"Nearly chanced them at big prices to finish to constitution hills there. Just on the ground and the weather forecast, I don't trust the long range forecast at all. I know that in Ireland, there is a prediction of snow, and it's certainly cold enough for it. There's a mixed forecast in terms of the long range for cheltenham. There are forecasting rain Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, how much of it does more drizzle than anything else, it's not light rain and drizzle is kind of what's being forecast. And we know the cheltenham drains very quickly. There's talk that this week is going to be the temperatures are going to plummet in the UK and Ireland with the coldest day of the year being set. But again, we've read this stuff before and then it hasn't happened. What would be your overall feeling about the ground if it was just as it is now, Dennis? Are you expecting it to be good to soft on day one? And if The Rain does come just how much it will get into the track. Yeah, I mean, I'm expecting just with the weather's cold. I had quite a lot of rain over there in January, early January, a field has been a substance in the ground to having really got the spring wider. And he is going to take all the beating. But I remember backing hurricane fly at odds on in the champion hurdle. It didn't go well, and I don't particularly want to be backing an odds on chart in any of the greater races at cheltenham. So Dennis, he looks unbeatable. But is he? Well, he looks unbeatable and everybody's on so far has been very impressive. I don't think he's going to be a runaway winner. I think absolutely statement will put it up on raising the lawns on the pound between them so that means there's on the alleged between them. So I would say that statement will give my run for his money. You know, I haven't been blown away by statement all year, I think yoni is just doing enough and I'm sure at the start of the season they were considering a JS campaign firm. But as the theater was called gone on, you know, he looks to have got better and better and. In any other year, you'd really fancy his chances of winning the champion hurdle but I think he's going to get my run for it, but it's very hard to see past constitution. It really is, he's just looked awesome and what he's done is won every race that he's competed in by just clinical ease and precision. And he just looks a really classy harder. I've actually seen a video of modern Twitter this morning of the school and over hurdles in San Bernardino he looked absolutely electric and yeah, I think but I think he won't I don't envision him being an impressive winner. I think you'll have the battle for us. And with just a pound between them and I expect it to be the one that will probably drop them and you know, a lot of it's going to come down to ground as well and but you know I don't know what way to ground is going to be in the forest there. I'd have to be conscious that if it was soft ground it would certainly belong to his speed to some degree might even play into the favor of the small bit but look county harder winners have a good record in the race and it's between the two and I think you're looking for value for players we need to be told to be told I'd like to hear some nice interests and Davis who I think could put up a huge huge show to be told. It just depends I was going to be wrong as well. I like to move it now as kind of fancied and he's going to want to follow stateman and constitution held and I wanted to be not want to be too far off them. So you can only get involved in a battle from a long way out. He might be a little bit vulnerable to something that's coming home late and that's going to be written to run well. Something like bob on, you know, Xander here, maybe. Even the pied piper. That's going to be dropped in. And written to run well, I like to move it could be vulnerable to one of them. And so I'm going to be God's good. Could outrun the rods, basically. Finding that one to be tolerated is tricky. "I mean, I was so impressed with him when he all those years ago in the rising star and obviously chase. It felt like a long time ago because he did have a long layoff. I'm not entirely sure why, but anyway, he's burst back onto the scene. This season and third on his seasonal return behind riders on the storm was very good and equally just as good if not better last time out winning that big race at cheltenham. So yeah, I think obviously the only doubt is three miles, but to me he looks like he has all the right credentials to stay the trip. It's a bit unoriginal, isn't it to be deciding their favorite in such a big race with so many runners, but I think he probably does have all the right credentials for the race 12 stone again. He has got to step up up in trip and the weight, but I think he has every chance he's lightly raced, hopefully there's still a bit more to come. Okay, beta very kindly given us 50 pounds. "Well, ill riotta for me was the obvious starting point. But I'm not entirely convinced he gets up the cheltenham hill to be perfectly honest. And one who we know definitely does get at the cheltenham hill is still in silver. And you referenced that paddy power gold cup run when Ian seated his rider at the third last. And I thought he was traveling really well at that point. And I'm almost certainly to play the hand in the finish if he hadn't been seated. We know that he goes really well again around cheltenham. We know also that he's a strong stare who carries big weight as well. So there's plenty plenty in his favor and he's a bigger price than he'll ridot and that's what swung it for me. I think this is a really good race. I think still in silver will need a career best. From top weight here, but I think he's still got a little bit of untapped potentially still only 7. I think there's more to come from this one. I'm with you. Yeah, he's carrying 12 stone but he goes really well at cheltenham. It was a cracking run at the festival beyond cool Cody. Very impressive in April. And he would have played a hand in the finish. I don't know where he would have come in that race beyond gala, but he wasn't lucky that day. And Tristan Davis is a very, very talented target trainer. And this was always the target for him on the back of his unlucky run at the open meeting. Darren, which way are you looking? "You might want to sell now after they didn't denounce it. Thankfully. The mighty 21. I'm already boycotting next year if I ever go again. A column where four days is a slog as it is. And when I asked the mighty I 21, did he have a bad experience? Tuesday was absolutely fine. The Thursday was a joke, not in terms of cues for drinks, so much as the sheer volume of people. It felt claustrophobic and unsafe when prices went up to a hundred pounds for the club. That is me, Don, and I love cheltenham. Leopard sounds a fraction of the price. So that is a feedback that I've thank you very much everybody for getting in touch with a number of DMs that I just don't have time to read up, but thank you so much for getting in touch. We appreciate it. At final for long part and at radio on Twitter. Our loss of foreign podcast listeners and national events that have spoken to really enjoy the buzz of the Dublin racing festival and how it's an event weekend and coming over here for that. But it's also the fact that you have quality racing over a two day period. And you're still looking forward to something. The conversation in the bar afterwards is what's going to happen to cheltenham. Is this horse going to replicate that at the cheltenham festival or have that horse left the performance behind? And compare that to cheltenham, which is very expensive to go to. I'm certainly not in the camp of reduce it back to three. And that's not going to happen anyway. But there are certainly something to be said for cheltenham not being the most pleasant of experiences when you're surrounded by such large crowds and you're having to pay through the nose for the privilege of being there and then queuing for ages to get your hands on a drink. We spoke about this off there, didn't we? Beforehand and you asked if I had been to gentlemen this year and I was there on the Wednesday and I was there purely in a leisure capacity I was with a friend of mine and my son and his friend and for me a couple of those posts have hit the nail on the head. It's not a pleasant experience. Now, because the crowds are vast, you pay an absolute fortune to get in there, you can cue endless amounts of time to get a drink.

"Ride on denman. No, 'cause I didn't, I didn't see that. No, no, I don't. It was in public view, which is why I saw it and my God. This guy got absolute scalding. It was no wonder he leather ten minutes. The way he did to go win the gold cup. Do you know what do you know? I'm a massive Nichols fan. How's am I? I kind of love the way he wears his heart on his sleeve and he finds it very hard not to say what he's actually thinking. There'll be plenty of trainers it would have been in the bar or chatting to the owners or talking to the jockeys. I mean, properly shuttering away, giving it out far worse than Nichols, but at least Nichols tells you what he thinks. And in a way, I'm sort of sad that he didn't have a winner or two this year because I sort of feel that the sport as a whole in this country is healthier when it's best practitioners are really firing. And he's horses went into the meeting in cracking form and he'll have a great entry in air and we'll probably be champion trainer again. And I know that drives him hard. But he's a better trainer than that. He's a better trainer. Than that sort of that sort of approach will necessarily give him the credit for. You know, absolute master of his craft. And I'd absolutely love it next year if he, if he did bring a brave man's game or something back and that horse ended up being a proper girl couples. We've got this. We're going to labor now under this idea that brave man's game is I don't know a flat track bully or a car, do it at Sheldon or he can't get up the hill or all these other kind of strange festival preview night canards, but there's no body of evidence to really, really back that up. And you want your best horses of your best trainers running in the best races. And it was a low point for me when that horse was withdrawn. For all I can understand why they did it. My initial reaction, I had to stop myself from saying it and talks for two was or until explorer should say, bottled it. And then I just had to be professional and then just go, well, you have to look at it from the trainer's perspective. He's doing what's right for the horse. But all season, he's basically been saying about his two stable stars, stage star and brave man's game. It's intrigued. That's where he wants to go. And it was the owners who wanted to go to cheltenham. So I think you're right. I think you'll tear up entry. And it is disappointing that he wasn't on the winner's board. But.

"Matt Polly, brave man's game. Nobody else has the class. Do you agree? I think there's other horses in here that have the same class, but I don't think I can jump and hoist in your fits that Bill. I think we know the hoist and your has the class. I mean, he'd probably be a brave man's game last year, where you didn't just beat him, absolutely annihilated him, and he didn't finish that far behind him at kempton, but ahoy senor, when he jumped, he looks like he's made a word to me and the fact that he jumps, the fact that he jumped right handed at weatherbee is also a concern and I don't think there's a lot between brave man's game and hoisin or if they gallop for three miles on the flat. But there's an 1820 obstacles in a way and a way that brave man's game jumps compared is going to give him a massive advantage for he can make two or three lengths every fence when always senor is getting into the bottom of everything and jumping out to his right. That's a long way over three miles. Just an hour in this race down, we know that gallop and deschamps are going to run in a match with bob ollinger and just to elaborate on the point I won't go on because we've been so much said about the potential 5th day cheltenham, it's an absolute disaster if it goes ahead. It won't, but it won't be a match. There will be two or three other 8 side with rock up, you know, essentially quality wise, it will be a match. And who on earth wants to see a match? And we would never thought we'd see the day. Where we essentially had a match at cheltenham. The one thing that irks me a little bit is that I can't understand why a horse can't be a champion at two and a half miles. You know, there's a lot of talk, you know, you should run in a champion hurdle or a brown advisory or you should run in queen mother or a gold cup. Now, I've known lots and lots of horses really good horses at two and a half miles. I go on a very strong promise. I worked for Jeff Hubbard when strong promise was there, and now if he finished placed in to gold cups, if an area had been around, I'm sure he'd have won one or two of those. Yeah,.

Should clarify that in the without market? By all means, when you're talking to the traders at kaluki. Ask them, will they do this bed for you? Will they give you the without market? And then ask them what price they'll give you. If you don't ask, you'll never know. Could you have extra pitches at cheltenham this year, by the way? So if you're heading to the children, first of all, make sure you go and seek out the rats because they will delay you a bit. And. They're not afraid to take on the big guys. That's the best way I can put it. So in the without markets, you can get each away with some firms right now with three firms, three places, 50 of the yards. So this means you're playing for second, third and fourth. And adagio is 6 to one with one firm. 9 to two generally. And that appeals to me. The 6 to one obviously. I think that's probably the way I'm going for it. And then Nicky goes, I wouldn't rule that out. And suddenly everyone's going to start looking at this again. And you keep forgetting to ask the questions you should be asking because suddenly you think you've been given this pearl of wisdom. That is not. And again, I don't blame Nicky for that, and he probably is hopeful that these watches will blind spot because hope is a much more positive thing than expectation. When you get expectation on your shoulders, it's heavy, it's weird. It makes you worry about what can go wrong. When no one's expecting something and you're hopeful, maybe maybe he'll bind spike. "Like a very much leave Malone. And it was bearing in mind, we're going to have good grinder cheltenham. This time of the year, there's just not been very much right. I mean, it's been kind of wintry for the last one. It's not been very much mean around. And underneath the ground is we found a bit of heavy ground for a while. We had that we had plenty of over Christmas. And we had heavy drive for little while. And the tracks are ten of just heavy grind. We're doing so even in the last week, pretty deep at some length. And I pretty much, of course, it's actually last weekend. Shelton, I don't think will be anything like that. And that is that's potentially crucial. That's fine for magician. I don't think he wants particularly soft Brown. He run well here on soft on New Year's Day. But as I said, I think he's, I think he's well fine to the market, and I do all cool chord. He was well behind him. But he would not have wanted the grinder soft as that. And a lot of people don't have written them off. He found a favorite that day. And he's a bigger prize this time around. But I'd give him a decent chance here. He will again look to Luke to take up front running duties. And the question is, you know, how much he would be hassled on the front end. I don't think he will much to be perfectly honest. I look at this field and I see mostly hold up horses, one or two who I thought would race reasonably handy, but a lot of forces who want to be buried away. I don't know how I eaten the horse going to run. In terms of run style, he didn't make the running at chefs till last time. I brought a 400 arrest. I don't think he I don't think they'll be pressing on within particularly here. So it seems very cool to probably have maybe torn and frayed to deal with but that.

"Against the market leaders. I just think it's potentially very competitive. And. There are positives and negatives for those at the head of the market. I am digging my weather forecast for the weekend because it's currently good as often places and the question is how much rain shadow is going to see my trusty weather forecasting app. Tells me that Friday is going to be a fine day, although very cool. But there may be, but 6 mils tonight. Which is a little bit. It's not going to be very soft, whatever happens. We've had this issue for a while. There will be rain on Saturday but it may well come after racing according to according to this. And of course, you can't take the weather forecast as a guarantee. These things can change, which is slightly tricky one, because if I thought it was going to be a good grand race, it would change it a fair bit. Whereas if it rises as if it's on the soft side, it could look at the difference. Lots of speed on and the rest. Which makes me want to kind of look for a whole lot more, but I've had this conversation earlier on. And how everything's paranoid on the new course of cheltenham. You don't see too many horses coming off the bike to win which is a shame because the first horse that I'm inclined to give a second chance to is there under carjack who was keen on in a massive price for the party par. On the basis of how I well truly was compared to the winner from their form in novices. It's obviously an issue or two and king. He was pretty confident that he had him back to his best. And he was never in that he never featured whether any kind of chance at all that shortly traded in the run was 65. But that's because he shot up right at the back of the field and he ended up making lit progress from the second last to be beaten 9 lengths. Not a bad performance in the end, but you never had any chance of collecting win or even police money with them. They're very happy with them since he's been working well. And it was last weekend view them, and he said he was going here. This was his target. And this had been the target. This season, including at the last meeting here, but he might have been slightly lucky because under supervision of national twist and Davis was challenging strongly when he went to duck out on the run in the point where the intersection of the courses is. So I'd be delighted to see him succeed because he's a really likeable horse, but I'm not convinced by that. 300 through 5 is well topped up, he was beaten on his chest AV by does he know then got the job done an extra. I can't really see him reversing for him or does he know on similar sort of grind. I thought, does he know John better that day all told? And there are no level weirds again. And I don't think the form that the other three 5s should in beating Asuka honey bee is exceptional. It won't be 15 lengths, of course. You can really knock that. But ask a honeybee, has got plenty of ability, but it's pretty easy to beat. Yeah. That's a little bit off putting. And street of Dorian's in there as well. I wrap this up and I just say, if Oscar elite takes his chance and to be fair, he is chalked up what Brendan Paul on board. Collins has heard won this race last year with the big breakaway. But crucially, he won this race in 2016 with this old crack. So he tends to go with horses he holds a very high regard and the states very much like that. And that's part of the reason I like Australia is that Colin dropped him back to two miles for a race of Exeter, which he's won all his best horses in over the years, even though most of those horses are three miles yesterday and a two mile novice hurdle at extras not the ideal scenario for them. But the fact that he went there suggested that he was almost saying Oscar elite is my anointed nonstick for next season. And I should say, he goes like this race. An Oscar elite, I would imagine will run as long as there's enough ease on the ground. But he wasn't on one of the last meeting because the ground was deemed to be answerable. So as long as he gets the chance, then remember, that is the worst out of all the horses that were already mentioned. That's the only put in pill for instance. Excellent horses to follow with weather bees. So yeah. Well, let's check it out. Okay, the one 45 current betting for Sunday with kaluki is impaired. The more force hawkswell 6s yellow enki 6s. "Question that's been asked to ask you as a broadcaster who has been to pretty much every major events in the world. And you've anchorage a loss of mainstream on terrestrial television in america but also you've covered pretty much every cheltenham festival in your career. What was it like would know crowd. Well we had had a year. I suppose of getting used to that crowd and even some pretty big events but it was right up there as very strange indeed because i think the restrictions of tightened here in the last couple of months before or they get loosened again restrictions tighter for children than perhaps they'd ever seen it at any major fixture at certain types it than they were at the breeders cup ties than it looked in in the middle east and an in australia so it was really odd him because cheltenham more than any other event is so contingent on on the crowds and provide atmosphere. It really was a an odd not experienced but by midway through the first after noon. I'd almost forgotten at one point. The crowd that i mean if you will if you're broke cussing racing. Cd audience as distinct from it audience. Perhaps you could say that. The crowd isn't as isn't as important. Because you're not going to be putting quite as much of that into the so Yeah bye-bye halfway through day one. My mind had been taken off it. But then there were moments that punctuated the week. Where you were. You reminded of quite stock again but still the the quality of this boat was outstanding when they ride the record books. They don't want to write the asterisk. That was crowd so it didn't seem to take the gloss off too much for henry bra. Gb buck and certainly an operational. Absolutely not i suppose. And i left the impression of a performance of of of of otter total dominance on. I was staggered. By how well. She finished off the race now. Subsequent section now. The ray suggests that the reason for that was that they'd slowed the pace down. Because gordon was being a head banger. In the middle of the race they. The pace of the race had slackened significantly and really at turned into a test of speed and she was able to win like she was because as she was in grateful be. She's very very good. See she's got more than people thought she had. Indeed she was tactically. Well positioned biracial blackmore. But the the image the impression of scampering away from shahjahan episodes in a really good time the hill really good finishing split Just was just made me feel good and before you start talking about ratings and allowances where it sits in the pantheon ultime champion other.
