Billy coming in the Great American welcome, possibly rainy Monday afternoon in the tri state reasons to be happy Reasons to be sad about the Reds and the Bangles and high school football and more also high school, soccer and cross country and so much more. And, according to David Bell, Mo Eggers, good friend. Quote. I do feel like a lot of things you're going in the right direction. Our bullpen is turning around. Our starters have been consistent. I have been the strength of our team are offenses fighting through this and the results have been better. We got to continue to work to keep that going, but definitely signs of life. Unquote. David Belle once again, Mohagher. Welcome to the Bill Cunningham's Omo How are you? I think this is my third time on this show in a week, So I'm doing well. Well, I like to get your analysis because you're kind of a poet by more of an historian. And when I look at the standings that appears in the national legs, only three teams where they worse record than the Reds. And my dear park Math tells me there's about 26 games left. And at this point do you have a sense that they're getting better going in the right direction? The offenses fighting through this We've got to get better. Unquote from David Bell, who I taught out a hit. Now tell me, Do you have a sense? The Reds are on the precipice of a great 26 game stretch here. I want to feel that way. There's been no evidence thus far to suggest that that we should feel that way that they have pulled themselves off the mat to a degree. I mean, you know, I don't want to know what it would have felt like I don't want to know what it would have meant for David Bell had they lost those last two games in Milwaukee and limp back to Cincinnati. 11 19. I think that that would have been interesting. I think that would have been interesting to see. What Friday would have been like Had they lost both games of that doubleheader on Thursday. Fortunately, they did not. They win the game on Friday night, but as has been the case this year that they're not able to sustain any kind of success, and I went into this weekend, thinking that if this team really harbored any any thoughts of winning the division, which obviously when you don't have to do to make the postseason, but if they're going to win the division, they had to win three out of four again Chicago and they didn't do that, and it's kind of in the story of the season so far. Win one lose one win to lose to win to lose three win one Lose two. They haven't been able to put together any sort of sustainable stretch. This series that starts tonight against the ST Louis Cardinals is enormous. Because ST Louis right now occupies second place by percentage points. They've only played 25 games. They've got a bunch to make up here over the next four weeks, but the Cardinals are where the Reds want Toby, and if the Reds khun finish in second place, they'll go to the playoffs. But, um, again, the inconsistencies with this team, the uneven offense, the issues. They've had shrinking their own margin for error. The issues they've had sustaining any kind of success. You are being fair. If you're skeptical about whether or not the Reds can put together a string starting tonight, which would vote them into a playoff spot. Look at it this way. I'm a numbers Guy. ST. Louis has 13 total losses this season. The Reds have 19. I assume the Cubs are gonna win the division. It looks on paper as if they're going to only 26 games left. So to make up six games and the lost column in 26 games with ST Louis. If you get rid of Milwaukee, which is Milwaukee has lost 18 the Reds 19. You got to start winning tonight and tomorrow. That's what I thought. Yesterday's game was bigger than Montana. If they could take thread of four from Chicago, that would make a statement that we're at home a little bit better than the best team in our division, and they they didn't lose. They got hammered 10 to 1 ends up with some clown on the mound, throw knuckle balls, and I'm reading the comments of my friend and yours. David Bell, who is a good man. If I wanted a Boy Scout leader and be David Bell, and he's maybe says different things inside the locker room and he says to the media, but he's saying state, Of course, everything's OK what 26 games remaining. It's hard to make up six games against the ST Louis Cardinals. If you don't start dominating the ST Louis Cardinals and the Reds have dominated the Cardinals, like the Bangles have dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers, which hasn't happened at all. I mean, come on, There's like their pounds No Blaine, Wyoming and football. It's not your way we saw a week and a half ago. What happened when the Reds went to ST Louis? I think the thing about yesterday's game. I mean, look at that. The lob sided nature of it doesn't bother me that much. Jose daily own came in and gave up a bunch of runs. He is not a big part of this team. Luis Castillo is and the strength of this team is supposed to be. It's starting pitching, and Luis Castillo is supposed to be a big reason why, and the reality is a CZ. Muchas people will tell you that Luis Castillo has been the victim of bad luck at times this year, and he has yesterday..

My girl did not have a good weekend. God, I'm still so very unwell. She started poisoning kill herself by cooking chicken. It was chicken sausage and not the sausage that you just heat up and have quickly for breakfast. I tried to go gourmet and the real one. I have failed. I'll take ownership of that. That's on me, you know, and I am really still severely plate paying the price. I just started the brat diet, which I was knew, Teo. And like every millennial I don't know when to go to the doctor. If I should go, do I. Who do I call you here, CBS. Where do they sell stamps? I know. I just never know when to go to the daughter of like, just mean I don't know, because you know you don't want to go to the doctor Because now you're just exposing yourself to Mark Gurman and then and then. It's like I always going to tell me just drink Gatorade and shut up by doing it now, right? Right. And that's probably what they're going to tell you. So I'm a little nervous. I am creeping yam creeping towards five or so I said. I just started the brat diet. If you've had to do it before police and your recommendations via di em at the tip, Potter, it feels very odd to me at 30 years old. To eat nothing but Carbohydrates all day long, like I feel like a teenage boy like I'm having bagels for breakfast rice for lunch. Rice for dinner brought brought right brought brat. Whatever you want to call it brought misery is how much of that could eat rice, applesauce and toast right? Right, So tiff Potter's here. She's surviving this whole thing so and she can't cook. So that's the other thing that you and this is the second time I've gotten food poisoning, but the first time was not on me. That was because of fast food, but my first year living so how are you? How do you think you're going to catch a man? If you can't cook something? I already caught one And he does the cooking thing. Something your grandma say all right. We all have our strong. We're learning together, especially through quarantine. We all had to learn how to cook. Mr I said this and I said I would love to see when it's all over the statistics and the increasing number of people who can do the year with food poisoning because cooking, so it's a lot to believe I'm a statistic. But don't you think those numbers for food poisoning would probably went up there and covert because they sure don't know what they're doing? I can't be the only one out there That doesn't love to cook me. That's not very good at it. I'm not. I cannot be alone in this. We had a very small, close knit group of friends over this weekend, and I cook dinner on Saturday night. Must be nice, and they're like Oh, my God. We only like snacks usually like my there. The one that's still likes to. You know, I don't do it as much as I would like to, for obvious reasons, because you have a big meal on you want to kill yourself, right? Maybe not that far. But, yeah, I enjoy the etc. Italian partner like that. But the point is like, Yeah, We don't really cook. Oh, it's like, Wow. Do you know how to do this? Like true? I think it's I think, but I think that's back to the Kobe thing Like I wonder how many more people got sick like you. Probably a lot. Probably a good amount. I haven't heard of any of my friends who have like I'm one of maybe 15 of my friends that have knocked on six. So I don't know that when this is all over, the stats are going to come out there going actually more people died of food poisoning covered and Tiffany got it twice. Yeah, right. There's always that one blow in the curve. All right. It's never three things with tiff. And what do you have today? Thanks for your well wishes. By the way, I think this weekend. I don't have my steak I want we're gonna make a hard stop transition here to the notification that we all got Friday night. And what Notification to die. Oh, my God. Don't leave this that passing of chat boarding in 43 42 43 months. L mean, yeah. Colon cancer, colon cancer, And that was one of those things that never like. You just had no idea. No notifications. It's one that was like that was the screen shot heard around the world. Essentially, I screech out of that notification. And sent it to everyone. Just it's been all over social media and clips and interviews. And and luckily it's been all good stuff that's come out about him. But wow, what? What a notification. And so if you don't you're like Chadwick Boseman. I saw that, but that's the guy in and yes, he's been in his most notable role within the last couple of years was Black Panther. For all this, this violence out in Portland and elsewhere. He's just he's a symptom of this whole thing. Good morning. It's lonely here on 700 wlw and one person shot and killed in Portland is pro Trump supporters and black lives matter. Protesters clash they had Karen about 5 600 vehicles. They were confronted by the people protesting in the streets in the cities downtown. The guy who was shot to death was wearing a patriot prayer. Had Patriot Prayer is a group who show up to these things on if I guess had run ins with protesters. The pass in Portland And so the narrative this morning or this weekend anyway was about how this is all on the President's on Donald Trump. You know, I think he's the guy who figured out how to exploit this. I mean, no doubt about it. What's going on in places like Portland is great for him right now, as we had in the election November, and I hate to say that because this is our country, these air Americans were torn apart. But the idea is to win in politics, correct. That that's the job. Now, you know, there may be a scorched earth policy and held to pay, but that's sadly the way it is. That's the game. That's always been the game of politics. You gotta win at all costs that big. That's one that a big politics fan. I tend to be more. I wish we had more statesman than politicians, but it's what it is. And no doubt Portland is great for the president. And if it weren't blood, look it If it weren't him, it'd be somebody else, right? If there's a vacuum there, something's going to come in and fill it. We have the far left. We have the far right in the U. S. Has always had these extreme facts to think that this is somehow knew is silly we've had in the past. I mean, if you go back in history, even a lot more violence going on in the country. How is 18 60? But not really the most. Cordial of years in American history. We've we've been through this before we'll get through this. Promise we're gonna get through it. I'll come out. The other side will be different, maybe bad, something better something to be worse, But that's just the way it's always been in our history. But the issue As I said, I said, I don't think it's it's Donald Trump. I think he's just a factor in this whole thing. I and I think I think it's it's this social media. You got to ask yourself is social media compatible? With a functioning society. And that's kind of and I think that's kind of unfair honestly, to say that, but I did. Social media has just basically it's taking all of these thes factions. These people who feel that their lone voice and on the one hand and united them and organize them more. Counter protest ng first of all for those who don't think this is a good thing, you know? Oh, my God. Look at these Trump supporters going. Hey, you know what kind of protesting is a legitimate form of protest Ng? I hate the people are dismissing the 600 people who showed up to protest of what's going on in Seattle. It's a legitimate don't deal legitimize their protest. It's like when the Klan shows up in Dayton. You delegitimize the other protesters to show there's more people opposed and then favorite, right? You get six idiots and robes in 6000 people who are yellow madam. But you know what's there? That's not in Portland. The referee. Someone keeping the peace about that. You know, the U. S is a huge, vast country in 99.99% of it. There's nothing go on Look at Cincinnati, The Bangles marched the fountain Square. No one died. No one got shot that weren't worrying Factions. People are voicing their their beliefs and exercising their First Amendment rights. But Ensign in Portland and a couple other cities. It's all over Social. It's all over online. It's all over the traditional media that few people are watching. It looks like everything's burning down and it's not But there is a tiny population of disaffected people who buy into the whole culture war thing. And don't have any problem getting violent about it. People who are extremely passionate but also blinded to the reality. That anyone against that must be the enemy destroyed at all costs. It's a very It's a small section of society. It looks a lot bigger than it is, but that's what you do that That's what's true were and the rest of us are Spectators here. Look at it this way. Do normal people protest by burning down businesses by looting stores by rioting, throwing paint the facing toppling statues that no, of course not. To normal. People show up to a town they don't live in with guns and tape over their license plates. No normal people don't do that. It is a very small but crazy part of America. We've always had small but crazy factions out there. If you think there's a leadership void in Washington, how about Portland? So as I said, you know, if you had protests when we had the clan protest, and there are one or two so far, Clan shows up. Well, what do we do? Do we shot where we can't shut him down? Okay, We're going to let them know we're going to let the marchers speak or whatever, and they're drowned out by 1000 before everyone clans Clan supporter clansmen. There's like 100 people who are yelling at how stupid there And it never fails to never failed my lifetime. To get that kind of reaction to show you may be how not racist we really are. But in that case, you also have law and order there. You have state trippers you have in this case. You know what? What happened in what's happening in Portland? It's not safe. That's the thing is they want to go? Hey, you know, we want to let you protest by, you know, because you're protesting is police. That means we can't have any police there. No. All right. Maybe not Local police. How about the National Guard? Well, we can't Camilla to rise because it's going to send the wrong message. No, it's sending a message of look. You're going to go in march against police, violence and brutality. Whatever's your march great. Go ahead and excise first memorized. But the longer this goes on, you're gonna have people go on. Enough of this B s. You know, I live in Portland. I own a business in downtown port. I can't. I can't exercise my freedoms because your protest ng now for what 9/90 straight days. At some point, Okay, we get it. We got it. You're upset. You want changed, and we're not going to move until we get that change..

"Producer in the actress agree that there's going to be a sex scene or a nude scene, the intimacy coordinator now is there to make sure they follow what was agreed upon ahead of time and is also there. It's kind of counsel to the actress. When you know, maybe the director wants her to do something a little different and just to make sure that everyone's all in agreement. It's such a start contrast. The one we're talking to, like Linda Blair from Change Heat or Diane Franklin, who was in the last American Virgin or Pam Grier, who was in those famous movies in the seventies America, Gavin and and what It was like on the set of a movie. If you were an actress in the seventies, eighties and nineties and one of the Great things now is theirs just as much, if not more nudity now in movies and television. Yet today, actresses are a lot more empowered, and it's their choice and it's not like Hey, you have to do this when they don't have any representation like it used to be. And it's really a good thing. So yes, there were actresses that we'll talk about that in the documentary that say, you know, it was horrifying for me. Erica Gammon talks about how she had anorexia. Um, seeing herself nude on screen to Shana list Who says I never would have been on, you know, dancing with the stars? I've got a three picture deal unless I did that nude scenes in American pie, so there's all different perspectives, but it's interesting to hear from the actors and the actresses what they say. For you, Mr Skin. What was what were the iconic nude moments that you want to feature over the course of film history in this movie? Yeah, that was the hard part, narrowing it down. Like, For instance, some one of the things we talk about is the very first movie that won a NASCAR when they had their first Oscar for best picture was wings in 1927 of famous, Silent movie and Clara Bow. Who was the it girl, innit? She showed her breasts in that movie, and it's like it's just an example of Oh, my God. Did you know that they movie that was that famous at the time, But when I heard I'd be talking about the Hayes code, and then he was right. It wasn't until It started in 1934 in 1963, and this is an important moment in American cinema. There was a movie called Promises Promises in 1963, where Jayne Mansfield became the first American actress in a mainstream Hollywood movie to be nude since the Hayes code in 1934. So that is an example of Of an important moment in cinema, nudity in our documentary and skin. It wasn't like that's about words started right with Jayne Mansfield in 63. Then it just really picked up and you had all the where it just kind of rolled on itself. And you saw the biker movies and always say there were some, You know, a woman in those things and that type of thing, but But as you said in the serious cinemas started featuring a little bit of it along the way. Oh, yeah, well, that was, you know, listen, people's opinions. The sixties changed everything and including You know, the Hayes code went out the window. It just seemed very, um it became very archaic, and it just didn't make sense in the sixties. And yet Jayne Mansfield did that movie in 1963. But then you saw a bunch of other movies obviously pop up in the sixties, and then you had Midnight cowboy picture That was X rated in 1969. So it really now E should say the X rating And that was kind of silly compared to what you think of an X rating. But it was, you know, rated at Let me say skill. I've seen that movie and I never I mean, as I after I was older, obviously not in 69. But I never quite got why that movie was rated X. It was because of a male to what it was. That was very shocking for the time, but, um, you know, town void, but, uh yeah, it was. It's funny because you see, you know the actors and actresses talkabout it. Malcolm McDowell is great about this, he says, like in America. You know, nudity in Europe. Nudity is considered beautiful in here. It's considered like you know, there's a different already say, like it's considered like dirty in a way, and it's It's kind of sad, but they make the point that you could have movies with. Tons of violence and people dead and it would get a PG rating. And then someone shows their breasts and it gets generating. So it's a little hypocritical of every guard, but it is what it is. So the movie is a skin, the history of nudity. Where can people see it? Well, if you go, you could goto Apple TV Amazon iTunes. I at home. I have direct TV. It's super simple. If you search skin a history of nude in the movies to watch it, and it's like six bucks to rent, but like that we've been. I think you'd really enjoy it because, like I said, it's It's also you learn a lot. And if you learn a lot about the history of nudity and both male and female, and it's it's actually a really Uh, fun History and surprisingly, no one had ever done it before. So, Mr Skin, It's always a pleasure, son. Yeah, my pleasure. Ready? Thanks for having me and we'll talk to you talking. Okay, guys, take Mr erskine dot com. Well, we didn't have any plans. For later. There you go. Now. We have the Friday plan. Not Chelsea. I'm glad we talked to him because I had to come home tonight after if you weren't at work with me, and I said, Hey, I got a movie for us to watch it like, okay. What is it? Yeah. Sometimes you do come up with one little bit off the wall for me. So now now I know Lisa background. You know, I will tell you this right? Watch the movie Good movie the other night, a documentary and I and neither is going to sound weird, but I had read someplace that it was good and it would really was good. It's a documentary about Gordon Lightfoot. I could see with our bid. It was excellent. Really was good. Cathy Smith died today. I know last week I got and she's feature in that movie that just so happened. We just saw that movie and she you know, she was his girlfriend for a little bit there. I didn't realize he wrote so many great songs. You know if you could read my mind and all that stuff and Edmund Fitzgerald, But he wrote a bunch of songs Listen to sundown today because of the Kathy thing, and it was written about her about her. Yes, he was a great writer. You know who else signed? I just realized that passed away and shame. Rocky is not here to appreciate it. DeVos drummer died back in 2018, but I wish I was devastated. Don't know. At least you didn't have to be devastated for the last few years. Yes, this is true, but you need to bring this up again on Monday when Rocky's back too. Yeah, but I'm awful next week. Well, you know what, then? Text him. I know you. I know you've been a tad busy with a new little one. No Cathy Smith had been in failing health for the past few years. She was 73. In the 1986 plea bargain. You might remember that Kathy Smith pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter and several drug charges and served a one year prison sentence in California. After being released, she was deported to her native Canada, where the former backup singer reportedly took a job in Toronto as a legal secretary. I didn't know that whole history on her. Oh, not at all. And that's what you're known for, you know? Yeah, I was. You know what? I know The fact of that, you know, in your bio. If it's not line one, it's line Tio. It's apparently if that had not happened, what she would have been known for and remembered for is being the subject of the Gordon Lightfoot song Some down gets used to date him. Oh, really? "Ex ante well thank you sherry Preciado very very much and you know yesterday all coal burning drops out of the race and now it's all up to a Joe Biden and people said well maybe people could rally around somebody who's more of a traditional or moderate Democrat well don't buy that for a second here to talk to us about uncle Bernie's exit and the similarity between these two guys actually because buying been pushed further to the left is Cathy Smith issues deputy communications director for the R. N. C. and Cassie thank you so much for joining us here on campus at the Las Vegas on this Thursday morning Hey great to see what he thinks and you are absolutely right there's no reading instead of relief that we doctors that she died during a socialist in the race we have a socialist and that's right Joe Biden has completely acquiesce knowledge all of Bernie Sanders position Bernie Sanders positions are now the mainstream in today's Democrat party and we can not let up any momentum about making sure that we get not just president trump reelected but many Republicans as possible Dave Oct efforts within the Democrat party the Christian social agendas more important than ever but I never used to be that far as far left as he was not because I remember when he was became Mrs center the first time around and it definitely expressed more moderate and sometimes even almost conservative ideas but it seems that the squad led by AOC and some bunch of the others and uncle Bernie getting into this race here I think they have pushed him so far to the left that it's going to be hard if and when he winds of debating but president trump for him to back off from any of these left wing positions I think they both want to raise taxes on the middle class but I'm not a Bernie and Biden they both do immigration they basically both wanna you know open the borders and and and not detain anyone I mean there is not that much a difference between the two of them that's absolutely right it's hard to know if Biden always held these beliefs and just felt that he had to appear more moderate or if he's a political opportunist either way neither of those styles least Nestor those felt somebody who's got his own ideas for how to push our country forward yeah yes and he is a Democrat party then there the test is you have you can't pro life no better we know there's no room for that the Democrat party you have to be pro after the pro rate in the taxes you have to be anti coal and fracking which we know with the talent thousands of people out of work but it would devastate communities and we've also seen the positive impact that having control of our own energy resources a tad that we're not reliant on countries we don't like it very much so to see that Joe Biden has completely acquiesce better he genuinely intend and genuinely feel these positions or just feels that he have to do it show that he's absolutely the wrong person for the job and I would also point out that what we're going through right now with this candidate every day we see president trump's leadership in action you see what possibilities are normally punishing you don't necessarily get a chance that the inaction we're seeing that and then you're seen Joe Biden whose response to the defendants you just mimic everything president trump is already done say it but you said after you've already got it call him the info back only two months later this apologize for calling the Republican president trump of course correct in banning travel from shelter to get out but all the motion became just one of the line let me handle the drying being wrong on the issues and showing a lack leadership well at least you know but he he lags behind the times what an example best thing I can suggest is this whole idea as you mention about about closing the now your borders for closing the travel from China and initially he called the president's gonna phobic racist and I don't know what else he said it could but the crazy stuff and then now today he's going okay maybe that was the right thing to do he said the same thing about Europe we should be closing the you know anything on a flight from Europe but not in the says that's the right thing to do it but he does change on a dime I remember when he was in a debate with Kamilla Harris and does she she just rate them over the coals for his view on busing which but not the eighty ninety percent of the country agreed with at the time and still do a black white brown yellow didn't matter people didn't like the other kids taken out of their neighborhood schools and bused across town to areas they didn't know about and and he sat there looking like it was a deer within and the headlights you know it's just a what what do I do I I don't know how to answer and then he eventually had to backtrack on the busing thing which again most people still are are opposed to this idea he is a he does things out of convenience not out of conviction yeah that's a great way of putting it and if you see that this is what you get when you allow party checks there Canada despite the desires of their voters which I think is really what happened here I mean the DNC and the Democrat party completely actor Dack paved the way open every door for Joe Biden because of nomination Bernie Sanders was never going to be the nominee of the party and arguably our most anybody else that went on that contract debate it was never going to happen is that you always going to be televised game you not only have a party in his favor in a corner but he also had many in the media and this quarter and they didn't do that and they didn't see it all how are the policy going to play in today's politics in today's society and culture and that's a real problem for them if you now have to try and go and get the support of so many Democrats you feel so disenfranchised by the less we forget we know that there's a lot of on the field as a franchise because we've seen them coming over to our efforts volunteering for outdoor needing to ask going to our rallies because they don't feel they have a home in today's radical far left Democrat party conversely feel that president trump is fighting for them and is a voice of that needed so much in our country today so it's all right I agree very steep climb provide yeah no I agree and there's gonna be there's got it's going to come out more more about the accusation made against him about this this sexual assault on the scale back in the nineties in the capital and even though they tried to push them under the rug that is going to come out big time in the days and weeks ahead I can guarantee a chance to Smedley deputy communications director of the R. N. C. thank you for taking time to chat with us this morning I know we'll talk more in the days ahead thank you for being with us what power to it thank you yeah hi taken care we got more coming up and we're going to get to a right after we check in with traffic and weather together.
