"After fighting the coronavirus and he really in some ways needed to win his approval ratings have been at record lows. And now you have key Democrats in the Senate saying that they appear to have stricken a deal on a top domestic priority. So this is absolutely a good news for the president, especially as we saw a lot of sort of economic news where a lot of people are very worried about whether or not a recession might be around the corner at President Biden has been saying over and over again that the economy doesn't look like it's in a recession. But this deal, this inflation reduction act, which really could be some would say is a renamed build back better, which everyone really thought was dead. It's now being revived in for senator Manchin to come out and say that he's willing to support a bill that's going to be billions of dollars with a B for things like healthcare subsidies and climate change initiatives. That is really, I think, a good sign for President Biden as he tries to get ready to argue that Democrats should hold on to the health and the Senate. Ahead of the midterms. Yamiche, we already learned that the text messages from some Secret Service agents were missing in the days leading up to January 6th. And now there's a new Washington Post report that more crucial text messages are missing from Homeland Security secretary Chad wolf, and acting deputy secretary Ken cuccinelli. The house January 6th committee can't be too pleased or M might be concerned about that. Certainly, when you think about sort of this case of missing text messages from the Department of Homeland Security, it is just eye popping given as you just said that the Secret Service also has missing text messages. We heard from Jamie Raskin who is a member of the January 6th committee really found in concerned worried about whether or not this is a coincidence saying that possibly it's not. So I think this is a space where definitely going to have to watch because it's unclear right now whether or not this is nefarious and they're this is sort of purposely being done and there's information being hidden from lawmakers and destroyed. Surrounding January 6th or whether or not this was a terrible coincidence and this is sort of what was happening as a new administration was getting ready to start with. Of course, the transition between Trump and Biden being from the corner from the January 6th day, which is, of course, was just supposed

Joe Biden's Unforgivable Failures at the Border With Chad Wolf

"The southern border and also recruitment of new people into border patrol is the great Chad wolf. Chad, welcome to the program. Yeah, well, thanks for having me, Charlie. So Chad, let me read a headline here, which is just it's so alarming when I read this. I said, well, I had to reread it because we have all these stories printed out. And I was doing so many different things. I said, what on earth? I said 46 people dead in a Texas tractor trailer. Now, I've been to the border a couple times. I'm far from an expert. I'm a layman on this. 46 people, what the hell is going on on the southern border? Well, it's pretty bad. And this is a particularly bad incident that occurred. It's just outside of San Antonio where what appears to be a number of illegal aliens who came across that border illegally were in the back of a tractor trailer truck and obviously the heat in South Texas is pretty pretty unbearable this time of year. And unfortunately, those individuals, some of those individuals passed away. But I think what it shows you is the incentive factor that this administration's policies along that border have caused, right? Where individuals from all across the world, but particularly in Mexico and Central America and other places are trying to get to the United States as quickly as they can under a Biden administration policies because they know if they get here, then they have a very good chance of staying in remaining here in the United States, despite having no legal reason to remain here because of this administration's policy. So I think unfortunately you're going to see more and more types of these incidents as we go forward. So here's what first of all, I just want to

The US Military Is Struggling to Meet Its 2022 Recruiting Goals

"Is one of our great successes as a nation, strongest military ever to exist in the history of the world. NBC News. Every branch of the military is struggling to make its 2022 recruiting calls, officials say. With record low number of Americans eligible to serve, and few of those willing to do it, it's quote, is this the year, the question of sustainability of the all volunteer force. I wonder why. These people. It's an intentional destruction of the U.S. Military. That's what they've been doing. Every branch of the U.S. Military is struggling to meet its fiscal year 2022 recruiting goals. The official said The Pentagon top leaders are now scrambling for ways to find new recruits to fill out the ranks of the all volunteer force, defense secretary Lloyd Austin and deputy secretary Kathleen hicks consider the shortfall is serious issue. Yeah, maybe you should have thought of that before you wanted to mandate an experimental gene therapy and kick out active duty personnel, which Republicans did nothing to oppose. This is a start of a long drought for military recruiting, said retired general Thomas spore of the heritage foundation. He said the military has had not such a hard time signing recruits since 1973. Quote, 2022 is the year we questioned the sustainability of the all volunteer force. Now that NBC News article continues and they say, oh, it's because of the psychological trauma quote they think they're going to be physically or emotionally broken after serving. That's not why. I'll tell you why it's happening. Two things. They don't want to take in a vaccine against their will, and they don't want to serve under this. Put that on screen. Gavin Newsom Further Stirs 2024 Speculation With Florida Ad Buy

"Story after story is starting to trial balloon, Gavin Newsom. You type in Gavin Newsom and his Google alerts, Gavin Newsom further steers 2024 speculation with Florida ad buy. Gavin Newsom run ads in Florida. Newsom for governor California of 2022 has placed ad spending on Fox News in Florida cable zones for July 4th. He purchased a $100,000 of cable TV ads that will run on Fox News in Florida. We're not sure what the content of the ads actually will be. They say, stay tuned. Meanwhile, Gavin Newsom is on truth social he said before he has sub zero interest in running for president, which is a lie. And then reportedly air states air ads in a state 2700 miles away from his own. So Gavin Newsom obviously is being pushed by that entire group of California leaders to try to run for president in 2024.

"All right so on the border on immigration do you consider this to be a major issue Well of course I mean we're being invaded I think we had a record number I was talking to former acting secretary of Homeland Security Chad wolf and he told me we had 2 million people that they got a hold of last year but 600,000 got in that they didn't get a hold of it They got away And so it is a true invasion It's one of the reasons I'm running I was working as the ambassador in Denmark and I was watching the rioting in 2020 and looting and then the Biden incoming administration talking about banning fracking and opening our southern border And I was like my gosh I've worked all these years to help Republicans get elected And they're not fighting for us We're losing our country so fast I better do something different I better step up and run And so we've got to secure the border We've got to build the wall And we have sentinel as you know an illegal aliens coming over the border and I personally lost a young relative over Christmas break to a fentanyl overdose So this affects every community in America the drugs that are pouring in from China over the

Jim Carafano Brings Young Conservatives Together

"We are back. It's Friday. It's national security. Jim Carrey, inviting me. Thank you for that wonderful event this Tuesday on Wednesday. Reinstalled my faith that there are young kids who believe in America. You're like 70 kids. Come and listen. Can we talk about that? Yeah. So this is something we actually started coming out of COVID was, you know, it's tough for a young conservative of Washington, D.C.. I bet you that's actually true in a lot of places in other country, but so they would just like to they don't mind hanging out with liberals or whatever, but they'd like to sit down and have dinner or drink or something and not get yelled at for their politics or be told, I can't date you because you're a conservative. So we just wanted to create a space for young people just to get together in like a no stress way. And so it actually started just as kind of getting something getting out of code. I actually did it for my staff. And I grabbed like 6 young people in my staff and I said, look, you guys have been great. Each of you go out and find 5 friends and bring them and we'll front the happy hour, right? And so now you came to the one yesterday, it was about 70 people. 70 young brilliant. Stood there for an hour. And look, he doesn't pay me. So I don't have to say. But so I invited them up because I like to bring somebody in to kind of say, you people are here because you believe in service to nation. And it's good for you to hear about people that have gone on your journey on that journey. And here they're experienced and hear how you might benefit for that. Chad wolf came, former sector home and security bob wilkie. And so I invited Seth because semin and I are old friends, and I thought, well, a lot of them know Seth from his. They don't know anything about his experience in his father in Hungary and his background and most of them don't even know what happened in The White House and everything else. But they know he's a radio guy, and they were and his story is so compelling. And it is, it was so riveting to them. Literally they stood there for I think we're stuck like an hour. And they were happy.

Biden officials blame Trump for border crisis

"Hours. President Biden has largely blamed the increasing number of migrants arriving at the southern U. S border on the previous administration. NPR's Franco Ordonez reports that some officials from the Trump administration are now pushing back. The Biden administration says it was handed a crumbling immigration system. They describe steps they've taken to accept unaccompanied minors and then controversial programs that require migrants to remain in Mexico. As quote a moral imperative. But some former leaders like then acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf say the Biden administration is actually dismantling systems that worked. The administration is treating this as though it's a capacity issue. And not in illegal behavior issue. And that's a fundamental difference, Wolf said. Ending those programs sent a message to the region that the border is open. But those programs were also controversial and included reports of

U.S. Justice Department investigating more than 170 people over Washington, DC riots

"Six days after the violent attack on the us capital law enforcement finally help the first federal press briefing about what happened. That is an acting attorney. General united states the podium or the director of the fbi not just the local guys acting us attorney the district kumble columbia and the assistant director in charge of the fbi. Washington field office to talk to the country on camera for the first time about the attempted insurrection against the us government at the capitol. And what they are doing to bring the rioters to justice. We have already opened one hundred and seventy more than one hundred seventy subject files meaning. These individuals have been identified as potential persons that committed crimes on the capitol grounds inside and outside so of those one hundred and seventy cases that have already been opened in. I anticipate that's going to grow to the hundreds in the next coming weeks we've already charged over seventy cases just yesterday. Our office organizers strikeforce of very senior national security prosecutors and public corruption prosecutors. they're only marching. Orders from me are to build seditious and charges related to the most heinous acts that occurred in the capital some encouraging actions. There is still feels like things are not quite moving that quickly given the scope and stakes of what is at issue here and more importantly the impending threat of further armed assault politicos national security correspondent in touch with virtual joins. Me now natasha. I what what did you. What was your takeaway from the briefing today. Well it was clear that the fbi first of all was trying to do some cleanup on its own behalf. So the fbi official their emphasized that the warnings that they received were in fact shared with their state and local partners so they did share them with local law enforcement officials according to official. And that was i. Think an attempt to say look. We did our part of the job and it was up to say capital. Police are the members of the joint terrorism task force in washington. Dc to kind of put together. The security measures that were necessary in order to respond to the kind of violence threats and intelligence that they were that they were receiving. So i think this was part of what we've seen in the last week as a continuation of the fbi's attempt to say we did our job. Now the rest is up to you and then with regard to the attorney's office which michael sherwin was talking about. They want to say look. We are taking this seriously with regards to pursuing further charges. But take aways obviously is. We're not seeing the fbi director on stage not seeing briefings directly from the head of the fbi and from senior officials who might indicate to the rest of the country and to potential violent rioters. Who might come back to the capital that this is something that has gone to the highest highest levels of government that will not be tolerated. And i think that that is something that is also concerning some folks tonight. I mean it's a week after it happened six days and no i mean i don't know who runs the h s. Now chad wolf gone. Lord knows who's running that place. Fbi director chris. Wray the acting attorney. General jeffrey rosen image. Just it is shocking to me shocking. Inexcusable that we have not had a briefing. It's remarkable and national security officials who have spoken to have also said. Look you know one of the reasons why we might not be. Seeing them is because they might be afraid that they could get fired. You know in the week. That's left of this administration that speaking truth about this and the reasons why it was incited the realities of why these protesters came in and the capital would force them to lose their jobs and that you know take it at face value. Which is that. The president has never accepted his own officials. Speaking the truth about and and speaking In criticizing him anyway. So i think that's part of it.

When I say that Like one of the things that got announced was that, um Vice president Pence and President Trump spoke for the first time since The riot happened last week. They spoke for the first time yesterday. Right, Um That's on Trump. And this whole conversation of Mike Pence is really angry. But I don't know how you could tell. But the fact that they took a week for them to me. That's That's trump and that's a problem. You know, even when you look at the timeline of the riots, if you're vice president is there at the Capitol there's writing and you're not checking in on him. People are gonna say Yeah, that's messed up, man. That's not stuff. That's too myopic. Now. It could have gone like this. Where's pence? They got him out, sir. Okay. And then back to ramping, right? Mike Pence knows what he's been dealing with the whole time, which gets into a home Mike Pence conversation. Look, people know the vice president far better than me. I don't know him well and I'm a little bit. I've been fortunate enough to have some interesting conversations. With him as vice president, and then when he was governor. Of Indiana. That's not gonna be me here. They're going to tell me now. Maybe after the presidency when I When I get chance to talk to him, maybe tell me something. He would tell me in confidence. And I'm the guy who's not gonna share that story, so I don't know. I can't imagine him though. Having some kind of Big loud, angry. How dare he? How dare trump etcetera. One of the questions that constantly comes up about pence. Is the following. How could he stay with him? It's what people to judge, the incoming transportation secretary would say in the campaign trail. How could Mike Pence? Call himself a Christian? And I always said that is why people the judge is such a smarmy guy. Low rent and low class, really and truly ugly, ugly cat. And I worry about him having a political future in America because that's the line that's despicable because anybody who spent any time Would ration would reason there are two reasons. "Medical centers 12 41 following the deadly U. The resignation of Chad Wolf came as lawmakers started calling for hearings on why Wolf And the Department of Homeland Security failed to anticipate last week's violence. Earlier, we spoke with CBS senior National Security analyst Fran Townsend about the timing of Wolf's departure. I think it's disgraceful in your responsible frankly, nine days before an inauguration, where clearly we have very, very serious threats. The secretary of the department who is Responsible for that security. But remember, the U. S Secret Service has the lead in the National Security Special event that is the inauguration. They are an agency inside the Department of Homeland Security. And look, Let's be clear. Chad Wolf did not resign over the insurrection we saw in the capital last week, he resigned because he didn't want to be responsible for inauguration security. He gave the reason off some litigation that's been ongoing here in New York for months. On def That was the real reason he would have resigned long ago. And so I think he is a coward. Frankly, and I think he put himself before country and service and I think it's disgraceful. Even though we have additional security measures on top of the already large security effort that always accompanies and inauguration should inauguration plans this time be changed in light of all of this. You know, I think what we're seeing is they are going to be changed. This will be a very different inauguration. Partly because of the security effort, and partly because of you know, once again, the increasing rise Cove it infections we've seen. They've already closed two of the national monuments. I think we ought to expect there will be a closure on Inauguration day of the National Mall. I think you will see additional police presence 10,000 National Guard troops. All right, thanks, said. Let's bring in Kyle Rote. Tonight. He's market analyst that high G group to talk about what's going on in the markets. Carl's down there and Melvin and not a lot of action on equities markets, Kyle, But as Brian mentioned the dollar spot index rallying a third day in a robe, Morgan Stanley walking back there weak dollar call. This is a bit of a reversal from what we saw at the end of 2020. What are your expectations for the green deck? It's only change the narrative in the last 24 hours or so on. But actually, we saw the delegate multi allies last week, and, um, you know, that sort of, I guess really did kind of start to raise. The question is whether in the short time that the dollar is either sold You know, it's a good Morgan Stanley. Call today on Do you know thinking about it? I guess the first question that comes to mind. You really have to ask yourself. Have we seen the lows for the dollar? You know that sort of the dollar index 89 a little bit on that was recorded last week. And my personal view is that I don't think that we've seen the law yet Shirts, the dollar But in the short term where we're starting to see potentially that changing narrative that could start the repositioning off that sort of short, short dollar trade, which has become awfully crowded, so It could be a bit of a period now where we see the Della recover little bit, Although I don't think the bottoms it yet from from longer 10 perspective, So, Kyle, I'm curious to get your take. Is this more to do with some short covering, given the fact that so many on the street were negative on the dollar? And sold it down or is this may be due to Ah, surprising jump in US long term interest rates. I think it's both. I just don't think that the dynamic we'll change the long term trend. I think the fact that we've got we have two developments last week extent of the Georgia run off Now it's on my side. The Democrats trying to outdo themselves in terms of the amount of spending that they're they're pledging. For the U. S economy going forward, That's really changed dynamic as it relates to the outlook for us economic fundamentals. Obviously, there's the York impactful we've seen spreads narrowed between you know us Treasuries and sort of comparable other other comparable sovereign. But I think that's just being really the catalyst for a away reason to start on one in actual daughter. And I think everyone for everyone find it pretty much understood that that sure, Della traitors crowded and we'll probably have to be unwound. At some point. I'm giving the catalyst. It looks potentially like this is this is the catalyst. I don't think it'll be One that again changes the oval Cranes. I think we'll see his reflection Freight continue on awake. A dollar will feed into that again, You know, given that really historically, you know, over oversold levels and I suppose On historically stretch positioning that we saw in the U. S. Dollar to the downside. This is seemingly now that the point where Max distance of using this as an opportunity to underline that why not short short term told positioning. For what I think will eventually be another for a lower and like I said before, I don't think the bottom to the daughters in yet They're gonna be some interesting conversations at the Fed and 2021. Do you think they might have to start thinking about thinking about tightening? I think so. I think if you look it from the investment landscape more broadly, you know the sort of person last question that you have to ask yourself like a little continue to pop up throughout the year. And obviously the federal shape the narrative more than more than anyone else's. Look inflation going to do you have to ask that Questions for us to really then be able to set off on calls for every other actually class. What markets will do? More broadly, My personal view is the inflation gonna be picking up in sort of the longer comedian Turman obviously quite measures in question. The market studies flesh that out I think the real thing to me, though, is it Although the city is going to fight it very uncomfortable toward inflation Pick up you know they are going to be changed. Testing out this, this new raging amongst themselves more or less. Besides average inflation targeting goes and Will be a little bit of us. Suppose trial and error that likes to trying to communicate to the market tell the set plans on managing that dynamic and also setting policy around that. The thing is, I think we've We've understood this for a long time. Is that any kind of inflation outbreak or any kind of prospect? I really should say that off, raising rates in Respond to the prospect of higher inflation really does threaten to stay stabilize markets and then Roberta contaminate the real economy has potentially as it prices correct. That's not a foregone conclusion. But given affected for the first time in over a decade, we're really starting to see the real possibility off inflation over shooting for some sometime that sue this entire visit holes and You talk about that shit themselves. Getting that inflation question is going to be the first question. Everyone has to ask me. I think you're going to be a question that studies at it's remarkable to seep into going to continue to ask her out to you. And it'll be fed balancing act to make sure that they get those settings right Social that again. They can manage inflation adequately. But they don't run the risk of timing financial conditions by hiking rates too early writing like to really, or even getting the commentary wrong for the market's been pricing, such now come and again. Potentially affect as a process that's going to be very interesting to see whether or not Fed chair Jay Powell touches on any of those issues this week with his webinar Kyle Rata is market analyst at I G group on the line from Melbourne. "I mean, I know it, Z It's crazy fun, and it is fun, but it's also harrowing. So let's start with the Madigan announcement, and I fumbled when I was introducing What was the word he used? He didn't say pause. He's withdrawing. He's withdrawing. Okay, You could say withdrawal. Okay, so but he's not ending. So he's suspending not withdrawing. There you go. Suspending, um You know, So it just speaks to Madigan that no one believes because he always speaks in these riddles, right? That no one takes a statement at face value. But when I think another way you could look at this. This is my Madigan speak for I'm done. You know, I'm suspending you guys go find someone. Yeah, but it's sort of you know, it's just There's nothing concrete there. Well, I know Anna talk to representative Williams, who's hoping to unseat him, said she felt like she had a good outing. But obviously she still has to continue to meet with more people till She gets the 60 votes needed, but she felt confident in our first outing. "The direction of the party and the mood of the party. This Monday. It's a great question, Kevin. I think people are all over the place. They're unified in there. Shock and horror over what happened last week and their concerns about about safety, of course, But politically speaking in the next steps are Are are not clear cut for Republicans. I think there is a sense among a lot of people that some there has to be a reaction to what happened. You can't let it stand. On answered the what is essentially an attack. The legislative branch by the leader of the executive branch, you know, metaphysically, if not actually physically himself. S O. So I think there was a lot of sorting out that has to happen, and it has to happen quickly. Members in the house. You know, as they come back together early this week are going to look at each other face to face or perhaps over virtual calls and have to talk about what their constituents are saying. What their principles are and the way forward for the party. It's a It's a real crisis in the party, notably, the Senate is not In session this week. They're not coming back until next week. S so I think we're likely to see a more ah, less frantic and hopefully more sober and sensible answer from the Senate next week. Right now in the house, there's there's a lot of charm. There's a lot of confusion. The lot of voices I think they're gonna have. They're going, they're going to struggle with Coming up with a path forward for the party right now, and even Lester's. You were making those comments, a redhead line crossing by Bloomberg Terminal Right now, Fox News is reporting that acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf Is stepping down. And in a letter to DHF, D H s employees, he writes quote. I am saddened to take this step as it was my intention to serve the department until the end of the administration again. Fox News headline Crossing My Bloomberg Terminal, acting Head of Homeland security. Wolf is Chad Wolf is stepping down Lester months and another person. Yeah. Can I just offer a thought on that one? I'm not sure that's a great move. I tried Wolf, but I'll tell you in in agencies right now in the executive branch. A number of political appointees who would like to leave, they would like to signal their outrage over what happened last week. They're being urged by career folks not to leave because the career folks are concerned that they would be replaced by people. Who are who are less well grounded in reality. If you follow me, no, I do And it's real for a news folks to be present and to make good decisions. I'm talking about Trump political appointees to stay and try and do the right thing for these last 10 days and folks in terms of the If it sounds that you almost can't follow that I get it. But that the dynamic that Lester just explained, is the situation of so many Republican staffers. In this moment, countless virtually every single source that I've spoken to on the Republican staffer front since last Wednesday is in the predicaments for lack of a better word, and I, it's the wrong word. Lester that you just outlined quickly in 30 seconds, Jeannie before I gotta jump toc break. I mean, I'm up against a hard stop here. I mean, your your response to toe what the situation of many of these appointees is right today. Jeannie. Yeah. I mean, Lester and you both bring up an excellent point, which is, you know, not just who is going to replace these people, which is important enough, but in my mind, you're talking about the defense of the United States. As you have this kind of turnover at this late date. How insecure does that leave us In the wake of what we saw the other day in terms of what happened with the Soviet, breaking into many of our systems, the Soviet Union? Obviously, the breach on the capital and so many things that have gone on. I do think there are real questions is terms of our security both internally and externally. And these.
