"When it comes to the rumor game, that's all it is with people. And. I felt really bad for cam Smith. I mean, there's a part of me, there's a part of me that understands why someone wanted to ask the question, like, about the live tour for cam Smith, but there's another part of me as a golf fan that is like, come on, man. Can we just, why is it every time a dude wins and going to be like, are you leaving? Right. You know what I mean? You know. And that's kind of like, it just puts a bad, it puts a bad feeling in everybody's gut when you do it, right? Let's say, let's say he said yes. What did we really gain anything? From learning it then as opposed to, let's say he says after the season is over and he gets to November and is like, hey, you know what? I think I'm gonna give this live a shot. It's still gonna be news. It's still gonna matter, but I think in a moment when a guy went to golf to him and, you know, it's okay to let him have that moment, you know? Even for a day or two, 'cause you know you're gonna ask him and he knows he's gonna get asked, but it's like, I tell you what it has done, it has made pretty much everyone almost everyone. This time of year, be like, yeah, I don't wanna do any interviews whatsoever. Right? Like, why would anybody want to do interviews because you already have, if you're on the outside of the top one in one 25 looking in, like, this is it, this is the week that you got. You got to do something this week. Do you want to be trying to grind and get your work done? And oh yeah, I have some knucklehead come up there and be like, oh yeah, well, if you don't make it this week, are you going to join live? Do you need that thought in your head? Before you going out to play, to try and keep your tour card and get to the playoffs or if you're one of the guys in the bottom tier, let's say one 20 to 50, you know, doing, hey man, if you don't make a big run in the playoffs, so you're going to make a little decision before if you're in top 50, you're like, hey, how far into the playoffs do you have to get or how much money you have to make before you might consider live? This is the time to hear when, if you're a player, get sucked, it would suck. Because all you got is knuckleheads now. Like asking about, hey, are you gonna leave? Are you gonna leave? Like, hey, how about I'm gonna practice? I will try and win the street. How about that? Can I do that?

Can 54 Holes Constitute a Golf Tour?

"Know another thing people don't know when they were talking about, oh, it's only 54 hoes. Like, that's not a real, it's not a real tour. It's not a real golf. So thanks, number one. There are 11 tours. Listed on the official world golf rankings page. 11 tours that get world golf ranking points. That only played 54 holes. Jeez. There you go. There's your answer. Let that sink in for a second. Before people were like, yeah, this is where the ring is no recognize. Bullcrap, there's 11 tours they recognize to get points. So there's that. And number two, and most importantly, and you can speak to this. The last time I checked, if the PGA Tour had a day get washed out completely and they go to 54 holes, guess what? Is that when official? Still get the points, baby. You still get the money? You don't get the points, and you still get everything that goes along with a PGA Tour win. Yep. That's it. So you seen on your tour 54 hoses, okay? But on another tour, it's not? Okay. Okay.

"So the interesting thing about Sergio was when I asked him about what went into joining Liv. And, you know, it's funny, like everybody who asked why was these guys would just say it's all about the money. I would say it's all about the money. Well, Sergio said, yes, about the money. Like, this is generational money where my kids and my grandkids won't have to worry about money. Like it's generational. So generations of garcias will be good to go. And like as a parent, you go, okay, that's hard to walk away from. And he goes, what? It's not, it's not as easy a decision as people think. People think like they just do a check down. You was like, hell yeah, where do I sign? But it's not, it wasn't even close to that. Because as a golfer, you think about and you worry about those repercussions because at the time, and he was one of the first guys that signed up. But at the time, he was like, okay, if I sign with these guys, I spent 23 years 24 seasons on the PGA Tour and the DP world tour to European tour. I gave them more than half of my life. And like, what if I never get to play on either of them again? Like that matters. And now the writer. And now what if the door, like, you know, 'cause when threats first started coming out, it was like the players are gonna get sued the tour is gonna ban them for life, like all of these things. And people think that, you know, they just had a check going in front of them with a contract and they were like, I'm out bounce. Why can't you just like and it wasn't, it wasn't even close to being that easy, you know? And so I think it's a lot easier for people on the outside to just look at it that way because it's easier to digest, especially if you wanna hate on the live tour. But after talking to Sergio for a while about it, I was like, you know what? This dude really, there was a long thought process that went into the decision that he finally came to and joined in the lid.

"Golfers Wanna Golf" Says Michael Collins

"The majors are insane to not want to have the best players playing it. I mean, maybe the world ranking thing will fizzle out if Liv doesn't get it, but can you imagine the mask? And I don't know what's going on all these people are rumored to go in Hideki matsuyama is supposedly going in team tricks on or whatever. Can you imagine them telling Hideki, you know, the basically the face of Asian golf that he can't play in the masters. I mean, give me a freaking break. What a disaster for them. If Becky went over, that would be 7 masters champions. Like, are you really gonna have a champion dinner at 7 dudes missing? Really? Like, who's gonna want to be in a sad dinner? It's like a sad birthday party. It's not even a sad dinner. It's one of those things where, like, you just be standing there being like, it's just not feel okay. And anything. But here's the thing about the masters. The masters is the only invitation of all the majors. Right? So you're going to tell these dudes like, is the U.S. open going to tell whoever they're going to tell Brooks and Dustin, yeah, you form a champions, but you can't, we're not even going to let you try and qualify. What? Then it's right. It's the U.S. closed. And now, now for all of those people that are like, this is going to be bad for the game. Yeah, but who made it that way? It ain't the players. It ain't the players. The players want to play. Every player. Golfers won a golf, man, that's it. That's what they want to do.

"So now, as we're just a walk, it's about 300 yard walk down the path to from 11 green to 12 tee box. And so as we're walking off the 11 team, Brando and Steve are kind of in front of me and Brando's caddy. And Brando turns the Steve and says loud enough for me to hear, I know you're caddy's new, but if he's going to have a problem on where to stand, we're going to have a problem. Like I left footprints in a bit of like leaving footprints in a parking lot. That's been there for 40 years. And I was wearing basketball sneakers. As a comedian who's not a full-time caddy, like I go straight in the street mode. I feel like I'm back where I grew up. And I yelled right forward to Brandon. If you got something to say, you can turn around and say it to my face, we can solve this right now, bro and of course there's brandos candy at night. No man, no shut up shut up. He's not mad at you. He's talking about me. And he was like, maybe three put, man, shut up. It ain't about you. And I was like, I don't care. If you want to say something to my. And of course, using brand turns around because you know, if you really, if you really mount an office somebody, you got something you want in problems. Yo, we can solve it, right? There ain't no big thing. But he don't even turn around. So I'm like, oh, I see how this guy is. So now that whole day, I see him win, and he's wearing his caddy out. All two days. Wearing his caddy out. So now fast forward a bunch of years. He ain't playing no more. He's doing the golf channel stuff. Blah blah blah whatever. So now, first we get into this discussion of caddies, like he's on there talking talking to caddies at about what caddies need to do and how caddies should be with their players. So I chirp in on it and be like, yo. Why don't we go find some of your old caddies and talk to them? Say about caddies, why don't we get some of your caddies? Expertise and opinion. It's only fair. It's only fair. Yeah. You would think that if you know so much about caddies, you might want to call one of your boys up, right? And that because I know how much of an ass he wants to his caddies and how much of a caddy hater that he was in so I know caddies didn't like you and he didn't like caddies. He thought it was just him. He was one man team and so he blocks me on Twitter. So then the paparazzi thing happens I'm serious, right? And now I'm wearing him out 'cause he blocked me on Twitter and I'm like, how you gonna be scared of little old me bro? Like you're such a great you're such a great historian and debate is and I'm telling you straight up like this dude is a good historian. He knows his stuff. Like he's one of the most well read guys out there. Has he gone through experience of stuff like product comes now? He read that in the book too because he ain't feeling none of them rooms. So now the pepperoni thing happened and he starts chirping off on golf channel about pat Perez. And like me and pat got a show on SiriusXM. So I was like, bro, again, here you go running your mouth. Like if you got something to say, we got a show. Why don't you get off your ass and pick up the phone and if you want to ask some questions and you got something you got answers that you need, apologize. We right here. And I don't me and pat both voted out on Twitter and Instagram. And of course then, you know, he's not going to let a PGA Tour pro and me calling out like that, so he's like, oh man, I would love to call in to the show sometimes, but I can't tonight 'cause I'm busy. And we're like, okay, and now what happens? During our show, which was Tuesday night from 8 to ten. During our show, his wife Bailey takes a picture of him, sitting at home with a glass of wine watching TV. And puts it out. Not knowing what he had already said about he couldn't come on the show, 'cause he was busy. And of course, me and pat me and pat's followers caught that and just now it's like, oh, see, it's like that. So now I'm wearing not even harder. So now I'm at a golf event in Ocala and he's there. And I'm like, hey man, and I've got him on camera. Why are you blocking me? No, I didn't block what? No, you're not. Why are you blocking me? Why would you be scared of little old me, man? And just because and I've told I have told that story of tootsie and if you want to throw down, let's throw down that happened to see Antonio. I told that story in front of him. Adding at a rich learner's event at bay hill. On the corner was there too. And everybody was laughing except for Brandon. But does he know what's up? So I mean, after the paparazzi and after me catching him in the parking lot and being on video bro, why you got me blind? He's like, oh man, I'm sorry. I want block you. I don't block you. Well, he's never unblocked. He's always kept me blocked. Because he's scared of me. So now, when this whole live thing came out, and he starts talking all of his snack, I was like, I've had enough because he was one of the people that came out. When the rumors started circulating about Charles schwartzel, not getting paid by Liv that the money, the upfront money that he went towards, like he didn't get the 4.75 million that that went against blah blah blah this net. And it was like, bro, you're supposed to be a journalist, right? Did you pick up the phone and call any player? Like from the live tour, hey man, did you get paid? Nah, he didn't do that. He just put it straight out on social media, you know, these dudes ain't even getting paid. The blah blah blah. So he lied. He just lied. And instead of doing due diligence, like you're supposed to as a journalist, he came out a lot about it and I called him out. And then, because I was not in the good mood anyway, it was time for me to start crafting some of his ass receipts. So that's what I did. I called him a liar, and I started cashing in his receipts. Because I've been telling people this whole time, like stopped on rocks in a glass house, right? 'cause that's what a lot of this is. Like, I understand if you don't like Liv, cool. Just so you don't like this. That's like, that's like people who don't like Tiger 'cause he's black, but they gotta make every other excuse of be like, you know, I don't appreciate the way he is on, okay, man, but whatever. You know what I mean? But I would have a lot more respect in somebody who was honest about stuff than like Brandon just lying and throwing rocks in a glass house. Like, look, I understand, I understand it to a job, put you in a position where like, look, I work for a company that has a relationship with the PGA Tour as well. And it's a good relationship with the BGA tour. I love Jay monahan. He's somebody who I consider a friend. We've done a lot of fun stuff together, and you know, God willing, not gonna work, we

Had a perfect game but as a golfer you think that you should every shot should be a great shot like why. Why didn't that go in. And i'll how did i miss the fairway. They're like all of these things and the ball doesn't move just right there and just you and i think that whole mentality of why. Why didn't do what i thought it was going to do. Or oh my gosh. You know it didn't go in like they. It just feels like and you're out there by yourself the cameras on you you can hide when you hit a bad shot. You can't hide. There's a lot of people watch it and then you're going. Oh my god. Did you justin. Thomas in the scottish open almost missed the ball on the fairway almost missed it and i watched and i went. That look like almost missed it. And then they. They showed it and they go. He almost missed that. I go justin. Thomas won the top ten players in the world. I went wow okay. I don't feel so bad about where play. Oh have you ever had like a beer to and played better. 'cause you're relaxed. No i mean they call it a swing lube where. You'll have a beer but i don't. I don't like the feeling. I'm not a day drinker. Cavuto beer out there even a cigar. I don't i don't like it it just just after a while. You're like yes mclovin on that topic. I heard this incredible podcast. About how have you ever heard the theory that a low level of alcohol relaxes you and helps you be creative athletic. So i guess steve bomber invent something called the bomber peak where he had an iv of alcohol when he was coating going into his arms. So this is the clippers owner. Yes so he's like a like a one beer level for a sustained period of time to perform. Do you know how you're good at pool with one beer. But you're so this called. The bowling is the other one. Yeah it's called the bomber peak where you are relaxed at a certain level which kind of makes sense you know the way we acted on sportscenter people assume that maybe we had something to drink which i never did. Even if i was doing sunday night. Sports center. And i had to go to a picnic during the day. Never have anything to drink. But i can understand where and golfers will drink. Professional golfers will drink. There've been golfers. I know to golfers that. I know that had something in their bag. And you would disguise it but they would have something to calm them. Down steve bomber having an alcohol. Iv answers so many questions for me now. Now at all makes perfect sense. Yeah satan of course does is steve balmer impersonation. Just the oddest dance move. Who wouldn't move like that. They were getting alcohol fed intravenously. Yeah gotta drip yep polling. I went snowboarding. Umbro's and i'm not that good of a snowboarder when i'm sober..

Because that's a good pick right now. Well appreciate that. i think i'm like two for one. Hundred ninety. seven. Fifteen on wednesday nights started picking players but the appreciate that all arrive this way but this is a guy who's making his debut in an open championship and i know he played in the scottish open. I just don't know how much prep time you need. When you play courses like this brandel i mean. That's pretty quick turnaround to all of a sudden. Be playing well on a golf course like this used to be that you needed a lot of prep time but not anymore i mean they have things called google earth than they can sort of plot out there Their mrs left and riot around a golf course. He doesn't ask. Mrs really big mrs ads ashore. And then you add to the fact that The golf courses a little softer normally blades. So i think that mitigates some of the experience you might need to have around there. What is it like though that the shots you have to you have to have imagination. I would think but yeah right. "Man. Whatever i hear wreck wilt but will only won two titles his whole career right. Yeah yeah and he won those later in his career. Well that's pretty select company but but a week from today. It's either chris. paul. Enjoy the celebration or chris. Paul can't get it done and it's not fair to him but but this is. This is what comes with that. Hey he's one of the great point guards of all time but it might not be. And it's not all on chris paul but i think like devon booker. This is coming out party for him. Coming off forty. Two points on that cusp as well. You know he's not an mvp candidate it as far as regular season but no janas. I think we'll be applauded. And unless he somehow goes you know over ten from the line and the as a sub par performance scoring altogether. Then maybe but it feels like janas has become almost untouchable in this in this series. Because of what he's done so still got three games early. The potential for three more games. You're talking about saturday. nba finals. You're right it just started about five years ago. with cavs warriors. They stretch out the files to give a little more rest to players but historically finals games have been on tuesdays thursdays sundays. Yeah that's what of about two thousand sixteen or keeping an eye on the open championship and of course interesting comments by bryce into shambo yesterday. And he had this to say about his driver. If i ended up down the middle of the fairway that's great but again with the driver right now. The drivers sucks. It's not a good face. I mean we still trying to figure out how to make it. Good on the misfits and i'm living on the razor's edge. I've told people for a long time and it's quite finicky for me because it's a golf course. That's pretty short. And so when i hit drive up there and it doesn't assume the fairway throwing the first cut or whatever or hey it's tough for me to get it out onto the green and control that But what is in the middle fairway. Like i had it on eighteen. I was able to a nice shot in there to eleven feet and almost made birdie. Okay a good craftsman never blames his tool now. He had a tough round. Any should say look. It's on me.

"Lots to discuss this morning and I'm looking forward to catching up with Brandel Chamblee at the golf channel and shipped back to Mr fifty nine Brando as you know is a most opinionated personality on the telly who talks about golf and lots of strong opinions recently he criticized modern day golf instruction by saying in quotes golf teachers are being exposed to for their idiocy and he went on to say that in quotes flawed teaching philosophies and more careers than help and quote back in December he caught patch agreed a cheater he criticized Brooks KEPCO for bulking up to be photographed for ESPN cover and getting back to his thoughts on the golf swing Chamblee has had a lot to say about Jordan speed in his swing changes and a couple years back tiger's swing changes he said in quote tiger got the least out of his talent more than anyone in history on quote so no doubt Brandel Chamblee makes bold opinionated statements on the air or when he's being interviewed and needless to say these statements create a firestorm of controversy and attention no I like brand assembly's work very much I feel that sports particularly golf commentary which can be mellow quiet and very diplomatic most of the time I think we need people who have strong opinions and who aren't afraid to express them if they are qualified to say them and if they're honest about why they are expressing these opinions if Brando truly believe the statements that he's made then good for him he is in a position to express them if he or anyone it is just trying to be outrageous you know for the sake of ratings or garnering attention I'm not comfortable with that but if a commentator truly believe something and is fair about it then by all means say it golf meets colourful personalities personalities who aren't afraid to rock the boat personalities who are students of the game who do their homework who do an intense amount of research as I know Brandel dies I appreciate commentators who are not afraid of speaking out or speaking out when they feel the need to I think that's very important now a few weeks ago Brando was interviewed by Adam shoe pack of golf week and they were discussing golf instruction and if certain golf swings certain styles are sustainable it was a long discussion and Brandao said in quotes the teachers are being exposed for their idiocy but I stood on the range he said with a prominent teacher who had acolytes all around him who then went out and those acolytes talk with acolytes in that they completely spread this flawed philosophy through all of teaching and all teachers stuck to that ideal end quote he did go on to use vulgar verb about these teaching philosophies which he later apologized for that the word he years but his overall point I think was that he doesn't agree with many of the golf instruction being taught and then their teachings gain popularity via social media and it becomes the way to swing and the magazine lists that rank the top golf instructors are really more based on the instructors marketability then whether he or she know what they are doing and that's how I interpreted his comments that created another firestorm in the golf world now I do see where he's coming from he sees a lot of golf swings he studies them he played on the PGA tour I do feel that many young players are taught swings that are so mechanical that they lose their natural athleticism which is not good you do see a lot of cookie cutter swings out there particularly with many of the college players they swings many other swings look identical is there one way to swing a golf club no and there are a lot of varying theories you know what works for some certainly would not work for others I mean look at Jim fear Rick that swings the ugly but Europe has had just an incredible career on the PGA tour and a lasting one Raymond Floyd Lee Trevino Bubba Watson never took a golf lesson in his life and he's won two masters it is one twelve PGA tour titles when you're taking lessons does the instructor taking consideration your athletic ability and work around your strengths and weaknesses many do and why to professionals who are winning feel like they they must change their swing that always puzzled me well perhaps the strongest statement rental Chamblee has said in the last six months or so is the opinion he stated about Patrick reed after Reid was assessed that two stroke penalty at the hero world challenge last December for improving his line of play when he took those two practice swings in that bunker he moved Stant now it's against the rules as you know to move or press down loose soil or sand or alter it in any way you can ground your club we cannot approve the ally so you know I've watched that footage over and over and over again in highs in his practice swing reads club movement took stand behind the ball was it natural intent on Patrick's part and I mean how could a tour player with that much experience not no you know what he's doing when he was asked about it afterwards read said that you just have to accept it and move on he said he did not knowingly seek to improve his life it is my word against their work he said so how many of you have watched that footage do you think Patrick reed thought he intentionally improve his life to think that's what he did I watched a segment on the golf channel where brand Chamblee with asked his opinion of the patch agreed incident and here's what Chamblee had to say to defend what Patrick reed did is defending cheating it's defending somebody breaking the rules everybody in the world it often look for golf this eliminates borders you are we are brought together by our love for the game and the love of the traditions of this game as far back as this game goes at its inception is you do not improve your lie this is not a new rule it's been around a long long time I don't care what camera angle you can go overhead you know down the line you go face on he would have known he was moving sand in the path of his club improving his life so he's put his teammates and a very difficult situation this was flagrant this was absolutely flagrant there's just no way no camera angle that you can look at you couldn't anybody in the world of golf that watch this was it was repugnant video to the world of golf you know it's difficult to believe that what patch agreed did was not intentional and if it was indeed intentional I mean I don't know how one thinks one could get away with that you know what the TV cameras looking you know televising everything well after the hero world challenge the president's Cup took place in Australia and you know Patrick is on the American team and the controversy followed him way over to Australia you know he did take a lot of heat from the fans over there in fact reed's caddie who happens to be his brother in law I shoved a fan that is said to cross the line and he was removed from carrying Patrick's bag after the Saturday morning session of the president's got and a while later I guess Chamblee gotta feast a cease and desist letter from Patrick's attorney demanding that he stop referring to Patrick as a cheater now when Brooks KEPCO was asked if reed was cheating on his Sirius XM radio show here's what Brooks capped I had to say yeah I think hi I mean I don't I don't know what he was doing play you know building sandcastles in the in the sand but you know you know your club is I mean I took three months off and I can promise you I know if I touch sand I don't think it's it's one of those things where you know if you look at the video yeah obviously he craves and twice any still tops down on it it's I guess you know the Astros are going through that right now Jim crane said it you know when they got **** cheating he said no we just you know broke the rules so you know I don't I know it is one of those things where I don't think if you play the game you understand the rules you understand you know the integrity that goes that goes on in I mean there's no room for it you know I think a lot of times too I think guys and I'll be honest I've seen it a couple times where it's like whoa I've seen some big names be like well that's not right and I'm dog bit my tongue yeah a lot of times TV you can't hide from from the cameras and everything and you know we we bought our town a lot it's one of those things you know guys a bit in the rough and also they've got three went out in their dominant kind of down it's interesting goes on a little bit more than people think well everybody has something to say about it in fact Peter Costas said he saw a patch agreed cheat on at least four occasions time E. D. S. said in quote it couldn't be an accident and quote so we'll get brand assemblies take on all of this now that the controversy has settled down or has it and I also want to talk about his comments about Brooks kept at tiger Jordan speed lots to discuss and then add to seven forty this morning check back one of the great investors in golf will join as chip and I posted a very memorable Viking river cruise as part of a at Primera golf Ryder Cup experience two years ago in France at the two twenty eighteen Ryder Cup and I had an opportunity to get to know chip and his lovely wife Karen and I hosted a couple Q. and a sessions on that cruise and he's just an incredible background he was a member of three Ryder Cup teams he was the second player in the men's game to ever shoot a fifty nine he even had a hole in one on a par for so we'll talk to chip back about the writer cat now that you as you know the Ryder Cup is scheduled for September twenty five two the twenty seventh at whistling straits in Kohler Wisconsin and many of you listen to this show heard sept wa the CEO of the PGA of America tell me a couple weeks ago that although they realize the importance of hosting a Ryder Cup with spectators they are starting to try to create some kind of virtual fan experience the day will try to be as creative as they can can you envision a Ryder Cup with no spectators well and that could be a a good possibility and will get shipped back to take on that this morning as well as some other things couple news items well we know that the current plan for the PGA tour is for the schedule to start June eleventh at the colonial in fort worth and that the first four events will be played without fans so yeah the colonial June eighteenth to the twenty first the RBC heritage in Hilton head South Carolina then you have that travelers championship in Cromwell Conn June twenty fifth through the twenty eight and then the a rocket mortgage classic in Detroit July second through the fifth and for now the John Deere classic in Illinois which is supposed to be July nine through twelve would be the first event where spectators would be allowed on the PGA tour and the tour it sent a memo to players this past Thursday but said players exempt for this season and will keep the same status for the twenty twenty one season that is scheduled to start in September unless they earn a higher ranking this season so no one would lose a PGA tour card and the guys playing the Korn ferry tour we'll have to wait until next year before joining the PGA tour the PGA tour champions announced their revised schedule for the twenty twenty season the tour plans is to restart the season of July thirty first through August second in Michigan eight events have been canceled on the PGA tour champions including the popular Dick's sporting goods open now the LPGA pushed their return from mid June to mid July their first tournament will be in Michigan July fifteenth through the eighteenth we know the U. S. women's open has been moved to December tenth through thirteen the final event of their season will be the C. M. D. group tour championship moved to December seventeen to twenty it's the work that late in the year and the K. M. P. G. women's PGA championship has been rescheduled to October eighth through the eleventh at around a mink golf club where it was supposed to be so that is that pretty much all the top news so far we're going to take a quick break and come back and talk to former PGA tour player the golf channel's Brandel Chamblee we'll be right back C..

Analyst Brandel Chamblee on all things golf

"All Right Ladies Gentlemen we are joined by a very special guest a friend of ours ars Panama on probably a handful types now. But I think it's been at least a year so he is the lead analyst for Golf Channel One of the best analysts in the game. I got a whole intro. Here wait till you see all this he is a PGA tour winner the Greater Vancouver Open in nineteen ninety eight. He is now defunct finished well about. We're not worried about that. He finished tied for Eighteenth at the nineteen ninety nine masters never made the cut of the PGA Championship. Which I want to ask you about tied for forty fourth at the two thousand and one? US Open tied for sixty second at the open championship in two thousand one. Pretty good stretch author of the anatomy of greatness. Which I've read Mr brand-new shambling? Welcome come to the show my friend. Yeah those last few terms are not defunct. They're still they're still they're still up and running And it's always a pleasure to join you guys Who's there in the studio? We've got myself guys. Would you like to introduce yourself Frankie here brandon. Trent also got lurch. That could to meet you four to it so you tell us a little bit pre show that you just came from a little shoot with rory. I wanted to address royal because I was just reading this article earlier. This week. That came out independent. Paul kimmage was going on with Rory. You know nothing's off limits a an amazing acing insightful interview and he mentioned you rory in this interview and there are some negative words that you have received leave before some positive words but I thought we would start with some very positive words from rory and what happened was I played a little clip from year guys discussion on live from from or golf central or whatever it was right after the Patrick read winning the masters a few years ago and the clip. You essentially Go through how this has to be the most disappointed. The point that rory's Ben since leaving Augusta in two thousand eleven you talk about Amnesia from his first tee shot that day which if anybody remembers he hits it a million yards right off the first tee and you talk about that had to creep into the rest of his game and rory goes on to say it hurts when you're on the receiving end and sometimes I think And sometimes all that stuff hurts but I think brandon was one of the smartest guys in Gulf. He's brilliant I like him. He's giving me a book on. Bobby Locke I have it here. So so what are your thoughts and hearing those kinds of comments from Roy a that that type of stuff you know it hurts to hear but also be that he says you're the smartest guys in the game. Yeah you know when you said that in a chair where somebody asked every two minutes. What do you think Why did he do that what you know? What reasons did he? You know made him win. Why did he lose those kinds of things? I mean you have to very often say critical things if people you really like and admire and sometimes you have very complimentary things about people that you don't particularly care for it's just the nature of the job and you know and also the nature of Of all of us that I could wax on for an hour about all the great attributes and the one thing everybody will remember just one critical comment Has All the time I'll do interviews with people and go on and on and on about a particular player for I don't know Ten minutes and then I might say one critical thing and then that'll be the headline and in the story or the podcast or whatever I get totally understand it But it's just hard of the. It's a part of the job I have it. So it's the nature of the job. I have in the analysis business. And you know if you say everything's great and when something comes along. That really is great. While you've desens- Does the whole world and they're not going to believe you so you know he set up there. At least I do I sit there and I just try to as best I can but shots in historical context and when they're great you know without being hyperbolic great when there are awful without being pollick awful so he goes on to sort of talk about how the Rangers that day. He had a left mess. Then he comes out to the first day and he hits it miles right right and your analysis was obviously that though that that shot is clearly. He's going to remember that throughout the entire day at affected the rest of his round. Like how could you tell that. Anita from that. Shot from whatever's going on with the swing was affecting the rest of his entire route. I it's informed by I years and years and years and years of struggling with those issues myself and You know I mean we all have those issues. You had a horrible horrible shot off the first tee or somewhere around the rest of the round in particular when you get to a place where that miss is now Even more vulnerable people because of a penalty. Then they're gonNA favor it and predictably miss it the opposite direction are they gonNA make nuanced changes to their offspring. So I've I've spent the last twenty years of my life watching golf. The way radiologists looks at X.. Rays you know I. I'm I'm all in I'm all allies and I am I research every detail of it and you know it's it's a it's an educated. Guess I guess if you want to call it what it really was but Roy May differ with me later on in that interview. He said he forgot about. It doesn't think about it and and and again I say you know. There is a crucial crucial role of Amnesia. The maintenance power of every athlete you have to be able to forget the inability to forget is infinitely more more devastating than an inability to remember for an athlete. You've got to be able to forget the bad stuff Years ago there was a people talk about about this interview that Jack Nicklaus gave or this speech rather than dynamics gave where he said he'd never missed a pot on the last hole that he needed to make and a man held his arm Arma said. Excuse me Mr Nicholas just last week I was watching you and a PGA tour champions event you had a four hundred or on the last. Oh you missed it and maybe you just kind how to forget that one. and Mr Jackson let me repeat at Never Mr Putt on the last hole of the tournament that I needed to make and the man in the crabbers incredulous and later on he went up and talked to Bob. Tell this man sin. Why wouldn't Jag just admit it? And and Bob said well hold on a second. That's how you think right and Manson absolutely got admit go so you're telling the greatest athlete of all time that he should think how you think you're far often the greatest athlete of all time or maybe. We should just all jacking and again. That's and Mesia. You need to have it. You need to extract. All of the good there is is to get out of every situation and then forget all the bad and then and then move on. I remember one time. One thing you told me was that you know in order to really get to that level level where you're a we're obviously talking about some of the best players of all time and Roy who's going to be the number one ranked player in the world again here very soon but like to get to that top level you you basis Jason like at some level you have to just beat almost delusional. I mean you have to have almost a blind ridiculous illogical belief in yourself at the Times that like your perfect and even better than you actually think you are and if you don't you just can't make yeah. I mean the game of golf for sport in general and he'd you're constantly attacked by not only the people that you're competing against but by the media and fans listen and then you have your own sort of Uninvited guests in your head. You know this little demons pop up and and you you have to lay waste all of those as best you can and you can do it through sort of you know arrogance you can do it to sort of self delusion but I mean it's rare that the the athletes can get to that place where they need to get through sort of rational balanced Thought and I think that's one of the things that makes rory such an appealing superstar. Superstar is that he's a lot closer to federal Along the lines to be approachable humble symbol And yet the right level of arrogance me word has a negative connotation to but I think it's important to have the right level of arrogance as an athlete but it's so often accompanied by the less poudel aspects of that word. The right level level of it is Well it's it's very present in Roy. So let's fast forward a couple years for his game now he's Mid's mm it's kind of insane has been since two thousand fourteen that he's won a major championship of course had really good years along the way really good finishes very consistent Golf. Where do you see his game? Now a specially as putting I mean I know you've you've done a ton of research on on putting feel versus technical and all that rory's biggest struggle has been the putting were you general thoughts on Roy's game going this year especially as putting. Yeah well I think you made changes in the way. He prepares works out and that has allowed his body to move better so he's less inclined to get injured. Still got this. You know. Full reg motion and lots of speed I think had to go there with the working out with rory I like it. Yeah but I mean He. I as I've when I criticize if you want to use that word his workout routine. I was watching him getting injured. Nagging injuries popping up. I was watching his Co.. PEDS BE DECLINE AT AGE win. It should have been maintaining or even going up and you know I mean he I I said what I said. I couldn't have it with anymore. Caveats and the next day he posted a video game. Self working out I think I've told you this before about a month later I was on a set of live from said that the match-play WDC AC match-play Roy. One in fulfilling an obligation on the set nice come up but I was busy. I was working. I didn't look his direction at intern around when he was walking off no effort to connect with him and I felt a tap on my back and turn around and goes you know I was just fm with you you know. That's that's what we do. I was just having fun because I didn't mean any armide and I was like I get no problem. I didn't take offence to it at all but but I think in the long run. I do believe that rory changed as the way he fares works out so his body moving better less inclined to get injured And then with the short game you know I think he made a good move going to work with the Brad Faxon I say work with. It's really just having conversations with then and Brad is given him permission if you will to be less careful on the grains to be more clinic more reactionary which is crazy because because you know the game of golf right now is just inundated with pseudo-scientists pat sells off as a pseudo scientists and then and then they have cluttered up the game with very complicated esoteric thoughts that are not doing their students any favors whatsoever and I think Roy did a good the job of divorce in himself from those thoughts those ideas and those teachers and he's on the right path and then I think mentally were whatever place he needed to find find he got there towards the end of last year to sort of play his best gall I think. You know the rivalry. They may not call it a rivalry but it certainly feels like looks like rivalry between Brooks So I think that's that's fine tuned. Whatever it was it was missing trump his game into To a great spot so it sets up I think beautifully for Roy going into twenty twenty. What's your relationship like with Brooks Kepco? He kind of tweeted. I love what may or may not have been a clown picture with your face on it. Yeah I don't have a relationship with Brooks I yeah. I don't have a relationship with mini tour players of said forever that my job is sort of incompatible with having relationships toward players to speak about I think Brooks's a heck of talent Allen but I I think Brooks comes to this game sort of a A team sport combative Sports Sports Mentality. I think that's the sort sort of sensibility that he brings to go off. It's not really consistent with the traditions of the game. And it's a gentleman sport I think his comments mints about there'd be no rivalry between him and rory and saying that Roy hadn't won a major championship since he was Plan the PGA tour. which which by the way is ludicrous because it was a professional Golfer and twenty twelve? He just wasn't good enough to play on the stage. That Roy was on. I do believe Roy's won three major championships. Pittsburgh successional dolphins so it was Just disrespectful Not only the traditions of the game. It was disrespectful to rory And I wouldn't be surprised if you know and and sort of a roundabout way Work to motivate rory. Don't know that I'm just guessing but but who wouldn't use that to To motivate them so. I don't think like that face picture. Brandel I don't think you like Brooks did that to you. I think he's had that comment that he wasn't good enough for a long time. He's back I don. I saw it. I thought it was funny. I actually posted a picture of myself with a clown shortly shortly after that in response to his clowns because I it doesn't bother me. I mean it's again it comes with the territory of what I do for a living did that. There's GonNa be some retribution or or Kickback from some of the things. I've said you know I I I said before I mean I'm kind of half joking but I have left a few shows before and thought. Wow I don't really agree with what I said You know sometimes it just comes out wrong. Aw Show true boy. Have I been there gene. How do I get there now? He's talking about that happened. That's breaking segment right there. I mean we. It's it's incredibly feature that sometimes you just start you come from a good place with it. You know you have the information and then by the time it all comes out. You're like what the fuck did I say seriously. Yeah I don't would agree with what I just said. It happens from time. TV or radio or PODCASTS. It's a little golf. I mean just get it wrong. Ties make mistakes as a book. You know You try not to try to learn from us. Try to be accurate you know. That's the goal is to be accurate. Fair it doesn't always work out that way.

Lawyer warns Chamblee: Stop calling Reed cheat

"Here's what happened Thursday I was raised normally here Bob your I heard she was but you hear a lot of that in the from the fans this year but yeah this is interesting twist to a golf we contain a letter which attorney Peter Ginsberg wrote to tell Brandon Chamblee this season this is using the word cheater when talking about Patrick read on the air we hired a lawyer to send a cease and desist letter yes it will frame from any further decimate decimation publication or republication of false and defamatory defamatory statements concerning Mister reed including any allegations that he cheated but but the but I will kill it in the Bahamas like you said the the the PGA did they they they yes but they put it to bed last week about it they they they it was a violation of the rule okay so when called upon to notify did this with a notice if he objected to it and said Bob you know this this this this then he would be intentionally trying to cheat gotcha his thing is that if something moves I was not aware of okay moved so that's what I will do that when he did yeah right and when you call somebody cheater that's you intentionally did something to gain advantage occur his contention in this one's contention is he inadvertently did something to gain an advantage and when called upon with video evidence he was more than happy to go into a cease
