I survived the still alive on dancing with the stars. So Halloween episode Tuesday shows are always loyal Mohsen little sleepy because you're generally gets up and then it's hard to go to sleep after the show. Yeah. There's a lot happening all the one. I get kicked off probably be the same way. You can be so mad kicked off. You're gonna have to be performing your last dance on good Morning, America. How really they make us do that. Just like a farewell thing. Yeah. How about I get on there and say some stuff because what happened when you Lou the good Morning America. You have to do your last dance. We have a radio studio up. Good Morning America ready for when I kicked off like when I lose if I lose if I don't lose cases, they have to have a room set or they're going to build a quick radio studio. So I can still do the show. And then because if you lose the show, you have to get our planes fly right over, and then you land. And go right on that show and danger last dance is your worst answered it. Anyway, we'll hear everybody good. Tomorrow's Halloween that it is. It has a plan out for you. Good. I finally got my wonder woman outside on the turtleneck and the long I've a wonder woman jacket and voice, and I'm putting my daughter's to to over the pants that I found she has this red to to it's perfect. It fits me. If I put it over my head and then down my waist. I can't pull it can't step into it and pull it over my. It won't fit. But if I put it over my head and put it down if it's your butts bigger. Yeah. My hips are too. I mean, definitely wider than her which makes sense eleven eleven. But if I put it over my head fits, just fine. Show. Raymundo in Pasadena, California. There was a possible pipe bomb. It was in a u haul parking lot of robot moved in. It was fake. Authorities are searching for the people who did it in New Jersey at train lost power last night was strain for a couple hours. Luckily, everybody's okay commuters, then boarded another train. Finally, congrats phones he moved on another week on dancing with the stars. All around where we live there. These birds scooters, and it's like a scooter, but their electric, and they kind of drive you. Let's all they're so awesome. They're just motorized scooters instead of taking a cab or driving. You can just hop on them. And it's like a dollar and then twenty cents a minute after that. And you just go the great mode of transportation, they've flied on the street the province people leave him in the streets. It's like Uber even taxi, but it's a scooter, and it just sits there. Get them anywhere. It's great. So I guess Raymundo audio guy saw Tyler for riding on the street and one that true. Yes. So I'm just driving along crow, and I looked closer and it's outside of a label and he's wearing sunglasses, and it was Tyler Farr writing a bird scooter. Can't I assumed he would have driver. He's got a big Jack dump truck. But no, no he was on one of these birds scooters that everybody's riding right now far turn that out touchy artist Tyler farm. That's kind of funny odyssey country star just blind on the road on a scooter. And he was only going whatever they go ten miles an hour. I mean, it's not that mainly of speed or it's that cool. He was just putting along and I just cruised right by my trailblazer. And I'm like Tyler Farr later. Dude. Have you seen any country stars around town lately? Amy, usually or the one that's most people. I know. And I guess I haven't no I mean mayor and Morris Lincoln the last few weeks, maybe, but this you see TJ from when you TJ's neighbor from Osborne, getting your backyard daily. Yeah. His dog was in my backyard almost in my house cookie man, she's an escape artist. So she got out and since now we have a dog, I guess she sniffed out our dog and made her way into our backyard. And then I had a grabber, and I returned her safely voted a Mapo heard. Yeah. Hey. All right. Amy has two kids. One's eleven and one is eight and so you got to automated phone call to say, the report cards went home. Yeah. And an Email. Wow. Wow. Not one I got one, and we both got emails about phone calls letting us know report cards were coming. And so we need to make sure that we saw him in a Michael. Wow, kids these days have it rough. There's no hiding the report card because like all things were sent out alerting parents report cards coming. And of course, I asked my kids are like we don't have one. So. Oh, wait, they were trying to hide the report card. So I don't think so. But maybe there's confused how it works. But I've got a contact the teacher because we were alerted that their cards are supposed to be coming. And then we so we asked for them and still no report card. I'll see what happens when they get home from school today. But yeah, my mom. I started thinking I'm like, my mom, literally never knew when it was report card time. I mean, she would occasionally like check in on things she you know, she worked and was busy in a single mom. And like, she just wasn't all over me. Some of my friends their parents knew everything and they were on it, and they got paid money for good grades. I didn't. Yeah. I couldn't wait to get my report card home. Why all as baby? Mom asked for it. Or, you know, so excited to show her the new I was in school. They didn't care school. I'm like, yeah. I'm eleven. Like, oh, we thought you working at the mill. No, I'm eleven but yeah. Would love my grandma was raising me. I would give him my report card, and she'd give me a dollar a until she realized I was just gonna make all as and everything she could afford it anymore. But I couldn't wait to get that report card home. I turned on the refrigerator myself. It was never put on there by my mom, but I would take I'd magnet myself. And be like, I'm not saying that it'd be no I mean, all of it like, it's it's it's cute precious and awesome, all wrapped in one a made one be author school, and it was in a stupid typing class, not even a real class. Well, I mean taking a skill. Listen, my daughter is in timing right now. And I'm like speed up the process, let's get this down. Let's learn the computer so you can start helping mom ASD at J k l Jake AL semi colon. Do you know that know that song? No, it's the fake or something. I know that that's the order of the typing that I didn't know. I don't have it memorized. My fingers just nowhere to go. But I'm not I'm not joking. I really want my kids to get good at technology like school needs to speed up that part because then they can really start helping me like back in the day. We used to have kids to help us around the house back in the day. What are you talking about little house on the prairie? Now, it's like you have kids in instead of having kids to help you save money in like ten two things. Now, you have kids and all you to spend money on them. They cost more. They don't help. So here's a unthinking if they learn the technology, and they get ahead of me than I can start really they can start helping me. That's how they can help me around the house, not growing vegetables, or whatever tending to the animals. Let's tend to my Instagram. Or my website or whatever funny. Look at you. Well, kids graduate good. You know, I I think so. No soon as they show me that report card them like Hello the school called and they're like, I don't have a report card. I'm like, oh my gosh. They probably didn't know what it was. And they. Okay. Well, let us know. Okay. I'm curious how they're doing in school sank from a foreign country. She knows same same. Do you have an account at this Bank? And he said well, not at this location. She goes why need to see your ID? So he gives her his ide-. She writes down his name gives them some cash leaves. He's arrested two hours later. I mean, imagine if you're the teller someone comes into robbed a Bank. I'm probably giving them all the money. I'm not asking any questions. She writes, she was all business. She was going to cash this guy. And he was a rookie. Clearly, a clearly. I'm just thinking about me if someone comes into rob a Bank. It's not my money. Take it. Nineteen ninety five David Lee Murphy has the number one song would dust on the bottle here you go. Jam. He wrote the song by himself on his kitchen table. He didn't call this producer platform over the phone. It went to record the next day put it on a record. And then it's jam now. Here is David Lee Murphy, he was talking with me and my house we were talking about that song. And how I wrote the song. Here you go. And I wrote that at the kitchen table in my kitchen phone was on the wall. And I pulled that over on my table, and I should Tony check this out, man. I said this this might be hit and I played him dri away the down a dirt road applauding and he goes, oh, man, we cut that. So I go in the studio we cut it the next day. You have it on this day nineteen ninety five twenty three years ago. David Lee Murphy had the number one song, we know everywhere too. Tell me I don't know starting next door and go or do you go to a neighborhood where all the rich people live or way? Yeah. That's a good idea. We should load them up. Ooh. Out of the rent would go down to the fancy houses were they give out full size, candy bars. Good idea what's up lunch box that is a bad idea because the the richer the neighborhood that means the bigger the house, the less houses that the kids can get to you want houses that are close together because that means more houses more candy, right bigger houses, bigger, yards more walking less. Yes. Less candy draw trick or treating expert, but Amy if you can do get one full sized Snickers versus three small size Snickers and you only want half the distance instead of third. It's just math. Okay. I'll go for big houses in more exercise and good canned. Good candy because imagine all the dots. You're gonna throw away who wants dots like dots. Put turds. The should stop about fourteen eighteen twelve almost nine what age should kids stop trick or treating never whenever they don't have a costume twelve seventeen fourteen twelve never Fiqh craze or ten probably say twelve I'm with them. I've always said about twelve I feel like twelve about the age. You don't need to be a teenager knocking on doors asking the free candy. Twelve is the age. I would say aiming golly my daughter's twelve next year. I just can't see cutting her off at twelve like should be fair your daughter came from Haiti year ago, and this is all new to her exactly. So I'm just looking like, even when she's thirteen I feel like she's going to be trick or treating with her friends thirteen fourteen. I'm okay with like toy driving that just seems so old to be trick or treating. You're breaking into houses. Fifteen. Gonna hoodlums you hang out with. Hood loans. Okay. But fifteen you can be breaking into houses at eleven. Anyway, I prefer to hang out with very slow maturing. My point is your daughter just came from Haiti. This is all new to her. She'll probably do it for a few years normal. Kids have been doing it for six seven years. They don't even check into the seventeen. Okay. So she gets a pass. There anything. If he's in the picture that I'm talking about online of okay, there's a woman she's got a baby crying. She's got paperwork to fill out in the doctor's waiting room, and a complete stranger who happens to be this like old man holds the baby for her doesn't even know her sues the baby so that she can get the paperwork filled out and a picture with viral online. And it's the most precious thing ever. Well, good for him. Also, what's up with all that paperwork, man? You going for anything? Oh, yeah. It's just a paper. I get it. But yeah, good guy. But he just noticed like she couldn't like hold the baby fill up paperwork, and he was like, you know, what, ma'am? Hold your baby. And it's just like a stranger destroy like is a moment special. Do you give your baby to someone? They'll lunchbox domain comes in. Oh man comes in. Probably not. Maybe he's he was so warm. The mom said this man gave me hope in a sweet memory on. Never forget. Joe shot Joe shadow Joe. That's what it's all about right there. That was telling me something. Good buddy, miss the Bob. Transmitting? Right. Oh, yeah. Time to go over to Amy for that morning corny. I wonder because you guys just celebrated ten years. Do you get adults that come to you and go? Hey, what I was in fourth grade, you you're my favorite band. Kelsey Ballerini being one of them. Gosh, there's a Fisher Linux CME fast and choose thirteen really awesome Hawaiian print shorts. It really isn't Seder later beat inter wedding. I'm like, this is wild. We're that band. Now that you know, we're with you. It's a weird thing. Right. When I was a kid, and I'm a fan. But now I'm gonna dolt and I'm still a fan and you're much older now. Well, even I mean, our our manager Kelly over sit on the couch. I was like how over you in our first record came out. She was in college. And now she's like running our our laws. He was in high school actually heard so weird high school. To be fair. When you're first record came out. You were how old Charles I was twenty five or six twenty twenty Hillary's college age barely out of college. Peers peers growing up still twenty five it's crazy. I love you. How are you buddy? I'm great, man. How are you miss you? Yeah. Miss you to David Dave sent me bread. Don't wear. That's that's a whole other commerce say I mean, that's when you I mean, that's that's amazing. I don't believe ever sent me. I welcome. Bobby to the neighborhood. Nice lady antebellum is here. Let me say this because this week you guys have a residency in Vegas. What's happening with this? You got now. I mean, the, you know who gets residence in Vegas, Wayne Newton backstreet, boys. And now lady come on John's. No, it's pretty cool. Man. We got that phone call. I mean, we all look to each other. Like, oh my gosh. Do we've kind of made it. It's kind of a milestone moment for us for sure the Pearl concert theater at the palms casino resort and tickets go on sale on Friday. So hand talking to boy cement namedrop, totally your examined doing this dance shows. I'm hanging out with everybody cool just for a minute. And they're not going to who. I am and like three weeks, but I was hanging out with boys to men and they're doing a residency. Yes. I was asking about. Hey, what's that? Like, they said, well you fly and you do the show, and they put you up an awesome place, and they pay you, really? Well, then you go home. I know it's gonna be cool to be like camped out in one place for an extended period of time. You know, that's something that we have never had touring. You're always kinda waking up in a new city. So it'll be nice to feel kind of settled in one place, and we're gonna you know to we've been touring and doing amphitheaters arenas for the past seven years. You know, whether we're open up for, you know, some big artists or headline in and it's been a long time, you know, since probably nine that we've done a theater, you know, kind of kind of tour we've done a little show here and there, but I mean, this is going to be a way for us to combine. You know, what we've learned and what we have and the big show, but then also have some really chill moments, and you know, not to be spoiler alert. But I mean, I think you know, our ideas to really start out big. And then in the middle really have a really long extended almost blooberg type of moment. And we've always wanted to do that. I've always wanted to tell the story of how he wrote in Asia. Now, we run to you and have, you know, some special guests, maybe. Some songwriters, and you know, so it'll be a little bit of both. You know? Well, I'm gonna say this that the February may August tons of dates lady antebellum, it's called our kind of Amos at the palms casino. Resort tickets go on sale on Friday at noon, central and it'd be cool because you could see him up close. And let me tell you out close. They're pretty. The closer you get the prettier. They are. Studio with lady antebellum, it's Charles Hillary, and Dave and with you guys having a group, do you guys have to do any sort of group like therapy or group meetings, or let's talk about our feelings kind of thing. Yeah. Definitely we've definitely been doing than doing it this past year. So doing what like? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you know, like you guys have been around and doing this together for a while. So I think it's important for us to continue to check in. So we've met with a counselor a number of times, and it's just healthy. It's kinda like, you know, you're there with your spouses, your work spouses, and you're just able to communicate and have a lot of feelings. That's right here them right now, Bobby, well, we try to communicate we have never done and I've wanted to do this. And this is effort mation should happen. I've wanted us to go to counselling well to be fair if I could put the shoe on both of my feet here. They are lady antebellum a trio. Great. So for for me a lot of times I have to make the decisions not only a close friend of fifteen years, but also a boss. So you guys go to therapy. Let me know how that work and check in. And then we'll talk about how that way. What? You didn't listen to Amy. Yes. Was she trying to say in that she's reaching out? She's she's a hand to hold. She just wants to spend more time with me, my work life. Winston more time road a lot guys gone for a long time, you know, to get back to the really the thing that open draws when you go there is we've all we're all raised differently. We all have our own little, you know, backpack that we can bring in you know, to to this little table. And so a lot of times, you know, you're just like you're hearing them say something, and that's not really what they mean. But, but I don't know because I mean the way I've always communicated with my brothers. I mean, it's just very direct into the point. And sometimes that can probably feel a little steam Rowley sometimes. And so really just getting stuff out in the air. And it's like, oh, okay. We all want the same things we're on the same page. We gotta talk about it. Process at different. And I mean trust me, I've taken the same these same things back with my wife, and it's made us even stronger. It's the best thing we've ever done. I'm embarrassed to say, I mean, it's been great. Has been Amy. I'm just kidding. I would have happily go to therapy for you. And with you, whatever you want I will. But lunchbox would you be up for that? Would let me lunch FOX worthy. Trio were now going they're kinda got deer in highlights. I cannot see lunchbox going. Ever been to any sort of therapist at all because I go, and I talked about it. Amy ashoka. I've been there. Have you ever been to therapists? No, no. Would you know, go to some stranger to tell me that? I'm we like, what does the stranger know? How is the they know better than what I know. They're gonna meet me. I'm gonna sit on the couch. There could be like, oh, I see this. Yeah. Right. Get out. Let me kind of classic candidate right there. It's someone who's not invested in your life. Giving an outside perspective that you can't see because you're so in the weeds, and so yeah. Anyway, I don't even know what what? Wait. Can I say one more thing? Yes, sir. And they're gonna say, oh, there's something wrong with you. You really need to come back next week. That'll be two hundred dollars. Exactly they want you to keep coming back. There's nothing wrong with us. But there's something up with everyone. You just have to find out how those ups connect. And now you can actually anyway, I've been too many. I know you're preaching. I know. I know, hey, let me ask you this lady antebellum where some new music what's the deal? So we are. I mean, we working hard on it. We've we wrote a ton over, you know, even like when Hillary during her pregnancy and stuff and while she was off I brought a ton. And then now being on the road, we've written a bunch, and we've probably got over sixty songs that we've compiled that we were kind of starting to narrow down and really, you know, try to start dreaming of what we want this record of sound like, but we're actually not gonna start cutting till early next year, but we'll have new music. I mean, we really just want to be really purposeful with this record. And not just throw it together. You know, we really feel like we have a chance to make a statement. And be really honest really present with the are and in our lives and what we're going through. And and writing I feel like we've always tried to write really honest where we are in our life, and that's translated onto the album, but we're in a different place. Now, you know. New chapter. It's more family. It's bigger families. It's it's new experiences. So I think it'll all work its way into two layers getting peeled that I know for myself. There's couple songs that you know, I'm going to almost be like, whoa. Really throwing it out there for people. So it'll it'll be interesting to see, you know, how people react to lady antebellum is here. The are kind of Vegas. Residency in Vegas. It goes on sale on Friday at noon central and you can go they're going to be in Vegas on February February eighth ninth thirteenth. Fifteenth sixteenth in may and August. Show in studio with lady antebellum, which by the way, they have a Vegas residency. It's called lady antebellum, our kind of Egas tickets go on sale Friday dates in February may and August, and it's the big show at stripped down. You could hear the stories behind the songs. I'm such a big lady antebellum fan. I'm a fan of all three of them individually as well, Charles and Hillary, and Dave and we're all hanging out. We're all we're all here really doing really well to be fair. I'm not there. We are. Because of technology. I'm looking at you guys through my ipad frozen. So just so, you know, we've been watching the same version of you. So of all my listeners for like are you in an ice bath right now, you have to be so worn out, you're working so hard. I'm working. And then go do it on national television in front of everyone and and go, well, we are in for you. It's amazing still. It's a hardest thing I've ever done, and it's an adrenaline rush. Like have you get on that dance floor, and you know, that eight million people are watching you about to do something that you're terrible at. Go ahead, and how much how much do you really have to work and prepare for that? I've always wondered like how long days. Honest answer. It's at least I haven't had a day off since this show. I know you do too, but we have friends that wrote the songs for this movie. Yes. Yeah. And I have to be fully transparent like with with the craziness in my household right now, I've been living with the soundtrack and fallen in love with it and have not gotten to the theater to see the movie at so I'm just falling in love with this movie with with the music, I which is pretty pretty fun germy to it. I saw post where you know, our friends Natalie him be Lori McKenna and Hillary Lindsey, you know, wrote for the soundtrack in I'm telling you this on they wrote is hands down the best song off that project. I mean, it's mind blowing. I mean, if lady Gaga doesn't put it out on radio can't wait for award season with with this movie and just the music. I mean, I love the original of of watched it, you know, several times, but but I'm so excited. I'm actually I keep looking at my calendar. Thank you, Charles Hillary day. It's time for the good news. A five year old girl in New Hampshire got a custom pink. Minnie mouse, car visine over her wheelchair which is an awesome costume. It comes courtesy of the nonprofit magic will chair. And the volunteer Bonnie Reagan who built the car the group that does this was started by a dad who has kids who use wheelchairs and his idea was inspired by people like Reagan who made Halloween costumes for metro children's. Okay. You do this awesomely? Why don't we make this whole thing? And then they highlighted this one girl who got it's awesome. It's a Minnie mouse. Click. She's driving a mini mouse car in a wheelchair. So, quote, it's awesome. Because it doesn't make the wheelchair like a tool. It's actually fun for something for her to do. Then. I love it too. And that's what's all about. That was telling me something good. Or head of digital Morgan. Number two. Who's twenty five years old now does a segment cold food world with Morgan number two. Here you go. It's time for food world with Morgan number two. The first ever heard that numb numb interesting. Okay. Morgan number two food world. Go ahead said the creator of grey goose vodka says that we shouldn't be putting vodka in the freezer because low temperatures subdue the flavor, but if you drink cheap vodka keep it in the freezer to hide the aggressive burning notes interesting. Okay. Anything about non drinking because I don't drink anything else. Yes. Shake shack is teaming up with the dating at bumble to offer users a buy one get one free burger deal for your first date. So if you go on a date from bumble, and you gotta shake shack. They give to burgers. Yeah. That's interesting. I did see what Morgan number to you and your boyfriend Justice bees. Yeah. Halloween, be ones easy because you met on bumble them both that we were from bumble. That's so cute. Oh, they're just I know the minutes away from being engaged minute minutes. Just look at the pictures Morgan to puts on Instagram. They all look like engage with pictures, and she's going to post your picture, even their bumblebees. Yeah. What do think about that more to say that? I mean, you know, what you feel you feel? I'm supposed to what I feel. Have you talked about? Are you engaged right now? No. I'm not engaged. I'm just you know, happy and in love she's been imposing what she posts. Because that's how she feels. But more you never to. He will be. I don't know like buying a year maybe next year, though. Possibly Christmas though. Stalking present to you. I mean, I guess that's a possibility for sure we've talked about it. We're we're ready. It's just kind of timing. This is sort of new it is sort of doing. We're ready. We've talked about it last time we discussed this. She was like, no, we're not there. Yeah. So did y'all have a conversation since then we've just we're at the point our relationship where it's really serious and either like you there. Side. I don't really want you living together. If you don't have that figured out. Pot and me Miami's record shop right now. I do feel strongly about that. Because I I don't I need to know how serious he is. What if it's naturally motivated? Oh, okay. Well, yeah. I mean, sure it could be is it didn't you really should be sharing your life with him because of money. You want to be sure? Lutts rich enough. No, not if it's the person you're closest to that's true. Then that's who you would want to share a place with I get it. But I my opinion is gonna get engaged before the end of the year. Wow. That's that's. Yeah. Well, that's food world Morgan number two and more love and love world there. You have. Your kids got out of school for election day. Yeah. The whole the whole schools. They just got out to go election day off its holiday, November fifth six six. Oh, good thing. Where my vote. So November six no school. Yeah. It's like it's election day. They have off. I said I don't remember ever having election day off of school winding kids go to school. Then like next week is Veterans Day. I know that's a holiday I support that. Let's recognize that get it. Got it. Good always holiday, but am I wrong and Mike confusion for having offer election day? I would've never thought the kids were off election day. They can't vote I know. And then I'm like, then you then these kids are out of school, and then parents that work or parents have their kids, and they have to take their kids to the polls. I mean, I don't know. You getting hit with all this. I fall break, then fall carnival then election. Do your kids ever go to school? No. Raymundo voted early hall. Raimondo audio producer it was. So my girl taught me into definitely down finally vote, and it's such an easy process in and out. You get the sticker you vote how you wanna vote. Nobody pressures you there. It's just a simple just going into voting booth and just doing your American, right, man. Nobody pressures. You know, like you think maybe there's like some people outside. We'll there were actually people with signs they were trying to like push you in a certain direction. But once you get in there. Everybody's so nice. They're like, how can we help you? This is how you do it. It's so so easy. Everything's electron in and out, man, two seconds. I was done that's going to be so hard for volunteers always thought of this too. If they're really passionate about one person either way like to get that last minute thing right before people vote. They could be like, you know. Hey for you get in. There was is that what they're doing holding signs and make sure you see it. Right outside of the places people that are promote a certain candidate. But once you go inside that building they're not allowed to be sided at all. I know who you're voting for. No, I kind of went straight ticket just how my parents have always done. And then I knew it was like for some reason there's like five new laws are trying to pass. And so I researched those hard core. I knew all those kind of laws in which ones I wanted which was I didn't want like which law like give me a law example, there's one to get have like a panel of where these guys determine if the cops did the right thing in a situation. Yeah. Would you vote on that one? I didn't like that. I was like cops decide what happens. That's it doesn't need to be a panel to decide some. So I voted against that crap. Do you know any other laws voted on? There was something about definitely what the pedal taivon's totally shut those things down there. Just needs to be an two hour span throughout the night when they're allowed to be on the roads. But during commuting hours, usually when I'm on the road four five no pedal taverns whatsoever. Come up party pooper. Do they hold a one they're selling older traffic? Traffic our listeners who don't oh what a pedal tavern is. Because most probably don't where we live these. It's it's basically a cafeteria table on wheels. And it just pedals down the road. If people are drinking on it clogs up traffic and now there's ten versions of it. Everywhere you go all through Nashville, people are pedal tavern tractor that takes you around town to it's. So the vote is to shut them down. Raimondo. We'll they'll they'll have a certain timeframe they can be on the roads. It can't just whenever they want be driving down mainstream when they're trying people trying to get home from work and stuff. I had to find out where my voting was Facebook. You can log in which is what I did yesterday. That tells you exactly where to go vote. Ooh, that's vote for mine. It was like a city hall. A they gave me three options because says type in your address. Dress. They already have everything they wanna Facebook. They got you already have everywhere all of in your house now. And cabinet right now. Good good for you for voting. If your kids are out of school bad for you wanted to one reason it might be because your school, maybe a polling location. So they do close some schools because it's a safety thing of people coming up to the school to vote. And so they don't want the kids around valid. Well, valid indeed okay. Pile of stories rainbow teeth is new beauty trend that people are doing where you paint your teeth. Like, you would your nails what? And it's like twenty dollars a bottle for the paint because obviously special paint Billick sticks to your teeth. What about putting your mouth, you know, like chemicals? Yeah. Yeah. Good question. I don't know if he'll or that concern about it. But you can get like colors like pretty in pink fairy dust, meant sunshine. I'm assuming this yellow create your teeth all different colors or one color to you. Oh, you can do multicolored new one color. It's called chrome and the creator David he thinks it's only a matter of time before this becomes really mainstream patriot ELO just wrong. After I drink my beet juice. My teeth are read I'm looking at the pictures of people. It does kind of cool. I'll be honest with you like someone has blue teeth here. And it looks like they had a blue cupcake for the most part, but still it's kind of cool as long as it's not bad for your health. Yeah. Then I can sign off on this. Imagine all the people like when you have it like if you're in line somewhere, and you've got some people like, oh, you have something on your sins in in your teeth. And you're like, no, I pay. No, that's called strawberry. Dassler? So speaking of things in your mouth, peppermint bark. Heiferman? Bark oreo. It's a limited edition holiday flavor. And it's almost here and I'm super excited. Now, these are different from the peppermint flavored Oreos that came out back in two thousand and thirteen if you were. I don't recall kiss fifth thinking about them at all. But go ahead because these have peppermint cream combined with crunchy sugar crystals to create that crunchy texture that you love that's in peppermint bark. So I've been wondering since two thousand thirteen they were gonna improve that last one. Taken on a minute, but they have made improvements, and I can't wait. They're almost here. So we just got to get over the Holloway in the fall bump, so I would say probably in the next couple of weeks these battles hitting shelves. All right. What else? And lastly, if you're feeling like stressed or depressed or anything going on. I just saw this tip that soaking in a tub twice a week is better than exercise for relieving some of those feelings apparently a hot bath helps normalize and strengthen your natural circadian rhythm, which can get out of wack if you're feeling sad, or you know, or depressed or something. So try throwing couple baths into the mix. If it helps what about the story yesterday where you can cut it with a cow or that this hot that seems more attainable and wait cheaper unless you live on a farm. If you have access to CAL's. Yeah. And make sure you know, they don't step on you. That's what makes your phone that. Yeah. Always something to watch out for. That's true. I have slipped in the bathtub Porsche. I hate me. That's my file. Gonna wrap it up for us today. Hope everybody has a wonderful day. And we welcome to the show now Eric shy US air force senior airman he worked in the sort of IT. Well, describe what you did. Eric, welcome. And how are you? How are you doing step right into that microphone? Eric theory. Perfect. Yeah. Basically in one thousand nine in their force. Yeah. And where were you based in home air force base in New Mexico? But I went on a three deployments was there too for operating Enduring Freedom and then one for Iraqi freedom, so one was two or an F ghanistan was when interact yet. Yeah. So in it's interesting you throughout this. You were telling us earlier, you grew up in the arms county area. And then you you join the airforce you've had a love of sports since you were a little kid. And at some point, I'm assuming after you got out of the year force. You went on sports jeopardy and won it. Tell us about that. So that was in twenty fifteen and the thing Dan, Patrick owes. Yeah. Exactly. And so how did you first? How'd you how'd you get yourself on there? Did you? Well, the funny thing I was watching jeopardy with my mom, and they had something at the end. Abell exports jeopardy. So download the app and ended up being like an application for the show. I didn't get called on the first go around. But the second go around I got called to go in and take the test made it through got picked to be on the show, and then ended up winning the show how much did you win five thousand dollars. Nice now where the questions harder or easier than you thought they would be did you have to? Did you have to study? Or did you already have the stuff in your head? He I I would. Say the actually the testing on the show. Yeah. Is harder than questions. They actually asked on the show, and it makes because for TV, they don't want people missing questions. But I say to get on the show the test was pretty tough, it was tough. And so you you won the show. Did you have to is like playoffs? Did you have to go through like you win? You win a day. I right. Yeah. So the way that was a little different than regular jeopardy regular jeopardy. Like, you go on the show, and whatever you win. That's what you win. If you win the show, but here it was capped at five thousand. Yeah. Second was two thousand third was one thousand the fifty shows. So they took the top three all over all scores. And they came back for playoff to like. And you won the top three. No. I I was in my show. I didn't get a high enough score to real. I've got a piece of breaking news. Jin review rule has accepted his seventeen point nine million dollar qualifying offer, which means he will be back for next year. G makes you said no chance he takes it. No. I was just going by. What are you are you sticking to not chance? Crandall takes it. Yes. I'm sticking to that. Okay. Yeah. We'll be back. Yeah. I'm I'm here numbers with fifties in it for for Grondahl. So but real will be back for the dodgers, which gives them a loaded rotation. Once again, that's not going to be a neat. Okay. And we're here with Eric Shah US air force senior airman, and we've invited veterans to come and sit in with us. We've got five or six months sitting in on shows throughout the day. What do you Eric watch more than anything else? Now, we've got this great time of the year or the Rams are going. The Lakers are going the dodgers are in the World Series. What what are you most passionate about? I would say probably basketball and football like right now. Lebron the Lakers. I haven't missed a Laker game. And in a fell I watch red zone all day. So that's up. That's how we get time. College basketball starting now to we'll series just ended this kind of like that where they all merge together hockey's going. So so y you say I've missed a game with LeBron. I'm probably because I work for the team somewhat of a shameless apologised for the Lakers. I've sent to apologize for said they're gonna start ten and ten, but then after that, Eric I think they're going to take off. I think they're gonna win fifty games. I think they're going to finish third fourth or fifth and maybe even win a playoff round M. I too high on the Lakers reading them too high in your opinion. I don't think so I think that's about right? I mean, I think they're I think they're various number before the season was right around forty nine and a half right there. That. So I think that's what they're on pace for. I mean for people to expect them to just be shoot at you know, in one nine into I think we're they're at right now is perfect last ten game. Seven three they're coming around a little bit defense needs to lock down a little bit more. But people need to realize to LeBron. It's it's going to be all about the postseason, obviously, April may and June. And I think some Laker fans you've been out of that mode for so long. They kind of you know, what's going on. But they'll be fine by the time the ready to go and June. They'll be ready to go. What he said, I agree with everything he the one drunk joint Jimmy on the Michael Thompson bandwagon when they were two and five it was must win own words again that is unfair and a cheap shot. I say surly would you be willing Eric to give Carmelo Anthony look, no, nobody wants them. Nobody. Wow. Well, wait a minute. How many teams does he have to go through before you realize nobody wants? Here's the problem. What if LeBron wants them? Well, I mean, you get a Little Brown. What he wants? Lebron's going to have a huge CEO over the roster. Brian come on. I mean. I mean, I can't believe that flamed out that fast in Houston new. It would be awful. I knew to be terrible. I said it would be awful and terrible. I didn't expect it to end after ten games. Yeah. He's he's such like a net negative player. Now. I mean, it is very quite as he does one thing into into the do that that great anymore. Cool STAN about Carmelo. So in his stretch, the Houston Rockets, he had more miss shots than rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. He is a showcase for say that show too. So he said more miss shots, then he's had total rebounds, total, assists, steals, and blocks. Add those together. Seventy seven. I wanted to ask you is that you know, you're into data analytics, it's one of the things you do. And one of the things you did when you were in the air force, your kind of doing it for career now and sports has been taken over by analytics, especially the dodgers. And they now basically have a think tank that comes up with a plan using analytics and tells Dave Roberts who to start and what moves to make. We don't know exactly how much control if any Dave has during a game in the World Series, in your opinion, were they to analytical did they leave pitcher take pictures out too early by not starting max, Muncie and Cody Bellinger in Fenway park. When they both hit, you know, sixty homers between the two of them were they to dependent on analysts in your opinion. I do think they got a little. I play poker as well. In poker? They call ABC playing and they also call a style kind of do too much a fancy place syndrome. You kinda just do things. It'd be tricky and all kinds of stuff, and I think the dodgers got caught up in that a little bit. So what's that called? That's call fancy place in. Huge as you have by the way. That's that. That means like when people say the dodgers are little too cute. That's fancying play syndrome. That's interesting. Yeah. I, you know, I think you know, analytics you gotta think baseball such a long run game. Right. A lot of these numbers are run over one hundred sixty two games four hundred something that things like that. And you know when you get to the play offs. I think I think all the decision should be analytically based. But maybe just have a little bit more. Okay. What situation are we in? Now, we're not going to get, you know, not going to be five hundred child thing. This is a seven game series. So I think some of those high leverage points, you got to be able to come in with you are so smart to just basically describe what Alex Cora did you are so smart because you're right analytics over the course of one hundred sixty two game season. You've got that little edge that you use internet's up, but in the course of a seven game series there there is there those those edges don't necessary. Early guarantee you because it's such a small sample size. And so you're better off playing I guess ABC is as opposed to fancy place Indra little balance. I mean, be analytically based that's fine. I think that's great as your base, but you need it. Sometimes a maybe go against a grandma in game, you know, four zero in game. What was that four game for and and into get in? I said. Right there. I mean, I mean that's a one hitter. And then after the point to be like, you know as miscommunication. He said, I was okay. Or he said look at me. I didn't know what like check on me men and all that stuff. It was just kind of weird how it all kinds of ship down. Well, even then why even if he did ask out or signaled that he wanted out then why go to Scott Alexander? And then why go to Ryan mats and neither? But I think those decisions were coming up stairs were coming from somebody looking at a spreadsheet. And that's a question for you, Eric because if you're just joining us Eric Shaw sitting in with us, he's one of our military veterans. We have a different veteran doing thirty minutes at a time with us today in honor of veteran's day. And if we haven't said yet, Eric thank you for your service. And especially smart guys like you when I talked to get seriously when he guys like, you and know that you're investing in the military. I feel a lot better about the state of the world. But if if you took your talents and apply them to sports. Is there anything you see as somebody who analyzes data that you would if I made you Commissioner of whatever sport pops into your head that people are not exploiting? Is there something or these things so analyzed? And so looked at that all these like Michael says that he would Michael what's put in a four point play. Of course, he does because his son could make four point shots. But he says he would never shoot twos. He is. It doesn't make any sense unless they're dunks. Is there something you've noticed that you would like to see sports do that? They're not doing. We're definitely getting better. But I still think they're far off and football. And the NFL is mind boggling some of the mistakes that are just basic kind of strategy and takes maybe like sixth grade math figure out like how do you mean for the most part coaches just aren't aggressive enough? And I think as part of it is going to take time because you know, football's once a week, you're on the podium, and it's just so so concentrated on like that one thing so anything that happens in the game is just gone over and over. So I think a lot of times you get a coaches that aren't as aren't as likely to to be aggressive inserted where are they less likely to be aggressive. Going forward on fourth hour. We're getting a little bit better with that low noticing this season you seen teams now. Like when you're when you could kick the field or go for overtime like the titans a couple of weeks. Right. Went for the they're going for the two point conversion right things. Like that. That's getting a little bit better. But they're still probably way too much punting and then kicking kicking fills like inside the five which is almost you should probably never ever do. You should go for it all the time that you say they should go for it. All the time known that time in certain situations inside the five you have a pretty good chance goes getting kicked inside the five like, which should probably never happen, mathematically, but. 'cause mathematical the thing and going back to what you're talking about. I saw that this team had just scored a late touchdown to go up by four. The only thing that could beat them. You know is is a touchdown from the other team in even in the Rams game yesterday. They were they were playing the numbers. They were white punt the ball to Tyler Lockett kick it out of bounce tighter. Lock. It's a good return guy. Just kicked the ball out of bounds. Why not take all the risk out of that? I mean, that's the type of stuff that. Yeah. That Eric would notice. Right. You know? All right. Eric Shaw is our guest US. He's our co host actually US air force senior airman and also champion of sports jeopardy. Back with more next. Mason Ireland ESPN LA, Mason, Ireland and Eric Shaw. Eric Shaw's here US air force senior airman American veteran as we celebrate Veterans Day and salute veterans everywhere and only that these sports jeopardy champ. Pretty champion. Hey, eric. Why did you join the military? You know, that's obviously a hard decision for anybody. What why did you decide to do it? I think for me, I I was going to to college for a little bit graduated high school went to community college for a couple of years. Got my associates degree was getting ready to to transfer. I was actually going to got to San Jose State university. Because even at that time, I was already really an IT and during then so you knew you wanted to do something with computers. I want to get up in the bay area Silicon Valley stuff like that. So I was going to go to San Jose. And but I kinda started not being as into school anymore. And so my parents there's three of us were going college age at the same time. So they were going to know pay and all that stuff. I just felt like a lot of pressure. Like, I really can't miss this up. Looking for optional things and with the airforce the way as I mean, there's no infantry air force. There's a lot of technical positions. That's one of the main differences in the air force in some of the other branches. So yeah, I was able to go down to find what I wanted job. I was going to be like I get a job in nineteen air force. And I was just going to go back to school and finish my path. And I ended up getting that, and you know, worked out good for you know, when you are on a tour in how many do you want to three of them? Yeah. The deployed three times. Okay. So let's use the first one. Where'd you go and how long have you there? So so the first time it was so for me, I went into the military right before nine eleven before. And then I got my duty station a week before nine eleven so everything can change. Yeah. So being for year ended up two point two. I was in Qatar actually. Okay. So this is what I want to get to because it the biggest compliment, we get Mason. I get it. Like of all we in this. Time of social media. We hear from everybody aside from my handsomeness. Yeah. Sure. And the the coolest thing is when we hear from like a guy. Hey, I'm listening to your podcast in Qatar or I'm streaming your show. So how hard is it for you a sports fan from California to follow sports when you're on a tour? They do everything they can for you, the have, you know, they'll have watching NFL games. Yeah. You know, have the airforce the airforce now, we're the armed forces network. If and so they have a they have some channels on there. They have sports channel everything every main event, you're going to be able to see right. If it's the NBA finals is going on Super Bowl big college games. All that stuff. If you're smaller fan of maybe some smaller market things might be a little harder. What about internet Laker games? Yeah. I was actually the my first tour during the two thousand two final Jackson Kobe. We're going every year and that kings. Final was the best one though seven games back. I watched most of that series there. And then came back when I got back to the states was a day of game seven, and I remember two hours away from my base to the. From the airport. Right. Like, I'm gonna hotel watch the game. So I can miss the game. Actually went home. So the first thing I did was go in watch the the kings Lakers game seven and the one that overtime game seven overtime way. Thank goodness. Patriach Vish mistake wide open 20-footer or that would have been a different different finals. So you're you've you've got that. Analytics thing going on. We asked Lou about Carmelo Anthony. How do you feel about Carmelo Anthony? He had the the concept of him joining the Lakers now wouldn't be a good idea. This is the entire world agrees on it. Yeah. But in now, what do you think John I I wouldn't do it? But you have a problem if LeBron tells you to do it. What would you do if LeBron tells you to do it? Well, I mean, it's LeBron show. Lebron says I want camello he gets anything. He would though. Yeah. I think I think LeBron wouldn't. I mean, I hit it on it already. When Carmella went to the rockets Franken, then ten and this year, the rockets have been outscored by nine points per one hundred possessions with Anthony on the floor worst on the team. They're allowing ten points more per possession when he's on the floor. I mean, he's not playing any defense whatsoever. And the and that's the Lakers. Biggest issue is they need people that are going to defend that for some analytics there. Yeah. The European stats in your mind as a Laker fan. What's a successful season? You know, I think the Lakers get either saying early and that you know, three four five spot. I think all those are up for them all really good possibilities. Get three or four five maybe win a series of two in the playoffs depending on who they play. I think as long as they don't play Golden State in the first two rounds. I think it's very reasonable that they can make it to the Western Conference. That's why don't want him to make the eight right? Because I think then you get going to jump but everybody else looks looks inherently. And by the way, I don't think anybody else wants LeBron in round one because you get LeBron right out of the gate. But if I wanted to go back to something you brought up the Jimmy Butler trade. Yeah. Tell me if you agree with me. I think that's a great trade for Philly. But a terrible trade for Minnesota. If you have a an elite all star player, the one thing you want to get is you wanna get either another all star. Like when San Antonio traded, quiet. They got to Rosen or you wanna get first round picks K one or the if you can get both San Antonio actually was able to get both. They got a conditional first round Reich and they got tomorrow Rosen. Minnesota got Robert Covington who's okay, maybe he was he was a G league player. Three years. Got to reliable starters will immediately step into Sar choose. Okay. Yeah. And second round picks it rook there's a huge difference here in in the case of Jimmy Butler. He was distressed asset. So why? But but he was literally. Nateing on the team. They had the trade Jimmy buck. He gave them absolutely no choice. If you're getting knows you have no choice. Then it's hard to get a big return, Eric if you're gonna do that deal what the four first round picks from Houston. That was a real thing. Yeah. Yeah. What? Yeah. But they didn't want it. They wanted. Traffic's. But other Jason guys are gonna play the other GM's like draft picks. You can you can turn them into real people. I would rather have two first round picks than Dario starch and Robert Covington because I could trade to some dumb GM who thinks that he's going to get the first pick and change the world GM's mcdumber sticks. All the time. I mean, one of the reasons why they had to make this deal is Marquel Fulton was the number one pick in the whole, and he can't play you know, they they botched that. So now they're going back to try and cover their tracks. But I just thought Minnesota came out on the we'll we'll see I actually think Minnesota did. Well, I think they did. Well, I mean, I don't think they hit a home run. But I think that's that's a solid double. They've got to players who can immediately step in and give them meaningful minutes and production Covington could shoot three Saric is a pretty nice player. I mean, neither is a superstar. But to be able to get to guys that step right into your. Starting lineup. Not bad. Eric formulate, you go Rams chances to go to the Super Bowl and win it in your mind or what pretty high? I mean, you think them in the saints for the favorites in the NFC? I would say by pretty good margin. So depends on what happens in the second half. I think it'd be advantageous to the Rams try get home field right now. They're losing the tiebreaker. I think they lose need the saints lose either way both of them are probably going to be right there at thirteen fourteen wins. I would imagine. So who do you like we from tonight? Rams chiefs. The Rams very to go. See I knew I liked this guy. I'm not crazy. That Cooper cups out for the. Big law. It's a big loss. Although Josh Reynolds has I mean cut to touchdown passes and the weeks ago stepped up nicely. The Rams offense. And the chiefs offense are basically the same believe it or not. And I know you've watched Mesa couple ram games to throw the defense cloudy. I think the Rams defensive better than the chiefs too. So that's that's why I'm picking the ramp. All right. Hey, eric. Thank you so much for coming. Ma'am. We appreciate and most of all thank you for your service, man. Thanks for having me Shaw. Thank you much color up next for you Charles Freeman who is a regular on our Twitter timelines. He is opinionated or breakfast last year. Yeah, Charles is very fun to go back and forth with a writer and author a veteran, and he'll join us next Mason, Ireland ESPN LA, and we welcome to the show now. Sergeant from the US air force. Charles Freeman who regularly exchanges tweets with us. And is one of the smartest and most entertaining tweeter there, by the way, knowledgeable too. Well, thank you, Charles Charles. I want to say we had a chance to meet we we did a breakfast while back and Charles had had just written a book, and he came and gave us copies of his book. And we got to talk to you. Then our favorite thing man is smart people who disagree with us, and you are one. And so when you come in. I never I always read your stuff never gloss by it. I don't always agree with you. But it makes me think a different way every time you which we'd love so thank you for for being an active participant. I consider you to be one hundred percent wrong. Fifty percent of the Mason that is proper for you to see what I see what I have to work with your never, correct? So. But Charles both of your parents were in the military as well. Well, all three of my parents, my father, my mother, and my pops the one to raise me. Yes. And all my uncles. You know, good for you military. And so did you enlist? Yes, you doing list, and so where did you serve I served in a little piece of hill called Wichita falls, Texas, Air Force base. Got it north of Dallas. Right. It's halfway between Dallas and Oklahoma City. That's probably the only thing. They're right. Yes. There's a very small TV market in Wichita falls, Texas. And if you have to go work there, you don't stay long also university midwestern state university where the Cowboys trained for awhile early to mid nineties got it. So because you listen to the show, and we can ask you stuff that we couldn't necessarily ask the people who who've come in previously. What what do we do Charles on the show more than anything else? That drives you nuts. What are we most wrong about list? It's not that you're wrong about stuff. A lot of times in John. You know, this particular my tweets you guys off on certain things, and I'm a sports trivia buff. And that drives me crazy. So like give us an exam. Like, you mean, factually incorrect. Yeah. Like, for instance, you'll talk about the the the famous Ricky Henderson story, right? Right. Which is well, it's now been disproven as an urban myth. But sometimes you'll still put it out there anyway. But I yeah. I I understand, you know. That's a fair criticism. Like, sometimes these apocryphal things turn out to be true. Like like I had heard for years. Michael Jordan, said Republicans by shoes to then I heard that was apocryphal. And then the great sports writers Sam Stein Sam Smith on their ago facts, and with in the shut up and dribble documentary says no, in fact, he did say that. Yeah. It's little things like that. But for instance, my biggest thing with you guys, and this isn't a criticism so much as just observation, and I know you do it out of your heart the right way. But there's nothing funnier than you to white guys. You start talking about black issues. Start bringing in hip hop. And the other thing is that sometimes it at least on our show because we don't have a regular black host it. We tend to talk about the Colin Kaepernick stuff more than any other show on the station. I don't know why others don't talk about it more. But we kind of feel like if we don't bring it up, but never get I that's both because of your backgrounds and the way you try to be inclusive. You know, Steve many years. No one knew right? You were gay. But you know, you've talked about that John you've talked about being from Republican, Orange County and having your life changed in your view change when you went to UCLA and now particularly being around NBA. So you guys seem to be more open and willing to express things that other people just want to go, and and they don't get into the issues of it. You think we're not qualified to talk about black issues. So it's not that you're not qualified. Just it's humorous to hear. I strive. It's you have such a uniquely. Uninformed joe. I know where you're going with this. All white experienced. Right. Trying to relate it to write completely black, especially when you say, well, I walk around black guys in NBA toll millionaire, right? The funny thing about that that way of thinking is I really am on that plane even the people that work on the plane back not the player. Yeah. Are all black right? You know, it's like there's like basically five white guys and forty black girls. I would like to inform you that. I discovered my high school yearbook over the weekend when it's cleaning out my garage. How many how many brothers there was a black guy one class? Why was the custodian in the picture? No. I mean that come from, you know, working class white, you know. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, and what I love about you guys are is that you are open to different ideas. You take things like, and you know, I don't know if you guys remember how we I kinda met over Twitter or even Facebook. But it was your interview with Jason Garrett one year up at Oxnard with his dad my dad, and it was just a great great interview. And I said, hey, when you guys want to you can really do good work. It comes up every no I remember that interview. So clearly because my dad is a huge Cowboys fan. And I decided okay, I'm gonna let him ask Jason Garrett a question. And of course, we wouldn't that was the year that there were I we physically called him and had him ask himself. And there was all right. And there was all this speculation about Tony Romo had showed up to camp to fat. And we didn't bring it up and my dad we put them on. With Jason Garrity says so it's Tony Romo really fat. Now that was his question. Asked what we couldn't? I guess John one thing. I disagree with you on often is I still believe that you overvalue the Laker brand when it means today's players in. How would how what's an example of overvaluing, for instance, whenever it is a free agent that might play here. Right, right. I mean, it's not the attraction that you would think it is is not the same as the Showtime, people younger players and millennials. They don't look at brand from the past the same way. We do. I. I would say over the past five years the evidence would support your claim until LeBron. But when they got LeBron that had everything to do with the Brandon it it's much as being in Hollywood with his other entertaining things. Sure. Okay. I mean, they couldn't even get a call or meeting with Paul George, right? Okay. And Kawai says he would rather go to the clippers. Clipper fan, and I don't believe that. Sure. I buy that. I mean, that's Ramona source. Yeah. Yeah. I I tend I tend to go those those those girls that go to Cal. They're all one thing. I really think though it regards to the Lakers in the coming years. I think they need to make a break mentally with the whole Showtime era. Well, they've tried. They don't they don't if you go to a Laker game. If you watch the way, they brand the telecast and the radio, we don't do any, you know, back in the day. We don't do any ties for living. So I can't afford Laker tickets. But let me just say this. What's been the most successful period of time poll Showtime, the Kobe Shekar Phil Jackson came from a totally different organization with no ties to the Lakers. I think that's what they need to do. I think the I think you'd be surprised at how much the Lakers actually with you on that. But let me ask you something else. Because you listen to the show regularly a point of contention between Mason, I and Greg's part of this too. And since there's three people voting, I always lose. I would would prefer to take more. To get people to call the show. Mason hates calls. He doesn't eat listeners today listeners. He hates calls. He thinks basically I'm going to be blunt. He thinks the callers are dopes. All right. You listen with a critical ear should we continue to keep the focus on the two of us and not take calls or should we work? If you calls in there. Sometimes I think you should work calls in on certain special situations. Like, what's an example? Well, if something really big break, right? If for instance, if Kershaw head not come back to the correct Klay Hilton gets fired thinking. I think he might. After the dodgers lost the series took calls. But normally if you listen to most callers there idiot. Yeah. Yeah. Don't want you guys to turn into screaming a Smith. They go up that will not happen. Never will never will. Mason in Ireland Charles Freeman sitting in with us as part of our Veterans Day promotion more veterans to come including a special fast-track at the top of the hour. ESPN LA Mason Ireland and Charles Freeman Charles Freeman in helping out today. Charles. Sergeant in the US air force from seventy three to seventy seven. He's guest hosting today in honor of veteran's day, and very knowledgeable and opinionated guy. And by the way, let me just say this. Thank you for doing this. This is something that I don't know. If you guys realize how good this is. And how special is when I will let my friends know about it. They were so proud, and the fact that you are honoring veterans this way, I just want. Nice. And I'm frankly. I'm a little disappointed that we didn't think of this before. This is really fun. We're well. We'll do it again for sure. Charles one thing that came up during the break, we're sitting in here. What did you think when the chargers moved here? The chargers. Move up here. The Rams move up here. The chargers seem like a team without a country. The San Diego are mad at him that they moved LA doesn't want them. Where does that go from here? Well, my first professional sports was nineteen sixty four chargers against buffalo at the Balboa stadium if ill. Okay, that was when they were the LA chargers. The first time they were sending down in. Okay. It hurts me to see the charges here in Los. And even though it's easier for me to get to. But you know, the Spanos I don't understand how you can be developers and not develop a stadium in San Diego for fifteen years that just boggles the mind, I think they will always be the clippers of football here in LA. No matter what they do. And it's sad because they left the city behind the just totally dedicated to them, you gotta we started. There. We love. Get my mother got wrestler. So is buried wearing her sandiego superchargers t-shirt underneath her business while my family was pure chargers. That was our first professional team and. Ironically, the very good right now. And you know, what he said to me that that? Well, if they you know, the thing they should do is turn around and go back, but they've signed a lease in. It's right. But but these can be broken. But the thing here's here's a bigger question. If they did if they just said, you know, what we made a mistake would they be welcome back. My sense is that they probably would not be welcome. I mean, you know, we were friends with those guys Scott and Billy Ray who are ninety. They hate them. They root against them every single week. You know, where they blew it Charles. They blew it after they went to the Super Bowl was at the ninety five Super Bowl ninety four ninety five Super Bowl. There was a moment there where they had carte blanche. They could ask for anything they wanted and instead of asking for a new stadium they asked for renovations to whether that time was Jack Murphy, and that was there one bite at the apple and they poisoned the will when the ticket guarantee with the city came out. Right. And instead of saying, hey, look, we made a mistake. We shouldn't have done this dean Spanos said it's a deal. I don't care, you know. Well, what I always thought what happened was NFL owners print money, and they didn't want to pay for their own stadium. So they said, well, we're not gonna pay for it. And they put it on the ballot. And it got voted down. I don't think the citizen should have to pay for it. But here's the thing. It's San Diego the NFL should've paid for it. If the NFL builds the stadium in San Diego, they own it. They put a Super Bowl in there. Every three or four years they use it for their events. Why wouldn't that make sense NFL doesn't want to get involved in running a stadium? But the NFL owners don't need to pay for a stadium. Why why should they come because they got rid of my baby. Thank you make money the steam, then every five years. No, that's charters would play in it. That's what I'm saying. The chargers would play build a stadium for the chargers. The NFL owns the chargers are tenants. Okay. Right. You give them a sweetheart deal that takes care of the spannis. Then you hold the Super Bowl. They're three and four years and all the owner's pocket the money. Okay. Since then say they did that back then that means there's no new stadium and Santa Clara. There's no new stadium in Philadelphia. There's no new state because those places are going to say, hey, Bill your own stadium. Well, the that is true. They would they would still move the Super Bowl around. But I don't I've never understood what he's saying is. Well, if there there are publicly funded stadiums in Minnesota, and I'm trying to. If those if the NFL starts volunteering money to build a stadium. Well, then what's the incentive for other communities come up with tax money to be able to build stadium? I don't think I don't think community should have that. They have. I mean, I didn't vote I'm against it. To leverage the NFL has had all these years to not spend their own money. Right. And we'll see how this ends with the chargers. I mean, they are having like you say Charles an excellent season. They you can't kind of. Here's the thing. I know how ends they're going to be in that new stadium. They've already sold personal seat licenses. They're much less expensive than the personal seat licenses for the Rams, but in order to pick up and move. Now, you've got to break a whole bunch of contracts. You've got break a contract with STAN Kroenke, and he's using that charger money to help build the stadium. You've got break contracts with everybody who signed a personal seat license guarantee. I mean, those those are the deals so they're going to be there. Whether we want him or not. That's part of the deal with the whole NFL entertainment and the network being over there. So they're stuck and only way even if what Steve said is true about the lawsuits if deck and magically go away, the San Diego's not taking the Spanos family back that that that. Yeah. You mentioned that sometimes clippers fan. Do you agree with me that the clippers will never get out of this shadow there in until they get their own building. I don't care if it's an angle would. I don't care if it's in Seattle. I don't care if it's an Anaheim or in Vegas as long as the clippers playing the Lakers building, they'll never get an identity as long as they play in the state of California. They're not going to have an identity. You think they need to go to Vegas or go to Seattle? I do not understand for life and be while bomb or does not take this team to Seattle he'd be he'd be hailed as a conquering hero. And you have everything to yourself being be even when they moved to Inglewood. They're always going to be second class. No matter what you think about this city. This is a Laker dodger city, it always has been and always will be I'll be curious because if you go over I went over, and I did buy personal see licenses. Yikes. And I saw the rendering said got like the models of what it's gonna look like. They've got the new clippers arena in all of those little models. And if he does go ahead and build a state of the art arena. It gives them a chance, but I agree with John as long as they play across the street. They're never gonna have any clipper situation buddy of mine lives in Dallas when the Mavs won. He took his kids to the parade. I said how was it? He said, it was great and some of those over people go. So what do you think the Cowboys are to? Right. Cared. Yeah. It's a hundred percent true. Last question. Real yet. You guys are Commissioner of sports all sports one day. Okay. What one big change? Would you make an I whatever I say goes. Yes. I would put guaranteed contracts into the NFL. I think the way the NFL good is structured is completely ridiculous that a guy can sign one hundred million dollar contract. And he gets hurt a month in they just tear it up and don't pay him. That's what I would do. I think that is the biggest problem because I think it's going to end up Mace. We're we're going to have a work stoppage in the NFL because the owners won't give I will go. Eliminate all salary caps. I do not believe in socialism. And I believe the player should be able to make as much as they are able to earn the problem with that is I would try and talk down to some type of soft cap. Just because if you if you just blanket eliminate every cap. Charles. I'm curious if you agree with this. I think every player would end up in LA or Miami. Because if there's no cap at all and like only so much room. Wouldn't it though? Think about the Rams owner. He is a billionaire Maryville WalMart billionaire we could what why wouldn't we go out and just pay the best player every position run on our team should be making. What Lionel Leo Messi is making agree is worth that migrate. But what I'm saying is if you the the Lakers have TV deal that would allow them to sign LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Damian Lillard and everybody would come here. Think about this. What these guys are making now in NBA top salary in the thirties twenty years ago. Michael Jordan may thirty two million dollars a season twenty years ago, and there's been knowing would you pay Michael Jordan now on the open Martin nets request. Yeah. I, but I think there is. I think your point is a good one and there's room to maneuver, but you'd have to come up with a mechanism that would allow for competitive. See I'm a strong believer in capitalism. I do not believe in artificial restraints on what? People should and should not make Gye capitalist maybe band, just one his loss. Yeah. That's true. That's true. Easy only way he's table could actually by team. So he's arguing against himself g or delete. The hey, Charles. Thank you for doing. This man time coming. You've been a great listener. And and and we love the way you participate through social media, and please keep it up. Appreciate your service. No callers. And no, callers this is spoken. This guy. Can't get anybody on my side. All right coming up next Christian Florez who has been here before he will do a very special today again, very special. Well, no, he did Christian was in the Marine Corps. We challenged him over a year ago. We said not just him. But anybody we said if you to Mason in Ireland on your body will let you come host fast-track Christian got the tattoo came in hosted faster completely killed it. Yep. So then we changed our logo. We're not making them get another one. And then when we came up with the military idea like we're gonna have veterans in Veterans Day, we thought of Christian right away coming up. All right, Charleston. Create your service, Mason, Ireland ESPN LA.

It's been going pretty well. Well, that's good. I mean for the most part, I don't know if you've noticed, but the the internet can be kind of mean place, and yeah. Yeah. For the most part all we hear about this show as positive which I guess means. We're doing something, right? Right. Unless we, you know, put your name or two, but yeah, we're usually pretty on it. Well, that's all right. Maybe that's what they like is the honesty. Right. That's what it is. Let us know how great we're doing and for not doing so good. Just don't worry about it move on. Yeah. Just ignore that part. We don't wanna hear about any four star reviews. No, definitely not we want five and above so five and above is the requirement. Otherwise, you're not allowed to listen to us anymore. Seriously. Why are you even listening? If you don't think it's five star wool. No, don't well. We'll reach in and grab your eardrums. That sounds painful the exactly so you don't want that wish upon yourself right now. Definitely I have a feeling Kerry. The you know, Jimmy Johnson had a really bad year last season. And you're hoping for big return. I think we're gonna have some Jimmy Johnson the show this week. Just got a feeling I can feel it in my loins. Well. There was a sign. I was given a sign this week. And I'm checking out my phone, and I what's the weather like in the area. Oh, okay. That's good. That's you know, LA's pretty pretty night. Oh, wait a minute for the next seven days. The low is forty eight. Yeah. So what you're telling me is that you're able to Photoshop your weather for the week. But you weren't able to change the background to white in your photo for the hard card this year. Exa-? Well, yeah, you're blaming me for something that I could possibly not do in the amount of time needed. I just don't have that kind of time. I am just far too lazy? Why would I do that? That literally is a screen shot from the weather from my area and the low for the entire week full seven days is forty eight degrees. That's my sign. That's that's why on this show later on. We will have a Jimmy Johnson. Bowl while since we've heard the old bonanza. That's nice. Yeah. We had a dust that off we had a dust that off. Hey, also, we've we should Pat ourselves on the back. We've done a remarkable job of keeping the fresh interviews coming. That means that back, Texas and Phoenix we did. So many interviews that it is literally lasted us until this week where we don't have an interview. So what I thought is I'm gonna pick my favorite interview from last year that I did and the next week. I'll give you some time to think about it. It'll lead Toby's pick. So this week. Ryan Blaney my favorite interview from last year. Wow. You know instead of that. If we didn't want to recycle something that has been done before we could just been an entire interview segment going down the sponsorship package for Doherty racing. This year, we're going to do that too. But I figured this would help it was just a joke. There's a lot. Got it. I got an also we have a driver spotlight from William Byron. So you see if it's Jimmy Johnson. It's a bonanza if it's anybody else. It's just a spotlight. I understand now. Yeah. See, that's that's my thinking. How do we rank bonanza of spotlight though, what determines which ones higher? We say. At bigger we add some echo later on in post production. And that's why it's bigger, right? So that's the one thing we won't be persimmon ass- about is the the echoing. That's good. It'll be more like driver spotlight. William byron. Yeah. Something like that. Right. So that's that's what you have to look forward to on the show now that we've wasted like five minutes of the intro. We haven't gotten to anything. So like, you mentioned J J TD or racing is gonna have a bunch of different paint. Schemes this season for both of their cars driven by Chris butcher. And Ryan Preece seven different themes all related to the Kroger supermarkets and their various services didn't know supermarkets had various services, but all right? Butcher said quote. I'm really excited to showcase our brands and a really unique marketing approach the season on the number. Thirty seven Chevrolet Camaro z l one end quote, right? And there's a bunch. Now. I don't correct me if I'm wrong. This doesn't seem all that revolutionary. This is how target that did things. Well, yeah. But this is target did this. But they would just have target on the car with light little logos. All around it. This is a total like different marketing deal seven times throughout the year. The way they're going to do this seven different months. They're doing a bunch of different possible things you could do groceries around the store, which kind of cool. I think I except for the fact that when I go to interview drivers in this case, Chris butcher and Ryan priests. I usually ask them for a liner. You know? Hi, this is Chris butcher. And you're listening to the final app or. Hi, this is Chris butcher driver of the in. Which case he's going to have like ten minutes to fill. I am Chris butcher driver of the Kroger flavored Philip speed up your clean up. It's. Yeah. So I don't know how that's gonna work. Well, I'm sure he'll just simplify it by saying Kroger. Well, see they didn't consult with us is the problem. I'm having with this. Right. We got in the Email. I were they should have told us. Hey heads up on on your line or requests. Might be a little a bit long. How often do we do line or requests anymore, by the way, I do them when I know? I don't have them in the Bank ready. Right. And then we don't ever use them while I do on the radio show. Let's do more often hear that way. It sounds like the actual of the show even though they don't all right. That means more work for me. But whatevs it's all about you have minute dropbox somewhere. Just plop men, man. Yeah. You make it sound all easy and stuff. Well, okay. Yeah. That's able to cut out all the different times you have to retake before a segment starts. You could definitely throw in a file of Jimmy Johnson going. Hey, this is Jimmy Johnson driver, the number forty eight low Chevrolet, I could do that except for now it needs to be ally Bank. So you're in trouble. Well, see that would be an instance, where if we were to get an interview with him, we would re ask for the liner. Or we can just cut the car out the say Jimmy Johnson. Now, you're listening to the file well I've done that too. Let's good. Why are we still talking about this? I don't know how this tangent started. But there are a lot. I mean all law. What I wouldn't even I don't want to read this because just go to Toby Christie dot com and check out the massive list of different sponsors. That's going to be on these two cars. I while all the list you have. Here's what's on Bush car. That's what I mean. Yeah. Preece is a little bit more simple, actually. But. Yeah. Well, this is I mean, they should have. I think they're kind of devaluing things to be honest because I mean think they're devaluing things. Yes. Because why couldn't a team go to general mills, for instance, and say I want sponsorship for the whole year because you're mills a, hey, we're paying a lot less. And now it's like a special feature every every month. Right. That's devaluing things. He just made my point devaluing it for the teams. But it's adding value for the sponsor, but it's not helping the sport. So now every car out there is going to have to have like eight million sponsors just to get by. Well, you say that. But there's two cars here that are fully funded that have not one race. What the last five seasons? That's pretty good. But what if say ally Bank says all right? Well, forget this Jimmy Johnson noise. I'm gonna go over here and be a little tiny sticker. Okay. But they get a little sticker. Now, that's a lot of millions of dollars. Not in the sport. Uh-huh. Devaluing devaluing all know, it'll actually add value because then the teams will be forced to spend less because they're making less, and it'll be a nice little thing. Wherever Bill be kind of equal. All right Todd on Europe. Todd gillan. Oh, yeah. He will run the full season in the Kabua's more sports number four truck. I wrote about this this week. He came so close to win last year half lap away. If memory serves, which it does because I was there on hand to any hopes to nail down that I loose trip to victory lane in one of the best trucks in the garage area. Todd son of David gale. And by the way, does have twelve top ten finishes and just twenty five starts in that season in that series not that season. And that race where he was half a lap. Short of the win was Texas last November. That was just just aggravating. He ran out of gas thin. I was yelling you were. You were that passionate about it. I was well, I don't see you yelling about many people other than Jimmy Johnson. Well, I like. To see believe it or not I like to see the younger guys do well that really surprises me. Actually. I know it would I knew it would see I come off as this guy who doesn't care, but my care. Okay. Well, that's good that that makes me feel good about new caring. All right. You're gonna notice a lot of these stories are plucked right from Toby Christie dot com, but not this one. I mean, not yet. Anyway. Race cars on the race track. This weekend. I could not be more excited. See that would be the level of excitement. Of course, it's the Rolex twenty four hour endurance race from Daytona racing. Notables in the race include Juan Pablo on toyah, so expect a big fireball at some point Fernando Alonzo. He's a Formula one superstar Helio Elliott Castro. Neves Alexander Rossi Simon pageant. Scott dixon. Austin syndrich Justin marks AJ, almond Dinger and more. Check out all the action this weekend, mostly on NBC or their mobile app. Right. So this brings a question to my mind carry if you were in the Rolex twenty four, and you one what would you what would you do with your twenty four Rolexes? I would put them up and down both arms at various different sizes. And it would just be my sleeves. That is ridiculous. That'd be my slaves. That's absolutely ridiculous. And I would have all the time zone set comedy. That's actually the right amount of time to that's perfect. So that well, see, I know stuff. And then if somebody I'm walking down the street with twenty four Rolexes if I don't get mugged and someone walks up to me and asks what time is it in Bulgaria? I'll know right. Although I think if somebody was trying to mug you they'd look at and go, maybe this is trap. He's twenty four of them. Just hanging out there. I don't think that would be a wise thing to do wearing one Rolex. You're putting your life at risk, right? So you'd had twenty four twelve on each arm. You're gonna walk away with no arms. Rip the arms out and take him for the Rolexes. So that I would be just a walking torso. Yes. Of course. Hey, five time winner. Scott Pruitt is going to be the grand Marshall. That's pretty cool. That's awesome. And I think he deserves a spot in the NASCAR hall fame someday. You got well. Oh, no. We're going to save this next one for later. So don't say anything about that one. Okay. Yeah. See now, people are really what was the next story. What what are they they actually remember that is the that's. Knowing us that is the ultimate tease right there. But up next my favorite interview from the twenty eighteen NASCAR season that I went one on one with Ryan Blaney. So listen to it again and enjoy T F L ws on forty Jimmy Johnson. And I get my news on the final lap with Kerry. Murphy. This is the final land weekly. On the final. Once again is a Ryan Blaney. Welcome to the program. Thanks, all right. Last time. We talked you hadn't yet seen solo. So I gotta get your thoughts. Changed by now. Right. Come on what Mr. Star Wars. I read the reviews and heard bad things. And I just didn't wanna go see it. All right. I actually was on a flight to Hawaii. And it was on the plane. I could only get through half of it. Really? Oh, just because. Oh, I didn't like it. Having seen it goes. I don't want. I want to be so disappointed. That's weird. Isn't it? I mean, are they just making too many of these or what? Question, you know, about Star Wars about, you know, all these ones that are coming out just in a short amount of years. And I thought what made him so special four was you know, the waiting period between the now, you're just pumping them out. Sometimes too much of a good thing. You know, doesn't make a special anymore. So the might be pumping about a little bit too fast. Here the patient in the build up one of these movies. I think is what who what is part of it. So we'll see excited about the whole Star Wars area of Disneyland coming. I am. I'm very excited about it. Reading about the no tell their boom, and I can't wait to book my book by -cation down there. Very cool. All right. You did some offloading. I guess recently with your your truck for your sponsor discount checking out their tires discount tire. And Goodyear, they did a little collab-. They're made made some videos, and and that was a lot of fun. We had a raptor and user new new all terrain tires and men they're super cool and take anywhere. Now's a fun day. You know, there's a lot of these production days that kind of same thing you take photos do that. But that one was some of the most fun just because we have to tear up go through the woods and off road. And that does pretty cool. So we're kind of putting those videos out a little bit kind of giving sneak peeks, and I think too. I don't wanna coming out here. Pretty soon where it kinda shows everything and the cool stuff is in that video. The I two is like the build over talking about. But it was it was a fun shoot. And it's cool to finally get out. They're they're not my sponsor. But I gotta say discount tire has the best customer experience. I'm in and out of there so fast. Yeah. I mean, I I would say that even if I wasn't even if they weren't a partner of ours just because time I've been into their stores, and you know. They don't know who I am. Customer services is second to non so, that's that's that's people come up to mellow time. You know, saying I love discount tire because there with you guys because their services is amazing. So yeah, that's it's a very rare company to do what they do for not only their customers for their employees to is really really cool and just really special to be a part of what they're doing very professional for. Sure. Hey, you got the pole at Texas super fast. Is that going to be kind of the last time? We see speeds like that. Yeah. I mean, I see speech. I that for a while here told people in the media center after that enjoyed appreciate it because you won't see that here next year. Just with the way the rules are fast Friday night qualify super fastest school to get the poll there. One of that poll award for a long time. They give you a really cool Henry repeating repeating rifle, and I can't wait for it to get shipped to my house. So I'm excited for that. But we came close to winning some six shooters to still work out. So they give them to you. And then they take away from you again. Yeah. So they have to ship them to you like a gun broker. Ship it to you can't just take it home with some legal thing. But hopefully, it comes here soon. Larry go. There you go. Recently. I mean drivers usually have to audit graph things like your hero cards and die cast cars, but you had to autograph tops of bottles of your sponsor. We did. Yeah. So. So Texas, they opened up that new gas station outside. They had a lot of body armor in their sports drink with body armor such cool company, and there's actually the and my PR guys idea to to sign a bunch of tops and knowing there and. People to see him and by him. But knows it was pretty cool. They're great company new to the sport. They've been with me the last couple of years and this year's first time we had him actually as a primary on our car. We have to racism, we just side an extension with them for two or three more years. So that's really cool. They're great people. They're change in these sports during game. That's for sure. The way they're doing. It is super fun to be a part of how much they've grown here. The past. Two three years has been than on real. So really really fortunate to be on their side. You think fans noticed that they were autographed? Yeah. I think so I had I had a couple of fans come up to me. Have you take a picture with bottle? All right. It's only about your you had a costume party at deal juniors place. Yeah. I had it his bar down there and whiskey river. That was that was a lot of fun. So I did I did a Halloween party last year. I did at my house, and I will never throw that big of a party at my house again because the next morning is cleanup is horrendous. But Dale, let me go to his place. Super cool. You know, he's right there downtown right by the Serena. A lot of people showed others race fans. Air bunch of my buddies. It was open to everybody we had costume contests and things like that. So that was a lot of fun now that was just one of our updates. I think it was on thirtieth so on Tuesday amid weak, and or some of the best costumes. A couple sandlot characters. They're squinched. Was there buddy of mine and Wendy pepper corn was his girlfriend, and that's pretty funny. There were a bunch of weird ones. There was a. Mega man costume, which is pretty cool anybody in a fire suit. Now, no one some gruesome showed up as my crew chief twelve crew chief on the back for shirt, she had a headset and everything was actually there bowlen's was there. So that was pretty cool. You recently did some sort of scooping racket ball thing in Florida. What what sport is that high lie? Yeah. I li-. Had to do some stuff for the homestead speedway for the race. Coming up. That was some we did. So we went to one of their courts. And it was it was the weirdest thing. I've ever played one of the hardest sports I've ever tried to learn. Not only just catching the boats almost like a mixture of racquet ball and baseball, but the kind of gloves. They wear like these big woven narrow baskets. The scoop the ball. And how you even throw. It is weird because the angle of this thing is. You can't just throw it. It's kind of a weird motion you have to do. So now, it's tough. But I mean, the guy who's thrill on the fastest highlight ball was there one hundred ninety miles an hour. I mean, that's that's getting it. And they were just mess around one sixty and yeah, these guys are no joke, and it was cool to learn that that sport not a lot of people know about it. I didn't really know anything about until they told we were going to be I was gonna learn it. So I had a on YouTube, and plus video see what the heck I'll get myself into those fun. Clearly, I didn't know because I called it scooping racket ball. So what was it like to meet NBA legend Kobe Bryant? Yeah. That was that was really cool. So we did, you know, speaking body armor. We didn't event. There in Las Vegas. We had dinner with a bunch of their vendors and things like that. And Kobe was co he's a big. Big shareholder in that company. And really really been influenced thing since they've been around isn't twelve and. To get to meet him. And just talk to them for ten fifteen minutes that was that was really cool just one on one. He's no joke. It'd be we'll talk about now his intensity level when he was playing even now I see him really intense. And that was that was cool. We gave him a body armor firesuits from what I ward Indianapolis. He wouldn't fit in it. But now super amazing guy trying to get them out to a race. But perfect guy for that brand go-getter and. I think that was that was really cool. So I I love watching him growing up, and I was cool to meet someone like that you get star struck with guys like that you try not to a little bit. When you when you really look. You know, when you watch those other athletes play when you were a kid now to to meet them when you're a little more grown up that was super cool to me. But you just try to be casual a nice to tomb. He was he was the same way with me, which was very very cool him. And last question, how do you plan to attack the new start finish line here at Phoenix? Yes, different. You know? It's really different. We only made a few laps there. And in the first practice discount. Your visual representation of everything is is way different like going down the new backstretch, which was the old French stretches. There's no grandstands there anymore. So that's that's kind of weird coming off that corner going on the frustration. Nothing's there. You're right. But I do like it. I was driving in this morning. And you kind of go over this big bridge and used to be able to just see the back of the grandstands. And now you see the whole front and is very open. I thought that was a really cool. Look kinda shows you that there's a racetrack here not just back of grandstands. So that was really cool. But yeah, I think not only the finish line is going to be interesting, but the re-start zone you're kinda right in the middle of the corner right in the middle of three and four. So it's gonna be weird. It's gonna be crazy. I'll be watching. You know, both races are going to see how it plays out. If you're like in the fifth or sixth back, you're going to be like getting into turn three by the time, the leaders go. So that'll be it'd be weird. I think tomorrow we're actually having some restart practice are going to allow some time to kind of get everything feeling right. So get a small idea before they throw us out there with forty of us. All right. Ryan blaney. Thanks so much for the time being on the final up nicely. Hi, this is Ryan Laney. And you're listening to the final AP weekly. You're listening to. Welcome back to the final weekly. My name is Kerry. Murphy a longtime NASCAR media member syndicated radio host of all things. The final lap Arcos show. Tell Christy NASCAR editor from the final app dot com and social media director from all things at the final. Although he's stealing all of my web traffic over there at Toby Christie dot com. I'm getting no, I get this fancy new template. I Toby fine tunes. It makes it look amazing. And then steals all my traffic by by writing stuff for his website and submitting it to the masses that way. So now, I have zero people going to my site now that we've separated them at all of the people going to his. I did not think this through at all. No, it's fine that you had that piffle during that last break of the show. I wish people get here. What happens in between these admits? But you know, to be fair, and to be nice, people were very happy and very receptive of this brand new template. That is on your website looks great. Yeah. Because they don't have to go. There very often don't have to go there, very often. Now, we've had thirteen votes on our poll on Facebook and thirteen of them like or actually love the new look at the site. So that's pretty good out. We should have a new feature called PF L WB T S. Segments. Right. That would be nice. I think that would actually gets pretty traffic. It just I don't listen to the show. I listened to the between the stuff I want the between stuff. That's what I want. That's right. Maybe that should be a patriotic thing. Maybe there you go. That's a good idea. Finally, your good ideas around here, they get this. They get just the junk of the show over ten years later. You finally come up with a great idea. Good giant. And we're not gonna use it. Of course. We should though. That's actually a really good idea. I disagree. It's a bad idea. You should just post the entire raw file to patriot. Where they can hear the entire thing. No, edits, no editing. No music. No, nothing. Yeah. They just get the whole thing. Wouldn't that suck? If that becomes the more popular version, and I did all this work for nothing. That would actually be even funnier for me. If you did if it did that'd be great. Yeah. Let's get into it. This is more by the way, we didn't do the music last time. So right. I know you didn't. Yeah. Hey we had racing last weekend. We weren't very excited about it in the first segment for some reason. Annual chili bowl results from Tulsa Oklahoma last weekend where Christopher bell has done it again walking away the winner and third year in a row after last lap contact with Kyle Larson to write during a celebration donuts. Bill flipped his race car. But his okay I stole that directly from Toby Christie dot com. He said, quote, never in my wildest dreams that I think I would be able to win the chili bowl to do it three straight times is just unbelievable. But man, I don't even care about the three peat. What about that race? I don't think I've ever really been a part of a last lap like that. So I'm just glad things came out in the end and quote. So you get that quote for my website is what you're saying. Did I not I if you did I must have gotten somewhere else. I was at the chili will while. No, okay. Didn't you write something? Maybe I did get it did article. All right. And I even did say I did not go to the chili bowl. Go to these races to cover them. No, definitely not. And I didn't want people to think that I was covering it. No, there's no, quote, my article, I don't know where you got that quote from well, maybe he didn't say that. That's pretty good. Carry Murphy reporting. Moments here. That's great. Well, as long as you're up front about the fact that I think I got it from the chili bowl website. I aren't sure I mean how I mean how unbelievable is the writing. If that's not true. That's pretty good. Sounds like something that somebody would say but rights, and I read it I acted it. I performed it for the masses and it sounded like Christopher bell in my head. That's that's how he would have said everything why. No, you're an abysmal writer as it is. So you probably you had to copy and paste from somewhere, I'm not abysmal. I'm just short winded your subpar, really. That's what you think of my writing. Well, when you Rimac cans of this Mak Kenneth every week for that. That's not me. Okay. And you gotta think since two thousand four I've been writing stories that are like three sentences long. That's the extent of my writing. That's right. I have much Mottaki every Ryan priests article this week in in the were going instead of the two jeez. I had to Fs. So I had four if you got mocked. I did. I had somebody comment comment saying that it did do spell check next for post which to their credit. Yes. They're right. Do sorry coming from you. That's unbelievable. Because I think that maybe the first mistake in the history of Toby Christie. No, I'm not perfect. I do make mistakes. But I do try to limit my mistakes as much as possible. And that one was pretty funny when I find found it what the heck I misspell is going through the thing twice and didn't catch it. And there it is phone. Did you see our guest? Ryan Blaney last Sunday night on CBS TV show, magnum PI. You know, I did because. Love watching old rehash shows from the eighties rebooted. Yeah. Well, it was complete with an old school. Tom Selleck magnum PI mustache aboard. Ryan blaney. He's lip is that what he was growing that for this whole time. Perhaps. I mean, he has to compete with the best. Right. Maybe I mean, when you think mustache, you think Tom Selleck. Maybe maybe that NASCAR guy. Right. So if Ryan Blaney was on for NASCAR. Who was there? Anybody else on the show or was it just a normal like usual had NFL running back. Eddie, George some other guide and rice that's former NFL running back, by the way, George pretty good there for some other guy. Didn't write him down though. Oh my goodness. It's all complete here. Is all you do is watch TV TV the Toby doesn't watch. This is the one time you can finally contribute something into this. Wow. He actually hit something breast up into the table here. And you fall flat. The episode is called winner takes all appropriately. If you are looking on your DVR on demand or the CBS app. So are there any good like race puns during the show? I didn't watch it. I don't know. Oh, I thought for sure you watch this. No. Well, how'd you even get the information? You have here. I'll probably from Toby Christie's calm. I don't know. I did not write about magnum, PI, definitely. I don't know where you got this. But you definitely copy and paste this too somewhere. I got it. Maybe this isn't true either new head of copied and pasted it because on demand has on capitalized in demand capitalized, you wouldn't have done that. Yes. I did. No. I I wrote this stuff I didn't copy and paste any of that. No. You you copy and paste that I did not. I'm telling you. I wrote that from something you're eating well. Yeah. But I didn't copy and paste will why didn't you because I had to make it in my own image. I had to what you did was you wrote. Did you see Ryan Blaney last Sunday night on CBS TV show magnum PI? And that and maybe did the Tom Selleck mustache thing. Everything else came from something else. That was not you. Okay. So I wrote half of it. We've gotten to the bottom of this. But no, I remember specifically typing on demand because I actually thought of exactly what you said is it on capitalized demand or on demand. One word it just didn't look right, right. So, hey, here's the story that we tease at the top of the show and didn't provide you. So in case you've been waiting and waiting and waiting. Here is dangling that carrot out. This is the one right here in Toby's got it for you. You're gonna give it to me on prestigious honor. Here we go. Jamie Murray will in fact race in the upcoming Daytona five hundred carry what? Yeah, he's doing so with spire motorsports and their number forty car. No. You're kinda wondering what the heck they have the seventy seven. Well, they're not gonna run the seventy seven Daytona. They're going to make it the forty car for Jamie Murray, who'll be running this in collaboration with Chip Ganassi racing team owns the charter from furniture racing. And Jamie Murray said quote, I'm excited to have the opportunity to potentially be a two-time winner of the race. And it would mean so much to celebrate one more win with all of my great partners have been with me for so many years in quote. And of course, that means that bass pro shops will be on the car, they sponsor, but it seems McDonald's will be there as well. And Cessna, so there's a longtime sponsors McMurray. They will be in this effort. That's pretty cool by the way that quote may not be accurate either. I got it. From lift your quotes from here dot com. The thing. I don't know. Okay. And there's to the story. Gary it matches pretty well, though, doesn't it? I think that one actually came from Toby Chris dot com. I remember writing. Yeah. My place. Okay. Update to the story. What wo- would just happened? And now there's update. That's amazing. Yeah. Jamie Murray will also be racing not just five hundred carry. But also the advance auto parts clash Daytona, the lead up to the big show. It was recently announced that he'd be in the number forty machine for the five hundred like we said he will be in the clash also in the number forty. This will be sponsored by advent health. So it's a really cool blue green white all sorts of color car looks pretty cool that race. Of course, the clash will be February tenth at three PM eastern. Now. Everybody knows me to be a NASCAR wiz expert if you will. So I'm going to do that even though it has. And said anywhere that he's also going to be in the Daytona five hundred qualifying as well as one of the duals. Yes, carry you're, right. Thank you. See? Went without saying, well, I had to say it. Are they doing qualifying for the clash by the way? Are they going to be pulling straws or whatever or they actually do something on the track for I don't know? You're supposed to know that stuff. Well, I'm wondering because if it's something on track you'll be in that too. Well, we're not that's not this week. So I don't know. But had full SAS mode from Kerry Murphy today. Well, you're calling me out on something. You know? I don't look ahead that far. I don't even know asking us question that maybe would know what you're supposed. That's your job to update you on that. We don't know how any of the qualifying for anything this year yet. Because NASCAR announced it we'll see. There you go. You were trying to catch me on something. I was and it worked out. Well, Jeff, Gordon and David Ragan raked in a pile of money combined nine hundred thousand dollars this. I think directly from your site. Yeah. What I wouldn't do that hundred thousand dollars. I know Barrett. Jackson for their cars, Jeff Gordon auctioned off his personal twenty sixteen c seven are corvette. And David Ragan put up his number thirty eight NASCAR race car donated by his team Reagan's brought in three hundred thousand Jeff's brought in six hundred total that equals nine yes. And all the money going to the driver's respective charity. So that part is the coolest part yet is so you're like, okay. Well, cool. You know, they've got six hundred thousand three hundred thousand day split the difference over the car costs, and they sent that Jerry know, the full gavel price, here, whatever they smack the hammer on that's what they gave out and for Jeff Gordon car was kinda unique because his car originally sold for four hundred thousand and when the guy purchased it he immediately threw back on the auction block and a gun two hundred thousand I'm confused. So okay, he put his used car up there twenty sixteen. Okay. So Jeff, Gordon put his C seven abuse, corvette. He got four hundred thousand a guy bid four hundred thousand dollars, right? Then the car lost money in the next auction. No, no. No. No. No. Well, I mean, theoretically, yes. But no. So the guy spent four hundred thousand and then he said, no put it back up there for more just keep my four thousand put it back up there. But the new guy got it for less. Yeah. So he should really be mad about that. Hit harder spent his four hundred thousand so what do you do? That's bizarre. But anyway, it's a good story all around because the charities got the money. Yeah. Shriners hospitals is what got it for Dave Reagan's stuff there. That's obvious the sponsor of the car the auctioned off. And then of course, Jeff Gordon's will go to the Jeff Gordon children's foundation. Yep. Yep. Yep. So lots of kids happy now. Yep. Really cool about video games. Carry aren't they big business these days? That's what I hear. Yeah. In NASCAR is no different. Which is why we're seeing real race teams joined the ranks of I racing online. Yep. Okay. You're going to really help me out junior. Sports. Joe Gibbs racing. Clint Boyer racing and wood brothers racing. All participate in January thirtieth draft to slick drivers to compete, virtually and the twentieth. Nineteen NASCAR peak. I racing series. I believe it's still sponsor that series the prize pool for the series is now a whopping one hundred thousand dollars to play a game. Goodness. Yeah. But that's like chump change compared to some of those video game, turn amounts. It is. Yes, it is. You don't know this? No, man. I'm I'm just a millennial. What do you expect me to know? Well, there are like massive tournaments for some of the biggest. To go into this. Okay. Maybe people don't know. Then continue go into it. Now. Forget it. I don't turn. It's and you know, you don't want to know. Okay. Forget it. I will keep this information myself don't keep the information about ship can ask your yourself. Let's hear it Okay. Didn't we do this last week? I tricked you maybe. No, no didn't after losing his full-time Premo Chip Ganassi racing. Xfinity series ride for twenty nineteen. Ross Chastain picked up a race vehicle for the upcoming Daytona truck race event. They'll be in the number forty five. Niece motorsports Chevrolet is that. Right. That's correct tests. Not niece AA or okay. Nothing beyond that race not behind but beyond that race for Ross to announce just yet and the sponsor the paint scheme of it's really cool designed by Paul junior. The the orange coaster Orange County. Choppers guy. All right. Very cool. Let's get into our driver spotlight from William Byron. And I up what has WB up to in the off season to prepare for twenty nineteen. That's been fun. I mean, he's we've done a lot of stuff in the offseason that I'm not used to doing that's really been encouraging and fun to do. And I feel like our team is kind of already assembled before we get to Daytona which is kind of a goal for us because we haven't been together as a group. So I'm looking forward to anything from we've been pitshop practice. You know, we've done some team events team dinners team building stuff. And then we've also done some stuff that's directly related to what we're gonna do at the track. So it's kind of been all over WB member. The scene. Dancing frog. Yes. I do. All right, fine. Not just get into winded. He start working with his new crew chief check house. We kind of started the process of working together. I'd say back in October November just kind of getting to know each other. So really when December January came around. We're just kind of doing that that same process and doing some team stuff. So I'm looking forward to it. He's he's obviously got a lot of knowledge on the sport. And I feel like at the same time. He's he's willing to kind of do something new. So it's it's exciting WBZ. William Byron glad to have a few months to fully prepare for twenty nineteen. It's hard to change much. When you're at the track getting a couple months to work on everything, you know, it's going to be a lot different. I think so it's hard to hard to change much until you get back. You're and you're kind of able to able to look at all of it. We we got a new game plan and once you get behind it's kinda hard to hard to catch up. But I there was a lot of improvement towards the end of the year with which winning races. So I don't see really any reason we can't do that. So, you know, intimidated by Chad. Yeah. Definitely it's it's hard. Sometimes you sit in a meeting with them, and you're a little intimidated. But I gotta speak up. And really kinda. That's my job as driver or else. I'm not really giving everything I need to. I think just kind of not being to ain't your feelings when you're talking to them and just kind of making sure that you're staying objective and wrap things up with a bow. William Byron says Chad as the details down. Nope. So, you know, speed like it's kind of something you have or you don't. But when it comes a little details that make you go faster make you race better. Those are really important. So I think you kind of learn those overtime, and then you just gotta continue to work on your craft. Byron. You're listening to the final lap. Weeklies back. Here's your host carry Murphy and Toby Christie just a couple of guys talking racing. My name is Kerry Murphy his name is Toby Christie Wacoal. It's tire program. The final lap weekly. And it's time now for the much coveted much -ticipant it'd well sought after Jimmy Johnson bowl. Yep. Or stop Jimmy Johnson describes his trip to the Middle East or that Formula one swamp. I think we've played this like eight times. Now my. To see the McLaren facility drive. The sim good Abu Dhabi for the race in that whole thing there to do some hotline Fernando and watch the race. And then my own experience within within the car was just out of this world. And I'm so happy to make all these guys jealous of in threatened to be punched in the face a few times, which is fine. But just just an awesome experience Jimmy Johnson talks about what's left for him in NASCAR. Actually, I don't think that's accurately talks about something else. But all right. I think I've made it pretty clear that I'm far from done. And there's lots of racy left's within me. So in the heat of the moment in experiencing that rush the form of the one car. I always grew up with open-wheel dreams as a kid, and I don't think the fast ovals or anything I wanna mess with at the stage of my life. But road, course wise and the experience I had in that form the one car that's just a whole different animal. I did well in the car and in one experience that and of course, wanna raise some other types of cars. When when the Cup things done, but I don't have a plan. And I know that people love from you to have a plan, but I don't I just wanna race. And I want to drive cars, and I want to go to cool races. And a lot of my heroes when I was young guys that that moved around and hit the marquee events. And if I can create that someday down the road for me to do participate in the now, it'd be a great way to kinda wind down racing. General Jimmy Johnson has been preparing for twenty nine thousand nine talking with his new crew chief? I would take no kidding. Yeah. We I talked to Kevin Monday after homestead and he was moving into its new office at HMS texted with him ause way tread touch base with them today before I flew out haven't been in much contact with the Cup side of life for the last seven days, but we've had a lot going on leading into it. And I think the teams in pretty solid order and ready to go. It's just a matter of can get into the off-season and working on the the twenty nine roles package. Johnson scribes things. The core. During the not so recent swap pretty scary. The first two laps. My my helmet was trying to lift off my head. So I'm a much taller than than kind of guys that drove that car in. Work. Sure, how the air was gonna work out. But going down the fast straightaways in the higher gears. The air literally was lifting helmet up off my head, and I could see my microphone front of my face and closer to hundred miles an hour. Looking at the inside of my helmet wondering when hit the brakes. So I came in. We worked on the helmet made a few judgments it put a small little wicker in front of me that helped move the Arab over my head. And then I was going to go but the early laps were very much. Just trying to get my is calibrated you're covering so much road such short period of time the breaking zones or a fifth of the distance of car for equal speed. I mean, it really was a crazy experience just to get adjusted. Made by twenty five laps in the car. And then the last outing things really started to quit for me in my eyes recalibrated, and I could I could see where I wanted to be a where what where I wanted to place the car one lifted breaks all that stuff was coming together. I wish we had more tires more time because I feel like I could have done quicker yet. And finally, we wrap things up with Jimmy Johnson, observing the culture in the Middle East and the American influence abroad. It was really an eye opener. Travel so far in especially in Dubai. Abu dhabi. You see, you know, western influence everywhere. I'm one of the tours that we went on through to buy. I wish I was keeping count, but there's just numerous American chain restaurants and retail stores left, and right that that the guide was pointing out, and it's like, we've travelled halfway across the world to see cheesecake factory. So there were elements of it in in the city, especially that were very westernized. And clearly we have something here. That's that's kind of desired by the rest of the world in Dubai was full of a lot of that. We did get out. We went to the local spice market in toured around went out in the sand dunes in had a great dinner, and like kids were very eager to read Campbell's and Morial to do that through it all we saw a lot of big city life, and in maybe not as much culture as we expected to see. But then we also get in some smaller areas and experience, and what wonderful people, of course, you get nervous. Traveling to that area of the world. But especially in the UA, you know, they are so welcoming to any and all nationalities and very proud. They are very proud to say there's over two hundred countries represented there, and they they were just wonderful very nice in kind people. So we had great time. I thought for sure we'd at least have new Jimmy bonanza, actually all of those were new, but they just sound different or the same as previous ones. But they are. There are new clips. From the same thing. Well, no because this from a different it's from the Las Vegas thing. But the other clips were before that. So anyway, we have new clips for you next week. Trust me, we've got all kinds of stuff on the way. Checkered flag is flying on this bizarre show. It was one of the weirder. One's gotta be honest.
