"The news. And this week because there's just so much information out there so much news out there in the world. Chris I brought actually brought to stories in this week. All right. And they kind of go together hand in hand the first story that Tony saw in the news. This week is how to make two thousand nineteen even though we're well into February. Now, it's still technically the new year. Right, right. Some people hopefully are still executing their New Year's resolutions. How to make two thousand nine thousand nine hundred a year that you check off your bucket list. Obviously some people have more things that others on their bucket list. But you wanna be able to at least check something off the bucket list this year, right? Yeah. I think that's probably the case. Are they saying that a lot of people are doing that this year, or are they saying that you probably should take a shot this story, by the way comes from CNBC? Okay. They say that sixty six percent of people will. Will complete at least one item off their bucket list in the next year outta town absent, and well, this is based on a survey of two thousand people. Okay. So according to two thousand people sixty six percent of them. We'll check at least one item off their bucket list. Now, I think a fairly common fairly universal bucket list item. Or New Year's resolution is to make a lot more money. Or if you want to check something off your bucket list, like I'll use myself, for example. Okay. Uh-huh. One of my bucket lists. I list items is to go to China. Okay. And specifically go to the great wall of China. I want to go to China number one. And then I want to go to the great wall and walk on the great wall. And all that really. Yeah. So that's gonna take some money. Right. Yeah. So I think, you know, a universal New Year's resolution is always to make more money or become financially secure. And if you do make a lot more money and become a little more. More financially secure that may lead to you. Checking an item off your bucket. Let your bucket lifts might have to get a lot deeper. Right. So you can spend your money, right? Well, why do you think more people don't necessarily check something off every year because they probably don't have the money to do it. Or the time time on everything is timer. Highmore money time or money. Okay. I get that. And and even though I work a heck of a lot of hours in the radio business. Someone who was more successful than me told me way back when if you're trading time for money, you probably not ever going to get rich. That's wealthy. There's just not enough hours in the day as they say, right exactly to make you rich. So yeah, I get that. I get that. In fact, I'm looking at the article fourteen percent of people said a lack of time. We'll keep them from checking something off the list. Okay. Ten percent of that fourteen percent, citing family responsibilities as an obstacle. Yeah. Man, I could travel I could go to Vegas. I can go to China. I could do this. And that if it wasn't for my family, but I think you. I think that's the wrong place to go. Must be a good place. Now, your family is supposed to be. I'm not saying me, I'm saying, that's you know, you hear that from people like, oh, man. If if I was single I would do this. But when we talk about the money aspect of things, I think that's more realistic. 'cause you could check things off your bucket list with family members. Right. Take them along with you. Yeah. Take your family walked the great wall of China, and you can create more income for yourself. You can't necessarily create more time, but you can create more free time. I don't know. Yeah. You can create more free time, and you can create more money. And I do think that the trading provides that opportunity for folks. You know, I know that there's a lot of people out there that are working one hundred hours a week, and they don't feel like they're compensated properly for the amount of time. They brought in right or maybe they're working a regular forty hour shift, and they still don't feel appreciated. I mean, that's part of it. Right. Feeling appreciated. His if you don't really feel appreciated it doesn't matter. How much money you're making right? Well, you have to have some sense of worth some sense of accomplishment. But back in the days when I used to work fifty sixty hours a week and still couldn't pay the bills. There's nothing more frustrating than that. When you what you know, you working two jobs, and you doing everything you could possibly do. And you still can't make ends meet as they say. That's really frustrating. Yeah. And you know, what I got to hand it to the folks that are really trying just to kind of make ends meet. I get that. But when you're when you if you understand how to how to make money in the markets, what you're going to realize is that the amount of time that you put into trading in the Mark. Has very little to do with the amount of money. You take out of it. Because when you're working with these leveraged asset classes that we talked about you, really. The you don't have to put a lot of time into some of the best traders, I know, including myself only spend thirty sixty minutes a day working on trading. And then they what they really need to do is follow their passions or do something else with their time. So they're not sitting in front of the computer watching their trades. And if you've traded before you know, what I'm talking about. Because if you sit in front of your computer, if you're not a day trader, right? There are there are folks that specifically want to sit in front of their computer all day and trade outside of the day traders, if you sit in front of the computer and watch your positions, you will go from being logical to being emotional, and you will adjust stop losses, and you'll make changes in your trades. And you'll work yourself right out of a good trade. So my suggestion is that you should pursue something that you're passionate about rather than than going to an office and working, you know, eight hours a day nine hours, ten hours a day and not feeling like your appreciation may maybe he's flip the script a little bit. And you think about trading and letting the trading take care of the money side of things for you. And then you pursue your bucket list. Or maybe you just start giving back to people, right? Because a lot of times that value. You know, if if you're just trading and making money, and that's all you're doing you probably not a very happy person. People aren't really excited to be around. You. Right because you really do need to to try to do some greater things with your life, right in right, in most cases money is the reason that we work, but if you have another option of making money, if you become a successful trader, and I'll use you as an example because you said before, you know, much earlier in the show, we talked about the misconception of people thinking, they need a lot of money to right? Get into trading, which is and that is not true. Another big conception is the time, you know, it doesn't take a whole lot of time to be a successful. Trader if you don't want it to take a whole lot of time and using you as an example, you are a very successful trader and being a successful trader has given you the opportunity to have a lot of free time and family time, which is very important to you because you have a wonderful family. But it also gives you the opportunity because I know you personally. For many a years now. And you know, you like to help people and having all that free time allows you to do other things where you can help people. Yeah. That's true. I mean, I yeah. Yeah. I, you know, we're having a conversation before off air, and we're talking about I was telling you that I actually replaced the clutch this week, which was the first time accomplishment. Right. And people might ask me. Well, why in the world did you replace a clutch? If you can just have somebody else do it and my response to you was because I can right. I've got the time to do it. And you know, what I like achieving things that I haven't done before in the past. And if you don't have that kind of time in your life and not saying that you would work on cars all the time because maybe that's not what you're passionate about. Maybe you have something else that you want to be passionate about you, don't if you can get rid of the job title, and maybe you can just make money in the markets. Maybe have an opportunity decent other things spent some time with people that you haven't spent time with. You know with parents or grandparents or your kids, maybe you can travel some more or go fishing more. Go back to the GM get healthy. Again, all these things people wish they can do play more golf do more fishing walk on the great wall China. Okay, go, you know, go to the gym get back in shape, or whatever. Yeah. You could do a lot of dreaming when you realize that the money is taken care of right? Right. So real quick. Let me tell you the other thing that Tony saw on the news, which kind of goes into this as well. According to Fidelity Investments, you know. Everybody knows Fidelity Investments big things out there. Right. The average size of a retirement at nest egg the average retirement fund is roughly a hundred and ten thousand dollars for 4._0._1._K's IRA's and even less than that for four zero three Bs. So you probably don't need Fidelity Investments to tell you this. But about one hundred and ten thousand dollars is a lot less than what they recommend American. Save. While to retire. Yeah. Yeah. A lot less. Yeah. How much would they say you should have they recommend at least six times your salary by the age of fifty? So if you're fifty years old, and you're making sixty grand a year, you should have what three hundred thousand dollars. So a hundred and ten thousand is a far cry from what they're recommending and that's by age fifty. I mean, a lot of people only have one hundred and ten thousand or less when they're actually retiring at sixty five. Yeah. You know, what that I think you're talking about the fact that we're talking about retirement accounts in the IRA's three Bs kind of stuff that doesn't take into account. The fact that there's a lot of people out there that don't have anything saved right there. Yeah. This this is the average and unfortunately because we've seen this statistics of there's a lot of people that are well below the average and as hard as it is for some people to imagine. There are. People that literally have no retirement savings at fifty years old fifty five years old sixty years old. I mean, maybe they have five thousand ten thousand dollars. But yeah, people you know, that are never going to retire or have to just live off of social security. I hate to think about that. If there is still social security. Well, let you know what if there's somebody listening to this conversation right now, and they're realizing I got some work to do on my retirement plan. Maybe I just starting out late. And when you talk about one hundred thousand dollars in an account, man. I'm not close to that. I got seventy five I got fifty whatever it is. I would suggest that maybe you come to the academy and spend some time with us in a workshop because not only are we talking about trading in the workshops were actually talking about investing as well. So we go out it from two perspectives. We can talk about day trading. We can talk about. A swing trading, and we can talk about what we call proactive investing. Maybe we can talk a little bit about that on the way are on the other side, right? Yeah. It's not just all about trading at the Online Trading Academy. You can learn about investing as well. We are headed to a break another break as Chris mentioned. And if you're smelling some of what Chris cooking, if you're interested in any of the things that you're hearing during the show if you want to establish a secondary stream of income if you want to build up your retirement plan, if you want to start a.

And he's Mike Leach students typical thing and I said, well what other defensive side of the ball coats. We've got X Y Z rattle off a couple of players and coach leaks looks around at Chris cook goes to scrambling rotten some stuff down on a piece of paper and hands it to coach leaked he goes. Oh, yeah. Right here. Wade. Yeah. We've got done the. We have a. What did we have or not much of a defensive coach at the time? But he still wants some games. Did he not built some stadiums to win win score sixty points? But we'd win those those babies, but that was hilarious. I sat there and thought really cook guessing the answer to the defensive questions. Nice guy, though criminal is you'll get so hopefully, he'll give you that callback here pretty quick on the open container thing. I just kind of maybe it's just unwritten word that it's all right now. Can you imagine on alcohol front, you know, whenever Lubbock is going Robertson. So famously said Lubbock talked drawn drank wet for eight years, and you distract about that time about that transition the eighties nineties journal Mars putting up balk wrath. Whoever was around then putting up a proposition to the board..
