"We will be at Scottsdale stadium. That's the home of the San Francisco Giants, their spring training home. And we want to thank the San Francisco Giants for letting us have the stadium, the entire week. And we can't have an audience go to the show inside the stadium. But after every show, we will be available for a meet and greet to say hello to you. If you're out in the area, around 10 a.m., local time, then we would love to see you say hello, take pictures for you, hug your girlfriend or wife, but look for the sprinter van that we'll have out there that we will be giving away at this time next Friday. JJ watt will be our first guest in studio. For Pauly. First one in. Last one out. Is he staying all week? Absolutely. We're going to get there. He's going to help clean up. He's not building the set right now. I like it. All right, last call for phone calls, what we learned, what's in store tomorrow, I don't take Charles Barkley for granted when he's on, but he's been a great friend for over 30 years. And we have fun, I love his perspective. Don't always agree with everything he says. Does, but he is accountable for it. But what he said about Michael Jordan Tiger Woods, you know, he's saying Tom Brady and if you're around Gretzky, you would never know what he did for a living. Never. Because you look at him, you go, that dude, there is no way he played hockey. And if he did, he didn't play in the NHL. And he's so mild manner. That it's disarming.

"Growing up in a small town of a couple thousand people and 60 years later, I'm like, wow. I've been honored and blessed to be Charles Barkley, man. It's been pretty cool. Now, listen, Michael, it's the greatest and LeBron and Colby and Wayne Gretzky and fellow all these guys are some of the greatest ever do it. Serena, I want to leave her out, but man, hey, hey, as I say so myself sometimes. Man, you did pretty good. Yes, you did. Yeah, sure. Are we celebrating LeBron enough? Well, I want to say two things. I think I hope people have a great appreciation for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. How great that record is. So hopefully the one thing will come out of this two things, excuse me, I apologize. Number one, the greatness of Kareem, having his record, I mean, it's incredible. But I've said this before, I think that LeBron James listen, you know, this debate, first of all, I always think that debate is silly. When guys have no talent, they go on TV and rid of you and say Kobe, you know, they like the who's the greatest. LeBron's been the greatest of last. Well, Kobe had a stretch where he was the greatest. Well, Tim Duncan had a stretch when he was the greatest. But I want to appreciate Kareem first. But I've said this before, LeBron, I think, has the greatest story, not just in basketball, history, and sports history. We've never had a player because as great as Kobe and Kevin Garnett, mcgrady, and all those guys were. People forget, they struggled when they came into the NBA. I've said this before, LeBron coming in at 18, being pretty good from the first date and never really getting in trouble.

"By the way, we have a gambling podcast and that's with bad Larry. Dylan, the graphics guy in Shea and Irving and we just recorded it on Thursday. I mean, we do get around to talking about betting on sports, and sometimes we're betting on a lot of different things. Yeah, Pauly, you walked out of the room after taping the podcast. Those guys are crazy. They are. They are absolutely crazy. They want to have a drinking game that's kind of a wonderlic test and see who scores the highest and I'm like, guys, we got to talk about actual gambling here. And they did. Here is Dylan telling us all the things that he's going to bet on leading up to the Super Bowl. You're going to bed on cornhole. Yeah, so there's obviously the men's and the women's finals, Dan. Obviously taking Cheyenne boob in heim moneyline. Two 35 against Rosie strecker, which are two of the coolest names I've ever seen, but Cheyenne bobenheim was a name pick alone. Anything else you're betting on here, Dylan? Yep. For no reason whatsoever, I'm taking Arizona to make the final four in basketball. Plus three 80, that happened 22 years ago. That was Richard Jefferson Gilbert arenas. Oh, wow. That was so long ago. And then I got to get in early, Dan. Oscar's bets. Taking banshees of innis air in to win best picture plus two 25. I think that line is going to move way down. Four units on that. The value for units. That's a great movie. And yeah, I'm getting the value. It is a great podcast, not because of me, but because of those guys that Dan Patrick dot com, Dan Patrick takes a gamble with bad Larry, Dylan the graphics guy, Shay and Irving. That was hysterical. They are benign. They are entertaining. They are entertaining.

"Is full price over here, mister prince. Oh, sorry. You're going to dap somebody up. Yeah. I'm sorry. What's your name, Marvin? Mister prince. My name is Thomas, nice to meet you. Harry and Rochester. Hi, Harry, what's on your mind? How are you doing? Great here. I have a suggestion that the best color was a chance to watch the show live from the man cave. Of course you guys would have to pick it. I don't think that's going to happen. I mean, I would love for people to be able to see the man cave, but we've had people just show up, but we do not encourage that. And you know, it's a small, this is just small group of people here. But we can't have people who come in and watch the show. If we go on location sometimes, then you're able to watch that and we have fun. Maybe in Arizona, we're able to do that, but no, we can't have a studio audience here. We barely get this show on the air. To begin with. And then all my writers because we script everything as we've been accused of. You know, here's the problem with that. Some of the people who are working here are just here watching the show. Some are watching other shows. Yeah. Yeah. Did you guys see what skip bail is sitting? How many of you watching our show here? Get up. It's okay. I like what they're like. Here with Joe Scarborough said, you don't even watch a sport. Yeah, you're watching morning cup of Joe or something. Yes, Marc. You want to find out what skipping Shannon are talking about right now? Probably LeBron or the cowboys. Cowboys. Yes, sir. Yeah, of course. And it's what is LeBron think about the cowboys. He's no longer a fan. How did the Baker Mayfield revelations help? In fact, the cowboys. Yeah. Did the cowboys make a mistake, not signing baker. Like whatever it is, you got three or four topics. How do we weave those into every show? Every single day. And I'm fascinated, but I could never do that. And the beauty of this show is I don't have a boss. I don't have somebody who says, these are the bullet points. I don't have analytics that tell me what to do. And a lot of these shows are programmed that way. And they do great. They probably do better than this one does. But when we started this, I said I was going to do it. And I was going to do it with what I thought was the best way to go about this and have fun. And not go, oh, we have to check the box and talk about this or that. And the audience is responded. We have an unbelievable audience. But we have fun. When we need to be serious, cover all the stories, but we do not go into each day. Pauly puts out the rundown and Pauly does not go, how do we work the cowboys into today's show? Pauly is anti that. How do we work LeBron into this today? If it comes out, if we do touch on it, it's because we meant to do that.

"Hall of Famer Charles Barkley joining us on the show. I didn't care about basketball. I didn't care about anything else other than sources close to me, tell me. Charles Barkley is playing great golf. I'm playing great brother. I'm playing really well Dan. I'm having a lot of fun. Shout out to my coach Stan ugly. I'm about a ten right now. And I am flat out balling, brother. I heard that there was a member member at whisper rock and you and your former teammate Dan Marley won the member member, according to my sources, would you care to comment? Yeah, we wanted damn play great. I held up my end of the bargain. I got accused of cheating. Because my official handicap is probably 14. But I'm playing like a ten right now, Dan. I'm not gonna lie, but so with my shots, we ran away with the competition. But I'm probably gonna be a ten in the next month because I'm playing great. And I gotta just put in a few more scores. Okay, what changed? You know,

"Sure. So I think you should consider reviving a classic segment of the show and that segment is know your Romo except now it's a rebranded as know your Bronco and Todd has to guess whether a Russell Wilson sound clip was after the last games loss for the previous loss. Wow. Know you're Wilson? No, you're Russ. Yeah. I think, you know, Todd's taken enough pain here. And the fact that he's a Bronco fan, he's talking to Justin Herbert on the phone right now. I know. We're all very proud of what you did last night. Yeah, thank you for joining the show. We glad we took you into overtime. Sorry, you guys feed us. Let's ride. That'd be great if Todd goes, let's ride. So wait for Justin Herbert to join us. The who's taller game, Justin Herbert, or Matt Ryan Matt Ryan join us in the first hour of the program. Who is taller? Yes, bob. Now we're gonna go back to the college bios because sometimes those are more true. Are they? Supposedly. Do you wanna bet on it? Matt Ryan seems taller. Yes, he. I'm gonna say Matt Ryan is an inch and a half taller. Than Justin Herbert? Wow. Okay. You met them both. Yes, we have. Kicked it with both of them. Justin's got like a puffy hair, though. So he may seem a little taller. Not less these days. Yeah, Matt has less mos. Okay, Paulie. Okay, Justin can settle this, but I have a Matt Ryan listed 6 5 at BC. I have just enlisted at 6 6 at org. Wow. Holy smokes. Okay. It's try to confirm that Justin Herbert chargers quarterback. What's the official height there, Justin? Hey, what's going on, guys? It is 6 foot 6, so that is accurate. Were you worried that you were too tall or that the scallops would say you were too tall? Perception wise. That is something that crossed my mind. I don't think it was that important though. I thought the film and how you threw the ball was more important. So that was definitely something that I continued to work on, but something I wasn't too worried about. All right, what hurts today after that win? It's definitely a tough spot win. And those are hard to come by in the NFL. So we'll take any that we can get. The body is a little sore, but it feels much better after it win. You don't throw a touchdown pass, I think the first time in what 27 games, but you do win, and I mention this, we never look back on ugly wins. We always look back on ugly losses. But how do you, how do you guys, as a team go, let's just forget about it. When do you watch the film on this, by the way? And then, you know, how quickly do you move on to Seattle? Yes. We'll watch it this morning and I thought there were a lot of good parts of the game. Things that we did well on offense and defense and forced to turn over on special teams as well. And that was big for us. We moved the ball well and we converted on third downs and didn't put up enough points.

"That's who he is. You know, they were the ones that molded Aaron judge into the person that he ultimately has become. And I felt great for her. I mean, forget about the travel. I just felt great, but that's my son out there. Look what he's been able to accomplish through hard work and dedication, et cetera, et cetera. So I'm going to run this passion because you and I have had so many conversations about trying to put this in the context within the, you know, within the context of the PD era and where the numbers went during that time. I was on get up this morning. They asked me what the number 61 means. And I mentioned that, you know, to me, that's baseball's Mount Everest. You know, every kid who grows up, you know, thinks about when they plug one of play baseball, they think about hitting home runs. And now Aaron judge is as many home runs as roger marist did in American League history. Those two guys are twins. And I thought about this. That is the Mount Everest of the sport and, you know, further the mountain climbing analogy, you know, the first climbers who went up Mount Everest, most notably Sir Edmund Hillary, did so without the use of bottled oxygen. And subsequently, a lot of other people have gone up Mount Everest and a lot of them have used bottled oxygen. That to me is kind of the same type of difference in baseball. There are other players, Maguire, Sosa, Barry Bonds who got to 61, got to 62 and beyond, but they did it under different circumstances. And it's a different accomplishment to me in that regard. Does that make sense or no? It does. And I think it's too early to frame 61 or wherever Aaron judge ends up going, I think this is a conversation that people are going to have 20, 30 years from now when they look back. And see how aberrational 73 Homer's were or mid 60s were. And then where Aaron judge fits in on that list because, you know, if Aaron judge were to ever and look, he may, you know, you put Aaron judge on the Colorado Rockies for whatever reason. And he hits 78 home runs in the season. And he's deemed clean. Is there an asterisk? Because half of his games were played at altitude and I get humidors, et cetera, but if you understand my point, there are going to be circumstances that you dramatically impact. All right, let's talk about this weekend series, the braves and the mets. I was laughing last night as we were all texting back and forth about this Sunday Night game. You and I living in the northeast have so many friends who are mets fans and I said a few years ago that I think the phrase till death do us part applies to no group of people more than mets fans who both love their team and are tortured by their team. And so last night, as the mets fell behind in their game and the braves were close in their game with the nationals, Andy Jacobson was like, hey, guess what, guys? Who are producer on Sunday Night baseball and he was a huge mets fan. Texas and say, okay, we already know that the mets are going to be in the wild card game and the braves are going to win the division. And hey, we get to have dinner in New York on Wednesday night. How cool is that going to be? And it's like, dude, come on. They actually have to play a week's worth of games before we know who wins the division. And on top of that, Carl, I do think. And I totally get perspective of folks like Andy Jacobson and Pete mcconville, Sarah langs. They all might feel faded being mets fans. I think this is a different type of mets team. And that doesn't mean necessarily going to win the division, but it is a different group of players for me. Up a 180° from all those expectations. But it just goes back to what I just said. Cubs fans were the same way. Red Sox fans have been the same way. Philadelphia Phillies fans are very skeptical about where this team ends up going. Look, the Atlanta Braves were winning divisions left and right. They won one World Series. I mean, for all, for all their success with Bobby Cox, there was a group of those fans that said, we'll never win the World Series. And obviously that changed again with Brian snicker and company. So yes, it's completely different Cohen makes it different the owner, showalter makes it different. Guys like Canada and Escobar, marche, when he comes back, there was a reason that the team was put together with the personalities and the experiences of those players. It has shown itself. They won their 98th game last night. If I'm the mets and their mets fans, I'm upset that the Cardinals clinched by winning the number of games that they did and other teams are getting in with the number of games that they won. You know, your biggest curse is your plan and the division now that's got an Atlanta brave team that's going to be really good for a long time. You go to Philadelphia, Philly's team that's currently in the, in the we're winning now mode. That's your curse. You won 98 games. You're gonna win a, you're gonna win a hundred games this year, and yet you feel cursed. I don't buy it. The mets will win a World Series. Whether it's this year or in a couple of years, they're not those cursed things just, they just, they just feed and attitude and I tend to go on the other side of that attitude, which is will eventually going to win it. I mean, that's how this works. We are not cursed. It may take a hundred years, but it's going to happen. Well, and you know and I know that that's exactly how buck showalter's feeling. That's exactly how Max Scherzer is feeling. That's exactly how Jacob de Grom is feeling. It is a different feel around that team going forward. And at the same time, as you say, in a going up against the braves who are a great team, you know? And I told the story in the podcast before and I'll say it again when we were in St. Louis and had the braves and sunny day baseball a few weeks ago I walked up to a long-standing member of the braves and I said, I actually think you guys are a better team than you were when you won the World Series last year. And this person looked at me without hesitating a second said, I totally agree with you.

"The mets and braves are this great series. To finish out our Sunday Night baseball schedule, we can't wait for Sunday Night, although Carl, we don't know exactly how it's going to play out all I know is, you know, because of the weather I wound up changing my plans to fly in a Nashville and then drive to Atlanta because I don't know what the weather's going to be like on Saturday. What are you going to do? I'm flying in, look, I have a we have a place in Florida and we were down toward that Fort Myers area. Red Sox country and twins country and spring training and so many others and that storm took a turn down towards where we have a place and you know it's hard stopping. It's incredibly frightening and when you're when you're living through the unknown, it becomes almost paralyzing you're searching for information, power goes out. There is no information to get. Thankfully, it looks like things are better than in other places. And you just realize, as one person's fortunate, somebody else is less fortunate, and it's just horrible. But with regards to the whole point is weather systems move. And I think the Atlanta part of this seems to have shifted north and I think they're going to get all three games in on the days they're scheduled to play. Atlanta looks like the weather's going to be very cooperative. So I'm flying, I'm going to hopefully fingers crossed. Fly right into Atlanta. All right. Well, I'm going to have to check the forecast later today. Maybe I'll switch my plans out from going to Nashville, because it'd be great to get and see that game. If they play a game on Saturday, be fun to be there on Saturday night. But we'll get back into medicine braves and the nationally wildcard race in a moment, but of course we start today with the conversation around Aaron judge. And finally, last, say, boy, Carl, you know, when watching him play all last week, we were kind of speculating is the pressure getting to him as he's starting to feel that how tense it is. I heard one broadcaster say that whole conversation was now he's not affected by it at all. I think it's pretty clear. After judge hit number 61, boy, what a relief for him. Yeah, I mean, there was a hundred pound weight lifted off his back and there's a couple of things that I think people say that are fairly regrettable. One is to try to get inside the head of somebody else. You have no idea how Aaron judge is dealing with it. You know, we all have a framework of reference from the person who is publicly faced front and speaks and you're like, okay, well, he seems like he's calm and all that. And yet the Maris family is there. His mother's there. We have no idea what it's like to walk in the shoes of somebody, you know, who is so capable. So the idea that somebody sits there and says, boy, it's not going to bother him. That's foolhardy. You have no idea how people react to things. And look, there were pictures that he had during this streak where you realize, you know, he is physically off a click. He's rolling balls over. He's sitting top spin shots into left field that hopped the fence and, you know, when he's going right, those are elevated, then they leave, you know, they leave the ballpark. Last night was just a slightly less off tick because that was the top spin shot that ended up going over the wall. Look, I look at Aaron judge, I think the way that, you know, that he would like people to look at him. I sincerely believe everything he says about, look, I want the team to win. I think he's genuine in that. And I think most people who surround themselves with that type of attitude have individual success. When you're more concerned about the greater good, you tend to have more individual success. And I think that's what makes this thing so good. And you know, that was my reaction. Great things happen to great people. For all the garbage that our sport has been sort of displaying with individuals, he's the anti. And that's a wonderful thing. I'm delighted he got it. I hope he breaks the record. And then I hope he holds the record or re breaks it wherever he is next year and continues to add to it. I think we all benefit as a sport having Aaron judge be a home run king, certainly that he is in the American League and it would be great if he can pass 61. Boy. As he's passed his record or match Roger Maris, now he's poised to break roger marriage. He's a American League record. It's pretty cool to see how much joy there is around him. You know, because this is not a record. We buried a lot of joy. As you know, Roger Maris in 1961, the question whether or not his record was legit or Frick putting the asterisk on his 61 homers that stood for a long time. And then, you know, when Barry Bonds was approaching Mark McGuire's record, the PED conversation at that point at that exploded by then, and now what's been cool about this is there's nothing but joy for Aaron judge it feels like not only from,

Buster only working from my home in Montana, Sarah Abbott is working from Seattle and Sarah I'd say this. I mean, we're thinking about those whose lives have been impacted by hurricane Ian. Like everyone else, we are glued to the news for updates. I spent all those years in spring training down in Florida, so all know all these areas that have been hit. And got to meet a lot of people and thinking about a lot of folks down there who I know, and I know Sarah, you're the same. Yeah, my parents are actually down there right now with my sister and my brother in law and then my aunt and uncle lived there too. So it's definitely scary. We had my aunt uncle or evacuated, they're in Miami right now. And then my sister and my mom and dad are still in their house. They actually just closed on their house. A couple of days ago. So this is definitely a scary time, and my thoughts and prayers are out there for everyone who's affected. Absolutely. This is a baseball podcast and we will talk baseball. The best race down the stretch is for the national yeast and the braves and mets went into play Wednesday tied for first place. And early on, it didn't look so good for the mets. They were down 42 in the bottom of the 8th inning, Eduardo Escobar came to the plate. The pitch to Escobar. Swinging a grounder

"They still haven't found their way to leave Alabama after all these years. But I'll say this Paul going to auburn was the best decision of my life, the people I tell people, when you go, I really feel like I'm part of a family, and every time I go down there, I do, I feel like I'm going to a family reunion. It's a great academic school, I can't attempt for my academic crowds. I'm not gonna get on hearing a lot to you. But I heard through the Grapevine, it's a great academic school. It's a great environment. It's a great environment to send your kid. Because once you go to auburn, you're just going to auburn. You don't have all those distractions, all the big cities around. When you go to auburn, you're going to auburn, and it's just the most wonderful place. And like I say, I went down for the Georgia game. And I can not wait to go down this weekend. Let me get your analyst had on here because you do know football and I used to always wonder and I asked pat dive as a thousand times while he couldn't turn you into the best tight end in college football history. But what's going on with this auburn team right now, Charles, they were often running and then they literally I know they're without their quarterback, but they have hit the wall. Yeah, the last couple games have been upsetting, but you know what? I'm all in on cotar some. I think we have to be patient with him. I told you, Paul, the last time we talked, I think was that at the golf course. And I told you, I got faith in coach Harrison. I think we got to be patient. He's only been there at 11 games. I thought, you know, if you win one of those last two games, I think that Aaron bower has a different feel. But I'm an old land on coach Harrison. I wish my auburn people had a little patience. You know, we got an inferiority complex. We always compare ourselves to Alabama, which, like I said, man, they got the greatest college football coach alber over there. I have no animosity toward Alabama. It's a great great school. And I listen, I'm looking forward to the game. If we can ruin Alabama season, it would be, you know, you got to record that there are 6 and 5. If we can win the iron bowl, we might and old because if we could ruin their season, it'd be awesome, plain and simple. One last thing. Monix this week who unfortunately is not going to play because injury, he made a major statement that's gotten a lot of run. He said he feels like when auburn's playing Alabama, the ref's favor, Alabama. What do you think? Well, well, first of all, I wish she hadn't said that. Do not poke the bear. If you're not playing. Exactly. You know, I says, wait, wow, Ho. When I saw that I said, oh, calm down. Lil fella, you're not even planning a game. Don't poke the bear. So listen, I like bow nicks on some force he got hurt, but I was a little disappointed that he should eat. Listen, don't have time you poke the bear if you gotta say in the game. And said no way on the sideline you got no saying the game. So. Charles it's such a trade to have you on. We wish you well. We hope to see you this weekend. Enjoy Friday and from all of us. Thanks so much and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. A Paul, you know, man, I tell people any time you ask me to be on the show, I'll never forget you and thank you enough for coming to my mother funeral. It meant a lot to me personally. And any time you ever need me on the show, count me in, you have a great Thanksgiving. Everybody down in Alabama have a great Thanksgiving and I can't wait to get down to auburn Saturday. Charles, all the best. Thanks so much. What a pleasure to have Charles Barkley on this program. And we will take a short break back after this. You are listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. In our podcast, ESPN daily, we ask questions that reveal the deeper side of sports. Did you hear from a certain former president? That's what I'm here to ask you. Did you ever have any sense that baseball was eating away at drew? So what inspired that name across sports and society? Did you kill Lorenzen Wright Chara? I'm Pablo Toure, and ESPN daily connects the best stories in sports to the final score. Wherever you listen. Welcome back and I know I'm starting to sound repetitive here by thanking people, but how great is that? To hear Charles Barkley and the raw honesty of what he had to say, I'm in is up next. Hello, hello, I'm. Hey, good afternoon, Paul. Thank you for taking my call. Thank you. You know, first and foremost, my thoughts and prayers and condolences to. Taught me the blanket. Family and friends. And it was obvious a couple of weeks ago when you mentioned it on the air that if something real serious and that's exactly the way I took it that it was something real serious and it was obviously very upsetting to you yesterday as you kind of broke into that news. And I was going to call you, but then once it kind of went that way, I thought not wait till today. It is good to have you back. I hope you're feeling better. Too. Thank you. I did pick up on a couple of calls yesterday. And by the way, it's iron boat week. In auburn does a lot of great things with those wounded eagles. And I'll tell you what if the Alvin tigers have to jump off the upper deck intercept footballs and tackle asses. Then that's what you might see. That's exactly what you might see. A bunch of wounded tigers going out there and what that does say minutes. We're coming in a little bit behind the 8 ball, but you'll see blue jerseys out there for 60 minutes. And it is what it is. I picked up on a cup of calls yesterday. And one of the let's just go straight to the heart at it. Legend talking about McIlroy. I thought Matt and Cole did a hell of a job the other day. And it doesn't matter if GM don't call or legend don't call. But legends coming on here and he's telling you about his he's been trained by the greatest 30 seconds move on. 30 seconds move on 30 seconds move on. You have never mind me, Paul. Who inhale is legend broadcast and for right now, and who is Michael Roy and cold broadcasting to? Right. That's what I thought crickets. Crickets creek screens. And why does Jim where all these years feel like he's such a talent search and know so much about your show and what Jeff brings to the table? Because you misunderstood and you misspoke going to Jack the caller and how much you missed you? That's on jazz. Do you miss jets? I'm probably going to be able to make it through the weekend. That's on him if he wants to call. He's the one like Manuel from Texas years ago. He was all up in the thick of things and guess what? Faded away. Why? Because there was nothing else to talk about. And if Jeff has nothing to talk about, that don't make him he's got nothing to talk about. Don't make him a great caller. He was good caller, but he's gotten nothing to talk about. Although he shouldn't, something's talked about. But, you know what? He doesn't feel compelled to pick this phone up and call Paul. And if you don't pick this phone call, that's it. That's history. 60 minutes crimson tides. 60 minutes. Hey, Paul have a great Thanksgiving. All y'all, I expect to hear all your voices on Friday. Have a good day. Thank you, man. Really great to have you on. What a crazy first hour with Charles Barkley. We'll talk to Joe tessitore in the next hour. He's on the call for the egg bowl and more of your phone calls as well. We are here on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. One of the great days every year on the calendar, so stick around. We're coming right back. You are listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. "And I just don't want to work. Hey, I love TNT. I love working there. I love the NBA. But at some point you got to say to yourself, hey man, enjoy the rest of your life out of all the stuff you have accomplished, go fishing and play golf and travel the world. And that's my game plan. Is there anything that you still haven't done that you would like to do? Wow, that's a great question, Paul. Probably just visit some other countries. I think that's like, I made up this goal when I turned 60, I'm gonna give me like a little bowl and put in like 50 to 50 countries and like this is true, Paul, I'm gonna get me a big old fish bowl and put different countries in there and spin it up. And like, for one week a month, just one week a month, I'm gonna go to some place in the world. I never been before. That's always been a goal of mine. And I can't wait to try. It's just a game, but I want to do it. I want to see the whole world. But Charles I mean, I think about we, I think of other people that have preceded you in terms of people that transcend sports who started in sports and I've had conversation with you about some of the people you've met, but it seems like you've met almost everyone. You've been most places, is there anyone that you're still on your own personal bucket list? I'd like to meet Eminem. I'm a big fan of his. I got a chance to meet Snoop Dogg last year. I met Dr. Dre before. I met Denzel, which was awesome. Obviously, work with Sam. That's very few people that I haven't had an opportunity to rest around in my amazing amazing life. But like I say, I just think it's important. I want to be like John Madden, I thought John man was greeted his job, but the one thing you don't want to do is stay on too long, and to me that John means John Madden I'm not comparing myself to John, I want to make that clear. He's the best to ever do it. And he lived before his time was up. We all have to make this decision whether you are television announcer, radio announcer or a jock. The one thing you don't want to do is stay on too long. And it's better to leave early than late ball. You know that you see some jocks out there. You see some guys on television. You're like, are they wheeling him out there to do a broadcast? I know. I feel like you're looking at me since they just did wheel me out here to do this interview the way I feel right now. Charles, that's so interesting, but how do you know, because the money is is extraordinary. And then you have the person that has completely shattered the myth, and that's Tom Brady who could have walked away at any point over the last ten years and he did it and he's still winning. Well, I think Tom Brady is, I think he's probably the greatest job ever in my opinion and no disrespect to Michael Jordan or Novak Djokovic or anybody, Roger Federer, all these guys, Wayne Gretchen their goats, but what he's able to accomplish is just remarkable. I tell people why I think so highly of Tom Brady, I'm one. He's the nicest jock. I've ever met in my life ever, but the beyond every playoff game that's a game 7. If you got Michael Jordan in a series, you probably gonna win that series. If you got Wayne Gretzky, you're probably gonna win a 7 game series. Same thing with Djokovic in tennis. He's probably gonna win most three out of 5 matches in a set. But when you don't Tom Brady, every playoff game is a game 7. And to be able to win 7 super bowls and play in ten, and we talk about the goats, not just a football of all sports. His thing is resume a critter remarkable. Talking to Charles Barkley who will be at the iron bowl when you go back to auburn. I've had the privilege and I mean that to watch you down there. You do look like a kid in college mixing with the kids who are now in college. What's it like when you zip into that fish ball? It's not like you run away from it. You seem like you embrace it. Well, you know, I don't want to be all philosophical and emotional. Man, I've had the greatest life a person could have. I mean, you think about this. My grandmother, the greatest person in my life ever drops me off at auburn at 18 years old and I was 40 years ago. And I had no idea how this thing was gonna turn out. And to say I've been doing this for 40 years. I mean, man, this has been an incredible, amazing journey. But when I got dropped, first of all, let's get one thing. Aubrey didn't know I could play when I went down there. You know, and I think about that. Everybody takes a lot of credit for my success later, but when I went down to auburn, they didn't think I would be in a good they were recruit another guy from my high school. I almost had to beg, because the affair. No, I remember your recruiting. You are, I mean, it's been well documented, but you were spotted during a Christmas tournament if I remember, everybody was coming to see, I think it was Bobby Lee hurt, wasn't it? And you literally wiped the floors with this poor guy. You know, it was amazing. I had never gotten a letter from a division one school of the after I played against Barba Lee hurt. I had a bunch of letters from junior college and some mid majors, but until I played that Christmas term but against Barbie Lee hurt, I finally got a story getting letters and it was really Alabama auburn, UAB. I never got in a major college lover for like, you know, people talk about duke and tucking off.

"This is to you and to her family. I do want to tell you that was an example of why you are so beloved. You know, when to be a horse's ass, but you know when to open your heart to whatever is needed. And you showed it yesterday and you invite people into your family and that's why we love you. Thank you, Mitch. I do want to say one day about football. You know why they fired them more. Because they did not want to hear his stupid responses to why lightsabers were at the Missouri gain responded back to his stupidity. So there's the let's give him fire for money because we don't want to hear his interview. But you have a Happy Thanksgiving and know that we all are praying for you and cecl family and we're there for you. Mitch, thank you. And you have a blessed day tomorrow. As well. Gregg is up next. Hey Greg. Hi pal. Hope you're doing well. Thank you. Have a happy day. I'm 51 year Albert, by Anna. Here's a sheer Heidi to hear about social that broke my heart. And I just wanted to make sure you did the show with it, everything. I literally show every day or watch one. And I love it. And you should only decide that. I can say about having the greatest of a year. So I'll get out here and let somebody else get Italian. Thank you. Greg, thank you for the kind words and you have a great week. We can especially more Ronnie is in Mississippi. Hello Ronnie. Hello, miss Powell. How family and to you. Really? To get our competitors watching, but I was going to talk to you about football. I guess they picked over omegas. Why do you think about that situation? Well, you're right. I was interested in that line. I'm interested to hear what has to say. He's over there. I do think it's going to be outside of the Alabama game, the toughest game of the year for all this. I know they lost at auburn, but I think they're up against a really good team at the moment. Got some bad games out of the way early, but they have been so consistent and both from a defensive standpoint and what Will Rogers is done. I just mentioned the obvious. I am extraordinarily impressed with that with that season. Thank you for the call. Appreciate it very much. Tim is up next in Pennsylvania. Hey, Tim. Hi Paul. Sorry to hear, but also. You know, last night and everything. I called you and coach Pippen by two weeks ago was talking about the flop. And I was thinking if the player would do that, he would have stayed a minimum of four pounds. What do you think about something like that? That takes it out of the referee's hands. Yeah. I think it's the toughest thing to figure out because you don't really know what is going on. And I'm not, I don't like that because I hate to see it. I hate to see someone penalized when it is legitimate. And there's just almost no way to differentiate. Anyway, we have to go to a break. We'll come back to that subject and more. Charles Barkley will join us shortly. You are listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. Hey everyone, it's Adrian warden how ski host of the roach pod where you'll get interesting conversations with the NBA's top newsmakers. When I started thinking front office, I went all in front office, including the game's bright stars of today. There was something star Jayson Tatum. Jason, how are you? I'm doing good. How you doing? Behind the scenes stories some coaches and executives things go well. It's like the union did great when things go poorly at the president now CJ's father. On radio replayed rod bramwell's epic call from 2013. And as we say, order our next guest Charles Barkley. I know you've won the MVP, or one of the greatest players of all time. You have a child that just recently got married that you're proud of. You've won gold medal, but that has to be the greatest moment of your life, doesn't it? It's the greatest for an event I've ever been in. Paul, being there at that game, that's the greatest sport event I've ever been to individually. Yes, sir. We heard you snickering as we were playing it. Anyway, it's so good to see you. Happy Thanksgiving. And I heard you were doing the golf as you always do on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I'm thinking we're not going to see him in auburn, but my sources tell me you will make it to the iron ball. Paul, I got a private jet juice stop. I told TNT, the only way I would do that match and I said, I can't mister iron bowl. And they said, what if we give you a private jet? I says, hey, have it waiting at the airport? As soon as the match is over, I'm jumping on that plane and getting my butt to auburn, Alabama. You know, it's so remarkable Charles because I'm old enough to have covered you in high school and college. So I know how long you've been doing this, but your love for this school is never ending and I find that of all the things that people say about you and documentaries and books and movies and who knows what else has been done or will be done. I find that to be one of your great endearing qualities. You know, Paul, Alabama is a great school, they've got the greatest college football coach ever. I've got to admire that and respect that. But I think people only like Alabama because they're because they have greeted football. Once you go to auburn, I think you're part of a family for life. I always feel like I'm going back to a family reunion and it's probably the best decision I've ever made in my life going to auburn. Talking to Charles Barkley, Charles let's talk about you for a second, and then we'll get to your thoughts on a couple of other things. The NBA season never ends. I know that's what you do. You've scared a lot of people recently with mentions of how much longer am I going to do this. It's hard to imagine you not doing what you're doing. What are you thinking about with your own life and career? Well, Paul, I just don't want to work to the day I die. Listen, I've had a great run. I both blessed to play in the NBA for 16 years. I've been on television for 21 years. I'm almost 60 years old. It's hard for me to say, Paul, I'm almost 60 years old. And I'm smart enough to know that I'm on the.

Listen and follow now on Apple podcast Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. Back Charles Barkley will join us shortly. That's enough to cure whatever ills you. Pat is up next. In Georgia, helicopter. Hello, Paul. Happy Thanksgiving and I am truly sorry about the loss of your friend Cecil hurt. I really am. This is not the reason I called, but with what bone next said, I have a dear friend. He's 79 years old. I've known him since 62. He's had season tickets at Georgia since the mid 60s at a spent a few years as an assistant SID. My friend will go to his grave and it will be marked on his grave. When you play Alabama, you not only play them, you play the rest. And you better play so good that they can not interfere because they will. Now that's not the reason I thought. I listened to the show, Monday and Greg mcelroy and did a very, very good job. I called in and he gave a very thoughtful answer to my question. Two of my wife's favorite people are David Pollock and Greg mcelroy. And my wife knows more about college football than a lot of men, I know. And that's one of the many reasons I married her. But I get the impression that Alabama fans do not care for Greg mcelroy. If that's true, do you have an opinion on why that's the case? Well, it's a theory. That as a former player, he should do what all former players do. And that is speak only good things about the crimson tide. And I think Greg mostly does, but I have heard him over the years. Give opinions on what he thinks is wrong or right. And it's one thing if an opinion this does does it, but I didn't like me. I didn't play it all about. He did. He won a national championship. So I think he's held to a different standard. Well, okay. Right way, the wrong way, by the way. And I'd say it's wrongly. Well, and I would agree with you. He took some grief and Monday. And he took it well naturedly. And they really did a good job of answering the phone calls on Monday. They really did. Might be possible that well, some of my best Friends are my critics. And maybe some Alabama fans might need to learn that lesson. What do you think?.

"The pride passion and pageantry of college football lives here. This is the qualifying bomb show hour two podcast. Very pleasant good afternoon. Welcome to our program in an early happy Thanksgiving to all of you. We hope you're safe out there. It is a little bit crazy. So be careful. And thanks for being a part of our day before celebration. Let's get right to the headlines and we saw it last night. Another reveal of the college football playoff rankings pretty much as expected Georgia, Ohio State jumping, Alabama. Cincinnati ending up in the top four. Now will they stay? That is certainly the question of the day. We have Michigan and Ohio State playing this weekend. Michigan clearly would move up where were the Ohio State ranks. So that's the big story of the day and we will certainly spend time how much I don't know on that. Thanksgiving trash talk. Back in the iron ball, it all coming from a player who will not be in the iron Balboa Knicks. Making the accusation earlier in the week that the ref's favor Alabama. Now of course he did not offer any evidence. He did not deal in any degree of specificity. And the fact that the game two years ago, Jordan here ended with a controversial call against Nick Saban, auburn has beaten Sabin twice. So I have no earthly idea where bone X is coming from, but it is the first trash talk we've had in the iron bow and sometime. Even though he was directed at the zebras Will Rogers is ready for action in the egg ball. That is a little more than 24 hours away in starkville. We'll talk a lot about that later in the program. How about starting off the holiday edition with Charles Barkley? We usually run into Charles down on the plains. We weren't sure we would see him Friday, so we lasted him in today and that is you better call the call the neighbors and friends. Barclay does not meant words on the week of the iron bull Joe test will be there for the egg bowl and he is there. Tom lugan bell will be here. Alex mcdaniel. On egg bowl history. And Karen wilcher on Turkey talk. We did this a couple of years ago and we're going to do it again. Getting you ready. In case you have not begun your feast, we will help you maybe with some last minute ideas. I know that we are the only show in America doing that today. But we may not be the only show, but we will do it better than the rest. But it is the only show taking your phone calls at 8 5 5 two four two 7 two 8 5 and we all thank you for being a part of it. We begin with Josh. Excuse me, John, in Louisville. Hi, John. Hey, Paul. It sounds like you're losing your voice. It started the other day and I was on this morning with greeny and it completely went out on me. I'm hoping it returns, but if not, please, you and everyone else fill up the fill up the void and do all the talking today. I'll just kick back and listen. I can shout as loud as Jim. But first, your tribute to cecl hurt was quite beautiful. And my hats off to your team behind the curtain for getting those guest on in real time to talk about them in his life. Very nice. Our crew here last night, headed by Jamar Jordan. I did exemplary work. And we were just barking out a couple of names of people that we thought were close to see. So we ended up with really to extraordinary guests who I thought. Yeah, you hit home runs with those two. And I want to talk about some coaching extensions. But first, on the CFP, I was kind of surprised that Cincinnati was moved up to number four because there's a possibility they'll have to leapfrog teams ahead of them later on. Obviously, we can now feel comfortable and having Michigan ahead that Michigan state and obviously how state ahead of Oregon. But it just seems to me if things play out. You'll have Georgia, Alabama. The big 12 winner. And a Big Ten winner. So I was a little surprised that since then, I would say at high up, it kind of puts them in a corner. Yeah, I think on one level, John may maybe would give them credit for not playing politics, but if you're being pragmatic, you probably would have put them behind Michigan and that would force either Michigan up or out, either way, but the nightmare scenario for Cincinnati is his Oklahoma state dominating the next two weeks and Alabama beating Georgia. Well, here's a nightmare scenario. I suppose the big 12 beats up each other. You possibly could have I don't know, you could have either Notre-Dame and or Cincinnati both up there. So things can happen in the next ten days. Anyways, I want to talk to you about the coaching extensions. I just don't get it. Well, first of all, the Florida de waking up and deciding to fire the coach was quite quite bizarre. I mean, did a booster wake him up and say, I've got 12 million in your bank account. It's just a bizarre statement I thought. To go along with the whole season down at Florida. He really not said anything. And. I take with a grain of salt, everything that everybody says and to me, it just seemed like the athletic director down there was really had no choice. He knew he had to get rid of Mullen or otherwise he became an endangered and endangered species well I agree, but seeing James Franklin, who had a four and 5 record last year, we'll probably be around 7 and 5 or 7 and 6 this year get an extension in having losing records in the Big Ten in the last two years. Now Mel Tucker was I think 5 and 6 at Colorado, this first job, four and 6 last year at Michigan state and he more than got blown out against a House state. He was unprepared and motivated his team. 49 points at 500 yards in the first half. I just don't get why they're giving away hundreds of millions of dollars. It just blows me. Well, John, thank you, because athletic directors are not they're playing with somebody else's money and it's all about now. It's all about the headlines. It's all about the press conferences, and there's just no way to run a business, but are these really businesses? Thank you for the call. Appreciate it. Suzanne is in Georgia. Hello Suzanne. Good afternoon to you. Good afternoon to you. My question is, there have been. Nervous confirmed rumors of this section on the Alabama team. Is that due to the $2 million and endorsements for rice young assailants and thousands of television and news?.

"Clutches able to come up with a solution to this that gets darryl what he needs. That gets them to a place that he'd like to be in an doesn't adversely impact the sixers fortunes in the east. And you know helps other players along the way. I keep hearing like weird names. Cleveland might have an angle minnesota's by favorite getaway any of their assets the minnesota in sacramento ones. Have that kind of logic of of those Folks in those offices have history with daryl. So you know that there they can have conversations and there's absolutely no reason whatsoever for the sixers do a goddamn thing before training camp before the season starts is the best thing about this before the trade deadline. I mean i think that they're well positioned to just chill for a bit. Here's what barkley said on the mike mass analysis show. He's talked about clutch. Was you know how that group works. They try to trade their players to where they want to anthony davis. They had better deals from boston. Maybe even new york. They're like no he's gonna play with. Lebron is not gonna play. They just bullied. The league team. Got to stand up and say i paid your guy. He can't bully me a trade him and meet and have me take some trash back. I'm hoping somebody in the sixers organization got some stones barkley said we have not seen a team degan before and the quick thing you know. There's a persecution complex of them look for so amid this point the most powerful agent is always the least popular agent. David falk in the nineties was basically presented as the anti christ and blame for every bad thing that happened the league in the nineties. Scott boras same thing in baseball. Everybody had scott boras when you're the top agent near attached to the top guy and you're swinging elbows and get clydes what you want and do all that stuff. You're gonna take shit. I don't like some of the stuff they do at the same time. This is a referendum on them right. What how much power do they actually have. Because in this case philly has no trade.

I mean i think that's a big decision to be honest with you because it's kinda hard to say right now. You know the lakers are going to do something on a better jazz. I'm not sure they beat. Jeb should have better than a jazz. Are they better than the signs. So i think he's holding off a good cards right now. He don't get to pick what he wants to go. If you're collide. You wanna stay with the clippers. Have you seen enough. We say even though that's where he wanted to go back to you know that's a good question dan. I really don't know the answer to that because you have to be in the locker room because you have to save yourself is between gonna stay. Is surgery bacher gonna stay. What are they going to do reggie jackson. Because he's gonna get paid so entity might just meet you. You impala george and you have to ask yourself. I can go anywhere. I want to. You know. I've heard the rumors about him. Going to miami or new york which would be a great destination so That's a good question. I don't know the answer to it. Dallas has also been mentioned. We're talking data plan with that more pa- zingers that would be a really good thing also fly think they'd have to give up porzingas like you. You would. Pair him with luca luca. Yeah yeah like. Luca will be nice together for sure all right the bucks plan without jaanus we see teams that do this and usually it's a one off where you step your game up when the star players out. How surprised were you with the bucks last night without him. Well the surprise at all then. Number one i want say i wanna thank you for all the kind words doing the documentary. Thank you for the kind words. But i wasn't surprised dan. What's interesting about these games. I always tell people this until you go on the road and do your thing. That's when you figure out to think like atlanta who played great at home in game. Four wasn't a shocker. To me the the bucks clan greeted home last night. That was a shocker. Now can they go on the road and do it to me. that's when you find out who's like legitimate. Who for real so mad. I have no idea what's going to happen tomorrow night. Those guys from atlanta. They're gonna play better at home but the bucks. The buck's played great last night. But can they take it on the road to me. that's the key and charleston was talking about a documentary. They did on inside the nba on tnt and variety of us in the media we talked about how difficult it is that you guys make it look easy and you know it all starts with ernie to be able to land planes at jfk. But you know they gotta have you baton baton cleanup without you. It doesn't work on the magnitude that it has. Well thank you for the counter you know. Let's we're so lucky i ernest. We call him the godfather because he's demand second kinnear also work with. But you know. There's so many you know dan you you've been a star for a long time and you up and you just have to be dan patrick. But there's so many people around you who do so much heavy lifting so you know. I mean unless you in the business you have zero idea. Hide actually works. I mean there's so many people around you who number one feet you all the facts and you just show up in your older older decent looking man. You just have to be dan patrick. But also you you guys have allowed producers to make fun of you and you're all stars in the damn we talking about stupid basketball always is so fun would mean when you know. I've been thinking thirty six years. I tell the guys when they started taking himself too serious. Like you'll man. You do know you play basketball right. You're not like a doctor. Somebody who's in the army oats teaser. Firemen policemen people got like a real job. You stupid basketball. You make more money than god to just dribble a stupid basketball. When you start taking yourself too serious you need to take a step back like the. I'm really not that important. I just play basketball. That was a nice documentary. Everybody loved it. There's the last dance documentary that it still seems like. That's bader bothering scottie. Pippen what did you make of scotties.

"charles barkley" Discussed on The Dan Patrick Show

"They didn't even know the heisman. Trust was asking us to help. Like kidding can you. Can you help us. They sent a case that prepaid case like carson palmer us his heisman trophy. We have that here in the man cave. But there's this beautiful case that it comes in i mean it it's indestructible but reggie lost it. And then they said we want the trophy back ridge. He waited a year. He hid in san diego. Maybe the heisman trust will say we'll give it back but we'll get it back at a year so you know in a timely fashion the way you gave us the heisman back but things are changing you know. Go back to. Ohio state with jim tressel. He lost his job when you had those athletes that ohio state who bartered ohio states swag to get some free tattoos and then if you lie like he lied about it now that that's why he got in trouble. It sounds like jim tressel today. I'm going to broker this deal with you. He just lied. As you joined the buckeyes. I got a guy who will. I got a guy who knows a guy but things are changing with name image and likeness in college athletics. And it's not just football not just basketball anybody who has a social media following. You're going to be able to make money off social media and it just starting. We often talk about the wild wild west. This is the wild wild west. what's happening. I'm waiting to see if dabo swinney continues to coach. Because he famously said. Hey if when the athletes get paid. Then i'm quitting. Well they're getting paid daboh. I don't think he's quitting spencer rattler by the way is going to use his name image and likeness to do some good in the world. He plans to donate part of his earnings. He's the oklahoma quarterback. And i guess he along with the group that he signed with leigh steinberg that they're going to give back to. The community is going to donate part of any earnings. I received to help undeserved people and underserved communities. The time is now so we'll see but this is happening right in front of us and the floodgates open yesterday all right mclovin. What do you have for me today. Okay i'm gonna start with a question that is on every nba fans this morning. Are the box better without jaanus. Attend to comp-. Oh my god. Do you really believe that mclovin. No but they finally moved the ball again last. I like they woke up. It makes you wonder what happened to them in game for like why they sleep. Walk at the beginning of that game and then show up like this clearly the better team as you actually predicted you said yesterday while there's a chance at the atlanta won't play with the same urgency. Yes milwaukee played with a. I guess urgency. You want to say that it felt like that. It felt like take advantage of this situation. You don't have trae young. We don't have y- honest take advantage of this in fact. Here's nate. Mcmillan the hawks head coach on the box last night. We knew that they were gonna come with that sense of urgency tonight. They were going. Continue to attack even without jaanus in the lineup. That's just how they play. We knew that they would look to go to lopez more and they did and they dominated the pink tonight yet. Brook lopez who would've thought now brook lopez used to be a low post guy and then he famously went out and reinvented himself as a three point shooter. He was back dunking last night. He had thirty three. Bobby portis whose nickname is crazy is really i think is. Is that right. Todd bobby portis nickname crazy stories. Reggie miller refer to him as a half a dozen times. I'm wondering this puertas like that. But i think he actually embraced in sells crazy shirts merchandising. He added twenty two. Those are both career playoff highs. I don't think the bucks. I think the bucks had the lead in that. There is no lead change last night. I think milwaukee led wire-to-wire. They're mclovin bobby portis. Where was that guy heidi. why don't they. I saw a thing. They didn't play much against a net. He's like the third best player on the core. I wonder about boone holes or sometimes. That's what i'm saying like. How can we get this. Every time and portis is played with a variety of teams. I think he played in chicago and think you might have been with. New york might have been with the wizards but stepped up big last night. This program is brought to you by mercedes benz vans they go far beyond from their customisation options. Cutting edge tech five star sales service financial support crew mercedes. Benz vans built equipped engineer to be ready for anything. Go that extra mile taken the all important first step into an authorize dealership that what other poll questions are. Nba players. Today soft question. Mark and the reason i ask that is you see janas jumping around on the sideline you see trae. Young warm it up. You never saw that in the nineties. Because guys were on the court if they could walk. I don't get it. I just honestly. I'm sorry i do not understand. Why some of these players not playing. Yeah but this is the era of caution though if you look at the amount of money that's at stake here and the investments that you have in these players and the players are going to make their. It's a cautionary tale. He's to conference finals. I i know that but you know who's criticizing or critiquing old people. i mean. young people probably go. yeah. I kind of get it. It's us it's me old people i remember. I remember back in the day. Jordan didn't even have a knee. Yeah but you know. You're you're looking at this situation. Janas might have to push it just a little bit here and i look. I'm not advocating for somebody to play if they can't play but you might not be one hundred percent as long as you're not risking future structural damage like he's got a guaranteed contract for two hundred and fifty million dollars. You got you. He might have to push it. He might have to go out. And say against the better judgement on my coaches. I want to go out there and play. You got an opportunity to win a championship. And as long as i had some safeguards in place that said hey you can go out. If you feel anything you start to swells. There's a tweak sit down that's it like joel. Embiid wasn't risking major surgery reconstructive surgery on his knee. He just he knew that he had a partial tear up to get that cleaned out. That's not a big deal nowadays but in this situation you might have to say to the greek freak. Hey we'll get we'll get through the eastern conference finals but we need you to try. We need you to push a little bit. Yeah paulie have. They said how bad is injury is like would he be in any risk of missing the nba finals. They advance. that hasn't been really released. No the only thing that we've read or heard. I didn't hear any other information other than that. It's unlikely that he's going to be able to play in the eastern conference final. You know what would be the worst thing for him. Or his brand for his legacy. The milwaukee bucks winning the title without him somehow he couldn't play. Ask carson wentz about that when your team wins the title and you don't play again. That's still good problem. Bucks'll take it bucks. Fans will sign up for it but him personally will settle on a poll question. Play of the day stat of the day. Why 'The Inside Story' Is so Great

"There's a series I've been watching. It's played before. It's called the inside story. It's about inside the NBA that great series with Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny the jet Smith and Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson. Great show, it's the best sports panel show of all time. And it's now it's in the broadcasting and television Hall of Fame because it's just so perfect. They were perfect without Shaq and they added Shaq they're in better now. It's a dynasty and it makes me laugh every fucking week. It's on. It's like that largely because executives didn't fuck with the talent. They just let them be who they are because they knew they were good at it.

So it's a front pocket wallet. I've been doing that for ten fifteen, probably twenty years now only because the way to the wall, I might behind was too much. Most people don't even do that, they base wage a couple of credit cards, or driver's license, and some cash with a rubber band around it with the cell phone. Now we can attach credit cards. And driver's license has a little pockets on the back and we don't necessarily need a wallet per se, but I can't imagine going fully without something in my front pocket, dead.

You don't have control so for me not giving it. Honestly you know it definitely was tough and guys like charles barkley shack others who played against the clan. Help validate that. And then you get to the point where you say you know what i am. Famer don trying to be cocky descending on. I know what i did. And so what i did was i wanted i really. Who will be Indianapolis Colts' quarterback in 2021

"But we begin today with music that philip rivers is retiring after seventeen seasons in the nfl. Sixteen with the chargers and san diego and los angeles and this one season in indianapolis when he got to the playoffs rivers never got to the super bowl but he stands fifth all time in passing yards and touchdown passes and he started the final. Two hundred forty games of his career without interruption will now become a high school football coach in alabama. Like his dad. We'll how will you remember his career. Well tony we automatically in any sport. Now we began to group people right and we associate certain people with certain folks football. It's done by position you know in a way that is probably not in the other sports. But i think of warren moon and dan fouts guys who were prolific prolific players who had long runs and played almost every game and they had a piled up passing stats. Galore like rivers did but they didn't reach the super bowl and then about through no fault of their own. Their teams weren't good enough. They got close. Each of those three gentlemen got close. But didn't have the breakthrough to the super bowl and rivers the same way river sets himself apart because he ran his mouth a lot. Which i have done without and i tend to like trash talkers but i i am. I didn't take to that. But he was a prolific quarterback. Tony he will receive serious consideration for the hall of fame. You know. I mean fouts and moon that to me shapes the category. I don't know if you've got other names. You'd like to put in there as well. Get to the hall of fame in a second but in looking at philip rivers his career. I thought he was a very very good player. I will remember. Most is the way the way he delivered the ball where he wound up and threw it as far as he could. And most of the time you thought it wasn't even going to get there. But it got there especially with antonio gates and it ended up in the end zone a lot. You talked about grouping people. Well i'm gonna group them as well. I'm going to group them with his draft class and draft class ally manning ben rothlisberger. They both dot to multiple super bowls. They both won super bowls. I feel badly for philip rivers in this regard to me. It's like charles barkley. It's everything but the ring because the statistics are certainly there. And i thought it was a very good quarterback. I'll take the hall of fame issue. I'll add another name dan marino. Who never won a super bowl if the comparables to marino and to moon and to fouts are rare. Then he's going to get in. I don't think they hold it against you. If you haven't won a super bowl there are people who've won. Two super bowls aren't in the hall of fame. You not room for a long ten years. Yeah do you think he would get in.

NBA teams kneel during national anthem as season restarts

"Night, the embassy isn't got underway. And of course, there was a lot of attention being brought to what would happen during the national anthem. There were two games last night, and everybody kneels every single player, every single coach, even the officials. They all take a knee for solidarity with the national anthem. So I was curious as to what the broadcasters of the game on TNT, Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley had to say, kind of surprising, actually, listen to Charles Barkley's response here. You're going to hear from shack first and then Charles Barkley type of God. They say you should do is you should do that. Everyone has their own platform. You know they're on their own brand. I'm proud of every one. And my thing is Listen. That's not the mean different things to different people. I'm glad these guys all unified where the people people don't kneel. You're not a bad person. I want to make that perfectly clear. I'm glad they had unity. But if we have a guy who doesn't want to kneel called the After me some to him, he should not be vilified. Listen

'The Last Dance:' Debate over Michael Jordan's trash talking on 1997-98 Chicago Bulls

"More discussion this morning. Of course about the last dance the legacy of Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls teams of the nineteen nineties and whether or not the way Jordan governed that group demanded of them held them accountable. Some might say bullied them was fair. Michael Wilbon who covered Jordan Bulls and knows Jordan about as well as anyone in the media. This side of a moderate shod. Join Max Steven A. And discussed the question was Michael Jordan. Too tough on his teammates. What were your thoughts when you heard. What Charles Barkley had to say about Michael Jordan In regards to his treatment of his teammates. Well look everybody's gotTa take on. Michael and how? Ruffy was teammates. Select Selective Prosecution. Was the words he used select. Prosecution said look everybody had a different leadership style. Reason part of the reason for this documentary reasoning exists is because Michael decided okay. I'm going to be able to sort of control the conversation in terms of why I did what I did and how I did it. I it comes out and says hey you know you've had this conversation with them. He wasn't trying to adopt anybody else's leadership style. He was going to do this his way. And when it worked then you had to. You heard him during. I thought the most effective part of the last dance department made me reach for a notebook and put my reporter hat back on his when Michael Said you know. Winning has a price. And if you don't want to buy into the mentality. I am using here. Get out it's GONNA be. It's GonNa be hell for you. I think was the phrase. And so you see all those teams that you see will produc- Winnington and those guys say at the time that we did it. Seem like he crossed the line. Yes as went on. Did we think he was a great teammate? Yes this is not look you can have whatever take you. WanNa have on it and I understand Charleston's take because it was different but nobody else in their time as much I mean magic and Kareem on the way in but it worked and so I even sit. There does interesting mom watching in real time I have not. I did not watch all the episodes of advanced like most people in our business. I wanted to watch in real time with my son. Who's a twelve year old basketball player and his eyes so big? When Michael says certain things to his teammates we are watching the unedited version The watch the PG rated version of the DEUCE and he's like. Wow Dad he has to do that with his teammates. And I'm like I don't know if he had to but it worked they won and that's the bottom line right. There is the quote that tells you at all they won in Jordan's way worked. Max made a great point during the you know there was no Celtics Lakers rivalry. There wasn't because Jordan he was Roy Jones. He was so good. There were no equals. No rivals

You know there's like three cases that changed the face of force in one dispenser Haywood Heywood versus the NBA. I went to the Supreme Court and then play a young player. Started like Whoa wait a minute. I know him I see him but I never knew that until Charles was the one that should should should be there. And he's my what you call. My advocate advocate is Just to a good person. Just a wonderful person. Spencer Haywood won Olympic gold medal in one thousand nine hundred sixty eight at age nineteen and signed with the Seattle Supersonics two years later after dominating the ABA and a case that went to the US Supreme Court he sued the NBA or rule that prohibited players being draft until the league until they waited for years after graduating from high school. He won that case and nineteen eighty. He won a world championship with the Los Angeles Lakers as a twenty rookie in nineteen sixty nine. Seventy season he led the American Basketball Association both scoring and rebounding and was named the League's Most Valuable Player and rookie of the year. One on April twenty seven nineteen forty nine and silver city Mississippi into a family of Chen Children Hayward grew up in a dying era of American history. His mother picked cotton for two dollars a day and Heywood joined her in the field at the age of five hundred sixty four he moved to Chicago then to Detroit in the motor city. He leads pershing high school to the one thousand nine hundred sixty seven Michigan class. A State Basketball Championship. He went on to a stellar careers at Trinidad State Junior College and the University of Detroit in the summer of nineteen nine hundred sixty eight. He helped the United States to a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Mexico City on September. The eleventh. Two Thousand Fifteen. Hey what was inducted into Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of fame? My first reaction was You know is this fact in. Is this true because I had had Three falls a long before that because most reporters and most people who look at numbers and they at by numbers as a player and that this guy was. Mvp of the ABA averaging thirty and twenty five years with the Seattle Supersonics average in twenty six and thirteen and Olympic record holder and all of these different categories and as still as leading score and also was the outstanding college player of the year. So they look at all these things and they just assume that everybody thought again. Then you know also I went to the Supreme Court to fight he would versus the NBA to pave the way for Lebron's Michael Jordan magic. All of them they come through what is called. I the NBA. They call it early entry and now. I think it should be called what it is to Spencer. Haywood because they have the Larry Bird rule and they have Oscar Robertson. Rule regrettably Oscar but I know they promote birds and Larry Bird's modified version of my role. Larry Bird came in on a dispenser. It will but anyway so for years we thought this would happen and then there was a couple of false alarms that it did happen. So I was kidding around with John Deliver with the The Chairman and CEO. The hall and he was mentioning. You know. Well I probably spend Kareem. Rise is always the top. Yeah I said well. What does that got to do with with Kareem abdul-jabbar? My my blonde jokes Right so so Yeah it was. It was delighted. Mandic to get the call and to finally get to call it. Finally get it in but you know my mother used to sing this whole Psalm Lord and may not come when you want and buddies right on time. And that's my Jackson right so you know if it had to happen any other time. I think it would have been not as powerful as it is today and It was right on time. And it's on God's time so I'm very grateful and very humble Vita journey understand so once. You heard that you were going to be inducted. Walk us through that period from the time that you got to call to the induction ceremony that took place last Friday. September the eleventh. What all the activities have you been involved with. Well I've been all over the country Speaking and people wanting to know this story because it's a unique story and it is basketball history but yeah you know it hasn't been told so It's a new newfound appreciation for Spencer. Haywood so players have been embracing me like only at USA basketball here. In Las Vegas Games all the players on that team Blake Griffin. All of the young guys coming up and giving me hugs and kisses and thanking me. Because you know that situation just in terms of dollars and cents per Lebron James. He's got an extra one hundred million dollars. Coby got a one extra one hundred million dollars but griffin got extra fifty million dollars Kevin Durant who give me a big hug. 'cause he's got seventy five million dollars extra so that's the numbers in dollars and sense that. I give you an example of what it is because with with four years. If you have to wait for years after your high school classic graduate you would lose that kind of capital and you'll lose that plan time loser scoring titles you'll lose numbers that will help them get into the hall. Later on those numbers would be raced. And you don't know what's going to happen in four years in college. You could get hurt. A lot of things could happen so they fully appreciating news. So it's a good feeling because of forty four years more to this to happen so it is It is right on time on God. Signed so and then I went to I've been doing a lot of golf. Tournaments or charitable events and also just playing a lot and I spend a Lotta time with my family. My daughters and in fact I gotTA leave Again next week my next two oldest daughters having our first grand and So I gotta go in go through the process with her and It is it is a spectacular time and I also sit back John and and think about the times we were sitting in your dad's barber shop. They all sunset and this and just Nevada in Detroit for people who don't know right in Detroit Michigan and John Fathers where we congregate And and and and do our conversation and get a nice. Yeah because he didn't allow us to walk around. I hair off falling away years and stuff. So that's right. Yeah you know that's right So we would sit there and listen and talk and just pass the ball sports but all so I've been reflecting on Detroit. I went over to my neighborhood yesterday. day before yesterday and spent some time over there. Thursday and looking around and just just hearing up. Because done you know the story you know. When I came up from Mississippi I had no place to say I had no family there and James and either bill took in and adopted me along with my coach. Will Robinson and then we had waned diet. Dr Wayne die of your your own zone by Diet. Right Do all of my academics bring me up to snuff there. Oh my God it was just A. It's just a lot of love was having an and I see in Detroit and it's always been that way you know. They've always reached out and help each

An Interview with WWE Legend Kurt Angle

"Incredibly pleased society. We've got joining us. Who never quite expected? That's phones on silent everyone. I never expected that we would have on. Tko wwe wrestling legend. Kurt Angle first of all. Thank you so much for for taking the time to join us. Thanks for having me on. And let's see you're over here with them. WWe promoting the new bt sport. Yes exclusively in the UK for the two thousand and twenty busy day few. Yeah we started early morning and we're GONNA go out tonight we just have like a a gathering at bt. Not and. I think it ends at eleven o'clock but we started early morning and this is normal for for sports entertainers. Yeah do a lot of media so going a huge wrestling fan on A. You didn't have sky in your house. Yes so I was like an a young kid by Cole I was Afam. wrassling bottom was on the subway channels and I didn't have sky the watch it as much as other guys. Yeah but I was obviously a world of high beg ables. Did you know when you first joined. Because obviously in these this day and age social media the Internet you know how truly global the companies and how far you're reaches but were you aware in in the late ninety s just how many people were watching worldwide now. I I didn't watch wrestling. I didn't grow up watching it. I start watching it it would. I started so when I saw the company late ninety eight. That's when I started watching I do WanNa come on those days. But he's okay. You got quite like to find Natalie about your amateur wrestling career because as a professional sportsman. That's something that you were known for his part of your. WWe character but actually that was a huge part of your career and your life you were in a family of rest is your brother's arrest sits right yeah had four brothers. They all wrestled. They were all very successful. I was the youngest. Didn't really like wrestling. The START WITH I. I like team sports. I didn't like it depending solely on me but the more I watched my brothers and growing up I start liking wrestling. I started getting better and eventually I got better than they were and then I became came the best of my family by win the Olympic medal. Yeah 'cause wrestling in America's be of a high school institution because we have it starts when you're serve in elementary school visit. Almost every school has a program right so junior high high school college. It's very big over there. So it's it's part of our culture because a lot of people call for boxing to be put into schools as part of the curric- it used to be in the schools and there's a call for it become back and installs obviously a lot of discipline and everything else and you see the the problems that society has these with Nayef Cram and gang culture and everything else. I think. Think that programs like that rather than in the states and boxing programs and the stats are in the UK. Only going to help us. What point did you? What age did you think this could really be serious for me as a career I would say around thirteen fourteen? I started having a lot more success and got to the high school level and I lost success there and it just carried over to college and I didn't really. Oh you think about Olympics. When I was younger I just thought about that season and if I could win the championship that year and every year I continue to win which Olympic I'm big city one nine hundred ninety six Atlanta Atlanta well? Is that your proudest moment. Out of everything you've done in your career. Olympic gold medal surpasses says anything. Yeah it was You know even bigger than anything. I've accomplishing wwe. Yeah Yeah Imagine. That was a kind of Golden Olympics for the US esteem cousteau was the homeland picked. Michael Johnson it like the basketball team is Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal came one. Those guys Gail Devers. Even Andre Agassi won the tennis and we're legends in that team. What was it like to be off in the Olympic Village? Seeing those people it was pretty cool. You know you knew it was special when you went to opening ceremonies and you saw the athletes there and the guys you mentioned they were the guys and girls that were participating that were already professionals professionals and they made it you know viable for pros to end up competing in the Olympics and so you saw basketball and tennis. Ns and now even golf. So the the pros are going and winning medals as well now so those of it because one of the things the Olympics exp boxing is one of the only sports where there is a kind of. There's another trajectory and other policy if you win a medal for of sports certainly minority sports. That aren't necessarily a lot of TV coverage the Olympic medal can often be the kind of end of the road. There isn't anywhere else. I speak to go resting very well. Be One of those is and and so for you that amazing so the question I was going to ask you without. FMA How to beg then as it was Ni- would you have took that pop rather than the wwe without a doubt. Yeah wow it wasn't at that point. UFC struggling they offered me a ten fight. Deal for one hundred fifty grand and that was our biggest contract they ever offered. This was in ninety seven and then sound very good to me so I decided decide to go pro wrestling and by two thousand one two thousand and two you have see was kicking in high gear but I was already drawn in and a pro wrestling scene. So how how did the what was the chain of events that let you to the door of of the W W well in one thousand nine hundred sixty minutes man offer me a contract. I flew up to meet with them and I wasn't interested. I had a lot of people. Tell me you know you grew up. You never watched the Fake what you did was real a lot of my peers. Were telling me don't do it. So my agent through the contract the way and I'd say in one thousand nine hundred star watching Watching stone. Don't go Steve Austin the Rock and however flannel. They weren't how entertaining they were. I thought man I could do this. I think it'd be a lot of fun and you have see at the time. Time wasn't going anywhere so I went with a wwe. What was the the early memories? Because I imagine wrestling's one of the toughest sports there is a is a amateur wrestling but of red. If in a few places that is a pro wrestling were were incredibly tough. What were your first memories of some of the first lessons and training training sessions? You did all the first day. When I started training I quit? I took three bumps and my neck the pain I was getting my neck and back it was like this isn't normal. You don't it's like self abuse and you know we bump on plywood. It's a lot like this and There's no spring underneath It is self mutilation. You're you're basically beating that crap on yourself because you're allowing. I mean people were throwing around and take your head off with a clothesline and the object. You're bumping on his plywood so it was very abusive in the first day. I I didn't like it and I decided to hang in there. I came back the next day and I continued on. I got used to bumping and and used the pain so eventually didn't bother me as much but I'm paying for it. Now see a leg generation before ours. My Dad's generation. They would not really look favorably upon the tablet Ali. But what these guys do is take some serious stick their body. There's some serious injuries and stuff. It's you know your two weight world champion. And you've taken many punches to the head and body is is anyone WanNa taking a lifetime. What is what is pain to you guys? How do you manage pain? Do you ever get used to it as ever become less painful or do you just become used to living in that place. It's something you get used to. And as a young boxer I think Jimmy Moore. My trainer is spoke about this and said that you can tell from a very young age or someone hazard or not and it's normally a kids barn and if they take a punch annoys on they don't cry and they punch back it's like you can't make the Paean it's like I don't know what obviously adrenaline carries you through a lot of it but it's not like a real specific. If you punch me in the arm Ni- I would feel feel more pain than actually punching ahead fate strange sensation. It's not nice but it's very very hard up. Manassas gray but law detainees. I've not been able describe pain amateur wrestling pro wrestling. What are the worst kind of pain that you can describe? And how do you deal with those. I think the worst pain I had and I still have it now as an amateur wrestling right before the Olympics I got thrown on my head and I broke my neck and I didn't know it. I kept wrestling again that day. I ended up winning the US Open and that put me in a good position to make the Olympic team for the Olympic. Trials made me the top guy so I didn't have the Russell the mini tournament Face the winner of the mini tournament. I was the guy that the mini tournament faced. So Oh i I I couldn't get passed by any doctor doctor. Wood Passer would allow me to wrestle so I eventually found a doctor and and he said the only thing you can do. You can't train you just would just stick in a neck with Nova game and you won't feel the pain. And he was right every match. I had at the trials and the Olympics. I got twelve shots. Novacaine the back of my neck couldn't feel it for about an hour and Russell and then an hour later I'd be in a lot of pain. You won the Olympic Games uh-huh with a broken neck that's insane quotes and wwe also. Yeah yeah I broke both my hands. The last vote doesn't ideal and it wasn't wasn't nice but it's hard to imagine when the pinnacle of Your Sport Olympic Games to be competing against the top guys in the world with a broken neck does that. I can't imagine boxing. We're broken hand. We are called you a few weeks ago and you said this is the most pain I think I've ever been in the radon especially she'll have a little bit of bone removed from the right time but there there was a a tendon that had ripped and it needed stitch together without that Han was give me more than than the left hand which has seven unscrews and appropriate and at night. He's but just because it had to have some work done the Tandon It was It wasn't wasn't nice. I WanNa ask you a question. Did you know ahead had a time that you're gonNA be suffering after your career from the injuries. Would you go back and when you do it all over again I we do it all over again because obviously enjoyed every bit of my career. I've been very successful more successful than I probably would have imagined. I've been lucky enough that my injuries alot. My last night I broke Mahan but previous my husband really suffered injuries but I would one hundred percent hop gum heart do it all over again. What about you? I don't know I mean I'm I'm hurting pretty badly my knees my back my neck. Sometimes I think about you know what when I go back my quality of life right now socks so I do have a lot of suffering. I had a painkiller addiction overcame about six years ago and you know stay clean and struggle. In the way I have been very difficult. was there a lot of pressure even when you had injuries week in week out to go and perform Tom. Did you ever feel that. You couldn't say no part of the problem no I I. Nobody ever forced me to do anything. There are a lot of times. I had a a great doctor that you gave me off had three neck surgeries and he was very easy to manipulate. So you know when I broke my neck and I had surgery I would talk him into clear Amina go back early and At the time he didn't have their wellness policy L. A. C. set where they had their doctor clear. You we go to our own doctor and I was able to do that a couple of times where I should have. I've been back and I did so I broke my neck four more times and WWF and It caused me to go into a downward spiral painkiller. Alert addiction in just almost room my life so it was. It was very difficult. Can I just say you have one of the strongest biggest looking knocks. Have you seen as well. Yeah Rick out again. Yeah wow so. How many times are you performing when when you when you arrested him? Mm to twice a week. You'll be performing five days a week. You for forming five

"Nike promotes itself as a so called social justice champion when it comes to Hong Kong if the first checking its social conscience at the door Mike pence not let it go that Nike has a company believes in taking a stand but is it really taking a stand on principle if you benefit financially from the stand and if you would refuse to take a stand if I were a Harley financially it's not just self interest you could even argue maybe it's good business but it's not what it is at least not as we have been led to believe what they should be practiced it's not praise it's not courage what is it exactly what is it that we need to understand here about Nike now Charles Barkley I remember watching Sir Charles which is what he was called because of I believe that maybe was a Nike campaigner Reebok campaign I can never back in the day I did watch a lot of bass program actually played basketball growing up I was pretty decent hello point guard you know that's gonna say in the mold of John Stockton or Steve Kerr I could dribble I could shoot but this is Steve Kerr the one now who's just hates America my right yes he's the head coach of the Golden State Warriors he's on hates America is he's very woke anyway Charles Barkley you never know what you're together sometimes he has his moments of of analytic brilliance not just about sports but about things in general I've heard him say very funny very entertaining things very insightful things in fact and he's not afraid to say whatever but I gotta say disagree with Sir Charles here as he has some harsh words for the vice president added states like a twenty please let me say this vice for the president to suffer hello all American companies are doing business in China all American companies are doing business on a hot topic criticism of commissioner silver and lebron James was unfair isn't there a more who I like he should have you can say whatever he wants to but there are consequences I don't understand why these whole really about politicians so one of war about China won't be stopped all transactions with China's president trump has been an ardent with terrible China for the last two years on fair for them to do all their business shama just because this thing happen try to make the NBA and our players look bad all American companies do business in China I think Mister Barclay here is leaving out some important components of this for one he yes all American come on I'm not that's action after all of them but my American companies are doing this with China that is by and large a true statement and not all American companies hold themselves up as champions of social justice and an individual rights and and you know human dignity human rights whatever maybe Nike does Nike makes it very very public runs campaigns about how they do care about those things so that I think it is fair to ask okay so do they only care about those things though when there's no consequence for caring about it that's what Charles Barkley is missing here you know lebron James did not have to speak out on the issue of the more you tweet and China lebron James didn't just say something he said that Maury doesn't know what he's talking about and more he does know what he's talking about and he's right we just leave that we we push out off to the side so I I would know that there it's important that we not lose sight of what really has gone on here what the reality of this China situation truly is but here again just real quick from vice president pens click with ten please China will step forward sees this unique moment in history start a new by ending the trade practices an advantage in the American people for far too long I know president Donald Trump is ready and willing to begin that new future trump was right about China has been right about China doesn't get nearly enough credit for answers right about China as well any change course wrong need to confront them in ways that are constructive the

Charles Barkley's Warriors Prediction Was Extremely Wrong

"We promised to Charles Barkley last Thursday and today, we deliver, let's welcome back NBA on TNT analyst, early member of the ball brotherhood, and EMMY award winner ten fifteen times Charles Barkley because we love you. We're going to play a small clip here when Kevin Durant got hurt. You had some interesting comments, you won't see it, but you'll hear it 'til we play those, please. They're not going to be two rockets without K D, And they're not going to be Portland or Denver. Dow K where we all right. So because again, we love you, what have you got to save yourself, as they have moved on. Well, listen, nothing but kudos, first of all I was one hundred percent wrong, but kudos to the Golden State Warriors, and the two things strike me. Steph curry is put his name back in the conversation. Tony, we talk about the best players in the world. We took it. We talk about Katie Janas Kawai. Lebron Steph covers proven re he's the two time MVP he's been fabulous. But I wanna give shut up to Steve Kerr and his coaching staff because they got guys on the bench who have come into game going back to game six against Houston, and played fabulous. And that's the coaching staff. It lets me know when they're not playing games. They're working with those young players. So though, to two things that stood out to me doing this four game winning streak against the blazers and being the rockets in game, six Charles, you liked Portland, all year. A year. And even this week, they had double digit leads in the last three games. I mean, clearly they weren't scared the warriors, but they couldn't close. What did you see? Why couldn't they close any of those games out? Mike. I'm not gonna watch. I was very disappointed the trailblazers. I picked him to get to the finals to have three double digits lose lease and lose those games that can't happen, but was more disconcerting to me dim getting swept. You know, one thing, I'm very proud of I never got swept in a four-game series. You gotta have guys on your team. At least one guys that we're not gonna get swept. You can lose the series. But you can never give swept that tells me some stuff going on, they're not mentally tough enough Charles you. And I of course are here in Toronto for tonight's game four with bucks. And raptors can you see for a second straight game? Toronto's defense with all that double teaming ill led by Leonard keeping Janas having a mediocre game again tonight. Do you see it happening again? Well, I think it's going to be interested in night because of the double overtime game Kawai looks like he's a little injured to me to raptors. Do not have the depth to complete compete with the bucks. I think is going to be very interesting. How they come back physically from a double overtime game. I really want to run toe to win the game tonight. I would love to see a six seven game series to sit on this over out west of amendment. Walk is going to be tough to beat 'cause they got in my opinion.
