Pills flowed for years as DEA dragged feet on disciplining opioid distributor

"There are concerns about how the revolving door between government and industry may be impacting the U.S. drug enforcement administration's mission to police drug companies blamed for tens of thousands of overdose deaths in the U.S.. The DEA has allowed one of the country's largest wholesale drug distributors to continue shipping highly addictive pain killers for nearly four years after a judge recommended the company be stripped of its license for a cavalier disregard of thousands of suspicious orders. The company is Morris and Dickinson and a high profile consultant it had hired after its registration to supply painkillers, was threatened in 2018, is now the DEA administrator's top deputy Louis milian, the DEA has not responded to repeated questions from The Associated Press about its handling of the case, but two people familiar with the issue say that last week after the AP reached out to the DEA, the agency abruptly notified Morris and Dickinson that it has decided to revoke its registration to distribute control substances. "AB sports I'm Josh rowntree, major news Wednesday in college basketball is for the first time in nearly 5 decades. Syracuse will have a new head coach, more from correspondent Dave ferry. Basketball coach Jim beheim said at a news conference Wednesday that it was up to Syracuse to decide whether he returns for a 48th season. The school quickly responded by announcing that assistant Adrian Autry is replacing beheim, who was second on the all time wins list for division one coaches. I've been lucky. To be able to do it. Coach this long. His resume includes 34 NCAA tournament appearances, ten big east regular season titles and 5 conference tournament championships, along with the NCAA title in 2003, but the orange haven't had a 21 season in four years. I'm Dave ferry. On the NBA hardwood, CJ McCollum dropped in 32 points as the pelicans topped Dallas one 13 one O 6. It was good, man, but I'm just trying to win, man. I think that's, out of the score, a lot of points in my career and I hit big shots. I'm just trying to do what I can to help the team win. So it was nice to make some shots and make some plays, but it's even better when it comes in a win. The Cavaliers got by the heat one O four 100 as Evan mobley says defense led the way for Cleveland. I feel like we played pretty good defense. We were in our spots. Sometimes shooters got out. And we followed the shooters. We could do a little bit better with that. And then also them driving middle, but overall I feel like we did a good job. And Boston smashed Portland one 1593, Jason Tatum had 30. Al Horford added 17. "You make in season deals if you're a team like the Celtics for two reasons. Or for any team, you make in season deals. If you think you're a player away or this is the best moment, most advantageous moment to pull the trigger on it, you know and with the Celtics isn't necessarily in season. You might wait till the off season. But you do have all of those TPs that expire by June. So if you're going to use that one actually goes late, doesn't it? 'cause they did that for you. No, they're like, June, and they're, I think you have one after one in the actual off season, but two are during the season. So when did free agency start? It was August, right? Yeah. So the fournier ones. But it's normally it won't be. Well, when did they start the season this year? Did they start normal time? It'll be in July then because it's right around 4th of July. They'll have time to do it while the off season's going. I'm fairly confident about that. Sometimes they move it if the season changes dates. Just to make it proportional, but if it's just a year from the date, then it will be I guess. Because that's when they actually did that trade. But we'll see. I don't know that exactly. I had the dates somewhere, but that is the concern that you do have. Well, you can do that in the year, right? Like, pick up the salary, hopefully it's a multiyear guy rather than a fournier, you can do the schroder thing. You can do those in one deal together. It's just going to be expensive if you're taking a lot of money back for Schrodinger. Let's say the stuff they can do in year. I think the big blockbuster everybody's waiting for, especially with all the teams packed in the middle of this year. And I don't think that's going to change anytime soon and all this COVID stuff that emerged. I don't see a ton of action this year. I think all this stuff is thrown at for a wrinkle. The new playoff format with 20 teams get in, as well as the COVID situation in the league. We'll see..

"Yes, you're right. Brown, that's much more his mentality, you know, if they're getting it off a miss and he goes and you know you're keeping the defense on their hills. Tatum just gets those boards and walks and he just can't get that out of his head, you know he's been better. He's better than this. It's the one thing that's still drives me crazy. He's so deliberate. You know, after grabbing a defensive board and turning it up and you're right, you do see Jalen helps them do it. They are generally speaking from a pace of play perspective, not, you know, not one of the faster teams. Can I say this too? And I've had conversations with other fans at this point. I've looked at the trade machine. I've given this more thought than I ever have before this year, just given where they're at and the trade value that we've talked about. They should never, ever trade Jalen. For anything. They have to keep them. They have to. He's just too good. You can't trade a guy. We've talked about selling low for him in the pieces. That would be a disaster just in terms of value. I don't think there's one from one trades out there. At this point, the lid one. I'm kind of out on ground being the guy in the middle of that trade. Simmons certainly I'm not swapping them out. Sabonis? No. Like, who around the league would you town? That's the point I know on towns for him. Everything is a lateral move unless you get pieces. He's too good. Everybody's begging for this guy. I adjusted Rowan on dome theory and he's like, can we get Jalen to Cleveland? Please, please. We'll give you anything. Well, I mean, I think it's silly. Did you guys see the bleacher report? Suggested trade today for sabonis. All for Boston? Yeah. I didn't see it now. We take Jalen for granted, and when he has good games, we're like, yeah, 'cause you expect that. But it's been a weird year for him. So in a normal 80 game year when he drops a game like this, you'd be like, okay, so it was a Jalen night. And then tomorrow is a Tatum night and then blah, blah, blah. But it's three games back. Let's talk about how he looks physically. Charade, you're there, Bobby, you've been there. You guys have been at the garden. You're watching him move. Do you see anything? And again, it was obvious how poorly he was moving the first stint obvious. Whether you're at on the quarter TV, his expression, his everything in between, you could tell he was just stressing over it, even if he wasn't actually grabbing at it. How's he moving to you guys right now? I think he's moving decent, but part of his biggest problem, I think is more mental than physical at this point. I do think that there's some mental scar tissue that he's kind of breaking through and getting past because this is an injury that has affected him twice, at least two times to where he's missed significant time. And that has a way of causing some second guessing of your body when you're out there. So I think Jalen, what he's finding is that as the game goes on, his body is saying, this is okay..

"I don't think that's his fault though. I brought like rob, you can do so many things if you just someone unlocked it. You know, like, I don't know if it's putting him in the gym for frigging a month straight with KG or different off season regimen or something like that. Or eBay saying, we're involving him in the offense in these ways. But there's still he's got leaps and bounds year over year and they're still do you know how many there is so much untapped potential here because you see it in flashes so you know it exists. And then the next time you see it completely disappear in your perplexed by it, you know? So I wrote about the celibates offense earlier in the week and there were some startling stats on his involvement just between passes to him and pick and roll plays. Now the pick and roll plays are only going to be placed where he takes a shot or it leads to a shot, so even the pass outs in those situations might not count. But I found that he gets one pick and roll dive a game, like between one and two, which is just criminal when you think about the efficiency of those plays. He's in the 80th percentile of pick and roll roles. But you only get two a game. He only gets about I think 7 passes a game total. I gotta find the exact number on that one. But the usage rate for him is just staggeringly well for how efficient he is. Yeah, it is. It's the usage is crazy low. And that's why again, he received 17 passes a game. I know, I mean, there's sometimes where he's got two field goal attempts and you're like, you want to say, is rob not being assertive enough and then you realize, he just never has the ball in his hands, never has the ball. But then again, you see those times where he picks it up on the, you know, at the elbow. And his shoulders aren't even square to the basket. He's never an offensive threat. He's facing sideways looking for the handoff and then to go kind of roll or you know or peel off or you know so he's not even he's not catching and squaring and making himself an offensive threat. He's not there. He knew that. Yes, but like I said, is he has enough of a stroke to be able to threaten that elbow jumper? It's a free throw. If people give it to you, you take it. He has a good day, either. But he doesn't even look. He doesn't even look for it, you know? The free throw of shooting is worrying me because that's a way teams could continue to neutralize him. I think he was one of I think that's a, I think it's a blip because we've seen him. And I don't think see anything mechanically wrong with it. I just think it's the Golden State one where he's really bad in that regard. And then I think it continued against he didn't play in the Philly game. So it must have been that back to back with New York and Golden State there where that fell apart. Listen, you want to start to see those areas you.

"Want kyrik Brown. I want forte. No, you know. No, you know. You know what this other need? Right now, if we're talking about in terms of that 2001 scope, they needed a trade piece like Joe Johnson, so flip for two pieces like Tony Dell could Ronnie Rogers in 2002. That's what the missing. That's the piece we've been talking about. You know, none of these big blockbuster deals no. A low grade deal like that where you got one solid piece and you're a couple of veterans. A couple of better to return that on the right side of 30. Let's go back to making all the wrong moves. Listen, Bobby is before you time, I think he was two wins away from going against the Lakers in a fight. Rogers and delk were good for a minute, but, you know, that was a fun. They'd need to be very good for a minute. Why were they training the Chauncey billow? Are there high level young guys early in their careers? The main name Rick Latinos out of his mind. Rick patino lost his freaking mind. That's the shit I had to live through. I mean, the tail end of it at least. The whole thing, it was a strange era. Really strange era. Oh man. Let's hoping on entering another one. So I think it's just so funny. It's been a strange few years here for sure. I'm like, what is this team needs to flip? That's too bad, but. I want to talk rob, we're going to talk Jalen as well. This was an all around, you know, what's funny is I was getting annoyed with rob's goofiness again. Early in the game you spend in the first quarter. He was driving me nuts again because he's just kind of doing a sloppy rob like, you know, not looking, and there's just, I got so annoyed with him. And then he, like, the time he dribbled and he just tried to pass and, you know, I just, I don't know. I was losing it. And then all of a sudden, you're like, he kind of like discovered his powers, you know? And everything started going well. Can I call that CEO in the lane? I'm about to die. I gotta get my charger. You guys go. Can I can I call that seal in the lane? Run out with the Euro esque step there. The best play of his career. What's so funny is while he's doing it, you're like, he's thinking like, should I just keep going? You know? Like, the whole time he's like, can someone come get the frigging ball? And he's like, I guess not. And he just kind of kept going, you know? He just levitates to the ground. Dang, you know? Awesome. Yeah. That was rivaled by Cantor's frigging dunk. Oh my. That I had to rewind. I had to rewind that was like, was that that was Tatum, right? And I rewind that. God, it was cancer. Of all people talking on somebody too. Oh my God..

"And again, the founders, one thing we want to tell you about. They're local. They're from, they're from western masks. Yep. No. Oh yeah. Located in Salem with a location and sounds Springfield. Bobby jumped the gun the Salem location is near as high. But their lifelong pals from Springfield. There's a couple of locations out there, one near the MGM casino. You can also go to east Hampton or as Bobby. Salem. This is the thing. Not enough people took advantage of this. So we're going to tell you about the deal one more time. If you go there and you mentioned that the garden report told you to stop by, you get a T-shirt for a penny. That's literally all I have to do. And then you get anything else you want there too. That's not on us, but the T-shirt is on us. One penny. You know what? And I have a couple t-shirts and they're very comfy too. So go to. That green one. Otherwise, go to insad dot com or call 8 7 7 500 insert for any inquiries you have about anything else going on. But if you want the T-shirt for a penny, just mention the garden report, go get yourself some once again. Have a good time. Yeah, have a good time. Visit the various locations throughout Massachusetts or go to insad dot com or call 8 7 7 500 insight. Now it is, it is. I mean, I'll never forget when he was the most improved player. When he got interviewed, he was so it would seem like he just woke up and just like he was out of it. But it doesn't mean he doesn't care about basketball, right? Doesn't mean he doesn't care about becoming a better player. So I don't think he got mad and I had summer league and we were talking to him after one of the games and he was upset that that perceptions out there about him. He's like, I care about this game a lot. I hate that people. I think that's fair. But this is the year that we're away from put it all together. You know, it's funny because, you know, Donald, you were saying earlier how he's been solid and you know, but what does he do exactly, right? It's like a little bit of everything, but nothing. What do you do here? Yeah. So it's like we're seeing flashes of who we think he is and then we're like, well, when's he gonna put it all together? Because some nights he doesn't even show up at all. Yeah. It's the Jack of all trades Master of None sort of thing you're right. Here's the thing though. What I will say what I'll say happens to these guys sometimes, some of it's on them. I think some of it is also just simply, you've got alphas on this team right now. And it's unless they're going to say, give me the frigging ball. It's mine. You know, there are going to be games where, I mean, Marcus smart has two games in two out of the last three games that jaylen Brown is back. He's got four field goal attempts and 7 field goal attempts for four total points, two out of the three games Jalen's back..

"I think he's, I think he's really confident right now. Right now, the only thing hurting him is he gets called for fouls that are like kind of medium fouls. So he can't play as aggressive as he'd want to, because every time there's a little bit of contact, if he's on a star player, the call doesn't go his way. But he's really up in your shirt. He's really, really playing a tight. Fights through screens, all of that stuff. Quick, quick recovery too. You know, if he does, if he does get beat, he recovers quick. He's long, he challenges. He's been outstanding on the defensive end. And again, he's getting that little in the lane mid range sort of stuff. The drive, you know, I want to see him very little stronger sometimes. The offense, I know. I think that's the part of it. That's the part of his game that would be really beneficial because in transition. He's getting back on defense, but in transition to convert those buckets. I mean, that's where I think it would be useful. He's a guy you would think and this is what I like with him on that first unit. Because there'd be no attention page to him. He's got he's got the options of either, as I said, kind of being that corner three guy and sit there and, you know, again, it's not lights out, but he's shooting at about 37%, which is respectable but very low volume. Very low volume, man. But you want to see him cut, run the baseline, all of that stuff. You saw jaylen found him once underneath for the dunk. Three times in a row. Yeah. He's got to be the right place right time sort of guy because he's going to be the beneficiary of a lot of stuff with the attention going to the other guys if he's playing with that unit. You know? He could really do a lot filling the lane, cutting, you know, moving without the ball. And then drive when you have it, if you get it, and the defense is late coming over, attack, you know? And I think he can do that. Yeah, he has playmaking potential to he can get downhill and find guys. He's done in very limited opportunities. So that's sort of like a Hayward S kind of thing you want to do, see him do what the starters, the secondary ball handling. He's not going to give you that level of shooting. But Heyward did, but you want to see him leverages dribbling and stuff in there. He doesn't have the burst and the lane either. There's a lot of things that limit him offensively, which is what prevents him, I think, from becoming a shoe and started with this group. You'd love to combine these nest potential shooting with his defense because they're sort of two polar opposites in that sense right now. But Shirai was the biggest Romeo stockholder. I did say come on. Oh, here we go. You can't rule out him becoming the constant among the young guys just because of the defense..

"Look what happened to Pritchard here, you know? I mean, obviously not being shot is an obvious thing that helps us chances, but also just being engaged on both ends of the floor. I think you did a tremendous job tonight and the same thing happened a couple nights ago. Why do you think you went to the bench or? I think it's just at that point now where there's because there's no stable group or a collection of players he can rely on. I think he's just got to reach. He's got to try. Experiment, to me, the one thing I always loved about Brad Stevens was that if you were on the active roster, you knew there was a chance you might play. You absolutely knew that was a chance. And I think that if there's one thing if there's only one thing you may, I would like to see him adopt from Brad, that will be it. The fact that there's the field as though they need because it's going to get called. You're going to get a chance to I don't think he necessarily does that as well as he should. I think he's understanding, as he learns how to be a head coach, you got to empower your players to feel a little big, they've got a shot at playing every night. 'cause there's nothing worse than seeing a guy ahead of you playing like crap, and you don't play at all. Or you don't play much. Especially like 30 games into the season. Yeah. What do you think? What do you think it was, John? With what? Why started? And yeah. I think size played a role into it as well. So sometimes you just have to look at the other side and see what you can get away with there. But in this case, that would be a consideration, but tonight they started two point guards Cleveland did. So I don't think that that would have been it, right? Because you didn't have a liability there. I would say I'm saying size generally could be why you wouldn't want to go with the two shorter point guard type guys there. If you're so used to double big and playing the three wings allows the switch ability and does more things. So the defense and the size would make sense regularly. Not necessarily in tonight's game. But that's why I like it there. I also like it for shooting. I also think just in terms of roles, it's much easier, it's much easier to hold your rotations when you're not constantly moving people around. If in your mind, you want Dennis schroder to lead that bench unit and that bench offense. You know, it makes more sense to plug someone else into the starting lineup and leave them there. And so maybe now that Jalen's back, he's decided I've always wanted Dennis on that second unit. So I'm keeping him there. And that's just. That allows you to set your rotations. It's not as much a demotion as it is. This is the role I envisioned for him and I need to start using him in it. I've got guys all right now that have the ball in their hands a lot in that first unit. And I don't want gen us out there with jaylen and Tatum right now. It's going to muck things up. Plus I still want Marcus to have the ball in his hands 'cause I want him to be out there making plays for those guys too. It's just kind of in that role. It's a stranger combination there. So I don't love it when they're all in there together that much and maybe that's why. That's what I would guess. I don't know if he talked about it or not for why he went with it. But we've been talking about it from the beginning..

"He's one of your few reliable guys in terms of rotation players here. I'm not going crazy about what Pritchard nee Smith Langer did this week. Extra opportunity for sure. But let's not forget those guys. They got some opportunity early, and they struggled immensely in a prichard, especially kind of hit a shot to start this year. So I'm not a 100% ready to sell this position out to purchase if we're going to go in that direction. And again, I think some people in the chat are suffering from selective memory with some things like at least in this group. I'm a big Dennis supporter. And I think he's been critical to what they've done early. I'd still even though I actually like what Dennis schroder does would have traded him at the peak at his peak value, simply because I don't think this is a year that they're going to contend. So yeah, if he starts playing well again, I'm all for it. In New York, thanks for there, though. No doubt about it. Especially if you know there's something there that's going to be a reasonable facsimile. You know, and that's all you're trying to get from Pritchard is, oh, okay. A little bit of offense and a guy I'm not afraid to play, you know? Because his minutes over the first 20 games were really, really bad. But the last few times out, a bit more confidence, getting into the lane a little bit better than he was before. That was something that wasn't happening at all early. And the shots falling. So that makes a huge difference. And he's not killing you on the defensive end either. He's even grabbing off. He's been good defensively. So you don't have a beef with him right now. I like what we're seeing. Yeah, I like what we're seeing, but you know, it's still a relatively small sample size compared to what we've seen prior to when it wasn't playing great..

"But when the teams back in full schroder has a role to play, and that role is the get to the from the bench, drive that offense, score some points, energy, you know, Vinny Johnson microwave sort of stuff. You know, come on in there and do your thing, but you can't be this frigging inefficient. You can't take every shot when you're out there and you can't miss every shot when you're out there. In addition to the turnovers and everything, I mean, this was all around just The Crown man of crap games for dentist Schroeder. This was Harold tonight. So when you see this, I get it, all the detractors immediately are going to be like, see, he's the worst. One, I think he's a little hobbled, but two, when he plays like this, and you start to see things from Pritchard, which you have over the last couple of games that makes him look a little bit more competent and usable. You can start to make an argument now about, you know, about the minutes. Yeah, and that's what you really want. The one thing I think I want to see more of is like real legitimate competition. Where guys who if you're struggling is a guy that's ready to take your spot if you're not getting it done. Is that what you are starting tonight was? I kind of felt that way, yeah. I mean, I love with Romeo did today. And the other guy we can talk about him later with rob, I thought was rob was for sensational today. He's going to get some great flow at both ends of the floor. There was that one sequence defensively. And we talked about rob you know as far as being just such a quick jumper where there was a sequence where he contested the shot was out of position. The guy reloaded, was able to contest that shot. And then a guy just. Ready when you called upon like Romeo like Pritchard and Joe swash is not. We give him all these examples and he's just like, what? Why? When you get your opportunity, you got to cash it in, okay? That's what they say. Yeah. Absolutely. Isaiah Thomas when he was in Boston, people forget that Marcus smart had a little ankle boo boo and that's how I did Thomas actually started playing..

"Charade zannis, it's doing a boomer show in honor of Joe Johnson, the kids, didn't feel like showing up tonight. I think they're coming. Josue is at the garden, Bobby. Is somewhere, but he's going to join us in a little bit. And we'll talk about I don't know what to say about this game. There's plenty of good stuff to talk about, but I mean, you basically played, I mean, JV is an overstatement for the team that you played with the Cavs tonight. You had a couple of couple of players, but man where they thin. I mean, and this is just what's happening in the NBA right now. So I guess you just got to kind of live with it. But you know, still a positive win. Absolutely. I mean, for this team, anyone is a positive one, but particularly when you can get it when you can play a lot of different guys and everyone leaves relatively healthy. That's a win on every level. But obviously for me, I think for a lot of people, you know, the story was just Joe Johnson and just Joe actually getting a chance to get out there on the floor. Do what Joe Johnson does, which is get buckets. I feel and honestly I feel like oh, garden Wi-Fi. Garden Wi-Fi coming in, but Bobby's here. Sorry, we lost you for a second. I do want to give props to charade here as he's kind of unfreezing. And I think he's back with us now. Sharad literally willed this into existence on the a list podcast. Earlier this week, just simply said, you know, with what's going on around the league, someone's going to go out there and sign Joe Johnson. It's inevitable at this point, you know? You know, he knew something. Joe Johnson is perfect for what's happening in the NBA right now. You need guys who have a clear and undeniable skill. Joe Johnson literally in the two minutes the woman in 57 seconds he played did exactly what Joe Johnson does. Get is he perfect for the Celtics, though? This is who he is. Always has been always will be the 45th greatest score in the NBA history, which is saying a lot. I mean, only 44 guys that score more points than him ever played in this league. Joe Johnson, he's just a dude. So if the Celtics stay where they are right now, I'm fine with the signing. It's a nice publicity thing. It's full circle. It's part of the coolness of the story, charade. This is the only silver lining of the last week or two here. If they do lose more guys though and they actually end up needing these players, I think CJ miles, Joe, those are like the worst signings you can make in terms of a guy that can come in right now and contribute these guys haven't played in the NBA in years..

"Let's date. I'm going to do a Larry Bird. You think why not? You think pierce growing up in LA did not have Lakers to look up to? Are you kidding me? He did, but it's like a different situation heat. Remember, he talked about like, oh, I went to the cell 'cause I roll, 'cause he was a Lakers fan. Yeah. That was when he was could you on college and pierce wearing a frigging Magic Johnson Jersey? Coming into the garden. Coming into the garden. But that's the thing John. It's like making the point. Now you can get a million years. You can't imagine that all the time. Right. It wouldn't happen. It wouldn't happen, but now it happens. And it's a fashion thing and I get it and it's fine if it's fashion, I'm cool with it. But for me it was just like, okay, you're putting on the leakage Jersey and you're like reenacting a very Lakers moment. And obviously it was a great quote moment. It's just what I sometimes sit that well with Celtics fans, like iron Celtics fans like, you wouldn't want to see it. It's not a great thing to see. It's not a great thing to see. You can understand why Jason Tatum led Kovan but it's still not a great thing. He wants to do it. Well, maybe don't do it. It's that easy. I don't mind that. I don't even mind that he did it. I don't even mind it. Whatsoever. I just want to see a little Celtic or just Boston bride a little bit. Just right. The difference now? This is my city. Something like that. So just wait, but the difference now is when pierce was going through as a young kid all the way up till you got traded. All those Celtics legends and everything was like indoctrinate themselves where it's Celtic shirt. They were magic did at a very bad knock the bird Jersey as a sign of respect. Right. Right, right. Totally different. We're ignoring the context. Why would magic where why would magic look up to anyone on the south days? We know what Kobe I think we can oh no. They were like best Friends. I know, but we understand why Tatum and many people. It's not just hate them. Kobe's a mammoth. In basketball history. Much bigger than magic or Kareem. I think he's right up there, if not bigger for people. Less about Kobe, it's more about, of course. Who's arguing that? That's all it is. He's not popular. Yeah, but this way. St. Louis there. Obviously not gonna say anything, but it's just like, the next day you come in with a bunch of Lakers though, or whatever. I guess what, John? Social media. At all. Friday, okay?.

"But when he goes bad, he looks too when I checked in the first half. More than that. And then he had at least one more in the second half. Turnovers. He had three. So everyone just needs to realize two and a half and then one more. You know, you can't you can't put the magnifying glass on every single turnover from Dennis schroder. And so you see, he turns the ball over. Because that's about the two he throws one to the guy who had a bad one potato super Marcus does. I mean, like, Marcus had a couple brutal ones tonight, too. I mean, it's again, it's like they both get a clean up agendas on like just isolating the thing you don't like about the one guy. Yeah, he's had some high turnover games for sure. John, what did you say? What did you say? Yesterday, he's like, if he didn't turn the ball over, he wouldn't have been available to you this awesome. Right, exactly. I mean, that's pretty compelling. Right. So you got to take a couple of awards here. I don't think Schroeder I think that he's more likely to win you a game than lose you a game. Because I don't think I just don't think to turnovers if that's the one knock on him. Or if he has a bad shooting night, like, I don't think his, I don't think this tells you what allow his role to be big enough for them to straight up lose you a game. I'm not saying he might miss a shot at the buzzer and you might lose, but I don't think Dennis Schroeder can kill you the way jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum can kill you if they just completely shit the bed on any given night. Well, that's the big question, Jimmy. And I asked this today, is he going to keep starting? Because there's a real case here. You know, you blow a game wide open with 38 and you're looking like the lead score many nights. It's a case there to be more prominent than what they're doing here. But it feels like they still want them to be that 6 man. So, you know, touching them. The thing I said about that over the weekend is, you know, and this is where I'm torn on it because I like what he brings, but really the only thing that matters is, does he make the Jays better? Or is the lineup better when he's in it or not? Versus smart, say, you know, if you went back to the original starting lineup, which apparently he may was planning on doing before rob got hurt. So that's what you're kind of, you're looking at smart instructor, right? I'm looking at smart info. But also I'm looking at looking at the pitch. Adjustment Schroeder, how would that look? And right now, Schroeder with Jason or Schroeder with Jalen a Schroeder with both and Marcus with both on their own independently, the numbers don't really tell you a story that makes it clear one is better than the other..

"Go to their job because we're talking about the kiddies. And that's the problem. That's the thing, you know? You know, I catch some flag for it in the comments, but like, you know, nee Smith is a basket case, okay? And every time I'm critical, I remember when was like he's young. There's a lot of young people who are way more poised and doing better things on a you know on a semi regular basis. He's all over the place. So he's got to do one thing to keep him on the court. Last year, it was effort and energy, and that was enough to give him a shot, but that was a bit of a reward, not necessarily you make us better, but you're working. You're trying. I'm going to give you a shot. The guy has to settle down, get to spots and get some shots off and they have to go down. If he's not a shooter, he's useless. Prichard's kind of in the same boat. If he's not able to get into the lane and dish or create. I mean, he got in there once and frigging mobly blocked it with his elbow. You know, like, I mean, you know, you can't do that, man. It's a freaking prose. Like, you gotta know, that's not gonna work for you. Or just he's got to get that shot off, and I don't know. Did he pull off did he start the game with the face mask and took it off in the second half? I can't remember. I think he took it off. Anyway. But, you know, you're gonna get to the point where you gotta wonder. I don't know because we don't see enough of practice when we go to them. You know, what kind of shooter niece Smith is? Didn't we just find out he just broke a record? Broke like a Tatum record for like consecutive threes or something like that, which again, it's great to talk about that, but I think back to a conversation I had many, many years ago with Rashid Wallace, who was talking about how amazing dark mileage was in practice. And but then she would end by saying, but it's a completely different game when you're playing a game. When the lights come on, not everybody can perform one of those. No doubt. Yeah. But at least you know it's there. Like, I think the worry with ne Smith for some people out there is, you know, it was, you know, you know, you got rook there. It was, you know, a bill of false goods because the sample size was so small because he had that shortened season in his last year Vanderbilt Vanderbilt. Yeah. Sorry, yeah. I almost said Tennessee. That was great. Last season there. And so I think he only took like 45 threes and he made 20 of them or whatever, and it was like, oh, he shot 50% for the year. That's a really big number, which is great, but it was a small sample size. So I think there was concern with like, did we just get duped over this really, really small sample size? And he's not nearly the shooter that we think he is. And so I like hearing that in practice he lights it up and can do that. Because it means that's a thing he could theoretically do if he was able to slow the game down and figure out where the hell he's supposed to be standing and get the shot off with some sort of rhythm. Every release he has in a game looks different to me. You know, just he just, it's not nothing looks smooth..

"You 50% off your initial deposit off. All right, well, come in. And that's a wrap. That's the show by guys. 123 Cancun. Yep to lose against. This is a method upper-right. This is much as I have to say. That's it. That's unfortunate. So, you have time to Celtics have left John speechless, look at home. You know what? Bobby's going to say something. That'll accept me. More than what happened tonight? I'm sure. So, I don't know what. Bobby go. Go, go, go, go ahead. Now, the pressure is on the do it. I was going to say is that you should a sense coming into today, that's what Brad. Said, free game that the teams kind of packing in at this point they're in a good position to walk up 7. They obviously have some guys with some bumps and bruises here. So it wasn't surprising to see smart kind of packed in and we probably won't see him. The rest of the way. I'd imagined rabu definitely won't see the rest of the way as he tries to recover from that tariff do. I just wonder dog. Rodger and I were kicking this back and forth to start this one. Why is Tatum playing heavy minutes on a back-to-back? Why is Tristan Thompson still out there as he deals with a peck strain, you push in those guys and off the others back and you still don't even win the game. You kind of you said there in this game that you thought the Celtics were trying to win. John, I didn't see anything that pointed that out today. I didn't see it from an effort standpoint. I saw it from a strategic standpoint. You started taking them, you played Tristan, wasn't a hundred percent you played for, like I said, we can debate the merits of starting to remount Waters tonight. I understand the philosophy. I think you wanted him to calm down sex in a little bit. That was the theory behind that. I'm not saying it's the right call, but he clearly played the best. What he thought was the line up to win tonight's game, but I just didn't understand any of it, you know, like, you know, what's the point of planning? If you're not really going to try? What's the point of keeping Tatum out there till thirty seconds left in the fourth quarter of a game that had been decided for a while. Like why is dead? Still playing heavy minutes. Like what do you? What was the what are you doing? What are we doing here again? Know I think a lot of that has to do with them thinking that they had thousand. Not to beat the Cavs you guys. Don't think that I mean, I know that's not what it looked like when we watched it when it washed it unfold when they started. Yeah. Yeah. But I don't, I mean to to what Bob you're saying, you know..
