"I want to talk to you about everything. I want to talk to you about what's going on with president Trump. I want to talk to you about desantis. What do you want to talk about first? Well, I think the big news, Eric is what's going on in New York or maybe what isn't going on in New York because I think it's now unclear. It appeared that the Manhattan district attorney that is a county prosecutor was going to take up a case previously reviewed and rejected by 5 hostile federal prosecutors against Donald Trump, which supposedly surrounds theoretical at least payoffs to a porn star for her silence during the 2016 campaign. Donald Trump has already triumphed in a defamation suit centered around these exact same issues. The government's chief witness is a man named Michael Cohen, who has specifically denied that exact allegation he's making today both under oath in the defamation lawsuit and in a letter to the federal election commission signed by his attorneys. So the real question, I guess, would become, was he lying then, or is he lying now? The whole point, of course, is will Alvin Bragg, who is a George Soros funded prosecutor, elevate what even if accurate would be a misdemeanor to a felony in an effort to try to destroy the political prospects of Donald J Trump.

Appeals court blocks vaccine mandate for US gov't workers

A federal appeals court has blocked president Joe Biden's order that federal employees get vaccinated against COVID-19. The 5th U.S. circuit Court of Appeals rejected arguments that Biden as the nation's chief executive has the same authority as the CEO of a private corporation to require the employees be vaccinated, opponents of the policy said it was an encroachment of federal workers lives that neither the constitution nor federal statutes authorize Biden issued the executive order in September 2021. The White House said at one point that 98% of federal workers were vaccinated. UN chief's call for ambition on climate gets muted response
"Some officials at a climate meeting in Copenhagen have given a muted response to calls from the head of the United Nations, the countries to show greater ambition when it comes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Speaking at the end of a two day meeting in the Danish capital, Egypt's summit shukri says there was no specific answer to the aspirational goals set out by UN secretary general Antonio Guterres when he urged rich nations to bring forward their target for achieving net zero emissions as close as possible to 2040. Shukri, who chaired last week's UN climate talks in Egypt, says these girls who will be met, I'm sure, addressed within the national context and within the national abilities, adding Egypt would have to rely on the transfer of technology. "You know, Jessica Kelly then justice Breyer came to my studio. We spent two hours. Justice Thomas is an old colleague and we've been on the show for two hours. The chief justice is an old colleague from I never asked a judge or a justice about a case or a political question because it's not appropriate for a journalist and especially a lawyer professor journalist to ask a justice how they will rule. I mean, it's just stupid. Undermines everything that holds up the rule of law. Is there any outrage in Wisconsin over what has happened in this race? There he is. So and I think that that's most folks in Wisconsin. So they look at what she's doing and there's two focuses about outrage a thing. One, because she's trying to turn this into a political institution rather than leaving it as an impartial legal institution. They want justices who will follow their commands in the constitution. Just simply decide cases according to the existing law. But then, you know, my opponent is not satisfied with tearing down the constitution. She wants to try to tear down me too. So she's been spending millions of dollars in ads that are just flat out lies about me. I mean, and there are remarkable lies here. And they're the kind of sloppy people tell. The kind where you can go to the public records and learn that it's simply not true. And so I guess I guess I'm grateful that if someone's going to lie about me, it's going to be about something that can be so easily disproved. But that's how ugly it's been on the left.

Bitcoin Was Born Out of a Banking Crisis
"Bitcoin as many have already said was born out of an earlier banking crisis. The blockchain's very first block contained a message about bailouts. It was designed to disintermediate third parties from Internet money by making people responsible for their own keys in contrast to the highly intertwined private banking sector and public sector. President Joe Biden has said U.S. taxpayers will not foot the bill for the bailout and that unlike in 2008, the architects of this financial crash will not benefit. There are enough responsible actors here to play the blame game, but if you're like Tatiana, the issue is the system itself. Senior management of Silicon Valley bank sold millions of dollars worth of shares in the lead up to the crash. This is seemingly the only risk management they performed. In 2015, SVB chief executive Greg Becker said institutions like SVB did not present systemic risks while testifying before Congress over plans to deregulate banking that were implemented in 2018. SVB essentially took a bet that interest rates would stay near zero forever. Over the past couple of years, it took deposits from a tech industry that was booming in part due to historically low rates that made venture capital financing worth the risk for many investors. In an effort to juice as much yield as possible from those deposits, SVB put a majority of its money into long-term fixed rate interest investments. The Federal Reserve essentially created the foundation for a tech hype cycle through financial engineering to stimulate the economy, and then through the frying pan into ice water when things got too hot. The recent interest rate rises were not necessarily unpredictable, but the fed's inconsistent messaging, saying rate hikes were unthinkable until they weren't, did not help the situation.

"The Pentagon is taking action to cut military suicides, but holding off on endorsing some controversial recommendations. Among the steps spokesman pat rider says to fend chief Lloyd Austin is ordering, improvements in mental healthcare access, including hiring more behavioral health specialists and changes in scheduling appointments. We will exhaust every effort to promote the wellness health and morale of our total force, but in a memo Austin does not specifically refer to gun safety or gun proposals made by an independent panel that included raising two 25 the minimum age for troops to buy guns and ammunition. It also recommended requiring anyone living in military housing to register privately owned firearms. The omission of any gun safety and control measures underscores the likelihood they'd face strong resistance.

"Thoughts on the line for the first game seemed to go. Pretty darn good brown seemed to be taking heat but mahomes was a little hesitant to step up times yet to be fair that's myles garrett over there he's pretty damn good right right well. I thought i thought the interior line has fantastic. I really there was very little pressure at all. Mahomes up to. I thought he was. I thought he was really protected. Well by the by the trio of tune humphrey and smith sang by or just pretty good gets cloudy. The first game. I think overrated. But he's a good player. I thought the yang a pretty nice job there. Garrett was the one who is paying the ass right and brown did get a handful of times off the edge. I didn't love that. I thought of all these guys branded the weakest game. I also don't think it's a coincidence that he was going against myles garrett a myles garrett is a top three edge rusher in the nfl. So i don't think in the end you're that upset about it. Look cheap up. Six quarterback hits a couple of those are pretty late penalty but like well athlete threw the ball. They gave up to shocks. I was okay with the chiefs offense of i thought they played a pretty good front. I'll tell you what. I was really. Impressed by mohican mcdowell. Who's a second round pick and how to how to atv action for seattle years ago. Looked like he was going to retire. Play a hell of a game really. He was good accused. I would argue other other than gary team. So the chiefs played a tough front and the browns brought some pressures and whatnot. I the chiefs offensive line was fine. I did not think the offensive line was an issue in this game again and brown be a little bit better. But i'd also like to see him go against somebody who's not myles garrett. Yeah yeah that was. That was a good early test for them. And yes i thought. I thought they converted a couple You know short yardage running plays which was a problem for them last year. It wasn't like that she's running all over the browns. They definitely weren't but they weren't really trying to. It's clydes first game back after you know after that injury Actually was back in the super bowl. But you know it's gonna take some time to get into swing things and frankly. I think that we would have seen a different game plan from the chiefs on offense if it wasn't for the way that the game started but again it it was just. It was exactly what cleveland wanted right. They came out and they got the lead. And then the chiefs were in their script. They came away with three. Which by the way. I thought they should've gone for it..

"Early in the in the preseason was this chiefs defensive line as really talented. Didn't look like today and the first half. I mean you could have driven a mack truck through some of those holes was it. was it. Just early season jitters like. What do you make that early performance. I make that they suck. I mean and also this has got to be their linebackers early in this game. I mean my god. Fill a run gap. Anybody i get it. That's probably the best offensive line and football and in. Cleveland is the best running backs in football. So i get it. It's a huge test. That early seventeen yards at run by the touchdown. That was embarrassing. I very rarely say this. Actually mean i could've run for that. I mean there was nobody touched. There was nobody within ten yards of him. The can't happen. There were two plays with the pilots getting pushed in the end. They won the game because the went on late. They made place and with this team. Let's face it with kansas city. That defense is judge. Zoff points not yards. I don't care how many yards give up if they hold teams to field goals. That forearms are gonna win the game and they did it. They did it. They forced return to turnovers plus on special teams. And then the big three and out. I wanna get to a few questions kind of tie into this show. I saw shoot a free fast. You know the more issues and just matthew clark. I totally agree. I totally now. I think some of the passing the fence issues are solved by those two guys. Because clark's second best pass rusher on the team and matthew's great player. I think some of those plays were like they were breaking down and coverage like the deep all that thornhill gave up like that doesn't happen with matthew in my opinion right or four less chance. But i think with the chiefs you always feel like they're in the games because they are always in the game. I think the super bowl the lone exception in the history of all they do not get blown out always around in cleveland. And we'll get into it. Cleveland made some big mistakes. The chiefs didn't and the final result. Is kansas city. Go going on in cleveland going. All my what i have to imagine is a very frustrating plane. Ride back to cleveland. Yeah tough tough loss for the browns. This one stinks probably almost as bad. Not quite but almost as bad as their playoff loss last year. The offense is going. I think that was the moment. I felt like all right now now for the first time in the game the pressures on cleveland cleveland now has to respond and if you remember they immediately went three and out and then fumbled upon right. I broadly speaking for you as well. Anything that we say We don't take any any joy in saying this guy's not gonna make the chief her. We don't take any any sort of joy. It's nothing personal. It's nothing along those lines. Because again i always end up feeling bad when guys get cut like even talk oh charleston. I was like man. That really sucks. You feel for these guys. This is their livelihood. They put their heart and soul into everything they've done to get to this point and i think what's special though at least for some of these guys they're going to get a lot of other opportunities cities and such birds spot. I think this is a slam dunk for. Espn what do you think. Oh no doubt. He's such a smart well schooled individual in terms of the game. I mean and nobody would ever say. Alex smith doesn't know football right. Everybody respects his his intellect in the way he views obviously have everything. He's gone through. Yeah i don't. "Yeah and and it's it makes things easier when you have a mobile quarterback mahomes who can move. Who can escape pressure and all the other weapons that kansas city has right and add to that the play call and creativity of andy. Reid you just want to try to keep these guys from getting the red zone in the first place. I think all the chiefs if you're going to be kansas city. It always comes down to well. First and foremost you gotta get fresh. Mom's okay but beyond that you have to play wall. Situation can't city field on third. Then you've got to be able to convey your third dance. you probably have to win the special teams game. I'll be break even and then in the red zone. You absolutely have to win if you can't win that you now the chiefs last year before. The chargers game where they play their backups. The cheese went fourteen in one last season against a very very hard schedule and the worst red on defense in football league. Think about how much better than they are. If this year they're middle of the road defensively in the red zone and offensively they just stay in the top. Ten didn't lose they lose. I'm not getting into the whole twenty thing. I know it's been kind of talking point. But i really do think genuinely. If they're healthy they could go fifteen to sixteen in one like i. I generally feel that way and you will get their schedule. They're not going to be an underdog in any game the season unless they have injuries. they're healthy. There's not an underdog in any game this season. I know the early lines the only game that they weren't favored. It was a pick them at baltimore. And i gotta tell you. Good luck finding somebody who's picking baltimore that game after the way. Those two teams played over the last four years. I wouldn't want to be on that side of it will last year and they've played each other and twee jackson drove one hundred yards in the game. "Who's a guy like candidate fifteen guys. Okay i mean come on. That's not the way it is. Kansas city can't save if there's not a whole lot to pump up about a guy. I think there's almost attacked of like well. Let's not make expectations way too. Big and then you know things. Fall flat the expectation around. This draft class is agreed on free trade. Smith noah gray are all going to be very very good player. That is you're constantly out of there so and by the way one guy who. I haven't talked a lot about but has also gotten good buzz from understanding neang. Who played really well. We haven't talked a lot about it. And because we're talking about brown was about tunisia. It's all about humphrey and smith but my understanding is even though he's giving a lost in the shuffle so to speak has done a really nice job and now remers comes back to practice today. A little bit and olympic capacity will have taken that right tackle job back scared at all. Point three rookies on this line. I know they're not scared of playing two of them because two of them are gonna and that's been obvious for a while. now. I i would not be shot. It is far from out of the question that they're going to start three rookies right next to each other on that line. The noah gray stuff in here is really great as well. You talk about training with with. George george kettles father and you know when he came out everybody was kind of like. Oh yeah he's like a nice little piece right like he's not an incredibly athletic. He's not very fast. You know he's he's got some good hands and Might be a nice little piece that they can deploy but it sounds like in the peace kiddle says i think it's the kettle senior right. He's not he's not travis kelsey right. He's not he's not travis kelsey. He's not physically travis kelsey but he is a different kind of player. There's a little bit more finesse to his game. And a few years from now if travis chelsea's off the roster but with travis kelsey on the roster you see andy reid. We've seen it every if the fact that you've been complaining about guys like kaiser and some of these other backup tight ends of the year's getting passed the stone to them dropping them and things like that the reason. Otherwise good just We're going along and now tonight as a record this on thursday the the first of the week one preseason games. I'll share the fame game but now we get into the week. One only three weeks this year and only two game site. New england in washington and filling in pittsburgh feels like football star and really kind of come back and rounded shape your indefinitely some intrigue with what those teams new england in particular and in washington and with only a couple of preseason games. "Let's talk about. This is interview. That alex smith did. He was just asked about the roger situation. And it really. It turned out to be like what a lot of people were calling a great pr interview for the chiefs. Because they asked him about rogers and how they handle it and so. I think it was the dan patrick show and they asked him. Like how did the chiefs the chiefs tell you before they drafted. And if you don't i'm talking about obviously aaron rodgers very disgruntled with packers says he wants out and a lot of it seems to stem from the fact that a couple of years ago they took jordan love in the first round instead of help for their super bowl contending team and help for rogers so and they didn't tell him that he didn't know they just drafted this guy so the question was you know what what did the chiefs do when they took mahomes. Did they tell you that they were doing. And here's what alex smith said. He said absolutely that had been communicated the entire season leading up to that the entire offseason by multiple multiple people. Everybody in the personnel department coach. Reid constantly there were multiple phone calls about what was happening. That happened when we drafted cap with coach harbaugh. When he was in san francisco. I know well. I knew well in advance what the team was thinking the route that they were going to go and i think that makes a difference. It does honestly and errands case going out of your way to let him know how the team feels about them. How the organization feels about them. How important he is and that. Potentially they're thinking this route and explaining their thinking clearly from an outside looking in it didn't happen and it didn't take place so first of all alex smith was this was just the chiesa. They respected the hell out. Alex smith right. Yes alex smith and the same thing with the forty niners. Anybody who you over here. Talk about alex. Smith just raised about the guy and what a professional he is but both of these teams did with a guy who was not on the level of a roger mahomes. He wasn't the franchise. They're drafting quarterbacks. For a reason right what what are the what were the packers thinking here to not involve aaron rodgers and say and i think here's the thing these athletes unfairly get called prima donnas a lot of the time and i think that in a situation like this. It's you know you get fans on there and they're they're always taking this out of the ownership enrich billionaires for some reason. I don't understand but they're like oh well you know it's booze news and they need to look for the future of the team which i think aaron rodgers understands that. I think the idea here is that like if you can't be like let's have a conversation about it. Shows me that you value me right now. And everything i've done for this franchise. I brought this franchise tons of money. I brought this ranch as a super bowl championship. And you just like you go and make this massive move without even consulting them. The leader of the team. What are these teams thinking when they when they do this stuff. Well in this case not much sometimes players are premadonna sh and sometimes you know that that is totally fair. Characterization of away guy accent also fans root for ownership in these skirmishes because they for the laundry. They root for the they were for the team and the team is represented by ownership players. Transient ownership runs a team. They went fourteen right like that last game. Throw it out. I think the homes is playing. They would have beaten the chargers but you never know they could have slipped up but they lost it in my view last year. They lost two games. They were trying to win. That was that raiders game and the super bowl which is incredible. And this is. This is the season after they won the super bowl which historically teams do not make it back a little bit of a super bowl hangover. Right so i think we all agree that they didn't play great last year. They didn't play up to their standards. And every game they they drove us a little bit crazy but they always found a way to win from a mentality standpoint. How is this team differ going into the season because for me i feel like if there was a season where they would have a chance to go undefeated. It would be this season because from mentality standpoint. You got a lot of guys coming back. That are pissed off pissed off that they lost super bowl pissed off about the way that they lost the super bowl. And so maybe whereas the twenty twenty cheese kinda thought like yeah like You know it's all about the super bowl for us. We just need to get to the regular season so they sleep walk through some games. They turn it on they win. Could we see a team this year. That comes out just there. I think for a team to go undefeated..
