"Not anymore. We, which sucks s Oh, yeah. I just What? It's a beer cost of the Chase Center last night when I took my kids, it was like Tom don't know. Fine. Don't know for like a soda. Yeah, like a $9 Pepsi or $7 Pepsi. I mean, let's put it was actually assume it's bigger. Yeah. You need to keep me awake since I mean, they don't even take regular credit cards here to buy beer is gonna be a platinum. Get him? Yeah, right. Like what you do with your going there like I'm sorry. I don't have a circular driveway. You're not working here. They don't want to hurt you. Well, that is my goal. My goal is to try If I can They get some of these, like, uh, arenas and ballparks. The Giants do is good. A job of it. Is anybody having really good, really good beer? You're a Giants game. You get really good be planning at the Giants game, but they're not easy to find. Want readily available. The problem is most of these, like really good craft. Beer places really can't afford. It doesn't do them that much. Good. So, you know, usually get the big boys, right? The big boys that come in here all the domestics air in here. And then kind of the craft beer. The lot of them trying to pawn off his craft Beer, which is made by the Goose Island. Yes, the big companies through silent nonsense. You don't get the real good stuff. But the Giants do have some, like I know it's not easy to find. But they do have some like that last year as their that local and they had a couple. Others like planning, I think was there that a couple of hours like, Damn, this is like, really, but again. You know, you need to get on Google maps toe to figure out where where it is in the stadium, but it's just, you know, it is what it is. They figure they figure like most people are the game. They don't care because they want a beer. They want to do it the game if that's part of the experience now. They'll get whatever they're there will know they'll get this. They'll get that. And look, I'm not. Oh, you know what I was gonna mention? Yeah. Always look, stop myself like that. Did you see the commercial? Because I was thinking Thursday is gonna be awesome without Davis. First the NFL right now. 30 30 for 30 now has anybody? No, I don't want to go to the store that out anymore. But does anybody run by those cans? The Tom Flores Coors lite cans. All have not the man I gotta get one of those. They're trying to get him into the Hall of Fame, which I go. That is bad ass like a Coors Light logo. Well done. That's like that. They got like a picture are drawing of Tom Ford's from the Coors Light Can. I was like, that is awesome. That is so cool. They've got to know that he's already in or else they wouldn't do this right. That's a great question. I don't know. I don't know. We got to know there's because there's no way they're doing this and then they're like, damn like we we couldn't get him in the Hall of Fame, and we did a really cool ad campaign champ gets in those cans. They consume those cans like The poor kids like with the you know the 2019 World Championship 2018 words. Championship teacher. Four Kids four. That's okay. Take all this. Take the wolf. Hey, Enjoy your Coors Light. Your war is championship. Do you think there's a generation of kids and sub Saharan Africa that take the buffalo bills or one of the greatest football team? They're like this dynasty. However, However, those Children are sober at this hours. It's good for you, like I don't think this is quite the same. Maybe so become the Super Bowl champion. Bills hat here with Tom. Floors out of you Don't know that I'd love a Coors light a bitch. This course. Like it looks hot out there. I would love it over there. Yeah. May look Sally Struthers consume provides. Make sure they don't drink too much. She's still with us. She's not only I don't think I was pretty messed that up s o a couple questions. Tow. First off Coach floors is the best just one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. And hilarious, too. But so if we buy these time floors, Coors Light scans well, that helped get him in the Hall of Fame. And that's coach florist like does he turn blue when when the can is has reached a certain temperature, nice like when, when the mountains will turn blue. Remember that? That's right. But you know, it's drinkable..
Warriors' plan aims to allow 50% fan capacity
"Ramona. How are you? God are you guys doing and we're hanging in there. So tell us about this. This operation Dub nation that the Joe Lake up is trying to pull off here so funny that it's called that right like it's like the Manhattan Project, right? Uh, you know, it's literally is every morning every Monday morning at 9 A.m.. They have this passport. That operation Dub Nation and been doing this for eight months on guy. Think what I think What is so interesting about this one is First of all, you know, we should We should We're you know, we should point out to everyone that The state of health. Weight is not allow anything like this right now. So this is a plan that has been submitted to the city and the county in California. I think the Warriors have already done a lot of work in terms of Explaining the science and proving the science to the public health officials and to the politicians were going to make the final call on this. It's not great timing. If you think about it right now we just have a press conference from the mayor's office where they were like Yeah, we're gonna have to start rolling things that we've seen the incidence of coronavirus spike this week. I think next week we're going to see even more roll back. This is what's happening across the country that is somewhat inevitable. We talking about the colder weather people being indoors more. Um, but, you know, I think you just kind of have to understand the math here right? And what the actual game changing part of this planet, which is We're talking about this is this is the part that I actually think is the most important when we're talking about, Okay, we have to close indoor guiding, or we have to close occupancy in a gym. Or we have to limit activity and indoor spaces like the movies here for. I don't know who's going to movie theaters right now, But okay. Not me. Sorry. Those types of rollbacks for seeing that is based off of The what's called the incidents of like a new cases per 100,000. Okay, right now in the bay Area that 9.9 per day. Okay, um, that that's 9.9 cases. Per 100,000. It's growing. But that's also based on this idea that you don't know amongst the people who are coming into your indoor restaurants or indoor gym or indoor space. How many of them are positive because you're not doing any testing. But if you're doing testing You have a different you have a different knowledge about who's actually in your space, right? If you test everyone who walks through that door, you're only vulnerability is the accuracy and sensitivity of the test. Correct. You understand everybody. Obviously we're well aware of that. Yes. Okay. Now the accuracy and sensitivity is a really big deal because most of the rapid tests that you see them like the infamous White House Rose Garden Super spreader event, which we have You know what you have. People continue to test positive for and then again on election night. They're using a rapid test that is in an urgent that based test Now people lies start to glaze over when you start to explain the difference here, But I'll just Do it in terms of the antigens that based test It couldn't have between 30 and 50% of infected people. It's not that accurate, okay, it'll generally effective, you know, but it's not. It's like it's better than nothing. And it definitely has some uses if you're using it. Let's say at school or or in a college where you're testing the same people every single day. So every single time you test somebody that gives a better chance. You're gonna catch it right, especially Because people generally don't become infectious with Cove it and tell day three or day four of infection. So let's say you were you caught it. It didn't catch you on day one. It didn't catch one day to It didn't catch you on day three because the energon test doesn't catch it before Day four, Okay? But my day 56 or seven it should catch you one of those days of your testing every day. The PCR based test which the Warriors are talking about, that's a rapid test. It's 15 minutes. Shallow nasal swab. I think that's important for people to understand Shallow like booger level, Okay, Like, like, you know. Yeah, I think about touching very descriptive brain booger level. Okay, levels go down. Bacon burger level, Okay, And this test is 99% accurate. There's only three companies who have earned emergency FDA authorization to make these tests. Okay, One of them's in the Bay Area of Bisbee. Started by a Stanford grad. Let's claim that some Stan forgot myself, then the other tours to the palace for yet they're the one called Q Health and Mesa by a text. They just started making these things this summer and this fall, so that's how like when you see Saturday Night live, that's what senator lives is using. They're using that kind of testing. Plus, they're wearing masks. Those tests generally caused 152 $100 a test. Okay like that very expensive to do on a large scale. You could do it at small venues and like I was reading it three. You're really interesting. New York Times story about this. And, uh, it was August when the first started to get get approved. They were calling that this is this is the new velvet ropes. Rapid PCR test of the new velvet rope like if you wanna have a gathering, If you want to have an event, you've seen this like in small parties. Small gathering. And even when you do those rapid PCR test, you should still wear a mask. Some people some places hasn't like they had a doctor featured in that New York Times story. I saw Charging $500 a test for partygoers at the hands of in the Hamptons. Okay, This is what the Warriors are talking about doing on a scale where 50% capacity at Chase Center.
Warriors' plan aims to allow 50% fan capacity
"Year. We should have something to cheer about. But now, of course No fans or will there be? Or in the ESPN. Ramona Shelburne. Warriors have a plan a very expensive plan. Get 50% capacity at Chase Center this year. If you might be saying deter, how the hell are they going to do that? And I asked the same question. And I'm still pretty skeptical that they can pull this off because as of yesterday or maybe even the day before that, I believe they just rolled back. Lot of openings that we were doing here in the city of San Francisco. Situation is not getting better. Getting worse. We're not going to get into the nitty gritty of that. Because that is something I'm not fully qualified to do, Nor probably are you unless you are. George Rutherford, Dr Jordan Rutherford Police feel free to call in Anyway, KNBR. Warriors want to get 50% capacity. At Chez Center. And here's How Joe Lake up who, by the way Bio tech billionaire public health. Degree from U C. L A nose a little bit about. This has a little bit of expertise in this area. I wouldn't say he's epidemiologists or anything like that. I wouldn't put him in charge of the Coronavirus task force. Or anything like that, but certainly more qualified than myself. To figure out how to get 50% capacity. At Chase Center. Now bear with me hear it does get a little In the weeds. But when we're talking about this, we need to be specific about what the hell's going on. This information is important, even if it is a little dense. I'll do my best here but bear with me. The plan is Lakers going to spend $30 million Which you might say That's chump change. That's an Andrew Wiggins. The test every fan employees and player Media to be determined. I would imagine that he's not going to spend the money on us Can't really blame him. Of course, you will have masks and you will have distancing. But the plan is they're going to use a rapid PCR test. So the PCR test that's the deep one right where they get real up in the nose. Those were supposed to be about 99% accurate Now, Joe Lake Up, says he's gotta read. He's got a He's got a guy. He's got a plug. You can get him rapid PCR tests. That means 20 minutes or so you could get an answer, as opposed to what we saw with Major League baseball, where it's 24 hours later, which worked out great at the end of the World Series. I mean bang up job. Think about the amount of times that baseball had a problem this year because of the delay. We're going from 24 hours to 20 minutes. And you might go. We already have rapid testing like that, Peter, we do. There. Auntie Gin tests. Now this is this is the difference. The PCR is the 99% 1. So that's finding any kind of the virus. In your nose. Going up in there finding some of the virus. And then through technology being able to figure out, you know. If you have it or not, If you can't find it after the amplifying, amplifying, amplifying, amplify you don't have it. You got a little bit it. The anti Jin tests are different. They're looking for something that is bound. To the virus. Basically, you have to be shedding the virus in order for the anti Jin test to succeed. Now, those tests are very fast. Take like 10 15 minutes, right? You could get a result. If you're shedding the virus, you probably are showing some symptoms. And so it's estimated. But there is a 30 to 50% miss rate. With these rapid auntie gin tests. Which at a certain point you're like, Why are we bothering with him? Why are we spending all this money? The PCR is the way to go to believe to be 99% accurate. If we could have a situation where the PCR test He's going as fast as the anti gene tests. I don't know about you. But 99% is a lot better than 50% or even 70% on its best day. The Joe Lake up once rapid PCR tests for every fan player and employees. On day of game. Now. I don't know what it's not like You could put everybody in a room in test. Um, just sit around. Mean Chase Center has a great filtration from everything I heard. I heard that well before you know, we really cared about filtration because that was something I cared about him. Big fan, big fan of ventilation. I think they can change out. The air and Chase Center four times an hour like change out the entirety of the air, which seems like a pretty good thing to do. You could also have nothing but outside air coming in. Really let it flow. And I say that would be a good plan. But these rapid PCR tests are the difference. And then George Rutherford. The After mentioned George Rutherford public health expert saying This is as close to a perfect plan as I've seen

"I really do. The longer we go without fans in the stands. In any meaningful capacity. The more you realize how important they are. That is a big part of what makes sports great watching last year states 40 Niners game is the game. I was lucky enough to be at In that press box at the Superdome. It is open air. I mean, of course, it's in a dome. And actually, it's colder that press box then perhaps anywhere on the planet, because you're sitting right underneath the air conditioner that's feeding for the entire stadium. That game was so much fun. The energy in that place was off the charts. And I don't know when we're going to get that back. I don't I don't know if it ever comes back. Totally honest. I'm optimistic that it will. Perhaps sooner than most expected will It's gonna take a lot of work. It really is. And that is one of the norms. That I want back ASAP. There's some stuff that listen, we're probably better off for it changing Just a byproduct of the new world and we'll be better off. A lot of stuff. I need to go back to the way it was. I tried. I tried to look forward. I tried to say what's next. I tried to adapt, but some stuff has to go back to the way it was. One of those things is fans in the stands and Listen, The Warriors are as electrifying as any team in professional sports when they're on and we expect them to be on. This upcoming season. Step is back. Clay is back to Raymond's there. Andrew Wiggins is gonna have to be something. Or maybe Andrew Wiggins isn't on this team, and we'll talk about that in just a little bit. His new draft pick, Maybe Maybe not so much. We'll find out Lot of free agent signings. See Not with the Corps three Back in play. The Warriors should be funny as hell. Right. That should be their baseline. It might not be good. It might not be good. I think we do need to hold out. The possibility that they might not be good. But they should be fun. And damn it. We need some fun. We never got that Chase center, an oracle like experience. Now I am personally one That believes that it will never really come close that Oracle was a perfect basketball venue, and it was a perfect basketball venue because of its shortcomings. Because it was kind of a dump. We can be honest had a concrete roof. Came down. They kept it very clean. That's about the nicest thing I can say about Oracle ar e amenities. It's not Chase Center Chase Center is a palace. But you don't wanna get rowdy in the palace. You know you don't wanna hold the house party at the palace. You wanna hold the house party at a place that you're willing to tear up a little bit. And Oracle was certainly that and the acoustics at Oracle Terrible for concerts. I've been to concentrate Oracle. You can't hear a damn thing. I mean, the reverberations horrendous. So I hear Chase Center is perfect in that regard that is a nice upgrade for the Bay Area. For basketball. I wanted noisy. I want those reverberations. We never got anywhere close to Oracle Arena sound at Chase and last year, there's nothing to cheer about. This year. We should have something to cheer about. But now, of course No fans or will there be? Or in the ESPN. Ramona Shelburne. Warriors have a plan a very expensive plan. "Several elections, including this one. Thanks, Mark you bad Thank you. ABC is Jim Ryan closely followed the Biden campaign This week. I talked to him from Wilmington, Delaware, fighting headquarters about the confidence that the campaign had had a CZ. They hoped that that blue Wall was coming together here in Wilmington, Delaware. This, of course, is he adopted hometown of Joe Biden. He's been essentially in his house, You know, Tony neighborhood just on the Edge of town that the campaign is centered here at Chase Center on the riverfront. The river is the Christina River, which runs through here, eventually connect out to the Delaware River and then into the Atlantic Ocean. This Chase center. The parking lot was set up as a big drive in Pollwatch party. On Tuesday. The cars came in. They were directed to park. It looked very much like the drive in movie Cherokee. And so people came in. Joe Biden came out with Kamala Harris the he said, Everybody just stay calm. Everyone remain patient. The votes were still being counted. Then obviously they were for a couple more days. Parking lot still was set up like that. A giant American flag hanging on from a couple of cranes on the edge of this parking lot. Sherry, you come from the state of Texas when you were sitting there watching the returns Come in. On Election night. A lot of people thought that Texas might flip might turn blue Azua, longtime Texan Did you think that would happen? Well, you know, having watched that unfolding there in Texas for the last several months. And seeing the money that was coming in from Democrats around the country and then watching those early returns. It almost felt like that might happen, and it's a jaw dropper. If you look at that state They haven't voted a statewide race for a Democrat. Since about 1996. They haven't supported a Democratic presidential candidate since Jimmy Carter. And so I mean, that would be a stunning moment. If all of a sudden Texas were to have gone blew it held on the Trump campaign did its work down there, though it was close, and it was. I think it was a bit of a shocker again to both sides to see that happening there, Jim, Were you surprised by anything? This election? Was there anything that sort of threw you for a loop that you weren't expecting? I think the rhetoric you know, it's it's just tough and being at rallies for either candidate. Tio here, the people and of course, people at rallies are the diehards of the diehards. Want right there The most striking report our supporters with these two candidates. They're the ones who come from across the country just to get a glimpse. Of the candidates and the feeling that they have is so deep so strong. There's not just to sense that You know you'd be most elections, you think? OK, look, I mean, our guy may or may not win, the country will go on. But I think that on both of them those people at rallies they feel that if the other candidates were to win I wonder how the future of American light look. Yeah, that's whoever does win. I's gonna have a really job ahead of them when it comes to uniting this country, especially in places like Texas and Florida and Ohio and Pennsylvania, where you know, vote counts were kind of close. Guys. It's a deep, deep divisions. It's like a wound. It's not so much just a division. It's It's a slice right down the middle of the country. And somehow somebody's got to come in and try.

"Going to be be saying tonight. News has received a tweet tweeted video of a phone call that the vice President elect Kamala Harris has put out a phone call talking with the president elect Joe Biden. Let's play a little of that right now. Ah, we don't have that video. My mistake. I'm sorry, but we are. We are indeed working on it. We have people who are up at. I guess you could call it Biden headquarters at the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware. And they're telling us and sending pictures that they could hear people cheering and car horns honking from people. Or outside the secured perimeter as they celebrate the news that has just come out within the past hour that Joe Biden has been projected as the winner of the 2020 election. There are people according to these reports coming from Fox News lined up along the security fence, which is lined with balloons on and obviously that is Ah place right now, that is feeling a lot of joy. But there is not joy all over the world. The news that Joe Biden has been elected, the 46 president isn't going to go well over with Trump supporters. Just like four years ago. The news that President Trump won didn't go well over with Hillary Clinton supporters. And so for that, Let me go back to Jared Halprin, who covers Congress for Fox News radio. What is your sense just from the people that are strong supporters off President Trump in Congress that Matt Gates is of the world in the House of Representatives? What is their reaction at what point Do they sort of flip a switch and prepare for a Democrat? Ah, leading America and serving as America's 46 president. Well, you know, oftentimes you sort of take your cues from leadership in the party. Right? So you know, I do Think, Listen. There are going to be legal challenges. We've talked about that They're going to be recounts. We have talked about that. I do believe that there is an appetite. Amongst most Republicans in Congress to elect that process, play out how long that process plays out. We'll see. Is it days is it weeks, But once that process has played out if it resolves itself Without any change in the outcome of this election. Then the question becomes, you know who do you take your cues from? Does it become an issue of you know we can fight this on the president's behalf here in Congress? I think the president the President Trump will probably Help guide that that reaction is well, but certainly we have seen statements over the last couple of days from from leading Republicans Mitch McConnell and others who have said You know, Let's make sure that the vote was accurate. Let's make sure that the vote was legal. Let's make sure that the vote was was fair and transparent. And then let's respect the results on DH, so we'll see again. How long I think some of these These legal battles play out and how long some of these recount processes take out. That will probably be the better gates stand about how how Republicans may respond because I think right now there really is an appetite. To let that process play out. The Trump campaign wants it to play out. The president wants it to play out, and there is time to let that process play out way saw that How long you sort of have in that process? Just 20 years ago really wasn't that long ago and a lot of Republicans and Democrats as well? But we're in Congress when that process plate out. Judge Dear is the deputy White House press secretary, and he was asked just a few minutes ago by Fox News If the president plans to call Joe Biden and his reply is no scheduling updates, and just to give you an idea. There were no public appearances planned by President Trump at any time on this schedule, either. Today or tomorrow that has not changed. We'll see if that changes over the course of the next AA few hours or so. But right now, no planned appearances by President Trump. Let me go back to Josh crash our in terms of Ah, phone call that the victor receives from the person who was vanquished. I guess you could say in this election. Help necessary. How common is that in terms of presidential elections is that typical? Do we typically see that the loser either calling the winner or the winner calling the loser? When you have a race that that's this decisive, Yeah, usually will see concession speech from the losing candidate. Now we all remember 2000 when the race was very close in the state of Florida, and there were legal issues and certainly the president president is claiming he has lawsuits that he's going to be filing and he has not conceded specifically put out a statement saying he's not conceding the race. So you know I I I with Trump. You never know what you're going to get. I If you do, it's going to be, you know, it's probably not going to be conciliatory response from the president, but you know he doesn't have a whole lot of legal options. It doesn't seem like there any credible lawsuits that will market that will change the trajectory of the results and then the reality of the results. So I mean, you know, I think he's either going to have to, you know, make a statement and show showing some grace. Or, you know, the reality will just speak for itself. Just we'll do something different than other other losing presidential candidates. So we know that there are legal efforts Josh that are a CZ Faras. We know ongoing In a number of states, there's an effort to have recounts in another and a number of states. Can the campaign can the president just essentially say, call off the dogs? It's over, not pursuing it. Or do you anticipate that despite what We're seeing from Fox News. The projection in terms of the winner of the 2020 election, other networks projecting the same thing. The president's message will be, you know, full steam ahead. We are proceeding with all of our efforts because In the president's words, he believes this election was somehow rife with fraud. We'll fax don't care about your feelings in politics, and this is not a particularly close race. In fact, you know, if all the votes and up where it thinks you know what things look like the map is going to remain where it is right now. Joe Biden will have the exact same number of electoral votes 306 when all is said and done if he wins Arizona, and he wins the state of Nevada as we just called it, Fox..

"Trump will spend his night at the White House. Late today. The Postal Service said that it missed a federal judge's late afternoon deadline to check for delayed ballots in at least a dozen states. The agency said it is still working to comply with the court order. Daniel Meade's joins me now from outside the White House, where the president will be watching the results. So you miss what are the people around the president telling you about what tonight looks like? Well, as you said, Election day is finally here, and the mood inside the White House in outside the White House is one of high anxiety with people on edge. President Trump says he feels confident in states like Florida. North Carolina, Pennsylvania. People close to the president tell me he's been telling people around him that he feels like he has an easier path. The victory this time around it in 2016 where, of course, then he was running as a political outsider who had never held office. You can already hear, though people gathering both inside the White House and outside the White House, there are protesters gathered outside the White House. It's Phil of fences, extra fencing that they put in anticipation of any sort of physical confrontations. The president is expected to speak before a crowd tonight gathered in the East Room of some 400 people. Many of them will be senior White House officials as well as donors. I can also tell you, Judy that the Corona virus is top of mind for people here and people close to the president. Someone talked to me today. That's close to the president's been speaking to him, saying that if the president loses tonight, it's because he did not listen to campaign aides who urged him to talk about the Corona virus as being in a more dire situation and really spreading information. In a way that would be clear. I talking about social distancing But the president leans in on his political instincts and was optimistic a time spreading misinformation. People say if he wins, it proves once again that this political outsider knew more than the Republicans around him. Alright, Misha, you'll be talking to them staying at the White House throughout the evening. Thank you. And now we move to Wilmington, Delaware, where the news hours John Yang is on location. With Vice President Biden's campaign. So, John, what are they saying to you about how things look? They feel Judy that they have done everything they can. They say they have left everything on the field. They feel that they are in a good position as good a position as they can hope for. They point to the early vote turnout in a number of key battleground states. Oh, and also the number of the low number the low percentage of mail in ballots that have been rejected in those battleground states. Technical details now looks like I'm in the middle of an empty parking lot here in Wilmington, where the Chase Center, which is on exhibition, all where the campaign has set up shop. They're hoping this parking lot is eventually filled with cars of supporters Now. This also shows the difference of the approach to the Corona virus between the president and The Biden campaign. The supporters here will be in their cars. They're hoping to urge them to stay in their cars to hear the Ah possible statement from the vice president. Hey is was asked earlier this afternoon or by reporters. If he would speak tonight, He said he would have something to say if there was something to say something about. If not, he said he would wait until all the votes are counted. Whatever that is now, the campaign officials have also said that something to talk about make could be Fact checking the president if the president were to say something. What the Biden campaign thinks would be prematurely that the vice president may come out to try to. Ah, combat what they called the disinformation coming from the White House. Biden himself isn't home right now. Watching the returns with his family were told to expect him to be joined later tonight by his running mate, Kamala Harris and her husband, Judy. All right. A lot of moving parts there. John Yang in Wilmington for us tonight. Meanwhile, to help us put in context, what's happening tonight on in a vase and Lisa Desjardin will be reporting on some critical Data points. They're right here in the studio with me. So I'm gonna tell us the kinds of things you two are going to be looking at Judy. There's so much to cover tonight, a lot of exciting races and to do that we're gonna be using this big board right here. Let's take a look at some of the key battleground states were going to be tracking just a couple of about around states today just view and they're gonna be drilling down deeper into thesis. You help. You better understand why the races unfolding the way that it is, But, Lisa, you've gone a step further. You have drilled down into key counties we should look at. Is that right? Yeah, We call this the nerd segment of the night basically on the and we want to look at counties that we think tell us something about what's happening. The country the first one, this one. I want to point out to watch an early results we could get from North Carolina. This is Robinson County in North Carolina. It's down on the South Carolina border. This is one of those pivot counties had voted for Barack Obama twice and then voted for Donald Trump. It's interesting, too, because this is a majority minority County. Look at the numbers here. This county has 42% native American 24% black. That is largely because of the Lum Beatrice that lives there. President Trump visited this county just in the last week. It also has a large uninsured population on that they actually had some problems. Big employer there hospital there has had to close down facilities recently, so we'll see how that affects things. I just want to point to one race to watch here just won this one. Virginia five. This runs down the middle of Virginia just to the west of Richmond. Bob Good is the Republican. He defeated the incumbent Republican freshmen Denver Riggleman in a convention. He's up against Cameron Web a doctor from Charlottesville If Democrats can win this race They will be having a very good night. That is one of the key house races you're tracking. We're also tracking the key Senate races across the country duty as you mentioned 35 Senate seats up for reelection tonight so much to be looking at, and we're glad to have both of you here. Thank you so much. And now we turn to the most senior Democrat in the federal government. She is the speaker of the U. S. House of Representatives. Nancy Pelosi, and she joins us from Washington. Madam Speaker. Thank you so much for talking with us on Election night. We're hearing reports about good turnout. Across the country. We were told that would be good news for President Trump because most of his vote was going to turn out today. What are you hearing?.

"Traditional balloon drop, replaced with fireworks that Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware. Next week, the focus will shift to President Trump and the Republicans tonight. Some of the key moments would shape this final night of the convention, including the speech by former vice president by now the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee. In just a moment, we'll be joined again with former Republican Congressman Tom Davis, the Virginia in Love or Barnes care of the Michigan Democratic Party. But first we want to turn once again to Emily Larson has been covering all of this for the Washington Examiner. She's in Arlington, Virginia tonight. And Emily. I'm curious. What's the first line in your story tonight on the convention and on Joe Biden speech? Well, I think the first thing that comes to mind for me is Joe Biden nailed it. This was a very important speech for him. Considering that he has been running for president, essentially for 33 years since 1987 and it was very important for him, especially as the Trump campaign is trying to portray him as being someone who's incarnated. Klein. Somebody who a lot of people's verbal stumbles and wonder if he's really up to the task of the oldest presidential nominee that we've had that he really needed to step up and show that he really has what it takes. And I think he did that. They're also it was very interesting in this Corona virus era. The lack of the live audience has maybe been a detriment to some speakers who would do better with some applause lines and a big crowd. Come on. But for the Biden campaign, this is very interesting because he had more of a tone of of having more of an Oval Office types speech, speaking directly to the camera, not waiting for big applause lines and really hammered home the urgency of the moment and contrasting with the more erratic style of President Trump. And that's something that the Biden campaign was very much going for, and ended up turning out very well for him. Alan criticisms. We've heard about this convention. A lot of rhetoric, a lot of anti trump language, but not a lot of substance. Did we get that tonight from Joe Biden? Sure. You know, he didn't go into policy. I even tossed some thoughts that this was sounded a little bit like a state of the union speech sort of rattling off policies. He talked about a national mask mandate somehow make sure that everybody is wearing masks in public rather than leaving that up to The states. He talked about some other especially Corona virus policies. But this was very much a convention about the emotional aspect of voting and whether you like President Trump or not, and whether you like show Biden or not in 2016. Hillary Clinton had the disadvantage of not being liked by a lot of voters. Neither was Donald Trump. And that made this that means that election more of a choice between who do you like better Would you like? Who Who's Who's at least bad option voters generally, like Joe Biden, a lot betters and President Trump. And so this convention was very much about defining him even further in voter's minds as somebody who you would like to be around, in contrast to the president, initially, as you know this convention slated for mid July in Milwaukee now back to that conventions because of covert 19 Next week in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the president here in Washington, D. C. Is the Republicans gather move ahead to what we can expect next week, and you suspect that the Republicans will tweak anything based on what they saw this week. Sure, we don't have a lot of details about what the Republicans are planning for next week. We have we have a few speakers that have been announced. President Trump is slated to give his acceptance speech on Thursday. I believe from the White House. Which has caused some criticism about whether there are ethics issues there. But essentially, this is there's going to have to follow this convention that has already set expectations about what a presidential our Democratic National Convention looks like in the Corona virus era, and it will be interesting to see whether the Republicans after first Trying to still have it in person convention in Charlotte and then in Jacksonville, then canceling Jacksonville and now putting this together without having a lot of details available, whether they will be able to have the same type of production values and have it run as smoothly as the Democrats did, and the Republicans gathering Monday morning, we'll have live coverage on C spent getting at nine o'clock Monday morning and in the evening session which will get underway at 8 30 evening, 8:30 P.m. eastern time. Have you seen any numbers in terms of the ratings this week? Do you expect to see a bump for the Democrats out of this convention? Will the television viewership ratings are down compared Tio their convention in 2016? That could be a combination of a lot of things, not only the type of slave speakers there are maybe people are not as interested or it could also be just the fate of television. General Pierre people watching. I'm time television and getting their news in other ways. Still, that's something that I think the Republicans are also going to be very focused on is getting their message out through multiple avenues, not just relying on television to get that, but streaming it having the president tweet about it. Having other people who have really belt robust social media, followings and personalities on DH interact with a lot of their hardcore based that way, making sure that it gets out through those avenues. And so, your headline tonight for the Washington Examiner. If you're writing the headline, Emily Larson. What is it? Joe Biden accept nomination 33 years after he set out to become president, Political reporter for the Washington Examiner joining us the last couple of nights. Thanks very much for being with us. I know you're heading to Charlotte to cover the convention. We appreciate your time here on C Span. Thank you. In just a moment. Lavoro Barnes. He's the chair of the Michigan Democratic Party and former Republican Congressman Tom Davis, who headed up the Republican Congressional Campaign Committee. But first the official moment In which Joe Biden becomes the nominee. The current president's cloak American darkness for much too long, Too much anger. Too much fear. Too much Division here and now I give you my word. If you entrust me with the presidency, I will draw on the best of us. Not the worst. I'll be an ally of the light, not the darkness. It's time for us for we, the people to come together.

Warriors to face Nets in empty Chase Center
"Is great all right so here's the thing that the warriors issued this statement and they are saying that they're gonna play the game tomorrow night against the Brooklyn nets without fans in attendance he so for them to come out and say that there there's a conference call going on or right now the Joe lake Epizyme and all the owners know leaguer governors of their franchise around and I think there is a what were if you're a basketball fan you want to see the games played then what you're hoping is that what the warriors just announced will be reality where the games will be played in you just won't be able to attend but you'll be able to watch on TV I'm not sure that is definitive where Adam silver and the owners could decide to just shut down the league but I think that the question we asked Elliott is about the droplets in the perspiration and can the players transmit to other players and he said it has to get into the office so how realistic is that you know if you spit out some honor just spray something from your mouth third you know is it just the the droplets are enough that it has to get into your lungs as well she may not be your risk coming in a close proximity to someone you're not gonna guard NBA player gives six to eight feet of room obviously you're gonna get up tied into his body but I was concerned about just I mean the whole point of this is to stop the spread of it and I'm sure other players in the NBA that we don't know they have not been tested that jester strong Inverell not showing any effects but R. I. Kerrier for it I mean that that is reasonable to assume at a very high level so I think that's what they have to look at and get guidance from health experts but just for the warriors to issue this statement you would venture to guess that Joe was involved with the conference call it must be trending in the direction of what we're not get is good to suspend operations that we're gonna play games without fans and the warriors are obviously what will it one of the first one in light of the fact that as San Francisco is not allow anybody more than a thousand people so that's positive but I also think we it's a fluid situation in their reports coming in a press release is being made in statements around the hour and just constantly since we started how many have we received in the last maybe seven minutes that it there's a possibility the game will be played at all but I think it is a positive that the warriors are on their own stationary issued this statement from Lisa good one saying that the game will be played so that that must be I can't what's going on with this conference call with all the owners and we'll find out what's going to happen but it sounds like they're gonna play the game of the phantom aren't at

"Commodity among the player and they've really created a dynamic lune lune by putting the oracle centre court from their two thousand fifteen championship in the senate floor the locker room that has what is now as winning meaning predecessor so building hall object contains energy of history and that's now as predecessor g and it can be good or bad. The victory of this federal court can really help invigorate energy in the spirit of the team and actually propelled them to more n._b._a. Title the the locker room to me felt like a sacred space. The other important thing about the locker room is that also located in areas of the stadium that has <hes> the cheap power spot of wisdom and good judgment there are certain energies and the space eighth that affects him aspect of life because the career hell finances romance and these are what i call power spots so being in an area that really ford five just before the game can lead to some really smart move and while excuse to play so i do have <hes> foege very the kid to steph clay and dream on <hes> in terms of their locker room. I would advise if it take a locker that is furthest furthest away from the entry not directly in front of it which has optimum. She puts them in the functionary politician and that gives here's and dominance a clear head and more precision in their playing ability. I believe dream on selected acted locker. You mean cheese but i believe you so into the locker which is right next to the entrance well you yes i strongly suggest the dream on reconsider and another locker that is further away from entry which will put him an want <hes> powerful and dominating position in terms of clay and as well as finding more stamina and his play too yeah so you can see she liked the locker room and then <hes> then we moved over to the visitor's locker room which which isn't bad you know in the old days read our back <hes> at the old boston garden forced visitors to be in this little cramped tiny room and he would be cold water only showers or air-conditioning so he tried to make it miserable israel possible and so the words have not done that. It's very nice locker room. It's not as big as their own and it's square rectangular and it's not special at all like there's is it. It doesn't have all the main unbelievable glass covering and would roofing all that stuff but when when deborah walked in the locker locker room here's what and visitor's locker here's what she had to say. I really feel that gave a competitive advantage where they designed visiting team park on because as you enter you immediately <hes> confront a wall and then you then you make a sharp right turn and then immediate left her before even entering the into the locker room and all these sharp angles and turns will agitate an imbalance online bodies of visiting players hell they did a great thing there so you can see that deborah thought that the where's actually did a good job of designing a locker room that would not promote favorable the chief for the visitors so that's a good thing right if you're if you're a warriors fan bad. She can be a good thing right for as long as it's contained to that to that locker room yeah it. It's funny 'cause rick. We we can ask rick about a d. Did you do this on purpose and he said no. You know there's only so much many money to spend and we use dollar budget on circular elements in the home locker room so we didn't have any left over for the visitors so he was nice about it but it's a it without knowing that they designed and <hes> locker room which would not promote great chief for the visitors. Did you look at the media areas. Are we gonna have good she. We didn't tour we did not tour the meteoric very so time that's my biggest concern. What about stuff like the clubs and <hes> you know the interior of the things that fans will or or you know we already have some champagne bunkers like those those sweets underneath the <hes> the seats the courtside seats or any of the other sweets. Did you tore those. We did not tour those we spent so much time on the exterior and locker rooms and stuff like that. We didn't get to those figure that people can afford those can they can make it by bringing their own cheese yeah by radio they can. They can afford all the good she that they can get right yeah. Although it'd be interesting scene because as she pointed out levi's that the sun factor would chase people out of the arena right out of the stadium. Which does it forces the rich people and she. She said it would at levi. She said it will especially affect the people in the lower seats the nicer seats and it does when you go on holiday this the sparsest <music> area of seating is the richest seats because people have places to go right so there's no sun inside levi's an inside oracle rather chase chase we have to soon no son chase but but it'll be interesting to see if all that wealth will sort of drain away the fund fandom right but she had no way of telling that so the basic eight deborah was very positive but she did say that there are a couple of elements one was that entry lobby with the poison arrows <hes> and one was the traffic that could be those are those are two areas that could be problematical medical and could be fixed. Maybe somewhat right well. That's great to know we will look out for the poison angular eros and and the <hes> i think we all know enough to look out for the bad she of traffic in the bay area <hes> as long as you and i can get in there and find a place to park. I think we'll bring our own poison arrows with their pin exactly all right well. Thanks for joining us for another edition of warriors off court art <hes> our special funk hsi-wei edition. Yeah sure we'll find a way to live. Yeah serbia's talking real big coaching. Say look good yeah yeah i mean does it didn't work out in the n._b._a. He's a phenomenal on a passenger yeah and the you know the big failure kitchen <hes> couple of other guys. They've all been playing together since they were five for all the they. They just do this this this this is bruce. I'm glad you brought up the world cup because i've seen a lotta clips of steve kerr acting as an assistant coach gregg popovich on the world cup team for u._s._a. <hes> and to me just from watching clips it looks like he's happy and healthy and and that has often been the case these recent summers <hes> just just wondering when you when you see him joking around about catching up with andrew bogut when they played australia and draymond green and even kevin durant coming into vegas hugging on steve kerr seems to be having a good time yeah i mean nobody's more aware of steve's health problems in popovich he would not have invited him to do this to spend all his time when he should be laying on his couch and watching football or whatever and yeah it's <hes> it does seem like he's turned major corner in that. Finally you know i mean and <hes> there's so much anxiety c._n._n. Bob myers lake of talking about him and <hes> and and popovich anybody who's close to current so concern at this thing. It's just not gonna. It seems like there's an awful lot of evidence that he's feeling really good and it's interesting to me. Also i mean you know current. Property are pretty proud guys and they've done little but but win they win. They win all the time and they're going to want to win. This is it gets in into the thing and there's a little bit of crushes or to. They're gonna they're gonna feel a little pressure to win this thing yeah. That's the trae. What what are you again. We're a month away from from camp even opening <hes> but what do you think of of the job that steve kerr has to do this year with the warriors he when he came in he already he always gives credit to mark jackson and that staff for starting the defense and they have and he comes eat says hey i had good players that made my job easy <hes> now he goes into a season where you have the unknown of diangelo russel <hes> you don't know wing. Klay thompson is coming back. You do know that kevin durant gone on your automatic score. Could this be a the most difficult season. That kerr has had to face on the court. We know what he's had to face. Healthwise off the court but uh-huh i think about the situation on the court by far i mean <hes> you know the the through all the splash brothers phenomenon changing the league three pointer greats. It's uptempo. They've always had elite defense when it mattered. Maybe the best certainly one of the best maybe not all year with the metrics but when it counted forget about it and you know durant could be a phenomenal stopper when he wanted to clay we all know about klay. Ebola comes in and takes over guards hardened guards lebron. You know i mean i mean these are huge things. They're going to miss. I don't see anybody <hes> among all these newcomers. Who who has you know that kind of reputation. They say they're pascall's would like dream on that's encouraging. I think really cauley stein if he's properly motivated could do rim protection but just basically you know coming down to a really really tight game against the clippers or hard and westbrook or whatever you know draymond can't do it by himself and <hes> that's that's a heck of a challenge to get that defensive mentality which is that was marked jackson's calling card and not sure jackson could get <hes> the kind of mentality out of these guys that he got from from that group so big deal there yeah <hes> and and one of the keys to all of this defensive success has been the point of attack has been them switching klay thompson onto opposing point guards and allows steph curry to play the off the ball and and that kind of started everything so now for at least half the year you don't have klay thompson and you're looking at steph curry indiana russell being the defense at the point of attack yeah. That's that's a that's a tough task for adams to design it. Yeah yeah ron adams yeah exactly. He's he figures into this but it's interesting for i mean i mean two two things happened. One that the angela just clearly isn't on this level and he's got to try to make it happen and make it work until whenever claims comes back or dangelo just completely goes off and his maturity continues to to escalate he did make the all star team last year as a reserve for all depot but he's still he was he was that caliber auber and if he is really that good and he's just stood out there now claes coming back. I mean that they'll make it make it work but debbie another thing too. <hes> kirk has never really done to have three really dynamic scorers in the backcourt for real guys not nikki on so i uh and i gotta love all this. I hope i hope so because you know he never got tired of winning and you know that but if he can get into the play offs. I think that's a great thing and who knows me. We saw the if curry makes that shot in game six with everybody in the hospital. They get the game seven. That's exactly right so i'll bring this full circle and go back to the arena. I noticed when they were showing off the the tour of the other day with huge jumbotron. The starting lineup was snuffing curry klay thompson. Do you gotta clinton back after the all star break the do you see that that being what they do well it as i as i say if if de ngelo russell is the man and player that they think he is <hes>. I think they'd probably go that way. I don't see a <hes> pool or scholar or any of these guys really becoming a frontline n._b._a. Starter hitting into the playoffs right right now could happen. You never know oh but but yeah i did see that they had klay right in there <hes> but that's kind of the dream. I guess they wanna put all your front. You don't wanna put mckinney in iraq with that that way but noticeably they left anthony davis out of the lakers lineup kiss so apparently there was a load management issue going yeah it turns out he won't be playing at all against the warriors bruce and i have tried to take care of connor laterna while he's been taking his load management commits you man. We need you back here. <hes> can't wait for <hes>. The the season the the warriors will report to camp on september thirtieth so we're actually getting close. "Dollars. Well i think hurry dream on and you know that's that's kind of goes without saying and i was also well thinking about kevin durant was talking about statues year has statues and and i could see instead of trying to figure everything i could just see a little part part of the outside where there's there's. There's like a statue plaza and all five of those guys are depicted the hamptons five so you get all in there you get durant. Don't do it right away. Okay who let some time pass but then you can reflect on how great it was you know when they won. The title and these are the five guys. I don't think anyone would quarrel with that. You know it'd be the greatest thing for shaun livingston but i think he would understand that you know he had a little more impact on more long lasting so who knows who knows what's going to happen but that's the thought that pass through go ahead and maybe that is the right way to do it <hes> that i always think when you retire too many numbers you start to water it down a little bit yeah maybe staples oh center desert right the the the greats the elites statutes yeah then there are a number of guys who have their number times and then there's a wall of fame which is a different level so maybe now that the warriors kind of have a run light this. Maybe that's maybe that's what they do to kind of differentiate. Yeah i think so. I have five statues in one little area. Be kind of a fun place to hang <music> out you know but yeah i mean boston. They retire everybody. They don't even worry about it. Jim watts up there man eventually like the yankees usc. Eventually you run out a number of somebody's got to be number one hundred and three dollars thank you you mentioned livingston at the end there and bob myers said something anthony on n._b._c. It's going to hurt production wise but bob myers was talking about was <hes> almost kind of the the old wise man in in the locker room and how much they think they'll miss andrei goodall and shaun livingston in there when you look at at this roster which i guess what we're about a month away from them reporting to camp when you look at this roster guys who can can fill that locker room roll roll that old wise man in the corner shaun livingston and andre. I think looney could get there eventually. <hes> he's a real solid guy that respect not now. I mean he's not even not even start. His minutes are down. He distracts me as a real high character guy but you know you taught me de ngelo russell who knows if even lasts a season i know he he's had big the big maturity issues in the past he he's not going to be one of those guys and then you're you're. You're talking about guys like mckinney and pascal and rookies and <hes> spielman. There's there's just a very vague room full of people that don't fit that and i think it's huge. I think they're going to really miss it would all and livingston on the court for another year or two but but they just they just lend so much class in professionalism you know when things are just going haywire and and coach kerr is at wit's end and and you know maybe a little out of sorts. You know you've got these guys who can level everything out and it's really big at playoff time. I think you hit a key right there when i think about it because <music> <hes> draymond is a fantastically leader but he runs hot yeah steve kerr is a fantastic leader and communicator but he runs hot so so so that was kind of the foil was then you had dollar and livingston who could calm things back down and you wonder will a guy like steph curry. It's not natural for him to be vocal. <hes> a guy like klay thompson one of those guys kinda a step up to be the the other side of the heated and neither one of those guys is really used to that role. I i do think they could do it. I think they'd get respect for doing it. <hes> it's just a little little different deal for them. You know claes very laid back and kind of lets his his games. In both of those guys you know curry does all kind of leadership stuff but it's not so much that you can see he like getting in a guy's face or calming down a crisis so that'll be very interesting so talking about common down a crisis <hes> no this is is a little bit off warriors topic but i thought it was fantastic this week. Kobe bryant was making one of his appearances and starts talking about shaquille o'neal and says man. If that guy was in the gym with me he worked hard. I would have twelve rings. It made me think about dominating shaquille was yeah but nobody has is kobe. Bryant's work ethic and it started making run through my mind guys thought man if they had kobe's work ethic. What would they have been like the first one for me. During my time oh covering the warriors was a guy named anthony randolph sure high lottery pick <hes> look the part young spindly lean do everything on the floor yeah <hes> and but he didn't work it didn't work and dan nelson would tell them all the time well. I guess you might have a futures a backup center. Go out there and work on corner threes kind of tell them here's here's the way the league's going but he just he's playing in chad right. Always always wonder about those guys. Are there guys shacks different story right so talented. I mean he come on shack. Laid waste of the countries is right. I mean he. I don't care how hard he got out there and it was over especially when he was young. It's like oh my god. I remember seeing him with orlando. It's like this guy is is a specimen he. He's a bad asks and he's killing people out there. I don't know what more you'd want from him then. It's interesting too because dwight. Howard is a guy who doesn't doesn't work and they bring him in the lakers. Bring him in. They should talk to kobe about about schweitzer because this shack thing. You've got to roll your eyes. A little bit kobe had legitimate issues dwight howard no work ethic wanted ah to be the man instead of kobe. Eventually i mean way out of out of control and <hes> yeah then you know you look at dwight howard. He's built. He's got the most impressive bill oh. I think i've ever seen one anybody but he's not a guy you want. You know so it's it's a fine line. Are there guys that you look at now and think that oh you think man if he would just get in the gym and work with steph curry and his trainer brandon pain for a month. What would they end up being <hes> russell westbrook. I think he's a madman on the warriors or or around you see see it all. I'm not quite in around the league mode right now but <hes> i'd. I'd have to think about it. <hes> but you know there's guys <hes> i mean you know it was funny about it is in boston <hes> <hes> kyrie irving. Is you know he's the he's got the greatest handle anyone's ever seen a great shooter. He's one that he's wanna championship. He did it in oakland and he's a total. He's a god but but he's not he's not a leader of any kind and he says things that are just crazy. I mean after the yet another terrible shooting performance against toronto. He said well who really cares. I'm thinking well everybody in boston but three everybody but you and he just kind of drifts he was drifting away from not as we as we watch that happen <hes> that's that's a different thing from work ethic but when you have guys who are prime timers i mean you have to you've got a lead and you you gotta make sense. It shouldn't be that hard but and you know koby as the ultimate example of that. I mean he's unbelievable. It's interesting the way things are going rusty. Kawhi leonard probably universally recognizes two-way guy in the game or certainly one of them sat out a whole bunch of games by design he was not there air for a lot of games and that's what he wanted and that may be what he wants the clippers i don't know how doc rivers feels about that or st bomber or the fans and <hes> but he's certainly not a slacker but if you're not appearing at a bunch of games that's that's a little odd yeah yeah. I'm sure this won't make listeners in the bay area too happy because we keep mentioning l._a. Away with this this brings up another topic that i'm interested in right now is so the clippers now have quite leonard and paul george lakers lebron. James and anthony davis <hes> but joe lake a on t._v. The other day talked about well. We're still a team with four all stars right. You got steph and clay and draymond bring in dangelo russell. <hes> so obviously you can't. You can't deny that have four all stars but when you look around the league. Are there duos that that impress you more than others yeah. That's that's that's the thing now. We'll see. How shakes out in boston but you feel. You've got embiid and simmons. <hes> like you say kawai and paul george then you get harden. Pardon and westbrook's going to be unbelievable. <hes> you know utah. I think i think <hes> donovan mitchell is gonna is gonna be pairing up with with somebody that is going to be a great. You know go bare go baron and donovan mitchell. I think it's pretty dynamite. <hes> you look all around the league. It's more about duo mccollum and damian lillard. It really just goes on and on all all through the west. It's it's remarkable. You know denver with jamal murray and you'll get i mean where does it stop. It's wild and it's great. I mean to me. There's there's so much balance in that regard <hes> that i think utah's really going to be worth worth watching. I'm glad that donald mitchell was playing for the world cup and it's nobody else's because you know he he's he's still growing as a guy in a leader and he's probably going to be a leader on that team and hopefully lead them to to win and you know just he knows other guys. Don't get hurt. It's so late in the the summer. Well what do you make of what's going on with with u._s._a. Basketball when when jerry colangelo came in several years ago the whole idea was to get a commitment right you had to you had to sign up and say i'll be here for four years to get on that that national upper level roster guys are just leaving a mass exodus now without contract situations without got injuries just leaving yeah. What do you make of what's going on with u._s._a. Basketball well two things as i mentioned the timing. It's way too late. You can't start this thing and september. I mean there's training camps this around the corner and i've always been in favour of guys guys have always played ball in the summer rucker league or whatever but it's it's not a it's not terribly intense. It's more of a show and guys tend not to get hurt so that's a that's a that's a problem <hes> especially with the load management thing coming into play. They'll probably probably be more of that this year. That's on the rise and <hes> you know there's nobody wants to work too hard and and plus i think just the prestige of this tournament doesn't grab abc guys you know <hes>. I mean you talk about sitting out. He used to see the guy sitting out for canada unbelievable murray and barrett and because tristan thompson on and on on and on australia doesn't simmons <hes> x._m. Couple other guys serbia could probably use a couple extra guys. They're looking pretty good but yeah. I mean it's just a sort of a universal feeling this thing doesn't matter that much and you know i think it's going to be different in the olympics in twenty twenty <hes> it's in tokyo players love going to asia with their shoe contracts. You can really catch you over there plus. It's the olympics i mean timing is way better. It's still means an awful lot ton of prestige there which is really going to be <unk> quite separate from what we're seeing in the world cup. It's just too bad. I wish it was early in the summer but the the way guys are taking care of their bodies and looking ahead to a season where they're going to be resting more. It just doesn't make sense to go play in this thing especially when you see all your friends not going as well. It's contagious. I think you're right. I think when it's an olympic year it takes on a different levels and then you see the guy's going <hes> but <hes> for years it seemed like even the world cup's the off seasons were were important in everybody was at least he's going to vegas and doing the showcase and build that camaraderie and even some of that's been lost well the two thousand fifteen i think world cup curry and harden and westbrook and clay. You know backward right yeah. It's an interesting one to bring up because i believe that was the paul george injury showcase and so. I wonder if in kind of one of those this catastrophic injuries has changed..
"chase center" Discussed on Warriors Off-Court
"The world's top adventure athletes like rock climber alex hahn old who came onto talk through his incredible free solo climb of el capitan in yosemite a big part of the film was like the whole love story with my girlfriend and all that but i hadn't even met her when he started listen in wherever you get your podcasts wild west welcome back to the warriors off court this rusty simmons staff writer at the san francisco chronicle along with our great columnist bruce jenkins and this past week. The warriors brass was out showing off its new arena bruce. I know that <hes> you got a chance to tour the facility and see everything that has to offer. What are your first impressions. When you walk through there well it's pretty mind blowing for all of us who've been going to oracle arena oakland coliseum. Whatever through the years you walk into the state of the art arena that they've been talking got as far back as nineteen sixty three. I found out the original plan was down here south of market you know fourth and howard and that whole block but to see it actually finished changed and rick welts talking to the to the the media with a look wearing a big look of pride on his face. It's it's it's it's mind blowing it really is. I mean you know we were. We saw the whole deal. We saw the locker rooms. We saw what the really rich folks have. <hes> down courtside level what they have sort of behind the scenes when you leave the seats and some of the amenities they have are just incredible. I mean restaurants or bars. They got butlers. They got tables with knives and forks already on them and napkins and big screen. T._v.'s and one thing that struck me rusty is that you know if i had a group of people in that i'd be back there at the start of the game and who knows how are you leak into the game having fun talking. You can talk loudly. You're not interrupting anybody. You're ordering food. You're drinking and you might have the giants on windscreen unscreened the warriors on another and and that means empty seats out if you're watching on t._v. What the hell where where's everybody. I think that's going to be something that they <hes> <hes>. You can't stop it. I wouldn't blame people from going back there but i think it's going to be an interesting aspect to it. We we started to see that at oracle a little bit as they offered more and more suites on that courtside had level <hes> not so much the beginning of the game but at halftime people would go back there and it's really not come back <hes> so it'll be interesting now because you're right. They offer such such lavish things <hes> there's places with wine cellars in swigs. Why would you ever leave back there. I wouldn't right so i think that'll be one of the most interesting getting things about the new arena is. There's no doubt that everything and there's first class. It's a beautiful beautiful place <hes> but can it live up to the aura the noise he's level <hes> all of those factors that were there kind of organically at oracle arena yeah the noise level is a crucial factor and we're not going to know until it's the third quarter order of crazy game and if it feels and sounds a lot like it always did and you know all good <hes> it's it's a different kind of crowd. It's a little less <hes> blue collar but oracle it was drifting well away from that also <hes> one thing i found interesting. Is that <hes> the t._v. Crew fits in barnet. Now fits in kalina as buki are no longer going to be on the court. They're going to be up at the top of the lower level still a great seat. You know fifty yard line. They got their own booth. I talked fizi says it's very very nice and this is a trend in the league. <hes> teams are moving the cruise off the floor. <hes> to let's face it you know cash in with thousands of dollars from rich folks and but also interesting is that the the the networks a._b._c. you know mark jackson and those guys <hes> van gundy and mike breen. There's still going to be on the floor because they had specifically written into the contract. This is a new trend in the league moving t._v. Crews off the floor and they saw that can happen to us so i always thought that was interesting at oracle because obviously fits and barnett were on one side at mcchord and then when it was a national t._v. Game they would set them up on the other side and but they always made room for and that was my first thought when you said they were moving fits up top was i bet when the national guys come in. They're still gonna be on the floor yeah rusty. There was a time when we had those grants and you know we were plenty upset when we kind of got kicked out and she's as you don't feel so bad now and even the t._v. Guys can't get on the courtside seats so all power to the wealthy. We'll make it interesting for us because there's times now where in the fourth fourth quarter when you want to see a replay as a writer you don't have a view from up top so you're almost better sometimes being in the media room so you can see the replay over and over again on t._v. Yeah now if we go in there and we're listening to a description. It's from somebody else's way high up. That's true. Maybe that's maybe that's the warriors thing they they say. We're gonna ask these huge prices for tickets. We're make sure they're in the arena so they can see. You can't even get the good description on tv anymore. Well that's really true though they won't be able to hear ernst and see and feel the game like we used to the sounds of it <hes> that's what i always love being courtside because you can bring the game to the fans that they're not gonna see. Even the fans ends eighteen rose up are going to get so we lose all that and it's <hes> you know our our seats <hes> the medium. Nobody cares about this but us but their way up way up high and away in the corner and i think a lot of are going to be retreating to the media room to to <hes> you know watched the telecast which is not available in the arena. The arena has a house feed which is a different thing there are video wouldn't show a call that a that exposes the raff or makes. Anybody look bad so you. You got if you really want to know what's going on in watching on t._v. You're going to have to be in the media lounge so there. We are watching t._v. In another room just like the fans and their other room. Nobody's going to be sure i'm i'm sure there is an exact rule on this at the n._b._a. Has but years and years ago in dallas anytime there was a controversial call. Mark cuban replayed over and over again again you even while the next play was going just keep showing the crowd worked up in the n._b._a. Finally came up with a rural. You could only replay yeah these things so many times. If at all it all yeah yeah brigit mention how often we used to get to sit courtside and different kinds of stories. You could sell when you do that. I'll share one of my favorite stories. It was the the last game of the season <hes> steph curry's rookie year and they were in portland and if you remember at the end of that year the warriors were down to eight players who were healthy <hes> and during this game three of them fell out and so the rule is that you can keep playing so that you have five that last one that house out and so they the the referee said no you can't you can't do that. You have to put one of your injured guys in and i'm sitting right there on the bench as don nelson threatens to sue the officials walk off the the floor <hes> and finally puts you off back in injured to foul and come out of the game and it was just remarkable but those are the kinds of stories you get to tell when you can hear those conversations the interaction between the coaches and the officials. Do you have a favorite favorite well. I always go back to chicago. The old chicago stadium was an old barn. Tremendous atmosphere places laced went back. A thousand years is on the south side and the place just rocked into the and this is michael jordan coming into his prime and and <hes> during game one one of the finals in nineteen ninety-one finals now you now this is there's media everywhere. We farmed up to places unknown. There were two of us there me and george shirt from the chronicle. We were sitting right behind both of us behind the lakers bench and when michael jordan did that switch hand thing that still you still see. There's a shot where they're painting the bench. There's shirking me going crazy by phil jackson. I think i'm grabbing my head. You know i mean and we had such a great view of that and when when the bulls moved to the united center manner now. I'm still covering the finals. Now i'm up with the most everyone else at the very top we a helicopter would be better and eventually you just said you know well. You know i i i just gotta go down to the media room so i can have some idea what's going on in this championship series and topped off by the night that steve kerr won the title for the bulls eye. I'm sitting there in the media room and there's a time out and this is. It's all coming to ahead and i'm just thinking here. I am two thousand miles from the chronicle and you you know i can be in my living room. I said you know what i just. I got up. We were really close to the court in the meteorology. I got up make sure my credential was prominent strode very confidently onto onto the court made my first right turn up the up the deter the aisle and everybody was standing and i just whipped around and and stood and said okay arrest me and nobody did so. I was like thirty feet from steve kerr when he hit that shot but you have to. I it's tough. It really is tough to to hear experience. The game now as opposed opposed to how it was see. I never knew that story. I didn't know you set the pick for steve kerr. Did in fact rio talked about it before you. You don't hear me that's great so i'll kind of segue off this because the united center in chicago <hes> is still a place where any n._b._a. Player goes immediately. They show up for shoot around immediately. Look up into the rafters because there's so much history there and look at the retired numbers and jordan pippen and all these things <hes> so it made me think about that <hes> one of the things that i was interested in this week that as i mentioned the brass was out doing their meteorologists and talk and <hes> joe link-up makeup again reiterated the fact this this week that he wants to retire andrea dollars number and was to retire kevin durant number <hes> now just from an outsider. The durant thing seemed interesting interesting to me. It's the guy who was here for only three years <hes>. I wonder what you think about retired numbers. <hes> the warriors history retired numbers is is elite right. It's we'll chamberlain and rick barry chris mullin and massery nate thurmond yeah now allows. That's it yeah that's it. I'm working on a piece right now about the worst san francisco history and five of the six exp people referring to san francisco days. There's tim hardaway or or moans the only modern guy at all and it's a little tricky i i mean retiring. Durant's number is certainly have no problem with that and he's talked about igwe dollars..

"True to form with the warriors and chase center as a whole it sounds like they're going to be doing a bunch of stuff that is is just state of the art and and new and exciting and and what we can do is not only let you know about some of that let you know what you're going to see it's a center which shockingly do I know this is this opening like are there is there like a concert next week what what's the what's the date when this is you know the doors the doors open so it's gonna be September sixth I think the metallic as the September sex okay so we're still a month away there are but I remember when I toured his center I know that I know the guys that were recorded in construction were like we've got to be done on August first and maybe that you know would leave a little lag time but anyway mark Jeffers is the culinary director and he was in he was at the four seasons in Tahoe it was that it was alright four seasons in Tahoe Ritz Carlton in not tall one of those semansky places so are they robbed him from from the Ritz Carlton which obviously cares a lot about the food that it puts out and now he's running it at at the chase center and they're gonna be check this out I'm just going to share with you some of the cool things thirty six kitchens inside chase Sattar every single place you go to have food I don't think I've ever heard of this at a at a sporting event and obviously it might be much more about because we do you know what I'm saying any kind of the venue I've never heard of this because I used to well I I mean like many of us are used to be a server years and years ago and I remember going to tables and sharing information like this like weird to memorize all this stuff everything is prepared fresh by local vendors you know farm to table you can do that at a fancy restaurant you'll do that a warrior game you do now that's the way it works all gonna be prepared flash working only with local vendors and we are like enough that we're gonna try some of these things tonight some throughout the night what I'll do instead of just you know ha ha I get the food you don't we're gonna we're gonna try these things and and we'll let you know about what we're tasting and so you'll have maybe an idea or two of some things that you might want to order when you go to your first concert or warrior game are coming up this year add to add to the center and then there was also a cool thing that you guys put together called tastemakers a chase err err and this includes basically the opportunity for local vendors they all submitted their their their items other best items are the opportunity for them to sell their own product inside chase center hi this is mainly on the on the beverage fraud and they came up with faction burrowing harmonic growing Drake's broke triple vodou brewing and so these are local vendors that you're gonna you may already know and now you're going to have the opportunity to to bounce around it's a center and and and check some of those things out there's more to share on this we will do that as the night continues to unfold but really really cool the needs thank you for for for bringing this by do you want to maybe do this every Wednesday is this something that we can discuss I mean I can call you know I know a few other folks that the warriors we can now I don't wanna put it all on you but but anyway really really good because I don't have to bring nearly as much food tonight and so that was very convenient for his I thank you but no I'm looking for to dive in here so we'll do that here in in just a second I Dalton Johnson CSN bay area all over the giants in about a half hour if you missed far hotter earlier today with Tom and freaking rod whatever he was doing here he actually your rod did to me today real quick rob made me break the law very upset rob's really my fault but very upset with him I am supposed to I will in fact I will host with Tom the next two days I will not be on this show tomorrow on Friday I will be with Tom tomorrow and Friday I got out of there ya I got in the car after golfing today and I'm driving home and turn the radio on and there's rod wait a minute trust me on vacation for the rest of the week that I was so flown better stop sign I texted the producers of TKA B. and said issues me if the next two days of my life we're gonna totally be flipped upside down based on what I think I'm doing I need to know this and I need to know a sap and may as quickly as possible take the right back rob will be going right back on vacation both from a hole in Friday but I was sold I was so thrilled that I I texted while in the car and I'm not gonna blame myself because that's now will guys do you plan so I was almost I'm a golfer and coming from a golf course golfers blame other things you had a bad shot it was the wind it was this that the other I was at Lincoln Park today the sprinklers were on on some of the holes I'm like I'm trying to hit here and I'm get nailed by you know water shots like this you know so I got to blame that blame rod everything was somebody else's fault so I apologize these officers it was rob Brooks this fall all right how well worn in Humboldt on these boards later hi Lauren it's going on hi how are you yeah a I'm sure it's as secure I'm telling you know some help we're driving today I was thinking I might be real happy was far and by the end of today but I tell you the way things will come out I'll say he made a trade a few guys in a couple guys that we might try to mers but I thank you like here I would still be rape black and from a distance but I think it's gonna work out I think if anybody can make it work with what what he's done it would be poetry and hello I'm bored with little is going on I mean it's just if I could I'd probably literally by the guy you know I'm not happy with what is current yeah I think you could do that I mean we're sitting here talking about all the beverages that are going to be happening at chase center all right faction burrowing harmonic throwing Drake's brewing triple voodoo brewing the entire beverage program was designed by Bon vivant hospitality which owns trick dog you may be worn you go to trick talk all the time don't Jones no well I'm kind of far from the city I understand now but when the next time you come to the city you can go to check dog and I invite far on and and you can buy a beer I think he has beard as far yeah I'd love to drink a beer with that feeling that seven down the city will treat other game this year I just have a feeling okay if if you traded Bumgarner otherwise you would have a will be treated and McCutchen last year that losing streak but I got it with a killer came yeah was this is not now Lauren what what would you want to buy and if you do if you did trade Baumgartner it all got a ticket out of town okay Lauren Lauren thank you he got a lot offers on mad bomb it's so interesting you know Brian Cashman came out today who obviously runs the Yankees house for a long time and he just flat out said I mean is his fanbase is really disappointed they did nothing and they have no rotation they got some guys were good and healthy fingers crossed are there for them by their fan base is not happy he did nothing in a flat sad luck I had conversations and I just I didn't want to give up what they wanted me to give up and I read that night when the upon us for Clint Frazier did may he demanded Clyde Frazier and you said no and then he said fine I say no right back at you and now now far knows that more is going to get a beer because of that I don't even think he knew that that was part of that conversation so that's exciting all right quick pause back to your calls it in a way can be are on the run in the other room and try my first dash and will report on that year coming up as well and then Dalton Johnson who covers the giants and writes for us yes in bay area going to join us and a little bit less than.

"And I did not come up with something before the broadcast. But I do have something right now. I think it's pretty good. We've been talking about the chase center and Brian's been complaining the entire show just obnoxious complaining about how his hip hop is not represented. Well, I think we all feel under represented under represent you know, what I'm saying pick artists that we would like to see at the chase center. Let's see. Because this is gonna season a little bit too hip hop. And somebody with color. I'm actually going to go with a rock band. Out of Willits, California. Trae cool. Force you get nice, Billie. Joe Armstrong and ties into the warriors. Because I'd be listening to this before tomorrow night's game. By the way, I'm the dubs asong song one of their more recent albums. I can't remember the name of it. And it's called. I'm still breathing. Oh, yeah. Like a jokey tying off for the last time. Wow. Like a man betting on his last dime. I'm still breathing. "Was drunk driving. And his passenger was the drummer of a pretty up and coming band annoy rocks at the time member them in the eighties, and he Vince Neal wiped out drunk driving. He killed the guy the guy in the car. Yeah. He did. And this'll be in the movie. Also, I know Vince Neal lost a daughter a one point like his his name young daughter passed away. But then you got the other stuff just a party times. Like, Heather Locklear, Mary and Tommy Lee, then come by the way, Tommy Lee now, let's make a movie about him. Yeah. Him and Pam is about his well. Yeah. And then came Pam like it's hard to say because other Locklear was equally of that status. Murphy, and she was a big star. All right. Well, the dirt in the movie. Netflix says you need to watch it tumor. Murph brush up on your rock and roll decadence kids will be in bed at that time. Vanity or movie movie a movie movie? Yeah. Hey tonight anyway spider. Nice. Yeah. You should among the many things we've done today. Played Ron burgundy experienced the Tom Izzo freshman yelling moment, we've all come out in favor of Tom Izzo. Yeah.
