"I love it. I love it. Awesome, awesome. It is great. Can't take stuff like this for granted, man. You really can't. Mike Ken, because he's got so many things going on. Don't say that. I can speak about this, I can't speak for myself. I love this. Everyone's picking the eagles. Yeah, I told you. Earlier today. You're going to hear a lot of eagles people. That is. Worrying me. Why? Well, didn't everyone pick the Bengals? Last year, I don't know. Two weeks ago. Oh, you mean last week? I didn't pick the Bengals. I picked the chiefs. I know. So everyone lie. You can't say everyone because you're looking at the one who's getting 90%. And who is talking up the Bengals all year more than me? 90% felt like Bengals. Angled here. They got a lot of forty-niners. Reason why people like the eagles is because they are good. Yeah. The line of scrimmage. I know. Against a team that dominates the line of scrimmage in San Francisco. And Trey Lance came on as our first guest an hour one. And I would proffer to say this should be the video that we do tweet out at rich eisen show. It's already going viral. Is it really? Yeah, I'm talking about the quarterback and saying that there wasn't a real deal. That was the best. Well, it's just a lot of niners fans saying how much they love this guy right now. Oh no, I tweeted out the one about him in Brock purdy, but oh, yeah. So it's been really well received. Okay, but him saying that, oh, I thought it was you tweeted out him saying that. You know, he said chiefs, he's choosing the chiefs because the eagles didn't make the Super Bowl in a real game. And the NFC championship game looked pretty real to me. You know, and again, let's not forget the reason why Josh Johnson was in the game. Is because Hassan Reddick got to Brock purdy as our second hour guest. Kurt Warner mentioned, and calling the game Brandon ayuk was open for a touchdown, had Reddick not arrived when he did. And let's just say Reddit gets blocked. Let's say Reddick trips. Let's say Reddick arrives later. So the follow through isn't an awkward moment for parties position elbow. It's on his ribs, maybe. How does a game change from there? The fact is, though, Reddick got there. And Reddick got there on Josh Johnson as well. And that's I would have to say if you're playing the forty-niners when purdy was doing purdy things this year, get to purdy, and get him out of the game if you can hit him legally. That's the way you beat them because they are so thin at the position. How is that something to discount against the eagles? Because it wasn't real. No, they won the line of scrimmage. And as a matter of fact, they eviscerated it on the other side of the ball too. With Bosa and Eric Armstead and all of those guys, that's a pretty damn grown ass men on both sides of the line of scrimmage. And the eagles won that battle that day. They won that battle. That day. So I think a lot of people see that, Chris and see what Jalen hurts has been able to do, and as Woodson mentioned, they could win any type of game. You want to run it 40 times we can. You want to throw it 40 times. We will beat you that way too. If you think, you know, they're one of the few teams where they run it on third and 5 and you're not looking at coach saying, what are you doing? No, that's what they do. So I love it. I love it, man. It better gets mahones. Right? I know. So I want to thank my guests today, Trey Lance, and Joe Montana, Kurt Warner, Seth Rollins, and Charles Woodson, on our Thursday program. Jamar chase deebo Samuel, Deion Sanders. Stephen a smith, Justin Fields, Steve mariucci, Emmett. It's coming tomorrow. Oh, baby. Just for you TJ. Get ready. I'm coming, easy. That's our Thursday show, by the way. I'm not saying who's on for the rest of the week. That's just our next program. This is the way we run. Oh, and by the way, my friend Vince will be back for a return engagement tomorrow. Our cousin Vinny, our cousin. Look at you. He's a python. We'll be back to wrap up this show on the Roku channel in a moment for everyone else listening. We'll chat Thursday.

"I don't know. I don't want to go. I don't want to go. If I can go in there and turn my and have my phone light on. That defeats the purpose. I can go in there like this. Can you see the light? Hey, man. I'm not going to. I need to see something. I heard I heard though he did say that there's a slot to put in food. Maybe you stand up outside and speak through the slot. This is Charles, you know? And he thinks it's hallucinating, but it's really you. Slide it, slide the food in. Yeah. And just touch his toe. Bam. The toad. Saying what, just like, you know, hey, I'm here, man. Okay. Go to the Raiders. Go to raise. And it comes out, and he says, I had a vision. Charles Woodson healed my toe. I've got a, I'm going to the Raiders. Charles Woodson here on the rich eyes and show. Perfect ten documentary presented by Prudential premieres Saturday 8 p.m. eastern on Fox. What a great spot of Super Bowl weekend. How about that? You're an EP on this documentary and it is about what? It is about ten guys that have done something extraordinary. And that's when the coveted Heisman Trophy, and then also going to have a career that's worthy of making it to the Hall of Fame and there's only ten guys and I've been doing interviews about this over the last couple of days and, you know, my thought goes to the thousands could be millions of kids that play literally league, junior high, high school, the thousands that go on to play college football to thousands that go on and play professional football. To whittle that down to just ten guys that have done a specific thing, man is pretty incredible. You know, got a chance over for this documentary to sit down with, you know, it was Marcus Allen roger starbuck. Barry Sanders, Tim Brown, Tony dore said, Earl Campbell, Barry Sanders, I don't know if I said that already. And myself, it was incredible just to listen to the guys, listen to their stories, listen to them, talk about, you know, how they looked up to one another, you know, growing up, especially the running backs looking at guys and in their mind competing with those guys in their minds. It was incredible, man. I'm extremely honored and grateful to be a part of it. And it's pretty special moment. For a kid like me from, like

I feel like ideas have more power than identity, like the excitement, overrides insecurity. That is the only way that I'm ever able to accomplish anything. You must be really functionally working. Your ass off right now, huh? Rich, I'm not a happy guy, man, 'cause I really want to start chopping it up with him, but I don't want to interrupt that conversation when the radio audience returns. Yeah, I understand that. Look, I love this. It's Sunday morning. This is real. This is real time. I love this. CW intercepts wine dot com Woodson whisky dot com as well. How's your business is going? Outstanding, outstanding. We'll have a big presence this week, you know, showcasing and I hope you don't mind that whenever I hear that you're around, I'm like, is he bringing his wine with him? Is that a problem? A fumbled that one, a fumble. It's okay. Yeah, it's all right. Next time. Exactly. You tucked that one away. I think what you did. You see what I did right there? Okay, very good. And then we'll talk about the perfect ten documentary as well. H two H stands for Heisman hall, which is fantastic. Look who stopped by pro football Hall of Famer, and one of my favorites from Heisman two hall is a terrific conversation. We're about to have with none other than Charles Woodson good to see you. Devonte Smith can join you in a rare department, which is a Super Bowl championship, right? Yep. He can, man. It's a big day. It is a big day. Potentially for absolutely. Before we get to that, I'm asking everybody who's won this trophy. That's sitting in between us, the Vince Lombardi trophy. When you look at it, what do you think of Charles? That's what you played for. You know, there's a lot of great things that come with being a professional athlete. But at the end of the day, you know, what are you focused on? You know, what do you practice every day for? Get up to go to those grinding practices, you know, so long season. What is it all for? You know, playing through injury, what is it for? It's foot Lombardi trophy. So, you know, if you have an opportunity to hold that up at the end of a ball game at the end of the year, the last game, then it was all worth it. And that's what that means. And so you had to hold it up with arm with one arm. I couldn't hold it up with both. Of course not because you blew out your shoulder. Going for a ball in that game. And so what was that like for you to be second half, knowing you can't play, knowing it's out of your control, what was that like? Well, you know, if I'm not in that game in the second half, you know I'm really hurt. You know, because I played through a lot of different things and you know, as an athlete, if you play long enough, then you've had the needle and you've shot things up and you've gone out there and continued to play on the field. So for me to be sitting on that sideline, second half, you know I couldn't go. Right. But, you know, to sit there and not be able to be in there. You know, you see certain things and you're like, oh man, I know I know what's happening. I know it's about to happen. But you can't actively be a part of it. But sitting there and watching my teammates, I felt like a part of me was out there because I felt like the young guys that were on that team, I felt like I had that type of leadership role where they were able to look at me and gain experience and some things that can help them in their game and those guys went out there and performed man and they brought it home and you know helped myself and our team become champions. Exactly. And then of course that's something that, you know, when that's on your resume, that adds to your ability to make the Hall of Fame too. Absolutely. And so that I'm sure being a kid from Ohio was a dream of yours to be in that hall. Did you think about it that night? Like, okay, this may be the capstone for me when I thought about how could I do it again, really? Yeah, I think, you know, when you, you know, of course, before you ever win one, your focus is, you know, trying to get that first. Yes. But then once you realize that that goal of winning a Super Bowl, you're trying to figure out, man, I like this feeling, how can I get back there again? And it's hard to do. It's hard to do, it's hard to get back, so I never got a chance to get back to one, but I got the one. Yeah, Rogers hasn't gotten back to him. No, you know. Is it ain't easy? It is not. Easy, you know? Everybody doesn't have Tom Brady's career. Right. Where you've been in, you know, you have to your career, you've been in the Super Bowl. So not everybody's has that owner. Do you call Tom after you saw the video of him on the dunes? Saying I'm retired. Do you give him a break? No, you know what? We text, you know, this was a crazy year for Tom. You know, Tom's number changed. So I actually got in touch with him over the last week, right? And we text back and forth. So we haven't had a chance to actually talk, but we text about what talk we'll talk soon. You know, let us kind of world win life kind of wind down a little bit and then we'll be in touch. On the set of Fox? Possibly. Well, not for another year. Not for another year. It looks like it's got that announcement. Exactly. Taking some time. Right. And just seeing him on the dunes. He looked contented, you know? Like he did look like he was at peace. It really did. You know, I saw the video and it was a common place for me because I remember when I retired and I remember sitting in front of the local media in Oakland and having to say the words that this is going to be my last year and I remember getting that lump in my throat and almost breaking down in that moment and looking at time I saw that and I heard that and I heard him get choked up and then he, you know, he kind of cut it short and said, I want to be long winded. And so in that moment, being able to see it. Like last year we had the written out, you can't really tell really from that. But actually seeing him and seeing that emotion, I know what that emotion is knowing that I think I'm about to walk away from the one thing that I've been doing my entire life. I got to give it up. So yeah. I think he's done. I think so too. Charles Woodson here on the rich eisen show at the Super Bowl. And before we turn our attention to Super Bowl and your many projects, the guy who helped put that ring on your finger and this trophy in your hands, Aaron Rodgers is a lot of conversation about him and he was, you know, as he was winning the pro am and pebble, he said so many fans were saying, go to the Raiders. Go to the Raiders.

"I just see meat. I'm about to eat. So what's difficult in that moment is some guys are wired to just go all out, go all in. And some guys are not. But the guys who are wired like that make more plays than not. Joseph besides a good player. Like he makes play sideline to sideline, so it's very difficult based on the wiring. Charles Woodson says I'm wrong. We talked about this. He's like, look, I don't give a damn how good how great you are. You know the game. You know the rules and you know when to hit them. That said, some guys just don't. They just go at it. You talked about on the podcast, how LeBron James is embracing nepotism. Yeah, have to. One, his sons that Sierra canyon, his last year. Sons ranked like 40th in the country, which is amazing, but he still takes criticism because he's LeBron son and I guess he's not number one. Point being McDonald's all American gang, he gets invited, but he's 40. And they only take the top 24. So all of a sudden everyone's coming at bronnie James for like, how'd you get in the game? Well, you know how he got in the game, dummy. His daddy named, it's like a Peyton Eli with an Archie attached. Like, yeah, that's gonna help you as it should. And I think finally I'm starting to see from LeBron James, some of his remarks. Like he understands what nepotism in. One of the things I hate about culture at large is that they actually want us to accept that we shouldn't like nepotism. When, as a parent, what do you think I'm working for? What do you think I'm doing this for? It's not for my son or daughter to be born on third base. It's for them to stay on home plate. Don't even have to circle the bases like dude. I'm giving them the world and let them fail forward. And if they are, oh my God, those are some brass. I'll take a successful brat as a child, but the point is, you gotta open up as many doors as you can. I'm starting to see that with LeBron finally. Would you have said to your son don't go to the game? Like, could you see the logic if you say, hey, you know what?

"Four two O four rich is the number to dial here on the rich eisen show. So the new college football rankings came out last night and top four is what dormy would you say or the same or I don't know what it is. Chalk chalk. Tennessee as we all know lost to South Carolina and then lost their quarterback and dropped all the way down to ten. LSU is now 5. So LSU and his two and its two losses leapfrog's USC this is just so stupid and arbitrary. And let me just say this too. The number of times I'm hearing about Michigan is being punished for its non conference schedule. I think I heard our friend on our friend DP show driving in David Pollack is like, when you have Yukon as your best non conference team and it's not basketball season, that's a problem. And I understand it is weak. When it was Hawaii and Colorado state, I believe, and you can't. Take a look at the non conference schedule for Clemson. They played farm, okay? So fireman. As Michael Irvin would say, don't lose that intensity. Same intensity. Same intensity. But they're not going to make it Clemson has no shot of making them. How do you know that? How do you know? Put it up one more time if you don't mind. Clemson sitting there. They would need a lot to happen. Let's just put it on, put it out one more time, mister Austin. There's Clemson lurking at 8. Yeah, they would need a lot to happen. Because Alabama is not losing auburn. They would need that to happen. Right. USA loses once in LSU loses to Georgia. And TCO loses. Right. There may be a situation if it's Ohio State pummels, Michigan, right? Dumb and dumber for a Clemson. I don't know. I don't know. But I was just fascinating to me that I guess they put LSU there, what does that mean? Does that mean Georgia? Still makes it a fellow you beats them? Seems like. Why? Because they made the conference championship. The conference champ and then the defending champ. Well, I mean, if they were in the same, let's just say if Georgia was in the, let me just make an example. What if Georgia somehow, some way, was in the same division as Alabama and had to play them every year? How would that look? That's the sitter. Honestly, but they're not. I know you're not. But Michigan and Ohio State is. That's the way the Big Ten decided to put it together. I'm just saying that that conveniently does not have to play Alabama every year. It is convenient for them. It is convenient to both. That they don't. Make them feel bad for Michigan. You want everyone to feel safe for the Big Bang. I'm saying the same thing for Ohio State if what happens in my heart happens on the field on Saturday. Ohio State comes into Thanksgiving weekend undefeated and then loses to the best team on their schedule that is scheduled every year because the nation demands it. Okay. And the nation you say all you want and you roll your eyes because you are my Georgia proxy. You're my Georgia proxy here by I just think you're overestimating how much people care about this rivalry. It's a rivalry for you guys in the Big Ten and the people of the Midwest. Are you watching? No. Saturday? Because it's the game that's on at 9 o'clock. No, don't even ask. Of course not. I'm not watching. You're not watching me? No, I don't care about that. I mean, I do like Michigan. I hate oh, house. I bet you, I bet you, the number one watched game of the week is cowboys, giants, and then number two will be this game. Fox will have the top two viewed games of the weekend. Come on, you're smarter than this, because it's on, and it's Thanksgiving weekend, and we're all at home. I'm saying it's going to outright two NFL Thanksgiving games. It's just run of the mill. It's because of where it is on the schedule. There are two Thanksgiving games. I am saying in the National Football League with nothing else to do, if you will, nothing. The NBA is completely off. I'm saying I'm saying this will be the second ranked most watched game of the entire weekend. I'll take that. Okay. I'll take it. More than Sunday Night football between the packers and the eagles. What do you think people are going to be watching? It's a wonderful life or something on Thursday night. That's not on yet. I'm saying there will be a significant Thanksgiving viewing audience on NBC. And there will be a significant viewing audience on Thanksgiving on CBS. America's most watched network. But noon on a Saturday when everyone's shopping and out and out and about? Yes. Okay. Correct. Respectfully, I disagree. I think you are disrespectful. Everything you're saying right now. Just 'cause it's supposed to be. It is that big. And let me just say this, man. If there's a bigger rivalry, why don't they play it? There is a pretty big rivalry. Georgia and Alabama don't play each other. And the USC with Notre-Dame was doing that. That was a big rivalry when Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It's the Saturday night office. The big game, even though they were getting better, but they're still doing it. USC Notre-Dame. What's great is big when Ed Sullivan was having his day with The Beatles. Rich. They're very close to Ohio State. Do you think which one's going to have a bigger radio? Of course. Because Notre-Dame's not doing as well. But the top 20, aren't they? You have no other allegiance. You love Notre-Dame? Rudy was carried off. We're slow clapping. Movies are made. What's the Michigan Ohio State movie? They didn't make one. I see. No, I'm just pointing out. All I'm saying is that it's very helpful to George's case. To lose the SEC championship game and still make it, they don't have to play Alabama at all. It's not a rivalry game. How's it not a rivalry game? Because it's not. Maybe it should be. Maybe it can be. Maybe. Maybe it should just mean more. What's the biggest rivalry in the SEC? What is it? Alabama, auburn. Yeah. Got it? In state? Well, Michigan's got one of those too. So we've got an out of state rival, everybody wants to watch. You've got an in state rival. Mission, we want to vote. The last time we want to go Michigan state mattered. Last year, nationally. Last year, what are you talking about? Because you got upset. Millard Fillmore. When are they both in the top 5? Oh, that doesn't happen that much, but that we have an in state rival. The biggest rivalry. Well, guess what? They have Georgia Tech. So you're seeing the biggest incident. The biggest rivalry in the SEC involves a team that needs help getting in and it's blowing out their coach. That's the biggest robbery in the SEC. No, it's between Alabama and Georgia. The two best programs may be in the country. It's not a rivalry. It should be. It will be if they actually play each other every year. Well, hey, Alabama has to do their part and make the SEC title game. Oh. 'cause they play in separate divisions. Which Michigan and Iowa state doesn't have that convenience either. I mean, I just don't get that you think that everyone in nationally cares about this as much as you do. Okay, that's because you don't understand. Let's come back on Monday and see the numbers. You have the numbers for me. I'm going to be more than happy. No, it's going to back off. That's going to be huge. What, Michigan Ohio State? A hundred percent. It's going to be less than patriots Vikings. Oh, no, no. I would take that cheese. Come on, guys. I'll take that. Noon on a Saturday. The TV and the college football screws this up, not putting this game in prime time. Well, if you knew the history of the rivalry, this is part of the tradition, is it's noon eastern. Everyone rich. Traditions change, man. I don't know. You want a bigger TV audience, you want it to really matter nationally, put it where more people can see it. It's it matters enough. Nationally. I would prove it out on Saturday. And then when the TV numbers come back. Do I have your permission to put out a poll about this? Sure, of course. Do you care about my permission to put polls out? You want a butter that you were

"I think it's going to be really tough for the community to put it in two Big Ten team. I think they're the shot that this has to be a 35 34 type ball game really close, you know, to really turn the attention on that game to where they would say, you know what? We need these two teams in the tournament, but if it's not that type of game that I don't see to Big Ten teams getting in it. So whoever this game, you need to win this game, otherwise you're not going to have a shot at getting into the tournament. Have a great rest of your golf game have a great Thanksgiving with your family. I assume what you're heading to the shoe Friday. Is that where is that when you're going? Is that your situation? No, I'm actually going to have a little Thanksgiving here early in the morning. I get on a plane headed up to Columbus. My brother, who turned me on to Michigan and my mother who's up there with him now. I get to spend the rest of the Thanksgiving with them up in Columbus. Look at this. It'll be a full schedule for me tomorrow, rich. A truly, but I'm sick, but I'm thankful. Yes, you are. I'm very thankful. Well, and I'm thankful for you, Charles. I'm not going to lie. Very thankful. Very thankful that I know you after watching you do your thing. I'll never forget it. I was my second year on SportsCenter and I'm thinking to myself, my gosh, I can't believe I can't get to the go to the rose bowl and watch them take on Washington state because I've got to work on SportsCenter, which is truly what I had dreamt of doing while I was at Michigan. And then I watched you do what you've done and what you did in your career, I say it every single time. I'm thankful for you, Charles, what's in thank you. I appreciate it. Always good to talk to you, tell the crew I said. I love Bella. They hear you. See what? Them straight, baby. They hear you hit them straight. Take care of yourself. Happy Thanksgiving. Man, I knew I was coming on Richard so I had to have so many the rich eyes and show bump. The rich eisen show bones. Thank you very much. Take care of yourself, Charles. You'd be well. I played Lake Nona, there's a lot of water in there, man. There's a Lake. It's not like it's not like what a golf is different. Yeah. You gotta have a few sleeves. I don't mean because of the weather's cold. There's Gators. The Gators. They're sandy, there's a lot of sand. The grass is different. A lot of water, humid humid. I'm currently, I knew I'd get this way. I knew I'd get this way. I'm trying to, you know, I'm trying to avoid getting hyped. There's four days to go. You've seen the spread. All of today. Seeing the number? What is it? 7? 7 and a half. I get it. Michigan's banged up and everybody thinks that last year was a fluke. It was a one off. I mean, look at your current defensive player of the week and the national football conference. And we ate in Hutchinson. That's where he is. He's in Detroit right now. So, you know, everybody thinks last year was last year. This is this year. Okay. These commercial breaks feel like they're an hour and a half long in this game. Seriously, the three minute commercial ponds, they feel like I could watch Gone with the Wind in the middle of it. That's how it feels. Four and a half, 5. Honestly, those commercial breaks in Michigan versus Ohio State. It feels like those times I've been to Las Vegas for three day weekend, and I'm already a couple of trips to the ATM in at the blackjack table after an hour and a half, and I'm like, oh God, what are we doing? That's how long these feel. By the way, in those times that I was telling you about Las Vegas before working for the NFL. Of course. Obviously. Honestly. It happened so long ago. I don't remember. "That was that moment. That was that moment. And so like Dez, you are a native ohioan. How were you let out of the state? Like, what happened? How did you wind up at Michigan, Charles? Yeah, man. It was really out of the house safe hands. You know, at that point, I grew up in Michigan fan because my brother was a fan of Michigan and, you know, I was always, you know, I'm a lawyer person, right? So it's like, you know, if you like one of these schools, you can't lock the other one. That's kind of the way I looked at it. So I grew up as a Michigan fan. And when that time came, you know, as a high school senior in thinking about where to go to school and where to take visits to, I couldn't go to a house day because they would arrival. And that's kind of the way that it took out, I took a visit to northern, I took a visit to the Miami hurricane in Michigan, of course, missing was always at the top of the list. But when it came to, you know, visiting Michigan or Ohio State, I couldn't go to the house they 'cause they would arrival. That's just how I saw it. So the answer to the question as to why you went to Michigan and didn't stay at home to go to Ohio city is your raised right. It's what you're saying. Charles. I give all the credit to my, you know, when the House state bands want to get mad, they had to get mad at my older brother, man. It was his fault. He was a Michigan fan first. And he drew me to that wing helmet and I never let it go. You were just come from great stock. That's all it is. That's all it is. I love it. Where are you? Where are you? Did I hear whistle? Are you at a practice? What's going on? No, man. I'm in Lake Nona. Orlando, Florida. I'm on the golf course. You know, I just part a par 5.

No, no, no. The coach is saying this is not it. He's getting the sense of it and kudos to him to have the brass to do it and the brass to have him feel like he can do it from the GM to the owner. Woody. I mean, it's in solid we trust. And I wouldn't have said that about some previous jets coaches. So that's my two cents on the subject of the day. And Ryan, we trust you in this other day? No. I mean, for a split second, I would have, I would have said, Ryan, I'll follow his personality perfect for the jets at the time. I'm kissing bill's rings. And then he did what he said he was going to do, and then it all fell apart because it wasn't sustainable. Salary capitalized. And Rex wise, but this is the way I'm feeling about it. And let's go. See what happens. And let the defense have its day and let Zach come back and see if he can be the guy when chips are down. They didn't see however this being the path. 20 starts in. That is for sure. We will take a break. We've got Charles Woodson. I'll ask him about this subject matter. I'm sure he's got two cents on the subject. Charles will be joining us here as we all know. It's a very big game, and it's on big Fox. He will be part of the pregame coverage on Fox Charles Woodson and then when the coach talks, I will turn the sound down. I'm gonna lie. I have no interest in having what he's got to say. But then I'll turn the sound up. 'cause just Gus Johnson's on the call and he's here in studio. Yeah. Can't wait for that. And then there's you at 8 four four two O four rich, number to dawn. I've got my power rankings. We might sneak in a little bit of what's more likely since this is our last show of the week. "Houston thought it. Washington thought it, the Lakers thought, and now here's the fourth team here. And I think that's my spin here. Is it crazy? Yeah, but I watched the nickname last night. And Jeff van Gundy was doing and he was like, he's like, he's like, this is like insanity, right? It's like the same thing. Like they're just they're not good enough and I don't feel like they, you know, this is me talking. I just don't feel like this roster right now cares enough. My educated guess is that they would deal fournier. I think it would cost them to get all fournier, which is really when you talk about that's why you're bringing up this trade. I know the vultures are circling and they're getting a lot of calls about quickly. And I think they're batting those calls away as they should, but the vultures are circling and trying to poach somebody from the Knicks and quickly as the name that keeps coming up. It's going to be maybe it will be interesting maybe it won't be interesting. We'll see, but it's always a fun couple of weeks of noise. A lot of noise coming up Bobby. I can't wait to read the trade guide. You do incredible work for us. It's nice to see and I'm sure that I will be leaning on you heavily in the next couple of weeks as we negotiate this trade deadline thing. I'm coming on. I appreciate things, Zach. It didn't seem like anyone had any idea about this. And i heard you guys talking about in the warm up show. You did make one slight factual error on the norm macdonald. Only one so it was. "That's where we're going right now. Will Blackmon joins us on that Goodyear highlight is a 12 year NFL veteran. You also want to chip with the Giants, and he's the host of upsets and underdogs. A podcast available wherever you listen to podcasts, and he covers college football, So he really truly does it all. Good afternoon to you will, thanks for being with us. So let's start with the giant since that is your former team, right? Um is it a make it or break it year for Daniel Jones, and that feels kind of obvious to me. But like, what do you need to see from Daniel Jones to make it be like? Yes, he is definitely our franchise quarterback going forward. Well, thank you for welcoming me been great to it. Um, yeah, I think it is time. I feel like this division is still quite open. I understand. That Washington is the favorite, especially due to their defense. But yeah, it is time it's time ago. It's time to get going. They went and got some more weapons for him offensively, you know the big sign with Kenny Golladay, but It is time to see what Daniel Jones can really do. He's the first one pig. He is their first He is their franchise quarterback, you know to take over after Eli has gone so Wanted percent agree to see what he can do with the senior ship. Staying within that division, the NFC East and there's some news, obviously coming out of Dallas with that offensive line. Taking a hit due to Covid was Zack Martin being out for the next two weeks? What are legitimate expectations for Dallas team that has so much talent? It's mainly just a question of Can they put it together? And also can they stay healthy? That's the biggest thing is. Can they put it together? Of course. Yes. Losing their quarterback. Last year was was massive. I mean, Dak was having, uh, you know, a record setting type of season out the gate, so to lose him that that was everything but The main thing I want to look at two is also the defensive side. They went and try to make this adjustment. This is the second time uh, first, McCarthy felt like he had a team that was ready. He had to make a switch on the quarter. Nate aside. In Green Bay. You know, with the head coach Bob Sanders. He felt like the team was ready to make a switch Defectively. So he went, um and got Dom Capers and that actually elevate the defense, you know, don being with the Steelers, bringing that blitz Berg style. They actually cater Charles Woodson style of play, and now he went and made a switch and got coach Dan Quinn. Was trying to bring that Seattle cover three type defense, which is funny because McCarthy said he wasn't at the end of that defensive force. So that's why he went with coach Nolan, who also I notice his best friend as well. Stop. I'm ready to see what Dan Quinn does defensively. Getting Michael Parsons was huge. I think he's going to have an outstanding year. So, Yeah, I'm I'm curious to see what they do overall and right and they put these things together and health is going to be a huge contributor, contributing factor to what they can do as a team. Okay, So then let's see what the NFC East I want to stay there. This has been a division that has been. I mean, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it bad the last two years, right? Is this finally the year they get over the hump, But it's no longer the NFC least. But maybe it turns into like an NFC beast or something where it's not not really a joke anymore in the NFL. Yeah. I mean, I don't want to say it's that division is a joke. The cool thing is, it is competitive. You usually have a new winner every single year, and you just never know. I think it's Sure in terms of Super Bowl contenders. Yes, it's not the the coolest looking division. But I think as from competitive nature and the history and the fan base and all that stuff, I think it's one of the most entertaining divisions is because you have the most passionate fans from I mean, from Philly to Dallas to New York to Washington. I mean, they're all nuts playing in Division. I was in a giant in Washington, so I got to see it first hand basis, so it's going to be competitive is going to be interesting to see You know, Speaking of when I was in the Giants, we got in at nine and seven, right and made the run. So the whole point is to get in. Well, who's one of those teams will that you look at and say they kind of under the radar? You know, they're not the Chiefs not to Packers. They're not the box. But there are a team that could maybe sneak into this thing and have a unexpected running The post season. There's a dark horse team in the league. You know, it's funny. It's um I think there are a solid team and this is based on health. Is Minnesota. They're so interesting because I feel like they're they're sure. Pretty much every position on the field, You know, Um Her cousin. He's going to deliver his his standards, You know, 4000 yards 25 Touchdown. You know 8 to 10 picks. He's going to be very, very efficient. You know, obviously, if Justin Jefferson who's who's unreal Can Adam feeling stay healthy? They just paid Harrison Smith. He's outstanding. He's going to be a hall of fame where you got Patrick Peterson. You get Bashar billing on the outside. And you got down to cook and double cook the hell because he's you know, to me talk quite running back in the entire league indicates to me. I think everyone believes that so I think there's someone who can sneak up on a lot of teams, just their respect it but I feel like they're not taking it as serious as they should be. So I like Minnesota to be. I guess the dark bush and I don't care They are, but I think they're a team that could sneak up and make a late run in the playoffs this year. Cool. Will Blackmon. Thanks so much for joining us on the Goodyear hotline. We really appreciate it. We'll talk to you later. No, thank you. I appreciate it so much. See you later. You can follow. Will Blackmon on Twitter at Will Blackmon. Um, he brings up a good point against the Vikings. I feel like this is a team that just like, Let's be honest. Just not sexy like you look at the NFC North. Good thing. Aaron Rodgers is coming back. The Chicago Bears got question marks at the quarterback position from a Chicago Bears fan. So I'm doing it for the whole NFL. Not from my own period liking. Um, the Chicago Bears outside of the quarterback position. They're like, you don't really know what you have in them and the Vikings just there. One of those. I have no idea what nobody's talking about them because a convert the car. I have no idea the quarterback competition in Chicago's of intrigue, understanding. It's a big market. Matt Nagy is come from Kansas City and all these storylines of Can he be a guy can act. The run game. Get offense going the whole Aaron Rodgers, saying the Packers happening lead continue to be elite. There. The reading EVP there. Detroit is a nothing burger..

I thought it was really well done that they fox. The people were Fox. We set up, Jimmy. They surprised Joe Buck. They supply surprise trade eggman, and this year they got they got Charles Woodson. David Baker is a fascinating individual. At some point, Anthony put it on the list of things we need to do. We should get David Baker on on the show if we can next week. He's fascinating. He's 6 FT nine and £400. He usually wears that really bright, robust blue suit with the red tie. He switched it up a little bit on Charles Woodson. But this guy looks like he played football. But he really played basketball. He just loves football, and I know that he's been trying desperately. You bring the Super Bowl to Canton, where the pro Football Hall of Fame is. I'd love that. They've kind of revamp things down there. I don't know if if Canton really has the capacity to do it, although this would have been the year to do it in Canton. Because obviously there restrictions on how many people can actually be there and You could have people in the hotels and Akron and Cleveland if you needed to. Show up because you can't mistake him. It's not like he's somebody else. He's 6 FT. Nine and £400 he get on Lee be David Baker. He Sam Baker's dad, remember Sam Baker, the tackle? That's his dad, who's in charge of the whole Hall of Fame. Seen Charles Woodson be I know that Charles probably had a good indication that he was going to the Hall of Fame. But You to get that call. Or in this case, have David Baker's show up behind you While you're doing an interview, to let you know that you're going into the Hall of Fame seems pretty special. This is a really fascinating list. Of people who got in. If you're just waking up like, well, then who did get it? Peyton Manning, Obviously. Allen, Fan Icka, Charles Woodson, Calvin Johnson, John Lynch, Bill Nunn, Drew Pearson. And Tom Flores. I'm glad that in the year where Cores is doing the commercials. With Tom Flores that he actually does get into the Hall of Fame. It's really made no sense, like he's one of he was one of four coaches. That it won two Super Bowls. And not been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Super Bowl champions from the 1918 1983 season. With the Raiders. And away. I think he's win percentages on Lee behind Bill Belichick's 73% more. His team's 1 73% of the games that they played..

"charles woodson" Discussed on Xtra Sports Radio 1300 AM
"Charles Woodson has been named into the Pro Football Hall of Fame his first time on the ballot. It will be hard to find somebody who has had a better NFL career of football career that Charles Woodson he has done just about every possible thing that you could do. In the NFL. He will have his final resting place. So to speak in cancer in Ohio. Right now, the Internet is abuzz abuzz. I tell you About a potential deal between the Chicago Bears and Carson Wentz. Potential deal just a rumor. Can't confirm or deny. I ain't seen it from Schefter haven't seen it from rapid port. I'm just telling you right now, the rumors that are going around the Twitter sphere. From it. Natalie Angle Looks like she is at 97 5, The fanatic in Philadelphia. Source told her that the Bears deal with Carson winces close foals is speculated to be included with another offensive player in the first round. Buckle up. The name she is hearing is Tariq Cohen and a first round pick. Would potentially be heading back. To Philadelphia, so we'll certainly keep an eye on that. I do think the Carson Wentz is going to get traded with my luck the same thing that happened last week with Matthew Stafford. We talked about landing spots for staffer, right. When I get off the air staffer you traded, so we'll see what happens. But right now it would appear that the beat that the Bears are hot and heavy for Carson Wentz. Let's go back to the phone lines 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. Joe is out West. Go ahead, Joe. Hello. Thank you for taking my call. No problem. The element that I would like to bring in is the real, um most important thing, Of course, that's game day. And what happened to us as far as foreign owners, and we do have experience you know, with fewer rules and I think that last year and it was perpetrated really started with college. Shanahan when he said that right after the game that he thought that we did as good A swell as we could have been in the bottom line is is that he has yet to take pressure for falling apart in the fourth quarter. Because we were a team that was tremendous running game team and we will use our tight and play action. And he was part of the group of Gosh, they've got Jimmy graph alone. So You must have known what he had. And the bottom line is a went to a deep five step drop in the fourth quarter. We need his first down. We didn't need DPR Dejan. We ran the ball early, and it was successful in the first half way had 30 yard runs in 23 yard runs, but the most important thing that he did Be eliminated, using, um, kibble, George Kittel, and, um, that's the kind of guy you want to get him the ball 15 times. He's a bigot, any alignment, and he challenges as far as blocking you. And they give you an idea how much that it was at a game plan. That we grab those back here in his five step drops, and these guys in Kansas City you're coming in and telling him, um, your Here's Kendall. He slipped right out of it as a hot lead, and he didn't even look at him. And the bottom line is I'm thinking is yeah. Kill Mr Big pass for the touchdown. But why didn't we see it again? He was opened by 10 yards. As in the other thing that I think is very, very important. Is that Kansas City? You know, there are racehorse team in other words, man. You know you took the turnstiles. These guys coming at you, and they proved it last year that you don't want to be close to them and late in the game, And so I had Very close to your pick. I got 35 20. On guy. Just think that it's a lot more than just a two quarterbacks. The other factor is course coaching. And you know you can't go into a game and fall apart like we did the fourth quarter by these dumb stupid calls and Um, you know, do you remember when, um, graph Alo got chased out of the pocket and then he got mutilated right from the 40 Niner bench? Yeah. Okay. So now you could just had taken off. And guess what? The head coach Caution hand doesn't even see the place and have his right at his feet because he's looking at at his play calling. He's gotta. He's gotta utilize the coaches that he's got, and he's gotta tell them specifically what to be looking for. They didn't use kettle with a missed a long one, and they didn't run the ball and that's you know, that was our strength goes three things. And so I think he has said he's the real deal. I appreciate the phone call. I'm with you when it comes to Kansas City in this game, and what the matchup is, I Just look at Kansas City as a team. I think they've shown the ability to be able to beat you a bunch of different ways. Like I think they've shown the ability To beat you. Scoring a lot of points. We've certainly seen them do that this year. They've also shown the ability Two, I think beat you in a knockout drag out kind of game if necessary, because their defense is really evolved to that point like their defense has got to the level where I think he the city could win this game 28 24 if they had to. If my home's isn't great. If they're often struggles just a little bit their.

Coming on yes I mean our guy chase is like Charles Woodson back in the day like you know two thirds of the world's covered by water one-third by Charles Els Woodson Chase Rice is dated two-thirds a world so I'm two-thirds of the world's covered by water the other third is by chases ropes. Yes let's keep it classy. He's a lover his season. He no he is his vocal inflections. Yes is come. He's just a good dude. P Then took the woman on a group date to the Cleveland Browns stadium where there was traumatic place on pickers house. They played a game of tackle football coach by Josh cribs and Hanford Dixon. Also also I guess on the show when Chris was saying like all right. We're going to Cleveland and usually that's where all the girls like. It was just like everyone who's just blank face. WE'RE GOING TO CLEVELAND. And they're all just like oh I love when they do that. So that's an old real world trick when they were like and your trip is Argentina. And then when you're going to Yugoslavia of Lia ship and then Eliah whoever you guys remember got sent over love you assault was your map from nineteen eighty seven. It was not Yugoslav anymore shows now respect Croatia Vania. I actually did that on purpose so that I wasn't offending occurrence country. Okay didn't want to get cancelled. Elias shows back up and ask him out of fashion that lived in Yugoslavia. You guys are missing. The most part Alaya showed up. She got home last week so she's not on. The show actually had death squads that that executed people that were fighting against Nazis. So this is kind of a pattern for you in today's episode absorb get Alaya. Who got sent home last week? Shows back up and ask Peter to let her come back in and he did The other girls. That are pissed at Pete Heat and some threatened to leave so is this an empty threat or they actually goal-bound. I don't know this is like a union situation. The the rest are unionizing. Potentially that's that's what it sounds like. Well I mean the whole show is about roses so they're probably LDS say true. I don't get that joke but I I get I bet you it was a good one. Yeah you've probably really noticing roses on twitter. The twitter now. You actually haven't God that's it. Okay great I mean. The weird twist in the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry
"He is Marty Smith who spent most of the year in Alabama or so it seems but today he is in Columbus Ohio getting ready for the big game up there mardi thanks for. Joining us set the scene for us in Ohio. We know Apollo good evening. Yeah. You're right. I think I had five Alabama games this year. Maybe six I don't know most of them. But I'm up in Columbus right now. It's getting cold outside. It's going to be nasty and rainy tomorrow, and we're in the lobby here at the Woody Hayes athletic center, and they are getting ready, man. It's it's fun to talk to the coaches and the players about this rivalry, you know, growing up in the south as I did. And you know, you've lived there your whole life as well. We look at at the iron bowl, which you guys are at and we all know about Janki Red Sox and all of those great rivalries. But this one's extremely special. It's kind of boring off of respectful hate for one another. They don't hate the man, but they hate the establishment on the other side of the football. And of course, it was all born in a fight over Toledo all those years ago. So when you're fighting over Toledo brother, it makes for a hell of a good rivalry. I was reading about that today coming over here. Toledo for those who don't know is fairly close to the Michigan line. It's also where urban Meyer in Jim Harbaugh were both born same hospital about seven months apart. And and it's pretty amazing Marty how a city in Ohio could be is amazing right in the middle of it. All. Is what blows my mind is what you just said. It's funny. I wrote an essay kind of really chronicling the hatred between the schools and the foundation of the rivalry and the evolution of the rivalry with both sham Boeckler and Woody Hayes in the ten year war and then the two thousand six game the game of the century on and on. And there's so many indelible moments any whether it's Desmond our boy flashing the flesh and the I'm actually staying in the Ohio State lobby right now. Maybe I shouldn't be mentioning those things or Charles Woodson running punts back and all those amazing moments, and I was floored when I learned that urban and horrible we're both from Toledo born into Lido. And then I was even further shocked by the fact that it was the same
