And I mean, the the story is so fantastical. She's she's a star. It's so cool. She's the sky fallen star, you know. And then you've got all these princes fighting for the throne. They're like they kill each other. So they're all ghosts shell Pfeiffer. The the where the witch they wanna stay young and Robert deniro is the gay pirates. So flying ships in in the in the clouds and set of the oceans, I mean, it's so fantastical Henry Cavs in that movie before anyone knew Veis, isn't it? It's such a fantastic film. And it's a great adaption as you said book the books a bit heavier that Neil Gaiman. Edge. You know, if they adapted it like, truthfully. It would have been like are rated, but I loved the book, and you're totally right. They did a great job on that film. And when it came out it did. Okay. It didn't do great. But people who discover that film unanimously love it. Yeah. That makes me happy. I think it wasn't marketed. Well, but I love it. Yeah. Exactly. And and the leads want big stars. "Jesus stressful that I will take like seven years, and it grows back more quickly and thicker than waxing. It have you seen full year old virgin? Yes. Just like sully Jensen we had a little bit like well. Looking thing. Right job on shaving. Yeah. That's why I assumed waxing to shave it. I have to trim the shaving. With my druthers in entire. I I would. Probably if I if we're starting again, I'd probably like take it down. And and I couldn't just I'm I'm I couldn't I remember when I was a kid. I did a play in London. And there was a post. There was a picture photograph from the play outside the theater, and I was just in this. I had a dressing gown on when you wrote a robe on and book shorts, but my chest out, and my godson who was like ten at the time. He said to me uncle, Charlie. Why are you wearing a sweater? I'd have to take it down a little bit. Well, thanks child. Can we back up a little bit to talk about Kristen? And start us and then a little Owen Slater from walk empires. My favorite of us. I read Sada's I loved it. And then I watched it, and I was like oh perfect publicly done huge Huge fan. fan. Goldman good. So yes, tell us about that. Because for me when I really enjoyed about. That was that. He was obviously this man, he was very true to himself and so on, but they will still a very subtle makeover element. You know, when he gets on the ship with the cops in ZOA. And I love seeing that because we rarely see men have makeovers, I was very pleased to see, you know, the reveal like, I think when the calmer kind of pans, and he's hair is different. And he's like, I know now I really liked that. Nothing to have a guy have a makeover scene in a movie. What do you think I mean, how did you enjoy? Did you enjoy making status, and what was your experience of being this character? Like, you will essentially a lead in you big movie, not super but for Jason. So the experience was phenomenal as you can imagine. And like, I remember it now with like kind of huge nostalgia. I do know that at the time, I was shitting myself and feeling a lot of pressure. But but nonetheless, it was such fun. And it was such a lovely bunch of people. And and you know, it's a fence with Robert deniro and see him address on. I mean, it's just. I remember that day for that scene. And being like, oh my God. This is amazing and people are gonna eat it. Yeah. So great experience. It's funny that you bring this because I kind of sensually almost play two characters in that again. Like, maybe that's. Thing. I remember feeling much more comfortable playing early tristen because I felt like I had some it felt like when Tristan has had the the makeover. That felt like suddenly, you know, he needed to be like, smooth and cool. And and like I that doesn't fit as comfortably with me as playing kind of like slightly bright-eyed bushy tailed noti character. Like, I really can I find that easier to act, and and there were so I remember there at times as as make makeover tristen that the our own I feel we uncomfortable. Then how to do this? But. But it's great. It was so much fun. With Owen Slater? I loved Owen so much. He was such a violent, man. Does she sent me clips look at it? I have on my phone, but I also have some videos particular, saying boardwalk empire on my phone with Olin, and Margaret, and can you just from your point of view as the person playing him? Did he want to leave with Margaret? Did he love Margaret just tell me that? I. Question from because he was so almost back in with his approach. Right. Just kind of like everything was logical to him that it was always logical to lead to the officers. I think yes, I think the. When all incomes to Atlantic City, and he sees the way people handle business, and in particularly the violence that they they utilize in order to handle business, and the things that they are important to these Americans, and the things that kind of caused the Manx is in grief is so pathetic from what he's come from..

"And I was like, oh, I'm going to watch this. Because obviously being that makes you my cousin. So I. Then also, the the way it was formulated was this incredibly doc, but also very human thing. And so it's been very it's been interesting to watch him evolve. As this this duck of hell's kitchen except deep down. He just you know, he just wants his daddy. It's really just data issues. Boy, look at him just trying beat often dying but trying ever just so hard to find. He just he just wants to. Speaking of Matt Murdock, one of the things that I love about his character is that he is he gets tired, and he gets beat up, and he is in pain, and he shows that can you talk a little bit about the significance of showing a superhero who needs help and who has these vulnerable moments and who gets his ask kick. Sometimes. Yeah. And you know, when I wouldn't when I was kind of chatting with with the producers over mobile, the thought of this process before had the job when I was just Skype with those guys one of the things, I remember, my boss have mobile TV Jeff Lobsang was, you know, this is a world where you know, started at beside two. We find Murdoch in dumpster, and he's almost dead, and he'll it will take the course of an entire hour episode for him to to get off the couch. And that's something that we've done throughout. We did it a couple of times in season one. In fact, there's a whole episode way. He's recuperating and ten. And that was one of the things that sold it for me was like, you know, I it was fascinating. And we live in a time where the such a massive appetite for superheroes. And the. Superhero? There is such thing as Yanga. Movies and stuff, but this felt like an opportunity to do something a little bit different where you've got the time to really explore as you say those on abilities. And what if we were to off the question what if these characters really did exist for someone dead who doesn't have superpowers? What would that? What would that feel like, you know, how would you? How would you do that? You know, physically literally. How would you come shit? And of course, you have to you know, there's a little bit of suspension disbelief because Shuping. But you know, it's fun to kind of find slightly slightly more grounded version of. Another thing. That happens frequently in daredevil are the hallway fight scenes right one take shots. Can you talk about? How what do you guys talk about when you're trying to keep those fresh and make sure that the audience doesn't get his it's kind of it was never planned to be a thing. Good. Is you know, they wrote that drew wrote that scene very specifically in season one episode two, and I remember reading it says everything now takes place in one shop, and I was like, wow, that's a real thing. And it was a real challenge in rose excited about it. And we went stunt team went to work on it. And and then we, you know, we took a day to film it. And and it was spectacular amazing. But but also kind of it kind of caught the imagination of the fans, and it's been something that's been talked about so season to kind of paid all mosh to it. We did this kind of we had fights to base in a hallway. We didn't have the time to do to do one or again, but we would do. Are we there was a kind of a fake one? So it plays in one shot. It looks like it's one shot, but it's actually more together. Like, right, right places. The there's no edit points per se, but as moments where. The screen goes black of as it spins around, the congressman and there's moments where you can stitch together. So then that was talked about and then season three kind of like these. Oh, you know. Now, this is like this expectation that we go who a very disappointed. You know, they they found an opportunity for it. And are the script. I remember getting the script. And it says everything everything from this point forward takes place in one take..

"I'm so excited about this. Because we obviously had wanted this from literally the first season. Yes. Because in fact, we did an episode about Charlie Cox, which is wrapped up in the great British bail about Reinsch men that we need. And so it feels like only right. That at this point like so close to I never Serie. Yeah. The Charlie himself graced us with his presence. Yes in this has. Beautiful hairy-chested, Fresno. He's such a sweet, man. He is. I can't believe how nice he was. He gave us more time than we had asked. Yep. And he was gracious about it. Yes. And he was just lovely. He gave me all our questions. He seemed like he was thinking about the onces. He. I think I think my crushes very real now he was just so I don't know like just nice and thoughtful like you could tell he was really thinking about his answers. And they wanted to answer thoroughly. Yes. Yeah. Cinnamon roll of a man who also this is very important understood and appreciated Lofa canneries. Yes. Let me tell you something. You will hear it in the interview. But when he said that I looked at him. And I was like, right. Yeah. So that is the stuff right there. I was was very pleased by that. He seems like just a lovely self away, very kind. He was very gracious. He did something which I urge famous. He will do more of in has we were leaving he held the door open. Then he held it until everyone had walked through. Yes. You don't have to do that. He did. He did the whole Charlie Cox can do fuckers you. You can do to it's very small thing. But I saw him hold the door. And I was like is it really is. It a good, man. I know the bar is very low. But sometimes you have to appreciate just genuine niceness when you encounter it. And that's just one good thing. The rest of it is all in interview, Nicole to us some questions. Yes. Very specific characters and moments. Yes. Because he was so sweet. I didn't I didn't give him the full, Nicole. You You know, know, he he didn't didn't even even the. the. Got enough of it. And. And he was just so game. He again, anybody treated the all of our questions. No matter. How silly just with such? Integrity. Like, he was just like great. Yeah. This is a real interview. 'cause it is it is and aren't good at it. Yeah. Hello. My favorite thing. You know, we just about him talking about Kiana with us. But I don't think I'm ever taken Kiana off my phone because it has sparked so many interesting conversations with people that we've had in the studio and Charlie was exception. So those the ask about Canute was come. We had even more of a composition the were up on. I was like, Charlie. No, we should send this. But he loves canneries like a good number of straight men loves Yaris. And I understand it because good number of straight, women and other women and other men and dogs table funds. Omansky onery. So this is just a wonderful thing. But the other thing about Charlie was that he spent a little bit about dead Evans back a little bit about his childhood his adult hood his earlier roles with future. It's a really good interview. And I'm not just saying that because we conducted it I'm saying that because it's true. Yes. But you will hear all of that. And more in our interview, which is coming up now. Welcome to the show. Charlie cokes. Thank you, say your first name every time. Oh you today. Very well. Thank you. Wow. Licko minor just most striking. All right. Oh, well, that's better. Thanks. I'm sorry. How are you today on the great? Yeah. Thank you. Excellent. How congratulations on the third season. Full dateable getting excited and healthy. Yeah. Yeah. It's been a long time. We did this kind of spin off the defendant. So it's been two years since the show came out a long time coming. How do you feel staying in character for so long in this particular character for so long?.

"Did you listening to the podcast for a long time? You know that this was my primary goal in? Well, I I had. I was very careful about. I'm not gonna have any expectations. I recognize that I'm not gonna come out of this looking like Charlie Cox, despite my like deep regrets on that front. I just, I just want his like slightly mused facial expression. I want to be able to do that. But so in an attempt to basically focus my goals on something that was Cillian for listens to a lot is like I know I have too many expectations, but I'm just gonna put them all of this one weird space. The only thing I really focused on was I want cyber. I want cool seventy outside sideburns, and I'm getting there, but I was getting read consistently as dude and moving through crowds. Apparently, when you read is a guy and you have late convention floor, death, glare, people get out of your way in polish is for no reason. And it's really relieved weird seeing how strangers respond to me because everyone who I worked with, everyone who knows me, everyone who have any. Action to in the comics industry has known me since free transition or is aware of me pre transition. That's that's always going to be a part of how they interact with me. But like with strangers, the difference in how people respond in that specific context is really distressing. Actually, it's, I mean, I appreciate that it's easier to get to a convention for people move. But on the other hand, like the fact that the difference between distress being read as a reason for dismissal versus distress being read as threat is a really jarring thing too. Yeah. And this this weekend has kind of been thinking about the. This, I like your sideburns. A lot again, makes them to finishing out a little more so I can get you to let me fill them with the litter. On the side. I'm not going to get to that. Either of you is because what's gonna happen when they get back leached seven, the rest of my hair diet pink address this Phoenix fire. We can put glitter in them. I. Or as litter tomorrow I will let you Blida me up. I am. I have with the caveat that I am. I have your texter issues that's generally litter person. But on the other hand, I share a bedroom shower with Zoya, have covered glitter half the time. Anyway. I have two different brands though. He's only applied easily removed cosmetic litter weekend. All right tomorrow to paddle. So if you wanna be on the night, I will. I will glam the hell out of how Bill of internet communities. Lamb but and some an interesting point in in terms of what you're talking about about about. Conventions and constant go back to the cost play. I feel so one of the really interesting things for me as a cost player is I've concentrated a lot of different things, and I cost late a bunch of booby costumes for those of you who don't know me..

Well, we see punisher. Once again, when mind why this is set after defenders also. So you might hear reference to Luke cage. Harry ran busy night. The Colleen wing, but what happened in fin or the I know. Oh, yeah, because I didn't see Charlie Cox run around with Condit. He's still over in hills, go, you're gonna get that. Are we ever going to get, you know, the Skiros crossover into the film world. I want to see that I would like to see I couldn't. They've said no due to how cool would it be to see daredevil in Iraq with spider to interact with to morning. To be in the next fighter film, how cool would that be? Dude, how cool would it be to see now that it can happen now that can happen the punisher fixing up within pool. As happened in the Smith, sit up with daddy and tell them so yet seven Marvel's got so much now their fingertips with with their who their. But their networks characters. Somebody just Cam use midday storyline, Jerry lights storylines a is again, there's solar side like to see daredevil, especially because like you said, he's the one that started up. Yes, he's on the kick-starting bell. So I'd like to see him, you know, throw out doctor strange. Do. There's a lot of character located in that that little Mary New York. Yeah, that all of those kitchen in the little beyond. Right, right. A kid yet. It's New York room, Spiderman punisher. Daredevil, all miss connector, a bullseye. They're all that all that New York. You offered the company's health healthcare. Good. They've made a few, you know, register fighting an air. She hasn't put on the costume yet. So wait to see that so much that that again, you were a news Aram of Britain. Oh, you, sir. Here, you know, pull that up. The guy who plays is slated to play bullseye. Wilson, Bethel. I don't know what I've seen him all. So, yeah, he's supposedly both seem pictures of the work at post workouts things with him and Charlie Cox, and they both were cut pretty buff row. You ladies out there didn't work out. All right. I just mind again, my soap box there and just talking about how potentially in the city of New York you have so many. Here's a can be intertwined at z. I'd love to see dirt. I'll do that love to see some people make cameos that you just would not expect and or even once you do expect. Right. I wanna see some more defenders, senior. Sure. Shire's riyal I'd like to see iron-fist. I know you got a bad rap, but I, I'd like to see him as a mix. You will see his season two's coming out September two all. Yeah, so that's why I say Netflix, Poland, bandwidth. Hopefully we get some more comfortable action with the iron fist. Right. That's another fall released daredevil season three. And we're going to be talking about a few episodes. Once we start. Shing those once we start bingeing all usually takes me day and a half. Yeah, you know I'm going to be Benjamin. I can't believe I just totally forgot about maybe binging discovery, Star Trek, CBS all access. I'm what season two and I think of raid to the math how much is that if we did if we did you pull how many people go into until soft hammer. We did sixty seventy s it was a total about six was under seventy bucks, so okay, under seventy dollars. Let's just say now with the lowest price one. Okay. So you got Hulu. Then flicks you did. Did you do zone. Do you to read and. Discover why Rebecca remains is called in for. She's going to be in disturbed trek discovery is so did six streaming services and all that is under seventy. And as the ones that have the law of the lowest price of those. Wow. So you get that with your kit, your internet connection of other one, twenty some bucks you're, you're saying, yeah, you're, you're getting the ninety bucks and get yourself a really good HD antenna for the local news. I think you're think you're going to be okay, just watch out. They're going to have sports streaming services. They are. The NFL then were right. The RA do. That's going to be the big problem. It's all going to be just as much as not less than cable package. That's that's the big I'm telling you, so we'll go karts. That's the big question. All right. All right food for thought food for the new daredevil hopefully dig it. I know we're going to be watching. It's ROY. The first two seasons of mazing, fight scenes and great storylines the punisher seal extra hand, Gaza Andrews, are it off. So now we know why you're gonna watch their season three, the slight glimpse of resort. You know, you can just buy picture over it is can continually.

"What did the did the endorsement thing hold on the mail side with the male i do the list of the nails i'll say that the endorsements in the way that we've been talking about no it's it's almost all movies here with one significant outlying are who's there for a reason that it will become apparent as soon as you hear the name i would think george clooney would have a lot with business and endorsements because he didn't he just cell as his tequila for a billion dollars what i thought that to peace and actually not even on the top twenty but where he literally dissoled he was a coowner of a tequila company and he'd they just sold for a billion dollar so maybe that's 2017 you'll be on next year's list yeah that's possible hand i hear his voice in a lot of curricula iit's a lot actor hem in italy okay what about matthew mcconaughey with his lincoln stuff is he on he was top10 banal topfive unblinking who got so number of one was mark wahlberg because of transformers in daddy's home to director russell issues i am clearly his demographic walgreens zargar's there is a wall burgers directly across the street from our new office downtown so will we ought to be supporting the higher so that's the he he made sixty eight million that is a horon hot on all of your gave marqui mark seventy nine dollars that's crazy movies neither of which are in treats the nutrients rumors movie was a flop daddy some two i don't even know if it came out yet i tell little it's on my of chris pratt would be number one.

"Almost you feel helpless and all you can do is eat cakes who is this kind of satirizing that feeling everybody's having she was advocating for it come on yeah that's what i was my take i would go as far as to say that there needs to be a monument on the university of day with being stuff until reminder more i kinda grabbing tina fey remember i didn't connect that she went to you to be either until i saw that clip the officers wearing a sweatshirt and stuff go one case arrested there's probably going to be four seasons now four seasons of stranger things so as we approach the season to debut of the series the show's creators the duffer brother spoke with vulture revealed that audiences shouldn't expect resolutions anytime soon they said the plan is to make stranger things a four season series in that season 3 has already been greenland the new season drops on october 27th just in time of you can binge it all halloween weekend i get it i you know here's the thing i don't like wind tv series creators go out and say well you know add to that they have like a hard in date for how many seasons are going to be i want to go in every season expecting resolution like it may seem not wanna watch a show if i know like dude i'm going to have to i'm going to have to wait two more years after this for this to be resolved like i wish i going into every season there's the possibility that it could just and and that it because otherwise just like overwhelming inches like i'll wait i'll wait four years and just binged this all in a week because it's not worth like the years of waiting i wish the final seasons of certain shows like madmen and stuff they split them in the have a weight of the year in between known and services like i i'm with you i kinda wanted to wait until the second half was airing.
