"You get really cool gifts from Club authority and points back. Danny. Gentlemen, let's begin with the big news of the weekend, and I'm not talking Danny. How are you, buddy? Who d How you doing, Brother? I'm hanging in there, man hanging in there, man. I tell you for a man playing hurt You sound like you're 110% 0. I have 110% on the radio. Until 10 o'clock when I mean, helping tried to try to figure out he was shell. Yeah, I know a little help, please. A little help. That's why they make Crown Royal You know, That's what that sounds like The move right now. That sounds like the move. Crown Royal in a bedpan and you're good to go. Seven AM Wow, What a vision. I would say an edible might be a better thing and some CBD, MD Mm. I'm gonna have to figure this out. That's for sure. But you listen, I realized that I am I'm 48 that 28. I know that for sure. Now. Damn, I'm gonna take my time now. Next time, I'll just do one or two houses and set up five or six. Ugo Sylvie texted me. He's very upset that you didn't listen to him. If you recall last week, he said, you should take it easy shoveling. His fear was that we'd have to go back to Captain Company. But either way his prediction was right. You are sticking, Sylvie. Alright for heaven's sakes somewhere, Pat Boyle, see? Yes, Yes. Go down, huh? Yes. All right, gentlemen, let's go to the biggest story the weekend and not that cap hates porn. The biggest story. The weekend was the trade Matthew Stafford for Jared Goff, Rams and Lions making this move. So I ask you guys by forcing the Rams to trade away their future number out. First round picks for Matthew Stafford shatter. No shot. Sean McVeigh's seat is now warm and L a shot 100%. Because every time they lose your goes to the good enough When they win, Boy, that boy wonder of a coach. What a scheme he put out today. Stop yourself. He better win with this move, or they'll fire his ass. Tell you what staffers put up Terrific numbers. But what does that mean for the team? There's some great numbers that Stafford is individually, but it is not equated to division championships and being able to get to the next level for the Lions so absolutely shot now, you know McVeigh went to the Super Bowl cap. Now you start looking at all these junk coaches, right big bays. Part of that Maggie is part of that these guys that have all these schemes, but when it comes to getting the job done, we have not seen that enough. So there's no question McVeigh see this hot in Los Angeles. All right, gentlemen, sticking with that topic. So hours after Stafford was traded to the Rams for Jared Goff Word leaked that the New England Patriots were the on Lee team. Matthew Stafford would not accept a trade to Rex Ryan of ESPN. He said that players didn't want to go to New England because of Bill Bella check. They wanted to go to New England because of Tom Brady. So I ask you guys Shot or no shot. Bill Bella checks reputation as a genius is going to take a major hit over the course of the next five seasons. Um, Wow, that's a great great question. That's a no shot. He Okay? How about this? How can we meet in the middle on this? I think it's a very well ask question by Danny. Yes, His reputation could be Harnessed some during the next five years, but when he retires and goes off to his boat When you look back, you're still going to go. The guy went to nine Super Bowls. He's still the greatest team sports coach other than Scotty Bowman in the history of American sports. How about I say no shot? It's Matt Stafford, saying it A good point to mean. What is that? Stafford over one, right? That's not that's my ankle. My ankle on it is Oh, it's Matt Stafford. Oh, you didn't want to go there because you didn't want to work hard. Is that it? Or you could take the personality. You can take the culture change, and you think it's a little easier? Los Angeles because the younger coaching Cha McVeigh all right, then you know what? No, I think that across the board, there's respect No one's running away from New England. If you have an opportunity to be there, you know that you come out on the other side of being a better a better player because That guy is a wizard. He's known so much about the game. He's a nerd about it, right. Bill Belichick? Yep. So So if village is off new English on your list, that means that you're clearly fearful that you have to work actually harder at your job more than the numbers but actually learning the game from a different perspective. So because of Stafford, I say no shot. All right, gentlemen. Leonel Messi Soccer Lionel Messi got a new contract with Barcelona. It is reportedly worth up to €555 Million, which comes out to 673 million US Howard Stern over the next four seasons. Wait. No, that's not gloss over the numbers say the number again. How much $673 million over four seasons. It's reportedly the most expensive contract ever agreed with an athlete in any sport. So I ask you guys shot or no shot. Lionel Messi is the most deserving of being the highest paid athlete in any sport in the world. I'm going to say shot because I know the value of that brand of that sport. Having gotten to go to a game in Europe, it Manchester's hosting Chelsea and then Son, Alex and I, When we were in Spain went to camp new as they like to call it where C. Miller didn't even think I knew that camp knew where Barcelona plays. It's freaking unbelievable. There's 10,000 people a day going in there just for tours when they don't play. So, yes, the money there is totally different than the money here. $673 million over four years is our dad is a ton. You know, you know he has to give 50% of it to taxes. All God he's had his own He's had about with the tax evasion two in Spain. The Spanish government comes down hard on their athletes. What I.

"I I would be more willing to just back up the Brinks truck of picks and money for a guy like Watson that has more upside, um or unknown than than the known in a Stafford in Orion. Um Jared Golf now, you know, just a few years removed from the Super Bowl. And this is why this offseason gonna be crazy in the NFL fans. We're gonna lose our minds because it's just gonna be like what? Who went where he got traded But golf. You know you look, it is his touchdown passes and you go Okay since being picked first overall since 20 1617 he's 55 picks. Um 69 career regular season games in a couple of Pro Bowls. Problem is Tyler in the playoffs. He's not being good. So now there are rumors about golf and the Rams entertaining ideas about trading Jared Golf. Which is going to be difficult given that cap hit and the Rams are there. They're doing their part. I mean, they're making it very clear and they have been for a while that they're not that happy with your dog. They would like to move on from Jared Dogs, but you're given the market and given the quarterbacks that are kind of be available. The trade free agency, the draft I'm not so sure Team's gonna be in a rush to take that money. And you know what shocks me with that whole situation. Is Cha McVeigh. And unless the state I mean they're they're rhetoric out of it is Is pretty shocking. I mean, I don't know. Like I get it the graces genius. He's a genius like cutting that you better but maybe not like they made me E. He was embarrassed in the Super Bowl. By Bill Bala checks they couldn't move the ball. I mean, they came out and it was like they were living in their huddle. And what was the reaction to that? I I've heard that, you know, Defensive players air calling out their plays, you know, before the snap. Um that's an indictment of big data was an indictment of Jericho off You branded cooks was such an important chest piece in that offense. You lose him. Got girly move on from him. I don't know, like I'm not so sure that we should all just point the finger at the quarterback and your golf and say is terrible In the days of genius like I know that's what we're trained to think and social media. But I think we do have to kind of re frame that narrative in that argument. Wonder Okay. Maybe Chama today. Isn't that brilliant genius that we all thought he was? Because for some reason, all these players he had there either pushing them out or they're just not there anymore. And yeah, they're not. They're not the same juggernaut they once were. Tyler down our guest guys at CBS Sports Radio Karl Dixon today Tyler again creative go long tv dot com. So who got the best coaching high? Let let's let's write these coaching hires. Okay, um, in your opinion. Where where we start, We start with the Jets. Okay, they get Robert solid. And you know, he was a guy the interview for a variety of jobs. I just think the Jets culture has been bad. And even though solid might be the right guy. Is the front office going to act, right? Is the front office gonna do their part? To turn this thing around. That's a really bad situation there. I mean, you do wonder if is a coach. Any coat really going to be able to step in there and fix what's wrong? I don't I don't think so. I don't even always start. You gotta figure out what she what you got in Sam. Donald. What you're gonna do a quarterback? I mean, I kind of jumped the gun. I guess the one coach fire that I love And at first I didn't because not a lot of college coaches have made that leap and been successful. But Urban Meyer in Jacksonville, Man. I mean, That's what a situation to walk into with that with that money to spend with those picks Trevor Laurence. They've got some young talent they really do. James Robinson DJs shark. Josh, Alan and G End on the other side of the ball that they've got some pieces and CJ Anderson the corner. I feel like if a former college coat Can make the leap from, you know, controlling the program and being like a father to kids to know coaching adults. It's a weird transition that not a lot. A lot of guys can make, you know. Look at next seven in Miami, Billy Urban Meyer can do it because The situation he's inherited. It is man. I didn't ask for a better situation s. So I guess you didn't like the Dan Campbell. We're gonna but your kneecaps off and kick you in the ankles. You didn't like that. I I loved it. I loved. You know what it's one of those is like nothing else. Get yourself your water. It's just, you know, it's got punching. You need flapping your knee. It's amazing, but then Your head coach and your maybe you don't love it as much anymore, Tyler, Man Appreciate you stopping by today. Good stuff. It's gonna be a lot of fun Super Bowl next week. We'll keep an eye out on what's going on all off season and make sure you follow him. Tyler, don't appreciate you coming on, man. Thanks so much for having me anytime. Absolutely. Hey, Quick reminder..

"No. Everyone that I've spoken with the few people that know that I know that no David Collie saves a hell of a guy. That he's a good man. They wish him nothing but the best, and all of those things are true, but that's not the conversation. Why is it taking a guy if he's qualified, like David Kelly 27 years to get a job? Let alone a guy like you're the enemy who is calling plays or at least a co offensive coordinator. However, you wanna put it all right, as Pat Mahomes that past asked Patrick Holmes, what he is When you help a guy with an M v p in a Super Bowl and your offenses prolific as it is, and he's the hottest commodity in the league, and yet he can't get a job. When? Two years ago. Seven jobs are open or eight jobs. And then this last year, seven jobs rope Any interview for some of these jobs by the way. So. So what's what's going on? You know when you talk about guys like Cliff Kingsbury? Kingsbury was hired after being a college coach 35 40 at Texas Tech. Never was an NFL assistant. Does that matter? Well, it matters. If you're talking about the criteria of what you wanted a head coach, doesn't it? I think they're on the cusp of something because he got the quarterback you wanted. He's got a great wide receiver. Thank you Texans. I think they're on the cusp of doing something, but that's not what we're talking about. Talking about what's the criteria to get a job laid out by the NFL and the folks who do the hiring owners? That Taylor guys with Cincinnati. He had five games of play calling experience. He got a job. Now I'll tell you something else. His father in law was Mike Sherman. He was the coach of the Dolphins at the time. And then he became the Rams quarterback coach under Cha McVeigh prior to taking the Cincinnati job that helps But Ian called place for years. Then Freddie Kitchens know when he was the coach of the Browns. This tells you how Just a raid the Browns, where the Browns promoted Freddie Kitchens after eight games of play, calling because they wanted to keep the continuity. It was a mistake. We got a job. So what's the criteria? What do you have to do is the question and especially if your coach of color when the criteria is laid out, and you do exactly what they want, or exactly what they ask of you and you still don't get a job. Here is my issue with all of this. Carl Dukes on CBS Sports Radio. You can chime in 855 to 1 to four CBS That's 4227. If you want a private company, okay? And you want to hire all guys that look like you. You can't Is nothing in this country said You can't do that. You could do that. The problem is the NFL set out guidelines and protocols and hiring practices because they knew the coaching situation in the league didn't reflect the players in the league. It doesn't reflect the kind of lead that they want when they talk about diversity. 75% of leagues Black Three black head coaches. Now, David colleagues a third Mike Tomlin's always the fall back where you got Tom Tom has been there. Mike Tomlin's never had a losing season. I'm talking about Mike Tomlin, Thomas to be the example for people to take a chance on some of these other coaches. But we always just use him and as the example of Thomas there Knew that Brian floors Ron Rivera is Hispanic, and Robert Sala is the first Muslim Aaron air born American head coach in the NFL. He speaks here don't know how much but he does. But that's the lay out. So how do you get these opportunities? And if you have a private company hire you want, But when you have the NFL, and these opportunities don't reflect what you're trying to do. What do you do? How do you deal with this moving forward? This siren cycles over and I was all of these guys that got jobs, The best of luck. I looking Sala and after Smith and all these guys who got jobs, I want to see how well they do in the NFL. Hopefully, they all have great success. But what happens next year when the hiring cycle rolls around? And you have qualified candidates who continue to get overlooked. Why It's the hypocrisy and the unfairness that still exist when it comes to hiring practices in the NFL. And I'm specifically talking about head coaches. Now, let's talk about Let's talk about general managers for second because that's a whole another story. I mean, people always ask me, you know, where are these guys? If you are in the NFL, you know them. Okay. If you work in the NFL, you know who exist. And there were guys this year who were up for general managers jobs because there were six general managers jobs that were open. Broncos Panthers Lions Texans Falcons JAG's in the Washington football team. The Lions, the Falcons and watching football team all hire black general managers. But there were other guys out there. Rich Smith and Jerry Reese. Reggie McKenzie. All these guys have experience. You know? Will Lewis, who has been around for 20 years? All these guys have experienced. They are front office people. So when you look at.

"Over because if you can't do that, after three weeks, and I would not expect it to on, I think you know that now, but you just don't want to actually say it. Cause you're holding out on that one or 2% hope that maybe dish on Mozz and changes his mind. It has a change of heart. Then you really got to get the ball rolling on. This thing can move quickly. I saw that, Albert Breer said today. That the initial interest on Matthew Stafford has been so strong and don't be surprised if Matthew Stafford is actually traded before the Super Bowl. Super Bowl. Next week. lines are going to part ways this offseason. So there is a strong amount of interest or Matthew Stafford. But it will be a limited market. Because if you're a team rebuilding, you're not bringing a Matthew Stafford For example, I'd be stunned if we find out the New York Jets. We're going to be getting Matthew Stafford. It's going to be a team. I don't know. Like the Bears. Hopefully, for Matthew Stafford shake, it's not, but it's probably not going to be the Bears Cousin division actually scratch the bears off because that's in division probably does not happen. But it's probably gonna be a team. For example, 40 Niners of the Colts. Now, given it more thought. It's probably the 40 Niners, the Colts. And if I'm the colt That should be the move because you're not getting to Shawn Watson because it's in division. So you may as well going out. And you may as well view the Colts go give up. What a one in a 313 and five to get Matthew Stafford. I'm not saying that the Colts you're gonna win a Super Bowl with Matthew Stafford, but it's better than what you had last year in Philip Rivers. You get Matthew Stafford for 345 years of he could stay healthy. You have a quarterback there? You could continue to improve a roster that's already pretty damn good. Now for the 40 Niners. You have you have a decision to make? Do you hold out hope for Watson and give up three or four first round picks. Where do you go the cheaper route with the quarterback that is still effective. Matthew Stafford. Or do you actually still trust Jimmy J. I don't think they trust Jimmy J. Because Jimmy G. Yeah, I know the one year he was good to go. They got to a Super Bowl. The guy gets hurt too much. And Stafford's that his injury problems too. There is a lot more upside, though, with Stafford than Jimmy J. And we even get to it as well that now the Rams The rand's air having interest the Matthew Stafford that was some Jeremy Fowler. So this is just something that you look at the whole situation. Could the rands maybe get Matthew Stafford? That's something to may. I just don't know. How you going to make that work salary cap wise because of Jared Goff. And I think it's clear. That the Rams want to get rid of Jared Goff. I think that's abundantly clear. Have you heard their general manager? Les Snead? Yes, Gellar. Gulf is our quarterback in this moment. Check If my boss can you imagine Mark Chernoff Zaki's around. You know, he's our radio host from 6 to 10 P.m. these three and 3 to 7 P.m. Pacific in this moment. I call it Mark, and I've never had to curse mark out because I love Mark and we have a good relationship, but I would call it mark and say in this moment You know, I'm under contract. Just in this moment That gives me off the impression that the Rams are looking to trade him and they don't believe in him. Cha McVeigh's probably sitting back and saying, Hey, on this offense of genius. Look out. I also hire bread and Stanley. He gets a head coaching job, and Jared Gauss, the one that's holding us back. It's not the system. It's not the offense. It's the guy that are calling the shots. It's the guy that has to throw the football, I should say. How are the Rams? Go to move Jared Goff. When Jared Goff is a question mark. He's not horrible. But he is a question Mark. Who's gonna want to trade for that contract for Jared Golf. So do I think the 40 Niners. Think for Stafford. It's either going to be the 40 Niners of the Colts. Is there another team there? Trace that You feel good about their chances and getting Matthew Stafford, maybe Washington's football team. Would say those three options. Washington's football team The 40 Niners and the Colts. Those in the three options to May Gotta probably the most solid and the most realistic. Is there anyone else that you could think of their I would toss in a Broncos. They've been a team that's kind of floated out of that action. Other conference so kind of away from Detroit. Lot of receivers. Maybe they could be in the mix. Yeah, And do you believe in Drew lock right now? I would say no. Now is that team ready to win a Super Bowl? We got to see they got some pieces going offense was sudden coming back. You got KJ Handler you got Jerry Judy? You got the two backs. You got some pieces to work there. You got Chub still. I don't know what's happening with the Von Miller off the field situation. We haven't heard really an update their I've not seen anything. If there was an update, I apologize. But, yeah, the Broncos have been looking for a quarterback for a long time. But those of the three teams kind of the now I expected to be in for Stafford. Cults, the 40 Niners and Washington's football team, So let's say for deal happens this week or next week. Guys. Would you agree that Watts is not getting trade in the next two weeks? I would be stunned if it if it moves that quickly. I would agree with you. Yes, All right, So let's say staffer goes to the Colts. Let's say you get your wish Stafford goes to the Colts. Now the market for Watson and that's why it But who's the Texans to wait till staffer goes Because then all those teams that missed out on Matthew Stafford are going to say All right, do we ante up? Do we pony up and give you 34 1st round picks? For it to Shawn Watson..

"You've got You've got Matthew Stafford on the move. You could have Carson Wentz on the move. Jared Goff. And if you're Jared Goff, I don't care if you've got you've got guaranteed money so you can't feel too badly. When you hear your GM Les Snead Talk about you in terms of yet. I mean, I'm paraphrasing here, but yeah, he's on our roster as of today. You know, that's not gonna end. Well, I mean, they can't the Rams both Sean Macbeth, Cha McVeigh head coach and less need the GM. Publicly have all but said We can't wait to get this guy out of Los Angeles now whether they can do it from a from a salary cap standpoint because they would be hamstrung to move his contract, which is more than just significant. We'll see. But who else? I mean, Dak Prescott is still they can franchise him. I see. No way. Dallas! Let's deck Prescott. Get out of town. Even Aaron Rodgers. May be available. Yeah, I could be, I guess. Okay. He did say yesterday that after he had some time to calm down that he expects to be back in Green Bay. Yeah. Anybody said anything can have right or words to that effect. And then the we were talking about this before the show from sports betting dot com The Broncos are now the odds on favorite toe land. Matthew Stafford. I saw that last night there 321 Now there now the favorite. Broncos 321 Colts, 4 to 1 Washington 5 to 1 bears 6 to 1. So here's the deal. How did the Broncos Bounce in front of the Colts as the odds on favorite To acquire Matthew Stafford. I don't get it. Well, the only way to term in terms of Vegas we both know we all three know how that that works. That means I mean Vegas wants toe have can't imagine. There's a hell of a lot of money on that. Prop. But you want to balance the books if you're in Las Vegas, so I wonder if somebody put a sizable amount of money on the Broncos. Well, we could talk to Brandon Lang about that when we get him on and get his take on that. And these betting websites, you know, this isn't just speculation. This is how these guys make their money. So I get your attention. It definitely gets your attention. Broncos Now the favorites 3 to 1, I think if if But if that's the way the Broncos decide to go, and George Payton decides that they're gonna make a run at Matthew Stafford, and they can offer whatever they offer that will Get the deal done. I've got to think. That the overwhelming majority of fans here in Denver and the Rocky Mountain area that followed the Broncos would be pretty stoked about it. I think so, too. But I wonder about the cult of maybe they think the Colts have their eye on someone else now. Well, I may be available to me. It got really interesting today because before this morning You know you didn't You hadn't heard anything from to Shawn Watson. But there was much speculation that the relationship was fractured that his his gripe was with the owner. Of course, you can't change out. The owner wouldn't matter who the head coach was. We all were speculating about that. But today it's confirmed that he has told the Texans he wants to be traded, so he vaults right to the top of the list. We sit here today? Somebody is gonna have to Shawn Watson as their starting quarterback next year, And that is I mean, depending on Can you imagine Shawn Watson in Indianapolis? With that with that offensive line and running game and they're really good on defense. They be Super Bowl favorite. So I think I mean, I think they think they would vault right to the top of the A F. C. I don't know if they be favored over Kansas City, but Kansas City, buffalo and nd those three teams would be Would be atop the leader. Absolutely. Yep. And maybe on the other side, You know, I have fans ask me all the time. So what's the difference between Matthew Stafford and Joe Flacco Case? Keenum? Maybe you could explain that to people. Where he is in his career compared to Career case. Keenum has had mostly a backup. And where Joe Flacco was when we got him, Hmm. We could do that. 303437. Dave, do you think what has happened with all these quarterbacks is actually league moving, too young first contract quarterbacks. As a business model. Mm. Not sure completely understand the question. But no, I think it's the case where Shawn Watson has just had enough of Houston and he was misled. In terms of what he was told from ownership. Assed far as hiring the next GM that he'd be part of the process. And then he That he wasn't even I mean, he wasn't even talked to right. You get rid of DeAndre Hopkins to he doesn't like the personnel moves they've made. He doesn't like anything about what they've done. Yeah, There's just such a seemingly lack of communication in the Texans organization. How you don't include that guy. In the talks, especially when you went to him and told him Hey, we're gonna include you with your opinions very important us. You know, you see that done in other You know fields. You see that done in other areas. It's not just the NFL, but the lack of communication. Is startling, And that to me is the single biggest way to fracture a relationship. Just not not staying in communication one way or the other. So we'll talk about that. And a lot more 9 27 is our time. Three or 37138585 the number Dave Logan. "Hope You're Friday's going great got Tim Anderson. I want to share that was from later in the show yesterday. It was a surprise guest with us, too. With R B I baseball 21 coming out when we got here that zips sound of some football chatter right there. Gentlemen, there's only one coaching job left open. It is the Houston Texans. It is still open. But according to Tom, Hello, Sarah. The NFL network with all eyes on the Texan's head coaching search. The team conducted interviews today with former NFL head coach Jim Caldwell and longtime NFL quarterback Josh McCown. How about that little Joshie football? All right. So Watson's getting traded, right? He's supporting his way out. Just Josh is one of my favorite guys in football. Is he Does he live in Houston now? No, he lives in Carolina. I think he coaches his son's football team I thought was any heat, though traded or something that they release him where it gets, wasn't he? Sort of with the Texans examine the covert quarterback? He was gonna be a nice idea. Everyone went down. Here's what pal Sarah's second Tweet, says Josh McCown is strong leadership traits and intends to get into coaching. Eventually. He's been rumored as a possible NFL head coach during previous stops, but his plan has been to watch his son play high school, A sons play high school football, then the next in the next few years, and obviously This would change his plan, though, if he got his coaching job I love Josh and I think Josh will eventually be a now outstanding football coach is hard to go from the gridiron to the sidelines. Go from being a quarterback to a head coach. It's just hard to do that, right? Like I don't know. Look, Shawn McVeigh was how young when he took over now. You coached for many years showing Faye was Josh McCown played. Yeah, but like Cha McVeigh was a coach for years before he became a head coach. So you believe that they do have two. Most coaches need to. Yeah, I think yeah. I think anybody needs to go and be part of the The apparatus before they become the captain of the ship. They need to go through some some one of the process. I think. I mean, I think it's You imagine like Cutler's his quarterbacks, coach? Quality control coach? No, no Cheap matches. J. J won't get out of the deer stand long enough to do that. I'm the Shawn Watson. The text goes in today. Trade me. The text goes in right now as much betrayed me. Yes, well, you wanted that's got to discredit Josh. It's not true that while you're sitting here is not tired yet. Yeah, that And also Jim Caldwell should be a head coach in the last. Well, he got a raw deal into choice. Yeah. No, Jack. All of our jokes are directed at Josh McCown, not Jim Caldwell because he should still be eco. Jim Caldwell got a very bad deal. Amazing. She's going back to New England. By the way more. We don't need me to do what to the trust tree. He's going to assist the Patriots coaching staff in a variety of roles. Well, because right now what his son Belichick son is like co defensive coordinator, right? Yeah, And there's a former player that I forget who it is one of their their accomplished library. Is it Is it Giraud Mayo, who is their defensive coordinator as well? I think that there is somebody who it sounds right why I had a good spin as a player who is That's the That's kind of the natural progression is that if you want to be a coach, and I think one day Josh could probably be a fantastic coach, but you have to go through process to the chaplain's their vice president right now. Okay? Yeah, but that's not in Houston's different. Yeah, I know that they're not the model franchise when it comes to that. About what that's what that's who we're talking about here, though, aren't we in Houston? How about Houston? Like they may hire that? I don't know who they're gonna hire. I'm just telling you, I I don't think that that's the right path for those who don't know the guy who is the vice president right now. On runs. The team is a guy who used to be New England's chaplain, and then he left New England. Any was with Houston, and then he was elevated the vice president of the team. Yeah, that's a weird situation, so we're there is some several articles out there. I want to get to this while because we're up against the clock. Um Tim Anderson joined us yesterday. He's outstanding. He's going to be on the cover of R B I baseball 21. The white sacks now are one of the favorites in the American League. And the first thing that we asked him, like many football players, you know, aren't happy with the mad and rating. I asked him, Anderson if he's happy with his RB, I 21 rating. Yeah, definitely. You know the ranking. Don't matter. I know how good I am and realize how good are you so if you for someone who hasn't seen you play Yeah. How would you describe your game right now? Almost palpable. Who will stop me? You know, I'm just I'm I'm a problem. I'm a proud nomads, but honestly, no. Honestly, I just, You know, Madame I just work. It just worked at it day in day out, man. I'm just obsessed with, you know, continue to get better on and off the field. Um, And then I just, you know, just learning myself learning my swing, and I understand, you know? No, I know what I'm doing in the box, or, you know whatever it is Just mostly had an understanding on it. And you know that Once you understand you're gonna you're gonna take the confusion out of anyone taking frustration out of it, and they just build have fun with it. Regardless of what the results are you can you can hear the excitement level in your voice right now. How excited are you about what has transpired as a team? In this off season and your enthusiasm about what's to come in the 2021 season. No, definitely, You know, excited. Um, you could see it. Um, you know, it's been talked about for over the past years to finally be able to get to this point. Um, is definitely you know great. Um, but, you know, We remember what opened felt like last year s so that I think that's enough. They should make everybody hung enoughto continue to go out and try to deliver what you know what the ultimate goal is. Is the World Series. How much contact have you had with your new manager, Tony LaRussa. I'm not a little contact. You know, he takes back and forth. We talk in there. So you know, I'm definitely, you know. Good. Good contact. You know him until you know what way have on the table. Was there any apprehension when when you first heard that he was the manager? The house. You know, definitely a little different, You know?.

"So we talked about it last our best quarterback receiving duo in the National Football League. Now we're going to talk about the best head coach quarterback duo. Of the remaining playoff teams in the National Football League, So let me just run through the teams that are remaining. Aaron Rodgers, Matt Leffler. Aaron Rodgers M V. P in the league right now, Matt look for has come into Green Bay, his first year NFC title game. Second year. Now hold on. You had the whole mess with the Jordan love in the offseason Packers are just gonna win the division. They won't be a Super Bowl threat. Not only do they win the division, they have the best record in the NFC. The number one seed the road to the Super Bowl. As long as Green Bay wins this weekend and keeps on winning, it goes through Lambeau Field. So Matt LaFleur is a coach. Am I ready to tell you? He's a great coach? I'm not I'm ready to tell you. He's a top five coach. I'm not before the year he wasn't even considered a Top 10 coach because it's such a small sample size but to be in this league And you look at your first two years in. I don't care what Ross do you have? I don't care who your quarterback is. It is impressive. Do in your first year with the roster that let's be really does have some flaws like that run defense Last year was bad. They made more of a commitment to run the football last year. But your first two years in the league, especially with all the drama the off season to be 26 6. Yeah. My own mind now, Matt Leffler doesn't abandon Rogers is he 26 6? No, most likely not. Let's say he's the coach of the Tennessee Titans. Let's say ended my Grable. You know, swap spots. Could Mike Vrabel b 26 6? Yes. Is back before getting the Titans to the postseason last two years. I don't know. Could be sure. So I got to see this year a matter for if he gets the job done. How much of that team really a just cause last year. Got into the playoffs. Last you got to the NFC title game. You got your doors blown off by hope the San Francisco 40 Niners, So I think that the forces of good coach it is very good coach. Already tell you that he's gonna be in Green Bay for 10 years. I've already tell you that he's definitely gonna win a Super Bowl. No. And most likely if they lose, and if they don't win this weekend against the Rams, they lose next weekend in the NFC title game, or they lose to the Super Bowl. Who's probably gonna get most of the blame. Could be on Rogers. What's the number one story point. If the Rogers lose it, the Packers lose. I base the Senate's Rogers at the Rogers lose, That's what it is. Now could Rogers played great and maybe get a pass? For example, they didn't lose that Seattle NFC title game because of Aaron Rodgers. Now the last two years, I will say this last 2000 NFC title game. I don't remember a lot of criticism last year about Roger's after the NFC title game. I just got blown out now The offensive line was terrible Defensive line was terrible. So there was some excuses made but also the championship game before that, in the NFC championship game against the Falcons. First half. They got blown out as well. So the pressure this year for the Packers Careful. Four makes a boneheaded call. If he messes something up clock management wise, then that's where the floor gets blamed. But for the most part 95% of it. Rogers have been great. This year's gonna be the M V P. The pressure is on Rogers. That's a strong duo because of the quarterback and that before You look at those two very strong do it could win. I'm not going to tell you it's gonna win because I have the best duo here. Quarterback. And coach, but that is in the running. Now. Golf. McVeigh. There's an imbalance here. Make they is a really damn good coach. Turn that team around, got him to the playoffs, then the next year got him to the Super Bowl last year, with everything crashing and burning and falling down. Shah McVeigh was still nine and seven. Chamakh baby in 97 was almost as if He was more like three and 13 with the feeling this offseason how many people and I was something that was wrong. Didn't pick the Rams to get to the playoffs this year, but how many people made it seem as if the Rams We're not even gonna be a thought and didn't have a prayer of going the postseason. Cha McVeigh got that team to the post season this year. Give him credit for hiring Brandon Staley because everyone's eviscerating him. How do you get rid of Wade Phillips? Brandon Brandon Staley. That's been a top five defense Now his offense hasn't been great. As of late, Okay, makers is playing well. We'll see if Cooper Cup comply. Robert Woods is a good, underrated wide receiver in this league. The one problem is Jared Golf. Big face telling you, Jared offices got Does he really his guy? Because last weekend who they start Started John Wolfe. For now, you could tell me and used to cop out always the injury. Oh, it was the bad thumb. You know, you sit him out, and he's only emergency. They clearly knew that If God wasn't if God had to get onto the field that he's gonna be able to And they don't even contemplate or be that concerned if the thought process of wolf or got hurt. What happens of golf gets hurt? Because they made Blake Bortles an active last week. Now this week, Wolf was gonna be inactive because he's hurt. And Blake Bortles gonna be active. But Having golf coming that game that quickly because of the Woolford injury told me that golf probably could have started. They like the what John Bull for brought to the table with his legs last week or the week before that up against the Cardinals. They want with Woolford over a banged up golf. Now, even when golf is 100% healthy, I don't think he's a great quarterback..

"It's finally here and the Broncos will finally get a chance to turn the page after this game today. Yeah. And, you know, I filled in for Logan and Lewis all week. And with that comes a lot of interviews with people that are important. John Elway. Well, I think you guys are gonna be here. One thing that he said to me coming up here a little later, but John Elway, Vic Fangio drew lock. I talk to Shelby Harris. I talked to Josie, Jule on guy. Talk to Bradley, Chuck and I talk to Dalton Prisoner. And all of them kind of universal, and I can't swear that this was a message from Vic, although I imagine it was said how big it will be to start the year off right, even though it's ending the season starting the year off, right, because we're in a new year, beating your rival going into the offseason with the Wind, Vic. Certainly when I ask him about the graphic, look, look, you guys when you know you'll get a little bit lower graphic and he's like Yeah, I worry about this game, and John said Essentially, something is like we are paid to win football games not to worry about draft picks on so They want to go in and beat the Raiders for a number of reasons. Revenge being one of them, but momentum. I think being the biggest one, and they want to not only win the game but play well, especially at the quarterback position because you've talked about this in the past, but just to reiterate going into week 17. It's been a fantastic job by the NFL. I gotta tell you, it feels like it's been a Herculean effort. To get all these games play in the ghetto week. 17 1st of all, but with week 17. There are a lot of rumors out there about who is in and who is out at the head coach position in NFL and you've said before. In the past that big Fangio was safest. That's still the case. Not only is still the case, it was confirmed by John Elway to me on Thursday, when he got a little confused by the question today, there was a report out there because I just didn't feel like mentioning Adam Schefter. His name don't know why I just didn't I say there's a report out there about Vic status, but The plan is and he's definitely coming back. And John's like, Yes, yes, and then pause because, yes, he's coming back. Those reports are wrong, and he thought I'd just meant other reports that said, Vic may be on the hot seat. Going back to December. 1st is when John Clayton put it out in the Washington Post it if the Broncos lost 10 games of Big Fangio's job Might be, uh, not his anymore, Right? Vic may lose that gig. I reached out that day to some people and I was December 1st set it on Broncos country tonight. Our pal Benjamin. All right. Tweeted it on December 3rd as well our NFL insider, and so none of us have thought that for the last month, then I think Adam probably talked to John at some point, and it was a report last Sunday. But to me in some ways it was it wasn't really report is just they made it a report. So I was glad that I was able to get John. On the record. Bic will be back and I expect the majority of his coaching staff specifically Pat Shurmur and likely Mike Shula. Maybe Mike has a chance to go to call plays and get a bump somewhere else. He might leave. But Shermer back calling plays for Drew Lock for a second straight year feels like a new almost certainty is the sense I get talking everybody over there and it'll be big for grew big for this offense before that building to have some continuity after being Patron was the fifth offensive coordinator in five years. And as we talked about a lot, it's Drew's six offensive coordinator and seven years Yeah, I mean, and that's it. It's an amazing thing that that Pat Shurmur I mean, he pretty much said this week that he plans to be back and that being the first time you would expect a huge jump. In in the quality of play from Drew lock being able to stick with the same guy, wouldn't you? Well, look, this isn't the SEC, although the SEC has a lot of pros in it, but the one year he had Continuity from his sophomore to junior year with Josh Hype on the older you QB That's now the head coach at Central Florida. All Drew did was set on SEC record for touchdown passes with 44. Let's be honest, Alberto was walking around there, but they don't have the receiving corps. At Missouri that say Mack Jones has had and to have had at Alabama the last couple years or the kids at Ellis. You put somebody's got some nice players. It's still the SEC neither 44 touchdowns. So I threw a couple weeks ago about that continuity of getting pat back, and he said it be awesome would be huge. Those were two of the adjectives he used and I get the passion. We may never be reinventing the wheel offensively, but some of those coaches to reinvent the wheel. Don't look so hot these days, right? How cha McVeigh look last week? Uh and we know how much everyone loves Shawn Shaman base. Innovation and ingenuity. So I just think having the same voice the same voices talking to him and then for the on the other side of the ball to you. You asked about Vic having that same consistency with Vic and Ed Donatell in year three for this defense when I was not gonna be the exact same pieces, A lot of these young guys are gonna be expected to doom or some of the vets won't be back and someone more uneven hardly here this year. But I just think consistency is going to be huge on both sides of the ball. The big question, mark me. Well, Tom McMahon be back. And if I had to bet I'd bet No. But, hey, stranger things have happened. BK. The target's on this kid on this team looked the way that they're supposed to look for the Denver Broncos. When you look at it, Jerry Judy, their first round draft pick from 2020 has 106 Targets. The next targeted player is North and with 87 targets, it seems that they're trying to work those high draft picks. Into positions of prominence with the team. But last week it was a big setback for Jerry Judy. What do you expect this week after having five crucial drops? I think you'll see Jerry Judy targeted upwards of 10 times again, assuming the matchup allows, and that's a good thing about playing. The Raiders is their defense just isn't very good and you will continue to break down the match up here. Throughout the rest of your show. But when you go to the matchup page in their 24th in yards per game, 27th in yards per play 29th and points per game 25th in passing defense yards per game. The Broncos are gonna have a chance to throw the football. They don't have much of a pass rush, so to speak other than Max. Max Crosby at times and so I think that you'll see Drew continue to fire the ball to drew lock and actually there to be fired. About two Jerry Judy. I asked through. The question that you've brought up before Al on Monday asked about icing guys out, and he said, You know, he's not Peyton Manning yet. And Jerry Judy's open his job. His number one jumps to throw to the open got and Jerry Judy kept getting open, so he kept throwing him the ball, he said. It might be different if it's one thing where you know you're getting called out or whatever you wanna Show a guy a lesson, but he's not at that point of his career. So he acknowledged that but said when Jerry's Open, he's gonna throw the ball and everybody to a man, including John Elway said that they're not worried. They just need Jerry. Oh, get over and fix it quickly..
