"Job home so we bag after a word from our sponsors well i What i was a teacher for nine and a half years in middle school in high school and i. I quit before christmas last year. Oh wow to pursue some other other stuff and kenya you. When the pandemic i hit i was like god damn it. All the teachers are going home and then about a month later like when they had to go. I was like mad. Thank god. I got this. Because i work from home now and i and i you know i like my job but but like you were saying during that time period there. I couldn't get anybody to play with with me. I'm writing the song One of the great things about band practice is like hey dudes. I got this idea. I got this got his court progression. Can you play this melody. Light with this with drumbeat and you know yeah and let's see how it sounds like it's in my mind. I think it's pretty good. Yeah yeah but there's nobody to do that with right. So i'm like well you know what i'm gonna do and made a children's record that i've been working on for years and i finished that sort of at the beginning of the pandemic and so i i got good decent enough to like us to software okay to do it and so i'm like you know what i'm just gonna go up and spend this time making this demoing stuff at first. Okay demo this stuff and then what do you do. A demo becomes good enough where you're like. This is not a demo here and it is. His whole pandemic thing didn't like ending anytime soon. Right right and so. I'm like you know. I think i finished one of them. Were two or three. And i'm like well. I think this this could be working. And so i you know continually worked in work than work a before you know it. I got ten songs. And i'm like holy shit this record and then a record label wants to pick it up and i'm like what the fuck is going on. I didn't even need a band whole time or no. Maybe i'm like a prince always just recorded his own record spine self right. That's true and bring it to put a band together and be like play this play. This play play that but but like you were saying earlier that that's certainly not my style. Because i like the energy plan i can't go in and be like. Hey dude. can you play this right on. The i can go in and say know. Listen to this part. Can you let this inspire you like the camaraderie of a band. You don't wanna be a band director. Yeah exactly man. I mean you're the energy. I mean first of all. Nobody's getting paid a whole bunch of money right right so you know if you're like if you're getting paid a lot yeah then you'd be like okay. Play this exactly but if you're if you're just basically doing it because you love playing music band practice and has some got bossie around now now you can you want you want. Go off on your you want to do your thing and create with the person you know. I mean you gotta have vying. And that's good for everyone then if everybody contributes to the performance into the creation process. And you feel you feel it. The audience feels it. And so the way we've been performing these songs and we've done a few shows like livestreams and also we've played in the park but my house. Okay we ran like eight extension cords from a friend into the park. Yeah we kicked ass. It was like and so we're gonna do it again and hopefully we won't get busted because he did say they're gonna start finding people for doing shit like that. Oh jeez but i'm like you know what let's just give signed and taped the whole thing when the cops come and be like. Hey man do this to us musician to to make money and you can tell china get like some potato worker here. Yeah come on. Dad's were s. We'll release this. Do go fund me for the bail. Money yeah something like that. I mean but we're going to do on january second we're going to do yard sale block everybody on the block like in the park by my house do a yard sale and then ten gallon tin foil hat. Which is the ban that spec me up on this is is going to do a show another show so we do what we have to do. Man that's right does have to borrow a few extension. Make sure the cops don't take those when you get arrested no way. They're not getting that stuff. So when you're doing this stuff live all the all the music from the new album or no because ten gallon tin foil hat. So after mike left left the forties and the rough seven. Yeah i so i was. I've been booking shows at this bar called in my neighborhood. And we have this friday night ed and it's been doing that for all over two years when pandemic kit and we have lots of great bands. There of in fact new orleans has really great scene of country traditional music young young people. Yeah i don't know if you've heard Gnashed potato records those releases that they've done okay. The real analog tape machine. Like sam. Sam doors jackson in the jank's tuba skinny chris. Aker i don't if i got to check that out. I haven't heard of that their traditional jazz but they're young. So i mean there's there's a really great seeing and soak in looking at watching these young people. I'm like i love how they were. There really driven to honor the tradition right. And so they're gonna do. They do country music like man like how it should be done old school. You know like bucko and i saw you know and so i'm like watching these guys in a key inspired by by these young players you know like just sort of like the way that they're they don't deviate from it meeting like they they very consistent about they're gonna sound like this and it's going to be there you know. Yeah i like that. And so i put together this band ten gallon tinfoil hat with this idea that we're going to play country like a straight as we can but then we're also gonna freak to fuck out awesome so so the whole idea. The ten gallon hat right. Yeah meets the tin foil..

"Don't as many as people think they're all as many decision makers as people people think what tends to happen sent as you as you move away from the cool oh boy there's a lot of change in the industry as well so people come and go but yeah this. It's it's a small industry. It's a small global industry with a huge amount of influence reach and the law noise and you know it attracts a law all of businesses that are are all excited by the prospect of work in sports and also at attracts innovation because because you know people want to sports and also there is a there is a natural if you look outside if you look at the consumer position of spoil it's massive. It's my business. It's all so there is a lot of innovation around consumer edges falls and then there was said so of elements of the sports industry you know any pens on geography sports on the history and the popularity that's unspoiled which are either died on ankle very popular now or slow all the way in that in that period where you're building the business you're in that cycle of where World Cutler which isn't around much anymore which is the World Cup bidding money so that we began and before that but that was a sort of afterwards things twenty ten when we had all copays onstage yet excited among live on television different countries and the equal opportunity to put their case for with and that was great a prize not really all main focus was contents really wasn't like I think the industry would be on the served with content and and it was about radio on Sunday people wanting to wants to now and they finding the right people and some of it at the beginning was about the politics of football if you do the conference Sean Voids Yeah Big names on stage who of golf aw you know go well C. E. O.'s but they've got something to say and that's what we did and then gradually gradually we realized that she'd have a one sport conference is just not it can't sustain create the content which people want to hear you know if I was in football at one air. What's happening outside of a pool. Whether it's sports or entertainments or musical the movie industry whatever it is I want to be thinking like that and so that's where the school business summit came came in actually coincided with NFL NBA and American sports wanting to kind of expanding nationally. It's quite it's so is anyone that bubble where people are talking about stopping inside. The bubble is sometimes. It's very refreshing to have someone from outside coming in you know so it could be a brand person. It could be database of media person but they come with a completely different. Perspective is quite often your point having one sport conference you quite often hear all the arguments recycled and yet you know people are saying the same thing yes again in the game yeah how who the you looking back what really really good speakers what what what are the ones that really saw little room up you. We've had a number of years months always good he was he was very good interview with Christine Personal. I felt he wants an over that relate and don't don't forget we we do events in the US as well so everybody but some some outstanding figures in the US as you can imagine the Nacho all people who come to all speak are US based speak because with the the chief box office Lima on you slow so a singing on the intro who's is like song all you know we have Andrew Wilson from the price that pizza more who's a I- Brilliant Bernie and praised tactically slick presenter Rory Sutherland for on this on this because we're going to different I mean it's actually really good to get people off you. Either behavioral Psychologists Ages Consumerism and trends. I think that's always very interested in Spain and number of different speakers from different organizations you would view Mamie Maimi on in the establishments actually are really interesting in the way that they look at perspective of buying behavior. I think that's quite interesting asking yeah lots of speakers over the years yeah so as it grew that we you've sold this business. There was the initial the the Russian sell laws what we're just briefly talk to us. Attorney King of the faith of this book doc was twenty four. Co maybe not from the Elliot actually twelve and so Chris Akers wars wars representing communicable Converse sports initiatives who have bowled Portsmouth and he had bulls power play golf concept of Power Play Golf on boards world rally and were on the lookout by their investments. I don't blame the bushing caves behind it. Vladimir so more actually gone cold rolling ball who is just kind of made in the UK on basically go Chris like look. You know these guys the interest in this business. I realized business with let's make you an offer. I am alive sort of thought. Wow you know bill something here. That is attracted. Someone straight wasn't looking summits battle and then it was quite funny because it wasn't. I never been through this process before. I didn't really know what to expect and intend the June diligence. I basically the football league ratified and Commerce to purchase Portsmouth. We must be strikes. You you know such a good record this last night so I was like okay. Yeah I mean the actual. It's pretty naive really in terms of well. Actually if I turned utilities probably wouldn't have found anything. you know in terms of background crown checks. I mean I I wouldn't know what starts on the kind of wins own sort of face value Chris's as their main guy on leagues buying the own ownership group on yet does not burn. It was like yeah okay how many days after starting Litas data's was. I WANNA say this probably a five years we find that's exciting five years yeah on the opennow. You know we were growing via after five years you start to think about your your your impossibly employing report important sixteen fifteen sixteen people and he saw points inflection points in the business where you think well which go now you can that star risking go big. I'm actually I feel it will show up could Moshe. These guys will get into yeah. They promised you know they will do it. In Bush got connections all over the world you know this is going to be fantastic will tap into cons of people budgets networks and stuff and actually it was it was it was I meyer relationship with them was finding that we they were here they they would just unusual visit perspective from cultures and stuff you know and and they will find left us alone all this money on then we go cold in probably nine months after then buying leaders and they only bought they bought sixty five percent so I've been saying this of twenty five live since steak Silao here who had a stake as well on the shareholder swell on stakes in it and ultimately that sixty five percents and meeting and it's funny kind of knew that the the business was probably GonNa blow of the so point because that their offices were inherent tower on one of the salt for laws on those there was Formula One car in their reception the back of buying Portsmouth it is surely not here so he calls in his tent up and said look you know this goes administration astray Shin. You'll be in full now. I mean obviously real experience and a very challenging experience for for the leaders me pass Silao how because we that was probably in early tried to Christmas and it took about eight months to solve and how in terms of the personal did were you is. This is the moment you thinking well. This is everything now. GonNa lose. Every reason why China's we were making money on so we cycle went up business and we sort of build so to act so we let's say we'll begin the when this happened and the.
