"Airs Wednesdays at seven. Central on NBC. You were talking a little bit about getting back to the set. I mean, Chris, how excited were you? I know you thought five o'clock in the morning. Okay, I get that part. But at least to be with other people, even distance and see these people you haven't seen in months. It might have been pretty cool, right? Oh, it was it was great. But what always happens with this group? Because there's been such an intense and prolonged exposure to each other, you know, over the years. It always feels like we just left. This wasn't even in the exception. To be honest with you. When I walked through base camp the first day I was back. It really did not feel like returning to my hometown after a long time away. It just felt like I had just been there. Wow. Okay. I mean, you guys stopped production. Was in early March. Mean when did you guys stop? Because there's no cliffhanger. That's the thing about all your shows. By the way, there's always some crazy ass cliffhanger that happens. It didn't happen this year because you just stopped. That was March February. I can remember. Yeah, Mid March? Yeah. Mid March. I had a judge in the hiatus when I came back. It was warm, like for me like a return of Martin care. And they were like, Are you really David Eigenberg? Because, and I said yes. And then there was this whole thing whether I really was him. But then when I I did my stick. They went. Oh, yeah, That's that's the same old dumb. I convert. You know that right? Chris back questions still not resolved because I'm concerned. We sin And then people still don't have the confidence that that you are. He approached him warily. Nice. It's rich people with masks on all the time because we're like, hyper vigilant. I should say hyper. We are necessarily inappropriately vigilant about um about, you know, safety and keeping everybody safe and doing the best we can. So you know, we have messed all the time. Um and It's weird, you know, because we we've known each other all these years without a mask. It's not like I wonder how they felt when they did. Batman TV show. You know, Weston. But you do have to each other person you do have to recognize. People little differently. Obviously above the mass. You got to know what that person looks like The worst thing I think, even to the people that you know. David, is that you? You You have to figure out what their expressions are They laughing? They smiling with you, But they said you can't right. I mean that Zebley the biggest struggle for me anyway. I look at that as actually a benefit. That because I'm flipping it around. Look, you know what I mean? I no longer have to. I know you have to pull the strings of social machinery to put on the appropriate expression to put to prepare a face to meet the faces that I meet. So you're Dignam. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, It's pretty nice. I mean, I could go ahead. Let it be. I'm gonna I'm gonna be thrown off guard when the masks come off. Frankly, what's wrong with Chris? What's this? What's that face for would be exposed. That's right. I just immediately assume that people are disappointed or disgusted with me and I'm basically playing, you know contrition for all the things I've thought that are done in my life, So it's kind of a repentant time for May. Um, although you know it's hard to be around because people are like, what's wrong with you. And I'm like, I know, I know. You know what I did so just who I am on our job. The weird phenomenon of sometimes somebody has like four seconds of business with you where they have to explain something. Then they go on their way or whatever. I feel like I've had a handful of conversations where it come. The conversation comes and goes, and I have no idea who I just spoke to him, and I realized it doesn't matter. It's fine. Name tags are our names on the front of the mascots. It made. Maybe a good thing. You guys making a fashion statement is we don't have that yet, right? Um, making a fashion statements with your master. You just do in the hospital looking ones where you're doing stuff. Oh, my God. Grab whatever's closest to the door. Yeah. My my my wife makes made a lot of them in it. In the beginning, she became obsessed. She was very nervous about. You know, the kids getting sick Not so much me. But And then, at one point, the kids might sunset to write so worried about us. You should be worried about Dad. He has asthma and he's elderly. We got the elderly label. Yeah, he called me, but at least we're making elderly. And another that actually you were right. Right, Correct. It's just lettering. But, man, Yeah, exactly. Well, yeah, just aged between elderly and elder. Mm hmm. Alright, forget it. All right. Well, I'm going with mine. But she made she made obsessively. She means like 1000, Mass. She started taking on the fence off point for people. 1000 of them. Not exaggerating. She would not stop. You don't share the mystery machine and literally like they did today. You found the perfect on the purpose in all this. What about your Thanksgivings? That's coming up. Are you guys going Tol? Uh, We just kind of keep it low key. You're getting together with least with your with your kids and stuff like that. Chris, What are you doing? Well, I guess we're still trying to figure that out. It's what our options are. I've got My older daughter and her three kids lived not far from us. And so there's been, You know, it's been great having can we sort of decided to be a pod, and it's been. It's been great to just have their company in the You know, the Little kids. The oldest of which just turned four and they're struggling. They're getting through it better than I would have. Certainly there break. They're wearing their mass there, sucking it up and there, you know, kids that age they're not really too aware They don't have much context for what's going on. We don't know. I don't know how we're piecing together Thanksgiving. My older daughter. We were talking about just food in general, and it is my inclination I would order out or go out to eat for two meals a day. But my my older daughter happens to be a Wonderful Chef and lucky you and she bakes and cooks and it's been pretty great. But, um So I don't know how we're gonna deal with all that. But you know, she's in her senior year of high school, my younger daughter, and she's killing it. She's killing. I don't know how she's doing it. It's tragic to me to have this being your senior year of high school. You know, she's a pretty social kid. And all of that, But she is handling this like a champ. Well, I hope she gets that haven't graduate and do it in front of people. So hopefully by I do, too. I do too well. We'll see what happens how real the vaccine situation is in all of that. But You know, Thanksgiving, I'll take it. However it comes. It's really more about keeping the head down. Trying to find the light at the end of this tunnel. David, how about you? Well, of course. It's also rich and full and amazing. And I'm really I'm really happy for you. I live here in the house with my wife into kitchen. I have yet to be invited to Thanksgiving. Oh, awkward, awkward. Not they prefer a lot of times that I go in the garage and work on things, But maybe they'll come around. They slide of played under the door much. Yeah. What are you gonna do, Dave? Well, we usually about my shop right now. Wait. We could switch it The subject a little. Well, you usually go down state with Family. But you know, we're not doing that. I mean, we play football and do all that. I mean, we're not doing that either. So I have one cousin Kennedy. Yeah, not quite No. Not night point, But we're gonna probably just get together with one local family that we already kind of in that bubble. Like you said with your daughter there in the bubble, and we're gonna We're gonna hang out and that'll be it. I mean, It's a bummer, but you know, traditions just have to wait for one more year. We'll waken Do it. Well, there you have it. Chicago Fire. Chicago PD, Chicago MED. All air new episodes Wednesday nights at seven. Central on NBC. Always a pleasure, gents. "Victoria Keelan with Doug Stephan and Jennifer Horn and we're high. That's Jennifer Horn's voice. The lovely and talented Jennifer Horn. So I guess we're having some technical problem. Yeah, we're in the midst of Ah, the tech meltdown with Doug. It seems kind of funny because ever since Doug has like that upgrades to his studio Things have started to fail miserably, and I feel like that's what we can all identify with right now, Right? There's less stuff is dividing people politically, Everybody's are all cranked up. But one thing you can always agree on is that when you have the cable company out, there's always going to be some sort of some sort of problem. Any upgrade to anything a new TV new phone new Internet. It always seems to go bad. So we're working on that. Right now. In the meantime, lots of stuff going on. There are recounts underway in Georgia. There are lawsuits being filed by the Trump Administration, And meanwhile, Joe Joe Biden is looking to put together his transition team. And I wanted to get your take on this because you probably know the turn. I come from different political perspectives. We love each other. But We definitely consider things differently. And I thought it was interesting to see that the chief of staff that was put into place by Joe Biden is someone he worked with in the Obama administration who oversaw Some of the response to evil of which I don't take issue with. But one of the suggestions being made by Joe Biden and some of his new appointees, is that he consider a 4 to 6 week Walk down. Again, which There's fatigue, whether we think it's right or wrong, or we should just suck it up. There is fatigue. Everybody's tired of being locked down. It's been almost a year that we've been in some mode of quarantine her lock down, depending on the state that you're in. And I'm curious to know just What you think about the possibility, at least being floated of afford a six week shutdown as Biden would take office in January. I mean, I don't know what that I know that there was a lot of fear of, you know a national mask mandate. There is no man mandate that's coming. It's just going to be a strong suggestion. Um, you know, I'm in New Jersey. We just started a new lockdown phase. We're used to this at this point. They've They've traced bartenders in New Jersey. They've done the contact tracing, and there are huge clusters of bartenders with the virus. So it shows basically that you know, people sitting at a bar or at a bar situation even when they have the seats spaced out 6 FT apart or whatever didn't work. So restaurants are now back to you know, indoor dining is 25% capacity. And bars are now shut down. So you can't sit at the bar. Whether you're going to a bar itself or a restaurant that has a bar. I mean, we're just, you know, At this point, I'm looking at the cova tracking project map, which is sort of like the gold standard that comes from its pulls data from every state Department of every of every state. And so, uh, there are literally there isn't a single state where the virus is decreasing. I'm in New Jersey and New Jersey, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine for the entire like you know, the New England area, Mid Atlantic City to New England area. We're in the worst category or in the rapidly increasing category. New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia are in the slightly increasing category. But then you know, as you as you move west on the map, Nevada is spiking in cases that's in in Brown, You know, color coordinating here. It's in black is the worst brown a second bad reports and depressing colors. Actually, they told it's a very big, very much depressed. They wanted to be e. Don't know. Maybe it is depressing easier we have right now. 60. I think it's 67,000 people are hospitalized right now, with covert. So it's the worst hospitalization that we've ever had. And this is the worst number of cases were at basically 120,000 cases a day now are are turning up. So the theme What last night of Can You hear me is my Michael? Yeah, okay. So the theme of Chicago Med this week as they came back into circulation was all about co bid and having cases and what they're doing with him and who's dying and that sort of thing. That was the theme, apparently behind the scenes. Ah, lot of the members of the staff and crew and the stars have got Cove ID as a result of something, and they all shoot. In in Chicago. They do like they do in New York. With all the dick Wolf shows they have. They took over that big warehouse and Chelsea Pier and they rebuilt. It made his studios and that's what they did with a huge warehouse in Chicago. So all of the shows Whether it be Chicago Med Chicago Fire Chicago PD are all shot. The interior of all of the various shows is shot in the same big warehouse. So one gotta wonder whether this thing is going to spread around. And will that be an interesting example of how this thing could go from person to person so rapidly? You know, on Election night the people from the Trump Party are who are at his election night party that you know they have it. Now it's It. Just it spread so fast restaurants, gyms, hotels. Churches. 80% of the infections are coming from those places. So instead of doing a general shutdown of everything, can we shut down? I mean, how do we select restaurants are the most vulnerable to being able to survive or not, because it's a it's the toughest of the businesses. He shut down Jim's You said down hotel, shut them all down. And then hope in a week or two or three that things change all the interested open in Los Angeles since said since March, I mean they were open for like two weeks during the summer, and they were closed down again. Mm. I just I don't know if 4 to 6 s. So I guess my point is this We are already because I live in California where we haven't really ever been opened up so So it But we're still seeing cases rise. So it's hard to argue that the shutdown is working in my mind and that it's causing a worse problem to the economy. So I guess the story today is that Dr Michael Osterholm, who's an adviser, too Joe Biden on his coronavirus team is saying we need to shut the economy down nationally, Do a lockdown is what he called it for. 4 to 6 weeks. This the guy in the book about Excuse me. That people shouldn't live beyond 75% guys is a different one. So he's that that person. He also has, um Zeke Emanuel. Who's Rahm Emanuel is brother on his task force. And so every guy he's the guy that wrote the book that is that suggests that people should die. Be allowed to die when they're 75. That's this is the new you read. I'm gonna send you the link. Is a new book out this guy or manual written. He's in Pennsylvania shouldn't go to people over 75 anybody over there like, Wait a second. Joe Biden is way over, right? I wonder how they get away with that. Exactly. Yeah..

"Don't we begin with some celebrity babies? Dean is They're not speaking to us. Or he's doing a report only for dogs. I'm not quite sure but at any rate Get to Dean in a minute, and we'll talk about that. Also, the CMA awards, the Soul Train Music Awards and Chicago fire, also apparently shutting down production. Which is really depressing because it was like things were just getting going again. You know how they got there He is. And now now they're not working in Chicago. Fire. You want to wait a year? There were here taking up. I've been been talking since you said good morning. OK? They got the button straight over there. No, they have shut down production over there. This is actually the second time. That this has happened over there at the sin Escape studios where they film Chicago Fire in Chicago Med in Chicago PD. A couple of people on the production team tested positive. So Chicago Fire is now shut down for a couple of weeks in September. This happened on Chicago Med, and they did the same thing. They shut down when some people on that show Turned up positive, but they resume filming again during the pandemic season. Nine of the show just was on the air last night, so You know these kinds of things. These kinds of things are happening more and more where last night with the Country Music Association awards. Some of the performers had to back out at the last minute because members of their bands Had tested positive. Nobody got into the auditorium and Nashville without being tested first, and some people did test positive. S O lady. A formally lady antebellum was supposed to perform. They were denied entry. Rascal Flatts was supposed to be there. They were denied entry, A swell because of People showing up testing positive. You know, I turned it down last night. I was surprised to see you know, people. It wasn't Ah, virtual show. They did have some folks there. Yeah, it was a very spread out in the in the auditorium in Nashville, where they actually did this show. You know, the performers on stage were all pretty spread out. But the audience was very sparse that you know it was like it was like a wedding kind of set up with those round tables if you took every other table away And they didn't have, you know 10 people at a table like you would normally see. So they were taking the precautions last night. What was interesting was when Justin Bieber and Dan and Shay performed together last night. Interesting combination. They performed at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles to an empty Hollywood Bowl, which was really weird to see this gigantic Outdoor venue and not a soul in it. And just three people on stage performing. We've gotten used to that. All right. Well, let me put on my cowboy hat here because I know you have some audio from last night. Some highlights Jota. Yeah, we've got some performances. They were heavy into the old school performances last night. I think we're starting off with Dan and Shay and Justin Bieber. But after that Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker and how about my new favorite old Dominion Old Dominion is doing the old song looking for love in all the wrong places? They did that great? Yeah. Jason Aldeen did pay tribute to Charlie Daniels band doing Devil went down to Georgia. Um Well, take a listen and you can hear some of the highlights.

And they don't understand what the virus is, and they learned as a big learning curve for all of them, and they're pretty emotional episodes. I gotta say, I just watched the first two episodes and come later next month. Will you'll see Grey's Anatomy dealing with it? Chicago Med part of the Chicago Siri's Grey's Anatomy, of course, being super popular. Andi, So they're they're all going to have to deal with that. I hear from readers going like they don't want, you know being living with that so long Do you really want to watch it on TV, But the medical dramas really can't ignore it. It's the biggest medical story of our time. And I think the good doctor does it pretty well. And it's also through the perspective of a very unusual doctor, so that makes it pretty interesting. Yeah, so this one is outrageous to me. This next day's just it makes me want to just never buy an apple product again in my life they've stolen They've stolen a part of my childhood and I want it back. Yeah, Well, I guess you'd blame the people who license the peanuts bring into because it was who chose to get into bed with Apple to the point where they are now the exclusive home for all things peanuts. They've created a few new Siri's. And they're gonna be doing a big peanut special at some point, but now their the exclusive home to the classic episodes of the first time since the sixties, and I watched the very first broadcast of the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Christmas. I was a kid at the time on guys. They think that they're not on broadcast network TV anymore. I kept saying Kept getting letters from readers going like, Where's the great pumpkin this year? Well, it's on Apple. Good news for this weekend. Even if you're not a subscriber, you can watch it for free on Apple this weekend, the good great pumpkin, Charlie Brown, But the fact that it's not on ABC. I'm still not used to the fact that the spell on CBS, but that's not even on broadcast TV anymore. Well, peanuts fans are pretty upset, so we'll see whether this continues, But for now, it looks like when Christmas time comes the only way you're gonna get a Charlie Brown Christmas watching on Apple TV, plus It is just it's Ellery. I just so upset by the same well, it is the digital revolution. Everything's going towards screaming, but streaming, but people are people are screaming about the streaming right now. Yeah. Lucy's not going to pull a football away from Charlie when he toes to kick it. I mean, this is this is outrageous things. We can't see this. I'm just upset. Anyway. It's TV guide and Matt rounds checking out today. Thanks, Jimmy. Sort of. Yeah, well, you did set to music. I don't manage it. I grew up with this every day. Every year. I don't care how old I was. I sat down on my watch. It's the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown. And then I watched. You know Charlie Brown Christmas. Yeah, I think we all did. I mean, there's so many of those great shows, you know what really bugs me is when I'm so excited to share. One of those types of shows like yes was the night before Christmas and things like that. Santa Claus is coming to town around Christmas time with my kids, and then they're like disinterested in it because They just look, you know, those kind of animation looks so old, and yeah, so that makes me a bird lover lives? Yeah, I mean, you know, I mean, it's It's just bad animation compared to what it is today, but it was such a big part of our lives Growing up, You know, no kid, you had a sports headline for about this excitement building among Dolphin fans is rookie Q B to a tongo viol Oh, prepares for his first NFL starts Sunday.

"It's the first day of October 11 minutes after eight o'clock and Dean Richards I was thinking about you very early this morning. Oh, isn't that thoughtful? And don't let this go to your head. But here's why I was thinking about you on the way in. I'm hearing entertainment stories on the radio that you did yesterday, sir. And then I look through the papers, and I'm seeing all the entertainment stories that You talk to us about here yesterday morning. So you know, as they say, as I said today, then it awhile ago. You might want to think of doing this professionally someday. Well, hey, Here are the entertainment stories you'll be hearing about everywhere else tomorrow. I like it. Yeah, We've got the big story this morning that actually just broke overnight. Is the sad story about Krissi Teegan suffering a miscarriage she has was hospitalized this past weekend. With bleeding related to her pregnancy. She had been on bed rest for quite some time. And overnight on Instagram. She revealed that she did, Miss Carrie. She, she said that they just were not able to control the bleeding. On DH in a heartbreaking Siri's of photographs. I don't I don't even know how you do this after you suffer a loss like that. She and John Legend took pictures in the hospital room. Of their complete grief on DH sadness during this moment. I guess it's you know, part of part of the world in which we live right now that you know some people. Just want to record every moment of their life and put it on social media somehow, So maybe it's therapeutic in a way I am. You don't like it very much might be, but I mean, there's one One photo. I'm I'm not even showing it on TV because I think it's too sad of Christy Teagan and John legend holding there. Miscarried baby, you know, wrapped up in in blankets. It's heartbreaking toe. Watch it, but other photographs of just you know them, embracing each other in sadness and solace. On DH, You know, she posted some words of not everyday, Khun B Happy You know they're in everyone's life comes, you know some sadness and we're experiencing that now, so our condolences to them. They did reveal that It was a boy and the baby was to be named Jack. They do have Ah, a little boy and little girl together, But that's the big story from overnight. Uh, this morning said to hear that you can only hope that others who have gone through that somehow find some comfort in sharing with them. So you know, I I always wonder about that. I mean, I think part of it's generational, where You know, some some people feel like they must post every single thing that they're doing. On social media. Good bad pictures of peanut butter sandwiches. Everything on and I would hope that a Sze Yu said that something as sad as this is profoundly Satis this that you know other people will see it and You know if they're going through something similar or something else, That's sad, feel some comfort that They're not alone in the world. On 200 other entertainment news today. Let's talk about Chicago Med Now did that production startup, and now they're shutting down again. Order or did it ever start up again? You know it did start up again two weeks ago. And in these two weeks now Chicago Med, which is shot over its sin escape studios. In the Brighton Park neighborhood. Ah, shutdown. Ah, they've had to covert 19 cases. The first case, the set only shut down for one day. But now somebody else from the same department a person who has had working closely with other cast members and other production teams. Now this person has had a little more exposure with everybody else. So they've decided to completely shut down the set for a couple of weeks till they see how everybody is and they can assess what you know what they are and are not doing right there. The Chicago fire is not affected. They actually just started production again Recently. Same with Chicago P D. They just started up again, and I know some people who work on the set. And they tell me that the precautions are extraordinary. They are taking every precaution to keep everybody is safe as possible. So hopefully it will be, you know, gnome or going on over there that Chicago CN Escape Productions. Tch is one of the nation's largest sound stage is that's here in Chicago is enormous. And I've been in touch with lots of people on camera off camera who tell me that they're happy to be back to work, and they're happy to see precautions being taken. Hollywood's getting back right with productions in some cases. Yes, some movies that were stopped there, you know, shooting like single scenes. They're doing it very carefully. In some cases, they're doing scenes where they're supposed to be two people in one scene. They're shooting them separately and then digitally putting them together. S o, You know, that's what I like to start seeing that in movies in a year or so these digitally assembled You know movies, most of the productions that are going on right now or outside the United States. They're in other countries. The Batman movie was, you know, a good example where they got started. They had shut down. They started production again about three weeks ago and then Robert patents and star of the movie. Was had tested positive for covert 19. So they shut down for a while and, ah, you know, now they're up and running and doing other scenes and shooting around him. Until he's up and running and back, ready to go again More with Dean coming up momentarily, and we'll hear weird al Yankovich spoofing the presidential debate that's coming up. Coming up right now updates on.

Obviously, and and there's no different with how the test is taken. Is that the case? No different vows detests. Taking its live provides the opportunity for a fast run on getting the result within 40 minutes. And is it much cheaper? Yes, is cheaper than the current is. So how much is it if you're to say it in IRA and then in dollars dollar equivalent They should be around $25 per tests That may come close toe 11,000, which is still when you're thinking about it quite a steep price to pay for the average Nigerian. "And remember, you gotta answer the phone If you don't your money moves on. Looks like it'll be coming from a 513 area code. You're next chance to win coming up next. Our listen to campfire for the winning key word every weekday at 20 after between 5 20 AM and 6:20 p.m. All right, um Looting and rioting in Chicago overnight. Police said. They made a lot of arrests. They recovered at least one gun, one woman with shopping bags and her hands fell on a sidewalk as an officer was chasing her. Another woman appeared have been pepper sprayed. A rock thrown in a squad car shots against were fired from a passing car at about 4 30 in the morning at several officers. Nearly five hours into this vandalism that spread throughout Chicago last night. The Miracle Mile it looks like the magnificent mile. It began hours earlier when Officers shot and wounded a suspect in the afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the south side, the officers were responding to reports of a young person with a gun. They spotted someone who fit the description. He ran away while he was being chased by police. He turned around and fired at them, according to authorities. He was taken to University of Chicago Med Center, but his condition is unknown. About an hour after that shooting, police and witnesses say, crowd about of about 30 people. Faced off against officers holding a police line nearby. The mayor in this case, Lori Lightfoot had said that that whatever happened whatever the confrontation was between these groups and the police officers who were involved in the original shooting that this was a misunderstanding to some degree, and that the rumors started spreading, and that's when people in large numbers showed up to the magnificent mile area. This was her her discussion of it very early this morning in a news conference. Right. I there these individuals engaged when it could only be described as a brazen and extensive criminal looting and destruction and to be clear. This had nothing to do with legitimate protected First Amendment expression, which is funny that she feels like she has to say that because nobody believes that looting Is connected to an expression of free speech here was the police chief, Let's have the criminal justice system here. Deliver a strong message to these criminals that there will be consequences for your behavior. Now. This is an interesting thing that I have never seen before They raise the bridges across the Chicago River to prevent people from coming and going. Except for one on LaSalle Street. There was going to be kept open for emergency vehicles. They also because this vandalism continued into the very early morning hours in Chicago, Sita suspended train and bus service into downtown Illinois State police blocked off ramps from express Sue's And then in Portland, protesters were launching commercial grade fireworks at police in another night of rioting, they used a mortar in their attacks. Portland Police say two officers were injured. 16 people arrested, they apparently marched to a police union building last night blocked the road started setting Dumpster fires. Good Lord. What did the world What wire? Uh, But wait a minute, But it was the federal agents, the ones that we're the bad guys in Portland. Remember, they were the ones who were there, and that's what started the violence. According to the people who live in Portland. Now, according to authorities, I am ah, that Mayor has gotta strap on something. I don't care what appendage it is, but he's gotta strap on something. Get out there and stop this. Yes, the president is urging. Authorities in Oregon to call in the National Guard. Saying that that city is out of control, warning local officials that they will be held responsible. And if you lived if you lived just outside of Portland, let's say you lived on the other side of the river and urine campus Washington or you're in Vancouver, Washington, and you're seeing what's happening across the river. Don't you also burn the bridges? I mean, like World War one northern France. The Germans are advancing. You just start blowing up the bridges to prevent them from going any further. That's ridiculous on DH. Hey, I have family in Portland. I have people who were I know people. I should say. I don't have them who were out on the streets in Portland trying to? I don't know. Make a statement about something. They are terrified to go out now terrified because it's changed This this goal has changed. Well, McDonalds had fired its chief executive for sexting with a subordinate. It seems a little bit It was a little bit harsh. What was he saying to her? Do you know it's amazing? What? I didn't hear that song once over there. I didn't either. Well, I played it for my husband. Cause he didn't hear the program where we obsessed about it for four hours. Ah and I said, this is what we're doing now. Yeah, this is this is what we're making in our creative bubble. So we'll talk about McDonald's insects also coming up sports Hot takes. There's a lot of rumors going around about college football and it being postponed till the spring. The president now is weighing in. Also did you see the benches clear out from that Astros A's game. I loved it. Twitter was fantastic, but I got a letter saying Rob Manfred's probably going Sentence Dave Roberts and Joe Kelly to death for what happened yesterday really loved. It's alright Aimee King has an update on the news. What's going on 4.6 earthquake has hit a remote area outside Palm Springs. "Pick one like the house. I'll give house props that they basically for the most part will like pick like one patient. Go through it. It may be weightless may be ridiculous. But at least I pick one patient that they just examined the Ridiculousness of the patient. Yeah. I'm going off. With a lot of that I would also say there's this episode has too much with so little done with my brother. I don't know man. You're right. I think it's just so hard. Like, I don't know what your I don't know if we've had this discussion like what your favorite medical show is like, I don't watch any of this garbage for me like yeah, right. Like I think you talked like most doctors and they're like, hey, what's the most accurate and you're like Scrubs man. Like you have a show about a bunch of dead learning amateur doctors who have no idea what they're doing and that's what training is. Yeah that's down and bring it and that show was great. Everyone wants to cocky in this show. I think I think that's the biggest thing is everyone was very prideful. Yeah every single doctor and I suck. Text to do about this Johnny before the episode was like I don't think anyone's likable. Yeah, that's the we texted back back after watching it. Do we want to do this one? Because we didn't like characters any other suck any of it all suck so much me except for maybe Oliver Platt get the same. They all sucked so much. Yeah, this is so tough episode, but this clearly a lot that can be fixed. I expect the other things from Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift Off. I acted like I write things from Dick Wolf because I mean Law & Order was one hundred percent legally accurate. I will say though Scott like the Hobbs and Shaw be was a good one. That was good. I found it entertaining the probably one of my favorite movies. I saw last year. I I had low expectations for Hobbs and shocks. I haven't seen many birth. Fast and the Furious movies haven't seen like at maybe since the first or second one sand it was great. It was a blast it was raining. It was just pure fun. It was you know his show Chicago Med not pure not. You know, this show lacked fun. This show lacked The light-hearted Whimsy of the resident don't.

"So Scott you don't this is my like page. I can't I'm really talking just talking to Scott. So sorry to get really personal here for a second, but I actually was 5150 once for depression and I did kind of have have a sister conversation. But I also knew that. If I didn't go along with it, I'd probably still be getting put away for a minute. So yeah, I mean I'm with you I think we're Jackson I are both insanely sympathetic to these cases. Oh, yeah, you know the emergency department is a horrible place for for psychiatric care. It just so happens to be that's the way that our shuttle system is set up and it's not just the United States. So people who criticize the United States for her are crappy psychiatric care. Guess what it's not where it's a lot of places. However, you know, you're right like you when you make that statement of I I didn't want to necessarily go along with I don't know if I necessarily needed it but I understood the ramifications of it or not the ramifications but the legit the The Logical consequences of this like I can say no but like You said it's a Friday, you know, what a judge is not going to override that 5150 at 7:00 on a Friday night. Right? And and I think and I think most doctors would avoid having that type of Confrontation, I think most of us don't want that. I think we'd rather if that means that I have to spend an hour talking to you face-to-face and that takes my time away from somebody else. That's fine. If I really think that is the best thing for you. That's what it is and I hope that you see that but I think sometimes in these site when we talk about psyche psychiatric care and when it's portrayed in television, it's portrayed horses. Yeah. Yeah and and just as I like side note, you know for a cuz Scott we haven't ever talked about this before and be anyone who's listening. It was absolutely the right thing to happen for me. And if you're in a situation like that absolutely seek help and it was it was the best one thousand things that ever happened to me. So just want to put that out there too. And the doctors aren't trying to be the bad guys in the situation putting someone on a hold or 5150 or anything like that a lot of times. It's because you might suck. Have the insight to see what's going on, you know, like staying up for two days not sleeping going manic scaring people around you having someone actually called the police to pick you up. You might not be in that right off the frame to make those decisions and that's why a doctor would put you on a whole not just to like or not to be mean but it's really to protect yourself right to protect or off to protect the patient from themselves. Right? Like when we sign up they don't have galleries in the state of California. There has to be a justification. So it's like Gravely disabled which I think is the case for this patient or danger to solve or danger dog. And this is a patient that is so manic that she's not going to be able take care of herself and and it's kind of like the same situation with Karel where if you've got some coming in with abdominal pain your goal is to send them home because they're just going to be because they'll be a little less comfortable than normal but fine sending them home safely Thursday. That's the key with anything in emergency medicine is if you're sending someone home, you send.

Yeah this week we're talking about Chicago Med for the first time based on some stuff. I saw on Facebook a couple of weeks ago you never talked about Season 5 episode 5 of friend in me and we are joined For the First Time by dr. Scott herskovits. Hey, how you doing? I'm Scott. You want to tell us a little bit about yourself? Yeah. Sure. So I'm a pediatric emergency doctor. I actually work with the you know inimitable Jackson vein. I enjoy a lot of movies and loves to criticize them just as much these guys. So I'm really happy to be here and able to criticize them and maybe give a couple bonus points for simple job that they do off. Yeah, this this was I think all of our first Chicago Med Episode and it is drama. Yeah. Yep. The former Chicago and I would not say it's this dramatic in their cars and whatnot. At least when I rotated through there. This is this was rough as a native midwesterner. Everyone was way too skinny walk.

"And you need to be over eighteen. And then this last survey before the interview, this is struggling sentence filled out by women who calls her MC and her description of depression, she writes on running through a forest trying to find my way. To the sunlight at midnight. Nobody's cool when everyone's care, and we're just all in this too. Those no joy over apathy. Doesn't leave any marks out physically? I wish that I was a girl panic attacks. So violent rudderless mistaken for seizures shall coke in my neck. The TV's tool me romantically. I am becoming the woman that I feared said. Horse fake news. Sometimes I just go. Hey, I can't deal. You have to like fantasize about the person. I'm with what us w fucking someone else. It's okay to be different that I don't wanna die a miracle weird. So happy to be here. One day. People are going to love you. It takes a lot of work to heal. It's hard being weird kid some realize how fucked up something wasn't too. You feel the opposite of just never see what you're not what I didn't know how to break up with him. So I just transferred schools. Dr Paul Lawrie who is a psychiatrist you still practice once once a week. But your main gig is writing for TV which sounds like so fun to be able to bring your experiences in the name of the show, Chicago med, Chicago med. Yeah. It's one of the dick Walsh shows on NBC. Okay. Is it a procedural or I guess because it's not police necessarily. But is it about the kind of the day to day? I mean, it's about I would say it's kind of a procedural core. So it's, you know, there are cases of the week every week the kind of work through, and they're usually resolved. But then they're still character arcs. So there's serialized elements to it and a focus on the mental aspect or the medical aspect of it. It's medical, but there is a psychiatrist character played by Oliver Platt and then for two seasons. They're one of the character. That was a medical student became a psychiatry resident so. Chinese see sort of followed her journey a little bit as well. Got you. And what have been some moments where you've been able to bring your insight or experience and get to see it on the screen through another character where you felt like, you know, if I hadn't been in that room, they might not have been able to show this part of the process or humanity. What I what psychiatrists do. Yeah. I mean, it's it's fairly. I don't want to say constant. But I mean, you know, everyone generalizes from their experience. So some people on the staff have their own direct experiences with a psychiatrist or therapy. And or they've just read something and so trying to grounded in. Here's what people actually say in these circumstances. Here's what they actually experience. So it's you know, one one example might be. Like a specific case in episode that that I co wrote about anorexia and so being able to understand what the mentality is. And the sort of the not just the persistence, but the missing the word at the moment, but how insidious it is in terms of into every little bit of your thinking. And people would think like, well, why doesn't this person just get better or it seems so obvious to someone who doesn't actually struggle with it? And so being able to bring the the reality of clinical experiences to it. I think enhances it. Yeah. I would imagine. Because I didn't realize until I started doing this show and talking to people who have battled it that. It's from what I've told it's about control, absolutely and perfectionism often. And I assume that's because they feel a lack of control in their life. Absolutely. Very. And they come up as you know, the straight students and the perfect child, and this just becomes another manifestation of that control. I'm going to control everything that goes comes into my body. And then when they get to the the science the neuroscience of it, they actually their reward system is sort of flipped they actually feel the hunger pangs that we all get that are kind of painful, they actually feel rewarded by it in their brain. If you wanna follow the neuroscience, which I think is sort of a mixed bag and it's its own wave using leading the tail wag the dog..

"Remember I had to guard him. Okay. So please shut up. So Jordan said some bad things to me starts curse me out. Just as much the next day. Why did you call him a con me? Well, I try as dip. Probably should've picked my word little bit better. It was based on how I thought he befriended players and softened up and always trying to make the point to art team that we had to see through that. And. Challenge him like we would challenge most players in the NBA be as physical. What's him as we were with other people? And I didn't think we always work before we say goodbye, Jeff one eight you do see to my friend. He is the co creator of Chicago fire PD, Chicago med director writer, he's not on the current seasons. But if you want to start about the origin, it's Michael Brandt? So I know you're a huge fan of the franchise, Jeff. So now, you can ask brand any questions and say Hello to each other about the series. This is like this is like where I live. I like I love the show. Why don't you cargo on not work? Chicago with Chicago Justice. And if you ask me, it didn't work because NBC was secretly did not want to sports show that they dick. I like that though. Too much. Yeah. It was good. It was good. And quite honestly, they're way more shows with worst numbers that got canceled. I think when NBC took a they kind of gave in because they weren't sure how how their other shows we're gonna fair the new Justice was probably gonna work. So they gave it a shot it did work. But then there are other shows works in an ultimately, if you ask me, it's well, we really want five dick will shows on the air. And so that kinda got less behind too bad. I'm gonna say this Chicago PD. They're all good Chicago PD is by far the best Hank ROY one of the great characters of all time. And then he turns good, and then he turns back to evil, and I love that how he goes back and forth. You never know with him. And that was that's still Jason Jason gets all the credit Jason gate. He if you remember, I don't know if you watch show fire the first season, but he was just kind of played a dirty cop in Chicago fire just gonna nemesis. He was he's harassing that guy. The one guy I forget who it was. But he was okay. He was harassing because because Casey had something on his son a drunk driving thing. And then and boy kinda made it go away. And so then he started harassing them. And that was just character was so good and an actor playing. So well that really a whole TV show just came out of it because he was so solid just to the moderator here. Jeff, did you have any other storyline questions? Because I I know that there's there's always little, you know, you get that time in the hotel where you might be confused by past Orleans, no storylines like again, they're all good. But like Chicago PD for me is like like, it's like one of the great shows of all time. Now, people are gonna laugh, but it's like a great great show and still feel Bush leaving. I thought was gonna hurt it more. But it really didn't have an impact because the other characters they brought on or so good. You know, so yeah, that's the struggle struggle. The thing that we always had to try and figure out in. Chicago PD versus struggle fire was how much of it is a case of the week, and how much of it is personal storylines going to be a part of the show. And so I think there's always a pushing a pool like law and order was so much it just started with okay is dead by two cops with their notebooks taking where were you on the night of whatever and p tried to push a little farther into. All right. Let's go home with them. Listen, joy, some of their personalized that mom didn't to. And so I think for me that that was really interesting parts of of'sexual characters in there. Yeah. And everything's like, it's it's like half soap opera half like storyline..
