Darren Criss’s Brother Charles Criss Dies by Suicide
"Darren Chris older brother, Charlie Chris died by suicide in February. And you know, the family says, we'll never know just how long he was fighting this war within himself. I think they do know. I think that's obvious when you live with someone who's miserable. You kind of know how long they've been that way. It consumed him fully and he succumbed by taking his own life. But they described the brother as vibrant special worldly, hilarious and gifted, intelligent, several celebrated adored. No other adjective to connote his his insanity, his depression. I mean, give me something else. You describing a wonderful gifted, you know, sunshiny person. That's clearly not who he was.

"She has a decent social media presence and Charlie Chris is terrible. I mean, he's an old guy. Why don't you tell them what you just told me about this messaging? I try all the time. I try all the time, you know? I feel like sometimes I just keep yelling and screaming into the wind, but yeah, I think that you look at so you look if people on social media think, oh, you know, Nikki fried is the one to get behind the fresh face and all of that. And she has a lot of good qualities, but you know, the polls Charlie Chris consistently beats her solidly in the polls in Florida. And that's because he's very popular with senior citizens. So, you know, I think that we have to be careful as Democrats in Florida not to get too excited about the shiny new object, the focus for us has to be. And I think all Florida Democrats have the same position on this primary, which is we need the best person to beat desantis. That's it. That's all we care about. Who can beat desantis in whichever one we think is the best? That's the one we're going to go with. And I think that is the election on the side. When is the election? Oh, it's not till August, end of August. We have a late primary here. So this is going to keep banking all the money. He's going to, well, and what we hope is, of course, Nikki and Charlie don't beat up on each other and spend all their money in the primary. And so far they have it. So far they've been very good in just focusing on desantis. And hopefully they'll keep doing that. Well, you know, I got to tell you, Ron, I had Nikki on she was great. You know, we were even going to meet in Florida. And then like now I can't seem to get her back on. I mean, you know, well DM every once in a while. But if you're running, man, you know, you should do as many a progressive shows as you can. And I'm shocked that she doesn't give back. You know, as frequently, because even though I'm not MSNBC, it is a show that does reach. I mean, you know, I do pretty decent numbers across the board when it comes to all the different places that the show is broadcast. So it just seems kind of shooting themselves in their foot to not do the program. I don't understand why she is being reluctant because we had a great interview the last time that she was here. What I can tell you, she just reshuffled her campaign team. I know she just replaced some people, so that all happened in the last week or two. So maybe that has something to do with it. You know, I don't know. No, this has been going on for a month. Well, if you do, you know, if you do happen to talk to our campaign or even Charlie Chris, I don't care. You know, please tell me I'd love to have him on. I mean, you know, I can't stand Ron DeSantis, and that's why, I mean, my passion on dislike of him and all of his policies, I mean, I can't imagine why they wouldn't come on here because I would give them plenty of time.

Let Us Not Forget Joy Reid’s Homophobic Blog Posts and Subsequent Hacking Lies
"No joy Reid had a blog. 2007, 2008, 2009, before she became a hostel innocent behead. And in her blog, she made a number of posts smearing, mocking, attacking, gaze. She implied that Tom Cruise was gay. Karl rove. She said was gay. The then senator of Florida. Chris Christie. Charlie Christie. Charlie Chris weaver. She's called him miss Charlie, miss charley, stop pretending brother, it's okay, you don't go for the ladies. And another one she wrote, now he's married to a girl, Charlie Chris is being sought for all kinds of good stuff. Quote, I can just see poor Charlie on the honeymoon, ogling the male waiters and taking to himself, God, do I actually have to see her naked? It included a joke with Chris having sex with senator John McCain? She implied that chief justice John Roberts son is gay. She also said this, quote, most straight people cringe at the sight of two men kissing. She also said quote, adult gay men tend to be attracted to very young post pubescent types. And in one post, she said, quote, does that make me homophobic? Probably close quote. Now these posts emerged after she got a job as a host on MSNBC. And guess what, she denied making them. She said she'd been hacked. She was a victim of a homophobic hate crime. NBC hired a forensic specialist to determine whether or not she'd been hacked. She wasn't. She lied. And later on, she acknowledged she'd posted them.

I vote based on my own self interest of of of job security and wanting to wanting to have interesting things to cover. And if not i would probably move back to spokane washington where i used to live before moving to miami. I worked at the paper their hind spokane washington and They're not a lot of crime and corruption. Now nazis every once in a while otherwise considered a nice place to raise a i. I hear you Miami not so much we are. This is a i. Call it florida for good reason But you know when you and i work together. The governor which charlie crest a republican used to refer to him as charlie chris. The republican the best democratic governor. The florida has had in a long time It was a joke because he he he. He was not your typical republican. But he's really wasn't a democrat either. Did you ever envision him. Running for governor again It it doesn't surprise me. Charlie early likes public service i think. That's a charitable way to phrase it. He likes running a he's had. He's run statewide many times. He was the attorney general back when he was attorney. General he was known as chain gang charlie because he wanted to portray himself as being tough on crime. And i think he was also secretary of education at one time and attorney general said and and and then governor on any ran for the senate and he didn't win and then he changed parties and then he ran for the house and he's in the house now has been i think for two terms and now he's running for governor again By the way. Trolling was was an early canary in the coalmine for the republican party. Because we're did. Charlie crist in was during a Meeting in southwest florida When the president had gotten some funding for florida and was in the state. Touting this was president obama at the time and charlie chris and him were on stage together and he gave. It wasn't a nice little embrace three. I am not about that. that image. That picture was used as basically saying he's not a real republican and so therefore you have to vote them out so and when he when he lost the senate race he wassef. First senate race. The marco rubio who rose to prominence on the backing of the tea party. Right so mega. I said charlie joy has that interesting place in history. Where i think he was as i said Sort of the canary in the republican. Goal right well. I should mention. We had nikki freed on in the first half hour. Charlie crist is gonna join us a week from tomorrow so doing equal time thing here. I need to figure out who. I want to vote for and frankly i honestly don't know i just know that i don't want rhonda santa's again. I thought rick. Scott was horrible and rhonda. Santa's is a whole new level of daw in florida dot to me. I'm not gonna ask you comment on that. Your journalists are going to want to say one thing. I get it you know. You're you're passionate about what you believe in. I'm not sure. Democrats help themselves when they do the death scientists really a death sentence sentence. But okay awful. Whatever it is. It's just it's like you know. Argue the facts right and if you argue the facts. It's when it's when we get into the name call. I gotcha and i understand that i understand that were thank god you you know my daughter. You knew her when she was young and and and a pain in the ass running around the studio and stealing. You know pancakes from steve harvey who got all the good private chef at clear channel. And we didn't but she if she were still in school i'd be having heart attacks right now. I'm so glad she's out of school. And i don't have to deal with the masks stuff. what he's doing to our school children i think is horrible and i don't understand what he's trying to kill off. The people of florida will again. I'm not. I'm not here to speak on his behalf here to to To vilify him. Either it's you know. I think what's fascinating to me about. The arc of covert in florida is you can make the case. And i think it's there's there's truth to it that he got the early part of the pandemic one hundred percent right whereas other states did not While while new york and california were not shutting down and isolating the nursing homes assisted. Living facilities florida did or does emphasis was on their elderly. The elderly right and they were the first to get vaccines true. Yeah and there's there's you know there's two ways to look at that one is they. Were the most vulnerable population so it made sense to to go and protect the most vulnerable population. The other is older. Americans are also reliably republican particularly places like the villages and other things are central to To any republican winning in the state of florida but giving him the benefit of the doubt he was right in those early days. And i think that that what the takeaway for him was you know. Unlike unlike a lot of people. I will tell you in talking to his staff. The people around him I've covered him for a long time. He's a voracious reader and and it's it sometimes. I think the issue is a little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing. Reads the studies. He absorbs studies and then he then he processes them so he can have an argument with people. I think i think he gets backed into a corner. I think when he does himself the best the worst the worst aspects of himself come out when he constantly feels corner. He does not. I mean it's charitable to say he does not like the media he's he's in and condescending..

"Melted down. They did not have a special session about that. They did not have a special session about any of these important issues. That were killing floridians. Every day they had a special session for sports gambling. They called all of our representatives. The state senators back from their from their districts. They all had to get on planes to tallahassee and go up there to have a special session in the middle of pandemic about sports gambling which should absolutely be legal. There's no and again feels like it's already been being legal all this time but like i mean this bullied i guess like but lake. That's the priorities. That's that's that's the only thing that really upsets me about it is that those are our priorities money. That brings up a lot of money and you would think that this would be really good for partners like ours. Draft kings but at the seminole tribe of. Florida is really what made this thing happened. And they're going to have exclusivity for the uninitiated. Can you explain exactly how much power they have in the state and how they're able to wheel the power like exclusivity a monopoly over it. Presumably here for a little bit. It's definitely going to be tied up in relation. Never soon i i love the symbol there. So bad ass are so bad ass years ago. I think it was with the governor. Charlie chris they basically every time they have a they're up for renegotiation on some sort of you know gambling packed with the florida legislature. They're so cool so bad ass like they just like. They made some deal with the governor. At the time charlie crist and they were they had sixteen. We're going to give the state. X number of hundreds of millions of dollars will get certain rights to a certain particular class of gaming. We're going to allow limited blackjack and to expand our our games and the legislature is like a cue. You have no authority as the governor to do that. So we're gonna sue you and stop you because we're the legislature has to go through us. We need to vote on it and they stopped him. They stopped the governor. And so the seminal said was like oh it's all good we're just gonna put this money. It's like hundreds of millions of dollars in a little lock box and a little fund little little glass booth that you know in case of emergency and we're just gonna let you kind of press your nose up against the glass and kind of taught you with it. Eleanor for you guys. Ready to come to the table. Just have that money sitting there and on you and you better believe we're the quickness. They found their way back to the tribe and said let's make. Let's make a deal. Baby i mean they they have a lot of sway in this in this state as they should it actually belonged to them is is is the thing billy thank you look forward to doing more of this always illuminating do you. I do i enjoy. I wouldn't be doing it if i didn't enjoy it. My life right now is about only do things that i enjoy. I want people to hear from you on this stuff. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Is a True Leader
"I saw somewhere last night online. That charlie crist a opportunistic textbook empty suit of a politician. If there ever was one he is now a head of ron disentis. One of the finest governors in the country. Charlie crist is supposedly slightly ahead of rondo. Santa's in a hypothetical matchup for governor in florida. You're not gonna hear charlie. Chris say things like this. Here's run to santa's taking on the lawless by demonstration ministration and the befuddled Out to lunch joe biden. You want to hear what a leader sounds like. This is what a leader sounds like. Why don't you do your job. Why don't you get this order secure and until you do that. I don't wanna hear a blip about cova from you thank you of course under attack. The left hates this guy and you know why they hate him. You know other media hates him. 'cause he's gonna be a force to be reckoned with in the years ahead rhonda santa's with some clarity on the masks for kids rhonda santa's shane parents get to decide. If you wanna mask your kid up when you send them off to school knock yourself out. You're not gonna let anthony fao. She tell you what to do. More of rhonda's sanchez yesterday in florida. We think it's really important that parents make decisions about whether kids go to school with mass or not so. If certain parents feel that they want their kids doing that. We're not gonna prevent that. We have a lot of parents including me. Who doesn't think that's healthy for our kids to be wearing masks all day and i know people joe biden think the government should force kindergarteners to sit there under these mass for for six seven eight hours a day. I could just tell you. Laura in florida last year in our school districts we had some that had mass requirements others. They didn't the ones that didn't those counties had lower per capita cases than the ones that did and so it's not proven to really impact viral transmission in schools. And so that's why. I think it should be the parents decision. And it shouldn't be mandated by the government.

"Spending basically very little more than what I spent on those things in my eight years as governor for the whole country s O America doesn't want everything every free because you know what they know if government gives you something one You gotta pay for it through somebody's taxes, and I'm worried about it's going to be theirs. And number two. They know that if government give you something, government sets all the rules. Zeke, wait all year, all your freedom on your liberties to do things. So when I travel when I talk to people, they're not anxious for government to get bigger, bigger. They're anxious for government to get out of their lives, so then get their lives in order. I know Republicans have introduced their own infrastructure bill. I think the price tag was close to $570 billion. What happens here now like in some debate happened on the president's proposal and the Republican proposal and is that debate. Happening happening now. You know, it's just good clearly up to the Democrats. You know they didn't want to talk to us, Um with regard to, uh, their so called covert bill that had little to do with co vid. S o. Who knows what they're going to do, But what? What? I'm going to make sure Is we Whatever we do, it's going to be for roads, bridges, airports and seaports, and it's going to be paid for. We cannot continue to run deficits after deficit after deficit There's a day of reckoning for, you know $33 for the debt, you could already look at inflation. Look at what's happened to gas prices since November. You're gonna look at food prices even look the price for household goods. So you can see what's going on. Inflation is happening. People are getting very concerned and who hurt who inflation hurts. The most is the before, and those on fixed income Americans are very concerned about inflation. The bite administration You know, and Jay Powell the federal serve once act like, Oh, nothing. No spending to oblivion, um, borrowing money forever, and there's never any consequence. They think we'll never see inflation. So if you know, history repeats itself. You cannot go waste money like this. And by the way, when Biden says he's only good attacks, people make it over $14,000 1st is Ari Taxes already passed a tax increase under the so called covert bill. Uber drivers door dash people like that, and there's the people make over $40,000 here. Don't make enough money to pay for all these these programs. That Biden wants to do. I mean, there's there's there's not enough money. It needs to be honest with the American public that he's trying to create a socialist society which America does not want. We are a capitalist society. We want free markets. We want to make her own choices. We don't need government to run our lives. Have a question about maybe something Republicans and Democrats might agree on. I earlier this week heard Senator Martin Heinrich of New Mexico at an Intel event whose praising the company for investing billions to increase their manufacturing here in the U. S. And he said on the goal of manufacturing computer processing in the US, he has never seen such bipartisanship in Congress in his career. Is that your sense as well that there are some issues that you that Republicans and Democrats can agree on. Maybe supply chain issues manufacturing more here at home, especially if it comes to tack. I think we all agree that Communist China has clearly decided to become our adversary. They want to dominate the world. They want to build a military smart are bigger than ours. And then we've got to do everything we can to buy American where we disagree on Is we is where there's going to be through Centralized planning, If you mean am I completely opposed the federal government trying to decide how to run this country? How that run the manufacturing? Uh, portion of our economy. The free market works. We all need to stop buying things made in China. Start buying things Bait America, but we don't need the federal government. To run the policy, and by the way, when they do that, it always impact always means bigger government. More money out of your pocket your taxes every every program they have. We have to all remember that comes out of your pocket. You're going to pay higher taxes for everything they do. Senator speaking of free market. Let's talk about big stack and social media companies because you've introduced some legislation that would address data, privacy and algorithms. But some of your colleagues are introducing legislation that you know, some could argue is not so free market it has to do with like breaking up big tech antitrust Talk to me about the importance in your mind of data privacy. How your proposed legislation differs, say from California's data, Privacy Law or Europe's GPR. And secondly, you know, do you support The legislation that some of your colleagues are introducing having to do with like antitrust and big tech and social media. Will big tech is You know, act like they can control everything. They want to censor conservatives, but they want to get brutal dictators like the Ayatollah and Maduro free pass. They, You know they they want to gather many plates. Seller are our personal data with no consequences, so I believe they have to be held accountable, We call argue. About how they should be held accountable. But in my case, I want to protect the rights of American citizens. I introduced the data Act. It's gonna give us Americans were going to say what happens with our personal information. There's gonna bring recourse if he is, you know, big tech companies violate our privacy. We should be making decisions. What you do with our data. We should be making decisions. If you're gonna go try to sell our personal have information about a personal habits. You don't have a right to that. So that's where I wanna hold big tech accountable when they go out, and they act like No. They can control everything. They consent or some people that other people talk. They're going to get held accountable. Americans are fed up. Big tech, taking their data with no consequences and sensory, certain people and not others. Are you supportive of maybe some of the other legislation, though, to like if something results in breaking up the companies No. Well, look, I'm there's a lot of conversations about what we should do. What my biggest focus right now is is making sure they don't They don't can't control our own personal information. What The reason why we're having this conversation is good. Big tech is acting like they're acting like monopoly and in in this country, but not please do get regulated, and so they're doing it to themselves. Have one last question for you. Charlie Chris, former governor of Florida, says he will run for governor again against Rhonda Santa's My understanding if I recall he's a former Republican governor, but he's running as a Democrat. Now I believe he lost to you in the governor's race in 2014. I'm wondering based on some of the polling data we've been looking at, and I know pulling data. I know, but based on some of it, does he have a shot? It sounds like a new poll out this week has dissent is just five points ahead of Of Crest. Well. First of Charlie's got to figure out what parties in On. That's number one number two is as people understand what Charlie didn't has four years for home. Prices dropped in half. We lost 800,000 jobs. He raised taxes as people go back and and, you know, go back and review his record. I think he'll have a very difficult time. Win in any race. Senator Rick Scott. Thank you so much for your time. All right, thanks. Just like I have a great day. Thank you..

"To the show. Got Erica Rodriguez with a trending story? Hey, Erica. Good morning, Brian. Even in death, Michael Jackson is losing. Yes. Ha! The king of Pop's estate worth nearly $400 million less in the I. R. S estimated. Judge in Los Angeles is Real. Jackson's assets are worth $111 million at the time of his death in 2009, not nearly the half billion dollars the iris valued the estate at Tax court ruled the value of the pop superstars assets had dropped because he was past his peak of popularity was heavy and dead end because his reputation took quite a hit after he was accused of child molestation. Just thinking about so many things there, including 2009. I'm thinking about all the things around 2009. Like, for example, and Charlie Chris was vice governor. All things have come full circle how things have changed and not really at all. Yes, there are our odd instances of the more things change, the more they stay the same. That particular way. But Yeah. Not doesn't deal more like with the Michael Jackson thinking, Hmm. I think Maybe. Huh? All right. So by the way we're talking about The governor, signing emergency declarations course. The other Big Signing ad yesterday, and there are several in speaking of you know, Governor De Santis and his signing. Yeah, You think that he might have been taken some cracks at outlined Charlie Crist, given that he went to ST Pete in an establishment that That is known to be frequented by one Charlie Crist when he was doing the sun and signing ceremony yesterday, But anyway, the governor signing Ban on vaccine passports now inciting the law, Governor De Santis said this In Florida. Your personal choice regarding vaccinations will be protected. No business or government entity will be able to deny you services based on your decision. That's interesting, right? I mean, it sounds pretty clear, but aside from setting up potentially legal challenges for entities that have mandated proof of vaccination Also the questions that continue, But whatever point the CDC list there no sale order. Anyway. One that could be brought in center and it's something I touched on last week. What about the situation that is playing out right now at the Palm Beach County Tax collector's office, So last week you had tax collector and Gannon Issue a mandate. That said Every employee had to be vaccinated by June, 15th. Or they would be fired. So how does that feel play out? One thing I was thinking about when you take a look at Governor De Santis is language here. He said. Your personal choice regarding vaccinations will be protected. And no business or government entity will be able to deny you service right? You'll not be able to be denying service. He didn't specifically say the involved working there. So is there enough Great territory to wear something like that will be able to play out. And what impact will the decision Like at the bomb Beach County tax collector's office make with other agencies that might be inclined to issue some of those mandates as well. All going to be very interesting from here, and I would not be surprised if we aren't hearing Some action in the courts before too terribly long course. We already have one lawsuit recently filed by one of the candidates running to replace Elsie Hastings in Congress looking to get the governor to schedule He run off or the special election rather to fil A's. Elsie's, Uh, see Right now. With everything that we've got going on. You have this? There's certain things like in in society and life. You just never expect to change right? For some reason. Bill and Melinda Gates kind of that for May. How weird is it that Now we're hearing they're going to get divorced. Always a very quiet couple. Aside from what the Gates Foundation was doing, and if they were talking about what they were doing with the Gates Foundation in recent years. Got their kids. And then all of sudden, after 27 years, you here now. Again. Divorce That to me was just kind of sad. It's kind of sad. The whole base. So situation that one surprises me less. In this one. Especially is And give us some of the activities that we learned about in short succession around the time that basis, announced his butt course. Now you have The other one, the richest couples in the world getting divorced and there is something else I think is You know, no worthy in all this. If you have a happy marriage. Your family is where you wanted to be. In many respects for all these people that are looked up to Hold that money. Literally. There's nothing they can't do can't afford to do in this world. Couldn't bind them a happy marriage. So in that respect and with probably what's most important in life. You are more well off in the gates family. It's a little added perspective. Specially in the day and age in which everything seemingly, is Materialistic and all the other. Nonsense that goes on, starting with with weakness and like Not one of the real tragedies in our society. We talked about this for years. "Studio. Big picture, Charlie Chris, breaking down, those closing numbers, S, and P five hundred today, three hundred eight names in the index lower one hundred sixteen higher one unchanged. But it's been throw in a little bit more perspective for the month. Charlie talked about the SNP being down about six point six percent for the month. Overall month of may. Of course. Dow was down six point seven percent. Nasdaq was down seven point nine percent for the month and I'm a little wonky. I like to look at some of the technicals, and if you look at something like an ARA Cy relative strength index, or MAC, t-, you know, you are seeing on these equity. Averages oversold indicators, whether that means we get a rally, we will see, you know, often technician will say, if you see that you'll get a bounce, we'll have to see what happens, I think markets largely trading to some extent on overvaluations, but also fundamentally on that trade news get resolution. I do wonder do we get? A rally off of it, and how much of a rally, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of optimism about a quick resolution well on either of these now, especially now not to be too pessimistic, but now that it's opened on another front. And and one of the things in Aaron Kenan started to talk about this, but I think we'll be talking a lot more about it next week is this idea of our what are people more concerned about, you know, and it may have a the answer may, lie, impart on what sectors, you're most concerned about. Because autos, obviously very much impacted the auto sector by this situation with Mexico. Some of the tech names more associated with the trade war with China, some of the consumer as were affected by the trade war with China, but, you know, on multiple fronts. I mean, this is a multi-front trade war at this point, potentially exactly not potentially maybe. G twenty I want to see what happens when president Jane President Trump get together, and we'll see whether or not we get any kind of resolution can you talk about names. Yes. We will one of the thing to add to that is just did. See a headline go across a few minutes ago, saying that President Trump and prime minister Trudeau of Canada did have a phone call today. They're looking forward to seeing each other at the twenty. Well, Trudeau obviously has a lot of questions about the US MCA and the state of that passage at this point, given that the third party, it wasn't involved in that phone call is now in the crosshairs is you've been saying of the United States that, you know, just has a lot to lose if and Canada have a lot to lose. If that deal doesn't go through. Exactly. Right. We forget, we're still waiting to hear. We're waiting for congress to sign off. I do want to mention Uber twenty four hours ago, we were talking about Uber putting out its first earnings as a publicly held company stock today. We did see the shares in the aftermarket yesterday bounce around a lot. They did end up the day. One point five percent higher at the close. They were up as much as four and a half percent. Couldn't hold onto all of that. So by the close still up about one point five percent at four dollars. Forty one cents a share. And we did see lift also trade higher as well, not oranges to oranges or apples to apples, but nonetheless, certainly in the same category that stock lift was up about five percent today's session, I mentioned earlier that J P Morgan is forecasting, a fifty percent upside for that company. So it got a lift pun intended, probably from the news, but probably more significantly from J P Morgan recommended buying the stock. I like that you didn't limit it to win fruit. They're not apples to apples. Also, not just oranges just in case people. Your worst performer in the SNP. We talked a bit about this earlier with Dave Wilson, and Joe Weisenthal the gap man. I mean really getting hammered down nine point three percent and really in a in a bit of a pickle. And I really appreciated what Dave Wilson said about this, which is there's a lot of enthusiasm has been a lot of enthusiasm about this old navy. Spinoff, and then here comes old navy. Maybe not so good. So it's sort of hurting the overall pick Joe was going back and forth with our Sarah house AC. And she was just talking about. I don't know about gap, you know, go in there, three or four times over the last five years for an emergency closed purchase you know why don't they make good. Stopgap was down nine point three percent in today's session, and it's a bunch lower for the year. That's down about twenty seven percent. All right. Let's get a check on volatility vix up about eight and a half percent closing at eighteen point seven eight. This is Bloomberg. All.

"On the hotline right now. We have Tampa Bay times, entertainment and events reporter sharing win. He can find on Twitter, sharing K W N for our weekend event segment. Sharon, how are you wonderful? How are you guys? We're doing good. So it sounds like it's going to be a nice weekend. It's going to be sunny. It's going to be hot. It's going to be a Tampa, Florida type weekend. That means people are going to be out wanting to do things for the long holiday weekend. Started summer it is. And let's start with the real reason we're all off and that would be Memorial Day. There is a really really great event, the people can check out. Tell us a little bit about that. Memorial day. Obviously, let's not forget what it's about. And I don't know if you realize that there is a one of the national cemeteries, we have it at the VA bay pines centers in Petersburg. They have one of the largest Memorial Day observations in the area, more than four thousand are expected that Ren's their families. The public are all invited free shuttles from the parking to get their congressman Charlie Chris will be speaking that to interesting that they're going to have US army Master Sergeant Scott. Now he was portrayed in the movie, twelve strong, about course folger's who apart of the special operations in Afghanistan, the first days after nine eleven he's going to be giving the keynote speech on that, that starts at ten AM Monday at bay pines that should be very interesting to hear what he has to say there, and it's going to be a huge a lot of people go to this. What would you say about four thousand right thousand? Yeah, it's one of the bigger ones. There's is there's a big cemetery there to the national cemetery bay pines and boys. Kouts always go out the day before and plant flags for it. So it's really very moving place to go. Another one, I want to mention is Lago central park is having a ceremony on seven seven PM on Monday. And the national Florida national cemetery. Evan bush. No also is going to have one and at eleven AM Monday, there's going to be a flyover, which is kinda cool those two, they say, we're comfortable clothing and bring along chair a blanket, sit on, and then, of course, on Monday on memorial, they don't forget at three PM that is the moment of silence. That takes place across the country. It's one minute long. Thank you for the reminder, that's, that's what's happening on Memorial Day, of course all weekend long. There's a lot going on. People are going to take advantage of the great weather, and the extra day off. So let's start with the Clearwater, music and arts festival. Yeah. This is new, it's a new two-day festival. It's part art show, part music festival, and there have these country southern rock artists lined up for it, and spray even better more than fifty artists will be on site with their paintings and sculpture and in parking Clearwater. And then there's a whole lineup of country and southern rock artists. I believe Saturday's headliner Ola, gosh, you catch me here from the voice Saturday. Sundays is divorced is the Cole brothers 'cause I didn't see them, but they're, they're supposed to be pretty awesome. And you said like it's free it's Coachman park. Start starting at noon, both days. So it's going to be art music. I mean tons of sides Clearwater beach what more Jasper Bryant Saturday in swat. S W, O, N swan others aren't Sunday. They were on the voice insert season. This is got a little bit everything. I've got fireworks. It's guide Saturday. Yeah. A car show. It's got a beer and wine garden. I mean. It's all in one place. Yeah. Pretty cool. And then, of course, eh Clearwater beach shepherds Memorial Day weekend. Our sister station, ninety three f l z does their big Memorial Day live event out there where they off summer. So it's going to be insane. We're going to be there that, yes. Shepherds is kind of, like party central and beach. And the four day music party, only thirty five dollars for all four days going to do that. But each day think the Monday only five.

"Usually the case it was more yesterday. Trump fan. Your cross the aisle. Got a little bit of everything Torney general Bill bar defended his handling of the final report from special counsel, Robert Muller. Here's a rundown of what happened yesterday. The attorney general said he was surprised that Muller did not make a recommendation on obstructive of Justice and argued that there is not prosecutable case we concluded that the evidence developed during the special counsel's investigation was not sufficient to establish that the president committed an obstruction of Justice offense. Okay. So to be clear he was surprised that Muller didn't make a recommendation on obstruction of Justice. That does not mean as some of the media will like will lead. You try to lead you to believe that he thinks that there should have. Because he followed it up by saying, it's not a prosecutable case. He then quickly decided not to pursue a broader investigation of -struction after getting the report, and as you know, Muller detail, Ken instances or obstruction may have occurred. The chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee that would be one South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham proclaimed himself satisfied with the report by using three words, it is over Democrats as you would expect a Wii Senator maisy her oh, no accused bar of lying and called on him to resign. Toll Representative Charlie Chris that you didn't know what objections Muller's team might have to March twenty four th so-called summary. You toll Senator Chris van, Holland that you didn't know if Bob supported your conclusions. What I know they've got this stuff written out, and they can't even read. If you're if you're going to read something. Write it down where you can read it. And Atika Democrat, Richard Blumenthal, said bars. Credibility was undermined by his handling of the port referred to the letter sent by Muller. Tobar say he wasn't happy about the impression that bar gave of his report and giving his assessment of the letter bar offered letters bit snitty. And I think it was probably written by one of his staff. People bar went on the note that the state would Muller followed they phone call, and when bark and firmed that notes were taken on that phone, call conversation Blumenthal. Ask can we have them which bar said, no, those it no Blumenthal pressed as to why and bar answered. Why should you? That's why I wish he would go in today. The house and just give me some more of that. He did in fist that mutter was clear and the phone call that the Justice department had not misrepresented his report. I'm not going to give you the note of the phone call. But here's what was said in the phone. We offered to have Bob review it before putting it out, and he declined I didn't ask you about reviewing I asked if you thought about having them help prepare the March twenty four th letter. I mean, they did. No, I didn't think about why not because it was my letter. How did I love this Bill Barr? I love this guy. It's Charlie grabs. Charlie. Christie's hapless congressman the guy with the most permanent permit tan I've ever seen in my life. I Charlie Chris. I don't know what he does. So we switched over to be a democrat. He says, well, you know, I didn't ask if I asked if you ask Bob Muller to help you prepare the report but bars like, well, why would I do that as my letter? And he indicates there that Muller passed on reviewing the letter, you may say so what what's the breaking news. Oh, listen to me, folks. Democrats never ask questions in front of national cameras on C span and cable news like Charlie Chris, they never waste their time on a name questions. They don't have. The answers to. What am I getting at someone told Charlie Chris to answer that question? Why? Well, you remember last week show Bill bar before he was appointed attorney general it was even consideration for the position wrote a memo as a private citizen indicating that the president could not possibly be guilty of -struction of Justice due to the information available publicly for the firing of Jim Komi. That's before bars appointed attorney general before he's even inconsideration. Mahler by refusing to review the letter that exonerates Trump that Bill bar produced. For the exoneration of Trump on the obstruction charge, which Barin Rosenstein, do they say there's just no evidence for this charge. Puts the responsibility on who bar. I told you this last week nothing happens that these hearings by mistake. Everything is fed to these congressmen. So once again, tesla is about to introduce a new car, I will be there. I'm Jefferson Graham with USA today. You're listening to talking tech. And I'm sitting here with Chris Woodward who is covered many a tesla event. First of all he's gonna preview what you're gonna see in these going to tell you what it's like to cover one of these things. Hi, chris. Hi jefferson. So this is going to be the introduction of the new tesla model, y which is there I sort of mid priced SUV a really important model for them because SUV's are super hot and up to now Tesla's have been so expensive most people couldn't afford them. This is their attempt to conquer the middle part of the SUV market and introduce it they're going to have one of their big job. Rock concert style. Introductions, and what are those like it is a pretty amazing thing as a reporter to see this because you are surrounded by hundreds of tesla fan boys fan women, all kinds of people that are really into tesla. And you're nestled in the crowd there with all the lights all the drama the cars driving out of the darkness everything they can to hype hype these new introductions and it's a four hour event. What happens in four hours? They do everything they can to build the anticipation, so you're sort of you arrive there, you're milling around. You know, you're checking out various little displays or things they want to highlight about tesla. There's a stage there, and you know, at one point the music starts outcomes. Ill on musk. The crowd goes crazy because he's their hero. And then one by one day introduce these cars and just like apple they'll throw in surprises. Okay. And the big deal there is that we get to take a right and. After that van is done and after the cars out on stage, and everyone's still really wound up. They'll let you go to an area where you can get in one of these new vehicles and go on a little test track ride around to see what is actually like to be in it. Okay. So these evening precedents evening events for tesla. Clearly works for them. Why isn't although an Audi and VW doing stuff like this some of them try, but they don't have the hype that goes around it. We all know that certain products are emotional, and they turn people on just ask apple just as anyone that owns a new iphone or anything like that. How personally excited they are about it. Tesla has the ability to do the same thing with its vehicles. It can really get people wound up because they load tons of innovation in them. And they also sort of embody the persona of Elon Musk who was a hero dole ought of people. So that's something that's very hard for Ford to do with the new explore or chess. Vey able to do with the new blazer? All right. You say mid priced SUB. We're talking fifty grant we're talking probably about fifty grand. Now, remember the model? This is going to be vehicle that's kind of a companion of the SUV companion to the car, which is the model three. It was supposed to start at thirty five thousand actually it came in at about forty five thousand and they're trying to drop its price now. So I would expect this to be an SUV that list for less than fifty thousand dollars still expensive for a lot of buyers. But a lot less than the luxury SUV they have out there now which goes for almost one hundred. Okay. Well, I will be there covering the event. And I will have a full report for you on Friday morning. The problem with not registering is then you open yourself up to not only the people who are just ignoring the laws but other businesses as well. So when you're on to do not call registry, you're at least stopping some businesses who are concerned with the laws from calling you. If you're not on it. Then you could be opening yourself up to even more calls, at least, that's my experience going to Doug and Clearwater. Doug. How're you? Are you good? Thanks for the call. I gotta call BSN. This entire issue one. This is Charlie. Chris are rattling the saber this has not this miss really has nothing to do with Charlie. Chris do you not get get robo calls your partner? Do you? Not get robocalls. Here. It's charges money in order for you to stop call. Okay. If you pay sprint. They will. Why should I have to pay sprinter AT and T or anybody else? Why does why are you against lawmakers at least looking into maybe there's some other possible solutions to stop this before we get fifty percent of the calls being robocalls. Just what you just solved the problem. Why do we why does Charlie Chris had this huge investigation? What huge investigation. They're just kind of looking into it and seeing what they can do. Look, I'm not in the mood to get into some debates because you don't like Charlie Crist that stupid. I guess I was wrong. I guess there really is no issue where people just looked at it in a nonpartisan fashion and look for a solution. I guess, of course, partisanship is gonna play into it. It's not just congressman Crist there. Republicans working on this too. Not just Democrats spy partisan. Unbelievable. You can't even have somebody on a lawmaker who's working on an issue that people are. Interested in because these calls are bothering the hell out of them. You can't even have a congressman on. Who's just looking into seeing if there are things that can be done, whether it's the FCC or the FTC. Or the Justice department in terms of cracking down on some of these companies who are making these robo calls. You can't even have a congressman onto just find out. What's going on without people flipping out? Calling Bs on what they're looking into the issue. Beat us on. That call was almost more. Frustrating than robocalls. Coming up next.
