"Amala epona beat. Welcome to America first one on one. Oh, thank you for having me on doctor gorka. Well, look, I have to, when Dennis, Dennis was just gushing about you when he first mentioned you to me a month or two ago. So I can't wait to have this discussion with you unfettered uninterrupted. For those who are not familiar, look, prager you very simply is one of the most influential most important organizations pushing back on the tyranny on the wokeness on the political correctness in America. God bless Dennis. I think you're up to like three or 4 billion views already. The fact that you're hosting his show at the ripe old age of how old are you amala? I'm 21. The ripe old age of 21. I only had to wait till I was 47 to host the national radius. There must be something there. Let's test the waters. So first things first for those who may not have tuned in to Dennis this show when you were hosting, tell us a little bit about where you come from your family background. And most importantly, what your politics were until recently amala. Sure, yeah, so I was born and raised in a small town in Central Florida, and it was raised by a single mother of three who happens to be a very, very active leftist. So while I'm here working for Prague, you, my mom is back in Florida, working for the left. She is a fundraiser and works in development for a left leaning organization out there. So as you can imagine, being raised by my mother, who does happen to be white, I was very cognizant of my race and my gender from a very young age with the leftist ideology and going along those lines. So I grew up to be a very angry leftist for most of my life. I even ended up working for the left when I graduated high school. And of course, that didn't last very long because I'm

Wet Notes - 9-27-21

"This is wet notes here on scuba shock radio for monday. September twenty seventh two thousand and twenty one first up. I want to congratulate tech clark and a dive locker. Podcast on celebrating the second anniversary for those who don't know about this. Podcast tech. Started this to help die professionals with various topics and techniques. But it's not just for dive professionals. I remember listening to the first episode. Way back in two thousand nineteen just before dima that year i've come to look forward to each weekly episode tech plans to keep the show going and has teed up a lot of great new content for the year year ahead. So i'd encourage you to check out the dive locker podcast. There's a lot of great information and perspective on things that hopefully will give you something to think about. Scuba shack is a proud patron of the dive locker. By the way tech also hosts a podcast titled the league of extraordinary divers. Where you can listen to some of the giants of our industry. Great job tech. Keep it coming now. I don't know what it is. But i seem to be a sucker for a message in a bottle story. So here's another one this time. The story involves a bottle that was washed up on the shores of the big island of hawaii. The bottle started his journey thirty seven years ago from japan and it was put in the water by school children. As part of an experiment in monitoring ocean currents the number of bottles were cast into the ocean in nineteen eighty-four from choshi highschool hawaii's about six thousand kilometers or four thousand three hundred miles from the launch point now. The bottle was found by abbie graham while her family was visiting a beach near hilo. It is estimated that about seven hundred and fifty of these bottles were tossed into the ocean between nineteen eighty four and nineteen eighty five. The last time one was found was in two thousand and two on kake. Jima island overall. The bottles have been found in seventeen. Different locations including okinawa the philippines china and even the west coast of the united states. I just get fascinated by these stories and often wonder just how many messages in bottles are out there in the ocean now. Last week we got an email from the clearly clearly came in resorts and it wasn't good. News clearly came in resorts include cobalt coast on grand cayman. Little came beach resort and cayman. Brac beach resort. The news informed us that the cayman borders will remain closed until two thousand twenty two. Now that's tough at a recent press conference to premier indicated that phase. Three of the original plan will start sometime. In february given the rise in cove in nineteen cases the resorts are now planning on opening on february. Fifth two thousand twenty two. Now this has been a really tough situation. If you remember way back in april i reported that the plan was to open in late april or early may two thousand and twenty one. It's been a long and difficult road for a lot of places. Surely the caymans are feeling abroad. We hope it gets resolved before october. Twenty twenty two trip yet. That on certain there's been a great deal of communication coming from tom. Ingram the president and ceo of dima the dive equipment marketing association regarding the two thousand twenty one show in las vegas. Tom unequivocal be states. That the show has absolutely no plans. Of cancelling now they did indicate that accordance with the local health mandates. Everyone will be required to wear a mask on the exhibit floor. There are several large past exhibitors. Who are forgoing the show this year causing some to question whether it should even take place. I know we've been getting a lot of surveys from our vendors as to whether we plan to go or not right now matt and i will be there. Tom indicated that it would be extremely difficult to cancel at this late date. Given the contracts that are in place and that if it were cancelled it would seriously impact demon's ability to put on these shows in the future. So we're looking forward to a successful show this year out in las vegas and finally today. I wanna talk about a piece of underwater camera gear that you might just want to consider. There was an article from sport diver magazine by john widow titled great camera accessories for underwater photography. It was a scuba lab review of the products that the staff took diving at alexander springs in central florida. First on the list was a sea life. Sport diver smartphone housing. Now that's pretty cool. I can remember my first. Underwater camera was sealife. Reef master with a whopping three mega pixels now. This housing will fit a number of iphones and android smartphones. The housing is bluetooth enabled and his rate it to one hundred and thirty feet. The sea life sport diver smartphone. Housing comes with a vacuum seal and duly alarms when you purchase the housing. You'll get a free app that will give you access to most of your phones. Usual camera functions also included is a red filter. And if that's not enough to housing allows you to put in those sealife life color changing moisture. Munchers he i remember those now. The housing isn't cheap. It retails for two hundred ninety nine dollars and ninety five cents. Us but if you wanna travel light and still get some great underwater shots of your adventures check out the c. Life sport diver smartphone housing at sea. Life fash cameras dot com. Well that's it for this edition of wet notes here on scuba shack radio.

"Of harbor house of central Florida Michelle I know that you were one of several groups coming out to talk about the the dangers of domestic violence increasing when we're going through something like this cove it at nineteen finances are strained and that creates issues doesn't it it does and then also just the proximity of people who are living together for some people who are already experiencing domestic violence going to work we're going to hang out with friends are going to a restaurant is a break away from that that abuse their in that relationship and with the limited movement that we are asked to be doing right now that just put someone who is already in a domestic violence situation and dating abuse situation it just a greater risk because they are around each other more often okay so why don't you talk a little bit about it if you can answer but about this that you at harbor house in addition with several other entities let's see help now fossil the victim service center and so on I have are are working together to build this awareness so so tell us what you've done so far tell us what the plan is the plan is we really want everybody to know that even though the the community and a lot of businesses are shutting down around them that we are still open that during the time that if they need help with it didn't services that they need to reach out to a therapist a victim services is open their crisis line is open to be able to help someone who is experiencing the thoughts of suicide some had been raped someone who needs help in that way and then also for both of the domestic violence center that we're open available and advocates will be there will be reaching out to you the best that we can via email or via social media on our Facebook page or even if someone to call into our merchant the hotline that work and still be able to be here to help you and for those of you who are in a domestic violence and their attorney in domestic violence situation now and you haven't gone into isolation and you're scared that you can come in zero shelter right now order that we're gonna be available if you do need to flee so that the peace that we really wanted everybody to know is that for us were staying open we want to make sure that people know that if they need help they're gonna be able to get help and then also that don't let users use this as an opportunity to abuse and so abusers might take this as an opportunity to hold the three items such as hand sanitizer or disinfectant Thor they might use misinformation to control our frighten individuals are living in the home or the kids that are living in the home that they might withhold insurance cards and threaten to cancel the insurance to prevent someone from seeking help and so we want people to know that it's not OK for your partner to threaten and use what's happening in our community against you and that you can be you can still talk to somebody that you can still get help and to not feel as isolated as someone may want you to be all set on the show before that silence and isolation is an abuser is at best ally and here we are saying to everybody go home and you're going to be safe and we really want people to know that that's not the case for everybody we understand and that we're gonna do what we can to help you get through this time now is it the state attorney's office that sort of spearheading this it has been called a coalition yes she is and the reason why is because she wants and users to know that even though there's a lot of things are changing in the world and that you will be held accountable if you take this as an opportunity to abuse your family being here your partner your child or even animals and then also law enforcement will be there to respond as well that this is not at a time where we're going to get lax and what it is that we do for a living and she's not gonna get lax and what it is that she does for a living and Michelle's Purcell is the CEO at harbor house thanks for joining me today thank you very very much for talking about this very important issue.

"Of central Florida, more on that in a moment, if you are tuning in for the very first time I'm Tony Marino, alongside Chris Irvine Chris is the senior instructor at the Online Trading Academy in Orlando OTA has now taught more than a half a million people how to navigate the financial markets over the last twenty two years. Twenty two years and still growing forty seven Online Trading Academy. Locations now nationally and internationally. They have a core patented strategy with which Chris is going to tell you a little bit more about coming up here through the course of the show. So you know, they're doing something. Right over there. The Online Trading Academy has two locations here in central Florida one in Orlando. It's actually right off of I four in Lake Mary. That's where Chris works, and the second is in Saint Petersburg, surfing, the entire Tampa Bay area right down this phone number. You're going to need it a little bit later in the show. Eight eight eight six one eight nine two four nine again, eight eight eight six one eight nine two four nine is a good chance that you're driving. So maybe somebody else in the car can write it down for you. And if you if you don't get it right now, we will give it to you again, many times through the course of the program, and that is not the number to call into the program, but to call for an opportunity that we are going to give you coming up here, a little bit on the show. So once again, it is, the O T a radio show, fueled by the Online Trading Academy of central Florida, and we are thrilled to have you back with us or have you with us for the very first time. And Chris Irvine I am thrilled. To be back here with you once again, my friend, all righty. We are ready for another fantastic OT radio show. Yes. Absolutely. The only problem with this radio show, and I probably say it has every week is, we cannot fit in nearly enough information in one hour, you teach or host three hour workshops all week long. And you can't even fit it all into three hours. So. Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of information and know about the markets. Right. Right. So I got I gotta tell you, I was teaching a class this week. And there was a gentleman who says, oh, you're the person on the radio, you're the voice, and I said, yeah. And I said, I hope that's a good thing. He says. Absolutely. That's a great thing. He said, so really what's Tony like. This has happened before why do people always ask that question, and eventually after several other comments, I got around to the fact that Tony's actually a really nice guy. So what he sounds like on the radio, this kind of guy he is. But I did play around with that in advance of getting to that point. Oh, yeah. Told them your slave driver, you were a terrible person to be around. But he's really difficult to work with nothing. Like he sounds on the radio absolately, right? But I had to break it down and tell them the truth that you're pretty good guy. Well, I appreciate you saying that, I really appreciate that gentleman, asking about me and listening to the radio show. Most of all, and every once in a while, when you say, hey, you know, I ran into somebody, and they're asking about you or somebody in the class was asking about you. It seems to be that's always the question. Like what is Tony really like? And I don't know why people you know, this is me. This is what I'm really like I'm talking to you now. Yes you there in the car, going Home Depot. Yeah, I'll be going to Home Depot later today or tomorrow. You know, I just a regular schmo, that, you know, works for the man like everybody else, just a little over five feet tall. Well, not everybody else. Chris, Chris Irvine doesn't work for the man. He's a professional trader. And that's why we're here. We want to teach you a little bit about trading, perhaps turn you on to the trading world, the financial markets, help you create a secondary source of income. Maybe someday have a whole new career. So I've got a question for you. Okay. Okay. The question is, what do you think that most people consider to be rich or really, really, really wealthy? Are you talking about like, like an overall net worth on an annual income net worth? What do you think your net worth has to be for somebody say? Wow. They got going on. Okay. Well, we've had these conversations before, and I know that, that number is going to vary widely for different folks. But I'm going to guess you know, you're saying the average the average person thinks the average like three million bucks your little little high now. And I don't mean that in a negative way your little bit high on your number, but you're actually fairly close I'd say three million. I guess this is from a survey that Charles Schwab did two thousand nineteen. Okay. And it said that the what it takes to be to have a really high net worth is two point two seven million dollars now point two seven. Yeah. That's obscure number trying to be precise. Right. Right. But that can include your house. It can include your 4._0._1._K's anything that you own your cars. That's your overall network. So they say two point two seven million dollars is you look at somebody and you say, wow, they're pretty. They're, they're wealthy, right. They're very wealthy. Right. So if we back that down to what the rest of the world's actually doing the interesting thing was that they said that the typical family in the United States, kind of the average number that we're dealing with is six hundred ninety two thousand dollars. Wow. The average that you're saying that's the reality of what the average net worth is. Yeah, if you go hi right, too low. Right right in the middle is. About six hundred ninety two thousand dollars. So but, but people generally think need two point two million to be considered wealthy. But the average person is average family about six hundred ninety two thousand so they don't really consider themselves to be well, right. Consider themselves far from wealthy, right? I guess the other the other stipulation in this article actually it's not in the article. But if you have six hundred ninety two thousand dollars net worth, and you have a golf cart. You own a golf cart, right, chased, you own a golf cart. No, I do not. Do you own a golf cart? No, I do not Tony. Do you own a golf cart? I do own a gun. Guard. I'm not I'm not going to tell you, I'm not going to tell you what my net worth is. But it's, it's not two point two million dollars, but I do own a golf cart. Okay. So let's let's go with another number here. And this is really I think, when I don't want to derail this conversation. But did I did I tell you that I'm having my golf card wrapped in camouflage? No, you're not. Yes. It's going to be so cool. That is terrible. That is terrible. You can have dropped. No, I want to have it raised up, actually. But come on a camouflage golf cart out on the course that's gonna look cool. Okay. Go ahead with our with your important story. So it says, if you look at the median, though, for those at the fiftieth percentile the amount is significantly lower is ninety seven thousand three hundred now that includes your housing that you own includes your cars and includes your retirement includes everything. So we have. But that has to be people that don't actually have a home. Well, it's possible. Right. Or maybe they're home is much smaller. Maybe they live in a place where the cost of living is much, much, much more. The point is we go from wealthy at two point two seven million dollars. Then we kind of, you know, drop that by three quarters right to get to kind of the average. And then when we. We go with the mean we're at ninety thousand you go. Yeah. You dropped dramatically. So you go from like the preconceived notion of wealthy to reality, and then to the real number right? So the question is, if you're in the lower portions of that. How do you get closer to where you wanna be? I'm assuming more people wanna be closer to the top in the bottom end. Right. Right. And there's there was another article on the same website. It's on CNBC that I thought was kind of interesting. It said this was a self made millionaire, he says the number one way to get rich there. This is the number one way to get rich and most young people are not doing it. You know what it is? Working investing stock market. Well, there you go. That makes sense. Yeah, investing in stock market, and I have some people that come to the workshops just this week and I had somebody say, hey, what do you think about, you know, such and such a broker. Or there's sometimes these apps now that you can buy a couple of shares here. Couple of shares. Their yes. And people think that they're actually trading when they get involved in those apps, and I have to say you know what this is like dipping your toe into the markets, but it's really not learning how to trade or learning how to invest properly, because most of the time, when people are using those app scenarios, they just, you know, get a, a wild hair, and they think I'm, I'm just gonna go ahead and buy a couple of shares apple. Did you see what happens, right? Or a couple of shares of whatever and just see what happens. And the truth be told is that if you're going to try to invest in the markets or trade in the markets, you can't go about doing. It that way, you have to have some knowledge and some understanding of how the market's actually work. Otherwise, you're gonna get creamed. I may have told you this. But my son bought I forget, if it was five hundred shares thousand shares, but I think he bought five hundred shares or thousand shares of some like Chinese stock that was like ninety cents a share. And now he's like I'm in the market. Yeah. He's he just turned nineteen know he's like going out with girls. And he's like, oh, yeah I'm in the market. Well, that's that's good. Because this article says that only thirty seven percent of young Americans age thirty five and younger say that they've ever owned a stock while it's good that he's really interested in it, and I keep telling him about the Online Trading Academy and some, some day he he's probably gonna go there because he really wants to learn how to trade, but to your point, people just buy some stock, and then they think they're trader or they're in the markets when you're in the market that doesn't mean you're making money. Well, let me let me, let me just explain real quickly. What we do at the academy we're in the business of helping average people learn how to trade, and to invest in the financial markets, given the, the knowledge and the background and the understanding of how the market's actually work, so that maybe someday you can get away from being in that lower median range and work, your way up the financial ladder to a place where you're comfortable and doing what you wanna do..

"Real estate in central Florida, Cynthia welcome to real estate today. Thank you. I'm glad to be here. Or we're glad you're here. So Cynthia tell us now what is a real estate investment trust. And how is it different from any other kind of real estate investment? I can do. It's a great opportunity for people who may not want to physically manage operate and control the real estate by being able to buy stock into a company that does all that for you. And pays you dividends. Interesting. So Cynthia let's do this. Let's compare being a landlord to investing in a ret-. You're owning real estate without the headaches. And you don't have to come up. With more money is dependent moose out house. You've got your investment. And that's it. If I have a rental condo. I get a rent check every month. Now, how would that compare to a repeat to read you could get monthly dividends? But more than likely they're going to be quarterly interesting. So when you look at all the complexities of investing in a rental property, you've got the mortgage, you've got taxes you've got upkeep. You've got maintenance you've got possible vacancies, and you balance all of that against a nice rental check that comes in every month. How does that compare all in all to owning stock in ret-? Instead, you have none of those headaches. And none of those bills going out you still get your dividend. Check unless the company goes under or they start losing money drastically and can't pay out dividends. And so if you were invested in a rate that owned guerrilla state, if you've watched in and track with them over history, it would be no different than you owning the real estate from the standpoint, if the market crashes a crashes, so if you're owning real estate, you're going to be showing out more money to keep it going, even when the tenets Connor the market goes down when you own it in stock in wreak, they're showing it out you may not get your dividend. But you're not gonna putting more money into it. I see now.
