They were indicted by the special grand jury looking into that school system's handling of two sexual assaults by the same student. And now the family of one of those students is speaking out. In the months after the first assault at stone bridge high school, the family of the second victim agrees with the conclusion of the special grand jury that the second assault could have and should have been prevented. The lawyer for the family says multiple red flags were raised and ignored before the girl was pulled into an empty room at broad run high school and sexually assaulted. The family says in the 14 months since then, nobody from the school board LCPs administration or the girls high school has reached out to apologize, offers support or even see how she's doing. Neil Logan stains. Montgomery county public schools is preparing to launch a mobile app called MCP student strong. The app will give students the ability to report incidents of bullying, harassment, and intimidation to the office of student welfare and compliance by filing a form within the app. Chris Kramer, who heads MCP as his department of communications, says the app was actually designed by students. It's very near, ready to be published. We met with the students who are now graduates from Blair high school and often in college. But they designed this. We didn't do that. We helped them with the editorial content The new app comes just months after a county wide antiracist system audit found reports of race based bullying and discrimination throughout the school system. And literally I go, CEOs, three and a half hours or three plus hours, and then you go to butler and I'm not kidding, you know how long Brad Stevens is practices who are at butler? How long? An hour and 15. That's insane. You know, though, I will say, coach paint was trying to build a program. And a culture. And you know, I think when you look at that when these coaches are first starting out, like all the guys that we just graded, you were trying to hold on to your job for as long as you possibly can. So I understand why it's like, dude, if we're not practicing for the full allotment, we're not getting any better. And we had a young team and I think there's a lot of guys that look at that. Now, the game is also the transfer portal makes it a different animal. There'd be guys be like, I'm not practicing for three hours. Made an announcement to the staff in a meeting, saying that he will not receive severance, we forget that all these employees at CNN, particularly the ones on camera, they all have a morality clause in their contract, and if you do something that breaks that clause, it is over, so I think Chris has a three or four year deal $6 million a year. So there's a few years left on that deal. He wants his 6, 12, $18 million. However, they're saying not a chance. Do you think you'll get any I don't. I think it's over. I don't think he will, but now I'm wondering rob do any of the hosts on this show have a morality class because if they do, I'm in a lot of trouble. I'm gonna send my lawyer a note right now. "He just came in with the mentality that, you know, I'm a keep working hard and I'm approved myself when I step on that court. And that's what he's been doing. All year long, you know, I seen him, you know, my freshman year coming out I knew he was gonna be really good and you know he's just dominant. He's just he's hard to stop and you know, he comes in. I shoot at every practice and I see him, you know, on the other floor. You know, dawn is work. So, you know, I believe is that, you know, a lot and it's just a testament to how much work he's put in over the years. I want to see him. I know he told me he played baseball growing up. Imagine him baring down on you. It's 7 four off the mound. What that would look like? That's pretty interesting. Thank you. But taller. It's crazy. The thing that honestly, the thing that blows me away about him the most is watching him shoot free throws because I've never seen a 7 footer that shooting free throws. It's like most guys are gonna get hacked, you know, Jack and you go down the line, most big guys. And with him, you can't, you can't do that. He's one of your best resources. He's got great touch. He's got big hands, like, great, great touch on his shot, man. He's darling. Why are you guys the best team in the country? We just got so many pieces. It's hard to stop when you have a great team with great pieces and that all play together all in as a team man. You know, it's just a hard team to stop when you have that type of time on the team and you mean you stop one, you still got to you still got Brandon Newman and you still got, you know, Zach Edie, you still got trivial Williams. You still got junior, you know? And Sasha, you know, the best shooter nation. So, you know, I just think we just got too many pieces and everyone just in together. Like, that's the one thing to me that Purdue has that you can look around at those other top teams, right? Gonzaga, they've got drew Timmy. They've got homegrown. They got some good guards, nem hard. Duke, they got Paulo, they got Mark Williams. You know, maybe Trevor kills, but he settled down a little bit. What perdue has is something that nobody else has, which is you can put the ball on his hands, Jay and I be in sick, go make a play, period. Well, I thought against good saga, duke did have that. I thought they lived in the pain, but it was a different story against the hotel state. You're totally right. Jay ivy, his decision making and transition is as good as anybody in the country. And he's in the lead athlete is vertical as how many guys not just at perdue but in college basketball have wind milled in game. I mean, that list is like Sean Kemp and I mean guys like that. He's on that. He is going off one leg this year and I mean, that's just there's not many guys that have that type of bounce and ability. He's phenomenal. I think he's he's got a great team, Purdue has a great team, but he is an elite player. He's going to make so much money play. It's just crazy. So they've shot the hell out of the ball, too, and that was our big question mark probably going into the year a little bit. They hadn't shot it well. And I think they underachieved last year. Sasha is a good shooter. Isaiah Thompson is a good shooter, didn't get a ton of minutes, but it seems like he's kind of beating out Eric hunter at that starting point guard, Jay navy shooting in the 40s. "In two thousand fourteen twenty one year old chris kramer's and twenty two year old niece and froun leave in amersfoort netherlands. Shortly after graduating from university. The friends became roommates and co workers. They work together at a nearby cafe as they saved money to go in their dream trip a six week adventure in panama tall and athletic leeson was an experienced mountaineer an amateur photographer. She was interested in exploring panama's lush jungles and beautiful landscapes. More outgoing than li san. Chris apparently wanted to immerse herself in the local culture by meeting new and interesting people half a world away in addition to relaxing and exploring. Both young women planned to do some good during their trip. They arranged a volunteer with children at a local school during their stay on march fifteenth. Two thousand fourteen lee san and chris had bought their tickets booked their hostels and set off or boca. Del toro panama getting to their destination wasn't easy between flights and layovers their journey from amsterdam to costa rica took almost twenty hours from costa rica. They took a taxi and navigated the local bus system to get to the panamanian border. Finally they hopped aboard a ferry and sailed into boca. Del toro on march seventeenth. Though their journey was a hassle. The first two weeks of their trip felt like heaven. Boca's del toro's sat on a small island off panama's east coast surrounded by the crystal blue caribbean sea. It was paradise complete with sun sand and good company. Both lee san and. Chris kept diaries during their trip. Which is how we know about how they spent much of their time. Rather than following strict schedules the two women lingered at meals with fellow tourists and enjoyed the flow of panamanian life. Lee san wrote that they mostly spent their days learning spanish. Though it was difficult lease and felt thrilled every time she recognized a word in conversation.
