"Basically, it's like, yeah, he was told to make a satire of climate change. And it's like so many movies now that you watch, you can hear, like you said, as a satire of COVID. So. But just a satire of how people react to scientists, reaction to the world. Two facts. Yeah, to science. Yes. I would say hashtag science. All star cast. A very broad comedy. Leo, Leo, Jennifer Lawrence. J law, if you're nasty, yeah? Yeah. We are Jonah Hill. Yes. Cate Blanchett. Meryl Streep, Meryl Streep..

"Our area and across the country are getting their first look at the much anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home tonight Parker don't you realize that in the multiverse there are an infinite number of people who know Peter Parker is Spider-Man And if that spell gets loose they're all coming here Look I know I get it but we can't just send them home to die It's their fake film critic Christian toto tells us he had such a great time with Spidey this time This is a true crowd pleaser You know it's a little silly a little over the top and you can tell where they're stretching to get all the different plot elements that fall into place but boy When this is firing it is on all cylinders And you know there's been this new term fan service where they have a lot of elements in these movies that kind of hearken back to past episodes or Easter eggs or whatever they're going to refer to the glory days of a franchise Well there's a lot of that here but it works so beautifully And it just joyful It's the kind of movie you want to see again and I think for fans they're going to be absolutely just beside themselves The story and I don't want to give away too much but it involves the multiverse where there are different characters and different villains that maybe we've seen before coming to focus and threatening Spidey anew The gangs all here again Tom Holland is an excellent Spider-Man as always a good special effect some wonderful action sequences and some heart and humor and even some romance So it has it all I think if you want to be a stickle you'll find some flaws in it for sure but I had a grand time and I think this is one of those rare movies where it actually could live up to the hype It did for me Very much looking forward to that We're going to go back several decades now to 1940s New York We've got big names here in this new film called nightmare alley including Bradley Cooper Rooney Mara Cate Blanchett Paul Anderson What's going on here Is this any good Yeah you know it's a film noir esque We don't see many of those kind of films but this is from director Guillermo del Toro and even when he's not on his full game his films look lush majestic scary at times macabre for sure And I think a lot of those adjectives kind of describe this particular film I will say I thought that Bradley Cooper who's always great and is good here was a little miscast He's playing this con man kind of character who falls with his carny crowd he learns some new skills He kind of rise up the ranks The ranks you don't want to get at the top of because it's a tricking people in a way but that's what he does and it's all about his character's journey It's a little too long There's a romance here I didn't quite buy or wasn't fully invested in It could use some nips or tucks but it is good it is interesting and when many films end poorly I thought this film's ending was chilling and appropriate and unexpected and really kind of creepy So I think all those things are actually in its favor So a good film not a great one It's getting some Oscar buzz I kind of understand that I wish I'd like a little bit more but I think overall it's fresh it's original With that great cast and a terrific director it's certainly worth your time Christian toto of Hollywood in toto dot com on Skype He strongly recommends Spider-Man: No Way Home and he says nightmare alley is pretty good too Make sure you're with us tomorrow as WTO P entertainment editor Jason frailey chats with former Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield We'll let you know what's happening with the Washington football team the rest of the sports day We have actually football tonight with KC and the.

You never <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Well at least i. <Speech_Male> You don't <Speech_Female> going to <SpeakerChange> joke thinking. <Silence> Oh <Speech_Female> i want to win <Speech_Female> an award <Speech_Female> or undoing. This <Speech_Female> am getting <Speech_Female> award. <Speech_Female> I don't think you ever. <Speech_Female> I don't think one <Silence> ever ever <Speech_Female> thinks <Speech_Female> about that. It's <Speech_Female> like if you're <Speech_Female> you know <Speech_Female> issue not still <Silence> anxious <Speech_Female> or <Speech_Female> if you <Speech_Female> or it's <Speech_Female> i think it's <SpeakerChange> over <Speech_Female> well <Speech_Female> yes <Speech_Female> because your motivation <Speech_Female> and the <Speech_Female> whole <Speech_Female> The incentive <Speech_Female> is all wrong <Speech_Female> and and then <Speech_Female> the universe tends <Speech_Female> to not award <Silence> us for <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> those types <SpeakerChange> of things <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> and then <Speech_Female> and then it crushes <Speech_Female> your soul. I've been very <Speech_Female> lucky. <Speech_Female> And i just do not <Speech_Female> believe in that. I <Speech_Female> don't believe in it. <Speech_Female> Because <Speech_Female> i think that <Speech_Female> we create our <Speech_Male> our <Speech_Female> destinies <Speech_Female> and <Speech_Female> the ability to hold <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> onto them and <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> i think <Speech_Female> yes. <Speech_Female> You're <SpeakerChange> very <Speech_Female> you're very <Speech_Female> level headed and <Speech_Female> you're very practical <Speech_Female> and then have <Silence> the right <Silence> <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> amount <Speech_Female> of <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Love <Speech_Female> for <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> when the love goes away. <Speech_Female> it's <SpeakerChange> <Silence> spruyt <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> you <SpeakerChange> know. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Do you have any <Speech_Female> advice for anyone <Speech_Female> at people <Speech_Female> always like to give <Speech_Female> advice. Sometimes <Speech_Female> like i asked <Speech_Female> for three pieces <Speech_Female> of advice <Speech_Female> to somebody you might <Speech_Female> encounter. <Speech_Female> Who's like. <Speech_Female> I wanted to <Speech_Female> what you to <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> i <Speech_Female> mean. I suppose <Speech_Female> it's <Speech_Female> typical <Speech_Female> thing about what would <Speech_Female> you tell your <Speech_Female> younger saha. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> I <Silence> i did start <Speech_Female> when i was <Speech_Female> really young. I <Speech_Female> think i was only about <Speech_Female> twenty eight twenty <Speech_Female> nine when i did my <Speech_Female> first <Speech_Female> feature film as <Speech_Female> makeup designer <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> To extremely <Speech_Female> young. And <Speech_Female> <Silence> i <Silence> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> had <Speech_Female> to learn a <Speech_Female> law along <Speech_Female> the way after that <Speech_Female> because <Speech_Female> that put me on my <Speech_Female> own. You and kate conspire and you come up with something and then do you bring that to the director about that that this is what we've decided yet. There's a yes absolutely. Obviously you know reward candidate hunt. Kate has faced specific ideas and we usually talk everything through and Bonds ideas off each other to get to the final Look and yes you know. Obviously run it aigdirect. Just say this. This is the road. town this of something specific you fell. You know she's being created this moment. That's such a brave is so brave to push back You know to have that relationship. What a gift that. You can really sort of bad ideas back and forth with kate you know and how it was also interesting about how her look did not Evolved per se but it was perfected. Because i i. It's very true to her character to be like. I feel she would say this works for me and i'm not going to change this right and i just like i do everything else that we're sticking with this and So so but it was refined in a way and do you develop. He's like that Before the show begins being or Do you are you ever inspired as you begin to film what it was five months so we all god's is five months shooting and chronologically but also remember how much you don't you never really have enough time to to whole looks like it might have the idea in your head but to physically map them out would be a great luxury So a lot of it is about just about the evolution and you realize this you do This is what it needs. It was a gift. In a way because phillies did start out. Being selected were homely looking unless put together. You don't carry didn't do the hair in such a perfect way for her. First tv interviews. 2021 Golden Globe Nominations Announced

"Desperate dose of hollywood glamour. We've got you covered because the golden globe. Nominations just dropped. The ladies crashed this morning and the competition is intense. Let's start with best performance by an actress in a limited series or motion. Picture made for television. There's some really big names on here. Caitlyn jet nicole kidman. This is a hard one for me. This was a hard one for me because miss america was one of my favorite shows of the year cable on shed got on the screen every single time and it was like she was doing oscar worthy performance in every single episode with that being said everyone saw the undoing. Yeah once saw nicole. Kidman bringing that drama but us in the unorthodox i know given the emotional than gravitating. It's so i am. You're right and exact. Same way i feel. It's one of those. Like i would be happy with any of those one guy wanted more for one person and i want to be definitive with you guys but truthfully They love cate blanchett shocked. If kaitlyn does not win but at the same time the coal kidman is also loved it so good and she came back after a while and whatnot or wildlife. The big little i. She's been on a roll lately. But the hollywood foreign press loves ingenue. They knew they love when rachel processing. Shera my dad no come on. What's one just couldn't stop watching about the better show. That's a problem. Richard would have been a conversation. Okay i think as if if you go based on the performance of a really pushing you sheera was tough. That's a tough role to do. So i really wanna give it to her. You know but again. I won't be mad if nicole arcade take it too. I just think the co kidman gave us nicole kidman and big little lies and we were here for the drama. The rich family that goes through something hard and we got it again doing about it just seemed like more like the same character however when cable on announced that she was doing miss america. We were all like blanchette hundred. I have gone back to visit. Does that make you mad as a television out. No i'm fine with it. You could one. It's different day rappers. Upcoming stars people from london coming over. It's a giant pool does so it's fine all right. Well let's talk about this one best performance by an actress in television series trauma. Now we've got some familiar names that we see almost every year of coleman jody comber and my core and laura linney answer a in you know i just gotta go coleman i mean i just billing. They love her. They always lever. She's always good. She always sales it and I think is gonna probably get it again. So let me take anything. The crown anything and everybody on the crime i could be on the crown go. I don't know i was waiting okay. Well what about this fun. Category best performance by an actress and a television series musical or comedy. Let's see the list here. I love all these shows to let me. Just let you know something. Look jane levy. I love you. You were amazing. I'm sorry you're gonna be pushed aside because what we have here is we have catherine o'hara who is stepping into the game shits creek was one of the biggest winners at the emese. People started talking about it. People started benching all six seasons of this thing. And we have not seen catherine o'hara on our screens in such a long time. Then we got this this moment with crawl right. She was it was like she was in on the joke that she was a joke in her character was it just was the best show ever totally. You work so hard and so long and then you're in something and no one you know when it was over on Was a pop. Yeah when say we're about we're pop but it was all pop. No one really knew about it. I was a fan but it just blew up and then everyone got those awards every what was this is like no other people like i've been a fan. It's been on those levi's please.

"cate blanchett" Discussed on Dyking Out - a Lesbian and LGBTQ Podcast for Everyone!

"Of substance that takes place now like our epic lesbian films are all. Either steeped in religious communities or like historical fiction where everything's just extra taboo until we get more I think. Modern stories in. Our lesbian media. About portrait of a lady on fire though is that that's one movie that's it set at a time where it should be like no no, this is bad. But that's never a factor in the movie like the painter could've easily been a man and it would still have been. Like this romantic love story happening, I definitely wouldn't be as into it but it still it would have like held up. It wasn't the fact that they were two women that ever seem to be the problem. It was just that she was promised to marry somebody else and that they knew that they probably wouldn't be together and. and. That's. A testament to clear women writing and directing. And Acting Yeah Yeah but you know the older good. The more I'm also okay with being like an old the Judi dench pervert one day like. I I'm like, no, that's not me and I'm getting older I'm like. Hey you know one day you never know like if I become widowed or something, I could become a. Serial Predator old old lesbian just going after Young Cate Blanchett types in academic settings that sounds like sounds very chic and I'm into a very fun. Chapter Yeah. You're. Right thank goodness like all these other movies portrait of lady and stuff because it made me think like another one of those shameful movies I'm I've been watching right the killing of sister George. Again, based on a play by play written by a man. Movie. The movie written and directed by man you know but you can see like you can see it on youtube like a bootleg version of it and you can see the trailer of it's on Youtube but there's this this kind of climactic sex scene that happens And it's where One woman pretending like she's asleep. And the other woman who's older right is Kinda it comes into the room. And then slowly starts massaging one breath with one hand. and. So this. Goes on and on and on and on and like, and you're like, is this the? Twenty what is what are? What are what is WHO's trying to say? What about this? Do you know what I mean is this like is just Doing this because this is just something deviant or or Is this something that turns lesbians and? Lesbians onto somebody. You know like that. See it blows my it makes my skin first of all, it makes my skin crawl. But but it's it's just like it's so so weird and. Who thinks that really happens? You know if you were to ask the filmmakers did you think that really happens that you know they met say no but I doubt it I doubt they might they might like in their mind maybe that's what they think should happen or is happening. Yeah. That's how desert hearts felt to me when the scene in the in the hotel room when she's like leave get out of here I don't WanNa see you and then she just gets naked on her bed and is like Like. She's still you to go. Like no, I don't think any of US fantasize about that like Oh. There's this person who makes me uncomfortable and they keep coming around and then they're gonNA show up on wanted I'm GonNa tell them to leave and then they're going to get naked and then I'll just give up. What a fantasy I I. Mean I'm surprised like that like in terms of evolution like that queer people like literally haven't developed is in the back of their head. Do. You know what I mean from the from the from the having to watch you know watch your back and stuff like that like it's just it's kind of shocking evolutionary wise that that there aren't like little little eyeballs. Right. Because people have been like you know looking over their shoulder for so many centuries really I'm sure at the same time though I also remember just enjoying that part of it to at least once I started seeing women like there is like a sexy factor to being secretive and too. You know when I was working in a movie theater as a teenager and. Dating somebody else who worked there secretly and it was like you know, where can we hide around the corner whatever to like seal kisser and all that it was like thrilling and exciting and I have to assume more exciting than whatever the hats were doing I'm just like okay. Okay. This is bullshit I was like, okay and I figured out that the personal ads. And maybe about eighteen years or seventeen or eighteen and. I figured out okay. I'll can get a Po box right at personal ads where people living road. Each other elise saw the ad in the newspaper than you wrote them a letter. Then they wrote back and everybody had a po box so it could be anonymous right and so so I did I got po box I wrote a letter a letter back and so then this woman woman put her phone number the litter, give me a call you know some time and so. I snuck down to my parents basement right and like on the landline right and like I called this woman in an and so is it turns out I'm seventeen years old and she's thirty five. And she. was like, Hey, where do you live Kgo I haven't I have an apartment. Okay. And then she said to me and where do you live and I was like. At, my parents house..

"Blanchet will be playing Lilith in the borderlands movie. It was rumoured recently, but now it has been officially confirmed Cate Blanchet will be starring in the borderlands movie from Director Eli Roth and she will be playing Lilith. Roth offered a statement to entertainment weekly about the casting that reads I'm so lucky to have the amazing Cate Blanchett. Starring in Borderlands we had the most incredible collaboration together on the House with a clock in its walls and I believe there's nothing she can't do from drama to comedy and now Action Kate makes every scene sing, working with her is truly a director's dream. Come true and I feel so fortunate that I get to do it again. On an even bigger scale, everyone brings their a game to work with Kate. And I know together. We're going to create another iconic character in her already storied career. Entertainment Weekly's Nick Romano reported on the casting and wrote about the film additionally HBO's Shinobu. Craig Mazin? WHO's also pending the TV series adaptation of the last of US video game broke the latest draft of the borderland script. It's unclear when things can go back to normal in Hollywood, but borderlands is scheduled to start filming later this year. Blanchet was in the midst of shooting. Guillermo del Toro's nightmare alley in Canada with Rooney Mara Bradley Cooper when production was put on hold in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic I looked up that movie nightmare alley, because I was unfamiliar with it, and the weird thing about it is Kate Blanchet. Blanchet is playing. Another character named Lilith in that movie. I don't think the two films will come back to back. She has a number of other in development projects on her IMDB. Page other than the borderlands movie, but there is a chance she might have to movies. Come out right next to each other where her name is. Lilith in both I'm actually getting excited about this movie. I'm not even the biggest borderlands fan, but I like Eli Roth movies I like. Cate Blanchet and the writer Craig Mazin is also a super talented guy, so. Maybe, this will lead to something cool I..

"Take two CEO Strauss Zelenik says. Google stadium over promised on its abilities. Strauss Zelic is the CEO of take two, and he's a very smart guy. When it comes to the video game business, he's the boss of Rockstar and gearbox, which has released games like grand theft auto and borderlands, both very successful franchises, so it's pretty safe to get behind his big bets. Take. Two did bet on Stadia. By bringing bread dead redemption to to the platform, but Zelenik seems less enthused about Google Stadia today. Steve Watts reported on xanax stadium thoughts for Gamespot writing. Take two CEO. Strauss zanuck says that Google stadium over promised on its -nology, and didn't seem to expand the market like it had hoped in a talk at the Bernstein Annual Strategic Decisions Conference. Zone explained why the company had supported the release of streaming, and he doesn't sound positive on the platform so far. Streaming technology is upon us, he said the launch of stadium has been slow I think there was some over promising on what the technology could deliver and some consumer disappointment as a result. Stadia launched late last year, but about a month ago, it offered users the opportunity to sign up for a free trial of the service. If you signed up for that trial like I did when it became available, then it's about to run out. I have a reminder in my phone set to go off in about five days to remind me to cancel it or rather you know, make the decision regarding whether or not I want to cancel it. And I think I do. I was an weirdly am to a certain degree, still excited about stadium, but it all really comes down to the fact that while having the free trial, I really haven't used the service at all I have plenty of games to play on other platforms, and even though I really like the idea of playing PC games in bed on my laptop, all the Games that are available on stadium ended up being ones. I can plan other ways. There are still games being developed for stadium. which is what I am most interested in. Shannon Stud still left Sony Santa Monica and the God of war team to make something for Google Stadium and I am very excited to find out what that is. But. I am sure it's years away. Zelic seemed to imply in the Bernstein annual strategic decisions conference that take to didn't have any plans for continued stadia support at least nothing in the immediate future. That certainly doesn't mean it's dropping. Stadia or anything probably just means that if any take two games, do come to stadia. They will probably just come well after launching on the typical console and PC platforms. I I still Kinda Rooting for stadium I still like it conceptually, but Xanax lack of confidence doesn't really bode well for its long-term, future? Cate.

"Yes so I've been seeing a lot of ads for this new Cate Blanchett movie where'd you go Bernadette yeah yeah you know it's the strangest movie I think I've seen so far this year and is actually based on Maria samples two thousand twelve bestselling novel of the same name and I haven't read the book but I I just wonder something got lost in the translation to the big screen here because the movie never quite finds its footing as a drama or quirky dark comedy but it's the acting the acting is what keeps you locked in especially the performance by Cate Blanchett and I think it's right up there with her Best Actress Oscar winning role in blue jasmine but here she plays the title character Bernadette fox who used to be a highly respected Ellie architect until a major set back to real her career and she never recovers from it and she's now withdrawn angry pill popping shell of herself living in Seattle and sending everyone down including her super super wealthy Microsoft husband Billy Crudup well her middle aged daughter who's played by newcomer Emma Nelson suggest they take a trip to Antarctica but chief Bernard it freaks out at that because he has to interact with people and she hates doing that so right before they were about to leave she just disappears but when she finally makes attracted an article of a series of surprise events begin to take shape in helper discover the person she once was up it's even though it's off kilter I really was leaning towards given this two and a half stars out of four but by her performance just really elevated so I kicked up to three out of four stars yeah because of the acting so she's the glue that really holds it all together so so where do you go Bernadette exactly okay and then we have another movie called blinded by the light itself loosely based on the life of British Pakistani journalists are friends Manzoor and all the movie is cheesy and hokey at times it's also a charming coming of age drama about the transformative power of music specifically the music of Bruce Springsteen and how it impacted him as a teenager in here is played by newcomer of the vet hello and the film is set in nineteen eighty seven small British pound against the backdrop of political unrest but the political message doesn't really overshadowed the story of the teen angst between the Vatican the culture clash between him and his parents notably his father who wanted to be a factory worker but view that has a hungry heart he wants to fall in love he wants to travel he wants to do it all but when a classmate gives them a cassette of Springsteen's dancing in the dark in the dark the blue collar anthems of the boss speak to his very soul the music changes be back and give them courage to stand up to his parents and ultimately for himself and go after his dreams this is a very relatable parent teen drama and it grew on me as it rolled along I think of your fan a Springsteen you'll love it of course an eighties nostalgia features music from the Pet Shop Boys The Human League in salt and peppers even spring yeah yeah it it's a it's a fun little bit so I'm giving the some three out of four stars okay line by the light so pretty much sums up yeah yeah yeah okay.

Richard Linklater Discusses His New Film 'Where'd You Go, Bernadette'

"Director and screenwriter richard linklater has made all sorts of films dazed and confused school of rock kboi hood all feature characters who were struggling to come to terms with themselves. His latest movie is where'd you go. Burn debt adopted from maria samples bestselling two thousand thousand twelve novel of the same name in the movie cate blanchett stars as a brilliant misunderstood woman in the midst of personal crisis his benedetto on a rainy. You drive with a thirteen year old daughter. I just didn't know how hard and it's for me sometimes but sergey uh-huh but now linkletter told john horn that it was the characters complicated relationship with creativity that inspired him to bring her to the screen was really interesting portrait of an artist who's kind of blocked and i think an architect whose blocked is very different than a rider ryder musician or someone else in her case. It's a lot of complex reasons. We come to find out in the movie why she hasn't done anything in twenty years so it's some kind of shadowy nightmare position i think for most artist to kind of find themselves entered even contemplate so you find out really it's just motherhood kind of absorbed her completely into the domestic which i think is the fate of a lot of women in to to varying degrees he's so it's a portrait of motherhood as much as anything kind of a mother daughter relationship but that that professional stasis was certainly one more more really intriguing element to her character. You know i feel so much myself and bernadette yeah. What do you feel in yourself and bernadette. I think everyone can relate to her kind of social anxiety or <hes>. You know kind of antisocial behavior. Some of our attitudes are impatience the aloof artist in her the one who wants to be alone. I i really don't want to have to go to the pharmacy today. I don't wanna do that so i i could relate to all that and then the way she gets excited about something. I was like oh yeah. I could relate to all that not to mention the elements of her life. You know parenting long term relationships. You know all that stuff. There is a mother daughter story in this but there's also a story of a marriage and the character bernadette is married to man played by billy crude up and he recognizes stigmatizes that there's something wrong with her and it's very interesting to watch him. Try to manage her mental health. I guess is no other way of putting it so when you think about what you're trying to convey about their relationship and about their marriage what were the important things to you in telling their story well. Oh it's a portrait of a longterm relationship. That's kind of drifted. You know he's been work-obsessed. She's got the domestic front and i think because he's so busy at at work in this case he works at microsoft and you know has a lot of people working for him and he does what a lot of people unfortunately do in our culture feeling kind of helpless he sort of ultimately outsources his family's health to the professionals he starts down the road to certainly pathologising her and probably you know medication education and a little bit of <hes> institutionalization you know so that's the path this has led him to what he's observed heard in some incidents that happen on and on the other hand parallel to that an old colleague has happened to be in town. They have lunch and he listens to her in the way someone who really really knows you. You like artistically just says to get your ass back to work. You need to have a creative project. That's what you need to do and to me. My heart insult goes that way like i really believe in the healing power of art that it's the ultimate coping mechanism with the world is to be creating something and and that's what is in fact the right things she does and she's wise to escape from her intervention and you see her ultimately reconnecting connecting with her creative self and follows that that's a good thing to that feels like something that you are either consciously or maybe subconsciously drawn to the the idea of kind of reconnecting with your creative self your true self. I mean you could say it's part of school of rock. It's part of dazed and confused at certainly part of this story. Do you find that to be an intentional choice that there are certain stories that you are drawn to that have that kind of theme even if the film's look incredibly the different castes is just a subject that always kind of hovers around me and just preceding to the world you know you always have this little voice in your head like. Are you doing the right eight thing. Are you doing exactly what you're meant to be doing and i have this critic in my head. Who's always rejecting things that feel like there's a path i should be on and certain things the on the path or off the path and you know it's hard to say what what's motivating you at any moment but there's a certain kind of personality that has to express itself and when that gets thwarted or blocked it can be very toxic <hes> outcome. We're talking with filmmaker richard linklater about his new film. Where'd you go bernadette. I want to play clip from a very different film little shorter that you made not long ago. Somebody left up to know my daughter today at ted. Cruz toughest tanks the kamar. Somebody call my wife a dog. Instead of my daddy was the kennedy assassination. I wouldn't be kissing is in their ass. You stick a finger in their chest and give them a few choice words or you. Drag your ass out by the woodshed and kicked their ass. Ted come on ten.

"And when I first got here, I apprentice that Hans Zimmer is meeting studio for about a year. Okay. Just kind of doing everything from getting the coffee too, little music tasks and things, you know, and learning. And then after that I worked for David Campbell. You know, arranger orchestrator for many years genius. I know who the man how old are you? When you came out. I was. I must have been like nineteen or something. Okay. Well, I guess that somewhat explains the accent. Just don't donate you sound pretty much American. Oh that was out to LA. I was in the states on and off kind of my whole life. Yeah. Yeah. Did you have a British accent? Not. I don't think. So I think I had like a German British accent at one period of mine. So. Yeah. All right. So you came to LA when you were nineteen you're working David Campbell. And then how did you get into music composition? Yes. I mean, I've always been really interested in music and composition. And when I I I moved LA. I think I was more interested in classical music and doing, you know, concert music and classical music strictly. That's really what you do as well. Isn't that? But you kind of kind of. Yeah. Button theme that's gonna more where I come from. Yeah. But then just working both at Hondas and then David. I think I just fell more and more in love with film music. And also just started appreciating understanding, the, you know, the art form of scoring to film and working with picture working with edits working with you know, I'll let stuff. And so kind of in the process, I I started to scoring films at friends of mine were were making, you know, the indie shorts and stuff and ten of just branched out from there. You know, kinda grew from that. Because now that's your professional job. Right. Exactly. And you do it very well. Thank you. You did a whole bunch of shorts with like a crazy amount of a list celebs, like George Clooney, Brandon Cate Blanchett, but they're the music really stood out especially the Cate Blanchett one. Oh, yeah. It's cinematic that music, and that's why I said like you'll come position. It's very operatic. Right. Yeah. That's like multiple instruments. Yeah. There's a lot of guests can like symphonic stuff in there. A lot of big orchestra stuff. You playing everything yourself. Will you have? No, I'm not. I'm not. I mean, I, you know, obviously on lower budget. Indie shorts you often and up having to play more right than you're like to maybe. But. Most of those I'll bring in musicians, you know, and also being in LA as a composer feels spoilt because there's so many talented musician any any instrument you need any style. You know, you can get someone same day within hours if you need to that's true. I lucky to be people bitch about Los Angeles. And I'm like, no, I love it. I love luck. It's amazing. Yeah. People are really motivated here and really want to work, you know, to find the right people to hang out with in the soci- it with you know, there's a lot of good people so much opportunity. Oh, yeah. Do you do your own arrangement and like conducting as well at times, and I do multi talents. Right. Yeah. Thank you it. Yeah. I mean, I I do like to compose and then also be the orchestrations arrangements and conduct. Whenever I can. Because I think conducting is a creative choice in the end, you know. So how you conducted on Sombor, and how you work with a musician in the end kind of facts the outcome of the performance, which is super important at least the kind of scores that I like.
