"Chad Chronister to talk about the events that took place over the weekend here across Tampa Bay share fairytale I'm good you know what I'm I'm I'm I'm optimistic after seeing how everything other protests were more more peaceful the criminals who wanted to come out and destroyed property and and harm another person and and steal from businesses those groups for a lot less so I'm a happy guy today I really I'm I'm I'm not I'm optimistic that our that our campus community and and had a not not just law enforcement who said I will not and cannot tolerate one more moment of this type of criminal behavior current but I think our community had enough of it to what were you expecting heading into this weekend in terms of protests or even potential rights what we knew there was gonna be some protest I felt confident that they were going to be peaceful I know people are angered listen I'm appalled I'm disgusted by the actions of those officers in Minnesota but I know that we go to great lengths to make sure that our camper bay community every portion of this of this community has a voice and that's what I did yesterday I want to know listen I'm listening I'm always gonna be listening you have a voice with me there's no need to turn to violence and destruction but I'll be honest with you the protesters that we protected all day Saturday they weren't the ones that were causing all the damage and and the chaos that night they went home they wanted they are a form of expression we allow them to have it then the criminals came out and and they had they were they were just simply taking advantage of the situation is that nothing to do with George Ford so what happened on Saturday how did a gas station and a couple restaurants end up getting destroyed the riders came in they started dividing up the police they were gone to different places they were everywhere from bush and thirty S. all the way up the flower and working their way down power going back and forth Ballarat knew about the north side of town who will power Avenue becomes the unincorporated county and they start to gather they started becoming larger and larger diagnostic the crowd became larger and larger and as they as they grew larger they grew more violent and and more chaotic I meet in twenty nine years Ryan never ever have I seen on all call and I had to make the on call at all call and what that means that every single deputy sheriff that works throughout this eleven hundred square mile county respond to university area we need your help to bring control to this chaotic the I know there was a big assembly at university mall especially late into the night what was going on there because it looks like you have different situations happening in different places kind of like you just described the biggest gathering seemed to be university mall yeah that was the biggest gathering and I and I don't know why I don't may because there was more room for them the parts of the cars came and and and again you you you want to give them some latitude because are they going to get out of cars and they just want to be heard today are they gathering just again assembled that that that he spoke right to the lawful assembly but we rapidly discovered that they were there you know they were they were there for one reason and that was the cause chaos and destruction so we did everything we could to stop that and and and I think our our our deputies every man and one man a woman and a uniform weathers the Tampa police department the university of South Florida that was there to help us or deputy sheriff couldn't be more proud this community couldn't be more proud of how patient they were and how professional they were that night I'm joined by Hillsborough County sheriff Chad Chronister here on PM Tampa Bay who were the instigators and rioters and looters was it antifa out where these local gangs local troublemakers were there white supremacists mix Dan who was doing this great question it was a little bit of all of them there was no person single point of contact saying Hey I organize this in or doing it was a mixture of both there were some people from the area there were some people linked to some local gangs in the area from different neighborhoods along with people who were paid to be there and people who came all the way from Miami Belle glade decayed date that they came to Tampa Bay to cause destruction and again that's why we we I met with our our local African American community leaders yesterday and and made a plea for Pete and and ask for those peaceful protesters just stay at home because now your voice has been hijacked by people who want to take your voice and turned to violence for another reason so you would know specifically that people associated with antifa and people associated with white supremacism were part of the group that was causing the trouble that was damaging businesses that was creating chaos here in Tampa what we know is there are some people who are paid to be there there were people who came from around the state that have no connection to our Tampa Bay community simply being paid to come up here and and be antagonized and call some destruction and those individuals went to jail I'm joined by Hillsborough County sheriff Chad Chronister I got an email on Sunday asking about a county wide curfew I gotta tell ya I love the service I think they're a great idea and what what went into the decision not to institute a county wide curfew after the city of Tampa had instituted their own specific curfew almost all of the destruction of violence that the looting was occurring in the city of Tampa more importantly I didn't want to punish the remainder of the one point one million residents for the actions of a small group of criminals who wanted to cause destruction so I didn't feel we needed a curfew I hope we never need a curfew so I decided not to implement a curfew again I didn't want to punish the majority of our population for the actions of a few the National Guard how big of a part of the response workday throughout the weekend and could you have used them sooner because a lot of the destruction took place on Saturday night were they part of that response or did they just come in for the Sunday protests and that's a good question not a great question the city of Tampa had requested the National Guard command I certainly didn't feel that we were at a point where we needed the National Guard I think the National Guard is when law enforcement has failed we've been over run I'm like listen we need help I didn't think our Tampa Bay committee was their record again being being out there started going to the champion people are members of the community coming together and clean up for these business are just volunteering hoping that these businesses would re open in their communities served them and their family I got a different scent I got a different sense that it was gonna be is K. attic last night so I also I also felt confident in Pinellas county we share Paul Perry called me and I had a conversation in Pasco county where sheriff Nocco willing to dedicate any type of resources I would go down that Avenue I felt comfortable that if it if they came in their own incorporated county and we needed some assistance I certainly had the support of surrounding counties and I felt that would have been a better utilization of resources let let's use them first before we have to go in and turn to a to a National Guard deployment so what's the plan moving forward do you anticipate these protests continuing throughout the week and do you anticipate groups continuing to try to make trouble at night I think the protests will continue and I say protest I believe peaceful protests will continue and and again we have a great plan in place for crowd management teams have been staged we'll continue to monitor these protests when the protests become that that they go home and and people want to just become wires then the plan is to put everything on one of them in jail I will not and cannot tolerate another moment of destruction of harming another human being or stealing from from an apartment in the business I'm not going to allow to happen and those were counted I'm joined by Hillsborough County sheriff Chad Chronister here on PM Tampa Bay how will the department used this moments that were in in this country to keep building a better relationship with minority communities here in Tampa and this is a horrible part this happened halfway across the country and we're suffering on portable suffer entirely around the country and I get it I understand Hey we've heard this before we purchase products before we do this and nothing happened I think they did a good job in Minnesota you know he was indicted within twenty four hours they all lost their jobs I fully suspect that the indictments are coming on the other are coming up for the other officers they're going to be dealt with criminally I just don't think that here in the Tampa Bay area we take so many steps to make sure that our committee has a boy we do walk it like you talk about those were kind of share sales were deputies have to spend so many hours out of their car talking with the community getting the community server nothing police related just getting to know the community server knowing that you can't buy a truck you have there's no magic wand for trust between law enforcement community you earn it one relationship at a time one encounter at a time and it's fragile and that's why you saw one batting batting counter and now we're back to start from scratch you fix it by making sure that you have a workforce that is diverse reflects the commute that we serve just got taken over I sure don't have years ago our diversity higher rate is fifty nine point eight percent were more diverse from top to bottom you have to have a workforce that reflects the community that you serve and then we have minority counsel a black Advisory Council Hispanic Indian we meet with monthly or constant reviewing what we don't take the temperature of the community what do we need to change is there something we need to be sensitive yeah and again it goes back to training it's who you hire how you train them and then her supervisor is that it's a culture that you have to create in the office and you continue to build on that each and every day yeah I certainly don't want to be presumptuous and speak for these communities or the area as a whole but it does not appear that we have some of the systemic issues that you might find in other areas around the country I don't and that's because I think we make sure that we listen to every portion of the population that they have a voice they have a form of expression they don't have to turn to violence that that we hear them listen here's a promise for me I hear you you always have a voice with me I promise I will listen and then in some places around the country shamefully I don't believe that our minority minority population portion of our population they don't have that opportunity and they steal that violence or or anger or or this type of criminal behavior is their only form of expression so we'll continue to work hard here to make sure we build on what we've what we've established and again this is something that goes away or that you could easily get you have to earn it what each and every encounter one relationship at a time and final question for you sheriff I know there were a couple of officers that were injured in some of these altercations that took place over the weekend how are they doing thank you so much for asking the likely they're both okay they both went to the hospital we had one definite was hit in the back of the head with a brick he suffered a concussion luckily a nothing long term so he'll be okay the other one there was a firework directed towards him and hit him in the side of the face wears uniform was so we suffered some minor burns but again by the grace of god everyone's okay well that's good to hear thank you so much for all that you and your department are doing and the hard work that you've been putting it over the past couple of days I know it's a difficult time but we appreciate it thanks for keeping us safe here in Tampa Bay and anytime you wanna come on you always have an open invitation sheriff we appreciate it thanks so much Ryan take care be safe we've got a lot still to come here on PM Tampa Bay including the latest on the George Floyd case the family's independent autopsy results have been released we'll tell you about.

"It's AM Tampa Bay at eight forty one AM we're joined now by Hillsborough County sheriff Chad Chronister and sheriff we want to bring something up here about a Florida inmate that was released because of the pandemic then the next day he killed someone and this is very disturbing because inmates are being released all across the country yeah I think it's extremely disturbing that someone took advantage of of our kindness to release them now this is an individual who is eligible for bond on a low level nonviolent offense he was in jail for so if you would have the financial means he will believe what they got out anyway but you think you know you you you try to do the right thing you try to limit the exposure to other inmates to the deputies and the employees that work there I don't top that say listen take advantage of this go home take care your family and loved ones to this pandemic instead he chooses to go out and commit such a violent crime what does this mean for low level offenders moving forward here as we continue to navigate through this pandemic well I think we've we've done a great job but not just the sheriff's office but in Tampa Bay law enforcement I mean bookings are down we normally book around a hundred and twenty two hundred and fifty individuals a day and now the average is between forty and forty five so I think I think law enforcement is doing a great job of using discretion of who really needs to go to jail and on top of that I tell you what I have to say thank you to the community because they're they're they're doing what they're supposed to do they're staying home they're they're keeping a sauce say five by following the the safer home order and they're not out committing crime and the crime is just down right now I'm guessing you're probably fairly happy that they lifted the curfew and yesterday that had been established earlier I am and I think all our hearts were in the right place I just think we moved a little too hastily I I know people were upset that there were still a hundred individuals gathering outside a convenience store and that there were a lot of calls three hundred forty calls to be exact since the safer order went in place of whether it's a business or large gatherings of people not following the safer home order okay with that the good news is is if every single call that we went to Dave being compliant they dispersed we haven't had to go back to the same business or the same residence twice so that's the good news that has come out of all this I just think that if individuals continue to have a large gatherings law enforcement's gonna be forced to to use the enforcement component of this and end up arresting some individuals which is the last thing you want during a pandemic of now find yourself in some type of legal troubles but again I I think that I went back after that meeting I went back in studied not just sheriff's office calls for service but even throttled all the municipalities here in Hillsborough County spoke to all the chiefs of police and the calls for service just weren't occurring over the midnight hours they were going to day prevalent more prevalent in the evening hours so I think Russian to put out a curfew did nothing but anger out residence it confuses them and it's just a tool that law enforcement did need because if you truly think about it we already have a curfew in place we have a twenty four hour curfew in place we just it's more palatable because you because you called a safer home order instead of a curfew and the curfew that they proposed was nothing different once once the order came out twenty four hours later and we looked at it so I think because it was redundant it's not a useful tool for law enforcement is why I moved to have the order rescinded well I know this is how helpful go ahead sorry Jack continued not going today do you go on I was gonna say I got a pull for me I mentioned it yesterday sheriff I gotta pull from your office talk asking a question about about that curfew how helpful was that Paul look like thirty three thousand people responded to it how helpful is that for you to bring into that meeting it was helpful because a lot of times you know the email you're getting a special commission Miller getting death threats and other threats he was getting a racial slurs they were using you know people make it extremely personal but I think it was extremely helpful we sent out the hundred sixty one thousand residents and we wanted to gauge a listen what what do you really and how do you truly feel United portent to me do you feel that we really need this and I tell you what sixty four percent of individuals say yes we do need to at the end of the day I had to make a difficult decision the I don't think they understood that listen we have a curfew in place already a safer home order it was redundant it's not a useful tool for law enforcement I'll always err on the side of caution when it comes to protecting our community but I thought there the curfew order was just too confusing and and again I wrote a redundant order on something we already have all right well sheriff we appreciate your joining us on A. "To our other listener Richard white on board here this morning and we are mighty pleased to have with us cells row county sheriff Chad Chronister and sheriff is a very busy busy man these days undoubtedly and sure we appreciate your joining us and if you all had any covert nineteen related arrests that you had to make since the start of the pandemic are you mean as far as compliance under a safer home order yeah yeah we have it I think it's the most notable one was the the pastor unfortunately who we weren't able to plea with and and not have five hundred over five hundred congregants and gathering in at his church but other than that we've been extremely fortunate you think that's that's a that's a very low percentage when you do you think about where one point one point four million people in Hillsborough County now I can tell you that the rest there's only been one but calls for service have have been out and I think I think it's our community been extremely vigilant when they see something that's unsafe they're picking up the phone and call and I'm certainly encouraged that so we've had since the governor's or order his latest stay at home safer home order March twenty seventh which I don't have have had over two hundred calls for service but the good news is is once we get there and most of them in large gatherings of people haven't haven't large gatherings at their home parties there's been a of of a very few instances where it's been and nail shop or a garage sale somebody would have been but again I I looted back to the good news is that every time we've gone up there we've explained the governor's order we've explained the importance and and why we must a soul social distance everyone's been compliant so we really have had no issues when we talk about enforcement because we haven't had to enforce everyone's been ex extremely compliant and understand the how how dangerous it is if they're if they're if they're not taken those those precautionary measures sheriff you mentioned the arrest of Rodney Howard Browne the pastor it was very interesting because not long after that you did hear from the governor those orders but he said that religious services would be considered essential so that to me conflicted with what happened here in Hillsborough County with the pastor it certainly doesn't and I don't understand that he's the governor I don't I don't question the governor I can tell you what we've done here this week as we prepare for one of the most holiest of Christian holidays is we've been contacting most of the pastors in the county and explaining to them the importance of social distance and and I think everyone's everyone realizes how dangerous it is to have a bunch of people gathered together as our numbers continue to skyrocket with the the spread of this covert nineteen there's been a couple passes you said that they found a compromise in there doing drive in church and that's where their congregants can come drive in the parking lot the families remain in their cars to didn't do a particular AM channel and they can hear the pastor speaking I'm like Hey listen that's a common sense approach but again our our goal as law enforcement never doing key anyone's ability to worship you know in a time like now we all need faith we we need as much as as much as we can get but we just have to realize we we have to do it safely so even even with the governor saying that church and church services are essential we're still reaching out explaining to the pastors and focusing on the educational component known how how would set us back to the community if we allow large gatherings of people well yes they do the church in a proper way by distancing people and not having a large crowd the distancing people six feet apart and all that I know would be hard to get him in the door and everything else but is that acceptable that that would be acceptable you have to keep you have to keep people apart you know again to prevent the spread so it's acceptable I certainly I certainly would encourage it but it's acceptable per the governor's orders I I I certainly wouldn't be in a large large group of people ten or more if you happen to CDC CDC say Hey listen anything more than ten or more people it becomes dangerous well that that's good enough for me I I I I don't think I want to catch is virus and I and I would avoid gatherings regardless of where I'm at I think that's the best approach would be online virtual it would be broadcasted on TV station as some churches have the ability to do again these drive through churches I just I think it's just unsafe regardless of of what your purpose is is to have anyone there in any groups that are that are larger than ten people I share Christer let's get to the the real meat here the the tiger meet any any latest news on Carol Baskin serve big cat big cat rescue yeah I'm sorry I missed the question any any latest updates on Carole Baskin those of big cat rescue you know I can tell you what we've decided to do you know the case has always been open a cold case never closes if new leads commando revisit the case and we hadn't had any movement since two thousand ten and two thousand eleven and two thousand and ten we obtain DNA swabs from don Lewis as children because we wanted to get that into a database don had been arrested a few times so we had some fingerprints we had some dental records but we wanted to get it some DNA case his body was ever recovered we would be able to do it again to fight through DNA and then in two thousand eleven we asked Carol to come in and take a polygraph and she denied she said it wouldn't hurt tourney visor wouldn't vindicate her it wouldn't help her or prohibit the sheriff's office from pursuing criminal charges at a future date so she declined it but now fast forward to now with the with the show's popularity as this becomes the number one number one Netflix series and watch show in America I saw a couple weeks ago Hey listen why why would we as a law enforcement as he tried to do a glimmer some type of evidence or leads and and try to take advantage of this popularity so we put it out and we're receiving now about a half a dozen to a dozen of leads a day now I say believes most over individuals part of like like you and me who watched the series in as soon as it's over like well let me tell you who did it and how it was done and everything else so most of the more theory than leads hasn't been anymore vai had been a viable leads but Monday I asked the detectives to go back and start from scratch I said listen it it there's been too much time has passed and anyone who's watched the show has seen that they'll they were so competitive they were so so suspect to beach other they always thought they were spies amongst them and people there that work for them almost had to pollute prove their allegiance and our loyalty on a daily basis well that's a that's a lot of time over twenty three years for relationships this sour so what I'm hoping is maybe there's over a soured relationship maybe with the popularity someone has now wants to get this off their chest and would feel more comfortable talking to law enforcement so we're going to go through now and go through every interview come through every piece of evidence almost go through the entire case again and that made and that may mean that we'll send some detectives over to Costa Rican re interview individuals over there again trying to trying to solve this case after twenty three years well sure thank you for joining us this morning on A. M. Tampa Bay I'm followed the case but keep up the good work it's it's incredible it really early on AT and ample but a your morning expresso starts right here Sean Hannity morning minute he's got to have enough tests and an average doing great what we probably need you know ten times what they're able to do which is two million a month which is pretty amazing and again no in five minutes so anyway that that is going to be worse going to be now look I'm sure there are some medical professionals that probably would say something to the effect that well over really got to save every life we you know we should stay in this shutdown mode forever we can't afford as a country to stay in the shutdown mode forever it will impact we are ready impacting the have come to me in ways that are we're stretching in ways that have never been stretched before that's why when they keep talking about Morse stimulus money or infrastructure money my head explodes Hey Sean Hannity show from coast to coast later today Hey Sean Hannity here let's take a quick break if you care about the way your yard looks and you don't want to spend all day making it look great you need to try out.

"So it's a real simple question is it okay or not okay to supersede the the constitution in the interest of public safety yesterday we talked a lot about Andrew Warren the state attorney and Chad Chronister the sheriff of Hillsborough County and we talked about the fact that they arrested the pastor who defied public US safety orders and still had services we are guaranteed freedom of assembly and freedom of religion in the first amendment the most important amendment of the United States constitution as a libertarian I want minimal government interference in our lives Rodney Howard Browne didn't force anybody into that church you might think I'm changing my opinion I'm not I'm merely illustrating how there can be another way of looking at this I'm still okay with him getting arrested I think Rodney Howard Browne provided a venue where people willingly showed up to worship right so then aren't we circumventing one of the most important amendments in the interest of public safety is that okay but I would say yes I would say yes because it's not just when it when it becomes not just about you like if the thought was if you go to church you die and then they still go to church that's ultimately on them but you go to church you killed my dad you kill my gramma you killed my friend you know it's it's just it when it's becomes bigger than everybody else and just like with any law a lot of them are in place to protect people so it's it's not even about you it's about what you were going to do to other people correct and and that is where most people are okay with saying that public safety is more important than the first amendment but the first amendment is what makes us America and that's where I'm having an internal conflict about it because look I think this guy's a piece of crap I think this put this pastor is a self serving egotistical blowhard but he still entitled to first amendment freedoms or is he seven two seven five seven nine one oh two five and eight hundred seven seven one one oh two five okay or not okay to say the public safety is more important than the first amendment it and then don't forget we got this this guy Jonathan Shuttlesworth who's coming out today I've got the idea when you're ready for it who says he's gonna he's gonna take what this guy did locally in Tampa a crank it all the way up for the nation to come together see this is really really hard to stomach will play than a second to grab a live who are you I am Ali Hey Holly what's up I'm not trying to have a normal day Michael what are normal days anymore I'm not sure I I don't know how it's very strange yeah but I don't think you need to be discussed defense attorney first of all no I wouldn't look I'm not defending this **** I I I can't stand his elk I can't stand what he's doing but at the same time I am a rigid and staunch defender of the first amendment and as such that means I have to be okay with the KKK rally and that means I have to be okay with an idiot pastor who wants to put the public at risk by having services even when they tell him he can't or does it mean that I don't know are you okay with that or not I guess I'm okay with it because everyone makes their own choices people willingly went there to do this and to be close to everyone when they're not supposed to be that's a number I mean he provided a place for that to happen so maybe that is not okay right but what John said rings true in that yes he they're putting their own lives at risk but when they leave and they go to Publix or they leave and they go anywhere they're putting mine my life at risk by mom's life at risk by dad's life at risk it's not just about them yeah yeah but that's an individual choice that they're making it's not hit earth not his choice it is holding the service there yeah he's yeah it's encouraged right if he didn't have the service there then they wouldn't be there and we also can't ignore the relationship in the dynamic of who you know what's happening in this religious you know world as you have the leader of the church and his followers you know his parishioners you know the flock is is following their shepherd so I just feel under the guise of religion that person does have more power than the average scenario it's a little different than me just saying two four hundred of my closest friends Hey come on over today we're gonna have a good old time it's come over and praise the lord the lord wants you here I want you here yeah and that has a little more power behind it yet right or wrong like I'm speaking to you on behalf of the lord yeah and by the way that we do see you as a god and I would totally show up wherever you told me to show up yeah okay total all right cool but thank you Holly I appreciate it very much good dialogue and help you stay real safe okay thank you dear bye guys thank you seven two seven five seven nine one oh two five eight hundred seven seven one one two two five two double live near you good afternoon my name's Daniel Hey Daniel it's about okay R. I am totally okay without him being arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law I think when it comes to matters of national security public health of the United States we cannot take any chances especially this is pretty much a disaster situation now so right I think does safety public health and safety of the nation's supersede his right to assemble and I've also seen several of these pastors still telling there were the followers worshippers whatever's to come and give a donation despite the fact that you are unemployed now right I mean I'm not a subjective now but I kind of like have a really poor opinion of a lot of those churches the mega churches yeah I think the reason and it's been said that the reason that they're doing this is because you can shake more money out of people if you do it in person as opposed to an online service you know they don't feel that pressure which if that's the case if that's your motivation then I'm sorry but there's no god that should be okay with that one man thank you what's this dude's name Jesus Shuttleworth or whatever Jonathan Jonathan Shuttlesworth is his name and he he wants to do you want to do big things I guess is a pretty popular evangelical guy think hoses on radio show as well all right let's let's hear what he's got to say about it because this guy's not only doubling down this guy's going to Jim Jones route yeah this is this is wild in a play right now I wanna know what we're going to hold an outdoor Easter blow out service not online a national gathering in come from all over like Woodstock we're going to gather a lift up Jesus Christ I'm not ashamed that Dr Rodney got arrested what a shame that when they wanted to arrest preachers Rapin church an entire state there was only one to come for so he's gonna have a Jesus Woodstock I gotta tell it stopped me well not to take it in another like weird religious way but it's somebody who tries to believe a certain amount of things myself this guy's feels like the devil this will like like if you're a true Christian you look at that that's going to bring thousands of people into a field to catch an infectious disease and then take it back home that doesn't sound good how is like that is the you know the sheep and the wolf in sheep's clothing if I've ever seen it it sure is right now I'm here to say I got the constitution that says Dr several call your mom should be raised the sale the man I'm going to want without it the place Hey twenty twenty the voice.

"Orlando's news and talk sure if you want to be honest we should carry that live I think we should run snippets I think we should do it afterwards how can I get pregnant points to the American people because he's never ever going to tell you the truth I guess what it's gonna do if you ask a question that is a legitimate question he and if he doesn't like the question he's going to say whether it's whether you're being mean or not or whatever you want to call he's gonna say that is a mean and nasty question why because he wants his base to think that the media is being mean to him and they're attacking him it is all a plot it is all orchestrated and if you can't see it I don't know I don't know what you're looking at yeah well that's dominant I mean it this is information that people are wanting to now right how was it they keep saying that it's he's just he's he's up there just give me one for he's the president still now if he didn't go out there because the blue checks we're having a fit about it him going other than they would but he wasn't out there because that's what they were doing before he started doing this more I just give me yet that the your you have these companies are stepping up and they are making some of the some of the not because some of them were just giving a portion of it away and you want the public to hear from the people who are manufacturing us who are telling you because of trump just tells you they're gonna say that flies that just you know they have every single time he's open his mouth but I got so I'm beyond the I got so mad about that story when they were going at these small businesses all these blue check there's a story began last akam SI doctors the nurses we can't have more face masks three because the blue tax they don't think that Mike Lindell is cool you think anyone of these people would decline a facemask if they got the credit card for someone who is sick no do you think it would matter to them if it was on my pillow facemask or whoever else the face mask you know I just so it's just so ridiculous all the stuff is just it's ridiculous the other thing that I wanted to bring up where I want to talk about Joe Biden's podcast too because it's a mass I try to listen to some of it we have to have a serious conversation about civil liberties because some of these people are gone way too far now look I'm glad the president is not issuing a national mandate for everyone to sit the hell at home Virginia governor Ralph Northam had everyone stayed home to what June tenth yeah that's stupid you cannot should make people stand our houses and only go out for you know certain that just only for groceries or medicine at some point and I understand that we're all like flattening the curve and all that stuff but what about some of the other suggestions out there will those vulnerable have them quarantined of it in the place of the house or wherever and so that people can start I mean it's there's these are some of those suggestions that people have floated they are the president addressed us and the I'm sorry I just there's another song by this to look out my eye I guess on may twelfth he addressed this in the press conference a yesterday listened it's so bad for the economy but the economy is number two on my list first I want to save a lot of lives we get the economy back I think the economy is going to come back very fast I think it will too but I also think I I like the idea of voluntarily choosing to stay home so I don't get sick or have anybody or expose you know if we ever had it together and you know make anybody else sick but despite like for Ralph Northam a stay home order until June tenth this is this is there a thousand and twenty cases twenty five deaths I think that's extreme that goes beyond even federal the federal wreck recommendation of April thirtieth that's just that's that's extreme and then they and then they give you no other information okay yeah I give that a try but he is hopeful yesterday I was yesterday I was out of Virginia obviously yesterday I was jogging and all the alerts like the amber alert noise that comes on your phone and it showed up while I was running everybody stand the phone and it said don't leave till June tenth and everybody was looking at each other it was bizarre so you were out that's a good omen yeah I was going for welfare and for run listen to music on headphones and it stopped it had like the amber alert noise annoys the jargon and you look up and all these other people are looking at the fun getting older looking at each other yes Virginia right I mean you so what what does that mean for you how I mean June tenth I thought he should have just made it like a month and then we'll we'll cross that bridge when we come to it I don't know why I had to go that far to overcompensate why don't you just evaluate details as they show up that's I don't know yeah that seems like too and they and they have some of the I mean it's still two thousand some odd twenty cases but that we're not even top ten I have no idea why did that it's just yeah it's it's to me that's that's that's weird and I think that he's I think he's gone way beyond his ability honestly I I do then I wanted to get into this story a daily caller has a Florida sheriff issued an arrest warrant for a pastor who refused to cancel services it is it's a Tampa megachurch and they would not close its doors despite a safer at home order in effect in Hillsborough County pastor Rodney Howard Browne is a Sunday service so he turned himself in yesterday after sheriff Chad Chronister and state attorney Andrew Warren announced an arrest warrant has been issued for charges of unlawful some assembly first off that's B. S. unlawful assembly is B. S. I don't care stop look folks I get it everyone wants to be safe but if you think also that we can go ahead and suspend constitutional rights even if you are voluntarily staying home yourself and you think that what they're doing is stupid you gotta draw the line somewhere you got two guys it's not a comfortable conversation Abbas sitting here telling someone that that's unlawful assembly is bull that's cool so they and violating a public health emergency rolls on isolation quarantine he posted five under body was released forty minutes later they had it's the river Tampa Bay church and they're trying to speak to him on two separate occasions about the gathering and about what that was doing in terms of infection rates apparently the command staff went to east temperatures they were told by church leaders and legal staff that brown that Howard brown would not see them and he refused to cancel the services so that SharePoint Ansett is reckless disregard for human life but hundreds of people in his congregation arrest and thousands of residents who may interact with them this week according to fox five they said that you know you have technology you can stream services over the internet and he's there to share stress that the war was not an attack on religious freedom and noted that there are other Tampa Bay churches that are following the social distancing guidelines set by the CDC he said he's not concerned whether or not this this may have spread following the services and he said I was appalled I was afraid that these individuals were thinking that they were doing the right thing and he actually said this this is what the state attorney said I don't know this pastor I don't know M. I'm gonna be honest I think it's kind of stupid I mean you can't I get it you know that big I I we still have our church services I still watch church I make sure I tied in I really like and I think my pastor's pretty logical in the middle of my Twitter feed sometime but he says he's correct I think this is this is I don't he don't seem like somebody I that I would listen to I don't know the man so I'm just you know if an immediate you know reaction however this quote here this is the quote that got me Sir stated to is the state attorney who said quote I think it's unfortunate that the pastor here is hiding behind the first amendment well we have a right one it's absolutely clear that emergency orders like this are constitutional invalid secondly leaders are faith based community across the country have embraced this importance of social distancing okay I don't give a damn what other people have embraced really don't care the idea that you can hide behind the the first amendment is kind of ridiculous that that's that's just a weird statement that's a weird statement about it was there for legal purposes that's what the first minute there's certain things that can happen during a time of crisis in a pandemic you know I mean I know a lot about gun law but here's what I understand I mean I know that for certain things that you can do but the singer said that someone hiding behind the first amendment and they said the church did not comply I know they said that when they were discussing as his attorneys that we comply with the administrative order regarding six foot distancing and it went above and beyond and liberty counsel who maintains the church had hand sanitizer and all of the staff and they said it's discriminatory and it's being unconstitutionally applied to the church so I don't all I know is that you there's there's a pastor who's been I don't care if it's a pastor I don't care if it's that serious synagogue I don't care if it's at a temple I don't care where it is if it's at a I don't care Muslim Christian Jewish I don't care your eight it sounds to me like what the pastor was doing and what the church was doing they were incorporating all of the CDC guidelines about the distancing and they had a another entity they're monitoring that for them and they said that they enforce the role and they sanitize the facility the I mean this is the the the sheriff is is pretty hardcore obviously they're gonna fight this in court I don't like the phrase unlawful assembly I don't like that the state attorney used it I don't like that it was discussed by the sheriff I.

"M. Tampa Bay and we're joined now by Hillsborough County sheriff Chad Chronister who've got a lot of air time all across the nation last night that I saw him on fox news nationally and sure if you got a lot of exposure after arresting the pastor for violating the safer at home order by holding a church service yeah extremely busy day and I tell you what shame on them for making us do our job you know we've gave them repeated warnings he even police even met with them in person starting Friday into Sunday Sunday afternoon encouraging him to the to do everything he could to stop meeting in person and and and asking his parishioners to meet in person knowing that those four five hundred individuals are only put in each other's lives in jeopardy but how about the countless lives that they're jeopardizing as they return to the neighborhoods where they live I'm wondering why his flock was willing to do that it seems like they would have put a stop to that said pastor we're not going to get into a confined quarters like that where we can't be the six feet apart I think it goes back to face you know one of pastor says something they they listen they're loyal they're dedicated to you know they they get their everything they need that that that nourishment from the faith after getting by worshipping and and I I I get that I guess that's why he is the person that's held responsible he's the only person act that could have stopped this so today you're going to be addressing the media share cross stir on the latest in the cold case of Jack Donald Lewis and for those of you who don't know that is all the talk right now with everyone staying at home watching Netflix's tiger king and Jack del Lewis he he's been missing since nineteen ninety seven no arrests have been made in the case but his wife former wife Carole Baskin who's the owner of Tampa's big cat rescue she's part of the documentary series and there are some questions surrounding it you're going to be making an announcement today can you give us any insight on what that's going to be about yeah that's only that we opened it up I mean it's always been open but that we have a dedicated detectives to look into all the new leads that are coming in and I guess Hey this is a good partner some people are staying at home you know I never watch in this series and and it's turned into a phenomenon here across the entire country so so it's a great day that is generating some leaves work at about six leave today now we haven't had any that are credible leads most are just Hey we know who did it we think she did it but you know there's no evidence even a point at the point that direction so this is just us announcing Hey listen we're taking every lead seriously you know please we we encourage you to to to reach out to us I don't know if you watch the documentary but throughout their six dreamily complicated it's extremely convoluted and it was almost I hate to use the word call but you had to pledge your allegiance do these different people that own these cat rescues are around the country and so there were some people that changed her story even down to the to the will worse some people believe that the the will was forged and I could tell you what I don't feel comfortable that it wasn't how many of us have a Wilder says if I'm kidnapped or disappear give my money to this person yeah yes no it's it's it it's extremely interesting I finished it yesterday sheriff I finished it last night and I'm trying to think and I'm assuming you've seen this series as well you know with the questions remaining here like the DNA if you guys were to be able to go in it could that DNA just could that be forensically could that be washed away after twenty years I don't know how that works well the good part is is we we his his kids were extremely cooperative and we do have their DNA so we're confident that if he shows up anywhere you know it's in this world wide database that will be able to identify him but again I have to say what we have to remember we didn't have that type of technology back then were we had GPS and cell phones and a lot of other tools that we use these days to to try to solve cases sh one other thing here is in Washington DC mayor Bowser is threatening residents up there this is just residents with ninety days in jail and a five thousand dollar fine if they leave their homes during the corona virus outbreak and this is this is alarming residents and obviously civil libertarians up there with the reason they're concerned is because the jails are a great place to pick up the corona virus now it seems but what are you contemplating down here to try to get people to stay in their homes okay what I have to begin by saying thank you how how I applaud our community because I went out on patrol Friday night before the order safer home order went into effect and and people are out and about they are but they're in drive throughs getting their food they're going to get those essential need needs whatever it may be that that they require but there's no place to go everything's closed and I say what their there's so many people not only Tampa in the Tampa Bay area but across the country that are sacrificing so much just for an opportunity to return to our normal life and I think that's what that's what makes this that that makes me so I rate is when you have individuals who are taken that individual responsibility the distance themselves again that one thing that we know that works and all it's doing is in pro pro longing this for and kicking the can down the road when we can all go back to some type of normalcy sheriff really quick before we go I have to ask are you a fan of Joe exotics music in the tiger can documentary I tell you what I watched it with my my son and my wife and and I enjoyed the documentary and you know they can they can conduct they can always spend it for entertainment purposes but I tell you what his life was no less convoluted in the entire series you know Fuhrman shady business dealings down in Costa Rica having a girlfriend down there to the wheel and a different thing I tell you what it even in it even interviewing the people interview could have two people that were security guards both at the same date and once that I haven't seen him in six months and the next person that says yeah we saw him last week I mean it's just bad at every turn there's another obstacle it is no less convoluted and complex and then the entire series that we watched Welch no where is literally loses we'll stay in touch with you sheriff as this thing goes on and you've got such a big stake in it here and in the meantime we'll catch on fox news next time thanks for being with us this morning share of promised her absolutely stay healthy everyone stay safe all right it's eight twenty nine on A. M. Tampa Bay the truth and this is a Sean Hannity morning minute if the travel ban had not been put in place followed by the quarantine put in place followed by extending out the travel ban quarantines as the president did even through western Europe you don't have to be a genius to figure out how many likely what tens of thousands of Americans would have contracted the disease but for that one action and then I guess you could measure out mathematically or exponentially how many lives could have been saved now if this becomes standard and you're not going to help people say it's in a public in hysteria and fear mongering that would mean that the new paradigm shift has occurred and that would mean that travel bans will become probably almost automatically if there's a sense that there might be a pandemic the same with Lawrence and you on the straight path later today and be sure Hey Sean Hannity here now let's take a quick break to talk about grass you got a yard to cut you need to try hustler turf zero turn lawnmower of these mowers are engineered to outperform their test that they're put through the ringer and then tested so more insuring the durability in the harshest conditions how many people actually dread mowing the grass don't be one of those people get a hustler today how to find a retailer near you just got a hustler turf dot com or just dial.

"Meaning to talk about for a while since I brought up mayor caster looking like she was in a hostage video a month ago and when we're off the air just now you guys brought up sheriff Chad Chronister what what was the problem with his TV hit what is the best angle I've ever seen it was a little low down time set up it was a home set up yeah say looks like I don't know who's weird lighting or if his walls are painted yellow either way okay not great yes is what we're seeing because you have all these anchors and reporters in any of the politicians they're all doing these home hit the now on zoom you can do any background that you want you can do like a green screen background like I wanna be at like Disney world in the background of my head really you can like what what am I a fan we used to play teams okay scape type whatever where did it come from is it is it new because I'd never heard of it before this corona virus outbreak in now that's all I hear about it soon I had heard about teams either but here we are utilizing all of this new technology I suppose it's been around but I'm sure you didn't need to use it unless you were a company where multiple people were teleworking calcular business Iran this downloads zoom I think I don't know I think so though his wife is doing a Bible study on zoom tonight she told me but I hadn't heard about until like all this started and but they get Hillsborough County like they're doing a lot of their the virtual teaching on them okay so it's kind of like I think more for regular people not like Microsoft teams I think is for us but ceilings are somebody on fox thirteen right now who was just doing a home hit and I don't understand that angle means anything like that I don't get the angles some of these people you sometimes you've got these these reporters or analysts and they're on national cable news and it's like a white wall and a door behind them it's like you couldn't find a better angle a better spot something you're supposed to have when you do these days you're supposed to have you're supposed to have like a couple of pictures behind you bookshelf what you're suppose out books lots of books that's boring other things that look good I don't know I will let you know I want like pictures of myself in the background like glamour shots of me my TV will be on playing tiger King music videos in the background of my life that that's not a horrible they need to fax thirteen keeps moving off of the sky so quick they need to just keep mine so we can analyze this camera angle and what what he's doing there with this live hit it's been fascinating because all of a sudden you're inside the homes yeah that's not a terrible one but it's a weird angle it's weird Hey look like you're looking down you gotta be right I love it and that's you know that's a big question because this morning we had to do our Microsoft team saying I put mine up on my computer stand and then put some put a book underneath it okay Ryan in our in our company wide group chat decided not to use the video feature yeah I know I need well the audio feature for that matter you were muted yeah ask your question and you didn't answer is that right I mean yeah I've got this I've got this little thing that covers my camera so okay all my god within you and I talked the other night about how you could set it up where on your TV put like a logo in your TV three outer you can do that but then like one of the guy no open New York is whether guy for New York one he did the same things in his apartment okay weather updated logo in yeah that's that's pretty good that's that's decent it's been fascinating to you see the homes of these people like where they live yes and we have nothing to do all weekend we can all set up like water back up would be if we had to be on local television for one of these live hits and take a picture in front of it it's a good idea what happens with nothing to DO you think of that I have right now is that warranty come on set it up pretend like you're about to do one and then we'll have people vote on who's is faster to probably be fine I don't know if I can pull off a good set up yeah come on all right we we've actually got we've actually got like really old news to talk about at some point tonight aside from that coming up I want to get to you you've got a couple updates that you need to yes so you got some information you need to give out we're gonna have the Hillsborough County state attorney Andrew Warren on it a bit I do want to touch a little bit on the coronavirus relief package that was passed in the house signed by the president that has now gone into effect also the president has put the defense production act into a fact finally so we'll talk a little bit about that what what's that like the big headline that you've covered today well today here in Tampa Bay area we talked to the American ask her about the safer at home order going into effect I mention the parts but also the boat ramps in Hillsboro countercultural well so okay they are yeah so that's been a problem in the ties into a news story about the governor who's now targeting the both parties in a going on so people is really got his eye on the ball at first all the beaches you know that was a big kerfuffle with spring breakers and all sorts out they shut down the beaches last weekend mmhm so then I was following some other stories about where they were looking F. W. C. was looking for problem areas while manatee county they yet they kept their boat ramps open initially some people go fishing yeah well guess what everyone was watching Vonn bears going to beer can island beer can island was packed all last weekend so they shut down their boat ramps that everyone was going to the hotel pools with product and quality I say get all pools are off limits so how today FWC apparently alerted the governor about the people going out into the water ways tying all the boats together and having B. both parties whether what about about C. Ronette man this is why we can't have nice things because there really is no reason that a family or a couple couldn't go out on the boat for a little bit but now because people gotta take advantage and they gotta do these parties now they've ruined it for everybody so you don't have to be seed to create an order where they can enforce a social distancing yeah in those big group some cannot live in fort Lauderdale that was common right on one of the river from bars I used to go to where everyone's either both together and you just go boat hopping but this is not the time for that exactly I did get an email earlier from somebody who who said today share crimes are posted the boaters are free to go out on the water this weekend as long as there are ten people or less on a boat is that true that yeah that was the officer involved speaking about up tomorrow the reserve that searches the boat ramps they're closing them in Hillsborough and manatee another closer analysis okay and then and then there's person asked how is it triple to a boat ramp or boat ride essential travel will be this is in a situation in Hillsborough or Pinellas words only a century right essential people going to work or anything like that B. that's not how this safer at home water works John essential can be opened yeah they're drafted social then writing which you could do on a boat yeah and and you just have local officials asking you don't don't get it right you don't and and don't go out if you don't have to write at this point all right coming up next on south Hillsborough County state.

"And we're still talking about the corona virus of course and joining us right now is Hillsborough County sheriff Chad Chronister and sheriff I know that your organization the sheriff's office is taking steps to employ a lot of people your own employees in jail inmates and of course the people of Hillsborough County and tell us what's being done absolutely as you can imagine it's it's it's been a busy time but you could you imagine a world or a day where you pick up the phone and need help but everyone at the Hillsborough County sheriff's office is sick or infected they can't respond no you know we've been trying to be as we're trying to be proactive as we can to keep our employees healthy and at same time taken precautionary measures to make sure the public we deal with this as healthy as well so we stopped have a roll call now our own our own ports but shied we're taking a lot more calls for service over the phone and electronically and if we do respond the call were asking for individuals to meet us outside our meetings are open areas so it's not it's not so confined in and then a lot of people forget about the thirty five hundred jail inmate population that that we have to keep safe that's just not from physical harm so welcome the national prison association sent out a note so visitation order it doesn't really affect us so many families that are listening you know have some peace of mind knowing that ours is old video visitation so what we're doing is just clean an area sanitize in that area much more frequently but you can still come talk to your your loved one in for free you can even do it from your own your own home computer unfortunately sheriff we see things like when a hurricane happens when things shut down unfortunately the worst people some of them will make their way out and do some pretty bad things how are you preparing for if that does happen if restaurants bars everything shuts down and everything's closed because we're quarantine are you prepared to for further steps taken when that does occur if that does occur we are we've already has suspended any nonessential personnel assignments so say if people are in Bayern mental divorce men are doing undercover work on some different capacities our school resource deputies are now out of school there are out on patrol so I think I think there's a lot of comfort with this over presents we have but at the same time servers that deterrent and and thank god for bid I I hate those individuals who want to take advantage of of people in their most dire need but we'll be there to enforce that as well yeah this is going to be a pretty busy time for you and again you're looking at protecting the inmates as well as the importance of keeping your own people healthy because that would be a heck of a situation not to have law enforcement people out there when you're going to be needed and probably even more so than usual and I've had the I've had to shut the jail down essentially from outside visitors our educators are faith based leaders that wanted to go and I just can't risk it right now one person getting sick in the fact that everyone else but we have a phenomenal service that's coming in and sanitizing it kills all viruses from the ninety days the hand sanitizer that we are able to purchase firm ploys puts a Berrier on their hands for four hours you know they have masking and gallons and and I protection so we we've given them as much as we can to try to try to keep them healthy and try to discourage any any type of travel at this point well I know you're working hard to make sure we can continue to get the protection we've always had in from our Hillsborough County deputies out there and sheriff we appreciate your joining us on A.
