Charlie and Tiger Woods' Golfing Dymanic

"We got Charlie and Tiger. He picked Charlie and Tiger. He also talked about a lot of going to win the father son. They're probably going to win the father's son. I can think of no better scenario to in 2022 with the Tiger Woods coming. Coming back on the golf course and him and his son taken down, taken down the father's son. He could probably do you think Charlie Woods can be Tiger at this point? I don't know, man. I don't know. I heard Charlie goes to the weight room all the time. Like for however old he is, how old is he? 13, 14. He looks freaking like he's pretty swole. But I heard Tiger, I heard Tiger, he might not be playing it anymore. I don't know. Shows you how up to date we are with current golf events. I mean, I don't know why he wouldn't, unless he's really, really, really banged up, but I hope he does play 'cause that was fun to watch. Charlie swing, by the way, you can break stuff down and find false, but he has a lot of mannerisms just because he watched, I bet you, I'm assuming tigers his coach, right? Maybe he has another coach that looks at him, but I'm assuming tigers is his coach. And I mean, he has a hole in his backyard that you can hit a full 7 iron in. And the real estate just on that 7 iron hole is probably $50 million plus. This is just, I mean, different kind of wins, different greens, different everything. And I'm not saying that because there's plenty of, there's plenty of rich kids growing up. That were kids of guys on the PGA Tour and they grew up just being a bunch of assholes and weren't good at golf at all. And they just blah, blah, blah. A lot of them decided they were smart. They didn't want to play golf. Maybe they're a doctor or maybe they're trying to save the world. That's fine. But a lot of these kids, you know, you know them, you'll see them just get sponsored exemptions, blah, blah, blah. I think Tiger puts it in Charlie's head like, hey, it's going to be extra hard for you. I mean, who are they going to compare you to? Let's be honest, the goat. Right. So it's going to be extra hard and just as mannerisms, whatever, the way he talks when he does talk. He seems pretty chill, but that's a lot of pressure, man. But if there's anyone, I mean, what did Earl Woods do? Tiger. I mean, you know, talk about making the guy a mentally tough. I don't know if Tiger is that hard on Charlie. I really doubt it, but he probably took the good out of all that mental tough training and told Charlie what it takes. And maybe it just goes out there.

"This Tiger, when you're dropping when you're dropping him off at his house Tiger ever heavy in for like some bourbon or anything. That's the funny thing, you know, it's you know, I don't like to step on anybody's thing. So I let Ali, my ex-wife. I'll let her do that. I talked to Erica a little bit on the drop offs, but I don't, I don't do any Tiger. He's not interested in me. He knows, you know, he's taken my son on vacations, and I don't even talk to him. 8 and acknowledged my existence. So I'm okay with that. I'm like, whatever, it's fine. I'll let maverick enjoy himself.

"So what made you go down to Costa then? Obviously that's not cold. You just change a pace, just go and surf and surf instead of snow. Well, you know, I'd spent, like I said, my college career and big sky Montana and I had suffered a couple like horrendous injuries. My first one was, I blew my left knee up, like my first year, not that bad. But I blew up my medial collateral ligament. And that one healed and then maybe I had other injuries too. I broke my jaw like when you snuggled, if you land in a flat, you land and you hit your knee, you hit your knee with your chin. So I had that injury, which was bad. But then I had an avulsion fracture to my ankle, which is like a high speed like twisting and turning where you rip the ligament off the bone and it kind of splinters. And that one really sent me for a loop. Like I couldn't walk. I was in a straight cast for a while. And that one was that was hard to heal from, and I just needed to heal up. And I was like, man, you know, I used to surf a lot. Between high school and so I was like, man, I'm going to coast up, so I saved up some cash. We're down there for pretty relatively cheap, and you could stand on there for three months before you got whatever, go get another Visa or something. And so I went down there, I bought a ticket, I think it was like February to February March, April, may. I did a three month deal. And I didn't want to come home, man. I was freaking loving it. Hey, all you do is surf every day. And eat fruit, rice, beans, and fish. So you just get your shit gets tight,

"Could be obscure trivia, a fight you didn't know about. He's great online and you know, perfect, perfect holiday gift for you for your friends who love hockey. We got to talk about this Charlie Woods over the weekend. Tigers 12 year old son, a clinic. Apparently European books have offered 1500 to one odds that he wins a major before he's 22 years old. Are they too low too high or what? I would think that's crazy. I would want to leave 5 grand one for a 12 year old kid. I don't care who his father is. Yeah, and I was, I was told by somebody that apparently he's not like top 50 golfers for his age in the state of Florida or something like that, which I find crazy. Now who knows if Tiger even has him playing in all the events? He might be like Jedi master. You'll go out when I tell you you're ready type thing when you've mastered it all. Like he's almost like, who's the guy from Karate Kid wax on wax off the Miyagi? Tigers a little Miyagi where he's just like, I'm gonna train you perfectly before you go out and rip up tournaments. But the kids swagger, you can't tell me that there's a lot of life isn't just general genetics because the kid was walking around, shoving in darts from like a 170 yards. He's 12 years old. They made 11 birdies in a row. There's a scramble formation. So like Tiger had to drive his son into drive. Whoever has the best one, they both go hit a shot from there. They both bought from the same place. And they finished second place. So Tiger, of course, has made this. This is a tournament. It's a father son. It's a great tournament. If you love golf, it's pretty cool to see legends. And I believe everyone who plays in it has won a major, except for kuchar was in it somehow and he never won a major so I don't know, but I thought you had to win a major and then you could bring your dad or your son. So it's a great event. But now the fact that Tiger Woods is playing in it with his kid who's this stallion like it's just probably I bet you're the ratings were through the roof yesterday watching it or Saturday and Sunday excuse me, it's Monday now recording. But I was, I was just so impressed by the kid because you could tell he's got the confidence too. And why wouldn't he? He's got the best golfer of all time as his father, but just an unreal story, but to say like he's going to win a major by 22. I'd want way higher odds. Maybe like win a major at some point in his life, even then I'd want more odds. He's 12. Who knows what happens? Exactly. He's 12. I mean, I would want even more for any fucking future rides, but that got me thinking like, what if you could buy like other future odds on other life situations like if biz says organizing in the podcast ever again? Oh, that's a fucking slam dunk right there. No, what I was thinking was like a certain actor or actress who like you think they got like a really good future and you could say, hey man, I want to buy stock. Like remember the Kevin on the office. Who really buy the stock and that was going to win an Oscar? Not Rob Lowe, was it jolly sheet? I don't know. I've seen the office, but not like every episode. I know. But I would be down with that. Where you're saying, if you see some 19 year old actor and he crushes a movie, like I want to buy, I want to bet that guy wins best actor someday. Absolutely. And I get two of them. I'll tell you right now. Do you know who Paul Walter Hauser is? No, if I saw his picture though, I'm sure. I know. Okay. Have you ever seen Richard Jewell? Yes, the guy who was falsely accused of the Atlantic City. The Atlanta Olympic bombing, clinics would directed. He played Richard Jewell in that movie. He's been a handful of movies dude. Everything I see this guy in, he absolutely fucking kills it, and he was so good at enriching jewel. If I could put like legit $10,000 in stock and he will win an Oscar someday, I would do it in a heartbeat. He's that good of an actor. And the other one has for an actress and Jesse Buckley, she was on a Google and R two. I recognized this guy, Paul. Jesse, who? Jesse Buckley. She's an actress. It's Jess IE. She was actually in Chernobyl recognizer. You might not and she's been in a bunch of obscure roles. She actually was in Chernobyl, but she was the woman at the she's the real red savage. She's a redhead. She's in this movie called wild rose, which is a really good independent film about a woman who's trying to become a singer in battle and personal demons, but she was on the last season of fago, which was the weakest season of fog while we've seen on TV but her character and her acting was so good. I like EM actor. This woman is going to be a stud style rather because studs women. And then she was in, I'm thinking of ending things, the Netflix movie. Jesse Buckley, I would put ten grand onto him, Paul Walt the house and Jesse Buckley easily to win future Oscars. What would you want for odds? Well, right now I would say Jesse Buckley should be probably because both of them have never been in like a big movie, right? Well, how's that been in a couple big movies? Like, I mean, you know, he was in ritual. That's a Clint Eastwood movie. He's on people's radars, but yeah, I would want at least fucking 50 to one. He has been nominated this still young. But yeah, I wish and by the way, if anyone knows where you can put these type of wages in or buy these types of stocks, let me know because I think Europe you can bet everything in the future over there. You definitely shit. We can't talk about this. Oh yeah, yeah. On the RPA. We sure nothing. So all right, well, we could talk about gambling at the Super Bowl. Vegas is actually going to be at the Super Bowl what next year, right? After this season, they announced that they should just have it every year. They should, but they're like Miami, you know what I mean? Just LA, have it in awesome awesome cities where you want to go with good weather. But you know, as an old school guy, it just pisses me off so much what that after all these years of like crying about Vegas and saying how bad it would be to have sports there and gamble now. Everyone realizes it's harmless. Like Vegas is just another city with gambling. And everybody's having all the events there. They just look like the biggest hypocrites in the world for the last 30 years. I know, but you couldn't really like as much as I agree, like back when Vegas was run by the mall. It wouldn't have been going down. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, you know, they had more integrity when they were run by the mob. No, but I know, but then when you're talking about everything's changed so much in terms of how everything's run out there before it was such a gong show is like, how are you going to figure out how to get a pro sports team in there? Well, they are exactly like those guys off corruption was going to be right around the corner, but all right, well, that's about it for sports. I think the one final topic with I know biz doesn't watch the show. So we didn't really need his input. The Succession final season three had last Sunday. What was your reaction to it? Yes, so if you are Succession fans and you're not caught up, I would say maybe fast forward for a little bit, but we're going to go into what was one of the best finales. Every finale of each one of those seasons has been top notch. And this one, that final scene with them in there with that guy thinking they had the upper hand on Logan Roy for one second and the entire car ride where they're.

"Is something going to come out of my mouth? I know that things are going to come out of my mouth. Now it's just a matter of growing and getting even better about what those words are. Are you bringing your sticks to every tour stop with you? Are you playing a lot? So I got some conflicting advice in the beginning that some folks told me don't bring your clubs, you're never going to get a chance to play. And to those people, I say you have just completely betrayed me for at least the first half of the year. Yeah. So the second half, I brought my sticks everywhere. I'm also playing in some programs and stuff. So I gotta keep it together. And make sure I don't completely fall off. So yes, I'm traveling. What's your game like? For the people who don't know what's the truth. What are your handicaps? Frank's weaknesses. I think last I checked, I thought I was a 12.2, but now I'm a 12.5. So maybe we don't need to talk about that. Well, if you get to 9 by the end of the year. So I don't know if that's going to happen. But I've gotten really just straight 200, most of the time. Every once in a while, I tend to pull it left by pulling off to my miss. My iron play has gotten so much better. My chipping has gotten so much better. My putting is absolute trash. Everything else for working on it. And wait, and do you play out of Lake Merced? I feel like you post range videos from there from time to time. Yeah, I launched like Mercedes and I take lessons with pat steth who's the head pro there. He's best his amazing, completely. I'll have to send you guys a three years ago video of my swing and last week's video. It's like a complete completely different person. Yeah, golf channel did you dirty when they showed the story? We've overcome straight up. Well, it sounds like whenever Dylan and I make it to the Bay Area, we just have to count on to get us out at Lake Merced. Yeah. Yeah, any time. Come around. We're getting a redesign. Gil Hans is doing the redesign right now. Historical renovation. Very nice. All right, wait, before we let you go, I do want to just run through a few. I want to learn a little bit more about a couple players. Who are some I doubt we're going to get you to dog in any players. That would seem counterproductive to your job. But who are a few that might be surprising or just terrific interviews or good hangs or friendly or funny should we do one at a time? Who's funny? Who's funnier than we might think? Who's funnier?.

"A good job that day. You mentioned relationship building and how that's an important part of your job as well because who knows if it's going to be just a Lauer who wins or if it'll be Joseph bramlet or if it'll be Rory. Where do you feel like you are in terms of, I guess, in the last 11 months building relationships like on the spectrum of everybody knows me and the other side being I'm still really meeting people. Where would you put yourself? I think that I'm getting very close to the at least everybody knows me or knows who I am, and I'm not just some random girl that said that a one off golf event. I'm there for at least 17 of their weeks. They know that when I'm there that I'm with the golf channel, that's Kira blah blah blah. I've players that I text. If I need to ask a question, I could call. I have players, I've never actually spoken to. And everywhere in between, but it's been really great to see how many players have been very open towards me and very just willing to have a conversation and willing to ask you about you as well. It's not just like me constantly asking them questions asking them questions. You know, I've been putting a lot of situations as well where maybe it's a charity event or a social thing. And those are the moments when you're really making those relationships and connections and sharing a little bit about yourself and giving yourself some credibility beyond like I'm just some random person at this event. They trust me. They are, I hope they do. And they know that I'm there to do a job and that we're all there working together as colleagues and I feel like it's gotten that part has gotten much easier, which has been really cool and exciting to see and I walked up on a range towards the end of the year..

"And that is the most difficult thing you wouldn't think that because that's a natural thing that we do. But someone like henny koyack who is someone I really look up to and ask about, I'll ask her a billion questions all the time. That was always her advice to me when I first started and it's like, you know, if I ask you a question, you're not going to sit there and think through your response before you respond in our just the two of us having a friendly conversation. You're just going to talk to me. So just talk to me. And it's easier said than done, but I think that was probably some of the best advice I got before I began this job and the more conversational I can be, the better the interview always is. Totally. The job, the role you play, I think it's a role you see it all kinds of sports, but I think it's maybe a role that not everyone understands viewing from home. Everyone thinks they can ask good questions. And it's not so simple. I am a good example of that. I think Dylan would agree. It's not easy. My question for you is, is there an aspect about your job that you think is misunderstood or maybe the most misunderstood or perceived aspect of being the interviewer, the reporter host? Sure. So, you know, social media is a great thing, but also can be really tough. And sometimes I get a lot of especially if I'm standing in front of the cart, doing an interview for sky or just doing a post round or something got and I post a photo. People will comment on my appearance or just say I'm just the girl with the mic or something or just assume that I'm just there holding a microphone and that's it. And they'll make sexualized comments and just stuff that was not great enough to hear and listen through and deal with on a daily basis that people write you off is just like the blond girl with the mic. Whereas in truth, I have worked so hard to be there and to do this. And I prepare so much each week and it's a 1000% commitment all day every day, especially when it comes to learning about the players building relationships with the players. And building relationships within NBC and golf channel and the people that I work with and just learning from them and listening. It's so all encompassing. But those that are on the outside looking in, just kind of see a pretty picture from far away and they don't understand what actually it took to get there. So yeah, I'm sure if you spoke to some of my fellow reporters, they would tell you something very similar. I think people don't understand how much actually goes into it, which I'm sure you guys can also do. It's funny. That's actually one of the reasons I brought up the question about whether you're consulting with people or just figuring stuff out in real time. So I remember Amanda, ballet, you know, someone saying like, oh yeah, you're just fed these questions anyway. And she was like, who do you think is, who do you think is feeding me these?.

"Up and down on 18 math going on at the end of the corn ferry two or two. Yeah, yeah, it's hard to keep it. Exactly. So yeah, so to keep everything straight and I'm doing the green side post round winner interview live. First time ever in my career. So there was light panic. Going on. And I was like, I don't know if I can do this. I don't know. I was having serious doubt. And he Joseph bramlett wins, who is an angel, who's just so nice and wonderful and has become one of my favorite people to get to interview on tour. But I walk up to him. I'm hearing them counting down in my ear and my heart is going and going. And I think it was he was so happy in his energy, just kind of calmed me in a way. And I blacked out and happened. It was a great interview. And I walked away from that with just so much adrenaline and like, you know what? I can do this. This is amazing. It was like, it was like a drug. It was just, that's when you know you're doing the right thing. So it went from my scariest moment to just absolutely elation and just being really thankful that I get to do this job. All right, so if that was a confidence builder, what was your biggest screw up? Okay, so I had many countless countless groups. I'm sure. Probably the one that just really hurt the most was there was a rain delay at maybe it was the wind. I don't know. I don't remember. Some of that in the south. There's rain delays so I have to run into the truck because we're doing it's on a Thursday or a Friday. I have to run it to the truck to do some interviews remotely from there while they've got players in whatever holding area that they've got them for COVID protocols. They're going to bring a couple of people in to kill time on the broadcast that are doing well. Eric van royen is doing really well. Just went on a crazy run for three or four holes. And I looked on the shot link computer, which for those that don't know is a way for us to get information in real time about nerd stuff. Yeah. So I look at the shot link and when I looked at it, it or at least I thought. So it said that he had a 22 foot pot to make for birdie. And so I was like, okay, great. So when he sits down, I'm going to say, okay, you're thinking about this part, blah, blah, we're going to talk about it. So he sits down. I ask him the question and he goes, well, I already made the putt. And it was great, but and it was just like my heart just sank and this is live on TV on the golf channel, and I was like, oh, you know, I'm working on some outdated information. I'm so sorry. He was a great sport about it, and it was fine. But just like, I was so excited to myself of having this ready to go and I just completely bombed. And then I couldn't really get it together for the rest of the interview and it was not going to win me an Emmy anytime soon. How much do you hate Randall is? I hate them..

"Never been in that situation where there's a playoff and you don't know where the interview is actually going to happen and you have to still know what's going on. And I'm no longer watching a monitor or able to listen. I'm running with the cameraman trying to find where we're going to go. And they stick a microphone in your face and they're like, okay, go. Like interview Tony after this really tough loss in the playoff and yeah, so that was a quick kind of baptism by fire of finding your footing in the golf reporting space. But it would all work out. It was great. Yeah, you mentioned earlier going to all this pageant stuff that you kind of had to be on. And you had to be on a lot of the time. I'm curious if that prepared you in any way to interview people, like you kind of have to be on. These golfers, they just play. They finished a 72 hole tournament, sometimes more than 72 holes, and suddenly there's a camera and a microphone in their face. They gotta be on again. I guess prepare you and where's that helped you? Look, I can totally relate in some way, shape or form to what those guys go through. You know, you're having a bad day. You really don't want to do that where you're tired or you just didn't play well or whatever. Whatever the pageant equivalent of that is, I certainly have those feelings, but as they say, life is a pageant. So you must be on. Say that? They say that. They say that, it's a thing. But it is. I mean, this is all this is in an entertainment product. It is a pageant, right? In some way, shape or form. People coming out, being their best selves trying to put their best foot forward in front of an audience. And it's very similar. So I can relate to them and understand them in a certain level, of course not to the level that they play golf at. But in terms of having to have that connection and that there's a much more professional golfer than just playing golf. And they have to be able to manage that and figure that out along with also being really, really good at something that's really, really hard..

"Then I go ham after that. It's like you guys won't talk to me again until August probably. Are you are you fatigued? Or is this your kind of catch your breath period time of year? Yeah. What was your kind of energy towards the end of this past golf season and actually are you actually getting a break? Yes. So this was my first year in this kind of full-time role doing a reporter gig for the golf channel for golf central. It was my main main job. And it was, I mean, just imagine you're learning everything new every week. There's new tournament directors, players, change, they are some people are in some people are out, all the staff, everything's constantly changing, and just the flow of how everything works. So every week was just kind of starting from scratch and learning all of that. So it's amazing. It's the best thing ever. But by the end of 9, 8 months of doing that, it's a little tiring, so at the end of the RSM was my last event. I was ready to go home. It was very happy to have a little. You take vacation? I mean, I'm on my vacation right now. I'm on ten days in New York. So I can't feel too bad for me because in the middle of all of that, I went to Hawaii for a month. So. Okay. All right, so you're doing okay. High end problems. High end problems in life. We didn't even really give you a full proper introduction there. But curriculum is a reporter for NBC and golf channel. "It's the PNC championship also. This is not a legacy maker break event. But there's Vijay Singh just hitting balls on the range. His son's there like his son is wrapped up his range session long since, but he's just kind of hanging around waiting for his dad. There's podrick Harrington hitting putts on the practice screen. It's just in these guys DNA. It's like I'm out of golf tournament. I'm gonna work through some things. Laid into the night, even though I've been doing this for decades and decades. So I think just that lifelong grinder mentality, that really stood out to me too. The PNC is it the 5th major, right? Gosh, this event now carries so much weight to it at the end of the season so long as Tiger Woods is playing. I think everyone had a lot of fun this year and I think that that's good. If Tiger is not playing, I mean, this is a real zero to 60 situation because look Tiger is he's the rising tide, right? And the boats need the tide because without him, without him, we're not watching. But with him, all these other guys get a lot more fun. I mean, Carl stenson was a riot. You know, and I don't see anyone hand wringing about exploiting Carl stenson for being a funny little Swedish kid with a nice long golf swing. The dailies get more entertaining. The entire situation just gets lifted up. Lee Trevino, seeing him interact with the Woods is on the range. You know, that's pretty cool and that's the situation that you obviously just don't get if you don't have the Woods. He did not want to discuss that by the way. Very less than zero interest in talking about private matters. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, is it the 5th major? I get the 5th major is whatever event Tiger Woods plays next. Or maybe whatever event Charlie Woods plays next to. But man, it was a great week. I was glad I was there. All right, well, that is enough PNC talk that is about 20 one minutes, more PNC talk than I was planning on us having a month ago, which is a victory for the PNC and this podcast. The brands, you know? No free ads, but PNC, man, you guys. You played this one right. They really have. The drop zone is not over though, because we have an interview with Kira K Dixon. Everyone's favorite golf channel report, at least, I think, so I think the drop zones favorite golf channel reporter, is that fair to say? Oh, we're biased. If you come on our show, boom, straight to the top. We don't ask for a whole lot, but we did ask for 25 minutes of Kira's time, something like that. She broke down her first year on the golf beat, meaning from the genesis invitational a couple days before Tiger's car crash, all the way through, gosh, the fall season. You know, it's kind of she kind of has a PGA Tour season, right? Kind of like PGA Tour players do. You go from event to event to event to event. And you kind of have to do the same thing every single week, but it's on a different and kind of new and you have to know a lot about the people around you. So she broke all of that down in a number of other things in an interview. Dylan, any other thoughts on that? Yeah, it was fun..

"But it's going to take time. Yeah. Well, I think an important part of that is he does host an event in late February, the genesis invitational at a tournament that I guess of course you can kind of you can get around by shooting 70s every single round. That will be I guess a spot on the calendar that people circle for now. Question number 5, Dylan. A lot of people play golf like me, yours truly, 8 handicap. I hit the ball two 65, two 70 off the T when I catch it pretty good. Would Charlie Woods beat me in 8 handicap who hits it like that. From the same tease, same tease. Yes. I mean, I added that tease question just to I mean, I don't know, maybe he could play a longer tea and still beat you. Yeah, he's really good. He's a low single digit handicapped golfer. You know, he was playing for maybe 6100 yards. He hit a lot of shots that were really close. He's hitting it maybe two 42 50 off the tee, but a lot of stuff is online. The wedges go the right distance. He hits quite a few wedges that stop inside ten feet. I mean, he's legit. It was interesting, though. Tiger said a couple weeks ago, he said it was nice to have some time to go watch Charlie play tournaments because Tiger had to figure out how he was shooting such high scores. I think that means, you know, rounds in the 80s. But it started a classic 12 year old thing where you haven't figured out everything about managing your game. He definitely has some of Tiger's hot temper, but Charlie loves it. I think that's one thing that I learned being there this year. There's so much hand wringing on the Internet about oh, is this too much or is that it's kind of this tired discourse already around Charlie? But Charlie loves watching highlight videos of himself afterwards. He's into it. And he doesn't play into the crowd. He doesn't he doesn't really wave he doesn't tip his cap. He doesn't really acknowledge anyone. He's in this little tunnel, which is great. But I think he gets a lot of joy still out of moving the needle and being in competition. One of my favorite things,.

"Crushing the ball by the way. He's hitting it definitely further than he ever has. Wow. But yeah, it's definitely something that tigers focused on. Let's move on. Question number four, this is probably the one that the most people care about, will Tiger Woods play a PGA Tour event in January. Oh no, he will not. All right, hold on. February. Well Tiger Woods play a PGA Tour event in February. No, you will not. How about March? Then we're talking bay hill. We're talking players. It's all smart. I don't think so. Valspar. Oh man. The folks in Tampa are cooking up some articles right now. I can just they're gonna be reading the tea leaves and thinking maybe there's a chance that Tiger heads over at innisbrook to make his debut there. This feels like another Tiger Woods masters debut year because he's sort of planted the flag that that's a place that he likes to make comebacks. He likes controlled environments. I mean, The Bahamas is extremely controlled. He literally owns the golf course and the tournament. He effectively owns this golf course and turn meant that we just played at two. Tiger, you are the captain now of the PNC. I mean, there's only 2500 people there. It's pretty limited. There was still like a frenzy around him. But he likes that control, even the little things. He always set up on the far left side of the range and only the right side of the range is accessible to the general public. So there's all these little things that you can control at these miniature privacy that you wouldn't really be able to have as much control over at, say, Torrey pines, or I mean, the players is a zoo, man. That's a great golf tournament, but if that's the first time you're really gonna play stroke play golf, do you really wanna take the risk that you're gonna hit three balls in the water on 17?.

"With one of my buddies who's, you know, like, probably a two handicap about this. And we're trying to, we were like, what would we shoot in this thing? Because it's just the relentlessness of it that makes it so difficult. It's one thing in a four man scramble. If you have four good players in a four man scramble, you're gonna birdie every single hole you're gonna make some eagles. There's a lot of leeway there, but in a two man scramble, there's this weird pressure that exists because once your partner hits a bad shot, it's all on you. It's almost more difficult than if you're just playing your own ball. So I think that you really need two players playing around scratch to even have a prayer of getting to that number, and even then you need to make putts like you can't rely on three other people, like you would in your charity scramble. They played a 5 man scramble for the pro am on Friday. And that's certainly a more forgiving format. I think that you really need at least a plus handicap paired with someone that's playing close to scratch or at least at least hits the equivalent of good shots of a close to scratch player. Hitting it to 30 feet is doesn't do your favorite useless. Yeah. So I mean, that becomes the pressure on Charlie. Hey, here's a 160 yard par three. Here's a 175 yard part three. You got to hit it to where we can make birdie from. And he was able to do that and that's what stood out. Question number three is nothing to do with Charlie. It is what one aspect of Tiger's game was the most impressive or surprising. Those might be two different questions. Impressive and surprising. But you went down there knowing you were going to see him hit a bunch of shots. Riding a cart for most of the time. And you're going to probably use going to show some rust. He's going to show some brilliance. That's kind of the Tiger MO. But what was most impressive or surprising about his game? Yeah, so I'll start with most impressive and that is just the way he looks with a wedge in his hand. The distance control that has always been his best and also most underrated trait is still there. I mean, he's hitting. If he's hitting a 120 yard wedge shot, you wouldn't necessarily know that anything has changed from crazy. Two years ago, which is crazy. So that looks really good. And by the way, Charlie definitely has that too. I don't know if it's DNA thing and osmosis thing if Tiger has drilled that into him, but his wedge distance control, that's what stands out. I think what was most surprising to me was that tigers hitting driver way harder than I expected. On number ten or sorry, number 13 is this almost drivable par four John Daly's kid lipped out for a hole in one in a practice round. So if you're a big hitter, you can get there. And it was downwind and the T's were up yesterday. So Tiger actually hit driver. He waited for a while, hit this kind of high, slice. He's struggling to not hit it Healy or chunky, like driver was a little inconsistent for him. But he hit this ball that ballooned a little bit out to the right. He said it was kind of weak and spinny. That's what he told his buddy rob after he hit it. And I saw later on the broadcast, he'd hit one 74 ball speed on that..

"Feet and you're thinking, okay, he's just on a different level and then that tweet from it was either daily rappaport or it was dealing with a chair where they said like Charlie Woods hasn't smiled in an hour and a half during the back 9 when he was hit dart after dark after dark. That kid is laser locked in focus. That comes from exactly what we've seen from Tiger Woods. You know why we're going to compare the two because he's miniature Tiger Woods. He's got the same fucking DNA, the same outfit, the same manner as the same golf shots. Of course, we're gonna compare the two. Charlie Woods made the driving the golf ball look like the easiest thing in the world. He made it look like it's like getting out of bed in the morning. I couldn't wrap my head around every time he stepped up to a T and lace the ball. It was perfect and I don't like did he hit a bad one all week or in the two days. I don't think so. Couple like short, right, maybe he like, you know what? A lot of the ones that he wishes that he could do right now even though he's 12 is like those two 65 in the fairway shots on the par 5s that daddy was going after. He wishes like he's at that level. You could see it in his fucking head that he's like, why can't I hit this three wood on this green right now? It was just coming up like short right. And you could see the fire in him being like, I can't wait to just grow and just be better and bigger. Like, I can't wait to win every golfer I've ever played it. And you know what? The expectations and all of this stuff that we're putting on the kid, we wouldn't be doing this if he wasn't playing the PNC championship wearing and what Rick said before just made me chuckle. He's wearing the same outfit as his dad who's the greatest governor of all time..

"And he's like, look, and he showed me his idea. I was like, holy fuck, yeah. You're junior. I don't know why someone would make that up. But he's the coolest guy of all time. Really good group of friends too. You could just tell that they were just like really into sports and music. And we talked to him for an hour before the show and after the show and just a great family of the lavas, Trent daddy met his daughters at the chicks in the office live show. Yeah, they came to Caroline's in New York for the chicks in the office live show. Met him after the show could not have been nicer people. It was just the most perfectly raised children just so polite and thankful and just into the into everything that we were doing. It was so much fun and the fact that he's going to be there. He's going to be on Charlie's bag. It's amazing. So, yeah, it's a feel good event. It's really good. And if you have any sort of negativity trying to knock down any aspect of it, grow up dude. Grow up. Kick rocks. Joel coffin is one of the greatest people on this planet. I've never met a nicer guy on the planet. I can not be more happy for that guy. I can not be more happy for his son. I can't be more happy for Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods. What a fucking time to be alive. This guy could be a great, it's gonna be a great weekend. He was just going through the craziest shit ever 8 months ago. And now he's just laying in the grass. Enjoying fucking golf. Beautiful. Trifecta nutrition. So tigers obviously come back. He's come back healthy. He's going to, you know, he's done that his whole life. He's looked good. He's been fit. He's been one of the great athletes in the history of the world. "Goods has got them. So nomad goods dot com slash four, go check that out. Okay, P and C this week at Tiger Woods Charlie Woods, I was thinking this morning a little bit about like what really are we expecting from Tiger Woods? In fact, like what is what is going to kind of make or break, I guess this experience this weekend because I think more than likely Tiger Woods is going to come out. He's going to be about what everybody expected. He's going to hit good shots. It's like a scramble with his kid where he's going to hit shots further off the teeth and Tiger is just like he did last time. So I was trying to think like, what's really going to stand out or what could stand out from Tiger over these two days this weekend? And the biggest thing I was thinking about was the distance that his driver goes, 'cause I think you could base pretty much everything off of that. If Tiger shows up, and his swing speed is one O 5, and he's hitting it two 55 off the T, I think that's going to be, okay, he really is a ways away from being able to come back, now if he comes out and it's like, I guess drivers not full speed. He's not he's not swinging at a 120 or a 118 miles an hour club head speed. But he's swinging one 15, one 13 he's hitting it two, 82, 75 to 90, you know, carry off the tee and it's rolling out some and rolling out to 303 ten. Then I think it's gonna be, oh this guy's this guy's just pretty much there. If he gets four more months, AKA the master's tournament and he's already come this far in the last month or two of hitting balls, right? Because he hasn't sog he's been hitting balls for 9 months, the accident was 9, ten months ago. He's probably only been hitting balls for three or four weeks, max, maybe a month and a half, 5 weeks max..

"It's crazy. That's amazing. Really impressive and very cool. Now T data, you were, I want to say, were you 60 or 70%, but then went up to almost 90% for Augusta? What do you think now? I don't know if I would change anything for me. No, me either. I think really. Well, I mean, what was that last show? 95% after we talked it through, so I think I'm pretty much in the same boat because there's always a chance he just doesn't play and you know he decides he's not ready or whatever. But I mean, the overwhelming opinion I would imagine is that he's gonna play at Augusta. Yeah, I think so. I mean, it's just very exciting. He's gonna have a tea in the ground here and just two weeks. We're gonna be watching him hit like irons into greens and having big pots and high fiving with Charlie and just they're gonna come out in the red and black again on Sunday. The whole thing is just it's just gonna happen next week. I just need to make it to next weekend now. You played the PNC to witness this on television. You play the PNC almost died and is playing the PNC again. He didn't miss it. He's like, he's just there in the record book. It's just gonna be that he played every year during this stretch. He's just, he was just there and played golf with his son. So I tweeted out yesterday, will Tiger Woods play in the 2022 masters and it got 4300 votes. 53%, yes. That he will play in the masters. 47% saying no. So I mean it's pretty close to 50 50 for the general public. That's a lot of votes from golf fans on our Twitter. So I thought the number for yes would be higher. Yeah, same. It's a little close to 1550 50. My motherfuckers play in the masters. I'm sorry. He's playing the master's tournament. How is he not going to play the master tournament? They got the walrus fucking plays the masters and you're telling me Tiger Woods who just won the tournament two years ago is not gonna play in the master's tournament. He doesn't want to be embarrassed, man. It's all about how people perceive them. If he doesn't think that he can compete, he's not gonna play in it. He's only gonna play when he thinks he can win. This PNC is a good step though. Yeah, but also he's driving the car and he's hitting the shots of Charlie. Get him back out there in front of you. This is all about Charlie. Let's not forget about this. This is the reason why he's doing the Tiger Woods. The Tiger Woods killer assassin winning tournament after tournament every single week is not worrying about playing golf at the PNC with his son. You know what I mean? Like this is a new Tiger Woods that is doing this for his son to get out there and have fun and show the world their relationship and how good his son is and it's a memory thing. This has nothing to do with his skill or him trying to win tournaments. Let's just, that's a fact. I think that's wrong. Thank you. I was sneaking over to the back of the driving range all week to hit balls. Like he wasn't doing that so that Charlie Woods would just think that he looks cool on TV..
