Um, well, there was this one time I went camping with my parents and a forest back when I was maybe, like eight or nine and I can remember. One night we were laying out in our hammocks and we were just, you know, watching the trees rustling in the wind above us, and we could hear the sounds of the forest all around us frogs, singing and owls calling the creek running nearby. It was amazing. It felt like we were a part of it all. I don't know if I do it justice trying to describe it, But I'll definitely never forget it. "These beautiful attributes that i got from both my parents spending right within also to kinda put it in a little differently and the way that we were parents because world is changing. I think personally a the so much more awareness now and there's vulnerability and willingness to realize that we're just not machines on the doing and just to sit back relax on sale sell for who we truly are so. I think it's against. I think for rehearing team a gift and more still i am and the more the. More meditated wrecking map. It's really important that Charities these schedules this knowledge with my child. Because i think through that teaching tolbert. Mindfulness we have an opportunity to use them tools for their heads. So that when it comes back dinners and act as hard or challenging or when it comes to the hurdles that everyone faces unwise those things easier because they have this in their toolbox to Operates from a different system than i operated class which is hang on. Take a deep grass fuel. What you're feeling the world is not coming in she. Yes trust yourself know yourself and as you said you allow all the emotions not running with your mind your panel any actually because in this moment you're safe right. We have all the answers. You're ida's we just have to train ourselves how to be able to go and lean into his answers. That are already there i do. I love that. I love that about you and the fact that you'll doing that and i'm taking not journey on too tightly with my son. Now you mentioned your parents and obviously we respect parents. We might have had a good or bad relationship with them but they gave us something that we were to learn. How will your parents influence in the way you are actually today. I think you know my parents. My upbringing was interesting. We were very gifted with a very rich lifestyle in terms of material right And had really had some amazing in my talk but also had a lot of pain. Sadness interest different things that went on within our family structure like everybody. They upset that out. We're on a roller coaster. Ride back slice ups and downs. But what my dad gave me this amazing work ethic and i learned a lot from hen and justice every day. Try your arnie's really really work aren't so learned so much from a business perspective. He also has amazing ability to just be so incredibly generous with every person that walks into his life whether it's on he sees at the grocery store fagging groceries. Nothing to focus to have. I have to say we all had that weld would be different place to watch her. D. treats everyone with kindness in any gauges every single human. If you cross my father's engages your gauges review genuinely not said a huge example for me and then mom jeans quiet. The end connects with nature. Connect with her animals and so she's given me that guest of doing that is to just be quiet added but we learned so much from our parents what we witnessed from the good and the end the ugly and the trauma and they tried their gas and i was the most incredible research fact and so i learned a lot. The thing there are and how they handled life as it happened to them. Yeah a now with. The role models is parents wishes. Masterful it is so what in a nutshell for you. Amanda what makes inspiring parents for me. What makes them inspiring parent is to be able to have the opportunity to teach our children. Just how beautiful and magical this world is but we can read the magic and last we tune into it and we cannot tune into it if we keep our lives filled with this frenetic energy. The schedule's weeping our children just bouncing from one activity to the next activities. So that they can't feel. I mean no. That's exactly so. I think if it's our responsibility apparent to really help them create a schedule a life that is integrity with their sweet gifts. And there's yeah and do that and really kind of you know insist that we go at a slower pace but yet we do these beautiful activities but the activities that see their sweet little. Yeah onto an awareness being this rather than just doing it for the products. I'm actually be mindful of what we're doing. How how with feeling when we do not pushing our agent got on our children. Full year going to her his on her and ernest immu tapia. Now i mean. I think that is rage but instead why don't be asked our children while they won't simplest thatch wrong because i'm realizing that i've been pushing because i wanted to do. Music and alexander is actually musical but he's a teenager now he's guy said. No mom stoppings embarrassing. I've just take my foot off the gas pedal thing he doesn't have to do my life. Racism being i provided the structure support. I will be there. But now i got to trust him to be who he's got to be and that's what we have difficulty. I think as parents to let go. I think it's really difficult to let go of our conditioning. In the way that we were raised. And what we did in the things that we love. Our child is going to necessarily what you get. I can't accept that than i to agree. you know. I think musically his so important so maybe it's not the instrument that you play but maybe find something else in the music that speaks to that child. Yes them up. So night sessile make some joyful that island. I think we are supposed to encourage and support these. Little beings are recognizing their innate gifts. And we are supposed to create an environment that helps facilitate them fighting up right and teesta mindfulness and and listening to the starting address milling. That we've all been gifted with exactly because they bull on his curious influence. You know so. Free the curious interested and then get school and the south catching conditions. What are your views on education as it is at moments. Were you in your area lines. Yes i struggle so much because we live in a culture that is often out producing the best scores Accidents is incredibly important. But i feel like we can't get our children foundation him narms howard johnson's then if they don't have the tools to practice emotional intelligence they can't take on or kagera these things that were pushing room. "Not the reality for a number of kids. And now that we see kids are going back to school, or they're being with family members as vaccinated. People are able to, um, congregate together. We're getting more and more cases. So in the last two months, we had 131 new kids compared to in the last two months in the last two months, And if you look at the last two, if you take April and May of 2019, we only had 86 new kids so The number is definitely increasing. Um, And as we look around the state at some of the larger child advocacy centres, most of the ones that the Children's Foundation funds we all Had a meeting collectively earlier this week, and we all are seeing that increase because kids were going back to school, and now we have the teachers who have their eyes on the kids again. Or you have family members who are now able to see grandparents that are able to see their kids or aunts and uncles that are able to see their nieces and nephews, and they are reporting that something is going on with those particular kids. Absolutely. So You mentioned the Children's Foundation and our partnership. That is a result of our visit. Yes. Uh And so I'm very proud of that. And we're just starting by the way. This is not something that we're gonna Say We'll see you later. We're not going to we're going to be with you in, so tell our listeners a little bit about that grand or the partnership. So we are so incredibly grateful to be a recipient of the Children's Foundation grant their inaugural grant that we received covered a Art studio for us, and not only did it cover an art studio for us, but it was matching dollars for us to be able to receive money from another foundation, which was the first time we received money from that foundation in the last 10 years, And so that allowed us to be able to create and build an art studio for the kids. It's the most requested therapeutic room that we have. Um, there are more kids that are going through that room on any given day than any other room and our in our entire facility. Perfect. So we had last month 101 kid therapy sessions in that art studio and for, um and one kid was so excited about the our studio that they wanted to leave a piece of their art. And to talk about how impactful the room is. And it's a beautiful, um, heart and all kind of rainbows to show where they have come from because before they felt like, you know, life was all black for them, and now they feel like there's color back in their life. And so, um, we're definitely going to share that out with you said Please do Yes. Um, that shows the impact of that true room. But also it shows that, um we are able to provide the services to these kids because of foundations like yours in the Music to my ears that are Grant allowed you to get another grant. And that's what we're all about, Sort of integrating non profits and foundations..
