"So florid that I almost couldn't keep reading it. Luckily, gun much better after I think he he started at like he was starting novel. And I mean, there's a sentence where he says less a moment of daybreak than a cold shift away from the eliminated night in which the cloud ceiling and the snow cover reflect the sodium streetlights between Ludlow, blah. And I was just like I just can't can't read a whole book like this. But it was really pages. And then it got too much sort of more straightforward kind of memoir pros that I liked much better. A little scared at the beginning. So that's interesting that part of what drew me in because I felt like I was reading a novel like. You know, work of fiction and away. And you know, maybe not that heavy handed of part, but I agree with cats. He's a he's a really great writer, and I felt like I was hearing his authentic voice. Although we move you help writing it where with commas book. I don't feel. I know her any better, I feel she's completely qualified the presidential candidates. But I don't feel like are any better aware, you know, with I feel like I do. So that's interesting because I walked away feeling a little bit differently. So I was sort of surprised by how much she shied away from sharing some of. Sort of the more introspective personal stuff. It was very much narrative driven. I agree. And I learned about a lot about like the slow life in the particulars of his life. But he never for one. He's talks very very little except to say it with a positive relationship about, you know, his relationship with his parents, and I sort of watched wondering was it a good relationship? Like, I don't really know because he doesn't if it seems like he's uncomfortable sharing highly emotional or personal things. I was very surprised that he did not come out to his parents until two thousand fifteen and in fact that he did not publicly until two thousand fifteen I did not know that it had been so recent for him. And so I sort of walked away thinking gosh, you don't feel like I know him necessarily better as a person on a personal connection. I know more about his life. But I wasn't sure that I connected with him. Do you know what? I mean. Yeah, I think the the part that I liked the best was the part where he's talking about coming out and meeting Chesterton, you know, those sort of it's started to feel sort of warm, and I really liked that part, and I wished I mean, really you could write a whole book about that process. I'm sure, you know, clearly that wasn't the book he was writing. But I I wish we did get more sort of those warm moments..

"Five three three oh hope that's eight five five three, three zero hope I mentioned a different point of view on the death penalty educate Chesterton who. Is one of the great Catholic thinkers Right, so, everybody, seems to. Forgotten. That punishment is supposed to be expiation the only excuse for. It is that it is supposed to clear all scores And then Chesterton also wrote I am never comfortable about capital punishment But in any case I think. It should be the punishment, of certain kinds of treason and tyranny Rather than of all kinds of killing Okay that's where it, is today the normal garden variety murder Murderer is. Is not going to produce. A. Capital punishment case in America. It's murders of extreme cruelty And usually from career criminals Let's go to your calls and two, to June, in fort Lee New Jersey junior. On, the Michael Medved Show hi Michael height I'm an old friend of you used to worship a really, good yeah. But anyway I just wanted to say, I'm in favor, of the death penalty in extreme heinous cases like Charles Manson et, cetera when I was in Spain after. College with my friends we asked the hotel if it's safe for, us to, walk outside we've wearing mini skirts. In, those days And the hotel said, don't worry you, could walk all over the town generalissimo Franco's rules people will get, those penalties life penalty if they touch So we. Walked around we were so very safe. Nobody bothered us And they said the. Crime, rate is very low good thing, though they will be killed, well I know, that in some countries various harsh crime rates work harsh punishments work and other countries, actually can have a very safe conditions without the death, penalty June you probably, know that there's no death. Penalty in Israel The it was an exception for Otto fife men who had killed, participated in the murders of some six million people so That that was made an exception in Israel but one of the. Problems in Israel and this is also a difficulty is even the most notorious terrorists people who have killed a dozen. Children I have life. Sentences but, then what happens is other terrorists will threaten other lives to try to get those prisoners released so they can be welcomed homeless heroes, because they'd kill Jews and that's a problem I mean it's why there are calls in Israel for the death penalty for capital punishment for terrorists Let's go to, Tony? In Philadelphia you're on, the Michael Medved Show Hello Tony who Mike how are you today I'm well McConnell today Mike is. If we're Christians you Deo based country should we be killing. And on the other. Hand if, we are Christian and we kill then we go to hell to you know that right I'm not sure that most, Christians would accept that interpretation bible the, bible says no no no no, hold on hold on To hold on the the. Bible says in both sections where the ten commandments given that murder and clearly. The bible does not say shall not kill we're not pacifists. Because people are, commanded, at, various, times. To go. To war And there's also. A capital punishment, which is well, established in the Old Testament and the the idea by the way here's, an interesting thing the bible and ancient. Jewish law has no prison in other words there is capital punishment for extreme cases it was very very rarely imposed and we know that it was rarely. Imposed and then there's monetary damages but and sometimes a form of exile but No prison meanwhile let's go to relieffactor and. Linda has this. To say in Mansfield. For, Mansfield Ohio I'm so. Glad that I found. Relief factor 'cause after sitting in my desk for thirty five years and having back pain, the whole time I. Am now able to do anything. I want to do without suffering with. The back pain that I.
