harrell in our chat right now. I've got some people talking about Kyle kuzma and how well he's played. I see a little busy. Oh, I've got to come and hear the Chris Masters should have been a world champion Chris we are we're going to we are on the bandwagon. We're going to continue pushing that thing into until you were in next year's Royal Rumble. We got to keep that wrong. Yeah, I mean, I think I'm about due now, you know Carlito came back at this past world rumble and you know, a lot of people got fired up and were like, hey, it's Gotta Be You next year. So I think you know, I think you're right. I think I just need to spend the next year campaigning for it and we'll see maybe 20 22 will be my year. Just make a few phone calls, you know, we'll keep pushing it on social media will see if we can if we can get that done refund. All right, guys, we do need to do the Master Lock of the night. And I think I think our chat is probably going to agree with it or so. Let's let's get into it right now..

"I would I would imagine Caruso probably is back from a jam finger, I guess depends on how bad it really is, but I would imagine he's probably back on Friday and I think the Packers defense could certainly use them. It's it's a noticeable loss right Anthony Davis. You notice him not being out there Alex Caruso you noticed offensively, especially him not being on the floor. Yeah, I think they said it on Monday against the thunder on the on the Spectrum Sportsnet broadcast. They were saying that Frank Vogel told them that if it were a playoff game and out screw so would be playing but since you know given the situation there's absolutely no reason to rush him back. Just let him be a hundred percent. Wait until he's 100% And then put it back out there. I agree agree. All right, let's get into the master log of the nighttime exciting cuz we haven't talked about this one. We haven't even discussed who some possibilities are so so Ron's going to surprise me just like he's going to respect everybody out there watching. So let's get into it. Here we go Master Lock of the night. And off after all right the master lock up the night Chris the Masterpiece Master's finishing hold by the way, I believe he's going to be back for Friday show. He's going to try to stay up extra late for you guys and said he might just drink a lot of Red Bull but let's get into it the master off of the night Chris Masters finishing hold. Who is it from this game? That should be Master Lock for on. You know on on Monday I said it was late game execution by the Lakers. And today tonight. I'll go a little more traditional. I'm going to go with Darius bazley okay of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. I'm pretty sure he had 16 rebounds. He had 17 points. He he was a menace he was killing the Lakers from All Phases and tonight 9:30 points on four of 15 from the field seven rebounds and two turnovers. He was a non-factor and they only had eight players. So when you have a players and one of them is almost dead in factor, it's it's really noticeable. So he he's definitely the master light tonight. All right, I like it. Yeah, and he was a team low- twelve in terms of plus-minus on the night. So good picking and 4:15 shooting from Jake is basically I know the frustration from fans probably has to do with the energy the Lakers had especially early on But I think if we're going to pick a player since we've been going so abstract lately and we've been talking about the Lakers attention to detail and their energy levels and all these different things that we've Master locked. It does make sense to go back to a player and if you're going to lock somebody although I saw some comments the guy with the mullet and needs to get master lock. He was good tonight. Kevin Williams so good. I actually thought about it, but he he was I mean, he killed the Lakers..

"Pull him out of the award race and obviously it's still very early but now that we are what 10-ish 15% almost of the way through season I think LeBron just might be the leader for the award right now obviously a long ways to go but he's been tremendous totally all right guys let's let's wrap it up there two days coming up on Friday Lakers vs Pelicans we get to see some of our old friends Brandon Ingram Lonzo ball Josh Hart all those guys rolling in it's going to be fun going to be a fun one and and I can't wait to see it Lakers vs Pelicans on Friday will be doing the post game show right after that one as well don't forget between now and then come join us on the flick app we're talking Lakers basketball all day every day so if you enjoy coming in and talking with us right now having these decisions these conversations about the Lakers joined the flick out because we're doing that all day and you're talking with other Lakers fans you're talking with me Chris is on there as well it's a lot of fun so come join us on the flick at there will be a link in the description down below once we finish this live stream over on the YouTube video so come join us there you can also make predictions and win cash if you are accurate with those predictions so we find out how much you really know about Skip all all right everybody. "The season and I mean the kids twenty so it's just it blows my mind. Yeah. He's super expensive. I'm thrilled again not expecting this out of him every single night, but what he can become and the trajectory that he's on right now, man. I mean, I don't want to get too excited. But the bath were seeing just what eleven games now that they've played continuing on that trajectory by April May by the time we're starting to talk playoffs man. THD could be a major part of this rotation if he continues to grow and continues to learn at the rate that he is right now. All right guys, appreciate everybody coming in and joining us everybody from Facebook from YouTube from Periscope awesome questions and comments as usual will be doing this again in a couple of nights when the Lakers take on the Houston Rockets one more time. That's right. The NBA is doing that thing, you know where you go to a city once you play a couple of times and then you leave rather than bounce back multiple times that is part of their covert protocols by the way fingers crossed. We're now starting to see games lost due to Covent protocols. Obviously the the Rockets opening game this season got canceled, but then we saw on a game. Between the 76ers and Celtics get canceled because the teams are postponed I should say because the teams didn't have enough players. So it does appear the NBA is kind of on Shaky Ground right now with all of that stuff. So hopefully there will be a way to get through it. I know I saw a report earlier that some Executives around the league are hoping for the NBA to suspend the season for like a week and then get back to it to kind of let some of his oh over but for right now the NBA intends to just kind of power through it and hopefully hopefully they're able to do so. All right guys, everybody make sure you do stay safe out there and appreciate questions and comments. Once again Follow Chris over on Instagram at Chris Masters 310 on Twitter at Chris Adonis. "Your home for everything Lakers just made tonight, but has always it's never just me really suck me and all of you. I thought I was going to have Gary Sheffield Junior and Chris Masters tonight, but both of them got called away to other things. So it's just me tonight talking Lakers basketball with you. I have a feeling even though the language is just extended their winning streak to four games for game winning streak here. There's going to be a lot of negativity in the chat tonight 94 to 90 to win over the Memphis Grizzlies tonight in a game that took a closer than it should have been and required probably a little too much heavy lifting from LeBron, James and Anthony Davis. We're going to break it all down. We'll talk through the whole game. So if you're coming in from YouTube from Facebook from Periscope job Going to be for listening to the Apple podcast version of this. Don't forget leave us a 5-star review over on Apple podcast and give us your questions and comments over in the review section there. Appreciate everybody joining me tonight. I feel good though. This was this was a bad game in terms of energy and and all of that. It was an ugly game, but wasn't a fun game to watch shooting percentages for both teams. Look was not was not fun 94-92. It's like we went back in time what twenty-five years or something like that? We went back into the nineties here. So this is it was a rough one. That's for sure. It was a rough watch but I feel good. I've got a new mic. I've got a new microphone. I'm I'm excited about that. I've got a new microphone I get to use tonight. So maybe you guys will be able to to hear the difference there, but I'm already seeing the comments coming flying in. About how sloppy the game is. Yes. It absolutely was a sloppy game. It was not pretty it was not a pretty it just going through the stats LeBron James 26 points eleven board 7 assists ridiculous. Ridiculous Fade Away shots. It wasn't just the Discord 26 points. It was the way he scored them following away from the basket to even touch the rim on how many of those shots how many of those shots were the Lakers offense completely broke down and they gave the ball to LeBron and said LeBron save us, please and he did he did he'd be fired up these turnaround jumpers just bottom off. Like if you're the Grizzlies, you've got to be thinking this was our chance. We had them we were right there. No ja Morant no Jaren Jackson Jr. We were right there and then LeBron spoiled the party frankly the Grizzlies out the Lakers in this one and we can talk about how difficult it is to win two games on the road that certainly a thing and something to be to consider in the other team's Arena, but the Lakers game LeBron at 26 Anthony Davis had 26 as well ten boards for says three steals three blocks. Eighty was fine as well solid 10 for 20 shooting for of ten. We got to talk about that 1 to 10 from 3. We'll talk about Anthony Davis's three-point shooting but then you look at the rest of the roster where nobody else go Dennis Schroder had 12 points, but he was five fifteen to get their nine points for Montrezl Harrell. That was it. Nobody else of know really put up any significant stats five points for starter ku's Kyle kuzma only five points 3 for Marc Gasol though. He's not a big-time scorer or anything like that. Matthews four points for for Talen horton-tucker. Just no one else really got going in this game and it could be. Hey, it's the end of a road trip. That's always a factor the getaway game that game right before the end of a road trip when you're about to go home. That's yeah. That's a tough one..
