"Is on higher alert than normal today in the district as the president is getting ready to speak outside the White House Tonight, it comes ahead of another political call to arms tomorrow. No parking signs are plastered up along both sides of 17th Street and also along Constitution Avenues in there in effect today and tomorrow, But only one of them happening around here matters to the vendors selling shirts and masks around here pretty much more. Which Chris Johnson and every other vendor along 17th as a table set up with a peril. All for tomorrow, you know, I came to Deliver a message of black lives matter in equality next to him. There's fencing in front of more fancying benches normally accessible to the public or no sandwich between those layers of chain link. Digital Economy: Digital skills

"Remote working made possible by the Internet is extended the talent pool that companies could draw on. Though as we're here for some that has meant bringing work closer to home at the same time geography still seems to play a role in the market market for digital skills hubs like Silicon Valley and its imitators serve as beacons for digital talent can companies who seek to employ them must contend with eye watering mm salaries and rent on this month episode. We discuss the dynamics of digital skills exploring how digitization itself is shaping their supply and demand. My guests Are John Director of education at UK Innovation Foundation Nester and Chris Johnson CEO and Co founder of talent acquisition platform on cute. I started our conversation by asking. Joycy what nesters research tells us about the digital skills that will be in high demand in future so nestor has done quite a lot of research into what are the skills that are going to be in high demand in the future. We've looked at forty one million job bad birds and looked at. What are the skills that will see see an increase in demand? And what are the skills that are going to see a decrease in demand and we noticed that some of the skills that are the basic digital skills those skills which associated with toss that or jobs that are going to see a decrease in demand are required a requiring lot of digital skills else but there are some jobs like teaching chef which will require which will see an increase in demand are actually seeing a law persons age of digital skills that are required so based on our analysis the top of the most promising digital skills are things like animation multimedia the production design and engineering research and quantitative analysis with some of the more advanced digital skills raw than the basic digital skills that can be automated away. The research shows that just having these technical skills additional skills not enough you need creativity. Collaborative problem solving communication skills alongside the digital skills as well. Chris does this match your experience. At on cubed what do you find are the digital skills skills that are most in demand among US employers yes it does and we tend to focus in particular on some of the skill sets that joycy mentioned and software development and engineering and data science. And then the related sort of sweet of skill sets required to build web driven businesses. That's where most of our work is. Based and two professions or skill sets I think are growing notably fast one is is of course software developers developers which gets a lot of press and attention and even civic attention as cities. Try to figure out how to make more of these jobs. available and accessible and and that is projected elected to grow twenty one percent in the next ten years and these are US Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers but the growth is pretty similar for data science but on the data science side. The Bureau of Labor Statistics is projecting a nineteen percent increase over the next ten years. So pretty fascinating in that if you go back to the ninety s when there was this massive sort of trend towards outsourcing. The thinking was at least in the US economy and certainly elsewhere. Swear that jobs were not going to be available in the US and now twenty one thousand nine going on twenty twenty you have the government itself projecting these really really massive increases in the number of jobs available here in the US so we can't discuss skills without talking about education and training and we've seen seen in the last decade some innovations in training. I'm thinking of online trading resources sort of massively online nine courses open courses and also scoop skills boot camps which often tend to be focused on digital skills. Joycy in your your experience experience. What impact have these new method tab? Which of the most effective and not only on the availability for of skills for employers but also about the accessibility of careers in digital technology? I think it's a really interesting space because there are lots of innovations happening in that space. So you have these mooks. Massive Open online courses like Cor Sarah Dusty index but there are also hold range of other online courses Lincoln Learning And others they have an interesting mortal some are like A university which is online and people can access it anywhere and then there are others. That are much more like a trade school. But the biggest challenge with these online courses is the law retention rate So hundreds thousands of people sign up but not many complete or not many go on to get the certification. So Nesta's doing some research to really looking at what motivates adults to learn. And how can you give them the right information advice and guidance so that can continue on this lifelong learning journey johnny. We're also launching a career tech challenge which is specifically looking at addressing this issue of not enough people using the online tools to upscale and rescheduled is to say that these things haven't had the impact that we're expecting for five years ago I would say it has had an immense impact because lot of people who couldn't have access to high quality education can now access it and without mooks that wouldn't be possible but in terms of really helping people transition position two jobs it still hasn't delivered on that promise and there are some new models you mentioned boot camps that have come up which give three months of training and but they cost ten thousand thousand dollars so it's super expensive and there's Avai small subset of society that can actually access these boot camps. There are some other innovations that are happening which are absolutely free and the only criteria forgetting his motivation and your potential to work hard and one example of that is equal forty two based in in France and now they have Opened in US and the model has been replicated in many other countries like Russia and many countries in Africa. Gotcha Chris so in your work. You connect candidates with employers. Have you seen these new approaches to skill development having an impact so far on for example the supply supply of skilled candidates on. I think all of these models have fallen way short versus the headline promise and certainly the the idea that a lot of investors astor's dumped hundreds of millions or billions of dollars into I think the numbers of people that have either found new career. You learned a new skill set outright through self directed online training is actually quite small and there certainly are success stories but I think we as a as a people might not be ready to learn that way I think on the other hand the bootcamp model which joys Aegis touched on in an laid out some of the different models and structures that we're seeing in the market now I think that has been effective and to her point. The original the original model is quite expensive and therefore prohibited for people. If it's ten thousand ten thousand dollars or or more per person but the model itself has been quite effective and I think what people are seeing out of it is a chance a two in a concentrated time really learn a new skill set that that can get a job and it's it's not perfect but we see plenty of bootcamp grads. Ads End up with very successful career as even at at Mike. Company on cubed our lead software developer came from a boot camp. She was a teacher and worked in education before

"Lendl. With any time that he was inbetween between points he would never be inside the lines of the court and that was his way of saying Amman among off in Tennessee is such a wild wild game of momentum in. It's probably days when you're in that fifth set it's WHO's managing their energy best. Yeah so I think I have a friend who Who Does some local coaching and he has a a runner who I've worked with Roma physical therapy standpoint in this guy? His Times are so impressive. When he's when he's going through his training sessions but when competition hits he always fades in the back end of the marathon? You can look at all the data you want. It's how do you get him to manage his energy over the course of that race because he goes out the right pace and everything's going along but like something falls apart up here we're talking about triathletes in this. You know when people ask me you who are non triathletes. who think that you know doing doing a races is is really cool? Will and don't know a lot about it they'll ask. What are the sports and triathlon again? What's the order of those? Those questions always come up and I said well there's five sports in traveling like that doesn't make any sense and like their swim. Lim Bike run. Think an eat and if you can't do all of them during that day you're not going to get to the finish line or you're you're gonNA perform sub optimally. Yeah for sure all right. So that's That's the second question. Third question on three questions is who is someone in the field of physical therapy that the audience should know more about someone in the field that the audience I should know more about I would say I had. I teamed up with Jeff Morton MIC guys in Hartford this rising tide conference and I had a lot of conversations with Mike Guy Never met him. So we're putting this conference together or there's a lot of and he's in Jersey and you're on the west coast. Yeah a lot of money at stake out of out of our pockets doc. It's our wives are like what the hell you doing. But I think Mike has such a great vision for the field in his whole shtick is population healthy. I use talk this guy. He has a vision. And it's worth the if you ever get a chance to sit in on one of his keynotes. Seems like he's giving a lot of them these days in. That's not by no accident. I think he's up to goods to think there are a lot of people that are just doing incredible things. I apologized to anyone who At a lot of respect for I didn't include there but that was one person. Yeah I didn't. I didn't prep you for that so we'll put up. There's Mike Twitter handle in case somebody wants to follow it to its. Mike is in hard on their. You're off off your off the hot seat that was Three questions from Arias medical staffing again WanNa let people know running on resistances the book. It's out now. Where where can people get their hands on it? What's the price It's it's an e book right now. But you coming to kindle Yeah so I'm just waiting to go through the whole application process I just self publish this It's it's on my website Chris Johnson. PT Dot Com. If you go under the products Tab It's the first one listed running on resistance if you type in Chris Johnson. PT and running on resistance. It will take you there as well and you know. I think a lot of times people like. Oh Wow that's expensive for digital book but it's a digital textbook. I I would say that I personally invested probably over a thousand hours between all the research and writing and writing technical staff is not easy I I would sit and I would sit in this room sometimes for five hours and I would write one page. My wife has like a you need to get a new job. Yeah well I tell you. We went from creating an APP to to write a book. Maybe next we'll just build a house from scratch with your bare hands or something like that menu. Do something real easy. I was planning to have a you know a really really sort of extensive traffic on season and I got into this horrific accident in February. I took the time that I generally allocate towards training which just the upwards of twenty hours a week and I start channeling that into Into the book. This stuff is for anyone who's looking to doubt really any project it's all about security and bringing things full circle it is so easy to get a project sixty seventy percent of the way and then it just sort of you know flat lines. Yeah so so you have to power through at the end the last thing I want to do before we do. The parting shot is so. Are you familiar with the term. Be Hag your spell B Hag Vha G. It's it's my big hairy audacious goal. It's that thing that's like probably so big. I shouldn't be four but that's what we do right. You break your collarbone and you're like I'm gonNA write a book that that was probably your your yearly early. Be Haggle. My next year is to qualify for the seventy point three worlds. I'm always heaven on so hooked up with my coach Kevin last year for for run run at next year because next year. I'll be thirty nine but I'll be competing in the four at the bottom age group but forty to forty five. It's terribly competitive age group. What's one thing thing I can do besides read your book? What's one thing I should really focus on to To get me because I'm usually I dunno top fifteen top twelve in my age group dragging my I bought across the finish line. What's what's something I can do to get there? I'm wedding myself right now. Find out my rink schedule and make sure we don't sign up for the same rate. Awesome where you go for that too. Are you doing the one forty eight in the seventy. Now I I have on tearing. I'm playing to I've unfinished business with Conan so well. I have a plate and screws in here right now. I have to get that removed. I haven't been in the pool for a while but yeah I I want to get back to Kona all-race general Scheduled to do to to seventy point. Three's a fall and then try to raise Kona otherwise have to take out a loan to afford all the you know the racing. So what's one thing that you can do. You gotta be able to run off the bike. The people who are qualifying. So you have to. You have to be strong on the bike and be able to run off the bike. So take look at. Some of Stephen Sealers work. I think that would help you. But you know that's why have coach Kevin knows all this stuff. I mean we were just talking on the phone with him the other day but yeah I think that you have to be training consistently. You can't have these hiccups where you're training and then all of a sudden you know you get sidelined for a week in. It's always the run. We wanted to do this book. You know for the the triathlon community. But we didn't want to bite off too much with the with the first go around. It's a different sport right. It's not running. It's running off the bike. It's a different thing. Yeah so you asked me about like why do I focus on all of this. You know fluid motion. It's because long course racing is a game of economy for anyone who wants to watch the IRONMAN world championships. It's this Saturday. I think red bull streamed live last year but in it's GonNa be amazing because Lionel Sanders if he is going to win it. It's this is his a year but this guy is such an incredible. He's the greatest thing for the sport because he's sort of like street fighter of a triathlete but his running economy is is atrocious and over that distance. That's going to be really. What dictates whether or not he he pulls off the win? You know you saw this last that year. I'm you see it all the time. Craig Alexander and Christly ETO UC. With Patrick Lang in in Lionel Sanders. Last year. You have to have solid economy if you're GONNA win that race so you know all these drills are in that book I would say practice. Some of those. Push the needle with them and don't forget to take a rest day here and there a lot at all right so I'll give you full credit now since we're doing it a year before it happens. I'm trying to qualify for the seventy point. Three not the one. I'm not trying to go to court. I'm trying to go to the seventy point. Three world so fingers crossed man. So what race are you you looking to do. I don't know I've always done racists. Based on places I wanted to go and hang out not necessarily on the course and the time of year. So you know I'm GonNa get into that Latte and what's the best way to get into that you hire coach right you hire somebody who's done that. So that's what I did and I think it there is there is a bunch of races In the in in the US. But I would say keep do. Ah Pick races that you want to go and travel. I mean that's part of the experience. I think yeah puts you in a good mood in. It's less of a job at that point. So you know this stuff is much. The trains growing stuff should be fun. Excellent all right. Well the new book is out right now running on resistance. The website is Chris Johnson Dot Com. Where you can find that as well last last thing we do on the show Chris? Is your parting shot. This is the parting shots. The parting shot is brought to you by rock tate. They're more than just a tape company. There are movement. I've been company. Rock tape helps athletes every level. Go stronger longer with the best kinesiology taped. Cutting education and fitness support products. Rock tape wants people to move more and move better. Find Them Online at rock tape dot com slash medical. If you had one thing you want to leave with the audience what is fear resource for folks all right. That's why we got into this field and try to give back in try to realize did Day's end you're trying to bring about a change in someone's life people a. Hey how do you find the time to put out all these videos and trying to be a resource. I've been the recipient of a lot of stuff and in also be cool with people people all right. That's easy to do especially in patient care. Patients come in there pulled away from what they really want to be doing. In terms of hobbies family perhaps job job so a lot of times third dealing with pain they can be irascible now. This is not who they are so cool. Be Patient in. That's contagious Chris. Johnson P. T. Bold predictions for the 2019-20 fantasy NBA season

"With the season starting tonight Jay world has put together there are three bold predictions for NBA year and it starts with the different superstar in the east it does the reason why Philadelphia Seventy sixers don't have a top deal because Simmons has not arrived all the way yet so here's my prediction Ben Simmons will finish this season in the MVP conversation I've seen the jump shot this summer I've talked to his trainer Chris Johnson he assured me that this is a confidence level for Ben Simmons I think they are going to dominate the east he will be in the conversation grill can shoot the ball he got a very scary player let's go out west now everyone is looking at l. a. what are you saying the Lakers and the clippers will not win the western conference I have the rockets Utah or Denver a win the western conference low management with the clippers where you're GONNA do with Kawhi Paul George Injury to shoulder Lebron James Ad Start off strong I think Frank Vogel kind of limits they're playing time I saw it gets to the regular regular season allowed me recipe the playoffs to be clear you're talking about finishing with the number one seed in the West not necessarily not coming out finally let's go to the team that has made it to the NBA finals every year in recent memory I've been saying this people call me crazy that's fine the warriors will not make the playoffs they are the fourth Bobby Marxists tweet this out they have the fourth youngest roster in the nba the fourth youngest roster now Steph Curry is tremendous I think he'll have MVP type caliber year but still is deal obamacare to loath having him and curry on the court at the same time it makes them a defensive liability draymond green they need him the score they started the day Glen Robinson Third Marquis Chris I mean that's a very and team in the loaded west one of the big questions about them we'll be Klay Thompson how soon he can come back and how effectively he come back and look at West is so low February march that's a big thing look we brought this up earlier the disparity in power between the two conferences if you put golden state in the east they have a chance if if Klay Thompson were to come back in February they could finish with one of the top more seeds in the eastern conference in the West they will agree with you they will likely miss the Blakeway Klay Thompson we'll come back the question is will he find that stride right away and I think after we come off a tornado wild find that confidence what eventually happens they flip Diangelo Russel for the piece that ends up working better in that group next year the year like after this one they're right back they

"They were sitting at the one spot. They lose one game. They decide they're gonna make a tree traded chris johnson knowing that they didn't need him because they needed another wing player which they traded with goes ballers in god morio which now you see that lineup working for you know number. One team still makes a treat to get better. Even though chris johnson is was a great player put him. They felt they didn't need him. They needed somebody. They needed. Amid plan shoot it from the draft to what you said week six a lot changes. You know you can put together. I'm not mad at at gibson now. It shows me he's smarter. He's he's more of a technical smart player because he's passed up two four pointers when he's already hit a four point <hes> four in which and so he's more of a point guard than he is scoring guard and and and he's gonna take the the better percentage that he thinks is and that's what you can tell by great point guard instead of taking again on a forty percent or he's a landis if he can get eighty percent which which is what you need players like this i before we go so now is forty eight thirty six joe also just sell the single season scoring record. Are you surprised no the big asking him up this whole episode markers you know he might take that is more of a step back back act joe okay. Oh i would have been issued a stopover. Here is the great play because we've seen them game. Winners doesn't joel at this point. Uh has played has played the puppet master game so well. He's giving you every every part of basketball. The the he's giving you game winner step backs hit and now they pass the great side near noticed that grace sean before win because who i seen in the quarter already too so in being in the corner was gonna hit that i didn't have to look at the site known it was a great shot because already knew who it was but that's what makes pros pros that will make all all understanding that this puppet basser has played a season exactly how we know him from hitting winners they know him from hitting the the crowd is hitting winners so when he drives in tomorrow your move back doors that has was the perfect topping on the i think we it was a great indie because the came oh the assists for the winter you know so either way. He could trophy out from the game. It's like it's like it's been a great shooter. We know you are deadly right. We know if i give you. The shot is going in now that one dribble pull up that pump fake now that becomes tools to your bag so now i pump fake. You jumped one dribble paula. I pump fake. I pulled to the side. I pump fake you freeze. I suit that's how that works and that's how joe's mid range game for the three four turnaround for the post up for the setback all of it works because he's played played it all seasons goto and you have your counter to that so they can't take one thing. We got something else in they can take those two away. You have your counter to that. County counts as of right now by triplets goals fallers. It has made me the the game this game more exciting. This playoff race more exciting. What's going to now. We have the third game which is coming up as a three headed monsters. I already have four losses not if they win this game off all hell breaks. There's all hell breaking. He goes now you have you have two teams yet to three teams with three losses and the rest of the pool at four laws of fighting four. You're one to spot now now. If three headed mosser's get beat that's one team. That's not in it. If trilogy loses all hell breaks loose again because what also it's gotta. Have you guys gone so you better. Go get ready for this. Yes okay we came. We saw we can't get on this episode. Play by play inside the no show podcast here in dallas. I lay upon continues the enemies.

"You don't need to jump hook and just dump old. Judge will get a little bit closer to the mascot shot. You gotta shoot shoot. Young fellows like you know what gives it like. That's that's a shot. He's supposed to take because you've already hit the one shot and you've already hit a shot shoot. There's an excellent you know. I mean drake passage are you'll get the three anyway but that's a shot if you play. That's your shot. You take take your shots because that's frustrating. Big into teammate kicked it to you and your open you pass on it. You gotta remember. I'm kicking it to you. I hoping you shoot that shot. I don't even know if it's hoping yeah like on time shoot. I need you to shoot yeah. That's that's what joe's the great at that mid range flow. That's a hard shot too. But what i'm saying is if i if i trust you to take a shot you pass. It's on and i'm not gonna unigate. Have you noticed what made those bombers good rule wrote up like my thought it up but you see you see that kind of went away from the bigger role in the second half when ricky and goes but but triplets made an adjustment by taking can al harrington al i'll jefferson jefferson couldn't do the pick and roll so the pig baby with my baby <hes> john. We're chris johnson and gibson. That's great because they're switching. It is the fourth i in your sooner but don't you think that okay pass on this shot his mind. He's mad about that. He's bothered by sex. He just made a great extra when he'd go into the backpacker play but i didn't today aw you're if you're a great shooter to events like. Don't be afraid to shoot shots. Can you practice over and over and over like would decide because he's a shooter in he's suits. I can't get mad at you now. I'm giving command is all on you. You take a setback so that's one thing. I've never yelled out a player for shooting the side. I didn't shoot because now next play. I wanted to high so you you. Your defender is gonna look at me again. Gives him was open tomorrow wide open so you'll give you can say that but it doesn't matter you're open to begin with your mario. He's a point expert. Okay you are you a you are expert so same thing is if you're in the post and you got a guy that's owning s. Five ten this guy on if you five ten feet away from the basket you know past that thirty five out you can clearly get that shot on that shit guaranteed bucket. Why would you pass on. That's it. That's taking you know what i'm liking. Lisa leslie more and more based on her strategy seeing nobody's who send for this. We're going for eighty one. I mean they're. I don't know who joe hasn't come out still now. She don't care about a record. She's going to play her game. She's played all all year because you know as a coach. You know. It's one one of those things where i don't really need to win. I can give my team extra momentum by getting more confident like our jefferson young par. Go get some more time. Let me i might need you guys to call on you guys but at the end of the day next next week next week and i think that's how next week is another game and we're just going to go out there and play our game every week. She's passage he after four that time but you might hit it again. That's his spot that week but i'll say this though she's going all in on this. If you're up there up to to give you guys similar and right now you gotta understand to think about this like <hes>. Joan him are sitting at the dude..

"Sponsors right there Stewart labs, so Dave got a little carried away last week when we had the ice storm and the snowstorm and Dave decided he was going to go out and shovel snow for half hour. I was out there for two hours. I was feeling really good. But boy did my muscles. Get sore. I'm old guy got sore afterwards. And I use their natural health product there paint formula. Rub it on. Doesn't smell not greasy. It was outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. I I swear by it. I encourage you, Stuart S T E U air lives dot com. I want to point you in a couple of directions here. Number one is our YouTube channel, we have a recent video up about the surveillance system. Encourage you to go there. I also to encourage you to go to the YouTube. I posted this past week it's gone viral. It's about adoption and abortion in the future of our country. It his made an really important impact. I believe on pretty much everybody who's seen it. And I know that's a bit of a. Over the top statement. But the feedback I have gotten has been enormous. It was really based on my work in healthcare and my network in healthcare and speaking to my colleagues about the recent legislation in New York and Virginia Rhode Island New Mexico just to name a few and. It also discusses the issue of a Bob adoption. The feedback as I mentioned earlier in the show has been incredible from women who earlier in their lives had had an abortion performed and were very complimentary about how the issue was handled in the video. And the fact that I'm one of the first state from what they tell me to mention that the fact that when an abortion occurs. It doesn't end in that room. That. It stays worth with that. Woman for years and decades to come. It's a very important issue that I've been told from the people who followed back with me. Has really not been brought forward before. And then we delve into the issue of adoption. And discuss the fact that. Why is it so expensive? Why does it take? So. Why is it such a? Morass to adopt a child in this country. Again, from the folks that contacted me they felt that it was a discussion that and presentation that was long overdue, and I felt I had to do it because of my work and prevention of injury to begin with in particular the prevention of children's injuries, it would be very hypocritical of me not to delve into this new legislation that has been brought forward. In addition on our site, Dave, Janet dot com. Nick release who is one of our IT director of IT information technology. He also hosts a show called the department of advanced research, Nick utilizes a system called the ultra system, which is a predictive modeling program. Nick was the first person who told me Donald Trump was gonna win the election. And he told me that I think it was at least six or seven months before the election. And Nick has been utilizing his ultra technology to be able to look at what's being discussed on different platforms around the world. And then he gets a direction of where things are headed in particular this week. He put a piece up about mandatory firearms in insurance to very interesting piece. Controversial, but I believe puts you well ahead of the curve to know what some of these deep state players are up to. The. The other point. I want to bring forward is that we not only focus on what the deep state is up to. But we want to focus on staying positive. The reason why bring that forward as many people that are in the freedom of men are very frustrated and very disgusted now. Look I've been involved in the freedom movement for over thirty years. And there are some people that have been involved in this for three years or three months, and are some of the people screaming the loudest about how frustrated they are. Well, if you're frustrated after three months or three years imagine how it is after thirty years. And watching and actually those of us that have been involved in it for so long. We have been targeted for our freedom agenda. In particular myself, and my family were targeted under the Obama administration by the IRS harassment base audit why because of my opposition to ObamaCare, and because of this radio show. And that's not supposition. That's essentially what was told to our representatives when they met with the IRS. We have to stay positive really positive and a good friend of mine. One of my best friends in the world happens to be really well known in the music industry in particular in country music. And. His name is Chris Johnson. I've spoken about it before Chris I've known each other for years. Actually about five years ago. I took the initiative to adopt him and his wife Kelly as our bonus children. I came home. And I told my wife Libby, I said Libya, I did something today. You should know about. She said, oh, what did you do? I go. I I I I adopted for us. Tune new kids. What you did what Kristen Kelly. I have adopted him as our bonus children. She said well, did you ask him? Or did you like tell them that? They were adopted I go I'm not going to ask them. I just told him. I mean, what are they going to say? No, she goes what they say. They didn't say, no. Chris is an incredibly an incredible talent. When you meet him, he's actually really shy and my friends who I've brought backstage to meet him before a concert. I tell them when he's on stage. He's a cross between Garth Brooks and Mick Jagger. And when my friends meet him that haven't seen him on stage. And if they walk away, they go, you know, Dave, you're usually a pretty good judge of character. But Chris is really nice guy and he's down to earth, but he's really shy. He's not garden Jagger combined. When we go out, and they sit out in the concert and about one song into his concerts. They all look at me. And they go who is that guy. He's like he's like Carson Jagger combined. But he's an incredible talent. But he's also an incredible person. And man, let me give you an example. When he went to Nashville, he was the ripe old age of nineteen. He had a full ride to go to university of Missouri. I one in his family to go to college. He grew up in a double wide trailer dirt poor, and he got a full ride scholarship valedictorian of his high school class to go to to go to college and day before you're supposed to go to college. He went to his parents said, you know, I'd really try to want to try to make it in Nashville and country music. And didn't initially go over very well. But his dad finally said look. You got a year. And see if you can get a deferment for a year from the university of Missouri. And if you don't make gotta go, and he got it for a minute. And he went to Nashville and has beat up car and got to Nashville, and he and and on Broadway, the main street there, this is a really testament American, fortitude, and courage and dreaming big and daring to fail. He he went to these hockey talks these bars have live music almost twenty four hours a day in each one. It's free. There's no cover. It's incredible. If you've ever gone, you got to go to Nashville gotta go to Broadway and a talent is unbelievable. And he he went to the most famous place where willy willy Nelson started and many others tutsies and woman manager and he winter and he said I like to audition and she looked at him. She said, no, you don't. No, you don't. No, you don't and they wouldn't let him audition. And he went to all these places and never auditioned in any. He he came back to that woman said listen, I am going to head back to where I grew up in Missouri. But I want to be able to play one song, and he did and he played Johnny cash's fulsome prison blues brought the house down and she brought him on. And he played six four sets a day sixteen hours a day every day for a year. And that's where he started. And now, he's huge. He was just inducted as a member of the grand ole Opry. And when he did that night. I had the Keith urban and asked him and afterwards, I had an opportunity to sit down and talk to Keith urban, which is actually he's a great guy in very interesting. And he looked at me, and he said I thanked him for help and Chris in his career. And he looked at me said, you know, what Dave he goes. He's the real deal, and he's the most honest guy around because he's a hers hers working guy around. And you know, what he's the entertainer of the year. And that was the night Chris was has to be in the Opry about a year ago. And then he was inducted a couple months later and Garth Brooks was the one who asked to indict Chris and in in duck, Chris in induct, Chris into the Opry and he did and afterwards. I was talking to Garth Brooks. And. I said, you know, thanks for being so good to Chris. And and he looked at me goes, you know, doc. I might have won the award for entertainer of the year. But if there was an award for entertainer and a half of the year award. It would go to Chris Christie's put out a new single. And he's given me permission to play for you just came out yesterday. Phenomenal song called good vibes. I believe this song should be played in every government building every government office in our country. And if it was looped permanently looped playing I believe finally someone would get off their rear end and stop producing these these bills like the green new deal and produce produce legislation and produce services that help every American to my friend, Chris Derrick hit it good vibes..

"Chris Johnson going over what we'll see on our tour, including how you'll be able to breathe with all that car exhaust. Johnson says cars moving through and natural airflow from the sound will do most of the work. It's traffic slows down. If there starts to get a little bit bad. The jet fans will fire up, and we can't art officially create that draw through the tunnel. What if there's a fire with a lot of smoke? Johnson says they're redundant systems. Can take care of that to Seattle fire tried to overwhelm our system. It was crazy. We fired up the fans and the fire department was never able to overwhelm our evacuation system for the smoke. If you have to go through one of the sixteen evacuee. Doors on each level of the tunnel. Air pressure keeps the smoke from following you into the refuge area where there's enough air for two hours. If you can't climb the stairs to get out at the north tunnel operation center. Ryan Harris, KOMO news. And you can see the video tour of the new tunnel on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook at Ryan, Harris, KOMO all right? A couple of things you might think are more luxury items for the new tunnel, but they're really part of the safety systems tunnel system engineer, Tariq Al Zere says you'll be able to listen to your radio all through the nearly two mile run, and we can override it constantly. Your message to tell your calm down. And with your car onto the hill is coming for you. But we have a major fire we will also exit. How's yours is your cell phone will also work in the tunnel? But there's no WI fi. So kids are gonna have to live without their net. Flicks for the roughly three minute ride. I believe years ago. I went through a tunnel. I think it was in Switzerland. It's like a twelve to fifteen mile long tunnel. So this is a piece of cake. I know I just feel claustrophobic thinking about a fifteen mile tunnel, especially when it goes under the water to think governor Jay Inslee is looking more and more like he's going to run for president RoH Inslee has not formally declared his intentions, he has created a political action committee, and he's hiring staff for a potential run at the White House. His consultant Newman partners is advertising for a social media manager digital director in regional fundraisers. "Radio sixty six. Hello there. Everybody in good morning to your richardneer with you on the fan until ten o'clock. We've got Brian rast Kona and the co pilots care taken his through till ten and Evan Roberts time. We've got Gary Myers joining us to talk. What else the best weekend football all year coming up, and that'll be the eight o'clock hour, and then Brian Costello talking about the jets and their situation coming up in the nine o'clock hour, Bryan, of course, New York Post in our reporter for the jets and a tell you I know there was a lot of outrage amongst jets fans this week regarding the hiring of Adam gays. Why did you bring him in Graz Mike McCarthy was out there? He wanted the job. And I think the bottom line is I know. This is going to just rank all the Benin goes of the world, but you have to trust the process in that we weren't in the interviews. We weren't there. When the questions were asked and answered so, we don't know the internal dynamics of this decision. Now, we do know that the Baylor coach, well, you know, I wanted to pick my staff, and they weren't willing to let me do that. And I haven't really heard the jets reply to that yet if they're even going to bother to reply to bat, I would imagine the answer might be something like we didn't say he couldn't pick his staff, but we said we wanted input on it and final approval of it. And that would be something that you would expect a general manager in this day and age to do. Coach given total autonomy. And he's never done it on a pro level before he might bring in his buddies any might bring in his college, friends, and whatever and they may not be ready for the job. They may be you know, let's just one of those things where you you tend to hire people you're comfortable with. Nepotism or anything like that. But it's just these people I've worked with so naturally McCallion and to a lesser extent. Chris Johnson, I'm sure he would take. Advice on this would say, hey, look, you're going to bring in a defensive coordinator or an offense coordinator, whoever. We want approval of that. You just can't bring in anybody. And he's oh, no. I do that. We're not a fan of arranged marriages. Okay. I don't know that the jets said that they may have said, no, we're gonna pick your guys like it or lump it, and he refused that now if that's the case. Right to walk away from it because that's a recipe for failure. The coach has to have big time input into his assistance. And we've seen it happen before Bobby Valentine was an example in Boston. Where he didn't have full control over his bench coaches and guys like that. And he got the feeling that they were undermining him with management that they were basically not on his side. They were spy is if you were they were going to the management and tell them the tales out of school, and maybe not always supportive of Valentine's position. So you do need to have trust in your assistance. And you certainly don't want to be in a position of thinking that this guy is angling for your job. And we've seen that happen before with assistance where they've gotten a job and. No the first day there. Well, I would have done this a little bit differently. GV offense is pretty good. But the defense thanks in your head coach he's supposed to get, you know, take care of both sides. He get that too. But engages case in this is. Wrote this on Facebook. I think anybody the jets hired the fans would not have been really really happy with unless somehow Bill Belichick said, you know, what? After this year. I'm leaving the patriots. I want to come to the jets. And even then there would be jets fan saying. Okay. So Brady's out or whatever. Or he sees at the end of the patriot dynasty. So he's jumping on board with a freshman quarterback. I imagine. There would be a minority of people thinking that. But look the bottom line here is you wanted a guy with NFL experience. All right. So it may be came down to gays and McCarthy as as two of the best most viable candidates and obviously in McCarthy's case. Yes, he did seem to want the job. From all indications didn't really want interview for any other jobs in this one. But at the end of the day after the interviews, they weren't comfortable with him for whatever reason. And I can't tell you what that is. I mean, I can I can say or the game management issues too conservative. They can get along with Aaron Rodgers, blah, blah, blah. We don't know we don't know what the factors were. And they've jets aren't gonna tell you. It's just bad for him to not hire somebody and then bad mouth them. You don't want your organization. We hired this other guy. We liked them better. That's all I can say. And, you know, call reporters will ask questions, and maybe they'll get internal leaks. Shire mccarthy. Well, he said this interview disqualified or more we looked at his background. And we didn't think he could handle New York, whatever it was. All right, so gays with a twenty three and twenty five record in Miami. And three years ten and six the first year losing seasons next couple five and one against the jets some players didn't like him. Brother-in-law's down in the Florida area. Who are big dolphins fans? They are happy to get rid of Adam gays. They're saying I players didn't like our good break. We don't want him around prickly personality all that kind of stuff. Okay. Well, number one. Whenever you don't win. And you get fired. Fans aren't going to like you may look at Todd Bowles for years. Got it here. Okay. They got him out of here and Todd Bowles gotta have a prickly personality. He just didn't have a winning record and a record worse than gays and a record of one in five versus gays and one could make a case as we did at the beginning of the year that the dolphins didn't have the kind of talent that the jets had. Now, we can argue that to them home, but bottom line is you beat them. Bottom line is you came up with some innovative plays during those games. If you watch them. He showed himself to be as you heard Joe Willie say disciplinarian can't I can't do anymore. The players. There's at little lingering B A N P with Joe the players anyway. And we had a coach. Before that. Now, the defensive coordinator the Tampa Bay box, and you heard him during the update was that's considered to be a disciplinarian Todd Bowles who's considered to be a player's guy. And you know, the drill in any sport. You get a players coach he fails you bring in a disciplinarian. Get a disciplinarian Tom Coughlin. You bring it a players coach somebody who's going to be a little more player friendly younger understand the players point of view a little bit better. That's what always happens had an offensive guy. He fails you bring in a defensive guy vice versa, usually. So they've got a guy who's a little bit tough on the players and. You're not running a popularity contest with players. You don't want your players to love you necessarily. You want them to respect you? And you want them to do what you want them to do. And if that means reacting out of fear or reacting out of motivation for beer job. Whatever it is. As long as they do the job. It doesn't really matter. Now, would I rather work for a guy who likes me treats me like a man? And and gives me respect, of course. I would who wouldn't nobody wants to be treated like a baby. Nobody wants to have a disciplinarian. You know, looking at his watch the second you walk in and going. Hey, you know, come in here a little bit sooner. Yeah. But I I'm doing my job. That's not enough. Nobody loves that. But sometimes that kind of approach can make you better can spur you want to do a better job. And then there's the other side of this. Where Peyton Manning says it Adam gays is a smartest guy. Best quarterbacks guy. He's ever worked with for what it's worth. I'm Payton manning. He may not know a lot about insurance. But he certainly knows a lot about quarterbacking. One would think. Very high on Adam gates made a phone call may just the fact that the gays probably said, hey Payton, can you help me on her Mike a call recommended me or maybe Peyton did it on his own. I don't know. But I would imagine he was asked to make that call regardless fact, that he would. Peyton Manning could say. I don't wanna get involved with this thing. It's chad. So I don't know them. I don't know the people I don't want to get out there and do all that they did it. So I take it as an honest reaction. So I'm okay with the hiring. Am I going to say it's the best best job that they could have gotten best guy that they could have gotten who knows? Maybe some assistant out there could be cliff from Arizona for all. We know. They would have been the best guy. I know we don't know until we see. All right. We got lots to talk about great football baseball stuff. I haven't even gotten LeMay who yet which will do in a moment..

Derrick Henry's Fantasy Playoff Outlook After Monster 238-Yard, 4-TD Game

"Right now. His ass fan. Cheering because Derrick Henry is coming back in the game for third and goal. He could he could get his fifth rushing touchdown of the night. It's third and goal. The titans lead the Jaguars thirty nine Derrick. Henry right now. Sixteen carries to thirty nine four touchdowns the Jaguars stuff Dion Lewis on third down. And they were partying like a big stop in the Super Bowl. Right. The second down play Lewis get stuff. Jalen Ramsey starts flexing. Like, this is the greatest thing ever gets questioned via Tennessee Lyman walks over. And then he flopped he went and he did a full Rick flair. I'm flying to the ground referee, not buying it. Playing violins and the entire office is beautiful. Jalen Ramsey flexes. After a third down stop. Second down stop his team is losing by twenty one. And a guy could set the record for most yards rushing the game against your defense. But now, hey, good, man. We just made a big stop in a goal at the one. Just unbelievable. We're really one of the more ridiculous things. Yeah. That we've seen in some time from the Jacksonville D. But you know, that's about his chest is I guess they've been able to be this entire season just to absolutely absurd. The offensive line doing a great job for the titans throughout this game. Just owning the line of scrimmage. So they get a big stop there. I guess quote unquote, and for the moment slowed things down, but Henry comes back in. We'll see how they played third. Jason. I got to take something back that we said we actually thought CJ two case game was against the jets. Because obviously every good game anybody has against the jets. But what if I were to tell you tonight's game and Chris Johnson's game. We're both against the Jags were they really? Boxing.
