Is a thing other people might use but I believe he is credited with when I take my shirt off the divorce rate's GonNa go up in this second town or the good for nothing down. He's he's a he's a Oh i. mean he didn't invent southern by the grace of God, but he used to say that all the time too. He was a top to bottom good wrestler he he was an incredible Promo really good in the ring. He wrestled bears he did everything you could do of Eric from the air he was in. There are a lot of guys. He's contemporaries that made it to the to wwf made tons of money got real famous. He was not one of those guys, but he was good or better as good or better than all those guys and. I think the big thing about him is that he was a really really great teacher and I tweeted this by all accounts. One of the best human beings in the wrestling business every wrestler that got on the jumped on twitter after he died had stories about. Like what creek edge got on said that like he just drove him in Christian around during their first tour when they had like no cash in their pockets punk I know Chris Hero who's a friend of mine? "But it was different opponents. Who Different points if you're talking about like About A pairing right. Bunch with you you have. Take this and run a loop with it and make a bunch of money when really nowadays, it's if Youtube and all this, you know social media didn't exist yet. You could probably pull that off. But like back in the days, you could pull that off but now it's like, Oh, I once it goes on Youtube once it goes on social media, you've seen that match. I don't know I'm trying to think who the big names of beat now that you could do that with like fuck I'm having a hard time even everyone's signed right now I feel like everyone's somewhere who the biggest names in indy wrestling right now. like as far as just like not in a major company. Depp got a big name that. Yeah. I think on the indies I think I believe. So I think more horses I think warhorse is really put some some money behind his name and a little bit Dan Yeah and then that Blake Christianson I think he's got a lot of a lot of hype behind him right now same thing with that Alexan. Well, let's. Let's do this warhorse and Dan Housing Right? They're they're friendly friendly. They do a lot of stuff together teams if they went down to I think that's two names that are big enough that people like Oh i WanNa see that I wanna see that gimmick possibly possibly. possibly. Who I think, right. Now. So I think the bigger names right now are all gimmicks. Yeah. Maybe. I am the Dad who blew the fuck up did he blow that much thinking I see a shit everywhere. Do you I I don't see his name as much as I see warhorse. Dan How's and Dan the everywhere. Rules Walmart. Guys. The just stuff man they got on shows I can't fuck with that dude like. I understand like these guys get a lot of us on Youtube and on on social media because they do these INCR- like these ridiculous spots inside of a Walmart right now are these guys really trained now? They weren't originally. So that Kinda add or no man like maybe I'm just hey, what's up a costco tomorrow maybe I'm just hating dude, I don't know. I see them getting booked over. Other wrestlers that have really put in the time and the effort, and you know trying to pay dues and all that kind of stuff, and then you see these cats. You know do these stupid silly spots inside of a Walmart is what I'm saying like you know whatever your thoughts are on the whole process. This to me is the David arquette thing. Yeah, right. It's the same thing with the I saw these guys on Youtube. They got five million views I want to check out what they do. You know what I mean. It's just the it's just the co not even the car wreck it's just the. It's the IT'S THE SUPERHUMAN A. Exact same thing. So it's it's the. The reality TV you know what I'm talking about, right? No. The dumb shit that jumps off things and and you're like Oh that guy's the objects. What's the? WHAT'S THE ICP? Guy Yeah. Yeah, same thing but like if he was booked on a survey, see that. But. As a wrestler, do I want to do as sheep in the business very much but the businesses always been cheap Really cause us to have to. Earn your way into the business way back. There has always been celebrities doing shitty spots in wrestling and football players doing shady spots and wrestling I disagree. You don't have to disagree just the way. When did celebrities getting into the business start? wrestlemainia one no. Now, it's better off for premiere on who else when Adam look it up celebrities I'm Andy Kaufman Andy Kaufman but that was believable and it also, it was one wrestler. But it, but he was it was a man you can't discount. It was huge completely unrelated but have you ever seen that Netflix documentary that they made when they're making that movie with Jim Carey. Heard about it and never see she'll watch it Jim Carey like basically lost his mind on the set of this movie. Beasley thought he was. It's very good though I heard Yeah. lawler wonder like Voller legitimate constant in the face lawler was like Yo this was a work. So you got me there you have one celebrity. That was in the business. Yeah who else? All this started after Wrestlemainia one no. Yeah. No COP would you said to with Kaufman but I'm saying That was one incident but. Not Celebrities from before. But I know I've seen shit from way back I don't know about that. Do you had talking about Hogan got his leg broken on his first stay. And they were like, okay. If you come back, we'll fucking train you now I understand that I'm saying as a part of the business there's always been a celebrity aspect to like, oh, come in what would come and watch this come. This is the draw I don't think it was common until Andy Kaufman was like the first one I mean I'm looking right now you can trust me or not. I don't Johnny. Kauffman was like the. Team back in the seven I think Vince. Vince really is the one that that started getting. Vince wanted he wanted yes. Wanted to be looked at more as a mainstream product there rather than a southern wrassling. Mr T. was involved in. WRESTLEMAINIA, Cindy lauper was involved in. Let's true. So that's just what I think laureate. He proved me wrong with Andy Kaufman. Fifty years, there's been a lot of celebrity involvement which is pretty fucking I mean wrestling's been around one hundred years and I, get it I get it. I want him to get it and you know this is just kind of. You know as. As much as it sounds like we're shooting ourselves in the feet right where we're. Taking people that are Youtube Stars right that elbow drop goddamn microwaves and saying, cool get in the ring you get a lot of us but the guy has no idea how to really put Mash together right? Same thing with these walmarts I don't know who these guys are but I seen what they do. They do one spot inside of a Walmart. Who knows if they not put together a match but I do feel bad if that if they take the spot of people that have really tried to learn the art of professional wrestling and have really put in the miles and the work that sucks but. If that's the type of booking that companies get to put on those people never had a shop for that spot. Anyway, it was never there spot. It was never. Content, for if the company is the type of company that's going to book those Walmart Guys Or. INSERTED. Was The guy's name who uses just? Do Videos read jump on shit that's what he was saying superhumans. Those kind of people ruin wrestling. That's my opinion. Right? We enjoyed I saw that guy got booked on his show and I was like. I'm out I'm not interested right because we enjoy wrestling a certain way I'm not telling you. I don't mind wrestling I just don't like people who are literally dove on a bunch of I can do this. Dive on let me ask you this right. Trained I'm saying you. Could get you and I by that logic you and I will get more notice if we did videos where we just jumped on Shit let me ask you this. You don't like the kid right you don't like it I don't dislike the person. He's but who do you lies? Can we not talk over each other please who and who's the guy that you? Like who's an indigo? "Week. Fucking crackling your Goddamn Bell. You know they should bring in now that I'm looking at the list. Just refreshing. My memory of everybody that was released Rousseff Day. Yeah but I don't. I think that all those releases are not up yet they none of the schick stand up in court. This idea of like I fired you and you're not allowed to work for anyone else like if Tony wants to pay the fucking legal fees they can get around that because that is that is utter bullshit at you can breach contract. But I can't right but I mean I think that what everybody knows that if WBZ wants to they'll just fucking make it hard on you you know even if you can win the case they'll they'll drag it for long enough where it's fucking cost you more money than it's worth you know but I have the time for the bill right. I mean if you signed a contract that says no matter what happens if this contract terminates. You can't work anywhere for ninety days. Then you might be stuck but no because there's a precedent because that's what happened with listener. When he went to go to new Japan and then they went to court. The judge was like this is fucking bullshit. Yeah no because he said I'm going to leave to go do football and they're like fine. Just don't wrestle anywhere else. "And there's like slicking most of the replies to even just take a look at the podcast and most of the podcast, people are suggesting are their own. It's like, oh, okay. I'm gonna a void most of these, I'm going to see what like actual listeners are suggesting the most and try and go off of that because even still like I can't just go off Twitter, followers who knows that people actually. Listen, I it was just a big mistake. Well, it brought us together. So, you know all all's well that ends well. So, you know, in creating the character of all ego Ethan page because from the beginning of you being an independent wrestler, you've been all ego like this has been how you've portrayed yourself from the start. How did how did this character come about? How did you know this is this is who you wanted the world to see you as when you stepped into the ring, man? Oh man. Like, there's so many versions of all, ego to and like it's almost now not even there. No, I don't to say there's no actual definition of what I'll ego is. It's kind of just like what point of my career at, and it at this point, people just hear all ego, and they just think of me, it's almost past like why I decided 'cause I'm not like sometimes my characters not even ego maniac. It's just like oh, yeah. You know that's all ego. Or like you know that's the rock. He's not actually made of stone. It's just a weird name that he has, you know what we know him. Well enough that we're okay with it. Yeah. I see. I think that's that's where we're at now. But, like the origin of the character, I was huge fan of Chris hero, and he called himself a young knockout kid, and I was like, well, I'm not like a big strike a guy. But like what, what characteristics, do I have that I could like Porsche to the front with my name, and I was like, oh, I love talking trash. So I was like wolf, I'm an ego maniac. I could be all ego instead of like part, go part confidence part whatever I'm full ego. So my original monitor was going to be the all ego kid, and I was like, maybe I'll just scrap the second half of that. And just stick with all ego and makes sense. That makes perfect sense. Did you walk in, in real life? Did you walk into independent wrestling with an ego where you one of the guys because you always hear these horror stories about Yogi kids that start young and it does it does it destroy your career? But it certainly slows things down in the beginning. The you'd nail nail on the head. Well, I thought I was the greatest wrestler of all time on the first day I pretty much stopped going to training and acting school pretty early like a couple of weeks to a month when I started traveling on doing things my own way and a little bit of that hasn't really left me. But people react to it a little differently now because I've made a little bit of a name for myself. So I thought you know, he's just trying to do zone thing when I first started that was not the reaction. It was like, oh, this guy can't believe he's doing his own thing. Should you look back on you? When you see kids now that are doing what you did, then do you have sympathy for them in the sense you go? This is what I would have done. Or do you look at them like who does this punk think he is? No. Honestly, I do. You're like, I, I don't know if you saw recently, I had very quotable controversial tweet about this whole handshake epidemic and professional wrestling. And like I think there's too much stress put on young wrestlers 'cause they're still trying to figure themselves out. But there's these weird rules and guidelines that are like, I guess enforced, but, like the really like pushed on you, and you get into wrestling, like you have to do this. You have to say this, you have to stand like this walk like this acceptable..

Because I remember that verdict was Was into into. it was probably what two thousand eight or nine or something like that. Maybe ten around that time frames at the year that we're talking about two dozen. So, but that was the verdict had to be two six to at least. Yep. They wanted like Alex Riley's at that time which dude. Hell, yeah. On paper that looks. Great sounds great. But you know, you want Kevin ones Sammy zan's pox combination every couple rows. Yes. Needs to be like a plethora of. You know, the these not like manufacturing assembly line. Yeah. Of what arrests are quote unquote supposed to look like like take offs Riley. But eventually that change like in the four years there, and they started signing like the Chris hero. They started signing. Indie guys because they wanna to make annexed Brandon. I just think they wanted like guys that were over to make that over and you can't just do it with right with manufactured creative players. So you so you saw that. And I was like dude if either I'm going to like best case scenario, I thought like I'm either going to be with like best case scenario would been like he'd Slater. And they don't care because it's like you can say the F word is lot as you want in front of a four year old. They just laugh he's being America. The F word is not a thing here. They don't really have. We don't have the swear right and like half of the Japanese that use the F word too. But yeah, I think Gators just like the first guy who just gave me a chance, and then kind like was patient too. Because I just feel like an annex t it was like all right. CJ parker. You got dreads. "If this one's going or coming. I think this is vibrating ache. It's like there's a little baby. Come out. Out Jericho and his wife had a come to Jesus moment. I think she probably brought him to that. Come to Jesus moment. I would imagine Jericho clearly recognized that there was no way he'd be getting out of this in any kind of good financial capacity. So we're just speculating, but Jericho looked at the Bill of what half would be and he's like baby. Tag. Money, and they broke it Jericho only lives off the fuzzy money. He's like, Jay Leno style. But like called me a stupid for the last time. They just made it very clear, no uncertain terms. Like, okay party. Boy, listen to what happens if you think you're going to get out of this. And then he was like you wanna be on Instagram track. What are we got over here? Shout out in. Thank you. Tony lions. This has been a long time coming he sent us these shirts, and he thanks us up and down for this is a very common note, we get from people about that. We got them to at least be curious to check out their local indie, which is sexually. Thomas. Keep going. So he says some some shirts from Nova pro wrestling, which is super cool. Yeah. They're really cool shirts like the logo the logo is is really cool. Looking it doesn't necessarily look like a wrestling shirt, which is a plus for me wash. This a couple times as the word wrestling. But it's not obvious. You know, there's not like a, you know, guerrilla fucking of face and says, you know, like shit Hauser's. Major. Thank you to Greg painter. He said. Cool demolition, autographs shirts, some CDs. Oh, this is what I want to tell you guys a DVD of his local indie couple of packs of cards. The this the the CDs. We got our super cool. This one is his buddy. Mike martin. It's all it's called foo- gaily. Well, it's all guys songs with with a ukulele band. That's fine. Glad it's just drove away with the car. The CD is in the the display or in the car. That's awesome. Yeah. And then Jonathan lapel. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He has written a book of poetry based on nineteen ninety seven pro wrestling. And he was kind enough to send us some. And I think you can still get them over at his site. And I think having a sale. Related halloween. So go over there and check out the Pell. Yeah, they got a bunch of cool pins and a poetry book. And and I think the they're doing create all kinds of cool should rate guy. "Yeah. And then head to keep opening doors at, would you guys shut up? We're trying to fill Ventoux stuff so we can get to you a limited amount of time. So I've been in some very small spaces with Mick Foley, but Mick gets it. Did billion doing gig. Yeah, he did it every time and Billy Gunn lists Bod cast travelled together. Say when Mick Foley McFaul is cheapest gone world rat along with me. Bad ass. Billy Gunn is grouchy individual you've ever met in the morning until it gets a gallon coffee, and then he's fine. But every time I shake Billy guns hand, he's got these big ass. Brick hands. Yeah, for sure. Brick handed son of a bitch gimmick, but I was like guy like Billy Gunn grabbing you. Definite names to shoot. Yeah, yeah, for sure. The only guy that can overpower you. Yeah, yeah. No, for sure. I felt the handshake planes billion. I've become friends since we've. We've wrestled together maybe two or three times since then, but he loves it because he, he like he likes it. It's easy and it's over. Working guy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you know. So we have a lot of fun together. He's actually become one of my favorite opponents to have, but yeah, like you said, he, he loved. He likes working hand, gets it. But yeah, he's he's got some bear pas on him. Hey, speak to me about a Bogan yourself because I know you're extremely busy independent seems on fire and a lot of gadgets come to your unlash of just. Breath, fresh air for me talking to guys like you because I was always under territory based system. So how you guys work, you know, booking yourself supplies, Puceiro set, right where you are. And we talked for two hours couple of weeks ago. It was just fascinating that a guy can be the business for thirty years. Reinvent himself. Come out this Frankenstein type dude, and do only crazy videos, shocking himself batteries, picking a Bali's weights with this. This d Desta whatever's name is. This is fantastic, but got, he was telling me what you were just saying about talking to promoters makes you to land getting from one place to another. How do you keep track of all that and what your system and how visit do you wanna be? Sometimes I overbook myself because I feel like if it's if it's possible to make all do it, you know, rather whether smarter not a pretty crazy loop coming up in my loops aren't like ws loops. Were you fly somewhere and then you're next two shows are driving distance, and then you fly home. In. So on November seventh, I'm just going to cause my head November. Seventh, I'm doing show Austin, Texas, November eighth, doing a show in Chicago on November ninth. I'm doing a show in New Jersey. And then from the New Jersey flight, I have to get on a redeye flight to London because I have two shows in England and fly home. So that's Austin to Chicago to New Jersey to London and then home do pretty good loop. Yeah. Yeah. Five five shows. Well, the worry is always packing enough merchandise because like. Being the character am. I do really well and merchandise. So I have to sometimes just pack like two giant bags of t shirts that I know I'm going to sell. The best feeling in the world is always coming home with empty suitcases for me. So pack couple of gear. And just real light changes of clothes and mostly mostly merchandise. You have to, you have to have to be good note taker. The I'm lucky that I'm gonna position now where I get a little bit more leeway with these promoters like charge like a deposit, not a lot of guys get it can get a deposit can also do, and this is what cook abandoned and Chris hero kind of turned me onto this was for a long time. I had good status on five different airlines, but not great set aside anyone. And they're like most of the time if you want an American Airlines flight, but United flight is twenty dollars cheaper..
