Caller and Mark Levin Discuss Gender From 'American Marxism'

"I am I'm in chapter four of American Marxism I'm actually in Chicago I listen to it on tape in my office so turn several people out to it which is great because they're all very liberal where I work But I love I love the way it really meant something to me the way you came at the gender issues in American Marxism Because it made me realize something I grew up ten to 70s high schools in the 80s era When I was ten 11 years old I played ball with the boys I could hold my own And then puberty hit they got big and strong and I'd say to anybody Right And it really made me mad They're gonna tell that girl that she's a boy trapped in a girl's body and go take steroids and mutilate yourself I don't destroy my life Now I'm an adult woman and I have children I have a husband I have a nice house I would have destroyed everything because at 11 years old I wanted to throw a temper tantrum because I couldn't hit the ball as far as the boys that I played with the summer before And you'll notice in that chapter this is being pushed by the United Nations It's being pushed by all kinds of radical groups It's now in our school systems You have elementary school children learning about this stuff Elementary school children It's unbelievable You know what are these kids going to do I mean we're seeing anger now from these people Let's say let's see how the Democrats conduct themselves in Virginia if they're just going to vote party line which they tend to do Not given a damn what goes on in their schools and all the rest of it They slobber They go to the voting slobber Who's dynamic Terry McCall good

A Life of Rest in Christ

"Chapter three verse one the naomi. Her mother-in-law said to her my daughter. Should i not seek rest for you that it may be well with you. I wish i had time to dive into all the intricacies of what's happening here in ruth chapter three and had leads into ruth chapter four. But the reason. I wanna read this verse and lead us to pray. According to it is because naomi and ruth are in search of redeemer for them and boas in the story. Is that redeemer. What i love about the language here in verse one though is when naomi says to ruth my daughter. Should i not seek rest for you that it may be well with you and the picture is rest is only possible in the arms of a redeemer. And it's that picture that i want the lead us to pray. According to because the whole book of ruth is the story about naomi and ruth and boaz it's part of a much bigger picture the paints a portrait of god as our redeemer the lord as the one who redeems us jesus ultimately as our redeemer and ruth chapter three verse one is a reminder that rest is only an all timidly possible in the arms of a redeemer namely in the arms of jesus and for all who trust in jesus his rest is yours.

"Joshua chapter four versus nineteen through twenty four. The people came out of the jordan on the tenth day of the first month and then encamped gilgal on the east border of jericho and those twelve stones which they took out of the jordan. Joshua's set up at gilgal and he said to the people of israel when your children ask their fathers times to come. What did these stones mean. Then you shall let your children know. Israel passed over this jordan on dry ground for the larger. God dried up the waters of the jordan for you until you passed over as the lord. Your god did to the red sea which he dried up for us until we passed over so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the lord is mighty the you may fear the larger god forever so much in this passage so much in this passage to reflect on to pray according to but the picture that i want to focus on. Is this question when your children ask you. What did these stones means. They're setting up these stones as a remembrance of a win. God stop the waters of the jordan river just like he had stopped the waters of the red sea and he made away for his people to cross through and these stones will be a remembrance a marker of the day when god did that so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the lord is mighty and that you may fear the lord. Your god forever. I tell your children what god has done so they might fear the lord and so that all the peoples of the earth may know that god is mighty

"The day. Lafayette received his commission. Congress held a dinner for washington at city tavern having just march down with his army from new jersey washington was in philadelphia to confer with his civilian masters before he arrived. Washington was briefed on the appointment of the curious. Young french marquee. No doubt chagrined. Washington provisionally accepted the story. This frenchman was different at the dinner. The two sat at opposite ends of the table but afterward washington took lafayette aside spoke to him very kindly and then told him he should be pleased if he would make the quarters of the commander-in-chief his home and consider himself at all times. One of the family washington always referred to his circle of aides and fellow officers as his family. Lafayette took it to mean he was being invited into washington's personal household. He was thrilled by the unexpected gesture. For lafayette this was a seminal moment of his life it was the beginning of a relationship that would define long after washington was dead. Much has been made of the importance of the relationship especially given the emotional subtext of the childless washington and the fatherless lafayette each filling a hole in the heart for lafayette. There was a great deal of truth. This his i would be surrogate. The diane did not exactly pan out. Lafayette still needed. A father but washington's emotional needs are harder to gauge. He was surrounded by many young men in need of a father figure and he showed no great urge to be their adoptive father. in fact washington's isolating reserve and lack of personal affection were legendary. Lafayette broke through washington reserve. In a way those who knew the general best considered unique and unprecedented. We know however that on the night of july thirty. First 1777 george washington had no idea how much he would come to love this young french nobleman. Lafayette on the other hand already anticipated a great friendship washington became lafayette's idle mentor and role model. A model promising to balance many of his own impetuous behaviors. Lafayette was naturally and excitable. He was passionate bouncy eager intimate and friendly these qualities endeared lafayette to everyone. He met in america. They were also traits. No one used to describe. George washington and this is exactly what lafayette was looking for. He was acutely aware of his own social defects. His clumsy lack of grace and happy effervescence lead people to dismiss him and not take him seriously. Lafayette felt indulged and tolerated when he wanted admiration and respect when he looked at washington. Lafayette saw man projecting authority through calm stoic dignity in lafayette's nature to be calm stoic or dignified but with washington as his model he would forever try. Lafayette already emulated. His new role model in one damning respect george washington espoused the cause of liberty while enslaving human beings. He was one of the largest slave owners in north america and though it is often passed over we know during these early days in philadelphia. Lafayette came to own a slave. A quote negro boy purchased by one of the americans who sailed with him on lava tour. The boy was purchased in annapolis for a hundred and eighty pounds and use by lafayette to run errands philadelphia. No further references ever made to the boy after september. Seventeen seventy seven his life after this brief period. Lafayette is a total mystery. for lafayette. it became another inconvenient facts about his early life. He never spoke of in later years. Lafayette spent the next few weeks bouncing between philadelphia and washington. Nearby headquarters invited to review the continental army. Lafayette could not help but find them poorly clothed armed and disciplined. The french troops stationed at mets..

"Russo defy all a member of lafayette's party who later wrote a journal of his experiences observed. One thing is certain we have not been flattered with attentions. I do not know whether the future will be better for us but things are not at all as they were described to us in france but then again none of them were a young rich marquee. Speaking delightfully broken english with breakfast delight. Neither lafayette in his enchantment nor his companions. In their misanthrope he told untruths their observations and experiences reflected their own perceptions. Beliefs and projections was painfully clear. To all of them. The war was going badly restored. File said the people are not united in a common cause. And i do not think they will ever do anything. Spectacular as they trudged wearily toward philadelphia. They learned the british captured fort. Ticonderoga sentinel of the northern border with canada. If they did not hurry the war might be over before. They even had a chance to fight on july twenty. Seventh 1777 thi- it's party arrived in philadelphia thirty two days after leaving charleston forty days after landing in america ninety four after departing europe and more than one hundred and fifty days since lafayette bid adieu to his family and left paris for london. They said goodbye under the assumption. He would return within a matter of weeks now. Many months later the time had finally come to justify the consternation pain disappointment anger and doubt he caused in the meantime but lafayette's reception in philadelphia became an even greater farce than his reception in charleston. The frenchman arrived on a sunday. So the second continental congress was not in session. They first approached the residence of mr john. Hancock boston merchant ardent patriot and current president of the congress but rather than greeting the officers with open arms and praises to god for the arrival of saviors from france. Handcock inform them brusquely. Foreign officers were not his responsibility. Hancock told them to go. "Greeted us. Such dekalb attempted to explain. They were french officers. Come to serve in the continental army. The residents of charleston scoffed. The city was full of french. Mercenary spinning such tales claiming impeccable credentials and legendary feats of strength almost all of them liars and charlatans most of these adventurers were inferior officers who migrated up from colonial garrisons and martinique. Guadeloupe or san domingo. While it was true they carried letters of recommendation from their superiors though superiors happily sung the praises of the most disreputable drunken and unreliable men in their units eager as they were to be rid of them. The chefs french officers laughed when lafayette claimed he was a marquee. They heard that story a thousand times before. The jeers ceased the next morning. A sharp wind blew the two royal navy. Frigates out to sea leaving an opening through which la victoire enter charleston harbor. It turned out the bedraggled strangers told the truth one of lafayette's companion said. The arrival of the ship caused a complete reversal of opinion about us. We now receive the warmest. Welcome possible and the french officers who had been the first to jeer at us came in crowds to fawn upon the marquis de lafayette and tried to join his party. Lafayette's group spent the next eight days in charleston. Dining and drinking with the best of local society he toured the famous fortification that defended the city so admirably during a failed british siege the previous summer one of the rare military triumphs in an otherwise dismal year of retreat and defeat after this inspection lafayette grandly pledged enough cash to outfit one hundred men. A display of spontaneous generosity reported in newspapers as far away as boston who noted with interest the arrival of this rich and generous french marquee. Lafayette and cow. Believe they were going to sell both the cargo and la victoire to earn the money they needed to live in america but young lafayette signed his purchase agreement without reading or understanding. The fine print. He did not know the proceeds from the sale of la victoria. Cargo were earmarked to repay the debt. He contracted to buy the ship in the first place nor did he know la victoire was required to load herself with american cargo and returned to bordeaux lafayette was forced to take out a high interest loan to pay his expenses cosigned by takao since lafayette was still a minor. The use the money from this loan to outfit themselves with supplies clothes horses and carriages for the nearly seven hundred mile trip to philadelphia. Lafayette envisioned. A comfortable ride in a fine carriage through an american arcadia the soon prove to be a pipe dream a few days after depositing his passengers the captain of lava tour commenced the return voyage to france. But as the ship sailed out of charleston harbor she struck a sandbar and sank having performed her one historical service of delivering the marquee lafayette safely to america. La victoire was swallowed by sea and never seen again.

God's Glory in Every Nation (Deuteronomy 4:58)

"Deuteronomy chapter four versus five through eight. And as i read these verses. Listen to the why. Why has god given his people. His word his statutes and his rules derived chapter four verse. Five wise god given us his word. God says see. I have taught you statutes in rules as the lord. My god commanded me that you should do them in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. Keep them and do them for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the side of the peoples who when they hear all these statutes will say surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people for what great nation is there. That has a god so near to it as the lord. Our god is to us whenever we call upon him and why great nation is there that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that i set before you today did you hear it. I love these verses. God saying i am giving you my word my rules and my statutes and they are good. My word is good. It will make you wise and understanding and not just make you wise and understanding but the people's the nations around you as you enter into the promised land will see your wisdom and they'll see your understanding and they'll see in your obedience to my word. A reflection of who i am such that they will say what great nation is there. That has a god so near to it as the lord. The one true god is to them.

I'm not thrilled. She lied but oh well she knows what she knows. It'll help or it won't my master saran well. He might be a traitor. I don't know. I just. I want to finish what we started. Or lem keyed wanted me to save those kids and he'd want me to stop the warlock. So that's what i'll do. Gotha clapped lachlan on the shoulder and nodded once then waved a hand down the hill. They're gone the guards are on foot the frogger in the cards now. They'll move faster than before. It's almost morning. Lachlan said wax was surprised. But the squire was right. The pale sunlight was just starting to brighten the sky. The strange sounds of the wilder would at night. Were giving way to the equally. Strange sounds of the forest. During the day as the sun hit the brush. Flowers unfurled like tongues and dull plants started to shine with hidden iridescent colors harksen. He joined the group. They had red eyes from crying but smiles on their faces. Wax could see that they were still a little hesitant but the worst was behind them. We need to go navy. Said we have to catch up to that cart. We can't just fight them. Straight on will need a plan. Wax said looking around at the little group. They thought back to the creatures and their dark little is they can't see very well which is why they hunt by hearing. I remember them trying to listen for us. Lachlan thought about this so we'll need to be quiet but not as worried about them seeing us but the problem is attacking their horns. Didn't work and there are a lot more of them than us without knowing their weaknesses. We don't have great odds. Maybe fire gothic asked harks. I could get them all. No prob said harks. The trouble is there too close to the tad's passes my control is. Let's just say. I go from torch to towering inferno with not much in between wax could see that nancy had more to say. They looked at her with gentle smile. What is it. do you remember something else. No but i have an idea. Nez said and sang a in their callous cruel. What lachlan tried to cut in again. Let's just get going. No hark spoke loud and clear. No i'm not going with her. I follow her into the wilder would because she said she knew all about it. But it's not true. Harks turned to face snazzy. Her voice steady but tears welling in her eyes. We are off the edge.

"Though wilder would book two chapter four the group stopped at the top of the hill. Where nessie had. I seen the cart all ready. The larger group of car had joined the three who had attacked first and they all came clumping up the hill hide wax hissed all of them. Throw themselves into the undergrowth by the side of the little trail. Wax found themselves shoulder to shoulder with nessie. There wasn't much cover and the heavy hoof beats of the three ot car were growing closer. They watched nancy spread her hands in front of her. Her skin blushed green and then the bushes and ferns around them grew taller thicker fuller. It wasn't much but it would definitely make them harder to spot. Wax eased a wide leaf aside their hands. Sticky with a sweet-smelling sap oozing down the stem of it and saw a large group of they had clumped together near the top of the hill. Probably planning their next move. They were strange creatures like none that wax had ever seen before they were covered in a dark. Bluish that helps them nearly disappear into the shadows. They were taller than lachlan and harks. But not as tall as gothic when they walked with their legs curled under their faces. Were long like a horse's butt narrower with little dark is each of them had a pair of thin purplish horns growing from their foreheads and a sharp pair of fangs sprouting down from their muzzles. They all wore strange vests loops and rings of ragged metal drake from their shoulders and spilled down to their waists. They carried short spears like the one wax had picked up. The hassling tried to count but they're darfur blended into the shadows of the dim night. They guest there were fifteen or twenty of them. Total too many. They thought far far too many nazi was staring at them to the l. For a looked frantic and wax knew how she felt unsure and powerless and weak and scared. Wax had felt all of those things so many times scared that the enemy was approaching. Scared for yourself scared for others that needed you and you might not be able to help. It felt strange to see all that in an elf's face usually elves were the ones causing those feelings for wax him. A steady wind had picked up and was blowing up the hill carrying with it. The voices of the ocar guards. What was that magic like they had. I can't hear a thing over this wind. We have to get back to the boss. What if there's another attack waiting somewhere up the path the oh car spread out a little caulking. Their heads to listen wax held their breath and their hand found nazis. The elf was shaking and wax gave her a little squeeze..

The History and Development of Oral Torah

"The oral torah is a system. that's both dynamic yet stable if they namic critters new eat it. A new laws that are added to ensure that the tour is being maintained over the centuries but the interpretation of the written torah that part of oral torah to understand the meaning by the tauro that remains the same and were keeping the tower moses adding to it when this and hedren sees fit and the systems working now. It's important to stress that there is a prohibition. It's mentioned three times in the tora. There was a prohibition against adding or subtracting from the torah. You cannot make a new mid song yet. Apparently it seems like these. Rabbis are coming up and making all kinds of new mid snows on their own. If you cannot alter the torah on what grounds can. The rabbis may decrees and ordinances. How does rabbinic law coexist with the prohibition of and deducting subtracting from the tomorrow so. This question is addressed by the rim bond in the book of deuteronomy chapter four. That's the first three times where talks about not to add nor subtracts from the torah and he tells us two points says number one. This in itself is a tower. Spa tara tells us tells an address that you must add new edicts and ordinances when it is necessary however there is a condition that you may not institute a new mitzvah or new. Ordinance ordered a decree and presented and portrait as if it is part of what god gave moshe.

"Today. Special guest is author of the naked man flees michael's wag stra welcome to the show. Michael well thank you very much mike. It's a pleasure to be with. You appreciate you being on taking the time. So let's let's hear a little bit about that book. Naked man flees naked man flees while the the full book title. Is the man. Fli es timeless truths from obscure parts of the bible and seek to do in the book is to highlight forty obscure passages passages in the bible that christians and non christians alike ten dimiss With the bible and passages the tend not to have a lot of servants preached about them and to take a closer look at what these passages say in What possible meeting they might have to today. i've taught In addition to teaching public high school. I also teach a part time basis at stop five college. Which is our our local bible college here in steinbeck manitoba and i've found that You can never assume that christians know their bibles really well But a lot. Don't and i i know that on your show. One of the things that you say at the end is that you encourage people to pick up their bibles and read them and i agree. People should pick up the bible and actually read it because otherwise you're gonna miss a lot of important stuff that's in there actually. Yeah there's a lot of stuff in there. It's pretty interesting for sure. Chapter two for instance you talk about one of my favorite will if it's my favorite but it's definitely one of the stories that are in there The the moses and y'all we meeting them at the lodging place and he's about to kill him mad. That is such a strange story. It makes a stranger because it's just kind of thrown in there you know you're you're reading the story then all of a sudden this happens and it goes right back to where left off so it's yeah it's it's a strange one and it's one that a lot of people A lot of christians miss and one of the reasons that we miss it is that it doesn't make it into any of the popular movies. It's not in charlton. Heston the ten commandments does make it into prince of egypt and the exact. Yeah go figure. I'll read the la read. The exact passage is chapter four versus twenty four to twenty six at a lodging place on the way the lord met him. That's moses and sought to put him to death then sapporo took a flint and cut off her son's foreskin. Touched moses beat with it and said surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me. So he left him alone It was then that she said a bridegroom of blood because of the circumcision.

The Book of Genesis: Looking At The Book Of Beginnings

"Is the book of genesis. Well it's the book beginnings and so it's telling us what happened at the beginning of the story that is going to form the entire arc of the biblical story. But it's important to remember that it's not just telling us what happened in the beginning. It's telling us what god did in the beginning and so it keeps god as the central figure of all of the action and that can actually as we head into this Season that lovey. Who wanna keep top of mind because we start to talk about whereas in the first eleven chapters. We talked about four events Creation fall flood and babble now in the second half of the book which is actually much longer than the first half. We're gonna talk about four. People abraham isaac jacob and joseph. I'm so mad at you right now in this present moment because when you say stuff like that it makes me. Did you have that going into next. Because i have been preparing episode run sheets and not one single time. Have you said we'll call. You know the first eleven chapters are really four events and the next forty eight chapters or thirty eight chapters for people because that would have been a great line from somebody else. I mean come on. It's not like i sit around at night map in this stuff out. Yeah and i'm never up to snuff so it asked the story. Arc moves toward a description of people. We do want to bear in mind that the central figure is still going to be y'all way and how he's acting in the earliest recorded Stories of human history for us so But but again it's a book beginnings meaning that all of the and i think we said last season. The genesis is often referred to succeed. Pot of the bible is where all of those themes wanna see go. All the way through to revelation are being set up for us. So that's what we spent a long time last season and we'll do this season doing is looking for what are those. What are the threads in. How can we begin to see them with greater ease and regularity as we move into the rest of the scriptures us great so okay so genesis book of beginnings first eleven chapters four people. Next section. Twelve through fifty is for events but jt. Why would why would. Why would we spend all this time studying. Yeah i did just get it backwards. And i said it backwards. Genesis eleven four events genesis. Twelve fifty four people in residual. Okay so jt. Why would we spend a whole season studying genesis. I mean like why not. Just get to the good stuff in the new testament and just roll. Yeah so. I mean. One of the things that i i think. The lord's really teaching me right. Now that i'm trying to learn in my ability to be a bible reader and a bible teacher is to see how really the whole story of scripture is in those first three chapters. It's also in those first eleven chapters that we did last semester. It's then it's in the next fifty minutes in the pentateuch. The first five books of the bible that really when you look at genesis to revelation the whole story of scripture which we think forms hold disciples wanted list hopes in this podcast. Is that you just know. The story of the bible may be able to participate in be participants in the story. And you can't. You can't participate in the store. You don't know is that they would see they would see that. The story of the bible really finds its seed form all of its hyper links through the rest of scripture. Here in the book of genesis genesis. I don't want to say that there's any book that's not foundational. We love all sixty six. The bible not including third corinthians kyle but all six bucks at arrival We we need to know. We need to love. Because god has put treasures there for us. But i i i do wanna say this carefully. Genesis is one of those primary pillar books that you don't get it right. It's going to be hard to get the rest of the story right. Yeah i think what you're saying. Jt makes sense. And i think one of the interesting things is when you read. Genesis is with somebody that you're playing and maybe you've also read a gospel or you're helping them read through the gospels. At the same time you start to realize that a lot of the the themes or the The images of the pictures or the the concepts of the theology. That's in genesis. And a really pronounced way is deliberately being communicated in the gospels and that those connections sometimes are really on the

"Genesis chapter four six and seven. The lord said to cain. Why are you angry. And why has your face fallen if you do well. Will you not be accepted. And if you do not do well. Sin is crouching at the door its desire is contrary to you but you must rule over it on a picture of the reality of sin and temptation that we are all familiar with right. You and i will be tempted to send today all day long in different ways from different angles. Just remember like there is an adversary who daily wants to distract to deceive. You discourage you an adversary. Who daily wants to destroy you. I think we forget this. Think we forget that we are engaged in a cosmic struggle in our lives in a battle not against flesh and blood but against rulers and powers and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms to use language from a fijian's chapter six. This is why. Jesus taught us to pray. What was the last thing he said. In the lord's prayer and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. This should be constant on our lips. Justice constant is praying to god her father for the hallowing of his name for his protection to pray for his protection in the middle of temptation for his deliverance. From evil knowing that sin is always crouching at our door suggests this chapter four verse. Seven says its desire. Sins desire is contrary to you. But you must rule over it and this is where we realize. None of us is able to do that. We have all shown that we susceptible to send. We are week before sinn. We are prone to send we give in to send. We are guilty of sin. There is only one who has ruled over sin and his name is jesus. This is why whenever we think about the gospel. We don't just think about the cross and the resurrection the death and the resurrection of jesus we think about the life of jesus. What makes him able to die for. Centers is his perfect send. Less life said he is not like us in our sin and the beauty is for all who trust in. Jesus so follow this not only. Does god forgive us our sins but he puts the spirit of jesus inside of us who has power to rule over sindh who has power to say no to send about a conversation that heather and i were having with one of our kids and just talk about how we all struggle with sin and we need. Jesus we just pray together. Jesus help us to overcome. Send me because we can't do it on our own. That's the whole point in the lord's prayer. Jesus saying pray for help because you need it so for all these reasons we pray. Oh god lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil today. Got help us to realize to see to recognize that santa's crouching at our door that the adversary wants to pull away from you today wants to keep others away from you and wants to deceive discouraged distract. Destroy us and others so god. Help us to be vigilant. Help us to be obedient by your power by the power of your spirit in us. God we confess. We cannot rule over sin in our flesh. We need the power of your spirit to say no to send to live in righteousness to walk in obedience to you. So help us. We pray today. Help us to live by the spirit. Help us to walk in the spirit. Help us to obey you by the power of your spirit at work in us. Help us to say no to sin so yes to your commands to life in you in the process to experience the resurrection life of jesus in us the power of the holy spirit in us in a world. Where san is always crouching at our door to live in victory by your spirit's work in us may be so s. Today we pray by the power of jesus in his name. We pray amen.

Unity Around The Savior (Ephesians 4:1-6)

"Efficiency chapter four verses one through six i therefore a prisoner for the lord urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called with all humility and gentleness with patience bearing with one another in love eager to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one spirit just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call one lord one faith one baptism one god and father of all who is overall through all in all what a beautiful powerful passage of scripture as paul exhorts the church at emphasis with eagerness like bend over backward to maintain the unity you have in the church around jesus and his word and this is a word. I'm convinced we need to your. We desperately need to hear and he'd amidst a toxic divisive political climate specifically in the united states. Right now where. There's so much tension in so much division over political candidates and parties to see the effects of that division in the church and god is calling us to bend over backwards to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. Now this isn't just like some ambiguous unity. This is a a strong unity around a strong center. The strongest center of all the spirit of god. The son of god unity around jesus and his word so everyone in the church. It's gonna believe the bible and embrace the gospel and as a result we have shared common foundations when it comes to even political positions on all kinds of things that are clear in the bible and in accord with the gospel like all christians were united. Because we all love. God's word we believe what god's word says about marriage about sexuality about life about care for the poor and a myriad of other issues at the same time christians who believe the word could loves us or following jesus who are making disciples for jesus sometimes make political calculations based on those common foundations. We all share in scripture but those political calculations or decisions or positions sometimes very on things that are not clear and direct in god's word but this reminded that are usually in the church is not based on those kinds of political calculations and positions even decisions. We might make our unity is around. Jesus and what is clear and direct in his word and so when you have a disagreement with another follower of jesus about something that is not clear and direct. In god's word maybe even something you're passionate about. It's actually a sign of health in this fallen world to be able to disagree about those things dialogue about those things with honor and respect and love for one another but in a way that does not compromise unity together in jesus around jesus and his word like unity is not built around political ideology. Candidates or parties are unity is built around jesus and his word and reclaimed jesus and his word and we must pray for this kind of unity in a toxic political climate where we're continually tempted to accuse belittle and cancel and distrust and disparage and deride even divide from other followers of jesus like we are swimming in toxic political waters that are poisoning unity. Jesus desires for. His church died so that his church might experience. So we pray that you would help us with humility and gentleness and patience bearing with one another in love to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond. Peace as your church. During these days we know. Jesus is what you prayed for us in john chapter. Seventeen that we would be one as you and the father are one. God we pray for that kind of unity so the world may know that you sent me. You said jesus so the world may know that you were sent by the fathers a savior of the world got we want to proclaim your love and your grace and your mercy who you are. Jesus your design and your death on the cross for salvation of people. We will want to proclaim this clearly in the world so help us to proclaim this with a unified

"Jona chapter four versus ten eleven. And the lord said you pity the plant for which you did not labor nor did you make it grow which came into being a night and perished in a night and should not i pity niniveh that great city in which there are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who do not know their right hand from their left and also much cattle and thus ends the book of jona with the profit exceedingly displeased. An angry that god had brought salvation to niniveh. The god had saved benefit from the wrath. They deserved and the prophet. Jonah is upset goes out of the city. Sits down there under the shade and god appoints this plant to come up over jona to save him from discomfort in the sun and jonah was exceedingly. Glad about the plant. But then when god appointed a worm to attack the plants withered. Joan was so upset. And god's says in verses we just read you pity the plant a plant. Should i not pity. Niniveh people hundreds of thousands of people who have created a my image whom i love and i desire to save like. There's so much temptation at this point just to be very critical of jona and obviously jonah was in the wrong here but let's look at our own lives i. How often are you an. I consumed with passionate about things in this world that ultimately don't matter i we value plants and possessions and sports and entertainment and petty comforts in trivial concerns. And we can get so worked up over these things so passionate about these things even embroiled in these things that we miss individuals right around us people that we interact with on a daily basis. Who are on a road that leads to an eternal hell. Oh god we pray. Help us to realize to remember what matters most god reprieve. You'd forgive us for our focus on so many different comforts and cares and concerns in this world that we are not more passionate about seoul's being saved not just experience your life and your love in this world but in all of eternity god help us depite what you pity to have compassion like your compassion to love like you love god. We pray. You'd help us too long for what you long for you. Desire all people to know your grace your salvation. We think about seven plus billion people in the world all created in your image your likeness created to know you and created to enjoy you. Who turned from you all seven. Plus billion of us have turned from you and you love them so loved the world that you gave your one and only son that whoever among the seven billion believes in jesus will not perish paternal live gunnery. Praise you for your love for us. We praise you for somebody caring enough about us to share the gospel with us. We praise you for the eternal life we have in you. We praise you for your pity and your compassion and your love for us. So god reprinted helpless his show that for other people around us cowdery pray that ours eel to lead people to to faith in jesus to internal life and you would far outweigh our zeal for anything else. In this world. God that we would be emotional about passionate about not plans and possessions and sports and entertainment and petty comforts and trivial concerns but that we would be passionate about people and their souls for all of eternity. God we we pray that you would keep us from living like we see joan in this last chapter. God help us to be a clear reflection of your love for the people around us people who are desperately in need of your grace. We pray that you would help us to be more concerned about their salvation. "Chapter seven versus twelve and thirteen. An amazon said to amos. Ozier go flee away to the land of judah and eat bread dare and prophesy there but never again prophesied bethel for it is the kings sanctuary and it is a temple of the kingdom so basically what this is in the book of amos is a threat against amos an accusation against him in light of what he was prophesying. So here was amos saying things that the priest amazonia and the king in israel did not like and the whole picture before this. We're not able to bear your words what you're saying so go away from this land. I don't speak here. There's all kinds of different applications. We might consider as we see this picture of the prophet of god being rejected by the people of god. But i was reading. This verse is to versus just thought about the brothers and sisters. We have around the world right now. Who are speaking. The word of god and are experiencing major persecution for it for our brothers and sisters and north korea in somalia and yemen and saudi arabia in so many different places in the world in iran church is experiencing all kinds of persecution and threats and the bible calls us commands us to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters and to go to them to serve them and care for them to serve them as our own family. So i wanna lead us to pray specifically for the persecuted church allied of this picture of amos experiencing persecution in chapter seven verses twelve and thirteen. So oh god our father in heaven we pray right now on behalf of our brothers and sisters your sons and daughters who are in labor camps in north korea because they are followers of you are experiencing on imaginable suffering and pain. Because they're following you. God we pray for our brothers and sisters in malaya who who know an any moment friend or family member could kill them for their faith in you. Gotta we pray for brothers and sisters in iran really throughout the middle east in different places where they're facing various forms of persecution. Can i think about brothers and sisters in india that i know all over different parts of asia who mentioned specific names now but but people brothers sisters in our family who are right now experiencing threats against them who are being told to leave or to lose their land if they don't or to lose their job or to lose their life to be imprisoned or to be killed for trusting you for proclaiming your word. God we pray Acts chapter four. That you would give them boldness to proclaim your word. God please give them baldness to proclaim your word. Even in the midst of persecution would cause the gospel to spread through them. Salvation is Found in God Alone (Hosea 13:4)

"Hosea chapter thirteen verse. Four but i am the lord your god from the land of egypt you know no god but me and besides me. There is no savior when a clear picture of the supremacy of god of the fact that in the words of acts chapter. Four verse. twelve there is salvation No one else. There is no god but the one true god amidst all the idols of this world amidst all the false gods of the world things people ideas set up as god. There is no god but one the lord who is god no god but him and besides him there is no savior. Think about that important that is for each one of our lives to constantly remember. We do not look to anyone anything to save us but god this or that person whom we love no matter how wonderful they might be. Day cannot save us. They cannot fully satisfy us. They cannot meet our deepest needs as we look to leaders in rethink about leaders in the world. Even as we've prayed leading up to presidential election in the united states through this podcast. Clearly no leader can save us our salvation. Our hope our trust are not in leader of a country. The leader of a church the leader of an organization. Any man woman any person anything. There's there's no achievement. We can attain. There's no level we can get to know position. We can climb to know possession. We can own that if we just get there. Then we'll be satisfied then we'll be fulfilled. Its ally straight from the adversary that constantly surrounds us in this world. In god speaks crystal clear and hosea chapter. Thirteen verse for i and the larger god. There is no god but me and besides me. There is no savior so we pray. Oh god you alone are god. We confess that together right now. There are no other gods but you all the gods. The nations are idols. You alone are the lord and we say this from our hearts. Oh god may we not look to money as an idol two possessions as idols to sports sex success. Anything this world offers. None of it can fully satisfy us. None of these things can meet our deepest need. No person can meet our deepest. Needs you alone. Can you alone. God you alone. Are worthy of all of our worship. You alone are worthy of all of our praise. You alone are worthy of all of our. Trust your worthy of all of our allegiance. you're worthy of all of our hope. You alone are god and you alone our savior. Jesus you alone can save us from our sins we say based on your word there is salvation found in no one else. There is no other name under heaven whereby people can be saved. Jesus you alone can save people from sin. There's no other way to be saved from san. There's no other way to be satisfied and our souls but in you so with that reality god. Please give us urgency today to proclaim your salvation in jesus. God gives us urgency today to point people to jesus alone as the one who can save golden repay that we would not be silent with this reality. There is no savior. Besides jesus go to repay that. As the church we would make known to the ends of the earth. Cowdery pray for the southern us beck and afghanistan over four million of them for the few believers here there. We praise you for your salvation. Among southern who's back people in god. We pray for the spread of the gospel through them for the spread of jesus name as savior among the southern. Who's back of afghanistan gallery. Pray we it. Jesus name would be exalted in afghanistan as savior and lord and god. Oh god we believe. Jose chapter thirteen verse. Four you are the lord. Fraternal Twins Murder Case: Echos of Cain & Able

"David melfi was a troubled young man who took an active role in the killing of his attorney brother and leaving him to die in his own. Blood michael melfi is twin was found in the basement of the family home in a pool of blood. David was charged and convicted first degree murder in march nineteen ninety five and the connection with the slaying of his brother. Michael david melfi found himself in an unusual role. He was both relatives of the victim. And the convicted killer. David malthus attorney neal's aibo told the genesee county jury. The david malfa horrible terrible judgment but he denied his client. David melfi killed his brother. Michael yet there was no evidence that david tried to help his brother. Michael who was stabbed forty five times. The jury heard the claim. The david malki was guilty of no more than being an accessory after the fact to a murder because he was not directly involved in the killing mel fees trial attorney cast doubt on an alleged accomplice in the brutal murder. His name was patrick again. Kenny who accepted a plea bargain and testified against mouthy at the jury trial in flint michigan. Can he plead to a second degree murder charge. He testified under oath that he and david melfi plan to kill michael melfi and other family members if necessary so they could take their family van and fleet of florida or texas kimmy told flint please detectors that michael malki was lured into the basement where he kenny tried to slid michael malfeasance throat but was unable to win. Michael began to fight back kenny. Then call david melfi to the basement to help him during the struggle. Patrick kennedy testified that the brother david melfi provided a knife and how down his twin brother as ken. Kenny stabbed him repeatedly. Forty five times in all it's a useful exercise to look back at the book of genesis chapter four and the new international version of the bible now able kept flocks and cain worked in the soil. And of course at time cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the lord enable also brought an offering fat portions from some of the first born of his. The lord looked with favor unable and is offering but kane but on cain and his offerings in not look with favor so cain was very angry and his face was downcast. Then the lord said to cain. Why are you angry. Why is your face. John kass do what is right. You will not be accepted but if you do do not do. it's right. Sin is crouching at your door. It desires to have you but you must rule over it. Now cain said to his brother abel. Let's go out to the field while they were there in the field kane attacked his brother abel and killed them then the lord said to cain. Where's your brother able. I don't know he replied. And my brother's keeper the lord said what have you done. Listen your brother's blood. Cries out to me from the ground. It is downright spooky that the story of david and michael melfi is nearly identical to the first recorded murder found in the bible like cain. David melfi was jealous of his twin brother who had animosity towards his parents also like kane confronted by his father. Adam about the killing of his brother kane told his dad adam that his brother abel laid on the ground with many wounds kane told his father he was not sure that he inflicted any of wounds especially fatal ones simple terms. Cain denied the obvious and he refused to accept responsibility for the death of his brother abel. This was not just to his father but to god who confronted him and punished him with isolation unfathomable to me donder. Stand that high school. Kids could demonstrate such talapity this new age case of cain and abel still shocks me today

How To Pray Against Negative Thinking

How To Pray Against Negative Thinking

"First prayer is over negative thinking if you ever want a sneak peek into the direction that your day or week is headed. Just look at your thoughts. What you were thinking has power to direct the course of your entire day starting with positive. In truthful thoughts can lead to a peaceful and fulfilling day. Negative thoughts however not aligned. With god's truth can lead to a confusing and frustrating day. This is why god wants us. To keep our thoughts on good things philippians. Chapter four verse. Eight tells us whatever is true. Whatever is noble. Whatevers right whatever is pure whatever is lovely. Whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy. Think about such things. If changing our thoughts from negative to positive can change our day from good to bad they also have the power to direct. The course of our lives now. That is serious. Which is why. The bible also instructs us in second corinthians chapter ten verse five to take captive every thought to make it obedient to christ. Now this may seem easier said than done because it is but our thought life is something that we can pray about a constant prayer of mine. Is that my thoughts will will ally with god's truth that she will reveal an uproot any lies in my mind and replace them with good and truthful thoughts.

Demonstrate God's Word in Your Life (Ezekiel 4:4-8)

"Zekiye chapter four versus four through eight. Then, lie on your left side and place the punishment of the House of Israel upon it. For the number of the days that you lie on it, you shall bear their punishment. FRY signed to you a number of days three, hundred, ninety days. Equal. To the number of the years of their punishment. So long. Shall you bear the punishment of the House of Israel? And when you've completed. You should lie down a second time but on your right side and bear the punishment of the House of Judah. Forty days I assign you a day for each ear and you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem with your arm Baird and you shall prophesy against the city. And behold I will place cords upon you. So you cannot turn from one side to the other till you have completed the days of your siege. And so much we could talk about in these verses but the basic picture is God is calling Ezekiel as a prophet to do two things one to prophesy about the city. So to speak the words of God and to tell what God has said to him to the people and then second to demonstrate these words with his life. He's specifically talking about the punishment of the House of Israel the punishment of the House of Judah, basically God's judgment on Israel and Judah and how he would take action specifically lying on his left side for three hundred ninety days. On his right side for forty days representing the number of years associated with judgement punishment toward the House of Israel and the House of Judah we don't know specifics of how this would play out like for all those three hundred ninety days on the left side and forty days on the right side. But basically. Lying there for long periods of time on those days, unable to turn from one side to the other as a demonstration is an illustration is a picture of the words he's speaking. Now, how does that lead us to pray? Why want wants to think about our lives, your life, my life today this week. So again, we're seeing this over and over again, there unique things about Ezekiel Old Testament prophets but there are also parallels to our lives as women who have received the word of God and have the spirit of God and us have been commissioned to proclaim the word of God, not just with our words. But with our actions with lives that are fluctuation of the words, we proclaim the words we believe the words God has spoken. And Specifically. I was reading this and as I. WanNa lead us to pray I was thinking about people who are going through difficult times difficult circumstances. Could it be than even or difficult circumstances situations we walk through? That there are things we are portraying about who got is in the midst of hard times that are intended by God to be a reflection of the truth we believe. Of the word that we hold fast to just like we see in Paul throughout the New Testament saying I, fill up what is lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions. He's not saying that he experiences suffering in the exact same way as Jesus did, but he is saying that he shares in the sufferings of Christ he shows the supremacy. Of Christ, he shows the joy of Christ that even when times are hard and difficult and he is holding fast joy and peace and courage and confidence in the middle of that he is displaying Christ he is reflecting the word of Christ in his life. So God, I pray the you would help us all today to embody you word. To reflect your word, not just with our mouths Oh God. Yes. As we prayed recent days help us to reflect your word with our mouths helps to speak your word to give witness to your word to warn people of coming judgment to share the good news of Your Grace and gallery. Pray that amidst whatever is going on in our lives. Right now, you would help us to reflect your word in our lives. Guttering, we pray that you would help us to reflect your joy even in the middle of suffering. We pray the you'd help us to reflect your strength and our weakness. Gharib, we pray that you help us to reflect your peace amidst so much unrest. Around us. Maybe specifically in our circumstances or just unrest in the world gunnery prayed help us to reflect your piece. Got Re pray that our lives would be demonstration today and this week of the truth we believe and we hold fast to God 'cause you're a word to be clear in our mouths and clear in our lives we pray. In Jesus name. Amen.

"We're looking beyond real estate to understand. The lifestyle drivers latest trends and ways in which other luxury brands have solved problems when it comes to incentivizing someone to purchase discretionary early especially when serving high net worth clientele. Some of our best ideas have come from high end car companies jewelry brands designers and others. You never know where the next best idea will come from looking to the future. This has been a fantastic opportunity for our industry to take advantage of accelerating trends move business forward embrace new technologies and enable more efficient process. Once we leave the crisis behind i believe buyers and sellers will still expect the same level of marketing. Production and technology that has arisen with a pandemic buyers especially will no longer accept a mediocre website ordinary search experience or limited information historically. We have held onto old ways of doing things simply because they worked. But this momentous time has proven that embracing new ways of doing things can make us better emerging from this. I think we will become leaner more. Agile more efficient and all around a better stronger industry. Stephanie anton sons it up well with her statement. "Anton adaptable brokers. Make an agile market just as any brokerage that has been around at least twelve years. We've been through times of uncertainty. Before and this time we were more ready to adapt. Seasoned companies were prepared to act swiftly to reduce expenses and maximize cash flow to ensure they could get through this pause in the market having a flexible mindset. A bit of cash in the bank and a creative approach to solving problems is a big part of it. You can have all the plans in the world but resistance to change can be the biggest obstacle at times like these thankfully though throughout covid nineteen. We've seen the resilience and flexibility of the real estate industry across the board consumers have been adaptable and compliant as the industry scramble to ensure we were able to continue to serve them safely. They drove in separate. Cars wore masks and patiently waited if there was a one in one out policy. We've also seen people in the market become even more serious about the process and make decisions more efficiently. They're physically viewing fewer homes when appropriate embracing new technology and appreciating the high quality photography tours and tech that our industry has so beautifully inc. Smart and informed sellers are beginning to recognize that we can successfully show homes safely and even transact completely virtually in many many places the understand that inventory is very low right now and as a result it really is an incredible opportunity to list the assessing trends to stay ahead of consumer expectations as we keep a finger on the pulse of trends brokers and agents or seeing around the world we know something is working when the demand bubbles up from the end user when clients are asking for three detour for example clearly. That trend.

"Be headed looking to the future. It's all about solving customer. Needs understand who your customer is what they want and provide the best quality and value service. If you do that everything else will fall into place. Miked up ready brings calm. And visibility to chaos of data with a call for leaders to look towards new listing volumes and pending sales as key indicators for predicting intent and demand even when the future seems unclear the real answer is always in solving your customers problem brokers must listen to their agents and agents must listen to their buyers and sellers understanding their audience and striving to provide the best experience for them will bring success no matter what the future holds. Customers can be fickle though and some behavior trends are resolute while others change daily. We all are only too aware that no to buyers and sellers of the same because no.

"Of data every second and frequently analyzed market trends of competitors pretty has made a name for himself as a goo- of analyzing market data on earth truths that many of us may not have known when faced with an unprecedented and unpredictable challenge the covid nineteen pandemic. How can statisticians even make predictions for the future trying to make predictions in an unpredictable market. A lesson by mike del p-pretty. There's very little anyone can predict right now. And the difference between prediction and speculation. Is blurry the best anyone can do in an unprecedented time is have situational awareness and a solid understanding of what's going on in the moment watching the data often. I will let the data guide my analysis as i look for trends things that are moving unusually faster than normal in pre pandemic times. These were disruptive numerals like compass and open door with a quickly growing market share in the midst of the covid nineteen pandemic. I'm looking for interesting. Signals in data around the market slowdown in recovery both in the us and international markets to guide any sort of analysis. The faster you can absorb and process real time data the more informed decisions you can make so look at as much real time market data as possible from many different angles as possible and pay attention to trends and other markets. Not just your own priority metrics while we can't make any true predictions as a brokerage leader. Some of the most telling metrics to pay attention to our listing volumes and pending sales. Those are the best proxies for high intent buyer and seller demand. Look at the data from all angles. Absolute numbers percentage increase decrease and compared to last year's figures to get a scope of where we are and try to understand where we might.

"Make the best predictions they can but it's up to each business owner to make the best decisions for themselves as i mentioned at the beginning. Don't take anyone forecast as gospel especially during a global pandemic as you evaluate and comprehend market predictions and trends stay true to your value proposition mission and vision as you react and adapt to market fluctuations to make the best decisions for your business to survive and thrive the clear values. You reviewed in chapter two came back again as we look at. These external forces gardner reminds us that no matter the forecasts. You're interpreting make decisions that stay true to your values. Your mission and your vision reacting to economic change is but one half of a solid plan to prevail. Strong brands must also evaluate their investments and structure to adapt to any market change. "Committed to what we do. Best serving our clients our communities and the country as a whole because as we all know this too pass within the walls physical or figurative of your brokerage there are controllable factors your operations these systems help a brand scale and run as a well oiled machine and like machines require maintenance and inspection to proactively defend against disruption. What about outside forces that affect your company systems things that aren't directly within your control. Matthew gardiner chief economist at windermere real estate and frequently quoted by cnn. Money spends much of his day looking at these external forces and predicting their impact. While the covid nineteen pandemic seemed unpredictable. There are in fact key indicators that business leaders can watch and understand in order to safeguard their business around any impending economic deficit gardner guides not only through what to look for but how to intelligently react to forecasts reacting to economic forecasts a lesson by matthew gardner while a global pandemic may most aptly be described as unpredictable. There are ways that market analyses and predictions can help us understand the current trends where we are headed and the best ways to safeguard our business around impending deficits much of it has to do with not just the information we receive but how we as leaders to the economic forecasts that can make a lasting impact on our organization. Stay open minded. There is a lot to consider when it comes to economic trends and predictions and a lot of good comes from having a strong grasp on market activity. My advice is to have an open mind to forecasts. but don't consider them to be gospel. Lean on a variety of experts for guidance by following. Several groups are companies that track economic trends. That are related to your business. They likely will not all be right time. But if you combine the views of several forecasters you're likely to get a pretty good feel as to what the future might hold key market indicators. Some of the key indicators you can pay attention to that gives you more insight into how different markets are performing. And what you can expect our housing affordability the us home finance market and your local regional economic climate when looking at the health of the market. It's important to look at affordability today. There are too many markets across the us where home ownership is beyond the reach of many households. As prices rise affordability issues push market demand down therefore the number of transactions drop potentially limiting revenue so paying attention to the affordability both in your local markets as well as nationally can be telling when looking at economic forecasts as a leader. It's also important to understand the us home finance market too often. People see the mortgage market as some strange vehicle that does nothing more than spew out money when needed at interest rates that appear to defy logic but mortgage availability rates are remarkably important to any housing market and should be watched judiciously. Finally brokerages should also have a strong grasp on the local and regional economic climate. Land use codes infrastructure demographics and migration patterns to get a full grasp of the state of their local market and the market as a whole.

"Investment decisions. A lesson by steve murray during a crisis brokerage leaders have to move swiftly to cut costs rather than taking a longer view of what to do with their infrastructure as they would under normal circumstances they move quickly to save quickly. This move is unfortunately an understandable businessess ity even to stay afloat however mistakes come when once past the immediate danger brokerage leaders. Don't take the time to ask if we weren't doing things the way we had been. How would we be managing after the initial quick cuts. It's vital to take a step back and look at the forest. Not just the trees. How can we better approach. Expenses versus investments both now during the covid nineteen crisis and any future times of uncertainty. That come our way examining expenses. As a result of the covid nineteen impact there are likely to main areas of operation. That brokerages are examining when it comes to their costs. The first is office space. It is the second largest corporate expense to a brokerage after employees wages. Brokerages will examine whether an office space is still necessary with the move to more virtual business practices. Many brokerages across the country had already moved to a hybrid model before the coronavirus pandemic and we can expect to see more of that as we now have a gate through an out of this crisis. A challenge for many brokerages has always been seeing the whole picture in a meaningful way to make better decisions. Capital allocation on time because of this brokerage leaders will also address the lack of seamless transition processing platforms from start to finish which ties to their back. End systems for financial analysis and forecasting having these systems in place could help identify weaknesses in their recruiting retention and productivity measurements measuring as a rule of thumb the key measurements to pay attention to especially when looking at roi our gross margin per agent ebitda per agent and marginal cost per agent and per transaction. Those are the key drivers of our y in any.

"But in most fields are generation has witnessed complete liberation of our thinking show any longshoremen Sunday supplement describing a proposal Zyl to explore the Moon by means of a rocket and he will say I bet they do it maybe not so long either is not our age characterized by the ease as with which we discard old ideas for new by the complete readiness with which we throw away the theory or gadget which does not work for something new. which does we had to ask ourselves why we shouldn't apply to our human problems this same readiness to change the point of view? We were having trouble with personal relationships. We couldn't control our emotional natures. We were prey to misery and depression. We couldn't make a living and we had a feeling of uselessness. We were full of fear. We were unhappy. We couldn't seem to be a real help to other people was not a basic solution of these bedevil moments more important than whether we should see news reels of lunar flight. Of course it was when we saw others solve their problems by simple reliance upon the spirit of this universe we had to stop doubting the power of God. Our ideas did not work but but the God idea did the Wright brothers almost childish faith that they could build machine which would fly was the mainspring of their accomplishment without that nothing could have happened. We agnostics and atheists were sticking to the idea that self sufficiency would solve our problems when others showed us that God's sufficiency worked with them. We began to feel like those who had insisted the rights would never fly. Logic is great stuff we liked acted. We still like it. It is not by chance. We were given the power to reason to examine the evidence of our senses and to draw conclusions. That is one of Man's magnificent attributes. We Agnostic Lee inclined would not feel satisfied with the proposal which does not lend itself to reasonable approach and interpretation hence we are at pains to tell why we think are present. Faith is reasonable why we think it more sane and logical to believe then not to believe why we say our former thinking was soft and mushy when we throw up our hands endowed and said we don't know when we became alcoholics crushed by a self imposed crisis we could not postpone or evade. We had to fearlessly face the proposition that either got his everything or else he is nothing God either is or he isn't. What was our choice to be arrived at this point we were? You're squarely confronted with the question of faith. We couldn't duck the issue. Some of US had already walked far over the bridge of reason toward the desired. Tired shore of faith the outlines and the promise of the new land had brought luster too tired eyes and fresh courage to flagging spirits. Friendly Hands had stretched out in welcome. We were grateful that reason had brought us so far but somehow we couldn't quite step ashore. Perhaps we had been leaning too heavily on reason that last mile and we did not like to lose our support that was natural but let us think a little more closely really without knowing it had we not been brought to where we stood by a certain kind of faith for did we not believe in our own reasoning. Did we not have confidence in our ability to think what was that but sort of faith. Yes we had been faithful abjectly faithful all to the god of reason so in one way or another we discovered that faith had been involved all the time we found to do that we had been worshippers. What a state of mental gooseflesh that used to bring on had we not variously worshiped people sentiment things money money and ourselves and then with a better motive had we not worship fully be held the sunset the sea or a flower who of us had had not loved something or somebody? How much did these feelings? These loves these worships have to do with pure reason little or nothing we we saw last. We're not these things. The tissue out of which our lives were constructed did not these feelings after all determine the course of our our existence it was impossible to say we had no capacity for faith or love or worship in one form or another we had been living by faith and and little else imagine life without faith were nothing left but pure reason it wouldn't be life but we believed in life. Of course we we did. We could not prove life in the sense that you can prove a straight line is the shortest distance between two points yet. There was. Could we still say the whole thing was nothing but a massive electrons created out of nothing. Meaning nothing whirling onto a destiny of nothingness. Of of course we couldn't the electrons themselves seem more intelligent than that at least so the chemists said hence we saw. That reason isn't isn't everything. Neither is reason as most of us use it entirely dependable. Though at emanate from our best minds what about people who proved that man could never fly yet. We had been seeing another kind of flight a spiritual liberation from this world people who rose above their their problems. They said God made these things possible and we only smiled. We had seen spiritual release but like to tell ourselves it. It wasn't true. Actually we were fooling ourselves for deep down. In every man woman and child is the fundamental idea of God it may be obscured by calamity by pomp by worship of other things but in some form or other it is there for faith in power greater than ourselves and miraculous demonstrations of that power in human lives are facts as old as man himself. We finally saw that faith in some. Some kind of God was a part of our makeup just as much as the feeling we have for a friend. Sometimes we had to search fearlessly but he was there he was as much a fact as we were. We found the great reality deep down within us in the last analysis analysis. It is only there that he may be found. It was so with us. We can only clear the ground bit if our testimony helps sweep away way. Prejudice enables you to think honestly encourages you to search diligently within yourself then if you wish you can join us on the broad rod highway with this attitude you cannot fail. The consciousness of your belief is sure to come to you. In this book you will read read the experience of a man who thought he was an atheist. His story is so interesting that some of it should be told now. His change of heart was dramatic. Matic convincing and moving our friend was a minister's son. He attended church school where he became rebellious at what he thought an overdose of religious education for years thereafter. He was dogged by trouble and frustration. Business Failure Insanity. Fatal illness suicide these calamities in his immediate family embittered and depressed him postwar disillusionment even more serious alcoholism. Awesome impending mental and physical collapse brought him to the point of self destruction one night when confined in the hospital. He was approached by an alcoholic who had known spiritual experience. Our friends gorge rose as he bitterly cried out. If there is a god he certainly hasn't done anything for me but later alone in his room. He asked himself this question. Is it possible that all the religious religious people I have known are wrong while pondering the answer he felt as though he lived in hell then like a thunderbolt. A great thought came a crowded out all else. Who are you to say? There is no god. This man recounts that He. He tumbled out of bed to his knees. In a few seconds he was overwhelmed by a conviction of the presence of God it poured over and through him with the certainty and majesty of a great tied at flood the barriers he had built through the years where swept away. He stood in the presence of infinite power. We're in love. He had stepped from Bridge to shore for the first time. He lived in conscious companionship with his creator. Thus us was our friends cornerstone fixed in place. No later vicissitude has shaken it. His alcoholic problem was taken away that very night. Three years ago it disappeared save for a few brief moments of temptation. The thought of drink has never returned and at such times great revulsion has risen up in him seemingly. He could not drink even if he would God had restored his sanity. What is this? But what a miracle of healing yet. It's elements are simple. Circumstances made him willing to believe he humbly offered himself to his maker then he knew even so has God restored us all to our right minds to this man. The revelation was sudden. Some of US US grow into it more slowly but he has come to all who have honestly sought him when we drew near to him. He disclosed himself.

US Zyl Wright abjectly Lee church school
