"Think it's the pressure. And this is now, this is now palmaris third the birthday race. The first I think in late 90s, 1999, it was 99 9 yeah. Were they met United, actually in the Intercontinental Cup final. Yeah, just an incredible couple of years for them. They come up big. And it's always tough to defend the title like this. As you said with the record of it's tough to turn anything of this magnitude. It's the 8th Brazilian winner of the Libertadores in the last 11. I do believe. Wilde. And the biggest winner I think is still independently, but they're a long way from ever. Returning to the mountaintop. But yeah, shout out to palmaris. Yeah, big, big props, this palmares. Let's return to Europe. Where do you want to go? Let's do a quick run through of some I'd like to start very quickly. Let's start in Syria. Two huge results, well, three huge results. In order of magnitude, Atalanta, beating Juventus one nil. I would say that was actually the third biggest result. That's the first time I don't actually think this is in terms of the biggest results of the week. And I think this goes on form, this game. I completely agree. In terms of the magnitude for Atlanta historic, I would say it's the third biggest result. Second biggest result, I would say is maybe Napoli beating Lazio fournel because that's again slightly with form, but the nature of the Napoli victory. And can I say this? A lot people don't like the Maradona shirts, but I think the designs.

Romelu Lukaku Is Flying at Chelsea
"Will stop by talking about the big game in the premier league this weekend. It is spurs against chelsea chelsea up big favorites in this one and not just with the oddsmakers put also with our panel to it is a clean sweep on the panels predictions. All of them have gone for chelsea to score two goals in this game and come out as winners when we talk about goals. Lukaku has four goals in full games for chelsea many expect him to be top scorer this season. But did you expect him to hit the ground running like he has craig yeah that actually entails needed. A strike hit the ground running. That's why even out and paid the big bucks could l. afford to you know how slow style to the season. Then be playing catch up. So i expect them to start well. Because he's the peak of his career is coming off a great season and that talia again all the heroes. You didn't have much breast and overstays false game was against off smokes this because they do defending So yeah i. I absolutely expected them to gwen show. Aside with structure with a way of playing with some really creative attacking players that can be rotated behind them on a very good manager. Who knows what he wants so for me. It's not a surprise
British TV Watchers Were Very Confused About American Ads.
"So a few months ago. A bunch of people in england tuned into some good ole live complete with commercials. Us tv obviously. It was the royal infused. I'm prince harry and meghan petra. Diaz is in south hampshire england. Where the meghan markle. Prince harry oprah interview was going to air the day after it aired in the us. So petra and a bunch of other brits tuned into us tv so that they could get all the royal t in real time. Wait hold wait a minute. Your family cut you off. I hall the first quarter of twenty twenty and aside from all the royal palace bombshells. There was this one thing that really stood out to brits about. us television the commercials. They were not like commercials in england. Very very pushy. Very chelsea by this do it now. Whereas it's like they tend to be a bit of jokey. Petro remember seeing an ad for some kind of medicine and she was like Okay that's a little odd but then there was another one is an element that would have been really serious so either like chronic something paying or whatever it was it was a very in depth commercial about it. And i. This is dramatic. Yeah all over twitter during his oprah interview. British people are saying the same thing. What is the deal with all of these medicine ads in the us. Because england doesn't allow commercials for prescription drugs and it never even crossed my mind. That medicine was say like was promoted. I didn't it. Did not even cross my mind that that was the thing brits were like you lot get bombarded like this daily and american medical adverts are some real dystopia and like how is the cream for your joints going to give you cancer. These are all real tweaks. Yeah breads had a lot of fun with the side effects. Petro is tweeting to and she couldn't tell who the ads were. Even for really so i didn't understand. The advocates ought to sow the medicine to the public. And somebody replies to the tweet saying it's not to sell sell it so that you go to your doctor and convince them to give that to you. Which is the strangest strangest thing. I could think called. One of the tweets was like hold on. Hold on hold on. You are supposed to go to your doctor and tell them what you need like doing. Weird low idea so many people outside of the united states. We're like what the heck is going on over there in america because while there are ads for over the counter drugs in most of the world the us and new zealand are the only two countries that allow drug companies to advertise prescription drugs directly to
Have You Been Crying?
"When i get really intimidated by someone's confidence. I have this little thing i'll do is like when they're talking to me. I'll just interrupt them and be like have you been crying. Really works no matter where their had is at. It really brings them right back down to earth. I feel like when girls are super confident. Like walking around with confidence most of the time. It's because they think they're hot. You know like i'm hot. This is my world. And i don't relate to that because that's just never been my full identity like when i was a kid for example girls that i'm talking about. They were princesses for halloween every year. They were like a princess pocahontas marine. You know like. I realized the other day that one year as a child for halloween i was an old man. I had like some stringy ray. Here my dad's old shoes. Everyone's like you're weird. I was a tarantula on your okay. Just painting the scene okay and then me and these girls we just go off in different directions. Our whole lives like out into orbit. And then when your lives intersect later it's it can be very strange because super hot girls don't understand regular girls lives so they'll give you very shitty dating advice for example like they'll be like okay. He's playing you hot and cold okay. Okay chelsea they knew it you can do. Just ignore him. Just ignore him for a little bit. Trust me okay. Just thinking are hem chelsea. Throw a little bit like all right well. I haven't heard from him in five months. Thanks for the hot ugly. I hate when female. Comedians really ugly garbage. I'm just saying that like when. I get super dolled up like the best i can hope for. Is someone like maybe. She's a
Cristiano Ronaldo Returns to Manchester United
"Twelve years after. He left manchester united's. Cristiano renaldo is back at manchester united. I well that's a good question. I don't know if you meant it rhetorically. But i'll actually answer it. I can't believe it bec-. Because i i don't know i just kinda thought especially in this window after sancho and veron with what united have with what we have been led to believe you know their their financial situation is not. They're not man city. They're not psg so they've got a lot of money they do but like they don't have infinite money no dare in that. They're in that elite spot but they're not in the infinite money spot which is occupied by chelsea manchester city. And but it's amazing to me We spoke just a few days ago. About the limited amount of places that were possibly available for cristiano ronaldo but somehow it united can make this work and it goes to show you that it really is in your pin football right now a battle between a few clubs. That can do this kind of thing.

J.J. Watt's Secret to Mental Strength
"My guest today is a bona fide. Day great american born in waukesha wisconsin plus with superhuman quality size strength power quick hands and feet america to dominate. Nfl lines of scrimmage since two thousand eleven defining himself as a warrior. One man wrecking crew future hall of famer. National women's soccer league aficionado box jumping legend who's also a chelsea fan extraordinaire. Welcome to men in blazers. Mr. jj watt. Thank you roger to kind. That was good intro. Jj are so many reasons. I revere ye above old your journey to becoming one of the best players in nfl history which has been a saga overcome challenges after another defying doubters haters illness injury along the way it said that addition to your physical gifts you have intense mental strength the ability to set your mind to a challenge and make it. So what's the secret to perseverance. Belief and dana confidence. I think it's partially a little bit of craziness. I think that there's probably a little bit of insanity in there where you go through some situations where people would say. Maybe now's a good time to stop and you say now. I don't think it is whether it was some of the injuries. I've gone through with my back the broken leg or transferring schools in college. Whatever it is. There's always been some people that said this the right decision is this the right thing to do and for some reason or another way. My parents raised me. When i was a kid. The answer has always been absolutely a threat thing to do.
Romelu Lukaku Returns to Chelsea From Inter Milan

Exploring Attachment Patterns in Relationships With Chelsea Wakefield
"Our attachment patterns are something that is almost unconscious because they're so early they have to do with our early experiences with Caregivers and whether does experience this fell relatively secure. Whether we have the kind of responsiveness that we needed or feel safe. And welcome in the world or whether they were inconsistent or sometimes they were even dangerous. So when i talked people were back. Their early. lives I find that some of them as little kids were really really focused on their parents and they wanted to know how to please them. What are the parents lawn and needs that. They could stay in alignment with them and do not get in trouble or get the kind of attention that they were longings for that creates something called an anxious attachment pattern where the lottery. Johnston is hyper focused on the other and the needs of the other and every little nuance of that other person. That indicates that there's a message then. Maybe they're displeasing them or perhaps that other person has gotten a little bit different her distant because they feel overwhelmed by the attention they start your more insecure and afraid of abandonment so that's one type of attachment patterns that we call anxious and the other type of detachment pattern looks more independent but it's also insecure attachment patterns and these are the children that grew up learning that it was best just to go to their room and read a book or play video games and they sued and settled most of the way along. So if you get paranoia somebody who is afraid of abandonment and the other in. Who's afraid of being overwhelmed by a lot of emotion are hey us that could be a really difficult herring and those two galloping across the relationship landscape because one's trying to rock closer than the others seeking says and both of them are misinterpreting accused the
Lukaku Looks for Chelsea Return
"Raking holiday to join us to discuss roman lucon q. And the possibility of joining chelsea before we get to that. Let's you back to july. Shall we say to say revenue. Kaku is untouchable for us. This summit we can say yes absolutely. Lukarco is not for sale. New cargo is an important piece on the chessboard. Available to in zoghbi. However obviously the story has snowballed over the last seventy two hours. These were protests today from the inter. Milan fans saying board. pay attention. Promises should be but it looks like new kaku is returning to chelsea. Gazettes us saying lukarco towards goodbye. Meanwhile credit sports saying lukaku atmosphere of farewell. Gab this is gonna happen isn't it certainly pointing in that direction. And the reason is and you saw signs from from injuries. Alturas interest supporters The papers they know what's happening at inter they know the degrade financial difficulties that the parent company soon has faced. They were told that there had to be cutbacks That's part of the reason why antonio conte left but there were also told that okay Hakeem he's moving on and we're gonna cash on hand And that's it. You saw those words from dr Now it's a little more subtle it's not just about not selling lukaku. Also they said if it comes in does go and we accept that we get stupid price for him. You have to sell them We want that money reinvested in the team. And it's not fair that that's going to happen. as opposed to in the money may be flowing back out to the parent company or perhaps simply being used to pay down the debt And that's really the crux of the matter. Their
Marcus Gerald From Patient to Scientist
"Marcus they must remain here so first off. Can you tell me about your current job. Like what kind of research do you do. Sure so. I'm a study director. At charles river labs in horsham pennsylvania. I work specifically in developmental and reproductive toxicology or dart as well as juvenile toxicology and essentially what we test drugs that are developed by different pharmaceutical companies and were determining their safety. So we wanna know one. Are they safe for pregnant. Women women who are currently pregnant and as well as the developing fetus. Are they safe for women who might be nursing. Are they say for men and women who are looking to conceive some or is it safe for children so a company may wanna repurpose job. They currently have in use it for juvenile. We would do the testing to make sure that that can happen to do this. We use several study designs. We have an embryo fetal development studies out. We have fertility studies pre and post-natal studies as well as juvenile toxicity studies. All right do you have like an example of some your work that you can tell us about. Oh sure yeah so we were gone a wide array of drugs from different covert vaccines that came through chelsea. Horses me personally. I worked on a kovic treatment. It was a a drug that was being repurpose from a different disease that they were trying to see if it had any efficacy coverted. We also are working with a wide list of different vaccines as well. As one interesting test article. I recently had was cocaine hydrochloride. And they're trying to determine if it could be used for nasal surgeries as a numbing agent. So it's you know we have cancer drugs we have drugs for note developmental disorders so there are a lot of different drugs that we get to work within. It's very interesting and very fulfilling and the whole
Coming of Age During the AIDS Crisis
"New york city in the early nineteen eighty s. There was only one place to go if you wanted to do something to help. In the aids crisis an old brick townhouse on west twenty second street in chelsea when i came here volunteer nineteen eighty-four. It was a very different neighborhood. And i was different to. I'm trying to put myself back in my twenty five year. Old self shoes. I'm retracing my steps. And i'm retracing the steps of hundreds of gmac. Volunteers and staff like bill cook. So i'm here with bill cox in front of colonial house. Em which is a bed-and-breakfast on west twenty second street in new york city and it is nearly forty years. Since this was the headquarters of the game health crisis As a plaque on the outside of the building that notes that it's the i was the first permanent home of the game and tells crisis and bill. Maybe you can describe to me what we're looking at Now we're looking at a beautiful breakfast. That has window boxes flowers beautiful ironwork and it bears no relation to what it was like when i volunteer here. I mean the street was nothing like it is today so it was a lot of working class people and for people living in houses world houses that have been broken up that were single family homes in the nineteenth century. Broken up into single-room-occupancy. With bathroom a bathroom on the hall. That's right. there was a bathroom down the hall. It was a run down. Old ramshackle buildings. So i would i pass by here. I don't know how many times because i was frightened really to go to work to volunteer. I didn't know what i would do. I didn't know if i had any qualifications. I didn't know what what i would find. Really sort of terrified. And i didn't know whether who i would be seeing what i be seeing people people with as pwa's which of course that's what we refer to. When waste i started volunteering. So finally i worked up my courage. You know if. I'm not gonna do it. Who's gonna do
A Prayer for Trust During Our Hardest Weeks
"A prayer for trust during our hardest weeks by chelsea de matteis read by liam martin he who dwells in the shelter of the most high will abide in the shadow of the almighty psalm. Ninety one one. Have you ever felt like some weeks. Seem like an entire season of life. Recently i was given some of the most exciting news laced with an unknown that had me in despair. It sounds odd trying to put what took place into words. But that's the best i can do. This was a moment where joy was expounding and fear nearly shackled me. I learned two things about myself in this very long week. I have not overcome my desire for control. And i saw once again. How important our prayer warriors are two weeks before this. I had spoken to a friend sharing with her. That i really felt like i'd overcome this area of struggle in my life. I believed i fully handed my desire to control over to the lord clearly and obviously i couldn't see what was coming. This news made me drop to my knees.
Does the Funnel Process Really Work?
"Every marketer i know talks about the importance of having a funnel where you have a free incentive on the bottom to get people interested then a low priced product than a medium priced product. And then some type of high end product or personalized consulting. It seems very effective but also if everyone is doing it this way. Does it really work. And do you have a funnel from what i can tell. You don't really sell anything at all besides books looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks chelsea great question. Thank you for asking it I let's just explain a bit more for listeners. Who aren't aware of this term. The funnel the marketing funnel. I mentioned it a bit and introduction. But let's say for example sake you have a thousand dollar product. You want to sell some kind of expensive coaching or some kind of actual physical product. That cost two thousand dollars and you could just start randomly calling people hoping to reach the right ones but that would be most likely ineffective in frustrating so instead you spend some time creating free content that draws in some of the ideal market you think about the pain that your ideal customer is going through you think about how you can begin relieving pain providing solutions and perhaps you make some videos or you make a white paper or a pdf some kind of downloadable guide or could be something totally different. But you've got this free content and so then you're building an audience of people who are interested in this particular topic. They're looking to you as the expert and then you think maybe instead of trying to sell them that thousand dollar product right away. You'll sell them a twenty five dollar product which is of course a much easier commitment and then from the group of people who buys the twenty five dollar product. They're already primed to buy something else whether it is thousand dollar product or perhaps something in the middle so those numbers are just examples. There are countless variations of this. The key point is that you're providing a series of stages touch points for customers to go through on their journey so to come to chelsea's question she says. Does it work absolutely. It works for sure if it's so easy. Why doesn't everybody do it. Or i forget how she phrased it you know. If everybody's doing it how can still be effective. The thing is it works as long as a few other conditions are met and these are not small conditions. You know the most important is. Do you have the right product.

What to Know About the First Ever Olympics With Transgender Athletes
"On a story. We brought you last month about LGBTQ athletes from around the world vying to make history by qualifying for the Olympics. Was a week to go before the Games opening ceremony in Tokyo. The list is expansive, a record number of out athletes are set to compete, said Ziegler is sports writer and co founder of Outsports. It's a news outlet that focuses on LGBTQ issues in sports. He's been keeping score. Said. Welcome back. Thank you so much. Alright. Well, first of all up until these games no openly transgender athlete had ever competed at the Olympics. So how much will the landscape change when those games open next week in Tokyo? Well, there are three athletes going to Tokyo that we know of Chelsea Wolfe as part of Team USA. She's a BMX freestyler. She's a reserve athlete, so Chelsea is only going to compete if one of the two Americans can't compete. Quinn is a transgender, non binary soccer player who is going to compete on the women's Canadian soccer team, but the one that's really going to get the headlines. Laurel Hubbard, a transgender power weightlifter for was competing for New Zealand. The past. Laurel has won a couple of medals at World Championships, Never a gold, but she's the one people are really talking about. And what's the conversation Ben about how or if transgender athletes should be competing in the Olympics? Well, of course, you have a lot of people who see this large woman and say that it's unfair that she's competing, but a couple things that I want to point to number one. Weightlifting is by weight class. So Laurel is competing against the largest size women. It's not as though she's competing against women to £100 trying to lift weight. The other part is that Laurel has far and away exceeded the regulations that the international in Pick committee has put in for transgender
OMG You’re So Brave
"A lot of super beautiful girls. They'll put a picture of their face online. But they'll scratch their face and they'll stick their tongue. Like you know always just floored by there real illness so inspiring to be vulnerable with society. There's also a very powerful movement going on right now on the internet that women are kind of coalition building in a very cool way. I'm talking about the hashtag no makeup. You can search it if you don't believe me but some brave women are mustering up all their courage and they will post a photo onto the internet in which they are wearing no makeup whatsoever serious okay. But when they post the photos they'll always make a big announcement and the caption. There'll be like following photograph. Cassandra not wearing any internet. Think you should annoys me too. Because in the no makeup photos they never fully look shitty. You know like they're always still in the splits in a bikini or something partial credit and then the guy's fall for it every time it's a thirst trap it's a trick and there's always some guy riding into the comments on a horse like the lone ranger. He's like leather hat. He's like deer. Cassandra i actually think you look better without me. Fans they think

"You're such a role model for everybody. And i know people get that and it has nothing to do with you. Being this cagey veteran like you had this platform you guys were. Thank you. i appreciate it. Something that i feel like a big responsibility. I know that it's so great to be in a position to be able to speak for those who don't have that voice on and to their voice you know who don't have a voice that can be heard and i really feel like that's our responsibility to fight for things that we believe in and really encourage everyone else to do the same and use our platform for good and also not only our individual platforms but as a collective group and then now that group can kinda then use you. Because i look at myself in the mirror and you know what the mirror said back to me. You've lost two in a row. What's wrong with you. I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with me. I will talk to my neutral observer co host chris wittingham and try to figure out what's wrong with us. That's your as a society because this is believe it or not. This is a three hour. "They hung on and got all three point seven. Now you're kind of looking forward and you have some current form pretty hard harder. Created the chance. Pernille harder for the uninitiated. It was the most expensive transfer in history women's football joining chelsea ahead of the season. So it's good that she's starting to find some form chelsea doing well in the champion's league as well so hopefully sam courage. We approach a winter. Break here in the women's super league is starting to find. Her performance are to kind of her place within chelsea because she's been scoring goals even when she struggled. I think the issue is not enough goals. Right like great so many chances you get six in a game and you convert one. You still leave the game with a goal but it's not enough. I think she's starting to find her form and should probably use this as a launching point for the rest of the season as we look at the development squad now as we go around the horn very exciting young up and coming goalkeeper for the developmental team. Got high hopes for this pedder check. He impressed pedder check..

"We're growing year-over-year each episode. Please help us out. We want a game the system. We need those reviews. Also, I found a disgusting review that really disappointed me don't do any of this because there was a review saying I liked them until they started talking the women's game. Let me tell you something right. Now. This podcast is always going to respect the Chelsea women said it was a very disappointed keep that garbage out of the comments. It's fine. You don't need make yourself a public bath. Don't do that. Like you can not like the women's game. That's fine. I don't understand the reason to shout it from a Mountaintop. Don't do that don't want any that I want 5 stars and tell me how great my hair looks that's all I want off. On those podcast reviews, you're making yourself look like a damn fool. And if you want to cut out Chelsea women's football from your life you're losing out because this is a winning side and they play tremendous football and we're gonna keep paying attention that Weekly here on Chelsea miked up and I hope to get every single player off that starting XI specifically because it makes this podcast better and it pisses you off good sir. And I say good day. I say good day to you. Wow, some bile there at the end of changing Mike. Well, I just I was I was soliciting ratings and reviews and I saw that garbage them over the weekend and made me so mad that I saw that literally and Chelsea were trouncing the runners-up in the league. I mean, there's such a good side. They are deserving of your attention. It's impossible now sit down watch it. You might like something and and it's it's the club that you love to like. It's the 16 important. It's the same we're pulling the same rope. We're a club of trophies. They're winning truck. Is a year in and year out you don't have to be so publicly ignorant is just beyond me and they're great stories get to know some of these players if you knew what frame Kirby had to go through to just make it to a football pitch this season. If you read anything about it, you'd have immense respect for this player. You are missing out. If you're not watching this one side. I was just letting you know anger flow let it out. Yeah, let it out. This is ridiculous who has that attitude in twenty-twenty get out of here with that being said up the Shelf..

"Welcome everybody. The Chelsea miked up. Look we got a massive guess this week. The Kyoto more remixes Chelsea mic'd up debut will ask him the question on everybody's mind. Why did he decide to say at Chelsea FC and five for his place in the squad? We will get to that with him. We promise you we will also preview this upcoming Southampton game and we will celebrate the women's team for a smashing result a three one Victory massive week here on Chelsea. Mic'd up. Let's get right into it vamos Monaco swag. I've been chasing a background of Chris Chelsea cheddar exact same man. 3131. Now did I say for one on that week's episode of Chelsea. Mic'd up. You bet your bottom dollar that's just get another lottery ticket as far as I'm concerned 3186 in performance from Chelsea's women's team Chris. This team is coming together. That is a potent attack so many options for Emma Hayes. It is terrifying. They can really overwhelmed seems dead. Manchester city is a damn good side and a massive 3-1 result. It's a basically a six-pointer any time you go up against one of those top four teams Chelsea, they right off the ship because it was a bit of a slow start same color. Now all of a sudden looking like a playmaker. We probably unfairly to her thought she was just as goal scorer. I did not know just based off the world that I saw her and what a tremendous playmaker she is Emma Hayes has his side cooking. Well for me. The interesting thing is the amount of attacking talent that Chelsea have to fit it all into one team seemed very difficult while also maintaining a balance and for me it was that balance that was most impressive part of this. They're pressing high up the pitch. They're defending pretty well. It was you know, one handball that led to the men that goal and for me just the the balance that they have in the Press when they're playing ker and harder up top Cuthbert and Kirby off the wings with G and loop ultimate feel like that's so much attacking in one team. And the fact they're able to maintain that balance and really get after City from a defensive point of view was fantastic. It's an embarrassment of riches Emma Hayes found a way to get all that Talent basically into the starting lineup and I know what a fan of g u r she's an absolute OG your favorite player in the world right now a tremendous build-up that starts with a goalkeeper..

"So timing and time and training is important. I really wish this match played out a little bit later in the season because I think after a few training sessions with fitness Chelsea or already at the level to rip this result away from Liverpool, we saw them eliminate them from the FA Cup Chelsea were capable of it last year and Chelsea are only that much better with the injury to. Pulisic for me that changes how I approach this match I still think it has plenty of goals in it I think it's GonNa be exciting and an action because nothing that I saw from Chelsea or Liverpool in their match with lead me to believe anything different Chris already a nominee for match of the year the excitement is buzzing lots of people around this country are registering peacock premium because this is must see TV that last game leaves you feeling of wanting to get back to it. You also have a pretty significant. Probably, the biggest manager issues in the League when you look at Lamport in Klopp the way that they've kind of taken shots each other in press and it was just really it's interesting. Now there's a bit of kind of needle between the two teams I. Hope Given that you know Liverpool's three two of the three premier league matches or a four three and five three that we're just infra similar kind of entertainment come Sunday if Chelsea win this match though let's live in that world for a second because I want to. Then the premier league or at least the top dogs in the primarily have figured Liverpool out, and then you're GonNa have to be a wet blanket on that episode because I'm going to go and run with the title aspirations at that point. It may be ridiculous put so much stock in an early matchup. But man if Chelsea pull this off considering everything that's working against them Liverpool seem like a pretty fit squad and they have the benefit of chemistry built up over the course of several years now if Chelsea. After just being thrown together without a lot of time during the global pandemic who boy well WH- blanket analysis is that I will not be making a judgment on this sheltie team until matchday ten like I. Just I, we still need to see so much we need to see all the signings coming through. We need to see the team style of play with everyone fit we need to. See how they're gonNA handle fixture congestion but you're right. I mean if they do start with six points from six and a win against Liverpool, it's an early sign that at the very least the top of the League is open right because I can't imagine city you're going to be as ruthless as they were a couple of seasons ago and pick up one hundred points. Liverpool is really the. Only team that can make this. You know a no doubt big big lead without question title winner and if you beat them on matchday two, then it's alright. Liverpool are vulnerable everyone is vulnerable. So I absolutely think that a lot can be taken from this match I do think it's just a bit early in terms of you compare Liverpool's infrastructure you know that starting eleven picks itself whereas we're. Talking about line of sued lineup doubts injury doubts enough that I just think that Chelsea you're right. This game has just come a bit too early for them. I wouldn't overreact if they lost this game just because Liverpool in terms of where they are and their development or so much further ahead while there's still such a huge ceiling on what Chelsea have built in this transfer window. Let's turn..

"Let's talk about our man of the match and we were getting pretty close to the time where we had to do this because otherwise, we would have sounded crazy here on Chelsea Mike saying this was coming, but you can see him hunting for it trying to be a little bit more aggressive in. Going for gold, we know in that boot, there is magic from Reese James. We saw a goal that you look you can't count on that goal all the time that is a special moment, and it's already a goal the year contender from reese. James and hopefully, there is stiff competition from his own teammates in that regard but this player in the attack is special special and there was Another special player at that same position, a former Chelsea player and Tariq Lamti who made it appearance in a memorable personal match from last year Lam ass for transfer. Why? Because of what you saw from Reese James he realized there wasn't a True Path to first team minutes as long as reese James lived and breathed and a special player. This is quite the weapon if he can improve. In, the offensive aspects of that came and maybe he doesn't if he can give you what he gives you in the attack with a little bit more consistency man do Chelsea had a very special weaponry shames and match experience is going to allow him to grow in that defensive area playing in a back line with Tiago Silva will help him grow and develop and if he can give. You goals on top of that maybe even he ends up in trial Arnold, territories taking free kicks from that kind of range because he's such a good striker of a ball, he's always going to get you good crosses down that right hand side and good service. But I think one of the things that we look towards last season is those individual moments of quality that got victories it. Just didn't seem like Chelsea had those in them and I think in this game getting one from Reese James is a sign that maybe you will see more of those and weeks to come and say, all right. This doesn't look Great Brighton of equalize. We need a moment and reach James gave you a moment and already has given you a goal this season candidate and Chris more excited. About what I didn't see in that match. Then when I saw this is why the whole three one victory at Brighton has me so happy because I know in my mind what Chelsea's first team should look like at least what the experts think you mean it tell me Chelsea you're going to be going up matches where it's re shames lining up on the same side as a team. And then the pace and skill on the.

"GonNa go Manchester United in Fourth Chelsea and Third Manchester City and second and Liverpool to win the League I. Think there is going to be some stasis is here at the top I just don't know how the dynamics can shift that much one year to the next I think Chelsea. Mentioned I will accrue a much higher points tally they'll be much bigger threats. Than they were a year ago, but I don't think that they're going to reach the level of Liverpool just I think they're going to actually drove really close a man city about an thing it's a thirty three point gap one year to the next I. I don't I don't know if that can bridge one year, I want to give you some heartaches with my. Predictions because on yeah I'm going to have to explain my top four that doesn't feature Manchester United even though they have arguably on paper the best attack in the primarily not sold on their manager Chris. I think that they're going to have some these inexplicable dips in form. I think only survived a few of those. He's usually answered right back with a really good. Run I just don't know if he can survive another one of those because this is starting to get a little old the rinse repeat aspect of an underperforming Manchester United side and thing improved arsenal and Josie. Marini will be the first to tell you how well Tottenham performed with him at the helm. They would've qualified for Europe, if I was here the entire year. Josie Marino is preaching that I still want to see the reclamation project as long as it's not at the hands of of Chelsea given up some big results but here's my top four prediction and I know your brother Matt. Whittingham was a big arsenal supporters. GonNa be really excited about this. I am drinking the Kool aid I think they finished top four ooh Arsenal fourth I. Love what they do. Defensively. "I think everything appears to me anyway looking from the outside to be in place for Chelsea to have Iran is at once again do you think that the overall top of the family because Liverpool ran away with it last season we've seen man city run away with an in previous seasons there seems to be a new winner but that new winner every year wins it by a lot. Do you think that this year with the additions at Chelsea of made? Manchester, United look much better in the second half of the season Yusuf peg guardiola men city will go again. Do you think that top four we'll be stronger and more competitive I would expect. So yes, I think that we're probably looking at a much tighter field tighter race and I think we've probably also have to take into account condensed, even more condense nature of the fixture list this season it's always condensed anyway in the primarily, but now given the pandemic. Wonder what the winners points total will be, and my suspicion would be it'll be lower this time that we might see a sort of a leveling off between the top three teams that really are in contention, and some of that will be to do with the pandemic. Some of it might be to do with Chelsea getting batter Liverpool, can they be as good as they were I mean they were excellent but is it possible to think they're going to do exactly what they did last season I'm not so sure. So I think there are many imponderables here, and as I say, my prediction would be that Chelsea will certainly be higher up whether they win. It is a different argument but I think. In a position now, where you can talk about Chelsea S. potential title winners again, and I think overall because there's more competition amongst the top teams again, just my belief then I think winning points total will be lower. I am so happy you're joining us. You SORTA DO I feel like I feel like you've been second guessing my managerial decisions since I was a wee boy and right soon as you're about to get into something you have to wait we have to check in with Adam, etc. So I feel like I've never actually heard a full thought because I'm either scoring getting scored on or there's an important update in Bristol city that we. Need to get to but sir number one. Thank you for everything. You do thank you for being one of the more brilliant play by play voices of a generation. Thank you for being part of this Bundesliga coverage because great players come from this league. Lots of American players are in this league and that is a selling point. So sir, we just got a great expert from the Bundesliga and I want to pick your brain. About what is being called a generational talent in Kaya Habits now I'm GonNa keep a real with you. Derek Rae. I'd seen habits maybe three times because I'm watching all sorts of soccer. It's a lot as you know. So can you tell me the stuff that the youtube highlight videos can't tell me Derek? What kind of player is Chelsea getting in? Chi. Habits Chelsea are getting a natural footballer getting somebody who you can tell. Just watching him and I was lucky enough to watch his very first matches for by Lieber. Kuzin getting somebody who goes about his business in an effortless way they're going to get somebody who has terrific football brain who knows intuitively wearing needs to be on the pitch and when I think of habits I think if somebody who knows how to wait a pass and it's almost always, it seems about exception a perfect way to pass. Somebody who has got better with time while he's been a Labor Kuzin but he can do the law and he can play really in any position any midfield to attacking position I think he's comfortable and I've seen him play in just about every midfield going on attacking position. So the short answer is might Chelsea getting someone very special indeed. Well, I was actually fascinated because I was eavesdropping. On your conversation before we started recording here with Chris Wittingham and he was Chris's like our soccer nerd or neutral observer that just want the appreciates greatness and he really thoroughly enjoyed picking your brain about this versatility because I've heard that about habits, this is a tremendous goalscorer, but he can also help alleviate some rotational concerns and playing time concerns in the locker room especially with the team like. Chris I leave the forty you because you as such a brilliant question and the answer was even more brilliant. Just kind of wondering all the different places that. Says played because it seems like for the most parties at ten towards the end of the restart period, he was playing as a as a striker false nine but that's not the only places that he can play. No, that's right. Chris I've seen habits play an any number of positions now you're right I think I'm ready as a ten as a playmaking figure somebody who can direct the game from there. But you're right he was used by Beta Boston coach of Labor Kuzin as more of a false nine..

I will say though. If Mexico's dementia. Our. City it. Is. Not necessarily guarantee that they improve just because they're already such a good attacking team but man the. Hype an interest and attention surrounding the primarily in its title race only grows that much more exponential and all of a sudden you're like we already on this podcast look forward to the Chelsea City fixture every year that's just like multiply by one hundred. It's Chelsea versus messy like you only got once every few years in the champions they crazy to think that he can even be entering this league look I know that there's banter for days depending on who lifts the European Cups But The Premier League is aptly named because this is the premier league in all the world, and it's very clearly becoming the destination and I know you can't a marquee name. "Thursday now in the history, the recent history of this matchup you obviously have some one sided affairs that I try to erase from my memory. Men In black style at the hands of Manchester City, but usually this is exactly when you want city riding high. They don't have a lot of pressure on them in their in their fixtures, and they usually dominate and then. Then they come into this fixture with Chelsea Chelsea perhaps a little underwhelming man city, riding high, and that's usually when Chelsea have caught them when you would least expect it. In the recent history of this matchup, I actually liked Chelsea's chances quite a bit especially with guero being out. This is really shaping up to be a hell of a match on Thursday the interesting. Interesting things to me about Man City in their current position in the league table, particularly after the win against Burnley, and the weekend that the teams around them had their basically locked into second second is going to be their fate, and I think they're using the rest of this premier league season to get everyone some games get everyone fit. We'll see what happens, Leroy. Leroy Sonic is. He's linked with a move away, but seems like everyone is going to have a chance to play already. Nineteen players have started, but I think you're really looking at the non primarily competitions of your city. You're looking towards the FA. Cup It's another chance to domestic silverware. Having already won the care, about cup and then the Champions League which of course. Course is the big one for them might be. The last time they play in the Champions League for two years so I think they're trying to ramp up for that tournament. That's going to be coming in August, so I would say. The primarily is probably their third priority in terms of competitions right now so I wouldn't be surprised if it's another squad rotation five. Five six changes trying to keep everyone fit especially with two days in between. Games. You're right. I think this shapes up for Chelsea. Who already I thought played them at the had better than just about anyone has even though they've lost. Wolves have beaten them in the teams have gone to the had one, but I thought the way that Chelsea played there at times. Times with the winning the possession matchup at Manchester City like we know, and we've talked about all the time that Chelsea almost prefer. This is of game, a more open style of game where yes, they're trying to impose with. The other team has possession and trying to attack them and Chelsea can hit on the counter so stylistically and situationally. I think this shape to. To be a really good game on Thursday. Let's turn our attention. What Franklin part does for this match obviously pretty controversial, starting eleven with Ruben Loftus Cheek, starting at left wing. I'd be very surprised if we see that again. Especially considering Christian Pulisic play in that match against Bill. Cannon demands that he'd start, although nothing surprises me. I really anticipate Christian Pulisic starting this..

"Now on the radar Chris and a great club to pick off right I xe, earth, someone who we know are interested in selling and can make deals for affordable prices and Matt. Law The daily. Telegraph reported that Nicholas Fico who is that leftback both for x, and for the Argentinian national team I have to stop you. How much are you loving this segment right now? Showing off. I gotTa take the dog at Dougy Fico. I'm on fire. I'm. Talking about football again. That's how I know I'm back is saying all these names over pronounced, but so according to law. He's available for twenty five million Euro. This is a player. He's played really well for extra in this run, but given his age. It won't command. Such a big prices got two years left on his contract as well. The other thing that I thought was worth noting that sort of in keeping with this is the athletic came out with A. A story that Chelsea have been sanctioned to make to marquee signings right to big money. Signings and Benchellali was reportedly one of Frank Lampard dream targets. He really wants to get Ben Shulan now. It's been reported. That's eighty million pounds. That'll need in order to get a left back. That seems like a lot so I think you're seeing a few more rumors. Surrounding potential backup options whether it's out of state who now is close to move to Paris Man Germain. Fico or whomever that you can have different left-back options as to chill will tell us a great example of why we warn you here on this podcast weekend and week out. Chris, just a small crack I saw I saw like it was reported right, but I couldn't I couldn't track down the original is it was basically that Liverpool it wasn't going to spend the money on Komo verner and this window and maybe team verner would go to Chelsea in. Can Listen. You can aspire to be better. You can help those around you. Be Better. You never know which one of those catch and Chelsea have done really good job in leading understanding the power that they have because look I understand Chelsea has a chequered pass, and they work very hard to make up for that passed and be better today. I understand all of that but. But Chelsea have undeniably been social caused leaders, and they understand the power that they have. We spoke a little bit with Bruce Buck about it. When we went over to London they were that proudly these matter these are very specific issues and causes that Chelsea take. It's not just hey. Let's just throw this money in this collection pot and throw a vague statement in which. which you don't really know, you're calling for unity, which I guess, everyone can get behind unity. "History might remember it for Ruben Loft Cheek, tearing his Achilles on a bad pitch in Boston, it was completely unnecessary in the eyes of many. Still why would do this but I was there and I know exactly why it was necessary and I know how serious this club takes those. Those causes saying not anti-semitism donating I, they raise in excess of seven million dollars and funded several anti anti-semitism programs and programs that would benefit divers believes in that area and I know all that gets lost. The Second Ruben Loftus cheeked hurts his Achilles, but it's a friendly reminder that there are things bigger than this game. And I think they would do it all over again. Maybe not play Ruben Loftus Shiga Ruben. Sheik was going in with some media tackles that they do. But I think in retrospect. The club is very proud of what they did that day, and I've been proud because look, we all know what follows football culture. oftentimes can show the best people, but for too often it shows the worst in people and Chelsea have been leading the way I feel it's easy for me to say. This is a Chelsea podcast, but I think that they've been setting a strong example on social matters like this, and when they release a statement and I promise you, we'll get to the neutral observer an uncomfortable already with how much I am talking, but like I said this one's going to be. An odd one for everybody, so let's get to the same from Chelsea football club and thought once again. This club was leading in this regard because Chelsea football club stands together with George, Floyd, and all the victims in the fight against discrimination, brutality and injustice as a club. We are committed to being part of the solution, and we are joining our voice to all of those calling for fairness equality in meaningful change, enough is enough together. We are stronger obviously. Chris, you've seen all the statements from these clubs and some of them talk around what the issues are. Chelsea came out with the same in very early on and I think the fact that. That they are addressing it by name, words, make you uncomfortable when you read it brutality. They're telling you exactly what the issue is. When you comparison shop club statements, he even here in America. Where everything's happening is one of the stronger statements there is, and it sets a pretty good standard. Bring you in awkwardly now. Neutral Observer, Chris winning an There has been something of a measurement and an examination of the language of a lot of these statements in are they strong enough and I think Chelsea more than pass the muster here because they used the word that I think a lot of activists are yearning to hear and seward brutality and enough. Enough is enough that language that brings about change and you mentioned how kind of awkward is to bring football and soccer into this conversation, but to me would it has underscored is the world reach that this story has had because I think I kind of experienced the world, right what the world is thinking through the football media through footballers and just sort of I'm connected globally through this sport and I think what we've seen. Is that events here? In the United States make meaningful impact across the world, and we've seen so many players in the German Bundesliga in the premier league and on British television, because I've seen some of the clips and that..
