"Tried it, and then the walk of shame. I. Tried, it. Saw Drying on additional? What am I doing? What we? What was that thing? Just Yeah. It was an apparatus it was A. Device. The device for men Perfect way to put it back which we we had delivered at the radio because the store that sold them was sponsored. Malaria like Oh this. Really, all. Try boxed it unbiased world. It's just sitting there. Right. And then just the shame. Life. And what are we doing in life like? Some human had a make this device. That humans by making a lot of money to and then I. Got The device is an amazing how the human brain works where like you get to a point where using that is exciting his ideas. And then then when done with it. There's this shame and guilt of all right. What is that? That's the brain. It's hormones in the brain I. It's. Like you go from. IDEA. I am the Most Gossiping. So. Foul. What was that from? Cameo. God Oh I remember. I remember thinking that if I, this was when I was living down in. Florida. Is just number thinking if I was ever in a car accident and it was killed and my parents had to come clean out my condo. They'd find it find that. What first of all they would have they'd be like what is. Yeah I mean they'd have to look it up trying to figure out what was it using this for maybe there was foul play. With writing key stuff right to the cops like this could be the murder weapon. This is where you really had some interesting times in Tampa. Jerry I was young and experiment. This you were. Boy You're. Absolutely, fascinating. You had gotten to a point where using something like that was a good idea. Seemed like a great idea. But then instantaneously. You're just appalled by yourself. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway. Well, I do hope that. Chris Carlin has success cameo. We've mid June. We've done a nice commercial for him. If he tells you because you guys are friends, he says. House with Gio I am raking it in. Are you joining up? Dollars. said the yellow people why not? Yeah. I don't know man I, don't know I probably. I would also the other problem with this. I WOULD WANNA make it I be a perfectionist with it and a lot of it would be asking me to like you wish me. Day and Mike's Voice bingos voice or whatever. It would take the time I would sit there and I'd want to make sure that it was perfect. I do a bunch of takes you know what's really funny is for whatever reason I could do the reads at the end of the show no problem right I could talk on the air a talk show live and you plow through it. If I've got a record a video I have problems with that. I don't know what it is. I'm so concerned with the visual I know that someone's going to have that on their phone and they can play it over and over and over again that I it has to be perfect. So there's so many times that'd be videos for sponsors and stuff that I do like twenty takes even the ones I make it through without flooding do over because they didn't like the way my head was or whatever. It doesn't the hair something's wrong the hair do it over and over and over. Again because you say it's taped and you want it to be perfect. Suck my left nut. What was Never mind. bressler bouncing. What thousand dollars. Is Killing himself in their. Up Sorry. That was phenomenal. That was great except. I remember where that came from to on the air? No, it was now. Wasn't he was doing a read any the screwed up and he said that I remember that from that stuff to dude, you're bad guy those are some of the best things like when professional broadcasters are in a in a production room regarding commercials AC case him in the deadline. Howard Stern's stuff where he's trying to get through, reads it it just there's so miserable because you've just done for hours on the air and then you go into the production. Yeah. Yup. Yeah, everybody's got one of those. We have Ceelo to thank for a bunch of those later ones. The. Alerted me to his personal collection oh boy. Some of the best prank calls actually involved. Carlin when he did overnights for awhile. So in that in that folder that CEELO is has the key to the I mean I can't even say these things that these caller said, but they're just He's actually doing sign language where one of them but these guys were absolutely brutal and the the one. The best is when you get a guy sounds totally normal and is set setup is totally normal and he comes in the most outrageous foul thing in the world. There's one guy like, yeah just want to let you know you know the mets are playing well, it really like the way that they're they're going about things like this new-look team and I also like to. blankety blank. Crime. That's nice. Great thanks for checking in. And there have been times when you don't let the delay build back up and you go to the next call and the next guy gets in all that happened a Mussa's once yep, and that's a bad one. He I actually no I it was an overnight with me. Yeah. This is I know the whole thing. So militias is hosting Kevin Burkhardt was doing updates. And Monzo was running the board. Yup. And you can even here on the original clip. Burkhardt in the newsroom going. Through the control room, it might have been open actually you know sometimes like you keep that controls or open when there wasn't a lot of people and you could hear Burke when this guy said what he said so I, it was the wildebeest guy. So the wildebeest guy was also go Buchanan go. So this is total right? There was a prank caller we try to explain because. It was a prank caller nutjob. He was really really good at getting past screeners and I would probably get him seventy five percent of the time but he would still get me twenty five percent of the time. This is before the neo screener and the numbers and everything. And he used to do two things to set up the host for like a minute long with some old baseball thing and then you go go go go go Buchanan goat that was his thing, and the also used to do wildebeest so it's set the host. Next. Worldview wildebeest. Yes. So So here's Moose on a overnight. The guy does is will stick. Moose. Hits the DUMBARTON. Doesn't let it build up because he's like the Willoughby's guy got me someone the next guy's not going to be any bad right. Goes to the next guy without delay building up. So For Non Radio people to delay. It's like an eight second delay. If you hit the dump button to make something go away in the air you automatically go live so boom you're live you gotta wait for the delay to go back up to be able to hit it again. So if you go to call and that call says that Koehler says something bad right after you dumped on, it's going live over here. So the next guy goes. Hey Moves, I've got a question for you. How many times a day do you bleeping bleep bleep someone's bleep. He said. You're burkhart..

"We've talked a lot about cameo how much I have enjoyed cameo. And even on Mother's Day when we really weren't doing anything I mean that was like height of the pandemic in your house stuff and you know getting gifts either get mailed or whatever I got a cameo from my wife and mom and absolutely loved it. I think it's great. We've also talked about how we thought about joining and boomer would be the only one really who would make some money on that and no Phil Simms joined we have some fun with that but we always said Ah. We like ourselves. We're confident. We could do. Okay. But it just doesn't seem like I don't know it's like bigger celebrities than like me you're jerry or AL or whatever. Not Celebrities Guys WanNa Talk Show, right? So it didn't feel right. So I happen to see yesterday. That our old friend Chris Carlin joined Cameo Nice. Twenty. Five. Bucks. It's Chris Carlin. Twenty, five bucks for a personalized message from Chris I appreciate that and then three, ninety nine to chat. To what? With. Him I guess. So I had not seen that feature before the chat feature like talk or text I don't know but chat to me seems like. Like sex stuff right Yeah. Yes. Come on now, what was that sound like stop it? Come on. Now I'm not GONNA put platter. Online nipple. OFF DISCUSSED IT I'm keeping my shirt on. Sorry. I don't know what type of finish you have your sick. Oh JEEZ I thought, I just joined the thing and Faye Pandemonium and Scott. Away a couple times, and then make a hundred bucks a week. What finish? Foot vanish. Why do you want to see my feet? Oh, boy. The sausages solid. Man. That's apartment. All right fine I'll do it. I'll take my pants off. They're gonNA. Make you happy. The MANIACI TWAT. Ayatollah. But. What is the Chad like? What's three? Hundred Nine Chad is at three, ninety, nine, a minute to. Right, how long do you have one nine, Hundred Carlin? I don't think this is. This is a pay line I. It's got to be an online chat. Doesn't it? So what are you wearing? No. No. Sorry we. Remember. Mama. I just googled it. It's a it's a text. Oh okay. So they get your phone number. Yeah. No, I'm sure you do it. That's probably through the CAMEO APP Because if that's like other bigger, celebrities aren't giving her cell phone numbers out point Wackos. BOOMER pucker up. Breathing. Not going too far. Now that I'm not text chat it's not as fun. I thought it was like three, ninety, nine, hundred it is fun because for three ninety nine, it might be worth to screw around with them. Yeah. I suppose I mean. How much like I don't know. If you're if it was on the phone and it was three, ninety, nine a minute and you're a celebrity that wanted to do that. That would be hell honor. Yes. Honestly. Here's the other thing about this this chat thing though like got to cross the debts, the actual celebrity in there and it's not somebody that's very two point if you're right about that. Why the personalized messages a lot but right now let me ask you this though. Yeah. They don't all offer do they. Probably. No chance. I just saw him with the chat three ninety nine. Crap Bull. Picture no-shirt on. This. As this look. Twenty five bucks you think he's priced right twenty I. think so. I think that's a good number. I we we've talked about this if I ever did them for like the angry messages which I think would be fun. Yeah, I. Think Twenty Five Bucks is fine. How would you? What are you looking for? Palmer sought just out. Well that's nice. What are you doing over there? I'm having. Sex Chat with Chris Carlin. On Cameo. All Right Don. funky sounds man. Okay. Oh my goodness. There's some what is it about like three, ninety, nine in chat that makes us all just go straight tour because of the late night on sex because of the late night. Commercials we used to watch. That's why like that's exactly what it was like. There's not a single person that looks at dangles three, ninety, nine chat. That's got to be thinking exactly what you're thinking. With his music in the background. Yeah Do you ever call me honest. I never paid for I remember there used to be like the commercials that would come on late at night, and then you dial it and you'd hear the voice in the background, right? You're like twelve thirteen years old. It's like the funniest thing in those. Hey boy for five, ninety, nine, a minute I'll blow your mind. And then you listen to that, then you had never pay off. Your parents phone bill year right doing that. But you can dial it for free and then you can hear the voices and now that we've done enough. Yeah. But I've never done a no never paid for phone sex. No absolutely people have told me many times that the WFAN calling line is one number off from a sex line like of you I don't know which number it is. Seven, one, eight, one or two, hundred, number eight, seven, seven really. Yeah. I think it might be the last numbers. It's a one off from a sexy sixty, sixty nine. Maybe, it. Might, be. Dan Carter. Furiously dialing all wrong numbers right now. Which one is it? It's gotta be sixty, nine, sixty, nine. Right that would make sense. What about you guys? Do you ever pay for phone sex? Point your. Life. Yes Oh you still need a visual. Yeah. Well I, guess you use your imagination in that. You had the visual took the apparatus home from ten, the station..

"Chris Carlin Courtney Cronin Courtney is apparently scarred it was a rough week as she grew up in Chicago in the in the middle well but is it fair to say in the middle order it we how old were you in the middle of the the bulls wrong chord with someone when Michael now knows like when Michael came back I was born in ninety so I don't know anything just from like having lived experience I have no okay cognition of what happened in those early years I mean sure growing up you you read about it and you heard about it but I didn't I cannot tell you about watching them winning those first three titles because I'm fairly certain I was asleep before that happens so that's been nice via the last chance to actually get to see it piece together in the succession of of what happened back then because I didn't get to consciously you know appreciate that at that age but in watching this it you know in in getting to enjoy a lot of that apparently there was a moment for you last week that was quite dramatic and has taken some of the luster off of the nineties bolts what was well I love Scotty Pippin I have his Jersey he was one of my favorite players of all time you probably even I mean Michael Jordan's the gold of the Gold in my opinion that's anytime anybody wants to argue lebron versus Michael Jordan it's a it's never fun argument that I like to have but like I always respected Scotty Pippin because of his job as a star and as a role player but in learning a little bit more about what happened in the years that my Michael Jordan was gone particularly that ninety three ninety four season in the Eastern Conference semi finals game against the Knicks where there's one point eight seconds left in game three in Phil Jackson draws up the play for for Tony to coach you take the last shot I really wasn't aware that tone that I have Scotty Pippin took himself out of the game refused to check back in and that whole story like I kind of got like anxiety watching it thinking like oh my god what's going to happen exactly I knew that they didn't advance past the semi finals at the next beat them I think Patrick Ewing had an incredible game in the final game but so I knew that like what we was going to end but I had no clue that Tony who coach took that shot and remember watching kind of just looking at the highly be like oh my god is he gonna make it because the story of Scotty Pippin I think is vastly different had they lost that specific game doesn't matter if they're gonna lose a series but Lou if they lost that game and then the story would have come out I think his his legacy would have been tarnished in Chicago but that the you know there's so many things that I think we're learning from this documentary that yes it's been criticized because it's come from Michael Jordan's point of view and you know he had the entire say of what went in what what what did not I get that but I've learned so much about this team that you know just little intricacies of how the whole unit gelled into that didn't gel together in in this being one of them that really I kind of left a sour taste in my mouth okay so to me the most jarring thing that I've heard in this entire series was him saying that he would do it again yeah I could not believe it's one thing to have that happen in the heat of the moment right and you get frustrated because Michael's gone and your the guy and Phil draws up a play one point eight seconds left for crew coach so what are you trying to get with one point a probably your best jump shooter a good look and obviously it worked out but first got a test say that he would still do the same thing again is just astounding to me Courtney I mean if he all of his teammates were forgave him clearly as troubled as they want to buy it I wondered like today what is bill Cartwright think when he sees that what is Steve Kerr think when he sees that when they get to watch it and they hear Scott he said he'd do it again what do they say is that still like I was trying to piece this together because I want to make sure I was understanding the whole the whole story here like clearly he was caught in the middle of the Tony Cuco ge obsession that you know Jerry Krause had in was this basically is a gigantic middle finger to Jerry Krause and the bulls organization for how they treated him with the contract which obviously that happened later on but just the way that he always kind of felt second fiddle even when he had a chance to be a superstar like is that why he's saying you do it again because based on the circumstances I can't I just can't fathom it being able to go back all twenty five twenty six years later and say yeah I commit that act of insubordination again screw I don't like I just can't understand that yeah the only thing I can think of when he says that is that he means if I'm in the same mindset that I was in then I would probably do it again but that's it doesn't sound good were you know were all given on some occasion or another the benefit of having a hindsight is twenty twenty kind of thing do you have any regrets over it and it's just doubling down on it that that's the thing that was the only way that I think maybe he felt like he was trying to set that he if he was still in the same mindset that he was in the moment he would have done it to me when you see that moment and fills drawn up that play for coach that is Scotty in that second saying I'm supposed to be the guy this would never happen if Michael was there yeah and and I I know that he clarified this Melissa Isaacson who cover the bowls for a long time she worked for the Chicago Tribune she wrote a book called transition game about that specific season and he clarified back then look what he meant by that is like what quote what was going through my mind as I wanted to be there not to take the last shot necessarily but just to be an option all game long I've been utilized offensively and now we're taking a last second shot you're going to tell me to take the ball out they didn't actually talk about that like they never got Pippin to say those exact words in the documentary if I remember correctly because I remember when I was doing some research I read that I was like Hey that sounds but that's just not what I'd heard so I was confused by that because why wouldn't he have offered that up was that left out of the documentary to make him look bad I don't know but it's just it's a matter of I don't know if you have to take to get it I've never been a competitor that level of sports so I guess I really wouldn't be able to judge somebody who is so in the moment that he feels like he has to take a last second shot I mean think about Michael Jordan and when they introduce the triangle offense and he bought into it because he he realized he needed other people to win like that Scotty Pippen not have that same sort of buy in because that just it just it's almost like polar opposites of the way Michael Jordan would have approached it versus how Scotty did that season without Jordan well if it was just about being so upset that he was taking the ball out it to me that doesn't wash because we've seen plenty of times with one point eight left you can in ball the ball you can inbound the ball and get the ball back quickly and take the shot so it's not like that would have been completely not an option I to me it's about the fact that he was not the guy and if he was upset that he was inbounding the ball and thus wasn't going to be a part of the play then you know to me that's that's disappointing but I don't take as much out of it against him for that Major League Baseball has outlined how they plan to come back but is it too ambitious that's next on ESPN radio and ESPN app and a lot of time.

"Sirius XM channel eighty Chris Carlin Kevin Connors Taylor Twellman a guy who knows these prospects inside and out Jim now give the executive director of the Reese's senior bowl joins us here on game night on ESPN radio Jim it's Chris Kevin and Taylor and I guess first question for you is what was most surprising to you about the last couple of days with the draft anything jump out right away about how it went thanks thanks for being a god first of all I I was I was surprised at how seamless the will think up pulled off I guess you know more that more so than the pics not much surprised me there terms of what the way guys came up there were any huge surprises but but really how the whole production came up I thought ESPN did a great job I thought they mix the NFL network in gray and then from the team's side you know talking to my buddies around the league it out GM's they said it was they don't have any issues so is big win for the NFL I think I think that there are Roger Goodell was a big winner over the weekend you know just how we you know we had that happen with the fans and played played with them I think you did a great job in the end I really like the human touch of the of of this year's virtual draft it was a you know get away from the red carpet the glitz and all that I really like how this how this draft came off Jim will delve into individuals and and teams in a minute here but to me the undisputed winner of the twenty twenty NFL draft was the S. E. C. sixty three players taken from SEC schools now as a draft analyst and executive director of the senior bowl where you don't have a dog in the fight you just want the best dudes to play that game how do you compare in SEC caliber player with the kid from any other conference at any level in football operatives it's not ESPN conspiracy whole let's see if you think there's there's there's there's not a bias guys then it goes back I'll only take this back you know two or three years ago when I was still working for the Seattle Seahawks a member we're drafted exit we're talking about a big twelve running back and there was a guy from the side SEC school and I was got the southeast player and we were going to have the sole debate these are the fund to pay contract rap groups in my point was that you're in the big twelve they had six defensive players invited to the combine in that same year a Bama had seven defensive player that lets you have six or at six so my point was like the guy that if it if if you guys gonna get going up against NFL talent we can a week out stacked defenses were you know the big twelve got six defensive player of the combine a whole conference so now it's if the if you see it but the best conference for a long time it really has your down here you know it land the recruiting based in Atlanta and Florida it's just it's hard to beat it's really hard to beat it's hard to get these kids out of the southeast and get him up to the you know the house dates in the Michigan Ohio state done a great job you know but Notre Dame Michigan and those schools that may be in the west coast because they have their hands full the the the T. fifty if you're definitely a recruiting advantage J. M. I. A. correct me if I'm wrong but I'm watching the draft especially the first three rounds and it felt like this year and I'm wondering if the quarantine had anything to do with it but the senior bowl had a huge impact on this draft obviously ninety three players were drafted but forty in the first three rounds I just felt like this year they talked a lot about what he did in the senior bowl got him drafted in that spot of my wrong you know I I don't know I didn't I only listen in the first two days because that's on the radio Thursday but our number's actually came out exactly what they were last year for delivery throughout the ninety three overall it last year we had ten first rounders if you're really up for it was to convert your class this year but I do think because the court came over it the bigger school kids and the guy that went to the combine in an all star game definitely had an advantage you know I just there's no way around it the GM's want to draft out there familiar with they feel like they have all the information on it and unfortunately this year a lot of the small school guys and they know they're not combine guys there's just too much missing information on those cats rather than rather than those guys you know you that you go through the fall of the year great emits a priority free agent or seventh round pick of the scout but you're really looking for that validation whether it be an all star game pro day you know the testing data confirm that yeah this guy stacks up with the FCC geyser stacks up with what's playing in the league and they didn't have that this year they got to go to the all star game at the combine so instead of those guys getting pulled up after a good pro day workout they just you know they stayed at the free agent level so that yeah you're there there's something there there's definitely something there at bigger schools get bigger school got didn't pick this year I can't imagine executive director of the Reese's senior bowl with us on game night on ESPN radio Chris Carlin Kevin Connors Taylor Twellman Jim what player had you most excited coming out of the senior bowl and where did they end up were you surprised by a couple of guys out of the senior bowl where they might have gone well I was really excited about Justin Herbert what he did down here not only on the field he was good every day we talked last year about Daniel Jones and how he he struggled the first couple days in related to build into a really good laugh their practice in the game but and it's hard on the quarterback they're doing stuff they've never gonna have to do before they're you know they're huddling up there getting play calls from coaches or spit that purpose out there getting under center also if if it's a big it's a lot for those guys to handle it just it was great other than to see him progress through the process was was awesome same thing with Jaylen hurts I mean nobody helped himself through the process more than Jaylen hurts he probably came to mobile in the fourth or fifth rounder for most teams yeah we saw we went you know he goes in the in the fifty third of Philly so it was you know it was really cool same thing with your phone can lodge fund cannot probably can't dot your toward the twenties for most teams that ended up thirteen at San Francisco and then has chance to be a real impact player so no that's the value of our game to that since I got here two years ago really try to let you know convince these agents that you know it the guys like divine Kinlaw they've got as much to gain or more than you know some of the smaller school guys that really be the platform because if you move from the twenties to thirties I mean he probably made ten million dollars on a signing bonus so it's a miracle did you wanna do that as well but there's a lot of stories there isn't there so we got to keep down your help so all the small school guys we thought Kyle Dugger come off at like thirty six or thirty seven the patriots you know division two guy going to be in the patriots first picked up lots of cool stories up lots of fun lots of fun things to track over the street as yeah but I I want to I want to ask you about one player before we let you go Jonathan Taylor is a guy who baby outside of Joe burrow had the most successful college career statistically it anyone that I can think of in this draft I've heard two different analysts tell me two totally different things one that he's gonna be a store the other one told B. softy fumbles too much how do you protect your Jonathan Taylor the colts I can see both Thursday night he's a he's got he's got such an upside because of the size speed combo does he run as big as this measure both no we did not but he's got he's got great vision the the big do they can really roll but you know if they use it to cut you short we're gonna let you go because we're up against a hard out here good stuff I got Jonathan Taylor Jim Nagy it's game night here on ESPN radio and ESPN there's now an air Jordan on the Packers well the original you can see Sundays on ESPN I'm talking about the last dance baby we recap episodes three and four Monday I'm going to win go six eastern on ESPN radio and ESPN two anyone who has ever needed self storage knows what a hassle it can be you have to rent or borrow a truck and then find someone to help you move your stuff and let's face it moving furniture and heavy items without damaging them isn't easy renting the unit is worse the hidden fees and admin costs are scarier than the dingy facilities you're leaving your stuff then.

At-Home Cooking in the Time of Social Distancing With Adam Rapoport | House of Carbs

"Oh you and I were exchanging notes last week about you know doing a pod. We wanted to provide a kind of public service out. There tall are taste. Buds all are hungry. Homeys at our at home doing the appropriate thing. Under the guidelines provided by our local and state and federal government in terms of social distancing and a whole bunch of us are now all of a sudden home cooks on a much more frequent basis with more time than we previously expected or anticipated And so I reached out and you were. You said Yeah I have some thoughts and You know even since the original exchanging of notes last week You and the good folks at bone apetite have been coming up with all kinds of rich concepts and ideas and guidelines and you know sensitive direction. I want to start with your newsletter post. That went up arrived in my email last night. Which you know has the tagline. Cook the food that makes you feel good because that to me really is a helpful vital kind of reminder about you know the place that we're in the physical space that we're in and and you know the challenge that we're all sort of confronted by And you mentioned in the newsletter. How you know you yourself in terms of with your own family had been cooking some some things you know about the right away. You're cooking food that I would sort of put in in a category that that I characterize as indulgent but but now you know we're we have to cook in ways that make us feel sustained But also you know able to to perform in the new world that we're living in So wh what are you looking at in terms of cooking the food that makes you feel good? Yeah I you know week one as I guess you call it when we all sort of realized. We're GONNA sort of lockdown ourselves for quite awhile. Perhaps last week was interesting that I think a lot of us kind of adrenaline is like all right. Let's let's be positive about this. Let's lean into it. It's almost like when there's a blizzard coming and you start cooking a lot of food and I got double batching Ball Nasariyah recipes My wife's making chocolate chip cookies with our son by the end of the day. You're like man. I need a cocktail and by the end of the week as like Mad. I cannot I gotta like dial it down a little bit because it was like big dinners every night. Having drinks it was all about home cooking three meals a day and at some point I realized okay. Like let's keep cooking but let's at least be a bit more sensible about what working? Then we have a columnist Cristina Che. She started this Hashtag gentle foods. I was like what? What is the foods be that was like I like the sound of it? I don't quite know what it means. What I'm intrigued and today was saying like food. That's like a blanket. It just makes you feel good. I guess you could. Kinda describe it as healthy comfort food if that makes sense and chase someone. Who's a you know? She's an avid eater. But just making things like yesterday for lunch I made a lentil salad lentils or the easiest thing in the world to make your phone unsalted water through in some chopped up Celery some carrots and I assembled in the water with them some herbs and I had to like a nine minute hard boiled eggs a little more than a a a Romney but not at Chalky Yolk will vinaigrette analysts very satisfying. But it's not like knock you on your ass cooking. That's exactly why thought this was the right way to kind of frame this conversation you and I are going to have is because the impulse that you described at the outset of like okay. This is a food challenge. That's in front of us and we have you know. Now this opportunity time-wise where you you don't feel like you have to rush. And so the inclination is to be a bit more indulgent Just in terms of you know heavier kinds of meals you can take the time to let things braise and Stu and you know this sort of day and age of social media everything. I don't WanNa say it was showing off but there was a certain camaraderie among everyone that everyone wanted to share what they were making and talk about it and you wanted to sort of put your best foot forward cooking wise at every dinner you made had to be some sort of statement that we're all sharing together. Let's let's make this as delicious in Poudel as possible this whole ordeal. We're in right now Exit it was fun I just I just don't think it's sustainable so again. Like right now being a little bit more sensitive balanced and we'll get there and and that doesn't mean I'm not gonNA enjoy cocktail at the end of the day today but I'm just sort of being a little bit more sensible and yeah whether it's making a batch of beans and you can make beans without the Hawk. You can do things that are satisfying without being punishing in that sort of rich bistro. You know bottle of red wine. Stay Crete SORTA WAY and two everybody's credit The sense of community that emerged as everybody in in that sort of you know food vertical which is all of us but really people you know folks that that liked to traffic in sharing pictures sharing recipes and having ongoing social media conversations about Cooking rightfully. You know jumped in with Gusto. I mean you you mentioned After you put up the the BOLOGNESI recipe your boy Dave. Grohl giving you a seventeen step by step string of texts with pictures and information about all everything that he had going. You know his version of the ball Enezi. But that's not sustainable. That's not every day. That's not how we're going to be able to feed ourselves and feed our families daily So there needs to be some kind of balance and we're this is exactly what you would expect in week. Two right. It's it is. It is a balanced kind of I outstare coming back Earth. A little bit and you know and we posted a ton of service conduct the way I look at it on a petite right now are sort of mission is twofold one on one hand. We need to provide the service and the recipes. That home cooks need. And Right. Now we are all home talks So that's a lot of the slide. Shows like you know. I my table when we did. Last week was eighty-nine recipes with five ingredients. Fewer Dash seriously I love. I'm a simple cook at heart when I'm at home and these these kind of the recipes I love best. We provide a lot of cooking advice. many other slides shows and then the other side of that is not only do people need cooking inspiration advice but we all need company right now. We all need companionship. And if you follow bond petite on Youtube and you see all our test. Kitchen Editors Andy in Bali and Sola and Chris Carlin everybody And these people feel like friends to you five and a half million youtube subscribers and Claire and Brad and everything. It's important that those guys are so popping up on your youtube feed in our epide- instrument feed and right what we're going to start doing. Started this week which will show up. End of this week is all the test. Kitchen editors now have iphone. Eleven's with professional grade microphones and tripods. And they're going to be recording all of their own. What were test kitchen videos now at home in their own apartments and I think that's GonNa be really interesting as you'll still see those same familiar faces but now you're going to be their pets you. Maybe you'll meet up fiance or a husband or a way to get roommates in his whole sort of universe of ancillary characters. Sort of populating the body cinematic

"The bears for NFL nation ESPN dot com so I was on yesterday but it was not heard here in the US open thousand when I was on the air a paycheck says so I was on with Courtney Cronin covers the Vikings and Chris Carlin who is a talk show host for ESPN New York we did a show together it was a three person booth and we had J. D. on it we talked to JD about number of things around the bears so Trubisky can't feel good about Nick Foles being in the mix with the bears canning let me get this year you know it's the final year of his original rookie deal so the contract is only about four point four million as far as the base salary the cap hit is around nine plus which is still pretty manageable even if Trubisky is the backup quarterback we certainly seems like guys he's he's going to be at some point here twenty one million dollars is fully guaranteed in that Nick Foles deal on that's a lot of money compared to what they're paying Mitchell Trubisky and we know that Nick Foles has those deep connections with Matt Nagy who coached them both in Kansas city and Philadelphia with the bears new offense of coordinator bill Lazor the quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo also there's a lot of reasons why Nick Foles is here and given that there's not going to be likely any sort of offseason program but we don't know when training camp is going to start the bears guys might only have a couple of weeks to make their decision on a quarterback I could see this scenario just knowing how the bears operate that there's this illusion of a competition when training camp opens in Trubisky as the incumbent is the number one guy for the time being but at some point I think all signs point to Nick Foles being the quarterback based on the money they're paying him this year which is gonna be awesome for sports talk radio in Chicago because you won't have people calling in after games talking about Trubisky I will miss hearing Chicago accents try to waddle their way through that and but you know for by and large it's a service for the people now JD when you take a look at what this does for the alliance of Ryan pace and Matt Nagy they've been in lockstep the entire time that both of them have been in Chicago in this regime how could this possibly test them they'll be certainly this is a move that you make if you're trying to save your job is there any way that you see this going where both sides could split ends could potentially splinter what those two are doing for it from their respective jobs here's how court it'll test of them by the way I missed a what's wrong with your been ski phone calls getting those emails are wonderful what's with your Stravinsky guy on clearly Ryan pace it knowledge to that he needed Matt Nagy to have a big voice in the new quarterback coming in here if you look at the previous two quarterbacks that pace is responsible for Mike Glennon will play and Trubisky Matt Nagy was not in Chicago for either of those two decisions but Nick Foles is a Matt Nagy guys so I can tell you that the head coach of the bears and the new coaching staff had a voice in all of this this was the first step Courtney really here is getting full now the true test of their relationship will be when the time comes when Matt Nagy says okay Ryan I gotta go to NYC I can't play Mitch Nicks gives us the best chance to win here we go and now as a general manager who really put a lot on the line by moving up and drafting Trubisky second overall not taking Patrick Mahomes taking to Shawn Watson that's going to be difficult for Ryan pace to accept we haven't got to that point yet because the bears don't have to play a game next week but when they have to start playing games and play the best quarterback on the roster and with every single person in the building knows probably that person will be Nick Foles that's when that relationship I think will be put to the test alternately JD I got a question about the Stravinsky I got a question you might need to inform her question thank you so much appreciate it No Way and appreciate all your thoughts about it is there a game or scenario that told you that Trubisky was turning in the wrong direction do you recall all honey the first game against the Packers last year that was a nightmare and I'll tell you guys why you know the bears are coming off this twelve win playoff season in two thousand eighteen in Trubisky played okay remember I'm saying okay he had a six touchdown game against Tampa Bay who had the worst secondary in the NFL that you're by far that was a confidence elder type team when the bears ran into good defenses Trubisky struggle but they still won because they had this historically amazing defense if you think of all of you watch the bears that year they had spent fuel position like you wouldn't believe because the defense gave them all this plus fuel position this court all these touchdowns defensively the numbers offense simply weren't great but they were good enough the hope last year was that Trubisky in year three would make these great strides and then the Packers game the opening of the NFL season the centennial and I mean he bonds he bombed in that's when Matt Nagy said although this isn't gonna work I gotta change things and he goes solo conservative the next week against Denver that he almost loses to a terrible Broncos team in early in the season last year the Broncos were bad they got better as the year went on they almost lost that game on the road headed the game winning field goal to win so right away you knew last year that the offense that Matt Nagy was trying to run this quarterback was not going to run it and right there was the root of the issue and it never really got better throughout the entire season ESPN bears reporter Jeff Dickerson joining us right now they went out and added Jimmy Graham this week is that just hope there's that hope at this point that he can help you offensively that you have another weapon therefore fulls or Trubisky to work with at this point because from the outside looking in it appears as if the bears just don't have enough weapons Chris I don't know what that movie is I'll be honest my friend I'm not sure what Jimmy Graham is going to bring this team I mean nine million guaranteed there's the no trade clause that fuel gauge reported on this morning I've seen the contract all of its almost entirely front loaded as far as the guarantees go but they're gonna pay him next year to be a major contributor on offense that I can guarantee you and if you watch Jimmy Graham the last year with the Packers for me it didn't seem like he ran very well didn't catch all that well it was almost as if the league had begun to retire Jimmy cracked down on its own and then the bears swoop in and they give in this deal and they already have Trey Burton who's been a major disappointment the Philly special who signed out of a big deal three years ago still has guaranteed money left on that contract he's injured again coming off another offseason surgery the former second round pick in two thousand seventeen the same draft they took Trubisky is Adam Shaheen he's almost a complete bust they have two very curious ought to tight end contracts on the books they're gonna have to draft a tight end it's not a good class of tight ends I think Cole combat for Notre Dame is probably the consensus top tight end in this group the bears don't have a first round pick they've got two second rounders they might use one of those picks on a tight end so it's a tough contract to justify can't tell you exactly what Ryan pace's thinking they haven't made him available yet because of everything that's going on but I can tell you guys that was not a move that was well received in Chicago at all so certainly he's on the hot seat of sorts as we've talked about but with Matt Nagy and know that you can kind of look at this move it and say at the end of the day Mitch Trubisky ended up being the scapegoat for people trying to keep their jobs but how much pressure do you think is on Nagy from a play calling perspective to try to get this offense back to the version of itself from two thousand and eighteen now the knock that Nick Foles gets a lot of the time is lightning in a bottle but for a defense it's still this good as a lot of key players back and ready to go for two thousand twenty doesn't feel like you need more than lightning in a bottle can Matt Nagy bring that out of Nick Foles and how does he get there yeah and they weren't even that good in two thousand eighteen according I think that's really the crux of the issue is you know the offense hasn't been what what needs to be now I think that a common theme that common thread here is that the quarterback has been primarily except for the game he's missed due to injury Mitchell Trubisky so changing that out probably in their minds is going to help out but I thought that Nagy guys was very honest when we spoke to him at the combine it's got to change the offense can't run when he ran you know the any reef system the true Andy Reid Kansas city system in Chicago it's going to have to be more of a west coast style we'll get a change of the gonna run the ball more they drafted the amount coming to third round at Iowa state last year they never committed to him here okay numbers but again if you watch the bears there was never a rhythm established on the ground the run plays were not very creative to recall one I mean touch the ball a crazy number of times and had like four hundred yards of offense I mean he was the king of just running out of bounds you've never seen anything like it because it is there was nothing that was working the offensive line didn't block well so I think Nagy certainly identifies this that's why there were so many changes made to the coaching staff he got guys in here that he has more of a relationship with I think the one thing that people forget is like when Matt Nagy leaves Kansas city Andy Reid says I love you Matt I wish you well by the way you're taking nobody from the coaching staff with you like that happened in nags like okay and so we hired these guys based on recommendations that most for the most part he had not worked with before well that didn't work out as well as he had hoped so now he gets a chance to recycle some people bring in some old allies and the hope is that collectively they'll figure this out help out the quarterback but again running the football has got to be something they do better in two thousand twenty I think everyone in that building a knowledge is that Jeff with a move for Nick Foles how close are the bears to Green Bay or Minnesota in the north.

"We'd store. That's what it's going to be. Why not? All right. Let's head at eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty cents. Six poll is up at Chris Carlin because Twitter has an issue with us at WFAN is down for the moment. So our our poll is on my side are on my Twitter page at Chris Carlin are the NEC's the new Cleveland Browns. The early returns are not good Jason in New Jersey. Jason what's cooking, buddy? Boy. Hey, guys, going on love listening to you guys. Thanks. I want to talk about the next and she got bought it up. Free agent. Really go back to a team that was in last place with LeBron James. And that's basically because he was going home to Cleveland like they've gone this route before of hoping free agent comes there, and they always swing and miss. You know, their best piece now is a six foot something guy who can't get through the season. And that's the only piece I had together. That's the way they're going to go about doing things they're going to be striking out again look like this off season. Well, at least the draft Jason is before free agency. So the drafts in June free agency is until July. So if Zion is here, then maybe you have a better shot. What true, but they gotta start putting pieces together and just kind of stopped praying that people are going to go there because there's no real Lord playing in New York anymore. You guys get the play there. Once a year that's about it. And that's all he really seemed to want to do. Well, they're doing a good thing or trying to trim the fat. Then get rid of Courtney Lee in his canter and Hardaway then it can open up. Does that open them up potentially to? Able to get to. And then you got to figure it out. But here's the thing about Hardaway. What you're saying before is if it's gonna take a future first round to move them. You know, you gotta find a team who's willing to say. All right. We'll take a future we'll still be in tank mode in twenty twenty two and that will be the hawks. But he was already there. I router with Hardaway to get rid of a twenty twenty one. Yes. Because I'm saying, okay. If one of its twenty twenty twenty twenty it's tough because I'm thinking. Okay. Well, it depends may disagree rid of him. So I can have the right to maybe sign a good secondary player. Like now, specifically player like Aretha somebody like that to come along with that to play that you want someone waiting. Somebody like going to be a complementary piece. Yeah, I'm still trying to get Durant. But you still going to have the guy's gonna take a little bit getting rid of and his canter, Courtney Lee, and Tim Hardaway junior and your trading a first round pick your doing that. So you get Durant Kyrie now Durant at a reasonable. But I'm saying that, but I'm saying you still gotta get had loads have a little. Yeah. You get somebody like a resource, Gordon or my boy who was play Crawford. Somebody that's gonna come. Well. I love the Senate Gibson to fill the roster with veterans as willing to play for less because they have hope that they could compete win something I know because he saw that what happened when Amari Stoudamire and mellower both here. I mean, obviously, the salary cap has gone up a lot since that happened. But you basically have two guys and you traded the rest of the roster, and then you had to start filling in Harrison, Manhattan, Harris what's going on? How you doing? You're talking about the Knicks personal issues team cancer made a decision to take his eighteen million dollar it eighteen million. So when you made that decision yet to realize that if things went sideways, they decided to play all young players that he might be FOX out of playing time. He knew lowest going to give them the kind of money. He's gonna get he took his money. And this is what happened. Nobody also knew. But to be realistic about it Harris today's NBA he also knew that he could take eighteen million. And if things were not going away he wanted them to go. He could do this unlikely forces way out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Try to force his game doesn't translate. He's not a guy who other teams know exactly what he is. He's a double double is what he is. I mean, look at look at what people are. You can't play in the fourth quarter. Just you can't believe my second point real quick about Tim Hardaway. It's free. Came here at the beginning of the year. And if you remember I mart, he played really well, two more. We cannot be your first option. And that was the problem. He they were counting on Tim Hardaway to take, you know, twenty shots tonight and to be the guy, and that's not what he is. Well, actually, they're counting on Kristaps presents to be the guy in Hardaway was going to be the complimentary guy. Right. Well this year knowing porzingas, this is why they've won ten games for the first month. If you recall hardly, we score about twenty-five playing. Well, he's actually doing other things going to the basket people were actually saying, you don't want might be worshiping a million dollars. And then he got hurt and the team is just kind of falling apart because when you lose every night. Everybody looks worse. And I understand that. But we Hardaway's your even your second option. You're a bad team. And he's second option still expensive the contract was was terrible. Actually, let's play the audio if we can of Tim Hardaway yesterday. So obviously Alonzo tree are you heard about the DM? He sends a DM to a fan, basically saying, what do you think I was gonna let Eric Gordon shooter? Three knows supposed to be a switch implying that Tim Hardaway junior was supposed to pick up Gordon, and he didn't do it. So Tim Hardaway junior was asked about..

"Trunk podcast. Speaking of the original lineup of the band, there is a new song which is really good called. It's another day that was recorded with the original lineup for the shows did went to number one. It's really stayed in top fifty two months. I was shocked. Number one. The DVD's out. Number one, I'm looking for the check. Mic needs to pay off all those lawyers. YouTube video the videos at a half a million hits. So so. So you got that there's a live record DVD that goes with Lynch was on with me, not too long ago. We did a private thing in Austin, and he came on the air with me a little bit and. Seems like the vibe is good. I know that you love playing with Jon Levin. John's a friend. I love. I love John, but obviously there's always that interest in that original band with Jeff, George George said just a couple of weeks ago when he was on that, he wouldn't rule out doing some stuff again. How do you guys feel we have an offer on the table coming up in September making. I talked about yesterday we have made my mind because mic and I make to think about it. I checked the franchise. The mic Brown Don dock, and John Levin over twenty years. Chris Carlin the ban longtime. I have to check the franchise. He's got Lynch mob, but you know, with these when these we call them, honeypot shows come up and they say, hey, would you would you mind if George played and we'll give you a crazy mount of money. And and so we did their Japanese tour, but now we have maybe maybe a gig coming up in September. Seventh in Minneapolis at a big casino festival, huge festival, and I haven't talked to John about it yet, but I have to keep my respect for John Levin wants to John Levin's toes because he's my, he's my brother. He's one of my best friends, so I'm gonna talk to John and so they made an offer. I said, I'll play with George. We don't mind playing with George, but it's going to have to be Georgia, John. It's going to be George Lynch joins doc. So John would stay on, you'd have to. Oh yeah, we have one time and it was wonderful. Really, I didn't know that you ever played George n John played on the. Yeah, loud park park in Japan. George was in the next room with Lynch mob he wanted to play. So we'll come on over play tooth and nail with us. And so quickly, John was going to do what I go. Just both of you play the same thing that's on Georgia's at remember it anyway, watching it and they did, and they did at the same time. And I said, listen. Pretty cool breaks down. It just is really Nico, Tori. John Levin George at that time, when that happens, he'll laugh and it'll be what I go. It's passing the torch. Here the two of moral fifteen thousand people and in the middle of that riches up gives Georgia push pushback. What are you doing right in the middle of this. He did it. Video. It's just hilarious. Didn't realize they ever play together. George seem to pose new off like he wants to do a reunion. Know if he's going to join us, come out, join us on songs. We're not going to do a show. The four guys only deal is. Mama ground, Christmas carbon. Don. Donkin can play with your, but you don't. We don't get. No, no, we're talking. He could come on our stage. So how much does how much how much would George conceivably place remember. We're talking sixty eight songs. Okay, so maybe it'll be it'll be an internet Facebook, YouTube sensation, video wise because easy do sixty songs and I said, not. I'm not listening George. I'm not. I'm not banging on you, but he has to remember them. That's don't yesterday this first time I've heard of this and I said six to eight songs once you're going to figure cure. Put a lot time into remembering practicing. I've heard that a lot lately from south listen. He could join us for six or eight songs that way the Bank, it's keep going into. The way to do it and I went, yeah, let's just do what he's spending..

"I think bart scott maggie gray and chris carlin will stay in reduced form which puts them in a bizarre position which is why i'm curious what they're going to say on the radio today but yeah yeah i look i again when you when you've been around as long as it's shocking is usually something i don't say but yeah i'd say i'm shucks shocked so neal is there like for those who are sort of francesa allah gist like what should we asir tain here it's a guy who i think miscalculated a little bit of his market value but also and like everything else i don't disrespect especially somebody's about to go on fulltime radio in toronto you know it's an ego thing it's very hard to give this up and maybe he miscalculated that he would miss the being mike francesa more than he thought is that fair roughly a month ago when we were coming up to april i which is when he was supposed to be available to do it every once and i was actually surprised at how frankie was in saying on the record about how the bigger adjustment than expected he missed it more than expected so yeah he's actually admitted that so the fact that he kind of needed to get back to some kind of forum to speak as it is not a shock the fact that it's happening if they in certainly shocked but there aren't that many other options locally i mean nationally there's a lot of things you can do podcast which is what everyone thought he was going to do but but you know local radio there's to new york sports stations and w are kind of dabbles in it and they carry them that's but he wasn't going the sp n and i don't think they wanted him to be replaced mike.
