"Not be My victory alone or our victory alone would be a victory for the American people for Democracy for America. There will be no blue states and red states when we win. Just the United States of America. God bless you all. And may God protect our troops. Thank you. All right. You've been listening to vice President Joe Biden. I was just kind of waiting to see if he's taking some questions from anybody there, but it doesn't seem so. He spoke for about five minutes, of course J Center at the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware. Really? I think the main message of this, saying that he is confident he and his team that they will remain victorious. After all the states are called. He does believe that they will have those 270 votes. Electoral college votes that will give him the White House. But his point was about saying what he might have run as a candidate as a Democrat, that the result. As president. He will be an American and he will be ruling not ruling. I should say, but running the country for everyone, no red, no blue states, he said. Specifically, I also thought it was interesting that he talked about an extraordinary turnout. We've talked about that a lot here at Bloomberg and that Ah Ah lot of people came out to vote Specifically, I want to bring in our Bloomberg News. White House correspondent Josh Wingrove. So Josh Vice President Joe Biden coming out looking very cool, calm and collected. Saying he expects to be victorious. But of course, awaiting the outcome like everyone else. Quick speech five minutes Why did he do that? Because Trump is trying to declare victory in crucial things that look like they're about to swing the bite, and there's sort of two speeches you can give in this kind of situation. One is like we're feeling good about our chances. We want every vote to be counted it, Senator Joe Biden give a version of that speech last night and kind of just now. Bye bye, Preston my pants give a version of that speech that our guest is just a early this morning, But Trump is declaring victory. Oh, are cute, you know, in particular states but also accusing are putting in activations of fraud or broadly. The Trump campaign today declared victory in Pennsylvania, where there's still a million votes to be counted. Those votes are mail ballots disproportionately from Philadelphia and conclude and Pittsburgh. Excuse me. They're likely to skew heavily Democrat and they will make this a close race if not by then lead in that state from suing to stop temporarily the counting of those ballots and declaring victory in Pennsylvania. This is highly Unusual. And so Biden, it seems, is coming out more or less to try to calm things down a little bit when his opponent is with, you know, no real basis, in fact, declaring Victory in Pennsylvania, one of the crucial swing. It's no network has called sense of any of the state of Pennsylvania is still counting ballots. Pennsylvania is still in process. We do not know who has won it. And Trump could win it providing good women We don't know, but this is all very unusual, but Biden right now is either essentially Pennsylvania, Georgia or Arizona. Any one of those three clinches it provided because you've been called, is the winner of the conference. And it looks like he's gonna win Michigan. He's already being called. The winner buries under the Trump campaign dispute, If in fact he is And he's already won this, but the Trump campaign is they think that will actually win. Erica. Right, listen, it ultimately comes down to once you have the vote count. It is what it is now, when there are really close, relax elections, whether it's a half a percent of 1%, depending on the state. That is when a candidate can call for a recount, which might make the decision. Go on a little bit longer, Correct. Right? Absolutely there. So they're calling for recounted with constant, for instance, that even Scott Walker is an advisor to the president. I think that's gonna work out so well for them. I mean, Trump is calling for a recount in states where he's lost. He's holding out for counting in states where he's trailing like Arizona and in states where he's winning, But there's still a bunch of ballots counted. He wants about counting to end, so his position depends on the safety you're talking about. Yeah, exactly. In what's already been an unusual election campaign year. It just gets AH little bit funnier as each day goes by. Very Tosh. Thanks so much. I know you've been a busy guy really appreciate checking in with you. Bloomberg News. White House correspondent Josh Wingrove. Joining us on the phone now, despite all the uncertainty, or at least some uncertainty that still exists surrounding the US election summer saying there is a clear victor already and that has to do with domestic cannabis Cos We definitely saw some of these stocks moving today, initially rallying. Then we saw some selling. Some concerns that it wasn't a blue wave, and that might make it a bit tougher for the regulatory environment. When it comes to cannabis. Let's see what Chris Beals has to say He's the CEO of California based read maps. They provide tech and software used by cannabis, consumers and businesses. He joins us on the phone in L. A. Chris, Nice to have you here with us. You've been doing this for a couple of decades involved in this industry where we in the evolution of cannabis, especially based on Some of those ballot initiatives that we saw yesterday, certainly, including in my home state here in New Jersey, where they passed recreational cannabis. Yeah. Thanks for having me. So you know, I think really what we saw here, Wass. I think Alec tenable Landmark Knight in the sense that you had five different states. Ah, passed unanimously ballot initiatives for cannabis legalization. I think it's worth noting that, um, you know what While these ballot initiatives have passed, the hard part is actually still ahead, which is the state's moving forward with legislation and the regulatory framework to support that, right. But you know that being said, I think there were there were fundamental messages that came out of this that I think, actually implicate. The shape and color in which cannabis legalization will occur. Moving forward and undoubtedly, we already know to Jersey, which he specifically mentioned immediately puts a huge amount of pressure on New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland all before with adult use initiatives or sort of legalization regimes. There is still a CZ. You mentioned a federal criminal statute against the industry. You know what's the likelihood that we get something done? Let's assume it is Joe Biden in the White House, but we still have a Congress. That split. I mean, what's the likelihood that we get? I think that we've been talking about just looking at the stocks that initially the rally because of what came out of the election's around the country, but then all of a sudden it because there are less Democrats who seemed to be more sensitive, not sensitive, but more Prone to be, you know, more positive when it comes to doing some regulatory oversight, you know on cannabis, so I do wonder how you see it. Yeah. I mean, I think the 11 of the messages that came out incredibly clearly last night is there is widespread bipartisan support when you look about the code and Mississippi deeply red state in both of those states in Mississippi, in case you have a medical ballot initiative passed with approaching sort of the 70% are actually over a 70% Yes, vote. At the same time, sort of repudiating a ballad and I should have put on by the state that would have limited or crippled the scope the size of the medical system. Conversely, in South Dakota, not just move for adult record her medical legalization, they also before the total use legalization in the face of the governor. Doing no advertisements.

"Let's learn more about the trade Charlie laying it out really beautifully for us on this Wednesday, Vince Signorelli He's with US global macro strategist at Bloomberg News. He contributes to the macro squat desk. You can find it, but just going to squat. Go on your launch pad. Dave Wilson is with US stocks editor of Bloomberg News on the remote access from New Jersey insignia Rela Dave Wilson. Vince, Let's start with you. I don't know about you, but I got about three hours sleep because I just could not go to bed and then watching market reaction. It was just kind of nonstop, but What have you guys been blogging about? They got to do these elections on the weekend sleeping in the next hour. I want my kids. Just a quick headline. Just crossing for you. CNN is calling Wisconsin for biting. That's just hitting our tape. At the moment Markets markets are looking at the lack of a blue wave. As basically being a positive because we will not get the tax hikes that the bite in administration had suggested, because they won't be able to get through. The Senate will also seeing the other side of the coin of this isn't and I must say, I'm really confused that were rallying a CZ faras. We are on this because the other side of the coin is We're not likely to get the big stimulus package. We would have gotten under wave even under Ah Democratic House and Senate with Trump as president, because, while McConnell said this morning that he thinks we should have stimulus before the end of the year, and there was a need for another stimulus package. He's given no indication whatsoever that he's willing to go past that 500 billion mark where you have the house to point to threaten and ATT least Republican president at 1.7. So even if we were to get a stimulus bill, it's going to be a meager one. Not not, the more that the market really is looking for. And the virus hasn't gone anywhere Cases record cases in Europe. When it started there. It came here. There's no reason to believe. You know, everyone's talking about vaccine. Where, right, Right. It's certainly not coming tomorrow. I mean, everybody's working. Good. Yeah, I just don't feel good going to sustain long term, right? And you continue to remind us that folks, the virus is still here. Dave Olsen come on in on this because I'm looking at the best performing groups in the S and P 500 health care, the top communications services information technology. Consumer discretionary. I mean, the first trade feels really big time on today. No, absolutely. And you put those groups together and what do you get? You know, it's not just about taxes or economic stimulus. It's also about you know what happens to the health care system. If it's pretty much status quo him and the potential for a divided government, you know, people are satisfied with that. You certainly see it show up in terms of health care. Best performer among the 11 main industry groups in the S and P 500. That's the health insurers that are, for the most part, leading the way. UnitedHealth anthem signal all up more than 11% at the moment, and then you have the story of bio gel, which is up 44% ofsome positive comments prepared for an FDA advisory panel about it's Alzheimer's drug that was revived last year. So that's a company specific story. But you know drugmakers more broadly or also rally. You know the other side of the coin. You know what Vince talks aboutthe stimulus trade such as it is, you see it show up in the shares of the regional banks were really taking a hit in today's trading. You also see it show up in some of the infrastructure related stocks. Caterpillar Ah, no construction McCue material Cos Mark Mariana Materials, Vulcan materials. They're all taken hits all for what we're seeing, So it's not like people are for getting sort of that. That argument. A ce faras? What happens to the stimulus program? You know, you think about big tack mean they're really you know, that's communication services. That's in information technology as consumer discretionary with amazon dot com, right them altogether, these air cos they're able to grow with regardless of what happens, Economy whatever happens, the stimulus and people are gravitating to him today, as they have for a long time on one point infrastructure. We're gonna check in with the CEO over it. Bam! Build America Mutual because we certainly were watching. Some of the state elections when it came to voting on infrastructure money spending in that area. Hey, Vince, I mean gridlock. Investors tend to like it and it feels like that's what we're going to have. But it does worry me about the people who need stuff right now in our society as we continue to fight the virus and deal with a really weak economy. If there were no virus, I would say this is this is the perfect soup. You know that we have the gridlock in Washington markets like it see gradual growth, gradual changes to the stock market on a positive way and gradual increases earnings. But not only do we have the virus. We also have another election coming up after January, which No one is talking about you going to leave it on the block's shortly layer where the House is up for election after in the Congress now not great expectations that close he won't keep it. I mean, she's really she's fought off challenges in the past, and as as Trump's greatest adversary. I think she's won a lot of points and score a lot of points in our party. But if she is challenged by a progressive That could change the votes. Just a majority, not a super majority in the house. If, for whatever reason that seat the speaker would go progressive. I think the markets would take that very badly thinking that a big new Green deal with becoming the tax hikes. We'd be back into the conversation, etcetera, so just something to keep in your outlook calendar for down the road to be prepared for us. We get into the new year. I'm just telling you my outlook calendars. Mac's dad, I don't have any more room. All right, Vince Signorelli. Thank you. As always, we're going to check in with you Live it later on. He's our global macro strategist at Bloomberg News. Dave Wilson's gonna be back to you with his stock and chart of the day. We are doubling down on the election and the outcome of the next few hours a lot that we know we are expecting to hear from Vice President Joe Biden at some point later today, we're going to look into the road to how we got here and really the road to legal battles. We just mentioned one By the Trump team in terms of the election outcome, So we're going to get into that bloomer contributor Rick Davis, former Republican strategist, former manager of Senator John McCain's presidential campaign He's going to talk about the race is still yet to be called. We're also seeing as David mentioned several market trades and moves off the election. Some of them kind of all over the place. Cannabis stocks initially higher on then we saw the kind of pull off some of those gains. So we're going to check it with Chris Beals, the CEO of California based Weed maps. They work with consumers and companies within that industry. Ross gonna check in as I mentioned with the CEO of a band build America Mutual about infrastructure and the outlook there. All right, Let's get a check on world the national news. She's been.

This is like next level stuff and you know you do such a fantastic job doing this in barbecue so so stoked to be a part of it. Well I mean for for me doing this podcast starting with behind the smoke doing one hundred episodes with Derek Marceau. Who owns a butcher shop and I own a barbecue restaurant? It's really allowed us to look at marketing in a different way than just focusing on marketing Kelly Kelly Comfort Barbecue Italy or valley farm. And it's allowed us to get into a position where we're always learning Learning things that I'd never knew existed assisted trying to figure out new platforms figured out podcast distribution and for us. We are here to talk about aged aged specifically but also your background so for the listeners. That don't know who annual tenor team at group is give us a little bit of the big behemoth breath yes. Sports entertainment yet is a global entertainment company. I'm definitely not you know the official AG spokesperson just. You know I mean and that it is. It is a company that has many tentacles. You know They own various facilities including a Pechanga arena San the Eggo Put on different festivals. Different tours so fantastic company to work for Just because of all that reach and and They do everything from Coachella two own sports teams including the kings up in l. a. and then and then various different buildings staple centers one of their signature properties. Everybody knows staple center And and allows us also to kind of get together the other two different different marketers from different properties or You know kind of coming together and collaborating so it makes it definitely worthwhile. Yeah I I mean I think for me personally. One of the coolest things that's happening with marketing and with business small business big business genocides businesses that everyone has to start understanding what is happening with marketing. What's happening with digital what are how does our company present online? How does are constantly present in person told totem and that's less to this very interesting place What I'd I'd love to hear more about kind of your background because you're you definitely didn't go to school to get into sports entertainment properties real? I didn't yeah my background I mean was TV news. So I set out of of starting college wanting to TV reporter ended up being TV reporter which is college. So was there a moment that I think in high school is really where I went to Highschool here Uni of them now as cathedral relocated. My High. School is I think a luxury apartment complex nestled. Right Yeah Cross my memo. You went there studio so in high school. We had kind of a video production team team. I I really liked that aspects of things. I wasn't actually fantastic academically But really kind of gravitated towards all that creative stuff and really sought. TV News as kind of like accessible. It wasn't like film which I felt was like Steven Spielberg leg. How do you crack that young to be? Somebody's kid the that kind of thing. TV was even you know even on that same realm for me like how do you get on a TV lot. That kind of thing TV News you seem like there was like a TV station like five or six of them in every down now and seemed like a way to kind of get into into that realm liked telling stories obviously And liked being on camera. That worked out. And were you ever awkward on camera. Because I think that's a big fear. Fear that he had a business I mean a lot of people I mean even even the people that we had on behind the Smith Tower. Lipkin Heather Myers Jim Trotter. These people the Jim Trotter was a writer for the Union he studied journalists but now he's on TV for an NFL network. Yeah you know so. He never saw himself during talks about how when he was first on camera was a weird experience. I think we're experience and thankfully I think I did it a lot younger. You know what I mean because that was kind of doing this this at sort of an early age and I think everybody goes through all the Awkward Seth. Some people hate to tell you probably never going to grow out of it. You know what I mean people people probably you know maybe you know. Maybe it's not their thing you know what I mean. Some people see that they kind of they work around it you know they they find ways to you know to to find a presence you know some people kind of have it a little bit more. Naturally you know so I I think it was thankfully something. I was a muscle I was able to exercise early on. And then I'm thinking by the time I kind of graduated College you certainly had done a fair amount to where you know. I felt comfortable now. Still you know you're thinking about like your first TV job. My First TV reporter job was in Palm Springs Spring so fun it was like the coolest thing in the world. I mean it was like my college. I went to college here really kind of went to college journalism. I went to culture journalism here at UCSD. Yeah communication and First Time being live I mean this was is it was a plane crash Up in the hills of you know something one hundred twenty degrees there and I'm thinking thinking I like I need to have no notes like was what my brain is telling beal teacher told Ya no no nobody Chris you need to have no nuts. You know you need. Did you do this flawlessly from you know so I have my notes I think at the foot of my you know at my feet you know and and it's cameraman Yo. Yeah there's camera yourself. Produce wasn't self producing. Yeah you know there is like you know notes at my feet. They're flying everywhere. My brain is like everywhere to like equal as the paper is my brain. How many people are watching the all this stuff? I mean it was came to horrendous. Yeah it was. It was so bad. I remember calling my boss. You know. I'm like dude was alive. Yeah and I'm saying okay. I you know that this is not my best representation. You know I I will do better this kind of thing. He knows. I mean this. This guy was expecting it. Yeah you know what I mean in this guy knows you bring a guy the first time going live. He's not going to be incredible. You know what I mean like so I was putting more pressure. Did you have any self doubt Mike from the beginning that you probably you pick the wrong path Thankfully I I I really I try not to let that voice voice get too loud and I really you know whatever. It is just outlook or whatever I just I tried to not let that voice get too big. You know now and And I think that I knew that it was something that that you know that I would pursue and probably be good at you know and I think I was you know And then ended up going on to work in Sacramento and back down here in San Diego moving here with my wife and and It was. It's a fun run TV mortgage Megyn wife we met In in Sacramento Sacramento at the news. Yeah Yeah yes yeah. She was a producer And just hit it off immediately And she your producer. Yes yeah yeah. That's funny. My wife my producer. She's still my producing my life since got married. Yeah probably before that. Yeah that's fantastic. So you moved. Why'd you move? What'd you guys? Move Down to San Diego. I you know my hometown you know. I think we We were both looking for. You're a city where we could Both be happy in and hang out together you know and and be together and and She actually had the job. Bob and I basically said to her. You know UGO MALFA figured out ended up figuring it out Fox five brought me in and All the management management. They're like cannot say enough good things about them. Yeah and You know worked there. You know they they really set me up you know For Success US you know and and and so grateful that they gave me the job so I could feel comfortable. You know moving to San Diego could have done it like would have been scary. We were you know Obviously not married at the time. Didn't have kids at the time so I could have moved down here with no job. Just wouldn't have been comfortable. You know what I mean. It's always it's it's always good to have cash. You both got hired at Fox five She was working at another. Oh you got it. So how many different stations in San Diego enjoy for just that one yeah But in in all how many different stations so palm springs Sacramento the sort of in the three Soda Palm Springs Sacramento Sacramento and Fox any differences. In how those stations were run Yes you know some want the you kind of this mentality of like the kind of do your own kind of thing you know that's Like not a new phenomenon. Now now I used I used to call like a new phenomenon. It's like you know since the beginning of your own. What do you mean like shoot? Yep Edit a report you you know all those types of things I think tweet pose Lago. Yeah blog to my forgetting now growing and so you know 'cause reporters who were reporters orders in like the golden era. We'll tell you now like I don't think you're Manera. Yeah they get like that day is gone. You know because you know. Now it's it's it's even if even if you have Taga for which is which I feel as the way to go even if you have a photographer there is that aspect of the digital presence. Kahar you do you have fifteen thousand followers direct Can you help us promote. Do you have an audience On Your own. So it's It's it's a different thing. I remember like I getting on twitter. Yeah I'm like what is this thing you know what I mean. Why do I need to be on this thing and then I start seeing like okay? If I'm I'm on a live scene and there is a standoff happening in a neighborhood I'm like Oh my God I just gained like one hundred dollars right now you know And and you find that other people with huge followings or re tweeting you sharing all of your stuff okay you know..

"I read a blog post by this guy named Chris Lous and he is attacked up, teach up chat tech. The teacher. Yeah, and his first block post that he wrote, I was like, oh my goodness. I love what this guy's talking about as far as how gained cow Cowie's using game. If occasion, he was basically telling us his journey and it was fantastic. His journey in his literature classes of how he was using game -cation. So I started basically emulating borrowing a bunch of things that he was using. And then one of just by happenstance, I was coaching basketball that year and my assistant coach, Toby. You should take a course by this guy. Dr Haskell in I was I, I really had my master's degree in. I was like, who is that in? Why should I take of? And it's like a is like, no, this business spend is right up your alley. And so the course is called a teaching learning digital worlds or virtual worlds. And I took the course just by the recommendation of my friend, I didn't need it or anything. I just was like, let's see what happens. And that was my odd moments because Dr Haskell basically had us as graduate students. Participating in class in these different virtual worlds, including mine craft. And so one of my first projects you want to call him that. Was building a world that then exploded, you know, as far as people wanting to know more about it, which was kind of this commerce world that built. So it would immerse my students in the Spanish language while they were role playing as difference careers within the world of Minecraft. And so I was just kind of borrowing a little combination of what Dr Haskell taught us, and then also what Chris Beal was doing, which was documenting what was happening because I didn't find anything online or on YouTube that anybody else was doing. Sounds like I'm gonna create YouTube videos and I'm gonna write down everything that I do and however it goes, it goes at it just happened to be that it's it became the thing that I was like, okay, this is something that I can do, and it'll it's something I could share with people how to go about doing this. And it really is making a humongous difference as far as for my classes, engagements, but also just the. The ability for my students to go to stay in the Spanish language, which was a big push that I wanted to make sure happened. He is selling himself short a little bit that he used.
