That's exactly what Headline Capitalization does. It's a free tool to make sure what you capitalize online for publications like blogs and news articles, or for academic papers, is correct. This headline checker should help you to correctly format all your titles in the future. It's important to accurately capitalize titles and headlines for articles and papers. Headline Capitalization is a free headline checker that correctly capitalizes titles for all your writing. Article Title and Headline Capitalization Rules When it comes to creating headlines and titles for articles, it can get confusing what words to capitalize and what words should remain lower case. There are several styles of title and headline capitalization which different publications may use. For the most part, there are general rules that all publications follow with a few minor deviations between them. For those who write, it's important to understand these rules about which words to capitalize when creating headlines and titles. Major Headline Capitalization Styles There are four major title capitalization styles. These are: AP Style APA Style Chicago Style MLA Style There is no single authoritative style guide when it comes to capitalizing headlines and titles, although some are used for certain types of writing. For example, the Associated Press Stylebook (AP Style) is often used by news organizations, the Chicago Manual of Style (Chicago Style) is more comprehensive for in-depth writing, and the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (MLA style) is used for academic papers. While this is where the different styles are usually used, it's not mandatory to use a particular style for a particular type of writing. If you are unsure of which style to use, the best method is to seek out which style the course, editor, or teacher prefers so that you know, and then use that specific style. If you're in a certain field, you should learn the style that's most prominent in your field. For example, the AP Style for those in journalism, and the MLA style if you're in academics. In all cases, it's best to ask for each project to make sure since each style has its own rules. General Headline Style Rule: Title Case How to write headlines and titles is usually referred to as "headline style" or "title case." As mentioned, all styles are not the same, but there are a few general rules they all follow. These are: Capitalize the first word in the title Capitalize the last word in the title Capitalize the important words in the title The first two points are clear cut and easy to follow. The next question is, what are considered "important" words in a headline? In most cases, they include the following words: Adjectives (beautiful, large, hopeful) Adverbs (forcefully, silently, hurriedly) Nouns (computer, table, manuscript) Pronouns (they, she, he) Subordinating conjunctions (as, so, that) Verbs (write, type, create) Words in Headlines That Aren't Capitalized The above words are the ones generally capitalized, so what words are usually written in lowercase when creating headlines and titles? These tend to be shorter words (under five letters long). The following types of words are generally not capitalized: Articles (a, an, the) Coordinating Conjunctions (and, but, for) Short (less than 5 letters) Prepositions (at, by, from) Alternative Headline Capitalization: Sentence Case One style of headline and title capitalization which doesn't follow the rules is Sentence Case style. This is where editors decide to write titles as if they were a typical sentence. In this case, the first word of the headline would be capitalized while the rest of the title would be in lower case, except for proper nouns. Below are a few examples of Sentence Case style headlines: How to properly write article titles A review of a hike at Grand Canyon national park The best value meal when eating at Chipotle Referencing Titles of Publications No matter what style of headline capitalization you decide to use in your writing, if you ever reference the title of a book, article, or journal, you should write the title of it as it has been written, even if it happens to be a different style than you're using for your writing. You should not change them to fit your style, and they should always be written as they appear in the publication. Copyright © Headline Capitalization 2021. All rights reserved.

"Groupie is often referred to as the golden age of rally racing. It was by the faa in nineteen eighty two and its rules gave birth to an incredibly powerful and ultimately dangerous new era of rally with very fee regulations to keep things in check. Hands on With Apple's AirTags

"Either listeners. It's brett molina. And i'm mike schneider and welcome back to talking tech. Add one more device to apple's growing roster and it might come in handy if you tend to lose your stuff yeah. Recently apple released its airtags which is a tiny device. Similar to tile or samsung's galaxy smart tags. It's about the size of a game piece from the game checkers and what it'll do is help you track your keys wallet anything else that you're worried about losing each airtags cost twenty nine dollars or you can get a four pack on apple's website or retailers for ninety nine dollars you can also purchase a variety of different holders and key rings the range between thirteen dollars to around forty I have been testing them out for a little while. Now and i've tried them on a couple of different items. Try them on a backpack. I've tried them on my keys. i also tried them on a stuffed bunny in our household name buttons who is a treasure here and often gets lost The setup for this is pretty straightforward. You know you put a little plastic tab on the back that activates the airtags. You'll then get a prompt on your phone to connect then you'll go in and label what this airtags connected to see a lot of different options. It can be your keys your wallet. Your bag whatever. It is And when she pick that you're good to go so if you do lose your keys or you lose buttons and buttons and keys actually have an airtight equipped. How do you find so the cool. Addition they have here is This option call precision finding so iphones have the find my app. Which is what we use to locate our iphone or whatever devices we have connected to our accounts but with precision. Finding you'll go to a section that is for items and once you've reached a certain distance from the item. You'll notice on fine. My it'll shift from directions to find and what it'll do is that there will be a green display the pops up see an arrow. And it'll show you the approximate distance. You're away from your item. So and it's weird because it's kind of like you're playing that hot or cold game In the way it works is as you move through and get closer. Your iphone will start buzzing really lightly and then it gets stronger and stronger the closer you get

Byron Prevails at Homestead for Second Cup Victory

"Year old Hendrick Motor Sports driver William Byron captured his second NASCAR Cup series win yesterday at the Homestead Miami Speedway, winning the Dixie Vodka 400 firing letter race High 102 of the races 267 Labs and beat second place finisher Tyler Reddick to the line by 2.7 seconds. Claim that checkered flag, not a lot of great people around me. Keep me pushing and we had a great offseason to prepare. My Rudy's come in and done a phenomenal job, and he knows how to how to push the right buttons with me and you know, I know exactly what he means when he says that, so I just had to go to work, and luckily we had enough car there. At the end behind Byron and Reddick were Martin Truex Jr. Kyle Larson and Kevin Harvick completed the top five. Six through 10 went to Michael McDowell, Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch, Alex Bowman and Kyle Busch. After three races firing joins Michael McDowell and Christopher Bella's drivers locked into the playoffs following their wins the prior two weeks and Daytona NASCAR Cup series heads out West this coming weekend to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"Okay. So let's move on to the road course at daytona. We have to go very far. We're still at the Daytona race track. They're just moving some combs and stuff around so let's see who we got for good picks for for the weekend. Now i'm looking back at the I'm i'm not even looking at the rolex twenty four the races or anything. I'm looking at last year's race at this track as well as the clash this year. All the guys. That ran the clash. This year are fresh and Again last year we had a race here so we have a little bit of data to fall back on now so now you would think i would pick the nine cars first guy but i'm not. He's my second guy we're gonna go with the seventy eight cars. My first pick. He had awesome. Run in the clash. He kept coming from the back to the front. He did finish their place here last year. And you got a couple of bonus points in the second segment. I believe it was. I believe he can take that checkered flag on sunday. Okay so now we'll take a look at chase elliott in the nine car. He's got stage points at this track in both stages last year he won this track last year and he's been dominant force on road courses. So you can't pass the nine car chase elliott for the daytona road course and then finally the last guy wanna look at. He won last week. The number thirty four michael mcdowell. The team morale is at all time high. It's his first win and he's not some road course racer. He finished tenth year last year. And using the thirty four car will also help. You spread your allocations. For the rest of the season michael mcdowell. He's on my team. Okay folks well. That's all i got for you this week. I'm hoping this Get you kicked off to a good start.

Democracy As We Know It

"The life of maryland newkirk and on november six twenty twenty after a long battle with cancer. She was fifty six. She survived by her husband three siblings and three kids including her son van. Who's a senior editor at the atlantic. I'm a mom's oldest child. I am required under law to only speak good things when a life comes to an end we the ones who are left behind. We're left with a story a really a bunch of different stories like for van. There were small stories about the way. His mom looked really playing a tie or what she cared about. Walden your church. How she treated people who was an incredibly patient what she struggled with the stress rising off her but he but when van took a minute to pull back to really zoom out on the time line of his mom's life he could see this bigger story about the country. She lived in one of the things. I like to think about is the fact that when she was born it was by no means guaranteed that she would be granted the right to vote and that right to vote would be protected looking back on her life ban sees a story about democracy and it's different than the one he was taught so i was always taught that america was founded explicitly as democracy. You know you go to school. And you're taught that this was the biggest hit in global democracy since the athenians but really to me. I have been more and more convinced that the only true phase of what might even be somewhat called. Democracy in america has been america's voting writer and my mother has seen every single day van says contrary to what you might have been told real. Democracy in america hasn't been here that long. It's only been here for fifty six years this week. Van newkirk tells the short story of democracy by taking us through the life of the woman who saw the whole thing his mom. I'm julie longoria this experiment. A show about our unfinished country as van tells it his mom was born just one year before our democracy started a mother was born in sixty four. I understand that family. Storytelling often embellished. So you have to work a little bit too well. I've not yet gotten the fact checkers on some of this. But as the story goes a mother was born in greenwood mississippi. She went home in a cardboard box. That is the legend. I believe it's probably one of those. Cardboard bassin has which not that uncommon. But yeah you know they were poor and on the way home you know drove pass headquarters of civil rights organizations staging freedom summer but that's also will be known as the summer of civil rights because of the mississippi freedom summer project it was one of the main flashpoints in the civil rights movement and there were staging it out of headquarters in greenwood mississippi where she was born dan. He say what you want. I say i wanna reddish the vote. A lot of what they were trying to do was to register black people to vote to send into mississippi that stomach upwards of one thousand teachers ministers lawyers and students from all around the country and they did that in part by bringing lots and lots of volunteers. Lots and lots of white volunteers around the country to come down to mississippi. I hope we can reach the lives as many people as possible in idealistic the constitution the bill of rights. And i think it's important for everybody to have these every was met with incredible amounts of violence so about two three weeks after that. My house was five close. Been tony one of rise. Black little beaming. They should expect possibly somebody. She was born in the middle of all this. You know a time. When greenwood was a very contentious place to live for

"That marjorie taylor lobster committee assignments. I think mccarthy didn't hold that because he doesn't like dividing the caucus or he wants to hold together the clock in the same way that pelosi wants to hold together her caucus. Mccarthy is concerned with some of the republican base. Only about thirty percent of the again only about thirty percent of the republicans voted against liz. Cheney retaining that particular seat and i guess is that it wouldn't be a significantly higher number saying that martyred hiller grinch retainer committee ship but in any case it does kill the democratic narrative. Which is that. This is not the party of liz. Cheney anymore it's the party of marjorie taylor green. The answer is right now for better or for worse and for better sometimes for worse sometimes also It is the party of both. And that means that the party needs to do a better job of dissociating from the radical belief system of marjorie taylor. Again she did apologize now. She did say that she doesn't believe that stuff anymore. So that is better than not apologizing now was just see some proof in the pudding meeting about like not saying crazy crap for several months or ever again. That'd be a good way to go. So that is where things stand inside the republican caucus as of now. The democrats are going to vote in the house. Today to strip marjorie taylor. Green of her committee assignments the goal that is to get republicans on record voting either for or against stripping marjorie taylor grena for committee assignments. This is why. I think it was a bad move mccarthy not to just strip it preemptively from marjorie hillary green. Because now they're going to be on record anyway. The talking point is going to be. You voted in favor of the cunanan lady and that is not a talk. I i'm always bewildered by republicans who are like. Yeah but the democrats don't strip. Ilhan omar misuse. Yeah and what a talking point. That's been for conservatives has not that has been pretty solid talking point i mean. Donald trump thought that was his talking point for conservatives. Really kept saying this is the party. Don't omar rashid had to leave. So how about this. How about stand up against the crazies in your own party should hold true on both sides. "What's so frustrating about these attacks. That wants the truth. Comes out so few people get to hear hundreds of thousands or potentially millions of people have already seen or shared the misleading sweets or fake news articles. Okay so first of all the irony of alexandria ocasio cortez a person who has said on national television that actual fats matter less than moral truth then there is some irony. Here is a person who has spent the entire the entirety of the last several weeks claiming without evidence that fellow congress people so far as i'm aware she's provided no evidence in this that fellow congress people were in on the riots. That ted cruz wanted her. Murdered attempted to have her murdered. The josh hawley and ted cruz are like her own sexual assaulter and here. She is being like. I can't believe people are putting out misleading information. That's really upsetting but here's where it gets dicey. What is the misleading information. Hey apparently the misleading information is that she was not in the capitol building so she keeps insisting that she was in the capitol building because in fact she was part of the capitol complex right. This is what she tweets out she tweets out. Well you know guys. I mean it's connected by tunnels she says. This is the latest manipulative. Take on the right. They're manipulating the fact that most people don't know the layout of the capitol complex we were all on the capitol complex. The attack wasn't just on the dome. The bombs trump supporters planted surrounded our offices to okay so a couple of things there one. We have yet to find the evidence who actually planted bombs she can make an assumption was trump supporters. But that actually is not publicly available information so that in and of itself is misleading information. When she says that we were part of the capitol complex and therefore they were trying to attack the capitol complex in general nancy. Mace was on the same floor. She says the writers did not breach the building k. Reporters at the time said the writers did not breach that building again. This is not to say that you couldn't have been justified or or at least she couldn't felt legitimately in authentically endanger again. People react to crisis in different ways. But what she's now saying. Which is that. Oh yeah people are saying. I wasn't in the capitol building. How dare they. Well i mean were you you not in the in in the capitol building. It's called the capitol building his uncle. The capital complex when people say the rioters stormed at the capitol building. They mean the capitol building building because they don't mean the complex right been so so she is now now she's misleading so she puts out a this email and she says we need your help. Here's what you can do. Help us combat this campaign of disinformation and others. In the future scan your social media posts with misleading information especially those using the trending hashtags. It's funny how alexandria ocasio cortez you know her emergency mode kicks in when she's training for the wrong reasons on twitter as somebody who trends on twitter frequently like once every three weeks once every month i can tell you that the best thing you can do with twitter trend is basically ignore it. That's pretty much the best thing you can do it. The twitter's one but she is Instead she she says she wants all of her followers to basically spam facebook and twitter and got a bunch of stuff taken down which is not a great look for sitting congress. Person she says don't tweet any hashtags yourself because we don't want them to spread further. Identify any post that are threatening or harassing and use the bilton report features to flag them for the moderators. Facebook and twitter. Both have built in tools for reporting posts and tweets that break the rules. The sad thing is that a lot of damage has already been shown. People already been misled and radicalized. They believe the live to a point where their hatred could someday. Boil over into violence us now. She's going to say that if you point out that she was not in the capitol building itself they are one of the kinds of people who distributes information that ends with the january sixth riots minutes. That's pretty manipulative stuff right there. She says we can keep calling out. Photoshop tweets faces. Articles misleading post. When she them okay now here is where the fact checkers get involved. Hey so it used to be the fact. Checkers checked facts right. That was the thing that they used to check was the fact not implications. They didn't fact check emotional suggestions. They didn't check factcheck. Subjective takes what they used to fact check was no facts and there are many things that can be fact. Check here so for example you could fact check whether she was actually in the capitol building at the time or you could fact check whether she lied at in the capitol building at the time. Right the answer on the first issue is not in the capitol building at the time and two. I don't see evidence that she lied about being in the capitol building of the time at both of those things can simultaneously be true but that is not what the fact checkers do because the fact checkers are just democratic operatives. They're just completely full of crap. So here is how fact checkers do their business. This is how they have decided that they are going to pervert the system and understand it matters what the fact checkers do. Because when we are talking about how you receive information you will see that sites like facebook and twitter. They use left-wing fact checkers in order to knock down right. Wing sites knocked down conservative sites and those factors are taken as though they are objective. Metrics for the news at facebook was using during the month after the election. They were using called their trusted news. Metric is like this is quality news metric and the way that they measured that is they went to basically a bunch of left-wing fact checkers and then they will downgrade any news source. That got fact checked a lot so naturally never got checked but daily factcheck a lot because it turns out that the people at places like slopes politifact hate the daily wire but love cnn. Because.

"Those states and how bad things are for the country and if we don't do it what happens. But I. would make the case I'd make the case why it's necessary. So he talked governors is what he says, but even the implication that he has the constitutional authority to cram this stuff down is not is not correct obviously can meanwhile supposedly trump is the is the person who has anti-science listen trump tweets out a bunch of stuff and he has got a bunch of stuff in the past that is anti science. Okay. Donald Trump tweeted out a bunch of crap about vaccines that I find absolutely absurd on every scientific level. Donald Trump has not been I would say friendly toward many of the findings of science in the past. Openly acknowledged this when it comes to vaccines what Donald Trump says about vaccines is significantly less dangerous than what Joe Biden is saying about the vaccines for this thing right now here's Donald Trump yesterday saying the biden should stop his anti vaccine nonsense. I'm calling on. Biden to stop promoting his anti vaccine theories because all they're doing is hurting. The importance of what we're doing and I know that if they were in this position to be saying how wonderful it is. Their recklessly endangering lives, you can't do that. And Again. This is really a case that they're only talking to just start talking a little bit negatively, and that's only because they know we have it. or we will soon have it and the answer to that is very soon. Okay. So there's this controversy that broke out because yesterday the director Robert Redfield made a couple of comments. He said there wouldn't be wide availability of the vaccine until the middle of next year and then trump came back at him. And he said, no, it'll be available sooner. I think that what the controversy is over is who vaccine will go to wide availability means general public availability but to the elderly to the most vulnerable to healthcare workers, it's supposed to be available by the end of the year I think pretty much everybody agrees on that at this point but. Again. The Party of science not being particularly scientific about vaccines not being particularly scientific about covert and apparently natural openly covering up information openly. Now it's open covering up information about covert spread in new. York shutting down the schools. This is no longer scientific. This is political. It's pretty obviously political, which is why it was amazing to watch. So Donald. Trump. Yesterday he was. He was in this presser and he was about the covert response and he says, if you just look at the at the red states, the red states actually did pretty well here he is not wrong about this. He got all sorts of flack on it here. Here's what trump said. So we're down in this show. And that's despite the fact that the blue states had had tremendous death rates if you take the blue states out where. at a level that I don't think anybody in the world would be at. We're really at a very low level, but some of the states. Were, blue. States and blue state managing by the way would recommend they open up their states. I think it's very important that they. Open up their states people on left went nuts over this because he's the president of all the state twice he separating red and blue states. This is Chris Hayes take you can just he just couldn't believe it couldn't believe it. If you take out the blue states. Well, then we're at a very low level if you don't count the deaths of Americans and there's fewer American asks if you're a state that voted for Hillary Clinton. Well, then it's your fault. I, guess your aunt's death. It doesn't actually count you see. Semesters from the president nited States I the ire from Chris Hayes here let me just point out that at the DNC, they literally had a woman whose father died of Covid suggests that her dad's Kobe because he voted for trump, the Democrats have been claiming for this entire time. The Andrew Cuomo is a model of American governance while Rhonda Santa's is a a villain of history for his handling. It was you guys who made this political you're the ones who decided donald trump was the worst president of all time. Andrew Cuomo is the best governor of all time to excuse Andrew Cuomo's garbage governance or the fact that the states that have been hit hardest are almost universally democratic states. And to justify the fact, you guys continue to back lockdown policies that are ineffective at best an extraordinarily damaging at worst. Case O, you made it red versus blue. You did it shouldn't be red versus blue. It should be everybody precedes the best policy that is clearly not what is happening at this point. The good news is again, the party signs, the Party of Science and so Nancy Pelosi I honestly she put up an ad yesterday saying that mother Earth is angry the Party of science going full on Guy Pagan here. Here's Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the house putting out an ad saying that mother earth is angry at us. That's what's happening here. Mother Earth is angry. She's telling us whether she's telling us with hurricanes on.

"Against it. There's everything about that attitude every single word about that added true. It is of course true I mean this is become the basis for lawsuits in places like Connecticut or transgender athletes are competing against biological and they're destroying them because it turns out that if you grow up as a boy, you have different physiological structure than growing. Up as a girl of course, of course I know biology the stuff super controversial to the science real crowd on the Democratic side his here's bullet fact check that caused facebook to take this. Now quote there's specific criticism is that allowing transgender girls and women's compete on the basis of their gender identity would create an uneven playing field for student athletes and ultimately end girls and women's sports quote. That's a prediction. We can't fact check. That's a prediction. We can't fact check. So they overtly say they can't fact check the present the position it doesn't matter because they say that the AD is lacking context it's missing context facebook removed it. So people. Who in fact says, we can't fact check the ad and facebook's responses. Okay. We'll take it down. This is getting be quite ugly and it's not just facebook. Obviously, we're seeing this on youtube as well a little bit earlier this week Dr Scott Atlas who's been a guest on this program. Dr Atlas had some videos on Youtube talking about covert. At has been a lockdown skeptic since the earliest days. And he has claimed repeatedly that for example, the this thing has differential diagnoses based on whether you're elderly or whether you're younger. He has said that there's not a lot of the children are passing this with great frequency. For example, it was a video of that that was taken. So you took on video saying that it did not meet with the W. H. Owes Information. Okay. Well, if you had to abide by the what the WHO says is true standard then saying in February, that this thing was airborne. Would've not would have conflicted with the WHO if you had said in late February? Hey, we should all mask that will conflicted with the whol. Using the WHO as the scientific gold standard than removing videos that conflict who which was a Chinese run operation essentially in the early days of Covid is crazy but that's exactly what you did. You to put out a statement to the wall, Street Journal saying it removed the Ala's interview. For quote falsely stating that a certain age group cannot transmit the virus. The company was apparently referring to Dr Atlases remark amid a discussion about school reopening that children called not even transmit the disease that seems to have been an exaggeration for emphasis, Dr Atlas corrected himself in the next answer saying transmission by children is not impossible, but it's less likely. That one hundred percent. True. So what they are now doing on Youtube is they're acting as though everything that you say spontaneously is a term paper. So, if I, if I exaggerate for emphasis, which everybody does rhetorically speaking every single day everybody. If you speak off the cuff, you're likely be banned by Youtube because you didn't footnote everything in precisely the way that Youtube born you get the same thing on facebook by the way. My Co host another host over here at the Michael Knowles. He's been dinged by facebook because he said for rhetorical emphasis that there was no evidence that masks work. He then followed up by suggesting that the Swedish health officials and the Norwegian officials had basically said that there's not a lot of evidence that it works. Okay. So he emphasized and overemphasized and he exaggerated emphasis in facebook. dinged him. Right. This is the kind of stuff where it only works on one side. By the way if you are a Democrat and you say the Donald Trump is removing mailboxes from the streets to prevent mail and voting to steal the election, they won't remove any of that crap any of it. A. Hero Scott Atlas on Tucker Carlson last night saying this is absurd. I think this sort of move to censor people like me and I'm not just talking about myself really has precipitated a backlash here. We saw in the media. Now lots of things have been written talking about what I said, how outrageous it is that stuff was censored or even you know an interest by some of my former colleagues and censoring the by public shaming or cancellation. These kinds of things are really destructive and harmful not only is it wrong? In terms of the truth? It's also instilling fear into the public. So it's crazy I, mean you now have a complete grip on the flow of information another example. So last night, Tucker hosted on his show a Chinese scientists, the Chinese scientists has claimed that the virus was produced in a lab and then released and I don't know if that's true or not. You don't know that store not youtube doesn't know whether it's true or not nobody knows whether it's true or not. It doesn't matter you took down the video and so to facebook by the way here's Carlson talking about that last night. It's clear that Dr Leeman Yang is a serious person. She's making a very serious claim. So within a few hours of interview last night, a video of the segment reach one point, three, million people on facebook and why wouldn't the coronavirus pandemic has touched the life of every American and justifiably. People WanNa know where it came from. But facebook still doesn't want you to know them. So facebook suppressed the video presumably on behalf of the Chinese government facebook executives made it harder for users to watch our segment those who found video to navigate a warning the interview quote Repeats Information. About covid nineteen that independent fact checkers say is false k. this standard is the problem. Okay. which independent fact checkers who are these independent fact checkers and why should we trust them? You have to check the fact checkers because not all fact checkers are created equal as we had seen, they will overtly rate false claims that are clearly true or this to separate ads just in the last week that have been removed that are overtly true and that the fact checker itself admits are basically true..

"Okay. So. There's been a lot of talk in the recent past about social media and crackdown on the flow of information and I have defended some of these companies and I've gone after some of these companies of all the social media companies I've defended facebook the most because frankly, it'd be hypocritical for me not to considering facebook has been a benefit to my company considering we do tremendous traffic on facebook but that doesn't mean that the system that facebook has set up for fact. Checking is not unbelievably skewed and actually quite dangerous. I'll give you two examples today. So facebook set up the system the system is that if you get dinged by one of their designated fact checkers, they will censor your at the remove your ad or what happens if the fact checkers that were designated are left wing. So political is not a fact checker board factors they left wing outwit is like a media matters left wing outwit outlet it is designed to fact check implications. Facts will do these fact checks where will fully admit right in the body of the article that what they are fact checking is not factually false. They'll just say that we don't like the implication therefore, we rated mostly false. Bullet fact is an overtly political outlet. The fact that they masquerade as an objective fact checker is a joke. This has been true for literally years. Now I remember several years back I could a video in which all I did was just read statistics from Pew Global, Pew global polling on the feelings of Muslims globally about a wide variety of controversial issues ranging from supports, terrorism support for honor killings, all of this I read all of this that was the entire video entire video was just noting what percentage of Muslims in Afghanistan believed in honor killing and then saying this seems like an extreme belief. That was the entire video politic rated the video falls. Because they said that my standards for extremism were not objective standards of extremism, which is not in fact, a false reading that is just saying they. With my definitions. Okay. That is that's called. The political argument does stuff all the time all the time and the fact that facebook decided to use politic as one of trusted fact checkers leads to perverse results like this and they're now two separate as that have been taken down after being declared quasi false by facebook. So the first ad came from the America I pack is one. Donald. Trump's super pacs. said, it's not related to the trump campaign. A super PAC operates independently of the campaigns. This is not trump himself. This is the America first packs from Linda McMahon who used to be the head of the small business administration. So the Super Man, this ad as you're about to hear the AD is completely accurate. There's nothing wrong with this ad. The ad makes simple claim Joe Biden is going to raise your taxes. That's the entire claim. Fact of the ad mostly false it was removed from facebook on the basis affects bullcrap. FAC. So here's this Ad. Sometimes politicians accidentally tell the truth guess what if you're like me, I could have your taxes are going to be raised not cut and it's true. The new. York Times says Biden's tax increases are more than Double Hillary Clinton's plan. Even the Tax Policy Center admits taxes would increase on all income groups elect me I can have your taxes are gonna be raised not cut big tax increases crushing recovery could go higher America first. Action is responsible for the content of this advertising. There's not a single word that that is false. In fact, the the Ad itself cites its sources right throughout the AD. So politic, the launch August fourth it was then slapped they mostly false rating by fax, and then it was blocked facebook like full-on blocked by facebook. Again, the add directly quotes by saying if you elect me, your taxes are going to be raised not cut. So. What exactly? How exactly did politic fact rationalize? It's mostly false rating. They accused the pack according to John Beckley editor-in-chief of daily wire of not giving the audience of for these thirty second spot enough context and giving the wrong impression about what Biden meant. So a context check. Okay. Nothing in there is actually false. It is a the they say that it is lacking context, which normally we'd call like the basis for political discussion argument right. If you sight to me a fact and I said listen, here's what you're missing. You're missing this particular context it doesn't mean what are saying is overtly false. It means that I believe that you're not placing it in the proper context that's how a lot of political conversations go but politic fact rated mostly false. So here's how they're stupid factor begins they say a new AD FROM PRO-TRUMP SUPERPAC uses out of context footage of Joe Biden to claim that the former vice president wants to raise taxes for Americans across the board. While the America First Action Ad Presents that remark out of context. Some tax experts estimate that Biden's plan would mean higher taxes on average for all income groups. But those increases would be relatively small for all but the biggest earners. So in other words, they say that while it's true that Biden is going to increase taxes for everyone, he's mostly going to increase taxes for rich people. Therefore, the AD is mostly false. That's insane. So you're admitting the at is true. You just agree with Joe Biden policy, and so you're going to the mostly false. Pacific specifically cites a Biden campaign official as opposed evidence of the Democrats intent. The full exchange shows the Biden was saying his plan raise taxes for people who in the words in his words quote benefited from the GOP's tax cuts and jobs act of two, thousand, seventeen, a Biden campaign officials said his point was that the wealthy not all Americans would not benefit from his plan. But. Here's the thing everybody benefited from the tax cuts and jobs act twenty seven team because everybody received a tax cut so that that's a that's a bullcrap backcheck. It's just not true. The fact, check goes onto make similarly flimsy case against the ADS inclusion. Of morning, his tax increases could go higher. The supposed evidence of this being quote mostly false is the following fo- quote from Biden quote, we should charge people the same tax for their capital gains tax rate is and I. Think we should raise the tax rate back to, for example, I take it back to where it was before it was reduced, it could go higher. That's literally him saying he's going to increase taxes..

"chequers" Discussed on The Ben Shapiro Show

"Frustrate national schemes to subsume the character of local communities while simultaneously preventing those local communities from becoming autocracies. Okay. So to put that in maybe even simpler English there are. Three things that the constitution was designed to do was to enumerate powers. The government is only given a certain number of enumerated powers the constitution list them off, and this was that the government did not have the ability to infringe upon your core rights as human beings. Second, the constitutional system put in place these checks and balances between the various branches of the federal government so that you didn't have an executive branch that overran all of its boundaries or legislative branch that overrun all of its boundaries or judiciary over and all of its boundaries. Again, the idea was am embiid was opposed to counteract ambition and in doing. So your rights as an American would be protected and finally the Constitution set up a federal system, a federal system that allows the federal government to do things that need to be done but also prevents the federal government from infringing on the local character of communities. And, at the same time prevents local communities from infringing on the core human rights of the citizens inside those local communities does with the constitution was designed to do an over time as it was amended increasingly did. It is a document well were celebrating and when you see so many people in the United States today who essentially see the constitution as a vestige of a dead past. Oh, it's this document means nothing anymore understand there's a long history to that kind of thinking all the way back to the progressives at the beginning of the twentieth century and the worst presidents in American History Wilson that this view of the constitution as a barrier, the things we want to. Do the constitution is a barrier to a government becoming so powerful that it can cram down on you anything including violation of your rights in the name of pure majoritarianism in the name of the mob in the name of your local community without any sort of federal intervention in there is a balancing act that was attempting to be done by the founding fathers and they achieved it in incredible fashion. The constitution is unbelievable unbelievably durable. It's one of the reasons why. You See. So many folks on the left today and they declared Donald Trump fascists and you look at what trump actually does and you say, how? Like how the name me the fastest thing from his doing even if you thought he had authoritarian tendencies, the document has been so robust that it has prevented that from happening even if you're on the left, if the same thing is true on the right Barack. Obama I think had extraordinarily authoritarian tendencies. It's why he talked about a pen and a phone. Why he talked about bending law pretty routinely, it's why he demilitarized parts of his own government, the irs for example, but the constitution is robust enough to even hem in the most authoritarian characters who take up the presidency not doesn't mean that we don't need to do a better job of electing public leaders. What it does mean is that we ought to recognize that the constitution systems, those checks and balances are crucial and in a time when exactly those things are coming under fire, it is important to remember why they are important right now we have a scent wings and maybe both parties that see the fundamentals of the constitution as a threat to the future of the country. Who believe that enumerated powers prevent the government from doing what it is supposed to do? Why can't we just do big things? Why can't we just move beyond these enumerated powers I mean these people live two, hundred, thirty years ago. The reason that the constitution is still relevant is because human nature has not changed in the last two, hundred and thirty three years. The reason the declaration is still relevant because human nature has not changed since the declaration of independence in seventeen, seventy six. But there are people who want to overthrow these fundamental principles. Right they believe that enumerated powers are a problem because they prevent the government from doing the things we want to do, and this is what you see from Democrats who say for example that the federal government should be able to cram down on you a healthcare mandate or the federal government should be able to cram down federal education mandates or all the stuff is beyond the scope of what the federal government was designed to do. You see the same thing in the way that members of both parties seem to dislike checks and balances at that they believe that the federal government have no checks and balances right now you're seeing is mostly from the Democrats want to get rid of the Filibuster who say that the Senate itself is constituted undemocratically, which by the way is the point it is the point is that states were supposed to be able to check each other because they were independent bodies before the foundation of the United States. The checks and balances were part of the system they were designed to create gridlock when you see people bemoaning gridlock at the federal level. Gridlock was part of the system it was designed for gridlock, but people don't like gridlock except if their rights are being violated and then when it comes to federalism, you see the Democrats taking the position that states should be either summarily be overrun by the federal government or if the red state and if they're blue states should be left to their own devices by the federal government. As, soon, as you believe that the institutions of the constitution are no longer important, you've left behind the philosophy that believes the declaration is important because all of those mechanisms were designed to protect that core of gold that philosophy that suggest that all men are created equal endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights. Already so just thought that I sound off a little bit unconstitutionally because this is one of our great forgotten holidays constitutionally September seventeenth. All right meanwhile. We are seeing facebook beginning to involve itself in censorship to an extraordinary degree. There, there is a couple of stories that that are coming out of facebook that are truly disturbing and really it has more do with the fact checkers that facebook has chosen to rely upon and facebook itself. The shouldn't have set up the system this way, but the fact that facebook set up the system so that left wing fact checkers could skew. The system is really a horrible move and unjustifiable explained in just one second he's are some pretty wild stories and how social media can really screw with the political narrative. Of the left really lying the fact checkers are just so many of these factors are just liars open liars. We'll get to that in just one second first. Let's talk about a simple fact, and that is you don't actually want to go to the post office right now and maybe ever in fact, you love savings by not going to the post office not only can you save time?.

"Nomo look and I'm GonNa tell you the truth. If your candidate really had his shit together he wouldn't even need her endorsement. It will be obvious to have voters with comedy out now. Why are you so deathly? Afraid that they're not gonNA come? What what. Why are you so scared that your policies was the closest ally? Why do you need her blessing? What was that those people from coming over to you? Okay is almost as if you know you tweeted the Shit and you treated their candidate. Shit but if she were to forgive you or to say I give you my blessing. You would be able to tout that against them like well. She forgave us. Let me tell you some it. Really don't matter The people that have injured feelings over this year aren't coming. No they said you can't build a movement this way you know But yeah so. They harassed now. Kamala Harris Allen Her mentions and the thing is if if I got this tragic correctly so we're going to harass you until you do always say ride rashy while you're on then when you when you drop out or whatever right we're going to harass you into endorsing our candidate because if you don't we will check my notes here yet this is correct harass you. What's the threat harassment? Right sounds sounds like there is no three here. Yari weren't GonNa vote for me. I think I'm the most evil terrible person in the world. There is no thing you can do to me nothing to lose. What's my incentive? We'll stop any emissions. I'm okay I don't read my mentor. I'm I'm I'm a famous politician right. Don't read them some other. Women probably has a job and that's why I can bothers her every day to see what the fuck y'all be saying Elizabeth. Warren did not get this far by not being able to stay in an artist on and be like. Nah Fuck that you know. That's the whole point Jesse Jackson Endorse Bernie Sanders for twenty two thousand presidential nomination. Everybody brought up that Jesse Jackson didn't like Barack Obama in two thousand eight and said we'd like to choppers nuts off but I say you know what. The crowd at the inauguration. Still a black man. I. I'm not GonNa hit on Jesse Jackson. I refuse complex. Yes well not just that but I mean I just refuse me. I don't think I think this year where this is really more about. People picking their favorite candidate and then they work backwards from there because he didn't pick your favorite candidate or like what you WanNa do indoors body now because even that's more about fight towards sanders for a lot of people. They don't Love Biden. No they don't so just get the fuck out like it don't matter. He says he adores burning. If Bernie doesn't win he'll be like cooed. And Joe Biden. I don't give a fuck Bernie. Sanders says establishment forced out. Aim Kluber club and he put it advised stuyvesant. You mean people not wanting to vote for them. Sure people not enough people were voting for them. There's no there's no need to force them out of anything they weren't GonNa win and also this goes back to what you were saying before. He won't him in a race to chop up by votes. Nella though this one more out here dot care. So then why did Elizabeth Warren Dropout the establishment force them out to let's just doesn't take it to the fullest extent light? These aren't the only people dropped out Did this force Kamala Harris out. You know like this is the way. This is the only thing he can do. Man is he has to. He has one song and he asked to sing. It is established this eighty against me. Is THIS DALLAS. Black people in outvoting. That don't WanNA FUCK WITH ANYBODY. They don't fuck with me and don't really Fuck with people to Jag. Closer are they. They're they're they're establishment today you know if the CBC the the Congressional Black cockers. That's establishment John Lewis's styles and you know everybody establishment but you've been around for a long time to. I don't be understanding Ed. Goddamn argument right so you know. That's just the thing one of the one of the things. I was Kinda surprised by was the power this data's Amy Klobuchar. Who had worked so hard for people to J. really worked extremely hard as well out of the race. What was very clear from the media narrative and what the establishment one? It was a make sure that people coalesced around. Botany try to defeat me? We're taking our as I think. Everyone knows establishment. We are taking all the corporate establishment. We're taking the political establishment. And what you are seeing now just in the last few weeks and whilst is Wall Street the Healthcare Industry. The billionaire class put in a lot of money into jails campaign but at the end of the day. You know what I think. We're GONNA win this thing and my thing is the establishment that you're trying to run because you know if you become president you will actually part of the establishment right and we're all going crazy gray distracted dover pool man but good luck to him because I still like his policies morning Joe Biden. I don't win I think as people kneecap down a long time ago. And he didn't learn Shit from twenty six and now we're here again. You know if anything. I'm more I'm surprised. Well not surprised when it becomes a cold personality around one person. They really can't do any wrong but I'm really is really telling that his people aren't more mad at him 'cause if you really believed that his policies will help the country. You should be pissed that this is all you got at the four more you waited five years essentially to get the same fucking thing same thing and this in because he always gives you that out to blame. Establishment can blame him. No it can be like dude. You let us down. This is trash. This same campaign is not good enough. You knew it wasn't good enough four or five years ago. Why would it be better today if you didn't do anything different? If you decided I fucking I'm not Courtney's black rose. I'm skipping it. There was a thing where he was supposed to give a speech about race yesterday. This this summit and his panel for like black people and Shit and you know he had his negroes there cornell west and whatnot and he apparently decided not to do the not to give that speech and say gave his his typical millionaires and billionaires speech. And you know people like what like? What do you want it or not? You know what I mean like are you. Are you scared? Are you comfortable? You know my personal belief is he. May cynically be doing the math of. I can't make I talk about two black agree. 'cause the people that support me actually don't really like black people There's a bunch of anti white people who think they should be rich because they hate people who are it. 'cause they not rich and they believe in American dream in that way as they're not getting it they support me because I feel like I'm GonNa get it for them right but my but if I said and I'm GonNa get it for black people a little bit differently because their oppression has been different than yours and you're not the focal point in the center of everything you know Elizabeth. Warren says you know I think those same white people that they claim to fuck with him and be like oh no not so black people and get a little bit out of the program is going to be a little bit more targeted for their home shepherd. Abc's they then all of a sudden people don't feel as passionate quote unquote about you correct in his one those things when you you look at it you go. Oh you're actually trying to get a trump voters to an ember focusing on both of you. Yeah 'cause we see that's the thing that bothers me more than anything about his campaign is that he is willing to capitulate to the Joe Rogan. The all right the trump supporter. He's willing to. He's willing to make those concessions. He's willing to support the the the Democrat who's pro his economic agenda but anti choice. He's willing to do this days. That's when I started to get upset with the do because it was like well you you understand that you understand how to build coalitions when it suits you. You're not an idiot You just don't so. This apparently just does not matter to you. Nuke within than if it don't matter you don't look for people to vote. Then yeah they're not gonNA vote for you if you don't matter. Yeah so you know I was like I said it's it's more sad to me. That is happening right. I wasn't joking yesterday. I when I stay on the show. I went already about the shirt like if you win the sit on beyond like yeah. Let's go to burn. Let's let's get this again votes. I'd like this is better than trump period right and I and I would have voted for him to. I don't have a problem in a lot of black people who voted for him if he would have built inroads if he would have came down here and we were supposed to do but he didn't so they was like well. Who are you via? And we morally consistent because Dan Would Elizabeth Warren like that. Either you know not not saying that we the only ones I feel like we was. Kinda was the only ones that really did fuck play. It wasn't like a enough of us. I felt fuck where her like that. Either 'cause because at the end of the day no matter what her plans are. We don't know her like this was a get to know you kind of thing for a lot of black people and at the end of the day they pick the person they know even if. I disappointed us before we know him and he'll come back and say here's what I can get better my bad his you know and you can say you don't care about that shit if you if you want to. You don't speak for black people because black people do care about that shit and they do all right. Let's see what else is. Oh One more thing for for we got political news. This gives me actually hope for twenty. Twenty four wow. I've been feeling like trump going in. Now he could still win obviously especially election interference and shit. Who knows is going to go but agreed but let me step out of their center. Goes for a second and Like I said it's bitter sweet but turn out in a Democratic presidential primary has been strong across suburban counties from northern Virginia to Southern California. And it's the same thing that fuel the twenty eighteen way in several counties turnout has exceeded that of four years ago and in some cases it has bested..

"Programs and GonNa make happen whether he gives details of the plans or not. He's going to do it. And we all need to get in line and do what he says right and at the same time he can't even control his people. He can't even admonishes people you know. He can't even disavow his people. That does say something and I'm not saying no other politician will ever have a row person. These are a lot of people just like it was like every single candidate has had at least one or two bad like some gone on the new Samsung Stupid Shit. New like God damn it. Hillary don't need or Rhino Lizardo. Need somebody saying stupid. That consistent thing right this do consistently has it you know. I can't remember if it was in this article yet. Is Okay Cool. So it's worth watching clear to get a sense. How deeply frustrating for warranty stars off talking about our long friendship with sanders? How much especially it has for them. And then she payments to an emotional discussion of online harass me. You hear that it's clearly shaped our perception of the race you can understand why warranties and things Sanders Disavowal rings a bit hollow yet because he also said you know. What did you talk to him about this harassment? My Matt. I'll say this and Warren was like yes and she said well. How did that conversation go? And she said it was short right because he don't WanNa talk about it. You don't care at all right you don't care why the fuck would vote for you. This part of his. It's part of. It's helping him. So why would he raining here? You know and like I say it might expose him as the king were no clothes you know they emperor close. He says cut dish it out and it keeps going. Oh wait a minute this move out about two at all you can understand. Why why. Why warrants thing to think is his disavows where you're GONNA be hollow. Sanders sat down for an interview with Chapo Trap House. The dirtbag left podcast hosts repeatedly serve up something about vicious personal attacks on Warren. Santa Speechwriter Davis Arroyo. Sirotta has also appeared on that show while working on a campaign as has National Press Secretary. Brianna joy gray now. Here's the reason that matters chapel crap house which makes just on Patriot alone. One hundred seventy five thousand dollars a month. Yeah there's some of that the socialism I need to get some. Don't we need to Hop on his bandwagon? God damned damned being black man because really if it wasn't for this love and myself shit boy right. If I didn't learn my people we could flip this. I don't know into some changes. Be Able to owning dance and she it come out establishment and the boozy black people that I know about them niggers over there right we could be doing all that stupid shit but Yeah so here's the thing chapel trap house is a place that does these attacks right. These are this is the place where they are you know under the guise of we just love socialism so much they basically do some game gay type. Shit you know and And they are very if it's not burning. We won't vote for anybody else along. Okay Koo Koo Koo Koo. Why do you have your surrogates go on that show? Why did you go on that show right? If you're real. If you marched with King why do you go on and show something about that? Is incongruent with your what you claim to stand for. You know same thing going on Joe Rogan show. You don't get to go on a show would it do muses about Collina's it can? Why can't I called People Nigger a couple times a year? You just don't get to do that. And kind to be the guy who marched cain right right and it's also for me when you look at that goes when black people see that they go. Oh you don't actually fuck with like like like for as a black person that is really what you tell us was obviously disappointed. He's gives the speeches he's gives the his right and then we'll go. You don't fuck about black people you don't campaign in the South Care. He Martin Luther King. Okay I give a fuck you Mars with King fifty sixty years ago and can't that's all you gotta do. So get out. Jeffrey coffin NIP EILLY man to ever march king. I wouldn't care if he jumped in front of the bullet. No okay don't care all right so the fact that they go there and then like you know even like touting. The protocol endorsement of Joe. Rogan is a tactical mistake. Black people don't fuck with Not like that. You know what I mean. So it's just it's just look like that is these moments or you like. I don't think this do really you know is really for us like that anyway. From Warren's point of view in my life Sanders speaking out of both sides mouth vaguely disavowed online anger in public statements while his campaign redone appeals directly to the people. Purvey in it. Yeah I mean that's not. That's not farfetched. And all these people are people including her so you know when you kick it with the people out here you know talking talking very ill of her your you know caller snake and all this shit act like they won't be feelings behind that right. It's like their solution to everything is to burn the but now they look back when you realize. Oh you need bridges get places. We actually need to bring some of her people over from her now. Defunct campaign we need her endorsement. We meet her blessing and now they're like bitch. You won't do what's and sees looking house. Get them here. You Burn it you buy work across. Even if I didn't even. She did endorse her. Endorse THEM. It would be a way people know it would not cause one the black women who are coming over there. I'll tell you like the vast enjoyed him on that. But then the second part of that is it would then be almost a slap in the face to those black women. Many of them would be like now. See that's what we worked held. Where would Yo- campaign and Shit and then at the end of the day you know a you know? One of our main issues with him is how he handles racing shit and at the end of the day you endorse him now she endorses Biden. Same thing so you know I could see a reason for her to either delay and be like well I'm GonNa wait till the primaries over and then endorsed or or not going to endorse either one. I could see the way the report. Aim of the of all the pro centers Trolling the snake. Modi's directed at worn on twitter. Too Vitriolic attacks on Nevada. Culinary Union is a shame or bully targeting to get my sanders. Judging by this interview as things I've had opposite effect on warned all anger and abuse may not go down to the ordinary voter directly but chased away Democratic Party elites sanders campaign. And if they see it as a lot of negativity and anger or source of direct attacks on them and the people they admire. They're less likely to see something. They're comfortable lining up behind and these sorts of endorsements can matter in primaries Support for Representative Jim. Clyburn Senator Amy. Klobuchar CS have already helped buoy. Joe Biden Respective States Fundamentally Sanders and his movement wanted to succeed in remaking the Democratic Party and their image. They can't just drive out every person that position of power right now. They go from insurgents. Depart to go from party leaders. They need to figure out a way to court. The people with influence in the party right now seems to be the case that the pros and is online gays are making that harder. You can call a child is if you want. That warranted other democratic lease argued letting hurt feelings get in the way of progressive politics but it doesn't change the fact that they sincerely believe this is important and no number snake emojis going to change their mind about if sanders fans are really serious about helping their guy need to think carefully about whether they help. What they're doing is actually working. I don't think they're serious about helping him. That's the thing I could arrive to I think they're serious about making a million dollars doing a podcast that you know gathers a bunch of angry people in the name of socialism and Bernie Sanders and masquerading as a fake revolutionaries and act like they're going to burn this place down and all that shit when really they just don't keep cake and and making money and torn and all that Shit. They're not they're not really going to get the guns to go. Kill the Ritchie people and all that shit either so You Know I. I do think this is why shit falls apart. You know because it is not coming from a real place you know. It's coming from mostly a place of privileges occupy Wall Street all over again where people falling in love with a movement. And then they don't examine how it was created the people at the top of this movement And all that type of shit you know and then you gotta wait a minute. What the fuck was I really about? You know like what what what what exactly was occupy movement supposed to be. And why just go away? Basically you know just the Disney. Yeah why why? Why is that? How do people just not want college anymore? You know you start interviewing people and it's like I wanNa Free College and people are like okay. I can agree with that. Why are you sitting in the streets and Wall Street? You know what I mean. You start examining individual people's stories. I don't really know that this is the movie I'll say it is Kamala hairs endorsed. Joe Biden for president. I because every time one of these people endorse Somebody Elizabeth Warren SNL and they put out a video. That's like a tick tock challenge in his her and I cannot think of her name very funny woman from SNL. Kate something Casselman thing is her name Seattle late again. For Why am I blank mckinney? Kate McKinnon yes as so. They did a video 'cause he plays Elizabeth Warren on the SNL and to take talk video as the Hit the switch channel. Just flip the switch challenge and the first one is Elizabeth Warren how holding a phone and like filming any any kate. Mckinnon is like dancing as Elizabeth Warren. And then they say. I just wanted to switch and the switch and it is Elizabeth Warren Dancing Background Cape McCain is holding the phone like you know. It's like a cute little video care. The online response. Close close the man said you know. I've been down here for two weeks. I had had something to change here. Yeah George said Okay then if you want to close up on his train you better give me a hand with the bag. Because I can't lift it off the ground together. They pushed it up the steps and shoved it onto the train. The train rock from side to side is George. Struggled to drag the trunk down our. It was dark by now. Enjoys managed to push the trunk to the back. He held up one end by the handle. The position in the corner away from the other passes then he dropped it and when they hit the floor the latches flew off. George said out. Cain the contents. The potatoes rolled out the bag. And the engineers hitting these curves and you can hear them rolling all over the floor. The man who's talking was got along. Hey Daddy you got a flashlight. The man's trunk flung open his latch. Broken the man running down the island the dark at the content and fifty one other passengers rolling with laughter and very likely helping themselves sweet potatoes. They had managed to bring a board themselves but that will make a nice sweet potato power once. They got back to Harlem Own. Hey Welcome to the blackout pike as your host. Rod and we're live on a Sunday. Do Some podcast in find us on. I tunes stitcher. Search the black guy who tips leave us five star reviews on itunes and stitcher. Seriously we love you to do that so easy way to help show out. It doesn't cost you anything and you know it just how you know. It makes us feel good so leaves views if you got a chance. The official weapon of the show is and unofficial sport. What about bullet ball extreme And of course. Today's extra is from the warmth other sons By Isabela Wilkerson Wilkerson. And that's just it. I just kinda wanted to re like one of the funnier Isabel Wilkerson. So I wanted to be one of the funnier exerts because you know there's all kinds of stuff that happens in in life and you know these books like the whole books not just our woes me blackness this and others like some shit is pretty funny you know just hearing about black life in some of the things and one of the things that you know. The book reminded me of You know we've talked about a couple of times before but the connection of blackness from the north to the south so that eggs are is basically from the people who use the trains back then to go from the north to the south and they were riding these trains. You know you'd be basically leaving from Northern oppression but still not the same southern oppression. So you'll be leaving from there and coming back home. These are people's homes. You know this is your family down here. This where your roots are literally black. People get odor even my family members. Dominicans moved back down south. 'cause it was like is the weather's tough on your body and I'm older so as people get older. A large percentage of them actually coming. Back Down South. Yeah many many. Da come back. You know so to me. It's always a reminder of that connection and I feel like over. This is not that long ago. You know we're talking sixties seventies eighties. The migration happened over. You know probably sixty seventy years. And it's Kinda. Wow that that disconnect based on what region of the country? You're born to can happen so easily. Like we talked about it yesterday but the demarcation of demonization of black voters in the south from black people who just happened to be born right because now you're talking about generations and generations so a lot of their ancestors were actually born down here. A lot of them are dead and gone and so you have generations of people now. Who Don't know nothing about south of south don't know shit about south and just you know everything almost like why people everything they see about TV. And all that shit you know because white supremacy affects us all you know to an extent we all kind of buy into it until we get to the point where we would have A. There's something wrong with my process of thinking. Yeah so I think it's Kinda interesting when during this time even as people were fleeing connection was real and one thing people always came back for. Was THAT FOOD THAT COMFORT FOOD. That that food that follows. I don't care if you're in a black city. A black part of the world like wherever in America? And it's not in the south. You got somewhere you go get yourself. Who whether they're show family whether it's some restaurant in town and you know the same way that New York City is known for their pizza? Whatever you know two south is like where can I go? Get me some real soul food and that means so much. 'cause that is really food. They nurses so is really something that takes people back to that time and it's the dishes and the food that we learned to make down here and you go you go up north and it's not the same so what you had was people coming back home and trying to take the south with them. Almost you know this man. Basically stealing away you know. Some hundreds of thousands of potatoes sweet potatoes to bring back now. He probably wasn't gonNA eat out. Potatoes sell to so other people can make those recipes. They missed to have those ingredients. That you just can't get up there you know and this is the time before you can just Amazon Shit. In Long. Every GROCERY STORE HAD EVERY ITEM. So you know those things and other things we would do is like they try and they try to like sneak out like slaughtered pigs and stuff like right so it's like. Hey you got blood coming out of your luggage. What the hell zero. This ain't no close you know and I feel like one of the things that That almost losing is that connection. You know I think there's a lot of people that feel no connection to black people as if you know 'cause like there aren't very many black families that were born in North. What you have now is black people who migrated to the north and then their children were born in north right. But you don't really have a lot of roots that started in the north because it simply wasn't really allowed in new needed money you needed autonomy Media some level and so a lot of these families where people quietly proclaim like. I'm a northern this and look down on the south you. You're from here like someone made that trip and set you up there and they never vision. I don't think hopefully hopefully they never envisioned that children looking back at these routes NBA. Like these terrible people. These stupid ignorant black people even the all black as well and I really think we have to do something to fight against that impulse. Because I believe it's real. I think you see jump out at times in different forms of anti blackness and stuff and it was really no Like some people believe the worst. You know there's We talked about another part of this book where people from the South that came up later than the people who came before them. And now we're not talking about that long later because like I said we're talking about sixty to eighty year period of time so you're not even talking about a long period of time right so I come at you but since you've been here for ten years and when you see me on the bus dress the way you address when you've got here come on talking the way you were talking when you first got here. You're judging me you're looking. I'm trying to do the same thing you were doing. You know trying to better my life or find some way out from under the thumb of white supremacy how Iraq and get foothold. And you're worried about me making you look bad or dragging you down or whatever and internalized shame that comes from white supremacy. Always judging US always the foot on our next. It's funny because in the dark and in the secret places you snuggle Yo. You smuggle your sweet potatoes you know. What are you love us? You love where you come from deep down what you like you. You don't WanNa love our right. 'cause it's like a mixed bag of things because there are a lot of children of north who in the summertime when they were small. I Dunno people still do this. No more whisper bring their children down south so that they could have their roots and they foundation and things like that they will like. I'm not gonNA let dishes die. You're gonNA taste the sweet potatoes in the Yams and you're GonNa get to know your cousins. A lot of it has stopped over the years but you know younger people. Thin used to do that because people know you're not going to forget about where we came from a lot of the foods and stuff a lot of conditions up north have died because of that because you know people stopped my you know my grading and going back and forth and to be told people don't have as many phantom unions they used to people don't have as many like big gatherings with their family like they used to and you know. I talked about this before and still do believe me Mama or grandma a big a big. Mama whatever you call her. Y'All know when she died. A lot of those traditions died with her. We're losing recipe's I'm sorry go. You really are like a joke. Some Michael says the recipes. We are but it's funny. It's making me think about when he was talking about schooling about how we have black people within their children in the schools for segregation and that was the dream but in the process the dream there was some negatives and this is process of the dream. The dream was to get out of oppression and go somewhere. There's not as the press because you know never believe oppression but you WANNA go off quote unquote free or have these illusions of freeness and the end result is that a lot of people got swept up into white supremacy and then around looked down on the people. They used to be in their shoes. I that's the end result of US driving to to escape from white supremacy but the thing is we'll never get from that. The whole point is to make you look down on the nigger in our ways. Nigger always needs that they created this artificial thing and it all any can't exist without it and so even if you decide. I WanNa make it and you know this area of where why People Vice President. Many tastes is the end result. Is You have to sacrifice what that love of blackness. Turn it to goes and I hate that here too and I'm not like those niggers I'm different than You know and that's that's a big. That's a big issue for them yet also is one of those things when it comes to quote unquote so food and how you know food too so a lot of because we didn't have a lot of money so because we didn't have a lot of money we couldn't purchase these fine fancy things but we could do is feed your ears and Fiji as really good you know and that's why a lot of times when you when you're down. South. You're everybody wanted to take the gold played. Everybody won't you because it for a lot of particularly women? Most women do the cooking. That was a way of showing love like I love. You and I can't purchase you this but would I can't go do is take the time by some Greens and Collard. Greens them some yams. I can make sweet potato pie..

We kind of forgot just how good steph curry was Kevin Durant was having a cup of coffee they're not winning championships. Yeah it's weird to me because to me is guaranteed production the guy never gets hurt he she's like seventy percent from the field and he gets to the free throw line and any rebounds and steals then he blocks he does so many things wouldn't that be more valuable than Steph who really gives you about three categories the listen I only have a five category six category leagues very basic okay so therefore guys have different values depending on what you're what you're leagues up ability you seemed and this is not a anyone using very concerned about your NBA draft they don't even care about using very concerned about your fantasy basketball address oh no not concerned I was excited but here's the thing I had it's been a long time since I've played basketball right so I don't have like an attachment to any of these players which was good because baseball I play every year football play every year so I have guys that have done things for me in the past and feel some sort of loyalty to I didn't feel any of that yesterday and fantasy basketball I was just going best availed why wasn't taking any risks I wasn't taking any chances and I feel like I did pretty good pretty good my draft you can't trip I need it's it's told you forever it's why inferno my partner is playing a game of chess okay he doesn't draft need Ho get need later he'll figure it out free agency will make a trade best player every single round and a discussion will figure it out afterwards and that's why we've won like six nine years seriously nice inferno playing a game of chess what is everyone else playing checkers You got to point that out I figured it all you just said he's playing chess I think everyone knows what I say he's playing chess that means we're all playing checkers you know maybe everyone else is playing chess at the very No one else is playing chess just know the person he's played Jagger's IV no playing. I'm playing I know this I got you the fourth pick second round Bradley Beal Oh nine to value third round Russ I was a little bit on the fence and you go in the third round yes there are there teams in the League for ten there's ten teams Russia's still there and then I took Zion with my fourth pick but that's a long play I realize he's not going to be for a while that's what the playoffs have stashed away stashed away for the playoffs. Yeah what a nice little thing there what a nice thing that stashed away for the players I play chess when everyone else is playing checkers every and I'm like listen I don't need this guy early on in the season this is for the end of the year this is my June gay little drafting statutes yeah I mean I can tell you that I would never touch a guy who's GonNa Miss Twenty to thirty four to seize it no he's not drafted stash. it's the best player available now the best healthy player available to the state is at chess just how do we feel about John Collins in this show aim free time for some ads never really thought about it I have no feeling I've got some feelings but we have an address they put it on the poll have you ever thought about John Collins where is he now plays he's always been ATLANTA OH clock cemetery yeah Atlanta back to the future reference inferno wouldn't take a hawk except for trae young chest Richard McLaren online physician competition only available at the physician determines prescriptions appropriate such clarity which full details anymore to.

"His honeymoon before the wedding I murmur I didn't hear Rumblings Murmurs Dahmer's my bet have you guys heard the murmurs that I'm Mike probably knows and my any idea when he's coming back or if he's coming back what's going on here I'm starting to get two am text messages in email so he's back in one zack from Lebanon since he's been gone and it was make sure that Mike Golic senior massages your gluts that's that's fabulous accomplish their yes I wanted this diggings at two am texts feel now you I know what you're thinking normally this would mean he's still in Asia or around the Pacific Rim because of the time difference no a two thirty am tax means. Dan Is back in Miami and back on his normal schedule actually that's earlier than usual that's what I was GonNa say it's three thirty four eastern is when I get because that's usually one am my time on the West Coast and I get a Dan Levitan out the blue I'm with Mike I've gotten him at way M three four five six you know I mean you you just never know you never know what he's what he's doing what he's thinking he's always thinking I mean we even he's sleeping he's thinking it's two am is that Dan hasn't gone asleep or Dan is already up there's really no telling him he I think he does Doctor Strange I think in the comics just takes like micro naps yeah like for thirty seconds he is like in rem leather equates up anyway accepted only needs is thirty seconds of deep rapid eye movement sleep and he's good I think that's what Dan is doctor strange plus he's not good the group tax so he doesn't know who he's texting who's in the group tax who always waking up like he has no idea nor does he care he goes down like a very inconsiderate God well no he's the most considerate guy I've ever met my entire life when it comes to texting yes that's the one that's the one spot for him yeah he can be both you can be incredibly empathetic and also not kidding doesn't have his consistencies but he's back to x means he's back we think that we say one last week at like two am and I was like Oh this is the time change but I get these two am text when he's here so how is it that I'm no matter what time he's in I always get a text at the same time I really couldn't pin down the time difference between where I was he was just because there was no consists the threat to the tax I was receiving Dan developed a time machine and was in the future and tried to contact present day us what time would he would it be to am anyway even with the aid of a time machine I don't think he's bound by the concept of time my college roommate what's that time was a concert by the white man should have life you for late all the time one thing we know for sure my college roommate's it one thing we know for sure is he's still wearing that outfit that he's been wearing oh absolutely saying about fit he's GonNa show he's GonNa come back here with that outfit on the black sweatpants black shirt with the Lebeau hats Ah that's the Friday outfit you're say took them forty eight years to wear pants regularly to work and since then he's been showing off with the same pair of pants you don't you don't think Valerie would have got him something some some vacation attire she did he didn't wearing wasted honey seriously examples the nicest spending on yourself guys I appreciate the character banter is what show is known for but sports happen. NBA happened I mean is here to talk NBA The NBA did he actually wanted start the show there so you had the raptors over the Pelicans in overtime I was a fun game would have been more fun with Zion Williamson and then you had the clippers who were trailing early one twelve to one or two of the Lakers and Ameen said something to me right before the microphones went on he said Kawhi Leonard is Michael boarded nine thousand nine hundred sixty Michael Jordan that I've seen it a hundred times when I saw in the second quarter of the Jordan right there that whole okay you guys had your fun Buchen right here both turnaround here book three pointer here in transition I was I was mind blown because what it is that you know 'cause early Michael Jordan was explosive quick he was catlike they call them the black cat he went everywhere news they call them the black cat was never heard any nicknamed the Black Cat I've heard some black I've heard Mj his erronous can we put that on the poll did you know that it Michael Jordan was referred to as the black cat I've never heard it before this I'm not talking about you media guys I'm talking about inside Okay right Google this well let's try to find inside basketball it's they've ever referred to Michael Jordan is the black guy all of Charles I mean it will be it but you're making it seem like it's anyone I can call legler and he would do legs would know he would have legs with no okay anyone who was around that don't don't call these young people you got it I google that has confirmed that he was known as the black cat the man will actually says only the people in the note to write about that it wasn't this Google you gotTa have a theme song to let people know stuff like that because I think you should just play the theme song right now no okay never mind moving along yep gave it moving this is the one time you should've played that silly believing song that was a one time are you blaming somebody I'm blaming that stood out sorry I was trying to get facts apparently Michael Jordan didn't even know this this was his nickname and they patterned his shoe after a Black Panther Paul who's more in the know about Michael Jordan the Michael Boarded seriously I think this is made up by you goes this is all you're looking for goes all all accurate that's what I did for you I know basketball I'll teach you basketball expert in basketball the Black Cat Michael Jordan but anyways he retires he goes to plays baseball comes back and he's not unathletic but he definitely doesn't have that same feline quickness and explosion that he had in his career so what does he do you. Re- patterns is getting models game after more on a mid range after incredible footwork and balance right no matter what he's doing when he's at his APEC student it's Shoulders Square he's facing the basket these jumping straight up and down and that's what we saw last night why Leonard Wood on clinic he looks exactly like what he is a guy who grew up watching Michael Jordan on Youtube over and over and over again and try to emulate that and that's the closest thing I've ever I've ever seen that's the only time I ever watched some play Basketball Jordan get a shot off from anywhere on the courtroom rise out take a jump shot his rise up of the guy that's guarding him and hits the shot at a pretty high percentage and always in control and there were a couple of ones I remember could TVs Colo Paul had a really good contest on the baseline and it went in any way reminded me of what he said Oh yeah we played against them and every time you're going to turn around I'll be you know I almost block them I'd be right there and he just hit anyone's again that's Michael Jordan dummy that's why he was the greatest ever he would hit that shot and then he tells the fenders you were this close or if you just jump a little higher you would have gotten that one he's teasing he's lean like a like a cat with the ball yarn that's what he's doing and that's quite Leonard was doing last night it was tremendous peak. Kobe didn't give you the same oh We're not like this thousand six Dwayne Wade aided by the refs no very year no no aided by the refs did remind me a lot ah Michael Jordan Cologne was wafting over on the aided by the rough smart but not in terms of the game the game like quiet the close I mean you know basketball I wholeheartedly agree this is an extension of what we saw in the summer quite Leonard it's league now he's the best player on the plan Yeah Michael Jordan I hope you're saying that I mean if you call them Jordan wait who's better than Jordan the magic with the more supercharged offensive game and he played defense last night well well I am at times he did play the events and I was like Oh that Patrick Beverley going in for a lab how fat shriveled up in the fourth quarter now that we were waiting on that I mean he did took eleven and by two points Anthony Davis Lebron James that let me tell you that Danny Green on the team that has a company she knew it wouldn't be easy to find someone to grow her team that's why she went to Ziprecruiter Ziprecruiter doesn't depend on candidates finding you it finds them for you it's technology identifies all the applicants she also use ziprecruiter screening questions to filter her candidate so she could focus on the best ones and that's how Gretchen found a new game artist just in less than two weeks with results like that it's no wonder four to five employers who post on Ziprecruiter get a quality candidate.

"Tip of the kind the noil uh through the e a and britain doesn't want to go down the norway rates we are going to end up going down the kind of the recent another piece of advisory reading i would say is modern wolf's column in the ft on this which said exactly this wipe persson is about s become canada because there isn't this hybrid model of the kind that ministers were discussing at chequers that will fly in brussels and also i mean you described as cake and eat it but also you could describe as exactly the sort of cherrypicking that the eu is always said it will not accept from britain and it seems to me the managed divergence actually makes it easy if the case to think it's going to cherrypick because it's picking over time which is terrible for the negotiating partner because it means you could be exploited down the line and you also will get painful negotiations over a long period of years which is exactly what they want to prevent so it's kind of doomed to the idea that here in the uk where preoccupied with whether this compromise holds within the conservative party when it's not realistic it's acceptable to brussels anyway is slightly fall cicle the one thing i would say though is that i think this solution will play quite well domestically carr's theresa may will give her speech probably get quite a good vita perform lot lot of the brexit supporting papers who was say this is taking back control of all trade regulations she can then take it to brussels and then they will say no and then that'll be you know perfidious brussels once again trying to stop this so from theresa may perspective i think not place quite well it may be not so great for the national interest in the economy but it protects the you know the brexit supporting parts of the country well this is what we've had for the last two years the limping along that we were discussing and just the attempt to keep the whole show vaguely on the road but a decision will have to be made and it won't be in favour of this particular idea well someone who is going to make a decision george is jeremy corbyn who as we know is spent much time on the fence.
