"No. Everyone that I've spoken with the few people that know that I know that no David Collie saves a hell of a guy. That he's a good man. They wish him nothing but the best, and all of those things are true, but that's not the conversation. Why is it taking a guy if he's qualified, like David Kelly 27 years to get a job? Let alone a guy like you're the enemy who is calling plays or at least a co offensive coordinator. However, you wanna put it all right, as Pat Mahomes that past asked Patrick Holmes, what he is When you help a guy with an M v p in a Super Bowl and your offenses prolific as it is, and he's the hottest commodity in the league, and yet he can't get a job. When? Two years ago. Seven jobs are open or eight jobs. And then this last year, seven jobs rope Any interview for some of these jobs by the way. So. So what's what's going on? You know when you talk about guys like Cliff Kingsbury? Kingsbury was hired after being a college coach 35 40 at Texas Tech. Never was an NFL assistant. Does that matter? Well, it matters. If you're talking about the criteria of what you wanted a head coach, doesn't it? I think they're on the cusp of something because he got the quarterback you wanted. He's got a great wide receiver. Thank you Texans. I think they're on the cusp of doing something, but that's not what we're talking about. Talking about what's the criteria to get a job laid out by the NFL and the folks who do the hiring owners? That Taylor guys with Cincinnati. He had five games of play calling experience. He got a job. Now I'll tell you something else. His father in law was Mike Sherman. He was the coach of the Dolphins at the time. And then he became the Rams quarterback coach under Cha McVeigh prior to taking the Cincinnati job that helps But Ian called place for years. Then Freddie Kitchens know when he was the coach of the Browns. This tells you how Just a raid the Browns, where the Browns promoted Freddie Kitchens after eight games of play, calling because they wanted to keep the continuity. It was a mistake. We got a job. So what's the criteria? What do you have to do is the question and especially if your coach of color when the criteria is laid out, and you do exactly what they want, or exactly what they ask of you and you still don't get a job. Hopefully, they all have great success. But what happens next year when the hiring cycle rolls around? And you have qualified candidates who continue to get overlooked. Why It's the hypocrisy and the unfairness that still exist when it comes to hiring practices in the NFL. And I'm specifically talking about head coaches. Now, let's talk about Let's talk about general managers for second because that's a whole another story. I mean, people always ask me, you know, where are these guys? If you are in the NFL, you know them. Okay. If you work in the NFL, you know who exist. And there were guys this year who were up for general managers jobs because there were six general managers jobs that were open. Broncos Panthers Lions Texans Falcons JAG's in the Washington football team. The Lions, the Falcons and watching football team all hire black general managers. But there were other guys out there. Rich Smith and Jerry Reese. Reggie McKenzie. All these guys have experience. You know? Will Lewis, who has been around for 20 years? All these guys have experienced. They are front office people. Because if you're a team rebuilding, you're not bringing a Matthew Stafford For example, I'd be stunned if we find out the New York Jets. We're going to be getting Matthew Stafford. It's going to be a team. I don't know. Like the Bears. Hopefully, for Matthew Stafford shake, it's not, but it's probably not going to be the Bears Cousin division actually scratch the bears off because that's in division probably does not happen. But it's probably gonna be a team. For example, 40 Niners of the Colts. Now, given it more thought. It's probably the 40 Niners, the Colts. And if I'm the colt That should be the move because you're not getting to Shawn Watson because it's in division. So you may as well going out. And you may as well view the Colts go give up. What a one in a 313 and five to get Matthew Stafford. I'm not saying that the Colts you're gonna win a Super Bowl with Matthew Stafford, but it's better than what you had last year in Philip Rivers. You have you have a decision to make? Do you hold out hope for Watson and give up three or four first round picks. Where do you go the cheaper route with the quarterback that is still effective. One thing that he said to me coming up here a little later, but John Elway, Vic Fangio drew lock. I talk to Shelby Harris. I talked to Josie, Jule on guy. Talk to Bradley, Chuck and I talk to Dalton Prisoner. And all of them kind of universal, and I can't swear that this was a message from Vic, although I imagine it was said how big it will be to start the year off right, even though it's ending the season starting the year off, right, because we're in a new year, beating your rival going into the offseason with the Wind, Vic. Certainly when I ask him about the graphic, look, look, you guys when you know you'll get a little bit lower graphic and he's like Yeah, I worry about this game, and John said Essentially, something is like we are paid to win football games not to worry about draft picks on so They want to go in and beat the Raiders for a number of reasons.
