"Time for some new. 9 items on the rope report. There you go, barrack didn't see. It was tantric. You know what I mean? You held it that long, and I'm proud of you. I appreciate you. Hot. Number one on the roper report. We got to fight in the press ladies and gentlemen. PlayStation is commenting on Xbox's COD offer. And that's called duty for you people who don't want to have don't understand things. Christopher dring at games industry dot is reports. Microsoft has promised to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for three years beyond the current agreement between Activision and Sony says PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan. In a statement provided a games industry app is, Ryan says the offer was quote inact inadequate on many levels. The disagreement between the two companies follows Microsoft's offer to buy Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard in a deal worth nearly $69 billion. The deal is currently being scrutinized by competitions, competitions, I always forget in the UK. Competitions regulators with the UK regulator concerned over the possibility of Microsoft quote withholding or degrading Activision Blizzard's content from other consoles or subscription services. Last week, Xbox revealed that it had, quote, provided a signed agreement to Sony to guarantee Call of Duty on PlayStation, with feature and content parity, at least for several more years and quote, beyond Sony's existing contract with Activision. Xbox says this offer quote goes well beyond typical gaming industry agreements end quote. The current deal between Sony and Activision Blizzard around Call of Duty is believed to cover the next three releases, including this year's Call of Duty Modern Warfare two. However, Sony says the offer fails to consider the impact on PlayStation gamers. Quote, I hadn't intended to comment on what I understood to be a private business discussion. But I feel the need to set the record straight because Phil Spencer brought this into the public forum Ryan stayed at Microsoft has only offered Call of Duty to remain on PlayStation for three years after the current agreement between Activision and Sony ends. After almost 20 years of Call of Duty on PlayStation, their proposal was inadequate on many levels and failed to take account of the impact on our gamers. We want to guarantee PlayStation gamers continue to have the highest quality Call of Duty experience in Microsoft's proposal undermines this principle end quote. Tim? There's a lot to talk about from this very new story, but you and I already dipped our toe into this pool back on kind of funny games daily September 1st, where of course Phil Spencer had put up a big old Microsoft blog talking about a bunch of things with the Activision Blizzard thing, but this paragraph was pretty important when we were talking about it. In doing so, of course, obtaining activation blizzard bringing them in Xbox family. We will pursue a principled path. We've heard that this deal might take franchises like Call of Duty away from the places where people currently play them. That's why, as we've said before, we are committed to making the same version of Call of Duty available on PlayStation on the same day the game launches elsewhere. We will continue to enable people to play with each other across platforms and across devices. We know players benefit from this approach because we've done it with Minecraft, which continues to be available on multiple platforms and has expanded even more since mo Yang joined Microsoft in 2014. As we extend our gaming storefront across new devices and platforms, we will make sure that we do so in a manner that protects the ability of developers to choose how to distribute their games. We talked about that September 1st. Before then, we've obviously talked about the Activision blizzard getting bought by Microsoft. We are worried about this. We had heard about this three year deal. We had met all this stuff, and then it was this back and forth. But mainly on September 1st Timothy, you were very clear that, okay, he's saying this now, Phil Spencer. But that'll change one day. How do you feel now? Are you in Jim Ryan's camp? Are you ready to go to war? What do you want to do? You know, there's Phil Spencer and CM Punk went on the panel and talked a lot of shit but then backstage. That was involved. Somebody got bit, but it wasn't by the dog. It was by a person. There was so much. Drama happening right now that is like the Chris Pine got spit on, but it didn't actually. Listen, I don't know anything about Harry Styles, except that he's a Taylor Swift X, which meant already. I don't fuck with him. But then you're gonna go spit, and then you're gonna spin on captain Kirk. What if it was a consensual statement, you know? It was not no spit. The spit was hot. Here's what I want you to do. When you have the time later today, all right? Go watch the spit video Chris Pine's reaction, then go watch that time you and me ate a long John and from different ends. And tell me which one was consensual. Thank you very much. Back to YouTube. It's a great question. I don't know if you saw it this update, both Chris Pine and Harry Styles said it's not spit. This is one of those blue dress gold dress situations. There was no. That's called damage controls. They try to save their careers. Do you see this Harry Styles kid? It's a movie because it's a movie quote, what the fuck is wrong? Yeah, that's the whole thing. That's the whole thing. Team Harry, baby. But here's the thing about this, Greg. There's no team here. There's an old whose side are we on? This is business that we shouldn't see, but we have to see because of the Arab social media and because of the responsibilities to that these men have to boards and to business people and to shareholders stockholders, all of this stuff. It's like every single statement that has been made. And every statement that's going to be made, going forward, we're going to look at and be like, this is ridiculous. This is silly. And it's so easy to look at it and be like, well, this thing is just like, that's not how games work. Or look at things and be like, well, that's how games work. None of that matters. This is how money is made. This is how money works. And they just have to do this stuff where it's like, look, in their heart of hearts. Are they looking at this at his Jim Ryan actually like, oh, this is not fair. This isn't good. It's factually. No, he gets it, but he has to do this. He has to do this. It's part of the job. It's like the job. That's like legitimately, not just part of. It is what the job is. Is to just make sure that your business does better than the other business when there is direct competition. And in this case, this stuff like when the statements made, you have to put out a response because the shareholders are supposed to be in private. All right, Phil came out and fired off this blog. And that's what happens, you know? It's like when information that not everyone is supposed to see is seen by everyone, then all of a sudden everyone has to take, and then you need to have statements that can deal with all those takes. That is nigh impossible. And that's when we get to situations like this that Greg, you had this, I'm looking at the dock right now and there's a big, bold thing that says remember KFG D 9 slash one, which remember, remember, the 1st of September. Then today is September 8th, 2022.

"Want to play, yeah, it's got RPG elements. Like, there's a skill tree that you earn, you know, like, oh, that's really interesting. And now every game has that. You don't even think when you talk about a skill tree or progression in leveling up in a game. You want to say it's RPG elements. It's just what games are now and how it all works. And so what that will actually look like will be interesting, especially also from VGC and from the same call. There's a whole bunch of news app from this. Tom Ivan had grabbed this one saying that PlayStation reveals plan to split investment 50 50 between existing and new IP. And that's them talking about the fact that as they go up through their fiscal years, speaking Thursday, SIE CEO Jim Ryan said that by fiscal year 2025, the company plans to split to be 50 50 between new IP and established IP, which I think speaks a little bit to what they're doing here and especially as they talk about ramping up to 12 live service games, right? By fiscal year 2025, they're talking about new ideas, new things. So it isn't hopefully your next God of War having something shoehorned into it. If Sony Santa Monica river is developing and it wants to do it awesome. It's not something shoehorned it. Hopefully it's new IP. But they're going to be throwing some stuff at the wall. Hopefully it's new IP or hopefully it's IP that we love that actually makes sense. Don't you wanna God of War, but last of us factions? True. Right, like the rest of the thing is like, I think that there's a lot of news we're talking about today that is building a very strong story for PlayStation strengthening itself to not just be one thing. But to be that one thing still dominate at that and potentially dominate other things and using their IP in every way possible, whether it's across multimedia TV shows and movies and stuff going on PC, having new IP and old IP and finding new ways to use both the new adult IP with different types of games and different types of monetization strategies. Now, I've talked about all this, these two live service games, blah, blah, blah, right? And when I ended there was during the same briefing Ryan suggested at least some of the live service games, it has in development our plan for PC. Speaking of Greg white, number three on the roper report. Sony wants around half of its games to be on PC and mobile by 2025. This is John Porter at the verge. Sony plans for roughly half of its game releases to be on PC or mobile by 2025, according to a presentation giving during the company's annual investor day. A chart shown during the presentation suggests this would be a major increase from its releases this year when around a quarter of the company's releases will be on PC and mobile. And the remainder split between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, quote by expanding to PC and mobile and it must be said. Also to live services. We have the opportunity to move from a situation of being present in a very narrow segment of the overall gaming software market to being present pretty much everywhere. Said Sony interactive entertainment president Jim Ryan in comments reported by video games chronicle VGC kill it out there today guys. Ryan went on to say that investing in PC and mobile could lead to significant growth in the number of people who play our games, the number of people who enjoy our games and the number of people who spend money on our games. On the mobile side VGC reported last year that Sony had hired former content boss of Apple who was the first of several new hires to join PlayStation studios to focus on mobile. In a slide, the company said it plans to release mobile games via a couple of different avenues, including co developing titles with existing mobile developers as well as establishing its own network of studios. I don't yeah, man. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, honestly, I think that this is this is great. It's all so weird to have talked about video games as long as we have to see such monumental shifts in things that we talk about it a lot game pass. How does it exist? How the hell is every first party Xbox title come a day and date? That is a wild dream world. But it's now reality and we're seeing what that means for video games at large. On the other side, PlayStation titles coming to PC. You would have never thought. And it's like, okay, maybe every once in a while, something like Death Stranding while surprising. It's like, okay, cool, that wasn't officially first party. And you know, there's a lot of technicalities with that. But to get things like God of War and horizon and to see the success that they have found, that is such a wild world, but it is a great world. This is what we need to be able to see to have Sony continue to dominate the way that they have, and to fund these games on the level that they need to. As triple-A games get more and more expensive and demanding. And finding more ways to get profit from those projects with relatively minimal work in terms of compared to having to create a brand new game or whatever. We're talking about potentially some of the greatest games of all time. I think that at the very least, some of the greatest games of the present, right? I think that this is awesome, just gets it in more hands to different gamers and the mobile sides interesting. Looking at this around half its games by 2025, I wonder if what that means. The reasoning behind that is, is that just a workflow logistics thing, or is that them being like, not all games need to. It doesn't necessarily make sense to put gravity rush. Wow. Whatever, on PC, I'm just using an example of it's like a little bit lower or pat upon, Greg. Does that make sense? Does it not? I don't know. Maybe it makes sense on mobile, maybe that doesn't make sense somewhere else. Like, I don't think it needs to be a one size fits all of everything is on PC and PlayStation day and date all the time. Like, I don't know that that necessarily makes sense. Maybe it does, maybe about 2030, that will be the case. But I wonder the one where why of it all. And when you look at PlayStation, we know who they are, we know what we're excited to see during their showcases. We know what we're waiting for. Spider-Man. It's horizon. It's God of War. It's XYZ last of us continue to continue. At what point are those games.

"Hour experience. And those don't often these days get this big triple-A kind of push and experience. I think that going back to the classics, the things that defined the 360 era when some of these types of games were at their best. And upgrading them for modern sensibilities, I think, is a phenomenal kind of avenue and a little bit of a nice break from bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger, more, more, more, more, more that was so used to nowadays from where video games are at. Yeah, for sure. I'm excited for this remake. And it's coming at a I would love to have had it this year, but especially given the dearth of games since early, early. It's been so long since we've had a major release. But yeah, I'm happy for it to be early in next year. Next story comes from the number two video game website on the Internet. Yes, that's correct. It is GameSpot dot com, very on Jessica Howard, put together the story, which is a place station staff reportedly angry over CEOs at abortion rights email that discusses cat birthdays. Here we are again. Here we are. Here we are. CEOs just today, how about just don't say anything challenge? Let's do it. The staff members are PlayStation are reportedly angry following CEO Jim Ryan sending an email to employees urging them to respect differences in opinion on abortion rights before writing at length about his two cats first birthday party. According to Bloomberg, the email begins by addressing current events such as the recent leak of a U.S. Supreme Court opinion draft signaling the intent to overturn roe V wade. The landmark case which federally legalized abortion. Ryan did not take a stance on the subject in the email. Instead writing that the company and its employees are multifaceted and diverse holding many different viewpoints. We owe it to each other and to PlayStation PlayStations, millions of users to respect differences of opinion among everyone in our internal and external communities Ryan row. Respect does not equal agreement, but it is a fundamental it is fundamental to who we are as a company and as a valued global brand. Ryan then went on to write 5 paragraphs on something lighthearted to help inspire everyone to be mindful of having balance that can help ease the stress of uncertain world events. His cats, the CEO described his two cats first birthday party, including their cakes and his desire to get a dog one day. In internal discussions viewed by Bloomberg, PlayStation staff, members expressed anger at the tone of the email writing that they felt Ryan had trivialized their rights. One employee reportedly stated they had never been so mad about a cat birthday before. While it is not unusual for companies to shy away from making political statements, especially ones regarding abortion, Ryan's attempt to put employees at ease with cat stories might be a first. Guess what reached out to Sony for a comment regarding Ryan's email and is still waiting for a response. One company that did take a stand against the Supreme Court courts apparent attempt at overturning roe V wade, however, is destiny developer bungie. In a blog post shared on the studio's official website last week, the company called a decision a direct attack on human rights, a company then listed a number of pro choice organizations, supporters can donate to including urge the unite for reproductive and gender equality and narrow pro choice America. Ironically, bungie is a company owned by PlayStation. Dude, this is so frustrating and ridiculous. And that's what it is. All the cat stuff and all this. I just hate that we're even talking about those elements of it. Like there's enough dumb shit to pick apart here that we don't need to get into how silly it is that he spends more time talking about cat stuff. Like it's distractions. And he's not meaning it to be a distraction. It's just a bunch of tone deaf nonsense and we need to just focus on the fact that we should not be in 2022 and this still be a question and let alone a question that people in extremely left leaning industries are still having wavering stances on. Like this should be something that like bungie PlayStations like, no, we're not fucking standing with this shit. And I do think that there is the side of it where we're seeing more and more companies kind of stand together and put their foot down and be like, no, we're doing this. And once one does, I think others are like, oh, we should do that too. And it's not a following in line of like, oh man, we have to do this because we're being bullied into it. It's more like, oh shit, there's value in us coming forth and being public about our stance on this. We're standing with it. We believe in it, but to say I believe in it makes such a bigger wave in such a bigger push. And it motivates others to do the right thing. And I think that that is why this is extra frustrating is bungie did the right thing. And PlayStation right here are not doing the right thing, not doing the wrong thing in terms of the stance on it, but by not doing the right thing, you are doing the wrong thing. And that I think is the biggest problem that they're having here in Jim Ryan puts his foot in his mouth every other day and all of the CEOs and leaders of these businesses. We pick apart every word that they put out and we make fun of them and we are sarcastic about it and we take it for its worst value all of that stuff. There's no getting away from that. That's just the way of the world. But it is unfortunate that he makes it makes it this damn easy and more than that. I prefer when it's stuff like him putting his foot in his mouth about backwards compatibility about the value of old games and things like that. This is so ridiculous where it's like we should be picking apart the words like respect and acceptance and all this stuff where it's like, what the fuck are you doing, man? It's ridiculous. Yeah, I agree with that a 100%. I also like what are the checks and balances at PlayStation where that was allowed to go out? Is no one being like, don't say that. That's a stupid thing. To say, and we discussed this on PS, I love you again. We just put up a clip on social of Janet's thoughts on this and her breakdown of this. This feels like lawyers checked this, you know? Of like, all right, you know, you got to kind of play both sides and be very safe in your speech of like we gotta respect each other's shit here and stuff like that. That's what it feels. It feels like corporate speak. And it just really makes you question of Jim Ryan care about any of his female employees in this situation and stuff like that. You said it earlier of like when you keep silent, you're standing with the side of the oppressor and that's something that the head of PlayStation made very clear yesterday to me. Yeah, it's just like now you're going to have so many people who are like just rethinking their approach to PlayStation. On a cold business perspective, like you've just shot yourself in the foot by both siding something which has a clear right and wrong answer..

"From wondery, I'm David Brown, and this is business wars daily on this Thursday, April 7th. Take a trip back in time with me, if you will. The year was 2010, and Sony launched a monthly video game membership called PlayStation plus. It granted players access to two additional free games and a few other benefits. Four years later, the company rolled out PlayStation now, which gave users access to cloud streaming games for use on their PS4s and PS5s. So when Sony says that it's quote been at the forefront of game subscription services, end quote, as it did in a statement last week. Well, that's true if getting in the game first is a sign of innovation. But in the 8 years since PlayStation now launched, another game subscription service entered the arena and became wildly popular, bringing in billions for its parent company. Microsoft. We're talking about the Xbox game pass, of course. Game pass, which was launched in 2017, grants players access to a rotating catalog of hundreds of games from a variety of publishers. Think of it like Netflix for gaming. Game pass is so popular that it counts 25 million subscribers and is expected to rake in around $4 billion for Microsoft in the next year. So if Sony is truly the leader in gaming subscription innovations, the time is ripe to prove it, which is exactly what Sony attempted to do last week when it unveiled a tiered subscription service for PlayStation users. The tears will expand the current PlayStation plus plan into two new, more expensive services and pull in the streaming factor from PlayStation now. Subscribers get access to up to 800 games in a rotating library for a monthly fee of up to 18 bucks. The reaction from the gaming community? Well, the PlayStation subscription rollout had long been rumored, so the news was met with a certain nonchalance from some game analysts. One said it was pretty much what we were expecting. Still, analysts couldn't help but compare the new service to Microsoft's product, Reuters called PlayStations move game pass counter attack. And because this is a classic business war, the two subscription services are exceedingly similar. You can pay about the same to either Microsoft or Sony for access to roughly the same number of games. There's one big difference, though. When Microsoft drops a new game, they launch it on game pass for no additional cost to subscribers. It can do that because these new games are made by Microsoft owned studios. That was the case with a highly anticipated halo infinite that launched late last year according to Business Insider. It was immediately available on game pass. But Sony's new PlayStation subscription won't be doing the same according to executives. Newly released games will be available on the service. Just not at the time of launch, so fans will have to wait a bit. PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan told games industry dot biz that releasing games on PS plus right as they launch is a quote road we're not going to go down. Which means for now, at least, PlayStation players may have one less perk than their game pass peers. But the rivalry will undoubtedly continue, and we'll have to wait to see whether Microsoft or Sony gets the highest score. From wondering, this is business wars daily. "And this is what I think. This is what I think the natural progression of all this was going to be, right? Is housekeeping, right? It is them going, all right, PlayStation now doesn't really work as a brand, like enough people are subscribed, but PlayStation now is an exciting, right? It's not a thing that they sell. And it's not I think that they are able to prop up and go, oh, everybody needs to get PlayStation now. PlayStation plus is that. PlayStation plus is a thing that they treat as their primary subscription service that people should get into. And I think that's pretty much what this is. I think the game pass competitor conversation is interesting because I don't think I don't think this is a game pass competitor. At least in terms of strategy, Gary's talking about the day and date thing, which I don't think was ever going to be a reality for PlayStation just in the fact that PlayStation view their first party PlayStation studios titles as premium, like these are the best of the best, we're investing all this money into it, right? Like, you look at the Jim Ryan interview that he did with Christopher drain over at games industry biz. And he addresses it saying, I'm going to read directly from the article, right? Again, this is GI biz. What it doesn't include unlike its main competitor, our new first party games that launch in the service at the same time as they come out at retail. Quote, we feel like we are in a good virtuous cycle with the studios, explains PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan. Quote, where the investment delivers success, which enables which enables get more investment, which delivers yet more success. We like that cycle and we think gamers like that cycle. End quote. He continues, quote, in terms of putting our own games into the service or any of our services upon the release, as you know, or as you all know, that is not a road that we've gone down in the past. And it's not a road we're going to go down with this new service. We feel if we were to do that with the games that we make at PlayStation studios, that virtuous cycle will be broken. The level of investment that we make in our studios will not be possible. And we think the knock on effect on the quality of our games that we make would not be something that gamers want. And I think basically what he's saying there is that, hey, if we were to put our games out, D&D on the service, we won't be able to make these games as premium premium as you wouldn't, right? We won't be able to make last part two level of quality. We won't be able to make God of War ragnarok level of quality because these are games to be able to make because we're charging $60, $70 for them. And there are games that are there to sell you on the console, but then also sell 10 million, 15 million, 20 million copies. And so I think in the way that PlayStation works, like inherently just from the structure of the company, they just can't make that happen. And the way that Xbox with Microsoft money with all the acquisitions with the varying and I always want to say level quality because I think quality is a bad word in this context. I'll say the varying scope and the varying premium levels of games that Xbox puts out on their side, right? I think there's a good range there in terms of we have saku nots two. Psychonauts two is a dope ass game, right? That is getting game of the year nominations and gave me the year awards. It's not necessarily you're not seeing the same amount of budget put into it as a God of War ragnarok or a last part two. But that is okay because we're able to sell this game and put it on game pass and make it work. We're able to see if these on game pass and make it work. We're able to put varying levels of games with varying levels of budgets on game pass, they make it work, whereas PlayStation is so focused on that premium experience that is like the best of the best, the highest budget. And with that, I just don't think that works for the PlayStation strategy. I think there's a lot to break down here in terms of what this is, right? And what works about it, and what doesn't work. I think for me, what does work about it is the fact that comparing it to PlayStation now, I think you are getting a better price overall, especially looking at the yearly. The monthly is kind of insane. So much twice as expensive if you pay monthly. That's crazy, isn't it? Yeah, that's the scary part. You got to break it down yearly. Yeah. Jim Ryan said in that interview as well. He says that's the best value is you. Yeah, and that's always been the case for PlayStation, right? Like they really try to usher people into the yearly subscription because most people are paying yearly anyway. And so when I look at that $120 price point for a PlayStation plus premium, I believe kind of funny dot com slash you wrong. Chad, you can correct me if I'm wrong. I think that is cheaper than if you were buying PS plus and PlayStation now separately. Like if you pay or at least comparable, if not cheaper, right? And I think that's a good deal because you are getting seemingly a better offerings when you talk about PlayStation PS two, PSP games. When you're talking about PS5 games being included as well, PS5 games are a thing that are not on PlayStation now right now. So if you're getting that, that's awesome. They're talking about miles Morales. They're talking about Returnal. I'm with Gary in terms of the wait and see kind of thing of, hey, how good is this going to be really? Because for me, the defining factor is going to be the library. What PS1 games are we going to see, what PSP games we're going to see, what PS two games are we going to see, because the ones that are offered right now on PlayStation now aren't a great offering. We need way more than that. And so I'm kind of wait and see on that. I think if they bring out bangers for that, that's going to be really exciting, but I can easily see them. Not bringing out bangers. I can easily see it being the same thing. All right, here's 20 PS two games. Here's 30 PS1 games and they're the ones that you expect and they're the ones that are rereleased all the time. I think that'll be a bummer outcome. I think for me the other bummer outcome out of all this is the PS3 games, not being negatively backwards compatible. I think slightly to be expected, but also for project spartacus, right?.

"Will cost 1499 a month, 39.99 for three months or 9 99 a year. PS plus premium includes all of the above, but also adds classic games from the PS1, PS two, and PSP, which can be downloaded or streamed. Time limited game trials and PS3 NPS four game streaming. This service will cost 1799 a month, 49.99 for three months, or $119 99 cents a year. Sony's combined PS plus and PS now install base sits at around 50 million users with 48 million of those subscribe to PS plus. Sony hopes to convert more of its PS plus audience to the higher tiers, while lowering the overall price for those who currently subscribe to both services. PlayStation has decided against putting its first party games into the service on the day it comes out in contrast to the Xbox game pass equivalent. In an interview with games industry is PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan says that doing such a thing would result in less investment into its studios and could lead to lower quality games. It's that last bit there that is coming in for a bit of criticism. Quoting Tom Warren in the verge. Sony isn't promising to make all of its upcoming exclusive PlayStation games available on launch day through the subscription service though. That's what has made Xbox game pass and attractive option to Xbox gamers alongside the impressive back catalog that allows the latest Xbox series S slash X consoles to natively run original Xbox games alongside titles for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Still, Sony's combination of PlayStation plus and PlayStation now offers more choice of how to play classic and new PlayStation games without having to subscribe to a separate streaming service..

"By cut's clothing, lumen skin in honey, but we'll tell you about that later for now. Let's begin with what is, and forever will be through open report. It's time for some new stories today. Bakers doesn't starting with our number one Tim, PlayStation has bought heathen studios. I'm pulling from Christopher dring at games and street op is. PlayStation has agreed to fully acquire haven studios. The development team led by Assassin's Creed Star Wars and Google games veteran Jade Raymond. It follows Sony's initial investment in the studio in March last year. Ever since the team has been working on an exclusive new IP for PlayStation, which has now been revealed as a live service experience built upon a systemic and evolving world, which we'll come back to in a second. Post acquisition, the studio will continue to be run by the current management team in close collaboration with PlayStation. Have a studios currently boasts over 60 employees and is the 18th developer to join PlayStation studios. Quote, hey mister studios is an emerging studio with an exceptional team of talent and we're delighted to welcome them into PlayStation as our first development studio in Canada said Sony interactive entertainment CEO, Jim Ryan. He continues, quote, the studio's focus on creating an original triple-A multiplayer game will not only flex the power of the PlayStation 5, but will further expand upon the diverse catalog of gaming experiences that can only be found on PlayStation and, quote, Tim, there's not a lot more that I'm going to get into here. Of course, there's an additional article from games industry is because it's interesting, right? The last few big acquisitions that Sony has made, they've gone specifically to game city biz. Do you exclusive interviews? And so I'm going to hop into one of those exclusive interviews in a second. But Tim, I'm going to stop here and ask you, where's your head up with this acquisition? What does this tell you? I'm interested in it. And I am excited. Me and you specifically, I feel like the last couple of years have been on a lot of stories for some of the more interesting moves PlayStation has made. Not the big, oh, they're getting insomniacs, which were kind of inevitable, but also more high profile. Whereas we've been seeing kind of these moves into the VR side of things, right? And into the multiplayer side of things, to kind of expand their repertoire of what PlayStation studios, offerings can mean. So this is interesting to me because this is them continuing to double down on wanting a live service multiplayer experience that is the focus, not just what everyone associates with the PlayStation studios bangers of the third person, third person action adventure narrative games, right? Which they at this point have on lock. And it's not just one or two. We're at the point that there's three, four, 5 of those franchises. That we are kind of expecting a certain level of quality from in a certain type of experience from and not that they're all the same thing, but they are all variations on a theme. I think it's interesting that they're here trying to secure the bag in a different way when it comes to getting a different audience that they have invested in over the last ten years over the PS4's generation through the use mainly of third party titles like Call of Duty, right? Really owning into the partnerships with third party developers to own the multiplayer side of Call of Duty for so long of where are people playing with their friends? It was the Xbox 360 and then it became the PlayStation 4. In this new era that we're in as Xbox is kind of become just an ecosystem as opposed to people really talk about the Series X versus PlayStation 5. It's more just Xbox versus PlayStation 5. What is PlayStation gonna do to kind of counteract so many of the moves that Xbox has been making, but I think even more interesting is not looking at it as them versus them, but more looking at it as a PlayStation trying to be like, well, clearly there are tons and tons of gamers out there that are looking for these kind of live multiplayer experiences, what are we going to do for them that can potentially hit the quality levels that are PlayStation studios or third person action adventure titles have done for the last generation? Yeah, yeah, and I think that's very interesting. The fact that they're expanding in such a specific way. And I think it is in contrast to what we see Xbox doing, which is Xbox's bop at the Xbox bot Activision Blizzard. Xbox is blowing up in terms of buying studios buying publishers and expanding their catalog of IPs to the point where it is a, yeah, dude, we are going hard in building up mindshare, right? And taking mind share away, right? We're not necessarily going to take Call of Duty away from PlayStation, but you're seeing them own active that you're seeing them own, Bethesda and ways that they can kind of one profit off of those games, but then also place the pieces and control those studios as they want to, right? PlayStation is operating operating more like a scalpel where it is like, hey, how do we grow smartly? All right, we've worked with House Mark house markets without return. Return was a big success for us. Let's buy house smart because we know that we partner well. Insomniac has put out games for us over the years insomniac put out Spider-Man right inspired me..

"Forget. But I mean, I mean, even if they were to gotcha. So we'll see what that is. But it's interesting here to note, the last thing is ultra Street Fighter sit or ultra SF 6, Q four fiscal year 24. So one year after that. So they're planning on busting these street fighters out in classic Street Fighter fashion. That's bad, though. They need to not do that. I think that's a really bad mistake for them. Because again, the one thing that has been the craw in everyone's hat for the Street Fighter series has been they have these multiple versions of the game and just causes market confusion for folks where they're like, is this the one that need to birches? Is that the one I need to buy? Which one has the right DLC that I want? Which one has the characters that I want? And then you go into the conversation about costumes and all other stuff which has always been a big problem, but it's been a big level of confusion of where do I go to get stuff. So I'm hoping that they don't do that actually. I just want it to be the base game at all the stuff to that and then that is the product that you put out into the world. Yeah, I mean, it's interesting though, because that's what they did with 5, right? They tried doing that. And then that didn't work so that they had to go back to having the kind of multiple iterations, right? Yep, yep. I'm curious to know what their thought process is on that. Because that would be really interesting from just a market perspective. And again, I think, again, if you're going to do that, and it's going to be exclusive to the Sony platform. People are going to be real confused. There's lots of different ways. And I hope they don't do that. Yeah. Moving on to the next story, we're better. Did you say something? No. No. Okay, sorry. I thought I heard you. Story number three, 68% of horizon forbidden west UK physical buyers paid 70 instead of the cheaper upgrade this comes from Chris Scully and at video games chronicle. According to JFK sales data first published by games industry dot biz 68% of box sales during forbidden west launch weekend were for the PlayStation 5 version, whereas the remaining 32% were on PlayStation 4. However, players who purchased the PS4 version, which is priced at 60 in the UK compared to 70 for the PS5 version, get a free PS5 upgrade. This essentially means that 68% of players who bought physical versions of the game in the UK spent ten more than they needed to. The game is the UK's second biggest PS5 launch so far behind launch game Spider-Man miles Morales, which was also released on both PS4 and PS5. So I'm going to get into a lot more details about this and how we actually got here. So the pricing anomaly is due to a U turn made by Sony following backlash to its statement that dual entitlement did not imply to the standard and special editions of horizon forbidden west. This news meant that players would only get a free upgrade if they purchased the more expensive versions, a move that appeared to contradict the SIE CEO Jim Ryan's comments in the past about cross gen launch window titles getting free upgrades. It appeared that because horizon forbidden west had been delayed to after the launch window, Sony wasn't going to include it in the offer. However, following widespread negativity by the game's fan base, Sony changed its mind and said players who bought the PS4 version, we get a free upgrade to the PS5 version. However, as VGC reported earlier this month, players buying the game through the PS5 console are only given the option to buy the PlayStation 5 version, which costs which costs more, even though the PlayStation 4 version contained exactly the same content, only players who access the store via a web browser or the PS4 console are given the option to purchase the PS4 version for 60, which includes a PS5 upgrade for free. That's a whole lot of confusion. Smart delivery, where are you at? Yeah. Why? Why? Oh yeah to do is make free upgrades to the new platform. It's like you said that whole section of words and halfway through and you started to turn into pooty tank for me. It was like you were scatting. 'cause I was like, I don't understand what you're trying to say because it's so confusing and unnecessary. Just make the upgrades free or versus smart delivery that you can get on the Xbox console. It doesn't make sense that they are still, here's the thing that bugs me out. It's not even the fact that this is confusing for the consumer, you can tell that even within the Sony brands and within the Soviet ecosystem, people are confused about what the process looks like from an internal perspective. That's bad, that just doesn't do anything for anyone who's involved in saying, I want to give you money for this cool thing that you made, but I have to perform a seance. And I have to walk around the block three times. And I got to go kiss kiss a frog. Just to make sure I get everything in the one game that I want to go from my old system to my new system. That's dumb. Yeah, man. It's very, very, very convoluted. A D block writes in and says, happy elden reek week. Help? Wow, what did he say here? Is what he said. There's no ring that confused me. Happy elden ring week, everyone. I've got two questions first. With reports that almost 70% of people chose to buy the full price PS5 version of horizon forbidden west, do you think that we will see less companies offering free upgrades.

"But we'll tell you about that later for now. Let's begin with what is, and forever will be the role report. It's time for some news. We have 6 stories today. Starting with our number one, a megaton announcement. Sony has bought bungee. And this is awesome because chat, audience people listening to people watching, I'm experiencing this at the same time as you are. I'm not a chance to read through the articles, know what the actual breakdown is. I'm like clicking into games industry biz, and I think the website is down because people are clicking into it so much. And so I can't double check to see who the sources are because I forgot to put the source in there. But story number one is Sony is buying bungee for $3.6 million. This is from games industry biz. And what's the websites back up? I'll check to see who the actual writer is, thank God a copy and pasted it. Brendan Sinclair, Brennan Sinclair, thank you so much for that. The article reads like this. Sony interactive entertainment today announced a deal to acquire bungee for $3.6 billion. The latest in a string of big ticket consolidation deals in the games industry. After the deal closes, bungie will be a quote an independent subsidiary of SIE run by a board of directors consisting of current CEO and chairman Pete Parsons in the rest of the studios current management team. Sony has said bungee will remain a multi platform studio with the option to quote self publish and reach players wherever they choose to play end quote. At present, the studios working on maintaining destiny two, expanding the destiny franchise and working on new IP. Quote, we've had a strong partnership with bungee since the inception of the destiny franchise. And I couldn't be more thrilled to officially welcome to the studio. Welcome to studio two, the PlayStation family, said SIE president and CEO, Jim Ryan. Quote, this is an important step in our strategy to expand the reach of PlayStation to a much wider audience. We understand how vital bungees community is to the studio and look forward to supporting them as they remain independent and continue to grow. Like bungie, our community is core to PlayStation's DNA. And our shared passion for the gamer and building the best place to play will now evolve even further end quote. Parts have said, as I supported the studio, the studios dual goal of making generation spanning entertainment while staying creatively independent. Quote, both bungie and SIA believe that game worlds are only the beginning of what our IP will become parson said. Our original universe have immense potential and with SI support will propel bungie into becoming a global multimedia entertainment company dedicated to delivering on our creative vision and quote. The deal caps off a massive January for games industry acquisitions, take two announced an agreement to acquire Zynga for roughly $12.7 billion on January 11th. And Microsoft followed up with a $68.7 billion deal for Activision Blizzard a week later. This would be the second time bungie has been bought by a platform holder. Microsoft acquired the studio in June of 2000, securing its then upcoming shooter, halo, as an exclusive title for original X for the original Xbox in 2001 launch. Bungie would regain its independence shortly after the launch of halo three in October 2007. It produced two more exclusive halo games for the company, halo three, ODST, and halo reach, before signing a ten year deal with Activision that will lead to the creation of the destiny franchise. That's the end of the game's industry biz article from there I want to hop into a tweet by Hermann holst at Herman holst on Twitter who tweets out. I'm absolutely thrilled to welcome bungee to the PlayStation family. Bungie create community driven games with outstanding technology that are enormous, fun to play, that are enormous fun to play, and I know that everyone at PlayStation studios will be excited about what we can share and learn together. And they need to be thought a really cool graphic of the PlayStation cross bungee look. Yeah, that was cool. It looks really hot. Cam, what is your immediate reaction to this news? This was an expected I think that there is, you know, with everything that happened with Activision Blizzard, even though this obviously had been something that was planned for a while now. It feels kind of like a clapback, right? It feels like, oh, you took like Call of Duty from us. We're gonna take bungee from from you and granted this is gonna still be multi platform and things like that. But bungie, I still feel as someone who did a lot of 360 Xbox 360 gaming, like, is synonymous with Xbox. You know, kind of feels like an Xbox household name. And now it's now PlayStation is bought it. Grant, and I think that there's going to the thing that's going to be interesting about it is like how it's going to feel how I'm going to get to that transition is like, oh yeah, this is a PlayStation title now. Because it's staying multi platform and destiny is an ongoing type of title, right? So we don't really see those a game like destiny that's ongoing as a kind of identification of a certain console because of that. And so maybe one future IP come out. It's just like, oh, this next IP like is a PlayStation title. We're going to see the Sony interactive entertainment on there. But also like, I get this deal reminds me a lot of Bethesda, except for with this point, it's going on multi platform, still staying multi platform. And I get why because like bungee doesn't want future titles to go away from Xbox and PC because they have good will with those other platforms like all of destiny is on game pass and like PC is one of the more popular places like people prefer to play destiny on PC if they have access to a PC. So there's a lot going on here, especially with like seeing how the becoming a global multimedia entertainment company, like curious is to like, what does that mean? Like, is there going to be now like, are there going to be working on television shows that are based on the destiny universe? Are they going to I think that's got to be it, right? When you have a PlayStation, Ryan, you have a PlayStation productions and PlayStation going into making the last Swiss TV show. When you look at the IP now that you have with bungie, you're looking at destiny and destiny out of all the IP and I like you have that PlayStation. I would figure that is one that you do want to do something with. You do want to either make a TV show or a movie or something that people can follow, follow with beyond just the video game. Now, I also want to welcome to the show, the homie, Paris lily from the kind of funny xcas, where I know how shit to say about this. Paris, are you there? Can I just say holy shit? 'cause I was literally in a meeting and I was like, I gotta dip out 'cause, oh my God, I have no words for this happening. But good for PlayStation. Clearly they're seeing what Microsoft is doing, making all these big acquisitions and getting bungee. That is freaking huge to do that. I mean, what the fallout of this is going to be. We know they're working on a new IP. I guess it's safe to assume this is now a quote unquote PlayStation exclusive, whatever this new IP is going to be, but what does this mean for destiny moving forward? I would assume it stays everywhere that it is currently right as they continue. I think that's what the witch queen. That's how you got to do it, right? You saw that when Microsoft acquired mo Yang, Minecraft state everywhere, because what are you going to do? You're not going to pull Minecraft off of other platforms. That is a suck thing to do. And also like a sucky business decision when you already have those player bases in those platforms. I would imagine that, yeah, destiny destiny to that stage everywhere, that continues to get updates. That continues to live on all platforms. If there is a destiny three, I think that's when it comes exclusive. And I think that's where you really make the big push of, all right, let's get the destiny fan base on PlayStation. Let's really make that move. And then yeah, I think whatever new IP that bungie is working on as well, is going to be PlayStation exclusive. Paris, as somebody who is a big destiny fan, and a big bungie fan, tell me, what do we know about the new IP? Is it a first person shooter? Do we know anything about it? No clue. I've definitely seen certain people that were working on destiny on multiplayer stuff have kind of conveniently disappeared and are no longer working on it..

"It is time for some gosh. We have holy stories today. Thank you, Kevin. That was good. I enjoyed that one. That had a little like pent up aggression, which I was seeing comes from. A lot of water vacuuming. Sony. First story comes by way of Tom Warren at the verge and that story is a Sony is now using PlayStation PC label for its PC games, which is a massive step forward, and many, many years ago, that would have been unbelievable to us. But Saudis PlayStation games on steam are now published by PlayStation PC LLC. Instead of PlayStation mobile or mobile, on mobile, depending on where you're from. Forum posters on reset era notice the change yesterday. And it appears that place, the PlayStation PC company was formed earlier this year. It could mean we'll see Sony use more PlayStation PC, branding in the future. It only has been gradually growing its presence on PC over the past year after Horizon Zero Dawn arrived on steam in August 2020, followed by hit video game days gone in February. Sony is also bringing God of water PC on January 14th and the remastered uncharted legacy of these collection at some point in 2022. Sony's head of space station studios, Hermann host, pick up Herman, revealed in June that Sony was still early on his PC plans. He said, I want to emphasize that PlayStation will remain the best place to play our PlayStation studios, titles at launch. That was in a blog post on the PlayStation blog, obviously. But we do value PC gamers and we'll continue to look at the right times to launch each game. Sony interactive entertainment CEO. Jim Ryan has previously described Sony's PC games push as an easy decision for the company. There's an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognize their economics of game development, which are not always straightforward. He said in an interview with GQ earlier this year. The cost of making games goes up with each cycle as the caliber of the IP has improved. Also our ease of making it available to non console owners has grown. So it's a fairly straightforward decision for us to make. How do you feel about that Tim? Are you are you excited about seeing PlayStation games own PC? Extremely excited. We talked about this a little bit yesterday with the leak of sackboy a big adventure, potentially coming to PC as well. I think this is a great future that I fully support and I hope that plays the fully supports it and it looks like they are. Having a PlayStation PC label for all this, it shows that they're taking it a little bit more seriously. PlayStation mobile very different thing and that kind of always would make the PC stuff if it's under that label feel a little lesser than feel like a subsidiary kind of just side project that isn't really like a core tenant of what the PlayStation brand is. Whereas it doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to be one of their main focuses, but I do think that this at least gives it the chance and potential to have that expectation that if a game is coming to PlayStation, there is a high chance at least that it will come to PC. What I think is interesting here is the quota of I want to emphasize that PlayStation will remain the best place to play our PlayStation studio titles at launch that is a very crafted statement to really quell the anger of a lot of fanboys, but also to really still support the console and into push PS5 and to still unlike Xbox, not say, hey, I don't care if you play on PC or Xbox, just play wherever you want. This is still saying, we'd prefer you play on PlayStation, but eventually if you're not going to do that, we'll get you on PC. Which isn't necessarily the worst thing, but I do wonder in 5 years are we going to be looking back at this quote and are people going to be throwing this quote around of like, what happened to that? When games are being announced day in date or release day and date on both PS5 and PC. I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if at some point, maybe not during PS5, but PS 6 if it is just day and date everywhere. Yeah, I think if we do get there, it will be at a time when Sony will go well, look how much money this makes for us. There will be no retort from them. That isn't like when it comes to it like fanboys, the anger of fanboys of not having something exclusive to them is meaningless. It's only does not care about you. You as a fanboy being like, no, this needs to be my thing for this period of time. They don't care. Right now it makes business sense for them to do it this way. But if it turns out that they put a few experiments out and releasing day and date is incredibly beneficial for them and makes a business sense. Your sensitivities around having some sort of exclusivity are going to be meaningless. Which is the right way to approach it, which I think is incredibly smart and incredibly smart business acumen and savvy. Because although it is a prepared statement from executives. The things that Jim Ryan and Herman hulk are talking about in this statements are very, very true. The realities of making games in the way that Sony does is incredibly expensive. They put out some of the best, most polished games. And to not be able to double dip on those is like, it's going to be a problem as expectations for their games continue to go up. And as they make them more interesting and more like polished experiences. So they got to do this. Yeah, kind of funny games daily, obviously, a massive show, huge show, everyone watches it. I know for a fact, we know for a fact that multiple senior Sony executives watch it,.

"In april a has exceeded five hundred sixty thousand copies in rationing clink ripped apart which was which was released. Last month is already over. One point one million units worldwide. Meanwhile sony san diego developed the show twenty one which was released on non playstation platforms as well as surpassed two million sales worldwide. The game actually has more than four million players and was included in the game pass subscription servants sting. Yeah playstation five. Sales performance has been dependent on the company's ability. Supply demand with the console sold out global. Ceo jim ryan in a statement said that improving inventory levels remains a top priority. Speaking with games introduced biz. Ryan adds that. Ps five has seen double digit growth in terms of engagement whether that's monthly users or game playtime compared with the launch window of ps four quote. Engagement on the platform is the highest that. We've ever seen whichever way you look at it and quote key says tim huge numbers playstation. What you read from this. I mean absolutely huge numbers. And what's really really interesting about this. Is you know we're talking about so just under a month fashioned the playstation four match to do this. We don't even need to get into all the details about how crazy that is given the supply demand issues or having right now with the ps five. But what i really want to point out is the games that they named drop and the numbers they namedrop within like. Of course they're going to talk about spiderman ratchet but they bring up maternal. That is a game that they are out of. In part of its success. it being exclusive it being retitled. that isn't necessarily a household name house market game. It was released in april not that long ago. Five hundred sixty thousand copies sold like that is definitely a narrative that i am excited to see playstation proud of and they're looking at that as a success and i think that that is a good sign when you start looking at the rest of their lineup and for games kind of like keana coming out so damn soon. We're weeks away from that at this point and i'm hopeful that they'll be talking about that game in the same type of way you know six months from now our whatever it is and it's like building out that please decent isn't just the same type of game over and over and over again the aaa level. It is a little bit more varied in The space in terms of scope in terms of genre and just in terms of like developers of of creating these games to play either exclusively or non exclusively on the playstation five which is now getting to the point that it is in a ton of people's hands. Yeah and that's something. I wanted to touch on for sure especially when you talk about maternal is. That's that's one of the big reasons why i love the game so much but then also why. I think the game is so important for the playstation portfolio. Because we've had the conversations about what the games that playstation green lights and we'll place is known for we talk about kashima. We talk about the charges. We talk about these big third person action narrative games. And you know you re bring up return and also keynote bridge spirits game. That's coming out. As examples of playstation being able to kind of brought in that and have different variation in terms of scope budget Type of game like returnable is a playstation studios. I party rogue light game that has come out and that is kind of unheard of and that is a really cool thing. And i think that speaks to you one. The fact that playstation steals are starting to broaden what the meaning of that is in terms of the games are going to be known for but also maintain quality of those games. Like i think. I think shifting the conversation from playstation studios being known for third person action narrative games shifting into a playstation studios is known for quality is going to be the big shift that you're going to see them try to make especially when you when they bring on more places us titles with partnering with Various dubs we've seen the jade raymond city pop up and how they're partnering with them to do first party title. We've seen other things such as far walk studio which is going to be there multiplayer game that they're doing as well and i think that's an awesome thing i saw earlier in chat talking about the five hundred and sixty thousand sales figure in talking about how would have a little bit more. You got to remember right when we talk about sales figures for playstation coming off of the end of last hsien where we are talking about three million four million sold in three days or three weeks for the best selling playstation games right spiderman. God of war stuff like that. You're also talking about an install base that has tens of million users With the ps four. By that time. A hundred billion more than the fives exactly so you look at the. Ps five right. Now there's only ten million units out there return all not across shannon game. Right return was a game that is exclusive for the ps five. Only those tell it. Ten million users can even have access to that and when you're talking about five hundred sixty thousand units that may sound small for a playstation first party game but we're also talking about one twentieth of the user base. That's big for party game. You move to ratchet. We're talking about one. Tenth over one tenth of the user base in that game has only been out a month. Half it's like that's the thing is that we what we talked about a lot when it comes to exclusive titles and new hardware is the stickiness right and i feel like we've really crossed over a point generation to generation with the switch where the attach rate was so high for breath the wild and really the whole first year switch titles and that hasn't really stopped as new nintendo first party. Titles come out. Owners of the switch by them by twenty five percent of the entire switch ecosystem. And that's an insane amount of reliance that nintendo can kind of have on understanding. There's a consistency that when they put out titles of a certain caliber they're going to sell a certain amount..

Amazon's Ring cameras are building out surveillance for police (The 3:59, Ep. 566)

"The. Welcome to three fifty nine. I'm Joanie Saltzman, Alford. Ing, Amazon's ring smart home doorbells are helping police departments build surveillance networks, right from your neighbors front doors police departments across the country and major cities like Houston down to smaller towns with fewer than thirty thousand people have offered free or discounted ring doorbells to citizens. Sometimes using taxpayer funds to pay for the products. Ring owners are supposed to have the choice of providing police footage. But in some cases, the giveaways come with the stipulation that you have to turn over footage to police requested Alfred talks about what's going on here. Yeah. So a lot of people by rings very popular. They think that will help them. Stop package thieves or find somebody suspicious in your neighborhood and you think, oh, well, if it's just facing up, my doorstep, it's not really anything affecting me or my neighbors, until you realize that your neighbor across the street, also has this ring, and it's facing your house, and it can. Get footage of you and just build that out to your entire neighborhood because that's what it is for a lot of for a lot of police departments. Now they've been seeing that residents have ring so they call up Amazon, and they partner with them in this program called neighbors, which is less social media app available. It's kind of like next door where, you know it's just among your neighbors, and you post footage up. They're like, hey, look look at this person stealing packages watch out for him now when police partner with Amazon, they're allowed to request for footage directly from people so they can kinda put a GIO fence around, like a block, or something like that say, hey, we've been looking for this guy. We believe he's around here, can you send us kind of footage? That's supposed to be optional. But the problem is in some giveaways. The requirements are there are strings attached. Hey, like when we asked for footage, you're giving this to us, that's because we gave you this camera for free, and essentially, that's kind of setting up like a an open surveillance network for a lot of police officers who were never able to get cameras in these places. You know, when you get a security camera, that's usually for like a city or a big area not, you know on your block, and now they have it in, you know, these residential areas that they never really had surveillance footage of before. Well is the shock as reporting, this was shocking thing I think that's the MO the biggest thing that stuck out to me was just how much money Amazon is making off of this. So when you have a ring camera, you don't have to plan for it, but it's basically you don't you can't store any footage. Otherwise, you can just see, like alive, you, but you can save that video. So it's kinda useless unless you get subscription. The cheapest one starts at three dollars a month. And so, in some cases, Amazon will give these cameras away for free or heavily subsidize it. Because it's kind of this model of, like we're going to sell the the blade not the razors. The. I don't know. So in one case where they donated about, like eighteen thousand dollars to one town in subsidies. It turns out that, you know, they gave out six hundred cameras in that town. They can make all that money back in less than ten months, and then just continue to see their profits rise from that. So, you know, it's police like Amazon is asking police and do you wanna partner with us? And then police then go to residents. Do you wanna buy this, Amazon product, right? It's weird. Yeah. And all the money just goes back to him as on. Right. We also have an interview with Sony's, PlayStation CEO are e insure interviewed the CEO, and found out that game console maker is vowing to release have shared saved games backwards. Compatibility and more on its upcoming console often referred to as the PS five unofficially. Yes. So I mean, just trajectory wise, you know, it's probably going to be the PS five, they haven't said anything about that, but yeah, the CEO Jim Ryan this first interview since he started. In April, and he talked about how, you know, cloud gaming is gonna be the big thing Google with their stadia pitch is kind of moving toward that, too. They you might be able to play more games with your friends on XBox. And we might be able to play more games with just people on your old consulate. You might not even have to get the new PS five to play with your friends on that consulate Suming. That's its name a grant feature. We don't have all to play the council. Also on our own Ben FOX Reuben has a story. Also about Amazon unveiling the latest class of Alexa, prize competitors, who will be setting out to make the conversational Botts more real for these other stories, checkouts dot com.
