"I don't have to tell him too much, but you know, periodically we talk about stuff and we always when we're in the paddock, one thing about Aldo, he's already looked at the race. You know, he knows where the speed is. He knows how the race is going to set up. He does his homework, you know, and because I ask him I'll say, he was just being here. And he knows, I've just checked to see if he's looked at the race and he's already looked at it. So it's a good job. And from a former Jackie standpoint, when you look at a kid like that's one 2000 races and leading rider, is it you must be pride? I mean, not envious, I guess that maybe you didn't have that kind of career, but more proud of a kid that you could help and work with or what's that like is a mentor kind of looking from the from an older perspective, I guess? Well, I'm definitely proud of the guy. I mean, I'm not envious at all because I do it. You couldn't get me to ride. I mean, that's a tough game. I liked riding. I did it. I mean, I was young then, and it was okay, but I definitely like training much better than being right. You couldn't make me ride horses again. That's a tough game. Those guys work hard and it's difficult and it's somewhat dangerous too. So, you know, those guys, you know, those guys are tough. I give them all credit. All these jockeys are doing. I give them credit, but I respect what he's done. He works are like I said, deserves everything he gets. And I can't say enough about I'm really proud of the kid. And his wife, they're great people. And I can't say enough about them. I always say if people ask me how if I miss riding races, I go, well, I miss it like a time of my life. I miss my college. It was a time of my life that is long gone, right? And you look back on and with fond memories, but you don't miss it like you want to go do it again. No, no. I mean, and I liked it, okay, then, but I mean, still, I just like the training so much better because it's not as far as the danger or anything like that. I enjoy watching and developing young horses. I mean, that's my thing. That's our thing. We've long years and years ago, I decided claim in that kind of stuff when we first started getting horses from people and stuff, which we do get somebody. Our thing is buying young horses and developing young horses. That's what we want to do because it's so rewarding to buy yearling or breed horses and my wife spread a tremendous amount of young horses are just phenomenal. You know, North Atlantic, slipped a cable, sea rescue. I go on and on about these all horses were very, very good horses in their career. A new two year, we got this year coastal mission. So to bring these horses, especially even from birth or even from the sales to their racing careers, just rewarding. And we get into a lot of work. I will not kid you. If a lot of work, but it's a tremendously rewarding to see these horses develop into really good horses. So I love it. I really do. Yeah, you're 7 winners. We walked up and down your shed road. Those sources were young horses you bought as virulence falls and developed them to have a night like that. Yep, yep, so you know, we tried to find them. And hopefully we try to pick out the right ones and we've done okay doing that over the years. So we're just going to continue to try to develop these young horses. And what's the key to your success? I mean, you've built an empire here, Charles town with a, I'm not sure anybody has done it to this level for at least for a long time. What's the key to that? You know, it's just started slowly and we've just developed it over the years. And now that we have kind of made our mark as doing well as the young horses, it's just how it's kind of gone. You know, my wife's had a big part of it, no doubt about it. Continues to help with a lot of the stuff that I do with this outfit. And as far as the run in the farm and breeding the horses and mate and the horses and giving me giving me some firepower now and then when she was when we get that young horses that we breathe and just it's just keep an attic working hard and keep an ad, that's what it takes. And when you win 7 races on a card like that, do you take a moment and think, wow, I never thought it would get to this level or what's that like? It's like, wow, did that just happen? You know, 'cause you know, obviously, those things don't aren't supposed to happen like that. You know, when you have a 7 night stake when even at night, like I said, it took a while to sink in. You know, you don't think that everything is going to go right like that on a night like that. You think, you know, something you usually happen, you know, either a bad trip or a stumble out of the gate or anything can happen, but to have it all go right. Everything goes smooth, everything mesh right. It doesn't really happen that often. So we took it with we took it all in and at the end of the night I was so busy. We didn't really sit down and think about that. And the next day we kind of just looked at my wife and said, do you believe that just happened? You know, it was pretty wild. It was pretty wild. I was very exciting. Very happy for the owners who buy these young horses and David ram Dan Ryan, hunter town farm, or provide us with really nice young horses to train every year. So it was just a great night. And for the anticipate question of the day, who is your biggest fan? As a jockey or as a trainer, who's your biggest fan? Well, my wife, for sure. But, you know, it's hard to say. I mean, you know, I don't know really who my biggest fans, I mean, after the race is we got a lot of text message, a lot of emails, a lot of phone calls from people all over the country. Because a lot of people saw it and they thought it was pretty neat thing to see owners X owners trainers from all over the country. And I'm not sure. But it was just one of those nights was just one of those magical nights. It all worked out. That's Jeff Franco. Jackie to a Charles town legend..

"You have it handy by any chance? For generations, Families have greeted the first snow day of the year with joy. It is a time of renewed wonder at all the beautiful things that each season holds a reminder of how fleeting a childhood could be. An opportunity to make some memories with your family that you hold on to for life. For all of these reasons, and many more Jefferson County schools will be completely closed for the first snow day of the year. Closed for students closed for virtual closed for staff. It has been a year of seemingly endless loss and the stress of trying to make up for that loss for just a moment. We can all let go of the worry of making up to the many things we missed this year. Making sure this is the one thing our kids won't lose this year, so please enjoy. They've sledding and hot chocolate and cozy fires. Take pictures of your kids. It's no hats. The one thing I like about this letter, In addition to how beautifully it's written is that you're thinking of the students, which is very important, but you're also thinking of your staff. And your administrators and your teachers and the parents. It's been rough on everybody. And maybe just take a day is what you're saying. Just take a day. There's no blame or shame for anyone who they aren't home to get their kids on soon, or teachers who are trying to learn three new platforms or administrators who are dealing with changing guidelines. Every day. Everyone is trying so hard to do the right thing and to mitigate all this loss, and some of it is just there still so much joy. Way and just that present moment. Just breathe it in and push yourself a little less hard. Give yourself some grace.
