Tesla Meets Model 3 Production Target, Ramps Up China Factory
"Wedbush analysts, Dan. I've says tesla now faces a quote Kilimanjaro like uphill climb to hit this year's profitability targets. The perfect storm that's forming. Analysts point to demand for tesla vehicles as the big problem right now. Which sounds strange considering the sizable wait list for its model three but the expiration of tax credits. For electric cars is also part of the picture. Ravinder Gill is a senior analyst at Needham, demand for the model three in the model S X is decelerating, particularly the model S in the model X, the only sold twelve thousand units in Q one that was down forty five percent you're year, even assume you're pretty big snap. Back in the second half, they're still going to be down thirty percent. Because competition is pretty significant in Europe. These are old models. The model three they basically had depleted their high end version of the model three in the second half of last year. They took advantage of a tax credit, that backlog of orders has now gone. And now they have to kind of go into the mass market at the very same time when the credits expire, or at least get cut in half and then go away altogether next year. Tesla's been looking to China as its next big area for growth going so far as to build a new gigafactory in Shanghai. But now as a trade war between the US and China escalates that's looking like less of a sure thing Bloomberg's Lisa Abramowicz. Explains. Expediting ships of parts to try to assemble tesla clinicals ahead of the terrorists. This is a huge problem for it. And even though to me have not yet been put on the list of things be terrified by the Chinese people are expecting that could be next. So tesla is facing some very real challenges heading into the second half. It's also coming off a year that saw CEO Elon Musk face off with the securities and Exchange Commission over his tweet about taking the company private musk eventually settled with the SEC, but he went on to post additional tweets that the regulator says violated that settlement, he also fired office series of posts, criticizing the SEC for some must sanctions raise questions about the companies leadership and SEC Commissioner Robert Jackson. Thanks Mosk got off to easy. Here's my fundamental problem with what happened. Whatever you think of that settlement, Mr. musk signed it. And when you sign an agreement with the securities and Exchange Commission with the blessing of a federal judge I just think you've got to be held to the deal you Struckmann and at the end of the day, there was subsequent activity that I think we all felt, and we brought a contempt motion, we, obviously, all felt that he didn't file the deal that he cut musk now has tweets related to Tesla's business pre approved by a company. Lawyer, the CEO is also known for going after shortsellers on Twitter. His company is often a target for those investors. The bet has paid off this month with profits for tesla shorts exceeding a billion dollars in may. Steve is men's a money manager at Neuberger Berman. He famously predicted the collapse of subprime mortgages before the two thousand eight financial crisis. I'm short, tesla, but I've never been short tesla big because it's an incredibly volatile stock and a response information that I think is unimportant, and I've done well in the short and tesla. I think it's going to go lower is men's not alone. According to research from S three partners. Tesla continues to be one of the most. Most popular short positions among US stocks and just last week analysts at Morgan Stanley, put their worst case scenario for the share price at just ten dollars somewhat of a shocking number considering the stock spin trading around two hundred dollars still tesla bowls, like Oppenheimer analyst, Colin rush say the future is bright. His target is above four hundred the simple of side, is that they continue to make cars and people continue to buy them healthy. Right. And that's what we're continuing to see right now. And then the second layer of this is really can they migrate from this EV market into the Thomas market? And I think there's a big question around that. But our model is really based on just their ability to sell electric vehicles at a successful rate, and we feel very good about that call at this point, and leave the Thomas p says a free option for skeptics Tesla's valued like a company poised to revolutionize the auto industry with no concrete signs that it will actually Chievo that lofty goal if it was valued in line with its peers, say with a price to sales ratio matching General Motors test. Let's Get Real About Netflix's Cash and Spending Numbers
"So how do you go about running an Oscar campaign? Well, Netflix has done something very sensible. They have purchased the the abilities of miss Lisa toback. Now, she worked for Harvey Weinstein Miramax and some others. She's been going since the nineties who is a skill. Strategist. Now, she's not alone. There are other people that do the same job. But she is one of the best insofar as that she knows how to play a marketing campaign to the right people to the people who vote it'd be who are taste makers who the people who can influence and change minds so Roma's campaign specifically, I mean, I care let's tales of kind of huge parties. Roma seemed chocolates put yourself in Roma kind of blue screen who would Ince's your wouldn't want to be in Rome. I wouldn't want it to be. But I mean, there are a lot of there are a lot of. There's a lot of glitz surrounded a huge. It's massive now. Number one. It's it's a it's an art house film is made by a popular director who has was one before it's black and white. And we keep thinking what would Rome it'd be like if it was color. Maybe we wouldn't be talking about it. But it costs fifteen million to make 'em. Netflix has spent probably twice that. I'm promotion now that is unusual insofar as most production budgets will just be doubled. For example, for something cost ten they usually spend ten to market it. But they've doubled the production value to push the Sout, which I think's very important now, what would make somebody vote for film as opposed to not voting for a film being mollycoddle. I don't know about you. But role much hawk it wouldn't make me vote for it. A big party would make me vote for but thinking that other people like this, film may change my mind. I mean, this is is the height to believe is a good film. It's a good film. Yeah. It's it's not it's peculiar of having. Arguments with a about it with people, technically, it's it's lovely. And don't forget that that choir on had his his Oscar winning a Chievo is cinematographer helping him on this. Although Chievo was busy with something else. So it looks amazing and it plays into a lot of his Geist of of Latina's of native people of the the sort of underclass, I suppose, but also love and family. Let's take a little bit of a closer look at toback and others Liker. I mean, she is very much behind this particular campaign. And yet, of course, she is associated with with Miramax and Harvey Weinstein that doesn't appear to have damaged her. I think because she left she left she left. She left Harvey before everything got really, really bad. I think there were probably some notes going on. But she is such a highly price specialist and also I was looking at her her social media. She doesn't she's not one of these people that screams in your ear or yells in your face. She's a very very gentle very subtle behind the scenes, almost I dare I say old fashioned Hollywood publicists, she is subtle. She knows how to work the ropes, but the important thing here is a net. Flicks knows this that if they win best picture it's a game changer. It changes Hollywood forever. Well, let's talk about the. Because the way that net. Flicks films are distributed different. They have a shooter window than traditional movie companies. So as you say this model is successful. It does change the way businesses run. Just explain to us how that distribution model works. Well, it's generally a studio will make a film, and because of of of laws that are fifty or sixty years old it cannot own its own a theatrical distribution, meaning it can't own cinemas. So it will put it out into cinemas. And then later it will go onto streaming or DVD's now net.

"But also, the only you can only approach memory from the standpoint of the present. So I want to make an static film about going back into into the past that I remember I wanted to do a film about. The past from the standpoint of my understanding today. Yeah. And that's the reasoning which both things the the personal ones and the social ones they interconnect. Yeah. And that was also then the spacing which from the standpoint of of the present I could play with within since and and symbolic elements that I thought they were pertinent, right? So I guess the black. I'm white helps you not be static to have that kind of golden light a lot of nostalgic films. Well that for sure, but also is a black and white that is not nostalgic because he's a modern black and quite yeah. It's d is embracing digital is not trying. I know that there's a whole school about trying to these guys the digital and making look more, quote unquote film. I wanted to embrace a contemporary black and quite sixty five meal completely pristine, no grain. You know, but but as as I'm looking at the past so-called black and quite but from the standpoint of the present. Yeah, I'm this hour, presenting -nology. Yeah. And you DP. Was reluctant to. Yes. Reluctantly because Chievo regularly busy busies is that because of the process I kept on extending the days of shoot, and they preparation, and then he became on feasible for cheaper to do it. Right. But the he had to and this was like two and a half weeks before we start shooting that that. So it was a moment of making a big decision and Chievo. Is the will who suggested who suggested you know, what you should do it around thinking that you start a diploma Prater? I did several like more than a dose of films Bruno per. So is there any job on the set? You can't do. Oh catering's. That that that is the best one actually. No, I look I've done a lot of different positions that doesn't mean that was great doing the different positions. But but I learned the craft of the different position. So yeah. Yeah. How important thinking about this is a very intimate personal film? How important is something like great expectations in teaching you about what you want to do what you didn't stay grits pick for me was fundamental because sometimes the process of learning is precisely learning what you should not do. Yeah. And and sometimes that is not doing things for the wrong reason. Yeah. But in many ways, I think with the theme of the film because grit speculations about a character whose doing everything for the wrong reasons. Yeah. But that I learned he was painful, it was painful because you can never be satisfied you things you do things for the wrong reasons. Right. And did. And so did you have doubts when Harry Potter came? So hang didn't notice tell you. He called you. The word is a flacco. Flacco flood will skinny guy. Does that make can you guys? Tell me that story..

"Are promoting tim tibo they you know tim chievo he explodes with denver as of wrong mojo and people fall in love with tim tibo and then he disappoints a little bit in the certainly in the nfl then he goes into the great game of baseball why not take a chance at it so he's actually been promoted to st lucie which is the a league down in st lucie florida it is the aleague for the mets his batting average to twenty two got to three homers 23 rbi that's nice on base percentage threelove eleven his slugging percentage is up there so they're you know they're still messing around with tibo bowen and who who knows he's is he's not tearing it up but he steady and he he's a guy were if he was i don't know maybe steady enough when they look at certain things and they work with him enough if he's improving then maybe he gets a a a shot remember he he signed with the mets last september spent a ton of time in the florida instructional league and the arizona fall league as well and like i said when he played for the broncos that one year he really exploded on the scene people love them they pay attention to them listen he gets speaking gigs all over the place probably knocks me off speaking gigs wakata's alenia embassy sports radio or chip cable at the cupcake cope with tipped ibo anyway he he had the playoff win over the steelers member in two thousand eleven and then of course was with the jets and twenty twelve went to the training camp for the patriots it's and the eagle's but never played in the regular season for either one of those two teams but that's ancient history that's part of the lure of tim tibo it'll be interesting to watch and see if he gets a chance for even maybe a cup of coffee with the new york mets especially with the situation if he can prove.
