"Looked good. Yeah, I think that the supporting cast and all the role players trying to fit in around harden and embiid is now that was kind of my concern last week. And I still think it is somewhat of an issue. We saw Tobias Harris is really figuring it out hard and spoke after the Knicks game saying that Harris passed up 5 or 6 wide open spot up shots and tried to put the ball on the deck and that's the type of player to buy users is. And he hasn't really been super confident in his three point ball. This season, so. It's not a given that he'll fit beside harden and Bieber. He can't ever really develop a rhythm. I think they called, they probably called more than one play for him in that game, but the one I noticed or I only noticed one play called for him. And you know, as you were saying, there's staggering these two guys, which makes a ton of sense. But I mean, Hardin's playing those benjamins with Harris a lot, too. It's what it seems like. The plan is right, right, right. We'll see about in terms of backup 5 Willie cauley Stein they signed to attend a, you know, I don't know if he's going to be able to kind of make the most of an opportunity at some point over the next couple of games. Paul Millsap is a backup 5 probably not viable in a playoff run where you're trying to win four playoff series. So we'll see how that shakes out. But maxi has looked really good. I think that that was also a question mark. He just, I mean, he's just such a really he's just a really special player. Like I love tyrese maxi is probably my favorite player on the team, honestly. I don't think it's the best player on the team. I think he's my favorite, just to watch how he kind of single handedly increases the tempo. You were talking about how the Knicks and the Timberwolves really weren't able to attack Hardin defensively. They tried a little bit, but. It really gets you out of your offense when you're trying to run like a pistol action on the side, and force a switch, and they were doing that with fournier and Randall a little bit. And the Knicks are just garbage. So they turn the ball over and I was going to say trying to say, some teams, I think, are going to be able to do it better than others, right? I look at it seem like Atlanta that's almost kind of begging you to switch all their actions because of the number of similar sized guys that are playing on the wings, et cetera. Miami with their off ball movement. I mean, if they try to hide harden on Duncan Robinson, they're going to be running him through screens, control hand offs with Pam. Chicago is going to be a really, really fascinating matchup. Especially when they're at full strength. I'm not saying these teams are better. I'm curious. I'm excited to see it play out. I'm not predicting it one way or another, but I'm really excited to see it play out. There were a lot of good games on yesterday, by the way. Sunday, I mean, 6 years in its game. Did you watch that jazz suns game? I did watch that game. Yes. I was watching it, and I down the stretch. Down the stretch, I thought the sun's had a really good chance to win that game. I think they kind of lost it just because they got dominated in the white side minutes actually. Their starters were playing really well. Tell me what you think of this. I thought it was a little interesting. Late in the game, they're obviously running high pick and roll with Gobert. With the sons have been better off hiding Deandre ayton in the corner on Daniel house. Putting Crowder on Gobert and switching everything. So taking a playbook, taking a page out of his playbook, basically, where they put rob Williams on a wing and they put jaylen Brown on the big so that they can switch everything. Sure. Yeah, if you want to give him credit for coming up with that basketball strategy. Well, I mean. You got to do what, okay, so if you do that, I don't think that that's wrong. And it just felt like they were getting a really good shots in that game, yeah. Yeah, and I mean, Mitchell's pull up three. He's super confident in it. And so you really can't deep drop. So maybe the adjustment is to bring 8 and a little bit higher on the floor, but then also you got to be tight with the rotations on the backside if Gobert is rolling and but Gobert's just played really great basketball in the past. I don't know like a week and a half. But yeah, I mean, you always keep me on my toes. And I really appreciate that. We have a son's related question coming up that display, but let's go back to the sixers for two seconds. I guess just like. Defensively, is that the biggest concern now for you? I know, I feel like sixers fans are very angry at us because we frame everything from a negative standpoint where we're looking for the flaws in this team, I'm just dubious still because like harden holding up, it's strange. Disbelief for me hardened, just looking so bad and then suddenly looking so good and why like what will it take for either his body to suffer another tissue related ailment or I don't know, something about it at this point is listen, I'll just say I'll just say Mike, I just want to see like I'm a skeptic because frankly. This sounds like such an old man thing to say. I don't know if it's because I'm turning 30 later this year. I just want to see some more like respect for the competitive spirit of the game. That's what it is. Like James Harden, you've put on two teams in a row, you've like time and time again had playoff failures for the last ten years and I'm not one of those obviously there's nuance to those, there's contacts, et cetera, but I'm a skeptic just because I just do you want someone who so clearly quit on two straight teams to like, are you excited about this? How do you get excited about that? How do you get excited about someone who is willing to just give up on his teammates? You know, it was one thing in Houston where although, again, he was the one who, do you look at what happened in Houston, for example, okay? He couldn't get along with Chris Paul, and he said, get this guy out of here. They bring in Russell Westbrook. It doesn't work. He said, yeah, you can trade Russ. And now he's like, I don't think this team can win. I want to get out of here. And it's like, again, like escaping any accountability he had for all the failed partnerships he had in Houston. He says Philly was his first choice. I just have a hard time believing that that was his first choice and he somehow ends up in Brooklyn. But okay, you end up in Brooklyn. Yeah, you're playing with Kevin Durant. He's one of the best players in the game. Arguably the best. I understand this Kyrie thing is literally a once in a century once in a lifetime. Once in a generation occurrence with this pandemic and the vaccination rules, et cetera, he's getting fed up, but we just saw him openly quit on his team in that Sacramento game..

"I'm assuming, hopefully this means Willie cauley Stein is all good because we've been we've been concerned for a little bit now. There wasn't a whole lot of reporting on exactly what was going on with the Dallas Mavericks. Why he was away from the team, but now that he's popping back up with another team, they regardless of what team it is to me that's a positive sign for Willie cauley Stein the person. Yeah, absolutely. Willie cauley Stein left the Mavericks right around Thanksgiving. And it had been ruled out for roughly a month and a half straight with per personal reasons. That's why he wasn't playing. Well, with Dallas, I was put on there and active list and just kind of left there. Hadn't played all that much prior to leaving the Mavericks, mavericks, roster structures so that they had a ton of bags. This year, so he wasn't necessarily really a big part of things. But yeah, and then we had wondered about it for, as you said, for a very long time of jeez, well, what's going on there? The Mavericks let him go mid January. But now, so hopefully that means everything is cleaned up and his whatever that personal issue was, hopefully, all the best to him and his family and everybody and everything is good. And now he's going to join up with the 76ers who they need another center. They're back up 5 right now is it's kind of Paul Millsap kind of Paul Reed. They've got Charles bassy, The Rookie who they like, but you don't really want to be reliant on him. So give cauley Stein ten days. Essentially, what happens when you give a guy a ten day at this point? It's almost kind of a tryout with CEO looks. Let's see. Let's see where we go, and off we go from there if it all works. So we'll probably do ten zero, and then sign for the rest of the season. Like another big, just did. In Denver, our guy boogie cousins. That was, how is that trend? That was nice. I like that. It was almost like it was almost like you're a professional Keith. Almost. So yeah, boogie cousins sighing with the nuggets for the remainder of the season. This was expected. He had played fairly well for them. Yeah, we'll see what kind of role he has come postseason time. My guess is it's probably more of a match adventure. Triple kind of thing. Yeah, matchup kind of guy. They'll mostly roll, I think, with Jeff Green as the backup 5 to Michael green. There's Zeke naji when he's back healthy and ready to go again. For them, who's played quite well the second air player in Denver, if you haven't, go check out Zeke naji stats. They're pretty good. He's starting to show a little bit of that did anybody see this coming kind of thing with his shooting range. He can really shoot the heck out of the ball. And he's starting to defend a little bit more too. And was expected. So yeah, he tend to play him a little bit more at the four. Identify, but you put him out there with Jamaica green or Jeff Green kind of interchangeable at them..

"So yeah, it's possible they're still kind of floating around that 500 range, and as you said, you can't trade everybody, and you can't change all the players. So these are decision kind of becomes at that point of whether it's the right decision or not, ultimately becomes. Someone's going to be held accountable with probably going to be the coach. Right. And that would be my guess, because yeah, I don't see anything big, comment. And I don't know too, I wouldn't be looking at the bio market as here we go. We're going to get all this help there. I just don't know what's going to be there. Yeah, we have no idea who's getting bought out. People bring up Kevin Love a lot, but who knows what that situation is going to look at. Look like he's not as long as I keep playing well too. Yeah, he seems happy there. They're happy, so yeah, I don't think we're going to see that either. So we'll see you Frank vocal gets a lump of coal in his stocking or not on Christmas. I've got a question coming in here about the Mavs. Luke Byrne from YouTube are from YouTube from Twitter. Said Dallas is getting killed in the paint night tonight. What center could they realistically trade for or move on from players like Powell, Willie cauley Stein, et cetera? Yeah, now this is where I'm glad he added that second part in there because this is where it can get a little bit interesting because you could do cauley Stein and Powell. That's about $15 million. Powell has one more year left at $11 million, but that's not horrible. Enough where you can make that work in a trade. And that's before you get into any kind of your more core rotation guys. So then it becomes all right. So that's $15 million. Who's a $15 million center? They can go get. Or just somebody who can help. I think the number one target team's looking for center help that's going to be out there is going to be looking at is Robin Lopez. On the magic because he's doesn't play on any sort of regular basis because they've really kind of settled into Bomba Carter together. Eventually Jonathan Isaac is going to come back, which means one of Bomba and Carter is going to go to the badge. So you're going to end up with that's going to kind of be your three big rotation at that point is going to be those three guys because by then mo Wagner will be out of the rotation and all those things. So it's just not a lot of room for Lopez. He's only making 5 million. So very easily tradable salary. And it's 5 million for just this season. So yeah, they could go get them pretty. I mean, that's cauli Stein and a second rounder. Probably get you Robin Lopez. If you wanted to go that route there, kind of looking at bad teams. There's just not that many bad teams..

"A radio interview. Do i think jimbo fisher on the hot seat. And i'm like what alternate realities has got living in. He just signed a new trillion dollar grand track. Well that's okay. I had a couple of weeks ago in baton rouge lsu fan. Look me in the eye. Guy that i know and he says tom the worst thing that ever happened to us was winning a national champion talking about. What are we talking about paul. They're the best season in college football history arguably did and now everybody. But that's right. That's why you're shows on the air. That's why people tune in to the games. That's why our bosses can write a big check to the sec. People care and they wanna win talking to tom. Hart who does a saturday night game. I guess people knew that already do you. Do i do every well. You do everything don't you. Yeah i remember talking at the college world series. I talked to During basketball your double dipping. Today you go see basketball But did the seasons do converge. How how do you deal with that. Because it's did you know that we're going to be on the air sunday afternoon with kentucky basketball. I didn't know that. Yeah yeah i tell. Kentucky is sunday right so basketball's kind of started on the tv side and the big blue. Be back next. Friday night for that It's i wouldn't have it any other way. I feel like and you were a ton right. I feel like the more. I work at keeps me sharp and it keeps me focused and it allows me to crossover and there's a lot of you know. There's a lot of experiences that i have talking with coaches in different sports. That are relatable to the next sport. For example last year every football coach talked to talked about heidi deal with kovic. What's the playbook now. How do you deal with your your team. And matter of fact. I had a conversation with mark. Stoops about motivating guys and how hard it was knowing that they could opt out any second knowing that the transfer portal was waiting for. And how do you. How do you motivate them in a traditional coaching way and then sure enough two months later. I'm having that exact same conversation. Frank martin right so a lot of that translates from sports sport. I just. I dislike it. Because i can move on. I don't have to see cole cubelic during basketball season. Yeah i i usually have a fast witty. But cohen. I r- dear friends. Were we all affiliate. Same radio station in birmingham. I don't want to lose that relationship just to be funny. I'm willing to risk that. yeah. I'm curious because you you've done. All the is a game a game or how football compare to me. It's a big game tomorrow night. People all i mean how does that compare to a big kentucky. Basketball game engine. Not so much in terms of the enthusiasm. But just it's a different type of broadcasters. Not so i can answer a multitude of ways but just to get in the broadcasting minutia side of it too bore everybody out there but the bigger the game to me the wider view. You take because more people are going to be watching. I catch heat from kentucky. Basketball fans say what. Why do you guys always tell the same story you know we know willie. Cauley stein played high school football. I i know you you. You can't tell the kentucky basketball fan anything. New during a telecast but what you can do is engage the audience tuning in because it's kentucky that maybe isn't familiar with every single individual player and their background so to me. It's let's widen the lens so to speak because we're gonna have a larger audience this week. We had two weeks prior say and then in turn tell the story of these teams and by the way one of the biggest stories saturday night is going to be the crowd. The atmosphere kroger field. Right i mean not death valley on a saturday night. This this is something new to these fans. Go back a few years ago with benny stalin. Those guys they had a great season. But there's something about the innocence of fan base. It's really into it and it's new to them and what you said is interesting because a people i tell stories and they've already heard this story right but not really and you can feel it. I would imagine the bigger the game and you have some really big games. And let's be honest. I mean there's some games that you probably are going. Oh my goodness that's when you try out the jokes the oh. My goodness games did that. One fell flat. We're gonna have to refine it. It's like playing when the big comedians go out and they show up unannounced and in new york club. Just to play at six o'clock set. You can try that when you're doing say a mercer game. I did that once. I can't remember it was it was a. It was a speech. But i had i had overbooked. This is and i had to. I had to go do this other one before dinner. And you could tell nobody wanted to okay and and you're literally just you're just talking the talk but gives no. Nobody's even listening. They're drinking what's your. Do you have a notebook of of one liners jokes. She got rubber chicken anecdotes. That you draw. I'll tell you the Audience has heard this. But now that you've asked. I spoke to are really big event. Once i mean we're talking two thousand lawyers and they. This was a group that spared no expense. And i gave what i thought was a really good speech. You know experiences meeting people like tom hart along the way and the guy called me after. We really really liked but next year. If you come back we really like to tell jokes. That's okay great. So i so i am going to kill it next year so i. I really made me uncomfortable because i'm not i'm not. I'm not a joke teller. And so i called a friend of mine. Who's a who was a joke writer for jay leno and we had this session. We spent a couple of hours. He wrote all these shows and he said this is where you begin. He said i've given this joke to leno. Before in vegas he said it will kill. Get up there in front of two thousand people. A man's walking down to the supermarket blah blah blah not. It wasn't like it was what we call courtesy laughter. There wasn't there wasn't even Guffaw and. I said this the next hour i told jokes it. Nobody laughed at at some point. I get some ladies that. Why don't you get some material. So i just okay lady you just. I'd begin sparring with these. I mean who. They think they're hiring sinbad. Exactly we do that happens all filled in for another guy once kevin elko who's psychologist. He called me so i. I'm snowed in pittsburgh so i went. I told the lady she'd literally chased me to the car. she said. I paid seven hundred fifty dollars for a motivational speaker. And i didn't get it. I i said here's tony robbins. Try this. I'm really sorry. Lady i have a good thought i'm i. It's more engagement mondays. A matter of fact it is more nerve wracking for me to get up in front of a crowd then to be on television. Where you just looking into a camera. Are we on this type group or some other times. Yeah it's a quarterback club in jackson mississippi. So i'll go. We'll talk ball and they'll be great again. They'll love you. It'll be fine. But it's i don't want to say it's unnatural to me and i tell people at time if you're nervous about public speaking you're just not talking about the right subject right. You talk about what you known. What's important to you. My dad was a lumber salesman. He could talk about lumber nonstop. Talk about being bored. Nothing i should be your opening line by. Might open with that one. In jacksonville touchdown club is to this. Man yeah please. He's he's he's barely getting by site. Tom thank you very much. Thanks for having great to see you. Wait to be in lexington. Let's hear it. We are not done yet. We've got a former wildcat about to join us and we're coming right back reliable.

"League night and i wasn't able to see enough high school film but i'm not going to write off the possibility which is interesting. You brought up the levin athletic comparison that took levino long time to get to where he is right now and levinas an incredibly hard worker levin at has that reputation and he has been on the high end of his development. I mean that's that's something new knowledge so it's not inevitable that jalen green could do that. But i don't want to foreclose on the possibility yeah that's one of the big questions about him. I mean i think pretty clearly for the player type that he is and again playing at eighteen in a professional league. I thought his playmaking was pretty. Good you're there are certainly times when he would get into the lane and would just jump as high as he could and would get surprised by the defense or just didn't really know where he's going to go either turn it over force up a a a wild shot But there are other times when you know if you is getting doubled off the pick and roll. He could find the roll man pretty well. We didn't really see those passes to shooters on the weak side now. It's worth noting that at first. When i was watching the tape. I was like yeah. You know like this is all set up for these guys to succeed right like he's got a pro point guard. He's got a older pro. Big man who were setting screens for them. They're running a lot of plays forum kind of wide pin down stuff for him a little bit of pick and roll where the numbers weren't as good. But as i thought about a little bit more than the actual content of the yes they ran plays forum in a way that you know if you were playing in the euro league they probably would love but the situation we talked about this with mingo but commingle had green next zooms a good shooter and green has convenient who's bad shooter and so between playing two bigs most of the time jerk jack not really a great three hundred radio brown is bobby brown. You didn't really have that much shooting rental. He had in the half court like it wasn't a ton of spacing for jalen green in terms of personnel like yes. They had practiced a lot and they were featuring given all that. But i wouldn't necessarily say that the situation was as conducive as i. I kinda thought that it was what i was watching. Some of the you know. Just the individual cooks when you actually watch full games like. Oh there's not accident much space for for these guys. So that's something. I think he he could play in a situation where he has more spacing back to your idea. Though of the playmaking. I think very very much. So you know he can get to the level of a bradley beal or a devon booker. Or zach levine. As a player. he's probably ahead of all three of those guys At this age part of that too is just. There's more spread. Pick and rolls guys developing. Now you know. He wasn't devon booker kentucky. Like just coming off some screens off the ball with the bully cauley stein. And karl anthony. Towns is the focus. Doing he's gotten more wraps in that. Area zach levine was on a pretty good. Ucla team use the use of an afterthought it'll be oh was twenty twelve draft who is younger so he's got more ups spread pick and roll just even at the lower levels at this level Finding like shooters on the weak side. There weren't that many shooters to find on the weak side necessarily. He found the roll man. Pretty well and i wouldn't say that his pick and roll craft or operation is great and the numbers out of pick and roll. Were pretty grisly for him. That was thirty five points on sixty five possessions as a pick and roll handler which was twenty four percent of his offense. He's out of forty nine out of pick and roll. That's that's pretty ugly point. Five four points per possession. Every every other place taibbi actually was above average Other than coming off of screens so and obviously in transition. He's tastic like absolutely ridiculous. It in transition so But again going up against like real men who are guarding him in pick and roll defence. You wouldn't expect that his numbers out of pick and roll. We're going to be great at this point in his career but he's got enough passing in an update i wouldn't how would you describe his overall. Feel as a as a basketball player. Since i've rambled on long enough here. I think that it's okay. I i think that his he's not necessarily looking for everything else like that. But i think his concept of like one to attack space and everything like that is actually pretty good and green is so quick twitch that one of my favorite things that he didn't pick and roll was rejecting the screen because he's so damn if he gets if he gets guy leaning the wrong way he's just going and that will be true against nba players to now. How how what. Kind of level of nba players will be facing. Will he be getting the primary matchups have to see but having that in his back pocket and like you. I like some of the drop passes to roll guys like he has that at a better level. I mean maybe james harden deserves credit for this that these guys that are coming up. Have that pass. When five years ago they did it as as developmental players. And i mean. I think hardiman is the best guy doing that over the last five years and i think that this feel is is all right. I and it might be a matter of reps like i. Don't see the the like. Oh like the unbelievable anticipation like he knows. This guy's going to be there and make that actually thought kamenga was a meaningfully better outlet hit head passer than green but some of that is also circumstance got more defensive rebounds and could get there so i like i thought it was it was better honestly than when i saw athleticism on like. Oh god if he has good feel. It's going to be believable. I didn't think reached that level but positive overall. I'm trying to think of. Oh so it's funny. You brought up the opposite side stuff. I had in my notes like one of the things watching the pick and roll film. I said not making many and then parentheses any question. Mark passes to the opposite side of the foreign pick and roll like. It's just something that you did. And green doesn't really set his guy up like an impeccable rolling on still kinda getting the screen ready. But it wouldn't stunned me if that's something jalen. Greens never had to do in. The modern nba is putting more onus on potential secondary. You know a guys that are to guard size to do that. I mean bills. A good example levine is of course a good example so but i don't know if green you know he's if he's was asked to do that as much in high school where he you or anything else so i. I'm open to the possibility that he can get some of those. Maybe not the like insane levels. That some guys i mean. I remember connolly's filming ohio state where it's like. Oh god he's already doing some of that kind of stuff but my conley was special and he's not nearly as athletic as jalen green so the other thing too is that you can just learn those pick and roll reads right like it's not. It's not that hard unless you're just you really just have nothing right like and particularly because his physical tools are so good he may not be the greatest passer in the world but he's going to draw the defense to him and he's going to create wider openings than a lot of guys are just because he's going to get on top of the defense so quickly his shooting ability as well is probably gonna draw the defense and so i agree with. You doesn't have a ton of pick and roll craft. He's not like getting guys in jail and and doing all that stuff. But i think you both as iso game and you mentioned like rejecting screens in his first step is lightning quick. But that's not as fast as third step is but he will get that first step even if he doesn't get separation on that he just takes two more dribbles in one direction like if there's space in front of him if and especially like if you're not into the ball and directing him a certain way like he'll just take two dribbles and all of a sudden guys just behind him like he's not even really making movies just going in one direction takes two dribbles and then by the time the third dribble has happened or the third step is happened to guide just behind it right if you're just letting him sort of let's say he starting on the left wing takes a couple of dribbles towards the middle of the floor and all of a sudden the guys just behind right and so it's it's really really impressive. You know one of the better. I step through when you look at his quickness off the dribble for his size there really. I'd be hard pressed to think of. I would say a faster in that first step even then maybe levinas or at least flashes it more. Certainly than levine. Did at a same age. But i can't really think of anyone else at the to guard position. That's as quick as semi. I mean you really would have to go to a when i say quick. I mean more in in a straight line attacking. Think he's as good laterally defensively which will talk about. But you really would have to get.

"I have to tell a quick story that my mom just reminded me of so. This is a different era. Okay but my paople green. Who so. He was my great great grandfather. Okay had never been to a mcdonalds until late in his life. He was like this is like in the eighties and he got there and he got you know how they go like what do you want. What do you want. What do you want. And he of course had never been and had never been to a fast food place because he was lived in tennessee which was a very small town and he didn't know what to do and he just looked at the woman. Go just give me an order of mashed potatoes which they did not have stores so he would have been in answer to the question. Ruth and i don't know if in two thousand and twenty one but back to the basketball for second. I do have to say it gave me some confidence looking at these guys that they look like dude. They seemed fun. They were interacting with the kids. I the oscar. She was the only player there for people wondering why he's not there. He went home to the congo after school. And just hasn't been able to get back. Okay he will in the next couple of weeks but you see pictures of the team. And he's not there that's because he went home and has not been able to get back was mince. their men's was not didn't see. I did not see mitt. So that's another person that well you're confirmed what everybody else has been saying to camp started that they looked to be you know having a lot of fun and enjoying each other and i think that's important for team bonding that they didn't get last year didn't get point. They didn't get any of that can be fun team with a lot of personality. We talked about some of the personalities that we have loved in the past. Willie cauley stein. Just the name one but i think this is going to be a fun team personality wise this year for people who watch that group last year and felt like you just really couldn't connect to the guys that you just didn't really feel like you knew them. It just didn't feel like a normal kentucky team. I think this year it's gonna feel like it has good to me. Is what think we need that as a fan base. We need it. We just felt so disconnected last year than they lost a lot of games. We need that. I think with him. By the way i saw ty washington shoot threes. And i didn't see miss one. I saw him make like twenty five in a row. Really he was just out there. There's a couple of kids rebound from. He is every single one. My questions that you've seen him up. Close my taller. Than severe wheeler severe wheeler is severely short. No i mean well remember the guy and the last game of the year that checked in that none of us knew on the team Do you remember that guy. Yokich has it on the elbow against Luca starts backing him down. Split. The defenders got fouled. He'll go to the free throw line. Well, that time Willie Cauley Stein came over to help. But Luca Could not handle Joker. He knew it off the baton. Joker got them both off the ground There. You won't go to the free throw line. Do that every time first free throw attempt of the game from the cola. Yokich, M v P Candidate. Mind you Western Conference Player of the Week. Luca has 10 free throws free throw number one for joker that one's up in in so he can shoot free throws to MBA. It's okay to put him on the line every once in a while, It's striking the similarities between these two players in their stats. Last time they met, of course. In Denver. 38 points of peach apiece, both averaging around 26 on the season. All right, I gotta calm down. Second free throw fright. Joker goes up, and then he'll be looking forward to two more free throws. The second half. Here comes Luke across the timeline High right side over the purse. Inglese. Present discarded by Millsap. Of course, he hasn't played much in the second row. Six of eight On church has it on the high left side over 2% discarded out there by Paul Millsap. Hands it off inside the Arctic Jalen Bronson! Back behind him over to Luca Luca whips it over the course. Inga, scarred by Jamal Murray throws out of it. Bronson goes baseline all the way through the lane. A leans ended Nicola Yokich. It gets rewarded for the penalty he got. He got Nicola leaning there, and Bronson did the smart thing and just jumped right into him. The easy bailout. That'll be free throws coming up here for Jalen Bronson. You know, the nuggets have had this leading 13 14 unable to really pull away beyond that. Free throw number one is up it in his dad played for Denver. What's your deal with his dead? You know what? He was A. We're all competitive if we're in this field But he was a poor sportsman when it came to playing cards. Hmm. Had nothing to do with basket and you don't forget that. No, no main main man. I mean, give it a go fish. I gather no Martin shoots an airball. He's over three. Don church has it the other way. Luca peels off of the high life side. He gets a high pick from Bazinga moves off of that throws in the corner over to Tim Hardaway Jr. 10 on the shot clock back behind him over to Don church Don shits goes the left hand head fake on the three better hurry here. Three Pointer. Bronson. That was good is suddenly the lead is down to single digits. 63 55 8 Point lead now for Denver Nuggets See 2.5 on a good run here. Harris has that throws it off over the Joker. Back over the Harris. He runs over a player. Oh, that's a tough whistle against Willie Cauley Stein. I'm not sure that was a good story that could have gone either way way. But when you're a little when you run into a big almost look like Carrie pushed up there in the plane that should've just kind of been a no. I mean, he dipped a shoulder. Yeah. Dallas got screwed on that call. There's no doubt about it. He's got the grill. See, I told you, Willie Kali's got the grill going. I like it free Throw number one for Gary's up in any lab. One more James Johnson going to come back in and one more free throw coming up for Harris. Nuggets with a nine point lead have 12 free throw attempts? Luca has 10 Why do you keep bringing me back to any man in life You don't want to like an angry cause. Second free throw by Gary Harris is good..

While carries quarantine actually ends on Saturday, the league has allowed for teams to place players who have been out due to their covert protocols into their health and safety protocols for a couple of days that they can ramp up their on court activity. What they're trying to avoid in this is having players come out of being away from basketball and Kyrie Urban's case he hasn't played since January. 5th. "I think in the beginning when they first got him they he does kind of look like tyson chandler. He looks nothing like in nice ace. He wanted to face. He does bodies type now. No tyson was a little bit stronger. He wasn't as lanky you know. Willie cauley stein's arms. You know the ground. Yeah yeah you right. So it's been three games. So let's let's now we're playing calm down card. We were never that high on willie. Collies mingka's tyson chandler reincarnate first of all tyson chandler is not dead in his career or needed So no i look. He's he's been great but you're not depending on him. Wake when porzingas comes back. What are you gonna do you. Can you bring porzingis off the bench. Yeah okay fine next luga donncha which is shooting seventy percent in clutch situations josh. Richardson is shooting sixty percent in clutch situations. And that duo is ninth in the league in points per game among guards so tired. Richardson has been a great addition to this team or wired luca in richardson or low key. The best backcourt duo in the league. No no i mean they're ninth in is is wins per game yes and averaging thirty and regino twelve and they combined for sixty three points but there's no way they combined for sixty three and luke averages thirty that means josh. Richardson averages thirty three points. A game yeah. I don't know that's a good point that i got this for nba stats dot com. O no eight per one hundred possessions. Yeah maybe it was purple game. Nba status is sixty researchers averaging thirty three points game than the would-be duo in the league. Boom next okay. Settle the psalm. That one okay. Have the third best differential in points scored an opponent points allowed in the west so tired the mavericks are better than their record. Indicates or wired the mass will finish third in the western conference. I mean i think both of those can be true. They're definitely not as bad as their start. Yeah like i think they're a championship team but they were not to and fourteen now. Can they be third in the west. A lot of that depends on porzingis prison. You know a how healthy he can be. And how much corona time teams miss or players. Miss the team yet Will they be third in the west. I don't know i'm working on a piece right now. Of what it would take for luca to win. Mvp that depends on their record and at the time they were on pace to not win a ton of games they had like a five hundred record. So you can do the math but with every game. They play where they're looking better. I don't know maybe a fourth seat is an option is doable okay. So that was tired or wired. Leave your reactions in the comments which one you're taking tired or wired. Let's do a game called. Ab testing yay little business for an acura for my for marketing listeners ab testing it's a marketing thing. Like oh you wouldn't know no so. "Ever heard of me. We can hear to class pod all twenty listeners. Know so this is just my opinion. I appreciate it. But now i i would prefer a stable lineup because that just means you have good ways you have five five players. That are obviously good enough to start every single game to me like okay. You might make some adjustments depending but for the most part. If you don't know who's going to start game to game you don't have five good player. You want to minimize the amount of adjustments. You have to make you wanna force your opponent to have to adjust more to what you're doing. Yeah okay this is from at crawling. Meaning cra loan. Burt butchering these loan. Ninety eight this person said the last jedi was bad. I think that was in response. Thank you or rant. No he's one hundred percent correct. It's it's one of the worst movies of all time. It's not a little worse. It is one of the star in space and they miss the most basic aspects of space. That was there is no gravity last episode okay This is a youtube comment from mid high low over cry to actually say them correctly. You know what. I am trying. That's that's tough. Cova chevik okay. I think they need to add something on on trade deadline because this offseason classes garbage. They need to get a good center. Maybe someone like turner drummond. Alan probably jared allen and of course some good wings because hardaway is not a good option. If you wanna be a so we already talked about drummond but yeah again. I think with the sun center. Thing i just. I don't think the man's can do the two bigs. Porzingis is agile enough to play for the forearm that other big trained five play the four exactly on defense so i think you're better off doing really what you want at your power forward is what maxi does you would love to have. Somebody who is a known quality star is that he might be. He hit the freaking. He might be winner. Maybe he just needs an opportunity in the playoffs like last year to show what he's got another another opportunity So but i think you need those those three wings but you're four. He doesn't want to be a small wing. Honestly one of the.

"But that's a good. The bad and the ugly for is share your thoughts on those youtube comments or on twitter. Let's get to some listener comments from the twitter's and the youtube I'm thinking i want to. I don't know maybe alternate these are all just share the comments and we can react to over casanova complicated. I don't eat overcomplicated. So first of all people were. We are already shared your thoughts. People were really anxious to hear your thoughts on the new lineup change. i mean if you want you want a fiery topic for me. Why in the heck did it take so long. Well you know we are talking about. How rick carlisle. He's he likes to get like all. The data has to be one thousand percent conclusive that he the only when it's going against how he feels like he loves to wipe powell. He was going to give him every waking inch. If that was willie collies time to start the season and they started. Oh in two or whatever. Yeah he would've been benched the next game but think i'd have to agree with. Yeah so to me. Why in the world did it takes a long. It was completely obvious what was going on and now third three and this you sacrifice defense. You sacrificed wins to show favoritism. Because that's what he does and that's what he does with powell and that's the fiery side that was holding back. Okay okay next. This is from at luke. Six eight to four this. I got a little confused so just hear me out. We trade powell brunson and one to two picks for drummond. Then no not drummond. Now you don't want andre now. I love remind people. Want andre trump. I think german is a really great rebounders but what you can't play poisoning you set before. Morzine is not mobile enough to play the four. I can't have too big. He would play the ford. The five on defense is a drum is gonna play the four on defense. You're going to have him running around the four. It's exactly so you you can't as much as as the mavs needed beef defense and rebounding. You just can't do two bigs like that if it were anthony davis. Yeah then you can play him at the four and half german back there but porzingus just isn't mobile enough to guard a kevin. Durant an anthony davis. Yeah you right okay luke. We heard great point. And i think a lot of i think a lot of people like drummond. I just don't think the mavericks are ever going to go back to bigs. Okay this is from one. Casteran say at one tonne soup. All that's creative. I like that okay Because he spilled it j you a quick. I liked the idea of not having permanent starting lineups. Today's game is about stylistic shapes and having deep benches and rick is a master at fully utilizing players. So do you think they'll have a permanent starting lineup whence kp comes back. I mean i personally. I hope so i mean i. I don't like the idea personally. Because you wanna have and again you know to these commenters and a dude got an analyst. I'm just a mass fan. Like you. And i i still work everyday day.

"We don't i don't think as recording this. We don't know who it is. We know that three players are out during jalen. Brunson josh richardson. One of them is positive. And then today we just found out that maxie is positive so there's maxi plus one other player. Those two players will have to be out to fourteen days which is five to eight games and then the other two that are just quarantining for seven days. that's oh. I thought it was four days. I think it's seven. Yeah so that's two games. They'll miss two more to your games. Yeah that they'll miss. And then yeah maxine and the other one will be out for another four five six to eight gay. So you're looking at a starting lineup. Next game of luca hardaway. I think a one takes over. Josh green. Because i can imagine was surprisingly good. Yeah and then James johnson probably starting at the four for for maxine. And then cauley stein at the five with your bench. Trey burke in powell and josh green and hopefully nobody else has to play. Yeah so i mean it's a. It's going to be tough. It's gonna be rough. Yeah i wonder look. There's some and i don't know if anybody has any inside. Knowledge of porzingis is coming back. I have well. I like how you just brushed that off. Like i'm trying to make a point. It's not about you. I think it's skin way that mentioned that. He thinks they might bring him back in the hornets game because they didn't want to bring them back in the pelicans and have to with stephen adams elbowing him across. Even adams is out. Oh he is okay migraine. I was like just good. So i can be serious. I'm thinking if i'm the mavericks if your intention is to bring about against the hornets considering the situation can you bring them back. One game early. Yeah just out of necessity. I'm not asking you to play him. Forty minutes ten to fifteen minutes just to help offset the lack of players that have and it's just one game. Is it really going to hurt. Clearly he's healthy targeted the hornets. And yeah maybe. If stephen adams is out and he's healthy ready to go why not. Yeah i mean if if that is it if it's just a one. His name was the white powell he would have been the order. Well last game. Yeah i mean if it was that just one game difference thin. Yeah just bring him back to prison back. They're going to be social and look. I'm not saying. I want to risk injury. You're putting his career in jeopardy but if it's a one game difference now quitting any raise. Yeah yeah it can't make that much of a difference if it's longer i get it But yeah it's a it's gonna be rough for the mavericks. I mean but a lot of teams are dealing with this. They actually just announced that they're postpone the game between the celtics and heat. I think the heat and somebody so that's going on anyways so hopefully they can still get some wins. Duri time per. Yeah so we'll see but that that's that's the ugly coming up for the mavericks because it is i mean. Thankfully they want against the magic they had players out to in its magic and their next two games. Aren't against the lakers and the clippers. It's the pelicans and the hornets. Yeah so of course. I already loss against the hornets. Good then chances are will be at true Will get to our game predictions at the end of the episode..

"They beat the rockets. They beat the nuggets and overtime awesome game and they beat the magic when they were very shorthanded. Which we're going to talk about. But they did beat them in the magic guard handed to so some of the good. I i know one thing that we mentioned a few times in watching these three games was it. Looked like we were watching real basketball real team for the first time in a while. It was like it was real basketball. It was nice to see especially because the the start of the season that we had. I think we started to and four his wrath. It was terrible and we kept running out there with that same starting lineup that everybody wanted to see change and then finally out of nowhere against the rockets carlisle decides to change the starting lineup putting willie cauley stein maxi in there and moving dory into the three and moving hardaway to the bench which is what a lot of people had talked about how their size was just a problem on the rebounding defense and defensive side so carlisle finally listened. He lives with us. And i think that he listened to our pod specific. I'm sure he did. Yeah yeah and so we got a new starting lineup. And the census starting lineup. The mavs have been three. No yeah i really liked the starting lineup. i ask i have that as a whole separate segment. You want to do that or just talk about it now. Let's just talk about it in a couple of things i wanted to say about it. Okay first of all. I love maxi dorian and josh richardson. They're guarding maxi. Is a really good defenders. Really good help side defender. Playing the three is a lot more natural for him on the defensive side yet. And then josh richardson man. He has been awesome. What he he never stops his motor on. The defensive in is just continuous he. He's never taking a playoff. So i love their defense and then he hasn't been the greatest center in man's history but he's been able to hold the fort a lot better than the previous center of mavericks history collie stein. He's had some great moments. He's handsome all right moment. He's had some like all right. Let's just try this another nugget that he he's actually held his his own. He's done a great job out. The combination of length size and strength is really helped. Mavericks be a much better defensive team. Yeah i just think like you said playing during his natural position. And i talked to other people about this. I think it was on read it. And how during his too small to play the four and you know they brought up that a lot of fours. Nowadays they play on the perimeter. So it's not like he's he needs to bang inside with them and that is true. I get that. But i think you really saw it in his rebounding. Like doreen is a very good rebounder. He's a really good offensive rebounder but his rebounds went way down. And it's because that's where it really affects him his size he's competing with these bigger guys rebounds and it just wasn't working and so i think putting him at his normal position three makes a whole lot more sense obviously maxi's a really versatile defender at max's a much better rebounder is better ambulatory in. I love dorian. He's not a great re like every now and then he can sneak in for an offensive put back dunk a couple offensive rebounds but on the defensive end of the court. He's not the greatest defensive rebounder aegis. He's not strong enough to hold a guy boxing out. Thank you as losing the term. He just isn't strong enough to do that. Consistently and max..
