You actually see that a lot. I think a lot in in college just because a lot of those guys are still so talented and so that you can just kind of plug and play em wherever they don't really they're not really specialized yet one area buster posey could've been drafted by the angels in two thousand and five actually taken. In the fiftieth round. Posey started as a pitcher on the united states national teams and drew a comparison to georgia. Georgia prep version of greg maddux. Showing a top three round salad. "Mike, you mentioned this road trip with two of those three series being against division rivals the N L West being as difficult as any in baseball with three of the best teams that appear to be destined for the playoffs with the Giants, the Dodgers the Padres But this last kind of half of the month in July. A lot of questions are going to be answered in terms of where the Rockies go from here. I know a lot of fans were disheartened by the trade. Nolan Arenado. He was just back in town with the Cardinals. I know he got a great standing ovation. I was there for one of those games. Thanks to you, as a matter of fact, and a lot of people now having their eyes on Trevor story in this shortstop, free agent class That's coming out when you talk about story and Carlos Correa from the Houston Astros, Corey Seager from the Dodgers, Javi are bias from the Cubs. They're all going to be in a bidding war against each other, and with other teams bidding on them for the Rockies, With Trevor Story, immensely popular player trade deadline coming up. What would it mean? If the Rockies were to move on from him to trade and how much would they be gambling? If they said You know what? We're going to keep him here, and we're gonna try to sign them in the off season. Well, clearly if they did the ladder and made no move with Trevor and hoped to re sign him that there's a calculated risk to that now. Who knows Trevor could have instructed his agent or the agent could have said. Look, there's a chance he'll come back. We don't know what kind of conversations have been or will be going on behind the scenes here as we get to the deadline at the end of July. So it's possible that they don't trade Trevor and hope they can resign them and, on the other hand, risk losing him to another team in a deep free agent class at his position, no question. I also don't think it's a given that a lot of people think that they should and will trade Trevor Story. I don't know about that, Charlie Blackmon said a couple weeks ago. He really believes the team is headed in the right direction Now, I don't know. Maybe that means a lot. Maybe that doesn't mean a lot. But if you trade a guy like Trevor story, and you're blown away by the the return, then I think there's a very good chance he could go. Forever. If he doesn't bring what you want him to. I could see the Rockies, keeping him hoping that the team gets better the rest of the year and then seeing if they can resign him or just saying, you know, we'll go in a different direction. I don't see that. I think the Rockies have to make up their mind. Do we want to re sign Trevor and they probably already made up their mind as to whether or not they want him back. And why wouldn't you want him back? So I don't think it's a given. I don't think that he that he is going to be traded. I think it's possible and and I've gone back and forth. Do I think he'll be trade? I really don't know. And I know that's kind of a cop out. But Ryan I I could see a scenario you could make a case for both. And I just happen to disagree with the people that say the Rockies have to trade Trevor story. They're going nowhere. This I mean, I don't think the Rockies are interested in starting a rebuild that's going to take You know, 5 to 7 years from now, I think they believe they have some pieces, Especially this rotation that they go. You know what we might be a little bit a little bit closer than a lot of people think. And I believe that to be true, Mike, I'm right there with you in that Trevor story is what would be called a rental, meaning any team that trades form would only be getting him for the balance of this season for a playoff run.
