"Poor policing. There are more people out there than just me, but, you know, they've been silenced. I'm comfortable speaking out about this. I happen to be someone who, you know, speaking out, has been part of my role. But so many other people don't feel able to do that. I mean, we've not heard from Sarah everard's family. They're doing what most people do when they had tragic circumstances. So no judgment there. But most people, when they're traumatized in this way, you turn in on yourself. When I thought of you a couple of weeks ago with that report with the charing cross police station. You know, you and I do keep in touch and we do message and you talked about in all of those messages, if you don't want me saying it was a very difficult moment. I can't imagine how triggering these reports can be. Do you sort of have to go in on yourself for a few days to kind of have my husband's nodding when people said that? Yeah, I do. I go very dark. I still like, don't want to sit with anyone. Just watching Netflix or pondering over it. And it goes over and over again. I then get back on that treadmill and I imagine, you know, all the things that have happened, what they've said and the more you find out you kind of think they are, there is a rotten streak. These are Lasty nasty people. They're right wing, you know, supremacists. You're not going to necessarily know people's politics or who are you talking about there, sorry, are you talking about? I'm talking about some of the text messages to some of those abusive messages. If you look at the abusive messages from those texts, the things that they're saying, the kindest thing you could say is that, you know, they're outdated views, relationships. How can you say, you know, have you slapped your misses yet? And so we're talking about the charing cross because she's here, not what happened with your girls. No. But I can't say on air. The WhatsApp group for our girls was. It is so horrendous. And it's not the two dead birds one. It's the other one. And if you don't, if you don't know what that is, have a look, it says everything about it. And you have to live with that, you know, that's not a news story in your life. That is a reality. Yeah. And it is,.

"Who at that stage was one of the leading experts in bladder stone. Surgery in england was called to trade him and he worked with clever regularly so they they caught the train. Let's just some wonderful letters in the papers. Where henry thompson wrote a note saying dear clover. Please be at the to fifteen train at charing cross to go with major trait. The emperor will be back at five but they weren't well. I think they come back the first day but they went back and ended up staying there for quite a few days because he needed quite a lot of operations. So the pullman given chloroform seemed to go well what went. Wrong with your ration. Well i think he had a number of bladder stein's couldn't get them all out and he got increasingly septic and was really dying of of sepsis and fortunately for clover on the last day they had decided they were going to operate and clover went to see him and being a good pair operative physician. He examined him and said. He wasn't fit for anaesthesia but that they should wait and reconsider later in the day and then about an hour later he died so clova was very fortunate that he had made that assessment. And knock on the head with the carphone. Cozy almost certainly would have died under the which wouldn't have been great for for anybody although plenty of conspiracy theories going around about the death of his predecessor. He's napoleon the i do of poisoned seemingly in the hudson helena in the middle of the atlantic ocean were the conspiracy theories about the death of these nephew. Louis napoleon definitely and they were definitely french sympathisers. Hey thought that the the british surgeons had killed him. There was a lot of bad press when a lot of conspiracy theories. Nothing was very different in the eighteen. Seventy two now the were there are lots of conspiracy theories and and bad press about it still articles written now about whether he was killed by the surgeons but i think the overwhelming evidence is that he died of sepsis in that. They made a good decision not to do that. Last operation he lost a few patients. Coveted on la by administering chloroform. For reasons. as you laid out this so we went back as you say to working with ether this time mixed with nitrous oxide. Why was that such a good idea. The mix of the two the mix of the two allows you to control the more carefully of the aether but also to allow you to put the patient off to sleep with the nitrous oxide rather than the patients didn't like the smell of aether whereas nervous. Oxide is quite pleasant to inhale so what clover would do is give them nitrous oxide to start with. And then as they got used to the nitrous oxide and started to lose consciousness he will gradually introduce the aether into the mix until it got to the point where he could give more and less nitrous oxide to essentially the nitrous oxide and ether ties to the point where they could see the ether and then could that intern and they serve to the point where i can have the surgery essentially and we still do that today. We don't use a lot of nitrous oxide today. But some patients really can't tolerate right injections or we can't get into vein or for whatever reason they want what we call a guests induction and we will often use nitrous oxide in air or oxygen to start off that induction and gradually introduced the vapor. And we we can do it without success but we still have nitrous oxide available if we needed..

"Seen it with the this Bruins team. We've seen it 2018 Red Sox team like the chemistry really help the team and we see it with the New York Rangers. Like they got rid of Tony. Diangelo and this team just feels like a different team. They feel happier. They they're I don't think they're winning so much now but they won like the first two or three games since they got rid of him and just having that chemistry and getting rid of what does it work like mention the people who do work. Well together is so important and you don't want to mess that up. You don't want to bring somebody in who doesn't suck. With the team who doesn't want to play like how the team plays and that's another thing too. I mean you're bringing in somebody who maybe hasn't played in the NHL for a while. You've been under different coaches different teammates and other different captains and it's it can be a risk. It's a risk whenever you make a trade or claim somebody off waivers. But yeah, I think there's some decisions to be a need and I think they need to think of the chemistry they have now especially with I just feel like this group of forwards is so strong that it might not be worth getting rid of one person to bring somebody who maybe doesn't fit in as well as they were hoping for them to be I think team chemistry and Sports in general is like a super underrated important like undervalued factor in team success. Yeah, there are plenty of great athletes throughout history who have played with other great athletes and like did not like each other at all. They could like succeed and feed off of each other's energy on birth. Court because they're still motivated to succeed but I think that it's also just more enjoyable like you think about last year's Celtics and they just had such great team chemistry or the 2018 Red Sox were like, they're having fun. They genuinely love playing each other. I mean like even the 2016 Red Sox Outfield you love seeing them do wind dance repeat every single night and are you know ninety nights not every single night, but I'm curious what the biggest surprise of the Bruins season has been for you for me. I think it's the defense because I went in kind of not feeling good about them because of Charing Cross living and through the first couple of games and they were allowing minimal shots on goal..

"Since we started writing down the history of our race man has frequently come up with never ending were voting methods of killing for punishment. This is a list of the most heinous methods of execution from history and by the grace. Of God. Most of them are no longer used I we turn to Greece and the brazen. Bull. The brazen bull was invented bob parallels of ATMs abreast worker in the sixth century BC and offered as a gift to a ruler name Flores. It was a large brass bowl that was completely hollow on the inside with the door on the side large enough for a man to enter. Once the man was inside the ball I fire would be lit beneath in order to roast him to death in the head of. The bull parallels put a series of tubes and stops that were designed to amplify the screams of the victims and make them sound like the roar of a bull. But as we know, Karma can be a wicked bitch and parallels was the first person to feel the pain after parallel said to the ruler screams will come to you through the pipes as the tenderest most pathetic most melodies of Bella wings the rule was. So. Disgusted that he tricked parallels into entering the ball himself the ruler father went on to say that his words revolted me Paulo. The dog about such ingenious cruelty unresolved to punish him in kind if this is anything more than an empty boast perilous, he said to him. If you're art can really produce this effect, get inside and pretend to roar and we'll see whether the will make such music as you described. Paralyze consented and when he was inside the ruler closed the door and ordered a fire to be kindled beneath him. The ruler said was see I. cried that do reward of your wondrous art. Let the music master be the first to play parallels was removed from the ball before he died in the ruler had him thrown off a cliff? The brazen bull became one of the most common methods of execution in ancient Greece. Next up, we have hanging drawing and quartering. Hanging drawing and quartering was the common form of punishment in England for the crime of treason which was considered the worst crime you can commit. The punishment was only applied to men. Women found guilty of treason were burnt to the stake. Unbelievably, this punishment remained in law until eighteen fourteen. The first stage of execution was to be tied to a wooden frame and dragged behind a horse to the. Place of your death following that the criminal would then be hanged until nearly dead, he will be removed from the news and laid out on a table. Then to make for one hell of a conclusion, the execution are within disembowel and emasculate the victim and burn his genitals right in front of his is the victim was still be alive at this point, the person will then be beheaded and their. Body cut into quarters the famous Dari from a witness in one of these executions said to my lords in the morning where I met with captain cuts. But my Lord not being up I went out to charring cross to see Major General Harris hanged drawn and quartered, which was done there. He looking cheerful as any man could in that condition, he was presently cut down and his head and. Heart shown to the people at which there was great. Shouts of joy does it was my chance to see the king beheaded at Whitehall and to see the first blood shed in revenge for the blood of the king at charing cross the normal practice was to send the five parts of the body to various areas where they would then be put on display on a gibbon as warning to others. Next up we have burning. Burning at the stake was normally done in one of two ways. In the first, the victim would be led to the center of a wall of sticks and Straw, and tied to the stake after which the space between the criminal and the wall would be filled with would concealing the person it is believed that this is the manner in which Joan of Arc was burnt. The other method was to pile sticks and straw up to the level of the cavs. Only when performed by skilled executioner, the person would burn in this sequence. cavs dies enhance torso and forearms breasts upper. Chest face and then finally death needless to say this would have been a horrible way to die if a large number of people where to be burned at the same time death could occur through carbon monoxide poisoning before the fire would reach you. If the fire was small, you could die shock blood loss or heat stroke. In later versions of burning at the stake, the criminal would be hanged until dead and then burnt symbolically, this method of execution was used to burn witches in parts of Europe, but it was not used in England for that purpose next we have linked. Execution by a thousand cuts lean. She was practiced in China until it was outlawed in nineteen o five in the execution, the criminal is slowly cut in the arms legs chest. Until finally they are beheaded and stabbed in the heart many western accounts of the execution method are largely exaggerated with some claiming that the execution took days to perform one modern I witnessed report from journalist and politician Henry Norman describes the execution as the criminal is fastened to. A rough cross and the executioner with sharp knife begins by grasping hand fools from the fleshy parts of the body such as the thighs and the breast and slicing them off. After this, he removes the joints and one by one he removes the nose ears, fingers and toes. Then the lambs are cut off piecemeal at the wrists ankles, the elbows and knees this shoulders and the hips. Finally, the victim is stabbed in the heart and his head lopped off. Next we have the breaking wheel. The breaking wheel was also known as the Catherine Wheel and it was a mid evil execution device. The criminal will be attached to a cart wheel and his arms and legs stretched out along the spokes. The will would be made to turn a heavy metal bar or a hammer would deliver bone breaking blows to the body between the spokes. It would have to be a Co Day inhale before merciful executions ordered but sometimes those days came if a merciful execution had been ordered after a large number of were shattered, fatal blows would be delivered in cases were mercy was. Not offered that criminal would remain on the wheel until they died. This could sometimes take days and the person would die of shock and dehydration. After the shattering was complete the lambs of the person will be woven between the spokes of the wheel, and the will would be hoisted to the top of a.

"Radio dot com. Come back to animal rights on radio. To Lincoln container conversation with the author Natalie, Cox took her a little bit about her book, Matz and mistletoe, novel little Bridget Jones twist with the all these wonderful dogs inside of so Natalie. Tell me a little bit about you, as a writer, obviously, this is a rom com type book, feel good, a little Christmas cheer here with all the animals is this, the type of book, she liked to read, and you like to write or is d have a combination of things. Have you done known fiction? I'm pretty I'm pretty eclectic. I think in my tastes. I do like to read this fiction, although I read across a fairly broad range. I've written a number of other books in other genres. This is certainly departure for me to write romantic comedy. But I've written store. I've written five novels and the historical fiction. I wrote a contemporary political thriller, and I read across quite a wide range. I actually own a bookshop in London. And as part of that I'm required to read. Quite widely, our shop is quite upmarket. It's highly curated quite literary. But what I would say, is that even our readers often come in saying, they'd like something that lider, you know, the world is kind of a difficult place to live in these days. And we are finding that more and more people are coming in saying, anything or just a bit easier to sink into. I'm going away for the weekend. So we're always in the shop on the lookout for good comic fiction. I don't think there's enough of it being written. And that's certainly one of the reasons that I decided to write this book was that I thought was a little bit of a dearth of things that make people smile. Absolutely. And I think for the holidays, especially, you know, we want something that's a little lighter a little bit of a fill. Good. Or, you know, your readers are sort of in this predicament themselves, because the holidays tap, you time to be a family, but not all families are the June and ward cleaver of. With the beaver at all, you know, all the other Phil goods for it's not always a Christmas story. Happy ending. Have a great book to sort of slope off from family gatherings. And this yourself and I think that's absolutely right. I'm a great. I'm a big fan of Christmas, and I love Christmas. And actually, one of the great things about working in retail, is that it is, you know, it's Christmas is the big time of year at retail, and we love froing ourselves into that. And with Charlie, I kind of took the I played kind of devils, visit and sort of try to put myself in the shoes of somebody who was just fed up with every aspect of the holidays. And so that over the course of the novel Charlie has to learn to love Christmas as much as I do and kind of get with the holiday spirit. And she does. Absolutely. Absolutely. So let's give a shout out to your to your bookstore. Oh, inc. And eighty four bookshop we are named after. I don't know if you remember a book and subsequent film called eighty four Charing Cross road which was a rather was written in the seventies it was a memoir. Buying American woman held howling, hands who had a twenty year, correspondence with an antiquarian bookseller in London on Charing Cross road. And it was very famous book and then it was subsequently turned into a stage play and ultimately a film. And when we found our unit we looked for a long time to find right unit, and it happened to have the street address on the road with eighty four. And we just thought that that was a sign from on high that we do the name of the Trump had to be an almost in some ways to this very famous book. So it's called Inc at eighty four. So when you're in the Greater London area, take a look at that for sure. So let's go to you would mention about your past writing, and a lot of it was serious stuff. You know, political type things history type things compare the two what were the pros and cons were the, the difficult things in writing this or was it a lot easier than than doing? Some of the other work you've done. Gosh. Oh, fiction is hard work at, you know, when people come to me, who are Spiring writers, you know, some of it is about talent. But awful lot of it is about raft and perseverance and I would say, you know, I'm might had some illusions about writing comic fiction being a bit easier at the outset but I don't have them now. You know, it isn't easy to be funny and it isn't easy to bring all the elements of a book. The plot characters setting the laughs the message to draw all together in a in a neat believable way is not simple. So why would say there probably wasn't as much research involved with this book at the outset as some of my others? It was still, you know, a challenge, and I'm working on another romantic comedy now that is also involves animals. It's setting zoo, an equally, you know, every on every page, you are working to find the hidden comic, elements and make sure that it'll come together on the page. Well in comedy, obviously comedy is not as you mentioned. It's not easy. It's all in the eyes or the, the hearing Harrier is companies being presented to you of whoever's listening, because what may be funny to meet may not be funny to you and the putting it down on paper, that's you know, that's a little bit different. To, you know. Yeah. Because obviously, for seeing a comedian performer, you, you can draw from that or for certain part of a bit doesn't work. They can move onto something else here. If a certain bit, especially at first part that first chapter that, that doesn't work, then. Yeah, it's not going to be a good thing for the book. Yeah. I mean, a lot of performance comedy is about the nuance of the performance or the physical elements of the performance, the slapstick. And when you're writing comic fiction, you have to somehow get those elements onto the page. It's it can be very, very difficult. You know, sometimes, I think I do a lot more visualization with this kind of writing than I ever have before, particularly when you're trying to write any kind of physical comedy, you have to have to see it very clearly in your mind in order to be able to describe it in words in a way that doesn't lose the comedy. So that's it's challenging. So I do think I use visualization a lot more in terms of a writing technique than I ever have had to. Before it's possibly less about the subtleties of language in the diction imagery still important. But the register of the official voice isn't quite as high tone, as I've written in before I'm probably paying slightly less attention to language in that way. But more attention to the kind of visual content. What I'm writing about. Yeah. I think that's I don't think any particular type of genre is easier to write than the others. And I think there are those misconceptions that even with a novel with the fiction that you can just take an idea that's sort of in your head and put it down on paper because there's a lot that goes into it. You gotta develop these characters at you as you had mentioned. And you gotta make sure it get you to where you need to be, you know, at the end of the day. -ccomplish is what you're waiting to -ccomplish. And there is that, that degree of you know, research in history. Can't go talking about a particular type of dog or a particular type of location unless you know about that particular dog or location is true. And I did rely heavily on the internet for that has not ever ridden in a sulky. I'm sorry to say. And I'm going to do it. I'm definitely going to do it. I just haven't had a chance yet. Internet is so good for all this. That's right. That's right. It's good for research. We'll tell the fans a little bit about where you're going to be what's happening. How can they find out more about Matz and mistletoe and find out more about user writer and all your happenings? Okay. Well, it's Matza mistletoe.
