Fresh update on "chile chile" discussed on BBC World Service

"The country indicate a large majority has voted in favor of changing the Constitution Constitution that dates back. To the days of General Pinochet. The current president, Sebastian Pinera, said the new charter should reflect the democratic values of the country and protect the rights and aspirations of all Chileans. Why was the referendum cold? I've been speaking to political scientist Patricio Navia, who lectures in Chile and in America in New York University. Now he's got quite a lot of criticism in recent weeks for his reservations about the usefulness of changing the Constitution. Even though it represents for many an unpleasant reminder of the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Some people perceive the Constitution to be to me or Debo. They went to stronger state and they want more public sector sector services. They want more social rights and that was the main driver in support for the new constitutions are the expectations that the new Constitution we have a stronger state. That will provide more social rights to everyone, including better pinch. This is the kind of argument that has taken people to the streets since last year in the complaints against Metro Price tickets and chilli as well, What was it not UN reform herbal. I mean, surely it's the fact that it's associated with the dictatorship that that makes people feel uncomfortable wearing a sort of, you know an old suit of clothes to put it that way. It is reform a ble. But the legitimacy of forage in is always a big problem that the Constitution always reminds people off its origin, and that's why many people want to change. The results of the perhaps a misconception and Chile. Many people believed that the high levels of inequality that presently has associated to the constitution so they want a new constitution to reduce the high levels of inequality. And that's probably going to be a much more difficult challenge for the new constitution or for any constitution, for that matter, as chili and all Latin American countries have very high levels of inequality. And that hasn't changed Despite many countries changing the constitution. Is there a general consensus on what a new constitution should look like? Well, the problem is that in America has bean that new constitutions tend to be like Christmas trees. They have a little present for everyone. But enforcing those social rights becomes very, very difficult on constitutions in Latin America tend to have a lot of unfunded mandate. So people have high expectations about what the Constitution will provide. But then governments do not have the resources to full field, those unfunded mandate and in the end people and that being disappointed on they want new political change. And that's why the region is so politically unstable yet, isn't it quite admirable that if people want change in their country, they go back to root branch and they decide they're going to rebuild from the beginning. When you think of the kind of emotions associated with the American Constitution, But I'm sure many Latin American constitution zzzz well, it becomes a statement of intent provided that in the end that you make some progress. The big challenge Chile Chile has a have now is that they need the country needs to solve someone for the problems that true good. The riots. Otherwise, there will be discontent and eventually there will be some leaders that we rise and say, Let's make chili grade again. Let's go back to the ofthe Constitution, so their talent to have four chiller is a complicated challenge precisely because they're trying to put to rest the complicated past off much of dictatorship. They see people who don't follow chili would have maybe maybe being surprised that the specter of the old dictator is still so strong. It still seems to haunt people and is is an urgent part of discussion now. Well that to some extent, the success she has had over the past 30 years is also associated to the Pinochet dictatorship. So that's why I often refer to Chile as look Skywalker from Star Wars and Pinochet would be the death data of TVs, so it's difficult to do away with the past. Because it is precisely based on the reforms that Venus had implemented That T they developed so much over the past three years, but the country's remains highly unequal, and that's the part that really needs to deal with in the next our face. Patricio Navia, who lectures at New York University, also in Chile, as well. Fascinating background to the constitutional vote pretty overwhelming, but his petition was saying Also, the turnout was rather lower than expected. So 78% approval But around 50% turnout, however, course that's going have been affected by Cove. It, isn't it. Right there just eight days to.

"Welcome my girl tonight. I just want to let you guys. We met one night. We were bullock La at the club. We were extreme batting. Yeah it's stream fighting Buzi Veloso five and these two girls were literally like the white man who does a tight wire across the gray anion on heels this long dancing and work in. And we're like we need to know y'all y'all come party. Etta linked up linked up. And we've been friends ever since two dropping it low. That was a fun night burn night. Yeah there's no way she's out with the people she was I with the people in Chile Chile cheers to that graduated into it. I gotTa get strange. You get into it. Thank you new record. Save Room for us. Yeah out a million a week in a week. What's it like? That fans are responding to this new. Sound it honestly means everything because this is me you know like before. I think I was learning kind of coming up in the game finding my way and I felt really great to be in the position with my previous record label to release. My first vote was two point five albums and learned a lot. Got To work with all these different producers collaborate with so many different amazing artists. But I felt kind of towards the end of that experience that I wasn't hundred percent being true to like who I needed to be. And that was for. Like a zillion different reasons. It's really hard to pinpoint like one particular reason or it was over the course of a seven year relationship with that situation so I found myself in the place where I just felt like I needed to step back like fine pause in my life really reinvent and become artists that I felt that I truly like was an and just continue on like a trajectory that I was headed towards. I felt like I was kind of like coasting through my career like going through the motions instead of doing what you really really wanted. Artists come here and all they want is at record deal. They want apple to see them. They want to be a part of that. And you had it and then you let it go. Was that a mind for you to like say. Ok. I'm going to do this on my own. Yes myself. It's a big risk right because you lose that kind of machine that kind of solidifies like a lot of different things way budgets. Like making sure that you know you get your stuff out there at first. It seems like okay. How am I going to actually even function as an artist without this machine? That has been internationally pushing me for so long. You know there's so many different components that go into it and I think for me Taking that risk felt like a better option than to continue on what I was doing before like I had to for my soul like take it there. I had to like for me. It felt very very much like spiritual like an instinct calling to like. I have to you know this is. This is the time. This is the perfect opportunity. Gobert Sean you said like there's a spider. My house yeah. I'm not just going to kill spider. I'M GONNA burn the whole month and read somewhere that you've fired fired. You parted ways with everybody. Everybody here in makeup. You parted ways with the you party ways with lawyers rainbows managers lawyers businessmen and Jerry's style literally across the Board. Just wanted to be like clean slate. I'm GonNa just from the ground up really reduce. I connect reconnected with a lot of people that I was really great friends with and I've I guess also kind of re affirmed the of my friendships in this industry because the have built a lot of like really genuine relationships. And I think that those have also really kind of kicked into gear in taking me to another place where I'm using actual real creative energy and people around me instead of kind of just. I don't know it's hard. It's hard to describe but like when you're kind of in sometimes a label situation at least in my experience. It feels like there's this disconnect between the artists and Mike. Every thing that happens like even like collaborations like you don't really talk to the artists when you collaborate with them or like say you like yeah you WanNa like create something you WanNa do something. There's always this transactional situation that happens. Let's let's bring that to people who don't realize slumber party Britney Spears. Oh my God when you collaborate with the Britney are you in the studio with Britney or are you talking about her looks I send you a track and say we want you to be on this. Yes yes yes. Yes which is very typical of situations so it just feels very much more natural. Now that I'm having to kind of reach out to people myself make those connections myself and it feels more valuable and just feels like everything. There's a better synergy that I do. Because you Rick Rubin right now in the sense reminding do this at Your House. You do this on your own my own space in my own environment which feels really comfortable and really genuine authentic which. I think people can tell the difference. You know. There's so much. Fake Ness in the world that people have really a craving and looking for authenticity. Whatever that means even if that means like being independent doing stuff on your own now how did you find friends in the music industry? Because I feel like it's the mother. Oh yeah everybody answer themselves. It's Ache I feel I. Can you explain this to me? We went on a hike that everybody's just offer themselves. How do you find those authentic artists that are actually friends? And who are there for you during this process? I think again. That's kind of what I've really been able to realize a lot with this current time period. Because I've been able to see who is there for just for the art or is there just for me as a as a friend or as the support system. I've really been able to find out who those people are and I think. Yeah real genuine friendships. Maybe in the music industry can be few and far between but I think that you can still find great collaborative friendships and great stuff. Yeah from my make some people. Yeah you know anybody that surprise you when you were like. Hey Bro I want you to be on his mother. Navam and they were like Who Not specifically now that I can think of where you have intuition too. Yeah yeah the whole thing. Are you try to kind of already collaborate with people who are seemingly giving you that kind of energy already yeah? It's almost like single life. It's like when you've been married. Seven years mighty big and then you get the single moment you live your best life and you meet all these really cool people and you find yourself then. You're doing this whole thing. Would you ever go back into a marriage with the label after doing it by yourself and if you would what would be different? I would say never say never at this current point now the right situation came on came about I would definitely consider it But for me. What really held me back from kind of even exploring that with releasing this last album was. I just felt like there was so much of this kind of same thought process So just kind of like going from one relationship to another. That was just extremely similar. So it didn't feel like growth for me. I felt like I had to give myself the opportunity to try to do it without this dated mentality of like just approach to making music and our approach to releasing music is. It's hard like artists. Talk about it all the time you know getting. It's hard to get there album out. It's hard to get creative differences or whatever I think it's the where business meets art. There's always going to be a risk you know. And now you're just doing art and now I'm just focusing our and it feels so much better. Yes so single we always talk about how Minna garbage in different locations different garbage gets at different locations. I say that it was an LA thing. And I beg to differ so you think it's just all over the place it's an epidemic. The new it's the old corona virus garbage. How do you have a hard time finding a dude got the MTA nausea? I mean well first of all I don't like actively look so that's part of it date maybe if I like dated maybe and meet some Nice people just genuinely don't like carve out the time but I've been to your house Taco Tuesday it's fine. There's some dude. I don't like talk to them. That's because you're too busy by the way this girl hugging the Taco. This girl has egg forty five people over at our house for Taco Tuesday. She's making the tacos. Her brother at work. She invites her parents to bring shrimp over to finish back on. We ran out of shrimp so I needed a more so I called my mom. Mom bring us another that. She comes in like stealth mode. But here's the lease and then leaves mom doesn't even stay with its hind. You find that family in Los Angeles because it's hard to make friends and find people who are genuinely here for you and not here for you the celebrity. Well I think for me the number one thing. That's helped me learn how to navigate is growing up here. I think you have a huge advantage because I think when you come here you tend to go to like all these certain circles in these certain environments where everybody around there is kind of trying to meet people or network or connect or be a part of the circle. When you're literally grow up here you're just in the suburbs here in Glendale Galleria. You know you're just you see that as like a part of the city that you can kind of use as a tool you can dip into relief from so I feel like people that are from the city and people who move here kind of experience l. a. differently just in their perspective of like the. Hollywood life like I've a lot of people who live here like people are so fake people are so fake my God and I'm like you have. Have you met people like really really like from here? There's a lot of soul there's a lot of heart is a lot of real genuine culture. But you could be who who are not from. La Because to get into the circle is hard okay. That's the other part that is why I kinda have this great circles because everybody that is in my immediate framework but whatever is people that have been there like from time so to get into that circle takes. Tell you what it feels like. Remember in blade whenever like the Vampires are all at Club in Germany and they're all like dance and Raven and all of a sudden the non vampire walks in and everyone's like nothing feels a non. La DO TRIES TO WALK INTO LA. Gang announced true. It's true it's hard I feel for. I feel for the people who move here as the Queen. Bee says because that's what happens. The Queen of Talk. You're cool you're at TACO Tuesday out. Good job tell people how you gotTa Start. Because you got your start at an early age. It's a it's quite a long story so when people get asked like how'd you get into the industry? It's hard to say it's like one thing or another. I was in my first movie when I was five years old. I started dancing four. I have been actively entertaining or like in the business since you could walk as long as I can remember. Yeah so that has just volved and continued to be like. I was thinking about my career and I was eight years old. You know so. It's always been a part of my life. It's like who I am and

"Travel michigan. I'm Dave Laurent's from pure Michigan. And you know, this time of the year a lot of people thinking about getting outside in the wintertime. They you know, they understandably they think about going up north. There are a lot of really cool things to do up north that traverse city region Petoskey region. Like, we were just talking about maybe Cadillac or Gaylard, perhaps even the upper peninsula all of them offer great experiences. I mean, really spectacular things to do and enjoy at this time of the year. But you should also think about some of the communities know, the southern tier of the state is well because there are some neat things happening down there as well. So let's head over to Saint Joseph in the western southwestern part of the lower peninsula today. And check out what's happening. This winter in the beautiful little town of Saint Joseph, Amy Zabel is the executive director of Saint Joseph today in Amy thanks for being with us today. I'm always happy to talk to you. And and share news about Saint Joseph and southwest. Michigan. And I appreciate that. Because you have so much to share. I mean, it's a great little town. It really is. It's a great town is as you know, my wife grew up in the area, and she spent her weekends and Saint Joe and she always loved it in. It's just gotten better. And better over the years. Every time we visit she reminisces about the old days. But she always says, oh, man, this is so much nicer this, and that so you have some some fun things happening this winter. I know we're really close to one of them coming up on January twenty fifth. You have your seventh annual chilly tour. It's a tour. That's a little different. It is it's you know, the one of my favorite things about southwest Michigan. And in and around Saint Joseph is how friendly people are. And we were so welcoming always so glad for company so chilly tour is a perfect way to share a love of chili. And then so there's last year we had almost forty stops this year, we're hoping maybe for thirty five or forty forty steps for on a chilly tour. There's a lot. Downtown merchants, and restaurant, and wineries and tasting rooms are happy to say come on in. They've if it's a restaurant they had a big they've entered a chilly. People can try to have a little sample for free the places like like, the boutiques and gift shops, and the olive oil store and the boop or the breweries and the winery tasting rooms when they don't have a food license or kitchen, they partner with an outside restaurant. So there's so many different ways. And they'll it's everything from Chile to a Korean. Fusion ver- style of Chile Chile Browning's to I'll too hot chocolate that has a little spicy chili powder in it. So there's all sorts of different iterations of Chile. I'm along this tour, but you just kinda grab a map at the Saint Joe welcome center and cruise Alana walk along. It's a beautiful time to get up outside after we've all been cooped up in the cold. Yeah. Yeah. To go along and tries to Chile so Amy is this something that you like buy a ticket for or you just show up at these various events and and purchase various things. So what you can do you can you can purchase a map at the Saint Joseph today. Welcome center at three one St. street. It's two dollars per map, and you can use that to drive you to kind of get yourself from here's stopped wanting to stop to to stop whatever it may be to plan your route. But you can certainly not map. And then you just kinda go try some chili again. It's it's part of that warm. Welcome.

"And then and then you have MCI Pfeiffer who he's a cool. He's a nice guy. But a creep. But he's a kind of. Yeah, he had creed. Yeah. He liked comes to her. He comes to the house. And she's like, it's not like, oh, it's know things are crazy. It's not a good time. Like, I'll see you later. And then he's like. When I saw basically, and he space, basically, just tells her story that he like always wanted to have sex with her when he was in high school, my main I Mike why was like after he says that story said of her just being like that's kind of freaking weird dude you've been you've been wanting to be with me since high school like what she just goes come on in. See the thing is like somebody's. This movie handles day. Well at all, but in defense of the movie, it's not that he wants always wanted to have sex with her. It was always wanted to talk to her and he didn't have the courage to what is that understand? But my man shows up to our house dressed like Santa Claus and his playing with the kids. Right. That's some weird shit, bro. Then on top of that his mother in her mother's living room. He's like come sit on my lap. Did. Look man, look at friends. He's been high school in avows is no way I'm going to their house. Like Chile Chile. Anybody sit on my lap. Are you fucking crazy? Then the push me like go happening right now. And as I go, but you need to come out with me tonight. At a lot of things happen it like, do you? Don't listen also mad people trying to smash and his mom's house, right? Always respect family had zero. And then talking about how they treat women in the same. They all kept making fun. They made fun of Lauren Linden at deaf first dinner in a way that made me so mad whereas like, I guess she dates people like Enron days people based on like when her major changes, right? And of course, like this. She was a pre was. Pre law. Right. These guys free. But then at one point on run of like the names because I can't remember what do name is. Because of so many people she's back, and I'm like, yeah. Ain't got shame the girl with the do. Because like now when you make her look bad. But it's also like this do came home. But Christmas is what I think this is what James says like why he hated in the first twenty minutes because they're all super mean for no reason. We all the whole family the whole family and an for twenty straight minutes. It was like how am I going to like these people for the resume movie if you've made them all people 'cause our boy comes over at. It's like first of all if they if she's brought a bunch of different boyfriends over like, what's the point of just being mean to do who you don't know anything about like, I don't even understand that. But he he comes and the I mean, it's just like a very typical like kit it like, the men of the family are suspicious of the boy that a woman brings over even though nobody suspicious of the you know, what I mean, it's a very weird thing. And and he like. And then they and then what's his name questions him about going to Morehouse? What the hell was that about? And it's weird too. Because you know, we're they're giving him so much shit at the beginning. But then when that happens everyone's shitting on las- for doing that. Right right there like last don't do it. And it's like what like what was that supposed to mean? Remember Chris Brown like like, literally? What do you call? You like you like. What do they call that? When he juked. But like, yeah. Yeah. He likes steps to him. Yeah. Yeah. He likes. And I was like why did Chris Brown do that? Why do that character do that? What are you gonna protective one? So he could because they were all I took that because I was the button of that moment. I took the moment before as all being them being like like silly aggressive towards him. Like, none of that was real. And like the picture it was he did that. So that he could take silly picture of him like, so they could get a picture of his. Of his surprise face. Yeah..

"So while you're is fifteen and eighteen year. I am nineteen thirteen and one on the year. Let's see if we can give out some winners kid. I went to one last week. Oh, I do want to start ideal. I want the over near Zona Green Bay game forty three and a half over there's going to be points in Chile Chile. Green Bay lambofield. I also think that defensive scores will rule the day. Really? Yeah. I liked defensive squirted met, Arizona. Green bay. We're going over. And there's gonna be some defensive score score boards. Forty three and a half the screens over Todd firm, and you just heard it. He thinks that this is the year the Sooners cover against Texas as you know, we're Texas is more than a touchdown underdog. I don't think so I'm gonna roll with Tom Herman who has been a machine in these spots. A not only is he ten and three against the spread getting points. He's seven in oh against the number as a dog of seven or more. That's right, seven and. Oh, and I think that that will continue. I know there's some questions about the quarterback. But this is what Tom Herman does extremely well. And let's face it. Oklahoma just doesn't seem interested in stopping anybody right now. It's almost like going to score. We just want column or in the offense to be back on the field. Oklahoma's allowing are you ready for this year? I'm writing more than forty seven points per game in its last four. Now, those games are wins. Right. But over forty seven points per game. Game. I think they'll go back and forth back and forth. Texas, we'll hang with them. Oklahoma will score last and win but will not cover the eight. I'm taking Texas Jerko second game. Second game karma go Miami buffalo right in Miami. Buffalo northern team traveling down to be the southern team. But I have their lungs will be burning be crying for oxygen, and they'll be cramping up. Like, there's no tomorrow. It'll be cramping so bad. They'll need some idle. All right. That's what we're talking about data. How much they'll be cramping K cramping medication kid? What do you want me to do? Now..

Richie says he's rooting for the Red Sox for reasons that are just positively beyond my imagination south tonight going with the dodgers as far as the friend that I grew up with man, huge Red Sox. I got a lot of friends at Red Sox fans. Also, he lives up there. And. Up there in heaven or up there in? You pointed straight up to the sky what that meant. I sorry. Have you ever thought about the we may actually be living upside down? Have you ever considered that there's this sense that the north the northern hemisphere is the north and the southern hemisphere is the south? Well, how do we know that the whole thing's not flipped upside down? I mean, how do you? How do you really know? But you could also say that, however, we're living is the right side up upside down in downside, doesn't really matter. Because whatever we are doing is the right side up. I got a little confused about what you just said. Thank you for what it's worth. But have you ever considered that we may? In fact, we live in upside down in the universe. I just think right now would be the good time. They get the weird vote people. Call in for the weird right now. Now, have you ever thought you just sitting? No, let's go to the phones. You just said that I want as many people to chime in on whose weird or what's weird in the world right now after you just came back from break saying, you think we're living upside down, I'm just saying like the people in Chile, right? The southern part of Chile Chile. Now are they just hanging? I mean, they they think they're walking upright. But are they hanging on the earth and the round the round side of the downside? Well, maybe maybe the whole thing's flipped around. I'm just disconcert sort of. I mean, if you were in like Antarctica, that's my point. I guess you would be upset down in less. You're not but earth's gravity holds you to the earth. Yeah. Well, that's all predicated say this goes back to when they used to think the world was had four corners. "I just throw it on their slice them pretty thin, like a quarter inch. Actually. That's how Jeff slices them for us. If you have from him too. So we buy from this ranch up north Barth rancher in Austin, and guy throws me like four or five, six packs of of liver, and it's couple pounds. And so we'll do just a fourth. Fourth of an inch, I'll now with salt pepper paprika spice dot. That's pretty bitter then pretty powerful. So like us paprika or human or Cayenne, or any of these seasons like that, that a little bit of intensity to them and kind of take over the taste of food. You could also use like turmeric or curry powder, anything like that. And so that I just grill it real quick. And then I throw some herbs and butter on it in slice up real thin and nothing tastes actually pretty good. So I've bought some non organic non grass-fed liver before is hurting me. No. So this is another misconception. Good, good. Follow up here that the liver is a quote, unquote detox organs. Toxins are stored in liver doesn't work that way. It helps process things but isn't store toxins. So you're actually does that your fat stores toxins in other not great things not really ideal to have. I mean, just like any of the part of the animal you're gonna weightless nutrients and it's not going to be an ideal cut. You're going to be supporting a bunch of bullshit farming that we don't like. So. I mean, there's a lot of reasons why wouldn't do that. And I think the taste and texture just like with generalized meat. If you go, you can go pick something up at generals. Grocery stores is going to be really awful quality food in. So it's probably gonna taste terrible, the stuff from from Jeff, that this is a super high end grass-fed ranch is basically free, and I think tastes pretty good. Definitely. So the tips I would say to avoid it tasting get high quality stuff, slice it, thin, cook, it hot use butter on it. Use some goods, spices and Lafayette can't take the texture, but I think that it's fine. It's choke it down. It's worth it. It's one of these things like just do it. Yeah, I've chopped it up to put it with some ground beef and you can't even notice it. So this is another trick that I used to do a lot going to do it more than forty degrees in Austin. But if you take heart in kidney and liver and stuff and chop it up and put into Chile Chile, you cannot test the no matter what the little little cubes of meeting. Also I'll do like micronutrient liver heart kidney. And then I'll do by saying ground beef ground pork and maybe some land and just make this massive meets with like fresh farmers market style tomatoes, and peppers and stuff..

"Once again for chat with her friend Jack Farrell on this Saturday morning. Good morning, Jack, are you? I'm doing quite well and anxious to hear about I don't know. It's thirty seven degrees. So I I'm thinking about making Chile. That's good cold weather dish, believe me. It's not very hard to pick wines to go with Chile Chile. Again. It's almost like barbecue. Sweet hotness Stewart and Malbak goes so well with Chile I think just like it almost goes so well with barbecued ribs. But also chilly Laden's itself to other words, like a not to robusta zinfandel softer zinfandel or even something like a cabernet franc. We'll go fairly well with chilly. Chilly day. No pun intended. I. Somebody asked me this week something we've never talked about me probably should because Wayne table wine really go well with chocolate. Well, yes, it does. And I'll explain why dry red wine with chocolate is kind of a bad choice. I mean, there's no sweetness no fruit those that an older Claritin or something won't be friendly to your candy. And the reason I'm talking about this is undoubtedly everybody's gonna have loads of candy after Halloween. Even if you don't usually have candy, you get some in for the trick or treaters. And can you have that candy with Waitz? Sure, you know chocolate is indeed a lot like why did I'm gonna talk primarily about chocolate candy. You know, chocolate by its nature is bitter. So why there's lots and lots of tavern and chocolate. There's a lots and lots of Taylor and why there's more than than chocolate than there, isn't t-. So that the same as red wine, they're very very similar with all those big towns. That's why they clash often with an older wine. That's kind of losing its Taylor's cocoa beans are naturally fruity and their fruit friendly so chocolate peers better with the fruity red wine. Yeah. If you don't have chocolate with a dessert Redwood with chocolate chocolate. It's kind of hard to pair with other lines. It works better with a red wine. Silly does with white generally. Now, let's draw a comparison here. Let's see have a racist peanut butter Cup. Well, the good fruity shirt, and they would probably be better with that. Because of the peanut net salty texture. That's in the peanut in the stuffing. And then the chocolate on the outside is milk chocolate. And so that would be better with a white wine like a Chardonnay cocoa beans are fermented. You know, when they make chocolate just like wine. So there's a lot of similarities heavy chocolate, heavy one go together very nicely. You really don't want to have with chocolate a delicate burgundy, which is the wire, Oregon Pinot, Noir, even Russian river Pinot Noir. They just would clash too much. The cocoa beans are roasted. So that's why coffee goes fairly well withdraw clip because they're both roasted beans, and they well, they don't share a lot of common areas for growing cocoa beans like hot and humid, grapevines go like that at all. But you know, there's several kinds of chocolate white chocolate is heavy and fat. And so it's kind of a sweet. Cherry strawberry, raspberry, fruity, nose cab, would go better with white chocolate mousse Scotto recently, our white wines that also go very nicely with white chocolate milk chocolate. I pick up port almost any chocolate goes well with port wide, and you probably was ruby port, which is a little fruity your than say Charlie port, which is a little drier. But that ruby port and chocolate go together beautifully. And of course, ports a very nice after dinner drinks. So having chocolates after dinner why not serve a little ruby port with. I think you'll be absolutely impressed with how well they go together. And as I said chocolate is definitely calls for ruby port. Also, maybe not a bad was Madeira. And I would say again, you could try a Chardonnay some fruity would like Lockwood from California. It would be really good with milk chocolate. Then that so we've covered white chocolate milk chocolate, and everybody's favorite is dark chocolate. Mrs where you're really worked a red wine, in my opinion, you want something juicy to combat that zinfandel would be good or cabernet. Make sure that's Rudy or Sarah from Australia wouldn't be bad either California, mayor low zinfandel like windstorm would be very very good with dark chocolate. And then of course, there's everybody's favorite chocolate cake. And there I'd want an oak spicy berry warm climate cabernet, like Australia or southern California Chile would go pretty good was regular chocolate cake. And as I said was white chocolate something fruity champagne, for example, but don't have a brut. Champagne have an extra dry or sec. Brute is the very dryest of all the champagne and the sweetest is sex extra dry is in the middle. So you want sec SEC K or extra dry champagne with your chocolate? And again, I think it goes better with white chocolate. Dark chocolate milk chocolate. I mentioned about a Chardonnay going so well with the recess beaded buttercup because of the complexity of the peanut butter, the salt, etc. And the candy itself, there's a new one, and I guess this is what made me think about it that we got in from Oregon this last week called second growth cabernet now Oregon is known for its Gabbard as it's known for Pinot, Noir, agree it cetera. But cabernet and hasn't done that. Well, there till you taste this second growth Gabar nay it is super with chocolate. It's soft gabardine. So there's not a lot of harsh tannin's in it at all when we had that at a sampling the other day, I said, you know, we don't wanna cabernet from Oregon like just not that good. Well, this one back my socks off and second growth cavern? And we said when we tasted would this ever be wonderful little piece of chocolate. So as I said port and dark chocolate is a marriage made. It's got the same level of sweetness and. The wind isn't real clawing Lee. Sweet. But just sweet enough to pair just beautifully with chocolate. It looks as if you're having a dinner party, you ought to pass the chocolates at the end, but don't ever be embarrassed about pouring a good ruby port. Marriage is perfect big zinze. They actually called for a dark chocolate. But again, you want to send to have lots and lots of fruit and even those high alcohol IX in go very well with dark chocolate, don't forget chocolates melt made to melt at your body temperature so little allow that chocolate to melt in your mouth don't chew it. And you'll taste it. It opens your taste buds. It's after and then as it's melting have a little sip, red wine and believe me, you know, God's in heaven and all is right with the world. It's an absolutely great pairing while we're on the subject to Halloween. I'm going to caution all of our listeners to kind of avoid those catchy Halloween. Labels online. The spook tackler legs is I like to call them. They're usually not very good. They're sold with gimmicky. Labels, a catchy name like Frankenstein rather spider poison rose eight or the Walking Dead vampire cab pumpkin spice zinfandel, etcetera etcetera. I'd be very very leery of those kind of wines there gimmicky they're made to be sold for the holidays. If you want to give it to somebody as a joke or something that's great. But to have them with a nice holiday dinner. I'm telling you, your pumpkin pies gonna go very well with pumpkin smash zinfandel. I love it. I was thinking about you. And I've talked to as you mentioned this morning about mullebeck with barbecue. And I agree with a stake couple of nights ago, and I like mullebeck with steak to Juno, I opened up was a nice zinn. We've. Yes. I have a very very big fan of Simpson. Dell's like you said forget to drink them because you have to get the right way as mentioned that Lim windstorm is great. And there's one in California called terraces. It's made me Napa Valley was originally planted by Charlie Wagner, the guy who started kindness vineyards for a friend of his Wayne Horb, and it just went I still think that's in my top three. Dell's ever terrorists. Pricier when it's about thirty dollars about twenty nine ninety nine or something along those. But you won't be disappointed. It is a phenomenal incidelt. I love that terraces. So good. Some exciting things going on at Haskell's the days. Indeed, Haskell's fall sale is in full swing at the moment. And what a sale it is. We have everybody's favorite. There's hundreds and hundreds of wine sale. There's forty buy one get one the second one had absolutely no charge. And you know, the folks that have schools loved to talk about wine and beer wine was booed. Whether you've got a pair way with her. She Spiro reese's peanut butter Cup. Are you going to actually have it was Chateaubriand? They can help you pick a wine, and you know, what they'll help you pick a wine that will break.
