"We need to do here right in order to figure out what the next thing to do is it's very iterative and customers. Don't like that narrative they want the answer upfront. In proposal format spelled out in black and white and i think that puts them at a disadvantage and forces them to show that a bunch of money to an agency for stuff that they don't know cerny. Yeah that's almost the opposite end of the spectrum in another big bone to pick too. I think there's two things is that you know. An ad agency looks at just ads. And that's the only thing that they look at and they say the ads are going to solve everything without looking at anything after the click. And then there's the funnel companies that charge an exorbitant amount of money and know that they're going to be gone in sixty ninety days but don't really care because they've already collected. I think you need to do both together. But you need to make the diagnosis on the front end and mvp it like whenever we launch anything new like you'll probably see our ads for tier eleven. You'll see ads out there. And some of them are really shitty. Some of merg okay and some of them end up being good so we just mvp stuff we figure out like throw a few ideas against the wall what sticks and then figure out like the one that does get traction then we iterative on it. So when you're first starting out when you don't have an offer that's proven that's typically what you should do. You shouldn't just put all your money into one thing. You should test out lots of different ideas at low cost but if your business and you have a funnel or you have an offer that's proven it maybe two or three or four of more looking at a number of different customers right now like a customer. We talked to friday three different funnels and we said all right. What's the one. That's the big moneymaker for you right now. That's doing the best and we focused on that one..

"Where the m-2 ssd devices sequential read. Speed is faster than fifty five hundred megabytes per second. So you might surpass the the sequential read speed of their spec and they can't guarantee that game is running off. An external will perform the same way as they do often internal which. Then what are we doing. The point here was to try to get games to the load speeds of. Ps five games is one of its most fascinating features a game like ratchet and clank benefits. Quite a bit from that tech. And if you're telling me i can go out and spend a thousand dollars on a four terabyte. Ssd and you can't tell me that it's going to run that game. The same way is a mess. This is a god damn mess and you get my beta there. And they haven't certified anything maybe they're just like a. We're just to be safe. We're going to say all this stuff and maybe that eventually tightens up once more. Testing has been done or something but like what's this just. What's weird is that every other generation prior. They didn't really do anything different right like they offered a way to. Diy replacing the drive. It just that this time around there are these prerequisites and requirements. That are that are not you know one hundred percent end to the point you just made. Don't don't give you necessarily the same exact one to one experience as because all those all those drives were separate drives. They weren't on the pcp. They weren't hard mounted in a way. That ps five just seems to have this strange architecture situation where it's like. Oh this is also a thing you need to consider when you add. One of these super profess drives right. Yeah i mean. There were cases last generation where it was like. Oh games on an xbox one actually loading faster off an external usb. Then i'm the internal drive like weird cases like that like you like wait. What but that's just kind of how it was in some cases then and this is i mean like i think people are right when they say like whatever. It's something you just do once and never think about again and like the installation process is like literally year screen in there near done. It's not some arduous process. I think people could definitely do it. Obviously it's not as easy as slamming the expansion card into the back of an unexpected Xbox series x but it's not a it's not a massive technical undertaking to put this drive into a ps five if you've never seen an m. two before. I bet it's a bit scarier. You know what i mean because yeah because you danone and screw it and stuff like you know you go watch a video and you're like okay. I get it. Yeah okay. it's not a break it in half the right. of course you want. I wonder if the issue. That's because sony must've known that they would have had to have had larger hard drives in the. Ps five eventually. So i wonder was the original thoughts that by the time they were year or a year and a half or two years into this cycle that they could release a higher bigger hard drive version of it and then that would be the natural way that people upgrade and sell their old machines but because of the chip problems. That's probably not going to happen for three years now or something and they're trying to pivot or they must notes. It's a good question. Yeah yeah. I think it's a little bit of everything but not necessarily. I think it's probably still too early to expect like a new larger driving. Because i don't think drive. Prices have moved a enough to to make that a reality right. So i guess some of that is probably you're right. It probably is all tied into chip shortages. And all this other stuff the other thing is that when you go and look up. These drives on like say an amazon and a lot of other retailers. The drives that are being recommended by digital foundry and stuff like that. They're all sold out. Yeah so it's even hard to get a hold of these things even if you want you know even if you wanted one today it's not going to be the easiest thing in the world to get some of these i i haven't clicked on every single. Retailer listing to to check. But like you know. That's going to be a hassle so sony hasn't Sony hasn't come out and confirmed that there's any drives work but some manufacturers have mrs coming from Video games chronicle seagate and western digital are out there saying hey we are drives work in the ps five. Wd has its wd black line which that's the external ssd that i use on my ps. Five right now is. Wd black and it's it's fine for running. Ps four games off of for sure. And they got some tweets from mark cerny with no link owning mark. Cerny where he he went out and and tweeted about the wd black drive that they that he ended up buying a couple of those. And then weird that this is where news zappa videogames chronicle also reported mark cerny liked a tweet. Someone asked if the fire khuda five thirty. Ssd from seagate was a good option. That's funny so that's not necessarily endorsement but he liked that tweets sir not an endorsement through. So we don't really know so then yes then. Then you've got the the digital foundry list is seems like a good. It's a list of drives that they that they say meet the listed requirements And they seem to have tested. At least some of these. I guess but but some of them require an additional heat sink some of them come with heat sinks on them already and so that aspect of it seems like it could be a real pain in the ass and they have a separate list of of compatible heat sinks. This is a lot to be a lot gets to be a lot on. Install some stuff. it's fine. Don't worry about it but like that drive is so fucking small put. That's like yeah. I'm kind of with you wherever like it's actually not that. Maybe it's not that big a deal right now all wait for people to figure this out who are not me but for me. The bullet point saying that. You might get a drive that meets all these requirements. But it's still not as fast. That's the part where i go like. Okay well wait a minute. You can't even tell me that these drives are gonna definitely work and then certain drives are going to read differently. The more full they are so is that become factor. Is that the next phase of this where it's like well. It runs great as long as you. Empty out the rest of the drive. It's pretty crazy but that made it from whereas out there and if you've got selected for that beta then maybe you're already doing this. I don't know. Or maybe you're just experiencing i guess three d audio through speakers. They added that and there. It was previously only available through headphones. Headset yeah. I don't know i've heard much about how well that is or is not working. But i believe that's in that beta firmware.

"Creative thanks so much for taking the time to join us. Thank you for having me cerny. Yeah it is my pleasure to have you here so i came across your book. It didn't start with you. How inherited family trauma shapes. We are how to end the cycle at the recommendation of a girl that i wanted to date with. And you know. I've read tons and tons of self help books trying to solve many of my problems and this was one of the few that i really honestly came out of it and thought. Wow i have never gotten so much clarity from a book but before we get into all that i want to start asking what i think is a very relevant question given the subject matter of you're working that is what is one of the most important things that you learn from one or both of your parents that have influenced and shaped who you become in what you've ended up doing with your life. That's that is a good question. I've never been asked before. I would say my father took things apart. He was very mechanical. I would sit and watch him do this. He would build things and take things apart. And i think that in a sense I feel that. I'm doing the same thing taking a story apart when working with people and looking at the deepest intricacies in some ways i see myself as the the guy with the flashlight shining it on the. You know the symptoms and the behaviors that we can't explain so would whether i'm working with Clinicians or non clinicians into this area. That's relatively new in this idea of generational trauma and it's a logical effects. I have for that question. I never questioned before so it makes me wonder if you went and decided to start taking human beings apart at least their stories and their mindsets but most people might look at parent taking things apart. And think oh. I'm going to become an engineer or somebody who builds things like. How in the world did it lead you down vis path of all things somebody who does what you do. I know the answer to that is twofold. One is always a deep curiosity of the intricate intricacies of thing. Things into the deeper answer is i. I fell apart. Editing in Isolation
"Welcome back to another episode of this week in Photo I. Am your host Frederik van Johnson today. Lee Herbert is on the show. He's a final cut pro expert who has been using the absence like the early days of the software I think when it yet cert- up with a crank or something. Now Lee is the expert. He's talking all over the world these days. Virtually we're GONNA talk about how his business has changed as an editor that's Kinda stuck sheltering in place like the rest of us Lee Herbert Welcome showman how you doing. Much. I'm much like the rest of the will of surviving this year. So yeah, we we're getting. We're we're we're based in Melbourne. So we are now in I think we twelve or thirteen time has no relevance anymore of of lockdown here. So Yeah, it's It is what it is. It is what? gives us the the Reader's Digest. Story the first resume paragraph of WHO Lee Herbert is. Yeah, the first line, which ironically as an editor I, struggle to keep things brief when I'm talking. which. Because as an editor, obviously your main job is to make sure that you tell your story in the most short and succinct way. But when I'm telling marine. Story. But. So a little bit about me I have had many over the years but I worked in the apple wheels for ten years of a favorite Tom was that as a final per China. But at the same time, I also did a lot of theatre and TV and things like that and so I sort of ended up wanting to do a lot more production work. So I left Apple. Back in two thousand, thirteen I think two, thousand, thirty, two, thousand, fourteen, and started mining production company I. Still focused a favorite on training really enjoy the training side of things but yes oh, you know thankfully, we've been going from strength strength and so been doing. Mostly corporate videos for large and medium and sometimes small corporate clients my passion Israeli documentaries because I. Love. I love telling people stories in learning people's stories and Yes. BUYS. That's that's the the high level view of what I do and why do it? That's cool and you love this stuff I mean you you've been editing on I mean obviously as evidenced by posters on the wall behind you, you are a fan of apple products? And you have not working. We're apple a for a while since I've known you've been contracting on an offer. Those guys, right. Yeah it's. Yes on an. been doing doing stuff for them. Luckily I get to do stuff for up dump stuff cerny done stuff for a lot of stuff in the medical field. So we worked visor with books for GlaxoSmithKline. Quite a few local companies here as well. Obviously was the big stuff. But yes I've been doing a lot of corporate and I really. It's funny. The corporate side of things I think photography might get this quite a lot as well is that I get quite a lot of friends of mine who are in the field but they work more in in narrative do soap operas they do movies and things like that and they say to me Oh you know I'd hate to do corporate stuff because you sort of a confined and be. You know you might not have. A particularly exciting product to talk about and I was like, yeah. But that's like that's the really cool thing for me is I love the idea of having to look at a widget and go how can I make this widget coup? How can I find the story and helped tell the widget story so that you know the people can get it like I was just having a virtual meeting with a client earlier this week in you know she was saying that they want to build a relationship with the production company because I don't just want to talk about the speeds and feeds of what they sell they WanNa talk about the benefits they want to talk about you know. got these cool buttons but here's why does cool buttons are going to make your life better and here's why you should buy it. So I really like that aspect of. Doing corporate work yeah, yeah, this whole world though you know as you as you look at just sort of the shifting of where things are right now, you know like the title of this, the stream slash recording is editing an isolation and as you and I were talking about offline last week I think it was there has been some positive you know obviously. You know the whole thing is negative. There's no way to spin it as positive but there are some cracks in the clouds and that are revealing new revenue streams that you didn't have prior to the whole pandemic. He talked about that a little bit of how things have shifted from Lee. Herbert hopping on a plane first-class to go to a gig versus. Lebron up skype in firing of invoices. What does it look like? It's definitely Dif- Liam. been quite different from that. So I'll given. So obviously like I had when when everything sort of started going crazy I had at least five to ten jobs that were either put on hold canceled, and obviously I'm not going to get flourine outs to the USO Asia wherever it is GonNa fly me out to to shoot stuff for them but the interesting converse of that is. Interestingly enough events because my my company we do we do a few events. We got a couple of in the middle of the year and then a couple at the end of the year. But like regular ones, men bits and bobs coming but we didn't really do a lot of events and funnily enough a lot of the work that's coming from lately is from virtual conferences. So I've had quite a few corporate clients who they've got staff members who are presenting it at virtual conferences, and thankfully they have realized very quickly that just doing it on a Webcam is not a good look for the company. I think we've all kind of like one of my biggest concerns when when the whole lockdown thing started is if you watch the news just about everyone that they were interviewing on the news, which is in the terrible lighting situation with you know they they elect either under the nose looking straight up they nose as what will up somewhere and you got people in the background working with their underwear it was. Dogs and cats living together complete my him and I was looking at that going. Oh, my goodness I. Really Hope People don't get used to it and go. Okay. Well, this is just how you know. You're not going to have good lighting. You're not going to have good camera. You're not gonNa have good microphone and we just going to be eastern that's going to be fine. I was like I'm out of work. This is awful. But thankfully, what's happened is a lot of my clients have looked gaunt. Yeah. You know we could do better. So there's been a favorite of consulting but I've done. So locally here in Melbourne between lockdowns, I worked with quite a few clients who realize that they were going to be working from home lot. Warn I helped them get even if it was just bit a webcams or just. A little you know like, for example, a lot of them when they could get them in stock. This thing called the Algata cam link between you and me there's tons of these for twenty bucks on Amazon that you can get instead of big fancy expensive ones. which allow you to connect. Dias Laura Ramirez camera into your computer used as Webcam as I am with my ach three now.

Sony Clarifies PS5 Backward Compatibility
"Did mention sort of the one substantial actual bit of PS Five News. We got inbetween shows of course covered Mark Sunnis in-depth tech talk about the PS five. From last week that was originally meant to be. Gd Talk so if you didn't check out that episode you go listen to last week's to figure our thoughts on that a very complex discussion but after the fact. Sony updated their playstation blog. Post about this not once but twice to clarify some of the backward compatibility confusion that stemmed from was unclear about mark. Sunni's fifty minute long explanation. What could possibly leave room for clarification? Of course no. It was very buttoned up into the point and nothing uncertain for fans know there was some Scuttlebutt even having Turnley about whether or not cerny was discussing the fact that all of the library would be backward compatible and only one hundred games would be available launch or if only one hundred games would be available in the PS fives boost mood from ps four or some other combination of. Maybe we'll only actually get to play. Twenty Games backward compatible The update that the playstation blog actually put out was with all of the amazing games. Npr's catalog we've devoted significant efforts to enable our fans to play their favorites NPS five. We believe that the Omer overwhelming majority of the four thousand. Ps Four titles will be playable. Ps fought were expecting backward compatible. Titles will run any boosted frequency on. Ps five so that they can benefit from higher or more stable frame rates and potentially higher resolutions were currently evaluating Games on a title by title basis to spot any issues that need adjustment from the original software developers in his presentation. Mark Cerny provided a snapshot into the top one hundred most played ps four titles demonstrating. How well are backward? Compatibility efforts are going. We are have already tested. Hundreds of titles are preparing to thousands more as we move toward launch. We will provide updates on backward compatibility along with much more news in the months ahead. Stay tuned. So that's kind of worrisome. Honestly we dug into it a little bit last week but it it sort of makes me think that That fans are going to be finding problems in these games that weren't caught initially by Sony's in house developers and testers because the if they're going through on a case by case basis. I don't know if that's how the xbox hard works because their message was very clear of just like all the old games work here now whereas playstation they're like what we it seems like they basically prioritized that most played once the most popular ones Which is good. It's a good start Indefinitely better than the complete lack of backwards compatibility. We've had them. Ps Four but It makes it seemed like to me. You're going to play some like you know. Sort of niche game two years from now and find a bunch of technical hiccups in it. And then you're GONNA ask them the patch amount and they're going to say we don't. We can't justify the time and resources to do that. Like I have the playstation now APP. I don't know where I might have stuck that in the folder that might be just like pushed all the way down the train from other games of playing before it Because it's something I don't really use a lot but it's also like they. They've changed up the languaging on that a little bit when it started it was just like a streaming thing and now you can download some games and so I think they really need to scream from the rooftop sue and not just for people like awesome people listen to show but like you know con. Consumer Carl or whatever like the guy walks into a store. Yeah I mean like right now. You can download. Ps Four NPS Games and play them off line. And that's not really the thing that I think they're shouting about enough because I've thought about man. I would love to revisit some. Ps Two games. I don't have the chance to. I can download these re masters of the final fantasy games. When they're on sale but game passes get literally every remastered final fantasy game from the past like two generations. So why wouldn't I just wait to play

Ps Five News in the months ahead. Stay tuned so it seems the playstation five will be more backwards compatible than we thought after last week's presentation and it looks like it will also improve some playstation four games but that statement does seem to all but confirmed that the playstation five won't Games prior to the playstation for generation. At least not in the way where you can just pop the diskin. And you're all set like you'll be able to on xbox series x backwards. Compatibility is a tricky thing. I love when it exists and in the long term if you're a modest collector it's awesome to have something like the we you which means you don't have to hang onto a we the we you plays all we games without issue and it's great but I always do wonder how much time people spend playing backwards compatible games. It's a kind of thing that is nice to have initially when the console is brand new and there. Aren't that many games to play it. So you play previous JEN Games on your new console but in the long term how much our players really taking advantage of backwards compatibility it's a comforting feature. But is it a well used feature? I am definitely playing devil's advocate here and I want all systems to be backwards compatible to forever but from Sony Microsoft and even Nintendo's perspective is time and money better spent on features players will take more advantage of. I don't know the answer that question but I hope the playstation five plays all playstation four games and more in the same way the xbox series x will play all xbox one.
Everything We Learned from Mark Cerny’s PlayStation 5 Deep Dive
"Cerny held a fifty ish minute discussion about the tech behind the PS five. There were no games. Shown they did not show the box or the controller or released price. Any of the biggest stuff that we're waiting for but we did see a couple of major things including some of the tech behind quickly. Go through some of that even though it's a lot of numbers I don't quite fully understand but we have a lot of resources on June to help you understand it So they confirmed that be. Gps AMD RADIAN OUR DNA to based graphics engine are retracing acceleration and it has variable frequency up to two point twenty three Gigahertz With ten point three teraflops and we'll get to the big tariff op discussion and a little bit It has GD are six sixteen bytes memory four hundred forty gigabytes of bandwidth per second A solid state drive with eight hundred twenty five gigabytes and five point five gigabytes per second read bandwidth raw It will support. Ps Five Game. Discs that are ultra hd blu-ray up to one hundred gigabyte disks and the audio and it will be the tempest three d audio tech so there was a lot in addition to all of those terminologies and discussion of some of the parts. That are being involved in that fifty minute talk and I think we'll break down the biggest points but what was everyone's overall impression of this discussion. I guess I'll start because this is weird and we can't really judge who's GonNa talk fast. I came home with like I thought that it was Off this is great I thought that it was a I mean. It was very very dry presentation from Sony and I think that that was to be expected considering it was already like it was always going to be at GDP star. It was a very like I tweeted out. It was a very cut and dry. Gdp presentation it was very much flow develop. His it was for It was kind of like A. Here's how easy it is to develop. Organised system is how easy. It's going to be to develop on this. That was the one the major message from a consumer side. I thought that the history stuff like even though we already knew a lot about the say well we knew that it was going to heaven as saying that you know as a capable of that really excited me the basically the facts that they said that they had to like in some games he can to slow it down because it's actually too fast is amazing. I'm also really interested in what your side of things the Three d audio. I love the idea that it can be so impressive that it sounds like it's coming from the real world Those I noticed that he really broadly he went into really specific. Ticks off but for for my mind as a consumer and not not in video game developer. Those are the things that stood out. Yeah I'm with you on that. I think it was interesting. That like we. We've been saying teraflops. Oh year and Mark Cerny made it sound like that's not really the best way to compare power Just putting teraflops against each other Ps five loses to xbox series Ex It has lasted them. But it's making up for it in other departments. I think it's like we're also seeing specs from both sides would which is essentially what they would look like overclock Specifically like the five. It's like this is how this will operate at Max capacity and I don't know how often that's actually going to be used the three audio things really interesting 'cause aid. They mentioned something about sort of like digging into it. It was like the capability of sending photos of your ears to Sony so they can get a better understanding of how exactly to cater sound specifically to them and it reminded me of a couple years ago at IGA and we had to get. I have B.'s. fitted and this woman came in and filled our ears with wax and like a hose and basically created this thing that fits perfectly inside of our ear so that went out cruisers yelling at us on a real show if we ever have a video game convention again or anything like that like the good old days Will be able I. It will fit perfectly. It won't be falling out. I've I've done live shows much where this thing's falling out of my ear like the idea of having a custom custom audio and accustom headphone or something like that can interface properly with the PS. Five outside of the customization of controller your hardware. Nothing like that is really interesting. It's the kind of stuff that I don't ever think about when I think about the next generational leaps. It's something that far smarter. People have to come up with his. Mo is just like Games Graphics Loading Times frame rate and for something like this. It's like Oh this is very clearly a next step. This is something new. This is something interesting. And it's it's it's really awesome and it's funny. You say just right there I wanna point out and then Max will get to you He you said you know when I think about the next year and I think games graphics and we don't normally say games graphics sound even though sound can be important in sound at least on the seventy five things in the specially insurnace talk one of the things. He's most interested in. Is I think elevating sound the discussion around sound in games to the level. We talk about visuals and whether or not that happens. Of course we'll see where it goes but Max. How did you feel about talk over all before we Dick Downs? Don't any kind of screwed up by not properly framing this as the GD talk they were going to have for game developers people to chat or credit back going. I think obviously this is not for us. This is not for presses now for consumers this is not for fans this is. This is something that was made for people specifically who make video games and know how they're made in how you utilize technology to bring your dreams to life and whatnot I think it's really surprising that they didn't they didn't try to sort of like. Just disclose that sooner you know because it most people don't know what GDP is they're just like. Hey here's that big playstation five reveal. You've been waiting for. I was Kinda shocked that we didn't get like they didn't have any anything that had a little sizzle to it like. We didn't have like a big. You know like even just a cool motion graphic of like. Hey here's the new controller. Here's what the box looks like right now all we have is the logo reveal from from CBS and then a whole bunch of stuff from our external who was awesome like brilliant and we should listen to him obviously but like from a marketing standpoint? This feels like pretty much like putting the cart before the horse and it felt like something. Kinda slip through the cracks. You know yeah the the timing on all of it is bizarre because we are. We are starving for news on this thing and this is not exactly what the mass market in general populace has looking for. It made me think about like how like ghost ghostbusters. Like the Egon movie. You know it's like thanks to starve of ghostbusters. Like Egan's awesome. He's integral you need him there. But if he was talking for eighty percent of the film people wouldn't remember it as fondly it. This is like we want. We want all we have is like the dumbest thing in the world. Which is the logo and the smartest thing in the world? Which has this presentation and I need something in the middle. That sort of just like this is how this applies like in English on. You know like this is the part where the you're holding the controller this is. This is what the box looks like. We've seen so much from the series x already. And we're still really in the dark with a lot of stuff on playstation. I agree I think that they should have been a consumer-friendly bridge between the logo. Reveal end in a deep dive on the specs like I am pleased we got the deep diving was fix. I'm pleased that we were invited to be part of that. Jd Talk that we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise would have sought out on the volt but yeah they're definitely needed to be a bridge. Because I think that the the wording around this was clear enough consumers. A lot of people did think that they were gonNA get a big. Ps Five reveal. And that's not what

"Details THE PLAYSTATION FIVE. Sony basically took its planned. Gd presentation about the technical specifications of the playstation five and placed Mark Cerny in front of a Green Screen. In order to give the presentation he would have given at the show and while it was awkward to look at it was full of interesting and dense information from a very smart man who is good at explaining things at the same time. Sony insurnace presentation went live digital foundry released an article about the presentation that they were able to watch early and they also added some additional details it received from speaking with Sunni separately including specific numbered specs about the playstation five Sunni. Opened the presentation. Basically saying there won't be any information about Games which was disappointing but not unexpected in making the system. Cerny said he and Sony had three principles kept in mind when developing it listening to developers one balancing evolution and revolution to and finding new dreams. Which is kind of the idea that you have to think. Beyond just processing power and try to think of unique ways that developers can use the system to make interesting games and really be able to new ideas. A large portion of the presentation covered the advantage of using a solid state hard drive and SSD Sunni said that including the SSD was the thing most requested from developers. He has visited over the last few years and he thinks it really is the key for the next generation from their. The presentation got very very technical and talked in depth about how games pull data from discs. And how pulling data from different areas of a disc really slows everything down and how the SSD basically eliminates the process for. The computers need to seek out data in some ways. The presentation felt like it was more about the advantage of having an SSD than it was about. How great the playstation five is going to be. Richard ledbetter wrote for Euro Gamer and digital foundry. Sony's actual implementation is something else. With performance rated. At two orders of magnitude faster than the playstation four two gigabytes data can be loaded in one quarter of a second meaning that in theory the entirety of playstation five sixteen gigabytes can be filled in just two seconds as game creators. We go from trying to distract the player from how long fast travel is taking like those spiderman subway rides to being so blindingly fast that we might even have to slow that transition down says Sunni in terms of teraflops which has become the new comparison metric in the same way we used bits to compare the snes to genesis. The playstation five has ten point. Two eight where series X has twelve. It's all going to come down to. The quality of the Games ultimately antitrust Cerny when he says that tracking teraflops is not the purists. Way To measure the level of computational power from a console but for what it's worth the series will have more. Sony also addressed the issue of fan noise from the PS four today and how they are trying to fix it for PS. Five ledbetter wrote Sunni acknowledged thermal solutions on prior generation hardware may not have been optimal but the concept of operating to a set. Power budget makes the concept of heat. Dissipation easier task to handle despite the impressive clocks coming from the CPU and GP cerny stated that he is very optimistic about reducing that noise in general. The other big thing from the presentation was Sunni's focus on audio and improving audio across the board for all users. Not just those. With impressive sound systems cerny spoke at length about the advantages of three D audio and how implementing it well actually depends on the shape of the users is ears and in the future he even sees people scanning their own ears in order to get the best audio out of a game. Initially though the playstation five will have vastly improved audio especially with headphones that will let players better track of what's going on in the game. They're playing using three D audio cerny used tracking down enemies and Dead Space A- game that he called old school which made me feel very old. Thanks Mark Cerny to help explain. How Three D audio gives you way more advantages in feeling like you are truly in virtual space like right now. We kind of can tell if something's coming from the left or the right but in theory with Three d audio you'll have a much better perception of where an enemy in dead space might be hiding. Some other details uncovered include backwards compatibility the playstation five will be backwards compatible with playstation four games with the caveat that it will support quote the top one hundred games at lunch. There was no word on potential backwards compatibility with playstation three two or one at Cetera. Ledbetter was also able to answer some questions about expandable storage writing ever since Mark. Cerny first revealed.

"Five is what the next position we'll be called now we know and knowing is half the battle los new details about this week coming holiday twenty twenty the first release window the first Nexgen release window we they get some real news about like hardware stuff yeah but I also like that they just got out of the way like it stops us having to do that awkward like the next playstation and Mike Scarlet and like you know we knew it didn't really know it was coming twenty twenty and we knew that we didn't really know what it's called the PS five so I appreciate that it's just put that to bed yeah it makes it easier to write about sure to say playstation five not what we assume is playstation five and we assume comes out and bunny twenty are they just gonNa keep it forever will there eventually just be a police ten yup I think so playstation x gotta be do you remember those ads there was at ps two or three there were like fake it wasn't ad for like the playstation Ni- I remember for gaming the distant future what do you guys think holiday twenty twenty you guys feel like you'll be ready to buy a new playstation yeah carrots I'm Eddie ready you're ready right now I would the thing is I have two places at my house and one of them is on its last leg and I have to just this black Friday you buy a playstation for a year I'd rather just replace them both to ps five yeah that's fair I never upgraded to the pro so I'm definitely ready to Oh cool cool people that got the pro or the xbox one acts particularly the one exits doing fourcade more competent way like you know maybe they don't feel quite as rate upgrade but I skipped both so probably word of this. PS for a deal on black Friday you can just read all about it on Nigerian deals they'll probably be that is a joke but they'll probably be like a hundred and fifty bucks it's like last year they had the slim and it was like two hundred bucks with Spiderman and so it's like is it going to be two hundred bucks with Orlands or distracting or something like that it's like that is what I'm looking for you WANNA slim you don't Wanna pro will so it's for my wife and so she I have a pro and she has launch. ps four that is just like has pt on it so we've got that around but it really doesn't even accept this kind of like you got to be like getting there so I'm just oh by her slim because she she doesn't care I think this is the year and it's GonNa get even worse last year where many game developers have just kind of given up on making games run and like a good competent way on like a base xbox embedded control as amazing that game is is like it's a you know there are problems with running that game on a base. PS four and two yeah and I you know I only saw like an animated gift fund read it but like the new raid in destiny is having problems on a launch x one like it's just so I think that's what I'm ready for I'm ready for developers to once again be able to make console games for one console like instead of being like okay here's assassin's creed Odyssey and this somehow has to run on the launch xbox now it's going to be like this is an xbox scarlet does that playstation five game yeah I think that's what I'm however however short that window of time may be until yeah they'll be a revision the a little bit of a crossover to where they're still making them for peaceful for but we got a bunch of hardware details on places and five as well but I also want to point out that the way Sony is rolling out information about the console is continues to baffle me very strange I think highly unusual what part about it well it was a playstation blog post like they're not having a big showcase for playstation for like a big event consistently been through wired magazine to also it's like every time Martin's earnings in the area he's away it's almost like what does wired have on so that's my fear they must have dug up this because this occasionally happens where you know a reporter may dig up information and they say hey we're gonna run this story and then the publisher decides right hold on we'll play ball so that at least the story as it comes out won't be this fragmented thing I mean I think a lot of it is deaf kits are getting the hands of more and more third parties so some of the details like I think I speculate that that's why we got controller details is because controller prototypes are probably already in the hands of people that are not Sony employees anymore so it's like even though they're under NDA and everybody's professional once that stuff leaves your four walls like that those details we're gonNA start leaking anyway maybe they left it at a bar around the corner from Wires men would not be the first time I mean wouldn't that also be around the corner from our office I know we don't go to the right bars also but Sean Laden is leaving playstation or has left which one which I I'm not sure it announced that he was leaving I mean in general they all Manson was also weird because normally do something more for Malaika blog post They just did this like innocuous tweet so everyone's like wait that's not how they do thank you for your service into the next generation of playstation like they don't really have they have Shuhei Yoshida but aside from that they don't have like a face of the brand out Jack Trenton was there ah assured in the PS four yeah and then he left yeah strange you would think like twelve months from now everything's baked the council's done the launch lineups cited that would feel like a better time for maybe some executive departures Feels a little early yeah I think so too well maybe intentionally so if you're not prepared to usher in the PS fight now is the right time to leave so someone else can start of pick that up and then decide to be the face and carried out leave a little less confusion you want to do it all right I'm Dan I don't want Mark Cerny to just run everything I he seemed like this like tech you know in the garage inventing things and stuff like that I can just picture being the face of being three Industry Yeah I like the egg heads well let's talk about some of these details then it's getting the new controller we stayed don't think they've called the dual shock five yet although I would assume that's what it's become will include haptic feedback which just fancy rumble that sounds like gimmicky things a that was an xbox one controller from launch and like racing games used it yeah and that's it I mean everyone talks about the fans see rumble in the switch controlling and like I think it's completely overrated jacquet grumbled to me plus one party game when like a shoot Mario Odyssey used a little bit could be a case of developers just not but it's also I guess my point is that this is already exists and has been underutilized it's not the most exciting next feature now I think that well I know you're going to get to it but the trigger sound more fund adaptive vigors. Yeah so developers will be able to through the coding of the game we'll be able to change detention that you feel on your triggers that's interesting so I should feel more like you know emmy downsides will be ask sneezy but like the back of bolstering have more resistance on your finger that's seems a lot more intriguing to me personally yeah that can be could be cool if you're doing it I just thought of it like if the dark souls if you have like a smaller sword maybe not you but if you're playing if you have like a small sword or like a heavy sword maybe it's maybe it's heavier Richard. I'm excited about it but you're never going to be like forcing the trigger it's going to be pretty minimal right so I don't know being finger exercises in preparation in the name of ah accessibility like I love the xbox what's the name of their now see adaptive controller controller lecture give people complete freedom to recap the controls how they want I don't know that there's a particular you know accessibility concern around you know adaptive triggers quality of life improvements The control is supposed to have a higher capacity if that trace news the most exciting and they said it slightly heavier sorry the last thing on the controller but not as heavy as an xbox controller with batteries and the controller is on the light I wanNA come a little bit heavier a bit more substantial also charges with USB which is very cutting because I love you know being able to. I mean it's up it's something so it comes from a long history of developers trying to make Games look more look more realistic so like we used to have rationalizing is kind of our Oh to where it's measuring how light looks and then we had like cute little advances from their words like shadows and reflections but now you can do that in a former realistic way I think the way that it's been described as it's like physics space look on the image rather than a creative base look at it so it's going to be far more realistic and when you look at unlike red dead too and it's so beautiful with its lighting and it's it's God raised coming through the trees and whatnot yeah but imagine what they can do to make that look even
Sony confirms PlayStation 5 name, holiday 2020 release date
"One of the rope reports sufficiently called the playstation five and it is coming holiday twenty twenty go this is I'm so excited to be here on this day justice shit shit on the energy in the in the in the building just are you how many ps fives are you going to buy all my seven Oh man and you never know how many I like to have backups all right I like somebody works just in case something goes down this is Sony's own Jim Ryan over at the playstation blog but I'm gonNA jump into a wired report in the middle of it 'cause I'm crazy so since we originally unveiled our next generation console on April we know that there's been a lot of excitement and interest in hearing more about what the future of Games we'll bring today I'm proud to share that our next generation console we'll be called playstation five and we'll be watching in time for holiday twenty twenty these updates may not be a huge surprise but we won confirm them for our playstation fans as we start to reveal additional details about our vision for the next generation wired magazine covered these updates and more in stories that posted this morning I really appreciate that they wanted to give us the released date and you're like you know this is what it is here we're not gonNA do a huge event or whatever they tell you yeah I wanna get into that because this has been rollout of it hasn't been traditional playstation slash video games however Jim in this blog post is going to go into the details of his more and what he's talking about there bullet points from the wired article though or this again talking about that solid state drive that it'll be running on explaining how that actually works and while faster get rid of low times Mark Cerny does a great job yeah way too smart to have anything to do video games mark stern is one of those rare people that when I read the quote from him I read it I can hear him saying yeah me too yeah got a very distinct voice of Personnel physical games for the playstation five will use one hundred gigabyte optical discs inserted into an optical drive that doubles as a four K. Blu ray player they started talking about how the UI playstation four is pretty stagnated doesn't feel alive they started saying they're gonNa be more of that meaning Cerny goes into Code here multi-player Games servers will provide the call and so with the set of joint -able activities in real time single player Games will provide information like what missions you could do in what words you might receive completing them and all of those choices we visible in the U. I as a player you just jump right into whatever you like end quote cool they were talking about here like right now I'd see Kevin playing borderline ends I'd say Bruce Playing God of war but I would still be to actually know what was going on I have to join the games to see what was going to watch more of a here it'll be able from a glance be able to do it and understand if I wanted join right in that's actually a a lot of PC launchers do that right now sorry no bet like we put the bit aside for a little while if you look at Fortnight Gamer Apex game whatever it will how many people are left it'll tell you how many minutes are in the game as right now playstation it will do that of like yeah good point four thirty three left but it won't tell you like it's a specific and you're talking very specifically I think as like across the board God this will be the standard this is what it looked like controllers are going to be there earlier than the dual shock four but tha but lighter than an xbox controller with batteries in it this is because because of how they're moving away from the dual shock and using haptic feedback but we'll get to that in a second that's one of Jim's won't things then this right from the wired article while a number of studios already had their playstation five kits the controller prototypes began rolling out much more recently in no one is ready the name specific titles they're developing for playstation five here we got everybody your light listen up for this one we're working on a big one right now says Marco Thrush isn't a blue point games which most recently worked on last year's playstation four remake of classes. I'll let you figure out the rest so it's got to be said of the clauses no way they're doing it again but like not not on the remake but I'm saying like a sequel do that's what he said a big one a big one eight now you figure out what do you think it is I don't hold on let's get through all this information here this buffet playstation news before we start ain't GonNa part like Savages Hotel California right stab it with their steely nice but they just can't kill the beast I was thinking about Hotel California this morning four more this is back to Jim the playstation blog refers to something I'm quite excited about a preview of the next controller that will ship with the playstation five one of our goals with the next generation is to deepen the feeling of immersion when you play games and we had the opportunity with our new controller to re imagine how the sense of touch can add to that immersion to that end there are two key innovations with the playstation fives new controller I we're adopting haptic feedback to replace the rumble technology founding controllers since the fifth generation of consoles you truly feel a broader range of feedback so crashing into a wall in a race car feels much more much different than making tackle on the football field you can even the sense for a variety of textures when running through fields of grass or plotting through mud the second innovation is something we call adaptive trick triggers which have been corporate added into the trigger buttons L. to slash our two developers can program the resistance of the triggers that you feel the tactile sensation of drawing a bow and Arrow or accelerating an offroad vehicle doc you're terrain in combination with the haptic this can produce a powerful experience that better simulates various actions game creators have started to receive early versions of the new controller and we can't wait to see what their imagination goes with the where their imagination goes with these new features at their disposal so was I write about the happenings in the switch correct St Rumble and all that jazz that's that's kind of what I thought so I assume that now the controller will have that feel of Ajoy Con if you're playing the switch share Yadda I think it's going to be more precision more stuff again wired article of when the reporter gets down there he got to try different thought and he talks about like going through mud in feeling sensations resistance of sand walking through that that's great yeah no really is more immersion like that it's cool and I think it's what they need to go for right I think games are at such an interesting point where you remember growing up and it would be like any S to snes snes to MCC for right huge jump in our into this thing where don't get me wrong playstation for looks better than ps three but it's not night and day Oh my Ashtray playstation five and four K. and all this other jazz in what eight K. and whatever it's going to be facing when we do it it's going to be these incremental upgrades but if they're doing it across the board on everything that's exciting being mark Cerny talked about ray tracing and said it will be hardware accelerated not so that was such a appreciate nerdy drills sounds like I'm not going to get into but correct yeah I'm glad he said it because I know a lot of people complain about we'll know it's has to be hardware can't be software so anyways mark knows what to do that right at the upright that's where he's like
Tensions Over Kashmir Rise but India Says No Plans for War
"The aspect of this crisis of course which caused the whole world to hold its breath certainly instantly at the time is is the prospect of renewed nude confrontation military confrontation that is between pakistan and india over kashmir which has happened before several times. Do we get a sense yet of whether that is he is a live prospect this time round or does pakistan appear not keen on that eventuality box son is said that they don't intend and to go to war and india thankfully said the same thing. I don't envisage this turning into a full-blown conflict. There will be skirmishes. There will be shelling from both sides of the border and there will be incidents sadly off casualties of villages on either side being hit but this is not going to escalate and the concern that the international community has about this turning into a full blown nuclear conflict. I would say <hes> off the mark cerny you will have politicians on both sides light using the extremist narrative but it's not going to turn into that situation <hes> if you look at the situation in the region <hes> it doesn't get dot wallet. We had that incident in february but that was quickly. Resolved didn't escalated beyond a certain

"Who have reached the age of eighteen is the school setting a place where we should be teaching these things. Well. My next guest, says, no in the center ring of the conservative circus. We have citizen. Diane Douglas and Diane, you have an op Ed out in the air Zona daily independent a came out to last Thursday. The issue was on sex education and is coming before the Zona state board of education, can you give us a little bit of background on your concerns to Cerny? There's no such thing as safe sex for kids. Well, there is absolutely no safe sex for kids. But yet, what Alfred c Kinsey and Planned Parenthood and partners with playboy and seekers have been doing is sexualizing our children. For decades now, and we've been in a pretty safe place, relatively speaking in Arizona. But unfortunately since this new superintendent took office a year ago. She stated her goal was to make sure all of this is imposed on our children. James, in my opinion, this along with the family for parents to educate their children appropriately and properly. And in my opinion to get this before the board the way they're doing. It has been nothing less of yet. More shenanigans on the part of people who are supposed to be watching out for our best interests. Diane Douglas let me ask you something. Because it seems to me that this has been the sexual relation of children has been picking up speed steam of like for the last ten or twenty years. But in the last two or three years, it has really hit like the afterburners here. What do you think is behind this, recent Neil surge in sexualizing kids, especially in school? I been an ongoing agenda for very long time. I can't almost help. But wonder if part of the surge that we've seen over the last several years in part of what we see in our country that with the in my opinion with the election of President Trump. We're seeing a shall we say, more conservative leaning what they called many, many years ago? The silent majority is now waking up again and say, no. And I think the other side is feeling we've got to get this stuff in place before we lose any opportunity. I can't help. But wonder if that fit know that's a that's a pretty observation because you're right. We have President Trump in. He is appointing conservative supreme court justices are reshaping the court that is now starting to not lean. Right. Lease elise. Come back to the middle. And maybe it is a this is a result of the left starting to panic over what they the freedom that they thought they once had to sexualize kids and just sexualize the culture in general. And it's always been even since, you know before John Dewey in the cultural Marxist philosophy. The socialist for loss of if you will. It's always kind of been a steady drip, so people don't notice what's happening how it's happening in what the full agenda is. But now it seems like full speed ahead because I think they fear they don't have a lot of time to get these agendas in, and I pray to God, they don't have any time to get these agendas in, because they're horrible. They're destroying our children innocent during of the conservatives circus. We have Diane Douglas, she is the former Arizona superintendent of public instruction, but she still has her eyes on the ball. Diane, we are still hearing from people who are upset over the statements made by the superintendent during graduation. They feel the comments were a little too political. Did you get the same? Vibe. Well, it's interesting how when it's just if interesting to measuring barometers that people use in different things at different times, you know, this has been an agenda of hers. It was an agenda of hers before she was elected. And you know, she's following through on it, and it's just a shame in my opinion that our legislature has fallen for it. And our state board of Ed, apparently now is falling for it. So I encourage any parents, any ministers any every any concerned, Arizona to be at that state board of Ed meeting on Monday, and let people know not with our children. Would you consider this to be a all hands on deck situation? Yes. And no. I don't want to discourage anybody from coming, but they need to realize this is just the first step in the process of what they're doing. You know, in April they opened up Ford rule. They struck language that was, it was mandated that it be struck as part of the lawsuit, then instead of providing all the information about that. She had been provided about what people want in this, including glisten, she would help that information, and then they rather than leaving the rule making open and allowing everybody to have the same opportunities. It was closed that more radicalized language in my opinion was inserted now they're going to reopen it. Probably on Monday. And but with already this language inserted, well, no citizen in Arizona got that opportunity. So there's a meeting Monday right now, as far as I know there's another meeting scheduled for July twenty second. And that's when the public will actually have the opportunity to give their input on what they think this sexy rule should say frightening. So people are already a little bit behind the curve, because of how the process has been played by our state board of education and by miss Hoffman. I got I have to tell you. That's what I find so frightening. I don't want for, for parents want for the community be behind the behind on anything. And that's why I think that this is important that the parents of the concerned citizens end up at these meetings, I have to tell you I, I thought I would never walk into that building or that boardroom again ever. But this topic is so important to me to protect our children that I have to be there to help defend them. Diane Douglas f if I were to free the stuff for you in this in the Zona daily independent, it was, it was sort of it would disturb. You. This research of medical and scientific accuracy is kind of in question. They're talking about a sexual instruction that's approved for our children. And at this language is adopted. This is some of the stuff that's going to end up in your, your classroom in our public schools. Here's information, though, this Kinsey scientific research, and it proves that children are sexual from birth and a five month old infant can have orgasms. Well, you why am I read this, this is what your children are going to be reading in school to switch going to be talking about discussing above school? Four year old child at four year old child could have twenty six orgasms in twenty four hour period. This is verified with a stop watch and a ledger. Who I don't know. How did they know this that babies and children, experiencing as the Kinsey report in his book, a sobbing with an abundance of tears or extreme trembling collapse? Sometimes fainting, or who fight away from the partner are having orgasms as he believed or are being of us. I don't know. Do here's what you need to do. You need to get a hold of the Zona daily independent. I don't feel this is I don't. I don't wanna you need to get hold the daily independent. Check out this article there is no such thing as safe sex for kids, two point. Oh. In that article, you will read about with the Diane Douglas is talking about what she's afraid of a wishy. She fears his going to find itself into the find this information going to find his way into the curriculum that our kids, we'll be learning from when it comes through sex. Ed, I happen to think the sex, Ed shouldn't be taught in school at all. It should be taught by by your parents. Or your religious affiliation. But when we started talking about the public schools and we talk and we started talking about the culture right now. And what the culture is allowing is just to me, completely unacceptable. And I think that if more parents understood what's out there what they're trying to work into our schools, you would be very, very alarmed to say the least. So this means coming up on Monday. And if you're able at you should do your very best to try to attend. There's going to be a mass deportation this week. And it has been announced will what is it being? We'll talk about it at six twenty thirteen minutes after the hour. Time for east.

Let's take a look at this video real quick ones. I will keep reading the second element of demo focuses on streaming open world data in the original wired piece, PlayStation system. Architect, Mark Cerny explained that the speed of traverse Spiderman is limited by the constraints of the PS four pro hardware, the video shows this inaction speed is increased the PS four pro grinds to a halt as it streams in new information with buildings popping in before the sequence starts up, again, the same sequence on the new hardware shows reversal at jet fighter speed with no hitching stuttering whatsoever. If. And if. These videos also really important. I've watched what we wanna look for here. There's two things one. They're showing on the left side. Watch it snap. See that they're calling random points on the disk, this that this that, right? So meaning it's not necessarily, also quench will believe that's the goal of that say very quickly load this that now what you sees see the streaming. How fast can you load in sequentially all this, you know, render all this data and boom it locks up, quote unquote, you know on the PS four, it's just loading 'cause they're going way too fast with the camera. Now. What? You'll see on the next gen stuff. They don't call PS five or anything, but it just starts design and you'll see so, yeah, if you're listening at home, it's now on the next generation of zoom through the, you know, the streets of New York, and yet, it was sort of stopping.

Was in Vietnam, and he made it home, and he is shot down, you know, trying to get away from somebody, and they broke through three doors to get my mom. She's eighty five years old. Once these two men were sent to prison was there a sense of relief in any way. No, no, I called treading water. Because if I didn't keep trying I was going to go under Mary raisin was seeking truth. Yeah. Which I if getting a lot of a lot of us in the near future, man, I think it looks amazing. I it's hilarious. Say this is someone who has zero interest in having one in their house. I know. No. That's like I literally had trouble with the I could not stop laughing. When I when I saw that got caught up in something posted late for some reason. I can't believe this fucking thing. Thanks for. All right. Moving on. Nice going wire tire. Non-playing games wired playing games. Yeah. This thing is bizarre. They sony. Let wired sit down in a room with Mark Cerny talked to him about the next PlayStation with. Yeah. Big giant like mere tower the big kit. Yeah. They'd never came out and said the words PlayStation five, but of course, they wouldn't do that. Because they're not on a stage somewhere. Not Mark Cerny be called. He wouldn't give it up as a member. When we were all excited wasn't going to be called the PlayStation four. Call it Orbis. It's now this story made me think that they're not gonna call it the PlayStation five because like we're quote the way they talk about it makes me think. They know what it's called..

"Yes, it's still hard for me to to believe that with Amanda because she's so beautiful. I feel like agents and managers would want to scoop her right up. But I guess they pigeonhole tar because they knew that she did playboy. And so they were like, well, these are the only jobs you're right for which is so crazy. And so like great for her now to be able to little like haha. But if you think about if you didn't know her and her personality, like, what would you think she was going to be an would you think she's going to be a comedic actress like that wouldn't be your and? We've been earlier career when she probably didn't have that kind of skill anyways. I'm sure you'll have television credits, and you know, people if you don't already have a television credit than they don't seriously for television. So, but I just found remarkable when the new then she decided to dig in and start creating and doing that on her own and making that happen. And it's sorta like the industry itself is sort of like who are you like you and what army is gonna come and be payments? And she's like, oh, yeah. Me and this army the tens of millions of people that have I've went and got myself. Yes. And she said that she didn't hammer it, and I wish I if I go back I would have hammered that point with her is that nobody forced her on anyone. Nobody put her in a magazine. And so you're like, okay. Well, that's the new face of guests or Chanel or whatever it is. Nobody right her on TV show and be like okay here. It is you you now like her or castor. It's like she went out and got every single one of her fans herself. And she brought those people to the table. And so when guests is taken the meeting to be like, hey, we'd like to work with you. When. She leaves. They're like man, we got a signer because every other model with nice boobs and a pretty face has no effect on their sales whatsoever. And Amanda Cerny change their sales. That's just the end of the story. She's got millions of dollars that she went and got herself. Which is just crazy. It is. I mean, social media has opened up that door for people. I mean, I'm to a much smaller level. I am a very similar story. Downtown LA I had countless agents. I'd one agent. Tell me my face was too fat to represent which was my favorite rejection on. But I had amazing rejection stories all through my early career here in LA. I didn't have any credit snow on wanted to consider seriously for anything. It was just there was a lot of. No. And then I built an audience through YouTube and through social media and now have a thriving not as thriving as Amanda. But I, you know, I'm very comfortable where I am in my career. And I love what I do for a living, and that would have never been possible through traditional Hollywood methods through. So there are many people. People that are doing exactly like a did where they're like, you know, what no one wants to take me. Seriously. I'm gonna do this through hard work and sweat. I mean, we talked batch, and he's very similar story of I have to pave my own way. Because maybe I don't have the connections. I don't know the big Hollywood producers or casting directors or studio heads or whatever I need to know to get in. So I'm going to pave my own way and Brent you pave your own way into this entertainment industry as well. And it's funny because people say how did you do it? And it's always like, well, my story is really weird. I feel like all of that. Everybody says everybody says that when I when I speak or teaching school. They asked me like how do what advice, and it's like, I can't really look at any of the way I got here and say, here's some advice for you. Because it's like, I wouldn't advise you to try any of the stuff that I did or do it my way because it's like it was just a lot of work, and it's just like a lot of good things to happen. And it's like, and like I wrote about it in my latest Forbes article with with batch. I had said, you know, he sounds more like a poly side major or a or a professor explaining the functionality of physics and psychology of social media the way he describes his.

"I'll be like, hey, like do this with me. And right. All right. But also, it's like what's cool about my audience is that they're so used. Doing so many different types of collaborations that they're always excited for and they don't care about the roles. They was just see me as a character in them too. So doesn't put me in a an issue. Whereas like, why guy play your boyfriend in that other video and he's worked Hanis all different characters. Yeah. So it's nice in in that way, too. But I always thought about like I used to never talk about my relationships or like, I'm like, no that's always separate. But now it's like in the world that we live in like with stories and stuff is like he can't really hide stuff that much and like it only benefits everything that we're both doing so. And what's the what's the hardest part about being Amanda these days? I guess it would just focusing on one thing at a time. There's just so much going on that it's like one minute. I'll be like building this platform. And then the next minute I have to focus on this. So it's kind of prioritizing what I really and truly want to do which is acting. So for me, it's like sometimes I have to chill out with always producing for social media. But at the same time I have to deliver things, but maybe I don't have to make them as highly produced. I can batch taught me recently to just start shooting on my phone again. So I can get consistent content up and as long as the storylines. Good people aren't gonna care. That's pretty cool. Well, I tell you you have fascinated me excited. We've got a chance to do this. And that we run in a bunch of circles that we finally connected, so yeah. And I look forward to follow your journey as you continue. Thanks something together. Two years later gentleman Amandus any leaving. Yeah. It's crazy to me. I didn't even know like she said people didn't know that. I was a playmate. I didn't know that she was a playmate. But from someone else who moved to like, I also moved to Los Angeles with no connections. Unlike I don't know what I'm doing. It was fascinating to me to hear the story about how her becoming a playmate and even just coming out to LA to do that test shoot for it. Even if he hadn't got it. She went to the right parties and made the right connections. And she said, you know, when she did move out to Los Angeles. She had a couple of friends already from those trips. And when she started mentioning who those friends were like Jimmy Tatreau, who's huge, and like she she made some good connections. And it just to me it overall solidified to anyone listening to this that wants to come out to Los Angeles and make this happen be nice to everyone because your connections, and your friends that you make are so important like people say, and you can you can talk to this to brand. But people. Hey, it's who you know in this industry, and that's one hundred percent true. So being nice to everybody and keep everyone close because you never know who's going to be the person who's going to introduce you to batch invite you into a house where everyone just helps each other create content twenty four seven and works on a brand new social media platform that not many people have heard of and you know, can invite you to a music video shoot that eventually leads to like this huge modeling job. Like, it is all about connections up be nice to have the goods they'll fund, and I just I love the. I I love that. It was like literally as soon as she got here. It's like it's not gonna work like, you're not gonna get casted anything. You're not going to be an actress, you can't find a a manager and agent, you can be a stripper in one of these things because you're in playboy, and it's just like, do, you know, many people probably had have had that kind of news and like turned around hop on the bus and went home. Oh, everybody. Everybody is. I don't know a single person out you're in L A, who's in the entertainment industry that was not told no at least five hundred times more than they were told..

"She's a very static model. You know, she's not early. Engage these beautiful pictures of her and they're beautiful and saying that, but and I remember bringing up Amanda, and I was like you need someone like this. And this is what a man who was probably ten million viewers, and as you know, only ten ten, and it's like, she's really funny and like really hot and people like our rabid fans of hers. And so they went big supermodel, and they literally got zero asses in seats. No bump on the trailer. Nothing. I couldn't get anything from it. Yeah. Audiences are showing that they don't really convert and it's not like that. And then then what you find with someone like a man who has built that platform, and engages and has such an interact. Action with their audience it like it changes the dynamic Aloom bed. And that I think is really impressive. Totally. So let me ask you this. So what she's been able to do lately is combined sort of the sexuality of the modeling side with the comedic of her influence or and social media side and the two combinations of that have really grown her brand. And I would say almost like an exponential effect because it's open doors like courageously now that she couldn't open before when it was just Amandus Ernie these sort of comedic vine personality, and she wouldn't even had close to the same reaction if it was just MandA Cerny, check out my hot body, and look how sexy I am like those two things together. Yeah. Fitness and stuff explosion. So I I asked this to you. And I've been waiting all week for you to come. You have an I'm just trying to be very like scientific here. Okay. You have a similar look. Thank you. Yes. But do you know what? I mean, you're you're young. You're very pretty you have a beautiful figure you at your particular sort of trajectory, in my opinion. And we've talked about this before you don't use that as a part and parcel to what you do. It's sort of like, it's certainly more about your knowledge in the way, you work and all in your side. You don't bring you don't do modeling stuff. No, not really I did when I was younger mostly because I didn't really know who I was yet. I didn't really understand kind of how Hollywood worked, and I was like, you know, like I was saying trying to climb that mountain any any way that I thought maybe this could be my end. But I quickly realized that modeling wasn't for me. Because so many of the modeling jobs require either partial nudity, you or nudity. And for me. I was just like that's not me. I don't know that I want to do that. And so I thought well if I'm not going to go full throttle. Into this world. Why am I even dabbling? So I was very I was actually very much when I moved to Los Angeles willing to take any job as long as I got to keep my clothes on and it paid those were my rules. So I was the hamburglar for a while like I mean any job I if it paid and I got to keep my clothes on. I would take it. I would be Barney like whatever you needed me to do. No shame. I'll do it. But that was just my personal line and everybody has a different personal line. So I didn't really pursue the modeling thing going to let's talk about on on a personal side your personal brand. Yeah. And what you do on the social media in that world. Right. I totally get your journey here. Where you start looking at the modeling thing. It doesn't go the way you want. It's uncomfortable. You move into tech. And all the other stuff you do, but it's a different world. Now, it's two thousand nineteen and there's a clear pattern of somebody with the goods, and the smarts and the funny and the history a layer of sexy and the. Fact that it's like beautiful girl kind of stuff has another pull onto it. And it it comes with a bigger audience. Like, yeah, you're following your presence, your like all of your popularity and stuff would be, you know, could be massively amplify on. My numbers would be a lot better by turning that up of thing to you find that now that you're that you've seen it more..

"Love to hear your thoughts because nobody's shy about sharing their thoughts on the internet. So why not just pour them in a love it actually to love the comments, and I like to interact with people. So please go ahead. Send me anything. You like, I'm totally an all right. Let's talk about the episode today. I guess demand. Cerny and good friend of mine. If you don't know her you absolutely have seen her tens of millions of followers on social media, absolutely massive following. And what's crazy is she started out as a comedian and making a ton of content and has transitioned that into sort of mega supermodel status. She was the guest girl recently. And it's just been it's it's been really cool to watch. I'm really proud of her. And she's just been just crushing it. There's no other way to describe it. I mean, just. Crushing it and in such a non traditional way. And I think that you know, I'm doing a big television show on the history of models in the supermodels, and one of the things I noticed was as we doing the research is that there is such a balk and key control on that industry by sort of the establishment on who got to be literally taking steps on those runways and in those pages, but with Instagram, it has changed everything Instagram models are wildly popular. But nobody really transitioned the way Amanda has gone from sort of Instagram famous and social media fame to mainstream model popularity and what's happened. Is that the entire industry has realized that she comes with a massive fan base and other models. Just simply don't and so she looks spectacular. Obviously, she fills and checks all those boxes, but it's definitely more. Than that. It's the entire package and this end run around the model industry to insert herself right at the top of the game is is been really fun to watch. And I think you're gonna love hearing sort of her journey so help me dive into this topic a little bit more as I always do my one and only co host is here. But this is one step more interesting because as someone who is famous on Instagram, and is famous on social media and dare I say has the potential to be a model at any time, my one.

Detroit, Detroit Red Wings And Hockey discussed on 31 Thoughts: The Podcast
"If you hadn't won the Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings. How would you look back on your career? I don't know. But certainly winning it capped it all you know. I mean you move on. This is something bigger in our life than just playing hockey. And even what we wanna do, you know? But I know now that you never know what it takes to win until you when you think you do every hockey player every athlete for our and I want to win and. In hockey such a team sport. You wanna play a win you want to be successful? But you wanna win and everyone of us play better when we wanna win. But you really don't know what it takes until you win. And I think that's for me. Even after my after career, I take those lessons. I learned in Detroit every single what does it take them? It takes everyone like when I was in Detroit. And I got in Detroit, I can give you a quick story LA kings versus Detroit. So the year before when LA we had a good team. We beat Detroit actually and silly things. This is one nutrition started being kind of people were talking about. And we chipped in to buy shakes guys doing protein shakes post game. So we went to management's look at while buying shakes you'd think at team would pay kind of just ask. And he said, no, we don't have a budget was. Okay. So all the guys were every month different veteran would vita shakes for the team. So the next year I go to Detroit, and I get to Detroit the nets about two weeks before cap, and we're skating and Turner comes to me, and he's got a no, Pat, and he says, you know, what's your workout with chain? And that's why I like to do this post game. I like to do this. He goes Cerny machine. Unia go down. What you if you remember Detroit a gyms, right? You got everything. And this is great any asked me do drink any protein, shake, I go. Yeah. He goes. We'll what brands on like, I don't know. I figured timeless call ES. You know, what flavor flavor vanilla draw brace? He writes down egos. I'll have it tomorrow. You're gonna have like my own brand, you know, like, you know, my own flair. He goes, don't worry. We want to help you. You're here to help us win a Cup and he walks away. So then the next day. I come in the little girl that worked for their foundation. Every team we sign autographs time journey year. Four five times, she says the same thing. Just really nice had little no pants. You know, we do autograph session. We do these things. And I think they were doing stuff at the time where you'd sign your steaks, and whatever they give you credit against the store. She says all the guys like sign them. We had the big signing. We do three years. She goes one you like to do it. I dunno known. I've make Joe non game this. We would never do that. But she says some guys would rather do them before breakfast after practice some guys don't want to do it the day before the game. I'm like, why don't care as whenever it's easier for you. If it's as long as it's known game, damn, okay? And if you give me a couple of days, I'll do it. I go, thanks. She was no problem. She goes which want to help you. She says we want to make your life as possible, you know. So you can help us win a Cup. She walks away. I'm like this whole thing of this entire organization was so ingrained on what their goal was an everybody works. And it was like these nice kind gesture, but it kept reminding you that that's what we all in it for. And then when you win you realize that it's not just a team is not just the players. Not just it's everyone, you know. And it takes everyone to be successful. And that's why you know, I think Detroit is had such success for so long because everybody was on board. It was it was really interesting for me to see and to live that.
