"Chris crock, Dan mandis right here. Newstalk eight twenty WBZ A P. Appreciate you being here. Are you one of the millions of Americans are going to head out shopping this weekend, as we know it is thanksgiving eve tomorrow is thanksgiving followed by black Friday, then we have of course, Saturday and then cyber Monday. Here's what's interesting is talking about this earlier. You've got black Friday, but black Friday of sort of morphed into just as like one big long segue because a lot of these places. These days are now opening on thanksgiving. That's when they start their big sales, then then morphs into black Friday, and then that continues through Saturday and Sunday. And then finally you've got cyber Monday. So there's just so many ways to spend your money. There's a new study that shows that there's a bunch of Americans that are still paying off last thanksgiving. Now think about that almost three intense shoppers are going into this holiday season still carrying debt from last year's festivities. Now. It's interesting. Because I was just talking about this with my significant other earlier today because we're thinking about going out shopping on black Friday. Now, I'm gonna be honest with you, I will probably end up on the losing end of this conversation because I don't wanna go. I really don't wanna go you wake up early people smell people are cranky. It's just not fun. I don't need a seventy five inch TV for fifteen dollars that bad. I just don't now. Maybe that's because my economy is doing pretty well. And and I'm doing okay. So I don't necessarily need to get a seventy five inch TV for fifteen bucks. But the point of the conversation that I had with with with her significant other was her name is Amy. And Amy, and I are talking about heading out to shop on black Friday. I I don't wanna do it. Because of the reasons that I just mentioned, but also because I don't want to spend a boatload of money. I'm one of those weird Americans believe it or not. They like to live a debt free life. So I don't have any credit card debt, and I don't even have car debt. I paid all of that stuff off. And I and I really work hard to be able to do that. But it is so amazing how there's so many Americans out there who just think nothing of racking up debt now I used to be one of those Americans. I used to be. Most indebted I've been was about thirty thirty two thirty three thousand dollars that was just a few years ago. When I got divorced. I had this divorce credit card. I had to basically pay off the attorneys, and all these other things with this particular credit card than it had to pay off the credit card, and I worked my tail off. To get that credit card paid off. So I'm at the point now where she and I are talking about this. And I and I just don't wanna do it. But it is amazing to me that people are just okay with well. You know, what why? No, we're still paying off last year. But you know, what let's go ahead and rack up even more debt. This year holiday shoppers are expected to spend.

American killed by tribe's arrows on remote island is identified

"Had to turn around in the pilot and the helicopter said, well, at least, we know that they're okay. I'm these people are are vicious with their bows and arrows. And so for some reason this missionary Jon Allen shout. Twenty seven years old thought it would be a good idea to go to this remote island and try and introduce these folks to the word of God, which I do understand that. But. There's just a sense of randomness about it. First of all, he's a Christian, which is a great thing, obviously. But he's breaking the law because India the government there didn't want anybody on this island because these folks are so crazy, actually, they're not crazy. Let me let me let me back up on that their primitive. That's what they are. They have not been touched by modern society. No phones. No televisions. No cars. No running water yet. Oh, I mean, no, no toilets nothing. And so he arrives on this island and his original interaction with the tribesmen was not good. He came though, bearing gifts. He brought them a football and fish. Now, I don't know what these tribesmen would do with a football, I suppose that they could eat the fish. And so they started they started shooting at him with their bows and arrows because this is what they do. And and he knew these these folks were dangerous. And he was able to get away. And he wrote a letter to his parents and his friends, and he said, you guys might think I'm crazy and all this. But I think it's worth it to declare Jesus to these people. He says, please don't be angry at them or guide. If I get killed rather. He said to his parents, please live your lives in obedience to whatever he has called you to. And I'll see you again when you pass through the veil. And his final words this is not a pointless thing. The eternal lives of this tribe is at hand, and I cannot wait to see them around the throne of God worshiping in their own language. And he goes on and on. He says I love you all and I prayed none of you love anything in this world more then Jesus Christ. And then he signed off. And so he says that it's not a pointless thing. He says that it was really his calling to travel all the way to one of the most isolated regions in the world. And try to introduce guide to this tribe. They don't even speak English, folks. So when he says this is not a pointless thing. I said that I was conflicted. And the reason I'm conflicted is because on the one hand and by the way, he was killed by the tribesmen day. They shot him with the bow. And arrow, and the people they dropped him off on the shores of or near the shores of this particular island. They saw his body being dragged off with a rope at the hands of these tribesmen. And he said this is not a pointless thing. And and this is where I'm conflicted because as a Christian, I love the fact that I don't talk about my Christianity on the often. But as a Christian, I love the fact that he's trying to spread the word of God. But on the other hand, I think he could have done so much more here in America with that same effort because there are so many people here in America that need far more guidance that he could have provided to them here with a common language, and a common understanding, and they common culture. As opposed to going to this remote island where there is no connection of culture. Even even a close possible connection to culture. There is no connection. There is no commonality. There is no language commonality nothing. So when he says that this is not a pointless thing. I would have to respectfully disagree with him. It's very sad. What happened to him? It's horrific. What happened to John Allen show as he traveled off to this isolated region on these islands outside of India? Where he was killed by these tribesmen as he was trying to show them the word of God. But I do find it sad. And I find it an incredibly random that he chose this particular island, and these particular people to try and introduce them to his spirituality. He could have been far more successful again with that same amount of effort here in America. But his body's not going to be recovered. We know that he's dead. And I just wonder if this is one of those stories where when we see missionaries go to other parts of the world, you gotta realize there's a lot of people here in America who deserve that same effort. So we'll have to see ultimately what happens with his the recovery of his body. And what happens to these tribesmen, by the way, another interesting point about all this is that they can't bring up these tribesmen on on murder charges or anything because he wasn't. Supposed to be on the island. So really fascinating. I'm I am I'm conflicted between kind of shaking my head at this guy and in admiring this guy because he most certainly died for his religion. He most certainly died for his values, and he most certainly died trying to help others, and I totally get that. I really do. But I just wonder forgive me. I just wonder if it was a fool's errand. "Forty seven news are gay twenty p my name is dan mandis in for chris crock really appreciate you being here now chuck schumer just a little trigger warning here folks i'm going to play a little chuck schumer for you some audio just came down of him and he is believe it or not criticizing maxine waters it's exactly right listen to what he said this is on the the four the senate this was a few hours ago i'm assuming and i haven't seen this audio as if you haven't heard this audience so we're going to discover this together we all have to remember to treat our fellow americans all of our fellow americans with the kind of civility and respect we expect will be afforded to us i strongly disagree with those who advocate harassing folks if they don't agree with you if you disagree with someone or something standup make your voice heard explain why you think they're wrong and why you're right make the argument protest peacefully if you disagree with a politician organiz your fellow citizens to action and vote them out of office but no one should call for the harassment of political opponents that's not right that's not american so that's chuck schumer for once making sense congratulations chuck it happens once every ten years whatever it is chuck schumer everybody's responding to maxine waters and you know the funny thing is regarding all maxine is that did she came out and in earlier i was talking a little bit about the fact that i don't think she's used to being criticized his harshly she has been over the past couple of hours know she's coming out now and she's a very defensive i never said this and i never said that goods clear what you meant the new yorkers wondering where brock obama is this is interesting so what are the things that the democrats are really trying to do is they're really trying to figure out a way to get former president obama more involved now we know that he is been essentially interviewing presidential candidates which i find really interesting you know let's let's interview let's have obama interview presidential candidates when when this is the guy who made a lot of mistakes and right now right now brock obama is persona non grata i would think given the fact that we have so many controversies surrounding his former administration certainly regarding the fbi certainly regarding hillary and uranium one i mean it goes on and on but yeah for some reason i think this tells you how absolutely desperate the democrats are for someone to help them in the midterm elections because they're asking for obama's help and the headline is in the new york magazine aware is barack obama the most popular american whose legacy is the primary target of donald trump has for now virtually disappeared from public life well here's the reason why first of all if you'd like to talk about obama's legacy we can certainly do that we can talk about his destroying of the military we could talk about how he did not do a damn thing is i was talking about in the last segment it didn't really do much of anything to curb illegal immigration his fbi again not to belabor the point but his fbi was certainly corrupt to say the least we know that he ethically failed with north korea we know that he ethically failed with russia we know that he ethically failed in securing and protecting our elections he knew for example and that's telling you about this earlier this year we're talking earlier about how the there are folks there within his own administration that were dumbfounded that obama in in susan rice told them the cybersecurity experts to stand down when they were told that the russians were hacking into our elections and the only thing obama muster the ability to do was shoot a glaring look at vladimir putin nudes just such a joke so yeah i don't know i think we know that the new york magazine we know that it's it's a flaming liberal magazine and clearly clearly for the folks there at the at the new york magazine i think they speak volumes for.

"Can eighteen news talk eight twenty wpa dan mandis in for chris crock appreciate being here marco rubio for the record like marco rubio i always have i know there's some folks that don't find him a true conservative there's other people that are like whatever but he had what i thought was a very good tweet listen to this i'm just checking out you know president trump trump's twitter feed because you know when all else fails you can go to twitter feed and find something to talk about and marco rubio says this you know fresh on the heels of maxine waters and all these other folks so this is what marco rubio had to say hey trumpeters y'all still haven't realized how much you help him meaning the president with their condescension of those who either voted for him or don't share their hatred of him and how much they help him with their irrational hostility towards those who work for him that is the very wise words of marco rubio and here's the thing he is absolutely right and what have we been saying all along about president trump and the people that hate him and the people that love him the people that love him they give him a lot more rope than other politicians and well we all know about the people that hate him because that's pretty much everybody else and so seems like the world is divided into two different categories you've got the haters and you've got the supporters right there there really is no in between and that's one of the things that you always gotta ask is who is all this going to help you know is it going to help the the republicans or is it going to help the democrats in the midterm elections because ultimately that my friends is what it's all about is the midterm elections so donald trump with an eye towards the mid terms and and everything else because we know that it's a battle of narrative its battle over the may terms it's a battle over twenty twenty and also don't forget the president is also trying to stave off any primary challengers that he may have in the republican party so the president was in south carolina earlier tonight and he's campaigning for gubernatorial candidate there in here's a number of soundbites some some very important soundbites the president talks about illegal immigration so they don't mind crime they want open borders we won really tough borders and we want people to come in yeah we want people to come in through the legal process what about the thousands of people what about the thousands of people that have gone through this process that are waiting online to come into our country and then we're gonna let these people and we have no idea who they are yeah we really don't have any idea who they are med is a huge problem the democrats want open borders and they don't mind crime we want very tight very strict borders and by the way you saw a seventy year low with all the complaining i'm doing we've done a very good job and we have taken thousands we have taken we gotta get that wall built all the way across and they don't want it that's like a symbol they're only good at one thing what's it term resist exactly right that is what the democrats want to do it is resist at all costs and one of the things that the president said you just heard him a second go he talked about how we have no idea who these people are that are coming over the border now one of the one of the stories that i i was telling you about earlier tonight is yet another story about how ms thirteen these wretched gang members these murderous thugs whole bunch of them were caught trying to cross the border one way or another now we know that this has been something that has been going on for a long time so this is nothing new did you see what happened in the bronx did you see this fifteen year old kid they got absolutely butchered by this gang the gang you know everybody keeps our mothers gang violence is new york it's nothing new there in the bronx yeah but you know what there is important details regarding this particular gang because you know we talked about ms thirteen coming mel salvador honduras and mexico and so forth and they come in across our southern border and it's a very big issue because when.

"Talking about grace and how people fought for and died for grace this is something that chris pratt does and this is something that chris pratt should be proud of innate is amazing to me that hollywood continues to embrace him because you know what hollywood is all about you know that hollywood is all about liberalism you know that hollywood is all about anti conservatism you know the hollywood is all about hillary and certainly nothing there is no appreciation for republicans or president trump or anything that light of a stand for and so a lot of the things that pratt said the chris pratt said are absolute truths you know don't bully us your soul for good no matter what it is earned it i mean think about all of the liberal things that are out there today as far as tenants of liberalism certainly one of them is everybody gets a trophy right or i love what chris pratt said no matter what you do earn it not everyone gets a trophy the people who really work hard those are the ones that earn a trophy but it is amazing isn't it to to compare and contrast robert de niro's f donald trump to chris pratt and what he had to say at the music awards last night just amazing so he really should be proud and conservatives i think i should be proud because what he did last night when he walked out onto that stage and gave that motivational speech i would love to see more of that i don't think that i will but i would love to see more of that reason being is that there isn't enough motivation coming out of hollywood unless he's just motivation to spread as much bad will in bad horrific discourse is we possibly can that's what hollywood is all about so yeah i do apply to chris pratt because i think that this is a guy who absolutely had that opportunity one more time to say something positive andy unifying and think about that think about the applause that he earned talking about earning the applause that he earned when he mentioned god and when he talked about the fact that life is tough out there one of his overriding messages was life is tough out there in the real world so some of the things that you need to do respect the military respect god learn to pray you know we've seen studies over and over again about how the younger generation we're talking about kids that are coming up through high school heading into college thinking about everything that they deal with right now think about the fact that they're in fear of things like school shootings they're saddled with debt i if they're going through college they're saddled with debt they may or may not have a degree that will enable them to earn a bunch of money so that they can pay off that college that their parents have been divorced multiple times no wonder it is they don't necessarily want to get married and have kids themselves this is a younger generation frankly the mtv generation right now they are incredibly cynical as well they should be because of everything that they've grown up dealing with so kudos to chris pratt for his message to the younger generation my name is dan manderson for chris crock right here on newstalk eight twenty wbz ap rush is always right i keep trying to tell everybody this is completely manufactured political crisis that is surrounded by hysteria and it's being presented as a news story less limbaugh eleven to stock eight twenty wbz ap don i got a question for you have you been thinking that maybe you might need a change of pace maybe you want to learn something new or better yet how to defend yourself maybe it's time your family knows how to defend themselves for the best hands on helpful defense training go to.

"Ten forty seven right here on news talk eight twenty wpa p dan in for chris crock always appreciate you being here i love this story for so many reasons no it's going to lead to all kinds of hysteria from the folks on the left by the way i'm just going through twitter you know whenever i do a radio shows i've always got twitter open and there's always so much to comment on listen to this this is a quote from a catholic priest his name is reverend james martin and he's describing the white house policy this led to the separation of families on the border from my mind in from my heart it seems to satisfy every category of evil you could imagine now there's somebody else that is in fact a number of people they've been commenting about how this is like the nazi concentration camps you have laura bush last night talking about and and all of these other first ladies as well we talked about that last night all the living law the living former first ladies and bleed the current first lady as well coming down on president trump as well and laura bush even compared to the japanese american in intern pro what do you call them an the where they were held essentially captive and obviously against their will a japanese americans after the japanese bombed pearl harbor internment camps and so this is obviously not that in why people here's the thing if you have to exaggerate by saying that these detention centers are like concentration camps or intern or or internment camps then obviously your arguments not very good you know it's like invoking hitler at every turn you down people will invoke hitler all the time and it gets really old after a while i think that we need to put a new policy in place here in america those folks who who comment on such things when you are blowing something five six seven twenty times out of proportion you just automatically lose the argument yeah you got all these people here that are essentially relying about what's going on with some of these photographs and so forth by the way you here's another headline more than seventy five former us attorneys are calling i jeff sessions to stop family separation saying the decision to implement the policy falls squarely on your shoulders and and so the trump administration clearly is trying to figure out what to do next but i love this from jeff sessions speaking of which and i got a lot of feedback on this lot of folks by the way to communicate with me you can always call you can always also email me at i should say facebook message me dan man to show you can also find feinman instagram and twitter as well attorney jeff sessions is exploring the possibility of using dna tests to verify the parentage of illegal alien adults who attempt to cross the southern border with children you know the problem that we have and we're talking about this earlier the problem that we have on the border is you can't really tell who these people are there documents could very well be fake or they have no documents at all if they have no documents at all the naked just make up an identity and once they make up one identity they could just keep making up more and more identities so i don't mind the jeff sessions is going to do this of course this lead to all kinds of hysteria what about civil liberties and all this other kind of stuff you know i was like listen if they're trying to break into our country then we have every right to grab some dna and figure out okay well if you're trying to get into our country we need to verify who you folks are and we need to be able to verify if you are really related because we've heard these stories folks we really have we we've heard the story of all of these illegal immigrants all these illegal aliens that are coming into our country and they have people with them that they claim are their kids but they're really not their drug neal's they're human traffickers these are the people that they are so i think this is yet another great idea that's going to cause the left it's going to get their hair way on fire and that's not going to be real surprising and so for the republicans at some point at some point you just have to decide you.

"Twenty wpa medicine for chris crock how are you yes indeed if you are a republican or a conservative you don't like the media matter of fact apparently you could even describe the media as an enemy of the people now let's put this with some context we all know that the president he has been on the attack for a long time labeling the media as enemy of the people he's actually set them but but i think one of the things that we need to do is we need to put that specific term enemy of the people in a little bit of context we need to define what that actually means i'm going to interpret that because i don't think there really has been any real conversation about what exactly is an enemy of the people here's what i think it enemy of the people is as it relates to the mainstream media if you are consistently putting forth a narrative that is meant to hijack a presidency you are an enemy of the people if the majority of the things that you print and the majority of the things that you post and the majority of the things that you published are false or mired in a non animus sources than i would say that yeah you know what maybe you are an enemy of the people because your misleading purposely misleading the american people now when i say purposely i can say that a number of different ways i can utilize that phrase a number of different ways when you are willfully not objective when you are purposely partisan when you are purposely attacking the president i would say that yeah you could be an enemy of the people because the people deserve the truth the people are expecting you in the media to print the truth instead of just hiding behind this concept of anonymous sources and i point you once again to the robert mueller investigation and the spokesperson that came out and said listen don't believe a lot of the headlines that you're seeing in the media regarding our investigation because a lot of times they're false they're not correct they are wrong especially if they're based on quote anonymous sources.

"Naito four right here on wbap might have demand is in for chris crock appreciate you being here yeah were all sitting here talking about what happened in parkland florida earlier today nicholas cruise he is nineteen years old he killed seventeen many more wounded as a matter of fact and there are many who are still hospitalized who have lifethreatening injuries and this is one of those stories that you never want to have to cover as a reporter and as a talk show host but sometimes you have to not only at talk about tough issues but also ask some very tough questions and in a way and i hate to do this but you have to criticize people who are dealing with some of the worst circumstances ever like for example when you hear the broward county sheriff say things like if you see something say something well you know we've heard those things before name is scott israel and i don't know how many times we have to hear the same quotes over and over again who's su some who say something to anybody has been an indicator that someone someone's going through behavioral change on this social media that there were disturbing photos perhaps bomsel firearm flora just videos will pictures fatter heard or just not right that this something police martial law enforcement knows about it you know and i appreciate what he sang but what we know about at this guy nicholas cruz is he did have a lot of photographs on his instagram page on his social media the suspect is a matter of fact posted a whole bunch of photos in 2016 and 2015 on his instagram page of of weapons he made statements about wanting to buy guns now the pages since been deleted but did spend confirmed with the various sources who know cruise that this page this particular page that some people are saying is so incredibly disturbing was indeed his now one of the things that you got to realize is okay so in 2015 that was as some two plus years ago he was whites seventeen issuers on sixteen may be 17 years old and he's posting all of these things on social media so this has been out there for a long time and so the school at knew that this guy was as somewhat demented or he was problematic where where his parents and i know that.
