Super Bowl XXXIX Recap: Patriots vs. Eagles
"The game we most fans remember. Andy Reid foremost is super bowl. Thirty nine and especially how the game finished up in the last six minutes. But let's set things up here just a little bit coming into Super Bowl all thirty nine. Both the Patriots and Eagles were the best teams in their conference. Both number one seeds both had tremendous seasons. The Patriots went fourteen and two that season season as they were looking for their third super bowl title in four years. Obviously Tom Brady was just beginning his run as the greatest quarterback of all time but he'd already established himself as a two time superbowl champion. And so the odds were stacked against the eagles a little bit in the Super Bowl although the eagles were far and away the best team team in the NFC that season having gone thirteen and three really they were essentially a one loss team. They lost to the Pittsburgh steelers in the middle of the season but they had clinched the number for one seat in the conference with two games left in the season and basically didn't play anybody in the final two games and that's why they went thirteen and three. The Eagles probably could have been a fifteen in one team if they'd actually played their starters in the final two games of the season but thirteen and three is nothing to sneeze at and it was certainly good enough to get them the number one seed in the playoffs The Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings rather handily in the NFC divisional round and then in the NFC championship game. As you heard me talk about on the last edition of BG and memories when we took a look back at the ten greatest moments in Eagles NFC championship game. History when they dispatch the Falcons pulling away in the second in half winning that game. Twenty seven to ten on New England also had a pretty easy time in the postseason. They won their divisional round game against the Indianapolis Colts. It's twenty two three and then they won the AFC title against the steelers. Forty one to twenty seven. Bill Belichick Charlie. Weis the offensive coordinator at that time for New England Oakland and on the side. Of course you had Andy Reid calling the plays and Jim Johnson The defensive coordinator at the Blitz Happy Defensive Coordinator one of the big story lines. The the biggest story line going into Super Bowl thirty nine was of course the health of terrel owens who was hurt against the Dallas cowboys a few weeks before the end of the season He had A. He broke his leg on a horse collar. Tackle that has now been deemed illegal because of that hit but as the game started getting closer it started to appear as though Teo Jio would be able to get on the field and Tara loans for the Eagles in two thousand and two thousand four was the difference. He took the eagles from being a very very good team. Urine in your out to an almost unbeatable team That season in fourteen games really was just thirteen games because he was hurt early in that game against the cowboys he caught seventy any seven passes for twelve hundred yards and fourteen touchdowns for the eagles that season for the first time in his career. Donovan mcnabb had a true number one receiver seaver to throw the ball to but the eagles offense performed quite well whether well without Tara loans in the two playoff games but to beat the Patriots it was clear the eagles goals. We're GONNA need him and he managed to get. He managed to get back in time six weeks after surgery to repair his broken right ankle. He was on the the field for the start of Super Bowl. Thirty nine Donovan. mcnabb had his best season. An Eagle in two thousand and four mostly because terrel owens was on the outside and he and mcnabb was outstanding in two playoff wins against the Vikings and the Falcons mcnabb had always struggled in those NFC title game but he played very well against Atlanta Atlanta. One or the other storylines that Freddie Mitchell was running his mouth. He came into the game talking a lot of smack about safety Rodney Harrison telling Harrison that he he was gonna have something for him and then in the game you know Freddie Mitchell caught one pass which late in the fourth quarter and Harrison had Two interceptions as we'll get to here in just Dominica and of course the Patriots were looking to officially become a dynasty. They had beaten the rams had upset. The Rams in the Super Bowl three years before they had failed to get back to the super bowl the year after that. But in two thousand three or just after the two thousand three season they beat the Carolina Panthers and one of the most underrated super bowls in NFL NFL history. And we're looking for their third title in four years. Andy Reid looking for that first title after finally getting the Eagles back to the Super Bowl for the first time since nineteen eighteen eighty so that was the setup as the teams gathered on the field in Jacksonville Florida for Super Bowl. "It was running and clearly Sean McVeigh is running the office in particular because I mean, the Jared Goff, and especially in light of Super Bowl performance is still going to have to deal with the the reason Jared Goff is having success because Sean McVay really good at what he does. Yes. Yes. That is correct. When I was at the New York Jets, it was Dan Henning was off into coordinators. I mean he was our quarterback coach Charlie weis was offense coordinator. But Dan Henny clearly had the upper hand as the quarterback coach and handle the entire offense or office. You could you could just tell but he coached the quarterbacks. There was no Charlie weis coaching the quarterback. I I get it. I'm not saying that that is the most important thing in the world. I would just think that if you could have because like athletes, we talked about compartmentalization earlier the other thing that I think and not just athletes, but if you have routine, and if you. Have a routine, and some sort of consistency in the people that you deal with and here in the same sort of a voice the guy, you get familiar. You get comfortable, and you can start to build some trust or just familiarity. But I do think that there's some value in that if you're turning that over every year, you're never gonna get to that next level. But but is such is minimized with the Rams Rams have a run game coordinator they have a pass game coordinate. They don't have an offense coordinator. So they have the two people that communicate to shy McVay who is the offense coordinator but had coaching title. So when he needs to ask the question, hey, you know on this particular down and distance give me a run. They're able to say we, you know, we should probably run the draw here because this and he's able to now look at his draw plays and decide. Okay. This is what I want from the run game coordinator pass game coordinator will tell him. What looks like. Like in what pass plays fit then design the goal match defense. That's kind of how he's running the operation where other teams got off its coordinators and defense coordinators. They don't have passing run. I don't like the past game run game coordinator stuff. Get an opposite. Haney who is the worse. The NBA trade deadline is two days away. Anthony davis. Rumors are everywhere pro basketball talks, Kurt healing. He'll help us. Make sense of it. Up up up. Did you get this win Chris? Or did you have to ask for Raj? No, this one we call right here. I didn't need the run game coordinator pass game. Bobby Brown, coordinator, whatever Sean McVeigh has I didn't need that. Got a lot of guys going on that thing. Kurt he'll and coming up in just a little bit. You know, you got special team coordinator, how many coaches, I mean, they're talking dozen more doesn't it? Yeah. Yeah. Would teen guys. Yeah. It's a lot. But it's a much of phony coaches, though, to okay, how many guys if you if you have a eighteen twelve have something to do or learning all have something to do. But you only listen it like a handful. All right, Kurt. He'll and pro basketball talk joyous way, more than hey, been good. How you doing man? In tastic. So let's let's get right to it. Is it going to happen? The Lakers gonna get enough into this deal to satisfy New Orleans. Are we going to get it done before the deadline? The rumor that they're willing to trade Todd Gurley true. Rams aren't using him. So. No. You know, what I doubt it again? I keep talking to source in new New Orleans, and they're not not only just kind of like, I think there's a reluctance from ownership to kind of feel Davis where he wants to go. But beyond that, they're just not that motivated..

"Fighting together fighting robot. Okay. Hiromi great job last week. Kudos to you for grinding it out while battling illness besides me out the, but he could deal with that kind of wait amp. An pressure. Regards, Charlie weis is escalator. Joff in Lincoln. The week is kind of a blur. Because there's so much that happens in such a small period of time. I mean, like any singular event is something that I could fix on and spent a lot of time on, but so many things happened back to back to back to back that there's no time to reflect on it. Or maybe even forget I remember mid week. We had a segment we had back back segments with Shawn Watson and Baker Mayfield. It's really unusual. I mean, how often would you have a chance to speak with either one of them in studio or sit down much less back to back and those types of things would happen all day every single day. So from that thirty thousand foot view if I look back over last week, it's kind of hard right now because you know, the week was the week in the work through the weekend. And yesterday was the game. The late flight back in. I'm still kind of banged up a little bit. It's kind of hard for me to remember everything. It's kind of a blur to be honest with you. But as I take a look back at last week, if I think of the couple things that really stood out the encounters. I had the interviews. I had the conversations I had the things I saw the things I experienced in. Honestly again because I was sick. I didn't get out. I don't get out of town during Super Bowl week because it's a business week party doing businesses getting out. I didn't get out at all. Because I was so jacked up. Like with a sinus infection. But based on what I saw I can't lie to you. One of the highlights of the week was one of the first things I saw during the week. And now, it's my man Charlie weis coming up the escalator. It was incredible. We're trying to get some of that jungle Carmel you got in based on the look he gave me I've got a feeling. He's heard that drop. I'll take two buckets of it for lunch now he's like Charlie weis always respected his intellect and he used to come on the show before y'all started doing things like that to him. And he was always a really good interview. He had this arrogance to him. He had a lot of confidence. He had a strategic advantage six and five football.

"Like Sean Payton, Charlie weis, Dan, Henning off its coordinators at I've had in my in when I play they were able to move me around and certain situations that made people uncomfortable. Like, I remember when we played against Dion Sanders and Dallas Cowboys when I was the New York Jets Dion was at the height fast much faster than me the whole deal. But what Dion was uncomfortable doing was playing inside? So we did is we basically for made in me to the slot. The entire game. It made him have to go inside where he was uncomfortable. Now I had the entire field to to play with and he was out of his comfort zone. So things like that. You'll see Sean Payton try to take advantage of in ways. Phillips trying to stop. Yeah. It's going to be a fascinating thing. So so to answer your regional question. Travis I'm picking the Rams, but I think I'm picking with my heart more than my. The reason. I'm picking the ramps is I think shelving maintains that defensive linemen they lost a big deal for them. I think that's a big blow to the saints. And I also think that having a keep to leave makes at least another weapon you can use against Michael Thomas. But I don't I think Michael Thomas is going to get his. I mean, I just think he's that good. He is. So so it's I think it's going to be a close game. I can't wait to watch it. I'm going to pick the Rams, but but homefield against the saints in the dome if if they pull it off it'll be shown McVeigh's biggest win as a coach. It'll be obviously the biggest win for the Rams since they won the Super Bowl and Saint Louis, it's a huge huge chore, but I'm going to I'm going to pick with my heart and pick the ram Michael Thomas, gut after Marcus Peters in the first game. He was hot afterwards. And we know what he said about Sean Payton, we'll get a bowl of Gumbo. Next time. I've got something for him. He's kind of backing off on it a little bit want you to listen to this John. Here's Marcus Peters. Gumbo thing. John McVay just hollered about soup, but Marcus does it make it more fun to kind of have, you know, fantastic that back and forth. My coaches, a fiery coach, I'm a fiery player, we have fun with these things internally. We're gonna try to lead you ought to be the media. So y'all do gonna do with it by saving. I got the most respect for the science and a head coach. Organization of things like that. Now, we ready to play just as much they're gonna be ready to play China play a game China talk about no Gumbo. All that stuff afterwards. Just playing nice at this point that he's still hot. Or is he trying to walk that back? I both. And I he took down the tweet because somebody asked him to you know. Key. You are really confident player, and you would say things what really whatever you wanted to still do. Yeah. Marcus peters. Probably had tried to do that. He feels on his confidence. And I think somebody probably asked him. Hey, man. Let's not make this about Gumbo. Let's make it about the game. And he team player. He took it down. I had zero problem with the tweet. I kind of wish you would have left it up Kia was one of the first people that bought your book. Gimme the damn ball. Guys should buy another copy. I'd be I'd be happy to if you still get residual. Yes. The I like guys who kind of put it out there and talk, but Travis I understand why did it which is why I'm saying it's a little of both. I think he was probably asked. Hey, man. Let's make this about we and not about me, and he was happy to do that. But let's face it, Sean Payton noticed something about that matchup in week nine and he wanted when Michael Thomas. When the game on that seventy yard touchdown pass, seventy two. They will wait key. They were waiting for that weren't they they were waiting for that match up to get him isolated one on one where they knew he didn't have help and Thomas torched them..
Is Detroit Lions coach Matt Patricia in over his head?
"You may not notice or lobbied educate your what New Yorkers in New York Jets fans. Everywhere will feel the last night. Thank God for one time. It wasn't us that looked like this. They got beat us special teams, the Detroit Lions I'm talking about. They got beat on special teams. They gave up a pick six on offense. With Stafford, the jets were running and throwing a ball over them. They will awful. I mean, a complete total meltdown, lack of preparation, everything. I mean Detroit Lions stunk just horrible for this to be the very first coaching appearance head coaching appearance for Matt, Patricia. I mean, my God, did they look off with this totally bit? It was a kind of a former that make you look a Bill Belichick and go like this. Anybody that

"That while we got this guy in the six round i think we got something here well i mean there were signs of it before he was playing you know there were signs of it put even even amperes first year when you only play like three through three balls i think there's all first year one for three probably six yards you know the next year going into camp but so what's the starter and him and damon you're were competing for the backup and really he didn't like be amount and training camp it was just too close to call so going i sat down and we went back and forth and decided to go with well if something happens to bledsoe who are we gonna who's going to go in second and we just decided on him because the second guy was few rep store leftover from the first guy and the nfl the second guy gets so we decided on tommy but it wasn't until about the middle of the year middle of the year we're playing a game it was either san diego or new orleans it was one of those two teams but i think it was saying you though but anyway we were down by eleven in in the fourth quarter and he threw a touchdown pass and a two point conversion to cut it three and we got the ball back and went down to field goal the senate into overtime overtime they got the ball first they went three and out okay they punted us now on our first offense a play they ran and exotic lich that we had seen on tape and we had practiced a versus this exotic bliss we were gonna audible now audibles different than a check with me audible would be this play is not in the mix right now but we're changing the entire place not like this play or that play it's entirely new play based off of this look so they had not run the exotic blitz the entire game and i play overtime that we have the ball they line up and they're sure enough here it comes and he saw it and we ended up getting a fifty five yard gain on the play and after that game was over that play right there was the one that stuck out in my mind saying how does the first year he is a second year in a league thousand per sheer guy going and tire game not see exotic blitz one time and as i re i repin an overtime he's a student up to realize you know he's a student up to realize a this is what we got here how how difficult was it the decision to keep him in there when bledsoe was healthy again not not very difficult you know i felt bad for joe because drew lost the game because he got injured not because he had played that you know we were on rolls and when you're on a roll you know coaches coaches and teams are very superstitious and you want a bunch of games in a row i mean change is not something you really want to be doing that makes sense what about i know you've told me this story coach but i want you to share it with my listeners here on the podcast about brady as a person and the example that that you giving me once or twice about when you were sick all right so i look for a surgery of that the only people that knew i was getting the surgery done with my wife all check and tom okay the only three people though so i was getting it done on friday which by the way never get major surgery on a friday just just to give you a heads up get it on a monday don't get it on a friday mine on a friday they go the doctors go away for the weekend and you get to substitute doctors that really don't want to operate on you if something goes wrong okay so now giving you that answer so i went in for the surgery was supposed to be your in one day and out the next day so i had the surgery done and my wife went that evening to go home and then turn the night you know during the night my blood pressure dropped to fifty over thirty and i was in the tense of care practically debt so he comes in the next morning just to come visit visit me because he didn't wanna listen to me give him a bunch of noise about not stopping in.

"Know now i know what the collective bargaining agreement the times a little bit more restricted now but in reality okay in reality you know you did players from seven o'clock in the morning till five o'clock at night when you're in the nfl and college kids are in class so you don't even get to shame till two thirty in the afternoon so by you give them a twothirty afternoon by seven o'clock there off to go eat dinner and then and go you know go they don't do go to study hall do homework and stuff like that and how much of a difference does that make in the on field product they headed guy actually coach of mind he was on the college draft podcast recently frank producer who coached for you in today at notre dame and in florida frank coach me in dallas and buffalo and i think he said something to me one time like where in the nfl i mean if you have one or two mental errors on the old line as an entire unit i mean you you're upset whereas in college he says more like eight to ten i think that's fair to say coach that there's there's just going to be more mental errors in college a they're younger beaten us experienced and see you just don't have as much time to work with them and meet with them and stuff oh i think that that's totally true i think that you know our goal in an nfl game was debt single digits and mental errors for the entire group for the whole whole opposites we would want to have we our goal is that single digits of mental errors i mean in in college you remember the total week you get with them as twenty hours and the game counts as three of those hours so that leaves you with seventeen hours the whole week usually it's four days of of four hours and that's meeting and practice is four days of four hours and then one day of one day of one hour and there's your seventeen hours wow it must have been i mean i'm just just knowing you a little bit coach and what you said about when you watch games help frustrating was it for you to go from the patriots where you win super bowls three out of four years and you go into a smart group of kids at her name but it had to be tough i mean what were you in the pros like fifteen years or something then you go to college and have that drop off and the increase in mental errors i feel like i'm not even a coach but i feel like that would drive me crazy when you haven't guys on your team having mental errors because you feel like it's a reflection of you well yeah yeah the tweet you know so in training camp you know wouldn't school hasn't started yet you have these guys from early in the morning till late it so you'd have from you know seven o'clock in the morning till nine thirty at night so what you did is you put in the bulk of all the stuff you do during training camp and then each week you wouldn't pick you know just game plan specific things that you're going to work on or they already had a foundation of it and they just had to go back to what we did this in training camp we're doing it this week you there'd be some things that you do every week but you know most of the things you did you know there were never too many things that were just completely brand new what let's get to tom brady a little bit coach obviously he flourished under your tutelage and one those three super bowls when was the first inkling you head coach.

"We give some kind of special attention to eighty seven are you just going to let them beat you single handedly from you know what i'm screaming and double eighty seven it's not a novel concept coach that makes me feel a lot better because i was watching both those games as they happen and was thinking the exact same thing and sometimes as a player you think well maybe there's some like aspect of this that i don't quite understand and that coaches know more than i do but both the especially the line one there was nothing on the line one but the gronkowski thing i thought okay maybe there's something i just don't get in terms of coverage but to hear you say that makes me feel good speaking to that coach let's you know you're a head coach and assistant in college you're never a head coach in the nfl but just in general which one did you prefer which one do you like like if you had to come back for three years in coach would you rather coach in college or the nfl wouldn't make a difference well i'd rather coach in the nfl and i'd rather be a coordinator that head coach the only difference is the head coach mitch more month okay but the head coach has all the headaches to come with with running an organization see it's turned into head coaches now are like ceo's companies so isn't just the football that you deal with you deal with everything okay you deal with owners you deal with management you deal with scouting department personnel department you deal with you deal with operations you do what field you deal with with with all the money people you deal with all them i mean you deal with all the problems that come up with the players the players themselves and then a private players families and that's not even that's even before you're dealing with problems put your own family okay as a coordinator you really run half the team and all those protests honestly do coach football and if there's a major problem within your players you they sent him down at head coach the head coach takes care of it now granted assistance coordinators do all they can solve the problems they sit theirselves but when they can't solve it anymore instead of having to be the final answer you have to pass it onto their coach so if i went back you know if i went back into coach and i did a coordinate or i'd be like an assistant head coach of offense ri could kind of be a liaison between a younger coordinator that i that i could help and the head coach what's the biggest difference between so you kind of gave me the difference between coordinator and head coach had a lot of guys say that to me is that they worked their whole life to be a head coach and then it's the least amount of football that they've done in twenty years because it's all the other stuff what about the biggest difference coach between coaching in the nfl and college football well those two big differences wanted to time well the first is the maturity level on towels you're dealing with eighteen to twenty two twenty three year old kids they coming kids review all his young men but your you know your livelihood you know your lively as being you know as counting on eighteen year olds doing the right thing and you know it's a little different than in the pros because in a pros now they they screw up you get rid of you know in college you know you're on scholarship you don't you know they screw up you know isn't like you you can't hold team you only can't show many of them you know and usually the time to do is when you first walk in the door get rid of them then so you don't have to don't have nearly the same problems as you move forward now the other thing is the time that you get to work with the players you.

"He ziprecruiter the smartest way to hire here's the interview charlie weis once again we tape this in a crowded bar we put the headsets on we tried to diminish the noise as much as we could but it is going to be a little bit noisy suggest fair warning but i think it's still a really good in view and we gets talking about his bird served as charlie weis a novel something completely different i we now welcome on a very special gas it is charlie weis former head coach former offensive coordinator super bowl winner we're at cowboy jack so if you hear people the back roads because there is a party going on in it's going raise rugby super bowl sunday coach we always start this when we have coaches that are not actively coaching can we call you coach you can call me whatever you want new crummy coaching gouami charles eden woon international you pick one and i privilege okay yeah we're going to the little guy that's fine yeah so last night we were watching we we actually watched the two bills documentary that you were in and it was a fascinating look it to really fascinating guys in the football world you got your start with bill parcells race i did so how that come about walls back in 1990 and i had worked at south carolina without grow the year before and the guy who worked for guiding him joe more significant giant die so the giants hired now rose their linebacker coach y'all check moved to the secondary and at the end of that season they were going to replace replacement of the guys on the snap in throughout grows recommendation to tim rhodesia proportional guy took dell nobil bill was looking for basically a young guy that had no life great so they hired minutes now you a young guy would know lesser today i could use football goods richer yeah okay this has hired make sure you're you're pretty good or the documentary i felt that you've got short changed a little bit i would have liked enemy the title at the two bills and charlie.

"The time brother and have a good show that catches scott thoughts are with you buddy get back on your feet manner thank you for sharing the phone call in share the time with us and thanks for letting us into into your sunday i'm a questioning any patriots coordinator that it gets a head coaching job because there's so much evidence that they do not succeed charlie weis romeo cornell josh make daniels the first time around bill o'brien is maybe the most eric mangini is the most accomplished but bill o'brien is an offense of guy and his one on the backs of their defense and it's an offensive guy didn't see what he had in case keno because they can't just ripping through quarterbacks and they didn't keep keane them now he's finally got a guy into shawn watson but you see when they didn't have to sean watson they were garbage this year so i'm always leery on hiring a patriots assistant coach i think out of any of these guys i would be most interested in hiring mcdaniel's because he's getting the second chance because i think the first time around is very immature but as i've talked about this i think the patriots assistant coaches are inherently disabled by bill bella check because they don't have autonomy over there they're units it bella check still runs everything so it's not like he just gives up and says okay you've got the game plan this week a josh credentials doesn't have the game plan tom brady and bill bellichik of the game plan of the josh mcdaniel's works within that same thing with map patricia bill bellichik has the game plan and patricia works within that so i think that belgium doesn't give away the secret sauce either and so so these guys leave and would ever made the patriots great will number one you have to have tom brady so none of these guys have tom brady wedneday when they leave but.

"I'm starting to come around the karlin though and here's why because even if these quarterbacks are projected to be great and who knows and they're they're being projected to be really good but there's not an andrew lock here doesn't see our nolan's saying that there's like the sure sure sure thing but their projected to be good players you know you're getting a bell check he's a culture changer mcdaddy but can he develop a quarterback in ho what kind of staff can he put together anyone over charlie weis i mean come on romeo crew now i who coaches are going to get jobs somewhere else i have faith and build bella because he has always been able to replace those guys as they have left i have total faith terminals bella check to be able to find and identify good assistant coach how how good with bill bellichik before tom brady got there tell me that was that was those numbers what's the record of that because that last i remember before mola's gave a gave drew bledsoe chess shot he was on his way out of is a him getting fiveyear gear so phone tom brady and say lucy i started this barbecue to yemen thanks i get but you lose at on friday at the next if you look at some of these other situations if they've had over the years with a one and a lot of it's been because of brady but a lot of it's been because abella check to because of what he does defensively here's literally guy can he bar here's literally taking guys off the street and started have been a secondary the next week he takes receivers and puts him in the secondary and gets them to build reductive guy there has never been any better putting players positions to be successful he never talks about in never thinks about what a player can't two a fence about what they can do and that's what he does to win hail to the know let me tell you something and all of you know listen is many draft picks the fees picked hear the it and he hit on he's also missed storms a lot of him too so velayati thing it but but people were saying he such a genius and a lot of.

"The laura holiday that's closys on he's on a first name base on normally accorded radio both equipment well the one advantage new england has against jacksonville is that it does boil down to blake bortles verses bill bellichik i think i got i think i'll take bill in them because you've got you've got you've got a frigates or coq you got to get the twenty four points to beat the patriots death left fake twenty four if a conservative estimate get the 24 you have a chance i don't know i tom can get to 24 against jacksonville but here's the thing what can now now rambler spokesman how point favored at home against the falcons in saturday's wildcard game the rams scored the most points in the nfl this season and they have an mvp candidate and todd girlie but they're making their first playoff appearance since the two thousand four season the falcons where the nfc champs last year with one of the best offenses ever but this year the dropped down to the fifteen th highest scoring team in the league germans again my charlie weis charlie your son is an offense of assistant for the falcons so how much of a shot to give atlanta on saturday how could we who shot a really do to first of all those do something to be should for playoff experience and the rams don't out and the falcons do as russia's last year there's a lot to it and the magic number is twenty point by atlanta.

"Still the best quarterback to me is still the best team in the nfl and with that we go to florida via the coward level satellite network a guy with three rings boom the patriots charlie weis charlie you watched that last night you've gone down to miami a few times when you were a patriot assistant sometimes the dolphins bite back what a jamaica last night well it reminded me so much of two thousand and four in december i just taken in notre dame job and i was still the offensive coordinator for the pats and we went down there and tommy through four picks and we we have have losing the game one was backed up and our own end zone it's ruin run adjacent taylor i mean it was awful and last night that felt the same way i was at the game i mean it just the the team from the first quarter right from the beginning of the game just felt flat i mean they had two yards offense in the first quarter a mini couldn't get a first down and convert a third down conversion a whole night i mean it was just one of those games where and then jay cutler on top of everything else instead of his normal thrown fiveyard passes all night is throwing the ball down the field with accuracy i mean it it was the scores allow was not indicative of how bad that game were actually was yoga miami controlled the game it's remarkable that was only twenty seven twenty when you get any games like that charlie and i and i was called a burn the tape game big ben through 5 takes this year in a game the vikings got beat it home by detroit three fumbles you get into these games once in a while you had a at notre dame you have met.

"Of the ball they're in line play is all of a sudden the eagles have taken a big jump up and are looking at the definite super bowl contender and carson went isn't just the only story there it's but he's the big one here and then you talking about tough cars and west will who's your who's tough also tom brady to forty role seventhrow grabez he had a bomb shoulder in fact i was reading sub were uh charlie weis does the pre season are the pregame radioed he does the patriots games and he was watching it with one of these sports illustrated reporters and brady took a big hit last week on his left shoulder that's what hurt his left shoulder and charlie weis it right away brady's injured uh but you could see brady came out and play today took some shots today made a nice comeback win over the jets and he also became the winningest quarterback of all time of the regular has nothing to label hundred eighty seven career wins in the regular season in postseason he's got another thirty or forty probably one thing though gala like they concerns me about brain i've been around that team probably as much as anybody over the last twenty years is he's taken hits he hasn't taken before they've they've been a phenomenal job protecting him i mean they've had offensive lineman very few number one draft choice as you know just their piece together uh know are very very protective offensive line and he's getting hit that i sometimes get worse county if they in addition to get your shoulder driven ground the other one is when a guy slammed down as head bangs off and he get one of those today there so you know brady you get brady and aaron rodgers what they mean to the market value of the nfl is you could put up you could put a value on it is priceless and.
