"Get three. You get three possible wins against the other team says nine hospital wins just in the division. It might be what eighteen total. I think there's been less than twenty. Would you go over. Twenty for wins in this division. It's very good bet. The titans i mean they had a great win against the seahawks that big comeback but they got blown out at home by the cardinals in a way week. One not law lose at home. When you're a playoff season that ever kobe weird and it was like no. This is actually suck. No they actually yeah. Chandler jones had five sacks. And guess what it wasn't just because of the freak thing like quilliam was having a day. Last-ditch quincy william sue. I don't know i. I don't see many wins in this division commute. Let let's go. Let's go team by team. Really quick indie there under his eight and a half if they lose this ravens game today. They're going to be one in four. I think best case scenario eight wins for them. Jacksonville thereof under six and a half. They're not getting if they get four wins. It'll be a miracle houston even. If taylor comes back. I don't see more than three or four max And then tennessee. I guess it'd be the wildcard but they. They've already started the season off with such an injury bang. Sometimes that just infects the team. That's a really hard schedule. Coming up. avenue agra's game home bills home At colts at ribs home saints roof. I think that i think the under over unders less than twenty for this division. Some into watch remember that. Nfc west season so well. Because i think sunday night football as like we're going with it's going to be rams seahawks and you had like either madden or collins. Twitter was and it was like literally like charlie whitehurst versus sean hill on a week. Seventeen sunday night. Game and i was like for marvels that has as much money in that game. Down must won the suit. I had a chance to be top five super contests that right and you bet. Yeah the last. That was the last one. And charlie whitehurst who look like jesus. He wondered me. Yeah be one. You look good a church It's more stayaways. Brown's chargers browns are getting two and a half. there's some baker mayfield is has a partially toward left labor and but he's fine start affect them. It's like no i. I've had parsley toward labor. Laborem hit affects you. It hurts when you sleep. It hurts when you roll over. It hurts anything. you don't feel right. You definitely know we get hit on it. She got that front You have a chargers run defense. That's abominable it sit right down a plastic. Stop the raiders last week. But it's been horrible until who but who they stop. the raiders. jacobs was there but like he. I insureds jacobs suburbs. They've allowed the fourth buzz rushing yards this year Cleveland is third. db away. They've allowed the third least rushing yards. And this is just a weird game. Staying away i wanted. I wanted to take the chargers. I was excited about it. I just.

"He covered cooks but then he could also like you could put them on. Travis kelsey yep you know. He was all over the a really special patriot. And i think one one of the three or four biggest reasons. They won that ramp super bowl and were able to get through that she skipped so anyway. There you go. So we're little slightly weird moved by the pats but as you said it was leaning toward the locker went on without an extension was leaning there and i keep an eye on him. Everyone thinks it's going to snap after week. Six of like the patriots medical staff. They're in it every day. And they're monitoring it. Let's see how healthy he is. I'm sure he'll play but like let's see if he's ever what he was. And maybe the patriots elect. Let's get something for nothing. We'll say and they kind of weirdly like this jalen mills that are the eagles fans headed. They lead green goblin that yeah. Jc jackson was able to cover number one guys so all right so we have. Vikings pats tampa is seven half-point. Teas the only other team. I just wanted to mention was dallas giants. I think we're staying away from this game but dallas. I think is going to be teased by a lotta people. Dallas offenses ridiculous. If you actually compare their offense threw for three or four games versus the chiefs touchdowns. First downs yards per pass rushing per attempt. Pretty even with interesting is. The giants aren't bad either. Now there is throwing pray eight yards a pass They're rushing barkley set. The first time barkley looked kind of like kamara as barclay last week. You're down here's down. Eleven seven minutes ago. We're gonna line him up wide and he beats marcus williams and lattimore in that that little route that he did like. Did you watch. Could area's tony dancing around players and do it all that stuff. Like he was like barry gallo john. Ross beat somebody deeply. And they've got eighty receivers have a impact running back. I don't trust dana. Johnson big game. Douse d nine takeaways. That's a red flag. I think this is a complete stayaway. Cannoli tees and i don't really want to put the giants in the dark partly either. I think we just stay away. We watched us knowing the last seven minutes. Regulation an overtime. The giants offense looked absolutely unstoppable. And they got the defensive stops they needed. And i can tell you that like coming out of that game. There's a good feeling for the giants. Like oh we can do this. Let's go one in three. And that's what they do. They dig themselves into these holes and judge has not lost team. He has no so we'll see well and also they have to win this game because then have to they'd be civilian four games behind dallas and the division. There's going to play off teams in vision other stay ways. I really wanted a bad tennessee and jacksonville tennessee's foreign minus four nap in jacksonville with other urban meyer staff and salad. I have certainly be joking. About how long. This urban meyer thing is gonna last compared to rob burger all that stuff. I can't get there with tennessee. There is so bad last week. Uber's so this is a day for as though it's like wow. How do we not bet against jacksonville this thing. Trevor lawrence look really good last week on thursday night like with really good and they lost that game and there are some bad decisions. Should've kicked a field goal or gone for it Or just try to you know at the end of the half last week and then they went for it got stopped and then everything happened. But titans have no pass rush. Their special teams player is like the number to pass rusher. They've got bad kicker bad polluters banged up receivers their to their entire offensive. Line is banged up. I think three fifths of their offensive line is banged up And trevor lawrence. I'd be the best in the field on sunday. I just anyway when and budget the jags bed of quit on urban meyer this week now. Trying to just be a k. If we quit on this guy this week baby the fire. Maybe there's the other part of like. I don't know we could talk about the urban thing. Yeah with nubia woody got. I don't know the media's up in arms about it and it's a weird video and like he's gotta answer those questions at home and all that stuff and probably like i dunno. I saw people on. Espn my crying about it. Like i don't know he didn't indeed an assault. Anybody know like this is his own personal life and it's not a great look but these guys are professional players. I don't know if they're i can't play for this man after that like i don't know i don't know if he loses the team based on this video doesn't sound like he was winning. Team new begins at some point. It's like every every little piece doesn't do. Yeah not a great look. I'll tell you that. But i also don't know of trevor lawrence. Suddenly he's like not gonna play his best because of it. If that makes any sense kyle turn the camera on. Turn it on. Turn it on. I could see the sun the ring or social this. Afc south could this be the worst division of all time. I remember a few years ago. I remember Reading a piece about the nfc west must have been like ten years ago. I was back in. Dc for dune hosted pti. Week with. tony. I know that i was reading of football. Yeah it was like. Oh nine charlie. Whitehurst was the occur and it was like. Wow what happens if like. Nobody's better than seventy nine. Should we changed rules and in that column. I had a whole thing about. If you can't finish five hundred you don't get to make the playoffs and then other people. That's too harsh. Maybe it should be so they bukit say for seventy game season. Maybe it should be eight nine if you but if you can't go eight nine there has to be some cutoff where you just can't make it in the reserve this up of the afc south. Is anyone going eight nine in this division. The the titans have. I've lost to the jets and they're like the power of the division freight they're the class of the division. Does that wilson i. i'm with you. i don't know like the colts. Have carson wentz two sprained ankles. They're already missed a bunch of people. And i'm not sure they're good anyway. I just think anyone yet. Texans jags texans are the worst league. The jags are in this incredible coaching quagmire and they weren't built to win this year anyway. And it's just like you might add up the winds for this division at.

"He's just because he doesn't care what people think about him. He's able to be disciplined one hundred percent of the time and dictate basically dictate the coverage that we use to to kind of report on the team. It's extremely fascinating and how he's gone about. The press conferences are seen by everybody in your building. Not just your players. The other coaches everything. It's okay this is reviewing this week. My favorite one. I've told the story a couple of times. Chuck pagano gonen last week. We had no quarterbacks andrew luck died that week that year matt hasselbeck also died charlie whitehurst. He died. somebody else died. So we had no quarterbacks going into the final weekend our final game we had no playoffs online either funding funding to find that out. Either as well so it was a game. That was like okay. we don't have. We're going into a game with no quarterback. We have no hope. Let's go ahead and enjoy this. Chuck's big thing was hey. Listen we're gonna win. We're going to get a win this what we're going to do. We're going to end this thing in his press conference. He was asked about the quarterback situation. Because at that time they had even signed a quarterback. This is tuesday games on sunday. We have no quarterbacks healthy on the roster said you know. We're we're putting some things together here. We're going to give pat mcafee. Maybe a package. And i was watching. I was like what the fuck you. Oh you okay. I just saw three quarterbacks. Die out there i. There is no chance so the next day literally were walking in the hallway. And i'm just like looking at him like you have something to say to me. you know. he's good more battling. hey we're going to win chuckling. Classic like upbeat on mike. And what was that quarterback. Thank you joe. Like joe fries. I thought there was a listen now. It's time for you to play quarterback something like that but it was those press conferences set the tone for everybody who we we ended up with. Freemen adjust freeman josh finley. I remember that he was on the team at some point. I don't know if it was him at that time though but one of them the two minute i think it was freeman learned. The two minute learned just the opposite so the two minute. I did by the way i did that week. Hurt like the whole idea. Actually a couple you know. Full thing and i was like he's if you just run into whatever. Don't worry about we need somebody to take the snap or whatever. And that's when i realized that thing. Oh man like men like the punter third fourth quarter shoes to kate by the way. It's because you know cadence potentially having to take snap the quarterback center i. I've been doing that college. They had me do a couple of those too so like i know what i get it. I'm not gonna fumble it. Hopefully maybe they just but if that ever happens by the way and it happened. I think for paul who was a quarterback and then he ended up putting like the darius butler's on the team and like the other guys who are the best athletes on the world. Whatever one or two series. I assume somebody's going to be like i don't think you can. Maybe put me in shotgun. i could just. Maybe i assume it wouldn't last long when chuck said at fucking lost it yet. We won that game. Though by the world's we won that game that we did you. Yeah pretty sure we won that week. Somehow it was insane and he was playing for the What's that island in new york. That doesn't get talked statin. I was like the staten island. Something it was some amateur football team. He was playing like two or three weeks. Before and one of the quarterbacks was in chunks like we want with the fucking staten island. Go ahead time rap. She i think it was. Nfl network. You were saying that you don't think there's going to be any resolution in the roger situation until like the end of july is that just what packers fans should expect now and i can kind of tune it out because i think a lot of people assume that we at least get some information from the gulf event on july six. But nothing's going to happen until late july. No matter what yeah. That's just my read on the situation. I mean i'm. I'm watching the gulf and first of all. That course looks amazing. Second of all like there's going to be some funny stuff like know they're not going to take it easy on rogers which i appreciate so that will be fun but he seems to be enjoying his summer. He seems to really like not having to do football things. If there is going to be a resolution it's gonna be so. He's not going to want to do anything packer related. I don't think until right before training camp. And plus like there's no reason to come to an agreement or fix anything at all now because there's no deadline. Same reason that you know. The players who are franchise tag could deals like very few happen. Now they will happen like july fourteenth. Because there's kind of no deadline. There's no reason to do so for me. Through the summer tune in right before camp and see what the resolution so then aaron tell us last didn't start until july or something. Yeah something like that. Yeah he said something about. He didn't throw until july. And i think early in our conversations with aj. Aaron aj made a joke at aaron. Felt like an inside joke. So let me go ahead and try to dissect here where there was a quarterback throwing. It wasn't this year it was like maybe last year two years ago. Somebody was doing at work out on a beach. I don't remember those lamar when he was out there when he jumped over. That jet ski or whatever is going to touch. I don't know if it was tom doing something on any of the other potential quarterbacks overthrown ball beach at the time in aj. Aaron a question about the time when they were throwing im- basically mock like aaron not liking to throw for certain times. I think we aren't potentially. I don't. I don't know if we were in it for the entire thing because he would come back for. Ot as i soon but last year. I think he got his first real chance to do like what he probably had always wanted to do with his time off. And then a lead up and then kind of do his own thing and he said he felt better and he's ever felt like i'm on our percents. Sure he missed any football that he would normally have like in his mind although otas do serve quite a purpose and a point. I think swelling wise. He told us he won't start until july or something last year. And i was reminded that on somebody that tweeted us the video lake. Hey he said this. Last year i forget who it was. I appreciate you tweet me that. So that kind of adds a whole nother turn this. Twist of this would've erin literally wasn't listening to any of the hype that was going on. He was oblivious to everything is that is that potentially what happened. Not well first. Of all. I remember last year when we were going through. The sort of what's the nfl cova. What's the season if i remember correctly. I'm tom fellow. Sarah told me this reminded me of this. So who knows how accurate is. But he's saying that. Roger was pushing for a really late start of i think training camp like didn't want to start any training until like late july. Like at all. Like i think it sounded like that's where he was kind of most comfortable. Which just not doing anything. Which is one of the best players to ever do it. So if that's good for him then. I think that's he should probably. He should probably keep doing that but i would imagine. He's hearing all of it just knowing how much he cares about this stuff i would imagine. He's he's hearing all of it not caring at all probably laughing at a lot of us. He knows so much more than we do about the situation like. We're all else to talk about the world spending time doing he. Meanwhile he's picking out great t shirts to wear for his great emotional dray shirt. Great line in the middle of that virtual press conferences. Well can't wait to watch and see what he says and see what we make of it because there's probably going to be nothing else to talk about there and There was a little bit of a news yesterday..

"Was going through and researching the events of Carson Wentz career and that was reminded that in 2016, the Eagles to trade up To be able to draft, Carson Wentz, I was like, huh? So what team had the number two overall pick and said, we don't want Carson Wentz. We don't want that starting quarterback. We don't want that quarterback. We're going to trade down. And the team who made that trade, who didn't want Carson Wentz was the Cleveland Browns. And I thought that's kind of weird, you know, at the time and 2016 during cars a year, The quarterbacks, the Browns had were Terrelle Pryor, Charlie Whitehurst, Cody Kessler, Kevin Hogan, RG3 and Josh. McCown, like, they couldn't use the franchise quarterback. Sure. But they didn't want Carson Wentz. And at the time in 2016. I mean we can talk about hindsight now but in 2016, I wonder how Cleveland Browns fans felt when they had, you know, Kevin Hogan, take long naps and they could have drafted Carson Wentz. I wonder what the mindset was like back then. I want to be clear. This you know this topic is not intended to make fun of Cleveland. It's intended to point out how bizarre a number of things are. And yet the fact that it's still worked out pretty well for Cleveland. So, the Browns passed on Carson, Wentz, they needed a quarterback, but they didn't want Carson. And then the next year in the, 2017 NFL draft, the brown said the number one, overall, pick a number 12 overall pick. They drafted Myles Garrett. A defensive end number one overall. They could have drafted Patrick Mahomes number that were all they didn't and then they traded the number 12, picked a Houston and she was too and drafted quarterback DeShaun Watson. So, it's wild. A real statement you can actually say, is that in a two-year span, the Browns passed on Carson, Wentz, Patrick Mahomes and DeShaun Watson. They said we don't want any of those guys is our franchise quarterback, which is pretty, it's wild. It just seems like to me in 2016 or 2017, the Browns. Just did not want a franchise quarterback. They're like, nah, that's a good not interested. Now, in 2018 and all worked out, they drafted Baker, Mayfield number one overall, and looking back. Again, it worked out very well because Carson Wentz is coming off a really bad year in 2022. Sean Watson has legal trouble. Pat Mahomes was not ready to play like Patrick Mahomes could have gone number one overall to Cleveland, but he needed to sit for a while. And if Mahomes went to Cleveland and not Kansas City, I don't know that he'd be the massive star that he has..

"Yeah, it was a screen and a nice job, thereby I believe it was the right guard who got out in front. Got a huge block that freed up Lucy so much. He saw the man in man coverage and sensible. Lucy caught the ball behind the line. That line was able to get out and get some great blocks down the field. Shotgun, Lawrence pump fake to us, Right? Here comes some heat hit is he throws looking for Rogers to their sideline, mist of eggs out of bounds and incomplete. I see a paucity was applying the most close up pressure on that will bring up third down here for Clemson. Some point. Gotta get Trevor Lords here after the game up, Big boy. Shot goes snap. Hands it off. Lucy running left side Get through a whole on 2nd 10. So now it is third down at the 20 yard line four. 20 our line of Notre Dame Trevor Laurence with 294 passing yards now passes Charlie Whitehurst. Third most career passing yards and clubs in history tonight. The stack of records is well over the top of my head now for Trevor Laurence. Probably a few more to come here is he's got a few games left. 31 23 Clemson 11 20 to go in the fourth empty backfield Shovel pass for Galloway sniffed out and dropped his Galloway. After crossing the line of scrimmage by A de Melora. So that'll bring up fourth down here. Tigers are in field goal range leading 31 23 One small note of a adjustment clumps that has made as they've moved Walker Parks,.

"In particular. So that's obviously a problem. Carson Wentz has not played well. He doesn't look confident. He's still trying to do too much. It just hasn't happened for him. He hasn't been accurate. Decision making has been off. He has a propensity to hold the ball far longer than he should and hopes of making some incredible play. That just isn't there this year. Um, and then I think there's things they could do systematically to help him. More. They don't run the ball for us. Well as they run the ball, I often come away, shocked that they did not run it more. Um, you saw that in a pot? It's not a you know, it's it's not Ebola's chili that you really want to eat. All the ingredients are kind of off, saying all that As you noted, in the NFC least, anything's possible. They just don't seem to be a team. You know that they come out of there by they get pretty healthy. You think? OK, now we're going to see the real Eagles and then they lay a couple eggs. Maybe that's just who the real Eagles are this year. Yeah, And that division like have you have you recalled? I mean, I haven't done the number matching up. Have you recalled a sorrier division? And where not only not only is the winner gonna almost certainly be under 500, but where, like everybody is of the same ilk. Yeah, I mean, look, the NFC West About 10 years ago or so was really bad. And you know you had what the Seahawks would Charlie Whitehurst playing in the playoffs, and I mean, I don't know if you remember the Rams won it one that division at like 78 and one I don't recall that year thinking any time anybody from the NFC West Played anybody outside the NFC West that they were going to get absolutely pasted that they were probably going to be at least two touchdown and more underdog and that they really had no shot. That's been the case for the NFC East this year That's been their reality. Goes stove sort of Pula Pula part wins outside the division. The record outside the division is horrific. It Z. It doesn't seem possible. And even when they beat teams outside the division, you know a couple of beat up on the Bangles because they match up with that division this year. I mean, when you look at quality wins I don't see any. I mean, I really don't and the most impactful wins again have been their games against each other. Which we see all the time because those are big market teams that end up In a lot of national windows. But none of them are good football teams. Um No, I don't. I don't know that I've seen anything quite distracted before. Let's go to the other end of the spectrum. Obviously, we've seen a lot of the season. Now you remember two thirds the way through. How many teams do you think have differentiated themselves to the point where you you look at them and you say all right, those were the highest class teams. This is a Super Bowl, You know, content. Maybe that super contending teams as far as the teams that could possibly get there is larger, but the ones that you feel really good about as potential Super Bowl winners. How many teams would you put in that group? Well, I would only put three teams and like my true tops here. You know Pittsburgh, Kansas City and in New Orleans. I think they have been the most consistent. They have found ways to win even when it's not necessarily the way they originally scripted it up. Um, I think there A bit of a different class. And then there's a whole bunch of teams, you know, in sort of the middle class or the upper middle class. Maybe if you if you call it that, um you know that to me would be like the green base. Tennessee. Uh Yes. I don't think I could quite put Tampa there. Um You know, maybe maybe made a buffalo. You know, I'd put four maybe 3 to 5 teams and that and that here, we're sort of best of the rest. And then after that, there's probably about seven or eight teams where I don't know that anything separate someone any given day? Anything can happen. A lot of it will depend on who's available. Do the cove it? You know, the margins are slim, but that's the Browns. You know, the Colts had put the Ravens in there. Put a bunch of teams. I put you out on that second tier. But I probably have Arizona on San Francisco in the third tier. There probably be eight teams or so in that if we went all the way through it, and then it's everybody else. Who's just, you know, playing out the strength. You mentioned Tampa there quickly and and pause for a second. What are your thoughts on the whole situation there and in any of the You know speculation around a Bruce Arians Tom Brady spat If you will. Well, it's not. It's not going swimmingly. I mean, I don't know who would try to make the argument that it is It would be pure spin NPR someone did. It hasn't been a fit. That does not to say that things can't change. But it has to change right now. I mean, if they come out of this by and it's three vertical vertical routes all the time. It's a bunch of 50 50 Go routes. It's jump balls. It's uh Not an emphasis on the screen game, not an emphasis on the on the short, intermediate passing game. If they can't find somebody in the run game who can catch balls out in space and actually get some yards after the catch? Then the same problems will arise. And there's going to be is I've been reporting is so uncomfortable conversations come 2021 if they can't recalibrate on the fly if they don't Change up there. They're tendencies more within games and from week to week if there isn't more of an emphasis on game planning for specific opponents. That's all the stuff Tom Brady's used to. It's not like it's gonna be all times where the highway but right now, to a lot of advance scouts to a lot of people in that building into a lot of people who have played the position. It certainly seems like it's been pretty much Bruce Arians way or the highway to this point, and maybe they find some middle ground. If they don't, then they're gonna have to certainly figure some things out in the off season because neither of these guys eyes going to be around more than another year two. And they're they're in wind now mode as much as any team in the NFL. Jason Appreciate your time and insight this morning, man. Thank you. My pleasure. Have a good day. Thank you. "Is never really ceases to amaze me, and I'm a huge NBA fan myself when we got to get a little bit more. Into this weekend's football game specifically as well. Is that the big picture situation going on with the NFL and how they've handled it thus far this year, and I could do that now, with our guest Jason Locke and four up CBS Sports NFL Insider and Jason before we get to some of the on field stuff, and I wanted to get your thoughts on The big picture NFL season. Roger Goodell talked about this at halftime and the Steelers Ravens game and obviously that game got postponed a lot, and I've been critical of the NFL over the years. In many instances, I think I think they deserved it Many instances. I've seen a lot of criticism thrown their way about this season that I don't quite understand. Given the circumstances. We all know the circumstances were bad. And if you had told me the season would go the way it has before it started, I would have been surprised by their quote unquote success. So how do you think the NFL has handled The current circumstances. I think it's been, miraculously honestly that they got through a basically a six week Preseason without playing exhibition games, but still having people in the building for that long and now we're three months into the season over a quarter of the way through. Regular season and they haven't had to cancel again. They haven't had to. We're mean. Play the whole games to this point. As of right now, it looks like we're gonna play. All the games this week and Right. You look at what's going on in this country who looked at what's going on in a lot of these individual communities where they're playing these games. It's astounding to me, um It's not perfect. Nothing's perfect. Um There's issues, obviously, with Um Rosters in certain instances, but that's not going to stop them from playing these games and that was made clear. When everybody signed onto the sort of overriding changes to the C B. A that were made that the players voted on that the players agreed to that the owners agreed to, um that's the new reality for this year. It's going to take some uncomfortable situations, and some teams are going to be in situations. That they would rather not be in, Um I don't know what tomorrow holds. None of this necessarily Paice, the NFL, you know, clean slate a house or clean enough Slater House tomorrow or next week or by the Super Bowl. But to this point um it's work in a way that I personally didn't think it would be possible. Why do you think that is? What do you think they've done? Well, that that has led to that. Well, they certainly been willing to adjust it be malleable. I mean, were you recall the original agreement? Back in August was talking about testing. You know, every three days, and I remember talking to Troy Vincent. Dr Allen Stills, that chief medical officer back then saying Really like. You would be willing to go every other day or three out of seven days in certain windows and not on game day. And at that point, you know, they felt like that was the way to go and Obviously, things kept happening in baseball and other sports and around the country. And I remember asking them then. Well, let's just say hypothetically, I had to test every day because I think you're probably gonna end up testing every day. Do you have the budget for that? Do you have the testing capacity for that? Do you have The machines, enough sufficient machines and people to actually administer this. And they said, Absolutely, and I knew at that point, that's where it would be going, and that's where it's gone. And then they weren't testing on game day, and now they are and now they're closed. Basically, it's down to a two day work week. Now I mean, in terms of actual practices. Guys in the building and Mass as you would normally expect him to be. You know, Monday and Tuesday or all virtual now and basically around the league. Um, you know, Saturday's You don't do a whole lot Fridays or walk through. I mean, it's really down this Would have to be Wednesday and Thursday in particular and most, but in most places, it will be where you're limited to your practice window and having guys interact like they normally would, I think A lot of it is also hats off to the NFLPA tats off two veteran leaders and all these locker rooms. Hats off to most coaches. Some certainly haven't Applied these protocols the way they should, and some of them have been fined and punished, etcetera. But I think by and large has been a lot of positive peer pressure that has led the vast majority of these guys. To make individual sacrifices to make lifestyle sacrifices. Um And to follow these protocols to a T. In order to try to get through this season. Robin Lundberg talking to Jason Locke and for a CBS sports NFL insider here on CBS Sports Radio. Let's move on the field. The Philadelphia Eagles may be the biggest storyline from this week. If you go back to earlier in the week before that Ravens Steelers game was ultimately played. And, ah lot of talk about their quarterback. A lot of talk about their coach this week, even their GM What do you think is is the biggest reason for their struggles Right now, Jason, or their their lack of performance relative to you know expectations in such a poor division. Well, I don't know what the biggest reason is, but there's a lot of things that air um Sort of congealing and coming together and overlapping to create a situation that's Become pretty untenable. For them is an offensive football team. I think there's issues with the roster, you know, do they have wide receivers that kind of wide receivers that you'd ideally like to have? I think the answer that's probably no. Um you've had a lot of injuries to the offensive line and tight end in particular. It's not a you know, it's it's not A bowl of chili that you really want to eat. Yeah, And that division like have you have you were called? I mean, I haven't done the number matching up. Have you recalled a sorrier division? And where not only not only is the winner gonna almost certainly be under 500, but where, like everybody is of the same ilk. Yeah, I mean, look, the NFC West About 10 years ago or so was really bad. And you know you had what the Seahawks would Charlie Whitehurst playing in the playoffs, and I mean, I don't know who them or the Rams won that one that division at like 78 and one I don't recall that year thinking any time anybody from the NFC West played anybody outside the NFC West that they were going to get absolutely pasted that they were probably going to be at least a touchdown and more underdogs. And that they really had no shot. That's been the case for the NFC East. This year. That's been their reality. You go stove sort of peel peel apart winds outside the division. Which we see all the time because those are.

Top market money or top ten money or top twenty months, whatever you deem is being the range with which you know, he needs to be paid. If you're not comfortable paying him there. And you think that you have another alternative that will give your team a chance both short term in long-term to be better. Then I'm all for the go ahead and do it. Go ahead. That's fine. I'm just saying as an overall blanket philosophy to say once a quarterback reaches upper echelon status, you just gotta let them go ahead and walk down the road and find the next guy because of this will hamstring your team as far as you being able to get other guys..

"I with draft picks. They do have Brady. It's always a pleasure to have you on. I mean, I certainly if we have more developments in the Russell Wilson situation. I will certainly have you back on I agree with you. I think it just the logical thing to play out the way that I think we both expect Russell Wilson to sign a big deal to maybe thirty five million dollars a year. You know, the quarterback's you brought up. I think about that. I think about the move they're making pre Russell Wilson. I would be willing to pay thirty five million dollars a year to not go back to Charlie Whitehurst. And Matt Flynn is my quarterback options such just me. Yeah. I don't think you're low. They're north thing allowed on that Bill. You know, April fifteenth is the deadline, right? But you know, the question I'm asking myself is okay. Well, what if the Seahawks come to him in June? You know with the deal that he's wanted all along, you know, when he turned that down on principle, or you know, what if they're making really good progress. They haven't had to deal done by fifteenth. But you know, Wilson side feels like they're making really good progress would be he'd be open to extending that negotiating window. So, you know, fifteenth we heard that's the deadline, but I wouldn't rule up. Awesome -bility that if they're if they feel like they're making good progress that something gets done, you know, after that at some point this offseason. Absolutely. Well Brady where can people check out more of you were covering the Seahawks? Yeah, it's just at Brady Anderson on Twitter and then on Facebook is at Brady Henderson ESPN. I think there's only like, you know, twenty or thirty people that follow my Facebook page and one of them. I think my mom. So if you follow me on Facebook, you could join very select company.

"And you know, they remember back in in the early years of the p Carroll John Schneider era, when it was, you know, it was Charlie Whitehurst who they paid the money to in a trade the chargers, and and you know, they had Matt Hasselbeck for one year. But then it was Charlie Whitehurst. And then it was you know, Matt Flynn, it's just so hard to find that guy. I know that's an such an obvious point. But I think ultimately that's going to prevail. Just because they know what they have in Wilson. And they know how far how hard it would be even with a really good roster around him. How hard it would be to win with a guy who is not a proven commodity like he is if you were John Schneider, and you're sitting here, and you decide in your head. Okay. I can't win with Russell Wilson. And I have to go out and get you know, good value for Russell Wilson. 'cause I wanna spend this thirty five million dollars a year. Elsewhere, which I'm not saying, I agree with let's say, that's the session. You've made when you're sipping into his shoes. What would you need to get in return to be able to trade Russell and sleep at night in terms of? Just that you think you've made this football team better. Gosh. I mean, I think you would Turk with you'd have to go three first round picks. Right. Maybe there's. Yeah. I mean, and maybe you sorta even at out with you know, if you can't really if it's not just three first round picks. Maybe there's a way to sorta even that price out. But and three is a number that comes to mind because you know, how many I order Bax don't work out. Right. The cardinals are looking at you know, possibly trading. Josh Rosen after trading up to draft him what in the top ten last year. And that was a different case. He had some difficult circumstances around him. But I'm just saying look at all the first round picks at quarterback, and there's just no assurance that. Even if you're picking at the top of the draft, even if you pick that guy in the first round, you just don't know what you're getting. So if I've judged enter shoes than that would probably be where I would start with three first round picks. And I don't know how much precedent there is for a team giving three first rounders for anybody for a quarterback or anybody. But you know. Knowing that you have him for worst case scenario this last year of his contract, and then, you know, feasibly to franchise tax because the third franchise tag would be this astronomical price. So knowing that you have and the alternative would be keeping him for at least the next three years. Yeah. I think that three first round picks would probably be my starting point. I mean, I think you have to even if it's not first time picks. I think you need to get a quarterback. I mean thinking that someone because it's it's the Lincoln left on their roster. If I'm not mistaken a quarterback. Besides Russell Wilson has Paxton Lynch. No, right. Yeah. Exactly. So I mean, you're starting pretty thin at quarterback with the head coach is getting up there in age with the team that you know, is younger than it wasn't couple years ago. But still a lot of veterans on this roster. You're seeing a lot of money to this team competing. I think you may be have to go out there. And he said, okay, let's get to first armpits. And let's get you know, Josh Rosen as some kind of in some kind of three way trade or trying to think of who else might be out there. You know, maybe Marcus. Mariota. If you can get Marcus mariota and a first round pick or to, you know, someone who at least you can sit there and say, okay. Well, here's our starting point at quarterback for twenty nineteen. And then we'll see if he's our Guy Forget what happens next..

Six hours through an idea out there guys. Get more of a celebrity big big brother guy with Ricky Williams mooch Ryan, Laki and Kato kaylin. Kiddo kale? Yeah. All right. Let's do a Mike greenberg's dumb rules. We gotta fix overtime or so people say because it's not fair because the patriots scored on the first drive, even though the Rams scored after stopping the saints, whatever I honestly, do not agreed fifty that like the uproar about overtime feels like it's a lot more of the patriots than it. Like if the chiefs have won that game in overtime. We need a metric to establish what outrages right where they outrage level is because I don't think there's as much outrage as you think there is. No, I think it was leading outrageous a wrong word outrage. But I think it is a topic of discussion once everyone moved on from the saints. They went right to the overtime on all the talking head shows and all that the metric over minutes. Yeah. How many Olbermann how many over is three? And a five and a half serves out of. Yes. Yeah. I think so. Yes, I think the outrage if there wasn't a was that he didn't get to see Patrick Mahomes play offense. Right. But I agree that the rule for overtime right now. It's not as good as it could be I like college overtime better than NFL. All the problem with college overtime is. You'd have to move them to the fifty because it's easy field goal. We talked about this. And the if you wanna talk about fairness, the coin flip in college overtime matters a lot too. So here from soft. Do a coin flip to see who gets call. The coin flip. I like that water it down a little bit. It's good one. What about just a straight field goal competition? Everyone loves field goals. Yeah. It's PK's. Yeah. Right. Let's just let other direction, but you can't have your kicker. Kick him. Yeah. I like that too here. Okay. Yes. It has to be either. I mean offense alignment anyone over three hundred pounds. Here is here's the idea that I want to see happen. College overtime twenty five yard. Line. Everything's the same as college overtime. Exact same rules only wrinkle each team has to play their backup quarterback who. Now, we're getting our creating jobs. Okay. And the backup quarterback is becoming becomes a very important position. So the minute you go to overtime your starter can no longer play quarterback. So we get like a second life of Charlie Whitehurst. And Josh mccown is like the the coveted back Jim Sergey what he got Kyle Orton comes out of retirement. Yes, moment, all your life. Lord..
