"It's magic. It's going to go in the magic. It's a miracle and all of those things, but all of those should we go back through Nancy Pelosi talk telling everyone to go to China Town in the middle of the freaking panda. We should all nobody will. Yes, we should. Some have more than others, but almost Everybody has statements from February and March that are bad. They're beginning. Nobody. They're not nearly as bad as like an Andrew Cuomo. Who has, you know 15,000 of these types of statements. What are your thoughts on Andrew Palmer? How much time do you have that I'd like to get into that, but you know, it's It's fascinating to see that because it has nothing to you. The idea that what they're doing is trusting the science or trusting the experts isn't even accurate, right? Right? Like they think they pick the ones that they agree with him at that time. You know they were They will be absolutely if Ouchy comes out tomorrow and says, You know what we need to I mean. They were talking about this in the World Health Organization came out and said, What we need to do is avoid avoid full shutdowns. Like everything we conducive to avoid full shutdowns we should do which makes sense. The World Health Organization said that Yeah, but but that that now the World Health organization doesn't agree with what they want. So now they can disregard that it's not about listening to experts is listening to them. That is the bottom line here. Anybody who happens to get expert that aligns with them. They will be in the shining light for a certain amount of time. And then when they start disagreeing, they will go away and they will become, they will become quacks again. It's the exact same thing with climate change and the Michael Shellenberger. I mean, they don't want to listen to him at all anymore. He's a cook now. And a complete He's a quack 40 year environmental activist. Yeah, the guy who's been working who's a guy who literally went to support and see the Sandinistas. I mean, this is a super liberal guy Socialist back in the day. Yeah. Super liberal, progressive his whole life and look at the evidence and said, You know what? Oh, gosh. None of it's catastrophic. It's not catastrophic. There's a happening. Yes, it's not catastrophic sits a problem. He thinks these things we should do about it, but not catastrophic. Stop trying to scare everyone and stuff. Trying to spend trillions of dollars on it because it's not necessary. In fact, according and he goes to what I love about that book, which is called Apocalypse, Never write. What I love about it is he goes to the sources that everybody's sites for the apocalypse and finds out. That's not what they're saying at all. It's really amazing how often He was able to find Shellenberger because Bjorn Lomborg just came out with a book. That was kind of on the same that both of those books as brothers and sisters are fantastic. Both of you should get Because you'll go back and refer to him 100 times or you're talking to your friends about the climate. But Shellenberger, in particular was able to take thes things that have been permeated the media calling claims about the climate and go and not on Ly just say, Actually, this is what the report says, are actually This is ah, This is what the truth is, which is really valuable. He was able to go to the scientists to the very source who supposedly said it and interview them and then have them. Tell Shellenberger they were misquotes. I can't recommendable Kylie enough. It's incredible test. It really is incredible. It's an incredible of, you know, and and look. This is why it's it's. It's sold well, but it's being ignored by the mainstream media. There's a guy who was a teller there, not challenge him on this stuff. The first time I ever heard of Michael Shellenberger was when he was in a documentary for CNN. Yeah, that's what he was on CNN in the documentary. Now he's he's the enemy. And his his main point in there is because he's been hearing so often any sick and tired of hearing it because it's scaring the crap out of Children worldwide like Greta Fun. Burg, for instance, who's scared out of her mind and running around screaming at the sky is falling and he's try to tell them No, it isn't falling. The sky is not falling. So his is one of his big things is that there's no such thing as this apocalypse or this. Extinction event. With humankind, its just not happening. Not in 10 years, not in 20 years, not 100 years. Nobody's predicting that And yet last week or the week before, Joe, Biden said, tells us we have nine years. Before the damage is irreversible. It's not what it says They don't sit down both of those books. They don't say that. No, they don't say that at all. You know, there's another claim that 187 million people Are going to be underwater. If we don't do anything about global warming, and when you look at that, you're like cash. That's wow. That would be that's a lot of people really bad, terrible problem with The problem with this is going to rise all at once and envelope, Everybody you know or thinks about these things right? Then just say it 187 million people. Longboard goes through this and do not move before now. That's exactly what they say that there is a paper that says 187 million people will be underwater. And what it says is if humans don't adapt in anyway, so okay right now, Large swaths of the area they're talking about, are already quote unquote underwater there below sea level, right? So, but what they've done is adapted the society so people can live their right if water like the Netherlands, another shambles than he does. And he talked about how you could spend $100 trillion on climate to try to adjust the temperature enough to make this happen. And it still wouldn't happen for multiple decades. Or you could spend $20 billion on you know a different way of flood. Ah, apparatus that would make the flood not happen, Which is, of course, what everyone does right if you if you have If you had a house on the beach, and there was erosion and the and the water level is rising, you might raise your sea wall by a foot. I think that's what people do in those situations. Another one pet they have, and these are the Ah go back to the to finish off on the flooding thing. 187 million people would have to flood. They say if people take basic Measures in this in the report that everyone is putting. If people take basic measures. It's more like 300,000 over the next, like 50 years. No. Okay, 300,000 over 50 years is, I guess is somewhat significant, right? I guess you could still say it's a few 1000 a year. However, when you look at that, with the accompanying Improvements when you don't spend $100 trillion on climate, and instead you spend it on things that make people healthy and more and stronger buildings and better structures and maybe some.

"I cannot sell him at any price and hoyt extends the Dad. I should say the dads character I think does play into just the last thing I did want to touch on. Is the book end involving Chinatown or at least starting in China Town? And then the Chinese shopkeeper who shows up at the end and it does I agree with you. It gets a little moralising there when he takes Gizmo back in reprimands the DAD for. I think the quote is you do with Mog. Wha What your society has done with all of nature's gifts you do not understand. You are not ready right we are. We got all that but I do think it's interesting that that character shows up again and though the opening sequence in Chinatown indulges in exotic sizing another culture. There's some orientalist there for sure It's also interesting that the dad is kind of the butt of the joke there. The kid cons him into pain more forgives him all right and you can almost read another arc of this film is that it's a morality tale about cultural appropriation which is interesting in twenty twenty context. Because you've got this guy. The Dad and others really who take this creature from another culture disrespected? Use it for their own purposes. He says he says the beginning. Sure kid whatever you say about the rules right. The science teacher falls into this as well. He wants to do experiments on them. So it kind of works at the shopkeeper comes back to shake shake his head at the white suburbanites idiocy there at the end handed. Yeah they lean on it a little too strongly but I do also tempers. What is maybe some uncomfortable use of Chinese characters to yeah? There's no doubt everybody in the film and this fits into that larger commentary. Were discussing everybody in this town that we meet other than maybe billy and Kate and Gizmo are out for themselves whether they mean harm or not. They're absolutely just interested in themselves and I noticed how many times in this film other people that are main characters encounter. Just don't listen to anything. They say nobody is actually listening to any of the warnings. They're given right but he's taking anybody else seriously. They're all just kind of going about their days with their with their blinders on and just focused on themselves so that selfishness is definitely a key aspect of the film. We've talked a lot about these two films. Is there more on ghostbusters that we have to get into? I mean is there. Is there any reason that we need to talk about bill? Murray I suppose or yeah. Yeah get into that. I'm guessing it's because Joshu are actually a little bit negative on one. Peter vink Y- you know I I wouldn't say I'm negative. But it was one of the elements of ghostbusters that I was let down on revisiting as an adult and again he's incredibly funny here Plenty of hilarious moments. You've you've quoted some of minutes. Not just the lines as you describe. Well it's the delivery right it's that Murray attitude but I do think when Sigourney Weaver's when day net one point describes him as a game show host..

I won't really say anything about it just because as Russia when I mean we know that Russia wins. That's just history. it just it resolved in a really cool oil satisfying way and it wasn't like I it's like whether or not is a happy ending isn't even like a relevant question which I think is really appreciate it and now now. I have moved on to stranger things now Catherine. You watched the first season stranger things right. Yes okay. That's that's and I have no okay. I have now watched season one and season two episode one a stranger things now when stranger things came out we talked about on the podcast and I was like it's too scary. I don't see it and you're like it's good. It's not that scary. I think you can watch it. I want to say we were both right because I do experience as pretty scary however I also can watch it. We leave on a light. We commuted when things get really scary because Andrea is also like a scaredy cat which you know. I'm not alone in this but it's it's really worth it like. It's really you rewarding because the show is so good I have wept like PR- pretty much every episode. You'd like the that those kids. Their friendship is so tender eleven's entire back story is I can't like I I colleague. I sobbed after the last episode after the finale of season one. I just couldn't like her back. Story is so tragic and so sad but she's so cool and interesting thing and I'm sure we're GONNA learn more because it's at the end of season one. Her backstory is still pretty mysterious. and Catherine I am living for notoriety. I know the lights the Christmas lights and her maintaining she maintains the this is falling apart at the seams energy for basically the entire first season with the exception of a handful of scenes. She's like completely frantic and she's just so good and it's just it's so rewarding. It's kind of like how I felt seeing. Luke Perry rest in peace play a father on riverdale seeing when ONA Ryder play a mother and just like just she's a good actor and she's great and I'm so glad that she's like back in my life and I know him very late to this. This is like the conversation that was on everyone's lips like four years ago or something but like it's fine. I'm just getting. I'm getting there now but I'm just glad I'm here. What's what matters riders that I got here and I'm just really enjoying. It and I don't know maybe season two won't be as good and maybe there's GonNa be problematic. If I don't know you know like but still yeah a little bit. Catherine just made the next season to really do it for me much but then again it had a lot you know it's a sophomore slump. It happens remember is the season to Landry killed a dude. We don't need to talk about that. Oh man what a what a terrible that probably is on my top ten list of like were story arcs ever in a TV show. It might be number one. I think it's yes really bad stranger. Things is so good. It's so tender and delightful. The music is amazing and and it's like creepy but music oh the music is so so so good. Oh my God so anyway. I don't know I'm just I'm really living for stranger things and it's cool to also because the I think actually both the Americans and stranger things start in nineteen ninety-three and it's just really cool to be watching another period piece and see observed the differences and how both shows like represent the era and I don't know man I just I am really loving. It and I'm really glad that I'm watching it. I'm GonNa give you a spoiler for season to get out of the way when Ryder's character goes forward in time and kills Landry Hendrie. That's sad is the that's the twist I was hoping for yeah so you know once you get over that story twist. It gets good okay cool. I will look forward to that cool okay so Catherine. That's all my Jibril Javer. I just wanted to talk about television wonderful. Let's talk about a thing we did for self care. You're so I've gotten back into the meditation game because I was feeling real stressed about a Lotta. Things stress really does affect your body. No matter what you got going on in your mind and heart and all the other things so you know. I don't want to sound like one of those like just try. Yoga and everything will be fine but if you do find a practice it'll help help sort of get the heart rate down at the breathing little controlled definitely try it for years smoking worked for me and I quit that because it's not good for you but you know seriously a lot of people smoke and they don't realize this and I I learned this when I was quitting. It really helped me. smoking is is a practice of breathing a certain way like in and out in and out there is an aspect of that's meditative and so that's something that I was missing when I quit smoking and so for me. The breathing thing is actually kind of a thing that I didn't realize what's important uh-huh. That's interesting yeah. I can totally see that. I am when I watch. TV shows where people smoke and take great relish smoking like an madman like it does seem like like those deep ass drags that Don draper takes on the cigarettes and then sort of like. Let's it out with his entire body. It does seem incredibly satisfying to do very calming so I don't know maybe I'll start smoking. What so okay I as many the of you know I have my teeth are so sensitive Catherine and as I age they're just getting more sensitive and when I drink in cold stuff they hurt when I drink stuff. They hurt and I got mouthguard made at the dentist..

Have been such a huge help I think so many people now want to visit Vancouver because they haven't been in, a year or two or twenty and so much to. Do and so much to see I know our city has grown leaps and. Bounds and yours has as well so. There's so much to do so thank you so much. For giving us your time today, I'm so excited to share more but. What's happening in Vancouver with everyone so tell us in the last few minutes that, we have here on the show what are some other things that Seattle lights really need to take advantage of when they crossed? The border up in a BBC I think one of the not experiences in Vancouver right, now is checking. Out a neighborhood like south main I'm, gonna them that some of you Seattle, lights have been to Vancouver before but this is an area That's a little bit more focused on locals, and, so and, so we have the ability or we. Would love to invite you to come and see some of the new breweries that are, in the, area. There's a ton of distilleries in this area as. Well and, so with that you could just go. Front Olympic village hop along maybe five to seven different breeze checkout that area and also the the shopping in south, main as well as the great ones so there's more. Of a local focus in that neighborhood and therefore you guys would probably experience. A little bit more of a different. Field than you would just stay in downtown ready entire. Time yes so your beer scene, and your distillery scene has also really. Gained a lot of traction because I think last time I was out in Windsor, I have some failing in Detroit side crossed the bridge over to Windsor and they were saying that this this beers from Vancouver? And that beers fan Vancouver and I thought oh my gosh well just like Seattle where, you go to. Other parts of the country and they're, like Seattle Seattle Seattle beer same kind, of thing in different prov Offenses where you are. As well your beer, scene has really exploded nights distilleries and breweries are, opening their doors in Vancouver yeah you could definitely drink locally entire time you're here there's so much good so much good brewing. And distilling happening in the city so great way to and treat yourself with fun beers during the daytime going out for some cool cocktails and evening definitely something to entertain yourself with for the. Weekend. And I'd say Vancouver would you say this is a foodie town absolutely I don't think there's anything Vancouverites like to do more than other than, explore nature of quiet right that's similar to you guys so within Cooper, you've bought that's great diversity especially with Asian cuisine so you could do an authentic noodles authentic like, almost every kind. Of, Asian ethnicity you could explore a very restaurant in Vancouver and there's also some awesome fusion, elements, happening as, well Kifah tanto which is in China Town they won Canada's best new restaurant last year, and on route magazine And they have. A bit of a Japanese in, Italian kind of lean to the menu so it's not quite blended items but definitely borrowed techniques. From each kind of cuisine and showcasing and highlighting not. On the menu so beautiful room as well not be missed in Vancouver I want you to go ahead and say that restaurant one more time because Yeah keep that tanto and it's in Chinatown I mean to. Win all those accolades to be one of the best in the country is, pretty amazing yeah we have an amazing contenders in Vancouver for that so Savia Volpe is. Also another amazing Italian restaurant in Vancouver botanist which is new, at the Fairmont Pacific rim and more high end in. Gunning design of the of the dining. Room and high end food they have a cocktail out. There where, you can get kind of those really really fancy elements to like the essence of loss. At at the part of your, cocktails if you really want to kind of have a cocktail experience that would be a place. To go and do that possum Sasha McLean from toys. And Vancouver thank you so much for joining us on adventures await thank you I was really fun yeah. Take care For anyone summer's ending find. Out how to make. A best memories this, Labor Day weekend afterward from our partner you knew the. Risks when you decided to drive drunk there could be a, crash people could get. Hurt or killed. But that didn't stop you did, it you knew you could get arrested you can incur huge legal expenses and. You could possibly even lose your job you were well, aware of the consequences of. Driving drunk but one. Thing's. For sure You were. Wrong when you said it was no big deal drive.
