Chad Robichaux on How Trump Would Have Managed Afghanistan

"Chad, you were making the point, which I think is very important that there was an opportunity for the United States and Afghanistan to make a transition from an initial direct involvement to essentially a modified Reagan doctrine where the Afghans take the lead and the international community supports them. But that was mismanaged and as a result, you got the war weariness, in which people were choosing between two extreme options. Either were fully in there or were fully out of there. And then we got this disastrous Biden evacuation. Would you agree that if it had been Trump in charge he would have evacuated, but not in the inept way that Biden did? Yeah, you know, we had 4000 troops in Afghanistan during the evacuation. At president Trump's tenure he had 2500 troops. I really go in there. He's in here and show how oral he's really change our trajectory of a U.S. deaths and injuries and really change the scope of the battlefield, but I believe professor Trump would have that said on withdrawing. I don't agree with them. He kept him negotiated with Taliban, but I do believe he would have not given that bachelorette force base over to the Taliban. I believe he'll hand it over to international community. And I think we would have still participated in support adviser role there, and to say we had 2500 troops in Afghanistan. We have that in Djibouti. We have that all over the world right now. And so it was really just, it was inappropriately presented to the American people. We have these, we had that level of contingency all over the world.

Chad Robichaux on His Group’s Amazing Rescue Operation in Afghanistan

"A child, Soviets leave Afghanistan. There's a kind of internecine struggle that Taliban emerge as the leader. And the Taliban is operating in the name of Islam. But they don't have the support of the whole country. And it seems clear that there were a lot of Muslims who resisted and even to now are against the Taliban. Talk a little bit about because some people think, well, you know, Islam is the enemy, the Muslims are all kind of cut from the same cloth. Talk a little bit about what you discovered on the ground about different types of Muslims in Afghanistan. I believed this too, frankly, moving in this. And so I was received a really on the ground education of it and is seeing how these people and as he's the best example I know, I remember being in a car with them and he's driving and he's a young Muslim guy and he's talking about a freedom in democracy that note he's never even seen before, never witnessed before, but he's talking about willing to die for it and fight for it. So his future daughters would be free. So they would be subject to this Taliban ideology. And they wouldn't be able to have education and not be forced to be married to sexually enslaved. And I remember just being so blown away because I'd never heard an American speak about freedom and liberty and democracy that way. And I realized how naive we could be here at home. And he was willing to die for it. And that really took me back and I realized that wasn't just him. There was so many Afghan Muslims for many years that were willing to fight against this erratic wide ideology that a Taliban was to truly oppress people for money for power and really wrinkly when it came down to it for a sexual power over the women of Afghanistan.

Mighty Oaks Foundation's Chad Robichaux on New Book, 'Saving Aziz'

"Is brand new, saving Aziz. How the mission to help one became a calling for thousands to rescue thousands from the Taliban. Okay, most people listening don't know anything about this. What is the story? Well, the story is President Biden made the announcement immediately after he took office. He was going to do a full withdrawal of the United States military from the 20 year occupation of Afghanistan. I immediately had a problem with that and I think anybody understands the military did. A lot of your listeners may not agree with me at first, but if you hear me out, we should never have withdrew from Afghanistan. I'm not a warmonger. My family's been at war for a long time. If we get void war, we don't want to be there. But saying that the military had been a 20 year war and it was endless war is just not true. We had in 2018, we shifted from a conventional kinetic war with that Taliban and shifted to supporting advisory role with the Afghan national army and Afghan national police, participating with the entire international community to fight the Taliban in the mountains of Afghanistan and not in the west, not here in America. And it was working. This is the most strategic place in the globe between Iraq, Iran Russia and China, and it wasn't ours to give up. It belonged to the international community. It blowing to the Afghan government that we spent 20 years putting in place. And we didn't negotiate with our NATO partners. The international community or the Afghan government, we only negotiate the Taliban and we gave that country up to our enemies, not just the Taliban, but China, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, ISI. And so I knew that was going to be catastrophic for national security and global security, but also knew that it would be catastrophic for our allies. And once they one more thing in that though, but when I say that we should have stayed there, historically, if you look at the history of how United States have been successful, a post war, we keep contingent forces in different areas strategically to prevent us from going back to war. Germany, we still have 40,000 troops since World War II. Japan, we have 80,000 troops since World War II in South Korea. We still have 35,000 troops since the Korea war. That strategy has worked for us, so do a full and complete withdrawal without leaving that only 2500 troops in a small contingent force in Afghanistan was a catastrophic era and I

There Are Good Guys Like Chad Robichaux in This World

"Folks. Final segment with Chad robicheaux. Let me spell that. Are BI, CH, AUX. The book is saving Aziz how the mission helped one became a calling the rescue thousands from the Taliban. The fact that you put this into a book is really important because people need to know what is happening in the world in the United States of America and they need to know about people like you, Chad, because I think a lot of people are cynical. They don't think that there are any good guys out there. They don't think there's anybody who's willing to risk their life for what is right and good and true. And we're all called to live like that. And so you're an inspiration and this story is an inspiration and it just blesses me so deeply. There's not much I can do. I can have you on this program, hopefully people who are listening want to help out mighty oaks want to buy the book for their friends because part of the joy is that we still get to talk about the truth in America. We have the freedom to do some things. Some of it is really crazy, like what you did, which is amazing, but just to buy a book, to write a check, to tell a story, to say, no, that's wrong. This is what happened. We have that freedom. We need to use that freedom. I agree. With everything. The great thing about this book is it bugs me at first, but it actually makes me happy. Is this book went to The Pentagon? And it was reviewed for 5 months. They held up for 5 months. And I was bugged by that. But then the things they were adopted, I left marked, so they marked in black so the American people could see, what was redacted and that information was withheld from them. Some of his classified and I agree, some of it, I believe, was political, but nonetheless, what's left in there for you to read, you know that is true.

Chad Robichaux Tells Us About His Military Background

"Your military background, you were in special ops. If somebody says, okay, what does that mean? Where were you in the special ops world? How do you talk about what do you say? Well, come from a long history of military folks. My family, my family started in World War II, 84 years of service. So World War II, Korea, my father was our first marine, served in Vietnam as infantrymen, and then I was a marine did 8 diplomat Afghanistan and both my sons were marines. One on what to Afghanistan as well. And in fact, one of them is on our international mission in Ukraine right now as a veteran. I was a force recon marine, which is one of the Marine Corps, one of the two of the Marine Corps special operations units. They have both recon and marsoc, force recon is like the more premier recon unit. And then I had an opportunity to try out for what's called a jsoc task force, joint special operations command task force. The Marine Corps does not have a jsoc contingent, but they allow marines to go try out for either the armies or navies jsoc unit and go participate in representing the Marine Corps there. So I was very privileged in 2003. I tried out for the jsoc unit and went over to the navy and which is their premier special operations unit in the world, I believe. And I got the opportunity to be one of 6 force recon marines at the time to represent the Marine Corps and serve at that unit for a period of four years and 8 deployments

Chad Robichaux Continues His Conversation About 'Saving Aziz'

"Hear what you did, Chad, you put yourself out there and your team put yourself out there. No one can ever thank you enough for doing enough. I mean, this is heroic stuff and I'm just, I just feel honored to know that people like you exist in the world, much less I get to talk to you. But you were successful in saving Aziz and you ended up saving thousands from the Taliban, let's talk about that. I mean, you put yourself out there. You knew you're risking your own life. I want to say this, ladies and gentlemen, there are people risking their lives, you weren't even involved in the military at this point. You're doing this on your own. You're saying I just want to do this to save my Friends. It just felt, I mean, one, I say, like I said earlier, guy burned no hearts. It was the right thing to do. We had to capability and always believe that if you have the ability to do something and it's the right thing, then you have to act and do it. And we had the ability. We had and got open those doors for us. And you know, you start looking at things that kind of look at everything. Well, if the door closes, then maybe I'm not supposed to, but these doors just swung open for us. And one of those was, like I said, as the military was leaving, and there was a full withdrawal, now America is not in Afghanistan anymore. We had the ability of civilians to stay. And again, The White House was saying there was a hundred Americans there. We were saying there were thousands. The White House saying they didn't want to they didn't want to evacuate. They didn't want to go to the Taliban, and show their blue passport. They were killing people in the streets. Why would they show their blue passport there? But the truth is it didn't matter if there was a hundred or a thousand. One American left behind is not okay.

"That you were into mixed martial arts, like you were a champion, what level champion. I mean, when you say when people talk about mixed martial arts, I'm already frightened. I'm frightened folks. Don't gouge my eye out, please. But seriously. When did you get involved in that? And what was your greatest title as mixed martial arts champion? Well, I started martial arts when I was 5 years old. I have pretty rough upbringing and my grandmother brought me to have a kind of positive influence in my life. And so I always from a young age is starting to grappling based martial arts, wrestling, judo, traditional jiu-jitsu, in 1995, I was introduced to Brazilian jiu-jitsu which became my kind of core martial arts, mixed it with wrestling and boxing, and in 1997 I did my first amateur MMA fight, not really looking to be an MMA fighter, just wanted to compete and represent the martial arts that I trained in. And in 1999, I turned professional. I did it on a side while I was in the military. My military unit and special operations leverage that I ran a lot of martial arts programs for my force recon units. And then through that time of 1999, till my last fight, I think, was in 2000 and 15. I did 20 professional fights, a master record of 18 and two. I won a world title, not the look one, a world title, not the local neighborhood title. I wouldn't have my neighborhood to be MMA MMA world title. I mean, what was the title this one? So when the legacy of fighting championships title, I fought for the Bellator championships belt. I lost my first loss, which was at the time that was the second biggest show in the world. The highest ranking I had was I was ranked, I was ranked number 6 in the world

"Let's just go back. You made a decision that if the government is going to leave people to suffer and die, you are going to put together your own team of people to see what you can do. So you put together your team of special forces guys and what happens? I mean, are you in contact with Aziz during this period? Yeah, absolutely. I'm talking as easy as we're trying to make sure he's moving to safety. They stay safe. While we're working to get move forward. But when I talked earlier before the break about a miracle happening, there were several advance that happened that if any one of them did not happen or a door was closed, this whole thing wouldn't have taken place. And each one of those would have been an impossibility. The first of which was several calling the joint chiefs and asking for permission for us as severe an NGO to go onto the H Chi airport, a DoD controlled airport, land aircraft, go outside the wire, evacuate civilians, put them back, put them back in that airport. That's an impossibility. For anyone around the military. Yeah, you can understand that they're going to say, sorry, no. You can't do that. You're telling me they said yes. For some reason, they said yes. Which is a miracle. And then secondly, now we have to figure out how to move them. I mean, you can't just put them on a plane and fly to the United States. I'm not the State Department. And you can't bring someone without a Visa to another country. That's human trafficking. And you can only do that and Laura, Texas. But here in the real world, you have to follow the rules. And so we said, where can we bring these people to? And we called the UAE because we had some connections with the royal family there. Talk to them for about an hour. They rolled out the red carpet, said you could use our military center. We're going to put provide doctors and medical care. So when you had connections with the United Arab Emirates and it was because of them that you figured out how we can pull this off. Where we could bring them to, that's right, yeah.

Bart Herbison and Doug Share Stories About Elvis

"And I share a my birthday in his death day. August 16th. August 16th, he died on my birthday. And I told the story the other day on one of the podcasts about my next door neighbor Beatty, who, again, lucky you loved Elvis and everything and she came running across all my birthday party. He's dead, he's dead. He's dead. We thought it was. I mean, I thought of her husband and died and it was Betty talking about Elvis and died. And so, you know, the sharing this. So the last part where they actually showed real video of him in those last concerts where he was bloated. He was there. I mean, some of those actually, those are memories are not memories for me. Those are actually, I saw those concerts. That's all. So it was really, really interesting to just see. Well, one last Elvis plug and a story. Peter go around a controversial author. And he was very controversial when he wrote to John Lennon book and the Elvis book too. There's two Elvis books, careless love, and last train of Memphis. There are over a thousand pages, and they're so thorough. It's like he was in the room, so he tells everything good, bad and different. And I particularly love a lot of the stories he told in the famous RCA studio B across the street from my headquarters. And here's one. I got the privilege of knowing Chad Atkins a little bit. One of my mentors, the late Joe Talbot, took me to launch at a place called I forget what it was mauds down on music grow. It's not there anymore. And chat was there. They had a standing launch every Friday they were in town. I couldn't make this up. He sit there playing his guitar at the table quietly. And I looked at Joe and he goes, that's why he's Chad and he plays everywhere. So Chad is the only major artist I've ever heard of that wanted a closing act. Chet went to bed at 8 o'clock if he could. 8 30, he was a country farmer, got up in the wee hours, three or 4 o'clock in the morning. And so Elvis is showing up late or wants to record at ten, 11, 12 may not show up, sits in their place gospel songs all night, and he can't stay awake at 2 o'clock in the morning. So he calls Elvis's team and RCA and goes, look, I like the kid. And at that time, Nashville did not embrace Elvis. They threw him off the grand Ole opry. They didn't know what he was. But Chet liked him and saw that he was about to change music, but he said, I don't care. 11 o'clock tonight, I don't remember if it was four or 5 songs we do them and we're out.

"Well, I totally agree with you. The problems all stem from us not embracing Jesus Christ. We have stripped him from our schools, as you said. But since COVID, we've stripped him from our life. Don't go to church. Go to church. Don't go to church. Remember at the beginning of COVID, go to church, but don't sing. That was the best one. Well, fly with me because I'm a musician and I'm a vocalist. But on my heart and well, let me on that point, phase. If you don't mind, I'd hate to take your time, but I'm going to respond to something because you just talked about COVID and stripping away faith and going to church. I had a friend, Washington state, Broadway actor, very successful Broadway actor. And he was told by his governor, you can go to church during this COVID era, but you can't sing. And he tweeted a very simple thing. I'm sorry, I respectfully will sing to the lord and make a joyful noise. I'm not going to comply. He got fired from his hit Broadway show. Fired. The rest of the cast felt unsafe. Oh my gosh, Chad Kimball wants to sing in church. He lost his job. He sued them since I don't know what the disposition of the lawsuit is, but that's the reaction from people. How dare you say you want to sing in church? You need to be canceled. Goodbye, God. Goodbye singing. Goodbye church.

The MLK We Didn't Know

"Is Martin Luther King's movement any different than Black Lives Matter movement? Because if you listen, they don't talk about that Martin Luther King pushed Marxism. They don't talk about the fact that Martin Luther King pushed government intervention and government assistance. More so than he did self accountability. And people don't talk about the fact that Martin Luther King didn't write that speech. Nobody talks about that part. People don't talk about the part where Martin Luther King, if you listen to any of his other speeches or any of the other things that he did, it was very different. He hung around people who were known marxists. People who did not believe in what they project that Martin Luther King is saying today. Show me a sermon for Martin Luther King. A lot of what Martin Luther King was was an activist. And again, I'm not trying to bash him. I'm really not. I'm trying to give you a different perspective. Because if you look at Jesse Jackson, show me a sermon from Jesse Jackson. Show me a sermon from reverend Al sharpton. They don't, they don't do sermons. They use the pillars of the black community and influence of having the title reverend to be an activist in the community to have some respect. And they use that in my personal opinion to manipulate and to get in the minds of black people to believe them. And I would argue that the certain people and I would argue the white Marxist leftist liberals Ireland call them liberals that mostly leftists, they are finding and using these black people influence in these black people giving them platforms to push their agenda. Because I'll go on for Martin Luther King. I mean, look at the people who hung around Martin Luther King. And people, you know, I seen the documents and information and I want to have my guy Chad Jackson on here. They give you the full perspective of it because he's a lot more knowledgeable, but I saw the video. I saw the content. Uncle Tom two alludes to a little bit of it. But there's an Uncle Tom three that I hope that they put out. That goes into it. I saw it behind the scenes that goes into everything about Martin Luther King.

OpenAI's Revolutionary Chatbot 'ChatGPT'

"All right, Friends, well, I hope you had a great weekend. However, if you were on Twitter, you probably have already had an entire emotional relationship round trip with chat GPT. Chat GPT is OpenAI's latest natural language interface for its GPT large language model AI system. One of the things that makes Chad GPT different and that has caught people's attention is that it can handle not just data prompts but creative prompts. For example, when I asked write a song about the downfall of FTX in the style of Taylor Swift's anti hero, it spat back a full song, including verse one. FTX was once the hero of the crypto game, but now it seems they've lost their fame. They promise big returns an easy gains, but now they're just a symbol of financial pain. Thanks AI, thanks a lot. Anyway, I actually think the chat GPT is totally deserving of a headliner show. AI is clearly in the realm of big picture power shifts. And just to give a taste over the weekend, people were discussing it in relation to Google search and how disruptive this might be to that. In relation to creative pursuits and whether this would actually replace some amount of human creativity in the context of jobs that require basic writing and a lot of debate around programming and how this might change programming as well. In fact, stack overflow, which is one of the largest Q&A sites for programmers, had to take the step today to temporarily ban users from sharing Chad GPT generated responses. Basically, chat GPT made it too easy to find answers that looked right, but were in fact bullshit. In a statement stack overflow said, the primary problem is that while the answers which chat GPT producers have a high rate of being incorrect, they typically look like they might be good and the answers are very easy to produce. Anyways, I do think there was a real moment this weekend where a lot of folks who hadn't thought all that much about this sort of AI before saw the potential and said, holy crap.

"To come back and talk to you to talk about when we have that journey together. But Rafael, you know, it's time to, I think, wrap it up. And I want to wish you the best of luck. I don't think at the end of the day, most of this is luck. I think it's going to be hard work, which I know you have and talent, which I know you have. And also that I just believe good things happen to good people and you're one of the best people I know. And so, you know, I will be watching and cheering from the sidelines and also I just want to say to all of our listeners and readers, how much it's meant to me for you, especially after I left ESPN to stay on and to keep following and drop down money in a subscription to and be a big board or to become a frequent listener of the podcast. This has actually been a cool opportunity through me through substack to be able to interact with some of you on a more regular basis and one of the cool things that happens over the newsletters. I try to answer every comment we've had Zoom calls together with the community as well and it's been a really cool chance to be able to spend time with other people that really are passionate and love the draft and I've really appreciated all your work and I hope you'll continue to support Raphael. I think he's earned it. He's going to earn it from you and you'll keep listening to the podcast. You'll come over to NBA big board dot com and either get a free subscription or if you're so inclined to paid one to support Rafael and his work and I just see great things coming in the future. Well man, I just thank you and appreciate you. My last question for you is has it hit you? How does it feel? You know, like when you see the players, they play their last game. They have done their farewell tour. How does it feel that you are your retired? Yeah, it's hit me. Really, when I announced it, now I'm gonna tear up. You know, a lot of the times because of the work that nature of the work that I do, like your sources have to be anonymous. And so when I started getting emails and text messages and phone calls and voicemails from the people that I had worked with closely in the NBA, whether those were general managers or coaches or scouts or play regions and even a few players meant a lot to me, that was sort of one of those moments where you've been on this journey with a lot of people and it's hard to say goodbye. And it is. It's probably been actually a little bit harder than I thought to let go, but part of that is because I've still been going strong. I decided I'm not saying I'm going to retire in a month and actually retire now. I've stayed pretty active in scouting and doing stuff now and so it's hard. It's sinking in though. But it's all gratitude. It's all, it's all love. There's no regrets. And I know my family and I are looking forward to having some more some more time together and I'm certainly looking forward to some of these other projects that I'm going to be able to focus and spend attention on. And like I said, I'll keep listening to your podcast and keep following along. Hopefully you'll cut me a subscription to be a big board and I can make that. And again, nothing but the best Rafael. "Have Kyrie for any amount of games. No one's going to feel sorry for the Lakers. That is part of what makes this such a compelling story. Follow locked on today wherever you get podcasts. It's free and available on all platforms. Imagine that. Aloha, you're listening to chat for its NBA big board on the locked on podcast network. It's going to be my last show starting next week. This will be Rafael Barlow's NBA big board. Lots to talk about final four NBA draft, some stroll down memory lane. I want to share a few memories from the NBA draft. It's going to be a great show today. I'm pumped for it to be my last show. Let's roll. I'm Chad Ford. He's Rafael Barlow, soon to be the lead host for Raphael barlows, NBA big board, as well as taking over my NBA big board newsletter at substack, where he's been a contributor and director of scouting for the last couple of months. Raphael, we've been talking about this for a while now. It's finally happening. And I want to kick off the show by letting our listeners know what they can expect from Rafael Barlow's big board podcast and from his substack newsletter going forward. I know you've got a lot of big plans for it. There's going to be some changes and let's kick off the show with what to expect in the future. Well, first of all, thanks again for this opportunity and I've mentioned it before. I just really appreciate everything you've done for me and choosing me. But a lot of it is going to stay the same just going to kind of add against my own flavor to it. So for example, the big board podcast will be at least four days a week, maybe 5, so if you're a listener and you enjoy the podcast, there's going to be more content for you. And then I'll be adding more videos to the website doing video breakdowns and just have some pretty cool projects that I'm looking forward to doing. I think one of them is I shouldn't say I think one of the projects that I plan on doing is kind of like touring some of the facilities where the prospects working out this summer and getting content interviews behind the scenes stuff. So I'm really, really looking forward to it. I think it's going to be great. I think you're the right person to take over this podcast and newsletter. I've said that a couple of times and really ever since I've met you. And I already think the work that you're doing is great. You can actually go over to NBA big board dot com right now and read Rafael Barlow's first big board that he's done for us all 60 prospects. And there's some significant changes from big board 5. Some of that because of what happened during March Madness, some of that just Raphael's differences between him and I and scouting. And you've got a new number one. On big board 6. Paulo banchero, who I've had ranked anywhere from like three to four on my big board. You've got him number one. He makes it all the way to the final four. You think you're sticking with him throughout the throughout the draft now, is he your guy? Is this locked in for you? Yeah, I mean, I've been riding the main Carole bandwagon all season, and he's been my number one. I shouldn't say Austin, but he's been my number one since the end of November. And I thought that he definitely solidified his spot at the top of the list with this play and the NCAA tournament. I mean, he was the last one standing, not send that means everything, but I thought that one of the biggest concerns that people may have had was his outside shooting. And he made ten out of 19 from three. So I probably going to stick with it. I mean, there's no more games to play now. So, unless what I hear see from the workout circuit, but I can't imagine any of the top three guys really doing much working out. So I think he's yeah, that's right. I mean, we're not going to hear much in the way of workouts, there'll be some individual stuff that they may do with two or three teams at the top. But yeah, you know, at this point, it's probably smart to stick with your guy. I'm a jabari Smith guy for the record. That would be my guy for the number one number one pick in the draft, but I think that you're going to see unlike a lot of drafts, a lot of debate between Bon Caro, javari Smith, at holmgren is still in the mix there as well. Jay naive and outside chance, but I think after his implosion in the tournament that that might be a little bit harder get for him, Raphael, I think actually I messed up the lead for this whole podcast now that I'm thinking the most important thing that happened this week was that the Kansas Jayhawks won the national championship, what a retirement gift. I think they did it just for me. What a retirement gift for me to watch the jayhawks win the national championship and a team that I'll be honest that I didn't think was going to be able to pull it off this year and historic second half come back for them. Which was really awesome and it's North Carolina. I'm curious who you thought out of the final four helped their draft stock the most..

You know you have to ask you to take the little swab deal and they can walk you through video instruction and you have to keep your foam paired to the little bluetooth device. It has the state next to it. What were you taking it. I just wanna make sure that. I was fully exposed. The satellites are gonna coming up. Takes a while for them together. All of your full file of me right here so anyway. Swab your no. You have to put it in solution. You have to drop the solution in the other end of the bluetooth device and you have to leave your phone flat on a surface next to the bluetooth device for fifteen minutes. Do you not hard. It is for me to set my phone fifty minutes. You're not supposed to move it or anything like that. It's so anyway long fifteen minutes. And i you know i'm just sitting there. You know. Ask cheek sweating and Got the got the phone. It was negative. It was obviously the responsible thing. But i was anyway. We gotta go break. But i thought you were gonna tell me. The story ended. Yeah this just makes me feel sick in anxious and that was huge. Because now i'm like. I don't really want it anymore. I still have those cravings. That are Give days to get past those. But he's like changed my whole relationship with it so I think it's it's guys if you're looking for a way to quit that stuff. Alan carr the easy way to quit smoking. Check it out. I heard from nikki. Glaser rogan oh cool. Yeah i've heard about it from paul tompkins out really worked for him. Yeah she it For drinking he doesn't fit drinking. Okay and i think she needs to quit smoking too nice. Yeah yeah i was gonna say apply to other things you think are. He has books like everything. I think i think he's drinking Maybe over eating. I think all that all that shit into yeah. Alan carr c. a. r. a. l. a. n. Your voice crack. That's how i know you care. That's always a sign voice cracks. It's legit it's tough though. It's a beast the casino. I'll get like twelve hours vape and then in my mind i'm a that sounds really nice guy and he spent like ten bucks. Buy one ticket. And i throw it away. I'm like this is so ridiculous. I've seen you do that. Rip it open and throw it away so ridiculous fucking oh and another thing too is like the withdrawal that that's a whole thing with like the that the tobacco industry i think helps promote the withdrawal so brutal. It's like the worst. That's what scared me offer me. Because i'm like. Oh it's been scaring me. It's made me reluctant to give it up. Because i don't want to be. I can't suffer right now. Need to get this done or that exactly. And then this is like withdrawal from nicotine is basically nothing and then once you have on your mind or like. Oh it's not. It's all psychological. It's not that bad now. I don't really have any withdrawal symptoms which is like crazy you like. Oh it's all just in my mind. It's cool nice. That's about as aaron. Who's your legendary week legend. The week i mentioned it several times in this podcast is the movie aliens. Wife took the baby out of town for the weekend. That's probably when they picked up this cold. We all have never mind. But when i sat down we washed it in my little movie. Theater at home fucking. It's just it's just a perfect movie minus there's a little brown face in it but other than the one girls like jewish lady actress playing a mexican woman not really tough bennis mexican nebraska's. Yeah other than that when you get past that. It's a perfect movie. I watched the nineteen ninety s Special edition always do. Because it's got a little more footage. That kind of attention a little more. But i mean that last twenty two minutes or something all real time and this planet's about to explode and she's got to save this little girl and defeat the queen alien sir. What's your name. rivoli. Ripley i was gonna say riley. It's super cool. I gotta watch again. It's great jimmy camera. james. Cameron knows what he's doing. My of the week is also movie. That is really good but it might have a tinge of Problem visits birth a nation. Now i'll keep cinematic to my legend. The week is a martin campbell. He's a director. He's done some pretty forgettable action movies. But he's done three golden eye mask of zorro and casino royale to beast and then casino royale strider critique reserve bit too much poker in that movie. I think he's right. There is a little slow at the is in the book though to write the final hand and completely like no handle ever in that way. Yeah right we're gonna flush royal flush four races. It's all sensational now. But do i think what he's the best at is an all three of those movies. And i think three best movies at it. He's the best shooting one guy verse like fifty people action scenes. You know where it's like one guy he's gotta take on like a ton of different people and it's just mowing through minions. He's the best at that. He tracks the action so well he does it in a way where it kinda makes sense. And i don't know. I think i think that's like such a staple of action movies and i think he's the best at doing that so i wanna give him some love. That's awesome. yeah you also did edge of darkness which is good. They'll give somebody that's good okay. I gotta watch that. He did green lantern though that one of the worst movies about cyber due peterson scars head. When he's turning into the bag on his brains. "But i'm gonna keep coming. I'm gonna get you in the three hundred manila going down ali. Those is joe frazier dish dishwasher. Answer some cues yeah blackout fest lately. I've been on a concerning blackout street. I always hear about the things. I do in the morning and usually regret my actions. I try to combat despite drinking beer rather than liquor but always find my way to the lakers and find myself waking up still drunk usually on a hardwood or concrete floor. Stoker's have any suggestions on how to get better at handling my alcohol. I'm about to go to first year. College where i'll be playing football. I feel like football. Players are held to a higher standard and blacking biweekly. Sometimes more often as a bad thing to carry with me into my future endeavors. Thanks fellas keep up the great work and thanks again for answering the q my dog. Thank you for writing in. i think I think it's pretty clear that you are able to sort of. Take your booze immoderation and you're going into college. I think i would. I would designate your party nights in. I wouldn't try to go every weekend because you know if you have something big coming up and you're like i can't get to hammered. I've got like an exam. I gotta game us. I'm just going to have a couple of beers tonight i. I don't think you're the type of person that can handle that And that just the way you know that the way if you have that beast inside of you that just wants to get you know blacked out. I don't think moderation is really an option. So i think i would drink. I would designate the right time to do it. So you don't have too many consequences Because i recognize that myself. I can't i can't i can't control it and i just wanna get blacked out so you know i just do it sparingly. I think you're right. Yeah and specific to the i think chad's that nailed it and then specific to the athlete said. I read that lakers book. And there's guys on the team who kind of fizzle out because they can't get their partying and order. Yeah you know they come to practice and they smell booze and as as you go to college level competitions gonna get higher so you're going to be dealing with guys who are just as as athletic as you but if they're more disciplined they're going to be kicking your ass so a lot of people they choose socializing whatever sport brought them to school. But you seem like really in football. So i'd try and give your all into that and just trying to be disciplined for that. It's good motivation. Yeah if i can be the dad here to like You're going to be a college football player. You're a you're a giant weapon when you're drunk. Yeah actions regret. Yeah yeah. I mean so far. You've only seems like he's only messed himself up by waking up on these floors or whatever but yeah you don't wanna wanna a dude or get to hand with the lady and then be dealing with the next day you someone else is going to feel like shit and you're going to feel shit. So yeah if you can skip that man that that'd be better course totally. Yeah i think i would even venture to say that maybe you should give sobriety a try especially at least during the football season because i think maybe you can't see a now but drinking might be making you more miserable than you than you think. It's hard to. It's hard to tell people that would just going to college. You know if you're if you're if you're writing in about this. I'm sure it gives you a lot more anxiety and probably malays than than and and you're young and you're partying and stuff so when you're going through that you're like oh well i'm party. This is like sort of what. What's i'm supposed to be doing but you know that's not necessarily the case so maybe give it a break and see how you feel because You know the anxiety. I used to have of like i'm gonna blackout. What am i gonna do. What am i gonna say especially you know. I'm not even a big dude. But if if i were you know it's things. Id from that and that removing that from your life is pretty epic pretty coach. Yeah what up to the patients. Stokes sorry for the long message but recent gone through a familiar situation with my lady. And i'm unsure how to proceed. So here's the rundown my roommates and i recently celebrated twenty first birthday over the weekend and we rage hard. That team was cowboy night so everybody in their lady showed up. Dressed some fabulous western attire took it upon myself to put together a pair of denim atlas chops to not only. Wow the crowd but also rewarded for myself for not shying away from depth on leg day to keep it brief. The fellas loved it in fact. I play second in our costume contest. Let's go to my lady however did not like my costume it all at one point in the night she pulled me aside and tell me that she wasn't comfortable with cheeky fit and that she wasn't into it. When i put my arm around her like that after the party dispersed and we went home she and i had a heart to heart and when she reminded me of how she doesn't like to feel embarrassed or like all the is on her in social settings such as the root in tuten wager on the ranch. She felt embarrassed. The boasts of both of us with my brash costume and behavior at the ranger. And i just find it hard to agree. I love this girl with all my heart. And i don't wanna put her on edge when she socializes pair. This isn't the first time this has been a problem. So i'm definitely aware of the magnitude of this situation. So lords of stoke. What do i do. Shall i continue to ride by the seat of my pants and rage the way i love or do i put myself up by my bootstraps and real and in for the lady i love. Thank you for your wisdom bros..

"Movie about it up and down. Make your booty touch the ground. Ooh i can't help wonder. Why would i have made them or you. Don't think you bad put this year. Do you like destiny's child and this is my wife's favorite artists. So it's she her favorite movies bachelor favorite artists beyond say. I don't like either as talented. She can't sing a song race on the sabre live. How many of your songs has she written. She's probably got credit on everything. Because you're smart but it's it's all trash. I mean you look at. That would be the songs the song writing excited. I kind of agree with yet. I mean all those destiny child songs are just repeating the same word half the time bills bills bills. No no no like. I don't think you ready for this. Jelly yeah i mean. I don't think you're ready for this beehive dude. I said one thing about being better than beyond saying i got one of the angriest. Dmz i've ever gotten. Oh i'm sure were. Just tell in chad that like my wife's favorite artists is beyond so like i. I have to keep down at home for sure but like it's obvious you've seen that me more. It's like her and nine writers and the shitty lyrics and then freddie mercury bohemian rhapsody. Back one writer. I mean it's really forego and even like halos one of my favorite songs by her. I like like big ballads like that. And that song was intended for like it was. They gave it to like leona lewis. I and she didn't want it or something like that. So it's not like personal to our ed. Sheeran wrote love yourself so everyone thinks songs about selena gomez song. Yeah it's it's very muddy right now into who run. Who writes what but like and there's stuff were beyond say tried to j. d. Jd does where he doesn't write anything down ever. It's amazing is insane but it's also why he rhymes things with the same word. You can see him when he had the video of him here in dirt off your shoulder for the first time when tim. Lynn came up with the beat. It's a great video because their budgets dudes at like the peak of their power and they're just supposed to like confident and get what they do. But jay z goes into in the room and he's like all right. I'm gonna do this off. The cuff comes up with like a third of the lyrics. Two-thirds yeah i'm sure he does multiple takes. Everything gets it right. Yeah he came up the bones of it on that. I take three times. He rhymes words with the same words. They were saying he can remember like the whole album and his head like just yeah he must do well. He's got a big brain but yeah beyond they try to do that now. Says they've been together. It's just like that's why you got like surfboard surfboard. Surfboard surfboard. green on that would would. And how grading on that song as that are trying to love you catch a. It's funny when they did their concert film together. And even though jay z is like the most charismatic like one of the most charismatic hip hop performance of all time is just like the onstage talent disparity when you see beyond say like dancing like a maniac whose tilt hitting these incredible nodes and then jay z's talking t-shirt yeah they don't they don't put them next to each other like i don't know i don't know dude all right. Let's answer some. Oh because you guys are talking about drinking and and all this. You know how you thought you needed to do stuff. Like i just never had that feeling why i watched my buddy's dad like drink too much and fly off the handle as coach and stuff like this like little league games. Yeah he got in trouble for some words he said was he hammered at the games. He's always drinking always keystone light every day all day. Long any pass like a month before my dad but So that was my like he was never a role model to me but like a role model for drinking so right that that's where i was like. No i don't wanna do that. Yeah and then. I got right when i hit teenage years i was like getting. I wouldn't say political but just like philosophical and studied philosophy in college and then it got super carlin. i didn't know carlin was a huge pothead. Yeah long years but Yeah so. I just never looked to something else which made it hard. I mean just. Yeah obviously you know i probably would have had a lot more ladies suppose little more loose. I don't know. I mean you never know In toddlers knuckle it through life you know they call it white. Knuckling your life right. Yeah entitled sober. It's more success dating. Was i think when you have that. Composure it's It they can sense that you're like oh this guy's a little bit more has a better grip on who he is. I think maybe it's not powerful thing. That's what people in programs are often kind of. That's the aspiration is that you get to a place. Where you're you're motivated to be your best self. Yeah and that kind of transcends any of the things that you felt like drugs gave you or whatever your addiction is. Yeah because you really learn who you are. I just have a little more intense resting face than you do so like. I don't look as fun loving like right here. just normal. i don't know fear fund guy. I feel like i am the all fucked around. Actually i've never even thought about your Drinking at all like what do it or not. it's never like really factored into my thinking. Yeah which i think is a compliment. Right which is also weird. Because i do love vegas gambling drink. Well vegas is the fucking best. That's the thing about vegas good. No matter what. I liked it as feels like summer camp every summer camp. And when i go to camp it sucked. Yeah but it's like all hours. I love a twenty four hour town like i. I wouldn't like new york. Because i think it just feels crushing to me the big buildings but i just love the idea of being able to get up at to still be awake at four in the morning. Yeah looking for somebody. And there's a hardness in la. I mean it's probably there in vegas to if you live there but in vegas everyone is kind of like you're seeing some people take their hedonism too far but for the most part. Everyone's there in kind of a joyous joyous kind of new york people like smoking cigarettes and they're on the subway and they're like adam my way. I'm on my way to work my way. And that's a fun energy but it's not as easy going vegas i guess. Yeah yeah i did vegas sober for smells wedding. I loved it. I wake up and you. We wake up feeling good. You go to the gym. Nice s. jim. I walked the strip a little bit and it was like the idea of a waking up and not feeling hung over in the morning and vegas was like it was is. It just felt great. I was like this is awesome it. When i'm in vegas because i drink so much when i'm there and i'm out in the sun so much playing catch up every day like i'm fatigued and i have to find ways elegant to take naps and all these things to kind of just get back to normal. Yeah feels like. I'm going fifteen rounds. Totally not twelve like pre nineteen eighty five or whatever those championship rounds deep water. Yeah and i got ali bearing down on me. Hit me with everything he's got..

"Average we live in a totally different baseball new all like it. I don't like it either. Did you heard of the show. Shohei ohtani guy okay. So there's a guy for the angels who pitches and hits Which no one's done in like one hundred years and he's bad acid both ends fast. I just showed aaron a video of him beating on a single. We've gotta watch him angel stadium. Yeah yeah we pitchers don't usually hit never did you in the national league but they all suck oh they can hit well. That's okay. yeah no. He's like kershaw. Hit this guy leading. The league at home runs which is on her thirty anomaly. Bee's he's very special. Sixty home runs year. Does he piss you off. No oh you like the most exciting player in baseball. I just don't like how good he is right. I just wanted to kmart expense last october. And my buddy likes wipe my face. It's like you barely know who the padres are right. He's just stuck. They have a name guy right. You know what else to tell you the great. It's insane yet. another notes. Although he does he has walked a lot of guys which i find strange as like. It's not like elite. But he's he's very good right. He's very he's very he's the best thing they have on either side of the ball. That's why they suck because important. Yeah have you games yet. I haven't i was going to. The cardinals dodgers series. Which is you know if they had a day game. I could've brought the baby but they all night game so it was just gonna be me but even then it was so expensive. This is before everything opened up right unless you wanted to sit in the vaccinated section which was a shitty part of the stadium interesting so i was like now when you when you go to dodgers game what do you what do you eat. Do you get garlic fries. I have to get a dodger dog. Yeah yeah for sure. Do you get bruise. Drink ever ever know really never happened. That i mean. I've i've ivdr if i go to vegas slushy think but how we know that i feel i tell people about it. Yeah that's interesting. I mean you you play it so that props to you for playing it. So i can hang. Yeah everyone's like john. He's hammered but you're not no they're drunk. I don't care that's awesome. Do i'll take you as you are. That just speaks to us. Dude versatile you just fired me until it how his home safe for the most part dude. Don't do coke. But i like being around people on code. It's an exciting time. Something and i kind of feel that chaotic all the time like i feel like my brain dance always looking for that kind of energy. So when i'm around people on coke. They're just talking to mile a minute. Tangent ideas lot of intensity lot a passionate i get it. Yeah yeah it's nice. yeah remember. i've done it in just like where we The conversation do i get deep in the conversations. I mean well. I'll take out on college message from high school. What's up dude. How's it going. It's good to see you met. Santa clara just philosophy. What are you up to you. And they're like. Hey man i got super passionate yukon ted nugent stranglehold. We're going to have a conversation sir. Yeah it's a kind remembrance to reach back to people in high school. Yeah which is a good thing to do. Yeah totally yeah. It's you can take lessons from some of that behavior in back. That's one thing. I'd like to keep your like there's other aspects you don't wanna keep but that's that's a keeper as you say that Yesterday i one of my best friends from high school his birthday on facebook and i just it removed notification your savage dave of my life. I don't know i'm not attached. That that's sort of how i am Like marie condo of of of your personal life. Yeah and it's something. I need to work on too because when people from you know my password to reach out i appreciate it but sometimes i'm just like you'll get like tax you. Oh i'm busy which i shouldn't but that's my natural response. It's interesting i mean. I think there's there's a lot of positives to that too. You know what i mean. I think you grow a lot that way. And you're not attached to an identity as much. yeah because when you're constantly reaching backwards you're almost like reaching back to who you were back. Then i like that i like. I'm just very sentimental. That way. But i think if you can keep going forward and just take life as what. It's what's new that it's offering you probably eat. You might become a lot of different things in a cool way total. Yeah yeah because you're so different than you talk a lot about how different you are. Then when you're in college right. Oh yeah changed a lot. I've gone through so many different phases. I'd say you know our early childhood from Up until about eleven. I was quiet and shy. But but i was also a performer. And i would really bring that out in the you know especially like in front of the family christmas time always trying to make people laugh and then you know And then school. I think it kinda i think. High school kind of and middle school yet. No i was still kinda performer and middle school and then high school. Kat took the wind out of my sails. Got beaten up a little bit I think just with the competitive culture that sort of thrust into and i was just. I was just too sensitive for and that made that made me like turn inward kind of found partying and became like a party guy in that brought me back out. The mine was kind of the same. Yeah i put all my enthusiasm for being the center of attention into partying than trying to find a more traditional or or like..

"And you know they thought. In that moment i deserve it. They put shame on you for the first time it's like it's biblical adam and eve when they become aware of their nudity after eating the apple and then they cover up their genitals right. You literally had. Your moment got corrupted. Yeah disagree that you deserve shame though. Yeah i guess. I write about the the original sin here and you have no responsibility for the sanctity of their relationship right. Yeah i guess so. Yeah but also like. I said like if anyone if people are mad about their relationship breaking up it should be at the people in their life shipments the outside the house situation again. Don't be mad because you've got the place with a nice yard put. I don't know. But i did it and i you know i helped facilitate. You're part of pain. Y- i you know. I i pursued it knowing what the deal was but you know i i appreciate i appreciate the I am pretty hard on myself. So thank you for letting me off the hook a little bit and let the record show. You're incredibly and respectful of of those boundaries. Yeah your day to day life sensitive about it because it's you know parents divorce in my can't be that i can't do that. Uh-huh never do that but this was in high school. Right isn't high school again. i was not recommending homes. Now they probably working to end up together. I was really trying to. Maybe maybe god at the end. We'll show you what the time line was supposed to be like. They ended up having a kid and that kid cured covert but the likelihood is that they were destined for a break. Google after this guy's an update do back to basketball real quick. I'm so pumped cambo. Looks like they're gonna win the title when we record this. They're going into game six and they're up three to do. This guy has like as like cruella. Some of those other people are described where he's the opposite. I think hopefully. I don't ever get disillusioned with some tell all comes out in. It's like he was a cock but doesn't look like a dude. He's like never complains about his teammates. Stayed in a small to try and win a championship there and he always misses free throws his jumpers. He never lets get in his head he just keeps going keeps shooting. There's this other player. Ben simmons you sucks at shooting so we stopped because he's too embarrassed to help pass up like layups leg not be embarrassed basically jaanus just keeps going and so now he takes so long shoot free throws that the opposing fan bases will count how long it takes go wound to three. And it gets all the way up to ten or eleven to get in his head and he told reporters. He's like dude. I just have to try and find a way to have fun. While that's happening right. I can get through it right. Twenty six years that healthy of a mind that's cool and then they had this fucking insane block in one game and he didn't watch the highlight of it and reporters like why don't you watch the highlights. His ego is looking backwards. How great you're pride is looking forward to how great you could be right and i was like what. Yeah is pretty inspiring. He's a philosopher because he's greek. Yeah that's what it is do. That's what it is to good call. I was wondering i was. I was like what's going on. How does this guy have such a good mindset. because it's really like the other thing his teammate. After the george floyd steph was like. I don't know if i can play janas. On-the-spot goes the none of us are playing the first team in the nba. Hey we're sitting out that's dank. He's a leader dude. Yeah let's get chills stoic. He's stoic grow. he's stoic. that's what it is though. They got good philosophy over. They probably put that in their books. You know you get the original tax. They can read it in its native tongue. Yeah then he he just frigging. He's got on his brain. That stink ryan hall did reposted thing about ego. he really. what if beast. Yeah all that shit. I've been a therapy. Oh yeah you told me you win more than once. I want today to twice. I went to my therapist. I know i used to see her. she's awesome. She's best thing. I i was better today but my first one you know i was. I was pretty. I just had a rough weekend just emotionally and and i never really get sad. Sad and i was sad. Do all sad. I'm here to here. And so i had this. I had the sash and with like there every time i've therapy in i'm like i guess this is what's going on. You know i. It must be pretend heartbreak. Whatever yeah just like. This harper came up and stuff and you get like twenty minutes into it. And i'm like. I think that's all i got stuff to fill in our do. It's tough yeah. We're doing an hour. Stand up how many. Yeah yeah rob work right exactly exactly. I was like what's up with from. Yeah zooming from focused. And today i was actually able to fill the our our really nice. Yeah you're digging deep. "I think people who are already skeptical of the government. It's really been intensified in them over the last year. Yeah because there has been so much control. Some of which i think was justified but or a lot of i thought was justified but at this point i'm i'm i think we have to be through with that. Yeah i think it's exhausting. Yeah i don't you just gotta live your life. I mean if you're if you're going around paranoid about the government of the time it's like you know. I think it ruins your life like there's no you gotta do you got your i agree like what can you change. Yeah and maybe you could change thing about getting word out and you're like but i go run for office do something like that. Yeah starting on state i mean. Go ahead click there. We could talk about that on the pot. Read an interesting new york times article about how the prompt the united states is. We need more states. Oh yeah because we're so stuck in this system anyways with the amount of delegates yeah and like you know so we always know how voting's basically the amount of states we have doesn't reflect like our cultural trends so we just broke it up into like another twenty states right. maybe we do. I shake up like that. That'd be interesting. yeah. I thought it was a pretty good idea but i mean we are like maybe we could save it for the pod. I'm rolling everything. So yeah we can keep this yet. We are like a bunch of different countries bundled together ruling europe except where states. Yeah because europe is like england france spain. Whatever they're all different different cultures and stuff and and you could argue the same thing for america. You go to like texas for california. Oh different worlds. Yeah i mean well geographically. It's the same amount of space tubers such a big country. Yeah when i went to new england totally different. I mean i mean the amount of amount of pastel i saw. I've never seen that much. Pastel is brand new country. It's a different world clam chowder and pastel. That's the thing jobs. Thinking clam chowder in new england. Clam chowder bruce manhattan clam. Chowder couldn't be more colors. And you expect people who believe in those different kinds of clam chowder to agree on the same policies regarding like our economy. That's kind of a reach bro. That's huge yeah. I mean if you can't agree on the color of your clam chowder. How do you expect agree on guns. You can't skip point. You want to kick it off yeah. I'm just like the intensity of it. Although i do think elephant love medley is just beautiful also interesting. They wanted to be in that movie but he was too young. But do romeo and juliet soundtrack. Amazing what about this one of my favorite scenes of all time. When leo and claire danes were both in djelic in see each other through the fish tank and sung by ray plays music a lot and the cameras just tracking them. Apparently is she the one singing at the at the show. I'm not sure i saw in the. I don't know if the movie were always but some of the scenes are just perfect powered crushes powered so good space. A space astronaut suit being a dish. His smile when he sees her. And he's like so a his co. off. Yeah and he's like two gallon in a way that feel super corny. Yeah i love that movie. And also i met the great gatsby i was really stoke for that and then it came out and it was like a is a bummer sucks. Now that movie sucked soundtrack. Also he's good soundtracks but yeah great. Gatsby was bad. The acting was ridiculous. I don't know the typewriter letters like falling and stuff and the when they drove into new york city and it was just like all these colors. And he's like they're on the road. it's not real cars obviously. Yeah yeah i love. Leo leo sick. What'd you think of toby in that movie. Mcguire who is. Nick is conned billy. Calloway yeah he was good. I liked tobey maguire. He doesn't pop and stuff much either like every five years because he's too busy playing poker at nine breaking mortgage lenders. You have the tenacity to come. Adam or the temerity. Yeah but no. I liked him in it. I liked him. He's kind of a weird guy because he always plays like a softie you know what i mean. He's always kind of delight and like really sweet. He's not like that off camera so it's kind of interesting but i like it when he plays something weird or like wonder boys. He's like this weird writer college kid. He's kind of creepy and manipulative. I liked him a lot in that. Right yeah yeah. I like to Spiderman three when they let him show his bad boy side. That's what i'm talking about. Industry being a bad boy he is unmatched. I dressed up for them a couple of buddies dressed up junior college. We have a lot going on the weekend and we used to just put on some outfits and go see movies and we got her. My fringy that goes with who's super. Jackie look delirious and his spiderman cousin when it when it got to that and he goes. What is this the mask. What's it called. Oh we're going to dress up for talking to. That's the first thing we're going to dress up for a long time. What are we going. We're going with flight. Suits flight suits for sure and then a dude either. Interesting thing about spiderman three. They had a really novelist. Michael chaban help on the second one plus name and he said on the third one they made them put more bad guys in it so they could sell more merge so he didn't wanna add in like sandman or whatever now we need more bad guys because then we can. We can move more toys at mcdonald's exactly did i remember those happy meals growing up. I was always so psyched. Actually my favorite taco bell taco bell took on batman. The one with Arnold schwarzenegger remember these. That was that was the best that taco bell theme batman theme. I got so many mexican pizzas with arnold. Just staring back at me.
