"His life wasn't pitcher perfect the newly married couple would be harassed by cyber stalker in two thousand six someone took control of the cell phone email and pay pal account of the couple this is where it turned really creepy David Kushner of wired magazine would write chester was working on an album with legendary producer Rick Rubin to Linda opened a message from an unfamiliar address I'm very happy for you and Chester at red then as if to taunt her are there was a link to a website run by Chester's ex wife Samantha to lend it didn't make much of it she was married to a rock star so she knew how fans could be they blasted Lincoln Park songs outside the couple's house at three PM nailed lyrics to their front door there were always going to be encountered is that you kind of wish went differently. Chester says but the average fan really isn't fanatical two weeks after their son was born chester until Linda heard from an old friend who had received similar cryptic email from the stalker while chester was out of town to Linda got a message from the same address but this time the tone wasn't vicious it was weirdly familiar I know you're going through a hard time being alone at read my thoughts and prayers are with you the harassment escalated from there and one morning chester cell phone was called fifteen times between four. Am to four thirty am one night soon after to Linda had just put their son to sleep and crawled into bed when Chester cell phone rang this time she reached over and answered it herself I'm watching you a woman's voice said pretty soon they're Ebay and paypal accounts had been hacked into by September two thousand six to Linda hired a private investigator to figure out who was harassing the couple Chester wonder if it was someone he knew is at one of the assistance of the guys in the band is it some new person at the management company in the end the stalker turned out to be a twenty seven year old female who was a single mom in Lincoln Park Fan the private detective tractor down via her my space P h she lived with her mom in Albuquerque and was a self-described computer nerd who like grilled cheese sandwiches hated applesauce and took pride right him being a parent the stocking started after she saw chester's email address it advertently seed a mass mailing to promote a tattoo or he owned in Tempe using Chester's birthday and zip code accesses MAC DOT COM account? She started guessing passwords until she found the right one his middle name Charlie. When officials confiscated the Stalker Devin Townsend's hard-drive they found thousands of Bennington emails a detailed log of their friends and family and more than seven hundred of their private photos they also found one of towns personal photos taken backstage at a concert chester gave Arizona later that day she would text chester one last time saying I'm sorry for doing what I did to you guys please accept my apology it was her last communication to the Bennington she would later be sentenced to two years in prison.

"Born under the Zodiac sign of Aries Chester Bennington had known in Sagittarius Scorpio rising he was a spiritual truth seeker and passionate soul driven by his creativity however it was complicated by a never ending wave of emotional term oil and depression highlighting a possible danger that he might harm himself in the future to dull the pain Bennington sought healing through his music and relationships with others his first serious romance was with Elka Brand and together they had a son named Jamie born on may twelfth nineteen ninety-six but the relationship would be short lived and just a few months later his son was born Bennington would move on to a new relationship that would change his life forever Chester Medicine Wife Samantha at a music festival he was performing and he spotted her in the crowd he said to his bandmates see that girl right there I'm going to marry her Samantha A- savage and Chester and stories were a perfect match although they didn't have any money she supported his pursuit of rock stardom and the two married on October thirty first nineteen eighty six they were so broke at the time he couldn't afford to buy rings so they opted for Tattoo wedding bands instead cement that was supportive of them and they traveled the road to fame together while they were still living in Phoenix she would never allow him to quit music and encouraged him to practicing on a daily basis she would later tell David Fricke of Rolling Stone magazine when you really love someone you want to support him winchester left for L. A. Samantha insists she had no doubts about letting him go I believe that it would work out I also knew that if he didn't give it his all saying what if would have driven him crazy the sacrifice paid off but the road to stardom for Bennington was rough at first he was homeless for the first few months in La Bouncing from friends and relatives sofas until he had enough money for Samantha to join him rockstar couples in their lifestyles may look glamorous but the reality of course is that celebrity struggle through relationships just like the rest of us in fact finding and holding onto love might be even harder for someone who's famous not only is your love life microscope but the very nature of fame might change how you think an act in relationships when you add addiction into the mix it can be Com quite toxic life in the fast lane took its toll on chester and his marriage to Samantha he continued to be self destructive using drugs and alcohol and at the time of Lincoln Parks Early Success Bennington slip back into addiction Shinoda once told the Ardian candidly the tours we did in the beginning everybody was either drinking or doing drugs I can't think of any that were sober.

"Compact performing in the end or the fans of lincoln park with the community of lincoln park performing that song in tribute to their late singer chester bennington chester's part sung by thousands of fans on the show mike what does it feel it just to hear that so great i love it it's really moving that was the most that was one of the most special if not the most special part of that whole show and i do actually still play when i'm doing shows now i play just peon vocal play that song and do it that way actually it's because it's the way we always did it i mean we since i've at least ten years when we play that song i've told the fans like i want you to we're going to start this song i want you to sing chester's part and he would sometimes he would sing with them sometimes he wouldn't he just wait till the chorus and he'd come in then we even did there were days where we got up to the course and every all of us all the whole band cut out and just let them sing the chorus op cappella beautiful such a cool thing and you're right that does you know it's it's it's a it's symbolic of the relationship between the band and the fans like there is a blurred line in our in our relationship between where we end and they begin yeah i mean there's i mean again i wanna put words you map but there's this whole yeah where something was yeah and then it's filled by thousands and thousands and thousands of people who love you who made you never even met yeah man that's something else they the the one of the things that happened this year that was so i mean there's so many samples of why that's like that are that are that speak to what you just said when one of them is this when avi cheap passed away so chester passed away in july last year and few months later ichi passed away and we i think i think i may have made a little tweeted something about it because i had met him and i didn't know him well at all but you know i felt really bad for them and their his fans but i basically always said and the next thing i knew our fans were reaching out to his fans one on one they were reaching out to them in saying basically if you guys need a shoulder to lean on oh man we will be there for you because we get it we've we've already been through it this year and and we know it's like we know how you feel i couldn't believe that like no none of us in the band or our people our management or anybody who's like related us said hey guys this is how we feel you know the fans just would did it because it's the kind of people there i got to talk to you about i know you gotta go so i'll keep a quick that night raise a lot of money for the one more light fund which hardly shines light on mental health and helping families individuals cope with mental and emotional struggles unfortunately given the job that i do this isn't the only conversation like this i'd had to have this year talk about talk about about cornell has given you any perspective on what musicians might be dealing with what musicians artists may be dealing with their struggle or just people i mean look we also i got kind of brought back into it when when the conversation became started to include kate spade and anthony bourdain yeah it first of all it is it is they call it suicide contagion what one.

"One a recent interview with chester benhington which will end up being one of his last and the other with taylor and ben from the pretty reckless as they were getting ready to go out on the road to open for soundgarden in what ended up being the final shows for soundgarden or or the and they opened the final show taylor was so devastated by chris cornell suicide that she actually ended up after this interview canceling after after chris committed suicide ended up canceling a couple of her own headline shows because she was so distraught over it she's now gotten a little better and she's out there on the road doing her thing but she was devastated by chris cornell death and seen chris in his last moments before he took his own life and being the opening act on the last soundgarden show so we can listen to these interviews and maybe reach some things into a maybe not i don't know but i thought it was kind of them it's also kind of ironic because katie the other interview we had when i said well we put got to put another interview with this because it's a little bit short was the pretty reckless i said well you know what tax that together let's do a in the same week because they both have some tragedy surrounding him and connecting that way they're both about newer rock bands not certainly new but new were and they were both down around the same time which would have been a few months ago.

"So it was needless to say absolutely shocking to me and everybody else when last thursday it was discovered that chester had taken his own life and there's a lot of feelings about this and i can't blame anybody for feeling one way or the other it is sad it's tragic the man at six children he had a rough childhood but um frigate what i saw wind somewhere was some article bike give a music business is so tough listen you can say whatever you want about this situation but please don't blame it on the music industry i mean that's just utterly ridiculous a utterly ridiculous yes the music industry is rough i've been in it for thirty four years it's got its ups and downs like any job it's got its heartbreak it's got its crooks at scott it's backstabbers it's got a jealousy it's guided steve's it's got all of that but the you know chester barrington's problems were not driven by the music industry that's ludicrous the man was flying on private planes to his own shows he made it he now i mean and a money in success in the music business was not something that alluded him she can't blame it on that by any stretch them guy his problems with substances and an a a rough upbringing in and all those sorts of things and again i did not know that well but from what i've been able to taught find out sense it it in two people very close to him this was not as shocking as it was to others.
