130 - Three Approaches for Doubt and Mistrust
"Hello and welcome to another episode of the secular Buddhism podcast. This is episode number one hundred and thirty. I am your host Noah Rochetta and today. I'm going to talk about using doubt and mistrust and how essential these things are on the Buddhist path as always keep in mind. You don't need to use what you learn from Buddhism to Buddhist. You can use what you learn to be a better whatever you already are quick announcement. I'm excited to announce that I will now have to additional perks for podcasts supporters on the Patriot community. Who are looking for more. Live interactions on a weekly basis as the community continues to grow. I want to offer value to podcast supporters. Beyond what you get from just listening to the podcast so I have two options that I'm going to start doing every week. Now the first one is using a platform called crowd cast. I want to offer live. Qna and Ama which is asked me anything sessions. When I first started learning about Buddhism I really wished I had access to a teacher or a mentor. Or someone who could help me navigate my way through all of the concepts the teachings and the practices. I had a lot of questions but I had to go searching for everything on my own and I know that finding a Buddhist center or a teacher is simply not an option for for everyone based on where you live or how much time you have and I wanted to make myself available every Sunday for a live. Qna session where listeners and supporters you can pick my brain about anything related to Buddhism or related to the topics and the podcast. Really anything at all. So who is this four? This is for anyone who is wanting to learn more about Buddhism Buddhist teachings concepts practices and who wants to work with a teacher to learn more. So this is something. I'm going to be doing Every Sunday from now on and then the second thing is similar but this is using zoom as you know zoom kind of the big rage right now. Zoom allows us to have live group discussions and interactions so the second component to this is the sense of community community is an important part of the Buddhist path and having someone to talk to is extremely valuable patriae on allows us to communicate with each other. But it's somewhat limited and nothing compares to Real Life Interactions. So I thought the next best step is to meet virtually online. So as of This week I'm going to start using zoom to allow podcasts supporters to be able to have a greater sense of community where we can get to know each other and have discussions around the podcast episodes and Be able to break out into smaller groups and have live discussions around the topics that we're learning in the podcast and discussed the co on or anything else that needs to be discussed in a one on one life setting with other podcast listeners and there will be the opportunity to practice meditation awareness practice and more and these meetings are going to follow a structure to maintain an orderly discussion. So who is this for? This is also. This is for anyone who wants to meet and discuss Buddhist concepts ideas and topics with real life people in a live setting and that's also going to be set up every week. So if you WANNA learn more you can have access to either one of these or both of them simply by become in a podcast supporter on patron at the lowest tier. Which is essentially the cost of a cheap cup of coffee. Every month is three dollars a month to have the community access in. That would give you both of those options for the live settings. So that sounds interesting to you. You can learn more about that by visiting secular Buddhism Dot Com and clicking the link on the top of the page that says Patriots on. So that's all I have about that in terms of the announcement and now this jump right into the discussion around the Zenko on that was shared in the last podcast episode. So this Cohen says one day. Chaozhou fell in the snow and called out. Help me help me help me up. Held ME UP. A monk came and lay down beside him. Chow Chu got up and went away. And that's it. That's the Cohen. And I WANNA share first of all some of the thoughts that come from the Patriot community. Because as you know I've mentioned we we have discussions around the podcast in around the Cohen. And I WANNA share some of these thoughts so ellen says quote this is what the Co on makes me think of when experiencing difficulty emotions like grief or depression and your loved ones. Want to help. But there's no way to pull you out of those feelings or make them go away so often. The best way to help is just to be with you. While you're feeling them the feelings can run their course with someone you love by your side until you have the strength to get up on your own close quote and I agree with Allen's assessment here I think oftentimes we try to help someone and our way of helping isn't helpful and other times. You know all we really need to do is be with someone and just by being with them like in this case the monk lays down beside him and that's all it that's all he needed. Chaozhou got up and went away is what it says. Okay Matt says quote I think it is an example of reactivity chow falls and his initial reaction is to panic. He fears that he cannot free himself from the situation. The monk comes in lies beside him to show him that. The situation is not a crisis he too is lying in the snow and did so voluntarily in doing so one can see that there is no emergency lows quote. This is an interesting take on it. I hadn't thought about it from that perspective but I think again with these. Cohen's you know this is a an invitation for you to extract meaning or whatever you're going to get out of it for you and it's Kinda cool. That Matt stalled this. This is kind of a different angle to it that I think is accurate. And a lot of instances in life where we are in a situation and we're thinking how Megan to do this but it's helpful to know that somebody else has been in this situation and they were able to find a way to to cope with it or deal with it then I can too and I know I felt that before and honestly I think a lot of us are feeling this. Now with everything that we're going through with the lockdowns in the With with the covert nineteen. I was telling my wife this the other day how much more difficult it would be to face these uncertainties in terms of jobs and the potential financial repercussions. If if I knew this was just happening to me but somehow by knowing that the whole world is trying to figure out what to do about work in about Income and things like that somehow makes it so much less stressful. Because I know it's not just me. We're all trying to figure it out and that's kind of what Matt is talking about here so I I like that thought. I think there's something there to it. Suzanne says quote this Cohen. Really resonated with me and I was reminded of the key. Idea of Montessori. Education helped me to do it on my on. Chaozhou asks for someone to help him help them up. Which would be quite a passive way of reacting to the present situation like a child asking their parents to do something for them. Instead the monk lies down and shows Chow Chu the passivity of his response. Once having realized this Chaozhou is able to act for himself it up under his own steam and walk away and then she says it it also reminds me of the raft analogy the monk and his compassion are the raft which enables Chow Chu to get up and leave behind the monk. Which is the wrapped? Close quote. It's always fascinating to hear other people's perspectives on these stories. Because we're all in different places in life we've had different experiences in life and we see things from a unique vantage point. And that's what I thought of when I was reading Suzanne's take on this. Like what a cool way to see that again from a perspective that hadn't crossed my mind and the correlations that she's drawing that hadn't crossed my mind and I liked them They make a lot of sense to me and then I wanNA finish with one more with Nancy's thoughts so nancy says quote. This Cohen makes me think about when I have a problem or situation that is troubling me and I turned to a friend or a loved one for help. The best help I have received is when that person simply sits with me and listens close quote and that's getting back to kind of the way Ellen talked about it and what I kind of took from it. Which is that sometimes. The best help is the help. That's just being with someone and not actually trying to help that certainly a lesson. I took away from it and I think sometimes we see this in our own lives that the best way to help someone to just sit and be with them and to not try to help in fact. Oftentimes the trying to help makes the problem worse. I know I've experienced that Both as the receiving on the receiving end of that but also on the other end where. I'm the one who's trying to help and I'm catching myself that my health is not helping him. I don't know if you've experienced that would assume some of you have. You can kind of correlate this also with the concept of teaching people to fish instead of giving fish I've correlated this a little bit with the thought of with my kids like teaching them how to think rather than what to think so. Yeah my mind has gone to a lot of different places with this co on. But at the end of the day I like visualizing Chow Chu Falling in the snow. And calling help me up helped me up. And then among laying there next to him and Chacha just gets up and walks away These little stories can always be unpacked to gain a lot of perspectives and thoughts and teachings and again. There's never a right answer. The point wasn't the answer. The point was what did it make you think of in the process of thinking maybe learned something about yourself. I think that's what's cool about these. Cohen's moving over to the topic that I wanted to discuss in today's podcast episode the concept of the three stages of doubt. So I let me set you up with what prompted this like me. Many of you are probably seeing all kinds of crazy stuff on facebook. These days right stories about this and conspiracies about that and there's a part of us that cycle which views are right. How could we possibly know? How can I take what I'm experiencing right now into my own personal practice and the amount of healthy skepticism and doubt that has gone into my analysis of the various news sources in crazy stories and videos that I've watched is what inspired this topic? I thought you know in Buddhism the concept of mistrust. The concept of doubt is very important. You know there's the expression in Zen Buddhism this has big doubt big enlightenment. Small Doubt Small Enlightenment. No doubt no enlightenment and I really liked that because without questioning our views. We can't possibly see new things. We cannot experience a new way of seen things and when I used to go around and teach the workshops the introduction to Buddhism and the introductions of mindfulness workshops there is analogy that I used often about the tinted glasses. And how we're going through life wearing these tinted glasses and if you've ever worn glasses that have a tent like red or green or blue. It affects everything that you look at. Everything is tinted by the color of the glasses that you're wearing and if I were to be born with those glasses I've never taken them off and I've only ever seen life through the the tint of the lenses that I'm looking through I wouldn't know to even mistrust that what I've seen is tinted. I would think what I'm seeing is reality. This is how things are. Everything's slightly green and I may never know that there's a tent there if I'm not willing to at least entertain. I the idea that maybe the way I see is not correct. So that's where this concept of of mistrust and doubt comes in. I think one way to almost invoke. This sense of mistrust is to just consider the views of whatever you're opposing political views are right if you're a. Democrat look at the news. That's coming from the Republicans if you're a Republican look at the news. That's coming from Democrats and you're going to have almost a natural sense of mistrust arises just naturally right if it's and you don't have to be American with Republicans and Democrats happening all over the world whatever. Your views are looking at the opposing parties views and notice. What arises in you. What you should be experiencing most likely as an instant sense of mistrust if so and so said it. I don't know about that if my team said. Okay I trust that. I'm not even GONNA question it and this is this is where we have the opportunity to take some of that same mistrust in that same skepticism. That is so easily flung to the other side and apply it to your own views. That's essentially what we're practicing Buddhism. I just want to emphasize here. This isn't meant to leave us. Crippled with indecisiveness isn't meant to paralyze us with fear. And say all now. I don't know what's true. This is meant to liberate us from the attachment to our views. We talked about this often. Buddhism right that the the good concepts or bad concepts good ideas or bad is good beliefs or bad beliefs. They're like chains that bind us. And that's not necessarily a problem. We're all bound by our ideas. What it means though is when I'm attached to a view I'm not completely open to the possibilities of changing that view and if I can learn to develop what we call the beginner's mind Buddhism it's like the mind of a child it's always curious it's always learning and it's always adapting to whatever's being thrown at it that is the mind that whereafter in our practice and if you think about it we are always doubting right. What is it that we're doubting? Will we doubt whatever contradicts what we already think? We know we do it. Everybody does it. That's why it's so easy to question what somebody is saying if I don't agree with them and and that's also why it's so easy to to overlook what might be poor quality news if it's coming from my team because there's this already this assumption with as my team saying that. I don't even need a question. It it's good and one Buddhist way of doubting is to be a no word that is mistrusting of both directions. So I wanNA talk about this a little bit too neat concept that the three stages of doubt this I heard this idea in the book called Mind in Tibetan Buddhism and the author's name is Lottie Rainbow and I'm GONNA post a link to this in the show notes. Were you can if you want to look up that book? It's on Amazon. But there he talks about this concept of the three stages of doubt and the idea is that you can take a statement of fact like as an example. The Universe is infinite. That's the statement and then you have the three stages stage one or three levels. I'm not sure if stages is the right word but you've got these three ways to approach doubt one is where you tend towards the fact. The other is where you tend towards the distortion and then the third one is where you tend equally towards both so. Here's the example if we were to say the universe is infinite. If I'M GONNA lean towards that fact I might be thinking you know. The Universe is probably infinite right. I'm leaning towards the fact if I'm leaning towards the distortion which is essentially. I'm leaning towards the other side of the argument I might be thinking the universes probably not infinite and then there's this middle ground right. 'cause WE'RE TALKING. Buddhism there's always the middle ground where you tend towards both equally. Were here you might not be able to make up your mind and you're just going to be left with wondering whether the universe is infinite or finite is finite or infinite and that's the third stage. Now why is this helpful? Hockett this how could this be practical in day to day life? Well in Buddhism like I mentioned before doubt is beneficial because it is the first step in weakening the possibility of having a wrong view now that to me is fascinating. I want to repeat that. Because doubt in Buddhism is beneficial because it is the first step in weakening wrong view. And as you know in the full path right view or skillful view is the view that we're after the. How do we know which view is skillful in? Which one is not skillful? We we don't so we have to operate under the assumption that what we think may not be true it may not be the most skilful way of you in something will. How could we possibly know if we have the wrong view if we're willing to doubt our view so that's the first thing that I want to mention here? In Buddhism you're encouraged to carry a healthy amount of skepticism and doubt towards your own views. And this is where the story of the monk emptying the teacup right like if by emptying the tea cup you can fill it up with whatever new knowledge. Whatever new view you're going to have but you cannot physically do that. You cannot fill a teacup. That's already full. It cannot be done and it's the same with our views. We cannot have a new view. If we're not I willing to accept that we might have an incorrect view or at least question the view that we have so in that sense we must have an open mind willing to accept that we may have an incorrect view in order to start the process of arriving at the correct view. Whatever the correct you may be so if I were to tell. Hey you're seeing things through tinted glasses and that's affecting what you see the green tent that you happen to theon. Everything is an accurate depiction of the world it's caused by the Green Tint of your glasses will at that point. You're left with the option of believing me insane. Maybe maybe the way I view things is off or you could think I'm absolutely not some crazy and that's it you don't want to hear anything else from me. You could be angry at me because you're upset that I'm assuming that you don't see things correctly and that's just one example right but that's what we do. We all go around thinking that the way that we view things now. That is the right way but the way you view things now. That's not the right way and we think that if I can shame you enough about your view than maybe you'll adopt my view and that absolutely does not work. Anyone who's been on facebook knows that's just not how it works so rather than focusing all of our energy on trying to correct everyone else's way of viewing things what we're doing in this practice is we're just trying to understand. How how do I see things? And the example I gave. That's how oversimplified example because first of all it's not very easy to identify any tent in your way of viewing that you have. I mean it's hard enough to identify the tent that I may have in in my own views. So much less am I gonNA be able to confidently point out. What kind of Tint your Distorting in the way that you view I don't know I'm just trying to figure out my own life here so I think it starts with the recognition of the mere possibility that my view might be wrong. That's where I start. I WANNA make a big change in the world. I've gotTA start with at least recognizing the maybe the way that I'm doing. It is not the most skilful way and again. There's a strong emphasis in Buddhism to avoid believing in Buddhist teachings instead we're encouraged to evaluate them to understand these teachings and ultimately the test them against our own experience. So how do we avoid getting stuck in doubt and getting paralyzed with fear? I think to me. Uncertainty is the important thing here because when we are no longer attached to the need to be right or to have a sense of certainty in our view then we can move more comfortably each view that we hold and to me. This is the space of such nece. What we call such nece and Buddhism at this is the beginner's mind. This is the unknowing mind. There are a lot of ways that this is talked about in some Buddhist literature. Even Equates Enlightenment itself with this idea of such nece which to me is the tending towards both equally. Were I may not be able to make up my mind whether this is this or that that now you have to pause for a minute and just recognize that. This is probably running. Contrary to almost anything you've ever been taught in terms of our Western way of thinking in our society. We do not like to not know things. In fact we're so uncomfortable with the uncertainty of something that we would rather believe that even if we're wrong but have the certainty that no. It's this because the answer I don't know is not acceptable in our society. We do not like to not no. I think it'll be really helpful. If we think about this in terms of skillful versus unskillful and there are some things that we will simply never know because they're just unknowable. And I'm not referring to the big existential questions like is the universe. Finite or infinite. I'm referring to smaller things like the concern. I have well my kids turn out to be the way that I hope that they will or will my spouse always love me or will. I remain satisfied in the current job by men. You know those. Those are equally troubling questions that we want to feel a sense of certainty. Were not okay with the answer. I don't know we want to know so we'll We'll stick with either. Yes or no. But at least it's certain and with such nece we both perceptions to coexist one possibility on one end of the spectrum and the other possibility on the other end of the spectrum and we find comfort in the uncertainty. Now that is a really fascinating thing to be able to do like the. But there's a lot of skillfulness in here and I wanNA give an example of this In terms of skillful and an unskillful because again. I'm not saying we need to be indecisive or wishy-washy about our views. I think we can absolutely hold onto a view wild practicing non attachment. I'll give you an example of what I'm talking about here. Let's just say The example of a of a spouse. If I have a spouse and someone were to tell me hey I think you're I think if I were to think my spouses cheating on me and I believe that they are but but really they're not think of how unskillful that belief is in my relationship now? The only thing that gives it credibility is the importance that I have in my need to be right and unfortunately in this case I believe that mice the that they are. What is that GonNa do to my relationship if knowing you know in real life? They're not but I think that they are. That would be very unskillful for me to continue to operate under the assumption that they are simply because I believe it. Now let's flip the the other side of this. Let's say your spouse really is in reality. They are but you believe that they're not. It's the same dilemma here. How unskillful is it to continue operating under that set of circumstances where the only thing making me continue to behave? The way that I am is I cannot let go of my belief and my belief says that they're not and there may be all these clear red flags essay Yeah they probably are but I can't see them because I'm blinded by my belief so you can see the dilemma here right I. It's not about whether they are or they aren't it's about am. I willing to entertain the opposite of what I believe. Am I willing to at least take my belief in say? Maybe I'm wrong. And then at that moment I'm a little bit more free to look at other Potential evidence or red flags that would be contrary to the belief that already formulated. So that's one example. Another one that I think of often is in terms of Religion Right. I've I've talked about this with my wife where I've said you know the problem with our beliefs. Is that once? We formulate a belief you can be presented with evidence that runs contrary to it and you will not see it. You cannot see it and the example that I've I've talked about if I was a a devout Christian and I believed that Jesus is is coming right the second coming. What would I do if he appeared with one of my competitors? That's not the right word. Not Competitors but let's just say. I am a devout Catholic and Jesus shows up with the head of the Jehovah's Witnesses. No would I just instantly be like? Oh Yeah I guess they were right or would I be like Nah? There's a conspiracy here. That's not the real Jesus other just trying to trick us. I think that's what most of us would do right and put yourself in this position. Whatever your view is what if the thing you're expecting didn't happen that way. Would you find reasons to you? Know to to explore at that point okay. We'll let me look into this or are you going to be like no way no way. That's not what's really happening. I think most of us would do exactly that we would say nope. That's not what's happening. This is a conspiracy if You know what would the average Christian think if they look up into the heavens and it's not Jesus is coming it's Krishna. Do you really think that most Christians would just be like. Oh Okay Yep I guess it was the Hindus. They were the right ones. Let's all switch. No way they'd say that's the devil the devils impersonating and trying to fool us and Blah Blah Blah right or if it was Jesus what are the Hindus GonNa think that. And that's just the fun mental experiment because that's Or what is the Atheist GonNa Think? There's Jesus in the sky. Do you think the atheists back. Oh I was wrong. Okay back to Christianity or are they most likely to back okay. Who's pulling the strings? Here this is a elaborate prank. Because they've already decided there is no Jesus and that's what I'm trying to get that with this Again I use that as an example because I think a lot of us can kind of understand how strong Beliefs. How how strong beliefs are very difficult to look past? And that's why I brought up that as the example you could be a believer and there's nothing that could be presented to you. That's going to make you not believe and vice versa. You could be a non believer. What what are you going to present to the non believer? That's GonNa make them back. Okay now I believe and granted. I'm recognizing that people shift from one view to another believers become non believers and non-believers become believers and believers become believers of other beliefs. That happens all the time but I don't think it happens willfully like hey I just don't WanNa believe this anymore and I know that because I've gone through that myself. I've transitioned from one belief system to non belief and it was not intentional like hey I'm just not going to believe one day. It doesn't work that way. It was a series of events that makes you think a certain way that makes you question the way that you think before you know. You're like I don't know what I think I stopped believing and I think it's odd to me when people will question that and think now you know you just chose to not believe and I'm like I couldn't do that in the same way that you know you go up to Christian and say okay. We'll if it really is that simple in its just about choosing. Go ahead and become Muslim now why don't you go ahead? And just switch everything over and believe in Allah. They can't I mean they can't. You can fake it but you can't. It's not natural right and yet Christians convert to Islam is Members of Islam will convert to Christianity. It can happen but it's not happening because someone just decided I want this to happen. It happens because you go look in. So this is this is where that concept of doubt comes in if you're not willing to doubt your own views or if you can't doubt your own views than you can't see anything other than what you're seeing and this is where. I think this is the wonderful thing about doubt. Is that it it can propel us in the direction of a more skillful view and I don't think we have to think of this in terms of of true false right wrong. You know I think a again. I always emphasizes. I liked the idea of skillful versus unskillful and when it comes to big things like beliefs. I like what French writer Andre Once wrote. He said believed those who are seeking truth. Doubt those who find it and I really liked that. I KINDA WANNA wrap up my thoughts on this topic with that quote in mind and I. I want to invite. Invite you to stay open. Stay curious to stay non attached to the certainty that your views are right and I'm not talking religious views. I'm talking all your views. Your political views whether or not this corona virus thing is a hoax whether or not I'm talking about any view. Any single view that you have. Maybe just. Maybe things aren't what we think they are. Just maybe the view that you have isn't the most accurate or the most skillful and maybe with these three stages of doubt you can start tending towards both extremes both ends equally to where you cannot make up your mind and you wonder whether or not it is or it. Isn't I think that's a very skillful view to hold and again I I? I'm not saying this because they want everyone to be out there thinking. Well I don't have any opinion about that. I'm not saying that I have strong opinions about things. I have strong political views on a certain things this way or that way but I'm not attached to it meaning. I understand why I hold this view because I can't help having been raised where I was raised having adopted. The societal. The is that I have and all these things that make me have an opinion but that does not mean my opinion is right so I'm always willing to entertain and to explore the view from the other side. I don't care what belief it is that I have. I'm willing to entertain the view of the other side and often I will and I'll be like after hearing the argument. Yup nope I'm still leaning on this side but even then it's not with a death grip that's like well. I mean keep presenting keep on presenting information. Maybe at some point something will click. Okay yeah that does make sense. But until then this is what makes sense. And that's how I view All of my beliefs all of my views. I hold them very lightly. And that's something. I love about Buddhism. I feel like it gives me the permission to hold my views lightly even and especially my views That I get through Buddhism because I'm not asked to believe any of this stuff. These are concepts that I get to work with and test and see how I feel about them and see if they work for me and they do. That's why I'm teaching and sharing all these concepts and ideas because it has been a very liberating way of engaging with reality a reality that cannot completely understand and that I cannot completely discern if one thing is correct or not but I get I get to try to understand it a little bit more and more every day. That's what I love about. Science rated take the process of continually uncovering learning new things. But it never has to be set in stone. All right so I kinda got a little off topic there. But that's what I wanted to share with you. This concept of the three stages of doubt and how beneficial it might be if we were all willing to at least empty or cup a little bit and especially if our if our intent is to fill our cup with more knowledge will then you gotTa dump out. What's in there right? You're not you're not gonNA ever have any change of use if you're not even willing to entertain the possibility of maybe. My view isn't the most accurate or isn't the most correct all right. That's all I have for this podcast episode as always. Thank you for listening if you want to support the work. I'm doing the podcast considered becoming a patron and joining our online community. Where we discussed the cohens and these podcast episodes and as I mentioned before the Live Interactions. We may at one point. Try and do something where we integrate it with. A membership here at the majority report was still working on. I'm thinking about how we would do that but dig me and I spent about thirty five minutes talking about the Joe Biden thing particularly in the Tara Reid Acusations against him It was before what happened this morning and so it actually But I think just as relevant because we sat basically a standard So we will talk about it but there's other things to discuss as well And so I would encourage you to go and listen to that show if you want to hear more of that conversation but we will. We will sum it up when she gets here Of course this is. We're now in this sort of a nebulous zone in in New York anyways. Cuomo has confirmed what I think everybody knew and certainly build. Blasi at announced a couple of weeks ago that the kids would not be returning to school this year. And they're we're in a very very strange time. We'll we'll we'll talk more With with digby about that but Let's play this clip. Joe Biden on Morning Joe with Mika Brzezinski and here is coming out and What I think is very important particularly for him to do at this point and You know there's a couple of different takes on this in terms of The sort of the ethical moral questions and the sheer political questions but Here's Joe Biden. On Morning Joe Addressing the question of these allegations she says in one thousand nine hundred three Mr Vice President that you pender against the wall and reached under her clothing and penetrated her with your fingers. Would you please go on the record with the American people? Did you sexually assault Tara Reid? No it is not true. I'm saying unequivocally it never never happened. Didn't never happen. Do you remember her. Do you remember any any types of complaints that she might have made. I don't remember any type of plant. She may have made. It was twenty seven years ago and I don't remember nor does anyone else that I'm aware of and the fact is that I don't remember I don't remember any complaint ever having been made have you or your campaign. Have you reached out to her? No I had not reached out terrorists twenty seven years ago. This never happened and when she first made the claim we made it clear that it never happened. And that's simple. Was that in the past thirty minutes or so you released a statement on medium and among other things you write this. There's only one place a complaint of this kind. Could be the national archives. I am requesting that. The Secretary of State asked the Senate ask the archives to identify any record of the complaint. She alleges she filed if there was any such complaint. The record will be there. Are you preparing us for a complaint that might be revealed in some way? Are you confident there is nothing? I'm confident there's nothing known ever brought into the attention of me. Twenty seven years ago this any assertion at all no one that I'm aware of in my campaign she'd my my Senate office at the time is aware of any such request and Or any such complaint and and so i. I'm not worried about it at all if there is a complaint that's where it would be that you'd be filed and they're put it out but I've never seen it. No one has that I'm aware of so there. It is Emeka goes on to suggest. Well what about And we will. We'll we'll talk about this later. But she goes on to ask like. And what about the University of Delaware Record Caesar's different set of records that That are his offices personal personal but his offices Records and the complaint that would have been filed would have been filed with the Senate the Senate office so the archives is where it would be and You know we can talk more about this. With with Digby My understanding is in the context of of the interview with With Katie Helper. That she did say that. She filled out a complaint for with what sounded like him. Couldn't remember the specifics. I don't know who who would With a a I guess what would be like a Senate or some type of congressional. Hr Office And so if they exist the complaint exist it would exist there. It's unclear whether she would have what you would have. You know Spouse specific she would have been about the complaint but at least we will get a sense of this We will talk more about this with dignity but from as a political matter you know. This is exactly what he he needed to do. I don't know if it will. It will serve. Calm the waters for him or not but This is what what needed to happen. His statement I thought was I if I was to. If I was tasked with writing a statement I would have written something very similar like this. They're not attacking Tara Reid they are They are accepting the fact that she she has the right to to make these assertions and they're categorically denying in many respects. This is up to the American people at this point as to how they're going to react to this. We'll see the meantime. Someone who Just because we have now well I guess we've always been a socially distant from our next guest however we have always been in close proximity to this little diddy I never realized that it said just rub it on. Ya so good for Ya. I love that either. I like that. Yeah that's really excellent on for quarantine I think. Yes it really. Everyone should listen to that at least once a day and we had a good graphic that went with that as As as well actually today I don't know if that bet went out to folks so heather I was telling people before you came on that you and I for the for ring of fire which is available as a podcast. I think it's already out. discussed at great length probably longer than we had much longer than we would ever want to but certainly longer than we anticipated. The the the Tara Reid Joe Biden situation and I there. There's obviously some new developments this morning. in terms of Biden putting out a statement and going on The the morning Joe Show so let's let's just you know recap what we talked about yesterday briefly and how this implicates it and we should say up front like I know that There would be just about anybody else in the race may be short of a couple of other people that you would want as opposed to Joe Biden I think you know that about me and I also just just set the framework of this conversation. I think There is. It's very hard for me to see how there can be any type of like really major public pressure brought to bear against Joe Biden. That wouldn't make a significant number of people who voted for Joe Biden. I would argue. Maybe the vast majority of them feel like they have been. You know sort of disenfranchised in some way I think the only way there's only two ways out of this. It seems to me one is Joe. Biden gets passed it or Joe Biden. Steps down But just recap what we we had said yesterday and And then we can talk about sort of the the the next Sort of I guess installment of this Well you know as as you said I mean. It was a very in depth conversation. If you're interested in our views on this I would hope that everybody would tune into that podcast. 'cause we went really deep and I think hit a lot of nuance of this story and political implications which I think we're all concerned with regardless of where we stand on that particular issue the political implications. Are you know best and extremely important? We're in the middle of global catastrophe. We have an absolute you know ignoramus at the Hound Now he's starting to generate some kind of a war with China. I mean this is. This is crazy time. And the fact that we're all on lockdown and it's very unlikely that there's going to be a real convention in the summer makes the idea of replacing the candidate in less as you point out. He steps down That the the the idea of trying to do that in any way that would bring confidence to the American people that the Democrats are actually better at You know perhaps leading us out of this. This catastrophe I think that brings into question. So we've got a real problem on our hands and I think we acknowledge that and went went through it. And I'll just address if you want you know. Hear more about that. Listen to the to the majority report to the Reagan fire but I will say that it's because this morning it's a little a little early for me so I only caught some of it And then read the statement of course and you and I had both talked about the the way that that people That any politician who gets into this kind of a you know a situation in in a campaign the way that they can deal with it Appropriately and we talked about how you know Barack Obama dealt with reverend right thing and all that and we talked about the history and people like Gary Hart Etcetera Etcetera and I think that in our feeling was very important for Biden to come out and say something. We didn't know when we when we did it and it was just hours before it was announced. He was going to That that he had to come out and he had to say things and he had to do it in a certain way in order to be respectful of his accuser. A respectful of women generally respectful of the issue. The larger issue here that we're all kind of still grappling with and I don't think we ever said that. He could just put it behind him. That's never gonNA happen. I think we all know that this issue will be out there but the question is whether or not it. You will be something that you know the the right will certainly try to weaponize but weather over something. That's so salient. Barring any new information of course That it actually forces him to resign which I think you and I both agree is the only way that this could happen. And even then fan the the process for trying to replace him. We'll be ugly messy right really really difficult so so I think my opinion is just to you know put it into this is that. I think he did fine with that. Process has begun of of dealing with this thing. That's been hanging out there for a long time. I think he waited too long but he did. It and his statement was was was good. I thought you know. He gave due respect to the issue itself and he did not in any way demean her which is a very important thing and You know he denied it unequivocally There's still a lot of stuff hanging out about you. Know his records and all that and we we. That's not the end of it. We're going to be hearing about that for a long time. And I'm sort of agnostic on the wisdom of the political wisdom of opening up those records. But you know that will be dealt with in due course. The the main issue of how? Joe Biden responded. I think the first step that he took today worked out pretty well. He I think he was You know confident and Compassionate and was caught the most important part cognizant of the seriousness of the issue. I think that came through so that's where I am today. Who knows what will happen tomorrow. Right. I mean these are the kind of stories that just they unfold and they just keep you know there's always things coming and don't I just want to warn everybody anybody who thinks that the fact that Donald Trump has NDA's on you know behind on how many hundreds of women how many people he's paid off. How many women have accused him? Credibly how much we have him on tape saying things like grabbing by the pussy no matter how much of that stuff is out there. He is one hundred percent shameless and he will use this just without a doubt you. Just don't even don't even think for a second that somehow that's neutralized because of Donald Trump. I mean we'll be screaming at you. Know how dare he went about trump? But it won't make any difference so just get ready it was the rallies resume or whatever he has to do. This will become part of the story. It is part of the story and You know on a political level. I think everybody just has to accept that. And the other thing we can hope is that you know it doesn't Sort of metastasized into something so damaging that you know it hurts Joe Biden but he refuses to step down. That's the worst possible scenario as we go down the road but for the moments I think we're sort of you know we are. We are and yeah. I didn't think it was too bad. I'll I guess I'll just send him right. I mean I you know my feeling is in. I think the way that we talked about this there was is two basic Buckets of which you have to address is like you know the the the veracity of the allegations and the political analysis and from veracity of the allegations thing. We're never going to know the truth. That's just we can't know the truth I personally I think that there's I can understand Reason for skepticism because of the sort of the the nature of of of how The the accusation had sort of rolled out over time a little bit but I also I'm of the mind that you know. It's very hard to judge someone who has been through something like that and And to assess you know and by judge I mean like you know assess like I don't know how I would react in that scenario. I HAVE NO IDEA. I'm so far away removed from it and certainly you know There's research that shows that you know people's Stories of all of their. You know one doesn't know and so I don't think what happened was so out of character of Joe Biden nor the time frankly so it's not impossible for me to believe but you know generally and maybe there would be value in having some type of outside investigation but he sort of on some level. It's happening right. I mean there are many many reporters who are looking into this certainly. They're gonNA now that. He's a given permission to the National Archives to release any information regarding any complaints that may have been levied by her at that time. You know we have in some sorts and investigation and I think that is wholly appropriate You know the personal documents that he has from the office. I don't think irrelevant it. Certainly the complaint certainly wouldn't be there and The last thing I want is another sort of like. He had a server in his basement at one point or a type of situation And so I think that's wise in terms of the political analysis and in terms of the political analysis. I think you know you are. I like we said yesterday. He's like he's got to come out and he's got an address this and he's GonNa stop looking to other people to deflect he's GonNa come and address this head on To the extent that he has the ability to do so Which I frankly perceive as you know. Relatively limited in terms of justice skill sets right now. I think he did fairly well. It's a little bit graded on a curve. And Yeah I'm with you that the the I don't you know this is not going to go away and the question is he have convinced enough. Democratic voters that the people who want to continue to push this and are interested in pushing it Both for I think you know a good faith and bad faith reasons because I think there's both out there frankly and I'm not talking on the right on the right. I think a lot of it's bad faith. Obviously but on the left you know on the left broadly speaking. I think there's good faith. I think there's bad faith you know I got an email from a listener and I'm not GonNa read the whole thing that was rather It was it was it was pretty moving. And it was long and Just going to refer to her as listener Cj But the gist of it was that she is a rape victim survivor and She has you know this Moments like this are very very painful Particularly for people who have been through something like this. They see the response to the allegations. The tarried hadn't she wasn't Raped by anyone who was a public figure in anyway but they see these allegations and the response to these allegations and it it it. It has a visceral impact on them. And she said I don't think I can bring myself to vote for Joe Biden Because of that however I would encourage everybody to vote for Joe Biden because You know would. There are much much larger things at stake And it was an interesting sort of take on this where she's like. I just I physically don't know that I have the ability to do it now. You know I totally respect that I do. I respect that position and I did. I mean to say this to normally you know in the case of some. Let's let's just use Al Franken for instance you know. There was a lot of controversy about those charges and there still is a lot of bitterness among a lot of people who think that they were not. It wasn't properly adjudicated or that he was unfairly tagged. And you know the whole thing and I understand that and know. I have a strong sense of justice. Some big civil libertarian. This kind of thing you know. There's a whole part of me. I'm torn right. As a as a woman as a feminist is as a person who cares about civil liberties and and and justice all that bothers me. But when I think about someone like Al Franken for instance I think you know it's. It's a shame that that happened if it was unfair if it was whatever But you know it's just a job with him. He was replaced by a fine senator. It's not the end of the world right. This isn't the end of the world of Al Franken isn't a senator anymore. I mean he at we can we can carry on. There was no legal ramification. He wasn't going to lose his freedom. He was GONNA lose a job that was dependent on the public. You know voting for him. This is this is a different situation. It's replacing to what you said about your your Email correspondent you know this is not. It's Joe Biden. WoN'T GO TO JAIL OVER THIS. The statute of limitations has long pass. Go Evidence is too flimsy. Probably for any kind of a criminal case and normally I'd say hey you know but it's bad enough that maybe this guy shouldn't be a senator or whatever but because of the situation that we're in because of the messing is of trying to replace him under anything but you know the most dire circumstances the fact that we're we're faced with a an election that looks much closer than it should be under the circumstances and we're in the middle of a global catastrophe. The stakes are way way way higher than they usually are. And that's why you can see someone like this person you know I. I can't do it because my own personal you know I just I can't but please don't let you know. Don't let that be a reason for you not to do it. Because the stakes are so high and I. I respect that position because the stakes are so high. I mean this is. This is much much bigger than your normal situation. I mean if Harvey Weinstein loses his job and his company it's not the end of the world If Donald Trump wins again it may be the end of the world. So we're having to take into consideration a whole set of issues that are playing into this. That are much bigger than we normally do in this situation. So you know I would just say that that person you know good for her for being able to sort of say that despite her own personal pain at having to deal with something like this I agree I I I was terribly impressed by that stance where you know completely understandable you and have a painful visceral reaction to it but also to be able to sort of step back and even with that even feeling that kind of pain realized that there's a lot of other people who are going to be suffering as a function of of Donald Trump Winning a a real action and you know at one point. I think there's also just pivot back to the political and then we'll move on. I do think that there is you know has been and I think this is where we were at yesterday like a legitimate political concern founded on that same attitude that that that the the emailer expressed for for encouraging people to vote for Biden. That this would make This would hurt. Biden's chances of winning and And that that is. I think you know where we were yesterday when we were talking about this and Positing like he's going to have to do something like axe And we'll see if that you know salvages and he's able to put this behind him. That x happened today and we will see if it was enough So I I you know the one thing that I am sort of like you know. And I have been relentless in my criticism and I feel like well warranted of Biden's campaign and his abilities and prior that his policies and whatnot. But I'm glad they did this today. As opposed to waiting any more from a political perspective this needs to be resolved. At least in terms of what they're gonNA do and how people are gonNA react as soon as possible because if there is if Biden has a failure to get past this. We all need to know sooner rather than later and And then we also got A. You know hope that there isn't another that there aren't more accusations out there that we haven't heard beyond the fact that we all know the guy doesn't seem to have any respect or anybody's personal space as a matter of course but We you know that's where we're at all right. Let's let's pivot from that Had there because again. We just added another fifteen minutes to do that. Did that conversation that we did. Yes thirty five. I mean new information. But there's there's a lot going on right now in terms of What you wrote about this a couple of days ago and it had nothing. S- nothing's changed. It's gotten a little more a little more extreme. You're we are looking at a new era of a confederacy. I if you will And it's happening in slightly a different Way I mean I guess I mean maybe it isn't maybe it is. Let's let's play this clip of Donald Trump. This is him yesterday at his Whatever it is the show he puts on the daily show Where he is Talking about the Republican states being in better shape than the Democrat states. And of course you know one of the things that helps when you're dealing with a pandemic is to not have density and the reality is that These states are simply not as dense as As let's Say New York right But here is Donald Trump yesterday. Basically You know was quite a Jackson position. Between this and Obama's we are. There's no rat America. There's no blue America is the Democrats have come to us. And they'd like to do a face four and we'll think about what's happening. They want to help the states they want bailouts and bailouts a very tough and they happen to be Democrat States California New York. It's Illinois you start with those three and the Republican states are in strong shape. Is that luck or is that talent or is it just a different mentality but the Republican run states are in strong shape? Look I I looked today when I spoke spoke with Rhonda Sanchez user. Yesterday's I said Florida's doing incredibly Texas is doing incredibly. These states are doing unbelievably they don't know about the word bailout We had a call from and governor of South Dakota and they have one of the finest run states. They have a constitutional amendment. They're not allowed to. They have to have a balanced budget and they have a balanced totally balanced budget. They just have a sales tax. That's about the only text they have is a sales tax. I mean think of that. So it's a whole different thing but Republican states are doing very well. Maybe the Democrat should have brought this up earlier when we wanted certain things and they did and we said and I said specifically now let's look at it later on down the road but they'd like to do something They WANNA do infrastructure. I can understand infrastructure. Think of it. We've spent eight trillion dollars in the Middle East and we're not fixing our roads in this country. How stupid. How stupid is that? And we'RE NOT FIXING OUR HIGHWAYS TUNNELS. Bridges are hospitals even our schools. Even it's crazy but but they want to do things and the Republicans are much better position from. I don't WanNA use the word negotiating position but we really are wearing a negotiating position. That's different because they want to bail out various states Illinois in big trouble. The governor understands that Pritzker he understands that but Illinois's in big trouble so there you have it He's basically saying like you know. Be Real shame if something happened to it but we're in a position where we are on the strings. Now we should also say you know one of the ways that Florida has helped itself from a fiscal standpoint is it has denied about ninety. Five percent of the unemployment claims coming from one point. Five million people there and so The this is all on the backs of of of people who've lost their jobs. I mean just the unbelievable miseration of people is is is basically what the metric has been if you have been able to discipline your pleads then maybe come to the king and you get some you get some diamonds and gold. I mean that's basically what's going on here. Well that's absolutely right. I can I just say that every time I hear his voice that something just you know. It's a feel a white hot heat. Go from the tip of my toes to the top of my head. It's really becoming a serious problem for me listening to that. Litany of lies That that smug ignorance of his. It's just it's really hard to take and in this particular situation first of all it's complete and utter nonsense that the only states that will be in need of help from federal government in this situation our democratic states. It's ridiculous even Florida by the way is one of them. It's on the list Kentucky Mitch McConnell stay I mean. He's he's in one of his is going to have one of the worst problems with public. Pensions of all now. He's perfectly willing. I'm sure to just completely trashed the public pension program in Kentucky. And just say let it go bankrupt. I have no doubt he is fine with that. That's part of Mitch McConnell. And he this is kind of a pinscher Sort of a tactic here because you got trump on the one hand saying well you know maybe some sanctuary cities. Maybe you could give me a little bit of that and mccown on the other hand is saying well. Maybe you could get rid of your public pensions and you know maybe go bankrupt on that. They're doing this. They're using this as we've seen in the past you know the whole disaster. Capitalism shock doctrine method. These people use Not that trump knows about that but you know he's sort of instinctively. You know it good at that to try and break the the public employees in in states and use this as an excuse to do it. It's absolutely horrific and it's also just nonsense. I mean California. For instance had a huge rainy day fund. It was really really great. I mean you know. They'd been building up all kinds of money for this. And as a result there shortfall. Isn't that much compared to what you what you see in New York or some of the other states that have been hard hit Illinois. But it's still there any day the rainy day fund in this state has gone. Now I mean there'll be a slight shortfall. They're going to need money certainly. The city's need money as well as the states and You know they did all the right things you know. They do have a public. You know a big. You know issue coming up with their public. Pensions as do all states. Virtually But this is an absolutely disgusting ploy on the part of trump and his his henchmen in the Republican Party to do this thing and to use this as an excuse and to sit there and just you know actually declare to me it. Sounds like he was just declaring war on the blue-state just saying you know. Look any any state. Run by Democrat is my enemy. That's just the way it is and all you people you and by the way there's some trump voters in those states to there's plenty of them You know there's plenty of trump voters in California. You see him waving their flags and talking about bailouts and all this other stuff on the streets here too just like you do in Michigan. They're not armed here. But you know whatever but I mean this. Is this this. This whole idea comes down to what I we I wrote about this week. Which is and I didn't get the idea. Come up with it myself. I got it from Ron Kline. Who was the OBAMAS EBOLA CZAR? But he had said a few weeks ago and Chris Hayes. Show that the basically what happened is that we sort of reverted to the articles of confederation and the main point of that being is that under the articles of confederation which were before the Constitution was was ratified. There was no president In fact the reason that they decided they needed a constitution and needed to create a stronger. Central Government was because you could not defend the country. You couldn't protect the country. Their fragile little country that they just fought for without some kind of a central government led by a leader of some sort. You know no no surprise they pick George Washington to be the first one So we don't we're we're we don't have a president a president. The president is not doing anything to actually. You know protect the country as a whole which is his main job. Basically what he's done is declare war on people who didn't vote for him that's how that's what he has done and to the extent that he's done anything it's been to mess things up not to make anything better to even to the point where you know you've got people like Larry Hogan a Republican by the way in Maryland sitting saying that he has to protect his his. You know the masks that he personally sent his wife over to South Korea to try and get his own healthcare workers and he had to protect them with the National Guard. When somebody asked him you know so you worried that FEMA is GonNa come and hijack your math news. Well we don't have to worry about the national guard protecting it now. That doesn't sound like war. I don't know what it is. I mean this is crazy. We have that clip. Play that clip it. We'll play that clip later but Yeah that's in. Its sheer insanity that I mean and it just like 'cause the last time this happened was during the civil rights era right where the National Guard was federalized. And you know to to promote Desegregation and We're you know we on laughed as it were Are On the other side of this. Right where the when the feds show up. It's a problem because they're stealing The personal protection equipment for the states. When you know the feds are taking their ball and you know using their power to To procure these things. And then you know. Basically selling it off to the highest bidder. I mean it. It really is a bizarre a really bizarre situation that we're dealing with and You know the there does not seem to be a a cohesive countervailing force right. I mean there's certainly not in DC. Like I don't I'm not seeing the communication or the there's no institutional structure it feels like for the blue state governors to and. Maybe they're doing it behind the scenes but to coordinate with the congressional leaders that we need to make sure that we're getting you know and and part of the problem is also the agendas of of of the Democratic Leadership you know. I'm look I'm thinking specifically things like you know the expansion of Cobra versus the expansion of Medicaid. You know I I mean in New York Andrew Cuomo and I suspect our next guest who were going to bring on shortly Can you know amplify this? But Andrew Cuomo's been cutting Medicaid In the in the middle of this pandemic and And you know an expansion of Medicaid. Let's say would be just what we need. Both you know from fiscally disciplined way. But you know I it. There's the the leadership of the Democratic Party at least in in Congress does not WANNA buck the insurance companies and is GONNA bail them out I would imagine there are. There's a whole host of things that Democratic Governors would want and that we don't have the same sort of infrastructure here and we don't necessarily have champions In the House who have the strength that we need to champion some of those things. I mean there'll be some things surely but But it's it's a problem saying they're not even coming to work. I mean you know this week. There was this you know talked about this earlier that you know. Why are they not considering themselves essential workers? I mean my grocery store down the street here has a bunch of people who've come to work every day in the middle of this thing. It's not particularly safe for them. But they're doing it. They're trying to protect themselves or doing what they can. But because it's essential that we get to buy food. I cannot for the life of me understand why they house of Representatives is not in session. I just I just don't get it. I can't believe they can't come up with a way to socially distance and keep themselves protected. I know that many of them are in a high risk group. But I still believe that. This is one of those times when really that kind of leadership would be important. And I'm not saying that they should run around without masks or do Mike Pence or anything you know. They need the model proper behavior but they are essential workers and the fact that they're not doing it and then they tried to do it. You know if there were people saying well you know maybe we really should come back and apparently it was the the rank and file. That's what we were told that rose up in in opposition saying no. We don't WanNa come back this Alice. Yeah I don't buy it either and I just find it. I assume I have to assume this is some kind of political calculation that you know let trump just over and his own mess here and we won't really but it's it's not it's bad it's showing. It's giving a very very bad image. I think of the of the Democrat even forgetting the policy and ice cream thing but just just in general the idea and it was kind of refreshing when they did come back to do the vote. And you see them there. And they weren't wearing masks and socially distancing and doing all that and Republicans were making asses of themselves. You know doing their but whatever it was. I'm going okay. They're functioning here. And then you know the whole thing falls apart well. We're going to recess again. I I will never understand this. I think this is the strangest decision on their part. This is a time when they should be. And I'm not saying you're just politicize every single thing that's going on but this is political. Donald Trump has made ethical listening. But you know it is. There is every aspect of this is political. It was political before it hit in terms of like how prepared we were for this both ranging from You know all our pandemic readiness that had been undercut because of an ideology and the fact that as a as a country. We are suffering unemployment in a way that no other country in the world is and that is because of a political policy decision. We are suffering in terms of health care in ways that no other country at least it. Industrialized countries are suffering because of political policy decisions that have been made in this country for decades. And so we were ill suited to deal with something like this because of it from a just a structural standpoint and we're we're the we have a party that is using this to make structural change to America. They are going. I mean that's the thing like there is no there is no not making change in this environment it just the. Republicans are doing it and saying they're not doing it and the Democrats are doing just like they're just bailing water. They're not taking a position. And and and part of it is because that's part of their agenda to that they don't have a problem with the some of these structural changes or to the extent that they do. They're not the they are trying to kill themselves that we can get out of this with just like we'll just go back to normal. No that's not happening there. That's not happening. We will find a new normal but it will be one where there are no small businesses. We will find a new normal but will go on where there is massive wealth inequality the there is. This is one of those situations where it's like. You have to make a choice. The only bad decision and and doing these half-measures or these stopgap things. All you're doing it's a at the at the best analogy I can give is saying. I'm not gonNA vote for Joe Biden or Donald Trump. You if you show up the way that the Democratic Congress is showing up now you're basically signing off on their agenda there. There is no other option. It is you forge a new radically different Option or YOU ACCEPT THEIRS PERIOD. There is no going back to some half-measures. That's just not. That's just a joke but I don't even understand the political calculation because I don't either. I don't understand why they don't WanNa be sitting there. You know being in session and holding hearings and doing this kind of you know being active and saying you know I mean. Because they're saying well look you know we couldn't get the you know the help for the states in this one will get it in the next one and then we'll do this for hospitals in the next one after that you know doing this. Sort of incremental You know kind of relief bills. Shouldn't they showing that? They're working on those incremental relief bills if that's what they WANNA do. I mean how the hell do we even know what they're doing? We don't see any negotiation. We've seen nothing. It's like this void and all you've got donald trump coming along telling people that drink bleach. I mean it's really very unnerving I think for the average citizen to see what their government is doing right now or not doing basically indeed. Well Heather thank you so much for your time today. Maybe maybe next week. We'll be sightly better. I don't know I wouldn't either Heather Parton folks checkout Hullaballoo. Had over there. She's got a tip jar you can also see. Read her stuff at Salon Had Their apartment digby thank you so much always always a real pleasure are a great weekend. Stamping you too. All right folks. Let's Let's just bring Our next guest winsome Pentagon brass into On Air now winsome are you there. Yes I am so when some. Thank you for For Holding I know that you were you. Were waiting for for a little bit so I know that you have been in organizer for Housing Justice with New York communities for Change You me. I just a broad sense of what's what's happening today. And why okay so I'm not really a organizer? I am a delegate. Ira closely with the organizers of house injustice for all and I'm a member of New York For Change so for far too long. We have noticed here in New York City that the poor set of people the people who can't talk for themselves people who don't have resources are struggling and suffering gentrification and dislocation as the whole the population on the places that black and Brown people as always have as a thriving community and to make matters worse the powers that the in Albany. They don't address system off how cruel it is. The poor people children included sobe. So right now I'm thinking we really. We have a hundred thousand people in shelters and in New York City. The trains Linda train up into a station. And you see two cars empty. We in New York no not to go into those scars. That are empty it. It's not that there is not seats but that it is taken up by homeless people so we have to cram in other cars like Saudi intense. We are asking we have been asking. We have been petitioning with petitions. Signed the left right and center and we talked to all the legislators assembly members and to governor coal more. He doesn't WanNA talk to us. What we know you hear a plea shows that the housing crisis is getting out of hand. Then comes Colby Nineteen Zoom. It explodes their people in shelters who are not wearing masks. They have not been tested. Some people he left the hospital had no home for themselves. They go right back into a shelter where possible viruses already existing. The landlords are trying to play as if their victim here. But we know that they're covered by four twenty one eight. A lot of people don't know that is a is a government program that landlords can get a certain amount of money to for the upkeep of their buildings but we know that a lot of those landlords. Don't spend that money. They put it into an escrow account. Are they might send in the country. The small Luntz mom-and-pop landlord percival she and her granddaughter put together by a House. We are not fighting against them. We are fighting with them. We want their mortgages to be cancelled. The the bank swims learn the the the the corporate landlord any amount of money at a small interest rate if mom-and-pop will into the bank and say Okay. I need someone that that's interest rate that they're going to get that money is gonNA throw them out on the streets or so but right now. Half of New York City is not working people who did housecleaning a little housekeeping. Might be going might have been going home. Three hundred and sixty dollars. They might have to cocaine in their house or Bacon to come up with a wrench where one student in New York is going for. Fifteen hundred dollars every three weeks. Come on we are calling on the governor to address that plight just a while ago. I saw government a hormone in his press conference. And it's all about The nursing homes hospitals that a da and that is quite good then a reporter said I heard the noise outside. I went outside and we see people outside. There's a caravan outside. We have a comment of a hundred strong right now in Manhattan and we have people doing banner drops from buildings and dropping bodybags. Haas's somebody buys was job at Jeff bezos building. That billionaire will just refurbish is luxury apartment. For thirty billion in Manhattan. And she's asking him. What do you have to say? To the renter's. The tenants who are suffering e didn't even give the quest in a one minute audie said. Oh it's not the first. We have protesters when they're in Albany. They share the windows. They will always be protected but as you know from now until Jones nobody can be evicted. That's not enough. They're gonNA come after us with all guns drawn at the end of June. Where are we going to get the money to pay three months? If we can't come up with maize rent saw the strategy that we have today was the five boroughs. There is an action with people. Keeping their distance of course wearing them is what we are calling on all the representatives but especially Governor Cuomo to address the SYS-. The situation that we are in knowledge renters and landlords landlords already asked intense pay with credit card. Use Your debit card. Landlords are already tuition eviction notice on people's door. They're calling up their lawyers and asking them. How soon can we take actions? So that is why we have bit Lavar. You have people who are in wheelchairs. You have people online in apartment building right now with accident mask or something are some some kind of equipment because of the debilitating diseases are is that there is suffering from. Nobody's thinking about them trump on dollars stimulus. Jake cannot help anyone in New York City records. America under calling on Governor Cuomo in New York to address the system. Winsome what specifically if you had the opportunity to to introduce a piece of legislation or an executive order like what specifically. What would be the idea that Call ON THE STATE TO To Pay The rant or to simply You know Like tell me exactly what because I I mean obviously you can say as the state has like you know you can't. There's no elections until June. Well that's great but it's not like you're building up a war chest of cash that you're going to be able to pay off three months of rent Back Rent Junior. You're going to be in the exact same situation. Except for presumably the landlords are going to have like all of their Their paperwork ready at just pump it into the system. What what should what should Cuomo do? What should Democrat now? The thing on the table. Two hundred million years are living in New York and they don't pay adequate taxes. There is a small amount of millionaires. Who have been knocking on governor. Komo's door all the time and we were going to Albany fighting for the nine bills that we wanted to pass. We were coming across a small amount of millionaires. I forgot the name they call themselves. No were begging to be taxed to pay some more so many millionaires by a luxury apartment in Manhattan. They don't even live here. They're living in other parts of the world. It just coming right for a month or two every day people. We pay the bulk of the taxes. Why can't you tax? Jeff Basil some and all the others that. I'm just untorn his name. How because right now we are at his doorstep. Have HIS DOORSTEP RIGHT NOW. It bodybags because he's not even protecting his workers in the warehouse over in. Staten Island what the landlords can be taxed and bear. They're people within our organization or done the work. They have done the homework and they have shown us in our briefings where they can tax the landlord. We'd all their luxury They're they're copters their yachts airplanes and all the money that they have unequal use that money to fund it. That's that Situation in New York to help the poor class of people look. It's like a ladder. Some are at the top of sums in the beginning. The rest of us is trying to get to her hand on the ladder so we can pull herself what the people at the top are kicking our hands off meaning from government to took to the rich. They're kicking hands up so we can't even get a space on the ladder and that's not fair because we contribute to this lovely state. We pay taxes. We work like a dog in this status so that we can take care for family as what Uncle Sam Guineas cut off. The top is not fair and we. We've we've definitely seen in the context of what's happening. We covered That the highest rates of infection and deaths are happening in the thing and That is indicative of both a lack of medical services they're Long term and short term and a function of who are deemed necessary workers. Who are doing what we as a society has deemed the necessary work. Yes sir I have a friend who worked in a nursing home within four weeks. She was sent home to self quarantine. She went back to work on Monday. Was she was afraid. She's gone into a depression. One mask for five days one mask for five days every evening daily work they have to put it in an envelope or a paper bag and come back and use the same dirty mask. The next day come on the nursing homes are run by millionaires. They had they take people's life insurance. They take their houses. They take social security their pension. Come on and nobody stocking up for those. Cna's or working in deplorable condition. There'd be covered by eleven ninety nine eleven ninety nine union eleven. Ninety nine dropped the ball. They don't even go and ask them how they're doing. They don't even ask them about the situation. The mass and that one. Cna is taking care of eleven. Took thirteen patient in an eight hour span. Come on so Winsome now how much are you guys? Coordinating with with organizers and activists and delegates around the country. See well I we have been doing a lot of Florida nation. I myself I have a lot of zooms called conference call with CB at cre- and a whole slew of people across the country people from Detroit. Foreign them Maine Pennsylvania auto again. I it is. It is so heartening to see that today. In the in the midst of a pandemic people are standing up going out as I said we have a car caravan of one hundred and twenty strong right now between the five boroughs in New York and I know it. Stretch right across BENEF- America. There is an amount of people from the from Teacher's Union too. So automotive workers even Him University colleges they immigrant student. They are suffering to. Somebody gave the sniff story the other day from Columbia that they want them to vacate the the dorms and to go home but they can't go home so then they turn on tack extra forty five dollars per day for them to pay it to stay in their domes. That's not right winsome. What what can folks who are listening to this now do to help or there are a lot of speed for today? Who Jain with us and they tell us point blankly we can pay our rent what we are standing in solidarity of the people cannot pay and they are downright those of us who don't have enough floyd's this month's rent mayday rent. We don't have the call is clarion call for all uprising citizen. Who have a hard and who care about you managed to join with We are not here to tell people that we want anything free. We are voters in our constituency. And they need us to vote. We know our votes is important because the garden is not paying us any mind. Noble when voting eat coming the ghetto and knock on doors with us. There was a time and we were on his team. What little by little notice that he's not paying us any mighty go over to cooperate any forget us so there are people are joining us standing in solidarity with the many thousands and thousands of tenants who cannot pay their rents and the many thousands of Children Children Warren shelter. They can't go to the refrigerator and throws a glass mill better yet. They can't do the zoom classwork. School is not asking them to do and the shelters and it there on the street on sleeping on a train with their parents. They're really cannot do it. We are human we need. We need our elected official to realize that all that they take to protect us and to look out for Welby Winsome pendergrast so much for taking the time Good luck out there Keep his day. That's what we do. And we don't know where the edges unless we've gone over the edge and pullback and how do we do that we do it in front of an audience? Okay this mother fucker and all these politicians like Mitch McConnell and these hypocritical bullshit artists can say whatever the fuck they want because they're in power and yet comics. Who are the goal is to make you? Laugh are getting vilified and and we are the lap. Satirist the truth tellers. We have with any can't take a joke because these are dumb shit. But isn't I mean people aren't being? There's there's no government action right. That is a attacking comedians. It's just audiences are pushing back in certain instances. No you know. It's also the left the left this constant can't say this word and you can't say that no one listens to the intent of the comic. The context are taken out of context. There's no nuance in in a in a tweet or you know and social media given all these assholes upon for him to say. Oh I heard this joke. And he said a joke about this or she showed a joke about that and it wasn't funny okay. That's your fucking opinions. That's your fucking. It's called a sense of humor since it's not like it's either like a sense of taste or sense of smell you either like salty food or you don't like salty food okay. So so it's a subjective thing. Stop compare it. You know like saying like this joke isn't funny and this person should be vilified for the rest of their fucking life when this guy is killing people talking telling people is words and actions are literally killing people. What tell me the last one to die from a bad joke motherfuckers? Well I mean you said and sell it. I'll tell you the last time someone died from a bad joke. I mean according to Donald Trump is when he was joking around about Wiping yourself down with the CLOROX. No that would that would sarcasi- but Goodwin and is it on. Yeah we're GONNA look into that we're going to look at and they're all standing there like. Oh my God. I can't believe I have to work for the dumb piece of fucking Shit and listen. It's like okay. You know crazy guys talking and then we'll get up there and tell you it's like stop it or they should have a bell every time he's fucking lies. There should be like a fucking like those bugs zappers where you know. It should be like this is maybe he should get a bucket shop. He should get a shock every time he fucking says the bullshit lie for my God. How great would that be? That'd be actually pretty fun to watch his reaction but Li like. There's things that occurred to me and I know you've already written a book You can't change up. Yeah congratulations. Thank you But is it. Do you think part of the the the the narrow birth and I think it's I mean I I gotta be honest. I in some instances I think it is a valid That people push back on on stuff that they've find offensive like there's no reason why people can't express their opinion as well. I don't know why and you know what they can do. You know what they can also do. They can turn the channel or not listening to the comedy but they don't have to say. This person should never work again. You know what I mean like. I listened to hate speech. We all listen to hate speech all fucking day long from this administration. Wait wait wait. I agree with that second part but I'm saying staying on the first part right before we shift act to who who's worse In in our culture. I think it's like I have. I met rights to even if I'm not a comedian and I totally I can come out and say like you know I mean like legal for instance. There's a couple of different dynamics people out there who I listened to the SAM To the majority poor today and judy goal was saying so incredibly offensive things about electrocuting. The pray and right and I am I as you know the the host of the no one listening to the majority report. It's GonNa find it offensive that he should get an electric shock every time. He's fucking live great. I agree but we're going to flip this going to clip this and it's not inconceivable that certainly has happened in the past right right. You know some right winger will be like. Here's Sam Cedar Chuckling at the idea that the president during a pandemic would be receiving small but You know significant electric shocks every time. He supposedly lied and since he's a singer. This mug smirk on his face thinking. It's funny this guy should be cancelled and you know what my feeling is. I'm willing to debate this in a public right. Like my show relies on support from an audience. And bring it if you if you think I should be cancelled for this. Bring it. I'm willing to have this conversation in public. Yeah and if the weight but if public decides that Sam Cedar You have lost your your license with the audience. Not An official license. It's just like an audience are no longer going to support you because I think your gross me. It's like you know as a stand up stand ups have the ability. One of the beautiful things about being stand up is that you don't need much support it's like you and the audience you don't need to be sponsored by a big corporate outfit right right and so if there's an audience out there you're gonNA find them. You're going to be able to go out there and small clubs. We'll book you or you can go book a room and Phil. Right and like nobody's taking away your ability to do that and and and same thing with me like all I need is my camera and th this microphone and a couple hundred bucks and I'm I'm out there. I'm live and if you know what Dan. You need a little more than that. You need a brain. You need a sense of humor. But I'm just saying I know what needs to be what I'm saying. I'm saying there's nothing that they can take away from me. Even if they decide like that away from the worry that sound like I have. No problem with people criticizing. What I say on the show I you know I I would. I put out there and it is true that as a comedian you are walking more of a tight rope right because I know like I'm not I'm not here. I'm not creating art. I'm I'm out here. I'm you know I have an agenda and and I WANNA sir out agenda. And comedians have an agenda that's more nebulous which is make people laugh and that's more dangerous because you don't know where wind at that but you know at the same time like it's up to the audiences to how much latitude they're going to give in different eras in this is not Lenny Bruce Getting The cops showing up at his performances and threatening to arrest him for saying stuff about Catholics right or segregation or I mean they got him on. They got him on the curse words but they were really arresting him for the content. You know what he was really talking about the subject matter. I agree that they didn't want and so was that happening. And I I agree. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. But why are comedians held to a higher standard? Why is it that this person should never work again? And yet elected official you know can say like Oh that was just a joke and literally kill people. I think it's because it's easier to judge comedians. And you have more like power over comedians and you do over politician. I think that's right. They have more power. They have more power. But you can't shut. You can't shut people up like I have my opinions. You have your opinions does that. I believe in all freedom of speech Fox News should continue to be able to continue their bullshit law like bath. They have every right to do it but you know. Let's call a spade of Spain like when it's Alliance ally you know. Do you think that There were these two doctors who were coming out saying like this whole corona virus thing. We work at a a health care facility Private Healthcare Facility in California. We've done our own research and This whole corona virus thing. It's not as It's not nearly as fatal as people are making it out to be. It's not really bad do you. Think that Youtube should have the right to pull down at video I think if it's their platforms They should yeah. It's their platform. It's just like a network Airs whatever they want they cut shit out of out of shows all the time more would never want the abortion episode of what would never be broadcast right now. Is that the climate in this country. So if you are working for a corporation If you know could this person stand out in the middle of the street and yell? You know it's really not that bad but yeah fine but you know if you're on youtube that's owned by corporations. So do you think it would be ability? Do you think it would be legitimate? Put aside the Youtube thing for people to go out in front of that That healthcare facility. I think it's like one of those. I don't know who could quick. Md's or whatever that is due to. Yeah whatever it is. Do you think it would be okay for people to stand outside of it? You know with signs saying these guys are quacks. They should lose their license. They can do whatever they want with America. There's what's his friends. Help is going to funerals. Thing you know got God hates fags you know for He signs it says God hates fact at these. You know these funerals of our Servicemen you know And Gay people and it's just yeah they that is look. If we don't it's it's the hate haters. Don't show there. Hey you know. We don't have a point to make that we're hated. You know like we have to see I. I believe in all freedom of speech. They have a right to do it while Judy but yeah I do too. That's why I like you to come on and talk about the the theoretical hypothetical situation where we would have a device that would in some way give immediate feedback politicians when they said a lie in the form of an electrical stimulus right. But it's also you know people need to do their due diligence and read and and you know and in this this hatred of what they call they call us the elites because we re I mean seriously you're entitled to your opinion and you're entitled to argue your opinion but back it up with facts facts or important. The truth is important. Only the truth is funny and only the truth is real. I mean you know it's cut the guy's fucking was saying. Oh we're going to look into You know he literally said suggested that you should drink a little. Bit of core oxy fucking. It's right there and then he denies it. Gas Lights everyone. It's ridiculous. It is ridiculous because everybody knows the only way to get the clorox to the lungs is to Open is to actually create an incision right in right just below the the bone in between the chest in between the ribs right and then go in with the spine. Check THAT RIGHT. And you can also use like a needle that you would use to To pump up a ball you can poured in through that. You know basketball or football. Judy needle with the hall at the bottom. Yeah you can insert that shove it up your ass with your fucking guns Judy. When does your book comes out? July twenty eight Is this is this? Is this the the the dam you're in it and what you are in it? Wait what yeah. Yeah remember. We talked about. I had I asked you about how you know some issues you had with being cancelled. You're in there. Oh I do well in that case hold on Jack and wait a second dam traffic. We're how graphic it it is. I like the cover. I was just about to say Judy Gold Yes. Stay safety all right take care everyone be say thank you to all the workers and the and the the doctors and the everyone essential workers. Thank you thank you thank you okay everyone else go fuck themselves attack. Judy Gold Ladies and gentlemen they haven't I guess Freebie Friday right guys I mean come on where is Jamie? Let's bring Jane once But let's before we do. Let me just play this clip? We had mentioned earlier. I won't. We're talking to digby about the this bizarre situation we have. I mean among all the other bizarre situations of of states forming packs to basically protect themselves from the malfeasance and the species of our federal government. And in this instance we're really talking about malfeasance. I mean Larry Hogan who I do not terribly appreciate as a governor but in this day and age Better than other Republican Governors Zahn with a Bob cost on Washington Post live. He his wife. I believe was for South Korea or at least a very least head connections in South Korea. So they were able to get Tests from South Korea to administer in in Maryland and I mean we contemplate the fact that this question could even be asked and this response given in You know any era. That didn't involve I guess. I don't know the civil war. Here's Larry Hogan on with the Bob cost based on my own reporting. You had some concerns about whether the feds would seize these tests when you brought them over from South Korea. Is that true? Were you concerned that the federal government would try to take those tests out of your hands was a little bit of a concern of trying to get these things and it was a very complicated process you know we. We spent about twenty two days and nights dealing with this whole transaction with Korea dot with the Green Embassy and votes at the State Department in Korea Eight different state agencies in our scientists on both sides trying to figure out these tests than that at the last moment. I think twenty four hours before we got signed off from the FDA an order and customs As it tried to make sure that we landed this plane safely. We made sure it landed at. Bwi Airport Instead of Dulles the first Korean Air Past your plan has ever landed at Baltimore. Washington International Airport We landed it there. With a large contingent of Maryland. National Guard and Maryland State police because this was enormously valuable Payload it was like it was like Fort Knox to us because going to save the lives of thousands of our citizens and there had been reports of For example in Massachusetts Governor Baker told the story of his plane load game in With with masks was basically confiscated by the federal government and he had to then get Robert Kraft the owner of the Patriots fly second mission with private plane to try to bring some of that equipment in a couple of other states in that similar story. So we were just making sure that That was so important to us that we wanted to make sure that that plane took off from Korea safely landed here in America. Safely guarded that cargo from whoever might interfere with the the. Us getting that to our folks donated the National Guard. Protecting tests is the National Guard in Maryland. Still protecting those tests. They are the National Guard and the state. Police are both guarding these Tasse. Undisclosed location These things are being distributed. They're helping US distributed the test they're also helping in all kinds of other humanitarian needs. We have about thirteen hundred members of the Maryland. National Guard who've been activated nother eight hundred that are on standby ready for activation within eight hour period but they were just tremendous. They're helping distribute supplies in. Pb helping us with the distribution. Get the gist of it. Here Larry Hogan's not saying that. Oh we we brought it. I mean this stuff is like Fort Knox. Oh so. We have the State troopers and we had the national guard there because we were afraid of like some type of con air scenario or where. We thought like there would be this Paramilitary that would come in and take it they. They are guarding these tasks from the federal government business. This is insanity and it's not like the federal government is going to go and like well. We're we're GONNA actually responsibly distributed this. They're going to go and hand it to private enterprise so they can maximize profit on it like literally. The federal government is like pirate tears. It's insanity this is insanity and the insanity doesn't stop right there. I mean just the idea that like oh it would be great if blankety blank was to You know I don't know doing investigation about this or start to publicize like how problematic this is. As in blankety blanket seems to me would be congress but a don't perceive themselves as necessary workers need to show up and be they don't even think like why bother with like zoom setup. I mean Jeez. We're just what what what Kyle's been able to do with this show know I find somebody built something. What's get some hearings going even if it's got to be remote I mean you've gotta be kidding me. It really is just unprecedented. We're getting a reputation around the world as a pirate over these medical supplies to Latin. American countries have accused us of the exact same thing. It's just crazy. This had happened between the national state. Guard it's not. It's not meanwhile on the other side of this. Donald TRUMP DONALD TRUMP's tweet about this. Let's put up his tweet. The you know people have been referring to this protesting whatnot. And everybody's made the point that if A dozen or two dozen African Americans showed up to the Michigan State. House armed to the teeth yelling at At cops that things would have gone down? Probably a little bit differently but make no mistake about it when you think about what. Terrorism is where you know. It's one thing about protests to say we're mad and we're going to leverage our labor or our civil consent we're going to leverage that to try and get you our government to change our policies. That's the way you do it in a democracy. That's what makes you a protester. Okay but when you project that what? You're going to a what you're bringing is violence when you threaten violence. That's not protesting when you when you're displays of potential violence right. I'm going to blow up a Mina blow up a building empty of people. But I'M GONNA blow up a building as a as a warning. I'M GONNA burn this now as a warning is going to be violence. If don't do what I say that's terrorism when people show up armed to the teeth to a two statehouse and they're not even there. This is not about gun rights for them right. This is about something different. That's not protest. That's terrorism play the clip. Play the clip of Of the protesters in Michigan can't quite see they're the guys with guns. This is not an I want to make clear. This is not. Yeah there we go. This is not guys protesting about Second Amendment rights or a bill about Carrying their weapons. They're they're ostensibly protesting something completely different. But they're bringing weapons. What is what are they trying to communicate with their flak jackets and they're semiautomatic rifles. They're trying to communicate the potential of violence. The what what. That is terrorism. We don't say when somebody blows up a building. There's no people in there that that's attempted terrorism. If they're if they're pursuing a political agenda this is what the this is what the deficit terrorism's they are trying to terrorise the people. There intimidate them through violence. Not Leveraging their labor not leveraging their civil obedience they are literally coming there and saying we got these guns. We got these guns. It's a threat. It's a threat of physical violence. And so how would the president of the United States react to this? We have his twitter. Tweet the governor of Michigan should give a little and put out the fire. These are very good people but they are angry. They want their lives back again safely. See them talk to the make a deal. What kind of deal? We had a deal with the people because they show up with guns. What about you make a deal and expand unemployment for them? They want their lives back. Why don't you make a deal and make sure that they can pay their rent or that. They're not GONNA get in trouble for not paying their rent. What are they GONNA do? Shoot the virus. They're gonNA shoot it making clearly go out and about why. Don't they sit in the middle of the town square and and and protests and start encouraging other people to come out and risk their lives? I mean give me a break. It really is. I mean what are we now? Six weeks into this six weeks into this. The reality is that even in the the most infected areas New York City. It's probably no more than ten to twenty percent infected. Probably no more rest country probably five percent. So you do the math if you an assuming that had Cove is been in New York City since you know February one month to month. Maybe three months two months well over ten thousand. Maybe I don't know maybe twenty thousand a dead fifteen percent In fact did you need to get to sixty or seventy percent in New York? And that's just assuming that you can then make that population stable right like New York wouldn't be a place where people come to. I mean you can do the math as to how long this is. GonNa take round the country it's GonNa take longer and we have a national leadership that is encouraging this stuff. It's encouraging your is Dennis. Prager this is just unbelievable. Where's Jamie is Jamie here? You're succumbs Ohio Johnny. Hey how's it going on this casual Friday? Oh Yeah it's not. It doesn't feel so casual. Look at that that great new stand you have. Oh yeah you know. It's a little bit big for my frame but I've angled it down and I think it's GonNa work so thank you. Maybe you need some type of Gooseneck. It is a little bit. I think you should put it on the other side also because shadowing on your little bit there you go. Yes a little better. Oh Yeah here we go there. We go all right. That's great It may be put like a little Like logo right on the thing. That's a good idea. Always be brand. Dig exactly how are you doing? I'm okay I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about the terrorism thing. It's always really stressful for me. To see it in the news and get angry all over again at the society. We live in which clearly doesn't care about victims of sexual assaults the Democratic Party which only cares when it suits politically. And you know all the band who've ever wrong to me in my life other than that. I'm doing great well Do you want to You WanNa do you want to say a couple of things? Sure Oh boy well. Let's see I'm GONNA start out by quoting Marx as I often do. When he said history repeats itself the first time in his tragedy and the second is far. And I think we're seeing that happened now with Tara Reid stuff because it's like a technicolor replay of everything. That happened with Bill Clinton in the nineties high. Like I should back up and say I that I believe her There was a lot of concurrent reporting which we're seeing come out and the story rings very true to me as I'm sure it does. Many survivors of sexual assaults at workplace sexual harassment. It's very normal for survivors to change their stories based on cues. They're getting about how they're going to be received if they don't feel safe of course they're not going to tell you the whole thing. I said like six months ago on the show that I wouldn't be surprised if Biden how to meet you coming and right and people thought that it sounded a little farfetched but this stuff exists on a continuum and seeing the way that he touches women in public. It's not that surprising to me that he'd also do it in a worse way. Private if you if you listen to him on Morning Joe Today. He wouldn't even say that he remembers her which makes me sick but is also probably true because like he said she was nothing to him he did it incredibly casually and also. He's fucking senile. So I I believe that. He probably doesn't remember it and he's just used to having people cover up for his. I mean this is like another side point about how maybe people shouldn't be in positions of immense power for that long because it tends to both attract people who like having power over others and also it can corrupt people right so so going forward like the Democrats have bet on the fact that nobody's GonNa care about this and on a level they're probably right. Let me just ask you what you mean by the Democrats. I mean because because we're when we're talking about a universe of of people who would vote for the Democratic nominee pry. I'm talking about the leaders of the party. Okay the people who the institution itself. I'm not talking about the voters. The voters largely based on how their trusted institutions have signaled to them is a good way to vote. I'm not putting the blame on them. But we saw this during the cavenaugh. Hearing right I was a hundred percent. Sure nothing was going to come of it because this society does not care about survivors of sexual assault and at the time. A lot of Democrats were saying the right things they were right about. This guy should not be on the Supreme Court. Now we have a bunch of people who said that stuff back then deleting their old tweets about it and turning around and doing exactly what the Republicans were doing Christine Blasi Ford attacking her character attacking her as a Russian asked. Set saying she's got a screw loose it really it. It's disgusting and I know that I've argued for the metoo movement in the past because although it itself is not a radical phenomenon that has a limited analysis but it can point in radical directions right if we turn it into a conversation about power and the wider problems of the things that suck about having to work for a boss who has absolute power over you right but I think me to itself has been largely corrupted and Co opted by the establishment we see this with Anita Dunn's relationship with Time's up. This person should not be in charge of this kind of thing it's entanglements with the NGO Industrial Complex which basically exists to launder the reputations of wealthy liberals and their children they do some good work but it is essentially a bourgeois institution and that it upholds the existing power structures. So maybe we need a different kind of me to that has a more radical analysis of more independent existence independently of these bourgeois institutions. I don't know it's just. It's really depressing to me. And it's depressing to see the Democratic Party going the same route that they went with Bill Clinton right like we have two alleged rapists running for president and I really think socialist feminist analysis is the only thing that can explain it right now. Yeah I mean I my sense. Is that the the broad democratic electorate. I I mean I think in the same reasons why they supported Biden to the extent that they did in the first place Also I don't know if he doesn't care is the right word or don't they just wanted to go away and the easiest way for it to go away is for them to dismiss it and I think It is indicative of you know this dynamic of when you know when you have someone like Donald Trump in the presidency. Because you end up having to just simply way it's like. I don't know like the Trolley. I don't even remember what the Trolley dilemma is. But I feel like it's one of those Where you know your just weighing these two These two options and those are the two options that You have And that's problematic. I mean I think we brought up Al Franken. It was there was. I think the assessment at that time was that the political price to be paid five containing. These standards was not large enough to not maintain the standards. And there's a lot of double negatives in there but in other words I think that if let's put it this way. I think that if Minnesota was a red state and there was a Republican governor there who would appoint a Republican senator to replace Al Franken. I think he would have gotten that. Investigation I think he would have been there for the Senate investigation. I think that there wouldn't have been nearly the same pressure to get them out. But it was the political price was simply not as high as As it would have been had he been replaced not by a you know a democratic Politician and so I think that's the reality of our society. I mean you're saying that voters are weighing the options right now but they've only been given one option right people who trump and want to get him out like they have been told that. Joe Biden is the only option so I think the vast majority of them voted for for by. Yeah because they were led to believe that he was the only option. And I think it's a tough square circle but I like to look at it through. The Lens of De Politicized and ideology right ideology is not just. Somebody's conscious political opinions right. We all have ideology. It's conscious subconscious. It's based on our conditions which are often shifting and I can cause politicized vision because many people in this world especially working class people who are used to getting so little. The log march into Neo liberalism these past few decades. They believe a perhaps with lots of evidence to support this belief that a- better world is not possible right. This is the world that we have and the Democrats Tepid Rapi but slightly less rapi. Do Liberal experimentalist. Politics are the only alternative to a rising proto fascist authoritarian. Right right and I also think that certain kinds of fear mongering about trump really don't help matters like trump is certainly bad. Republicans are bad in general. I don't think he is a uniquely bad Republican I think George W Bush is definitely responsible for more deaths at this point in time. Although we'll see as this crisis progresses so it's not surprising to me that people would behave and vote in certain ways or not vote right because lots and lots of working class. People don't vote at all Under the current conditions right I mean but but I think that's a I think that's I mean I think that assessment is is valid but it's also generic and in the sense that look that may be the case we just ran an experiment At least if without a long term sustained effort to organize people and to change that consciousness and those beliefs sets what would happen if you ran Joe Biden versus Bernie Sanders in You know against Ultimately Face Donald Trump did no surprise that the That the candidate who came from the last administration and had been You know a forty year democratic. Ah You know A part of the Democratic Institution was going to get the support of all of those. You know Instruments of power that existed. And so they're still a significant number of people the majority who voted thus far in the Democratic primaries yes they did get signals from The media yes they did get signals from the Democratic Party to that Joe Biden. Was there guy in some respects? It was less than maybe one would anticipate. I think is a function of people boy. Having a legitimate concerns about Joe Biden's abilities just cheer abilities And that but that's the reality of where we're at now and It's also you know I I it so there is like it's it's shitty situation and The you know the like with that with that set right. Because the critique that you're making I think is legitimate one form or another Maybe not necessarily in the same language but it's a critique that I've made for years and it is the case but now we have a different reality. We cannot go back ten years and fifteen twenty years and do the work that was yet to be done. We need to do a going forward in terms of like building a consciousness of the way that our system and our government works. I'm not as head I think as as you are to the notion that We need a very a a coalition that is served like narrowly Or or constructed and I mean narrow in terms of of actual numbers. Because I think there's more numbers of those people but narrowly constructed in terms of like class interests As you do. But broadly speaking The their relationship to power there. You know there needs to be infrastructure. Built that so that the next time that we get a Bernie style candidate There is there's simply more power there that more than thirty percent of the of the electorate votes for him or that other people come out and vote. That didn't vote before. But here we are with this scenario and So then that's what sucks about. This is because this is what we're stuck with For the time being anyways and There is no amount of assessment. We you know we got a six month timeframe now Almost almost exactly six months. You know we're talking one hundred and eighty days and so I don't have any other answer yes to say beyond. Yeah sucks it sucks. We have our work cut out for us and I think you know the Birdie movement taught us a lot of things I think my hope is that ultimately did strengthen the left But I think I forgot who said this but solidarity has to be experienced to be believed right and we have lots of chances before the next presidential election before the next any kind of election to be building working class institutions to be building solidarity. I mean the material conditions themselves will give rise to a lot of this right. We've been seeing strike. Actions Arise seemingly overnight all over the country. We're seeing a massive strike today Right you talked about it with instant. Cart workers Whole foods workers other kinds of workers walking out and fighting for their rights. And I think that solid terrific experience will do much more for class consciousness and bubble up into the electoral sphere in a way that it could not simply by running a campaign based around people's material interests. I hope so. I guess we'll see there's also we should say there's also other Sort of consciousness Protests people are oppressed. Dennis Prager Cranston's is highly oppressed. You know they Usually has the ability to sit in front of his fireplace with his dog there and opined and then walk out and have a stake at. Ruth's Chris Steak House maybe or something like that Here's Day Dennis Prager by that. Same fireside vowing to pursue his rights his God given rights as an American to infect other people or become infected himself and then go on to infect other people with the corona virus. Anyway didn't say wouldn't wear a mask wouldn't wear a mask outdoors. That's that's that's absurd. I take walks outside my house and I am am. I am alone and there is i. This is a real tension in life. We have to be law abiding. But if you're to law-abiding when when bad things happen you don't want people law-abiding the best people in Germany in the thirties didn't obey the law. The best people in the Soviet Union from one thousand nine hundred seventeen to two nine thousand nine hundred eighty nine did not obey the law. It's a very tough question. What about by the way? What about all the states that make or cities that makes sanctuary cities and violate American law by doing so with regard to illegal immigrants? Did you ever ask them that question? Am I dare say? That's a much bigger deal about violating the law than weather. I wear a mask taking a walk alone indoors. If I go into a grocery store I will. Of course I'll wear a mask because I'm near people it's it's indoors and I I understand. I can't get in if you know I'm not. I'm not going to raise an issue with a store. I totally get it. But for for people jogging walking alone taking a walk with their with their wife or their kids. That's absurd and there's a certain level I certainly I mean you talk about absurd like we. He's talking about the moral character that's involved in his decision. I wear it when I'm indoors when I'm around other people but I'm not gonNA wear one when I'm not around other people. Well I mean who's going to know that if there's no other people around who's going to know like this is all so performance and he's so full of crap like don't wear it outside when you're around other people show some balls at least all you're doing is saying like in the privacy of my own existence if there's no one around. I'm not going to have a mask. Well you know what the no one cares full. Yeah the people who stood up against the Nazis. You know in their bathroom there. Showering where the Breeze Walmart. Oh I'm not going to. This prohibition about ragging on Hitler Oh no when I'm at my shower all alone and I got shower on and maybe the radio. I'm GonNa just really lay into this guy because I'm just like Rosa Parks. Let's play this. I will not bend to when I prepare to take the consequences anyway. Civil disobedience in the United States has a very very a very noble history. Right Rosa Parks wouldn't sit in the back of a bus because the disgusting law of blacks to sit in the back of the bus in some southern cities in the United States. Should she have obeyed the law? There you have it. He is the Modern Day Rosa parks when he goes out for a walk with his family alone. He's going to be like Rosa Parks. But of course if there's anybody around to see that he's doing that then he's not alone anymore and he's just you know he's just creating an environment in which people in fact. I mean I could tell you like you know in more rural areas. There's a lot of people go around. They don't wear masks and they They're just like I'm not going to get it while Do It's not about you getting a hole. It's about you having it and maybe giving it to other people. It's it is like this photo much. She's Mo and I noticed for the most part for the most part it's men and it's It is it is it is. It's it's ridiculous it is. It's it's just so absurd Yourself the protagonists of history at every Morris like John Galt. What does that? What does that guy the from from? Yeah I'm called. I'm called on this. I mean. Do they know that. The masks are more designed to protect others than to protect themselves Jamie. That cannot compute in their Bryn. I don't know other reasons someone mask it's got to be a selfish thing. We're we're Brennan. Where are we on this? Because we're going to. I think what we're GONNA do is we're GONNA. We're GONNA get some masks that print out that. Have on there that checklist. Vakhin saying some derivation of that were mass protests me my mass protects you because like look you know you want to say that to them like Hey. I get the fact that you think that you're invincible. And you're not GonNa get it maybe you are but That's not what this is about and You know I I gotTa admit that like I'm not going up to two people In saying that them when I see it but if I had a mask at it and we may do that the other thing to say because we live in the number one please stay on earth is that we need to stop seeing cops harass people. That don't have the only reason a cop should be going up. Somebody without a mast is to give them a map is to give them one. Yes is to give them one. It's absurd it's absurd. I love the visual of Resistance to You know unjust laws of America from Harriet Tubman to Rosa Parks to Dennis Prager. Not Wearing a mask. When he's walking around a love is we're where's where's You know I would is prager GONNA say like. Oh and incidentally this whole thing about shoplifting. Right Dad that law that we know of course not property Uber All lace but when it comes to actually like a public health that they wear a Rosa parks situation. I love the appropriation of my body. My choice that we've seen on certain science because it's not just your body dude. It's a lot of other people's bodies to and that's not your choice. Our bodies more choice for the whole point is like even not even like it's not even logically coherent within their own philosophy. Which is you know my mom the rights for me to push my hand. Stop at your nose while I got news for you chief the crap coming out of your mouth. That's what we're worried about. And it's not your hand but it is your breath and it is your droplets and it is your allies germs. That can reach more than six feet. So where a mask and that is basically like you not punching me in the nose. The Germans could go in your nose. And here's another guy who's very worried about this very worrying about this overreach this idea that somehow our government could be in charge of public policy like Tucker Carlson on and I want to see Tucker Carlson. Go and enjoy his stake. Wherever's eating or whatever he's eating without let's just do this for like five months Tucker. Carlson gets to eat food. That is not regulated by any Governmental Authority. He's just GonNa go ahead and all his food and for his kids and for his family. Just no government regulation so that he doesn't have to be living under the yoke of oppression. Wait a second. Wasn't this all supposed to be about a public health? Emergency the latest epidemiology science. That was last month. It's now about quote a better life. People in power abused their power. That may be the lesson here. The arrival of terrifying new virus from China gave our leaders more power than anyone has had in the history of this country. Well I don't know the civil war. I think there was a quite a bit of power. I think During World War Two when we rounded up people and put them into camps. I don't know if he's still Buddies WITH MICHELLE. Malkin that to me seems to be a fairly extreme Invocation of power or When we're putting kids in camps Just because they don't have a US passport that seems to be also to exercise of power or when we have police departments confiscating stuff. Because they suspect that you might have purchased it with drug money. That seems like a lot of power or the fact that we're locking up huge numbers of of of black people or or just frisking them because they're walking around that seems also to be a huge exercise of power. We pull up the VIDEOS THAT TUCKER. Carlson did on all of those incidents man man. I'm having trouble finding those right now. Well these people lead to be aggrieved about something you see it like when they're winning when they're in charge they've got stuff like the war on Christmas because their politics function when the second one. The second wave hits. It's all going to be about the war on when we get into the fall. It's all going to be about the Christmas for these people hadn't even thought about that. Tigray tastes that tastes. Great together right. Unbelievable here is here's Donald Trump at his His White House show where he finds out that the director of National Intelligence Basically had a finding that surprise this is not a bio weapon developed by the Chinese and Of course that's problematic because you know that runs contrary to all of his marketing that he's been doing and It's you know part of the reason. Why Diamond Silk are not around anymore to reinforce This This conspiracy theory but he really wants to go on and apparently these guys so on top of stuff. He wasn't aware that his own director of National Intelligence Commented on this put out a statement formation where this virus originated the director of National Intelligence. Today put out a statement saying that they believe it was naturally occurring was not manmade. But who is that? The Office of the Director of national in particular who is the mandate there was a statement that the window the nation so we'll be registered national intelligence. We're like now. I do think it's meant you'd have to tell me who specifically who made the statement. The statement was just put out under the office. I mean I haven't seen the like I haven't seen the question I had was have you seen. Can you believe this guy? First of all he has no idea of how our Our how our DNA works. It is Essentially all The the the the intelligence runs through the office of the Director of National Intelligence. He appointed the director of National Diligence. I assume it's just a a a nominee they're gonNA put Radcliffe in there. Who is the one? Who's WHO's the acting guy now. Radcliffe is no lunatic. Who we saw in some of the The impeachment hearings but they have some acting guy there who probably wanted to get it out the door because he knew that Radcliffe. Who's coming in and is afraid of him a basically making up lies but if you're trump does the agency determined it. It's I I isn't it Grenell. That's running the yeah. I heard Germany. Yeah is trump implying that the Chinese government created this fire in a lab to spread communism. Or something yes communism. I don't know maybe who knows what it is just a week in us. Get on the trade deals or undercut my copyrights. Let's take a couple of phone calls. And then we start to wrap this week up. Jamie. Do you have a favorite number. You'd like to start with. Let's do this eight one. Oh same. Yeah who's this way conference? Matthew from Michigan Matthew from Michigan. What's on your mind grandma Oh many many house just going to ask you what do you. What do you think is GonNa Happen? Down the road here. I know Kinda weird trying to look into a crystal ball with Fox News and everything making everything worse all the time. I don't know what two or three years down the road. What do you think I'm about your age? I daughter worked in a post office. I'm walking mail route. Route right now and I don't know man it. Don't look good for this country. I mean I don't know what to say down the road you know I mean I I imagine. It didn't look so great in the eighteen sixties. Either right yeah and You know there's definitely been periods where it doesn't look good but I I I honestly like I I. I HAVE NO IDEA. I if if someone was to come from the future and just go like yeah by August. The aliens attacked and then The Democratic nominee Oprah Winfrey. She was able to deal with them. After they accidentally you know Annihilated third of the planet's population she was able to reason with them and based on that she was elected president. I would say like okay. Yeah I that like I'm like I. I don't know what to tell you all I can tell you. Is that the outcome Sam. Just throw out scenarios now. I know silly kind of silly but the I kind of want to ask you. Because you're pretty literally savvy. I've been listening to your show now at three years. And you've got a really good insight on the politics of all this I. I'm learning a lot for you. Guys but I duNNO I. They want this is their chance to close the post office. I know it I let me let me tell you this I think what the debt with the Republicans do much better than Democrats and I. I have a couple of different theories as to why the Democrats Do this partly. I think because they Represent different interests than I want them to represent or that we assume they do or incompetence or some measure of of both that influence each other. But what the Republicans do is they stake out. Positions that are extreme. So that when they negotiate They are looking like they're giving ground so when the post office gets its funding. I would not be surprised to see that the The way what do you ask me is undercut in some fashion or pensions? Pensions are undercut. Or there is some type of You know Privatization or that like there's a presidential board that operates a you know there's there's GonNa be something that is going to be. Look this is a long-term project for them. They wanted to go after and post office for decades and decades and decades and everything that they're doing now is a function of what they did fifteen years ago in two thousand six. I mean you know this and so They they are very good at like my job. Mitch McConnell looks at his job and he's like my job is to push the ball a little bit forward and he so aggressive right now that he's like you know. Mcconnell wants to go down in the hall of fame which is I. Got A hundred and eighty judges in. I'M GONNA get this two hundred two fifty right by You know by the time. Anyone out there There's a little essay that's free. Pdf Written in nineteen ninety four called the capitalist road to communism very interesting about you be I someone in I think in Norway. They wrote it Back in ninety courts really interesting. It's like eight pages but Check that out. Also racist also written a similar things. I think I'm sorry. What's the name Peter Phrase a e? Yeah he's written a piece with simpler thesis for Jackson and he sort of expanded a little bit in his book for Futures. I find it a super interesting idea. I'm GONNA check that I have some criticisms. Go to it. Yeah I know I know same as it's just it's it's It's interesting how it feels like an ancient textile nineteen ninety-four like last millennium. Oh my goodness they were talking about that back then. Let's get to your point Alex. Yeah Yeah Okay so All right so introduced you. Guy Named John pilger maybe heard of kind of like the Australian version of trump's And He published a book called the new rulers of the world and written to publish two thousand fifteen and there the name hunter by them shows up and So to any Democrats Republican out there listening. Pretty take notes. That double hates me. You take notes Let me go and get that quote for you here. Says above all they want Ukraine's mighty neighbour Russia remember. We're talking about Hunter Biden in the corruption there. They want this this long game here. They want to balkanize or dismember. Russia and exploit the greatest source of natural gas as the Arctic ice melts. They want control of Arctic Ocean and its energy rish riches and Russia's long Arctic land border there man in Moscow used to be. Boris Yeltsin a drunk who ended his country's economy west his successor Putin has reestablished Russia as a sovereign nation. That is his crime. Of course. I'm not a Putin fan but at the same time you kind of I don't know it's very interesting to see how the whole Biden The long the long game that plays out. And all this in pilgrim goes on to quote hywel Williams who said it's a Nice Inconvenient Myth that Liberals are peacemakers and conservatives the warmongers but the imperialism of the liberal way may be more dangerous because of its open ended nature its conviction that it represents a superior form of life and Sam I'm GonNa send you scream play. Probably by the end of the pen on the vaccine comes out you're going to be the young Noam Chomsky. Oh all right bio pic talking. Thank you I appreciate that. Let me know if gets off the ground. I appreciate the call. Thanks for listening. Thanks let's go to the phones Eight four seven conference at eight four seven. Erica who's this? Where you calling from Josh Josh from Chicago Josh? I hope you're saying safe. We don't have much time. I'm doing good how are you amy? Hey I just wanted to talk about the Biden thing. the accusation I think the thing that is was really disgusting to see was like a like seeing all these people who I've admired. They favors in the past. Basically doing their Lindsey Graham impressions of like what the Republican Party did under. Dr Ford Our with Dr Ford but like I also think this brings up a larger problem and that the next time. Republicans run someone who has credible sexual assault allegations against them. Democratic Party has lost the moral high ground to like actually have an investigation Like I agreed with the Franken thing largely because that's what actually one of the things that helped defeat. Roy Moore was that at least the Democrats look like they had a moral high ground in this in that case and the Democrats have kind of just lost that And like I obviously know that Bernie won't get unlikely burning get the nomination but it's actually pretty damaging for them to like run Biden and there's there's a lot of risk Here especially with like the future of Whether Greece next time there of akin agreeing run it. I think I look. I think the calculation has been made by not just the democratic establishment by by broadly. Speaking like I mean maybe sang societies too broad but broadly speaking that donald trump they didn't nobody carry not enough people cared about Donald Trump. You know what what was just added like obvious about Donald Trump in this regard was not enough to keep him out of the White House. Appreciate the call. Josh gotTa Jump I. The Democrats lost the moral high ground. Along time ago. You look at what happened with Anita Hill Biden was directly involved in that. Look at what happened with Bill. Clinton they never had the moral high ground to begin with But I doubt that it's GonNa make a difference in the grand scheme of things because like we've been talking about people accept the world as it is and they're like what are we supposed to do about it. Trump is worse so we're GonNa vote for Biden and that's that's what we're looking at right now. Yeah well trump is appreciate the. That's it I'm sorry. Callers can't can't do more today on calls I've got I've got a child rearing duties Stary me directly in the face. Yes I think. That is the the the the problem. Donald Trump is. I think so much more particularly in the context of Corona virus. It'd be a very different situation right now. If we were not all in lockdown and a pandemic I mean if this was I don't think I think sanders would still be in the race as of a week or two ago and I think it would be a very different situation but not only do we not habit on that side of the ledger. Terms of what to receive a swan with the other side of the ledger? Is that the what we're going through now? This pandemic as also revealed you know like I I. I think I think you were here when I read the Gosh now I can't even remember the end with auto. What's that a certain Shoot I can't remember his name now. what are you talking about from Left Business Observer with N? Woods piece about you know saying like it is self evident that even a neoliberal stooge like Joe Biden or whomever would not have left us this open to a pandemic in the way that Donald Trump has and you know at the end of the day. It's like we talk about a miseration what this is going to leave. This is going to set us back in a in a in a lot of ways less we get super lucky and there can be some type of shift here but the the statement. Donald trump is that much worse than Joe. Biden has never been more true on that end of the ledger and on the other end of the ledger. In terms of like the ability to to deal with. This is less than it would be. If this wasn't happening in terms of this pandemic and I. I think that we're going to pay a price for this. Even if Joe Biden get past this and gets elected Donald trump goes away. We'RE GONNA pay a price for as society for for Joe Biden moving forward. It's not gonNA be as big of a price as it would be Down Trump wins. But yeah it is it's incredibly demoralizing. Goodson crap show but folks we will persevere or endeavour to persevere. I guess Jamie stay safe this weekend. Matt Brendan Stay Safe This weekend. You folks out there stay safe this weekend. We will see you on Monday. That goes through to get to Wall I'm going Scott the slaying. The option to get all the breaks Just the one.

The make this world that makes this place to make this community the make this society a better place to be. We've got a lot of things to talk about men in the world of sport today. I want to tackle some college football. I'm gonna get into some nba getting some nfl. Able wanna talk about even though the program. We've hit absolute rock. Bottom in the patrick ewing era even at the end of the program at the end of the podcast. I even want to get down and talk about what's going down with georgetown basketball team. They lost on tuesday. The navy seventy sixty two. I've got my thoughts and feelings about that so well that but those are the things that are going to be speaking about today on the podcast. But i want to begin with trait news in the nba. Russell westbrook traded to the washington wizards from the houston rockets for john wall and future first round draft. Pick houston that is the most paramount future first round draft pick protection on the first round. Pick that the wizards traded to houston and the westbrook for wall deal. They decided to cash it in in the twenty twenty Twenty twenty three. Nba draft pick is lottery protected. Twenty twenty four the pick. His top twelve protected. The twenty twenty-five pick is top ten protected and then if they want to wait if you want to wait all the way to twenty twenty six to pick his top aide protected then becomes two second rounders now. Jonathan fagin of the houston chronicle. He reported that westbrook wanted to go elsewhere so we can be himself on the floor man. Exactly what does that mean. what is he talking about. Clarify define a little bit more when he speaks about he wants to quote unquote be- himself. Are we talking about the wessel russell. Westbrook that won the where he averaged a triple double. Is that the himself. He wants to be at so that was income through the door and being that effective. I would like to see the be himself. Russell westbrook be the guy that the second year. When he was with paul george where george with the guy that was getting most of the shadow attempts that i wouldn't say was taking a backseat. But you know. He was starting to give more and more of the spotlight to paul george in terms of the acknowledgement that. Hey you know what. We're going to have the team that we want to have the best team that we can be. you know. i've got to be more than just sharing with paul george to give him a little bit more in terms of responsibility at least on offense with the oklahoma city thunder so with him going from houston with james harden and now moving over to play with bradley beal with the team. Tommy sheppard titley owns the such making a point with trade. That bradley beal is going to be the center piece. That bradley beal that franchise guy the bradley beal is going to be the russell. Westbrook of the washington wizards that Brooklyn no his role on a team in terms of saying look you know when everything is all said and done this state. The oklahoma city thunder the way. I had it for a couple of years especially after kevin durant left. This is bradley. Beal's team and i have to let him grow in that responsibility for for ever long. The bill was broke. Tear them is there hopefully for two or three years. But we'll see we'll see it was also reported. That houston was talked with the wizards about the potential westbrook for wall swap last month but was seeking more at a more assets which means that the two people the two players in principle were agree to wolman westbrook but it was just a matter of i guess the rockets i came out with the well. We need a first round. Pick in the whitson can be shepherd. Says it'll be. He's on manner grunfeld. Line here okay. Speaking new day new era new james. You know this is a this is going to be something else. But what sources told. Cnn was reported by age. Awards analogy that the gm. For the whiz tommy sheppard houston gm raphael stone. Had who hadn't talked two weeks on the deal connected once they afternoon and done deal. The deal was done within a few hours so basically once again. This wasn't the the goal where they were. Haggling wrangling over. What player should be traded or even the foundation of trade being west broken wall. That was there. But there wasn't something where you know you throw in this guy or you throw in that guy or the salaries were so are so similar a basically the same that there wasn't any need for to any need for any of the gm stewart talk about another player. Maybe bring another team to make the contracts amid the money right so it was just a matter of haggling over you know. What else are we going to give up. And finally it came to the came to the point where the wisdom okay. We'll throw in that future first round pick in. No you also have to give a shepherd. Kudos the fact that it is lottery protected because even what was broke. I don't think that the wizards be anywhere near championship material. Get to that a little bit later on. So westbrook is going to be reunited with former oklahoma city coach. Scott brooks spent seven years as a player and coach together in oklahoma city. In fact westbrook that was one of the main teams when westbrook remember came out earlier before training camp starting on was talking about. i wanted to be traded. And then i don't wanna play for houston anymore and james harden was talking about. He doesn't wanna play for houston anymore. He wants to be traded to the new jersey nets in the organization for houston came back and said hey you know what. We don't mind going into training camp on comfortable. I mean you got to come into training camp moping pouting throwing an attitude and everything that's fine. You can go ahead and do that. But we're not going to bail out to your whims. So far with james harden the rockies organization has done that with what was westbrook who they get bigger the less than less important player on that team said yes time for him to go and again as i mentioned before was one of the destinations that he wanted to go to the main. Destination was the washington wizards again because they thought a plane with bradley. Beal and being reunited with scott brooks the coach who had the most success to we had the most success with When he was playing for the oklahoma city thunder. So i'm on a memo saying i mean. How many players do you know out there. Who actually wanna play for the washington wizards who weren't drafted by that team. I mean no free agents are going to be going to washington terms of something of substance. I guess four community like the washington wizards russell westbrook brinson cachet. He'll bring some eyeballs. He'll bring some attention quite sure. They'll be a little spike in season. Tickets in terms of whenever they start bringing fans back into the arena. So they'll be lucky. Some more interest in dc with the wizards than there was in the last couple of years. Now one of the reasons why. The interest in the whizz went down the drain. So much was because a the team. Stunk out loud and be because john wall. The main player was in playing but now the gives washington a little foothold in the community. The football team stinks. I don't care what their record is in terms of where they are in the nfc least. The baseball team had a disappointing season. Hockey in dc is hockey. Georgetown stinks maryland. Pretty good insignificant. The wnba is the wnba. So i mean basically in dc or the dc area the area. Which is prince george's county moved gumri. County arundel county fairfax virginia. Northern virginia is the football team. And then after that. Who's ever who's ever up and down as far as the interest in sports in the dc area so at least this gives the league's acquisition at least seeing russell. Westbrook a washington wizards uniform as gonna make them better than they've been for the last couple of years and basically it's gonna draw a little bit more interest. So i mean you know let's not let's not sit here talk russell westbrook. Now we've but me. I'm not gonna sit here and talk about russell. Westbrook is washed up. He's done or he the shell of his former self. I mean you gotta remember last season. He was thirteen mold. Nba his only season with houston averaging twenty seven points. Eight rebounds seven assists per game. And he's thirty two years old and again everything that hovers russell westbrook mainly has to do with that contract. Russell westbrook playing a decent contract. Well then i would be much more. Hit parade type of trade for the washington wizards but will the company's russell westbrook the fact that he's going to be making one hundred and thirty three million dollars over the final three seasons of his contract with the player option for the final year so unlike john wall who hadn't played at all for the last two years because of injury he's still he's still old run three years one hundred thirty two million dollars on his contract at least with westbrook for the short term. We've got the better player and really what's the difference between wall westbrook figuring and they're both making the same amount of money so either way. The woods still weren't going to have less Less avenue or more flexibility. Whatever to make trades or rearrange the team or to do whatever and also because of the issues that existed between bradley. Beal in john wall. I was westbrook. Who despite the fact that he can be a little prickly he could be a little ornery he could be a little Let me say black manage of toward the media and such the teammates. It you know. Obviously he didn't get along with a james harden we've seen the beef with him and kevin durant when cagey decided to leave. Oklahoma city and go to golden state in the region were participating with because well you know he couldn't get along with westbrook because what brooks shot too much and he was ball hogging in that type of thing so that deal never went down. Because that's so that implied that russell westbrook was a band teammate. But there has been a lot of players who have played with russell westbrook guy doug mcdermott and the doc rivers kid Did a lot of players out there who talk rave about the type of team mate that russell westbrook is and if just speaking about the washington wizards right now. You had such guys as a rule tomorrow. Who's learning troy brown junior. Who's learning davis bertans. Who still learning the number one draft pick deadly denny avia who's gonna be a rookie straight from israel new culture new land new country all those type of things. I think in situations like that russell. Westbrook can be a major asset as a team. Victor deepal rate about how much you learn from russell westbrook the one year that he played with him in oklahoma city and how seeing his work ethic and seeing how we conducted themselves as teammate. He took those skills and he took that experience within the indiana and turned out. You know it turned out that over depot had the best year of his nba career and he gave a lot of the reason for that to playing with russell. Westbrook so and this situation. I think what's brooklyn really be an asset and you can also take bradley beal russell. Westbrook has been that guy russell. Westbrook has been the franchise player russell. Westbrook has been the face of the franchise. Something that bradley beal right now is learning how to do. There's another situation where westbrook being attitude. That team could be a positive. So yeah the one hundred thirty three million dollars for a guy thirty two years old. Who was a shell of his former self in the playoffs to win. This season reopened this past season. He had oblivious surgery or he has issues and the also was dealing with covert discard covert. So he came back so yeah. He wanted the same player that he was earlier in the season or midway through the season where she used in office because of the three point shooting them because of the way the space the floor allow russell westbrook to be sort of like a mini honest in terms of his ability to take the ball to the hoop and be aggressive. Score and sit above is because he finally skewed going ahead and shooting six three pointers a game coach. Mike d'antoni to the ball to the fucking who you know we're gonna we're gonna give you that i sell and for the left elbow extended right elbow extended. Just take it to the hoop and forced her will and do some things in during that time. Westbrook played great. So we'll see we'll see what happens. Because of the unique way that the houston rockets played. Think what brokers gonna have the lanes in the avenues to do what he was doing now playing with the whiz. But hey with davos bretons in the lineup. In on the floor hit with hit three-point shooting in the way that he could stretch the floor bradley beal within three point shooting shooting scoring the way that he can stretch the florida be able opportunities for russell westbrook to do what he does best if he can if he can just kinda calmed himself down from jacking up too many threes but again last season with houston twenty. Seven points eight rebounds seven assists. That sounds pretty good for me so here on world of sports i'm your host of wonderwall glad that you could be with us. What what does this mean. Now for westbrook in the wizards because short-term against the wizards to get better russ brooke better player john wall. He'll work better with bradley. Beal michael lee of the washington post. He tweeted that again. Westbrook and dc. That was a preferred destination intrigued about playing with bradley. Beal excited to With scott brooks you know bradley. Beal stifled play personality. Better suited for west brockton hardens. I believe because unlike up when russell westbrook half the ball. Dc bradley will be actually tried to do some things other than just stand in the corner and watch same thing that chris. Paul had a situation with in houston with james harden wear. When harden wasn't in the plate. You know but being dominated is still heavy as houston rockets. Offense was and how the ball dahmer james harden was or when he gave up the ball with chris. Paul chris paul called plays and james harden is about thirty five feet away from the basket watching and taking a taking a break and chris paul zane man. What the fuck are you doing. How the hell we're gonna score here do something getting play grunting action. Hell i don't know you might even get the ball to score. But that was a contentious point between harden and chris paul that when the play wasn't designed for james harden on offense he just kind of checked out and russell westbrook was candlelight. The same way. I mean it was like you know. James harden didn't have the ball. You didn't feel like playing offense. So both were some of the things that drove a wedge from the working relationship. Not only with chris. Paul and james harden but also. What's russell westbrook and james. So now the whiz you don't have to have that problem when westbrook has the ball and he's running plays and doing some things bradley beal. The best player on the whiz will actually be an actual participant. Even if the play is not being run for bradley beal the place not designed to get the ball. The bradley beal with eight on the shot clock had him. I so when and try to score that way. So i think in that situation is going to be much better but basically what does move is for for washington. They're just trying to make the playoffs and convince bradley. Beal to sign a long term deal when everything is all said and done so now. You have the whizz. Let me take this lineup. Here for the wizards you've got westbrook at the point bradley beal shooting guard really hot to more second year guy from gonzaga. He's gonna be at the small forward power. For whatever forward deva's burt towns the free agent acquisition a year ago from the san antonio spills he's going to be near the forward and then thomas bryant a guy who plays hard undersized center what was really under size of the nba these days bryant six nine six ten alabama indiana get hustles rebounds. Well good energy guy. So that looks like that's going to be the Watching towards your starting five westbrook hockey maura. Batons thomas bryant. Then you've got choi brown junior robin lopez than the via coming off the bench. I don't know i. I have no idea. I haven't been there. Lead practicing for the washington wizards haven't been able to smoke. Speak to south. Scott brooks wasn't in any of their meetings so this is just a guestimation on the starting five and the rotation will be but if you take a look at that and you take a look at that team necessarily playoff. Continue her west reveal. I mean that's going to be the foundation. That's what they're going to try to build around but take eastern conference. The milwaukee bucks miami heat boston celtics philadelphia seventy sixers. They got an upgraded coach. Doc rivers brooklyn going to have kyrie katie returning toronto still gonna toronto atlanta. They made some nice moves. Abor drafted pretty. Well they're going to be expected to make the playoffs lloyd price. I believe the state should be getting a little bit warm two disappointing years in atlanta as the head coach trae young. Hopefully he's learned how to play a little bit more defense and learn how to tailor made his game to something more than just an an one tape. So we'll see and you still have indiana. They're in somewhat of a transition going from a coach like dick mcmillan. Who was more ground and pound. Grit and grime. Lloyd up a memphis grizzlies type of thing with a landau hollis at the coach. Now they got rid of dick mcmillan houston rockets. Last year rubbed the eastern conference. Which means shooter but sheila bungee three. And how and high temple will everything like that. And i'm saying to myself you're you didn't make any offseason moves to fit that style of play in you still have two big men miles turner in Bonus rv bonuses kid. The demise of the kids day starts with a d. But does this a bonus kids. They're still two guys at the power forward and center position who are far front speedsters. And we don't know about victor. Ola depot has he recovered fully from the Injury that kept him out that That hampered him so much last season we'll see we'll see malcolm brogdon is going to be your point girl. I mean malcolm brogdon and not will be would call speedy so the transition that's going to be made from changing your style of play. Schematic require some type of personnel changes. Because the team in indiana has now then ain't gonna be happening but still you're talking about a guy. Tj warren who. I suspect now is going to be having. It's gonna be given the green light to score an average of twenty three to twenty five points a game and so i think indiana team that made the playoffs the last couple of years. I think those guys are going to be in there. Also so if you take a look at the top eight teams in the eastern conference in no particular order with starting milwaukee. Miami boston brooklyn philadelphia. Toronto atlanta indiana that means the main competition for the wiz is gonna be teamed like indiana atlanta orlando. Those are going to be the team's that'll be fighting for that seven eight nights spot in the nba playoffs in the eastern conference teams by new york. Cleveland chicago charlotte detroit. This still going to remain the worst teams in the conference. So that's the move. Move basically the washington. Wizards are building around bradley. Beal to sneak into the playoffs where they can get blasted by the milwaukee bucks or the boston celtics. And that's what the book tells. Van base hero windows rolled the sports host win the war. So glad you could be with us windows world sports. The podcast that you know. Basically the organization is more interested in being mediocre. Too good rather than tearing it down and trying to rebuil- from scratch. I would love to see. We know what the consequences were. If ernie grunfeld did that. Grenfell i came into the position of general manager at the wizards. The wizards were just drowning in bad contracts and bad players and bad everything so it on grunfeld do the good thing that he did was he got rid of a lotta the bad contracts and guys. You couldn't play. The bad part is he. Got rid of those guys and brought and other guys who had bad contracts and couldn't play in was an absolutely horrific drafter if we can go back and take a look at your beverly over over klay thompson. We go ahead and take a look at trading away for randy foye and mike miller instead of drafting. It's an undrafted steph curry and we can go on and on and on about the absolute dumpster fire the absolute horrific d minus f miters performance at the gm literally. Grunfeld gave us for the washington wizards in his gm position. Man should have been fire five years before he actually got fired. But this is water under the bridge but would like to see. What tommy sheppard. Who when he was assistant. Gm a guy who the you know. Leak officials and everybody else was saying. Hey when the wizards finally wake up when tetley owners is finally decided to wake up and be serious about his basketball team. You get rid grunfeld. That he doesn't have to go ahead and look for a high price guy or some guy the organization they have a guy tommy sheppard. Who can get the job done in that situation. So i would like to see. Tommy sheppard have the situation where he needs to build from scratch now again he was talking about. No no no no no. I'm going to go ahead and we're going to go around bradley. Beal than the widgets have turned a deaf ear on all the overtures to go ahead and from other team to try to get bradley. Beal i mean you take a look at someone like the golden state warriors especially when klay thompson went down. How beautiful that have been for those for that team the go-ahead make trade for bradley beal especially with those guys holding the number two draft pick There's other teams that also made overtures in terms of trying to get bradley beal but the wizards were like no no. I don't know if that was a tommy sheppard call. I'm quite sure about the titley. Yomas call in terms of no way shape or form. Are we trading bradley. Beal because we did that means. We're telling the fan base that we're giving up. No no no no. No that means you guys are trying to start over in another love to see the trade with made for bradley beal. We acquired draft picks and some young talented such senator at kent lake. Sam presi did with the oma city thunder when he first went away and he traded russell westbrook then. He traded chris. Paul and then in between trade paul george you see all. The jubilation of draft picks that the oklahoma city thunder have and they have a young guy that can build around and say guilty. It's alexander. I would love to see the wizards. Do what the new orleans pelicans do. When they traded away anthony davis and david griffin the gm. Of the pelicans gathered boatload First round draft picks and set the team up for you know the great opportunity to build a really good team. David griffin already being the architect of a team that will the championship was in cleveland. With lebron tyree and kevin love and such so i would have loved to have seen the washington bridge. Do the same thing now. Bradley beal wasn't going to get the same hall of draft picks as the Anthony davis but you try to tell me what the milwaukee bucks paid to get. Drew holiday that the wizards couldn't have gotten something even better for a better player who's younger than What the new orleans. Pelicans got just wish will have done that. But that's all the westbrook craters telling me that. Hey we're just gonna go ahead and we're just going to try to make the playoffs. Well what the big fucking deal making a playoff this year. A seventh or eighth seen. We're not as good as milwaukee. We're not as good as miami. We're not as good as boston. We're not as good as toronto. You'll tell them about long-term. Toronto has better players toronto. The butter upper management boston. The same thing you have. Jason tatum jaylen brown. You have daddy aimed at the helm at a better organization. That's a better structure that better foundation for future success. You have the best player in the walking in the nba. Arguably outside of the bron james and youngest addenda kupu miami you have that culture with pat riley erik. Spoelstra admitted the owner of that team. You have that solid foundation. Jimmy butler who still under prime along was an emerging superstar and bam on a value on a really good player in tanner euro. So you know that organization is going to be around for a while and be a player for championship for a long time. And you're talking about a market like miami. That's a free agent destination for the top tier free agents another obstacle that the wizards are going to have to overcome. The best thing. That you can do is go ahead and build around bradley beal by trading for russell westbrook again for short term. All right. it'll get a little buzz all right but as before several times in a year where it's not gonna be anybody understand or there's going to be few people in the stands drink be capacity and you know that the teams in the nba going to be losing money. Because the fact there won't be any by stands. And you're the wizards and you'll try to stink. What better time to start rebuilding process by sterling at ground zero. The they have it in the league in a ton period in the league with nobody can see you live play so sticking out loud so starting the rebuilding process now is not going to really affect you because you wouldn't have anybody in the stands at the beginning of the season to begin with so that's my only deal man. We should go ahead and try to make that deal trade bradley beal get some picks and start building around them. In tommy sheppard i trust but we didn't. We didn't do that bradley. Beal's a good player. Bradley beal's an all star bradley beal. Hm not putting them top ten definitely not put them up in Let's talk about now for the next three to four years bradley. Beal the somewhere between top. What do you think around eighteen to twenty five best players in the game. I bet i definitely not topped is. He's not making any of the all. Nba teams. i think he's i mean so if you're not if you're saying he's not making any of these three all nba teams. You're talking about fifteen players. So the he three spots away from being a player who's good enough to be on an nba team. That's pretty damn good. But you know what. That's not a player. Who could be a franchise player on the team that will championship bradley. Beal is not that guy. He's not lebron. He's not he's not staff he's not kevin durant before the injury just not players much better than bradley beal who have not won championships at the centerpiece of their team. Jaanus the best player in the east without question our top two or three player in the game right now. He hasn't won a championship yet. Jimmy butler hasn't won a championship. James harden who want an mvp has not won a championship. damian lillard. Mr clutch has not won an nba championship. One of the best players in the game. I know still young. He's only going into third season but the team. That is constructed around luca. He ain't winning a championship and he. Here's the guy who finished third and the mvp voting. Anthony davis had to go from new orleans to wa l. a. team lebron the willow championship. He couldn't do it by himself as being the focal point. As being the franchise guy on the team. Jason tatum couldn't do it chris. Paul couldn't do it. What makes people think. Then bradley beal. What makes tommy sheppard thing. What makes ten leona think that bradley beal is going to be that guy within the next three years. You're going to be putting in the russell westbrook and still have batons. And how'd you moron troy junior brown junior those guys. That's supposed to be a team that's going to compete with milwaukee. That's going to be a team. That's going to be able to compete with miami or a boston or philadelphia with embiid and simmons and those guys in the way that they've reconstructed their team to add a little bit of shooting. The wizards are going to be able to deal with that for the next three years. It bradley beal. If you're just on the team that's gonna be you know. They're their ceiling is making the playoffs and getting bounced in the first round. It going to entice you to stay. Now you've given up willing willingly draft picks. I dunno i dunno bradley. Beal swears he loved. Dc bradley beal swears he wants to stay long. Term washington bradley. Beal says all the right things. But i wonder if someone's gonna get the bradley beal a player an agent a friend. His girlfriend wife wherever his he's in a relationship with say you really want to spend the nex prime of your years your last big contract with this team your best chance to be a guy. The be as foundation piece to winning the championship two competing for a championship with this team. He'll be interesting but again. It sounds like i'm down in doubting the westbrook westbrook trade. I'm not. I'm really not. But still my dealers. He should have broken down. You started started from zero east as you still have traded bradley beal. If you're not going to do that. I mean outside jrue holiday. I guess this is probably the best thing that you can do. The gatt jarwal of the books. So we'll see we'll see looking bills contract here. He's still at three years on his contract. Last one of those the player option thirty seven and thirty seven point two million dollars and now with covet and now with all lost money. We don't know what the salary cap is. Gonna look mike so be likely will choose not to pick up the final year so he can become so we can have the security of a longer deal. So we'll see we'll see. According to what david ultra. This was ridden of the in the atlantic. David aldridge with talking about Wizards thunder leonsis had to make a choice between wall and beal and ultimately decided to stick with bill. Yeah you think he says told altered at the end of the day. This is a ted cole man. You know you're you're an employee so the owner says do what you need to do. The bill of team around bradley beal. That is the michigan given to. Tommy sheppard mission impossible. I love bradley beal. Good player borderline consistent all star. Now a guy you can build your team build a championship around the wizards. I'm telling you man happy. I'm happy that for the first time in a long time that you guys are going to be fighting scratching clone for a playoff spot at the very most. What twenty five percent capacity. Because that's the only at the number that the percentage of vans they could watch the team play whenever we get to that point. We're not gonna go back to one hundred percent capacity. We're not gonna go back like it was before the pandemic head. So the wizards battling and fighting scratching for a number eight number seven playoff spot when everybody followed basketball and dc news that they're gonna get boat. Loaded boat romped. Vote rammed by the milwaukee bucks by the boston celtics or by the toronto raptors. Or by the miami heat that will attend leonsis. What do all right all right man. You the owner but if it was up to me hey man seen some room at the bottom. But the new york knicks. And the chicago bulls in the cleveland cavaliers. Detroit pistons. Because we're gonna start that rebuilding progress la process. We're not going to be down there with y'all forever we're going to get up there quickly especially bam the festival with the nba. Draft being so Rich and talent next season will be sweet if we could. If the wizards could somehow get a number three four five pick in the draft and maybe get themselves a daily green or get themselves a kate killing ham or something like that a lot of these scouts and everybody you're talking about those are the players that are going to be real impact player players if they develop their talent and potential so i would have loved to have been in the position to stink out loud this year and be in a position hopefully with the pingpong balls to get rid of players really start the rebuilding process. But it is what it is. The washington wizards less make the number. Eight seed will westbrook. Beal we can do. It might be being online being migo me away. Wonder wallets wendell role sports. Glad that you could be with us. Capons migos gecas senora singer. Vitas go special dedication. The only reason why. I'm playing that song today today. I was a this podcast today. I did i did. A class is up to the class. A dance class over everything. Is you know at home. So i didn't go over but the school where the high school where i was. Substituting was located is located in extremely heavily populated hispanic area mexican area. Right next to close to las vegas boulevard and main street around. That area's a couple of blocks away from skid row. And i was i've been going there for years. Enjoy the kids. They break every type of stereotype. Like ooh you want to go down there that those kids and those kids are that blah blah blah blah. Those kids are great. I've never had any problem going down to that. School and dealing with those kids never had a behavioral problem. Nobody ever tried to do anything to me or no so nonsense like that so very comfortable going down to the school bag. The school too. so but You know so. I was doing this dance class right in the fact that the school is located in a heavily populated hispanic community about ninety percent of the students who go there are hispanic or mexican. So i'm supposed to be playing all of these songs in terms that they're supposed to be able to this that the other so we got down to the last period today and the teacher had given me some bogus information in terms of what they're supposed to be dancer to i'm guessing so the The little girl on girl down on the On zoom call or google meet linka. Whatever we'll ever it's called like miester to be playing that song. I was like well You know this is what the teacher is supposed to be This is what the teacher sent me. So what do you want me to do. We'll can we you know. Can you play us a song or can we give you a song that we can dance to that. We've been practicing at the other that we really like. Sure why not. I mean you know hey go fort all to get your moving and doing whatever last song of the day anyways where this you guys to log off and do what you need to do. So why not so. They gave me that song. L. to lingo. They were really good really good dancers and that was on a little bit very ignorant when it comes to My knowledge of the music and that culture. But i enjoyed it. And i thank them very much for giving me the opportunity to have a song that i really like. I have no idea what those guys are saying. Because i don't speak spanish lingo. Did it deteriorated deteriorated so that was hours. I had time listening to that song. What role the sports and with those kids get day to day. That's why i'm in a good mood. You know dance class over at the high school dealing with those kids. Good mood today. Dummy dummy sired up one who all the sports. I'm your window wallace. So glad you could be with us speaking before we get to some college football and some nfl. Football speaking about this trade with my beloved washington wizards trading away their. I guess you could say one of their most all the all time most popular athletes. I don't know that you can put him. I no one's ever going to be what's on once on sales the band especially what he did for the then. Washington bullets organization in terms of he was drafted by team. Won the first championship with the team in poland. The previous owner of the washington bullets was a huge basketball guy. I mean this wasn't something basketball. This was when the nba was still a mom and pop. Type of operation. Terms of ownership is concerned. So this wasn't a this wasn't a hobby for a poll and everything so for him to win that championship. That really meant a whole lot to him. So what unsettle brother that championship. And then they became mccolgan and they became a he worked for that organization until the day that he died. So i don't know if anybody is ever going to reach the level of importance and fame in washington franchise you the densify. Most with the washington franchise wizards bullets will ever you want to say Nba franchise like what's on sell. But john wall came awfully close. Gotta remember now just reading about guys. You've done to work for the wizards or for the bullets or from that station. Very few have been light. Homegrown i mean teen seventy eight to one championship. Elvin hayes was drafted by the washington washington. Bullets he was over in a trade. Bobby digits already to championship with the milwaukee bucks mitch. Cup check wasn't that shoot of a player. Tom henderson wasn't that huge of a player. So you know after. The bullets won that championship and then came back the next year to the seattle supersonics in five games. I mean there was some down times. I mean bullets. The bullet fever went from beaten the iceman to they couldn't beat anybody for a long time. And you have you know the situation with the ruling jarrell and rick. Mahorn the bruise brothers. And then you had a rookie dudley and then you know you have guys trying to win championships by just making nicholas. Trades with players passed the prime. That's when they watch them. Bullets bring dan round field from atlanta hawks way past prime. They brought in muslim alone when after a championship with philadelphia able way past his prime. So the woods bullets whatever the organization. The washington basketball organization was going that route for a while. And then you bring such guys. are tom. Google yada and rex chapman the trade. It's been a hodgepodge of bad moves and bad signings and bad players and really not much to cheer for and we went to really bad gm's was until was a horrible gm. John nash was a horrible gm. Bob ferry was. We had a stretch where it will. Bob kerrey unseld company for ferry shit. I don't know whether it's you had three. Gm's in a row that had to be the worst three gm's combined in sports history when you speak about. What's on sell. Bob carey and then john nash and just the buffoonery and just the bad news in the bad draft picks over and over and over again. I remember the year. I believe it was eighty four where we drafted kitty. Green in the first round over moses baloney and then we draft known that we drafted no no multi bogues in the first round and then we will ahead and drafted manute bol so we had the distinction of drafting the shortest player. Maybe a history and then the tallest player and then a history. All in the same drafts and think one year redrafted kennedy green. Six seven four eight fours over. I don't know some dining. Karl malone who turned out to be pretty good basketball player. I mean the The gm position for the washington wizards you can longevity. And the one great thing about the gm position of washington you can stay out loud at the gm. You can be totally incompetent. You can be a total failure and term the building a championship in terms of building a team. That's competitive with the washington basketball organization whether it was poland who brought in michael jordan to be the president of basketball operations and he decided to draft kwami brown with the number one pick and decided to bring in richard hamble richard hamilton already. There he read him off and they went to detroit and won a championship and brought rasheed wallace and he didn't do anything he ultimately wanted. Championship at the detroit pistons. So i mean if you're a gym with the washington basketball team professional basketball team. You can stink out loud and be horrible at your job for for a long time before ownership. Finally wised up and get in gets really your air. So that was the same thing i mean. A lot of for what's on sale was just because of what he did. You know there was a loyalty factor with a policeman. Who has the reason why he was allowed to be so terrible. As a coach. And be terrible as gm bob. Ferry danny ferries kid played here in the dc area. He wanted to mathis so there was a little something with that john. Nash came over from portland. I don't know why they kept him so long but he was ridiculously bad. So it was just been bad. Gm at the badge gm after badge em. So you know when it had fell who. I guess you could say. Really top them. All in terms of the ineptitude of the position that was required to build a championship brought in He drafted john wall not hard. What the number one draft pick year. The wizards won the lottery. And everybody knew what a brain in their head. That john wall was going to be there guys. The wizards drafted jump all them. Even career a real fun career you've been. He'd been the best player for that team. Probably in a couple of decades. So and john wall did a lot for chocolate city. John wall was himself in terms of you know not Hiding hit blackness. Not hiding who. We worked on allen iverson to the game where it might be know. My walk struck my speech. My ways might offend some folks at the lavish age from bouzis. But i'm just gonna be who i am. And when he turned out to be with a really good guy you can look pass. The ignorance are what you thought. Someone of the stature should look like so he did a lot for the community. You didn't lot for children. He was a really a guy who really cared about the washington dc metropolitan area now. He made his offseason home in florida. But still his charitable efforts in dc great. He really embraced the city. This is my town of a basketball player. This is my town so outside of i guess you could say that anybody. On the washington football team i get many with the exception of robert griffin the third the one year that he. Dc as quarterback for the snyder skins. John wall even more than alex ovechkin. What the most popular player athlete in washington. Dc afar professional. Sports are concerned. So this was an easy day. There's really wasn't an easy day. In the all accounts kevin durant and others have been talking than had been raving about how great john wall is looked in working out in the summer. And there's been some clips on twitter of him working on the miami and playing pick ball and any other me. He looks good. Looks good in them videos. But you know we don't guy hadn't played basketball and then be a basketball game in two years. He's coming off an achilles tear. He's coming off some pretty serious injury so this is going to be a guy even when you get the houston. The john wall who we know when love is not going to be that guy. He's not going to be playing seventy two games as the seventy two game season. I would doubt if john wall would get to sixty. He's not gonna be playing back the bags he's not going to be averaging thirty five minutes a game. He's not gonna be evident even closer to thirty minutes a game. So we'll see. We'll see. But i wanna thank. John wall being washington wizards fan for what he did in terms of being the man for the a wizards them back they did make it to the second round they did beat the toronto raptors a couple of years and make the second round. They had a very good playoff with the atlanta hawks when atlanta was number one dusty series. Where paul pierce bahauddin shot at the buzzer and chris. Broussard asked him after the game was over in the hype in fauria of just hitting the shot when crispell sarlos. Did you call bank in paul. Pearson i call game i call gain bitch bitch but you know until you know we got that and walled it. A lot to bring washington back In terms of basketball. Or so we. We thank you very much for that. But he's all his way to houston. We've got russell westbrook. We'll see what happens. We'll see what happens now. What does this mean for houston. Moving forward is james harden only be traded is james harden next to be traded. Is going to be pj tucker and then harden and what about. What about all the kid from indiana. Whose name escapes me right. Now eric gordon you thank you. What about eric gordon. What about these players shootin me building tearing down well what a high ranking source told the pm houston stance on hardens. Not change saying the team hoped to be competitive with him on the roster. The season and does not envision a scenario in which harden would be traded before the opener key phrase there is traded before the opener. And what the rockets would require for them to trade harden. It would mean a package that would clearly potential franchise corner still and massive picks picks package something similar to what anthony davis scott from from when the new orleans. Pelicans traded him to the la lakers and everything that they got similar to what the los angeles clippers had to give up when they themselves. Paul george and as i mentioned before i don't see anybody in the league having a package What the rockets are looking for. A young potential franchise cornerstone. I mean were going to be looking at jason tatum. Boston luka doncic in dallas trae young possibly in atlanta. I mean none of those guys are going to be available. I mean hell jason. Tatum just signed the contract. Max contract ego nowhere so those inattentive if that's the case for houston i'm sorry for james harden spencer dinwiddie doesn't cut it and cares liberte doesn't cut it so your desire to play for the new The brooklyn nets james. If that's what houston is going to be dead set on looks like i don't care how much you pout and moan and groan and not show up for practice and not do interviews and everything like that. Use the beatles. Eight no place. I mean. he's just look as i mentioned before the package you require for milwaukee to get drew holiday. It gave a three first round picks to pick swaps into rotation players. That's true holiday. Who can still be a free agent in the season. So there is no like super-duper one hundred percent guarantee that he will be staying long term with the milwaukee bucks. That's how much do you had to give up the get there. So if that's going to be the case for holiday what do you think hugh toronto asking for one of the best players in the best score. And he'll be right now as i mentioned before another podcast as james harden being the men on your team so far that has got to any championships. Scan them a lot of scoring titles but hell they pairing him. Dwight howard of at the time big term center one of the top players in the nba during that time after the buffalo was kobe and the lakers. That did last. They tried pairing in with chris. Paul that last after two years or three years they try perry russell. Westbrook didn't work after one year. Paul and howard m Westbrook all one out. So i mean what. What's the situation gonna be like with what the situation to be with. James harden and john wall cajon. John wall has a similar game. Chris paul in russell westbrook which means that when he was last last seen playing the best john wall is john wall with the ball in his hands. All the time setting up the office this sheeting the offense that's not conducive to what james harden does now. They have a whole new coaching staff. They have a whole new philosophy in the way the play offense no more shooting forty three game and thirty two pointers a game. No more james harden double dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble shot clock running down double double dribble dribble. Step back three of twenty seven foot. Three pointer think. Stephen silas is going to be running that type of offense for the houston rockets. Number one is james harden going to be receptive to change number two even though james harden said. Yeah man you know. i'm down with I'm down with john wall. My preference is to play with john wall rather than russell westbrook. That's what won't announced. He said on his appearance on a espn's give up my greenberg show so he said yeah. That's that's fine. That's what i'll do all right. Okay exactly don't know what that means and john wall it's going to be a little bit. Tricky in terms of he's gonna be coming back and playing with a unique type of player led james harden again. We have no idea what type of offense houston is going to run. And the john wall. That was the best point guards in the nba. The john wall who was a starter for a couple of years in the all star game from eastern conference that john wall was the walk through the door folks. The player that john wall is really beginning with the player. That houston is giving john wall. We have no fucking idea. But i can tell you one thing. They read john wall while he was in physical prime. Those days are gone even before he got injured in started missing games. The skeleton import reports were of that His speed is starting to slow down again. He had to play basketball here the plate an nba basketball game. Since december twenty sixth of eighteen towards kelly's a year and a half ago now most players come back from an injury like that and twelve months. Kobe bryant did something that came back with. You know mama mentality so you know they also that mama mentality. Kobe was reaching this upper thirty. S mid thirty. Sell but john wallace pather. So who knows who knows ma'am and as mentioned before we was having a difficult time but bone spurs in his in missing significant amount attorney before the achilles injury. He missed a significant amount of time with that before he then towards achilles. So i don't know know russell. John wall biggest advantage prior was his physical gifts his speed with the ball in his hand. No one was going to be able to get Was going to be able to keep up with john. Wall and acceleration is starting to kind of learned the craft of when to Put it in fifth gear and wanted just third gear a fastball. Like a pitcher. I mean you don't have to ninety nine all the time. I mean you can throw a change up. You can throw a curve you fat ninety two when then when the when the count is a three balls and two strikes. Then you throw a heater and pull it down the middle or paid the quarters. John wall starting to do that in terms of learning shifts speeds and moves of the game but I don't know man i know. His fastball fastball. Now just might be ninety two. So i mean he still has three years one hundred thirty two million dollars left on his contract so for houston they had to get rid of westbrook. And when you're dealing with the gyns making that amount of money you ain't gonna be able to get him for anybody who's cheap. Let me the fact that both both teams we had two players who probably only two player that they could've traded for. Maybe chris paul with another guy. You wanna do just a swap for swap. But yet no. It was a situation. I'll take your contract and you can have my bad contract and to take my bad contract in the first round pick zippy zipper tables. Yeah this works but I think for houston again. Give him the position that they were in the fact that they gave up so much to get chris. Paul and the draft picks that they gave up to build that team that underachieved in terms of what their goals were. I think they did. I think it came out all right. I mean you had john wall. As i mentioned before we don't know what kind of player we're gonna be getting. We're not definitely not getting the the player that We once saw and his prime but shoot in did recoup one of the first round picks that They had to give up in trading robert covington. They get another picnic so they're starting to regain some of the picks that they've lost of at least the raphael stone the gm for the raptors starting to we build that way but for the team. I again the move forward. I don't know how hard in an giang wallers is gonna work in. I don't know what the mindset is of james harden going into camp. i haven't talked to james harden. i wasn't hanging out in l. a. Talking to james harden about the whole deal. I don't know i'm just like you. Man in terms of the opportunity to talk to j h the find out what his true thoughts and feelings are so. It'll be interesting to see this drama. Play out so if james comes in with a negative attitude. I mean who doesn't go. What jimmy butler deb. He tried to get him out of minnesota. I don't think that James has that personality. But you know this is again. What the latest all star. Who couldn't find long-term success playing with james harden and these guys were boys. These guys grew up in. La these guys were talking about. I've know russel's damon. Russell knows my game. We hang out in the summer. We work out in the summer and were boys and we played. Aau ball played year for oklahoma city and reunited and it feels so good and everything's great demand. Three hundred sixty five days later russell. Westbrook is like get the fuck outta here and james. Yeah giving the fuck outta here also accept. Don't send me to the same place. Were just in the russell westbrook. Because i don't wanna play for him. The russell westbrook said yeah the feelings mutual. So and the no ma'am marriage. We love each other but we just can't stand the beat around each other. Maybe it's a situation like that Give john wall is Dominant point guard. Westbrook and paul had there assist averages. Go down when they're playing with james harden why because harding taste the ball dribble dribbles dribbles and these rebels dribbles he dribbles and he dribbles and the dribble dribble dribbles and the fans yawn and the analysis groaned and the opponents. Come on man. What the fuck in james harden still out there with a shot clock going down from sixteen twelve to eight the floor and he's a dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble over dribble dribble dribble dribble shot like or he did this a lot of times. I'm surprised at austin rivers era. Gordon never just went over there and said hey motherfucker nicomedes over the ball with two seconds on the shot clock. Didn't it's twenty seven feet away from the basket basketball the guy. I'm still at that ball. Go out of bounds. That'll be a turnover on you. You know i haven't said in my contract. Also and maybe i haven't send of saying that i have a certain percentage any shooting from the field for me to collect an extra fifty gram or one hundred grand the my contract and after dribbling the basketball for a seventeen seconds with a shot clock running down because you now have nowhere to go the pull up the shot. You're going to throw it to me with two seconds on the shot clock or i can't even create a shot where i can't even do anything i have to go ahead cadged hebron at the rim. Because you don't want your shot percentage you don't want your shooting percentage to go down. F you see k you so yeah. We'll look a little bit look chooses. Rejected lineup here. Wow john wall. James harden christian would with a good acquisition. I'll from detroit. Pj tucker eric gordon. How scheduled to be on the team when everything is said and done that's not a championship team is talking about. I want to build a championship. I want to build a championship with that really. That's the beat the lakers. That's gonna beat the clippers. That's going to beat the nuggets. That's going to beat the jazz. That's gonna be possibly an upcoming. I dunno the pelicans have way to go. But just taking a look at the end of the teams in the western conference. Houston going anywhere with that squirrel that squad. And didn't you hear james harden talked about. I wanted to win. Didn't you see. James harden turned down a hundred and three million dollar extension. This is the team that you're going to be building around with james harden that's going to have james harden all shit. I mean i was the play with kevin durant and kyrie irving because i thought i had a chance to win a championship in electric conference like eastern conference. But all hell you're to surround me with kristin t. tj tucker and john wall a limited. John wobble than hell. Let's start planning parade in june in houston moment but for what the the parade in houston. Don't the only parade is going to be in houston in june for the rockets parading. These guys outta town they after they either missed. The playoffs bounced by the denver. Nuggets or of the La clippers in the first round. And again i. How much are we asking john. Wall the play here. He's gotta be unrestricted minutes. He's not going to be playing back the backs. This is going to be a whole lot of game management's when it comes to john wall so even that situation james harden he's not going to have the james james wall we all know remember is walking to be a guy that just be you know on the second team we get that offense initiated that way so he can you know fit his skills his strengths and what. He knows because he won't be able to do that if he's going to be on the floor. The majority of time of james harden the john wall that we saw washington lake will be eligible to be happening in houston with james harden. It was similar to what chris bosh had to go through with. Lebron james is similar to what kevin love had to go through. Lebron james is similar. To what ray allen had to go through with paul pierce whenever you get these superstars and when they're coming over from love team you're not bringing your game. Wally brings his game over in having houston the way he plays. No no no. No john wall is going to have to adjust to the way james harden place and you can ask russell westbrook in chris. Paul that is very difficult to do. And at the end of the day it doesn't turn fruitful because the rockets don't wanna championship. mauri is gone. Mike d'antoni has gone so we'll we'll see we'll see what this looks like but i again because of the fact that what was going to be around for three years you won't go to trade russell westbrook for electric contract less money less years so that that was just the bottom line so you got a guy who didn't want to be there in the first place him out of town state yourself a million dollars you get the guy who's making one hundred and thirty two million. No john walls making one thirty three. I dunno whatever man. What's what's one hundred million dollars between friends right so you have a situation like that. John wall all right. We'll see what he can do as far as working with james harden but the key thing is the main thing is is recouping. Those draft picks that the rockets lost when they tried to build a championship around james harden. Now are the houston rockets. Going to make the same mistake that the washington wizards did are the youth. Iraq is going to continue to make the same mistake even though they were talking about now now not working with james harden we can win with james harden. Let me tell you something man the team. Y'all have right now for the houston rockets. Young coming close to winning the championship this year next year or the year before you better do right for the organization and really do what's right for james harden make everybody happy yourself end. James harden freight jeans. Get some draft picks. Get some capital start over the rally. The thirty five years old the two to three year plan to get the rockets in a position to where they can start making moves. Memphis is getting better. Utah signed donovan. Mitchell thinking about maybe getting them getting a contract for go bears. So utah's gonna remain strong yokich in japan murray for denver there twenty three and twenty five years old. The clippers have and paul. George even playoff p is better on a you. Know the clippers better than houston has man. Y'all better break this down now. Houston and when the time comes for the twenty twenty three twenty four season. That's when you'll start being players for teams of upward mobility to eventually start willing championships. When does world is sports on. Your host wonder wallace so glad that you could be with us. A lot of things get down on and discuss today here on a beautiful friday afternoon out here in las vegas nevada as i'm recording this in my town home which needs to have the kitchen needs kitchen. Kitchen needs to be cleaned Yeah got to get to that but yeah up here watching a little bit. Got my Tv set to the food network watching some diners drive ins and dives remain guy fieri. So i'm set. I'm ready to go on rip rowing ready to go. The one place that i went to when he did a show out here in vegas or when he Was highlighting willing. The pizza place out here in vegas. It was alright to beat them was all right but i would love to have the opportunity. I mean you talk about Food paradise on the travel channel and then the lafayette doing going across the country eating at all these places men man. Oh man talking about i. Love doing podcast. I love talking about sports. I love yelling and screaming and ranting and raving about politics and some other things man. But you're talking about a dream. Come true in terms of a great job and gaffey area making monday the fact that the goal that these countries and go around these places and try these foods some of that shit that they eat i would need like ninety eight percent of the stuff that these guys are cooking like yemen. Gimme some of that. Gimme some of that night to sit there and talk about his crunchy it delicious. The food blends wealth together. You get the bunch. The crunch you get the bite. You get the sweetness you get the tartness. Get the sweetness. Our and all that kind of stuff. I can bullshit my way through and good. Some good eaton's like that so my question. Is you know on chopped and beat bobby flay and all these other places where these guys bring up the food and they try them and they eat it and then give their critique of it. What happens to the rest of the food because they'd be so in some really likes them. Heian stuff some semi in food and all this kind of stuff and all of these ingredients and everything like these folks. Just take a nibble in the bite in a crunch in a in a chow chu and they start talking about. This is good. This is bad but like this. I didn't like that and this that and the other is like okay judge. Go ahead and switch your plate so like well what y'all gonna do with the food that y'all did y'all gonna throw it away. We got people in this world. We got people in this country. Hungary y'all gonna what that the film crew. Y'all gonna give back to somebody else. I mean i would have like a bunch of english folks. Maybe sitting outside the studios. It'd be like you know when you're done with this. I'll go ahead put this in a styrofoam cup or whatever. Give it to the homeless. Say bone apetite or something. I don't know. I mean brinson children who are hungry or something like that and let them eat the stuff that You guys don't eat. But you know tainting the folks on bobby flay you have the judges they take a couple of bites whatever and is like they give the critique and it's like okay that's good enough it's like well what the fuck y'all gonna do with the rest of the food. i mean. these folks are making four dishes and four plates and all this kind of stuff. So i don't know exactly what they do but i hope they give the somebody. I damn sure. Hope they ain't it away because number one. That shit is looking to damn good. Be throwing away. You're talking about being made by james beard award winners and iron chefs and all of these superstars of of the cooking industry is stop. You gonna throw that shit away or are you fucking nuts. Let me know where you are on that away. And i'll be right burger garbage disposal. I'll be right near the trash can and say. Now give shit to me. I'll eat it. I couldn't be a judge in any of them shows man. I couldn't be a judge at chop. I couldn't the guy's grocery games in hollywood bacon the other holidays bacon and all that kind of stuff. I couldn't be a judge because they'd be asking what i think about the dish nuts. I was still be eating. Guest tastes good to me. that's good. I'm tag visiting nurse. Thanks l. take. I really can't give a true description. I really can't tell you how good it. How ballot yet. I really needed another sample jeffrey security. And you're gonna finish yours. I guess. Now i'll take that i'll be he nurtured man. 'specially when you talking about forty five minutes between each meal the for them to cook the food and all that kind of stuff shit. You don't wanna turn down anything bobby flay makes. I'll be talking about beat bobby flay talking about. Yeah you to. Who don't want to finish your meal. I'll take that very much. All in the winter bobby flay eat ross chump. So there you go man. That's my thoughts on the food channel. Hopefully doing something with that food. That hasn't been eaten by the judges at there are sitting there going As alice boras. Shelly is sitting there going. Good deal no deal. Manila children who was just so well a sexy attractive woman. She is sitting there. Giving her thoughts. Amana fried tag and and Those guys just fantastic love myself. The flu channel mark murphy and those guys love myself. The food channel. When does all the sports. I'm your host window. Wallace so glad you could be with us getting back to some sports into football college football playoff rankings. Wonder this week number. Two of the. Nothing's changed more things. Change the more things. Say the same right you top seventeen. Remain the same alabama number one notre dame number two clemson number three ohio state and the before. Those are the top fourteen for the top four spots alabama beat auburn in the iron bowl last weekend. Forty third fully thirteen was your them folks in auburn alabama. Sitting there talking about how the hell hell no hell house still have a job. How the hell did we gave him a contract extension day. Forty two thirteen met. Jones threw for five touchdown. Passes didn't even need head coach. Nick sabin on the sidelines to do it. You tested positive for covid. Nineteen after showing some mild symptoms. He's still not back with the team wasn't back with the team. But everything's copacetic. He'll be on the Sidelines when alabama gets revenge in their game begins lsu member when lsu. I remember i remember. I remember last season when lsu beat alabama in. I said that You know with it. Orange iran ask coach as a recruiter in the location. That he's at. This could be the first time this could be the real program at least in the sec. Clemson miami you can debate whether which program is more elite as right now. What's program has been stronger. The last four or five years. Clemson and alabama clearly has been those two really nobody else. But i said after all after lsu beat alabama said that you know what man it or to run this. This guy might be the thorn in nick sabin side. This guy might be ultimately the rafeal raffin doll to nick. Sabin roger federer. You know what. I'm saying in terms of veterans. Seemed like he could beat everybody for a while except for nadal. The jovic came on the scene and he got better. Roger got older and now is basically a situation where you have no back and rafa in grand slams and i thought you know kirby smart might have been that guy to give nick savings and troubles. Wrong in the sec. And there was like it or drum. Might be that guy just the way. he's talking order. I've had a cajun swag tomb. Be like you know algebra nick. Sabin fuck nick saving. The i wanna beat his ass. A billion at home. I'm going to him at alabama and after the game's over on be talking shit. And you know you talk about football players high school football players in love that shit man especially you can go ahead and produce and the recruiting ground that louisiana's situated on in lsu the type of school that it is in the football program that it is an order to run as the head coach in in the recruiter. That he is. i mean. This is a situation where you know you know. Lsu could be that team that lately. I'm not gonna say says. Nick sabin the retirement but brings alabama back to the pack in terms of winning championships every single year. Instead of the allburn ascent of the alabama crimson tide. Being in the playoffs every year now could be a situation. Where for the next five or six years in a row could be. Lsu wrong boy. Was i wrong. That would've i. Didn't know joe burrow was that good. I didn't know joe brady. The offense coordinator passing coordinator wherever you wanted to call him for the lsu tigers last year. I didn't know he was important. And i didn't know the difference. I didn't know the discrepancy between head coach in recruiter to the seems to me like head coach or on average recruiter edwards run fantastic thought that any mediocrity that in order on had as a coach vic peekapoo a good enough staff together and go out and give themselves some really great recruits. Continue to be a school. That's going to be renting the top two or three every recruiting writing that. It really didn't matter how bad of coach or how mediocre coach in order on was just on talent alone. If you didn't get away of the coordinators the he can go ahead and be successful and well do the fact that they can pay Topnotch dollars to get themselves exit. Offensive and defensive specialty. Coordinators and defensive. Line coach is in wide receiver coaches and quarterback coaches and such just as a guy who could be the ceo. I mean how bad could end or drum b. that position for lsu the fall off they did. They're falling off falling off their fallen. All they are falling off. So it's like. Oh how much longer i mean You know the guys who are really listened to respect pat forties of the world and some others. I mean they bring up the name. Gene chizik of auburn. I mean yeah you look good. You're genius when you have cam newton that one year when you won a national championship and then a couple of years later. He's gone in. Auburn is Auburn is in the gutter and terms that there are opportunities and their position to win championships and being elite football program. The challenge alabama and with gus malzahn. I mean it's been a rocky bumpy relationship between the fan base. And the coach in the football program bonex sick and tired of hearing about bo knicks. Bonuses gonna be like other the stem etlinger for texas. I feel like he's been around playing football for that program for like eight years. The tired of bonus. I don't care about the fact that he grew up wanting to be an auburn tiger at all the bullshit. I don't care you ain't getting. It does quarterback this was supposed to be the guy the to be able to have auburn compete with the alabama's of the world hasn't happened so you know that's that's another deal that The the another discussion. I'll get into a little bit later on. Podcast but alabama remains number one. They're gonna blow lsu all that shit that at around talking about you. Don't think nick saving them boys. You think those guys didn't remember that you'll think they remember that shit man. They're about to their bill to get. Bum rushed at lsu on saturday so maybe they should have cancelled that game. Maybe when the game was cancelled the first time maybe it should have been like now. We're cool we're good. We're fine no about. We need to play alabama this year. We're good don't worry about it. We got enough donor to to You know take care of the losses. Ohio state still in the top. Four teams only played four games. Now that the possibly michigan state ryan day is not going to be at the game because he's tested positive for covert but the big ten is doing everything humanly possible that they can do. They have ohio. State the sixty seven so they can qualify for the Football playoffs cincinnati. Again cincinnati remains unbeaten and mike number seven the same place where they were last week. You know know know that there ain't no way humanly possible. Cincinnati is gonna be in the top four spots. No way. I don't give a damn what they do. They can go out and they can beat some teams one. Hundred did nothing for the rest of the season. It ain't gonna matter. Clemson notre dame one of the teams are going to be in alabama. They're probably going to be in a complete complete utter chaos happens. I still don't think that. Cincinnati can find an avenue can find a way can have directions to get themselves to be one of the top four teams to compete for the college football playoffs. It's called you're not in a power. Five conference go fuck yourself. You ain't invited we interested so you know cinderella. You ain't going to the ball bitch. So is like one of those deals so. When does the sports. I'm your host win. The wallace glad you could be with us college football week. Thirteen past weekend eighteen game for postponed or cancelled brings the total number of games cancelled or postponed the season to one hundred gotta make that money though right president you gotta make that money right. Aideed make the money right. We gotta make that money fuck. I don't give a damn how we get there. We those counters as the big twelve. The big ten. Sec sec pac twelve day of what the hell at the pac twelve one is doing the pac twelve. I live close to pac twelve country. Nike forgetting that conference is still playing football games or at least trying to play football games. Jeez so look. Some games postponed games with some significance again. The ohio state illinois game was canceled this past saturday after positive tests but the ohio state program again. We're speaking about the situation. Where ohio state needs to. There's no more cancellations. there's no more postponements. I don't know exactly what we can you. I'm sorry i'm nfl. Gene smith athletic director. I'm sitting up there speaking of somebody to say okay. Even if we do have positive tests what exactly can we do to either. A hide the fact that we have positive tests and to put them on the field and cross our fingers or doing something man because we ain't missing out on that check. We ain't missing out on an opportunity to play for a championship. All the huddle huckabee blue and all this other bullshit us in nebraska and all these folks from the big ten conference's wait around was talking about. We'll go play sometime else somewhere else. And all this other bullshit and now we're at the position now where we might not have an opportunity to play when if we're ohio state where one of the top four teams in the country this year. And we're gonna have. We're gonna miss out on the opportunity because some fucking copen positive tests. What exactly can we do to get around this. What can we do. Can we fudge. Can we cheat. Can we do something. Just in case state i have a plan. B hey man. I'm sorry you're putting children's putting minors health risk and young people and all that bullshit. Hey fuck all that bullshit would be intentions college football. The attentions of the conferences with to go ahead and see what we can do. The intentions of ryan day and the ohio state football players to play this season under any means necessary and when commissioner of the big ten decided that they were going to shut down the season the fans the parents the players the coaches there were him in hauling and yelling and whining and crying and do a lot of this kind of stuff. Fine motherfucker you've got yourself goddamn season. We're gonna finish his mother fucker hook or crook hook or crook crook crook crook emphasis on the word crook so ohio state. You wanted the you wanted to play the season fine. You're going to fucking play this season. You're one of the best four teams in the lean league. Fine we're gonna fuck and find a way to get you to the college football playoffs. And then we can ten fifteen twenty thirty years from now when none of this shit is significant. Is this today then. We start going into our conspiracy theories and then we start going into the bloody socks and then we can start going to the shooter on the grassy knoll and then we can start doing all that. Other bullshit and conspiracies and y'all can have documentaries and who delights and all this other nonsense as a right now. I don't give a damn. How many players had copay if they're walking in. They're breathing if they can play their fucking plan so hook by crook and that's the attitude. That's that's the attitude of the college football right. Fbi always been the attitude of college football conference who actually gives. The dale about their players are the ivy league. Not only did the i. League cancel the football season. They also cancelled the basketball season. Why i don't know because those schools actually give a damn about their quote unquote student athletes. The big ten dozen the. Acc doesn't the sec doesn't or they don't care enough. They care more on how much money they're going to be missing. More than the camped up the health and safety of their players. So fucking go all the fucking way with his bullshit though. Florida state has their second consecutive game postponed on saturday. There was a schedule virginia. Virginia was like now. We're good so now. The acc is now announced that you know notre dame and played wake forest and clinton only play one more game so instead of playing nine games attending or something like that just to make sure that one or two teams from the acc play in the college. Football semi-final have a chance to win a championship. Were just doing to strengthen the yards so wait for us. Sorry you went playing the schedule. Game against notre dame. What is gonna popo. Postpone that game. So basically notre dame has already secured a spot in the college football playoffs. Oh and by the way notre dame even part of the acc conference. They just needed somewhere to go though. The acc has notre dame on loan for year and they're bending over backwards and putting them with though vassal. Lean toward wooster vastly. Just for those guys all about the money all about the money and seizing with clemson davos. We need up there talking about the i. I couldn't understand. Dad got a little angry when the school clemson travel all the way down. Travel all the way down from clemson. South carolina to tally hassle. Tallahassee florida exactly not going from new york hannah lulu but you bring the team you brought the band but cheerleaders to money was involved in that trip so you get down there in florida states like Yeah sorry we cut some covert issue. So we're not gonna play or oh. I heard that you guys have some common issue. So we're a postponing. The game and deborah was like fuck that bullshit. You want to postpone this game. Okay fuck you know we schedule when shit unless you you bring back the money or give back the money we spent. Come on down here. you're gonna tell us that shit the date of when we get down there fuck you only one essence one respect i see dabbled sweeney is coming from on the other hand deborah. You're a football coach. Your doctor in other commissioner. You're not a president. You're fucking football coach. We don't do as you say you do. As i say now your team is going to go back down there. And you're going to play florida state. Now you can fucking go down there with the team or you won't lifted. Don't go down there with the team and you continue to have a stake and if you continue to speak and you continue to bury a problem i will fuck and bear your fucking ass all we we play ball here dabble because this conference bending over backwards to make sure that you have the best chance to get yourselves into the college football playoff. Oh yeah. That's big fat contract. You said i'm quite sure it has the bonus for you making the college football playoffs and also winning the college football playoff. So do me a fucking favor. Will you help me help you. Shut the fuck up. It's stop burying our other Ah brethren in the acc florida's data will ever just shut the fuck up and let us do what we need to do. All we okay with that the matter we okay with that. Dipa fuck ella. My office will get the fox kazuko or hang up the phone. Whatever but S been devils up there now look. They're dictating when we're gonna play and who we're going to play in all of this kind of bullshit know about that one. That's pretty interesting but again you know the act declared that the football it's gonna be we're gonna be changed some games and we're going to do everything that we can have. Clemson play notre dame in the acc championship game. Their think is being crossed at clemson. Now trevor lawrence and not dj cloud ola last name. I forget i apologize but He's gonna be at the quarterback position in that will allow clemson in some other other players on clinton's defense they're going to be eligible and they'll be able to play this game so that will be the difference so the aclu tuesday declared a series of college schedule. Changes that guarantees. Notre dame will play in the conference title game on december nineteenth. Now what the league said in the statement that said here that the league's athletic directors voted to preserve the integrity of the conference championship game. Embiid the covid nineteen pandemic by evaluating the league's top three teams based on a nine km conference schedule as opposed to a ten game schedule. So those teams are notre dame clemson and miami go based on the standings results to notre dame holds all tiebreakers and therefore security birth in the acc football championship game. Wow how 'bout that man the amend schedule content concludes the regular season saturday which means that notre dame syracuse and the clemson virginia tech. Those games will be played. The irish and the tigers were previously scheduled to play wake forest and florida state on december twelfth respectively. But then again devil through that little fit in that hill hissy fit. I was talking about i. I like the way the data when he was calling out florida state. He didn't go out player. Didn't call the coach. You call out. The administration by the coaches wanted to play. The players wanted to play to win was saying was just seven points. I'm not yelling at the coach. And i'm not yelling at teams. I'm not calling you guys. cowards. I'm calling your administration. Cowards so nice to see davo chemist that little bit in there. also so miami's Is going to travel the play duke on saturday and then they'll host north carolina on december twelfth. So again clemson. Beats north virginia tech. And right now. They're twenty two points favorites. They'll secure the second spot in the title game due to the head tiebreaker. They have over over miami which they want on october tenth forty to the seventeen to what happens to clemson loses to virginia tech the question. That means miami. Then must beat both a beat both duke and north carolina and the following week to secure a berth in the title game and if miami fails to do that Before that then. It will host virginia georgia tech on december nineteenth. If notre dame clemson or miami. Kim playing on saturday due the corona virus coming up those games could be rescheduled for december twelve. Th so i don't know man. I don't know i don't know i don't know it's just alabama is it just been a weird year. I don't know whether i'm dislike. Just hurry up and get this college football season over with or i don't know what my emotions are. Because it's like you start the season again in everything just thrown just outta wag in look no fault of college football and everything else fucking pandemic going on so labor day and everything. The tradition which i've been so accustomed to for decades is like thrown out of whack. So you don't have those labor day games you don't have those Top five teams in top ten teams playing each other. You don't have alabama going up. Because usc you don't have that stuff going on september there was a situation. Where should the big ten play should be ten. Not play and you had that rigmarole than you had the pac twelve talking about. We're going to cancel. Oh no we're not going to cancel the season i know. And now you have the mac and you have the mountain west and you have all these all these small mid major conferences. so the possibilities of You know a huge upset. That's happening in september. You know those situations are gone. That's one of the things that big college football so interesting. Is those early season contests and september. Would you have Mid major you know putting a weapon or beating a top twenty team or team in a power five conferences. Such like those such like them. I mean that wasn't as prevalent in. That wasn't as impactful as it was the season. And when everything is all said and done i mean maybe with the exception of notre dame i mean clemson alabama ohio state. I mean basically. That's what the season with four mainly get those three in. Everybody knew that those were the three best teams in college football. Everybody knew the way the schedule was going to be. Put together that those guys were going to. The clinton was gonna do what they needed to do. Even with the hiccup at notre dame the skype or still going to be in a position to Make it to the college football playoff. Everybody knew that maybe with. I don't know i mean shit who knows texas a and m. Maybe the shock the world but donald menzel was a walking through that door so it was like alabama for the most part of schedule that they had. They knew they weren't going to lose football games. it was just a matter of who was going to be. That next team wasn't gonna be florida. Wasn't going gonna be notre dame was going to be georgia which one of these was at. The time at the time was going to be michigan. Or what are you gonna be penn state when the big ten decided that they were going to Start the season so all of these things. It just seem. I don't know man. It just seem like to bullshit ish and it just brings to light brings more evident than anybody with a brain in their head and anybody who came out you know put you know what one plus one equals two means new that look. This is all about bunny this all selling myself. How much money does austin. Texas lutheran university of texas doesn't play. How much does columbus ohio lose financially when ohio state the play football games. How much money do college towns like. Auburn alabama in college station texas in norman oklahoma in stillwater and oxford mississippi and all of these places. How much money that the on much. Those omaha nebraska are in lincoln nebraska lincoln nebraska where the basket plays. How much does it tell. Economy take a hit when college. Football is not the session. Be damned the fact that they're wearing a pandemic bi dam the fact that when you're going to be playing college football that the numbers we're going to rise just because of the change climate and flu season and everything like that and we have a fucking idiot in the white house. Who really didn't give a fuck about how many people got sick or died. He gave a damn about his fucking punk. 'self so we knew this shit was coming and i guess you could say that. The only thing that we could go shoe was about that no one died. Thank goodness that no one got deathly ill. The no one was nothing on the doorstep of the grim reaper. the season that no college football player faced adversity. So in that case you can say that this college football season if they can continue to do what they're doing half the playoffs get themselves a championship that it was a success and you can go ahead and you can those conferences who make it to the playoffs to go ahead and you can cash those checks all about all about the money all about how much all about that. Five hundred forty nine million dollars that's going to be doled. That's how much according to the ncaa documenta team by usa. Today sports back in two thousand eighteen twenty seventeen the rose bowl sugar bowl orange bowl. Fiesta bowl peachable cotton bowl but the national championship game. They pay out a combined. Five hundred forty nine million dollars to conferences in schools. That was the school year of two thousand eighteen. Nineteen and you also have to remember the teams who play those games conferences. They divvy up about four hundred and forty four hundred and forty eight million dollars because ninety nine million dollars all that five hundred and forty nine hundred forty nine million dollars. Ninety nine million dollars of that goes to the lower tier schools so when schools are playing front of habit empty stadiums normally in the toilet bowl. And who cares bowl and the speidel title sponsorship bowl. And no one's gonna watch bowl and we're always doing this because gamblers wanted to bet on something bowl and the bahamas bowl and the hawaii bowl and this report bowl and all this other bullshit bowls. The that's where that money come from to help those bowl games pinstripe bowl and the california bowl and the sponsors sponsorship bowl that money the four hundred forty five hundred and forty nine billion dollars. Ninety nine million dollars of that goes to all those other bullshit bowls so those conferences that make the college football playoffs they get the lion's share that dobie so boom it under the bcs system the combined pay out of those six game plus the bcs championship speaking again about the major bowl game six bogus. That people actually care about the bcs championship game. That was two hundred. Twenty seven million in during this last year of existence in the twenty thirteen fourteen season and that but mostly due to espn which was in about seven point. Three billion dollars combined televise those six bowl games plus the championship during that twelve year period. So that was another. That was another. Rob added another revenue stream that That's coming into these days. So that's what college football is all about so been weird been uneven been awkward still interested but it's always still a reminder that college football student athletes holy shit that they're talking about nothing but bullshit you won't both the Cabrera n- miana window. Wallace women met the one language. Or what what. What language speaking here. Come on boot. que pas si. Yeah we'll talk about wendell's world of sports. I'm your host one. The wall was getting down. Let's go do this speaking about what's going on in the world of sports. I told you man man when you get a good day. I'm not. I'm not a parent so you know i'm not around kids around anybody to go to the pandemic but i miss school into the classroom. I miss with the kids man. I miss learning. I'm as well. You can learn a lot from the kids much before i told kim before. Look i don't have kids. So you know anything in terms of generation and everything. I've learned from y'all so if i'm walking around the classroom on these dropping if i'm in earshot up talking about what's going on with your lives or whatever in terms of anything that i can Compute and take into account when listening to young people. I'm trying. I'm trying my best. So i miss the i miss east dropping. I miss being nosy. I miss you know getting into the conversations. And i miss the teacher's aides. 'cause i always tell the teachers aides. Look you have two options here unless the teacher gives them something to do when i have to relate to them i say look. You've got two options here either. You're going to. I can read you a pass. You can go to the library or it. Looks like you only doing anything. If i have senior class if i'm substituting senior physics or something that's like these kids are also depending upon what school i am. I'm not met during the day of the kids are awesome. It's like look you know what you have two options you can go over there and if you know anybody here hang out with them. Top chitty chat and talk about what's going on in your life or you can go to another class. do some other worker. You can go to the cafeteria and hang out with your friends. You can do whatever because you know. Miss johnson miss smith is jones. Didn't leave here anything for you to do today. But i'm telling you one thing if you're gonna stay here you're gonna talk to me if you're gonna talk to me. I will be asking your questions. I'm gonna try to get you know they'll inside on what's going down. Was you know if you're a senior. Are you going to be going to college. What colleges are looking at. What's going to be your major what you wanna do. You grow up this any other. So that's what i'm gonna be doing now. My advice is to lie. And say i've got to go somewhere aren't really do something because i wanna talk. You're off because we got another seventy eight minutes to go. We can another fifty minutes to go. And i can ramble and i can talk so my suggestion would be for you. I could write your past. You can go to looming up with your buddies or go to another room where you can do anything you can to get away from me. That would be my suggestion. But i'm here if you stay here and if you're going to be sitting right here we're going to have a conversation because i wanna get knowledgeable. I wanna get educated and turn the younger folks. Were doing the peach. Sometimes they're like yeah. Give me a basket. The fuck out of here or there like school. We want to know. So so i miss one of the things. I miss about. Not being in the classroom and dealing in learning from the younger generation at all the motherfuckers. They'll be taken care of in you when everybody else. Everybody my generation when we get older and Yeah so. I want to find out what makes them tick. What world is sports. I'm your host wonderwall. Wallace so glad you could be with us. man Did you see history being made in college. Football saturday this past saturday vanderbilt kicker sarah fuller when she kicked off for the vanderbilt commodores in the second half of their game against missouri she became the first woman to play in a power five. Football game is kicking off really playing. I mean i know playing in a college football game but she kicked off with that really. That really playing. I'm just. I'm not criticizing i'm asking i'm asking that's all so. How did the opportunity come about the fact that because many people are saying. This is a publicity stunt and everything. I don't think that. I think the case bendable had a grand kicker opt out because the team stinks the and other kickers opt out because of the covid nineteen testing so they had to go into quarantine and they didn't have any kickers. This is the one that situation where everybody was rolling ready to go from the ticking standpoint and now ex coach derek mason said but fellas. We really don't need you this week. We're going to bring sarah filler. Because i need to save my job. Where owen seven. Where puget we stink and even at vanderbilt even in school like vanderbilt and did show something. So i need to. I dunno visit distraction. The feel good story. Whatever but any something to say my job. So you guys bombing us. We're gonna to bring in sarah fuller for the publicity. Don't don't think at all. I think it was a situation. Which was they needed. Kickers they had tryouts. She happened to be the best one. She just happened to be a female another all of that absolutely not raw. Nothing wrong with that so in doing so again. She became the first player. I i in the plano power. Five conference of a football game. fuller's normally a goalkeeper for the variables. Sec championship soccer team. When she tried out. So let me see jacqueline jacksonville. States ashley martin. In two thousand one became the first woman the score of the visual in college. Football the a college football game when she may three extra points and then new mexico. state's katie. Neither h an idea helped the age silent in two thousand and three became the first woman to score at the fbi levels. So i mean she's i mean getting katie fuller First person first female to play in a power five conference game but there were others before her in terms of females playing in a football game. And as i mentioned before. Ashley martin jacksonville state becoming the first woman and i guess you could say what still the first woman to score in a division one college football game when she made three extra points so miss fuller was deemed the special teams. Sec special teams player of the week on monday. And that'll be jason whitlock on. Because i do think this is a great situation to do a great deal. I don't think it was a publicity stunt. I think it was great. She tried out. She was the best one. I wouldn't privy to any of the Workouts i didn't know who else he was competing against so if the coach said that she would the best qualified most qualified will then see. Should there much as female male. And we'll give that. She's the best person for the job than she should get that opportunity then. She should be able to do that. So i don't have an opportunity and yes moving forward. We're always trying to move forward in a positive direction for everybody. Male female black white whatever. So yes i understand the importance and now women are sitting there talking about louis. Now i wanna be a kicker. Now i feel. I can do things. That maybe i wouldn't be able to do or wouldn't be able to attempt or wouldn't be able to try or would have been talked adult because now what she did and so. I understand the significance. I understand the importance. And i have no problem with doing that. I have no problem with her. Going to georgia with the team and kicking if sees the best one. That can do it then. Let her keep on doing it. I don't give a damn about the. The female gender thing never entered my mind. Is she the birth person. it's a bad person. Whoever the best person to do. That's all i care about. That's all i care about so kudos to her mom. My deal is It's like a okay. Where do we go from here. Because i don't think there's going to be a whole bum rush of females who are looking to trial four field goal kickers for men's football team thirty. Nfl or anything. like that. and i don't i don't know i i. It's a situation because of that. It's a nice story in a wonderful story but let's not have that. Take attention away from female sports who need more attention. You know what i'm saying. I mean let's have the opportunity of of a fuller being able to Kick in this in this game. Sarah four being able to kick in this game. Let's now have that transfer over to what's going down with the women's soccer team. You know what i'm saying because that's where i think. I'm not really interested in because nothing to happen. You're not gonna have women playing quarterback you're not going to have women playing offense tackle. You're gonna have women playing linebacker so my point is this is a wonderful moment in this great moment. Let's use that moment. Let's use that momentum. Let's us that That that impact list youth significance to now place it over to sports such as women's sports women's sports canal. Now get more attention or more attention than they deserve that. That's the only thing that i'm talking about. Because look the kick that she had it was it was really gender gender out of it all right because the metoo movement and everything. That's what you're talking about. Look don't be talking about. Oh she kissed good for a girl or she does well for a girl or she knows this. Wow that's impressive. Do due to the fact that she's a girl if we're gonna be doing now on taking gender out don't judge on a curve in terms of yeah you know what she did well for a girl out of the equation take a look at the kick you know analyze to kick. It was a low squib kick. Now you could say was designed by the coaches to limit the possibility of return but it travel only thirty yards down at the thirty five yard line so again which missouri was whooping on vanderbilt some fierce in ultimately won the game forty one to nothing which it didn't caught during mesa's is job but he was fired right after the game it was. It was pretty lame the kick yourself with pretty lame if we could it. Will it will really want to be honest about emma. Vanderbilt's currently eight the season. No one's giving a damn vanderbilt hasn't been heard from seen from cared about for a couple of years. Since when they started off i think they started off three a couple of years ago. And they played alabama the next weekend before the game. They were turpin and talking. Some nonsense like alabama better. Be ready in alabama be the two hundred fourteen and nothing some shit like that but others. I mean vanderbilt is a nothing program. If our football concern is consciousness relevance in the entire football college football landscape so hey you know what does female proved that. She's the best person for the job then pool. My only problem is is that the best person for the job. How bad are the kickers. Outside of the ones that are already on the team not being able to play because of covid issues. How many how. Bad is the kicking talent on the campus of vanderbilt university where she got the job. If that's going to be if that if that off with the best thing that came out of there in terms of a she was the best one what would the others like. How bad were the other kickers. Who tried out for the team. I mean how bad were there kicks so again. She expected to continue as vanderbilt place. Kicker on saturday georgia vanderbilt interim coach todd fitch told reporters on tuesday. That fuller is practicing with the team and will be on travel roster and We have to be. We have to be careful. We have to be careful. This is a fifteen minutes of fame type of story. I'm sorry i'm sorry again. I'm glad that she had the opportunity. Cool if she were the best one to do it then by means i have no problems at all whether it being the kicker if she with the best person for the job but come on man let's canas like start calming down on the social significance of this okay. I mean she still a female and it's still going to be some boundaries because she's a female that males cannot cannot go over. Touchy whatever did you hear about this bullshit about. She blasted her new teammates at halftime the halftime speech. Her what she she told. Espn courtney cronin. When asked did you really going into halftime lambaste verbally. Lambaste the football team. She was like. I just went in there and i said exactly what i was thinking. I was like we need to be cheering. Each other on this is how you win games. This is how you get better by calling each other out for stuff. And i'm going to call you out. I'm gonna call you guys out. We need to be supporting one. Another this you also added. She was a little pissed off at how quiet everybody was on the sideline. We made a first dam. When cheering and i was like what the heck what's going on and i try to get them pumped up okay. All right said nothing to do with the gender. Okay this has nothing to do with gender but just pretend just pretend not pretend. Let's go wheel rolled on this. If a male kicker who it just joining the team had never played the sport before from the men's let's say the goalkeeper from the men's soccer team at vanderbilt had one job and then he came into the locker room and started lambasting and started calling out teammates at halftime. What do you think the male football players at vanderbilt would have said in done to this guy what they probably would have said number one. Who the fuck are you number to shut the fuck up number three. If you don't shut the fuck up. I am going to black. I am going to go to shatter your jaw. Shut the fuck up and we will take turns each woah team take turns first telling you to shut the fuck up. No you replace your fucking kicker. You're not even on this fucking team. You're coming into here and you're going to be calling us out. Fuck you fell us get him. There ain't no fucking way a male kicker who just joined the team who had never played football before wasn't even all the team would have the nerve a kicker of all people a kicker the komo to the locker room i hadn't played the full game hasn't even done anything to go in there and start calling guys she it but because she the woman. But you know nobody's going to be. You know what guys going to say the things that needs to be said from this woman walking in here and talking about you know. We need to do this and we need to do this. And i can't believe you guys don't know how to win and let me show you guys. How the winning. Fuck you fuck you. You're goddamn goddamn soccer player. Got fucking sakes will be fucking shit. Shut the fuck up and sit the fuck down. That was should've said he come on man and again it had nothing to do with the gender. It's just a nerve. The lateral awareness. The eight. i guess from the political standpoint football kickers one of the last time you a kicker up there talking smack what was the last time in football at any level then a kicker was coming in their business and up there talking raises his voice in. Do some type of shit like that. Don't happen to fucking football. Because you're a fucking kicker unless you're a do guy. Let's wore a kicker in a quarterback kicker in a defensive lineman kicker in a real football fucking player ain't no football player who the kicker legally walking in there talking shit but because she's a female which one is going to be able to address her life he needs to needed to be addressed in terms of those role is shut your mouth at the rock said no your role is shut your mouth before i take it down to notable boulevard brownie drive. Wasn't even funnier fully was talking about after the speech. She said she had coaches. Come up to me. And say i've been wanted to say that for a while. Now those fucking coaches should be fired. You're coaches independent wanting to say that either you've been buzzing by the head coach to say you know what guys let it be. Don't go in there or you guys are too cowardly to spineless too gutless to go ahead and say something like that tell you have to put it on a place. Don't give a fuck about what gender she is but you're up there talking about well. We have a place kicker. Say something that. I've been dying to save but didn't have the guts didn't have the balls didn't have the permission didn't have the spine to go ahead and do it unites. No wonder you motherfuckers are. Oh innate nobody you guys have a wallet game. no wonder you guys. Aren't embarrassment. Sec football jeez man then someone compared what she did with jackie robinson in terms of breaking the color barrier in baseball. Oh my my goodness gracious. Stop stop stop. Stop stop please stop. Stop stop stop stop. please stop. please stop please. Stop. don't go up. She kicked off. She didn't make a tackle. She didn't catch pass she android plas. Pass block anybody. She made one play she. Then therefore sixty snaps fifty snaps twenty snaps ten snaps. She kicked the ball off once and it was ugly in the put the defense in a horrible position. Stop stop with the again. I am happy. I am glad if this can be a movement to where women is. Sports can better themselves get more money. Get more exposure. How about younger generations of females and do all those type of things. Hey more power to or good good. Good good great-great-great fabulous moment moment. Wonderful moment historical moment. Whatever but let's just keep the shit in perspective in less keep the focus on where it should be not the fact that we good golly miss molly that we have a female. Who's now going to be able to play a man's sport even if it's going to be just for one play for a couple of more game because of a pandemic situation. Let's let's use this now to focus on putting spotlight putting some on the women's sports. I'm not interested in a woman infiltrating and playing a man's sport i'm not interested in the uplifting and the availability that women will have to say when you won't play with men i can go ahead and play. The women may no fucking big deal about playing when the man playing a man's sport when fuck knew that i have a i have the opportunity to play the wnba. I have the opportunity to play in the pro women's soccer league. I have the opportunity to play the pro softball leagues opportunity to play female tennis wagging female and female golf which is just as financially possible and putin in fantastic the men so i don't need to go to the men to go ahead and do them. I can do just as well be just as happy and be just as impact impact not just for women but for people all over playing might female sport. Hopefully that is the lesson that is a direction that they'll go. I hope what role the sports. I'm your host. Wonderwall is so that you could be with us. Come on guys lintas you guys are losers. Played being being the goaltender for the sec. Championship women's soccer team guys. Need to be this. You guys need to do that. You guys needed a bit. Shut the fuck up and said down. Could you imagine me walking on the field with a women's soccer game at halftime me. Walk in and do the locker room. You'll need to do this. Women need to do that. How dare you got. You gotta do this. You guys can't do that. I would not. I would not be offended at all if those women looked at me said shut the fuck up get. I'll get alvin. Came here fifteen minutes ago and now he's turned. Tell us how to play soccer. Get the fuck outta here man yet. So it's again sarah fuller situation. It's interesting when does world is sports on murals to win the glad that you could be with us turning to your nfl. Some games of interest this weekend for me. Cleveland at tennessee. Both teams coming into the game with eight and three records on one hand. Tennessee's like air eight one. Three good wins against indy and the overtime victory against baltimore and the other side. You got cleveland. Eight and farinas like. Yeah an-and yeah we'll ever makes me say that cleveland has a lot more to prove in this game. It's eighty three team. But does anyone feel like this is really a true eight thousand eight hundred eighteen team cleveland. We're speaking about a strong possibility of making the playoffs for the first time. Eighteen years man well in the most sad sect dysfunctional embarrassing organization for the last eighteen. Twenty twenty five years. Jimmy has little owner coaches after every fifteen games feels like man you guys now in a position to end the long drought by any team currently in the nfl in terms of not making the playoffs. Play cleveland should be jumping for joy. Man that's to be one of the major headwinds for sports is concerned right now. Eight three but devil is in the detail and according to espn football power index or the fbi. Cleveland has the third easiest schedule in the league to date so the browns have no wins against anyone ranked in the fbi top ten. They only have one victory. That's indianapolis thirty four. Twenty three of anyone in the fbi. Top fifteen and they have two wins. The houston texans who they tend to seven in a game. That was whether you know whether played a role in indianapolis. Those are the only two once they've had get poland's opponents rain in the top twenty and then when you take a look at the three losses that they've had baltimore oakland and pittsburgh and they've lost those games by a combined score of ninety two to nineteen and then you think about the fact that they play close game against cincinnati jacksonville and philadelphia and dallas. Those betty you sit there and you say yeah and free. But i mean you know. Are they going to beat the steelers. Are they going to be the chiefs. Are they going to beat these teams that you know. I mean great that we're making the playoffs and don't give a fuck. You guys could play like you know if the cleveland browns were playing central high school. Or some shit. Like that mueller high school. I don't give a damn. You guys should still be excited. The fact that you guys are going to be making the playoffs and the fact that you guys might have the best running back tandem in the league by far you might have the best run back in the game. I know you've got another camera. You could make argument for and derrick. Henry you can definitely make an argument for in the delvin cook and minnesota. You could make an argument for but you're going to try to tell me nick. Chubb man nick. Chubb is a baller. Nick job arguably the best rolling back in the game. You're talking about a guy who was a pro bowler last season. Who ran for fifteen hundred yard. Well he's rush road for about seven hundred and twenty your so far this season and six touchdowns and he's missed four games with an injury and that israel offense kareem hunt. Who's you know rehabilitated. His career very nicely after the situation in kansas city which off the field incident which caused kansas city to say goodbye to him. He's rushed for seven hundred and six yards. He scored four touchdowns rushing. And he's leading the team four touchdown receptions and you had to doing this without your most talented offensive football player physically gifted offensive football player in odell odell beckham junior. So hey you know what excellent formula right here now. The key is going to be when you're going to have to put points on the board because if you're going to be playing the city if you're going to be playing pittsburgh that ball control might be nice but are you guys will be able to outscore a patrick mahomes. Are you going to be able to have it offense as that's going to have to put up at least twenty eight points against patrick mahomes. Are you going to be able to control the clock and control the ball against a defense like pittsburgh. I mean when you're speaking about a team might baltimore. I mean is a huge game for tennessee. Because you have to put a win in the column in terms of amen we can play just eighteen when we make the playoffs and now situation of if the cleveland. Browns made the playoffs for the position. This season of win so when you get to these games. I mean we're not gonna have the ability to fight scratch and claw and beat the cincinnati's in the jacksonville's of the world. Do we really have what it takes in. This will be a good answer in the game against tennessee. Especially a game on the road tennessee. On the other hand they won three forces losing consecutive games to pittsburgh in a while really game to cincinnati but sunday. They beat up on the colts even though they were the culprit playing with a couple of defensive lineman that were absent because the kobe the fourth of the bucket force being one of them Along with the game against the ravens in which they down over of a sudden two weeks ago the tennessee titans who were out in the playoffs situation now fast forward two weeks now. They're the number. Three seed in the playoff standings with five regular season games left derrick henry being a beast. I mentioned before about how good nick chubb is the first agility of many people who really know the game of football. Say that won't be an reasons why they would go with niche up over derrick henry in terms of who the best believe back over the better rolling back the two but derrick henry is the beast now. Your nick chubb can beat. You're catching the football and breakaway speed. And all those things he hit the line a little bit faster and all those type of things. But derrick henry just wears you down and again he ran for hunting. Seventy eight yards three touchdown. Twenty eight carries against indianapolis the week before. Daddy gets baltimore. You ready for one hundred thirty three yards including the game winning touchdown in overtime on twenty series of baltimore yet in the first quarter because of his style of running and you know him as a rolling back yet. Nick chop can Go ahead and do some things. Catch the ball out of the backfield. Do some things. Meanwhile you know derrick. Henry started that big boy had to get going and going so he's not nick. Chubb might be able to break back after carry number three kerry number four or catching the ball out of the backfield. Making something happened on the fifth of six. Play the game to put cleveland in an advantageous position. Because of that many people are saying that. The reason why they would go with. Nick chubb being the better bring back derrick henry but shit man i mean just throughout the totality of the game when you have to continue to hit derrick henry and europe undersized safety or your cornerback or something like that and you're going up against the big strong offensive line as far as the defensive line is concerned in linebacker such and you might have to be dealing with derrick henry. After the fifth carried the tenth carry the fifteenth carried. The eighteenth carry the twenty second carey. And you've been as far as the secondary concern with the other team you've been having to deal with the big bodies that right wide receiver in the tight end position so everywhere. You look at a skill position from the tennessee titans standpoint. you're dealing with big physical strong players that when you bring them down to the ground when you tackle them is going to hurt. You're gonna feel it. It might not happen the first time it might not happen. Snap sixteen might not happen in the second quarter. It might not happen on. Snap number forty six but at the game wears on and on and on and you have to deal with that brutality. The team that both resembles the stanford cardinal under david shaw when those gaffer in terms of the physicality of that team from an offensive standpoint. It wears down on and because of that you have the main wearer down. Which is derrick henry by the fourth quarter. Man after being in a game like this motherfucker Touch they gathered to tackle the guide anymore. I mean there is a don't want to when that time period cover. That's the time. When derrick henry starts motoring that's the time when derrick henry starts moving and grooving so it's tough. It's tough you throw in the fact that the resurrection of ryan tannehill continues going into sunday. Or what sixteen and seven. Since he became the star and includes three playoff win that includes beating the baltimore ravens fourteen to baltimore. Ravens breeding them soundly last season. That's a situation where they lead kids city seventeen nothing in the afc championship game on the road before it gives the exploded so bows garrett who is going to be back from being kobe. Nineteen list. It's going to have its hands full in we speak about you know now quarterbacks being impact players in the nfl you can throw in a aaron donald court from the defensive side of the field but myles garrett is right there. I mean he's right. Up there with the jalen ramsey of the world and those type of player the tj watts of the world and terms of the impact that he can have the type of a player that he is but because tennessee is more of a smash mouth football team. The guy who ranks third in saxony nfl might not be able to get as many opportunities because as i mentioned before tennessee wanting to establish the run. So it'll be an interesting game. I think tennessee is going to win. will there be any type of positively or will there be lead like i don't feel orange slices participation trophies. If the cleveland browns can hang a walk off the field by say you know what we can fucking play with his team. I mean how far will that go. If it's if it's a it's a close game of tennessee blows amount beats him up. Then you know. I don't know the morale moving forward for the matches for the cleveland browns team up for the organization and the fan base itself. But you know as i mentioned before with eight and three even though there are a couple of days behind pittsburgh beginnings behind pittsburgh and still having baltimore nipping at the heels. Despite the fact that they're not six and five It's a it's a game. Where if cleveland loses depending upon how they lose. I don't think it would be that big of an impact if they get blown out and like i said before it could be a bigger impact that way but we'll see what makes spring Wonderful as far as watching football concern when does willman sports. I'm your host window wallace so glad that you could be with us the other game that. I'm interested in the indianapolis colts seven and four at the houston texans for seven. You know that houston foreign three under interim head coach romeo cornell after going four with bill. O'brien at the head coach down i. Three of the four games were brutal. There's no shame and losing to the kids cities defending shop cheviots. No shame in the game. The luther pittsburgh's shaving in the game to lose the baltimore shaming the game duluth minnesota though was dropped at forum was kind of like bill. You gotta go. I got more mainly. I got fired because they realized we fucking traded. He tweeted out. Drew hopkins for who but since one at five after losing to a tendency in overtime forty two thirty six a game that they should've won if they wanna make the two point conversion and losing the green bay thirty five to twenty look after that juices beat jacksonville. New england detroit and between losing the cleveland. At cleveland in Element type game tend to seven. So they're they're sniffing this sniffing the outside the playoff spot. I mean two wins away from being a win away from being a major player in the in the playoffs. So who sean watching. I wanna keep saying the name. Because despite the fact of the record that the texans have i think that he is should be. I think that he should be talked about in terms of Mvp consideration if he continues to play this way not saying that he's doing to win it. But i think in terms of speaking about bringing up the discussion even for second. I think the way that he's playing. Despite the fact that three games under five hundred. I think the shot. The sean is playing that type of ball the where he should be mentioned and mvp discussions. He's been greatly ever since o'brien fired. He's been unleashed. I mean one. Twenty point three passer rating since week five which holds the rest of the season it would be the third highest passer rating among qualified. Qb's after week five and then fell history. That's been scully stat for you. His best wide receiver though. It's gonna be hard because bent wide receiver. Woeful there's going to be suspended each suspended for the rest of the season because he violated the nfl policy on performance enhancing drugs. And you're also speaking about the starting quarterback for the texas bradley roby. He's also done for the year because he violated the performance. Enhancing protocol for the nfl. Slow your speaking about t. y. Hilton for the indianapolis colts. Eating the houston texans for lunch breakfast and dinner and in between meals from what he's done in the sixteenth career games against utah call eighty five passes for over fifteen hundred yards and ten touchdowns and now texas houston. Texans don't have the best cornerback to line up against them. Bad news bad news bad news so look indeed. Didn't have their best player available again. The ford butler. He's still on the covert nineteen less. We still don't know if he's going to be able to play on sunday. But texans aren't some trouble taxes aren't trouble without wolf fuller on mean Sean turn him into a really competent wide receiver. Get detroit he caught seven passes for buck forty. But you're taking a look right now at the texans playoff position. I need a miracle to get into contention there one game behind the patriots. Two games behind las vegas and baltimore. Three games behind miami and indi who occupied is number six and seven seats in the playoffs. Seven teams the top seven seeds to make the play. Also they've got to be like some type of beta catastrophe With the colts in the dolphins and the ravens in even the raiders. For the texans to even think about making the playoffs. But as i mentioned before on my last podcast if detroit shooting and get to eight naacp seventy nine nine seven and sean continues to play like. He's playing another currently tie for eleven with the denver broncos but even if he can bring him up to ninth or something like that with a five hundred regular above yemen. Let people know that shawn watson was considered for. mvp let that shine glow in glow in global. Because the shawn watson franchise quarterback windows. World is sports on your host wanted to wallis of lead. You could be with us last game touch on in the nfl genes of interest. The la rams seven four played against the are at the arizona cardinals. Sixty five both teams coming off bad losses. Both on game-ending field goals arizona losing to the patriots twenty seventeen the ram lose again home. Do of san francisco forty niners over the twenty seven twenty four thirty twenty seven. Something like that so interested in the matchup between jalen ramsey and dr dre hopkins. That's going to be pretty good. I'm wondering if the rams are going to be able to run. The football against the arizona defense has given up one hundred and twenty three yards per game the quarterback for actually mentioned one time. What game with that. I think it was the game. What game afterwards. I talk about chi-wood murray being considered for the mvp if he continues the play like he's playing a game where it was getting buffalo. Where hopkins saved his ass by making incredible catch but He's he's got a sore shoulder so we don't know what's going to be about that so we'll see if Diesel beginning any type of running plays or anything like that. But that's the other game interested in the rams and the cardinals big game for both of those teams for the rams getting back to their perch atop the nfc west and four the cardinals to get themselves back into playoff contention. Wendell's world sports the podcast. I'm your host win the wallace so glad that you could be with us halo Time for beat. You pull almost superman cape time for me to take off the glasses time for me to go to the phone booth time to take off my shirt. Show the s on my chest time for me to Rescue chris collins worth boy. Mel boy made a very tamed. I'd say sexist comment during the wednesday afternoon broadcast of the baltimore ravens game against the pittsburgh steelers. He said i'm a fan everybody's event. I guess he was talking about the a pittsburgh fan base. Everybody's a fan. That particular the ladies that i met who boy. They had all had really specific questions about the game. And i'm like wow you're just blown away about how strong the fans are here in this town. Well oh man that just he let he let he lit that fuse and it went boom now. He mentioned the fact that you know. Hey everybody the fans here in. This town are unbelievable. The tactic they're great particularly the ladies. Unbelievable i can't believe it. Well who and killing him. The sports columnist for the san francisco chronicle. She tweeted so far. This year chris collins worked had made fun of wearing masks and seem stunned. That ladies know about football maybe the nfl could fill him in about their viewership demographics. He seemed to be a newbie to this game. All right all right. And i got news for you. Chris collins knows about evidently more about football. The new stop please julie. The coral the senior writer editor at deadspin she wrote on a site that titled dear chris collins worth i have. I have some really specific questions about your sexism. All right all right all right all right any apple g. The writer journalist Nfl mom she wrote let black woman to she wrote. Still shaking my head. That cosworth was shocked that women no in watch football and that we have specific questions about the game someone. Please tell chris we do have. Tv's in the kitchen. All right all right all right All right michelle martinelli. She writes for the win. Usa today sports very blog. She tweeted no dude seems surprised that women are knowledgeable about things. That's just a good rule. The follow whether you are talking about sports or woodworking or interior design or engineering or cooking or astrophysics or whatever. All right all right all right all right all right ladies ladies please condo calm down now. What calls were said new. I wouldn't have said it probably will kept to myself. I read this when over this. I'll be the first one to tell you as a guy who watches football as a guy. He loves football to the podcast. I when i looked up looked it up and turn the women watching sports. I was surprised. I have to admit i was surprised according to a terrace element of the boston globe. Nfl rating numbers continued to show. The women are the fastest growing segment of the league's viewing fan base. I had no idea. I had no idea. And let them make me a sexist. It didn't make me that. I think that women should be pregnant in the kitchen barefoot. I had no idea. I don't follow too much the demographics of who watches football and what watches football. My main interest in football is which teams are good which teams are ban can washington football team. Please do something to get rid of daniel. Snyder can the washington football team. Continue to lose. So we can get ourselves a franchise. Quarterback can shawn watson continued to play. Well pecking mahomes. It's amazing the. Las vegas raiders. Were doing their thing. Going to be allowed to go back to the to the stadiums who did what who sacks. Who made the both passing yards who've made the most impactful plays in the game from a day to day week to week military minute assessment and watching and learning and being in caring about the nfl. That's what i focused on. Who watches the game. Who doesn't watch the game. What gender race. whatever. I don't know i haven't really put too much time into checking the numbers to see. Exactly how many women. How many men. How many gays. How many lesbians. How many blacks and jews. How many republicans. How many folks from the north west coast from other countries have watched football games. I i haven't done my research on that. I'm sorry that makes me sexist and that makes me Whatever then guilty as charged by never really put that much thought an emphasis on women watching football. I i don't care if they watch football or not. I watched football. I don't care men watch it. I don't care black people watching. I don't care gay people like it. I don't care if he just like it. I know that i like it. I know it's a very popular sport. So fucking good enough for me. So i and you know what i think. That's also what chris coon was worth thinks. Only chris college were to spend a lot of time going over the fact of who watches football. And who doesn't. I shocked again. I have a lot of friends who are no. I have a lot of female. And they'll have a female friends currently goddamn it but you know throughout my long life here and most females that. I've known all that kind of stuff. They don't watch football they don't watch football out of the percentage of female that i've known about ninety eight percent of them haven't what don't watch football not interested in football. Could care less about football so there you go so the fact that these numbers are showing that women are the fastest growing segment of people watching football. Great fantastic wonderful awesome. But i had no idea foss fox sports executive vice president head of strategy and in lenox. Mike mobile said that we're seeing what we're seeing is not only women's viewership up but it is up at a greater rate than that of men and i men whining and complaining all the time. Because you know colin kaepernick taking the league all these other bullshit that they're gonna be watching football anymore. So maybe there's a situation where more men care about that stupid shit. The women do but viewership is up through week. Five at fox bowl ville said that the sunday nfl packages up nine percent of women viewers in the twenty five to fifty four demographic five percent among men and that the thursday night football package is up seventeen percent among women in nine percent among men. He's also said we'd been playing paying close attention to the trend among female viewers. Because i feel like is going to have an impact on our future goals of the business of the nfl. Not terribly surprised by it. Because i feel it's a trend. That's been a long time coming wonderful great but look i got an. I got something to say to the women out here who are going to bash. Who are raked. Chris collins worth over the coals. Who are gonna columnists sexist in all this kind of stuff for all of you women. Who are doing that. I've got two words for you. Fuck you especially fucking white women. I'm through with y'all i am. I am really upset with you all right now. I really don't give a fuck what you think right now because upset disappointed is really the tone that i wanna set here. You guys around here you women out here talking about okay cosworth. The sexes all college. Were this cows worth their you. Batman you beg shame on you. Chris collins worth fifty five percent of women who are white voted for in voted for donald trump and the us elections. Fuck you about complaining and whining about chris. collins worth making a semi. lame probably shouldn't said it but a very benign comment about women watching football made it. Yeah there's any other. But i'm not losing my mind or not going to twitter or i'm not gonna call him a sexist again. Fifty five percent of white women voted for a guy. Who's a fucking massage us. Who says yeah. He won't be are the great thing about being a celebrity. I can grab women by the pussy. And i can get away with it. Fifty five fucking facility. Women voted for that motherfucker to run a country to the ground to hell and back for four more fucking years and you want to talk about his collins worth being a sexist fox you get the fuck out of my faith. That bullshit fifty. Five percent of white women voted for that motherfucker. Latino women voted for that motherfucker. Nine percent of black women voted for that of fucker. How fucking sam bush can you be. If you're black. Vote for that motherfucker. Who has clearly stated. I don't give a damn about you. I don't give a damn about you. Thirty percent of latino women voted for a motherfucker who is separating the children putting them in cages. And you're still gonna vote for them all fucker. You're gonna sit there and talk about. Chris collins worth because he made one benign semi ridiculous comment concerning women following sports in following football. Get the fuck outta here priorities. Ladies priorities then look fifty. Five percent of white women voted for the pizza but white house currently for another fifty something days was means a forty five percent of women actually had the brains actually had. The common sense actually had the decency to do the right thing. Sin thing was seventy percent of latino women thing but ninety one percent of black women. So yeah i get it. I talking about y'all but man. Please give give me a break about chris collins worth i remember back in the day. What black women when When rap ribbon snoop lawless type of i love them bitches now love them hoes and all that and the other and they were asking women. Black women is being. Do you find it offensive. That that you know you have these rappers out here. Black women hoes and bitches and all this kind of stuff bitching nothing and all that kind of stuff and you black women's response was no because he ain't talking about me. I know that he's talking about the bitches in the holes in this case that he's talking about what this bitch and so he's talking about them he ain't total about me so man y'all women can like you know. Put that shit in my different category with the with the quickness to look again the chris colors which what he said what he said was. I wouldn't have said it. i can't with. Hey you know what. I'm just amazed by the fans here. And how knowledgeable they are. How passionate they are. I think a fantastic. I'm an will. I might have said something like. Hey i think is fantastic and see the women out here al how you know how great they are and how knowledgeable. They are just fantastic. And i think that's wonderful. I might have gone. That route would put mill fingers both on my twitter account. If i would have done pushback from that but for him to be surprised and all that kind of stuff i mean you know i i see it i see it. I wouldn't have said it. Because i know what kind of world we live in but i mean again. No one's calling for chris collins worth be fired or anything like not any of that nonsense wedding. He had to go on twitter and talk about. I'm sorry the other stuff. I would have been like man. I'm surprised on my sports. You if you want to call me sexists whatever monkey go fucking vote for the guy who says he thinks it's so cool that he can get away with pulling is pulling his hand on someone's crotch the your private areas. How cool that is. Maybe you can go ahead and vote for a guy who determine your future. A guy who i don't know was cheating on his wife while While she was doing some other stuff while she was I dunno whatever the fuck it was but basically bullshit white women. Y'all no no no you see. You can't see this but i have to middle fingers up at y'all especially for fifty five percent of y'all go fuck yourself when you talk about sex and all that kind of stuff the women of the metoo movement get with these fucking losers get with these idiots get with these jackasses un fucking believable. The fifty five percent thirty percent in the nine percent who decided that you know what i'd rather have some guy who is completely against world going against debt the metoo movement get with them. Educate them and don't worry about chris. Cows was worth making some benign statement. Saying how leave is silly. The nice way he wasn't making a joke about it only wasn't demeaning anybody who wasn't putting anybody down he was just like hey. I think it's great. I think it's wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised. Fine puts a big fucking ladies unbelievable. Unbelievable check yourself. Women the fifty five percent of white women. Thirty percent of latino women nine percent of black women in whoever whatever. The rest of the racial makeup voted for that motherfucker. That's getting out of the white house down a couple of weeks or a month or so. Check yourselves in terms of your ignorant nation tour people being sex one fourth on your host one wallet. Very quickly fading the worst for last. Oh boy georgetown. I love my d. I still love my team. You can't call me a front rudder. I like the washington football team. The washington wizards like the washington nationals. I mean washington capitals. I guess whatever and allow my georgetown hoyas how many of those teams have been like elite for past what three decades. I guess you could say the word clayton. Georgetown hoyas basketball right now. Embarrassing pathetic nowhere to go but up maybe mighty rock bottom. And i'm not talking about the bottom from the rock. The rock bottom for the program. Under patrick ewing. I don't know man. Could you get worse this has to be. I mean we've had them bad losses in the last three years. I mean some embarrassing losses. But i don't know if losing to navy seventy sixty two on tuesday evening that if that's not the worst in euro is right there close and over beats beats getting blown out by the paul a couple of years ago but It's close six possessions path before either team got on the board start game. John carter falling valley davar blair in the act of shooting from beyond the arc so of course after about the first four possessions us going to be one of these games so maybe led twenty nine twenty six at the half. Georgetown finish the first half shooting. Just twenty five percent from the field. Missy tannen fifteen from three point range navy on the other hand. Starting nobody saw than six seven had twenty seventeen advantage on the boards at the half for the game. I think the outscored. Georgetown like forty two twenty two on a pain or something like that again jordan. Have anybody navy. Didn't have anybody over six seven second half a plane. Georgetown started off pretty strong. Navy hug around. Georgetown one into one of their predictable. Droughts where they couldn't make a shot navy then you know ultimately started playing like a division one basketball team so down to six thirty eight left. The play Davis sank a long three pointer to give navy league for the first time. They wouldn't relinquish it at sixty one sixty. They extended it to three on a gold term by timothy eagle. Hefei why in these fuck is. He's still playing at this point in the game. I have no idea then. A driving layup by davis gave the midshipmen a three point. Lead at the five minute mark. Sixty five sixty two then often missed three pointer from georgetown. Surprise surprise john. Carter sank a three pointer. Put it up. Sixty eight sixty two after me. Yelling screaming throwing kicking cursing the lord and everything else. david shredded the georgetown pivot with an easy basket that the three eleven mark did make it. Seven hundred. sixty two resignations set in. And i just said we're gonna lose to navy. Three pointer from jalen harris brought georgetown within six at two thirty to forty. Three mark buckling damn do but consecutive georgetown turnovers converted in the side for a seventy six sixty eight lead entering the final minute and i just hated everybody. Who's ever like on planet earth with the exception on my parents. Burrell davis m my goddaughter and his family navy shot sixty percent from the field in the second half georgetown which is five or sixteen for the three point line in the second half navy navy fucking navy not scholarship fucking navy. Had the two best players on the floor by a wide fucking morgan. Do you hear that. You're marco picket. Do you hear that giovane blair. Do you hear that jalen harris. Do you hear that to ball. Do you fucking hear that. Dante harris do you hear that cuba's hob navy done scholarship. Navy had two of the best players all the floor by mile. Kim davis and john collar forty eight points between them. Eighteen or twenty nine shooting from the floor. Eight of fourteen from the three point line committed one turnover between them navy navy. Scholarship devi patriot league basketball navy. Me could you imagine having those two guys. Let me if we could ship off. Jalen harris ingeba trade jalen harris in japan blair for ken davidson john carter. I swear we might finish like seventh or eighth a conference now with their coaching. Who knows but we didn't. We will do better with those two guys and we could trace seniors. How many people right now. Who are georgetown. Fans wouldn't trade demarco picket in japan. Blair for kim davis and john carter right now. I do that move twelve hundred ten times. I will do that. Move eight days a week. I would do that. Move twenty five hour today. I would do that move. Three hundred seventy days a year. Japan demarco picket. Each has seventeen points to swap has sixteen point seven rebounds. Now jalen harris did play. Well i mean. I'll give him that. He had double figures three or five for the three point. Line a step back three. I was like what the fuck you ooh. That pretty good so he. He did play well in the second. Half seven assists Limited turnover so jalen harrison. Wealthy did well. We did well on anybody but he did. Well but the team shop forty two percent from the field thirty two percents of the three point line for the game Coach doing i am. I'm back in your. I'm still back in your but that was a horrendous. Coaching game. i. I i don't know i mean that was bad. That was bad did toby. Clark has ten rebounds. The first game played seven minutes the second game. He didn't play the second half. I thought that I thought that Colin powell played better than to bile. Continue to go with him. Instead of playing a colin holloway. Why thought played pretty well. You couldn't increase kobe. Clark's i mean. It seemed like kobe clark mediate barrel. Have the same type of game energy guys. Rebound guys hustle A defensive guys. I mean i mean. He threw up some shots from three point line. I was like what in the holy. Fuck are you doing. Jamaica pig up. Threw up a shot right side. Second-half shot that hit the high backboard high backboard way outside the rim wasn't even close. Georgetown threw up some shots. That were mind blowing. -ly laughably unbelievably ridiculous. It was it was it was it was like it was embarrassing. They draw is like it was like if someone was playing. If kids is playing like a really sorry d three school in the d three player drove here like he was some five eight nine athletic guy going up against some first round. Nba lottery pick. And it's all right. Try to get off your shot without getting blocked any tried to do all these condemnations twisting and all this trying to stop all this type of movie flops. Shot in the ball wouldn't even come close to the rim. I swear i think counted for the game maybe injured or shot from georgetown. That looked like that note. No chance of going in it look ridiculous it was just mind blowing like how would you still a division one basketball player. You play your scholarship basketball player at a high major university. You motherfuckers can play no matter how bad you look. You can play great basketball players. But jesus flip for the level. That were playing. What in the hell with that clark julie. A vial timothy ego have paid dirty. Here's the bench players for georgetown shot for eleven from the field. Oh from five from the three point. Line one fucking point one point to mind no field goals one fucking point. I don't know man. I play what virginia at home on. Sunday. i'm gonna watch. I know we're gonna get our asses kicked. I mean what with gonzaga for most of the game with the number one team that country and looks really really good. Where we're we're gonna get destroyed. This is going to be a down year. I know this was going to a down year. Everybody was preparing for a down year in and look. It's one game. It's the second game of the season you've got nine. New players just started practice late because of the pandemic. You're living in ridiculous situations to where you go straight from the gym to your room. I mean this is just. I mean this year is just you know everything. It just thrown into wack thrown out thrown lawak so for all the years for georgetown. The have a bad team in that tried to improve and try to gain the maximum amount of potential from the team. I mean you put that in in a situation like this. I knew i had a strong indication. I sat a strong inclination that we were gonna lose to navy. But it's like saying it actually happening is like two totally different things. I know we're gonna get blue. I just wanna competitive game could keep the loss to what virginia between twelve in eighteen. I'll be happy now. Of course we'll lose by fifteen. And i'll be crying uncontrollably for like four hours afterwards but no seriously. My realistically is like just play hard. Just fucking play hard. That's all i want for you guys to play hard and coach pulling guys who are going to play hard. We ain't making the tournament this year. Yeah i know. I know that you want to win basketball games but come coach. I mean let's be real here. We go into the tournament. We don't even know if there's gonna be a term but even if there is a we go into the ncaa tournament where we pick land for a reason. You said it yourself that you were coaching the other team. You will picked this last soul. You know that there's no like you know there's no way miracle here putting in some guys from just wanna play hard even if they're not ready. I mean kobe clark. At basketball player has a lot of work to do in terms of his skill. Set especially at the offense have been with. That guy plays fucking hard. I mean he plays hard so if he's gonna be train wreck on offense knee might not know what to do defense and at least he's playing hard at least he's trying hard. I swore five. We're going to try hard. I mean what's the big deal. If we lose a fifteen or forty a loss loss. I mean there are no bad loss at this year coach. We ain't getting in the we get in the ncaa. So what's the point. Who cares about whether how badly we lose. We are not beating west virginia. We are not beating delicate. We are not beating creighton. We are not being villanova. Those teams are going to embarrass us. There is no rainbow. There is no ncaa birth possible. There is no avenue for postseason. Play there is no. We're not talented enough. We're not good enough. We're not experienced enough. This year's too fucked up to even try to try to you know. Get some talent from this group to make it to where we're even contenders it ain't happened. So let's just.
