Halo TV show will air in 2022, alongside Star Trek
"So viacomcbs held its big investor presentation paramount plus which is rebranded and rebooted version of an existing service called. Cbs all access. What did we get yesterday yesterday. There was this three. Plus our event designed to unveil the scope of paramount plus says this revamped version of cbs. All access in a kind of inauspicious. Start this event that was supposed to talk about how the company is going to be really competitive and streaming ended up starting half an hour late because they were having problems streaming so that wasn't a great place to start but generally the main focus last night was squarely on programming all the titles that they're going to be creating the originals the exclusives movies and shows that they're going to be leading into sort of cbs's stable of networks and brands and intellectual property in order to hopefully they hope draw new subscribers to service that has been around almost since the very beginning of services like this. Yeah let's take into that. Because cbs all access has largely been known for shows like star trek discovery and well star trek card and star trek. Lower deck's star trek. What else are we gave from paramount. Plus it how does it differ from. Was he this. All access had been about the last two years. Generally i would say that. The basic proposition of paramount plus is pretty similar to cbs. All access some of the things that make. Cbs all access a little bit. Different from other streaming services is baked into ciba's access. You get a live feed of Your local cbs channel most streaming on demand streaming services. Don't have both. I kind of live and on demand element integrated within them. That doesn't really change paramount. Plus the things that are going to be changing. Like i said it's really about how they're trying to expand people's concept of what's this entire company a includes and so what that is that they're going to be making a lot more originals based on things from comedy central and tv from nickelodeon there's going to be a rugrats boot and an entire new studio dedicated to avatar the last air bender Universe shows in shorts and movies and they're going to be leading really hard into the paramount. Pictures movie studio that the company also owns. They're going to be reviving some franchises from that movie studios past and they're also going to be bringing a few of paramount pictures new theatrical movies to permit plus to stream earlier than would be normal. This is nothing like hbo. Max streaming every single warner brothers. New movie the same day as it hit theaters but subscribers to promote plus a will have the opportunity to stream movies like quietly to the new mission impossible mission impossible. I think at seven on the of subscribers will be able to stream that basically a month and a half after those movies hit theaters. So for example quiet place equal you'll be able to stream in november. That's not as aggressive as as some other services but it does change the proposition. Little bet from what people were used to. Cvs all access right and so. Let's get some details. How what is the service actually launched and home was the cost and did it does it differ from. What's he has. All access was charging. Yeah well this is something. I was kind of surprised that this is going to be such a confusing transition. What's happening is in one week on march fourth they will essentially replace. Cbs all accesses premium tier with paramount plus in a launch on the fourth in the us and across countries some countries in latin america as a ten dollar a month subscription. And that gives you everything on the service. Add freight then in june going to widen paramount plus to be sickly launched a cheaper ad-supported limited tier. That's five dollars month so that's comparable with similar tier that's already on. Cbs all access. So both of the services have these kind of like cheaper ad-supported tears and premium more expensive inclusive tears but ammo plus is going to be rolling them out in. This staggered way which is going to create some confusion for current subscribers and also perspective subscribers know. There's going to be period of a few months where there's going to be multiple apps that have the cbs name in them was have the paramount name in them. And it's going to be hard. It's not as simple proposition for consumers to figure out what they wanna get and where they can actually get it with all those moving parts happening at once so we saw out some difficulty with. Hbo max when hbo max launched last year when they had not only at hbo max as an app out in the market but hbo go and hbo now still existed as made that transition. That was a really bumpy road for them for a while. Because of consumer confusion now add in the element that there is not only just like. Hey there's one subscription it's one price none of that change now. Add in the fact that you've got to tears which launches at one time one of which doesn't launch until another time and those things have different. They unlock different. So it does seem like it's setting up a really a really bumpy transition for them to

"The form of real are. Why UK ransomware Tribune publishing said the LA times and San Diego union Tribune earlier this year me the LA times. Tribune publishing sold the LA times and the San Diego union for five hundred million to Dr Patrick soon. Shiong the biotech billionaire here in Los Angeles. An advisory to the US department of health and human services cybersecurity program earlier this year described real attacks is highly targeted well resourced and planned and they are ransomware. And usually the first outbreak of this started a couple years ago, and it was usually targeting HMO's and a couple of hospitals. I think early on in Kentucky and Tennessee they had their systems locked up and some cyber interwebs, computer. Basement hacker said we'll unlike your computer for a million of bitcoin, or whatever they started paying whatever the ransom was it wasn't ridiculous. It wasn't like ninety million dollars or anything like that. It was enough that they could actually cobbling together and get the site unlocked and many many experts at at wired and the rest are saying that was probably a big mistake to do that that that affectively what that was was the equivalent of having your kid kidnapped and the kidnapper saying, we can do this real quick for five thousand bucks, but you can never ever report me to anyone. And so you go do it you get the kid back, and you don't warn the FBI or anyone that there's a guy out there, you know, kidnapping kids that this is settled very quickly, it'd probably shouldn't have been. But so anyway for the LA times. I I guess no harm no foul or or whatever. Yes. Guess what? All you LA, USD studs. The if your kids are at the in the LA USD the district is planning on using subs. If the teachers go on strike, they're making a Raymond's to go back to school with or without full-time. Teachers hundreds of substitutes have been tapped in case staffers. Go ahead of the strike on January tenth some say. It's a sign a deal is not incite hundreds of schools across LA layers set to go back to school a week from tomorrow and one local who spokesman CBS channel to Los Angeles says her kids won't be in the classroom full-time teachers aren't there with them? Oh, sorry, lady. Jenness Schwartz says, quote, everything they're asking for is for us it benefits us they want. Smaller classroom sizes. They want less testing. I'm keeping my kids home. We don't cross picket lines close. You know, what they always say that crap they say at a lower student, whatever ratio. But winds up happening is they continue hiring one administrator per three teachers. It's it's ridiculous. If it if it did actually lead to lower teacher to student ratios than that would be a first fairly unified, which which by the way, again, you're not being anti union. You're not being a scab if he's simply point out that that LA unified is a vast multibillion dollar annual budget. It's the second largest school district in America. And it has some of the worst outcomes in the entire country like fifty percent graduation rate, and that they have ample budget for smaller class sizes. Do you really think teachers are going out on strike because they want fewer students in their honestly. But go ahead. Go ahead up. Your virtue signal is is left on. But you're not changing lanes. Speaking of taxes, we're talking about tax reduction strategies tomorrow on your money while TV show, watch it and San Diego at six thirty AM on CBS channel eight from beer or watch online at your money dot com. New episodes air every Sunday. We have Carol from San Diego. She writes into us Allen. I'm a divorced woman in my seventies. When my former husband dies will. I be eligible for part of a social security payment. We were married over twenty years. He now has another wife. All right, Carol. Well, you you actually potentially could receive a benefit right now because you're married ten years or longer and if you're if the spousal benefit from your former husband, which is essentially half of his full retirement age benefit is greater than your full benefit. You can be claiming that right now. The second part, though is when he does pass away you be eligible for a survivor benefit of your ex-husband again because you've been married ten years or longer. So you have to look at his benefit versus yours. His benefit is higher than yours, and he passes then you can clean the survivor benefit on his benefit. Yeah. And I think it's worth noting that the the spousal benefit. When in other words when your ex husband is still alive. He does not have to approve of this. You have the the right to do this with or without his consent. Sure and looking at and he doesn't have to be claiming his benefit, you know. But I'm imagining he already is if you're in your seventies. I would imagine you guys were close to the same age. So you're good there. You could look to see if the spousal benefit would be higher than your own. You would be eligible for that. But yes, when he passes even though he has remarried that's kind of the little wrinkle. Their maybe where she got confused is well would his survivor benefit be entitled to his now. Current wife versus former wife, and both wives are actually entitled to the benefit. If they choose to rate take. So that's I think that's not widely known like let's say we'll say we'll just pick on a guy a guy gets married. Six times ten years each time start at age twenty whatever eighty ninety whether mathworks and so each of those former wives can claim the benefit the spousal benefit and the survivor benefit if it's greater than their own. Sure. So doesn't necessarily matter like because to spouses per se next thousand a current spouse are claiming on this benefit is what do we split it? And you might think that because when you get your social security statement of there's got like this like maximum family. So you're thinking, well, maybe maybe we're all part of the family. But when when it comes to former spouses now, you're not part of the family, you get the benefit to grandfather was married six times. But only one of them for ten years. Okay. Well, that's the only one is the only.

Yes, exactly everything comes back to the pocket book. You're exactly right. Yep. I love it gets a lunch date. So it gets a lunch date and. When he was at TMZ last week talking to what's that guy's name from TMZ who Harvey. Harvey, whatever's whatever. Yeah. What was Harvey's what was Harvey's role in the whole Levin? Yeah. What was Harvey Levine's role with the OJ situation way back in the day. He played some kind of role in that. What was it? I don't remember LeVine OJ trial or something like that. What was his role in all of that? That's where I remember first seeing the guy way back in the day. Anyway, Katya, look it up. So what he was at TMZ last week talk with Harvey. Conway said he's been tried to encourage Colin Kaepernick to sit down with Donald Trump. Crazy. Okay. What if okay what if there was that sit down and somehow? It worked. The meeting came away as it was perceived as a win by Colin. And yet it was really a victory for Trump because he sits down with Colin. It's a friendly exchange. It's very civil. And then at the end of it all the president says something nice about Colin Kaepernick. Yeah. You know? Listen, we don't agree on this kneeling thing. But he is a good guy. And I wish it well in life, and he's made he's made a million for Nike. I'll just tell you that right now. Yes, I will. So he does that. And can you imagine? How many more black people say, well, okay. Trump's not so bad after I thought he was a racist. But he's really not. Yeah. You could make something like that work. Yup. Which is one line. Yeah. That's all just one line. I'm seeing here. Brian Harvey Levin was a criminal trial. He covered the trial as a reporter for LA CBS channel two. But then back in March of two thousand sixteen he released a video where he talked about. How he didn't think? OJ went over there to kill Nicole Brown Simpson. How he thinks. I just went over there to slash your tires, and he was like this big. So he was simply a reporter back. Okay. That's where I remember seeing him. Did you say was with CBS CBS channel to LA? And that's because I worked for CBS at the same time. Yeah. He was covering it. But he did kind of. He he made the news again back in March a couple years ago talking about the trial. So he has made that he's made the news because of OJ a couple of times. I only remember him. Then it's the reporter because we both worked for CBS. And he probably a channel five giving us reports for the okay, I'm with you. All right. Well, the guys to his credit. He has built for he goes from CBS reporter to building an empire with TMZ. It's just crazy. No. He's a genius guy is a flip a genius. Okay. So we got all that for you and more here on campus. Some of the other stories that we're looking at a global warming is back in the news. Let's got to make a comeback at some point in time. Nobody buys it. So the United Nations they've got their big climate report out there saying we need to eat less meat all the flash link created by those that livestock, overeating and the pigs. They're saying we need to eat less meat and then to save the planet. We've only got twelve years another one of these deadlines. How many deadlines they brought forth over the years. Anyway, we've got twelve years this time, and we got to give up our cars. Oh, we're gonna have to give up the cars. We have twelve years until twelve years is up. And now we're gonna have fourteen years, and then it's just gonna keep calling, and I guess everybody has to get an electric car. Oh, can we talk about how that works? Yeah. You're going to dig out the stats. So that for you. Right. You wanna talk about the carbon footprint it leaves behind when you try to dispose of one of those electric car batteries. Yeah. The disposals one thing, and then the charging is another radio unless you're charging these things with peer solar appear wind. They're consuming probably natural gas and a little bit of coal. But again when the tesla vehicle is running in optimal conditions at sixty five miles an hour. It is consuming at equivalent amount of electricity as sixty four sixty four window, air conditioners. And that information is on the level. So we got global warming there. MIT Harvard says for every degree the earth warms two percent more humans will develop mental illness. Oh, so the earth's warming is causing mental illness. That's it. I wonder how they quantified that. That's it. Well, how how are we to question this? They're harvard. MIT must be true. Then. Okay. In the meantime, I'm looking at this woman's list that she is enforced for her boyfriend. Okay. This guy's an idiot. If he stays with her for even one moment, I can't imagine. After her note went viral. They're probably getting along too. Well. How did this go viral who posted it had been? Well, did she posted thinking this is the way we roll around here? You are not to have a single girl's phone numbers, this chick can't she's her command of the English language in written form is really poor. You are not to follow them on any social media, including Snapchat, and sweater. So no, you can't follow any women on Snapchat or Twitter. You're not okay. Let me see you are not to go. To Honda without me. What's honda? Dealership. Broom broom go to Honda without me. Okay. That's a real big date night in our family too. So I got you are not to hang out with your friends more than two times a week. You were not to look at a single girl. If girls come up to you Eddie place already time, you're to walk away. Oh boy. You are not to get mad about a single thing. Ever. You're not to get mad at me about a single thing ever again. You are not allowed to drink or less. I am with you. Oh, my goodness gracious. Yeah, just don't do it. But this was very intriguing, very intriguing. Like I said to her neighbor knew something was going on. And then later on. Accent throws a party like a pool party a party with her kids and her neighbors kids and the, you know, neighbor. Her husband are there with her husband and. You know. The neighbors like behaviors off something's wrong. I don't think I want to come over for a little while she was kind of winning what was going on with Iraq San in. It's gone through some personal things that nobody really knew about this. She didn't confide anybody about. Actually, there was situation I believe where, yeah, she when she were to second Bank, I think was. She wrapped into the Bank. And when she got done, she had to go to a family outing. She showed up for it might have been family. There was a family dinner or a party at the house. But there's a picture of all of her and her husband. Her neighbors there altogether in this picture was taken basically after she did what she did the Bank. So yes, she was definitely leading a secret life which is very intriguing. She should probably write a book on this. Maybe she will now that the episode came out, but the next. So it's going to be about a lady who's doing like a Ponzi scheme with her neighbors. Looking forward to watch him that that's the second episode. So I'll watch this weekend, but I'm definitely hooked on this show now. Usually don't do true crime shows, but this one. Oh, yeah. Oh, yes. Just PTA moms who's to PTA mama. Why she do. I can't wait to see what the PTA mom did for crime. I can't wait. So what happens when these people get caught? Do they do serious time is a lifetime is in the middle. Are the tip they make it. You know, a light sentence are the technicalities to make it a harsher sentence. It's all just really intriguing, but I really, really enjoyed this episode. Like I said, Iraq San seem like a nice lady who got caught up and had some who needed help and didn't know how to ask for it. And because that took down a path that. Wasn't good for. So, but you know, I guess the moral that's story is if you need help, ask, don't ever be too proud. I think all of us can kind of get too proud sometimes I've been able to problem time. So if you need help just ask. Yeah, she needed help and she did not ask and she just went about doing things and just make things worse. But it's a great story. It's intriguing. You have to tune into see how an end, but I really liked it. So yeah, I'm definitely what the show. So check out pink color crimes. It's on CBS channel that work. So that's actually retro television, but they came with it. So that's very cool. It airs on Saturdays at eight pm eastern time. So check it.
