"Ten weeks, and we're doing the schools in alphabetical order. We've already knocked out Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas offered Baylor and duke. Now we turn our attention to Gonzaga, the zags went 28 and four last season, won the West Coast conference breakfast season title and the WCC tournament. Got a one seed in the NCAA tournament, then of course lost to Arkansas in the sweet 16 from that team. Gonzaga's lost Ted holmgren Andrew nim Hart, so two of the top three scores, but they're bringing back 6 of the top 8 among them all American drew Timmy and fellow double digit scores Julian strawther and Richie Bolton. I've got Gonzaga ranked number one in the CBS sports preseason top 25 and one. We'll see what dead leg, thanks to Mark fuse zags in a moment, but first, a word from our sponsors. We get it. Chris Kohls and Sebastian Discuss Top Gun's Unwoke Success
"Before you very deviously got us massively sidetracked, Chris calls. Let's get back to the question that I want answered. Top Gun: Maverick, should we lay significant into its anti woke success? Or is it just some really powerful dude having fun? Yeah, it's not shocking. I mean, Bruckheimer produces it. Brooke heimer created the original Top Gun. He's a sort of known conservative in Hollywood. So was he involved in the sequel as well? I believe so I saw his name on the IMDb side. I don't know how involved he was. But yeah, he is the original creator of Top Gun. But yeah, I mean, like I said, run an inflection point. Any time you're at an inflection point, you're going to have people on both sides. So somebody like David zaslav, who's coming into Warner Brothers and who sees, okay, this is not working. Like, look, if maverick is one of the most popular films in the history of the world, and it's creating this point of difference where it's not woke and everything else is woke, you're definitely going to have people going, okay, nobody's going to the theaters anymore. Maverick comes out. Everybody goes to the theater, holy crap. I mean, people that you can't ignore that. The most woke thing. There is a direct correlation between how woke you are and how much money your film is going to lose. And how unwoke it is and how much money you're going to make. I
Sebastian Talks to Chris Kohls About Warner Bros. Shelving 'Batgirl'
"Somebody who's been an actor, been a writer, worked in Hollywood, understand kind of pulling the plank when you're having the first initial meetings about investing. I can kind of pulling the plug when you've got the first week of dailies. Pulling the puck up to the whole thing is even been scored in ADR. How does that happen in Hollywood? I'm just curious. They have $90 million invested in this. Some people are reporting to have a $100 million of it. I don't know if that's rounding up or what. Just to cap off the green jump Pierre and the whole communications department jumping ship and all that. The reason I believe that batgirl was so terrible wasn't just the wokeness, it was the people they hired. So the woman that wrote Birds of Prey, I don't know if you saw that movie or heard about it. Birds of Prey is one of the worst movies that's come out. Joker spin off who's that woman, Margot Kidder? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, Margot Robbie. Who's very cool, by the way. I've met rogel Robbie, she's actually awesome. But yeah, Birds of Prey was a disaster. And I watched that just because I wanted to see how bad it was, and it was hilariously bad. Anyway, I got a video coming out about batgirls, but I'm giving it to everybody now already. But they hired the woman who wrote that to write this. I mean, that was feminist garbage that came out. It was a flop. It lost them a $100 million, no joke. Worldwide, it lost them a $100 million. They brought it, oh, you know that pile of dog excrement that you wrote? Could you do that again? Please, we want another one of those. We want to lose another $100 million. So she
How Much Trouble Is Joe Biden In? Chris Kohls Weighs In
"You may not have worked in government, but you know what dang lot about communication and how to effectively communicate. It looks as if anybody in any kind of position of communications in The White House is jumping the ship from Kamala's speechwriter to Jen Psaki. Jen Psaki seems like such old history. It doesn't it? If I say gen so it feels like years ago that she was who is that? Yeah, who is that? What is going on as a professional communicator? And supplier of content, do you think they're just out of steam? Is it just changing of the God? How much trouble is bow jaiden in? No, jud. Yeah. When Korean John Pierre took the job, it was a bit shocking. I don't know if you remember the first month that she was there. Everybody just thought, what is going on? How can they have somebody who can't read? I mean, she was literally like, anytime anybody asks her a question, she'd flip to the page. Well, one second I just have to find my okay talking points. I will read them for you, and she would read them verbatim, whatever was written down for her. And she had trouble reading it. She can't actually read the notes, Chris. It's incredible to this day she can't read what's in the binder. I understand, look, look, guys, if you're a trucker, you work in construction, you don't have to read out loud as your job, that's not part of your job, okay? If you're not good at that, don't get a job in communication. Korean Jean Pierre goes into a job where, as press secretary, where she needs to read off her talking points and she can not. She's like a second grader learning to read out loud in front of the class and she's obviously like completely incompetent. I think has a lot to do with the diversity hire problem. On the left, there is this virtue signaling thing where they say, oh, you know, we can't have white men, right? We can't have men generally. We have to have women and preferably women of color and preferably preferably women of color who are lesbians and immigrants and all this kind of crap, you know, they got like this a couple of trans dudes in there. There's just peppering their whole administration with all of these diversity hires. And of course everything's going to fall apart. Of course
The Best Commercial Ever? Chris Kohls With Sebastian Gorka
"Before I introduce my good buddy in special guest today, I'm going to show you an ad that I think was made 6 or 7 years ago kind of missed it and then it cropped up in social media. It's incredible. It's a real ad. I'm already a customer of the product, so it didn't make me buy more. But it shows you why the little bit of humor. Oh, hey, buddy. It's a great granddad here. In case you haven't noticed, I'm kind of busy fighting for your freedom in this little thing called the Second World War. But now you're using that freedom to hurl insult to celebrities on Twitter, listen hashtag, you're not gonna fight like a man, really shave like a man. Excuse me. What's up LOL and everything? Listen, hashtag stop LOL everything. Pure bloody genius I love it. I was already a barbasol customer. Now I'm going to go out and buy credit and stuff. A man who I'm sure appreciates it is a master of his own application of humor, or one of the best YouTube channels out there. It's mister Reagan, the man, the legend, Chris Cole's welcome back to Merck first. Oh, it's good to be here. How good is this? I'm not calling everybody. I'm going to start calling everybody hashtag now. Right. Hashtag and stop LOL ing, okay? Just cut out the LOL ing. Listen, hashtag. F stop LOL. I'm sick your LOL in hashtag. I'm gonna start saying that to everybody. How good is that? Have you seen that ad if I showed it to you on my TV show? I don't think so. And you know what? I bought barbasol before in the past. I've got some kind of gel thing now. But I'm going back to barbasol just because of that old ad. Could that add be made today, Chris cold? Of course, of course it could. But would it be made? Here's the thing. I do think we're in an inflection point. We're going to get to that later on in the show. So I don't want to get into it now. But I actually think it should be made. When everybody's going left and you go right, it's called point of difference. I know, you know, a little bit about business. There's something in marketing called point of difference. If you want people to buy your product or your service, you need to show your point of difference. If you're a product and you produce an ad that's unwoke or anti woke or just not woke, that's your point of difference. You're going to get all the customers right now.
Jury picked, evidence next in 2nd trial in Gov. Whitmer plot
"A second trial is underway for two men accused of conspiring to kidnap Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer A prosecutor told jurors Adam Fox and Barry Croft junior wanted to ignite a second American Revolution in 2020 The two men are on trial for a second time four months after a jury couldn't reach a unanimous verdict on them and acquitted two other men prosecutors again will present secretly recorded conversations and video text messages and social media posts to show that a band of rebels was serious about getting the democratic governor defense attorney Chris gibbons insist there was no real conspiracy and that Fox and craft were entrapped It's always been about shining as much light into that courtroom as you can about what happened in the summer of 2020 and the activities of the FBI and how they decided to pursue our clients Gibbons spoke outside court I'm Julie Walker
Two-Tier Justice: The FBI Raid on Mar-a-Lago
"Last question for you? The PR perception. You talk about their 30 people on the hill. I've talked to many of them just like you, you know, they sell the FBI and the sale of the DoJ. Is there anybody there that could give a look and say, hey, here's the mirror. The people are looking at you and seeing complete hypocrisy. You've got to get this straight because we need the FBI to be the FBI. Yeah, I mean, obviously it's got to be and it's got to start from the top, so it's got to be Chris wray, and he's got to inculcate that into the organization. And he's from outside looking in. He doesn't seem like he's accomplished that at all. I want to go back, Doug, and one other thing that we all should know is, you know, Bill Clinton took $300,000 worth of furniture out of The White House and moved it. You know, when he left The White House and who knows what documents there was a negotiation, obviously for that, that ended up being returned to plus years later. George Bush obviously, when he left The White House, there was an ongoing negotiation about his papers and documents and what was and what it wasn't a presidential record under the act. And I just, I see, you know, again, you talk about the two tiered system of justice. I see that there is an inconsistency here with how Donald Trump's being treated versus other presidents and it's quite frankly it's disgusting.
Matt Whitaker Unpacks the FBI Politization of the Mar-a-Lago Raid
"Really breaking news episode today. This is a special episode that we're going to be discussing what just happened yesterday at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, the raid or the investigation with the FBI into Donald Trump's classified information that came from The White House a lot going on with this. But could not think of a better person to sit down and talk with than my friend Matt Whit or former acting attorney general U.S. attorney. Going to get a lot of answers today. So Matt, let's just go straight into this. Let's give people what they need. Mascot to have you back on the podcast. Doug, I'm always enjoy the time we spend together. And I look forward to having you on my show, liberty and justice soon. Looking forward to liberty and if you folks, have you not sang liberty and Josh, you gotta get on it. I mean Matt is killing it with guests and in the topics they're discussing. Great stuff is we go, Matt, let's just go ahead and dive into it. There's no way around this. If you look at this, I mean, and we're still fresh into this, and a lot of hot takes going on here, but you know, this timing, the thing about this, when you were attorney general, 'cause number one, there's no way this could have gotten done without Chris wray or Merrick Garland knowing about it. What do you think the internal dynamics were that you could imagine inside DoJ with this? Well, I think the internal dynamics are pretty clear. I mean, there was a letter that was sent from the national archives that there was concern about president Trump's handling of presidential records after he moved out of The White House and there was an attempt to resolve that with the national archives and at some point in time this letter was sent to the FBI asking to open up a criminal investigation and that's exactly what the FBI did. You know, Doug, there's a lot of decisions, as you know, that were made in this situation, but I think the most concerning decision that was made was, and I'm sure it was approved by Chris wray and approved by Merrick Garland as attorney general. And that was the execution of a search warrant instead of sending a subpoena or instead of continuing to negotiate on this issue.
FBI's search of Trump's Florida estate: Why now?
"Donald Trump's family and backers are ripping the FBI search of Trump's Florida home Eric Trump says it's yet another attack against all the trumps There's no family in American history that has taken more arrows in the back telling Fox News channel's Hannity Democrats have a clear goal They don't want Donald Trump to run and win again in 2024 The trumps accused Democrats of weaponizing the Justice Department GOP senator roger wicker says attorney general Merrick Garland and FBI chief Chris ray must explain why the search happened We deserve answers we deserve the transparency The department's not commenting At The White House We did not have advance note is Spokeswoman karine Jean Pierre said she has no comment about the surge itself This is a criminal investigation that the Department of Justice is independently running Sagar Meghani Washington

Erich Pratt and Doug Unpack the Latest Gun Legislation
"They're trying to stop me from selling my neighbor a gun. Or in that's exactly what they're doing. And to do so, what the gun control groups won't tell you is the only way and it was all Gabby Giffords group and some others, you know, website basically saying, the only way to actually enforce that is to have registration. The only way to enforce to know that if I'm selling a gun or it shows up later is to have a registration of that transaction. Here's what they did. And Eric, this is just beyond understanding in the Senate. How this actually got through. They took it from where it was basically if you did it for a livelihood or gain profit, the two prongs here, and they took out basically livelihood. They took out the base for what we'll call the financial game party and only said if you have a profit and even basically they gutted it too, tell people how this really is going to affect because I'm not sure even to this day John cornyn and some of the others actually looked at this bill. This was the best slide of hand by the Democrats on gun control in 50 years. No, you're absolutely right. It was really disgusting what happened. Basically, the only way that you could get around this provision that we're talking about is for you to give away your firearms, which you might do as a dad or a grandfather and passing them out to your children and grandchildren as an inheritance. But otherwise, you're absolutely right. If you make a profit on your gun, then they'll come to you and say, well, did you have an FFL? And if not, you're in big trouble. You know, senator Chris Murphy, who was, of course, one of the guys on the left who was spearheading this and was working this with senator cornyn Republican of Texas. As the bill was being passed, he went on MSNBC and he said, that this provision alone, the one that we're talking about is going to cause thousands of more gun sales in the country to go through the background check system. And that's ultimately what the dream of the anti gun left is is to register every gun sale, every gun in America, ATF, has already admitted that they have almost 900 million records that are digitized. They have almost a billion records and 900 million are digitized. So pushing for more gun sales to have a 44 73 form gives the ATF a record of almost every gun sale and provides them the list that let's face it. That can become a future gun confiscation list.
Chris Miller Lied on Fox News and It's a Crime Says Glenn Kirschner
"Speaking of this whole theme of lying is that we're looking at in the Alex Jones trial, so Chris Miller goes on Fox News and lies. That oh, Trump ordered, you know, 10,000 National Guard troops under oath has to say, you know, like Alex Jones had to say, sandy hook was real. Like, no, he did not order. You know, national lied to the American people on Fox entertainment. I don't call them Fox News. That is actually part of a criminal cover up. That's chargeable as a crime. I'm appreciative that he told the truth under oath before the J 6 committee. But when you lie to the American people trying to cover up Donald Trump's crimes, you're committing your own crime of accessory after the fact that miss prison of a felony. So keep it up sports. I'm so happy to hear you say that because how many times have we heard, well, it's not a crime to lie on Fox News, otherwise they wouldn't have a network. I mean, it should be. It can be a crime. It can be a crime. We just have to investigate it and indicted.

Chris Christie Talks Deshaun Watson
"Now I want to turn over to a different sports topic, deshaun Watson. I'm asking you this because you were a prosecutor. And you might have been in front of judge Sue Robinson. She was in Delaware. I don't know if you know Sue Robinson or not. Okay. She hands down a decision 6 game suspension. I'm not taking an opinion on this until everything is done. But first of all, she talked about nonviolent sexual assault. You ever heard of such a thing? No. Okay, so Roger Goodell triggers the appeal process, which puts him in the absolute no win situation of either upsetting black athletes who believe that white owners get off or upsetting women for not taking seriously allegations of four cases of nonviolent sexual assault, but there was no prosecutorial process for deshaun Watson. I'm really conflicted about this whole thing. What do you think about it? What I think about it is that Roger Goodell has used, as you said, is put himself by appealing this. Now in an impossible position. Because quite frankly, I think the suspension and fine and penalties you just gave the Miami Dolphins are laughable. When you read that, in fact, the owner of the dolphins did say in front of a number of people that would be better off losing games than we would be winning games that people testify these said that to the coach. Now they're saying, well, he didn't really mean it. I mean, and he suspended some mid October. Now, are you going to affect the integrity of the game in a significant way? And if he's going to give now to Sean Watson, a much starter suspension, which you have to believe that that's what's now going to happen. Then if I were the black athlete, I would say that there are two different standards. One for the people who play the game and work for the people who profit from the game. And I think it's a real concern. I think that I didn't quite understand her, as I said to you, her characterization of nonviolent sexual assault. But in the end, too, there's got to be some sense of equity. And that's why I think the NFL should not have appealed. They're going to put this person in a position to make these judgments. Sometimes you're going to agree sometimes you're going to disagree, but by appealing roger Gonzalez now put his own judgment regarding Steve Ross into the crosshairs as well.
Reports: FBI Knows More About Jan. 6 Bomber, Withholding Video
"A new report out that the FBI, this is from the gateway pundit, the FBI knows more about whoever planted the bombs outside of the RNC and DNC headquarters than they had previously led on. Anybody else find that odd that we have yet to know who actually planted those devices, especially since the whole thing was captured on camera. Anybody concerned about that? Now according to revolver news, the FBI is hiding security video footage of the January 6 pipe bomber planting the bombs. Congressman Jim Jordan sent a letter to the FBI director Chris wray in March. Regarding the investigation, according to that letter, now members of Congress are accusing the FBI FBI of withholding information. So why is it that the FBI doesn't want you to see the video footage of the suspect planting the bombs at the RNC and DNC? I have a theory about that. Is it possible that the reason why the FBI doesn't want you to see that video is because it was in fact the FBI that planted the bombs? Is that, is that a possibility? Why is it that the FBI has yet to explain how many of their agents, how many of their staffers were involved in the plotting and the execution of what happened on January 6th at the capitol building?

New CNN Chief Makes 'Apology Tour' to Republican Officials
"CNN has a new boss. The CEO is a guy named Chris licked. LIC, HT, Debbie's like Chris licked. What kind of a name is that? Sometimes people have weird names. But you know, it would be nice if everybody had a really normal name, like dinesh d'souza. Instead, we got all these eccentric names, people, you know, Chris Lake, really. Anyway, this guy evidently has been camping out in the, in the capital, talking to Republican senators. And he has been seeking out private meetings with them. In fact, he does it sort of surreptitiously, so it's not covered in the media, but evidently his goal is to try to make peace with Republican senators. What he's telling them is please come back back is the key word and be interviewed on CNN. Now the Republican center has stopped going on CNN. They're invited, but they go, no, I'm not coming on CNN. I can't expect fair treatment. I've got these nakedly hostile hosts who scream at you and smarmy and smug and make all these sarcastic comments. Who needs it? Why should we do it? Who are we appealing to? That's not our audience anyway. And CNN is so much ideologically dug in on the other side that Republican centers are like, give it a pass. By the way, by the way, this is also kind of my approach. I frequently get texts or I'm writing, I'm calling writing from the daily beast and I'm trying to confirm or deny and I'm like, no response. That's the right approach. We just ignore the other side and they're not used to that. They're used to us jumping up and down and trying to justify ourselves and so on. And we don't need to do that. So and Chris lick now realizes it's not hurting the Republicans and sorting CNN. And so he's like, please come back and he goes, we'll treat you fairly. And the Republican center is like, how do we know that? And they're like, well, he's like, you know, I'm going to, he says, I'm going to be talking to our producers about doing that. I'm going to praise the producers who are featuring both sides.
"chris " Discussed on SI Boxing with Chris Mannix
"Durant and boxing? The summer's just evaporated on me. But we are at the end of July. Good fight still ahead of us though, Danny Garcia fighting this weekend. You've got Virgil Ortiz back. Next weekend, they're a little bit further down the line. Anthony Joshua, a huge heavyweight matchup against Alexander usyk. My guest this week Keith I keep probably thinks I'm going to talk right off the bat about the flirtation that we saw this week between Jamaal Charlotte and Demetrius Android. But Keith, I promise. No discussion of Android Charlotte. I have exercised that from my mind and I am not going to get invested, especially since I texted someone that would know something about who said there's nothing to it. So I'm leaving that alone. One thing I would say is that I was told that after Demetrius Android parted ways with matchroom, Al hayman was among the people that his people spoke to. So there was some sort of opportunity there for him to join PC. I don't know how close they came exactly, but he wound up signing with Dimitri solita. And seems like he wants to fight Chris eubank, but if there was ever an opportunity for the fight that you've wanted to see, your whole life, Chris Maddox, I think it's gone. Don't tease me with that Demetrius Android talk to PBC stuff, Keith. I'm not prepared for that. I'm just not. That this would. He's not going to get Chris eubank, by the way. I don't know if Chris eubank Connor Ben comes together. I know they're hopeful. They can find a way to make a deal over in the UK, but in the event that Chris eubank does not face Connor Ben, he ain't fighting Demetrius Android. That's just not happening. So it would be in an Android Charlotte. It would be a good fight for Demetrius Android at this point based on what it is options are because he would make good money to go over here to fight eubank. But any other thing before we move on to what we're actually supposed to talk about, I know eubank Connor Bennet is a huge fight in the UK for obvious reasons. That's a pretty tall order for Connor Ben who's a welterweight moving up to I know they will fight at a catch weight and everything, but Chris eubank is much bigger than him. I agree. And this wasn't on my list of things to talk about because it's not a fight that's been made yet and they still seem to have some obstacles to overcome, but, you know, Eddie Hearn, I was reading boxing scene this week. Eddie Hearn had some comments he made over in the UK about how this is not a cash out fight for Connor Ben.

"Will be in the fall Hall of Fame. He just probably won't be there for a first down to pick, but I think I think, you know, he'll be voted in the banks of someday, especially for the guy that doesn't have love for the sport. And he's still doing great things. Yeah. And actually, it blew my mind that Bradley isn't in yet. He probably should be in. So yes, Bradley, we go in ahead of them. Ivanka Calderon, you can still make a case Joel castle, mayor, Chico Corrales, there's quite a few names. We also need to have a separate conversation, Jacob. Yes, we do how fame and why there needs to be three every single year. Exactly how that conversation as well. One. That's gonna start leading to guys that get in, that don't belong. In that Hall of Fame. But that's another podcast. All right, I wanna finish with Danny Garcia, the two division world champion who is back on July 30th at a 154 pounds, making his debut at a 154 pounds. He has not fought since December of 2020, Ben really an active, not really been on the radar since then. Here's Danny Garcia about making his jump to one 54. Well, you know, like I said, I like the fire champions, even like Tony Harrison. It'll be a great fight for me. You know, he's been around for a while. He's a former champion, so I feel like he earned his stripes and, you know, that would be a great fight in the future. Anybody that wants to do four. Laura's called me out. I heard him call me out, so I think that I think he has a belt at middleweight. So we can do that fight. Or any of the champions. Well, there's only one champion where Charles. So whoever, my dream is to be a three division champion. So in order to be a champion, you got to fight and beat the best. So there's really no secret to it. All right, jamel, I'll put it to you. Can Danny Garcia be a player at a 154 pounds? Yeah. Especially honestly, I would say that based off of a circle who is with. If he's right now, he's with the PVC banner right now, all those belts are tied, but then PVC river being honest. Shout out to John Jamil Charlotte. But I believe with him coming in now, obviously getting his feet wet within the division. We all have seen it. He probably need one, maybe two wins before he, you know, he gets a shot at whoever, you know, allows him to fight over there and jamel has all the belts or so, but I believe, you know, long she just acted again and just, you know, puts on a win or two. I think they'll give them a good give him a shot. And that just had the Apple right over there. We've all seen it. It's like round Robin. Yeah, Jake, I don't know what we're going to learn against Jose Benavidez. On July 30th, that's a fight that Garcia, if he's close to his best, should win, but he's an interesting name, at least at one 54, and he sure sounds like a guy that's looking to make the big fight. And he's not just targeting Charlotte. He's mentioned Tony Harrison as someone he'd be willing to fight. That's an excellent fight. He's mentioned eris landy Lara..

"All right, on Saturday, the undisputed lightweight championship will be settled once and for all when Devin Haney challenges George Cambodia in Australia. Down under for all the 135 pound belts, George Campbell, of course, coming off a huge win over to a female Lopez late last year, and George joins me here on the show. George, before I get into your preparation for this fight, what is the last 6 months or so been like for you as you have gone from, you know, relatively unknown contender to four belt world champion. Yeah, look, it's been amazing. The support has been right up there. The whole country behind me, you know, a lot of the world behind me that was so impressed from that big victory I had with Lopez. But my tunnel vision in my obsession got more. I became champion and I became hungrier. I got to build my own private gym, which was real fun. And that's what I put in the work for at this whole camp for at this whole time. I got to really continue to perfect my craft. But these laws did get busy, a lot more people wanted to make me. You did get right back in the gym. I mean, following you on social media was probably a week maybe after you got back to Australia and you were right back in. Actually, I was back in the gym when I went to the Devin Haney JoJo dies for an in the MGM Grand nonstop because I'm never content. I'm always trying to get better and better and that's the corner photo I am so even while I was scoping out my opponents after my big win against Lopez, I was not enjoying the high life. I was not partying. I was not celebrating. I was back into the June because that's what I do. You wrap that Devin Haney fight like you said against JoJo Diaz Devin won that fight for a while, you thought you were going to get vasili lomachenko. Of course it didn't work out lomachenko's got his situation in the Ukraine. How did you feel at the time about pivoting from lomachenko to Devin Haney? No problem. I always said that all the Devin Haney or lomachenko whoever wanted the fight whoever made the best do and everything made sense also thought them both. No problem so I got a lot of respect for lomachenko obviously he went to the war. He's fighting a bigger fight and no problem. Devin Haney was one of the guys that we wanted as well and he came to the party respect to that and here we are. You had the leverage as the four belt champion at lightweight and you used it. You got a multi fight deal effectively in this situation. You're having the fight in Australia. Why was it important for you to have this title defense in Australia? Of course, you know, I had to go earn the builds of teeth in my life as in his backyard. I had to do and I can't let you back to back set. I deserve this, I deserve to have the do the way I want it and the way it makes much sense for my future, my family, but for me I love to fight. And being so passionate about falling, especially here in Australia, I had to bring this back to Australia. It had to be here. I had to defend my belt at home. Nothing else mattered by 40 here in Australia because it's been a long time, so now I get to have my people supported me and that's the most amazing part about it, because I get to really get to.

"You know, to so to speak, like, hey, I'm the real deal. That wasn't a fluke against your female. But he can't ignore the fact that Devin is a phenomenal box and I'm throwing that word out there again phenomenal. So I don't I do. I like that angle. And I like Chris's angle too, you know, the fact that he's not getting under Devin's skin, which means Devin is not going to gay we're off to get out of his game plan. He's going to stick to the script. He never does. Skills pay the bills. He always does. And Bill hating, we had a conversation with him and he brought up a point. Listen, how many close fights have you seen Devin and it's true? We haven't seen him in any close fights. Now granted, you know, he has two names on his resume that we know of former world champs credible fighters in JoJo and linares, but still in all, even those fights were not close in my opinion. And George has struggled with sub Paul opponents. I don't want to call names out there, but in 14 female, this guy has struggled with guys that don't even come close to a Devin Haney boxing ability. Oh, it's Mickey Bates, Lee Sylvia opera. Yeah. I know, but I like Mickey bay. I know. I like picky bait too. I think he's eventually going to fight Devin farmer, maybe sometime. And Mickey bay is his team haney. He spars with Devin. Devin Devin gives him the business. And that's even more help in the camp saying this is what Campbell's has. This is what he does. Everything seems to point in Devin's direction, but I think that not having your father being in Australia, knowing that you have to fight him again and not having been Davidson. Maybe that kind of lifts it up closer to a 50 50 fight, but if that affects him. If that even affects him exactly, you know what I mean? But we're talking about skills and the eye test. Yeah, Devin Haney. Yeah, I would just say one other thing, the and Barack alluded to this..

"He showed durability as well. But you got to edge in the person who never has close fights. The last three of Cambodia's fights were all split decisions. Devin Haney doesn't even come close to split decision. He barely even loses around. It's hard to bet against somebody like that. And Barack, I'll add to that one of my favorite attributes that Devin has is a lot Floyd Mayweather is conditioned. I mean, I've never seen Devin Haney tied in a fight which is so important in the championship level when you're talking about 12 rounds. So here's a guy that is probably gonna be at the same pace that he wasn't the first. He'll be the same pace in the tenth round. That goes a long way. So just look, obviously the attributes are there. The skill, the speed, everything that you need to go in enemy territory and get a win. Now people are worried about enemy territory. People are worried about home, cooking because of what we saw with many pack out and Jeff horne. And I talked to Barack about this early in the week. You know, I said, hey, maybe because of that fight, they're highlighted now. You know, the microscope is under those judges and they don't want to effing up. So they're going to try a best to be as fair as possible because they know they're going to be scrutinized for that. So maybe it might be a blessing in disguise that that happened with Manny Pacquiao and Jeff phone and Devin gets a fair shake when it comes to that decision. I mean, I'm hoping for that because, you know, to both of you guys points, this guy has so many things against him. I mean, look, credit to you all, Judah, who's been in enemy territory when zab Judah for spanx and his son became undisputed welterweight champion of the world. I mean, he's a guy from Brooklyn, New York. He has some toughness to him. So, you know, Devin has some tough people around him, but it's not like having his pops did. So he has a lot of things against him, which I think will add an extra chip on his show, the more motivation to shut everybody up, especially George Campbell's. What kind of sport are we dealing with here where corruption is just okay for us to talk about..

"To make them. I'm here to say I want the fights made where there has to be the zone and showtime showtime the zone, one platform, the other platform, this 7 and third. That needs to be at, and that needs to be said by javonte and his team. And maybe that's what he means by taking the training wheels off, being my own man calling the shots because you and I know and Barack knows that if the fighter wants to fight the fight can be made. A 100% and now that the zone does pay per view, there should be no problem making tanking line Garcia. Yeah, I agree. And look, the reason it has to be a joint pay per view is because look, showtime has invested a lot of money in tank Davis over the years. They deserve to be involved. Similarly, the last 5 years has invested millions in Ryan García. They deserve to be involved. There's no, this is, I mean, tank is the bigger star, but Ryan is still a huge draw. His gate in San Antonio was an excess of a $1 million. He's fighting at new Staples, I refuse to call it crypto. He's fighting Staples. It's just like the crypto either. It's just the sound, right? The sound is so great. But he's going to do a big number there, fighting Javier fortune, who has no fan base. It's going to be all Ryan García fans that are there. These two sides need to get together. It's not as big a fight as Mayweather Pacquiao, but it's a fight that will exceed 500,000 pay per view buys and do a gate north of 10 million. That's not nothing. That's a real number. Probably do closer to a million sales in my opinion. I'm predicting that now if that fight about javonte, Ryan García does a million pay per view sales. I'm saying, I'm saying it now. Can you act like that's freaking crazy? Well, he just said 500. I'm doubly said north of 500, which is a phenomenon nowadays. Could be 5 O one. Could we be 5.

"Not like, I'm not so thrilled about the phones because he's supposed to do that. Brock did he show you anything you haven't seen before? No, no, not at all. I already knew that he can box, you know? I already knew that he had speed power footwork and all of that stuff and he's more so of a boxer than anything. It's just that he happens to have explosiveness. The happens to be faster than most of the fight is he getting there with. So no, he didn't show anything. And then when you got a guy who was throwing shots as wide as Rolly, but he did show that he can take a shot from a really big guy, you know, he took a couple of shots. It seems like every time Rollie would catch him flush, he would leave a mark. That's how hard the kid probably punches. So he showed that he could take a shot and not get flustered, but stay with the game plan and execute what he wanted to do. And Chris, you know, going into this fight, if I'm not sure if you remember, but on social media and doing interviews, take said it. You know, he made it seem as if I noticed God has been below in the ring room. When he was going throwing shots at me with a promotions, he would say, hey, they making me fight this clown because this is my last fight on the contract. In other words, I know he doesn't belong in the ring with me. I know that I'm levels above him, but you know what? I'm gonna knock this guy out. You know, for bragging rights. Like Barack said earlier, so it's not like javonte was going into this fight. Oh, I'm going to fight such an amazing fighter and I'm going to prove to the world that I'm this great. He knew that he was fighting a guy that was less experienced than he would knock him out..

"So that's that's the peak for your kings teams and and for those teams for chris. Weber's kings teams is two thousand two. But i was reading a couple stories retrospectives last couple of days reflections on chris webber and i've forgotten about this but obviously you guys were still whole and going into the next season in that two thousand three season. You should have been in just as good a position as ever to to challenge the lakers spurs and again. It's just that conference is just monstrous at that time. But you guys were right there. I think you had the second best record in the west that year but see web. He hurt his knee around christmas time. And danny i think he gets worse and it and blows out. Some ligaments early in the play offs was that oh two or three season is like could you feel like this is. This is where it turned right. Like two thousand. Two's the peak but oh two three a chance to still like climb that mountain once more. Maybe maybe try to break through at a time when the lakers were per usual a bit. Dysfunctional maybe a little banged up and there was there was there was a pather. Perhaps the you know the spurs and the ones who who. Come out that your. What did you see happening across that last like full year of your of that group you know i think Kobe the best it. He said If you guys beat us that we went to overtime in game seven. You win a championship. Probably win a couple in a row because the championship gives you a different type of confidence. It gives you something bed until you win it. you don't even know that it's there and the inability for us to do that. Because brought in barack miller we were playing good basketball Kion clark jimmy jackson like we had cases but without at championship about that experience without those things all of sudden. I'm getting planet fasciitis a little bit and webbed with the knee in all these different things started happening and unfortunately we were just unable to to to close the deal and you can start feeling a little bit. And that's the that's the unfortunate part howard that talk about when i say that this is what i live with. When i interviewed coach out for the hall of fame i interview disallow. It's painful because in athletic lifetime there's a window in when it closes athletically. You can no longer do anything about it. I can get into coaching. "Literally unhealthy. Air on the eastern seaboard. One hundred and seventy six and remember reading articles about political mobilization china around clean air. One of the points that was made in. That piece was if you're a rich businessman in shanghai. There's lots of things you can do to avoid the traffic or put in a water filter or send your kids to a private school but at the end of the day you gotta go outside and walk in the same area as everyone else in shanghai does and you gotta send your kids out to play in it and i thought about that yesterday but there's literally escape from this air like what whoever you were. Obviously people have to work outside. Have it worse but there is a commonality here that i hope is increasingly dawning on people that this is we. Don't get out of this one. Yeah i live in in british columbia and we've had this experience summer after summer and there is something unique about that claustrophobia. Especially in a place where most people don't have air conditioning or any of the kind of filters because the truth is you can buy your way out of it a little bit you can. You know have a sealed. "He is not just dominating you pretty much any opponent that he faces but to me. Joe ellis joel is scary. In how philadelphia defense can be scary but then you look at the other side of things and you wonder will go through stretches where they may be stagnant or struggles score so i. I don't know if there's a good answer and you also have shooters now like have shooters open up the floor again for seventy sixers that we didn't really see You know the last two postseasons or whatever whatever it may be. So i don't i wouldn't necessarily say one over the other but i would say that the the lack of inside size for the nets combated with what joel embiid into the league he. He's a star drops sir headphone did. It was falling out. But i also didn't wanna touch it. Because i thought it was gonna hang up and zoom. That's fair and we will end though on that note though sir we appreciate. I will look forward to your positive comments on the defense. You and our believe. It's clicking on all cylinders right. You're acting like we're saying they're one of the top defenses in the league. You you just need to be able to look like is yon is going to go for forty nine again. No but some point. You've got to stop like a guy the you got to stop an mba. You can stop a y'all got to get it. But but just to that point against i mean milwaukee scored one hundred seventeen the nets lost by three. They gave up twenty points off. Turnovers and james harden was sitting on the bench like a dance. Where the what's that would do a moral victory. Now we come on moral victory I'm just saying you're asking is yang. Maybe not in. I don't know the when you're projecting you're asking me to project. I think we'll walk. I also think milwaukee's top like really walk us. A tremendous team philidelphia's a tremendous state. Who who knows what. Joel also in sweat like doc rivers wrong. How that changes what you see. I mean i. I don't i. I don't think there is an easy path or easy route or easy answer for any of these teams just because you know a lot is just going to depend on the chess match of what the postseason and i think. That's what we're all excited for a lot as well for all of these teams depending on health Where where does that. Where does that janas block on. Durant rank for you. That was wild. Like i don't think i've ever seen like drake is never been blocked. No no i'm a seven footer. with a wingspan. That gets you up to like eight and a half getting blocked by on that. I've never seen a block. Like that. On a kevin durant type. No no and he came out of nowhere. I was shocked. I was shocked. Yeah i mean janas. He's news a freak. "The biggest factor. That stresses their defense is when they the basketball over and so if you pick out games where they've given up a ton of points or areas they struggle and i'm not saying they're a top tier defensive team but when you're talking about trying to get that bet fifteenth range that middle ground the defense it all circles back to debilitate her. The basketball were able just to to get run outs get easy. Looks and second chance points and taking care of the defence class in that has been such a heavy emphasis in my mind of when you see them able to get stops because they closed out things really well why will because they get in the half court and they have to make some timely stops. They've shown inability to do that. James harden coming. Back like i do. You can look at what you want with what you view him. As fender one he takes care of the been him having another ball handler to be able to take care of the basketball. And to they're switching defense how they have communicated and moved and how he can offend dies in the post at times He was a strong defender. Even like you look at kyrie irving so much comes down to two effort level and engagement each possession which you see more at the end of games. The activity in him gets like there's a lot of areas in. Maybe it won't pan out maybe it will but there's a lot of to me i look i think kevin durant still come back from that injury. Y- he before he got hurt was probably the best defender that they had nicholas. Claxton is finally available after unit. Coming out of health and safety protocols Didn't play the other day. I think probably ramp him up as they get towards the end of the season But steve nash called him maybe one of their best defenders. They've been missing pieces at times. That it it goes back to again if guys get healthy I think you can aspire to be that that round of middle of the pack defense that can do enough to support your offense And what they anticipate to do in terms of putting up points. But i i've said this all season To me so much of it is taken care of the basketball because there has been games that teams have had twenty extra shot fifteen extra shots however many looks and it's made a major difference at the end howard were you. The fact that this late in the season they have way more teams competing than ever before we talked about all the other aspects of this compressed schedule and the weird season injuries whether that's upper down the two game series. And i have had a debate over the last few podcasts about the nets and the importance i guess of continuity of team chemistry does talent win out or will the nets when we look back on this three or four months from now a look back and say well. The nets needed more time as a group together as we often do at the top of every show we bring in somebody smarter than us today. It is sarah stock. The great analyst from yes network can check her out on f s one as well sarah. Welcome to the show first of all. Thanks for having me. This is my first time on yours and howard's podcast. Settled the debate here. Because maybe there's a middle ground. Maybe it's not one side or the other but howard's of the belief and howard even correct me if i'm wrong. That chemistry matters with his team. That the fact that they've only played what seven games together i'm talking about. James harden kevin durant and kyrie irving x number of minutes and that may not change that significantly over the rest of the regular season. That is going to become an issue for this team in the playoffs. I look at it on a little bit of a different or a lot of different lens. Where i think that these guys just awesome durant. It's irving it's hard and all three of these guys are on the floor..

"Hello. This is Chris Taketaro. That's Chris over there. Hello. I'm Rick today. Not unlike other days, we're going to talk about pet peeves. Oh, yeah. I hear a countdown. That this whole this whole series isn't just a string of pet peeves. Yeah. Let's it's an excuse for us to air our pet peeves king rant about our pet. Peeves, regardless of who really wants to know or not so to get the ball rolling. I know Chris has a long list of pet peeves that he stored away in that little noggin. What do you what do you got? Well, I just like start with a disclaimer that sending these pet peeves kind of moral reflection of our shortcomings than the things that were ranting. To get inside of these pet peeves and say, why does this? Let's. On vail. Some some fascinating things might not just old guys yelling at clouds, but I'm going to give it a whirl. You are to get off by saying clip onto Nur's. Oh, yes. I don't mind clip on tuners. Okay. There is a mazing. If you think about them, though, because this technology compare the cheapest clip on tuner that you can buy to the old desktop tuners right of your and they're more accurate. They're more lightweight bureau parts, but I don't like them. And let's figure out why I don't like let's unpack this Chris unpack it and see what it's underneath the dark underbelly of this pet peeve. I think what it is partially is that the start to me is holds the essence of guitar the classic telly heads stock. The classic Stratocaster the classic Gibson. Had stocked things of beauty for someone s and you stick this cheap. Casio like junk on top of it. And it's just kind of distracting more than anything. I'm not going to argue for MoMA. That they are helpful that they are isn't convenient. But. Every all have our pet peeves. I okay, I accept that. When I got my mandolin, and I was learning the mandolin it came with a free clip on tuner while I was learning the tuning of that instrument. I clicked that on there. You know, it was kind of a quick visual aid, great once I went, and how to tune the instrument took it off God it, and I use the old ears or a phone or any other kind of two hundred out of there. So I know why people use them super convenient easy access. You can see them instantly. I don't like them. I don't sorry. I share your view on the on the clip ons for for what reasons you cited. So I mean, you're preaching to the choir here, man. Yeah. It's kind of funky. And again like you say maybe like around the house. It's kind of neat to have training wheels and stuff like that. But when you're at a live show, it is kind of weird to see like, but I see them all over the place. Now, they got that clip on tuner on the head stock on that all these players. Referred to as the fanny pack of. Assessories and some people like took issue with I'm fine with that issue. But I'm like, yeah. It's just kind of a novelty item. I like again, go on YouTube live concerts of people use them. I know more power to you continue to use them and continue to Seve move it inside. And I see them on a classic. It's almost like you have like a pre-war Martin. And you know, and you drill any like one of those pre-empts in inside that Qatar. So you have Priore Martin with a battery rights. I don't know. I think people rely in general on tuners far more than they really need to 'cause everybody likes to have instant visualization on onstage. Your people are watching you wanna quick about it in the stuff. But if you never interact with your instrument as far as brave in tune, I think, I don't know. I think you'll you'll have a better era. If if you're able to do that, and you make yourself do that more often and other thing to point out is even the most accurate tuner if you rely on that for completely tune your Qatar Qatar might not be as in tune as you think it is. Because for me my guitar. I mean, sometimes I have to flatten the G string to get it to sound into. And I don't care what my two hundred says it's my ears. So that might be part of it again, you know, you know, us. Disclaimer. Disclaimer back to
